DJI Fly Comments & Reviews 2026
Great app but lacks features it needs. DJI has built the mavic mini as a solid drone especially for its 249 gram weight. It is incredibly stable in wind. For the price it is lacking features that it is certainly capable of like active tracking or digital zoom. I understand this model is entry level but it should be able to do anything the hardware allows. The mavic mini might get a patch for this but should have had this included on day one. The app is also great for the user and is easy to use, but could be better optimized for the flagship phones. Video uploading could also be made faster. Overall it is a good bang for your buck and we’re looking forward to the above improvements from DJI.
Bad user interface. I have Mavic air 2 and couldn’t figure out how to change the resolutions on QuickShots. Apparently each fly modes have their own separate settings. I was having my drone on ground and went to setting. Didn’t see resolutions settings for QuickShots. It REQUIRES you to fly in the air in order to change camera setting. That’s stupid. Also even tho your drone in the air but if you were on photo mode, you can’t change the resolutions of QuickShots because you are not on QuickShots mode! So you are forced to change the mode to QuickShots before changing the camera setting. It is not like options are grayed out so you know you can’t change the setting under certain fly modes. The options are not even visible so you wouldn’t know how you change the setting. This is absolutely stupid. So basically each time you change your fly mode you have to adjust your camera setting.
Would be 4 star but.... I just carved up my legs running through the woods to try to locate my Mini visually and guide it back to safety because this crappy app decided to drop connection to my phone for no reason. I tried to reconnect the app, and eventually it reset itself to the point of my having to re-do the ENTIRE configuration from the new user point- WHILE MY DRONE WAS STILL AIR BORN AND IN DANGER! Thankfully I and some family were able to eventually spot it and I flew it back - the drone never once lost connection to the RC thankfully, or I’d be out $400. Thankfully we were in a location that was quiet enough that we could hear the drone. It is unacceptable for the software to be this fluky. I was not even close to max distance, had no hills or structured between myself and the drone. If trees weren’t in the way I wouldn’t have lost visual, which is saying something because the mini is small and hard to spot. So many positives about the mini! Fix the app!
I am having a bad experience.. I love this drone and think it is amazing, the thing is, I am having an issue adjusting pixels and fps. I am fully up to date in the app hardware things like control and drone and on the app on the AppStore. The issue is, I can’t get fps or a way to swap the pixels. I was very confused since I have seen reviews of this fantastic update and I couldn’t get myself to actually get to use the setting. You know that rectangle above the thing to record or take a photo. Well it is just a camera icon. I have asked reddit and I just can’t get it to work. If the developer can respond to me how to change the pixels and the fps, please tell me! Other than that, it is an amazing drone and I truly recommend it to beginner pilots.
Crashes constantly. I use my drone for work, to inspect buildings. On start up, the app constantly crashes. We now take a running bat on how many times it will crash before it actually opens. We spend more time trying to get the app up and running then we do actually flying. Today for example the app crashed 12 times before it finally opened properly. I’ve contacted DJI support and they’ve walked me through everything and nothing has helped. It’s definitely not isolated to my iPhone 11 Pro, we have the exact same problem on a 12 Pro and an iPad. Please DJI fix this app. I only need to take about a dozen aerial photos which takes about 60 seconds. It’s horrible having to keep trying the app sometimes for 10 minutes in order to do 60 seconds worth of work.
Disappointed. I have the Mavic mini and I absolutely love it, I’ve taken amazing photos and videos, but after an hour long session, before I could download them onto my phone, the app crashed, and I lost all of the hours previous work, usually I would just replace battery, but both of them were on super low juice, keep in mind I was on wifi as well as using an IPhone XR so it wasn’t the phone. I’m super upset because I put in all that work. The customer service at DJI is also super upsetting, I had to wait an additional month on getting my drone because at first they lost it, then they “forgot to ship it” which makes no sense at all. I had to wait numerous hours just to talk to someone who couldn’t answer a simple question “where is my package” I’m not one to complain, and always try to find the good, but the over all experience with DJI and the app were incredibly upsetting. The drones are amazing but other than that, not so great.
Works for Me. I use this app with the Mini 2 and it works well for me. Some of the settings are a bit counterintuitive and buried, but once you get used to how the app works it’s actually pretty easy to use. I do wish the moving map’s size could be customized further. It would be ideal to have the map take up a full 1/3 of the screen while the live camera feed would take up the other 2/3. As it is the map is either very small in the corner or fills the entire screen, regulating the camera feed to the small corner.
Getting better. Update: The May 2022 update and firmware seems to have fixed the problem from my original review. There is still a strange glitch when adjusting the gimbal settings in the app. The switch on the RC needs to be changed to another speed and then back before the settings get linked to the drone. Other than that, all seems good to go. Original: The Air 2S still can’t do manual ISO settings for video. What good is a fully manual mode to prevent the video image from automatically changing exposure when you can’t even set the ISO manually? Fix this. For the price I paid for this drone this issue should have been dealt with a long time ago.
Please Add Audio. My first drone was in total about $200. It was simple and the app worked well WITH AUDIO. This was about $150 more in total, simple to use, a little extra steps in the app, and NO AUDIO! I’ve seen forums saying use voice memos/audio recorder, but the voice memos does not work when running the app. Please just add the function to record sound from your device while flying. It’s a simple thing that many users will appreciated. As far as the drone, the footage lags while recording and when watching and sometimes the footage gets blurry. Not sure why, I’m recording at a lower rate (1080, 25fps)
Disappointed with Limited Photo and Video Transfer Functionality. I recently purchased the DJI Mini Pro and decided to leave a review regarding the app’s functionality. Unfortunately, I am quite disappointed with the limited capabilities when it comes to transferring photos and videos. One of the main reasons I opted for the Mini Pro was to capture stunning aerial shots and easily transfer them to my phone for editing and sharing. However, the app’s current limitations prevent me from doing so effectively. I find it perplexing that I am unable to transfer any of my photos or videos from the drone to my device. Without the ability to easily access and utilize my captured media, the app feels quite useless in terms of enhancing my overall experience with the DJI Mini Pro. I was expecting a seamless transfer process, allowing me to enjoy and share my aerial footage effortlessly. I sincerely hope that the app developers will address this issue and introduce an update that enables smooth and convenient transfer of photos and videos. It would greatly enhance the value of the DJI Mini Pro and make it a more enjoyable and user-friendly experience for all its users. Overall, I believe that improving the app’s photo and video transfer functionality would significantly elevate the overall user experience and ensure that the DJI Mini Pro lives up to its potential as a reliable and high-quality drone.
Great product that you can’t count on when needed.. It is such a shame such a well developed product is made in such a way that the DJI geofencing stops legitimate use. This is a product that you can’t count on using. Again today I was stopped from taking off because of a “You need authorization to takeoff” message loop. Luckily I had my Mavic2Pro with a software hack so I could use it. I will never purchase another DJI product unless there is a software hack available to stop the DJI geofencing. Then I will still look for alternate products first. As a commercial pilot I have to jump through less hoops to fly a real aircraft. I don’t need DJI grounding products I spend several hundreds of dollars to purchase. No more purchases from me DJI.
Great app. Not THAT bad!. First of all, I don’t why there are so many bad reviews on this app. This is a great app compared to some of the other off-brand ones I have used. Second, this app has saved my Mini SE hundreds of times. It shows battery life (other apps won’t even do that), it shows my distance, and height. It has a map that shows where my drone is. It shows GPS status, aircraft status, and so much more that makes flying so much easier. Obviously, a lot goes into flying a drone, and it will drain your phone battery. If you have an older phone, of course it will overheat. This is a very powerful app that requires lots of energy. I don’t blame DJI for this. If you are super worried about this, get a controller with a built-in screen! That’s why DJI makes some drones that way. I truly believe DJI is trying to make things a lot easier, and they have helped me several times. Bottom line, ignore the other negative reviews, DJI has updated this app quite a bit, knocking out the other little bugs. I do believe you won’t have much of problem using this app. Also, if you have limited camera controls, that is probably because your drone probably doesn’t support it. My Mini SE doesn’t support aperture, D-Log, or panorama like some of the other professional ones. Don’t blame the app for this, you simply have a simpler drone. That’s all.
Great concept and features marred by bugs. Great app - but buggy on iOS. 1. App periodically crashes especially during file transfer mode 2. Irregular order to downloads of files. They show up on my phone photos app all over the place, not chronological. 3. Only the original photos have location tags - the enhanced versions don’t. 4. Most frustratingly, the app creates multiple copies of the same ‘quality enhanced’ photos on my phone at seemingly random times/order/numbers. Ie the first few photos I take on a flight will have one enhanced version created, the the next several will have UP TO FIVE OR SIX REDUNDANT QUALITY ENHANCED PHOTOS OF THE SAME IMAGE created on my phone - often interspersed between other photos - which makes deduplication extremely frustrating. I ended up with more duplicate photos of the same picture than original photos themselves. Please fix this is is extremely frustrating and wastes space. Otherwise great app.
Fly App no longer compatible with phone. My phone used to be compatible with the Fly app, but at some point DJI in their infinite wisdom updated the app, and it is no longer compatible with my phone. DJI, do you expect people to run out and buy a new phone each time you update your app? If they are going to pursue this course, they should make the Go4 app compatible with the newer drones like the Air 2S. UPDATE: I just tried flying my Air2S with the stock controller and my iPad, since my phone is no longer supported. Every 2 minutes, the screen would go blank, and the app would close while the drone was flying. It's very difficult and dangerous to fly a drone with no screen and telemetry data. I'd give DJI zero stars if I could.
Mavic mini favorite drone, best drone and app for money. The most wonderful companion app for my brand new Mavic Mini 1. I absolutely love the 2.7k resolution, highly underrated and completely saves about 1/3rd of my memory when compared to 4k 30fps. I would purchase the new beautiful Mini 2, but 4k just is not enough for me to upgrade. My brand new iPhone and 1,300$ MacBook Pro doesn’t even display 4k, so my need for Mini 2 with 4k is literally pointless. Only positive would be its technology longevity. Anyone will be happy with either drone and DJi good job on your best app ever. DJI fly is perfect for beginners, which is why it’s so accessible. Simplicity = Superb. Thank You DJI, once again. I can’t wait for next update. DJI for Life. Thanks for listening and download “DJI FLY” APP right now.
