Annoying app at best. Required to sign in No Apple Pay Clunky operation No way to cancel your parking if leaving early so the app continues to annoy

Just let me quickly put in some change!. Why do I have to give all this data to dsm pigs?

Visiting? Don’t bother. Stayed four days and never got to legally park my car. The app does not work. Some locations didn’t take our coins. Same group that does the bicycle rentals??? Tried to rent bikes three times which never worked either.

Glitchy. The app takes forever and is completely glitchy. I couldn’t update my credit card expiration date, I couldn’t even add another credit card to be able to park and almost missed an appointment downtown trying to mess with it. The chat feature just spins and is absolutely no help at all.

Simple but lacks useful feature. The app is easy to use and very straightforward. However, I wish there was a way to cancel the meter if I have to move spots or leave early. Wasted my money.

Lousy !!!!!!!!!. Lousy app that no city employees seem to care enough about to improve, despite the widespread grievances and complaints. Locating your parking meter is a joke. Want to add time to your meter? NOPE. It won’t let you. Instead, you have to WAIT until the time expires and hope you don’t get a ticket while you’re scrambling to put more time on it using this slow dreadful app! This app needs attention desperately!

“Uh oh! Try again later!”. I’ve tried updating my payment methods multiple times on different days) and each time I get a message that it won’t work and that I should try again later. I removed my expired card easily, but adding an updated card cannot happen. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the app, and that didn’t work either. Prior to this, the app worked well.

App is terrible. The app updates all the time and doesn’t save payment information. Couldn’t remember my password and tried to reset it. Reset email never arrived. Tried to delete and reinstall the app. Still didn’t work. Total garbage.

An app to pay to park that won't let you pay. The great thing is this app says it basically takes all payments. then you go to pay and it says payment form not accepted under every option, every card, every payment app I can possibly try.

Unusable Update. I have no idea who on gods green earth decided to make these horrific changes but now the app is unusable. It worked perfectly fine before. Fix it.

Wouldn’t let me. Wouldn’t let me pay for my parking spot in the app. So I removed my payment method and re-added it and it still wouldn’t let me pay. When I went to the pay box, I used the same payment method at the box and everything worked fine.

It was fine.. It was fine. The location thing never worked, but if you entered the number, it was fine. However, I just opened it for the first time in a few months and it made me create a new account?? And because of that, I had to re-enter ALL of my info - AND it won’t do Apple Pay anymore. I was trying to park for under 5 minutes - just long enough to run into a store to pick up an ordered item. It took longer to get the app up and running again! No wonder so many people use the dumb kiosks.

PAYMENT METHODS NEVER AVAILABLR. This app is terrible. If this is going to be implemented downtown then there needs to be a reliable way to pay. The parking hub is not always close by so an app would be perfect if it worked properly. The “Apple Pay” option is never available and whenever I try to add a card the page opens up but is blank so I can’t enter anything. It’s setting people up for parking tickets and is ridiculous. Might I just add - the current parking rates are just crazzzy.

does not work. downloaded app - attempted to pay using apple pay - did not accept - closed opened again - same. WOT. Walked to kiosk paid in 15s using apple pay. Junk. Fire these clowns. I use many parking apps. They work. This. Not.

Hassle. This app is more hassle than it’s worth, why on earth do I have to enter my license plate details and create an account with all I want to do is pay for a parking space? The only reason I downloaded this is because half of the parking pay stations don’t work only to be met by a very difficult to use app with complicated password requirements, a mandatory account creation, requiring details of my vehicle when all I want to do is pay for a parking space. I think I’ll risk getting a ticket instead.

Can’t change my credit.. Love the ease of paying for my parking, but unable to delete out my expired credit card. There is no reason I shouldn’t be able to manage my own payments!

Wastes so much time and is non-functional. This is my first time using the app and it is such a slow process! Rather than just pay the bill for parking, it takes 15 minutes to find your space (and the “locate me” part of the app is completely worthless and non-functional), create a login, load a credit card, load your vehicle information… meanwhile the place you try to get to will be closed by the time you can FINALLY pay for parking. They would be better off using coin parking and it would make for a faster turnaround for others wanting to park in congested/popular areas, and would also mean potential for more money to the businesses in that area if there is a faster turnaround of customers.

Why the bad reviews?. I think this app is simple and easy to use. Most parking apps require you to make an account and add your vehicle for future parking, so not sure why people are upset about that. I think if they wanted to improve it, maybe prompt a pop up to add a vehicle and payment when you sign up or sign in if you have not done so. This avoids the hassle later if you are new. But overall, the app is super simple and user friendly. Great user experience and is not over complicated to use.

