Great app but.... I love this app, I love the oil painting feel to the paintings while I’m physically doing the motion to color in the pieces instead of tap to color. After using this app for free for several months and watching all the ads I could to gain coins and buy new packs I want to color, I decided to try the free trial to maybe go premium. I was excited for the no ads and to be able to still build coins without watching the ads and to be able to buy packs I wouldn’t otherwise be able to. However, buying the premium or the subscription is not really as great and freeing as I thought it was going to be. It will not give me pop up coin options while coloring anymore so the ONLY way to get coins and buy packs is to watch ads. I’m also not allowed to buy the packs only offered to subscription members, I completely have to wait till I reach that level, which might take months. I just feel like for $9.99 a month or $50 a year I should be offered more options than just not having ads. I’m PAYING for this app, I should have 100% access to everything if I pay out of my own pocket for a game

Frustrating coloring book. This app is weird. I downloaded it because the App Store recommended it some time ago. Honestly, I think it's because of the $10 a month in app purchase. I think this is an art app, but it's more like a game. You randomly get stars, that you need to unlock coloring books, but only 2-4 pictures are unlocked per book. There is also another random occurrence that gives you gold coins, after watching some irritating ads. Those gold coins can be used to purchase the remaining pictures in the coloring book. But, for the monthly fee (which is insanely high) you apparently don't have these annoyances. For $120 you can buy a lot more real coloring books and art supplies (crayons, pens, pencils), especially if you go to the dollar store. I really wanted to like this app. The controls are weird, am I coloring, or scrolling? The app doesn't seem to know. Well, I guess I was near a section that needed to be filled in, so it seems to want me to do that instead of scrolling, but I wanted to be scrolling. The zoom level goes from super zoomed in (like a pixel in the painting is almost half the screen), to not quite far out. I'd like to see more on the page, but when you do that it shows you the picture with some animation, not really what I wanted. I downloaded this app to help me relax, but I think it just gets under my skin. YMMV.

A great Coloring App. I’m a little biased in my opinion because I have been using April Coloring since the beginning. I pre-purchased the app. They had a little trouble getting it off the ground with a month delay, but to me it was worth the wait. In the beginning the pictures were somewhat drab with little detail. However, I was one very active commenter then and said my piece with others. The developers listened and today almost seven years later there are lots of galleries and pictures to color. All with vibrant colors and lots of detail, keeping me happy and relaxed. Plus, I still subscribe because I can’t imagine missing any pictures. So let the complainers complain, I know it works for me.

Pretty good, except…. I really do enjoy this app but sometimes there are just far too many ads. Nearly any time it loses focus - because an alarm goes off, someone calls, you are a pixel off with your finger when sliding the palette - an ad plays. Sometimes they’re short, sometimes they’re long, and nearly every time it will steal sound focus as well, so whatever you’re listening to gets paused so the ad can blare at you (regardless of if you’re in silent mode or not). So, I like the coloring, but oh my friggity doo do I hate it when I tap a new color and somehow that messed up the focus and so now I gotta sit through an ad. Like, that is exactly what just happened and why I’m writing this - my groove got thrown off and I am as furious as a Mesoamerican Disney princess about it. It also starts to lag after finishing a couple pictures. I don’t know if it’s because I’m listening to podcasts at the same time, but either way I have spare memory (over 10gigs, and if it needs more then there’s something definitely wrong/poorly conceived about it) and I still have to restart every other picture or so. It’s annoying as heck. I hate it.

Good game, greedy ad implementation. April Coloring is a very enjoyable app, even if you’re like me and don’t want to bother with a subscription. There is a pretty reliable way to collect in-game currency to unlock pictures otherwise barred behind the subscription service. However... There is no quality control whatsoever going towards the ads you do get, or the length. What is especially infuriating are the unskippable 30-second ads, some I would rather close the app over rather than watch. I have very strong opinions about weight-loss ads. I think they’re disgusting and exploitative and that it is completely unacceptable and immoral to feed off human insecurity as a moneymaker. These ads are in the unskippable 30 second format, and yes, I close the app to reboot when I’m given them. This app is in serious need of quality control regarding the content of its ads, and unskippable 30 second ads should not exist. Period. Make it possible to forfeit your reward for skipping after 5 seconds. I will not tolerate abusive ads. I will force close the app every single time I come across one if necessary.

