Underwhelming. Several years too late. This game feels very basic, visually overloaded, and not well thought out. Was hoping it would be like the bomberman party game on the Nintendo switch but was disappointed. This feels like a release that would have come out several years ago because it lacks so much of the innovation, graphics, and replayability that current games have. Good features though. Practice mode is well thought out so you can practice anything. Interesting that bomb placement sounds are synced to the music. But this game leaves a lot to be desired.

Cannot create a room for 3 or 4. Creating a room for 3 or 4 wont allow my friends to join they just wait until it says cant connect but it works if we play a room of two.

Chaos. Really fun, great stuff full of amazing music and terrific aesthetics. Touch screen controls can use some work but I highly recommend anyone out there to play with a controller to avoid slippery accidents. Lots going on during a game, visually, at least, and it gets pretty chaotic sometime. But I kinda love that messy feel—no one has an advantage, do they?

Online is all BOTS. I’ve been playing this game for a while now since it’s release. While it’s still a fun game to play I’ve noticed that nearly all of my online matches have been with bots. It’s the same exact names that keep popping up from these bots no matter the time of day, and those names never show in the recent players list in the Game Center settings. I’ve maxed out the number of consecutive wins to 99 due to nearly all-bot online gameplay. 😂

Controls make the game almost unplayable. I was so excited to see Bomberman coming to Apple Arcade, but after playing for about 15 minutes, I immediately deleted it. The controls are horrendous and completely ruin the experience. Trying to move the character around is so frustrating that you’ll want to throw your phone or iPad across the room. For a game built on timing, the controls put you at a frustrating disadvantage.

Was super excited. I was stoked when I saw this in the store. Downloaded it and couldn’t believe how horrible the controls were. I deleted and downloaded again in hopes it was a fluke it glitch. It’s not. The controls are absolutely garbage

Lofi Beats To Play Bomberman To.. This game SLAPS! The music slaps. The gameplay slaps. Heck even the fact that it’s all based on music is amazing. Well the controls are a bit out of wack but I don’t really mind that. Overall great game!

One of the worst titles on arcade and that saying something. I know most arcade offerings are embarrassing piles of trash but this is another level altogether. Boring gameplay, middling graphics, terrible controls. Multiplayer for some reason… though in this context, it could be what passes for ai and no one would know..

Unplayable. The virtual joystick needs to be pushed all the way to the edge of the outer circle before bomberman even begins to move. This means you have to move your finger pretty far across the screen to move. Because of this, your own hand is blocking about a third of the screen while you play. Also, the slow response time of the joystick coupled with the unnecessary 8 way directional input means you will spend most of the round getting stuck on walls. This is too bad because bomber man is a great series with solid mechanic. In 34 years, this is the only bad bomberman game i have played.

Pretty good, netcode could use some work though.. Ive been playing the game for a while now and for the most part there’s nothing wrong with it. The controls are the same as they have always been, so, gameplay wise there are no issues. However one big problem I have with this game is the netcode. it seems this is a common fad among the modern Konami Bomberman games, such as Super Bomberman R and Super Bomberman R Online. I wouldn't say it’s terrible, though there have been many instances when i get disconnected from an online game, or go through long load times. I haven't done anything with friend battle yet, so I don’t know how well that works, i'm assuming it’s similar to regular quickplay. So, final thoughts? It really isn't bad, if you like modern Bomberman then you will like this. all it needs is a few improvements, again, mostly for its online modes.

Great game, but could be better. I am amazed that from the very start, this game is so good. I expected bugs and glitches, but I found none. However, this game, as I said, could be better. For example, it is very annoying that even if you are only a tiny bit facing an obstacle, you cannot move forward. Also, you should add an ability to manually change the color of the character, and you should also add many colors of characters. My final complaint is the background. I have only played with AI, and the background colors and music distracts me from the real game. Overall, this is a great game, but there are a few things keeping the game from being perfect.

