Love it to pieces!. No joke, I have been playing this game every day since I found out about it. At least once every six hour cycle I’m opening up 1sland to try and be the first to win. And I don’t even like battle royales! The pay to win format most of them have is unbearable to me and for the longest time I just gave up on them. I picked up this game on a whim and now I’m never looking back. Even with season passes, all they really do is speed up your progression. You can do almost anything a paid player can do, it’s just a slower grind. Yes, pass holders do get exclusive boats, but a non pass holder still has the ability to buy slightly different boats with the exact same advantages. My only problem with it is that right now there are only two kinds of mini games you can find to earn extra exp, and some more variety would be nice! Overall, it’s refreshing to see this new “paddle royale” and it’s much more relaxed and fair atmosphere brought to the table. I cannot recommend it enough!

The most annoying/frustrating glitch. This game is a great game, it is a slow paced relaxing game that requires lots of play time (or 1 purchase) to complete rewarding goals that pay off. There is a lot of grinding time wether it’s fishing for 20 minutes to find all species to driving around for hours to achieve mile goals. With that being said there are many boats and boat upgrades that can assist you in achieving more goals and getting more oysters (in game currency). My worst experience with this game is wasting oysters because they are very hard to get. The most annoying glitch is the Position flare, I don’t know if the developers are aware of this glitch but you cannot use a second buoy/position flare. The first one shows your distance from the point you placed it but the second one you drop doesn’t show you the distance which is a complete waste of an oyster. Now if in game currency (oysters) were easily acquired and surplussed this would not be a big problem but all oysters are very important and critical to progression because of how they can be used and how tedious it is to get acquire them.

1.2 changes are confusing!. This is a great game, slow paced and super fun while being relaxing. I’m having a hard time understanding how the new season worked - when the changeover came, I kept the oysters and flares I’d collected. But none of the upgrades I made on my boat were carried over! I got them because it said it’d carry over to any boat, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Other than little annoying quirks like this, though, it’s an awesome game and beautifully designed.

Amazing Start to a Great Zen Experience!. I'll start off by saying this game has genuinely helped with a lot of anxiety and stress recently. The soundtrack is amazingly peaceful and it honestly makes this one of the most immersive mobile games I have ever played. The mix of the beautiful Animal Crossing style island builder, with the cash flow/gameplay aspects of an idle game mixed in, and complete lack of worrisome permanence with everything you do probably makes this one of the most relaxing experiences I've seen in mobile. It is clearly still fairly early in development with many more features to come I am assuming, so I will admit the game becomes a bit redundant after you buy every building. This point in the game is where fishing becomes a major factor. Fishing is equally as relaxing as the rest of the game, and the only thing I would ask from the developers is to create a wider range of "prizes" for what you catch. Right now it is pretty much either 1 heart or (X) thousand coins which is not a bad thing but it takes a little fun out because it takes some excitement away from what types of fish you catch. Maybe add rarer fish that swim in further away waters, or potentially a seasonal cycle where different types of fish swim during different seasons. Idk, I just know I am very excited for where this game could be headed, and if you are a big fan of 0 stress, complete zen experiences, then this is the game for you. :)

Here’s another suggestion!. Hello :) I wrote a review a while back asking for different islands to get materials from and you guys added it! That’s how I know you guys care about the people playing the game. I came back to this game after a break since I was busy lately. Still love it, and it’s still really lovely and peaceful. Now my suggestion is to make it more ocean explorer-y. I love the idea of you have to unlock the last island and get the material to make a compass to get the next island, but the blank space when getting the money to build the dock is making it a bit boring. So my idea is to still make the islands that you have to access the last to access the next, but to also have a free ocean with some rogue islands that don’t give you material, but just a place for you to stop and explore. It would definitely fill in the time while you try to unlock the islands with the gems. I understand it’s a small team of 2, and this might be a lot to make, but it’ll really make it more of an ocean explorer. And I’d really enjoy just sailing around to no where with no intent and seeing what I can find! Overall still love this game, and I still recommend it if you need to take a well needed break.

Awesome and calming. Very beautiful and simple game, love the concept, there’s a little “pay to win” with paddle pass but not as much as most and especially not with the lack of ads!! understand you need to make money and I think you did a very good job trying to make it fair! I can’t imagine having to be disrupted by ads while playing such a calming game. Can’t wait for updates!!

Charming and Chill. Man, what a lovely game! The concept is really neat; the design, i.e., layout design and user interface is quaint and elegantly simple, and you can tackle this from a really chill or competitive angle. The only thing I would say is the actual gameplay takes a little longer to get familiar with than other games in this genre, but it’s still just a really groovy little games!

Gimmicky. My first impression of 1sland was not altogether poor. It seems like a relaxing game you tune into as and when you please, but really the gameplay itself is frustrating and dull. The music is unexciting and unmemorable. Finding an island is not difficult at first, but the flares that indicate the general direction of the island have a much wider radius and arc than the tutorial indicates. It’s almost 180°, which makes the flares almost useless. They basically only indicate the absolute wrong direction to go. I’ve wasted as many as 4 circling an island that was a mere 2 miles from me, even with a buoy deployed, because the directional flares are barely useful. The initial excitement and pleasure of a well-made but simple game faded in just about an hour because gameplay is limited between island spawns and the game itself feels more and more like a joke meant to incentivize spending money. Boring. Simplistic. Cash-grabby. Poorly designed.

Used to be fun, until. With the recent update as of Nov2022 now all in game currency (hearts and stars) you were able to earn has been reduced by half at a minimum. Boats used to all have the same base speed, now they have been made extremely slow with a new currency added that you can pay real money for to make them as good as the boats used to be. Boats can no longer be purchased with stars, but now cards as well (the same new currency you use to upgrade boats.) They basically went and turned racing which was more or less about finding the best path to hit speed up orbs and avoid whirlpools/icebergs into a “pay us money and you can have first on the leaderboard.” It used to be optional and if you were good enough you could make top five regardless if you were paying or not. Now it just seems like they tried to monetize everything and make the grind wayyy longer for things just so you’ll give them money to speed it up. Maybe things will change back, but I seriously doubt it with how app and console games are now.

A Wonderful Game. This game is truly a masterpiece. It has countless elements that both casual and competitive gamers can appreciate. The gameplay itself is extremely therapeutic and relaxing, and I find myself getting completely immersed into the simplistic (yet beautiful) art style. The mellow soundtrack only adds to the experience. This is something special.

