SilverSneakers GO Comments & Reviews 2026
Love Silver Sneakers!. I love Silver Sneakers! I have been using the app and exercising with instructors on Zoom in my home as well as going to the gym sometimes too for the last 3 years. There has been an increase in Zoom exercise choices which start early mornings until evenings. I enjoy the different instructors and the exercises are fun as well as great workouts. I am feeling so much better and have lost weight while using it alone with changing my eating habits!
Awesome Go To. I’m so impressed with this program silver sneakers and all the instructors. When you get on a activity it’s a big family you become apart of and we are from all over the globe 🌎 which is awesome the instructors allow the chat to be open for a few and they try to greet everyone by name it allows you to feel apart of. 😊 Blessings 🌻
I’m so lucky to have Silver Sneakers!. Silver Sneakers has definitely played a large part in my ability to workout to stay fit. My local In-Shape club is a mile from home. I walk there, workout for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, then walk home. When I’m away from home, I can keep my fitness schedule unaltered because I’ve found Silver Sneakers clubs wherever I’ve gone. What a great reward for becoming a senior citizen.
Not inclusive enough. I’m sure SilverSneakers is great for some people but I have a disability from a car accident several years ago. I’m only allowed in the water per my doctor. I’m NOT driving to a side of town known for its gang activities nor am I driving to another town over 45 miles away in order to be able to find a participating gym with a pool when there is one less than 5 minutes from me that SilverSneakers no longer participates with. All I’m saying is they need to consider the needs of everyone and not everyone can do exercises that they offer but would love to be able to do water aerobics. SilverSneakers is a useless benefit for me.
Easy to use. I have been using Silver Sneakers for about a year now. The app is a great time saver. I like that it keeps my activities and sends a reminder notification without downloading and adding the activities to my calendar. The inability to rotate the app is my primary peeve. The other option that would make it better is if I could add in advance more than one week’s activities. Keep it up, you’re getting there.
USER UNFRIENDLY. I was excited to try the SilverSneakers app, but my experience was extremely frustrating. As someone who primarily uses the desktop version, I expected at least a straightforward login option. Instead, the app immediately redirects you to a "Create Account" screen—there is no way to simply log in. Attempting to navigate around this prompts the app to boot you out entirely. After repeated attempts, I had no choice but to uninstall it. This is incredibly disappointing for existing members who just want a seamless way to access their account on mobile. A simple login option should be a basic feature, and the lack of it makes the app practically unusable for many. Until this is addressed, I cannot and refuse to recommend it.
Enjoying the program. I have enjoyed the zoom webinars the most. The app could be improved. Would like to rate instructors and get info about them as well. The app lets you rate the activity of the class but it is very basic so no real room to critique appropriately. Love being able to get decent workouts at home. Some of the most fun classes with awesome instructors are only offered randomly and rarely. It would be nice to see them more often or have the opportunity to let SS know that one would like to see that happen. In other words, the chance to give constructive feedback is VERY limited. If you email or try to ask questions the responses are automated and generic.
I’m enjoying the app!. I was finally able to find what I’ve been looking for👏👏👏!! Finding all types of classes live and in person. Always available times to just take in a class on a daily basis. I found live classes that fit my stability to fitness and find the nearest gym for my needs that I’m really glad. Finding get organized with my live classes and in person classes all in one SPOT!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Needs work. I find it difficult to use the orientation, as it only offers vertical in one direction. It would be nice if you could see the app horizontally, which is easier to read. Also, filters aren’t very useful if listings don’t provide more detail about services; i.e., If you’re just looking for yoga classes, there’s no filter option for it and even though some of the providers listed offer it, you have to contact each one to find out if they’re having classes or not. There are also filters for acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, etc.; but if you select only those filters, you get “no matching locations“. Maybe those services are available in some locations, but why show them to me in my location if I don’t have the option of using them. This app needs some refinement and updating to make it useful.