Great Game, however❗️. Pros: I’m a Bomberman fan. With that said the graphics and game play gets 5 stars. I believe they did the best with the controls. At the start I did not like the accuracy but you learn to adjust and it’s not so bad. Very Addicting! Contras: I’M disappointed with the online part of this game. I’ve had a winning streak up to 51 wins in a row and didn’t realize that many of my games played was with Bots and the names doesn’t change and the same players/ bots are present 24hr around the clock. Big bummer! I believe they created bots to fulfill the online game function, however they could at least create stronger bots and other names. And even on offline mode, they could use a harder game mode, such as Extra Hard , Extreme Hard, Etc. Contra #2: A regular game play mode would be nice. The music and sometimes the background make it unpleasant to play. To be honest I turned the music off completely and it makes it way better to play. Other than that it’s great, it’s not worth paying if not many people are online or if they don’t upgrade their online Bots. Hoping things work out for this game in the future. 🎶🤯🎵🥰. I like the gaming experience… but I LOVE the meticulousness put into the audio experience- i like visuals, but its me coming aware of the song playing on the menu & connecting it to the subtle difference in instrumentals within certain menu subsets

Fun game but awful controls. The game brings back memories of the original bomberman with the exception of the weird rave music and videos in the background. I think the game should have a toggle to turn off the weird videos. The game moves too fast for touch controls. You’ll end up passing the point where you needed to turn and instead you’ll blow yourself up.

Hard to see. I was so excited when I saw this game. I subscribed to Apple Arcade because of it. I was and am disappointed though. It is so hard to see what’s going on with all the flashing lights.

Load plz. Great non-Nintendo Switch fun but slow loading on no school days

WAY TOO FLASHY I couldn’t get through the first match. So much of this game is confusing. I hate the rave music, I HATE the music videos going on in the background it distracts way too much from the game play and like everyone else, I agree it was tough using the controls. Aclassic bomberman without all the bells and whistles would be much appreciated!

Excited for this release. The kids and I were super excited for this release. The graphics and music is engaging however we were disappointed that we could not play locally on our appletv in multiplayer mode. It seems to require multiple devices or online for multiplayer mode.

Want to love this game. I use to love playing this game on the Super Nintendo as a kid so I immediately downloaded it when I saw it was available on Apple Arcade. The graphics are cool and the menus are slick. I like the design choices for the game making it basically a music video. Unfortunately, it’s absolute chaos. Dimming the background videos from the main menu isn’t enough. I want to turn them off. The music is fun, the dance themes used in the game are very creative. But stop the madness. The strategy is lost in all the chaos. You took a great game and almost killed it. Tone it down.

Cool idea but misses. The first big thing is the controls are surprisingly difficult. You can mess around with them but they aren’t great. There isn’t any controller support either so there aren’t alternatives for it. The other thing is there is a lot going on the screen. It’s hard to tell what’s the background effects or bomb effects at times. There is just a lot going on. I use to love bomberman on the game boy and I was excited to play it again, but this isn’t it for me.

Levels. Big fan of bomberman land but can we get some levels where I won’t get a seizure from the game? Or can it be toned down a bit? Too much is going on in the screen, some simpler levels would be great!

What even is this?. I’m a fan of the classic bomberman and I was excited to download this game- but what in the world is the music and the videos?! It’s distracting, to say the least. It’s like a panic attack being blasted at you while you’re trying to play a game. No option to do literally anything else besides watch it and deal with it. (There’s a dimming option but it didn’t help matters a whole lot.) Got a headache before I could finish the first round and deleted it right away. If you want to play Bomberman while the visual equivalent of a saturated timelapse of NYC Times Square is blasted in your face, then this game is for you. Otherwise, it’s a hard pass.

Awesome beginning, but a rocky start. I already love it. I enjoy the music and small touches done to the main menu, and how just Calm it feels in the menu. However, it misses the mark when it comes to controls. The joypad is strange, and would better be exchanged with a D-pad like controller. There should also be an option to be able to be able to switch between the controller types too, for convenience. I hope to see this game grow and be better!

