No casting from phone/tablet. Wow! Way to take back to 2008 with this app that doesn’t have the capability to cast to a tv screen. Take a cue from the other studios and look into how they developed their fully functional apps.

terrible app. stalls constantly - why did they bother?

Not very convenient for watching review screeners. Casting to television from computer doesn’t work, even when it says it is casting. Trying to cast using the phone app is worse; it looks like it’s about to start and begins to bring up the episode on the TV, but then keeps crashing and saying “Media failed to load.”

Terrible. Disney: Forcing people to watch a movie on a phone or tablet for visual effects consideration is not the way to get votes. I installed even after reading all the reviews. The app works, sort of. I was unable to access the content for over a week due to technical difficulties according to the error message I received. I finally was able to watch content after a week. All the other reviews stating it doesn’t stream are accurate. There is an option, but I have yet to get it to connect and work. A complete waste of development resources of this is the best that can be created.

Can’t load. Terrible app. It needs my internet which is excellent. Been sitting here watching the spinning dial looking for connection. So I can’t get in to cast it on tv. Dont really want to sit here on iPad. Not going to sit on computer.

No 4K. Bad image quality.. I’m grateful to have access to some movie and tv shows not accessible elsewhere BUT the quality of the image is very bad. I tried different way to watch, from my desktop, from my phone and chromecast, or from the iPad, but it always feel like movie from airplane or something like that. It is as best 1080p but mostly it is 720p, highly compressed. I had the code link because I work in the industry but what the point if it’s that bad?

Total waste. This is a pointless app. First of all you can’t cast or mirror it onto a bigger device. Also your access code isn’t saved so you have to go find it every time and re-enter it.

Casting broken for Apple devices. Casting doesn’t work. I’m not screening films on an iPhone…

You can only watch it on your phone. Cannot screen mirror or cast to TV screen.. At least you have an app (unlike some streaming services) but it doesn’t work.

Still won’t work with AirPlay. How am I supposed to vote for Disney shows, films, and the talent that work on them if I still can’t watch them on my full screen TV? The developers are doing the studios a great disservice by not fixing the app to work with AirPlay.

Not fun watching a movie on my phone. I won’t watch any of the movies on my phone for consideration to vote for SAG awards. I need a tv!!!

Doesn’t cast to TV. Similar to other reviews, I have an iPhone, the most common mobile device, and after multiple years of awards seasons and everyone complaining VIA reviews they’re unable to cast, shocked that in 2025 their app still is not functioning correctly and is unable to cast to TV.

Can’t watch movie. I feel sorry for Jesse Eisenberg. I’m sure his movie is great but you cannot watch it thru the disney app except on your tiny phone. I was really looking forward.

Casting Won’t Work. While the app seems to work fine on a phone or iPad, the movie won’t play at all when I try to cast it to my tv. Unfortunately, I don’t have an AppleTV device to try there, bit I have never had any issues casting from other apps in the past. Very disappointing since that means I can only watch on my iPad.

The Best of the Awful (Not A Compliment). This might be the best of the FYC apps, and it’s still terrible. Never thought I’d miss the days of 1,000 DVD screeners showing up in the mail. But that was before I got to manage 20 unique codes that expire every 12hrs - for a pile of apps that each fall on a spectrum of garbage to hot garbage. Everyone needs to either aggregate content on the Academy portal, or grant limited access to the main streaming sites (in this case, Disney+). You spent a ton of time and money designing those UI’s and we only have to enter one password. It works. These FYC apps all look and function like afterthoughts designed by an after school coding class.

Great App. Works great on my iPad! The layout makes it super easy to find what I’m looking for.

Disappointing Disney Debut. I’m using the app on my iPad for awards screening. It does not allow for connecting to a TV. This is incredibly frustrating as other apps I’m using for other contenders do. Therefore I’m forced to either watch all the content/contenders provided on this app on my iPad or I have to sit at my desk and watch it on my computer. Disappointing Disney Debut. Follow up: In the Help section you recommend HDCP-compliant HDMI cables. My cable offers “Support for ANY TV refresh rates (such as 120Hz/240/480/600Hz), HDCP 1.2 and 2.2 Support”

Casting needs improvement. Casting usually fails. Also caption does not work under casting. Playing on mobile devices is usually ok.

Super buggy app. Super buggy and does not work well on Apple TV.

Great App. Watching awards screenings has never been easier. Work’s perfectly on my phone and TV.

If you like watching movies on your phone…. There is no option to cast to a TV. Since your competitors offer this option, you may want to as well. Not having it will loose votes for any movie offered only on this platform.

bad. its not letting me login

Can’t do Chromecast. It says it can, but it doesn’t. Keeps idling endlessly.

That would be a “no”. App doesn’t work. Emailing support takes you to an outside company that wants you to sign up and charges $5 for the privilege.I finally got one title, but was unable to register and open others. Forget it.

No improvements. This is 3 years in a row now where you are unable to connect to a Smart TV and stream it. You are only allowed to watch on your phone or tablet. Awful design and programmers still are not in touch. If you are a voter, then you need to look elsewhere. Zero stars.

Bring back physical media screeners. I Have spent 40 minutes on two different devices trying to get this app to cast to chrome cast and still nothing. If the experience of trying to get the movie to just play on a television is this infuriating how good will the viewer feel watching the actual film? The answer is NOT GOOD.

This app is hot garbage. Every time I click a screener to view, the app crashes, but it also takes my play count down by one. Oh well - can’t vote for something I can’t see, so I guess I’ll be skipping past anything from Disney this year.
