SONOS should buy this. This is such a drastic improvement over their inept attempts to create a usable app it's not even fair compare them. This is fast loading, better organized, and so intuitive. Love it!

A must-buy for any Sonos user. This app doesn't do anything the standard Sonos app doesn't, and in fact it is missing a few (relatively insignificant) features, as noted in the description. Where SonoPhone shines, though, is in its interface. It is modern, in the iOS 7 sense, and elegant from an ease of use point of view. Sonos is a great system that, until now, was accessed via an inferior UI. No need to suffer through that anymore. One star is missing for a few small issues that I'm confident will be fixed, and that in no way should prevent someone from buying.

IT WORKS. Right there, five stars. If you’ve been frustrated/horrified that the primary Sonos app has been turned into a sleazy data-collection privacy nightmare, this is pretty much the only sane alternative now: no “sonos account” to set up, no horrific “we track every click you make and song you play, even from your home collection” terms of service to agree to, no “hey plug in an always-on microphone” cash grab. In an ideal world, it’d be optimized for larger-screen iPhones, but whatever: it works, and it’s let me continue to use my sonos system without having to surrender my privacy. A million thanks.

Perfect!. So frustrated with the official Sonos app and this little gem worked perfectly right out of the gate. It paid for itself in seconds after restoring control on an aging iPad that is still my go-to device. Wish it had an iPad layout but “working” beats “pretty” any day. Overall big thumbs up!

Missing support for SonosDock. With the latest update (Oct 2018), Sonos ended support for the SonosDock, which enabled playback and control of iPods, Nanos, etc. by not upgrading the system that functionality could be retained. Now Sonos has disabled iPhone iPad apps that won't update. I had hoped that SonoPhone would be a solution, but not so.

They need to work on this app more!!!. I so loved using this app for the first hour. But that’s where the love ended! It can’t find my Sonos speakers 90% of the time or half my speakers don’t work. This could be such an awesome app for using with your Sonos speakers. But these developers need to work on the kinks a lot more. Kinda disappointed to be totally honest

Widget?. Cool app. Any plans to add a widget? That could make this app a GAME CHANGER!

Great alternative to the use official app. The Sonos app has been leaving a bad taste in my mouth for years (requirement to register and the inevitable surveillance that follows, need to constantly update and difficult UI) I wish someone had told me there are alternatives! This app worked right after I downloaded. No drama, no headache.

Not working. I need help on how to put this app into operation on my iPhone 5. I hope I was not ripped off by a con artist. It is not the $$$ it's about the integrity /honesty.

Saved me from Sonos Controller. Sonos decided in their infinite wisdom to screw their customers still using IOS 6 (e.g. iPod Touch 4G) as controllers, forcing their customers to upgrade to newer OS. i.e. to buy a new iPod/iPhone. Thank goodness for SonoPhone which still works with IOS 6. THANKS A MILLION!

Has potential. Has potential but doesn’t seem to work with my Spotify account despite the claims to the contrary. Absolutely no help from the developer aside from basic common sense suggestions.

Best work around if you have a desktop app which Sonos disabled without warning. My thanks to the developer! I don’t want to buy new devices just because developers and device manufacturers are in cahoots. My $2k Sonos system was less than two years old when, without warning, Sonos told me I should update and broke what was working. Further they no means or intention of me going back to what worked before the update! I found out using intuitive reasoning to appoint an iPad app to the share point on my desktop. And I can also play it from my smart phone.

Much better then the Official app. Easier to use , faster , And a lot more intuitive. , cleaner . Absolutely worth 2.99 . Worth more like double this . Very happy with this app .

Works Great / Update 2. V2 Keep it up! Works great on iOS8. It's very simple and wish it had more support. Sonos should look at this! No issues on iPhone 6 plus. -------- V1 I was concerned with lack of reviews and a few low ones, but man... Works great. Honestly, I think people are too lazy to read. This works if everything is configured from other app. I love the simple interface. Keep up your work!

Still the best Sonos app or there. So many changes and slow responses in the official sonos app but with this one I get things done quickly, and easily. I am ever so grateful it’s available and so responsive to requests. Highly recommend

Impressed!. Pretty much what everybody else has said. Great app for running our sonos speakers. We love that we can look up artists on the internet from the app. We've been using the normal sonos app for a while and this one just seems to work better for us overall. Love this and the iPad version.

Best Sonos controller for iPhone!. Especially if you accidentally "upgrade" the 5.x Sonos product. Keeps me satisfied with the cool hardware. Just needs a timer option.

At Last!. YES!! Finally a way to escape the Sonos tyranny of constant buggy “improvements,” excessive dysfunctional updates, and forced obsolescence of my hardware and operating system. Now I can use my system like it was when I bought it. I was about to junk it until I found this app. Thank you!!

Worked from jump!. I was looking to see if Sonos had any updates to their app and stumbled upon this gem! Loaded super quick! No longer waiting for 3-10 seconds for mySonos app to load. The ability to create zones is excellent as I play certain sets of speaker together almost all the time. Really good app!

