Directions won’t connect. I tried to follow the directions, but they are inaccurate for my box. No “external devices” area to select from. Not sure if directv has updated and the app creator has not.

Doesn’t work. This app was great when I downloaded it. I even paid for no ads, but when you close the app out it doesn’t load back up. It goes straight to my home screen on my phone. Really disappointed in this app.. BUYER BEWARE this app needs some work done.

Absolutely Useless. I am giving this app a one star only because there is no option for no stars. First: Claims my email is invalid. Second: Claims the app is free, but requires credit card data. Third: Has significant difficulty connecting to my WiFi.

Crashes. App works great the first time you open it, but if you close and try to reopen it crashes every time. I have to delete the app and reinstall to get it to work.....once....then it crashes again.

Buggy. Set it up, works for an hour. Then, every time you try to use it, it crashes. Apple 10max w OS up to date, DirecTV RC73 remote selected. Please do more testing before deploying.

Crashes. This is the second time I’ve tried this app. Both times ended the same. Works awesome the first and maybe second time. Then it won’t open. Flashes on quickly, then crashes off. Will not work again unless I delete then download again. Just not going to do that again. Don’t waste your time on this app

Have to have internet. You have to have internet to even set it up, and there is no internet here, the remote was lost where I work at and now we have to wait on the new one would have have 5 start but u get a 1 only because it makes me give at least one

Connectivity Issues. Have to reload app each time I need to use it. Crashes after a uncertain amount of time.

Amazing quick fix!. I downloaded this to use while we wait for our new remote to arrive in the mail. (We lost it.) I can’t believe this app works. It’s a great temporary fix IMO.

Won’t open. I downloaded and had it working just fine. When I close the app and try to open it again it won’t open. Deleted app. Re-installed with the same outcome. App is useless

App works fine until you pay to remove ads. I found the app convenient and decided to pay the $3.99 to remove the intrusive ads. Unfortunately, one I paid the $3.99, the app crashes every time I try to start it. Phone restart does not fix it. Now, my option is to remove the app that wipes all history and purchases, download it again, and have the ads, or pay the $3.99 again and habit it crash. Feels like Groundhog Day!

Crashing issues.. Fix it?. Decent app, but major crashing issues, if this was fixed it’d be great but it’s annoying having to delete & re-install the app EVERY time you go out of the app.

Useless. I downloaded this App because I could not find my remote. Apparently you need a remote to connect this device. It was not what I needed.

Zero stars if I could. After the original download the app works great. Once you close it and try to reopen at a later time it will CRASH immediately! Then you have to delete it and then download it again! You have to disconnect after using it or the app will crash immediately after a period of time goes by. Waste of my time! Also some buttons don’t work. Example; the “red dot” is used to delete a recorded program. Pressing this button on the app remote does nothing….

Worked Great!. I loaded it on my iPhone 11 and it connected no problem. Worked fantastic with absolutely no problems. I tried to use that night.,when I opened the remote on my phone and it came on and then off quickly. I rebooted my phone tried it again and no luck. Excellent app just need to tell me what I am doing wrong.

Works great when first set up......but crashes when reopened. This worked great once I opened it and identified my receivers IP address. But it once you close app and try to reopen it the app crashes.

Does not work. I downloaded this app because I lost my remote but I got it connected. Finally it took me about 20 minutes just to connect when I got on there. All I did was vibrate. It did not do anything to my TV. If I could rate this zero stars I would I do not recommend it for anyone.

Works once then need to delete and reload. App works great first time but after that you can’t open it anymore it crashes everytime. You have to delete it and reload it. Please fix this issue

Crashes. Installed with no issues but once I close the app and try to reopen, it crashes. I just installed and paid for no ads but haven’t been able to use it since I installed it. I have uninstalled and re-installed. It still crashes!!! Main reason I installed the app was to have a remote in my possession at all times because my husband can’t seem to share. Now I’m out $20 for something that doesn’t work!!! Very upsetting 😡

Works great!. When I first downloaded the app, I had some issues. Then then I read you must close out the of the app properly. After doing so, the app works perfectly.

Won’t launch. After downloading the app to my iPhone and assigning the remote to a specific DirecTV box IP, the remote worked great. That’s until I closed the app to use my phone, then I attempted to launch the app again and it tries but immediately goes back to the home screen. After many attempts, I deleted the app then reinstalled it. Again, it worked great while app was open. However, once I closed the app the results were the same. I deleted and re-installed it 4 times and tried various remotes. Same issue! Developers need to fix this.

