iPad. Doesn’t work on my iPad

Great puzzle archive, but crashes all the time. When it’s working, I really enjoy this app - vast collection of puzzles to choose from and some nice features for those of us who need a little hint now and again. Unfortunately, the app freezes often. I have to force quit and restart all the time. I’ve been using it on an iPhone 7 - admittedly, older tech - but other apps on my phone don’t freeze and crash like this. I’d really like to support The Guardian by purchasing a subscription for the puzzles, but I’m just not sure if I can justify the cost given how often the app crashes.

Does not work. Screen is mostly unresponsive, had to quit and restart multiple times for it to allow me to sign in. I’d hoped it was included with my Guardian subscription but apparently not. How much does it cost? This info is apparently on a need to know basis — can’t find the costs in the app or in the App Store. Anyhow I never could get any puzzles to open so I don’t know if it’s any good. Deleting.

Wonderful archive. Great app! There are so many games available in this archive and the app works flawlessly and smoothly.

App not working. Just got a brand new iPad mini 6. Downloaded this app. The list of crosswords showed fine, but when I tapped on a crossword all that came up was a completely blank screen. Uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times, nothing. I hope they can fix this soon.

Content good. App is sub par. This would be at least 4 stars if it made ANY attempt at all to save my progress. Which it does not. I like these puzzles but generally enjoy solving them just once.

Unusable. It freezes each time I open it, so can’t even play. Not ready for public consumption. I look forward to it when it is.

Works Great. Works like a charm for me. I don’t have any of the problems cited in other reviews. All the Guardian puzzles are available and the puzzle navigation is smooth, unlike when I try to do the Times puzzles in their app.

Doesn’t remember settings. The app doesn’t remember any settings you select to do things like turn off the timer; you have to re-do it every time you open the app back up which is super annoying.

Keyboard for Crosswords?. This app would be much better if it remembered the preferred settings and allowed a Bluetooth keyboard to be used. Probably will not renew,

Guardian Puzzles worth a look.. This app is close to what I have been waiting for since the first iPad came out. I love all kinds of crossword puzzles with the cryptics being favourite. Having “quiptic” versions for beginners is excellent. I don’t mind paying for this app. I would, however, like to be able to use it in landscape view. I would also like to be able to save my options instead of having to reset them for each puzzle.

App keeps freezing. Great app which I really enjoy. I just updated it and am happy to see new puzzles added but the app just keeps freezing. I must have shut it down and reopened it twenty times but to no avail. Is this a problem with the new update

Great app. Excellent app. Play Together is a fantastic feature. If only there was Dark Mode and a no-sleep setting, it would be unbeatable!

Another subscrion required. I subscribe to the guardian and can do all of these puzzles via the guardian app. So why do i need another subsceiprion to so the same puzzles in this app

Bad keyboard. Good app, only let down by not using the standard iOS keyboard. Bizarre that you’d make it easier to make typos in a crossword app…

Really enjoy this app but…. I’m having awful technical issues with this app! I love the games but it often crashes and I get a blank screen so I delete the app, re-download it re-engage my subscription and it works for a short time until today. It’s no longer working and saying that I’m not connected to the network and the app thinks it’s 13 February. So annoying!

Good but.... I clicked on the year option by mistake (default) so am stuck with it, which is okay - however... Desperately needs global settings Crossword clues split over two entries should flow to the second part automatically How can I configure email? Otherwise, happy to support the Grauniad

Please fix options. This app is great for sudoku, with different levels and a great hint system. But it desperately needs a global settings function. I like the timer off (timed games give me the heebies) and the conflict catcher on. Every single time I start a new game I have to change the settings and then click apply. It’s so annoying. I spent 20 minutes to day on a puzzle that was full of conflicts because I’d accidentally clicked close instead of apply and thought conflicts were being caught. I’m still in the trial period and will not subscribe until this is fixed.

Subscription issue. I paid for the subscription and after while the app ceased recognizing that I had a subscription. Contacted the Guardian customer support and they told me they were looking into it, but after a month I’ve received no support or offer to refund.

No keyboard support on iPad. ignores keyboard and wastes half the screen on an in-app keyboard.