This app has changed my life. When I first downloaded this app, I was looking for a game to play when I’m bored and have nothing to do. I started playing and I couldn’t stop. I absolutely love this app and how much it has done for me. I always have trouble focusing and have anxiety and OCD. This app relaxes me and makes me calm. As an artist, this app has shown me how much I enjoy art and has fueled a new desire for me to paint. I can’t stress enough how helpful this app is for those who get stressed frequently. This app is always my go to when I need to take a break. This app has also helped me so much with patience. I’ve never been an impatient person, but this app has truly changed my perspective. I do yoga once a week, and always have trouble with the meditation aspect, but this app has helped me stay focused on the task. A few months ago, I wouldn’t be able to write a long review like this one. Ever since I downloaded April Coloring, I feel more self confident and accepting. I highly recommend this app to everyone, regardless of emotional stability.

Great but needs landscape mode. This is the first coloring app that I’ve actually kept on my iPad and used consistently. It honestly helps me to stay focused and listen more attentively in long Zoom meetings. Pros include 1) “natural” mechanics that make it feel a bit more like actually coloring 2) a good selection of pictures that are interesting to adults 3) excellent representation of different cultures/skin colors and 4) good support for the Apple pencil. My only gripe? There is apparently no support for landscape mode. Given that many of the pictures are wider than tall, this means that it is virtually impossible to get more than a portion of the picture in your screen without snapping out to the whole picture (where you can’t see the numbers) or too far in (where you can’t really tell what you’re actually coloring). Consequently, you have to spend an annoying amount of time panning around and carefully zooming in and out to try to find the numbers you want. Aggravating. Fortunately, this is my only complaint thus far about a truly pleasant app experience.

Amazing!. Alright, there is really a lot to say about this app. First,33 I think the swipe instead of tap idea is super creative! It's really satisfying, and it makes it feel as though i'm actually coloring it in. It does make my wrist hurt a little, but that may just be because I'm exhausted right now. It's a really relaxing app! I'm in a bit of a bad place right now, and I just needed something to soothe me and help me chill out. This app was perfect! It's easy on the eyes, the color palettes are beautiful, and it's so easy to use while laying down. Now for the sole reason I downloaded this app. Most coloring games have really small spaces that are hard to find, and I would have to watch an ad in order to find it. I'm so glad this app doesn't do that. Most of the areas are easy to find, and if I can't find it, I don't have to watch an ad for it to show me where it is. This app is great, and I really wouldn't change anything about it. My one suggestion though is to give a clear indication when a color has been used. A little problem I run into is that I will have finished with a color entirely, but I'm still searching because I haven't realized. So in that case, it would be nice if there was a small animation or vibration to tell me that i'm done using a color. Other than that one suggestion, this is a definite five stars!

Went through level 6 before I had to buy something. But, I’m not going. Which means after I finish this review, I’m going to delete the app. It’s fine for what it is. Since I don’t have an Apple Pencil, I don’t know how well it works with that, but for “finger painting”, it’s okay. My biggest frustration was having the app switch color selections while I was trying to move to another area. Once more is filled in, this diminishes significantly. The other big frustration was trying to not have the picture move, while trying to fill in tiny areas. If there was a method to reliably freeze the picture location while filling in colors, I didn’t find it. For a free while it lasted app, it was okay. Not certain that it was that calming, given the frustrations I listed above, but it was a terrific time waster.