Ooooookaaaaayyy. I love😍 bomber man! Since this one is the newest one may assume it is the best, 🤔right? However this is sadly not the case😒😔. I guess the whole sensory-overload-music-video-in-the-background😵‍💫😵‍💫 vibe is what really gets under my skin. The menu animation🤌🤌 is really fun and inviting! Love that part so much!! However I (and probably the rest of the US 🇺🇸 BM fanbase) would want something more like… OH!😃💡a remake of the Game Cube Bomberman game!!! Overall, if you (reader) have never played a BM game this is fine, you know what? IT’S GOOD!✨✨ Buuut it’s not the end all, be all Bomberman. To the devs, maybe (I honestly don’t know) this game is just KILLING IT in… Japan 🇯🇵 or… whatever, HOWEVER something less… seizure inducing would be MUCH better accepted in the US mobile gaming market. Most likely other BM fans out there have already said this in the reviews and if so, LISTEN TO THEM!! I honestly😇 do enjoy this game’s general concept gameplay and feel but it’s very grind-y and the online is almost entirely bots 🤖. Remember, the customer is always right, right?

Weird controls but not enough action to play online ever he. I love Bomberman from console. This captures most of what still works for that. They surely had hope people will eat this up, but so far it’s been weeks & I haven’t found a single online match partner yet, which seems strange to require playing online a certain amount to depend on other users existing to unlock more of the game Controls: except for bomb kick, none of the functional abilities really work in game

Okaayyyy. It’s ok exp but🍑 it’s missing something I think it needs more clothing👕 because then there should be more fabric and exp to the game and I hope to see that in the future

Terrible. Horrendous controls. Always getting stuck. This version is not ready for prime time. It plays like an alpha. So much needs fixed it would take a book to explain it all.

Unplayable. After the tutorial there is no actual game to play just weird menus and a mission thing that doesn’t lead to actually playing what a tease because I love older bomberman games

Why is the Magic Keyboard not supported on iPad?. It would make controls SO much better. I can even see keyboard controls in the settings, but it just doesn’t work.

Stuck in a black screen with a "0 / 100" caption. It doesn't load on my Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019 iMac. It shows Apple Arcade logo, then it shows Konami logo (red background), then it shows a black screen with a caption in the bottom of the screen "0 / 100". I let it be for an hour and nothing changed.

I love Bomberman, but not like this. I was so excited to see this game drop. I love the whole Bomberman genre. I want this to be my favorite app. It misses the mark. Game board uses about 1/4 of the screen on my iPad, with active motion graphics behind it. Which you cannot disable, even though they acknowledge up front this could cause seizures. The controls are inconsistent. Particularly the D pad. Way too easy to miss your turn. Three stars for now, but solely due to the genre, and a hope for improvements in display and function soon.

Must play!. I think this is the best game I played Apple Arcade so far

Not the Bomberman I envisioned. As an avid fan of Bomberman, I was so excited to see this game being released. Before, I had to resort to knockoff games from the App Store (that were pretty lacking in visuals) just to scratch that itch. However, after initially being wowed by the new game mechanics and art style, I was quickly disappointed by two things: 1. A sense of progression. The level-up system is based on quests such as “place 20 bombs” or tutorial things such as “change your practice settings”. I wish there was exp to be won through games and a meaning to aim for first place. 2. The customization factors are a bit lacking. I know the colors are true to the original characters, but not having the ability to add little personal quirks like a hat or clothes outside of the body color is a bit disappointing. Overall, appreciate the developers for trying to come up with a new approach to the classic gameplay (different song-mode settings), but it wasn’t enough to keep me engrossed for more than a few rounds of gameplay.

