WHEN DO I NEED A MOOD DIARY AND TRACKING TOOL?

Mood diary is frequently offered by psychologists and therapists to help us discover facts about ourselves that otherwise slip our attention. You may experience a diagnosed condition like bipolar, OCD, depression, etc. Or you may want to track symptoms of PMS, IMS, PMDD, PPD, or track menstrual cycles. You may have stressful job, like manager reporting to executives or customer facing specialist, which makes you feel exhausted at the end of your long day. You may be on emotional rollercoaster as your partner is making your heart tear apart. Or you may simply be curious to know yourself better. This app may help! Bring your iMoodJournal to your therapist or discuss it with your close friend to maximize its positive impact on your life.

* To get the best out of the app, please keep regular records (preferably 2 – 3 times a day) of your mood with tags and self-portraits for at least 1 – 2 weeks. The Weekly Cycle chart requires several weeks of records to generate meaningful output. We wish you the very best experience with iMoodJournal. Please send us your feedback at support@imoodjournal.com.

* Note that we have no means to reply if you try to get in touch using App Store reviews. Please contact us by email at support@imoodjournal.com or via our website contact form – we provide full developer support and will be happy to hear from you and resolve any issue quickly, should you have any questions, suggestions, or problems.

Better than I expected. My healthcare professional suggested mood journaling and handed me a big sheet of paper. I knew that wasn't going to work! I've been using this app a week so far and I'm very impressed with how robust and helpful the summaries are. Getting to hashtag feelings that map with moods has been especially helpful!

Love this app. I really enjoy it and find it helps me understand my emotions. Even if I choose not to create an entry, the reminder helps me be aware to check in with my mood. I have modified the prompt and colors.

My only wish for this app. I wish I could track my stress and focus in the same way I can track my mood on the 1-10 scale. For me there is a relationship between my mood, stress, and focus. It would be great if I could layer two trackers on the same graph

Really good tool!. I use this app everyday to check-in with myself. The mood tracking, using hashtags and a few notes in the journal help me identify what I'm feeling and why. It's been enlightening. I have unipolar depression and GAU, and it helps. My therapist appreciates it too because I use it to record my meds, and because we can see how I've been feeling over time. The export to PDF and email work well.

Everything a paid app should be!. This is a great, great app. Very compact and streamlined, does everything you want and doesn’t clutter it with things you don’t. Very non-intrusive and very good at making mood tracking second nature. The Apple Watch companion is similarly well thought out and minimalist. Being able to very simply and easily dump the database to Dropbox and analyze it however you want is awesome. Seriously, buy this app! No social media connections to monetize what you’re doing, no crufty “ecosystem” hooks designed to upsell. This is a model paid iPhone app. Don’t mess around with the freemium junk. Pay a few bucks for this one, own it, use it, and get on with your life.

Great mood tracker. My therapist recommended I get an app to help track my mood patterns. This one is great, user friendly, you can customize a few things, you can use hashtags and it will count how often you use them. There is room to make notes, and you can take selfies with each mood entry to track how your looks change with your moods. You can easily send copies of your journal to your mental health professional if need be.

A few request...please. I really like the ease of use. It would be great if we could search/save named locations. For example search for A business and saving locations I go to regularly. Saving “Home” & “Work” things like that. Also, if we could scroll through all the “#” on both the phone and the watch. Or a short list of “#” based on the mood chosen. Love the app!

Use it for mood, but so much else!. Use it for mood, but so much else! With it’s simple tagging system and downloadable spreadsheet, I document all different types of things on here - sleep, exercise, diet - your only limit is your ability to use hashtags creatively!!!

I actually use it!. The other free app I was using didn’t give me reminders, so this is super helpful. Worth the $3 (and I rarely pay for apps). Much easier to use than a journal. You can customize almost everything in this app from colors to your mood ratings. I wish it were possible to search words that you didn’t hashtag so you could find trends in people or situations that were affecting your mood. And I wish it were social so that if your friend noticed you were down, they could send you a message. If the search and social parts were improved, I would give it 5 stars.

Bummer :-/. Been using this app since 2016. It’s always been simple to use but around the beginning of this year it simply stopped working entirely. Reminders don’t work, backup file is constantly corrupted, synchronize toggles on but a minute later, it’s grey again. Even the sounds don’t work (wasted enough time looking through my phone’s settings - it’s the app). What brought me here now is that even the fitted graph isn’t working properly, and this might be the most valuable tool the app offers... but now, something is all screwed up; the data is all there, but the graph is different. Somehow the line totally changed without the data changing & now the graphing tool doesn’t mean much anymore, since it’s no longer reflective of the data points as a frame of reference. This only became a problem a couple months ago, as well. And, for whatever the developers say about getting back to you quicker using their website... I contacted support twice - once in January and again the first week of April - in January, I was asked to confirm my phone make & model (even though all that info is in their own support email template from the app) & the second time, no response. I never received a reply in January after re-submitting my make and model again. It’s too bad it’s gone this way, I used this tool with my doctor.

Flexible for many uses. I track mood, but I also track some diet and sleep etc. using templates with numeric tags to remind me.

Well worth it. I evangelize this app more than any other. Simple to use. It has helped me through the most difficult time in my life. Keeps me honest about how I’m feeling and aware of the causes Easy to use with good visualizations. I like the ability to see the overall trend and different analyses like day-of-week and time-of-day

Best I've found. Long time bipolar struggles. This app makes it easier to keep track of mood swings. Would recommend this app to anyone.

Helps me keep track of my moods. As someone with mental illness, tracking moods is vital to help my doctors provide care. I’ve used this app daily for over a year, I highly recommend using this app.

Great for tracking mood!. This is the first app like this that I've tried, and so far, I'm finding it extremely helpful. I especially like that one has a limited amount of space for each entry -- it doesn't feel quite as overwhelming as an ordinary diary. It's mildly annoying that the reminder to back up pops up right when you have just created an entry and are about to record your mood. It would be nice if it appeared when you opened the app or something -- but not while you're in the middle of creating a record! Thanks! UPDATE 8/9/17: It would be really great if there were some way to search for tags on the positive / negative screens (to access them without having to scroll through all the tags)! Thanks!

Great journal!. This app really helps me keep track of my mood. Quick and easy. And I can be detailed about times when I'm in an above average or below average mood. I've been using it for at least a year and a half.

LOVE!! But.... I LOVE this app! Working on figuring out my meds and it’s very useful in this process. HOWEVER (developers?) it’s crashing every time I try and load the graph which one of the most useful parts.

My favourite mood tracker. I've used a few different mood tracking apps, and I like this one best. It lets you add tags to your entries and see which tags are associated with lower or higher moods, and it has some great options for viewing trends. You can customise the moods and even the colours (which is good, because for some reason the default colour scheme has higher moods as red and lower moods as green, which I find incredibly unintuitive). It's also very easy to quickly record a mood.

Great app. This is a very high-quality, useful app. I love being able to customize the colors, I like being able to do my own labels, and the tags feature is inspired. I've been tracking my mood on paper on and off for years, but this app is extremely convenient, makes the data easy to interpret, and is just fun to use. It covers all the basics you'd expect, including reminders, plus a lot of nice extras that you can use or ignore. I've been trying out two other apps that contain mood journals, Pacifica and MoodKit, and while those apps have additional features their mood trackers aren't nearly as customizable or enjoyable to use (although Pacifica's is a 6 point scale rather than 10, which some may prefer.) MoodKit's in particular only lets you record one mood per day (who only has one mood all day?), which is not a problem with this app. Update: well, not a whole lot has changed. The map feature is kind of neat. I have reminders set to random and sometimes I get two in one day and sometimes I don't get any, but otherwise the app works so well I don't care. I've been using it for two years and am still quite happy with it.