Amazing app, but one major flaw. Again, very lovely and amazing app! I spend hours on it. It’s just that there are sooooo many galleries! And, since there’s something for everyone, there’s also galleries that you’re never going to touch. The amount of scrolling can get very annoying, and I just wish you could at least bookmark specific galleries to access them faster. Like even for me, lately I’ve been super into all the food themed paintings. It’s annoying having to scroll through Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, Gamers etc.. to get to a food themed gallery. So maybe just some way to organize the galleries, like a search bar or filter. Or even just being able to bookmark them to a library would be awesome!

Addicting - The App I’ve Been Waiting For. I had been looking for a digital “coloring book” (for adults) for a long time. And not one of those tap to color an entire section apps. So long, in fact, I gave up. Then I saw an ad for April. This is exactly what I was looking for! I love that you swipe to color, it gives the app the feel of a real coloring book. It’s a bonus that not too many galleries are locked behind a paywall. I also don’t mind watching ads for coins to buy pictures. I only wish there was an option to hide completed galleries. Or different tabs for completed and uncompleted galleries. Sometimes I skip around between galleries and it can be a pain to weed through what I have and haven’t finished yet. Even still, this game gets 5 stars from me!

Excellent app with excellent diversity. Okay I usually don’t write reviews but this app is great. First of all, it’s the first one I found where you actually make the motions of painting instead of just tap to fill and if there are any bugs I haven’t noticed them. Second of all, I like how you can use coins to get the premium stuff at the end of a pack, and how a good 70% of the app is usable without it. I’ve seen so many where a subscription is absolutely necessary to get anything out of an app. Last but not least, DIVERSITY!!! Seriously, this is the first app I’ve seen to feature so many women of color. Usually you get mainly white women with the occasional black woman, but there are all races featured in this app. In fact most of the women ive seen aren’t white, or at least clearly white. I’ve even seen a few men, which you usually don’t see in these kinds of apps. I really appreciate that this app displays the beauty of all colors instead of just white people, because too many of these kinds of apps don’t. The only improvement I could think of would be an option to choose different pallets, especially for the landscapes. Like there’s one where it’s a mountain range primarily in shades of pink, and as pretty as it is I’d like so see it in blues or greens, but that’s honestly just nitpicking. All in all, fantastic app, completely recommend!

Color motion. I like the app for the most part but it has some things I would like to change or see improved. It was hard to find an app that actually lets you “color” the sections rather than tap and fill it in. This app lets you “color” but once you fill the section 80%ish of the way it fills in the rest. I kinda wish it wouldn’t do that, this is what I’m looking to do after all and I don’t want the help. Also, it really wants you to get the free trial and pay them, eventually, for more pictures to color. It has what looks like a coin system (I’ve been getting coins for completing parts of the pictures) so why can’t I use those coins or points to purchase more pictures? I have to wait for one to become available, usually when a timer is up, or I have to color a picture I’m not interested in coloring for another to be available, and even that one I usually don’t want to color. I don’t get to pick the pictures I want to color, it’s a “take it or leave it” situation. So I give this app a 2 star rating because I think it’s pretty controlling on the app developer side on what I can/cannot do, but I like that I can “color” the pictures.

Relaxing and Therapeutic. This is one of the better colour by number apps on the appstore, and it’s obvious why. The pictures are very neat and satisfying to finish and the art style is very cute. It helps me relieve stress and anxiety to colour in all the parts of the picture. The only complaint I have is that you don’t get any coins when you level up, which is why I gave the app only four stars. You can do pretty much everything the app features without premium subscription if you don’t mind a bit of hard work, patience, and ad viewing. It is a bit frustrating when you need to constantly redo old photos because you need to earn coins to unlock new ones, so that’s the only thing I’d change. Include awarded coins when you level up. Otherwise a great app!

