Worked from jump!. I was looking to see if Sonos had any updates to their app and stumbled upon this gem! Loaded super quick! No longer waiting for 3-10 seconds for mySonos app to load. The ability to create zones is excellent as I play certain sets of speaker together almost all the time. Really good app!

What the doctor ordered...finally. Thank you to the makers of Sonophone! Installs and finds your Sonos system with ease. For me after installing the Sonos S2 App I lost the digital representation of volume which I want, this brings that back and then some too. By that I mean the user interface is wonderful IMO. So if you're looking to get back some of what was lost on the latest Sonos app this might be just what the doctor ordered. Well worth the price of entry and its working on both the Iphone and Mac for one price too.

Amazing app, but missing a few features. It’s mind boggling that an independent app writer can do what a multibillion dollar company cannot and make an app that actually works and is responsive. This app is far superior in pretty much every way to Sonos’ official app, down to little niceties such as the icons representing speakers in your system looking like they *actually* do in the real world (as of this writing, the official app has the exact same generic icon for every speaker in your system). The only issue I have is the absence of a few features such as a sleep timer or alarms. If you don’t use those features then this is 100% a 5-star app, and a steal at only $3.

Fast and so useful. Puts the official Sonos app to shame. An excellent, fast, easy to use app that blends simplicity and utility perfectly. Plus each update adds improved design and new options. So nice - thank you!

IT WORKS. Right there, five stars. If you’ve been frustrated/horrified that the primary Sonos app has been turned into a sleazy data-collection privacy nightmare, this is pretty much the only sane alternative now: no “sonos account” to set up, no horrific “we track every click you make and song you play, even from your home collection” terms of service to agree to, no “hey plug in an always-on microphone” cash grab. In an ideal world, it’d be optimized for larger-screen iPhones, but whatever: it works, and it’s let me continue to use my sonos system without having to surrender my privacy. A million thanks.

Everything I’m looking for.. If you’re looking for a better way to control your Sonos system, this is it. Understand, you still need the Sonos app to install speakers and group them. You still need it to register music services. But from that point on, this is a far superior app for managing your system, I am mightily impressed

I love my music / I love my Sonos again. I invested heavily in Sonos when it was targeted at audio freaks with massive local music libraries. The Sonos app walks back from that audience with every release. I get it - but I was in love with streaming platforms alone, the HomePod would’ve been my play. This app saves Sonos. The browsing experience for a native digital library is on fire, with UX that mirrors the categorization I’ve spent years cultivating. Love live this app.

At Last!. YES!! Finally a way to escape the Sonos tyranny of constant buggy “improvements,” excessive dysfunctional updates, and forced obsolescence of my hardware and operating system. Now I can use my system like it was when I bought it. I was about to junk it until I found this app. Thank you!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!. This app rocks. It works! Plug and play works. Detects my system and loaded my music services. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Sonos just bricked my system with the Version 80 update. Dead in the water. The “help suggestions” are garbage. Fortunately that is obvious reading them, and online research confirmed that resetting all my speakers to factory settings is not a good idea. After researching for about an hour, it became obvious that there is no recovery for iPhone app users. No way to revert to a usable app. So I looked for app alternatives. And found this. It works! Thank you.

ahh. When Sonos totally messed up its controller, I was desperate to find a way to access my system. Bought this and SonoPad as well. Both work very well. Well worth the money - would be worth several times more. Since, Sonos has issued several releases. I'm keeping those apps up to date, but don't even bother accessing them. I now prefer SonoPhone and SonoPad.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!. You did what the entire Sonos Corporation had me thinking was IMPOSSIBLE! You gave me a way to control my Sonos System without having an aneurism every 5 minutes! Thank you! I sometimes compare this app to controlling my music on the Sonos app and I laugh so hard. While the Sonos app is still displaying a song that played 20 minutes ago and is basically useless, SonoPhone is effortlessly displaying the correct song, is loaded to the correct part of the song that is playing, and allows me to change the song if I want. If you told me 10 years ago that these basic features are things I would one day pray for, I’d be flabbergasted but here we are. I can’t thank you enough for giving me the ability to still use my Sonos system in my house that I’ve had for 15+ years. I do not exaggerate when I say - I thought I was going to have to sell/ donate my system. It’s been almost 5 months and the Sonos app still hardly functions. Thank you a million times over!! Best $2.99 I have ever spent in my entire life.