Mavic Air 2. Thank You so much DJI for creating such an awesome product as this Mavic Air 2. I purchased it over a month ago and it is loaded with so many features that seem to be flawless!! I am the owner of a Licensed Home Inspection company and this product is a valuable worthwhile tool. The photos and video are absolutely perfect for this business. I can zoom in on details as if I’m standing there touching the roof and flashings. I highly recommend this easy to use Mavic Air to beginners as well as professionals. I started using it within minutes out of the box and downloading the DJI fly app and following the instructions in the app. Thank You. And I also love how it holds up in the wind.
Easy to use but many features missing, please update this app!. I love DJI products. Hands downs the best for your money you’ll get. Especially with the Mavic air 2. Love the drone, have no problems with it, and I love the app, very easy to navigate but there’s a ton of features missing that would make things so much easier to use. The gimbal speed and smoothness needs to be updated. It’s pretty hard to get a smooth shot when rotating that wheel and there’s no way to change that. Add a few more shortcuts on the front screen and make use of the FN button as a triple click for all 3 options! Also the sounds on the remote are very loud and obnoxious at times, if there’s a way to lower the volume for that, it would help a ton. Adding 4K to every option would be amazing too! Lastly I would highly suggest using more of the features from the previous app integrated onto this new app! DJI, if you’re reading this, I love you and love your products but please adjust your app to make flying a much pleasant one. I, and a few others will re-rate your app to 5 stars if these fixes are done! Anyways happy flying everyone! :)
Love my drone but have issues with the new update. Love my air 3 but since the last update when I do a quick shot rocket after it’s finished with the quick shot rocket. The camera points to the sky instead of centering itself. Please fix this problem in a update. Please fix this bug issue or problem with app. This makes 3 products I returned to the store because of this issue after installing the app update. It is very annoying
Not my first drone but first DJI drone. Been using app for a couple days now and has no issues, it’s very user friendly if you have never flown a drone before. It’s a nice feature that before you fly in any area it will ask you to ask for permission to fly if the area is restricted. It’s a very fast process and makes sure you are flying within the rules, so you don’t get a fine flying were your not supposed to. The in editor built into the app is also very easy to you with many features for quick edits if you wanted to post something quick on social media since it only exports files in 1080p. So if you want to get the full 2.7k resolution, you will need to edit on another app or on your computer which is fine.
Bring app album back. This is a great little app, in addition to flight controls it has a surprisingly robust & versatile media editor, capable of creating stunning videos in no time & with zero effort. I do have my wishlist of small feature enhancements (e.g., allow editing text in templates), but overall I’m a great fan. Today, however, my enthusiasm for the app is overshadowed by the sorrow of the app album removed in the latest revision. It used to be a great way to not pollute my iCloud-synced library with raw footage, and is now forcing me to change my established processes. Please, bring it back! I will add the 5th star when you do…
Dji Mavic Air 2 almost killed somebody. DJ I Mavic air two almost killed somebody the other day we flew out of 60 feet we went to the fly app to change it to apas. ModeI thought the drone floor up we didn’t even touch the sticks that thing flew like 40 mph into a building very dangerous I do wedding photography imagine what would’ve happened so The gimbal broke so did the rest of the drone luckily I have the refresh care highly recommend that there is no reason for his drone to fly away when you are not using the joysticks at a high rate of speed as a dead highly disappointed $50 on delivery probably another $69 on the first drone replacement which should’ve never happened total malfunction other than that I love the drone only thing I don’t like it doesn’t have sound but I’ll get over it totally awesome drone they just need to work out the kinks that’s $1200 gone down the drain if you don’t get the warranty FYI
Limited Manual Camera Setting. I love all things DJI. The Air 2 is a vast improvement over the original Mavic AIR. However, I don’t like that it requires a dedicated app and, therefore, not compatible with the DJI Go4 app. More bothersome is the lack of manual controls over the camera. Specifically, one cannot change the aperture, which on the Mavic Air 2 is fixed at f2.8. You can bracket the exposure up to 2 stops. Moreover, the user cannot set ISO. The only function one can control manually is shutter speed. This is all great for one who wants to shoot in auto, and focus on flying. But, if one wants creative control over the look and feel of images and video, this is not the drone. One would have to buy the Mavic Pro. This drone is fun to fly, and the new Mavic Air 2S has some interesting new features, chief among which is a 1” CMOS censor. This is great for low light conditions and much sharper images and video, as well as more dynamic range. Still, manual camera controls are limited to selecting shutter speed.
Editing should be betters. So I am writing this because the application is VERY useful with simple transitions, but the problem is after you sit here for hours editing a magnificent video it has some malfunctioning dilemmas. It is consistently doing this. After export, your music will play but certain parts of the video will pause, or transition does not work, or better yet it exits the app without me wanting to and I lose all The work. I have been a solid dji fan and supporter for years. In fact, I seek to get a sponsorship. My fiancé and I are traveling the world during Covid with my mavic mini and mavic pro. But editing on this app needs to be fixed, if dji fix this, this app will be one of the best, as for simple Things it works. but right now, try clipping Together 20 or 30 shots and add sound track, you will have some tech issues. It’s not my phone got my phone is a brand new I phone pro max. I have tried with multiple devices, Same outcome. And lastly, for some reason the mavic mini loses connection randomly. I had to runt through traffic because it mysteriously decided to fly way high in the air on its own and land in the middle of the street? Why would this even be allowed? Completely hazardous. For some reason it is extremely limited. Why is this? Please fix this app so I can use this useful app for my edits. Will save me a lot of time and energy. Thank you
Great beginner app. This is a wonderful app for beginner drone operators. I just got my first drone and found this app straightforward and easy to fly my Mavic Mini. The app has everything that a novice operator would need to fly their drone without feeling overwhelmed with the telemetry data. The quick shots feature is especially helpful with getting very cinematic looking footage of the subject with just a couple taps in the app. I am (mostly) happy with what DJI has done with this app. There are however shortcomings. First, the quickshots are very limited in scope. Few other quick shots would have been nice. Also there is no subject tracking feature so the subject has to be stationary for the drone to capture them in quick shots. Thirdly, the RTH height is buried in the menus. Would be nice if I could set the RTH height prior to each flight depending on the surroundings I am flying in. I honestly think DJI should implement an advanced mode in the app that operator could switch to as they become more experienced. Hopefully they will continue to improve the functionality of this app.
Stuck FPV UPDATE. It took me forever to get the app to recognize the connection and start the firmware update which I had to charge everything fully for. Then the update started and I waited 30 min. Right when it was about to finish it came up with a prompt and stated that the update failed and you need to restart the update ( which is infuriating. So I hit restart update.... nothing happened and now it won’t even recognize the drone or try to initialize the update. What is wrong??? I just bought this drone and now I can’t even fly it!!? You need to make this much easier and release trouble shooting videos on this subject to be able to fix it. Or make the app ready to go with the FPV drone in the selection of drones to connect to.
1st time drone owner. So I have the Magic air 2. 1st drone and have spent 3 months flying and swimming it. Yes, I have dunked it in a pond in the first week. Pilot error. Followed online suggestions to douse it in alcohol it disperse the water. Everything is fine and performs as it should. I only use the battery that was in it at the time as a backup. I am guessing the manufacturer is expecting the product to eventually get wet and made safeguards in the product to make sure it can withstand 1 dunk. Needless to say I am hesitant to fly over big lakes where I couldn’t retrieve the drone. Great photos and flight experiences for me. Thanks DJI.
DJI is the best drone company, no doubt.. Earlier today, I bought my first ever DJI product- A mini SE. as an entry level drone, it is phenomenally good, DJI did not cheap out on anything and went above and beyond. I expected a cheap, low quality overrated product, but got something equal to multi thousand dollar drones, including a 3k camera, tracking, fly zone detection, auto land and takeoff, and a super good and high quality controller that all folds. The app is super user friendly, I feel like a pro after my first day with DJI! 11/10 company, these guys are overachievers in every way.
Confusing prompts, and no options to run on older version.. Getting through the permission screens can be a real nightmare. You can get through one, and still not be able to fly, and it can take a long while to figure out what you need to sign off on to allow you to fly. What the app needs you to do so you can fly is just too often confusing. Secondly, if you’re out in nature using your drone, you can get caught standing around waiting for a mandatory app refresh. Right now I’ve driven quite a ways out in the field and I can’t use my drone because it is forcing a refresh of the app. I’ve been waiting 15 minutes so far and it still isn’t working and I’m losing light.
Lost album function. I have used the DJI Fly app ever since I bought my drone 2 1/2 years ago and it has worked fine. However, with the latest update whenever I fly and take pictures or videos, I can no longer use the Album button. When I click the Album button, the app closes immediately. Now, if I want to access my Photos, I must manually remove the memory card, insert it in my laptop and download the pictures that way. It used to work so much better when you clicked Album, selected the photos you wanted, then simply downloaded them to your iPhone. But now I am being told that this app no longer works with most iPhone models. Please fix it so it works with my iPhone 13 Pro again! I tried to contact Support and got very little support.