i LOVE this app!!!. This is one of the only apps that truly helps with my anxiety, i can get lost in these paintings for hours, i’ll paint while listening to a podcast or watching tv and it always helps calm my nerves. The best part about it is the swipe motion instead of tapping, i’ve searched countless times for other apps like this yet there are none to be found. April coloring is truly one of a kind, and i haven’t gone a day without it in months. Unfortunately I might be a bit too dependent on it, haha! But it goes to show how well this app is made, and i’ve loved it for years. However, i do wish there were more packs that can be painted and finished completely without having to spend coins, but nonetheless I understand why it is why it is. Love this app!! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

Great App. I love this app. I’ve tried almost every coloring app out there and this is the only one I keep coming back to. I love that you can unlock new paintings and gallery’s with coins so most of the images are available without a subscription, and the way that it paints instead of fills is very satisfying. The pictures are all very beautiful as well. The one small thing I don’t like is that during painting the small circle that pops up to watch ads for coins comes up frequently and is a bit annoying when I’m trying to color. If they can put that at the top with the other information such as currently accrued coins that would be better for the interface in my opinion. That is the only thing I don’t like though, this app is amazing.

Excellent app, but.... I love this app. It’s beautiful, it’s calming, and you don’t need the premium version to have a good experience. I also love how we color in spaces as if we are actually painting, as opposed to tapping and voila! The space colored! However, I have a big grievance to state. For me, the application has been crashing, and the progress on a picture I was working on was not saved. Please work on this. It’s sad for me to experience crashing because this app has insane amounts of potential! If it weren’t for the crashing, this app is hands down five stars. Thanks! Update: I’ve gotten a rapid response from the developers, which is amazing how they give advice when a user has a problem, and the recommendation has helped! Thank you so much!

Fun app, but GREAT customer service. In search of some new zenful art apps I downloaded this app yesterday, but was immediately frustrated by the fact my Apple Pencil didn’t work. While the app worked okay with my finger, there are some very fine details in the pictures that are a bit clunky with a finger, and I prefer to use my pencil with art apps anyway. I wrote to the company and within MINUTES I got a response, very kindly apologizing for the problem and asking for some more information, which I was able to provide. Today, not 24 hours later, they’ve rolled out an update that fixes the problem! They also followed up to make sure it worked for me! I’m so impressed! The app itself is well designed and easy to use, and the images are beautiful. I like coloring apps where you have your own choice of color, but sometimes I need the slightly more meditative experience of a paint by number, and this perfectly fits the bill. Also, now that the app is updated, my Apple Pencil works very well!

My favorite coloring app. I remember looking for a good coloring app for a while, and then I came across April. It’s the best one I’ve found. You can color from each album, unlocking a new album as you level up. Each coloring either requires premium, or you can also collect coins and use those to buy each coloring in an album. Daily colorings require watching an ad, which I actually appreciate as it’s a free way of getting a coloring. I’d say the only complaint I have is the ads that pop up when you start coloring a picture, or if you leave the app and come back while coloring. But other than that, awesome app!

One of my favorite apps!. First of all, I absolutely love this app. I’ve spent countless hours coloring. I would definitely recommend it (and I have!) One common issue I’ve had is that it causes my phone to lag and drains the battery very quickly. This can be frustrating because it is difficult to color when I swipe to color a section, it lags, and suddenly I’ve accidentally moved across the screen and selected a different section/color. One possible feature could be to have several different “brush” sizes. For the larger sections this could make it easier to color without missing small sections.

Great! ❤️. This game is very calming, The premium doesn’t have ridiculous features, so you don’t HAVE to buy it for the game to work and everything works well. The controls are easy to figure out, and it’s nice how you actually get to color it in, instead of like in other apps where you just tap and the whole section is colored. Basically for me this game is incredible and worth it. Some other reviews say there are too many ads. I don’t understand this because it is a free game so of course there are gonna be some ads. And also, even if it feels like they are excessive ads, that’s not the case for every picture. Also, even if that were true, the game balances out that anyway. I like how the pictures that would normally just be premium you can actually buy with the in game coins. I love how there are so many different galleries to choose from and the pictures are very well chosen. Another thing that I like is how they make the pictures look like real life when you finish coloring them, instead of cartoons. The only thing I would like is maybe a little percentage thing around each of the colors like the circle for the total percentage done. I saw that suggestion in another comment, and I think it’s a good idea.