Really Helped My Life. I can’t say enough good things about this app. It’s not life changing, but it can give you the information about your life to make those changes. It gives you the ability to customize the colors of the different numbers on the mood scale. This may seems like a small interface thing, but for me it’s really a really important feature. Moods are tied to feelings and it’s critical those colors feel right to me. The latest updates have also fixed some bugs with the reports and graphs. Thank you so much for this app. Please keep it coming.

love this app and all its features. my therapist recommended getting a mood tracker to follow my daily up and downs and iMoodJournal does a great job. the charts, backups, and tracking have made it an indispensable part of my daily journey. Thanks app devs!

Perfect mood journal for the lazy. Truth be told I’m lazy when it comes to journaling. I have wasted a lot of mo eh on mood apps in the hopes that one would take. I have journaled everyday since I have purchased this app for one year straight! It alerts you to push a button how you feel and collects data that you can review. If I’m feeling like it I will add hash tags and notes. I can see cause and effects and it has changed my life behaviors dramatically. Thank you!

Huge oversight in recording bedtimes. I just paid for this app and am very frustrated right now. It will not let me record bedtimes that occur in the AM. It holds those as separate from bedtimes from that occur in the PM so I can’t track my actual bedtimes over time. As someone with bipolar disorder, this is a critical item to track, and my bedtimes will not always be in the PM hours. Being able to track bedtime, wake time, and hours slept and how they correlate with my moods is the primary reason I paid for this app. When will you fix this?

Perfect! Extremely helpful tool! =). I have cyclothymia, and this has been one of my main tools (in addition to medication and therapy) toward wellness. I needed an app where I could identify trends in my mood, and track my progress over time. This app does exactly that, with some extra features that I appreciate. It’s simple to use, and the app looks great. I like the custom colors and reminders. I record my mood three times a day, sometimes with notes and sometimes without. It’s so quick to just log how I’m feeling that I don’t forget or put it off until later (unfortunately, I also have adult ADHD, and this happens a LOT!) The data it gives me is extremely valuable. I’ve been able to identify a lot of trends in my mood shifts with the hash tagging and notes, and then use that knowledge to help myself. I’m very clearly able see the progress I’ve made over these last couple of years with the graphs. If you’re debating about whether or not to give it a try, please do. It’s been amazingly helpful and I’m very appreciative to the developers. It’s been a valuable and important tool in a difficult journey.

The killer app for mood tracking. Skeptical in the beginning but the reviews convinced me to try it. Very content while using it.

Needs some UI fixes. For those who are colorblind the entry screen and stats may be tougher to use. I’m partially red-green colorblind and although I can see the choices I can tell that someone with more deficiency would have a problem. The app needs to do automatic backup instead of constantly interrupting me to do a backup.

So simple that I use it, daily, for years.. This is a perfect app. I have it set to ping me once a day and I record my mood. Takes about 10 seconds, so it's simple to use. As a direct result, I now have several years of trends accumulated so can easily see a period in my life when mood was slipping. This is often not quite so obvious in the moment, which is why this tool is so useful for me.

No reminders?. Reminders just stopped on my phone. Checked all my notification settings and they are normal but there’s no more checkin. Not as useful when it’s not touching base. I also can’t find easy ways to export and send to a provider which isn’t great now that everything is Telehealth. I’m bummed I paid money for this app.

So far so good.. Paid for this bcuz well I’m bp lol anyways so I read all the reviews and so I bought it I just need someone to help me out with what the “template” part is ? What am I supposed to do with that ? Lol it’s pretty much simple but I don’t get the #’s or how they keep track but if someone explained this to me I’d be veryyyy happyyy! Lol ty good luck BP BROS N SIS ✊🏽

Favorite Mood Tracking App. I love this app. It gives me a lot of space to genuinely check in with myself and see where I am throughout the day. It’s interesting how much my mind fluctuates. I’m not fond of being prompted three times a day, but I like that it forces me to examine myself and see how and what made my mood fluctuate. It helps me identify my triggers, or, rather, evaluate them better.

Excellent app. I’ve used the iMood Journal for over a year now. I really like it. I use another Bipolar app along with it. What I like about this one is I can see how my moods ebb and flow over the course of the day. It also allows me to add moods and information that effects my moods so I’m not stuck with what the app maker thinks is important and should effect my moods. I recommend it greatly. My psychiatrist is also able to check my graphs for each month and determine if a change in medications are needed and to see how I’m doing at a glance.

Must Have For Bipolar Disorder!. I am so glad I paid the small price for this app, this app is AMAZING! Everything about it is incredible. As someone with type 1 bipolar disorder, this is what I've needed for a long time. My doctors encourage me to do mood journaling and this is the easiest way for me to do just that. I think the choosing your mood part is the most important part but being able to journal that specific feeling makes me more likely to keep up with journaling because I can type out my feelings. Being able to back up your info I think is a great bonus. Thank you for an app that works!

So helpful. I love everything about this app. It lets you create posts with so many elements. A little journaling, add a picture, a location tag, even hashtags that are grouped into positive and negative. They also offer a wide range of moods to pick from when you start the entry. It tracks trends and shows overall patterns which is super helpful for tracking my moods.

Great tracking device. I have been using this app for about two weeks now and find it very easy to use and keeps track of my moods with reasons why using #’s. My psychiatrist likes the collated spreadsheets as well and approves of this app as well.

Great app. Exactly what i was looking for. Tracking my mood helps me be intention with my attitude. 1 week and already making a big difference.

Great Reflective app, could use updates. A great app to reflect upon the ups and downs and especially helpful if you are in therapy and/or want to examine mood fluctuations. I have ADHD & Autism and suffer from strong moments of Depression. This app had helped me take steps to understand the ups and downs. It requires you to build the muscle to make notes during any intense feelings, but it helps show you the imbalances so you can tackle your individual goals. My biggest issue is that the app feels a bit dated. The way it syncs is old school, and I have lost a couple years of data due to its clunkiness. So be careful when you back it up. Do a manual backup as well JIC. Would love for them to gather some thoughts from users and do a 2023 update. That’s all :)

Great App. This app is great, I just wish the graphs weren’t as confusing. And I feel like there can be a little more extra things besides a picture to see how you look in that mood or your location.

The Best. After trying several of these types of apps I finally found this one which meets all my needs. Works perfectly and the environment is slick. I love this app and find it to be very beneficial. Great job! Also love the #hashtags and ability to add photos.

Good, some persistent annoyances. Good: Love the warm-to-cool color palette. Saves ratings. Easy to see trends when scrolling back through history. Annoyances: The WatchOS app always assumes a Siri dictation. Most of the time I don’t want a note, just a rating. So I have to tap “cancel” for the dictation, which looks odd, since I don’t want to cancel the rating. The iOS app sometimes (10% maybe) pops up a dialog when I save a rating, then immediately closes it. I’ve never figured out what is says. Wish list - stats: mean, mean by month, mean by day of week - larger color-coded trends: a whole month or year at once - export my data so I can correlate it with other things

Every update. I love this mood app. It works for exactly what I need without all the unnecessary bells and whistles. HOWEVER; it seems like almost every update kills the notification function, which I heavily rely on. They did it again this last update and there is no way to contact the developer to tell them it’s broke again. Otherwise, it’s a great app.

Good app, or was. Great customer service response. The app is solid, I use it often many times a day, but I cannot overstate my appreciation for an excellent customer response, both in time taken to respond and in the content of the response. EDIT: Latest update has app accessing my location not only without first gaining my permission or asking if I want it to, but with my location services in-phone setting set to "never" for this app. It's accessing my location in spite of my phone's settings telling it not to. There is no option in the app to turn off the location, and no option to delete the location. You do this now? Really?!?! I mean, EVER, but ***NOW***??? With the country/world in an uproar over heinous privacy violations? I'm getting a new mood journal. I liked this one, but it's no longer private enough for my needs.