Crashes. After a certain time on it it won’t let me use it no more it keeps crashing

Piece of garbage!. Do not download this app. It is the biggest pice of garbage in the Apple store. It will work the first time you use it but once you close and reopen, it constantly crashes. To use again you must delete and re-download each time. How can the developers know this and not fix?

1/2 a star. I would give them a half a star. The half stars for the great looking remotes but that’s all they have. As the person that said before once it’s downloaded you can’t use it it disappears as soon as you go back to it it goes straight back to your home screen. The app is worthless.

Crap. Worked until I paid $3.99 to be add free Now when trying to open it you see a bunch of different devices click on anything and it goes black and closes it worked until I paid for it

App doesn’t work right. The app closes and just shuts down when you try to reopen it if you could fix that it would be a really good app other then that it works perfect

Wow. Was going to pay the $3:99 for no advertisement, but used app once , did not use for 1 hour, now won’t work. Disappointed!!!!!!

Crashes too often. It was great at first but after use, close and come back it crashes immediately and needs reinstall

Major issue. Works one time after installing. Pick your Direct DVR’s IP address and you are ready to go. If you leave app open you may have to select the IP again to use. However, if you quit app, the next time you try to use it, it opens and quits immediately. You have to delete the app and reinstall again to use.

In need of updates. This app needs to be updated. It doesn’t work for me at all. Last update was 2 years ago and that’s too long.

Only partial controls. Not all actions work. Can’t turn on or off. Can’t pause.

Not worth getting. It works for maybe 10 clicks then keeps popping up adds until it stops working all together. Your forced to delete the app and reinstall it if you want it to work again. It even kept asking me for a Nickname but refused to use the first 8. I bet if I was posting a review it liked I wouldn’t of had such a problem

Problems. After I close the app I cannot reopen it. I must delete it and reinstall. It’s frustrating to say the least. The sound functions don’t work nor does the button to stop a recorded video. If the writers fix these problems it will be a smashing success.

Junk app.. Couldn’t get it to work and tried for hours. It seems to be a gimmick to get you to accidentally download another app as you’re trying to set this one up. My advice is to not waste your time with this poor app.

Not easy to install and crashes. It’s not easy to install because it doesn’t explain that you need to know the IP address to your network. Once you figure that out the rest is a breeze but it will crash you get one get use out of it before you have to delete it and restore it back again.

Works but you have to disconnect. We lost our remote and this app is just what we needed to get off the hallmark channel. The only downfall is if you don’t disconnect from it then when you try to open the app at a later time it will crash and you’ll have to delete the app and re-download it. Other than that it’s great and does exactly what we need!

No buy. Free version worked fine. Once I paid to remove the ads, system crashes and will not load.

This is a scam, it doesn’t even deserve one star!. I downloaded this application and I was told it would be free, but I got charged almost $40 plus another two dollars for something that ended up being a dating app instead of a remote control for my DIRECTV. I tried to cancel, and there is simply no way to do it and I ended up having to report this as a fraud payment and I now have to get a new credit card. I am currently having several major health issues and don’t need to go through this right now. Do not download this app.

Crashing issues. Easy to set up and works great once downloaded. However once you’ve gone out of the app for any reason and come back it crashes. So you need to delete the app and reinstall. Can’t complain other than that.

Crashes. Downloaded the app, connected to television, paid the $3.99 then the app crashed. Unable to use this. Restarted the phone yet the app would not open. I want my refund.

DoestvWork. Tried to open app, every time I try to open the app it takes me back to the App Store to other apps. I never could open the remote control app

Bugged app. The app is flawed, once you download it and use the first time it’s fine. Once you close the app and come back to use the app, it will not open. It literally opens for a split sec and closes. This will happen over and over until you delete the app and download it again. This has happened in exact fashion every time I’ve ever used the app.

Waste of time. Tried using a few different remote apps for my genie receiver and no problems, but still looking for the one that is the most convenient.... Well no matter how many different WiFi networks I try connecting both my phone and receiver to, it just will not find any of the receivers in my home. Tried deleting and reinstalling, resetting my receiver box, everything can think of, and nothing..... what a waste of my time, good thing this app is designed for direct specifically..... what a waste!!!!

Terrible app😕😕😕😕. The app is absolutely terrible it works for one night and I was very excited. But after that the next day it did not work at all it wouldn’t even let me get into the app.

DONT DOWNLOAD. It is the WORST. After the whole process of setting it up, it asked me to USE the remote to set it up. If I had a remote, I wouldn’t have a reason to download this.

Worked great and then.... It didn’t work at all. I was able to use it after doing other things on my phone the first day I installed it, but after that it just kicked me out everytime I tried to use it. Disappointing. On my Android there were several Directv remote apps that worked with no issues. Not so lucky with this iPhone. 😫