Great app. I am really enjoying this app, and I even bought the annual subscription. Thanks, too, for responding to comments! I took advantage of the discounted price, as the $99 felt too steep. There isn’t a lot by way of instructions so I have some questions. I’ve been collecting stars but I’m not sure to what end. After level 1 my stars disappeared and I started over at level 2. I thought maybe I could use my stars to unlock another level before reaching it but that didn’t work. So do I have to pay more dollars to open a level that’s out of order? Also, I occasionally like to uninstall an app to delete data. I know I can restore my purchase, but will I have to start at level 1 again? Thanx!

Why make it a free game?. The creators made the game free just to trick you. Right when you open the app, it asks you to buy premium. Which is a 10 dollar a month subscription. Just to be able to get all the painting right off the bat. If you don’t do premium, you are forced to do the paintings in order, want to do a pretty dessert first? Too bad, you need to do pink flowers. And even after you do a painting, you need to wait 2 hours to do the next one. But you can go to the next one instantly if you buy premium! Stupid. Have fun emptying your bank account for something digitally when you can go out and buy paint, paintbrushes, and canvases for a longer project that you can display on your walls. And you don’t need to spend 10 dollars a month for a 3 minute project. Or wait 2 hours to make another painting. And you can make any painting you can think of, instead of being limited to a few weird blocky drawings you might not even want to paint. And the paint and paintbrushes will last longer. And that stuff isn’t that expensive and you could probably buy it all at a dollar store for decent enough quality. Anyway, I hope you now have changed your mind about wasting your time and money.

Great app except... April 12th 2020. Just b patient I came across this app today and read some of the reviews and found all to a positive reviews...so I downloaded it, I like the concept of it but I am having a very big problem with it...first I have to enlarge the picture so I can see the numbers, that in its self is not the problem, when I go to start to color the pitcher it started moving around and won’t stay put...I tried ever thing but no matter how light or hard I touch the screen it moves...after awhile it gets to be very annoying and it makes me want to stop coloring...I love to color so with this problem I find myself thinking to go look for a different app...I will wait to see if there is any thing that can be done before I go searching for another app...

Amazing!. Back to this game after a long time, and it is still great as ever! I remember back when I was a beta tester for this app, and it has hardly changed. The app is simple and unique, and not pay-to-play. For the longest time, I was looking for an app where you didn’t tap to color things in, but rather do it yourself. I was so excited to try other apps but none left me as satisfied as this. When I had first found the app, I was on Google Play, and I had the option to beta test the app, so I did. It was single-handedly the best color by number app experience i’ve ever had. Fast-forward to today, and i’m glad to see dark mode is a thing now, and that it still isn’t a pay-to-play style game. Thank you devs for making such a relaxing, well thought, simplistic, and unique color by number app. (idk how to write things and keep topic, that’s why it’s a mess XD)

I love April coloring!. I have had this app for at least two years if not longer and I use it every day, it helps me relax my mind, I can just veg out and color. I love that I can use it without having to pay and I’m happy to watch the ads to get some coins to unlock other coloring pages. My favorite features are the the daily free coloring page and not only the swiping to color but being able to just tap the next blank spot to color rather than switching colors manually is awesome and makes it so easy to just zone out and color a whole page. April coloring is by far my favorite app, I really love it, I even follow their page on Facebook! Thank you to the developers and if you haven’t, you need to try April coloring!