Love this app. Love this app. Been using it since December 2016 and have recommended it to multiple people. I love the 10 scale system, photo, and # feature. This app has helped me get through hard times and reflect on where things went wrong in the past. The recent improvements to the summary graphing feature are great, but I would like it seen taken further to be able to view and export graphs of exact time frames instead of just limiting to full period, quarter, current month, and last 30 days. Even a “Last x days” feature. And it would be nice to export high quality graph images instead of only being able to export them with the whole PDF. If this feature becomes more robust this would be 5 Stars hands down.

Useful app. Really useful for quickly tracking your general mood. The journal part let's you keep more detailed notes about what was going on in that moment. The graphing feature is neat. If you use it regularly you can really see your ups and downs. I’ve been using it to see if medications are helping or making things worse, and am finding it really useful for that. Nice that you can back it all up with Dropbox. Would be awesome if you could track physical symptoms of depression/anxiety, too.

Best I’ve tried. I tried all the apps that came up when I searched ‘mood tracker’ and this one was the best. Really nice data visualization and the format for inputting your moods is simple but works.

Builds emotional awareness. Really helpful in checking in with how you are feeling emotionally and physically which helps trigger awareness even at times when the app isn’t reminding you to check in.

I just wish it could do more than one mood a day.. Text entry is weird using an iPad. You can't see what you type after a few characters and it's hard to edit once done.

So Far It's All Good. The app makes you think about how you feel and what my be causing the problems in your life and possibly make a change for the better. Thank You for the app.

Generic but useful. The mood ratings are from bad to great, essentially. There are no specific types of emotions or feelings like anxiety or sadness. So, you will only be able to track your "goodness" of mood. I have a specific issue I'm working on, so I try to separate that from my overall mood and rate that.

Extremely helpful.. I've been using this as part of my therapy to identify my feelings, relate them to the thoughts I've been having, and track my moods throughout the day. I have gained a lot of insight as a result of using this app. I highly recommend it.

Easy to use, solid mood tracker. I've been tracking my mood for almost 4 years with this app. It's biggest plus is it's simplicity. It makes it really easy to use, so there are very few barriers to entry. They've also done a great job of keeping it up to date and working properly

Awesome App. Great way to keep an eye on your mood. Great for monitoring anxiety levels. 👍 I use it every day. It gives a clear, quick indicator of my mood level, and also gives me an opportunity to do a little journal writing as well.

Really useful for mood and pain diaries. I have used this app for over 6 years now across many phones and versions of iOS. It works well and developer addresses any issues as they are reported. It has a simple interface that just works and makes it easy to capture regular information with a score. You can then output this in graphs or a fairly comprehensive PDF report. You can configure options such as sounds and reminders, how the scoring system (1-10) works and also add #hashtags and templates. Can’t recommend this enough. Especially if you are looking to keep a pain diary.

Has stopped working.. I attempted to use this app for the first time with iOS 13. Previously I successfully used this app for a year. It now doesn’t work. Sometimes entries can be made, sometimes not. Entries cannot be edited. This app has become useless. I use an iPad Pro 2nd gen 12.9. Do not waste your money.

Simple and effective. Very simple and effective app - better than others I've tried. Would be nice to have some more options in settings but it's good.

Excellent. Having suffering major depression, anxiety and paranoids in my every day life, this app has helped me through in a way. I normally write my feelings down but this app is easy to use and the graphs makes it easier to see how my moods affect my day at certain times.

Simple and Enjoyable. A simple, informative and enjoyable app to use for mood awareness. The photo album is a lovely therapeutic feature. It is a terrific app for therapeutic use or simply for self-knowledge and monitoring stress levels. Glad I downloaded it. Worth the price.

Great way to View overall wellness. Easy to use chart n u can set it up to ask you a few times a day how ur feeling n to rate urself fm 1-10. Would be even better if it could then be exported into a calender as I tend to put quite a fair bit of information about my physical and mental state.

Great for mental health. Great app for tracking moods and determining triggers. Charts could be slightly clearer but hopefully this will change with updates; overall a great app. I would love to see a space to track sleep as this is a major trigger for mood disorders.

Great App. Whether you use it for tracking your mood or health it is a very handy journal to assist any medical practitioner with some history. Also handy for any patient to review what meds or diet etc. is effective.

One of my most favourite apps.. This app has helped me so much over the past couple of weeks keeping track of my mood, medication, side effects and how I am coping with things. It also helps you learn more about your mental health and what could trigger something like stress. Very useful for me and so easy to use and keep track of. Thank you !

Best app ever!. I kid you not, I used to be one of those people who set a brand new diary for the year and pledged to write in it every day - I always failed. This app is an innovative approach to diary writing! I have never missed a day since October last year when I purchased it! I highly recommend this app! You will not be disappointed, I guarantee you.

Keeps me sane.. I've been with this app since November last year we've made it through thick and thin together. She's lovely to talk to and cares a lot about what I have to say. Thank you Imood for being the software for my heartware.

It's great.. It's awesome I've found out so much about my mood swings. It's just a great little app. But I reckon it should have a function where you can share the graphs through email. That would make it a full 5 stars! :)

Intrusive noise. If you havent used the app in a few hours, it emits a very loud “BONGGG!” sound that goes on for several minutes and cant be turned off. Its very annoying and sometimes distressing if badly timed. I would find the app very good otherwise, but im considering deleting it because the noise upsets me when im trying to relax or not panic

Check your mood over a period.. Simple to use. The Reminders and the backup to Dropbox are handy.

Best one of these I have tried. I have tried a few of these, and this is the best. It allows you to be as brief or as detailed as you want. It's fantastic for CBT and DBT, it just trying to understand what things are associated with moods. It can be used as a tool for just capturing snap shots of your mood overtime, or for more detailed journaling. It's particularly good and making you think what has happened in the lead up to your current mood. I really like: 1. Being able to change the labels on the 1 to 10 scale. 2. Being able to use the list of hash tags and create my own, so I can see what things are associated with different moods. 3. Being able to email and print the summary for any time period. 4. Being able to edit the date and time of entries, and make entries about things that happened a while ago, but I wasn't able to write it down at the time. Using the prompting as well as being able to enter data when ever I want is great too. Thanks for a great app.

Insightful. Helps a lot to track your moods for those with mental health disorders. Seconding more room or a journal option, would also like to be able to sync with email or something for use with health professionals.

Very helpful. This app is so helpful! I love that you can track you moods with photographs as well. You can personalise everything & find out what is triggering certain moods, or use it just as a journal. Thank you!

Love it!. Extremely helpful, and easy to use. I'm learning a lot about myself using this system. Taking selfies at different times was revelatory and affirming! Thank you!

Great help. I have found this program such a vital and useful tool to keep a-track of my moods and progress, but particularly lately when dealing with tremendously traumatic circumstances, to track it's effects on my health and mood, and accurately document causes and effects of stress, as well as the events of the day.

Best mood app. I love it, it's great knowing you can track your mood up to a graph and look back to see why you were happy or upset! I am really enjoying it!! :-) best few dollars I've spent in awhile!

Great easy to use app!. Easy to use interface. Don't need to be a Uni professor to be able to work it out. Graphs and additional info is fantastic. Can really be helpful in figuring out daily, weekly and monthly trends and why they may be so.

Psychiatrist approves!. I've been using this app for well over a year now and I love it. It's simple, easy to use and I like how I can set reminders AND best of all my psychiatrist thinks its great. The graphs are very helpful to him. Really happy :)

Excellent. Really well done.. I use this app to help keep track of my moods as I am tackling depression and anxiety. It is helping a lot. By keeping track with #tags I can see why things are helpful and what is not. I love the way this app has been designed. Great interface. The functionality is very well thought out too. A++

Like it. I like this app, the reminders are good it would be even better if you could set your own reminder times.

