Can’t progress. Beautiful but every time I open it it starts over :/

Glitched!. A remarkable game that I’d love to play through. But, each time I play it, my game is not saved and I have to start over again each time. Please fix!

Game starts at beginning each time. Unplayable.

What to do?. I’m confused -what am i supposed to be doing? Am i supposed to splat the swan? Is there a door? How do i get to the next level?

Magical but No Save. Like all of Annapurna’s games, this one is pure genius. Never seen anything else like it on the App Store. I would give it five stars and more if the developers would just please please please please add a save feature. I have found two game breaking bugs that caused the game to quit and I had to start all over again. Very frustrating.

Beautiful and inventive. This is a really interesting game with great storytelling throughout. I did consult a walkthrough a few times, and I sometimes found it hard to maneuver, but over all it was very interesting and I am glad I finished it. Would get more games from this developer.

Masterpiece. This game is a masterpiece, this port is near perfect, it's 4 star because in chapter 8 (Seawall), the second bridge you climb under and drop down to another bridge, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to not fall from the vines in to the water. I spent over an hour trying to get across, I've beaten the game on PS, I watched a walk through in case I was going crazy, but it has to be a game error preventing me from crossing.

Unfinished swan. I have tried to play this app several times for several hours and every time I stop playing it and then go back to play it it starts over every time. I really want to like it but the frustration is to much!

An Absolute Winner!. Annapurna never misses with any of the games it publishes, and The Unfinished Swan is no exception. This game from Giant Sparrow is one of the best examples in recent memory that invokes the player’s imagination. The story is well told with fun twists and turns leading up to a heartwarming conclusion that will leave you feeling good for a long time after finishing. Don’t miss this!

Starts so promising, gets undoable. I absolutely LOVED the first few sections of this game. I could not put it down- the gameplay is so unique, the art so beautiful. Then I hit the scaffolding section, which requires superhuman precision in order to jump correctly. Either I can find a teenager to play this section of the game for me, or I can quit. So disappointed that what started as a truly original world-exploring puzzle game devolved into a dime-a-dozen precision jumping game. So I probably won’t finish the game, not because I don’t want to, but because it’s boring to fall off a tiny plank of wood 200 times. Too bad.

Super imaginative. After reading the other reviews, I wanted to mention that the game automatically saves now. The bridge people complained about did seem a little glitchy, but I was able to fiddle with it a little, clinging to the side, then moving across from the left side to the right side. It only took 5, maybe 10 minutes max, to get it to work. Everything else in the game worked well. I can’t underscore enough how imaginative the game is. Each chapter adds something completely new.

Unplayable. The game was fine until the second bridge in the lighthouse section where the vines don't support you. I tried the game in my phone and my iPad. There's no way to move forward and no help. A big disappointment.

Backbone doesn’t support game, but controller works. This game is supported by controller already, it just needs to be recognized by backbone as being supported

I loved this game. I saw somebody play it on YouTube and I loved the gameplay and I really wanted to be able to play it for myself but I could not get it because I didn’t have enough money and the right gaming console so thank you so much for making it come to the apple store I also loved what remains of Edith Finch it was really good same with donut county and journey I also saw it played by the same person on YouTube who also played this game his channel is stampylongnose

Gorgeous game rendered unplayable - Can’t Save!. Great concept. Beautiful visuals. Fun gameplay. The only issue is that you can’t save the game. Who has time to play a game all the way through in one sitting!? Please fix and I’ll update my review.

Bravo. The best mobile release I have played this year. Creative, lighthearted, fit for all audiences. Takes a while to finish the story and has postgame replay value.

The Unfinished Game.. Seems there’s a controller bug in the game that’s keeping me from crossing 2nd bridge in The Sea level. No matter how much flora is covering the span I fall off 1/3 of the way. Screen flickers befor it happens. Would really like to finish the game. It’s superb in every other respect

Game doesn’t save. So frustrating. Each time I play the game it starts over from the beginning. Pretty upsetting considering I paid for the game.... other than that an interesting game format.