It works! Thank you for giving me my Sonos back again!. As other reviewers have posted, I’ve been so frustrated with Sonos and their disaster app “upgrade” from March 2024, that basically rendered my whole home system with multiple Sonos amps and speakers unusable (nothing kills the mood like a sudden change in volume or loss of sound altogether!). This app worked instantly! It recognized all my equipment and my music sources, I didn’t have to do anything. I have music again! THANK YOU!

How is it so fast when the Sonos app is so SLOW?. Sonos should hire the chap who wrote this to tell how to write their own app. It’s blazingly fast by comparison. I switched when Sonos decided I could no longer play my own locally-stored music, and I am so pleased.

Saving Sonos. This app has to be literally saving Sonos. Anyone that is disliking the Sonos GARBAGE app needs to use this one. This app takes a little learning to understand how it functions but is well worth it!!!! Keep up the good work. Sonos needs to adopt your app as their official one.

EQ Settings?. I don’t see where I can set bass, treble, and balance. I don’t see anything in the product description that mentions it’s not available through the app, so I expected to find it. Without it, this is not a full replacement for Sonos’ steaming garbage pile of an app. This app does seem somewhat more responsive than the official, horrible, Sonos app, however.

Everything works!. Downloaded to see if I could play music from my NAS since Sonos removed that capability from their new app debacle. NAS playback works perfectly. Definitely worth the $3.00 to get my music back. Shame on Sonos for releasing such a pathetic app removing capabilities I’ve had for years!

Sonos should buy them, this app is a life saver. As with the vast majority of people who have invested a large sum of money into a Sonos system, when Sonos upgraded their app a while back, it was such a massive failure that I couldn’t even use my system. I spent countless hours trying to reboot and perform diagnostics and then wait for customer service to no avail. I was online reading through the long winded rants from countless other Sonos customers like myself when I stumbled across an article that lead me to this app. I had very low expectations for this app, but I was desperate. It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing, but it functions a million times better than the actual Sonos app. Total life saver. I can spend time listening to my music vs rebooting and sitting on the phone with Sonos tech support as they guide me through the same useless steps over and over!

Incredible. Not even kidding, in 5 seconds of opening the app, EVERYTHING just worked beautifully. I couldn't get all 5 speakers and sub, although all grouped together 100+ times over the last few months in Sonos app to all play together nicely for more than a few days...which every time they updated the app, it would break again. Ahhhh I can finally actually just listen to music on the freaking speakers. What a novelty. 🙌

Perfect. I went from Xfinity to GloFiber network. The Sonos app found none of my devices. It told me I needed to factory reset every device. I was frustrated. Found some great comments about this app and purchased it. Opened it and everything was there with zero issues. Thank you!!!

Feature request and great personal music library search. The thing I love the most about this Sonos controller is its powerful music library search. I do a keyword search and it gives me almost instantly the albums and tracks that have that contain that word. I have my cd library on a network attached storage (NAS) device. Otherwise, the app is functionally a largely a complete replacement of the Sonos provided controller. I have a feature request. The Pandora app allows you to swipe back and replay previously played songs. The Sonos app does not offer that, so I would like to request that in SonoPhone. Also, it would be great to have an option to see only the album art and music controls without the menus for the app. I would argue music lovers also have aesthetic sensitivity (care how things look, too). Because of the less attractive appearance of the app, for now, I will stick with the glacially, marginally improving Sonos maker’s controller. Thanks for a great app!

Best work around if you have a desktop app which Sonos disabled without warning. My thanks to the developer! I don’t want to buy new devices just because developers and device manufacturers are in cahoots. My $2k Sonos system was less than two years old when, without warning, Sonos told me I should update and broke what was working. Further they no means or intention of me going back to what worked before the update! I found out using intuitive reasoning to appoint an iPad app to the share point on my desktop. And I can also play it from my smart phone.

You Saved Me!. The latest version of the Sonos app for iPhone is so horrendously slow as to render it useless. I was at my wits end. Then I came across your app on some forum, and my troubles are no more. Fast, reliable, intuitive. It's everything the Sonos app should be. We spend at least $500 on our Sonos systems, if not thousands. So the $2.99 you charge is worth every penny. Truth is, I would pay more for such a good app. Where can I make a donation? 4&5 Star reviews are quite accurate. Watched the demo video on the publisher's website and thought it was too good to be true. Well, it wasn't. This App is fantastic. Queue functionality, searches, tag recognition quite literally everything Sonos has not delivered in the last 4 years or broke further since May2024. This App saved my summer!!!!!