Good app. Easy, attractive interface. Good functionality. Would be nice if you could track overall mood for longer than 3 months.

A great help. Certainly a useful tool to help track your moods with reminders to instantly catch ur feelings at a point in time. Also great being able to create PDF files with your data and giving it to your health professional

Not working. Usually an extremely reliable app, but latest update has caused freezing issues. Had to delete app (but able to backup and export 2yrs of data- great features) now all working again. Old school iPod touch gen 4

I love this app. It helps me every day to track my moods. Easy to use, effective and visually appealing. The only problem I encountered was uploading onto Drop Box. It is good to be able to take my information from the app into doctors and other professionals who treat me for my Bipolar.

Amazing app. This is an amazing app for anyone trying to track their mood & possible triggers for mood swings. The ability to add photos to each log really showed how much my appearance changes with the change of mood. I am bipolar & have found this to be one of the best apps for mood tracking. Thanks. #Amazing

#1 game!. Really good and shows you how your moods are always changing i love this game and think it has made my life really fun because every day i want to do something fun just so I can put it on my imood journal!!😋😆😋😆

Great app. I suffer from anxiety disorder and found this to be a great way for me to track and share with my psych. Easy to use from kids to adults.

Great for those with mood disorders. I use this app as part of my self-care for my bipolar II disorder. This app also assisted me in being diagnosed with this disorder a couple of years ago as I was able to show the doctor that I had been experiencing a sustained pattern of highs and lows for many months.

Great. I find imood great for helping me download the bad days and appreciate the good ones.. Helps to understand that that there are always ups no matter how bad things seem

Working well for me. I wanted to see if I could identify triggers for mood swings. This app is great because it allows me to see patterns over the day, or across different hours of the day or days of the week. Also, being able to tag different factors means I start to see mood effects from certain people, activities or environments. I'm finding it really useful. It would be good to also be able to go back and edit the comments, a few times I've thought of extra things I haven't been able to add.

Excellent Graphing. I've been using a different using a different tracking app for few months when I found this app. The graphing in this app is excellent. It is great being able to view the mood with respect to a week day and time of day. Very useful in being able to see if particular days (e.g. weekends) are worse than others. The in-app display is great however exported reports could probably use bigger plots. Very quick and easy to enter a new mood and the #tags are quite useful to note down key points. I do, however, miss being able to record multiple things. In my previous app I could track sleep hours, excercise, triggers, etc. while this can be done to a limited extent with #tags it isn't quite as good. so for now i will use this app for mood and the other app for others. I was very excited to hear about csv export, however I haven't seemed to get it to work :/ it just emails with no attachement. Not sure if just me or not...

Good app. Good app to keep a record of your mood...the report you can export needs fine tuning...it keeps going back to your start date and it uses large font so you waste a lot of paper...that is the only downside if you like to print a report for your doctor...

Great. This app is very easy to use. The idea for tags: excellent! Very insightful for self analysis. It's just lacking a few features which one hopes will come with updates but otherwise, the core idea and implementation of this is great! Keep building on this and I'm sure you'll see more downloads and coin!

Best mood-recording app I've seen, with good export functions. iMoodJournal is a practical, workmanlike app that records moods, lets you see them in a variety of ways, and allows you to export your data. It isn't clotted with features, but it does what you need: I've found the hashtags and the long-term historical view useful, and I like the fact that I (and not the app) am the one who decides how often each day I should get a random alert to record mood. (As a nice privacy tweak, I get to decide what the alert message actually says.)

Ripper of an app. Easy to use, easy to interpret the data once input. Some nice functionalities, and a general pleasing aesthetic. It gets better and more useful with each update. Overall, it's been great, and really helpful. This app really has enabled me to restore balance to my life. :)

Sweet spot. Just easy enough to be bothered doing frequently. Just kitted out enough to make it both interesting and useful

Fantastic, just a few tweaks needed. Love the hashtag function and the 1-10 rating. The bar graph is an excellent way of displaying the info. Two small critiques: 1. The colour scheme is awful, and that weird smiley face at the start of the app is a little creepy! 2. I wish the positive/negative hashtag data took into account confidence intervals, because currently you can hashtag something once as a 10 and it will appear on the top of your list, being very unrepresentative about what usually might make you feel good. Thanks and I look forward to seeing more tweaks and updates, it's a fantastic app that I've found very useful! It encourages you to reflect upon what makes you happy and sad, which is excellent.

Very good app. Easy to use with excellent interface - just needs to allow the possibility of customizing the titles on the basic scale and it would be great. For a person with a mental illness top of the scale is "insanely great" ? I think not. Stigmatizing and inappropriate....

FANTASTIC!!!. I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder & have found this app to be of GREAT assistance. After 18 years of dealing with this condition, this app has enabled me to see clear positive & negative patterns within my day to day life. It is more than just a simple journal documenting moods, it allows you to predict & perhaps prevent certain types of moods as best you can. I highly recommend this app.

Easiest mood monitor app I've used yet. Great way to monitor moods using timed prompts, easy to select & colour-coded moods, option to take photo is a great tool. LOVE the hashtag options for ease of use. Needs an option to be able to add info/moods on past days you've missed.

Effective & Beautiful. This app had a lot of thought put into it. Very easy to record moods throughout the day. The reporting is useful and beautiful. I really like the calming gong that reminds you to log your mood. I actually look forward to it. (You can turn the gong off if you don't want it.)

Love this app - so convenient!. This app is by far the most fun and convenient to use for mood monitoring and the fact that you can enter a mood state at any time allows for a more concise representation of daily fluctuations. The #tag capability has really enlightened me as to what triggers changes in my mood state and I've only been using the app for a few days. Can't wait to log more data :) will be taking along to app with my psychologist tomorrow. Hope it helps in relaying how I've been going. Thanks!

Excellent app. It works as intended. I may not use all the features, but simply being able to write down my thoughts and feelings at certain times in the day is a really destressing activity.

Mood monitor. Awesome app, easy to use and great to monitor your moods. Love that you can leave lil comments, and that I can set reminders to remind me to rate my mood over the day. Great app, well done ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

PC Entries. I would be great to be able to make entries via PC.

Awesome app!. This is great for tracking my moods. It helps establish a pattern and find triggers to negative thinking. Love it!!

awesome. its great for have a good laugh when u re read your notes #love it

Superb!!. This app is incredible! It has more features than anyone could ever use, however it quite likely has anything you would ever want or look for. The developer has gone out of their way to include many suggestions from users. It is also very user friendly.

I've used this app for 3 years and I love it. I've used this app for 3 years and I love it. I've been able to track my mood, monthly and seasonally which has provided me with great insight into what influences changes in my mind/mood state. I also am able to track the physical pain I experience. When I don't have words to express my mood I take a photo and save either a selfie or a photo of my surroundings. I would recommend this to anyone looking to track their mood.

Great App!. This app is incredible. It allows you to record your mood and track your ups and downs. This is especially helpful for people struggling with depression, anxiety or addictions. It helps the individual understand their triggers and give them a healthy outlet. Defiantly something worth buying!

Crashing. The newest version crashes on open. Can this get fixed quickly? I like the app and would like to continue using it.

Great app!. Simple and useful.

Excellent App. I've been using this for over a year and it really assists me I'm understanding my moods and what affects them.

Great App. Like being able to capture my moods & track as well. Like that it's password protected

Invaluable. Excellent tool for those who suffer from bipolar disorder.

Excellent mood tracking app. Easy to use, does the job perfectly. Great job devs!

Great tracking tool. Easy and quick to use, love the charting features.

Works great. Simple to use app, with great reminder features.