Solo game mode please. First off, this game has amazing music and I feel pretty calm while playing this game. This is the exact reason why I think a solo free-roam mode with many islands would be great. I don’t really like the idea of competition while playing this game, so I don’t really play to win, I just play to relax and it works but could be better. Also, maybe there could be a mode where you find an island and then establish a little town or something, but that is just an idea. This game is still pretty good!

Old player confused. I redownloaded this game after like 1-2 years and the game is completely different. While i do appreciate the game devs for keeping it fresh with new ideas and content, I simply can't get reconnected to the new style at all. I loved being able to explore the map without waiting, and just simply playing a game to find the island first. That being said, I really adore the customization and the fact that players get their own island, that's really cool.

Fun game but annoying. Fix the flare. When I shoot the flare that shows the direction it doesn’t even seem that the island is anywhere in the direction it shows It’s really annoying that I also can’t keep the boat running to shoot a flare. I slow down so much and even stop sometimes cuz I can’t keep the boat going while shooting a flare. Fix the direction a little bit so I don’t have to shoot off 30 flares pre new island and still not even be close to the first 25 to find it. I sit and wait till the new island comes along with how many others. But yet I am 15-20 “miles” away and can’t even get in the top 30 people. Makes me sad. But it’s a fun nice game keep up the good work

Ok but. This game is pretty fun. The only issue is there seems to be a pay-to-won issue here. You basically can never find the island unless you put money in to your boat. I just started out. Within the first minute of the round beginning the top global player found it. Tobiaskm(2780) and I’m a level 1. The flares practically do nothing. I bought a distance flare. Used it. Went that direction. Used another one. And it said it was the opposite direction all of a sudden. I think each match should be paired with people if your same skill level. Instead of playing with the number one global player. Pretty ridiculous we don’t even get a chance to try and find it and on top of that have to wait 5 hours to play again.

Relaxing, laid back take on competitive gaming. All in all it’s an enjoyable game. I’ve been playing it for roughly half a week and I really appreciate how zen the traveling is, with just a bit of problem solving mixed it. It makes for a very nice balance. The developers should be proud of what they’ve made here. I’d also like to say I have no idea where the complaints about the tutorial are coming from. The game is pretty simple and I don’t think the tutorial was overbearing or wordy. My only gripe is that I seem to have upgraded as much as possible already (I think) yet every single game is won in minutes with me taking around 10-15 to find the island. Cutting down my time to compete with the same 10 champions seems like an impossible task, but I can’t say for sure since I haven’t been playing nearly as long as they have. Just a little disheartening when I see the notification and get excited only to have my chance at being #1 taken away in an average of 3 minutes.

Game is good! Could have more. Ok, first off I’m splitting this review into two sections The ideas and suggestions. Should be obvious what both parts mean there’s also the TLDR (To Long Didn’t Read) and the most wanted Ideas: a hub/lobby place (a real one where ppl can just hang,) emotes, being able to customize your island before you find a island, mini games have a 10-20% chance of being golden when they... spawn??? And giving you a oyster for completing them. (Don’t know what mini games reward prob give you a oyster. So the golden thing gives you 2) Suggestions: being able to see the other boats moving (instead of just sitting there) and the island thing coming every 1-3 hours instead of 6 Most wanted: in Ideas it’s a tie with hub/lobby place and emotes In Suggestions it’s the island coming every 1-3 hours TLDR: no issues with they game the game devs aren’t working on or that are HUGE... good game overall. Just my ideas for the game. No issues here.

Fun but misleading. This is a really cool concept for a game. It’s super relaxing when there isn’t an island to find. I really enjoy crashing through the blocks of ice for some reason! I just wish there were more islands to find at one time or that there wasn’t so much time in between. For the past two days I’ve been in the app, waiting when a new island is about to appear. I set my flares and buoys but when I travel the distance and set direction, there’s no island. Another two flares later and I see that I’m the same distance away (if not further) in the opposite direction! Super frustrating. Overall though I enjoy it and I’ll keep trying to find my island.

Home update and screen tilt. I tried to play the game but when I opened I got something called a “Home Update” which would take 2 days and I don’t really know what a home update is. Also, when I try to play the game, it automatically tilts the game so it’s upside down so I have turn my device upside down and it’s really annoying. The game has a good concept and the graphics are nice but I’m a little annoyed by the weird screen tilt thingy

Good game but one bug. I love the game and the graphics and all of that cool stuff but there’s just one thing that I don’t like. after I Play for about 10 minutes it crashes and I have to re-open the game but overall I love it. If you could please fix that bug It would be really great

My favorite game I have. I’ve seen many reviews about how this game is a pay to win game - IT IS NOT PAY TO WIN- if you pay you just get some free boats and a little bit of oysters... It’s soo easy to get oysters if you find the island! Currently I have 610 oysters 😅 im waiting to use them on a boat I love. I’m glad that you can buy the surprise boats, And getting on the leader board isn’t the whole purpose of the game anymore, the game is a great game to relax with :)

Frustrating tutorials, lots of potential. Amazing visuals, could’ve been the perfect zen experience, however, the forced annoying tutorial and the forced competition, ruins the experience. I had to delete it after the first ten minutes or so, I went through the first level with the slowest tutorial I’ve ever seen, and after it ended (which btw, was apparently a competition that I didn’t sign up for), I thought cool, it probably has some zen mode or sth, but no, more tutorials and competition 😭! The visuals and the idea behind the game are great, and as said in the title, it has a lot of potential, if the developer ever gets rid if the tutorial torture and the competition, and adds a complete zen mode, like in Alto’s Adventure, or an offline gaming version in which you don’t have to compete with others online, I would happily re-install it! I rarely write reviews for apps and games, especially games, but I really like this game to get better ‘cause I know it can. I hope I’ll be able to enjoy this game in near future.

I love the game, just a few things. This game is awesome and I love the idea, but there’s like only 2 things that I think should be changed/added. First is, sometimes when you’re in a race, you will run into a huge iceberg and then lose, which is unfair. The second thing is a way to mute the sounds, unless I just didn’t notice how. Other than that, the game is one of the best, and I totally recommend it to other people.