Sonos finally useable. The official Sonos application immediately crashes now on iOS, and was barely useable before back when it actually ran. I downloaded SonoPhone and can finally actually use my system again.

Actually not bad. I saw an article about this app from Tech Radar, and due to Sonos update for the past 6mo I was desperately needing something different. The #1 thing for me and this app is that ITS FAST, the current Sonos app literally takes 90 seconds to load the current song, and it makes me want to die. This loads immediately and shut up and take my money!

Bravo for doing what Sonos can’t/refuses to do. This app just works. It’s a bit old-school UX-wise, but I hear there’s some improvements on the way. And to the dev - love the screenshot & line about “you control your sonos, not the other way around” - touché!

Sleep timer?. I only downloaded this just now for the sleep timer. I’d downloaded fast. Yippee! I don’t need to set up an account or anything fiddly to get it to work. Yip Yip. But no sleep timer when it’s such a common complaint of the new Sonos interface and (seemingly) easy to integrate? Waaaaah. Please add it. But huge thanks for your work here.

Works Great!. We are among the many thousands who have been screwed by SONOS with their recent 2024 app "upgrade". We would dump Sonos entirely but have too much invested in their hardware. We found this alternative and it works great for us. Our music is almost exclusively on our NAS server which we've organized into folders. We do not stream or use a lot of the newer features. So if you want a replacement app for just playing your own music library this works great.

Still the best Sonos app or there. So many changes and slow responses in the official sonos app but with this one I get things done quickly, and easily. I am ever so grateful it’s available and so responsive to requests. Highly recommend

Quick and Easy. Barebones app, does the needful. This app installed quickly, and found my 16 sonos devices within about one second. No fluff, no extraneous stuff. Speakers, zones and groups, and media selection; all quick, simple and easy.

Perfect!. So frustrated with the official Sonos app and this little gem worked perfectly right out of the gate. It paid for itself in seconds after restoring control on an aging iPad that is still my go-to device. Wish it had an iPad layout but “working” beats “pretty” any day. Overall big thumbs up!

Way better than the official app. The official SONOS app is terrible, slow, unresponsive, hard to navigate, and extremely buggy. It loves to just forget that I had a speaker connected to it yesterday, and after going through the set up process AGAIN, I had enough. It shouldn’t take 10 seconds with a 20% chance of success to change the volume or song. This app fixes that. Changing the volume is easy and responsive. Same with changing songs. It’s so worth the money.

SonoPhone Resurrected My Sonos System!. The SonoPhone app is incredible and everything the Sonos 2 app should be and is not. The simple interface is what I like the best. It also does not make my music lag and disappear like the Sonos app does. You hit a home run! A thankful SonoPhone App user.

Works well. This app works very well. Especially when compared to the official Sonos app. This one is simple and fast. It does everything I need without the frustrating official experience.

Makes Sonos useable again. This app makes you wonder: with all its money and staff, why can’t Sonos fix its app debacle if this app can? And S1 and S2 on the same app too? SonoPhone proves it’s all about corporate priorities. Maybe you can’t adjust certain settings but, fine, the Sonos app still allows that. It terms of search, playback, immediate response, playlist and streaming access, local music access…i.e., everyday use, this app is far superior than the native product. I’ll likely not go back.

Great alternative to the use official app. The Sonos app has been leaving a bad taste in my mouth for years (requirement to register and the inevitable surveillance that follows, need to constantly update and difficult UI) I wish someone had told me there are alternatives! This app worked right after I downloaded. No drama, no headache.

Saved my Sonos system. After the last couple Sonos App updates, I was ready to deep six all my Sonos speakers. Took a chance on this app and it works great. It also seamlessly connected to all my music sources, favorites, etc. And it’s responsive. Took a while to get used to the UI which isn’t perfect but 1000% better than the Sonos app disaster

Outstanding. Barebones interface but incredibly fast and intuitive. If you already have your system set up, everything is ready to go seconds after you open the app for the first time. I’ll never use the official app again.

Reduced my swearing by 10x. Like other reviews have said, the new Sonos App is hot garbage, a dumpster fire, a bag of flaming puppy poo, you get the idea. This has so much reduced my frustration just trying to play my music on my expensive speakers. And the biggest benefit is the lack of lag. That was the worst.