It’s ok. So when you see that this is the app of the day you think it’s great and then read reviews most people really like it but that’s because they have the premium and I’m a kid and I don’t have a lot of money and my parents don’t pay for stuff I want so when I’m going to relax I’m not allowed to even do the daily picture!!! There’s probably even more stuff because I just got it but let me tell you the good stuff So I’ve never seen a color by number pile this so normally you just tap and that color cel is full but no this time when you tap the color cel you have a paintbrush and your getting the feeling that your actually painting. And that’s pretty much everything good to say but back to the bad stuff So when your coloring when you leave the app and come back let’s say someone calls you and you answer them when you come back you have to watch a whole bunch of ads for it to save your progress. Well since I just got it I don’t know all the things but thanks for reading this long review and I really want the developer to respond and can you put it do that you can see your finished work with the unfinished work and can you add less ads a cheaper premium like $2 a year or something and can you do challenges and last less things that need the premium thanks They responded quickly and now I know what to do

Fun but too many ads. I do enjoy the coloring, in that it does actually let you color in the spaces, not just touch to fill the area with color. As I am on a budget I have not paid for a subscription. As you complete more pictures you level up to open more galleries. However, it will only let you color in a few pictures within the gallery before requiring you spend coins you earn by interrupting the coloring process to watch an ad. Sometimes you only have access to 2 of 10 pictures before the rest are locked. You then use the coins to open one picture at a time. After spending the earned coins to open a picture you then also have to watch an ad! What? I just paid my 50 coins and now I have to watch an ad too? There is also a daily picture in which in which you watch an ad to open, that’s fair, but then after the picture is open, you touch and another ad pops up! I thought I already watched the ad to open it, why does another one pop up?! The ads are popping up too often, I may not keep this app. Edit, so many pro trump ads, what’s that about? It’s very off putting.

Don’t Waste Your Time. Where do I start? There are way too many ads. When you open the app, when you click on a picture to color, if you answer a text and come back, once you finish a picture, and just to get to the daily picture you have to watch an ad. When coloring you can’t move too fast otherwise it won’t track your finger. You can only have access to a select few categories of pictures to color and then you can’t even color all pictures in that category (starting out with 6 but quickly goes down as you level up and unlock more categories) unless you buy the premium feature. I can’t color a picture without the app crashing every two minutes which then requires me to watch multiple ads just to get back to the picture only to find out that my progress was not saved. I finally got sick of it and deleted the app. Stay away and find a better app to use.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I usually don’t write reviews but for this awesome app I absolutely have to. I usually dislike coloring apps but this one is just so special. It is so relaxing and the pictures are absolutely fantastic. I don’t usually like people pictures but the people in this app are amazing. I wish a few more things were free but I can buy them with the coins the app gives me so no problem. But the app doesn’t let you choose the picture you want to color. First you have to color other pictures before you can color the one you want. I wish we could just color the pic we want but either than that the app is great. Absolutely love and definitely recommend for people who aren’t really sure wether to get the app or not.

Missing key feature. Nice app, very fun to do. Two things that I do not like about this app is that it takes FOREVER TO gain a new level, there are sections that will not open at all until you reach a certain level, no matter if you are paying for this app or not, it’s not happening. I feel that is not fair and there should be an option for that or make it possible to reach those levels, you literally will have to color all day long for several days to reach a new level, it’s taken me two weeks just to get to level 2😩😩...ridiculous. Also, it would be nice to have a separate tab that shows all the ones you’ve completed in one location, instead of having them all over the gallery. This is why I take away two stars, too hard to level up and no organization. Other than that it’s a nice way to pass some time, the pictures are beautiful and easy to do.

Love brush strokes, but not the in picture color changes. The pictures in this set are outstanding. What distinguishes it from most other paint -by-number type apps is the brush stroke method, allowing one to shade large areas of color without a lot of tedious, finger aching tapping. That’s the good side. The one big negative is that the app will switch to a different color if one goes “outside the lines.” This can get annoying when one is working in an area in which many small areas of different colors are close together, especially if you happen to be someone who prefers to color the picture in by sequential color numbers as opposed to by completing objects or areas with several different numbers, e.g., an animal or flower (object) or grass, sky or ocean (area). A possible fix could be to make it so the color being indicated in the picture only switches when one pushes a different number on the color list but not when one touches a different number in the picture itself.