Best mood tracking app by far. This app is truly amazing. It is perfect for tracking my moods. My doctor finds the reports really useful, too. Highly recommended!!

Simple and fun. Very easy to track your history. See what makes you happy and sad. A great app.

Needs polishing. I lost two months of data. There is synchronization and then a backup option to Dropbox which is annoying. I shouldn't need to backup, I'm not storing music files. I don't know if the data loss is a result of trying to sync a second device. Decent looking graphs, but wished there were some more options when exporting data.

Very useful. Both me and my doctor love this app. I have reminders set for various times of the day and the app lets me track various moods on a daily basis. It is incredibly helpful.

Works Good. I just started using the app and so far it works like it's supposed to. I like the reminder sounds and being able to make my own notifications. Being able to add to the # moods. Not all of us have the same moods. I'll be back

Beautiful. Beautiful and very helpful app, so much so that I can’t even believe the same person designed the icon! The icon looks cheap and ugly - can you guys update it to look more modern/in line with iOS11?

Not worth the money. Very basic. Notifications never worked. Downloaded Optimism for free and it works much better. Disappointed. Would like a refund.

Great App!. This app is really useful for learning and tracking the things that regularly effect your mood. It's been a really useful tool for me. Highly recommend 👍

Awesome Software. Try it by the end of the first week you will be convinced of the help it can provide.

Good app. I have only used this for a brief while... but I like it. I am bipolar and tracking my mood a few times a day and making short journal like entries has been good so far for me.

Psychologist Approved. Bought this app to review for a client. Easy to use. Love the tagging. Generates great insight. Highly recommend.

Fun and easy to use.. I can easily track trends, and entry is fast and simple. Good design.

Does everything it says it will. Happy with it

Great. Great if you want to keep it simple, or are needing something more complex.

Great app. I've been using this app for a while and I really find it useful. I strongly recommend it!!!

Great App. This app has helped me track my moods, something I find helpful to my mental health and well being. By noticing how I'm feeling I can pick out patterns and focus on improvement. It has reminder alarms and that helps me remember to fill it in. Great app. Really impressed.

Really neat even though I would like some changes. As a bipolar this is an awesome app. The ability to capture immediately how you look and key words/feelings is awesome. Things I wish: 1.Moods were individually colour choices - not mucked by a scale 2. When you choose a feeling or word take it out of the list for that capture - I don't like thinking did I already put this? 3. Alphabetize the list (I know you can type the first letter but it would be a nice option) Still amazing!!!

Amazing App but.... I love this app and I would love to give it 5 stars but I work nights and no matter how I try to set my mood tracking reminders, the app flips the AM to the Start and PM to the end. I want the app to remind me 10 times, over the 16 hours that I am awake, so I set the start to 5pm and the end to 9am. What happens is, I get 10 reminders to track my mood between 9am and 5pm when I am sleeping and then zero while am awake. I tried to set it to just remind me 20 times between 12:00am and 11:59pm and it reminded me 20 times in the minutes between 11:59pm and 12:00am.

keto king gymnasium jesus approved. came here cuz of keto king and i must say very impressed it hola you accountable and you can analyses and make conclusions from the date you connect on how you feel throughout the day and switch up your lifestyle if needed

Great. Best mood app I've found. Very helpful for remembering how I felt over a period of time to discuss with my doctor.

Great!!. Personally I love this up it helps me cope with my emotions… I recommend this to everyone! I have been using this for about four years now that’s a long time thanks so much for such a good app!!!

Spectacular. Amazing. It's perfect for tracking moods and emotional patterns. Also easy to use!

This app is AMAZING!!. Best in it's class!

Love This App. I have been using this app on an off for 9 years’. Probably one the most helpful apps I have ever used for my mental health. This app eventually led me to checking in automatically by myself now. I just use this app occasionally when I notice a change in my mood and want to track it.

Almost stellar. I like this app, however, I feel like it would be that much better if it had more level charts for different moods (ex: anxiety, depression, body image, etc). Overall great little program though!

Très utile!. La seule chose qui me déplait c'est qu'on peu pas modifier les écrits une fois que c'est enregistré !

<3. It's a great app for remembering old memories that you wrote down :)

Great for bipolar. Best app I've found so far. I like that I can write my own Label for the scale and input multiple times throughout the day. I do wish there was more than scale to make tracking different symptoms easier.

Great!. Love the reminders. Would totally forget to use this app without them. Not intrusive at all.

Needs scrolling when using keyboard. This app has a great idea and for the most part great execution, but often times the space allotted per entry is too small. As in, there is a point where I cannot see what I am typing because I cannot scroll down my text. This is extremely frustrating considering how flimsy using a touch keyboard is already.

Disappointed, doesn’t do what I hoped. I’m sure it’s a great app for some people which is why I gave it 3 stars. But it doesn’t work at all for my needs so now I’m out $4. :( I wish Apple store offerred refunds. Site says “track anything you like, sleep, anxiety, energy levels, etc”. But it doesn’t say you can only track 1 thing! I need to track mood and energy level and irritability separately. And now I’m unhappy and irritated that I can’t.

Transparency?. Lots of great features. But nowhere on their site or in the app can ai find information about subscriptions, fees or cancelling and account. Sneaky

Amazing app. Really heldul. This app has allowed me to get a better hold on my feelings and action. Thank you so much!

Has Help Me. At first I thought I was wasting my time. But if you keep it up and be honest to yourself ! ! It will show you the TRUTH you might need ! ! I also later used it 2 time a day and the results are even better Good App

Perfect. Easy to use, simple, and effectively customizable. I use the hashtags to track exactly what is causing my mood. Perfect for me.

Poor value. Could charts and colours. Better and some free apps out there that are easier to use to track symptoms. There is only a mood scale. All other symptoms like for example irritability and anxiety require typing in the symptoms and score. When tracking a number this is not practical especially when ones mood is down. No trial and no refund.

Great app - a few bugs. Great app would have given 5 stars but reminders do not work. Even though I set up reminders to occur randomly between 2 times I never get IOS notifications of them even though notifications for this app are turned on in IOS.

Reminders stopped working. Reminders stopped working. Tried to contact developer via their website form. It won't send the message and asks me to verify I'm not a robot, but gives no way to do so.

Great!. As someone recently diagnosed with PMDD, my therapist suggested I try tracking my moods so I can better analyze and cope with my rough time each month. This app is great. I feel like I can easily keep track of my moods with reminders set during my most "moodiest" points of the day. I'm also terrible at journaling because I never want to sit down to write down my feelings. This app allows me to write a couple sentences with each mood and tag certain triggers related to my mood. I've only done this for a week so far, but I hope to soon see a graph by the month - with PMDD I'm not looking for a typical day or week, but I'd love to see a typical month.

Valuable Tool. I found this app while searching the App Store for some way of tracking my mood levels as i have Bipolar ll. I found this app among a few others and began using a couple of them. It didn't take long to decide i liked this app the best. It was easy to use and it created straightforward, easy to understand charts that have been an irreplaceable tool for my Dr. and me in my treatment and therapy. All I have to do is journal about once or twice a day. I can send my progress notes or mood charts to my Dr by email so he can keep informed of my stability or potential crisis. I can compare my mood chart with my med schedule and see how well I am responding to a new medication. It's very accurate and intuitive. The only thing i wish it could do is sync with my other devices so if I don't have my iPad with me, I would like to be able to use my iPhone to record a mood related memo, or check a mood level from another day etc... Overall I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend it for anyone who needs to track or record their moods or just wants to journal. Sincerely, A very satisfied customer.