Makes me feel ALIVE!. I am so thankful for this app! It has helped me WANT to exercise because I can do it in my home, enjoy live instructors , do things big or do them small. The biggest thing is keeping my body stronger and healthier as time and gravity fight my fitness and health. The exercise helps me remember I have abilities and strength to carry things out! Thanks for providing this needed healthcare tool!
Just average. Joined silversneakers a few weeks ago and downloaded the app at the same time. Frankly i’m a little disappointed. The app is not very robust in allowing you different ways of tracking your workouts. For instance, if I go to the gym and work on strength training, aerobics and yoga why can’t I select all three of these items? The app only allows you to select ONE item. And why no duration for the workout performed? I can go for 5 minutes or 2 hours and in the app it makes no difference! If I tell the app I’m visiting the gym ahead of time I can only select “general workout”, or “class” and that’s it! I’d like to know what I did that day for recording purposes. I’ve used better apps..........
Wonderful variety of at home workouts! Line Dancing: so fun for mind and body.. I started using this during 2020 and have never stopped. For about a year they have skilled teachers leading different line dancing classes and I love them. Plus there’s a large variet of strength, cardio, stretching and so many others. 7 days a week! There is a focus on performing all of them safely- great for everyone. Highly recommended for anyone eligible.
Best App Ever for an Amazing Program. I didn’t know about this program until my Mom moved into a 55 and over development in Wildwood, Missouri. My Mom was 87 at the time and if you moved into this community you had this program offered to you Free if charge. My Mom is now 93 and still working out. She said that is what keeps her living so long. This App makes this so easy for Seniors. I wish they had this App for all others. This App is Very user friendly.
Love this app. Thank God for Silver Sneakers and having access to such great classes via this app! I started during COVID, as a recommendation from a friend. I’ve stuck with the Cardio Mix Zoom classes (5days a week) and try out the others when I can. They are easy to access, no driving necessary, so NO excuses. The instructors are encouraging and the app addresses all different levels and types of activities. My only recommendation would be to have at least one on demand video for each instructor, in case we (or they) aren’t available, so we can still access our preferred instructors.
Love the new active stretch classes. I appreciate your knowledgeable instructors in live zoom classes. The instructors interact via chat room and availability to ask questions. Silver Sneakers has recipe classes, motivation classes, Pilates, active stretch, and a variety of every changing classes.I am west coast time and I am so appreciating your afternoon classes. Thanks for being my fitness partner. I am so glad my advantage program offers Silver Sneakers. I check in a couple times a day. Thanks.
Variety in workouts. I have enjoyed my walk workouts. I need that little push to see me work harder and longer. I noticed a big difference in the intensity of the same class with different instructors. So it’s good to switch up as needed for each day. I find I can’t schedule ahead as my days can change depending on the needs of others. The flexibility is there to schedule as time permits. Loving the live workouts!
Turn Off the Chat “Feature”. Not all user devices have the ability to turn the chat off. Mine certainly does not. I am extremely disappointed that subscribers find it necessary to throw into chat annoying comments during live exercise sessions. These comments of announcing “they just joined in” or greetings block my visual view of the instructors’ performance of the exercise. Turn the feature off completely and let subscribers use the Q&A with their comments!!!
Wonderful. SilverSneakers, itself, has saved my life by giving me so many options to move at my speed and ability. I was non functional and moving anything was painful. I have been able to get fit again. I use the app exclusively and have had no issues. I highly recommend the program and the app!
Glad to rediscover Silver Sneakers. I used to use SS by going to the nearby Y and it was great. When I started watching my newborn granddaughter 3 days a week, I stopped. That was 8 years ago. After battling cancer last year and now being in remission, I decided to be healthier in every way. This app lets me do just that. I look forward to my live sessions and in the past month, my energy and strength are increasing. I may be late to rediscovery, but I’m here to stay. Thank you! Ruthe S
Really Helps with Motivation!. I recently started using the Silver Sneakers app and program. I was hesitant and gave every excuse as to why it probably wouldn’t work for me. I’m happy to say all my misgivings were false! I’m one month into the process of trying to lose weight and get healthier. The online programs as well as on site facilities are fantastic! I have plenty of options for workouts and I feel great for the first time in a while. Thank you to all the instructors that help keep us motivated!! I’m excited to see my transformation. Great app and program, I highly recommend it!!