Memories. PS: is it possible to please have a setting for either landscape or portrait. and you can never have enough cats 😁 It brings me back to the days when my mom used to buy these colour by numbers books just for me and developed the love of art in me. I am 60 so it’s strange what makes you remember your childhood. I don’t kid myself that i am a good artist. So colouring by numbers somehow fulfills some part in me i guess. I check the app store every few months or so to search for colour by numbers and i am so glad i found this. I have tried other art apps but you have to know what you want to draw and paint and other colour by numbers are just too childish. It was trial and error but i realised to earn the coins I had to tap it to collect it - missed quite a few and to watch the videos too. And that I could find the tiny hard to find numbers by tapping on the number i am colouring. LOL. You don’t seem to have a guide on these things or a FAQ. The coins and the daily art are a godsend as i am on a tight budget and not having to pay for premium helps. Thank you for this app.

Really nice experience but it has a couple flaws. The graphics are nice. Probably one of the better color by number apps when it comes to the artwork and the process of filling in the spaces but it’s just so covered in ads. Whenever you go to download a gallery or a pack, there’s an ad. Whenever you go to download a singular picture, there’s an ad. But there’s another problem that I’ve been having that’s kinda been annoying. Sometimes after I’ve let the picture download and sat through the ad, as soon as the picture pops up on the screen the app closes. I’ve tried a couple times going back into the app and picking the same picture but it keeps crashing. Other than these inconveniences it’s pretty good.

Enjoyable app but too costly. I did enjoy using the app and paid for a three month subscription. However I am disappointed that subscription did not unlock all or even most of the puzzles. Even after subscribing you have to earn a pretty high number of coins to get to the next level to unlock more puzzles. It would take a long period of time work to level 200 so that I could access all the puzzles. Or I could purchase coins. Even with the free version you have to watch the ads twice to access puzzles you’ve already started on. I’m not deleting this app yet but I am looking for something more reasonably priced. Follow up: The developers did respond to my posting which I appreciate. I still stand by my position that the subscription should allow you access to all the puzzles. I’m actually enjoying the app more now that I don’t have the subscription. I can watch ads, earn coins, and purchase whatever puzzle pack I want

Update to five stars. Update to my below review: first, thank you to the developer for responding so fast. I did as suggested and removed the app and reinstalled it. Hallelujah! It works like it did originally and I’m once again totally addicted. This is the best coloring app out there! I love the feeling of actually coloring and I can color for HOURS. I do still want more pictures to come out each week, but I can be patient 😉 When I first started on this app I became addicted! I couldn’t stop coloring. I got through every available picture and even started re-coloring. BUT... the app has been super laggy, not responding after several attempts on one section, and sometimes it will randomly jump to another section. When I try to move it back, it doesn’t respond. Also, new galleries only come out once a week and the number of new pictures varies. This week only one gallery is released (10 pictures). For the subscription price, all of these issues makes it not worth it. Oh and I do use the Apple Pencil and still have these issues.

Love the app. I love the variety of what we can color, even without having to get the subscription. One problem I have though: whenever I accidentally tap on a bottom corner of a picture instead of one of the color numbers, an ad pops up. Whenever I lock my phone with the app still open, and then I unlock my phone, an ad pops up. Whenever I swipe up like I’m going to close the app (even accidentally), but end up keeping it open, I see an app. That gets annoying especially when I do that while trying to swipe for a color. If I get a call while coloring, an add pops up when I see the app after the call ends. Essentially, whenever something interrupts my coloring prompts an ad, though sometimes an ad just pops up when all I’m doing is coloring. I don’t mind ads when I open a picture or finish one, for example, but all these other little instances of an add popping up is really annoying.