It Doesn’t Save Your Place?. I Want To Pick Up Where I Left Off. If I have to put the game down, and I put it off in the [background, not closing it]... I have to start over. I don’t have that kind of time for a game. I have a life to live too. I know the story line. I only needed to hear it once. I want to pick up where I left off.

Fantastic game. First I want to make it clear that this game DOES in fact have a save system. It’s checkpoint based so I’m assuming those who claimed the game lacked one didn’t get to the first checkpoint. (Which took me like 15 minutes.) The gameplay is original. I love the idea of having to paint the level to see where you are going. And it never seems to repeat itself. Every chapter gives you different tools and a different environment for you to use them on. The storytelling reminds me of the books my mom and dad used to read to me when I was very young. Oh how absorbed I would get into the simple stories they would tell. It’s a gentle reminder of what it’s like to be a little kid. And we all need that kind of nostalgia every now and then. This is very much a game that benefits from immersion. I recommend grabbing some headphones and finding a hour or two just to binge through multiple chapters. As you play you will find and collect balloons that you can spend to get a bunch of neat stuff like concept art and a water/ink hose. All of the balloons are hidden with various degrees of difficulty. You don’t need to get any of the balloons to beat the game, but it’s fun to find them as you play. That’s about everything that comes to mind. It’s a classic in my book. I just wish I played it when I was younger. I bet I would’ve liked it. 5/5

Beautiful but issues. It’s a very charming and fun game, but i had the game downloaded and made sure it was saved/went back to menu but a few hours later of not playing all of my progress was gone. Also little bugs showing up. I have a very recent ios and this game is a few years old so was a bit confused and certainly frustrated by that.

Refund. The game crashes and I want my refund, and nothing is happening.

Unique. Gotta give credit to the developers of Edith Finch for not milking their success with a million sequels and instead making another completely unique and original narrative game. So many beautiful spaces to explore here! Ignore the negative reviews that say the game doesn’t save. It saves whenever you see a new chapter sign.

Amazing game but THERE IS NO SAVE. This is a beautiful game, and I loved playing it on the PlayStation. Sadly, there is no save function on iOS. Even if you don’t close out the app or restart your device, when you pull the game back up you will be back at the very beginning of the game and sitting through the opening dialogue once again.

Lost progress. I was very happy with this game, currently on chapter 5 and all of a sudden all of my progress was lost. Is there anything I could to to recover it?

Fun storybook adventure. Each chapter has a different theme that changes gameplay and challenges. Face them with an open mind and rely on your intuition. The controls are reminiscent of console controls as it was originally for Playstation so it’s helpful if you have good coordination - my teen son did have to help me when I got stuck in the woods. Overall, it gave me many days of creative play in a quirky fairytale.

Tutorial?. You know what would be nice? A tutorial would be nice, so we would actually know how to play, and interact with, this game. All I’m doing in splattering paint everywhere. I can sorta make out a door, but have no idea how to interact with said door to go through it. I’m at the very first thing you get when the intro is over. Even if this were a free app, since it has very different mechanics, a tutorial would be expected. Seeing as this is a paid app, a tutorial is mandatory. I really wish I hadn’t wasted my money.

So good. I love the story line, the puzzles and searching for balloons. For those people who say they don’t understand what to do, it’s pretty simple. Try a few things out. If your still stuck, watch a walkthrough on YouTube. It’s enjoyable. I love that there was beauty and also places that were a little scary. It was amazing. Totally recommend.

A glitch?. It was enjoyable until I get to the second monkey bar bridge. No matter what I do I just drop into the water before midway, and my screen keeps flickering there as well. I can’t pass that bridge. Is that a glitch?

SHOULD BE 5 STARS BUT IT ISN'T. NO SAVE GAME? You have to start from the beginning if you close or the game sits in the background too long? Really??? The devs have heard this complaint over and over and haven't fixed it. Do they think starting from the beginning over and over is interesting gameplay? Do they think we don't have anything better to do? Or do they not care? As good as this game is it might be one to pass on. Pretty disappointing from a consistently great game developer. I'll happily revise this review to the 5 stars it should be when save game is added.