Absolutely amazing. There’s over 300 programs a week there’s all different fitness levels very little equipment required lots of fun you become part of a social group people from all over the United States. It was so sad. some of the insurance companies pulled out for 2026 shame on you for not supporting your elderly population in a positive healthy manner in a new
Pelvic floor exercises. I would love to do more in your app. However I am female with what the majority of senior females problem is and that is incontinance. Having a recent surgery , I am faced with something I have never had before and that is incontinance. I am concentrating on fixing that problem through exercise. However I cannot find any of those aforementioned exercises unless I go on you tube and search them out. The ones that seem to be helping most are the pelvic floor along with kegals and all exercise helps. But I am concentrating on pelvic floor strengthening and I sure would like to find some on silver sneakers app. Thanks
Super slow app. I don’t think I’ve ever used an app with so many glitches. I sign up ahead of time in the app for local silver sneakers classes. I like to come back at the end of day and finish that day showing that I actually participated. Most of the time it takes as long as 2-5 minutes for the classes to even show up on the calendar and when they do it takes at least 30-60 seconds for the complete button to come up. I’m also unhappy that logging in is such a hassle now. It used to be so much easier just going to passwords and letting it autofill. I can’t make that work any more. I’m thinking about removing this app from my devices.
Love this app!!. I have been using this app a while now, to log my daily exercises. It’s really nice to see my progress during the month, and, to log everything that I do daily. My one wish is, that the time started, could be manually put in, rather than the pre-selected times. Sometimes I don’t begin right at a quarter hour point.
Maria cardio Mix. While Maria is happy, enthusiastic, and positive, it is not one of my favorite classes. The moves are almost exactly the same every time...no new movements, no effort to keep it interesting. I get tired of trying to inhale and exhale about 30 times with Maria...not only is it boring and not a real exercise, but the exhale includes doing”party snake” hand waving and “disco hands”....I have no more breath to exhale after the party snakes. Today we stood on one foot for over 2 minutes while Maria talked about various things....it is good to distract us, but it was too much. I really need a cardio class so I keep coming. I do take Zumba classes also, but they are not always offered when I can take them.
Love this. I’ve never been more happier now that I workout almost daily. Why I didn’t do this while I was younger I don’t know. This has changed me mentally and physically and I’m receiving positive comments from friends and coworkers on how I look. I joined silver sneakers through Anytime Fitness. My instructor is available for me during normal operations and through texting. I’m 63 and feeling younger except for my arthritis almost a new person…Ty for this!!
Frustrating App. I use this app daily. For one thing it is super irritating with the app is that you have to sign in with email and password every time you want to use it. The app will not stay logged in even 10 minutes later!!! The app is also not user friendly. It’s not easy to figure out how to use it either. Im sure there are quite a few features to use, but no way to get to them. I would have given one star, except I do like the workouts. Just not this app. Please update to stay logged in on my device and to make more user friendly. It is Senior Citizens that are trying to use it, not super savvy computer geeks.
Love the options. I am lucky enough to have this program covered by insurance. I love the different live classes offered as well as the video library. I took a star away because I would like to see the program available to all seniors regardless of insurance. If insurance covers it, it shouldn’t be that expensive. The option for private pay should be offered.
Never Too Late. Omgosh, I LOVE the Silver Sneakers’ app! It proves that no matter how old you are, it’s never too late to start working out, even if you need low, moderate, or high intensity exercises! I will admit that I have to cancel some sessions due to things I can’t avoid, but the app even makes it so easy to cancel if needed! I appreciate all the work the instructors, schedulers, etc.....put into it; it makes life so much easier!! Thank you for offering Silver Sneakers!!!!