It’s so cute!!. This is my favorite little zen game atm! I’m not very good at steering the boat, but I like the fishing part the best anyways! I really love that we can plant crops and are able to arrange them (and the buildings) however I like! I do wish there was a drop down menu for the crops you’ve planted, so we could upgrade them without having to move the character every few crops - or be able to select one crop after another, instead of it exiting the upgrade menu for each crop. It’s very nice to look at, I love watching the ocean and fish change colors! And the graphics are super cute! ,,,,also I wanna be able to name and pet the pets,,, 🥺🥺🥺

Pretty Game, technically hard to control. Pretty looking game, and I like the concept. I don’t know if I misunderstood the tutorial, or my fingertips are not working on the touchscreen. I find that the boats are hard to control, the fishing mechanic “swipe down” is maddeningly under explained, some fish are easily caught, and I had to give up on others after a minute of swiping down, before my finger prints wore out. Also the starting boat cannot escape whirlpools, so traveling 12 miles to find the island in one direction will take you through a whirlpool, reset your boat to some new random place on the map, and then you need to use the flares again to get your new heading. Sad to say I’m going to be uninstalling the app. Good effort!

Awesome.. I play it all the time when I’m tired or just laying in bed, and it’s so calming. A lot of games like this get really boring; like those plant games? You know, where you just tap to grow the plants. I always get bored of those because I’m just doing one thing. This game is simple, but there are so many little details and it’s so calm and cute. I haven’t gotten bored and I don’t think I will. I loooove this game and I really recommend it.

Beautiful game, much too pay-to-win. You can purchase premium currency, which then allows you to purchase directional flares, which then allow you to find the island faster, as you can spam them. Basically, if you have someone who earns the directional flares without buying them, you will win 1/10th of the times that someone who is paying for them wins. Also, if you don’t get on within the first couple of minutes that a round starts (it starts with or without you every 3 hours or so) someone WILL find the island first, meaning you have to drop everything you’re doing and jump on, which is not feasible for most. I’m pretty sure I keep seeing the same 2 or 3 people finding the island every single match, which is disheartening. I would avoid downloading until there’s a limit on flare usage or some other balancing out into place to make it less pay to win.

Can I change my character?. I accidentally chose the wrong character when I started the game and I can’t find any way to change it. I don’t see any options or anything in the clothing shop. Also I might have written this review already, but I wrote it with bad cell service and I don’t think it went through, but that’s why there might be a second one of these.

Great Game, Needs a lot of work. I rated it 5 stars because I think it’s great for such a new game. However, there could be a lot more done with it. Consistent crashes when I complete challenges in the ocean. The race is annoying, because you can so easily get stuck on the bordering bouys or whatever they are. I feel like you can build more stuff on an island you discover in a race vs on your own island. Why? I want to be able to build more stuff on my home land. And finding a container 50 miles from home? Seems a bit ridiculous. Maybe some help/hints with finding stuff out at sea? I want to be able to view a gallery of how many I’ve caught of what. Should be more to catch in the ocean. Percentage of rarity of finding different stuff is fine, but more fish and then being able to look at them and read their little bios later would be fun. There’s a glitch where you fish over fish and it doesn’t give you the button at the bottom, that needs fixing. Much more can be done but so far, congratulations developers. You’ve made a relaxing game that does not beg you to play for hours on end. The team should be proud of this app and I cannot wait to see where it goes.

Very fun but.... I’ll admit. This game is very fun. I got it the other day and I’ve tried hard and the best I’ve gotten is only 60th. I sort of get the feel that it’s a pay to win game. It is impossible to earn oysters. You get a lot of flares from finding the island, but only after you’ve used all your previous flares to get there. Just my thoughts that it’s not fair to players who don’t want to pay.

Comment feature??. In general i love the game but one thing that i noticed that they added recently is the comment feature. All i have to say is that i have not had a great experience with it. As usual i was playing the game and one of the other players on line was making negative comments towards my player after i had lost a competition. Is there a way to disable the comment feature??? I wish they had never added this feature

Slow Tempo, Slow Progression & Slow Boat. Great concept- one competition per day to find an island. After you find it- I haven’t- you get to decorate it so the entire world can see....? And your name shown on world ranking. Okay, but that’s about it. I’ve been playing for two days and not to name the player who starts with the letter P- he/she always finds the island. And once I see the island has been found, why bother playing. It is a slow game that starts with a slow boat, unless you buy a “Pass” for $2, $5 and $9 to get a head start. If you wish to grind, complete mini missions and side objectives will take a long while to earn money or “oysters”. Things like collecting little orbs, fishing, and breaking icebergs will earn you “1” Oyster, and when you reach the object quantity, you’ll have to collect a lot more to earn “1” Oyster. I don’t mind grinding, but so I can decorate and island and get my name on a ranking list is not very enticing. But, if slow tempo game is your favorite, or Monument Valley type of graphic is your thong- give this game a try.

Great Potential. 1sland is a fun grind, whether you spend money on it or not. It’s awesome but there’s some bugs (building and fishing). Also, I’ve constantly found myself wondering why the developers didn’t include certain menu options or actions throughout different states of gameplay (like checking challenge requirements while fishing, boating, building, etc.). Finally, it would be cool if more item options were added to the shop, like being able to build thin bridges across water to connect different pieces of land. Overall, I really enjoy this game and am commenting because I think it’s awesome but has a lot of potential for growth and improvement. For those wondering if it’s purely pay-to-play, it’s not and is still a lot of fun—just takes consistent patience :)

A bit too much pay-to-win. Pretty fun game, but it is nearly impossible to win unless you have an IAP boat with upgrades. I suppose, given enough time, you might be able to level up enough and earn enough in-game currency to purchase something to level the playing field. However, the season is only about 60 days, and I do not think the average player will be able to afford the upgrades in that time period without coughing up some real money. I am all for supporting developers, but I don’t think winning should be an outcome of that support. Maybe customizing your sailer, boat, etc., but not winning.

This game is bland, to much grinding, and it’s unfair. It takes around 9 or more hours to actually compete to find the island which and since the island is put in a random spot then people a lot closer have a high chance of finding it when you are 15 miles away from it which makes the game frustrating and boring, and to get oysters it takes like 5 to 10 minutes just to get 1 or 2 but with the passes you get a good boat and and good oysters which just turns the game into a pay to win. Wish you would fix these problems.