Great app. Mavic Mini needs ActiveTrack support.. Let me start by saying that the app has been excellent to work with so far in my experience, especially now that support for manual exposure and white balance controls have been added for the Mavic Mini. (Those features should have been there from the start, but that’s another story.) With that being said, it baffles me that the Mavic Mini cannot use ActiveTrack. DJI has proven that the Mavic Mini is more than capable of tracking a target, as evident in the QuickShot modes. However, they refuse to just add support for ActiveTrack, supposedly since the lack of obstacle avoidance (OA) on the Mavic Mini is too much of a risk. If that’s the case, put a very clear and explicit warning about this risk on the screen whenever a user tries to use it. It’s really as simple as that; the user now can use this excellent feature on their Mavic Mini, and they are well aware of the risk they are taking by using it without OA. If the lack of OA is truthfully the only reason why DJI won’t support ActiveTrack on the Mavic Mini (and not because they are shafting users of features to give more inventive to buy the Mavic Air 2), I see no reason why this cannot be done. At the VERY least, give developers (like me) the ability to implement it themselves when the Mavic Mini SDK eventually comes out. TL;DR see title of review
Get rid of automatic phone charging. OK while it might be a nice feature to have a phone charging what happens is when I plug my iPhone 12 promax and after a few minutes the screen gets significantly darker because the phone is actually charging and putting out power at the same time as what I suspect if you can’t charge your phone before going out for fly then you know you need to get a separate device maybe but it does not need to be a feature because it interferes with my flight when the screen goes almost completely black and I can’t see anything
Amazing drone, great app with one major annoyance. I love my Mavic Mini! It’s a great starter drone. DJI has done a great job with this app, as it’s pretty intuitive and responsive. However, there’s one major annoyance: you CANNOT silence the low battery alarm. Instead, it just blares over and over again at you - starting from 20% - until you land the drone. I understand DJI did this for safety reasons but they absolutely MUST provide an option to acknowledge and then silence the alarm. The noise is so obnoxious that, for me, it basically renders 1/5 of the battery runtime useless, as I now try to land before I hear that awful alarm. I’ve read about people considering cutting the speaker wire to stop the alarm. DJI: you have an amazing product but you really need to listen to your users and provide the ability to silence the alarm! How about an option to hit OK when it first alerts on low battery?
Devices Overheating due to auto charging. Never have had any issues with the app until the 1.4.8 update. Now both my iPhone 12 and iPad Mini will overheat during flight from the automatic charging from the controller. First symptom is screen brightness gets reduced so much that it’s difficult to see the screen. The issue ends up causing the iPhone and iPad to shut down with a high temperature warning. Not only is this dangerous for flying, it is obviously causing overheating issues (and possibly killing battery longevity) to the devices resulting in them going into a “safe” mode by shutting down. DJI, please bring back the option to disable the charging feature. Also, need to fix the charging feature when active since it shouldn’t be overcharging our devices anyway. Please fix ASAP!!!
Great for beginners. The DJI fly app is vastly superior to any other drone app that I have ever used. The drone connects quickly, as well as finding GPS almost instantly. The camera modes are easy to use as well as having a demonstration video with each mode. The only thing that did not work as intended was the return to home feature. When taking off from near my house, flying around, then returning to home the drone would try to land on the roof of the house, which could cause problems. However the return to home feature worked at the soccer field behind our school with no issues. A great app for a great drone. DJI Mini Se
Reliable and Practical. I recently bought the Air2s and love it so far. It is designed to use this app. The reason why many are giving this app negative reviews is they don’t realize this app is slightly different for each drone E.g my 2s and my mini 2 both run the Dji fly I don’t have an adjustable aperture control on both my drones so of course there is gonna be no option But the New Mavic 3 has it so it has it Overall the app UI is very intuitive however sometimes the altimeter ( GPS ) shows negative (-) altitudes it gets a little bit confusing especially if your flying low This is just my review of the app
DJI go apps DON’T work. Fly app only for mavics. The DJI Fly app work just fine but DOESN’T support the phantom series just mavic series. In camera mode it won’t connect to the phantom. I tried the other DJI apps like DJI GO/DJI GO 4.0 for a couple hours to sign back into my old account then trying to create a another account and it’s TOTALLY impossible to get through the next steps no matter how difficult you set your password it just vanishes and got to constantly keep choosing a different password. Also by trying to get pass the password part you have to get pass the China Mainland password part which is just RIDICULOUS. Like China took over their apps and us US people can’t access their GO apps. They need the App Store to remove those apps or DJI FLY app if they drone company won’t let ALL different drones use that app. Me and my dad was trying to get back into flying our phantom 3 professional & phantom 4 two years later and now cannot access the DJI GO apps anymore we are currently stuck in a pickle in which app actually works for our drones. I wish anybody else that has the same issues as us to find a app that is compatible for their drones, it may end up being a off brand company app. I’ve tryed a few of those and NOTHING happened. Good luck you guy….
GEO Zone Unlocked, still not able to fly MA 2. Hands down the best drone I have used. Now that I said something nice, let’s get to the BS. I live next to a park that somehow is considered apart of an airports airspace. The airport is about 7-10 miles from my house, I get it. I go through the website and acquire the license to fly in the airport’s airspace. Get the MA2 Ready for take off, it’s showing no warning.... I select take off hold it down, release..... AUTHORIZATION ZONE, takeoff not permitted until unlocked. Go to the settings and the remote is unlocked showing the license, but it says the aircraft is disconnected. I have about an acre and half of land so it would be perfect to get more practice, but I can’t use the drone anywhere in my neighborhood. Including the medium sized park next to my house, although I have a license. Not to mention not being able to sign up for refresh within the 48 hour window which I tried to do more times than I care to admit. Oh and NO STREAMING ON THIS APP, But the other apps offer it. IM NOT SURE WHO is in charge of app development, but leaving this little feature off, is definitely worth termination. End rant-
Battery draining, phone overheating…. Primary complaint is DJI FLY, running on an iPhone 8 Plus, uses a massive amount of battery charge, overheats the phone and very quickly causes iOS to dim the display to avoid overheating. I’ve been flying an Air 2S with the FLY app for almost 2 years and none of the infrequent app updates have addressed this well-documented issue. We shouldn’t have to use chill packs to keep the display alive. Same phone used to fly Mavic Air with GO 4 exhibits none of the overheating issues. One other annoying “feature” is that FLY and GO 4 DJI flight records are incompatible with each other—other than flight time totals, the FLY app is unaware of GO 4 flights and the same the other way round. I was hoping the 1.7 update would fix the overheating issue, but sadly it did NOT. In the past, I never encountered the oft-reported video lag/freeze problem, but now that’s happening too. Working around this by killing/restarting the app is scary. And finally, we all know DJI never reads any of this.
Works intermittently. I just purchased my first drone and it’s been loads of fun and very satisfying! It is the mini 4pro and I think it’s a decent drone for a hobby user, and I’m satisfied with the quality of the video for posting on social media. The only thing that’s bugging the heck out of me is that I have to constantly delete the app from my phone and reinstall it in order to Download videos from the remote. I don’t know if this has anything to do with me traveling from country to country through Europe, but it’s really annoying and I hope that whatever this bug is can be fixed. Thank you!
Doesn’t show my iPhone in the correct location.. DJI Fly map is a bit inaccurate. If I sit in my kitchen, their map places my phone at a house behind ours, about 150 away. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am to find that my phone is being located at a house that sits partly inside restricted air space(due to a local muni airport). Does this mean I will have to walk across our street to unlock my drone? All other maps - Google, Apple, even AirMap - place my phone spot on at our house. Meanwhile, after spending some time searching around, I have yet to find how to obtain “real-name authentication” in order to test my craft in the park across the street. This is not the easiest program to navigate.
Almost perfect but lacking one thing.. Takes a moment to get used to everything just like any other intuitive app. However could use one more simple on screen feature. That would be a gimbal reset or gimbal position control. I was thinking a simple on screen button that you could tap once for either reset, or tap multiple times for like a 45*degree position, vertical or birds eye. I hate that I have to navigate through settings to find the gimbal reset button after doing a rocket quick shot with my DJI magic mini 2. Please incorporate this as I know many of us professional and amateur drone users would be so grateful!
Good but lacks some features.. The major issue is the lack of Auto ISO function when shooting in Manual “Pro” mode, like the DJI Mimo app already has. With drones, it is very difficult to control the Aircraft while at the same time controlling the camera exposure settings, so an AutoISO with much finer (gradual steps) would assist to make it much easier to shoot Video while maintaining a specific shutter speed. The Quickshots function could be better by having an option hidden for advanced users, to let them manually start and stop the video recording independently. Add a Quickshot mode in which the drone simply goes up and do a 360 slow smooth panning, user controls camera tilt. Let advanced users store custom camera and aircraft settings in the Cine, Normal and Sport switch. Just like camera memory recall settings. This only exist partially. Would be great to have slower video frame rates, like 15, 12, 10, 6, 2 fps. There is a big gap between regular video and time lapse. There is no option to shoot Raw images only and this format could optionally use a lousy DNG compression.
Mavic Air 2 & Mavic Mini. Too many complaints about the app. Just like when the DJI go app came out, people complained and didn’t like it. Now they think it’s a great app. DJI is always improving their drones capabilities and software/firmware. Only issue I have with the actual app is the GPS satellite connection size. Even with my IPad Mini 5, it’s really small. Only other suggestion is for them to add basic waypoints. It should not be too hard and I hope they do an update with that feature. I also have a Mavic Mini. I don’t see why after one year now they haven’t added active Track. Overall great app.
Great App/ Emergency Stop. Since getting my DJI Mavic Air 2, I’ve been very happy with it as well as the app. Everything is easy to get to, find, and change according to your conditions as well as preference. My main reason for writing this review however, is to see if it is possible for the developers to add a Emergency Stop button near the Take Off button inside the DJI app. I say this to say that, a week ago I had an incident with my drone in which it crashed. The problem I had was, in the crash it ended up on its back with the blades still going.. causing more damage to the drone itself, as well as the propellers. I wasn’t able to grab it with my hands, and was in to much of a panic looking through the app to figure out how to QUICKLY stop it. Thus, the thought came to mention, and hope that DJI would here me out in developing an app update and drone software update to support this, as I know I am not the only one that has had this problem. Or, if that situation occurs, being able to stop it before further damage can be done.