Great base, no spots show. As title says, app is easy to navigate and resembles ParkMSP identically. No spots show up available, but hopeful this updates as locations are added.

Abysmal. Looking to quickly park and take care of something in Des Moines? Well don’t download this terrible excuse for a parking app. It’s basically a re-skinned version of ParkMobile, but with less capability. Not only do I have to create an entirely new account JUST for this app, but I then have to add my cards - completely manually - all over again. Not autofill function allowed. ParkMobile lets you use Apple Pay; this app, for whatever reason, does not. Couple all of that with local terminals that either barely work or are next to homeless folk setups, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for a parking ticket. Whoever thought up this plan needs voted out. Thanks

Unable to add payment method. I like the idea of the app but it’s not allowing me to use PayPal or Apple Pay and it’s impossible to add another payment method so I’m forced to park in a ramp somewhere.

Doesn’t work at all. Literally can’t create a password that this app will accept. I removed special characters and followed all of the advertised requirements, but it doesn’t work. It also can’t find any parking spots in the DSM area (but lots in other cities!). A one star review seems too charitable.

Terrible support. I needed to change one of my payment methods. There’s no way to do that. You can have 2 credit cards, but you can’t change or delete them once entered. You also have to jump through tremendous hoops to delete your account. Hate the user experience of this app!

Love this app - don’t listen to past reviews. I don’t normally write reviews, but I was SUPER confused why people were rating this app so low. It’s awesome and super convenient. You can add the minimum amount of time and then tell the app to give you a reminder of __(you can choose)__ mins before your time expires. Then, if you’re still waiting wherever you are (like in a long lineup in a waiting room), you can add more time in small increments. There’s even a nice countdown timer on your Lock Screen (at least on an iPhone 13) that tells you how much time is left. Looking through the reviews, it sounds like most of the issues happened over a year ago and many are certainly fixed now (e.g. no history - they now have a convenient history tab right in plain sight). The other main issue seems to be that people don’t like to have to sign up for an account to park there once. That’s to be expected from designated parking spots run through an app, so I don’t see it as an issue. The one thing that I would say could be improved is if they had the ability to cancel the remaining time in the spot if you put in too much time so that other people could use the spot. I didn’t realize when first using the app that it had the really convenient feature of reminding you when your time was up so that you could add more time, so I put 3 hours on the spot and then ended up leaving after about 30 mins, which locked my spot for 2h30 mins, and I couldn’t end my time there. I’m not saying that I should be reimbursed for the time because it was my bad, but it would have been nice to free up the space for anyone else to use it (I’m presuming that the space is locked to my car given that the time is attached to my specific car in that spot). Anyway, it’s a really nice app, highly recommend. I sound like I work for the developers with this review, but I can assure you that I don’t lol. Hope this helps.

Makes you pay minimum $25. In order to upload a new debit card to the app, you have to pay between $25-$75 up front. Ridiculous.

Password issues. Evidently of all the many requirements for your password, one is the it *cannot* contain (or at least start with) a parenthesis symbol which took me a while to figure out. Otherwise it seems to work ok.

Laughable. Whoever developed this app should bow out of software dev. This app is beyond glitchy, the API consistently crashes or is slow to the point it’s unusable, half the time it doesn’t even work. Not to mention, you can’t extend your time with a different card. I was using up the remainder of a visa gift card and it wouldn’t let me extend it with my actual card. Pathetic.

Can’t add Payment method. Can’t add payment method on the app which defeats the purpose of even having an app for convenience in the first place.

Can’t find history. My history stopped showing for parked cars. This means if I miss extending while the parking meter is active then I can’t find the spot and renew my spot. As of today July 6 the last history showing is for June 24th. I parked and renewed 3 times today and none of them showed.

Can’t delete or change credit card. Interesting somebody reported this issue on January (11 months ago) and issue hasn’t been resolved. How come?

Not tourist friendly. Visiting from out of town and Meter wasn’t working, so I spent about 10 minutes standing at my car having to download the app, create an account, dig for my card to input credit card info since Apple Pay wouldn’t work. (I also had to input the amount of time I wanted to pay for 4 separate times). It’s a cumbersome process for those visiting and trying to park quickly.

ParkDSM is trash. Hot. Garbage. The app rarely works. It regularly deletes my car and payment method. Today I’m trying to add my car and payment method back and it won’t accept either. Using a payment app should be easy, not a PIA. Would gladly take the old meter system back at this point.