Relaxing and Fun. This game is lots of fun! It’s very peaceful and Zen. Some of the little mini games took a while to figure out, but once you get the hang of how to land in the target, beat the other boat in the race and collect all the duckies, you are set. The race to find the island is fun too. Each time you hope to get there first, which mostly I don’t, but when you finally do, it’s so satisfying!

I love this game but the thunderstorms. I’ve only been playing this game for about 20 minutes and I’m already in love. But I’ve already been caught in a thunderstorm. Usually I get headaches from flashing lights so it would be really great if there was a setting where I could turn that off lol. Other than that this game is absolutely fantastic and I love it so much. The art style is adorable, the music is calming, and it’s so easy to play. There’s nothing confusing about it. I also have severe anxiety so the meditation aspect of it really helps. Thank you developers (:

It’s ok but. I find it peaceful but it’s kinda hard unless you have upgrades. I wish the time was like every hour instead of waiting 5 hours for another round to start. One thing I wish you would put in there is seeing other boats travel around like you. I don’t know if it’s just my game that dose that but I never see any boats traveling it’s just me and if I find one they are just usually just sitting around together and doing nothing. I’d love if you’d add more things to make the game better otherwise the game is awesome thank you for reading this.

Relaxing. Destress with this app. Just a couple of suggestions: allow purchase of multiple flares at one time, the flare loading graphic is just not that soothing. Have a winner for first to find, but also have a winner for fastest time. Incorporate a geometry options, with different difficulty levels, in order to triangulate the quickest route and create more tiers of winners. What is up with the fishing thing? Seriously you just have to keep scrolling down? Use a depth finder and a reel motion, troll for fish while cruising, cast nets for the geometry options.

More interactions. I love this game, it’s very new, it has a lot of potential but also room to grow. I do believe there should be a tutorials and tips section for players, because besides the beginning you don’t really know how to do basic things or how to find stuff out in sea (hints would be appreciated) I also have a personal irritation with how small the bag capacity is. Things I would really like to see in the game is a personal player handbook, a way to add friends and interact with one another besides the whole boats just chilling out in sea. I would like to visit my friends island or be able to travel there by boat. I think it would be fun to fish with friends. Treasure hunting would be cool.👍 I love the games art and how relaxing it is, i hope to see really cool updates in the future.

Boring. Where’s the game?. The game is aesthetically pleasing, and the minimalistic design is wonderful. There aren’t any intrusive advertisements or annoying UI-menu navigation you have to perform to enjoy playing the game. However, the game is just so empty. Coming into the game I thought it would be an open-world sailing exploration game with the niche battle royals event that you could choose to participate in; but really it’s just a dragged out progression system to make you forget how little content there is in the game. You have these repetitive, simple mini games and fishing quests you can do for the in game currency but they reset every two hours. You do the same thing over and over, catching the same fish- doing the same race, and sailing across empty ocean or icy waters. It’s a shame because I would’ve loved to have the battle royale side as a separate game mode, and have my own 1sland and exploration game to play. For those who care about the battle royale aspect: There really isn’t an advantage to people who want to spend a lot of money to find the island first, and there really isn’t an advantage to find the island first in the first. It takes a fair degree of luck to land your flares correctly to find the island quickly- and that’s it unless you are going to spam flares. Tl;dr: There’s enough content to last you for thirty minutes. Check the game out later maybe?

Good proof of concept, gameplay sits odd. Although the environment that you had created felt absolutely amazing, the journey wasn’t as joyous. The pizza flares didn’t do much as to help but hinder, sending me skimming right past the island several times. And the missions often send me backwards, given the odds to get a speed boost in the islands direction. Although the game is without a doubt a great game (noticed by Apple, seemingly just by the aesthetic) it needs a lot of work to do, just like any other game that has landed on a mobile device.

Wow love the update maybe improvements. I really love what you all have done by adding a friends menu and love the shipwrecks but it is hard to find them. I would like to see more diverse music like adding different music at the island which the finder can choose and also I would enjoy to have an event each round where you have a certain time limit to get somewhere close to the island to get rewards or even sell fish, a secondary currency maybe that you get from selling fish and being able to rebuild the home with that currency is a idea Overall love the game want to see more

How do you find things. I really like the game! Only played it for a day but there is a lot to do already, and isn’t boring and is quite relaxing. Only thing is that it doesn’t teach you what each item exactly is, you can click on items to make to see what you need though. I found that I needed diamonds to upgrade my compass but it only told me to go to the lava see to find them. I don’t know if I need to be fishing or I’ll find it floating on the surface. Can someone help me with this problem?

Great game, here’s a suggestion. This game is very fun and relaxing. Here is one thing I think could add a lot to the game: I think there should be something like “voyages” or something like that in which you complete longer quests. An example could be finding one island and picking up “cargo” and then bringing it to an island from a previous round. This would be really cool cause my only real complaint with the game is that there isn’t really enough variety of things to do in between rounds.

Amazing but one thing. I LOVE this game I could play it for hours but theres one thing that bothers me... I hate it when the screen flashes really bright. When I'm playing I guess I'm trying to relax and the bright flash just completely ruins the vibe of the game I'm a bit sensitive to flashing so this is something that isn't very good. I hope ya'll can change this or pit a setting where you can turn it off... otherwise this game is AMAZING.

Such a relaxing game. Love it to the best ❤️. I really enjoy this game as it’s so calm and relaxing. I though that the game would be boring but Once I decided to play it I did not regret it. It really helps me when I am having bad days or sleeping I would go play this game as it really helps soothe me compare to other games. It’s also very simple and not to confusing, as it’s just right. I’m not good with explaining but this is one of the best games I’ve played. If I’m aloud to I have a request. If it’s possible could there be a sounds where when your driving the boat there are water sounds. It would give that realistic feeling to the game as I would really enjoy it even more. I hope that made sense my English isn’t to great.

This game is the best mobile game I have ever had also it’s free and there’s no ads this game is slow relaxing it lets me relive stress and it is very rewarding another thing I would like to add is a fishing mini game you have to get a certain amount of fish before a time runs out and a swamp environment like how there is an ice environment and a bright and red one a swamp one would be cool like there are vines and lily pads that slow you down like the icebergs but they don’t break well they do but they slowly fade out and a flare that teleports you closer the island and you could add small islands that give 10xp for finding them and you can get a loot crate like the one you get at 9:00am but slightly worse and these islands aren’t very hard to come by Thank you devs for this sweet little game

The game is great, here are some tips.. I know this game is going to get popular very fast, so relaxing and slow paced and with a lot of patience you can be permanently put in the Hall of fame and people can see your 1sland!. One extra thing here are couple nit picks, in the tutorial you get bombarded with text that make the tutorial frustrating, which isn’t good because it can deture people from the game. For example trying to get XP you missed behind you is hard because when you go back to get it the tutorial stops you in your place with text. the progress is slow but I think this isn’t a game you are supposed to grind for long time maybe it’s a game you use for relaxation. one last thing getting an island is very very hard but I think it’s to make you enjoy the journey and feel fulfilled when you get an island, anyways amazing game and maybe it can take over the mobile market like Mario kart and or Pokémon go did.