Difficult to go from one drone to another & the options buried in menus. Not always intuitive and no SDK for Mavic 3? 😡 Even though it’s been some time now that the Fly app has been out, and DJI has added some good features, it is not easy enough to get to the features! Since many options are buried in menus, and some in strange places as well (like battery is under “Safety” 😳) it can be very difficult to understand whether or not a specific option or setting is possible with different drones, especially when going from one drone to the next. It’s also very difficult to understand why, after spending so much money on the Mavic 3, that they chose to withhold the fact that they will apparently never come out with an SDK that allows us the ability to use that drone to the max. Do they really think I’m going to sell this one just to by the appropriate Mavic 3, just to be dissatisfied again when they leave some other feature out? Especially with the issues with not being able to use DJI everywhere because of the China connection? Unless DJI listens to its users and provides an SDK for the Mavic 3, basic customer loyalty, I’m setting my flying sights somewhere else for my next drone purchase. 😢 Sad but true!
App crashed but the drone had safety features. I had been flying the mini 2 over a local Walmart and I was gonna take a pano shot but the app crashed this happened on a 5 or 4 year old iPad so it probably was the iPads fault. Luckily the done did not in fact crash. But it was still in the airsince the controller was on it did not Return to where I turned it on/home point. I was able to reconnect with the drone and get it back onto the ground safely. It’s battery was low however though if it’s battery got to low it would have just automatically returned to home. Moral of the story don’t use low end devices to fly it.
Album not working for Neo. When I first used this app the album feature worked fine. Now the album just shows blank thumbnails. I’m using it with the Neo. Trying to download using quicktransfer never works. The only way to see the footage is to use a cable to my phone. This behavior has been ongoing for a while. I have tried reinstalling the app but no luck. This only happens when using the Neo with my phone via WiFi. If I use the controller the album and download functions work fine. It’s so frustrating that it worked initially when I bought the drone but stopped working shortly after. As of 4/5/25 there hasn’t been an app update to correct this issue. I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro Max.
It’s great but.. It’s a great app but it misses some of the functionality of the dji fly app such as a remaining flight time bar and shutter speed for video etc. I also wish there was an advanced mode with more telemetry data as this would give more control to advanced users. But at the very least video shutter speed and iso control would be great. Also it’s obvious that the drone sensor is capable of 4K why limit it even if it could take sales from the mavic air it could be worth it as more people would buy the mini because of its price and camera which could make up that loss. But In general decent app amazing drone just needs some small improvements.
Not a good travel drone. I have great difficulty understanding why DJI would make such a small drone and yet it really cannot be considered a travel drone. There is currently no way to control the Mini with you phone or tablet only this means that although the drone technically can fit in your pocket, you are still constrained to carry around the bulky case with a remote. It is also impossible to quickly power on and launch the drone for those quick shot you can get with the Spark or Air. Such a simple fix to make the Mini truly portable. Also NEEDS Active Track. The Mini appears capable of it as it tracks its subject during Helix and other Quickshots. These omissions are simply head scratching.
great app, love it!. I have to mavic mini and this app is great I can fly up to 3 miles out sometimes. And this app is good because it has more picture room with the dji go 4 app, it’s still good but but on the top it says gps mode on the top. This app also has good range I’ve lost connection I few times but that normal. So I am so glad I got the the mavic mini with this app it’s convenient it loads fast so you can get out to flying fast! This is a great app, recommended it. Thank you Dji for having such a good fly app!

😳. The app is terrible. The terms and conditions are riddled with spelling and language errors. The app tends to drop connection and it also places touch buttons behind other touch buttons (or the swipe bar at the bottom of IOS apps). There’s lots of bugs in the app and after downloading the app, creating an account etc. all automated emails from DJI are only in Mandarin Chinese and not English. It’s a bizarre experience that you would expect from a small start up.
Battery icon is impossible to see. DJI please change battery visibility. The old GO 4 app made seeing battery life left easy. The icon now is cleaner in terms of design but poor in terms of functionality. Having a white battery icon over an often bright sky is form over function. Please also allow adjustability of yaw speed.
Lack of features and QuickTransfer not working. The app works (sort of) and is your only option to fly your chosen DJI drone. It has issues with QuickTransfer on iPhones with the solution being to turn off cellular or put the iPhone into Airplane Mode. … not great! It’s also lacking lots of features and info the DJO GO 4 had long time ago. I switched from Mavic Pro (1st Gen) to the Mavic 3. Because they made the switch from the GO 4 App to this, it feels like a downgrade. Best way to describe it is like this Fly App is Freeware that is missing features you only get in the Pro version… just there is no Pro version and you are left with a feeling of a lower quality drone than it could be.
Why oh why. Surely with the money rolling in DJI could come up with something better than this. You can’t set a flight path, no follow mode. In the middle of a flight it decided to ask me what I wanted to do with the photo I just took and then froze on that screen. Cancel button didn’t work, done button didn’t work. Simple app, yet buggy. iPhone 11.
Needs features like Litchi or... I bought the Litchi app because it has many more features, like missions, where we can build a route with waypoints, filming, shots, etc. But I can’t use for having a DJI mini 2 SE. So please, if DJI app doesn’t have these features, it needs to update the SDK to be compatible with the mini 2, mini 2SE and Air 2S for Litchi users. Please. Thanks.
Mavic Air 1 and DJI Go4 has more features. I purchased the new Mavic air 2, and I haven’t been able to do basic things on the DJI Fly app compared to the DJI Go 4 app. Where can you check your battery health (voltage in each cell), and change the battery warning level (beep when it gets to 30% etc)? The Battery icon on DJI Fly is small and difficult to see.
DJI fly app. Works well out of the box, for its size it has everything a first timer would want in a stable platform. Well done DJI you have a winner with the App and the drone itself.
Needs work to work. 2 ways to instantly make DJI Fly app better; 1. Fix the Quick Transfer / transfer to mobile so it works. Used a few different phones and the transferring of files has always failed or been very slow. 2. Make it portrait orientation instead of forcing landscape. I know your product owners or designers have told you that landscape is more immersive but it’s functionally frustrating to force landscape mode. Even for stuff like browsing the album.
Brilliant. Everything worked and easy set up. Build quality was perfect. 100 percent recommend :)
Needs OSD overlay for DJI FPV. Needs more than just the camera view for the FPV drone. It would be awesome if it had the OSD data displayed similar to the goggles available in the app. At the moment apart from firmware updates and camera view when it comes to the FPV drone the app is pretty much useless
No Flight planning capability. Why is there no flight planning capability? This is a major shortcoming for an otherwise good product and gives it less capability that older and cheaper competitors.
Where are the features?!. Coming from flying a Mavic Pro using the full featured DJI app this is an almost unbearable downgrade. There’s hardly any features that the other app has had for years, feels like a free version compared to a paid one except you are forced to use this rubbish app. Has really caused me not enjoy my new DJI Mavic Mini as much as I expected and as much as the actual drone can preform. Avoid any drones from DJI that force you to use this app!
DJI Fly is poorly maintained by DJI - lots of bug issues. The app has numerous bugs that are not being effectively addressed. It appears that many users are experiencing similar issues. The only way to download photos via quick transfer on the iPhone 15 Pro is to turn off mobile data, then connect to the device. This method works for 2 to 3 attempts, after which it stops allowing photo download onto the phone. To resolve this, I have to delete and reinstall the app, which is quite frustrating. Considering the company likely generates substantial revenue from these expensive drones, it is disappointing that such fundamental issues persist.
App closes down when editing. I’ve noticed when using the app to download videos and also to edit photos/videos that I’m unable to delete the unwanted pics from the AEB shots as the app shuts off. When I select the specific photo(s) of the 3 AEB shots and then click ‘delete’ this is when the app shuts down. It also doesn’t delete the photo. I am guessing this is a bug with the latest firmware update? Other than that I am a beginner drone user but am finding the app really useful as I’m learning the features of my DJI Mini 2. The ability to download videos to my device without connecting it to the controller is also good.
Constantly crashes. The app is fine while flying although it is still missing a lot of features for the Mavic Air 2. However the Album section is proving to be useless for editing videos! I have the latest version of the app and it constantly crashes during editing a video and all my work is lost! I’m using an iPhone 6 which I know is becoming dated now but it’s still supported and this is the only app which crashes on it! Pointless having an editing section for your videos if it can’t be used.
Cannot download videos. Can’t download DJI Neo videos over Wifi, unless I switch off cellular data and wait a couple of minutes. This issue has been discussed in DJI forum for quite a few months already, how come it is still not fixed? I think video downloading is quite a fundamental function of a drone right?
App frequently crashes when editing footage.. When editing footage, the app frequently crashes. While being able to fly the drone through the app is fine, saving editing drafts and editing in general is still a bit buggy, at least on the iPhone 6. To elaborate, trying to save drafts to come back to later doesn’t work. Instead, saving the draft doesn’t save anything, removing all my progress. Additionally, when you are trying to edit your footage, the app crashes and thus, removing all my progress so I have to start again. Can be very tedious at times. I’m sure these are just small bugs that can definitely be fixed. Other than that, I’ve had no problems and my Mavic Mini has been fantastic when using the app.
Necessary but a few things to fix. Overall, it’s a decent app and beginner friendly. But when I try update my drone to the latest software it says internet connection required, but when I am connected to the internet my drone would disconnect as it would need to be on the same internet as each other. So when I try to update it with connection to the internet it would say aircraft connection required… So please fix!!!
DO NOT enable notifications.. I have been woken up at midnight even two in the morning by this thing sending me a notification which was just an advert for something. The app is also very restricted, you cannot override firmware limitations of the drone like you can with other modded versions of DJI Fly out there. Get the version that lets you switch to FCC mode that alone with double your range and give you a way better flying experience, without the late night wake ups!
Mavic Mini. The app is ok it isn’t very good with its height level it said I was 2 metres off the ground when I was really about 10. But I was flying the drone in 26 kilometres per hour wind which is 2 kilometres under the rating and i had to fight with the controller against the wind. If I had’ve taken my hands off the controller then the drone would’ve been lost into some trees about 50 metres right of me the way the wind was going. So if it is regularly windy where you live then this drone isn’t suitable for you.