Good, Not Great. Needs: - Way to edit the shortcuts or main menu to remove local library artists/albums/Sonos-playlists if they are not used, and add Search or other nested menu items if they are desired - Search on the main menu without having to navigate several menus into Music Services : Apple Music : Search

It just makes so much sense.... I've been getting more and more frustrated with all the buggy problems with the Sonos app in the past few weeks, and was online looking for solutions when I saw mention of Sonophone. I just installed that on my iPhone and I don't know how but it just worked right "out of the box." All my speakers are there, my Pandora service, and even though the release notes of this app say that there's no playing of music store on iPhone, I am not having any problem streaming music from my iPhone music app to a Sonos One and on to the rest of the speakers with AirPlay like I always did with the Sonos app. The only thing it seems to not do that I would want is to have more under the hood control of Sonos like allowing us to change the 2.4 GHz channel again, but that's probably not realistic for a non-Sonos app. Thank you so much for making this available!

SONOS should buy this. This is such a drastic improvement over their inept attempts to create a usable app it's not even fair compare them. This is fast loading, better organized, and so intuitive. Love it!

Can finally play music from my NAS. Like so many others I found this app after Sonos botched the official app, removing functionality that had made the app and Sonos eco system great, one being able to play music one have on a NAS drive. After I downloaded the app the my music library was empty, but Stefan provided quick support and pointed to an article he had written about reconnecting your local library to your Sonos account. I had to download the windows Sonos controller on my PC and was able to add my NAS drive there and a few minutes later I saw all my music on the app. The app is much quicker than the new official app. Thank you Stefan for making a basic Sonos app that simply “works”.

Get this app. This app works as advertised. So glad I found it. Because Sonos support is nonexistent and my system is unusable ever since the update. Now I can turn my system on control my speakers and have it work instantaneously. Thank you, Sonos phone.

Fixed connectivity issues. I never review apps, but this one cured a headache that has lasted several years. Used to have audio cut out all the time between my speakers, it disappeared almost instantly with this app. Magic. Can’t recommend enough.

Like seeing a number for volume level. I mostly got this to be able to see a number for the volume level, so I can set the volume back to the exact volume I want to be able to hear music in other rooms when I’m getting ready in the morning without it being too loud or having to adjust it when I move into a room that doesn’t have a speaker. I also like being able to get to so much from one screen. Finally, I’m happy to find that this app still works after the Sonos S2 upgrade!!!

I have regained control. Given recent developments of the awful official app, I thought a quick purchase of sonophone couldn’t hurt. This is like a timewarp to the days when I was the one controlling my Sonos system, not the other way around. My kids refuse to use their Sonos speakers because it had become such a hassle to do the most simple things - such as play music! SonoPhone is brilliant. Instant volume adjustment. INSTANT! Queue management, and the long list goes on. Put simply, install this app and wrestle back control. My family now owns this app - peace again in the house. My only suggestions surround the look of the app. It is basic in appearance and appears dates. But frankly, who cares? I LOVE the app. Congratulations to the developer/s for producing something so wonderful. Kudos to all!

Unbelievably good. I honestly didn’t expect it to be so good. It’s amazing I can see all my systems on the 1 app. I have both s1 and s2 generations products so this is amazing to be able to integrate it all. And it’s so much more response then the first party app. Proper game changer it’s worth every cent.

Don't think twice. If you're having issues with the official Sonos app, changing the volume and selecting music, this app works perfectly. Shock and horror, the volume slider works instantly. The official Sonos app it jumps around and doesn't work, or if it does it's minutes later. It's not your network, don't blame yourself, it's the offical Sonos app. Get this guy and all will be good again. It doesn't work with YouTube music, but it does let you use airplay much more efficiently.

Thank Jesus the Lord we are saved. For six dollars I have recovered the utility of thousands of dollars of stereo equipment, praise be. Best money I have ever spent on the App Store.

Why bother with Sonos controller?. I recommend you should forget Sonos controller and replace with this App. Not only it allows iPod iOS 9 or below to play Sonos but there are so many useful features.

Zone creating either broken or bad UX. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but creating zones on this either doesn’t work or I’m doing something wrong.