Great app!. I can’t believe all of the negative reviews for this app. Has to be user error. I’ve used this app literally once or twice a week for the past two years and have never had an issue. So very easy to use. Highly recommend.

Horrible app. This app is way more complicated than it should be. Why can I not just pay with my phone. Why can i not scan the spot i am in to pay. So many issues that it makes me want to avoid coming downtown

Inconvenience and not smooth. Clunky and dumb app. Either tells you that the spot is not open or cancels it.

Can't add a card. Apple Pay was set as the default payment, but whenever I tried to pay for a parking, it would say payment method not supported. I tried to add a credit card too, even tried it with two different cards, none of it worked. It just said that it had trouble adding card. What is the point of this app if I can't pay for parking? Turned to download the other parking app which works completely fine.

DON’T USE, IT WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. I originally purchased a 2 hour time slot. I was only parked for 45 min, but thought someone else could use the time if they wanted to. After driving home, I checked to see if the time had run out, but there was still over 2 hours and thought funny. It wasn’t until later in the evening when it still said I had 2 hours left that I knew something was going on. I checked my email and the stupid app kept charging me for parking! There was no way to stop the meter until it ran out of time, but the app kept adding time and charging me for it without my consent. I had to turn off the card I was using for it to hopefully stop.

20% increase in parking payment on app.. If you try and download the app you'll be paying 20% more than if you were to just pay on the street ?

App is ok setup is inconvenient. Would be nice if setup was a little bit speedier. Not convenient for the initial install. Password requirements were a little odd. Hopeful it will go more smoothly now that the initial steps are done.

I can park in Minneapolis but not DSM. Our city seems incapable of simply setting up an app that allows you to pay through your phone or even see spots that are allegedly up and running. I hope that this problem is known but based off of the local news reports, it seems the city thinks that everything is great. I can tell you from trying this many times over a long period of time, everything is not great. That is, unless you want to park literally anywhere but DSM.

I can’t delete or add a credit card?!?!. I really like paying for parking on the app and not needing to have change on me. What I don’t like is you are only allowed to enter two credit cards and it is virtually impossible to remove or add cards once you have two on the app. I have several reasons I park- personal, work, and my small business. I like to keep those charges on different accounts, so a limit of two cards is a problem. Also, I had to cancel my whole account and start a new one in order to remove a card and upload another one. If there is a simple way to change a card out on the app, it is not intuitive.

Can’t Update Credit Cards. My app has an expired card but the function to update cards does not work. Also the Apple Pay and PayPal function does not work.

Although it's called Park DSM, no DSM spots show up. Can't manage to use this at all, search doesn't show the DSM spots either by number or location. Useless.

The worst. Not only did this app make paying for parking a convoluted nightmare, I didn’t even park because it wants me to give them my card information. I think not. Then I go to ask them to cancel my account and they want even more info than they wanted to open it. A joke. Not that I had much reason to park downtown anyway, but I definitely won’t be now. Why the heck are we playing Guinea pigs to your stupid idea of an “easier” way to pay. Jesus, my quarters worked just fine.

Literally useless. I’m standing next to a parking space, which the app can’t find by my location, and searching by zone number produced results that covered literally 2000 miles but not the street or even city in which I stood before my parked vehicle. Literally completely and utterly useless.

Scam parking. The app doesn’t let me pay in advance for parking. It is biggest scam because city will issue fine, no matter if you did perfect

P.O.S.. Been using it fine until two weeks ago. Kicked out my account. No help from the city. No help from the app. Gives you option to use google. Network error. Des Moines made a genius decision to give all responsibility to AN APP COMPANY THAT DOESNT HELP WHEN THE APP DOES NOT WORK. Do you know how many people just don’t want to come downtown anymore because they find this genius system too much they’d rather get a ticket or not pay? GENIUSES

Garbage. This app is garbage. Tried using it to Park on the street around Wells Fargo Arena. Every payment method you try to use it will decline, and then for fun it will suspend your account. All while price gouging on parking at any parking ramp within any usable distance. Decided it was not worth going to the event.

awful. what’s the point in entering our plate & info when the meter maids don’t bother to check and will write tickets based on 1/5 of your bumper being “over the line”. When parking streets typically get filled in from front to back… so if everyone is off by an inch there is no choice. also, inconvenient to adjust time

Won’t let me add a payment method. App is useless without a payment method and it won’t allow me to add one. Tried uninstalling and re adding but still get an error. Tried logging out and creating a new account but it says network error