FPV needs updating. The FPV app needs updating so that you can view on screen settings like for all the other dji drones. We shouldn’t have to wear the goggles to change any of the settings they should all be accessible on screen like usual. This includes the home point radar and every other on screen feature. Really disappointing to have to use goggles just to switch from camera to video etc or any other capabilities. Such a shame !!! All that money and you took that visual accessibility away !!!
App Dissconnecting mid flight. I have been flying my DJI mini 2 drone for 3+ months and while it takes a few minutes to connect to gps satellites before take off, the drone maintained a good connection during flight time. With the new updates, the drone now loses connection mid flight every time I fly, and begins the process of returning to home, so I have to wait until the drone reconnects, to stop RTH and continue flying. Also, The drone spontaneously starts to land sometimes as well (normally over water) so there is far greater risk that I could lose the drone through no fault of my own. I don’t like to imagine what these problems would be like if I were to buy a $4000 drone to use commercially. Something needs to change to improve the reliability of this DJI app and drones, before I will ever invest in a better DJI drone!
Functionality needs work. Can be used alongside RC controller to view the files but attempting to download or transfer any files directly to the connect phone has 0 transfer rate and never successfully saves images to the connected device. Makes the whole workflow of the drone difficult to operate when you have to connect a computer to view the files smoothly and at full resolution
Dysfunctional app. Remove app clutter and focus on functionality. Very very simple. Better yet, place more effort into its communication algorithms and solid warning about failures, or successes. Make the thing usable, this app reminds me of my bedroom . It should be the last thing one feels when rolling eyes over an app.
Editing issues. I really like the layout of the fly menu which is the screen you see when you are actually flying the drone. But there are a few problems with the editing. The first one is that I can not re-edit a project once I have saved and gone out of it, it comes up with ‘original file damaged, delete file?’ And then makes me delete it. I am pretty sure this is a bug in the app because I can edit perfectly fine with the same clips in other programs. I have looked up online and have found many other people with the same problem, please fix this, DJI. The other missing thing in the editing program is that there is no ‘undo’ button. So say if you accidentally deleted a clip and want to get it back, or made the wrong cut, there is no way to undo. Overall without these bugs it would be an amazing app. Please fix this
App works OK.. Hello Devs. We are still waiting on the promised SDK for the Mavic3. It has been well over a year now since this was announced and then set to "no plans as yet". Many people like myself bought the Mavic3 on this condition and it was in the public roadmap. Please release this as originally planned. Thanks in advance.
Download over wifi has big problem. I got the dji Flip and everything is wonderful except one problem. I cannot download the video and photos over wifi connection, the only way I download is connecting the phone to the controller, and I can download via controller very fast. So, the function which just use the phone with Flip is fail totally with the file download, still need to bring controller with you for full experience??? What a shame!!!
DJI Neo worked fine. The app is pretty complex given the connectivity requirements. I didn’t have any problems at all, so happy to give five stars - well done to the developers!
Good But Needs More Settings when Paired with Phone. This app is good, but it desperately needs updates for Neo to make it useful: * Ability to change sharpening setting on the camera * Ability to pair XBox or other IOS compatible controller and use that instead of on screen controls * Option for drone to return to home when connection to phone is lost by using GPS on the phone as home point. * Fix auto exposure levels to not overbrighten images / video, I.e have an exposure mode which allows for spot (centre) or entire frame metering which ensures a more balanced brightness, I shouldn’t have to use the controller all the time just so I can manually adjust exposure and get the most out of the camera on the Neo Add these and get a 5 star rating for me!
Quick transfer issue iPhone 16 pro max. Unable to download content to iPhone 16 pro max. Phones been updated, app deleted reinstalled, all permissions granted and issue persist. Have tried my previous iPhone 12 Pro Max and works a treat. What’s the issue ? Please investigate and provide an update to the app to fix this bug, unable to download and utilise the content.
Active track on mini 2. Dear dji The dji mini 2 is a great drone with a really powerful camera and a variety of quick shots but please consider adding active track to the drone, I it has no obstacle avoidance but active track can still be added if you are flying at a high altitude with no obstacles. If you do add it you can also warn the user of possible crashes which could occur before using active track. So dji please consider adding active track to the mini 2 Thanks
No exit from settings?. Seems to be no back or exit from the settings menu layout on iPhone once entered. Unless I’m not seeing it but have searched for it and have been having to close out the app and restart to get back to the main screen without it.
downloaded video playback issue. When you playback ‘saved’ videos, when you hit play icon for specific video, the video will slide to the left and left part of next video will be bought in the same screen. It will proportionally getting worse when you have lots of files in ‘saved’. The earlier video will getting much worse meaning more next video will be displayed while you are playback the current one.
We need the option to have a duel screen. With the RC2 having no way to install third party apps you need to give us some way to show clients the live view in real time, I have an M3P and at the price you charge it’s ridiculous.
Will not go to set parameters.. It gets to 50 meters out and then pulls to a halt, hight and distance limit reached. If you re down load it works for once or twice then plays up again and you have to download again. Really glitchy rubbish app. Makes the purchase of the drone disappointing.
Video transfer iPhone 14. Wont transfer videos to iPhone, I’ve tried all the tricks turning off mobile data on my phone, still say failed to export, tried calling DJI in Australia and it says to email the 🤦🏼 I’ve tried quick connect to drone only I’ve turned every button on and off
Simple yet powerful. I love the simplicity of the app but still has a lot of flight modes that should suit most situation. The manual flight is brilliant. Two requests please one auto return to home and manual exposure control & white balance without the need for remote. Remote has it’s own place and maybe I’ll get one, one day. But these feature IMO should be standard in the app to get good footage in diverse lighting conditions. Thank you.
Needs ADS-B Support & Waypoint Plotting. My DJI Mavic Mini is my first “DJI” product and compared to the “premium” product I previously used from a competitor, it’s a much better product. The same can be said of the “DJI Fly” application, which is well-written, informative, easy to use and seems to work without issue... There is however, room for improvement. For example, I’d love to see the ability to pull data from ADB-B systems and display notifications or warnings in DJI Fly (e.g. “Aircraft may be approaching your area, exercise caution!”)... There are third-party websites and applications which are able to display this information (e.g. Plane Finder and Flightradar24), so why not DJI Fly? Another feature which is missing is the ability to plot a flight plan using waypoints, and then have one’s drone follow this flight plan... There is no such functionality, which is disappointing, because such functionality would allow users to focus on the cinematography / photography, without needing to worry about piloting one’s drone. I have seen cheaper drones that include flight plans and waypoints, so it is certainly a strange decision to not include such functionality... Hopefully DJI will take notice of this feedback and implement this functionality in the future, because I feel that adding the suggestions above would make DJI Fly near-perfect.
Amazing app experience. I’ve had every dji series drone and can tell you dji just does it right on every app
App keeps crashing. Updated to current version as thought this would fix the issue of not being able to access photos or videos in album in app - nothing still crashes whilst trying to load - frustrating experience with dji now
Mini 2. The screen keeps on freezing mid flight. This bug has been around a long time now. FIX it! And, after the initial survey has been noted as finished, one can’t return to the flight mode ap. So I have had to delete this ap, & then re-upload it again. And then the Ap opens up into a feedback questionnaire for DJI, one can’t press ‘next’, as that button is tucked under an overlaying strip that will not recede. The only was out is to delete the DJI ap & then reupload it again. Please fix these snags!!
Good but…. Everything looks fantastic but when I downloaded the app the map is in Chinese so any help?
“network connection required” in remote places!!!. Update: the app has stored 22gb on my iPad according to Apple. But DJI only lets me clear less than half that. What a waste of space! In January in Greenland I spent weeks asking DJI to fix a problem that geozones required an active network connection to authorise. They ruined my research trip with this bug. (Plus the app becomes incredibly laggy and unresponsive after a few dozen flights). Now, again, I am in remote zones away from internet in the Solomon Islands and as soon as I press launch, the geozone that I’ve carefully authorised via Flysafe says “network connection required”. It cost me thousands of dollars to get here and now it’s wasted. If you are a university do not buy DJI drones unless you’re just flying them in city areas. Even then, better to use a company that actually does proper UX testing.
Good app, but few glitches.. I have started using the DJI Mavic Air 2 and this app works fairly well however, there are a few annoying little bugs or glitches. For example, if I shoot panoramas by default I would like to save the original RAW files to the SD card however, after each fly the app defaults to turning this off, so if I forget then I lose the RAW files from future flights. You should not need to go into panorama mode and turn this on each time, it should be able to be turned on once, then left on if the user wants that, and if the don't want it they can turn it off. Please fix this!!!!!!!
Quality over quantity. DJI are a clean example of doing something right over something right now…
iP16pro couldn’t download. I’ve installed this app into my iPhone 16 Pro, the app could connect to my DJI Mini 4 pro. But, when I want to download the videos and photos, there was no preview (blank/dark thumbnail), also the download progress didn’t work.
Black screen on camera. When I try fly my drone it worked the first 4 fly’s but then out of no where a black screen appeared and I don’t know how to get rid of it
The app is missing features. The app is ok but its missing alot of features compared to the DJI go 4 app, there needs to be raw photo support and there needs to be a dlog mode that is a must, i thibk what is holding back the mavic mini is the fly app, it even has not unlock authorisation support even the spark has this!! If all those features are added i will be verry happy with this, thank you.
Restrictions and no iOS charging. Restrictions through gps are very overprotective mother. Barely fly a mini over 100m high yet have to drive 15mins away because I live 5km from an airport. Restrictions should be model based. Planes don’t even come remotely close to the areas I’d like to fly. Remote also won’t charge iOS. Almost found that out the hard way but got the drone back home by 3% phone battery.
Great app but LOTS of bugs. Excellent app for throwing together and editing videos/photos and good to draw footage from your drone however lots and lots of bugs. I have 50gb spare storage on my phone and it won’t let me download a 1.2gb video from my drone because there is ‘insufficient storage’. When editing multiple clips it usually will have the actual video and the list out of sequence so you cannot delete/edit individual clips because it doesn’t line up with what’s playing. You have to restart and waste all the time and effort put in.