Omg - Sonos works again!. Wow - it’s like going back in time when the official Sonos app was responsive. I can change volume and it’s instant! No 5 second or more delay!! Instant discovery of my speakers - no huge load lag! I thought the hardware had been bogged down with crappy firmware over the years, but nope - it’s the official Sonos app that has been destroyed. Crashes on startup. Was looking like a decent replacement for the terrible Sonos app but it now crashes on startup so completely useless.

Wow! Who knew?. I love the simplicity of this app and how intuitive it is. Kudos to the developer! It is so worth the price. If there were one thing I would like to see, it would be a graphic equalizer. Even a group of pre-set ones would do.

Sonos - what are you guys doing?. I payed $3.99 for this app because the recent update to the original app made my entire system a useless brick. This app also doesn’t work properly because it fails to load YouTube Music. Unacceptable.

Finally a basic level of functionality. Not perfect but functional. Sad that Sonos official app is so bad, and kudos to the developer for putting together a functional alternative. This should have better features for playlist editing but it doesn’t matter, at least you can quickly make a playlist and edit it.

Fixes my instability issues with Sonos!. After the latest official Sonos app upgrade my system was barely usable. This app allows me to control my Sonos equipment like I used to! UI maybe a little older, but with how fast and responsive everything is. I could not care less.

Not bad!. I decided to purchase this app when Sonos—in their infinite wisdom—decided to stop supporting personal playlists for music on my local NAS or server. Plus their new app is much less intuitive to navigate. Sonophone takes a minute to navigate, has informative icons, and even has crisper, speedier app response. It also supports all the services I had before , plus my playlists. Too bad they don’t offer a trial version—but for $4, recommended.

Better than the official app. Been using this regularly since May 2024. Way better than the Sonos app. Thanks to the dev for the updates.

Saved my Sanity and my Sonos!. This app was recommended on the Sonos Reddit group. I haven’t had music in my house for weeks since the upgrade debacle but this app saved my sanity. If you are questioning the cost, don’t. It’s a small price to support the developer and not have a silent house. Thank you!

Sonos saved!. It just works! No set up. And unlike the crappy Sonos app, no lag time, no delay, no constantly dropping speakers. It just works.

Thoroughly impressed. After my complete disappointment of the last release by Sonos, it was so nice to stumble upon SonoPhone which streamlines all the functionality that used to be in the Sonos app effortlessly. It was so nice to discover that SonoPhone was able to recover all my playlists that I thought had been forever lost with the latest Sonos upgrade. And SonoPhone has just improved this product further! Initially I was thinking this app might just be a stopgap until Sonos finally delivers a usable product, but the more I use this app, the more I enjoy its simplicity and effectiveness. There is a lot of bang for buck in this app. The best $5 I have spent in a while.

Unreal. I was about to sell all my Sonos speakers. I have a lot and couldn’t use my media library on my NAS for months. Found this app and haven’t had a single issue since. Absolutely love it. The only feature that i wish was easier is adding speakers to the music in listening to. This app has what is called zone management…it’s not terrible but i just like the regular Sonos app implementation better. Would be nice to have a way to quickly select other speakers to join the music playing. Besides that, this app is what you need. 5 bucks to make my 5 grand setup work, take my money. Sonos development team should be embarrassed.

Decent but iPhone/iPod version needs more. A decent substitute for the Sonos app, but the iPhone version pales in comparison to the iPad version. I'd love to see the music info services features that are so handy on the iPad on the iPhone version. I know screen real estate is smaller but it would be great to have artist bios and other details. I often reach for my iPad to use this app's "big brother," which has a full set of info service links.

Saved my Sonos System. I have had Sonos since the early days and always loved it, until the big app update. Since then I have hated it. Nothing could solve the lag and instability issues…the system seems ruined. I bought Sonophone and like magic my entire Sonos system runs perfectly. Fast and stable. Excellent product. Bravo to the developers who seem to have done what Sonos could not. Very worth the $5!

So much cleaner interface than Sonos app. Have only S1 system apart from Move which I downgraded to S1. Need the Sonos app to set up, and to downgrade but to play music .. well the Sonos app mess . This app in contrast is easy to use and just works. And the iPad version runs on older iPads- finally a use for the 2nd gen mini LOL. Kudos to the developer.

Better than official app. Switched to this after Sonos broke their official app, and haven’t looked back. It’s lightning fast, accesses my local library, playlists, favourite radio stations etc and just works. Doesn’t roundtrip to Sonos servers to adjust volume or serve me adds. My only worry is if I ever have to change router or network drive I’ll be out of luck - would probably just sell my speakers at that point . Until then, this app rocks

Works on Old Ipod !!. Sonos told me that it's controller app would no longer run on my old Ipod because the IOS was to old and can't be updated. This app works great - it saved me having to purchase a new IPod/IPhone - THANKS !