1sland. This is a very good game. Anyone who wants to get a competitive but relaxing game, here it is. It has a home island, where you grow crops and fish for fish, but also has an open ocean where you race to find an island with helpful flares. One of the only things about this game: not enough stuff. I understand that it might still be in the making process, but it needs more than just a farm, fishing shop, house, pet shop, hat shop, and decorations. I completed everything in about 2 days. I still play it, but it feels like it has no purpose now that I’ve put down everything. And what’s the point of making money, just to upgrade more stuff? I would suggest at least a “trader shop” where you buy different upgrades, boats, decor for you island, and maybe even different types of flares. Other than all of that, I think it has very good potential, and is already a good game.

Very well made. I downloaded it a few minutes ago and already it’s very addicting and one of my favorite games. I love how you can compete against other people to find islands and when there is no competition you can explore the ocean, and go fishing, and scare the birds away. I also really like the challenges and how you can upgrade your boats. So I just want to say that I already love this game and it was very well made by the developers.

Was hoping for more. Beautiful game and great idea. Execution a bit lackluster. The “multiplayer” aspect is a bit of a stretch - you will never once see another player actually sailing in the world. Makes a cool idea a bit boring in execution. Not sure what having “real live multiplayer” would take. If the devs could confirm, what does “push back” even do? Would love to see a reward for “saying hi” 1xp or similar. Wish the whirlpool would trigger vibrations a bit further out, depending on if you are coming from the side or the bottom/top of the screen they can be very hard to escape. P2P seems to kill this game quite a bit - would love to have seen cosmetic only choices rather than increasing sail speed and trying to pass the game off as competitive in any nature. Think of DLC in cod that would make players run/kill quicker. Not fun/balanced. Also is there a current issue with hackers? Have nearly given up as usually within a minute the island is found by a variation of “amrita” - not sure how someone could sail 12 miles that quickly.

Good game!. I wish you could turn off the helper as when the pop up, you lose control of the vessel. Sometimes it’s really inconvenient if you’re getting close or trying to escape a whirlpool. Made an edit as I found the settings.

Lovely gameplay and scenery. Lovely artwork and animation! The style and designs are appealing, and the gameplay is relaxing with a dash of competition! Perfect game for those who live a busy life and don’t have time or special interest in games! I personally love it! There is one glitch tho, every time I find the island (not first) and it shows the reward I’m suppose to received but I almost never receive them. Would be nice if that’s fixed!

Review / analysis. Good game, but oysters (the currency in the game) are wayyyyyyy to hard to get maybe have some form of daily objectives that reward 10 or so. For example, “catch 20 fish”: reward 10 oysters. Other than that solid indie game :)

I love it calming and butiful. Great game calming butifull Graphics fun and addictive no problems with the gameplay just some things I thing you should add. You should add a chat either it being a thing where ppl nearby see your message or a server wide chat also there are some boat trail glitches where the trail is in front or it’s all over the screen. Also to the people calling it boring I thing the point of the game is to be like that NOT BORING just simple and repetitive and calming and lots of people like that. Oh ya and pls make the passes easier to get without money pls. But again i love the game and think it’s is great like I can’t explain how much fun it is. (Sorry for the spelling and grammar mistakes)

Needs More. It’s overall a great and i just have some suggestions: 1. Please add a way to sell fish! i’m running out of storage! Mabye add it to one of the fishing places? 2. Add more stores the same three are boring after a while. 3. Let us have the ability to customize the inside of the house or just do kore with the house. 4. Make the fences able to connect at corners! 5. Make more creative daily tasks, the same ones interchanged every other day is boring. 6. Add more things to create (i.e Furnature, novelty items, more tools ect.) 7. Add more islands with different materials other than crystals and gems. Other than these critiques the game is one of my favourites right now and i’d recommend it to everyone and anyone!

Add volume control. Hate that there’s no volume option, I want to be able to listen to my music or wear earphones while playing

Boring and redundant. This game is fun if you have some money to spend or if you are constantly on your phone to play, because leveling up and getting new boats is extremely boring and the game is very redundant after acouple of hours

Relaxing, though got repetitive quick. Pay to play vibes. Different boat unlocks require a dozen or more cards to complete a set. Cards are few and far between and random. Likelihood of earning your favourite boat seems like it would take forever/luck. Daily race is a fun concept. Though I’d love to be able to upgrade my boat and get new ones easier. So I can be more competitive. The music loop is too short to zone out to. I got to a point after a few hours where the next “tier” of purchases took way too long to earn. Equipment breaks very frequently. Bait for example has a high probability of breaking, before catching enough fish to pay for replacement. The benefit of catching better fish with bait is also too rare. 1/20catches with bait got a valuable fish worth 500g. That’s over 4 baits broken costing 500g(each)/2000g. It’s more economical to grind low grade 50g fish. But that’s boring and time consuming. There aren’t any more buildings/equipment to get where I’m at in the game. Just expensive upgrades. Thus I am moving on. Good game concept. Fell short of my enjoyment/investment threshold

Great game. Not like most games which makes it fun and interesting

Trash. Not really a game. Small interactive Color screen where you can direct a boat around. The goal is, every six hours, to try to be the first to find an island that appears. Somehow, the same 10 people that have bought Pay2Win passes that give you a bunch of currency (used for flares) and faster boats and stuff find the island every single time. What a surprise! You can see that they’ve bought a pass next to their name. Otherwise, completely boring and uninteresting “game” where you just direct your boat around, participate in one of two “missions” (pick up these yellow things in a circle or beat this ghost in a “race” on the exact same track every time). You do these things when there’s no island to be found so that you can... upgrade your boat speed/buy flares that help you find islands. All in a feeble and hopeless attempt to find the island next time, which you won’t, because one of the pay2win people will find it before you, guaranteed. Finding an island doesn’t even have a point. You find the island, wow yay. That’s literally it. Oh, and it isn’t even actually multiplayer. You will never actually see another player. Every mile or so, the game just throws 3 random players names into a small area, and they sit there. Still. You can wave hi, or “push them back”, which doesn’t actually do anything. They will get a notification for either.

