How many times have you tried to capture artful images with your iPhone camera but were left wishing you had more features to work with? Slow Shutter Cam puts an end to mere snapshots and gives you some of the most powerful features of a DSLR camera. All this, in a package that fits in your pocket.
Slow Shutter Cam offers three capture modes to capture unique images:
MOTION BLUR: Equivalent to the shutter priority mode on a DSLR, the Motion Blur mode is perfect for creating ghost images, waterfall effects or suggesting movement in your photographs by adding a blur.
LIGHT TRAIL: The Light Trail mode allows you to 'paint' with light, show car light trails and fireworks or capture any other moving light in a unique way. Unlike shooting with a DSLR and being tied to specific rigid settings to obtain good results, the Light Trail mode takes care of the essentials, letting your creativity soar!
LOW LIGHT: In low light conditions, this capture mode allows the camera to accumulate every photon of light hitting the sensor. The longer the shutter speed, the more light it will accumulate. You can even fine-tune the result using the exposure compensation slider to achieve the exact effect you want!
• Unlimited Shutter Speed and manual ISO
• Option to resume capture
• Real time live preview - See the result in real time
• Innovative 'Freeze' and ‘Blur Strength’ controls
• Tap to adjust focus/exposure
• Time-lapse Intervalometer
• Apple Watch support and handy Self-Timer
• Full resolution support on every devices
With Slow Shutter Cam on your iPhone or iPod touch you get the features of a DSLR camera with the convenience of a device that you can drop in your pocket and take with you wherever you go. Download it now and put an end to mere snapshots!

By the way, every time we release a new version, we lose all our ratings on the App Store which negatively affects our sales. Thus, we would REALLY appreciate if you could update your rating on the App Store (simply tap the "Rate on App Store" button in the settings). Many thanks!!!
Cool app, bummer the exported file sizes are so tiny. No RAW support.
The only one thing I’m not happy about is that the size of the files are so small. Is there ever gonna be an update for that? ThAnks.
A bunch of great reviews, read the tips including the how-to dozens of time, use a tripod, adjust settings accordingly and...STILL haven’t been able to take a decent photo. Feeling a bit bemused and let down. Just tried to send a message from your site and it doesn’t work. Your instructions ARENT instructions, just descriptions of what the app is supposedly capable of. Explain to me HOW to actually use it!!!
Amazing photography and amazing minds that create wonderful memorable photos.
I think this is the best slow shutter speed app out there. It does a great job at motion blur. I haven't tried the light trail or low light modes, but hope to try these this summer. Two additions that would make this a primo app would be a tiltmeter and the ability to shoot in RAW. Thanks
Took some amazing photos of two mountain streams coming together into one-definitely use a camera stand or some other stabilization for your phone otherwise you will be deleting every photo if your trying any blurring... only 4 stars because I haven’t really used it more than once or any of the other options...once I have I will update my review! But so far so good! Cheers!🌸
Versatile and fun app. Easy to navigate to create interesting images.
I can’t even change my white balance in the app.
Esta aplicación de fotografía es muy malo y lento y la calidad malísima....
I was able to take decent photos of the Northern Lights!!!! Great app!!
Loving this app, can’t fault it!
I see this is a great app, I have purchased it. Can someone teach me how to use this app properly, as photography is my passion. Thanks!
Amazing app. You can take photos better with this camera than the actual built in camera. It’s awesome, however, you will need to keep your device completely still for long exposure photos. If you bump it slightly, the photo will be ruined, especially with light trails. This does mean that you can’t do hand held photos, and unless you have a tripod for your iPhone, iPod, or iPad, then you’ll have to lean it on a rock or something.
I’ve had this app for a while but didn’t realize it’s full potential till I started doing iColorama tutorials and using it for base and/or layered images. iColorama isn’t the only art/editing app that you can take Slow Shutter Cam images to, but it’s probably to most diverse. Appreciate the app, and the good updates. Well done, devs 🙏 💐 🌟 PS: visit mobitog.com some time, introduce yourself to the staff and have a chat.
Can’t believe I haven’t written a review of this app yet. A long time ago I created one of the first award winning blogs dedicated to iPhone photography. I’ve tested hundreds of apps & very few stay on my phone. I not only love this app but my next art exhibition will feature more than two thirds of the images created by this app! My other recommendation is to not just use the app properly but to mess around with the settings to get some wonderful abstract effects. If you want to see examples of this just go to my instagram - funkylovebunny It has a really clean & simple to use interface with all the settings you need & nothing more. No extra clutter just for the sake of adding features. Some other apps have slow shutter but it’s not their main focus (forgive the pun) & is often buried under other menus etc. but I can jump right into this app knowing that it remembers my preferred settings. Capture the image & get on with it It’s very rare that I write a review & cant think of any way to improve the app Definitely in the top 3 capture apps Thank you
App is heaps of fun. Easy to use and solid. Takes a little experimenting to find the right settings, you’ll over do it at first and just end up with an over blown white screen but soon enough you can get the exposure time and settings right and make some wicked trails etc. Can be slightly annoying it doesn’t automatically remember your last used settings but easy enough to dial them back in.