Nice as an hourly chime; too much friction (minor). I use this app, iMoodJournal, as a “time chime”, e.g. to buzz me just before the hour, on my Apple Watch. While there are several “hourly chime” apps in the app store, iMoodJournal was better because it showed me not the time at which the reminder was triggered, but the current time. E.g. if the reminder was triggered at 11:55am, but I ignored it until 12:15am, other hourly chime apps showed a big 11:55am, which I thought was the current time, resulting in some missed meetings. IMoodJournal showed the current time, so no confusion. (It would be nice to be able to put both current time and triggered time in the message. Enhance, please?) It’s a nice bonus to combine mood sampling and time chime in the same app. Actually, I first purchased iMoodJournal for mood sampling. I’m not bipolar, but I’m into QS, and wanted to see how my mood and work efficiency varied with diet, exercise, and sleep. However, when I first tried iMoodJournal I found that it had too much friction. On my watch a total of 6 clicks/touches/taps are needed each time it asks me “How do you feel?” That was too much hassle for mood sampling, but is less annoying for a time chime app. The watch app is nice, but has some problems: I wish there was more than one vibrate option on the watch. The watch app can present a list of up to 15 #tags that can be selected for your mood sample. At first this list was empty, and I could not figure out how to get tags into it. Turns out that I had to manually enter #tags into the iPhone version. After a while the 15 most frequent #tags showed up on the phone, sorted from most to least frequent. My tags are things like #headache-slight, #headache-bad, #head-good, #focus-ok, #focus-bad. It would be nice to support more than 15 tags. It would be nice to be able to manually control which tags, and their order, so that I could keep tags like #headache-{good,slight,bad} next to each other. (Or even have sub-lists.) A recent update added support for voice notes, converted to text. I wish that there was an option to say “Don’t record”, or “Ask before recording”. I wish the app provided the sort of finger scribble text input option that Messages does. In a meeting, or on a plane, I may not be able to speak. It took me a long time to figure out that I could input a tag by voice by saying something like “sharp sign focus hyphen ok” to get “#focus-ok”. Not much help. I wish that the voice note came after the #tag selection - so I can speak #tags that are not in the 15 presented. Remember, the user has only indirect control of the 15 tags in the menu. Once you realize the tag you want is no longer on the list, too late - you can’t go back. I was able to create my hourly chimes at 5 minutes before the hour bye creating a reminder recurring 14 times between 6:55am and 8:55pm. 14 times? By my count that should be 15. Anyway, I am happy that the app allowed such a recurring sample, but it might have been easier to save “starting at 6:55am, reminders recurring every 60 minutes, stopping when past 9;15pm” I really like that this app allows multiple recurring reminders: e.g. my time chime, and maybe a few random samples. The stats are somewhat bogus. They seem to weight every sample equally, no matter how long since the previous. I wish there was an option to notify on my watch only, not on the phone, even if phone is open. I like iMood supporting both regular and random sampling. I wish that iMood would show me a list of sample times - eg 6:55am, 7:55am, ... vs 6:55am, 7:01am, 8:07am... when I have misprogrammed the number of samples.

Editing function seems not to be working and FAQ answer doesn’t help. Can you?. I have read the FAQ but I still can’t figure out the editing function at all. Can you help?

Useful app. We use this app to track our son's mood daily. I like being able to enter moods multiple times per day, because he cycles through moods very quickly. I like the visual this app gives with the graphs, and that it gives an overall idea of how the moods are changing. If you have a bad day here and there but are for the most part doing well, it will tell you that. It also graphs certain times of the day that may be better or worse for a person, and also days of the week. For instance, maybe you have a more depressed mood on the weekends, or maybe your mood gradually gets worse over the course of the week. It is useful for planning activities, and for making lifestyle changes based on what you know your moods will be like at any given time. It also helps for making adjustments to meds because you can see the patterns. It is easy to use, and once you get used to it, really only takes seconds to enter your mood at the time. It also has a journal which is very useful. You can email it or print out the results and journal entries. The only thing I wish was different is that if you make a long journal entry, you can't see what you are typing or access the last part of the text you entered if you want to edit it. Also, when you print the file, you can't choose to just print the journal, or just print the graphs, or print a certain day. You have to print the whole thing each time. Besides that, great app!

Works Great!. The app does exactly what it is supposed to do. It helps remind you to track your moods and after a few weeks you start to see the trends. The summaries are the best part. I like the picture feature, it allows me to see myself how others see me and what I look like through out the day. I wish I had time to journal about my feelings day in and day out, but I just don't have the time. The hash tags are a great way to categorize various mood triggers, and some what describe the events surrounding my mood. So I can check in with myself through out my day without taking too much time out away from other important things.

Insightful tool. This app has very beautifully interface and does its job very well. It allows you to capture your mood at random times generating very nice real data. The data are very useful. For example I realized that I overestimate the times I am unhappy. It also allows you to start noticing patterns in your mood. It will be interesting to track mood changes over time because the exercise of regularly noting your mood state may actually improve your mood. The developers should strongly consider opening their interface to tracking other symptoms such as pain, fatigue etc. Great job. Thank you.

PERFECT APP!. This is my 1st review on an app. I am only doing it so others can know how great it is! I use it AT LEAST daily! SometimeS up to 5. It's a perfect way to track my moods and to look back at my averages of highs and low days/times! It's been a useful tool in not only seeing my mood trends but WHY I'm feeling that way. I love the fact I can go back and see what comments I wrote to understand the feeling. I often add pictures as well. I have been using this for 2 years and even through many different phones, this comes with me actually it's probably the only app besides FB and Ebay that I keep. Make sure to backup often so you don't lose records.

Unlimited Potential. I was so impressed with this app after only a few weeks of use that I shared it with two therapist friends. One of them chose to use it herself, and both now share it with certain clients. It not only gives a person insight into themselves, but also, if shared with a psychiatrist/therapist/counselor (or, for that matter, a healthcare professional or trusted spouse/friend/pastor) provides an invaluable tool that goes beyond how the client might be feeling that day, and gives them valuable information regarding how they are doing daily, weekly, and long-term. It can measure personal/therapeutic growth or be a catalyst for an alternative approach. This would be particularly true for those who suffer from bipolar disorder. Perhaps, as the app continues to evolve and the validity of the data increases, it could facilitate the process of choosing an appropriate medication regimen. There are endless possibilities in regard to this app; not just for personal growth and a starting point for change, but as a tool for professional support. My hope is that the creators not only find ways to improve its scientific validity, but even consider an app intended for professional use. Perhaps an app that allows the therapist to download a client's data and works as an interpretive aid for their specific purposes.

Latest update broke the UI. Hi developers, The latest update broke the user interface. I’m experiencing the app cutting off at the edge of the screen. All my templates have changed in size, becoming smaller. Please fix this issue I’m using: iPhone 11 Pro Max iOS 13.3