They need to work on this app more!!!. I so loved using this app for the first hour. But that’s where the love ended! It can’t find my Sonos speakers 90% of the time or half my speakers don’t work. This could be such an awesome app for using with your Sonos speakers. But these developers need to work on the kinks a lot more. Kinda disappointed to be totally honest

Best $3 Spent All Year. I was about to throw away thousands of dollars in Sonos equipment. The Sonos app made it impossible to control the volume, select music, skip tracks, etc. This app solved EVERYTHING!

At Last!. YES!! Finally a way to escape the Sonos tyranny of constant buggy “improvements,” excessive dysfunctional updates, and forced obsolescence of my hardware and operating system. Now I can use my system like it was when I bought it. I was about to junk it until I found this app. Thank you!!

Thanks for a solution to the broken Sonos app. I’m glad to be able to use my Sonos system again since the actual Sonos app doesn’t work properly.

Thanks!. Wish I would have found this app sooner. Night and day difference from the Sonos app. Not only should Sonos hire this guy to fix their app disaster, they should pay him for helping save their business.

End your frustration!. Just delete that glitchy original app from Sonos! This one does it all: connects to ALL your speakers (Older #1 and newer #2) and all your music. It offers all the performance Sonos promised but just couldn’t deliver!

Doesn’t Work for Me. I had great hopes for this app. But it’s no better than the original app. Choppy, in and out play. Unable to control volume on some speakers even though they are recognized. I wanted this to work. But it doesn’t. I don’t even care about a refund. I just wanted it to work …

Really Sad. Had to spend $3.99 just to use my Sonos Speakers! SAD that I’m this excited to control the volume! 4 stars using this product for less than 1 minute is SAD! Please add a dark mode and promise to be what Sonos is not(which isn’t hard to do at the moment) App wise and I’ll change to 5 stars and recommend!

Quick and Easy. Barebones app, does the needful. This app installed quickly, and found my 16 sonos devices within about one second. No fluff, no extraneous stuff. Speakers, zones and groups, and media selection; all quick, simple and easy.

Works better than Sonos. Awesome app that works every time. Don't have to reboot my iPhone every time I update. Don't get ads for additional products I don't need. Seriously I was about to sell my Sonos system until I found this app.

Awesome app - better/faster than official app.. Wonderful app. Way better than the recent Sonos trashy App iteration. Probably the only reason I still own my Sonos ecosystem.

Best work around if you have a desktop app which Sonos disabled without warning. My thanks to the developer! I don’t want to buy new devices just because developers and device manufacturers are in cahoots. My $2k Sonos system was less than two years old when, without warning, Sonos told me I should update and broke what was working. Further they no means or intention of me going back to what worked before the update! I found out using intuitive reasoning to appoint an iPad app to the share point on my desktop. And I can also play it from my smart phone.

Much better than the official Sonos app.. This app is far superior to the official Sonos app. This app actually works! No delays. No clunky convoluted GUI. It would benefit from a sleep timer however.

Works well. This app works very well. Especially when compared to the official Sonos app. This one is simple and fast. It does everything I need without the frustrating official experience.

Worth Every Penny. I wish I had found this app sooner. Sonos should have done better, but they didn’t, so someone did, and for that I THANK YOU.

It just works. Unlike the native Sonos app, which currently is unable to shuffle playlists of more than 100 songs, SonoPhone lets me shuffle my entire playlist.

Simply Simple!. Love this app the moment I downloaded it’s simple and functional. Recommend for anyone who feels that Sonos have made their app too complicated. The requirement of an account for the Sonos app did it for me.

It’s fine and works. I don’t know when this came out but it is better than the broke Sonos app when that came out but it’s not better now after they have been fixing the app. That said if you don’t like the new app this is worth a try.

How is it so fast when the Sonos app is so SLOW?. Sonos should hire the chap who wrote this to tell how to write their own app. It’s blazingly fast by comparison. I switched when Sonos decided I could no longer play my own locally-stored music, and I am so pleased.

Sonos finally useable. The official Sonos application immediately crashes now on iOS, and was barely useable before back when it actually ran. I downloaded SonoPhone and can finally actually use my system again.

