Very Nice, But. The power & precision of this beast packs a punch for your rhythm tracks it’s a must have for serious producers .Feature Request instead of just using my finger to write in triplets once hold is activated can we use the pads to trigger the triplets as we play the pattern in the workflow similar to beatmaker 3 & BeatHawk.

Great value. An inexpensive multi sampler for my phone? Wow! Really enjoying making layered instruments from found sound recordings and when paired with Velocity Pad i can have dynamics that rival an acoustic instrument in my pocket. Just one little weird problem maybe you can help me understand. When loaded as an audio unit and connected to a roli lightpad the samples trigger in reverse. I have tried 3 auv3 hosts and used every midi filter in AUM to no avail. I tried another Bluetooth midi controller and it was normal Also if i run the app in stand-alone mode the problem is gone. Great Drum Machine. Powerful sample-based drum machine with a nice intuitive sequencer. I wish it was easier to map the sequencer to external drum machines, but that’s just me.

Awesome app. I was looking all over for a app that could play custom percussion backing tracks at my shows. This app is it and more. Thanks you 4pockets fo such a great app. Just one thing to add in future updates- please let me choose the different patterns with midi control. That would be awesome if I can select patterns hands free with a midi pedal etc.

The developer was kind enough to follow up and hear me out, and has added layer functionality so that it works the way I need it to and also the way he originally designed it. Perfect now!! Thank you! Edit - 10/4/2019 Sadly, no fix to this fundamental issue, no response from the developer after reporting the bug to their support email. I’m afraid I need to take this down a star due to it not being useful to me at all with multiple layers as-is. ——————- This is a really, really great drum machine. It sounds great and I really like the workflow in general. Lots of improvements and fixes have been coming at a rapid pace. At this point there’s just one show-stopper. I reported it by email but will do so here in hopes it gets addressed quickly. When in velocity layer mode samples stack on top of each other as velocity goes up. Only one sample should play for each velocity layer. Other than that, this app is one of the best I own!

Workhorse with more work to do. Update to my previous review: due to the developer’s continued efforts (thank you!) this app has become way more than just a drum machine in my workflow. I now use it for all kinds of samples, in addition to the onboard drum samples. So easy and quick to get the sounds I hear in my head onto a pad and start playing/sequencing. The multi-layer sample features work great. If there is anything missing it is the UI to see the layers after import (unless I am missing something). Feature request: round robin sample playback is nice, but I use random playback way more frequently. Any chance you could add random option?

I love 4Pockets! Take my money💰💰. Everything they make is top tier and to me should be the go to suit of Audio-Units to buy for your AU Host of choice. Are vital to AUM users and are well priced. This drum machine has it all. The modularity and creative possibilities I have in AUM with the likes of stellar apps such as 4Pockets creative 3 bundle, Atom Piano roll, Chameleon, KB-1 & Flux is really something special. Visuals bundle is next then Vocalist 1 and each bundle until I have em all. Pokémon!!🤣🤣

Keeps evolving...already great!. The sounds are incredible...the UI is friendly and it keeps getting updated with better features! A couple of features would make this app tops...an undo button and a play/record buttons where the pads are. Also, having your last state saved after closing the app would be nice...the app deletes everything after being closed, so make sure you save your beat before closing! I highly recommend this app!

Almost there.. Special high fives for AUv3 sequence arranger for you own kits -and super special high fives for the redundancies built into how to get your samples into a pad and the option of replacing or layering sounds and how multiple layered sounds will be triggered. I tend to default to Arturia iSpark for my staple beats with my own tweaked kits, but only because iMPC 1&2 have midi issues in most iOS DAWs, so I can’t help but compare this app to iSpark, which it immediately kills by how fast it loads. I wish it were a little more intuitively streamline - or I wish i had more time to make its UI second nature - either way I’ll have to give it more attention and get over the weird split in the interface. It is nice that the manual is right there at the bottom of the interface, but scrolling through to reach each part of the UI can be a pain in the ass - don’t know why, it just doesn’t always want to scroll down. Compared to the other sequence arrangers out there, I’d say 4/5 with definite potential for the full 5 just because of its AU status. There are crashes that have been consistent and annoying, but I’m sure like usual there’s a fix that I haven’t found yet short of reinstalling.

I own a lot of drum machines and. This one rates very high for functionality and value . Good interface with a lot of features. Fade roll is pretty great and pitch per step automation, round robin layers, drop and drag samples are also quite useful . Two minor requests : an undo button and an ability to choose step pattern length for each individual instrument for poly rhythms. Thanks.