I don’t normally write reviews. But this game is so great.. What my title said. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety while managing a high stress job. This game takes me away after a long day with its music and super addicting/easy going platform. Multiplayer could be better. This game is amazing and I love playing it but it really needs actual online multiplayer, seeing other boats is okay, but they don't actually move so it doesn’t really feel like online multiplayer, or like an actual game/race to the island.

Gorgeous!. I love this game! Gorgeous graphics, beautiful music, fun game, very addictive. My constructive feedback would be, I wish there were a bigger variety of the mini game/challenges. I really like them, I just wish there were more kinds. Also, (and maybe this could be chalked up to the timing of notifications) but often I’ll get a notification that there’s a new island, I’ll immediately open the app, and then not even 5 seconds later someone has already found it! It’s like they teleported there! I don’t understand. Again, maybe my phone is just late in giving me a notification that there’s a new island, but what the heck!!

simplistic + relaxing. In my experience after downloading the game just two days ago, 1sland is a casual yet exhilarating enjoyment. It’s simple, clean and modern game play is perfect for many ages. I’m going to be honest, you need to practice quite a bit and upgrade your boat enough to be a candidate to find an island!! You don’t need to pay for it to be fair, which is something I really enjoy.

Deleting this app just because of too much notification.. For an app that’s supposed to be calming/relaxing, it’s very annoying. Too much notification, how desperate are you for attention.

I love this app!. This app is really great. It is simple, easy to understand and fun to play. I really like that it is multiplayer. The app would be even greater if we could find our friends in the game because it is very complicated for now.

Can be more engaging :). I understand the passive zen / idle approach but visually it could be more engaging. The UI is very stiff, and small when played on mobile devices. There’s not a lot of animations to engage with the users. The art is nice and neat, but it’s potential is overshadowed by the scale and lack of animations. The fishing experience is just 2 taps, there’s no reeling effects. The flat loading animation also adds to this unintuitive feeling. I think the game still has a lot of potential but fell flat in UI. There’s also a few typos in the tutorial.

Beautiful and interesting, not particularly fun. This is a gorgeously designed game that is uber zen so it’s nice to chill out with. See it as a bit of an anti-game. It is a bit boring but that is kind of the point. If you wanted a fast paced action game go play tank war or whatever. Concept is cool. Appreciate no ads.

Really boring. This game has literally one purpose FIND A ISLAND. And it is always the same people that win. It is IMPOSSIBLE to find this island.And you have to figure everything out because the information about how you play is not clear. After like 3 days it really is so frustrating that you can’t find THE ISLAND. Honestly this game is really not interesting.

Amazing, by far my favourite game, but a few suggestions.... Overall love the game, however i wish there were a few additions to refresh the gameplay, such as: • More upgrades, such as maybe auto orb collect, more engine upgrades, or a boost button to make you go faster for a small period of time. • A few more challenges that randomly cycle depending on the day, just so that we don’t get tired of the same 5 challenges. • Allowing players to fish more items, such as a mystery box (look below) or a treasure map that can lead you to let’s say 10 pearls. • Maybe in the flare shop, you can add mystery boxes (which cost pearls) that can give you pearls, flares, kites or even boats! Those are all that come to mind right now, but i hope u take this as constructive criticism because i truly love your game, well done!

Good game but…. This is a good game but I can’t even delete my fields so now I can’t buy any buildings to expand so I’m stuck with a tiny island with only fields

It’s Decent. The game has a cool concept but it wasn’t done extremely well. It always seems like the same group of players are always the ones finding the island, possibly pay to win? I like the interactive notifications that tell you when a new island can be found and also how it tells you who found. Another thing though is I don’t understand how it’s multiplayer. I run into a ship every once in a while but they just sit there. Are these people who have turned off the app waiting for the next island to appear? Furthermore sailing itself is pretty boring you collect some dots to go faster every once in a while and you can do some fishing stuff. Keep in mind you’ll only want to be doing that stuff in the downtime when there’s no island. Overall cool concept, could have more to it.

Not too shabby. Played this game for about 5 days and found it to be just alright. I do like the simplicity of it since that's what I was kind of looking for. I think it'd be cool to be able to do a bit more in the game. Fishing, coasting through orbs and crushing ice gets to be a little redundant. I actually find it pretty difficult to find the islands without having to spend hours in the game collecting oysters in order to level up. I do understand that you can purchase passes, etc. I'm not sure how many active players there are, but it seems like the same people always "find the island" within 4 minutes (not an exaggeration) of receiving the notification. I really like the game and think it has more potential! I am eager to see if anything is updated/changed.

decent. i’m not a big game player, but i really like 1sland. it’s relaxing, i love how the colours fade in and out and i love the graphics. the reason i give it 3 stars is because i think it gets a bit boring after a while. i think adding more islands to explore, or different mini-games to play might give it a bit more substance. i would like to see more interaction with other players as an option as well. for example, team races or sorts where you can play different games with people online or chose to just explore more islands. i think calming music would be nice. i think if you don’t like something there’s no need to saying it unless you have feedback on how things can get better, so i hope this helps!

Relaxing and fun. It does it’s job well and fits into its category. It’s relaxing, cute and fun. The steering of the boat is tricky though so that’s probably the only thing I’d change. I also had a few times where I was in a race and there was a whirlpool in the way which resulted in me losing. Not sure if intentional. Overall good game and just really relaxing

Annoying Tutorial or something. I like the idea but oh my lord please lower the amount of times the guys says “let’s see how far the island is” he says it like every mile and when he does you lose control of your boat and i hate getting stuck in whirlpools when i can’t even move. I can not stand long tutorials. One of the first things the game tells you is that it’s a simple slow paced game. Then you have a 10 min tutorial that stops you from playing every 2 seconds to tell you more about the game. JUST LET ME PLAY to see if I like it first. I can get more in-depth when I decide I like the game

Game is great but... I am having a lot of fun with this game it is very relaxing and calming. I would recommend it to anyone! I only have 2 problems: 1. Sometimes people win the game multiple times a day very fast so they are obviously hacking or something. 2. It is sad you have to pay for co op, I wanted to play with friends but I found out you have to pay for it. Game is still great and has a lot of potential, I will be playing for a while!