Your recent Update is really bad. I have loved this app and can only use the on line video library do to where I live. Over the last few days you made and update that now does not let me complete a online workout without logging me off requiring me to log back on. Of course I can not go back to my workout and have to start over. I tried touching the app every 5 or 10 minutes and it still logged me off half way through. Please fix this issue so your app is effect for us online video users.
I can’t see the class instructor. So thankful for silver sneaker live classes that is why I am taking the time to let you know my thoughts. I would like to just use the ap but I want to be able to see the class instructors. I also have problems at times joining a class with the ap. There is a rough transition to zoom. Even though it is past start time of class I have to try several times to open to class. I would also prefer to not receive emails confirming or reminding me of classes. Is there a preference setting for this. A text reminder would work better for me. Thanks for all your work💕
Love Solver Sneakers!. I enjoy being able to work out at home. You have such a wonderful variety of classes and ability levels, both live and on line. I am able to try such a large variety of activities that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to sample and enjoy. I love Brenda’s and Jen’s cardio dance. They can break down steps and moves so well. All of your instructors are so personable and excellent! I also use my membership to go to Snap fitness and use the weights and fitness machines several times a week for strength training. Keep up the wonderful work and programs for us seniors! I am 73 and not ready to settle down yet!
It’s okay.. The Fitbit app it a lot easier to use. If this wasn’t linked to rewards, I probably wouldn’t use it. It knows if I sign in from my phone but doesn’t credit my workout to my account if I use my log in from my TV. It’s dumb to have to work out watching a 17” screen when I have an 85” TV. I had to turn off notifications because I was really getting hammered. I do like being able to log all my workouts, short & long. I will hop on the rebounder in front of TV when it strikes my fancy, or put on a music video channel & dance for 30 minutes, just because & so tracking all workouts is a plus. I wish DESPERATELY that we could log workouts in real time. What is the big deal? I find myself waiting for the quarter/half hours to start workouts. If it syncs with my Fitbit eventually, why not? I do think the Fitbit app (unfortunately bought by Google last year) is probably the best user friendly app of its type. This isn’t bad. It’s just not “great.” Being able to enter a real time would go a long way toward improving it.
Good. This is a good app. I am really enjoying the classesI have done this past week. The various trainers are all fun and encouraging and I am starting to get a feel for my style preferences. I do wish there was a way to get help with class selection as I am not not sure which are best for my needs particularly putting together a program for a 75 yo in decent overall health but who has put on 30 lbs. since covid became an issue and walking 4-5 miles a day is not helping even though my calorie intake is on the low end.
Guided workouts. I am a fan of the app and the concept seems good. I use it mainly to schedule and keep track of in person sessions at my fitness center. With the pandemic it hasn’t been much of a help. So I decided to give guided workouts a chance again. They don’t function, if you watch the video for the exercise it messes with the workout. When you hit start it jumps to the next workout. When you hit previous exercise the timer doesn’t always work. The videos show in landscape and the exercises show in portrait mode. I am so frustrated after trying three different workouts that I am not sure that I will try any more. I want a guided workout to go from beginning to end just like an actual in person session. A pause button for rest or equipment would be good but continue where it was before I hit pause. A timer bar or clock would be nice but the instructor count should be sufficient. An equipment list on each exercise screen should be available with a complete list at the start. In general the easy and intermediate seem geared to someone who has never worked out at all.
Yoga class online. This was my first time trying yoga; it was really fun & on some of the positions I could feel the old”Jane Fonda Burn”. The teacher was good explaining what to do on each position. Trying to watch her & doing the position correctly, my. Head wasn’t pointed in the right direction. As I get more comfortable doing yoga I won’t have to watch her as much. The online classes sets a high bar for other good health sites. Silver Sneakers is 5 star & I‘ll recommend it to my Fitbit friends!