Great product but half finished app. As of Nov 2019 a lot of the text sections have editing comments and suggestions that should have been removed during editing. The sky pixel drone photography sharing site integration crashes the app when I try to add a description to the video before uploading it (and you can’t do it after). Functions all seem to work but be careful as some flight parameters reset between uses. Especially the return to home height which if you forget to set it above the default 15m you could end up in a tree. Better to let us set a value that stays until we change it manually. A way to access the sub 250g size of some drones as a way to authorize flight it some areas would be nice since the laws in some countries like Canada are more permissive of small drones like the Mavic mini.
No active tack?😞?. I don’t have the drone yet but know that there is no active track on the app witch sucks if you came from any other dji like the spark or mavic pro or air. So if you already haven’t please do!!!
App refuses to work on my phone and the recent update broke compatibility for my IPad. I’ve been using DJI for half a year now taking photos for work, it was a pain setting it up because no matter what I tried I couldn’t get the app working on my brand new phone. In the end I got it to work on my 10 year old IPad, and it worked fine until now, every time I try to open the app it just closes, it seems to have auto updated a few days ago. So I tried reinstalling and it still won’t work, my only option may be to buy a new IPad and hope I can get the app to work again. This is a big waste of money for something that should just work, fix your app!
Happy with the functionality. My review is mainly for the app used in the smart RC controllers of my Mini 3 and 4. As a native app I have to say that there’s very little to complain or wish for. The app is well matched to the functionalities of the drones. I do wish that the touch screen is more responsive and accurate. Maybe the screen protector I’m using is the reason. I’ve tried after market stylus with varying success. The app works well on my other devices as well - iPhone 13 and iPad
Quick transfer not working. This application needs major changes. Development team needs to change cumbersome to use and half of the function not working garbage app
Quick shot does not work. Software will not allow the quick shot functions work none of them work i have done every thing required every thing is proper it even says 3,2,1 to me then will not preform the functions drone is not very usefull with out working quickshot softwhare please fix asap
Dji fly app junky. So many glitches on the dji fly app. On newest iPhone and latest firmware too. Cant download.. closing by itself …
Will not connect. Receiver will not connect
So mad. Bought the fly ore combo from gosselin photo abs the neo isn’t even in the app so I can’t even activate my drone
Allow me to turn off wide angle lens manually. I have a lens hood on the camera, it’s flagging up a white angle lens I want to do 360s with that on there, it doesn’t interfere with the movement of the camera Allow me to turn it off manually
Removed feature from Mavic Mini. Updated app and can no longer used pro settings with video, only with photo. Makes the drone almost useless
Great app. Been flying my DJI drone through this app for 3 years now and am totally happy with it. Easy to download captures, it tells you where to fly it if you can’t fly there through the fly spots, tools to edit your captures, and the DJI store in the app.
Knackered. This app sucks, I can never transfer my content to my phone. It always bugs out
Bull….. All bull**** for nothing
Doesn’t download the video from DJI mini 3 pro stock .. Doesn’t download the video from DJI mini 3 pro
iPhone 15 pro max not working. Mavic mini not connecting to my iPhone 15 pro max so Useless $500 drone
Any review on Mini2?. Is this update support hyper lapse for Mini2? What other new features will support Mini2?
5 Star App. Some reviews are coming at 3 start reviews but we have to extremely reasonable. This app is undoubtedly fantastic. Obviously it is evolving and so is the drone industry as we speak. But to be honest this is a great app and it will only get better with time. This one certainly deserves 5 starts.
App runs great. Running this app since Mini 2 introduction, have had no issues at all. Always ran smoothly.
Bug dans la version pour iPad. L’édition video ne fonctionne pas correctement sur les iPads. Le timeline n’est pas correctement synchronisé avec la video. Rien n’a été fait pour résoudre le problème dans la dernière année. Très décevant.
Do not download video after upgrade. I am unable to down videos from dji mini 3 pro after the upgrade please fix the problem
Connecting device for camera view is impossible. my drone won’t connect to my phone or remote?. Not the best connection options
No longer good. No longer connects to my dji mini 2 for no reason. Very frustrating.
Quick transfer is broken. App works fine, except I have to pull the SD card out to download the photos/video. Quick transfer just stalls and never transfers anything.
Stop Advertising to me. This app continuously pushes advertisements for drones that I don’t care about after purchasing one already.
Really cant figure out an upgrade. Huge brand but can’t figure out why the drone is not Compatible with Iphone 15pro max. Come on!!!
max altitude 14m. please hire qualified engineers who can update maximum altitude in app as well your reputation.
Fun game. Fun game
Illegal map. This app is using the map which has the illegal Nine-dash line on the South China Sea.
Keeping Up. I’ve been flying DJI drones for 5-6 years now starting with the Mini one and now with my Air2S and Air3S….always with DJI Fly. I’ve never encountered any real serious events with this app and I’ve always been very impressed how well they keep up to the high frequency of modifications regarding their firmware for ALL the different models. Keeping and Staying Up👍
Charging option. WARNING!! The latest update (1.4.8) deleted the option to have the remote charge the phone while flying. By default, it now charges the phone ALWAYS! While this might sound like a good idea, it causes my iPhone 12 to overheat, causing the screen to go pretty black, making it impossible to see. This in my opinion is not only a pain, but also a SAFETY ISSUE!! Be very cautious when flying in the sun, or very warm climates. I’m not alone in this issue, many have commented on the DJI Forum. DJI, PLEASE let have the option to turn off charging. PLEASE!
New born under 250 gr drones.... So good . This app is very easy to use . Hope new functionality will came soon. Perfect match with mavic mini... Dji please release the SDK soon...!
File Transfer Not Working. File transfer has stopped working after latest update
Horrible glitch all photos gone. The app updated automatically when I went to see what they added I saw that all my pictures and videos were all gone all the important pictures were gone DJI please help me get my photos back there is a lot of pictures please help me get them back
Frequent issues with licenses. The importation process for restricted licenses it buggy on a good day and the troubleshooting steps cause you to lose all imported licenses… sigh do better dji
Awesome. This app is awesome I use it every day!
Charging fonction. why did you remove the phone charging function in the application this function is essential please put this function back in the next update please
EXIT WITHOUT SAVING. The button in DJI Fly app clearly says exit without saving. Not Exit and delete your draft. Lost days of work…..0 star 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Regret it. I bought a drone, but it couldn’t connect to the app. It was a complete waste of my time and money. I’ll be returning this immediately!
New update makes it impossible to see library. New update makes it impossible to see library
Transfert. Impossible de faire un transfert RC2 avec code QR sur iPad ou iPhone
DJI. So far so good
Notifications abused. I have allowed the application to send notifications thinking they will be related to the operation of drone. Instead, they are abusing notifications and my trust to force serve their marketing message and up-sell. Notification permission revoked. Very disappointed.
Why is waypoint exclusive to certain drones? That makes absolutely no sense. Why is this exclusive to certain drones? I have an air to 2s and it does not support this. That is very disappointing. Now I have to go and purchase a third-party app.
Bad. The quick-transfer dont work
Missing Key Features. A good start but needs a serious upgrade. Simple software features like manual video controls and RAW still capture are inexcusably missing. Also the addition of Active track(some form already in the code base for quick shots) would put DJI so far ahead no one could catchup! Take a leaf out of Fuji’s book and add major features over time like they do and get committed customers for life.
dji fly ads. Its notification permission is primarily used to deliver dji ads.
Failed to update using iPad. It’s not a big deal that I had to use my phone to update my fpv drone but I also have a stick error and I feel you should be able to change video setting and camera pitch on the app while flying
App is fine. Service needs to Change.. DJI has great products I wish I could say the same about it’s service and warranty. I’ve had issues with my RTM feature on my mini 3 pro where it would set the waypoint for home and then it hit a power line. Warranty didn’t cover the cost, which normally would’ve been fine but what they told me was “you shouldn’t have used the RTH feature” 🤷♂️and when I made a complaint they said they’d send me a product of equal cost to the repair, so I paid for the repair and nothing was sent as compensation.
Excellente app.. Fonctionne très bien. Plusieurs mauvaise notes sont issues de la mauvaise compréhension de l’utilisateur.

Fly App. Love the simplicity of using this app You can deep dive if you want to as the app has tons of user settings, but it works great using the factory presets. Other reviews speak about difficulty in changing settings and having to adjust each time you fly. Douh! Of course you do! Anyone who does any serious photography knows you have to change camera settings constantly. I suggest folks read and learn before making harsh comments.
Cannot unlock authorization zones = drone won’t fly. There is a lot to love about the Mavic Mini and this app, but there is one huge flaw. The Fly app cannot currently unlock authorization zones. This means I cannot fly the drone at my house because it’s on the very edge of an authorization zone, and the app prevents it from taking off. Any other DJI drone using their other app could fly here, but the Mavic mini will not until they enable unlocking functionality (which, again, is already built into their other drones/app). The Fly app would otherwise be four or five stars, but this issue is a huge one if you live in or near an authorization zone like me.
Fly App for MA2 isn’t ready for prime time. App has crashed while in flight (iPad mini 5 latest iOS). Luckily remote remained connected and picked back up relatively quickly. Related flight log showed 2 different flights, which now that I think about it probably affected the RTH point. Settings are kind of a disaster. Different for each shooting mode. Need a universal setting option (If I’m shooting 4K in one mode I probably don’t want to drop to 1080p for another mode). I realize we’re in a pandemic, but I expected much more as a previous DJI / GO4 user.