Dissapointed. They could have made it like the original game with levels instead had to make online only or vs computer, that’s not what bomber man is very disappointed

Classic ruined by overbearing graphics. Bomberman is an action-packed, FUN party game that has now been ruined with obnoxious background graphics that at very best do nothing for the experience. Please bring a classic mode that removes all the flashy junk you’ve added. Old school bomberman had a great single-player story game in addition to the fast-paced multiplayer, you should’ve spent your time building that rather than glitchy frenetic gimmicks.

Classic & Priceless. I grew up with this game and was a HUGE Fan, now it’s made it back into my life. Honestly easier on a phone and all around better. I’ll keep my Apple Arcade subscription just for this honestly.

Good gameplay, flashing lights too distracting. The flashing lights are completely egregious, don’t add anything to the game, and make it inaccessible to anybody with vision sensitivities. I hope they will allow players to disable these.

Not great. Controls stink…even after you customize them. Menus are confusing.

Bomberman and Chill. The main menu has a nice chill vibe with the menu music, but ingame turns into a rave. You obviously need a Retro mode/theme in another mode/theme that’s not distracting. Touchscreen controls are bad. I uninstalled but I’ll probably check back in a few months. This needs work but could be really good.

Louie is nowhere to be found. REALLY enjoyed playing this game. Until I got to level 7 and spent several days trying to find Louie to ride. Wish it could refresh. My progression is completely halted so idk about it.

Online Play is Fake. Nearly all matches in online mode are supplemented with bots. And not hard bots either. 22 straight wins. What a joke.

Missions?. So it shows the missions but there’s no apparent way to start a mission. It’s really hard to keep track of your character in vs the AI. There’s just to much happening, you should add a simple mode where the level doesn't change as much. This is kinda a bomber man on acid trip.

Finally Bomberman on iPad. Waited for this for many years. I like the music twist.

Friend battle search is endless please fix.. Other than that you should really add like a music player so that you could listen to the music or turn it off

Barely playable on iPhone. I was so excited to see bomberman released to iOS, but deleted it within 3 days. Everything seems kind of cute and well made except the controls. Unusable with the onscreen controls. I will try the AppleTV version with a real game controller and hope for the best, but this is honestly the biggest letdown I’ve had so far on Apple Arcade.

Great take on an all time classic. Very refreshing and fun take on one of the most classic old school games. Fast paced, pretty solid controls and good power ups to make it interesting. The art is awesome and the music goes well with the game.

Why the dynamic backgrounds. There is no reason for the dynamic backgrounds. It makes it so hard to focus on the game. Just remove them and align the game play graphics to the old bomberman. If the dev. would do this it would be an amazing game.

New bomberman!. I’m happy to see a new bomberman but this is just not it for me. The gameplay is too fast. The background video needs to be disabled not lowered in brightness.

Terrible joypad design. this game only allows four directional movement, why is there a 360 joypad? and why can't you remove it from the screen? the thing is too huge and blocks vision. the developers didnt think it through. also there shouldnt be a button for the bomb, simply just tap the screen to place a bomb. the kick, punch, and glove buttons are the only buttons that should be on the screen. I should be paid for these amazing ideas. 🤦‍♂️

Game doesn't start. Cant play the game it stuck in the loading screen. Ios16

Nostalgic but no save game sync. Nostalgic game with a lot of the classic game modes. However, what lets it down is the lack of save game sync between devices (e.g. iPhone, iPad, Apple TV). This means that once you start playing on a particular device you are locked to playing on that device only unless you start over.

Mission mode disabled. I cant play the mission mode on ios, really want to continue finishing up my levels

A classic, with awkward controls. A really good remake of a classic game. Introduction of musical rhythm really rounds this game out. However the on-screen controller tends to lack precision and you often find yourself getting killed not being able to navigate away in time. This makes it frustrating to play, and find myself not actually enjoying the game as much as I should.