Love classes except music! Miss Zumba. We have been doing the live classes since Covid when we stopped going to the YMCA. We like them a lot and never returned to the Y. Many good instructors. I really, really miss my favorite class- Zumba with Demaris. Another instructor said the same thing. I emailed Andi a while back and found out due to copywriting good music can’t be played. Demaris was able to use the best music. Will another Zumba class be brought back into the list? Or any way of getting better music in any classes? Thx!!
Useful App. You have managed to include a LOT of functions into this app. I find some things easier to use than others. I need structure as motivational support so I find scheduling a balanced variety of exercises across a week to be helpful. But little glitches in the app can make that tricky. Scheduling a month is simply not possible. Things just don’t work well for any time period longer than a week. I agree with the review of Guided Workouts; there are technical issues I assume user feedback and constant attention to updates will continue. I like what I can get from the app. I appreciate the range of abilities allowed. As a post car crash rehab patient with bilateral knee replacement followed by full treatment for 2 cancers, this 76 y-o appreciates the VERY gentle beginner level activities. I plan to work at this until I can return to the intermediate level I was pre-accident. If you keep working out the bugs, I plan to use it until the end.
New to the program. I am new to this app and group Silver Sneakers..but im also a typical couch potato..I was hoping to be able to get some suggestions on what is best for my osteoarthritis..I've been working for over 30 years at a desk and I'm not really one to exercise..the bad back 5 blown discs causes much pain but is like to be able to find a way to alleviate it thru some kind of movement program.. So since I don't see an online chat button on the app in disappointed..that's why only 4 stars
Almost perfect, but.... The app is fantastic however I have not yet found out how to get to the store on the app. I have to go to the website. Also I have to sign in every day when I use the app. It doesn’t remember who I am and there is nothing to check to ask the computer to remember me. Otherwise everything you need is there. The classes are fantastic the teachers are even better and the program can’t be beat especially during this Covid time. It would be nice if they could have more on-demand classes like maybe record some of the online classes as they were happening and make them available to members.
Newbie. I just downloaded app and getting familiarize with so many options! So far this past week I’ve joined live workouts for 15 minutes and I’m already starting to feel much better, physically and mentally. I’m 80 years old and had a very bad fall last year which left me unable to exercise for one year. I’m so thankful for being able to work out from my home and slowly get to moving again. I’ve done total of 3 live classes and today scheduling more. Also thank you for email reminders and links to get into zoom webinars. One of the classes I joined was too hard to follow but I will join that one later as I get stronger!😀
Not that fit. I expected that there would be an option for actual seniors, not skinny fit people who’ve always been fit. Even their lowest level activities were too much for me. I lost motivation very quickly and was very demoralized and disappointed. I was also trying to activate Apple Fitness plus, but found no place in the SS go app to do so. I really HATE exercise, so I need something that starts out with something easy and short, like 5 minutes. And then builds on that as I am able. 😒😢☹️😔😡
The impact of Live Stream Online Classes. The people behind Silver Sneakers may never able to accurately measure the impact of their master creativity, thoroughness craft programs, engineering in synchronized with cracked , old bones …on an old woman like me. I have a gym membership for some years, but I lived too far from convenient and lack of motivation to go. Moved back to town in April, where internet service is as natural as the air that we breathe, I discovered Live Stream Online Classes by pure accident. I am not exaggerate in saying that Silver Sneakers has thrown me a lifeline. For some times, I feel like my existence rapidly evaporated. The lightness of being insignificant was unbearable. I was all packed, anxiously waiting for the last ride. But I changed my mind. In my totally safe bedroom, in front of a large computer monitor, I learned feet stomping, hands clapping, mostly just stumbled around, utterly silly . The best thing is no one see me !!!
Essential for me. These online classes are important to me at age 71-I lost a lot of flexibility and tone during this COVID isolation after our classes stopped. I am grateful for the alternative - I hurt my foot when I first started but am back now. The variety of classes and instructors is first rate. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it keeps listing my attendance as incomplete- maybe because I don’t interact before, during, after? I completed every class so far except one which was just too difficult. When we are done exercising I logout!