Excellent tech support!. Stefan provided excellent tech support as I wrestled with setting up two Sonos systems (S1 and S2) along with an external NAS (which Sonos no longer supports for S2 - 😡). If I could give 6 stars I would! 👍👍👍

Thank you so much for this app!. Sonos fired their testing team and completely destroyed their app in 2024. Thank God for the SonoPhone team, who swept in and saved the day with this app that ACTUALLY WORKS! SonoPhone team, Sonos’ stupidity is your gain. Take my money! Exceptional. Compared to the Sonos app, this is beyond exceptional. I still don’t understand why Sonos could not have done the same.

A reliable alternative. Helps me control the Sonos system without the lag time and timing out. A better way to group and ungroup speakers. Very bare bones and effective.

Saving Sonos. This app has to be literally saving Sonos. Anyone that is disliking the Sonos GARBAGE app needs to use this one. This app takes a little learning to understand how it functions but is well worth it!!!! Keep up the good work. Sonos needs to adopt your app as their official one.

RadioFan. I had spent so much time trying to get the two Sonos apps to work! The Sonos S1 app and the Sonos app. They kept having so many issues. I downloaded this app, now it is so easy to run both legacy Sonos devices and new ones. Thank you for this app!

Sleep timer?. I only downloaded this just now for the sleep timer. I’d downloaded fast. Yippee! I don’t need to set up an account or anything fiddly to get it to work. Yip Yip. But no sleep timer when it’s such a common complaint of the new Sonos interface and (seemingly) easy to integrate? Waaaaah. Please add it. But huge thanks for your work here.

Thank you for solving Sonos app errors. Well worth paying a reasonable price to fix your Sonos app inadequacies. A third party app performs better than Sonos. Love Sonos! but not their app.

EQ Settings?. I don’t see where I can set bass, treble, and balance. I don’t see anything in the product description that mentions it’s not available through the app, so I expected to find it. Without it, this is not a full replacement for Sonos’ steaming garbage pile of an app. This app does seem somewhat more responsive than the official, horrible, Sonos app, however.

Excellent. I love the app. Fewer taps for all important tasks. Quick to load players. Much faster than Sonos app. I am reserving one star for feature I need. Sleep timer!

100x Better Than Sonos App. This app has solved all the weird connection issues I’ve been suffering with while using the Sonos app. The menus are intuitive and the GUI is super nice! Thank you!!!

Reduced my swearing by 10x. Like other reviews have said, the new Sonos App is hot garbage, a dumpster fire, a bag of flaming puppy poo, you get the idea. This has so much reduced my frustration just trying to play my music on my expensive speakers. And the biggest benefit is the lack of lag. That was the worst.

Bravo for doing what Sonos can’t/refuses to do. This app just works. It’s a bit old-school UX-wise, but I hear there’s some improvements on the way. And to the dev - love the screenshot & line about “you control your sonos, not the other way around” - touché!

Fantastic!. I was getting so frustrated with my expensive Sonos system which became useless with the new app. This works on all my devices, new and old. Very happy I purchased this app for both my iPads and phone.

Get this app. This app works as advertised. So glad I found it. Because Sonos support is nonexistent and my system is unusable ever since the update. Now I can turn my system on control my speakers and have it work instantaneously. Thank you, Sonos phone.

Sonos could not do this. This $4. Ap gave me music after Sonos “worked on problems” for 9 months and gave me nothing. Thank you, I am learning my way around this ap but today I listened to 2 hrs of music. Thank you Stephen

Missing support for SonosDock. With the latest update (Oct 2018), Sonos ended support for the SonosDock, which enabled playback and control of iPods, Nanos, etc. by not upgrading the system that functionality could be retained. Now Sonos has disabled iPhone iPad apps that won't update. I had hoped that SonoPhone would be a solution, but not so.

We are saved!. The new Sonos app is complete hot garbage. Just plain doesn’t work. This app is a Godsend and makes a Sonos system usable again.

Great alternative to the use official app. The Sonos app has been leaving a bad taste in my mouth for years (requirement to register and the inevitable surveillance that follows, need to constantly update and difficult UI) I wish someone had told me there are alternatives! This app worked right after I downloaded. No drama, no headache.

SONOS should buy this. This is such a drastic improvement over their inept attempts to create a usable app it's not even fair compare them. This is fast loading, better organized, and so intuitive. Love it!