Very relaxing but. This seems real fun but its almost impossible to reach the island first. I swear, when the new round starts, someone reaches the island not even 10 seconds later. Are there people spawning right on the island or are there spaces laid out to make sure that doesn't happen? I also suspect hacking but ive only been playing a few days so i cant tell.

Relaxing?. This game is supposed to be relaxing or something, but it’s just not doing it. The islands are never where they say they are and when you feel like you’re getting close, BAM, a whirlpool resets most of the progress you made. Along with the very limited amount of flares. It could be fun for somebody, just not for me.

Fun game but there is a bug. This is a really fun game but when I try to load into it the game crashes so devs if you are reading this, can you try and fix it?

Please Add a Sound Option. I have been playing this game for a couple days and I enjoy doing so. However, I do not like listening to the same song over and over. I do enjoy the sound effects though. I would just like to suggest adding the ability to turn on and off music and and/or sound effects.

Really great game, but needs a little more excitement.. I just got the game and I love playing. It is a very cool concept and unique. However, I think it could use a bit more excitement. Introducing a threat the the player such as a shark or a kraken would keep the player engaged while playing, and I think it would make a great addition. Keep up the great work!

Best game. I can’t figure out how to fish I just started playing and I’m annoyed that I can’t play well but overall it’s one of the best game I’ve ever played

I miss what the game used to be.. It was fun to discover the island, and groups of other players ships. Now it’s more of an island builder and I’m not a huge fan of games like this. The old concept was more unique, though it appealed to less of an audience I loved it.

Nice concept. It’s a cool idea, but it seems like progression isn’t really worth it. The odd flashes of color as I sail are really distracting and unpleasant, and the tutorial felt like it was consistently getting in the way of just wandering around and chasing birds with my boat. Maybe I didn’t play long enough to really get into it, but the occasional flashes and the little chat box stopping me from moving didn’t really make me want to keep playing.

Frustrating not relaxing. Love the music, the open world, the serenity... oh hey, there’s a bit of competition as well? Sounds fun! Only every time you are supposed to be “racing” to find the island, new tutorials pop up and hinder you from making progress. I understand we have things to learn, but teach them to us and let us be. Just when I thought I would get a chance to compete... bam here’s another pop up and guess what someone else just found the island. No thanks. Deleting this one.

Fun but. This is a great app but the distance flares are not working half of the time so I can’t get to the island. They show the same distance every time. Still a fun game when it works.

A Grinder. Not Strategy.. You’ll find yourself fishing or breaking ice blocks or just logging endless miles to “earn” oysters (the in-game) currency so you can maybe have a chance at finding the island. Yes, you can double your earn rate if you make a fairly reasonable in-game purchase but if your experience is anything like mine you’ll question wether you’ll be playing the game after lunch and is even a $2 purchase a waste of money.

Can’t delete account and start over. The tutorial did such a horrible job of actually explaining how to build on your island, upgrade buildings, upgrade people, etc., I want to nuke my game save and start over. That doesn’t appear to be an option. Even deleting and reinstalling the game doesn’t work because it remembers my GameCenter account. I really would like to give this game a second chance, but the game refuses to let me.

Need help!!!. The game is so much fun! But after the latest update my barn is missing? I still have the farm but can not purchase a new barn because it says I still have it.

Eh. I was very exited to play this game but when I played I realized it’s pretty impossible to win if you don’t pay to get oysters to get all the upgrades. But what’s really making me not like this game is that it’s very glitchy. When you do the race miny game even if you win it says you lose and you don’t get the exp. And, every couple seconds white squares flash across the screen, making it pretty difficult to play. Overall, good but could be improved a lot

Has Potential. The start of a great game, very pretty and I enjoy just puting around in my boat. I really wish the side missions and activities where more fleshed out and enjoyable! For example fishing: -the fishing mini game is is a straight bore, no fun at all, and easily could be. -Add timing and skill to hooking a fish -maybe large fish might pull your boat around! -make certain fish native to cold/warm bioms -Where do my fish go after I catch them? It would be nice to be able to sell them at a floating market, this could also be where you get your boat upgraded Overall the game needs more things to do with real game loops to make the world enjoyable to be in for the time you are waiting to race to the next island.

Lovable art style. The art style for this game is iconic. Also, the game itself is a great way to detach and decompress a little bit. Would love to see boat races between players, fishing contests, and maybe even some more obstacle course stuff. Great game overall, awesome work devs!!

Love the Game but Confused about Flares. I love this game- super relaxing, gorgeous colors, and just overall pleasant. I’m just confused about how the directional flare (sort of like a pizza slice) works /how to use it properly because the direction of the island keeps changing. Thanks for making this game :)))

Loving this app except…. I live this app and have a lot to say However, As I was playing I passed by a player who’s name was Nazism :/ this is supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable game but the fact that any player can put a really harmful or hurtful name makes me not want to play it as much I’m Jewish and it really hurt to see a pro nazism user name (there were also a few more)

Super interesting concept. I downloaded it just because it looked gorgeous, but after playing a few rounds, I'm truly loving it. It's a breeze. Super fun and clever way of mixing competition with calming wandering in between rounds.

Too repetitive. The game is literally the exact same thing every time and you have no gaurentee that your even gonna get the island. Maybe make multiple rounds at once so you actually have a chance? That would also help with grinding. Also the only reason I’m not giving this 2 starts is because of the genuinely good polish and atmosphere, beautiful job on that

Needs more instructions. It’s very pretty, but nothing is intuitive. I was sailing around, fishing, slowly figuring out the controls, then I got a little message about “taking a break “. Not I can’t steer the boat at all, even in the competitions —update— I completely closed the game and it behaved normally. Still very unclear on how interacting with other players works —update—- My ability to navigate was taken away again. Very annoying

Gets boring quickly. The tutorial leaves a lot of things unexplained. Most game play goals have to be figured out on your own. Activities outside of the actual races seems to have little to no point. Building up your island is fun until the task list no long has any tasks to do. Driving your boat around could be fun, but the goals don’t keep up with what you’ve done (don’t get credit for completing them).