Assumes you are half dead and dumb. Not accurate, as it rounds speed of activities such as biking, walking, and running to the nearest mile per hour. It cannot register for example 15.5 miles per hour, so it becomes 16. Program activities are designed mainly for couch potatoes and site includes advice like a fitness watch might not be right for you because it expects 10,000 steps. First, this shows an ignorance of today’s devices ability to adjust to the wearer’s level of fitness. Second, it is patronizing, and third, it does not recognize the number of highly fit seniors who still bike, run, hike, and swim long distances.
Love the program! Not the App.. I am a new Medicare member and regularly active with Pilates, walking, hiking, and occasional kayaking and canoeing. I am truly impressed by the fact that my Medigap health insurer (Blue Shield) recognizes the connection between physical activity and good health, which will result in lower health claim costs over time. Aside from the dorky name (this is the Rolling Stone generation after all), the Silver Sneakers program is an awesome example of prioritizing long term over short term profitability — to the benefit of its plan. The program: I do Pilates 3 times per week. In between I plan to start using equipment at he gym now that my shoulder surgery recovery is well along. I am now getting emails from Silver Sneakers saying things like: “Machines not your thing?...” etc., pretty insulting. The app: pretty weak. - I record all of my workouts in my Fitbit App. Find a way to grab these please. I don’t want to enter them all twice and now I wonder if my insurer will think I am not exercising, which at some point may impact premiums. - why can’t I modify the list of workouts available when I log a workout? I have to enter the same custom workout every time I log a Pilates class. - why can’t the app get data from the smart machines at my Silver Sneakers gym? - why can’t the app get data from my Fitbit watch with my consent? - provide settings that allow me to stop seeing stupid questions like “how hard was this workout?” and “how did this workout make you feel?” Complete with happy and sad faces. - Along with many of my peers, I am a tech-savvy adult with an active brain and I still work. This app is designed by younger adults who think that older adults have the mental acuity of first graders. The entire approach needs a complete makeover that is more empowering and less condescending. Young developers: think of what you would want in this app if it was for you- not for your preschoolers. You would end up with something more like a Fitbit or Apple Health app and less like a cartoon version of a fitness app. Take the time to talk to the people using this program.
Keeps me on track. Very flexible. Helps me determine my daily routine, offers progression in those routines as I get more fit and provides lots of well-rounded choices to suit my capabilities and needs. I use this 5 or 6 times a week, depending on my schedule, and have been using this since the first of January. I have trimmed 20 lbs of excess weight and feeling really good!
Silver Sneakers rocks!. The convenience and content of the Silver Sneakers app is great! Having access to such a variety of online, live, classes has increased my mobility. balance, and strength. It took a few weeks to see noticeable improvement, but then one day, bam! I could see and feel a definite difference in how I felt- mentally and physically . I I love the 15 minute sessions! would encourage anyone to make use of the app!
Excellent in-home workouts. I love way out in a rural area and recently dropped an Anytime Fitness trainer membership to return to Silver Sneakers. The ease of signing up daily for the next day’s workouts and not having to make a 30-mi round trip plus the cost of the trainer is wonderful. I love the express classes and the increased number of strength classes. My only issue is that I’d much rather be doing SS classes than housework. Wide variety of workout options - I really love this program and the excellent instructors around the country.
Queen of Zumba Gold. This is a review of Damaris and her Monday, Wednesday and Friday Zumba Gold class. Since June 1, 2021, I have been a regular enthusiastic participant. I feel 100% better starting my day this way. Through darkness or light, following her happy and strong moves at 5:30 am gives me energy and vision in my goal of living longer to see my grandchildren accomplish their goals. I have never been so committed to being active, although in my 74 years, I have tried many fitness programs. And Silver Sneakers gave it to me. Thank you! Now one small ask: how about more Zumba Gold classes, and have a couple on your recorded classes. I’ve tried other classes, but Fit Steps, which I enjoyed, was too stop and start for me. It’s like the teachers would stop, look at their feeds and preview steps. I just can’t stay in the rhythm of moving. Thank you!