Best I’ve tried. I tested this alongside similar apps Moody and iMoodJournal. I was looking for an app that let me record my moods several times a day as I’ve recently begun taking medication that can cause mood swings and my doctor recommended keeping a journal so we know if the dose needs to be adjusted in a few months. iMoodJournal is more open-ended which seems a little daunting, but I can log everything the way I want to, even medication if I’m so inclined. The analysis functionality is by far the best of the three apps. Any moods or factors that you’ve entered have a running score for the time period you’re viewing so if you’ve tagged an emotion or factor multiple times, it shows you what the average feeling score you had when you selected it. The heat map quality makes it very easy to understand how you were feeling at a glance and I appreciate how it was implemented. However, it was a dumb decision to have the best feeling represented as red and the worst as green by default. That’s not how those colors are used in the real world and it’s unintuitive. Fortunately it’s easy to adjust the color scale in Settings, but it would be even easier for users if there were a few default color scales to choose from or even an invert option. The only other gripe is that it isn’t clear where the edit button is. When you first start using the app, there’s a break in period due to it’s open-endedness and I wanted to go back through the first week of entries to standardize how things were entered for analysis reasons. I had to open the FAQ because never in a million years would I have expected the edit option to be hidden in the share button. Similarly to adult websites, no one wants to go near the share button for privacy reasons so I really wish they’d move it. Just the idea of clicking the wrong thing in there makes me anxious. I prefer the guided ease of Moodlight to start with as there’s so many emotions already available to choose from, but similarly to Moody, the analysis function of the app is terrible. It gives you very little grouping and it’s much harder to view trends - an option which is only available through subscription. I purchased Moody at the reduced subscription rate of $5.99/year and tbh even that was too much. They only let you have 15 entries a week in trial mode. Maybe if it was for a direct purchase vs subscription, but the analysis tools aren’t great. If you prefer viewing mostly everything via emojis, maybe Moody is for you. I would never pay ~$20/year for Moodlight. Wouldn’t even be worth it if it was a direct purchase vs subscription. iMoodJournal is cheaper at $2.99 with no furth subscription necessary so the fact that it has the best analysis blows my mind. I don’t feel the need to try any more apps, iMood is providing exactly what I wanted out of a mood tracking app. ***Edit*** After two months of using the app, I have a few more minor gripes. There needs to be a week option on the mood trend graph. The lowest it goes is a month and I just want to view the current week most of the time. The weekly cycle trend is the general trend of how you feel over the course of the week usually, I want to see for just this week. I also wish the Positive and Negative columns were filterable for date range. I logged a feeling at the very beginning that hasn’t come up since, but it’s still at the top of my Negative list two months later.

One of my favorite mood trackers. I have Type I Bipolar Disorder, and I've tried a lot of different apps for self-monitoring, but this is best for someone whose moods can fluctuate multiple times thoughout the day. I love the hashtag system as a functional mode of organization and how it keeps frequency data as well. The photos seemed a little silly to me at first, but as I've collected a lot more data, I really do find it beneficial. Facial expressions are a lot more telling than I initially thought. I also love how my selfies aren't stored onto my phone. Only reason I'm not giving this app 5 stars is because it was a little difficult to set the random alarms and customer support wasn't very detailed in their answer. Fix that and I will happily change my rating to 5.

UI issue fixed. Back to the rating it deserves.. Quick to respond developers. Solid app. Very very useful.

So far I love it!. I've been using this app for about a week now. I love the concept and thank the developers for creating such a tool to help people intelligently collect data about their moods. I've had some emotional challenges in my life and this app is great for capturing the data during those steady times and the ups and downs. Great to look back and review your data and see what makes you feel great and not so great. Also may discover something you didn't know that you didn't know. Maybe you need to be on Meds, or just need the awareness to make changes in your life to feel better. I also suggest meditation as an overall mood enhancer! Be well everyone! 😃👍

Great App. Love it- has helped me a lot in my life

Great Tracker. This apps makes it easy to track my mood throughout the day. The reminders are helpful. The chart and graph are ease to read.

Very helpful self-monitoring tool. I really like this app and I especially like the fact that it has built in reminder alarms you can set throughout the day. Very easy to just pick an option for how you're feeling, write a few notes, even hashtag them, and take a photo. I wish it also had a way to choose other images. For example, I like to use the app Smurks, and it would be great in this app to choose more gradated aspects of feeling. And the same thing with the *word choices* for how you're feeling. I wish there were either more ways to combine certain words (e.g. good AND exhausted), or ways to keep the scale but change the words on the scale. But overall, an excellent app for monitoring your feelings, mental acuity etc.

Too complicated & not enough fun. Tried briefly but not as easy or flexible as other app I am now using & cost me $$ over other free app

Fast & Easy App to Track Your Moods. This app is really excellent app for tracking your moods day-by-day. U can set a time for a reminder to alert u to make an entry for the day. For me, I set it for 10PM so I know how my day has gone. It can take as little as seconds to select from the 10 level tier mood chart from which to select how u felt that day. What is nice is that u can edit the different mood states so they r more personalized. I mentioned that it takes only seconds to select your mood for a day, but u can also add as much content as u like about your day. I started off with a few sentences and now I use it more than my journal app. One really important attribute is that each entry is saved to the same PDF document, so you can click on the PDF file and it will show u all your days. My journal app doesn't make it that simple by far and so I like this feature. I should note that I'm accessing the PDF file through Dropbox which is where the PDF file is stored. I'm not sure how u would see the PDF otherwise. But everyone, practically, uses Dropbox. So, again, it's a very helpful app to accurately track your moods over time and to see literally see on a graph how you r feeling overall. 😊

Best mood tracker I've used. I've used a few other mood trackers over the years, and this one provides the most useful and easily accessible feedback. It's easy and quick to log, and the graphs are attractive and easy to read. You can export to Excel for further analysis, but I like the built in feedback. It would be nice to select multiple tags at once, but that's a minor issue. The interface itself is attractive enough to make you want to use it. I also like the picture capture option. I thought it was gimmicky at first, but it's nice to see your smiling self on a good day, or a photo of something that made you feel good or bad. This is now one of my favorite apps.

Really helpful! Helped in my treatment. I needed a way to track my mood, because when I'd see my therapist and he'd ask me how I've been, I wouldn't remember past that morning. When dealing with depression, the days become a blur, especially when it comes to my overall mood. How was I feeling two weeks ago? I couldn't tell you. But with the app, now I'm able to give my doc precise data! Not only does this app help keep track of my mood patterns, it forces me to take stock of my mood instead of wallowing in it. When I AM feeling sad, instead of just sitting there, I can realize how I'm feeling and why through use of this app and reconsider what I'm doing. Because this app makes me consider my mood, I can change my actions to be happier instead of curling up in sorrow. I've tried a few other mood tracking apps, and this one is definitely my favorite. Some other apps give a list of moods to choose from, which can be limiting. In iMoodJournal, you type in your own word to describe your mood, denoting the mood with a #. This way, I can say I'm more than just "sad" or "happy," I'm bereft, or joyful, or despairing, or what have you. What I also like is the simple design of the app's interface. Other apps I've used have been too childish and loud-colored, some were pixelated and unprofessional-looking. Additionally, this app rarely crashes. Personally, this app has really helped in my treatment. Instead of having only a fuzzy sense of my past moods, like I mentioned before, I have a record of my days. This helped my doc and I figure out that there was a cyclical component to my mood - that my mood depressed about once a month. Along with my period tracking app, this app's data helped my doc and I figure out that there is a menstrual aspect to my depression, which got me on the road to more effective treatment! I'd say that alone is worth high praise! Overall, I'm really happy with this app. I definitely recommend it because tracking one's mood can be really helpful for one's treatment. Additionally, I recommend iMoodJournal over other mood tracking apps because of its reliable performance and user-friendly and professional interface.

Latest update ruined app. Screen size is wrong on the iPhone 11. It’s all screwed up.

8/10. Solid app helps with seeing what’s important

Useful but somewhat limited. This is a pretty simple and easy way to track one's mood over time. The integration of Twitter style keywords or hash tags offers an interesting view into specific details. I'd really like the ability to change the long, annoying gong sound that goes off as a reminder. It seriously irritates me when listening to podcasts or doing something when I can't grab my phone immediately to stop the noise and enter my mood. That alone has me pondering the abandonment of the app. Useful as the hash tag words are, it's also very limited, only offering a top few of happy mood vs negative mood words. It would be nice to have the option to do more with the keywords and metric displays, especially date ranges on the graph. I think most people will start out enthusiastic with the app and then abandon it after a month or so because it lacks the ability to hone in on more specific tracking of mood via custom date and keyword metrics. It just becomes a "heap" of meaningless data that can't be examined closer after such a time investment in tracking moods and thoughts. I'm on the verge of abandoning it myself as it becomes LESS useful over time.

Great mood app. I

Privacy policy?. It’s nowhere to be found. This is unacceptable for an app that has access to sensitive health information.

