Old version was better!. It’s a great game but it became so boring with the latest update! Before you: -Had 30 seconds to go through as many rounds as you can -Earned some extra seconds if you completed first couple of rounds super fast -Were not penalised for wrong letter combinations (let’s say if you wanted to make word “love” but had accidentally made “loev”) Now you: -Only have 5 rounds to go through -Do not earn extra seconds -Get penalised for wrong words/combinations The game totally lacks element of excitement now! Before you were eager to see your and opponent’s final score and see how was able to get through more rounds and words. Now you are just worried of accidentally tapping wrong letters and lower your score because of penalties. You also know there’s only 5 levels max, so there is no point of rushing.. I used to play every day non-stop when I had free time, but now I don’t even feel like playing!!

WordStar. This is a great game and you really do earn money!

Run! Rigged to force losses.. I love this game. I would play all day. However, they choose which players are matched and which games they play. So, although I have 50 games pending, I’ve gone 24+ hours without being matched and am collecting refunds for games unmatched since last week. Meanwhile, players at the top of the leaderboard have played and won more than 100 games. I have games in queue from a week ago. They claim to match players based on skill. Untrue because I have played and beaten most of the players at the top of the leaderboard. What they’re doing is matching players to lose. They make me play one player almost 90% of the time. Tournament winners should be the best players in randomly matched games. Anything else is rigged. If they want to match players of equal skill level, they need tournaments for each level. We spent more than 6 months complaining that we were playing mismatched games and begging for refunds before they fixed that bug. I stuck with them, winning, and cashing out, topping the leader board. Odd that I can’t even play now.

New Update. This new update is stupid and makes the game less competitive

Best Word Game Out There. I have played almost every word game imaginable. This is my favorite by far. That they’re attached to Skillz is definitely a olus.

Update only works on certain accounts. Time bonus limit update is only working on some accounts, not all. I know this to be a fact because I watched someone else play at the same time. So some people are winning all the time because they’re not limited. I was forced to update, but this other person wasn’t, maybe because of a different OS. Either way, it’s not a fair match unless everyone is updated.

I really like it!. This app is really fun for people who like games like Scrabble or Boggle. I like that I don’t have to spend a lot to play, and the competition does seem very fair. If I just wanna play without betting I can do that too, which is nice since I really like word games like this. Definitely recommend!!

Older Version Was Much Better. The old version that allowed you to play as many rounds as possible was a significantly better game. It really pushed you to quickly enter words faster and faster, and limiting it to only 5 rounds is so boring; there really is no point in going fast anymore.

Fun. If you love words, this game is a great way to exercise your brain.

Time limitations are too fast. The words are easy, but the time crunch is always against you.

I miss what it used to be. This game used to be fantastic before that asinine update from yesterday got installed! I wish someone from this game could get rid of it and convert this game to how it used to be.

The improvements are awesome!. The improvements are awesome 👏 😎. If you left the game, come back! It really tests your skill now. You need to practice to improve and master the game. And playing for money on Skillz is such a rush. I am having so much fun and look forward to playing each day.

Fun Game. The more I play the more I like the game. Very addictive.

Fun but not a fair match. The game is really fun, but has a couple of issues. I have played about 20 games. I win most of the practice games, and seem to be within an expected point spread with my opponent - winning or losing by a few hundred to five or ten thousand. However, venture into the cash games and I get slaughtered. My opponent in the last game I played prior to giving this review beat me 120k to my 62k. Someone needs to check the algorithm. This happened five times. The fun for me is in the cash games so I’m going to have to come back to this one when I have more money to burn. It’s too tight at the moment to see if it equals out the more I play. The second issue may be the reason my opponent was able to beat me so handily. The puzzles began to repeat themselves even though I have only played a few. Someone who has played for several days might just have had a chance to memorize them all.

Great game to pass the time. A game made for competitors! And fair!!! Thank you. So far the only problem that I’ve had is not paying attention to my battery

Cash Winnings Stay Ahead. The Bonus cash is a little hard to earn and takes some patience to get enough to get ahead with, but once i did I’ve stayed ahead! The only game so far that i win enough cash on to withdraw my own funds. Love it! Enjoy!

Fun game but flawed opponent matching. It’s truly a shame that the game developers of this game chose Skillz to host their game. The app is great but the opponent matching is problematic —even when you’re completely outskilled, matches are paired nonstop against the same player with a track record of winning against you. Over 25 consecutive matches against the SAME player is nothing short of harassment. Unfortunately, Skillz “customer support” is the absolute worst and consists of those who only know how to copy and paste the same unhelpful answers. They really ought to review the facts—supported by data—and admit to the fact that their “algorithmic matching— is completely flawed. Skillz should be audited by a third party as they are far too negligent and unwilling to review the facts.

Drops in the middle playing, but love the game. Needs bugs worked out and hoping more players join. I love word games and this is the fourth Skillz supported game I play for money!

Used to be fun. The latest update has made this into a completely different game. You used to get through as many rounds as possible in 30 seconds + bonus time. Now it’s 5 rounds for everyone so it’s all about being super careful and scores are all very close. Bring back the old version!