Bomberman with Unlimited Lives. Love the game mode don’t get me wrong but I think there should be an option for veteran players to be able to play with the old school mode of last bomber alive. Also increase the cap of enemies on the field and the game would be golden! Also being able to play locally with controllers would be the most ideal way to experience this game. I understand the focus for online support but having an option to play at home with friends should be an option. Thanks

No local co-op. It’s a Bomberman game on a device that supports up to 4 controllers and there is no couch co-op. Konami, whatever you’re attempting to do here is a giant failure. If you develop a Bomberman game with no local co-op you’ve failed.

Pretty cool. This is something that you did right Konami, although it’s strange why people are kinda confused about the controls, but I like the controls. People, reverse your criticism and give this game some love.

Disappointed. No adventure mode and the game wastes lots of real estate on the borders just being lights ??

No couch co-op. For a game that has been couch co-op since Bomberman 2 on NES, this is ridiculous.

Wow the controls are bad. And the play area is actually tiny. But the concept is really cool. Love it, but frustrating to play.

So much wrong with this game. There is so much wrong with this game. What a wasted opportunity to recreate a classic. Instead of focusing on gameplay, they have the semi-translucent play area cover only a quarter of the screen, with the rest of the background being a totally unnecessary and distracting array of flashing swirling lights. Just silly and disappointing.

All it is right now is a cool concept. As a fan of the recent Bomberman games, I didn’t know what to expect from a Bomberman game that incorporates music and rhythm into the gameplay, but the twist is actually pretty ingenius. Not only will bombs, power-ups and curses drop in accordance to the rhythm, but also the intensity of the gameplay will try to match the music, making the gameplay, almost as though its part of the music video. So you can expect the song’s drop to add more power-ups or the song’s bridge maybe slow things down. It almost puts a new definition of the concept of a “rhythm game.” But its pretty short on content. As of writing, it only has 10 songs, so they’re guaranteed to repeat alot, if you’re looking to max out your level. The cosmetics unlocked are lacklustre and don’t mean much to the players you go up against. The scoring system is maybe a bit unrefined, with huge swings towards bombing the lead player. Tracks at the moment have the same grid design to them, and don’t use alot of stage obstacles seen in other Bomberman games. Also, I think the game can benefit from adding the classic elimination arena mode alongside. Also, it makes the poor decision, to release a multiplayer mode that doesn’t support all players on one system. I think this can become a great Bomberman game, that I would introduce to my family that loves Bomberman, but this game at the moment only has a good twist and a lovely aesthetic to it. It needs to do more as hopefully more updates come through over time.

I hope you don’t have epilepsy. I wish there was an option to turn off the background animation it's too busy.

Yikes. Bomberman is such an old game with so many iterations, one would think you can't mess it up. So congrats to the person who said "let's make the game translucent and play a video behind the game". You did it! (The setting that allows you to mess with the opacity of the video a tiny bit of is just insulting. Like you knew it was bad and did it anyway).

A good ride but needs more. It’s so nice to play bomberman online with people. The note code is good and the gameplay is fine. It’s classic bomberman multiplayer. The aesthetic is nice and the music is different but it’s nice. The menus are pretty simple to follow and it’s pretty clear what to do. There is a practice mode as well with video tutorials if your new and don’t know what to do. If your not ready for online you can practice with bots. The controls are easy as you move and press one button to drop bombs that’s it. My only thing is that I would love to see more. More cusomization. More costumes more characters more music and even more call backs to the older bomberman. Aside from that it’s fun and I hope to see it grow.

I HATE THIS GAME. Okay i know all the BM fans love this game but the game is so hard and.when i try to kill the score leader i always end up KILLING MYSELF INSTEAD so please Namco please make the Computer players difficulty lower please and i wont come back to it until you lower the computer players difficulty thank you Namco

Looks Cute but Broken. It looks like good old Bomberman, but in the tutorial you have to “punch” a bomb, but that doesn’t work, so you’re just stuck at that stage of the tutorial. (You can skip, but you still cannot punch bombs).

What an eyesore. Was excited to see this game being brought back to life but those stage designs are unplayable. The moving and flashing animations are painfully unnecessary.