4pockets = hard working = mysupport. I’ve watched this blossom from its infancy into a superb and extremely useful ios drum app. The dev works quickly at squashing any bugs and has added a ton of useful additions, darn impressive actually. All the apps have a solid and similar design ethos. You know when you are using a quality app because you can dive in and you have some familiarity with certain features and the overall look. I really do like the app design templates, for lack of a better word, with all the 4pockets audio & effects apps. Ok time to play with the newly added auv3 multi out feature! ☮️ edit- please fix the upgrade price it’s more than just buying it outright to digistix 2

Perfect drum app for the Auv3 community. This app keeps getting better with every update. I just have one request it’s fairly simple but I’m not if it’s going to happen. I need an attack knob (ADSR) I know there’s a decay knob but no attack knob. The work around would be in audio editing which is to fade in the audio this can be a little annoying sometimes. So please if it’s possible can we get a basic (ADSR) or should I say (A=attack knob)

Great app very flexible. Love the app has practically everything you need for creating your own beats and drum kits. There are a couple of workflow road blocks that need improving. .1 Drumkit Wave form window should reflect the last pad tap and Change for every other pad tap. .2 Audio Editor: when using Select tool, taping PLAY should play the selected area and not the entire sample. This important when editing and cropping to ensure we get a good start end for playback and crop.

Finally Good Drums for Garage Band. I’m about 30 minute into this app. I always felt Garage Band drums just sucked. Maybe I don’t understand how to use them properly. This app makes it easy to get good samples and adjust their volume with its mixer. Finally I can work on some good sounding drums within GB. Hardest thing to figure out was. Slide up to get to the good stuff.

Sneaky Dope Beatmaker. Just bought this today and it is flames! I plan on doing a full review if this on my channel next week. Question developers? Any plans to evolve this so it can use your awesome fx as inserts and sends? That function would put this on par or above Beatmaker 3! Having fx inserts on each drum would make for not being able to export to individual tracks and really save a lot of time in iOS daws by having all the drums on one track with the ability to still use fox plugins.

Is there a step repeat or drum fill button??. Killer drum machine!! Can’t find the fill button though.

Deep Functions, Easy to Use!. I use multilayer real drum samples to create lifelike custom drum kits, this is very impressive even with only five layers. Could benefit from a polyphony increase from 12 to 16. Another YouTube Soundtestroom buyer. Thanks, Doug.

Has promise but poor documentation. I paid for this app because it specifically states in the description that it allows for round-robin functionality. Although I found where to turn it on, there's no way (that I can find) to stack the sample layers to allow for this. And in the help section of the app, there's no mention of it. The 4pockets.com website appears to be from several years ago with absolutely nothing on there about this app. I wasted my money basically, unless someone can explain how to get round robin to work.

What we needed.. AU3 beast. Developer = top notch. It will be a pleasure programming drums now. One UI request...on a small screen (i.e. - 6s), it’s not possible to display both the sequencer screen on page 2 and the note modification buttons on page 3 (triplets, reverse, fade roll) simultaneously in landscape mode. It would be great if we can latch the note modifier buttons, as a workaround. Turning the screen to portrait mode works in AU3 mode, but is not optimal.

YES!. Thank you to the developer, this app single handedly made it possible for me to produce all of my music on my iPad like I’ve been wanting for a long time. I hope this app is maintained for eternity. Thanks again!

Love this app , one request. This is my favorite auv3 app so far for sequencing drums. Works great standalone and in a daw. Many options and it’s simple to sample your own sounds. My only request would be to add a 1/64 note modifier button for trap style beats. It has everything else, though.

Good Stuff. GUI is easy to learn and functions well ..Swing is on point .One thing missing is the ability layer Samples ..Effects sound nice like bit reduction , reverb , distortion, Eq...It did crash a bunch of times from trying to load samples from the drum kit waveform menu but they do load from the pads fine . The included drum kits are kinda weak . Used some of my own kits and it definitely can pack a punch with effects ..Updated my review thanks for the quick response ..keep up the good work

Read this. As a drum machine for teaching it’s great. The sounds are also good. But it stops there. Problem 1, if your iPad goes to sleep or you use another app then return to DigiStix it plays with no sound, so you need need shut the app down and start again and reprogram beat. Problem 2, I’ve saved a few ideas and I get the same issue, it plays but with no audio. Sound 10/10 Functionality 2/10

Great!. The AU sample in functionality and the sequencer tools are massive time savers. Would love it even more if I could easily control sample playback length.

Incredible. IOS AU plugins are becoming like their counterparts for computers, in the sense that they are often deep and very useful as opposed to simplistic. Digistix Drummer is really blowing my mind. The app is full of features, way beyond what I expected. I am really having a lot of respect for 4Pockets. I liked the apps they created for iOS several years ago, but this series of plugins is turning out to be amazing. I was skeptical because of how many they released in a short period, but they are all very good and well worth buying. This drum app really takes the cake. The really unexpected thing is how solid the apps are, meaning relatively bug free. I hate buying an app that seems good and ends up being not worth it because of it having so many bugs. 4Pockets myst have a very intense management that don't allow releases until thoroughly tested. Thanks and kudos to 4Pockets. I am curious where there got a name like 4Pockets.