Will not display long text entries. This is a nice customizable emotion journal that can include a picture to encapsulate your entry. However the text editing features are not polished. It does not allow you to put a carriage return within the text so you cannot start a carriage return. If your text is longer than about 2 inches from the top of the screen The app does not automatically show the end of the text. You have to swipe up and then hold it there to read the end of the text. Also I cannot find a way to add text when the entry is longer then the screen on the iPhone. I like the feature that allows you to add one word additives of your emotions with hashtags but those emotions are not in alphabetical order and they're not easy to edit. These seem to be very easy fixes but the app is free after all.

iOS 13 - Broken. Update broke the UI and font colors (not dark mode compatible). Don't update.

This app is great! Simple and powerful.. I have tried several apps in the past to try and track my severe depression over the years, but apps I thought were great ended up being too complicated to keep up with and I would inevitably end up trailing off usage, never coining any useful knowledge. One of my depression "quirks" is that when I fell depressed I tend to think that I am depressed most of the time. My husband is always reminding me that it's usually only a few days, don't get me wrong there are definitely longer stretches, but on the average I can now look at something tangible and even If I am depressed see for myself that is untrue. Which is a great thing for me. Other things I really like about this app is that you can log multiple times a day. I always struggled with that on other apps. If I had a great morning, but then had a craptacular evening how should I rate my day? I also love the hashtags. I hashtag an anxiety medication that I take "as needed". Sometimes I was feeling like I was taking it too often. In reality, I know see from from the diagrams, that I tend to only need it when I am pmsing for the most part. Definitely worth a try. What do you have to lose?!

Why isn’t month changing?. I used this a couple years ago w no problem. But I started up again & ever since The month change in December the ap does not show me the calendar past November :-/

Make hundred scale. This app is good used since December 2018 make the scale one to hundred please my mental health relies on this

Worth it. I really like this app. It provides a graph of your moods. Rates the moods from 1-10, severely depressed to manic. Perfect for Bipolar.

Not great for bipolar. I really wanted to like this app. It came well rated and I think it would be terrific....if I didn’t have bipolar.

I love this app. I've been using this app for about 4 months along w moodkit (another iphone app) to better monitor my moods. I love imoodjournal's interface, it's very easy to use. I wish you could add your own descriptions for how you feel, that would be nice. Or even just a 1-10. Anyway, the tags are so helpful and can give you a picture of what might be triggering bad moods/depression and likewise what uplifts you if you use it even fairly consistently. I also love the reminder tone, reminds me of a singing bowl. Highly recommend if you wish to understand your emotional life a little better on the day to day. I haven't figured out the full functionality of the charts and such but it is a very straightforward app!

truly impressive. Before I found this, I was trying to track my moods with a normal journal, and I found that this app makes it much easier and helps greatly in finding insights. Indeed it is a much more seriously useful tool than its smiley face icon would suggest. The function that connects words to moods using hashtags is a very clever tool, as are the charts of mood patterns in the course of a day, week etc. I'm just having a bit of trouble setting the reminders function to simply run all day long, but I do love that it offers randomly timed periodic reminders. I also think it might be useful to be able to tag positive and negative aspects within a single entry instead of cataloging everything within an entry as either positive or negative. Overall, a great tool though.

This is my favorite app out of everyone of them!!!!!!!. I have some very deep issues that I am dealing with (Ex-husband/child custody/health) and I struggle daily. I have been asked by my doctor to keep a journal. To actually sit down and hand write one has not worked out well at all. Now that I have this one, I record my thoughts and feelings EVERYDAY!! It sends me a reminder and asks me daily how I am feeling. It also keeps a record of my progress. It is so easy to use and I love the fact that I can "write" or speak my daily thoughts in my journal while on the go! When I go to see my counselor/therapist all I have to do is open this app and I can immediately show her how I am doing. Thank you so much for creating this app. I truly believe it is making a HUGE difference for me and is helping me with my progress!! I can't thank you enough. Again, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! This app is amazing and a very convenient, private, USER FRIENDLY app! I would give it way more than five stars if I could. And whoever created this app, you are awesome! Keep up the good work!!!

Everything I was looking for. I'm so happy and relieved to have found this app. I was nervous to buy it, not being sure if it would be what I wanted, but I was very fortunate. I downloaded every free mood tracker and none of them compare to this. I can pick my mood on a wide scale of 1-10 and then I can tag other words of how I specifically feel. And I can do this as many times a day as I want, which is SO helpful for someone with Borderline Personality Disorder (unstable moods that change in minutes are a component). I can't wait to build up data over time and to be able to track where my moods are good and why, this is going to be instrumental in my recovery. Thank you guys for making this app!!!!

Great app for folks w mood disorders!. I tried so many different ways of tracking my mood cycles and patterns and this has been the only one that works for me. It's also great that you can track anything you want -- I track particular feelings, events, medication changes, and behaviors over time and across situations. My only complaints are that it doesn't display all of the text of your words when the entry is long, and that I can't change the settings. Older versions had an annoying gong sound but newer ones no longer use it. To be fair, everyone else apparently hated the gong, but I liked having it to pester me into picking up my phone to use it. In any event, sounds are not a setting I can figure out how to change (and I'm fairly technology-literate). Otherwise this app is amazing! I can live with its limitations. I use a different app to make annoying chimes for me at the right times and I'm content.

Best mood tracker I've used. I've tried several mood tracker apps, and this is by far my favorite. It is simple and straightforward and gives me exactly what I need. I love being able to see the mood reports/history in graphical form and in chart form. I also like being able to write notes each time I update my mood. That's a key feature as well: being able to update your mood as many times per day as you like! Other mood trackers have a set and limited number per day. That just doesn't work when you need to track for bipolar or anxiety, for example. This is perfect when your mood fluctuates over the course of the day.

Helps a lot.. I enjoy this app. It helps me be more conscious of my mood so I can help boost it later on.

Stopped giving notifications. Great app, but it doesn’t give notifications anymore no matter what I try.

Ok. Poor support.. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app to get the Apple Watch app to work. The support department was completely useless with the issue. So far so good with the app’s other functionality.

It's great to know!. I love using this app because knowing my moods helps me understand my patterns and plan for my ups and downs.

This does the job…. … If you're better trying to understand how what you do affects how you feel. Simple to give input, Regular reminders to keep you engaged. You can track any factor you want to using tags. If you want to track how many hours you slept you can do #sleep: 7, Then all you have to do is tap on that # and it will show you every time you've ever used it in a custom bargraph. I recommend making a standard list of things you'd like to keep track of, say, in the morning and at night. Rate your mood and then paste it in to the description, modifying as necessary. Sounds complicated but it's really not. Remember, the goal is not to produce another onerous bookkeeping task, but simply to understand better how what you do affects how you feel. Tags are very flexible and you'll end up using the ones that you really need to use.

awesome. completely awesome! love everything! the ONLY reason why i gave four stars is because the app settings are not backed up along with the log. still awesome!! 😸

Nothing but good things to say!!. I haven't found a better way to express my feelings. I'm so ecstatic to have found this app, it's better than everything I've tried. It truly shows how low my moods were in the beginning, but after I began using the app, my moods increased drastically, because I was venting my feelings in a healthy way, and I feel overall so much better. If you are on the edge about the commitment of the app, it can send you reminders and ask how you are feeling, even if I don't log when it asks me, it's just nice to have a check in with myself to see how I am really feeling. If you are thinking about getting the app, just get it. It's free, and it's amazing. There is nothing bad about it, it's completely customizable to how you want to express your moods, and it's so easy to use, if you are worried about people finding your journal entries, you can put a password on them, so only you can get in, I have no complaints, everything about it is amazing, this app is for everyone. Couldn't be happier with it!

Very helpful and easy to use.. I love the e port option and the sorting by tags.
