Great App!. I just downloaded app and was able to stack over 200 files. This is pretty groundbreaking for an Ipad app. I am impressed that it can handle raw files. It would be nice to have a ‘select all’ option if the files are in one folder. Also, I did not see a ‘clear all’ option. Thank you for this app. I will be using it often for star trails photos and timelapse.

Simple to use and great results. I have been collecting Star-stacking apps for years. They are often complex, quirky and give mixed results. (They might give great results but I've never been able to figure out how to use them) Some have been around for years but don't run on Apple Silicon. Here's an app that's reasonably priced, gives great results and is easy to use. The bonus is that is runs on Apple Silicon Macs, iPads and iPhones. Great combination. I am very happy with this app. Well done.

Where has THIS been all my (picture taking) life?. So I’ve been using StarStax most of my star trail taking years. I happen to be in Ireland, next door to the most amazing ruins of a Franciscan Friary. The clouds actually went away, rare for Ireland, so I grabbed my camera and set it up for a couple hours to shoot star trails, thinking I’d have to wait to get home to stack them all together. Then I saw this app, and it’s AWESOME! Love the JPEG and MOV options and I’ve been playing around with different sets of images for the past few days. Way to go creating this app, and well worth the reasonable cost. Gone are the days I have to lug my laptop around to see the payoff of a long night of picture taking…thanks!

Is a real app. I was a little worry about the app, just 2 reviews at the moment of this one (08/30/21) . The app is good. I’m trying to push myself to get at better at photography as possible thru my phone and the stacking was a problem for me. I saw the app a week ago but the moon was to bright to take photos so I wait until the moon was dimmer; bought the app ans try right away. The options are simple and the process of stacking is amazing, you can see how your photography is getting form. I hope the developer get more support so he can upgrade this app. Good job and thanks.

Won't work on my MacBook Pro. I try to add images and it immediately crashes on my MacBook Pro, iOS Sonoma 14.0.

Crashes. The app instantly crashes instantly when I try to render video using the 'individual' mode, which is the mode I was interested in. I'm using 75 high resolution .tiff files. I tried changing all the other settings. I tried only selecting a few images.. it still crashes the app immediately. Be happy to change my review if we can figure it out! Cheers

Really cool app. Super easy to use and love the trail options and the option to create a short star trail video. Overall really happy that I got this app. I am using the GoPro 10 to take the night photos.

Do it!!!. I wasn’t expecting much, but this app blew me away! Worth much more than $2.

A gem of a program. The Star Stacker app is simple, intuitive, and basic--just what I wanted as an amateur photographer and star gazer--but the results are spectacular! There are 3 settings options and 2 movie options, and easy output into jpeg, tiff, and mov files. I considered buying a program that is more expensive because I believe in "you get what you pay for," but this is the exception that proves the rule. No need to pay more than the $1.99 for this gem of a program!

Great end results— better import options?. This app is fantastic, and produced great results. Biggest quality of life request would allowing imports from the Files app! Because stacking sometimes uses hundreds of photos, importing these to the camera roll gets very messy & tedious. Otherwise, great work!

4 bucks for it not to work. It crashes the minute I start to ask it to stack. I hate paying for things that don’t work

Wow!. I’m an amateurish photographer self teaching myself Astrophotography. I took my first shot at star trails last night and spent all day trying to figure out how to stack my +440 images without crashing my computer. This app did it all AND keeps the file raw as well as provides either stitched together movie or individual photos for a nice time lapse. Wish I found this app sooner! Worth way more than $2.99 in my opinion! Great job creating a simple app that is easy to navigate, not complicated to understand and as a result that is incredibly easy to use!

meh. it works but there are free versions out there that do the same job plus some more options

Just Amazing. I got this app yesterday when I figured out how to do a star trail. I am so happy I got this! I used Night Lapse Photo from my GoPro and it was the easiest thing to do on my iPad. Really enjoyed the photos being stacked and seeing the progression. I am so happy with this app I highly recommend!!

can't select photos. Follow directions very carefully. I didn't see this: "For best results, allow access to all photos. If you allow access to specific photos, you must only select these same photos from the photo picker." I selected "specific photos" bu I can't actually select ANY photos now and there appears to be no way to go back and select "all photos". And "contact me" doesn't work to ask for help. The only way I can see around this is to delete the app and pay for it again. Why even have the "specific photos" option if it doesn't work?

Thank you. I don’t like paying for apps. I rarely do. Tonight I got this one, and I don’t regret it. Easily stacked 130 images, and result makes me want to get out there and take more pictures. To the creators of this app, thank you!

Perfect. I needed something I could run on my phone and iPad and this is a perfect app, simple to operate and navigate, I ran raw files with out issue Love it

Nope.. Too junior in its abilities. Does not come close to Photoshop or even Lightroom. Also crashes - a lot. Wish I could get my money back.