App fails. Bought a mavic air2 to later find out my phone was not compatible. Found an iPad mini2 for a good price and it was on the compatible list. Flew for a few weeks no problems at all. I get a notification for an app update one day so I update. First flight after update the app crashes during flight. I get it back on and try to return home. Little did I know there was a delay in video transmission. Drone crashes. Sent drone for repairs. $225! They say aircraft and controller were working and would not warranty the repair even though the app failed. Not real happy to say the least
Wind Speed and Flight Bar (RTH). The app seems very good so far for a fresh new take, but with the Mavic Air 2, 2 features that are missing are the ability to view wind speed and an actual bar for the time left for RTH. The battery percentage is nice along with the flight time but those of us who want a little more information would be much more comfortable with a bar like the Go 4 app has. Other than those two things the app seems great so far and I look forward to these features and hopefully more to come with the launch of the Mavic Air 2!
Please please please fix the bug with the app!!!!!!. I love this app, but I got terrible bug with editing feature. I spending sometimes hours to make purrrfect video of my flights and at the end all that I get is not a rendered video but black screen without any sound. So this app looses its attraction because you just filming nice places and leaving these videos dying on drone’s memory card without any chance to show it to someone...
Needs an update. Just got the dji fpv and I can’t even fly it because this app can’t sense a connection with any of the devices. It worked for a minute in the flight simulator app and every button on the controller worked but the stick inputs. I updated every device and now both the dji fly app and dji flight simulator app can’t connect to anything. Worst of all it just says connect device and then I get an option to choose from 3 random drones that aren’t my model. Very disappointed in the experience. My first dji drone and I can’t fly it due to bugs in their app. Please update ASAP
Doesn’t work well on iPad (Pro or Mini). I’ve had two major problems with this app… First, while the video editing software actually works remarkably well on my iPhone, it doesn’t seem to work on my iPad devices. I have an iPad Pro and an iPad mini 4. The video editing software that works so well on my phone, doesn’t seem to work well at all on either of my iPads. Next, about 40% of the time I get error messages when trying to get the high-resolution videos from my SD card onto my mobile devices. Your message says that I can only use videos that are 1080 P. But everything that I shoot is in 4K. Somehow, the other 60% of the videos that I should have no problem transferring from the microSD card to my iPad Pro/iPad mini/iPhone. I didn’t experience either of these issues until I finally downloaded the latest iOS from Apple (which has been out for over a month). I hope that in a version update, they fix this app to work better with the new iOS.
Love Drone! Ok Software. First and foremost I love the drone! But my one complaint about this product is lack of software. The drone has so much advance technology and so many capabilities that aren’t even being used to there full potential due to lack of in app features... I understand that this drone was meant for beginner pilots and that is one reason the app is limited... but plz let us more advance users have the option to use dji Go 4... we all know this drone has all of the same tech the spark had so plz let us use it😁 Thank you
This app is severely lacking, not ready for public release. I’ll make it short. This app either needs to acquire the necessary features expected in a quality 2020 drone, or make the Mavic Air 2 (and mini) compatible with the Go 4 app. No live streaming of any kind. In this age of social media reporting, this is an absolute must. There is no excuse for DJI NOT to include it when almost all their other drones do. Also, as the latest iteration of the Mavic line, DJI giggle support is a must. Finally, warning icons are small and not easy to acknowledge. Step up your game DJI, this is starting to prove to be a dealbreaker for many.
Its a great app but there is a bug. Its a great app to be used with the dji mavic mini been using it for a while but there is something that bothere me, the notification tabs or alert tabs that show up or even the settings tab on top have one background and foreground color which is black, which makes the text unreadable or the alerts unreadable (using iphone xs max) idk it this bug exists with other users or just with me
Great app but could use a little improvement. I love my DJI products and the app works good but I really wish that the area where select the max altitude and distance didn’t just have a slider. It would be awesome if they could also make it so you can type in those parameters as well. We in the US 10have max altitude limits depending on where you’re flying. To be able to just type in the information would be great. You can never get close to where you want it set with the sliders.
Authorized zones. Before buying the Mavic mini , I downloaded this app to make sure I could fly at my house, since I’m close to an airport. It showed on the app all you have to do is verify your account and you can unlock the drone to fly in these blue zones. Now that I bought the drone , charged it ready to fly , it wouldn’t unlock. I can’t even fly in my house. I called support, they are waiting on a firmware update. This should of been listed on the app or the website stating you currently can’t fly in a blue area. Instead they make it sound like it’s no big deal, so you buy a $500 paper weight.
Absolutely awful if you want to transfer images to your phone.. The app works fine when it comes to flying the drone, but its worthless on iPhone when it comes to downloading photos. It works fine on my iPad, downloaded everything in less than a minute, but on my phone I just get error after error and can’t even download a single image. It’s been this way since I got my mini 3, now on a mini 3 pro and it’s still the same. 2 stars in hopes that they’ll wake up and fix this
Great app 👍🏼. Really enjoy using this simplified app (compared to the GO 4 App). I had an Air before and I really enjoyed it, but the Mini has longer flight time and is a much better value (also the 249g / no registration helps). The one thing they could do to improve this app is to include more quick shots. I really miss the asteroid and other quick shots. Please add more! The Mini is more than capable of these shots.
Dji Mini 2. I got my Mini 2 several months ago, have had no issues with the drone, app or controller. It’s my first drone and found it to be easy to learn and use. If you are going to buy one, spend the extra cash on getting the kit which includes a spare battery and charger and several other items, I wish I had. Nothing negative for me to comment on to be honest with you.
Lost everything!. Well, I really liked this app and I have no idea what happened but while editing, suddenly I got a popup saying the project was corrupted and I LOST ALL MY WORK I ever made with this app. Somehow I managed to get over it and recreated my last video. After a few days I got the same popup and I LOST IT AGAIN. I created another one and it happened to me TWO MORE TIMES!!! I can’t even express my frustration. Not that I lost all my work, but I can’t really trust this app anymore because it’s worst than just useless. I really hope you guys give me some reasonable explanation and I expect you to reach out to me to manage to recover my projects because I need them back!
Love my drone, editing app however ehhh.... Everything about the fly app in terms of drone control works fine BUT having a hard time with the editing app, works like any other video editing software and I actually like it, however the templates and music they offer dont work, they just wont download, when you click to download on a template or try to add a song to avideo, they just sit there and then give you an error “Cant download at this time, please try again later.” Is anyone else having the same issue? Using iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Fix your app. The app won’t shut up about “automatic avoidance” when a plane approaches and then long after the plane has gone away it continues incessantly with no way to stop it other than to land the drone turn it off, close the app and then start it all up again. What is automatic avoidance anyway because nothing happens at all the app just flashes red and states a message saying automatic collision avoidance fly at a safe altitude etc. And nothing else happens. Can you either remove this feature entirely or fix it because it is extremely irritating. This is happening on the current version of the app and has always been an issue as far as I am aware
Mavic Mini needs Flight plan Capability. Hi I own a mavic mini I use it for work. Flight plan capability would be great in allowing greater safety and control in sub/urban areas where I use the drone for photos and video. Please make this a reality. Otherwise I really enjoy working with the tech it’s has good design just needs more robust capability if the guy in the DJI store had told me I need a different drone to do that I wouldn’t have had a complaint. I just expected more from DJI.
Need to be able to take maps offline. I really like my DJI Mini 2. I own property that doesn’t have internet or cellphone service. I really needed to be able to pre-download the imagery map so that I could see the location of my Mini 2 in relation to the map. Where I was, the map in the corner of the app was a blue dot on a blank map. Additionally, I would really need to create a geo-fence pre-flight so that I don’t fly too far away and bother my neighbors. Otherwise, the app works great.
I love it very much. I love the app I love all the drones they have quality updates. The app is fun and easy to use. I have never had problems with anything. It is easy to set up and get started. I love the tutorials for beginners as a DJI mini 3 pro user. I would never get any other brand or type of drone in. I totally love the app and all the drones they are the best.
Missing TONS of features, but great app. DJI, this app is great for beginners. However as someone who often fly’s my Mavic Air 1. I was surprised to see so many features from the Mavic Air 1 DJI GO 4 app missing from this app and the Mavic Air 2. I hope to see these features like changing the Gimbal speed, changing EXP settings such as Sensitivity, pitch, yaw and rudder added to both the app and the Mavic Air 2. Was going to give three stars but decided on two due to soooooooooooo many features missing from both the drone and the app. :(
Good, but quickshot fails too frequently.. App does what it needs to do. My only somewhat regular annoyance (seems to be a 50/50 proposition of late) is getting a “gps signal too weak” error when attempting quickshots. This usually occurs even though I have 15+ on the satellite icon with good connection. Not sure if this is an app or rc issue, but regardless. Great app otherwise, this mini is SO much fun.
Good app. Good app, but update added a lot of geo fencing to ordinary places, guess they scared china see the suburbs and want buy more than all our farms. This insecurity by the feds is hypocrisy look at what they allow . Balloons flying freely over tells me this hate for dji is more than they telling us and not over China but to restrict we the people. Because I’m pretty sure satellites I’ve tracked from Russia and China are seeing more than my drone ever could in bigger chunks and higher pixels
Does nothing right. Been spending hours and hours trying to get the app to upgrade my Mini 2 firmware, trouble shooter every possible option and talked to costumer support in the app. A few hours later I go back to costumer support and it won’t open in the app at all… I uninstalled and reinstalled, costumer support and repair/exchange won’t open. Spending hundreds of dollars on a drone that won’t take off, using an app that won’t work, and having a support team that offers no help when I am able to contact them is so saddening. Useless app and terrible customer service
Wishing For a Little More. I wish that the Dji Fly app would call-out the altitude, distance and battery level, with an option to set it to how often the drone user will like it too -call it for them. Because must of the time users are more aware of capturing a very good video shot rather than looking at the status readings including the battery level left of the current flight. Other than that, the app is good one in my opinion. Thxs (:
Camera settings. It would be nice to be able to change camera settings without changing camera modes it would also be very nice to be able to change camera settings and quick shots while on the ground... another thing that would Be great is if you could get similar camera settings for video as it seems a lot of us tend to fly at night and the Video camera settings do not allow for great night time video, its to dark
No Quick Shot Menu Available. I have yet to be able to get the quick shot menu to activate or show up after the firmware update. This is my second Mavic Mini in 7 days and I even upgraded to the fly more combo. Saw the menu button for the quick shot menu as seen on tutorial videos. Did the firmware update per the DJI fly more app and now the square box is gone and only the icons representing video and picture are present. Anyone have this same issue?