Extreme handholding. It would be super relaxing to play, except the “character” doesn’t let you actually relax and play however you want, interrupting every few seconds to tell you to use a flare (which you can purchase or earn in game.) Literally unplayable unfortunately. But if the tutorial guy stopped treating the players like idiots and telling them what to do it’d be a very beautiful and relaxing experience.

It is so hard to find an island. The game is relaxing but it is so hard to find an island. When I finished the prologue and finished my first game it said that I got in 80,505 place so you should have way less people play in each round and when I finished my first round it said that the next round is in an hour. So maybe you should think twice before getting this app.

Increases anxiety and not very zen to me sorry. I don’t understand what is “zen” about this, every time I try to do something you have to build something, get something, find something, get rid of something else, find weird things that I don’t know what they do yet and just super frustrating. I guess it could be good I just don’t know what’s going on half the time.

Great Concept. I got this game recently and I love the fact that you can play competitively by finding the island or you can just relax and do some fishing. That said, there are a few thing that would be great if they were added. - More boats - More missions - An easier way to get oysters - Varying rewards for individual fish (maybe orbs) - A friend system It would be awesome if some of my suggestions were implemented into the game, either way I still love playing!

A zen joy. I only checked out this game because of the 1 logo icon. It looked pretty and stood out among all the other apps. The game has not disappointed it is a little silly but I like the exploratory nature and the fun fishing.

Not much to do once you’ve found the island.. So my first game I came in with 2 hours remaining which meant I was farrrrr from being number 1. I was 600 something. The rewards are bad. They say it’s not pay to win but one of the passes gets you a boat with ice breaking and whirpool immunity which could make or break a run. To buy a similar boat with oysters would take a very long time in game. If it was get an oyster 1 per x actions then maybe. But orbs for example: 1 oyster was 50 orbs then 100 now 500 I can only imagine it keeps going up. That makes farming oysters hard to do. When you need to spend on flares you just end up breaking even. You should be able to find crates on the open sea with flares in them or something. Leave oysters for cosmetics

Very enjoyable and relaxing so far. I’ve only had this game for a couple of hours now and I find a very beautiful and peaceful game. However, I find it difficult to find oysters, so maybe if you could make it a little easier that would be great! Other than that keep up the good work! :)

Really cool concept. I have never played a game like this before. It’s simple, easy, yet has the twist of mini challenges while you complete the main goal of finding the island! Nice work!! A++++ 💯💯

Good game, possible bug?. I think this game does a great job at keeping me entertained and relaxed, however I did end up spamming each flare to see what they did and I ended up with 2 waypoint flares, not a big deal I just wish I had a way to delete them or remove them from the hud. Other than that very nice visuals.

Guys, a tutorial is a tutorial. So many people are talking about how the tutorial makes the game unplayable... excuse me, what? You’re all like “if this guy would go away, then it’d be fun”. Need flash: he goes away. Just play through the tutorial

Decent Game. Same people always find the island no matter how fast you are and no matter flares used. Should be an island limit per player imo instead of the top players always being able to get to the island first. Also… flares led me back and forth in two completely opposite directions when trying to find an island.

Great!. This game is great, it has so much potential to be even better. The game play is smooth and neat, the only thing that glitched, or maybe i just can't figure it out, is the buoy would not show its distance sometimes when i moved away from it.

Great game with one issue that made me super bummed out.. The game is really relaxing and I don’t feel upset when I lose - and once I figured out you could buy stuff for your boat, I started to grind oysters for the course lock ability. However, when I try to purchase it it simply told me acquisition failed.

Game gets old quick. It’s a brilliant game concept but poorly executed. There is very little gameplay and it’s super slow paced. The same person comes in first every single game and I’m assuming it’s because he payed to win with a better boats. I will edit my review once the game finally shows some progress. Reading the reviews I do have to say tho that the developer team is very adamant about responding and that shows a very good sign for the future .

Love game!!! Slight suggestion. Just want to say LOVE the game. Love how peaceful and chill the game is and I love the concept. Just wanted to make a suggestion on one thing that should be added… a bridge! That can connect island blocks. I think that would really go with and add the island theme. I just hate using different colored blocks to use as a bridge to connect my little islands.

Love this but need help!. This game is adorable & addicting! I played it all day yesterday and when I tried to open the app it tells me my Wi-Fi isn’t connected- I know it is but I tried turning it off and still said the same thing. I want to keep playing but the app won’t open!

Awesome game but crashes often. I just want to say the game is awesome, BUT it does crash at the worst moments. It could be that I have an older phone. I don’t want to give up on this game so I hope it gets fixed soon! Anyway, Happy Season and good job so far!

Plain boring disguised as Zen. I get that this is trying to be a calm game about exploring the seas, but all I experienced was worrying about my flares trying to avoid whirlpools, and being confused about certain things, maybe if you wanted to make this easier add interesting mechanics that makes me wanna play more, I don’t like to play games where I’m just holding a button in a certain direction waiting to find an island

I was trapped. I fell in love with this fascinating geometric shape at the first sight in the AppStore. But I was trapped in the launch screen (That good-looking low poly landscape) for about 3 minutes and still remained no response. Does this game need higher phone performance or network access? Please I really want to enjoy this game😢 (Run on iPhone 6s Plus/iOS 13.6)

Definitely casual. But you have to pay attention. I wish you could get rid of the little man at the bottom giving you suggestions. But I’m pumped to finally get an island. You need to really use the flares to find them. Pizza slices 3 distance 1.

Revolves around miles traveled.. There’s oysters for upgrades. They give you like 8 oysters every 6 hours when then reset the stats. You can also fish for oysters. So you can easily purchase all the upgrades. After purchasing all the upgrades, I’m level 4, with 200 miles to travel before I’m level 5, and I need to be level 10 to qualify for the boat I want. This means I will have to travel like 5000 miles to get to level 10, when I have bought everything the game has to offer at 600 miles. So, either get ready to just hold one direction for several weeks, or get ready to give up. Up until this travel restriction before getting better boats, this was fun. A really good game. It just needs more upgrades, more stuff to see, etc.

So much potential. I love the new update! It’s really cool to have your own island. Hopefully you guys continue to add more content. It would be great to see you guys do more with the fishing. Maybe track the caught fish and eat or sell/trade for items. Boat upgrades? Thanks for the cool game!

A Great Game. I though that this was a overall amazing game it’s very relaxing and really helps with stress and I would recommend it to anybody wanting a fun game