So easy to use. Unbelievable how clear and crisp the photos are. You can literally turn into a pro photographer with the touch of one button! This is a must for anyone who loves photography.
As I shoot using a DSLR Canon I don’t always have it with me and the lenses and kit. But there are those moments when I see something and think ohh no. But I’ve had this awhile as still got my iPhone 6s + probably going to a 8s+ as the 10 is great but a nice camera inside and bigger drive is main thing and phone calls. But with little app which is bigger than you think. I’ve had some shots that would never been able to have if I didn’t have it. Best thing is they keep supporting the app which is a big thing as I only use mac Apple stuff. So new iOS and MacBook system soft ware. It’s important. But highly recommend it I’ve actually got to remember to see if it’s on my iPad as it goes with me a lot as well. Cheers.
Fantastic results and very easy to use.
Out of all camera apps I've tried in iPhone, this might be the best app that gives the most controls to the users. You can even shoot I'm bulb mode. I'm not sure if this actually controls the shutter speeds or it is just another illusion effect that it uses but the night pictures look great using this app. Totally worth the money. Five out of five.
This is a very good app and works exactly as advertised. Get creative and have fun.
This app is amazing! I don’t know how it works, but it does something magical and let’s you take photos with very long exposures, just as you can with a DSLR. The iPhone has always been known to have a good camera, but its lens is just too big and too fast (f-stop-wise) to take long exposures of things like waterfalls during the day. Depending on the situation, anything more than around 1/30 of a second would cause the photo to be over exposed. Well, this app changes that and lets you take photos with crazy shutter speeds, 8, 15 & 30 seconds...even longer. It also features a “bulb” mode, which let’s the user keep the shutter open as long as they want, which is perfect for capturing fireworks and things like that. I’ve been lugging around heavy camera gear for many years but recently made the decision to simplify my life and just use my iPhone to take photos. That worked for everything except long exposures for subjects like waterfalls, traffic lights and dark scenes. I’m so thankful I heard about this app because with it, I have finally reached my goal and think I can fully replace my DSLR system with my iPhone. I took some photos today with the app, and everyone I showed thought they were taken with a DSLR and shocked to find out they were from an iPhone. If I hadn’t told them, they would have thought the photos were from a $5000 camera system. I contacted the developer today with a question and received a reply within 15 minutes. What?! That never happens. Most developers never write back. I know this review is long, and I probably rambled too long, but I want people to feel my excitement and understand how much this app can change your photography.
Working smoothly right now!
Lets me take long exposure shots. My 400 dollar digital camera doesn't' let me do that.
I couldn't find another app that help take nighttime pictures. But you have to realize that the iPhone camera or really any mobile device camera is not optimal for capturing super long exposure starlight pictures.
Not only is the APP just what it says it is, but the response times to my email query was nearly immediate. If every APP developer acted in this manner there’d be a lot more 5 star ratings. Best App for this purpose in my humble opinion.
I just love to take photos with slow shutter camera lol
I use this app for astrophotography, since I don’t have the money for a real astrophotography camera yet.
Expands the possibilities and pushed the boundaries for iPhone photography. Very highly recommended.
Update greatly improves ease of use
I haven't used it much as I mostly shoot with dslr but I know my dear friend Fifi @negrita75 on instagram has made awesome shots using this app and gorillapod for iPhone.
After falling in love with iPhoneography I realised that I missed a few things that I could only do with my SLR camera. But this app has resolved this with an amazing flair. This app is packed with every possible way or scenario to achieve that light trail perfect picture. Well done guys!!
Don't know about artful , that depends on the artist, but if youre in a low light area and for some strange reason you want a pic of something, it surely does bring up the light, the colour definition is of course lost, as the light saturates the image.. Usefulness is low, but lighting is high... I tested the slower shutter speeds for a moving light source, I found the image definition was bad in that case.. Perhaps a lot of fine tuning would have improved it..(I doubt it) But the moving light source would be long gone..overall results were not near as sharp as the promo images, and the colour accuracy was understandably not as good as the native camera..its definitely better than trying to brighten a very dark image later, but not as good as editing a mid light image later...does what it claims.. The artful part in the promo is just blurb...well worth 79cents.. But no more, as it may have a very short shelf life.
Picture came out clearer n less noise in low light condition