Simply Simple!. Love this app the moment I downloaded it’s simple and functional. Recommend for anyone who feels that Sonos have made their app too complicated. The requirement of an account for the Sonos app did it for me.

Like seeing a number for volume level. I mostly got this to be able to see a number for the volume level, so I can set the volume back to the exact volume I want to be able to hear music in other rooms when I’m getting ready in the morning without it being too loud or having to adjust it when I move into a room that doesn’t have a speaker. I also like being able to get to so much from one screen. Finally, I’m happy to find that this app still works after the Sonos S2 upgrade!!!

Sonos needs to buy the rights to this!. This app is worlds ahead of the official app. I like the ROOM selection at the top and how it changes screens so all u see is the room list. Everything is organized and clean. The volume display is a nice touch. The click and drag zones is genius and adds another nice touch. The app's functionality resembles the ease of use of the old official Sonos app, with an updated look. Sonos should be writing u a check to buy the rights to this thing. I am a CI and I will be pointing my customers to this app over the real app.

Fantastic alternative to Sonos App. This alternative allows you to enjoy your Sonos without issues. Unlike the Sonos App, SonoPhone does not require software “upgrades” to be applied constantly to your zone players. They just work. Older hardware is not intentionally disabled (see CR100) yet newer platforms are supported too. This is the kind of thing that one would think Sonos strives for also. Instead, Sonos has happily disabled hardware that customers thought they owned. There are no privacy issues with SonoPhone either. It doesn’t record and phone home your use habits. However, I recommend blocking all access to Sonos.com from your home network once your system has been set up. This prevents your zone players from phoning home. In my case, it also ensures that my zone players aren’t accidentally “updated”. SonoPhone simply works. It’s intuitive, flows nicely, and gets the job done without issues, especially if you assign fixed IP addresses for your zone players and enter them into the App. Unlike the official app, SonoPhone doesn’t get in the way. It launches quickly, displays the relevant info, then fades into the background. The only “missing” features are related to setup, such as enabling a zone player to read from a NAS. All that has to be done with either the official app or a computer. This is the best money I spent on my Sonos system. Thanks to SonoPhone I can still use my CR100 controller, my zone players, and enjoy some privacy too. Thank you, Stefan!

Excellent!. This is what I needed after Sonos stopped supporting my iPod. It worked immediately with no tweaking needed. I am very impressed and also very happy!!

The app that should come with Sonos. The Sonos Controller app is not always a pleasure to use. This app is. This app does 95 percent of what Sonos app does, 100 percent better.

Pretty week. Does some basic things, but not worth $2.99. No EQ, or settings. Very basic. As of May 2015, Sonos free app is better IMHO.

A nightmare to figure out. Needs a better user interface, could not find where to add services

Fantastic!. I was getting so frustrated with my expensive Sonos system which became useless with the new app. This works on all my devices, new and old. Very happy I purchased this app for both my iPads and phone.

Waste of money. I hoped this app would resolve the issues I had with the Sonos software. Unfortunately it did not. I have a 25k play list that it can not handle. Also, I can’t see the app on my Lock Screen. I tried to request a refund, but it would not let me.

Thanks a million. This is a great app it has a font size for real people. The volume displayed as a number is nice. I can tell that app creator really uses Sonos and has improved my experience with Sonos greatly with this app. The app just feels right and I find myself using Sonos again. The stock Sonos app has regressed. Thanks again for a great app.

Feature request and great personal music library search. The thing I love the most about this Sonos controller is its powerful music library search. I do a keyword search and it gives me almost instantly the albums and tracks that have that contain that word. I have my cd library on a network attached storage (NAS) device. Otherwise, the app is functionally a largely a complete replacement of the Sonos provided controller. I have a feature request. The Pandora app allows you to swipe back and replay previously played songs. The Sonos app does not offer that, so I would like to request that in SonoPhone. Also, it would be great to have an option to see only the album art and music controls without the menus for the app. I would argue music lovers also have aesthetic sensitivity (care how things look, too). Because of the less attractive appearance of the app, for now, I will stick with the glacially, marginally improving Sonos maker’s controller. Thanks for a great app!

Why bother with Sonos controller?. I recommend you should forget Sonos controller and replace with this App. Not only it allows iPod iOS 9 or below to play Sonos but there are so many useful features.

Works on Old Ipod !!. Sonos told me that it's controller app would no longer run on my old Ipod because the IOS was to old and can't be updated. This app works great - it saved me having to purchase a new IPod/IPhone - THANKS !

Decent but iPhone/iPod version needs more. A decent substitute for the Sonos app, but the iPhone version pales in comparison to the iPad version. I'd love to see the music info services features that are so handy on the iPad on the iPhone version. I know screen real estate is smaller but it would be great to have artist bios and other details. I often reach for my iPad to use this app's "big brother," which has a full set of info service links.