EXCELLENT. So far the DJI Mini 3 Pro has gone above and beyond my expectations! I have nothing but good things to say about my drone for the size and quality you can’t beat it and as far as the app goes i believe it will continue to get better and I look forward to using DJI products for many years to come. Also if anyone at DJI has endorsement or testing opportunities please let me know-i will advertise for a product I trust in 👍
DANGEROUS! App fails! It loses connection to controller!. I love the drone itself, the mini 2. However, I’ve had a ton of firmware issues and want to make this public so the company takes it seriously! One crash was caused by an update of firmware. Drone would not respond to the controller after the update. It lost connection, tried to return home (hitting the garage on the ascent). This was in my backyard, so luckily I could retrieve it. DJI investigated, determined it was not my fault, and sent a new drone. Yea! However, this loss of connection problem continues. And when you can’t control the drone, it’s a PROBLEM. The customer service gave me a canned response about rebooting, which didn’t help. I am now SCARED to fly, particularly because there’s no telling when it will lose connection. And it’s been disconnecting EVERY time I fly lately. (And I make sure pre-flight check is green, compass calibrated, and plenty of satellites.) I’m using an iPhone 8. The app needs to be fixed. It’s currently a SAFETY HAZARD.
It is so hard to do a self unlock.. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do a self unlock through the dji fly app for my mavic air 2. Every online instruction set is for the dji go app but you cannot do it easily from the dji fly app. This is just absolutely unacceptable and has ruined many planned flights. Also who in the right mind designed the dji self unlock website to only be desktop compatible when the vast majority of people will access it on a smart phone to self unlock? Yes you can put it in desktop mode, but seriously why even do this to begin with?? I love the dji drone and it’s this terrible software experience than makes me wish I never bought it and would recommend no one ever does until they fix this.
Videos vanish. I love the drone and I really only have one issue with the app and that’s that my videos only sometimes save. If I use any of the quick shots they aren’t available in the app to even download. Same goes with photos I take. Everything is saved to my SD card but that adds a lot of extra steps to simply post a photo. Only about half the videos I take are in the app and if I don’t immediately download them then they will be gone the next time I open the app. This is rather frustrating as I don’t always have time to wait for the download of do edits immediately.
Awesome. This app is a game-changer! As a drone enthusiast, this app is my go to for smooth flights and stunning aerial footage. Its intuitive interface makes navigating a breeze, and the range of features like automated flight modes and easy editing tools truly elevate the experience. Seamless connectivity, stability, and reliability make this app an absolute essential for any DJI drone owner. Thank you to the developers for such a fantastic tool!
The drone flying experience was excellent downloading the pictures not so much. When I flew the drone the app was great great reception and gave me lots of information. However, when downloading pictures to my phone it would put grey boxes over my image and it would not let me duplicate or reset the image. I don’t know whether I need a cord to plug the sd card straight in my phone or a different sd card in general? At this point I’m very happy in the drone and how well it flys and takes pictures I’m just not sure how to safely download my beautiful pictures.
Takes up way too much storage on mobile. This app stores massive amounts of data (somewhere within itself) which cannot be cleared without deleting and reinstalling the app. Also, if you download any videos or photos to your device, then you have to first download to the DJI app and then move those items to a local folder / album on your device. This creates 2 storage locations on your device for the same video/photo. This app takes up double the necessary storage and also has some hidden documents and data which I cannot personally delete or clear up… Kind of annoying to have to delete this app and reinstall it so often (and yes, I’ve already deleted all of my videos, photos, and other albums from within the app). Still, DJI is secretly using my device to store many GB’s worth of data. I wonder what they’re collecting and storing….
Good app and with a few updates could be great. As far as flying the drone everything works well and makes it easy for my 12 year old to fly. I really like the editing app and if it had a couple features I would use it more. It really really needs an ‘Undo’ button and I would love a way to save the project to make more edits later. With those few extras it would be great for field edits and quick videos.
Avanta not well supported. There are so many things wrong with the DJI Avata and the DJI Fly app I don’t know where to begin. You cannot retrieve any of the photos or videos from the Avata without connecting the USB-C cable or removing the SD card from the nearly impossible to access slot on the drone. As best I can tell, you cannot broadcast the video from the goggles to an iPhone or iPad. The DJI Fly app is only used to activate the drone, controller, and goggles. You cannot use any of the other features. Basically worthless. This is a drone you do not want to buy and an app you do not want to use. Definitely not ready for prime time.
App still troublesome. After several months of hoping DJI would release a fix to a video feed problem that seems to be rather prevalent with some of the newer drones using DJI Fly, it has still not been fixed. About 50% of the time, the video feed from the drone will begin to lag horribly, and in many cases freeze solid creating a dangerous situation. The issue has become so upsetting, it has made me want to no longer use DJI products if this is going to be the norm. This is a shame, because I have really enjoyed what they have offered.
Missing features. Just purchased my mini 2 and have been doing research and playing around with the settings to get the best out of my drone. However I’m noticing that there are setting options missing. Like the advanced humble settings, upward humble rotation, and even some of the manual camera settings are either completely missing or not functioning as they should be according to many of the videos and tutorials I’ve watched. This is very disappointing.
I don’t know why this app has 3 stars. I love this app. I don’t know why it has 3.5 stars, but it is so easy to use, and the interface is easy to learn with once you get used to it. Video quality while flying is great, and I love all of the useful features in the app such as the map of places you are allowed to fly in. I would definitely recommend this app if you have a DJI drone that works with it!
Absolutely Love DJI but….. Just wanted first and foremost express my deepest appreciation for some of the most excitement I’ve ever had flying a drone and can’t wait to see how things develop in the coming years. I absolutely love DJI! I currently use my DJI FPV more than my others but your latest update had a bit of a hiccup with the imperial units missing. Not a huge deal but thought I’d mention it in case it hadn’t been noticed yet. Anyway, thanks for all that you do and keep them coming!!!
Photos not saving to IPhone. Drone shots don’t save directly to my phone anymore. I used take as many photos as I wanted and it would save directly and immediately to my phone. Now it only saves on the SD card and I have to make individual selections of the photos on the app to which ones to transfer onto my phone. Only way to do so is if both the remote/phone and the drone are both on and connected. Supposedly the update was the minimize storage usage on a mobile device but personally I find it a hassle and waste of time. Should’ve kept it the way it was.
Childish app compared to Go 4 😡. I’ve been flying drones for 7 years now. My workhorse over the last couple years has been the mavic 2 pro and finally dumped a ton of money for the new mavic 3. I feel as if I’ve been duped, ripped off. There is in no way the amount of adjustments in this app that the go 4 app had. There was a lot of useful things such as tap to fly in the go 4. The DJI Fly app is lacking so much it is holding back the potential of what the mavic 3 is capable of. I’m really sad I spent this much money on a semi pro drone that is limited by the outdated app that is being used for it 😕.
Awful App. Though DJI Fly is Convenient and easy to maneuver around, when it comes to actually connecting to a drone, nearly not existent. Not only have I been speaking with DJI customer service (which doesn’t help) for hours on end, I have been mindlessly uninstalling and reinstalling based on their recommendations to try and get my functioning drone to connect. DJI needs to fire their software engineers because for how much money these drones cost, I shouldn’t even have to think twice about if it will connect or not. DJI needs to go back to the drawing board and create a functional app ASAP!
Photos Don’t sync to phone. In the old version of the app, two copies of every photo would sync to the phone. This was annoying because it took up iCloud storage space - but it was livable. Now, photos don’t sync at all; you have to manually copy from the SD card. This is much more work and definitely needs to be fixed. In the settings, we have the option to turn this on and off, so it seems like a bug because no matter which way you place the toggle, photos don’t sync. Looking forward to an update on this feature.
Close Your Eyes and Open Your Mouth. The practice of releasing an update and failing to disclose anything whatsoever about what it does is just terrible. What does this update add? What does this update take away or disable? Good developers will detail a list of what the update does, so people can decide whether they want the update or not. Updating first, only to find that a feature was removed, with no way to reverse the update is foolishness. Updating only to find out that some new tracking feature was enabled, with no way to disable it, is equally foolish. Tell your customers, who have shelled out hood money for your products, what they are getting and doing by updating. Would you go to a restaurant, close your eyes and open your mouth? And then eat whatever they fed you, whether you liked it or not? No. Don’t treat your customers that way.
Great app with some fixable flaws. Honestly love the app as a first time owner, especially the easy editing portion of it but it definitely needs an “undo” button for editing because I accidentally deleted the wrong clip and the only way to fix it was to start all over again! Also, whenever I edit long videos it crashes and nothing I edited is saved which is super frustrating! Hope they can fix this by a “quick save” option or “save and keep editing” option in the very near future! :)
It works but is lacking a major option. I’m using it with a Mini 2 I bought just a couple days ago. Running it on an iPhone 7. My first flight I experienced screen dimming on my phone from it getting too hot. Researching it I found that this is caused from the constant charging. While I love that this feature is available, please, please, please, make this a selectable option. It’s useless if I can’t see my screen and I’m not wealthy enough to go buy some other solution.
Missing a few features. There are a few features that is missing for the Mavic Mini, that you would find in any other Mavic. Two of which would be Full Screen and Active Track. I was totally aware that Active Track was not completely available in the new Mavic Mini. But with the new QuickShot feature, would be the most basic of Active Track (which I hope will become in a future update) The second part that I was bummed out to have missing, is Full Screen mode. I was hoping I could use this drone for Live-streaming events by Screen Sharing the iPhone to my video switching device. But, since the Mavic Mini does not support Full Screen, now my viewers will see all the controls; which doesn’t look good on any live steam. Please, at least add Full Screen to the software! That would be most appreciated!