Great job but needs changes. I really love this game but it really needs changes so I have finished coloring some pictures then I saw this👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏻‍♂️ marriage picture and it was gross so I was like I’m definitely about to delete this game and I didn’t really like it at all so I was about to delete it but then I saw a better game and I downloaded it so saying the merge picture looks gross so I got this pop-up that said write the game and I really did it five stars and then I was like write a review and I was like OK and I wanted to write all of this and I don’t know about you but do you like it? Love the app-but landscape mode and family sharing!. I have been a full subscriber for a year or two and I love the app. It has been fun to watch the art progress from simple images to what they are now. (although I wish some were simple and mindless still!). With my new IPad Pro, I am loving the big screen and coloring, but I do wish that landscape mode was supported. I find myself just coloring it sideways as the iPad is in my propped up case. I also wish there was a way for family sharing so I could share this amazing app with my family. $60 is a lot of money and I feel that being able to share it with at least one other person would be fair. Thanks again for your amazing app!

Like the coloring - lots of ads - Update. I like the coloring and how they look when finished. There is a lot of ads, every time you pause or leave the screen. And, I really don’t like the political ads showing up lately. I don’t mind ads for games, that’s what I’d expect to see. But I don’t think games is a place to have political ads running. I don’t like to pay for games with a subscription. I’d rather pay up front and be done with it. I’ll pay for a good app. I manage to get enough coins to buy galleries I like. - -Update 8/18- I did get a response from the developers. They told me how to manage the targeted ads you see. Since I’ve changed the ad preferences, no more political ads. Their quick response is much appreciated!

Download if you love adds. The app doesn't function without WiFi so if you're looking for something to do offline, don't bother. You have to wait for each section to load, then wait for the actual drawing to load, then watch an ad to get started. If you leave the app then come back to the drawing you have partially done, you have another ad. If you watch the video to do the daily drawing, you have to watch the video and then another ad to open it up. Once you finish a drawing, another ad to see the finished product. Also, the drawings aren't as complicated as they look. They have lots of blocks to fill but a lot of the adjoining blocks are the same color. It's like they took a nice, complicated drawing and then cut the colors by half. This makes it a lot less detailed. Overall meh for me, maybe good for an 8 year old.

Awesome!. I was having problems with the app crashing, but this new update fixed that!!!! Restarted my membership because this really is the best “coloring” app out there. I do have a suggestion for the next update. I know it can be done but not sure how, that’s why y’all get paid for this stuff. I use to have a jigsaw puzzle app that we were able to (as paid member) upload our pictures to the app and it made them into puzzles. What about the same concept but in “coloring” of either our choice, or generated based on the colors in our pictures. I would actually pay a little more for this ability. Again, thank you for the update and no more crashing app when finished with a picture. ☺️☺️☺️

Love, love, love, But...... I absolutely love your pictures, there is so much diversity and so many end up looking like an actual photograph! But one thing I truly miss is sharing the art with others showing the painting as it progresses from start to end. I have other apps that do that. My friends love to see how I progress thru the painting. Such as a bouquet of flowers I will complete each flower before going on to the next. Mountain ranges, I will do each mountain completely before the next, then the water, then the sky. They can’t see that progress like they do in my other apps Please include this feature! I never share these pictures because the fun of them seeing how I do it isn’t there. They never remark on your pictures unlike I always get comments on the other apps. Please, please, please add this feature!

Boy and Best Friend ( golden retriever). I have been a loyal fan of April Coloring for a total of 5 years now. I like this site the best because the pictures are so lifelike and colors are spectacular. When my devices have been down or have needed to be replaced I literally go through withdrawal until I can get set up again. This has presented a problem for me because between device replacements and failures I have lost so many points it is so sad. I know I have painted and completed well over 300 pictures. I would love to get the credit for these so I have a better choice of art to paint. Not too long ago I was forced to move from another state due to a divorce that nearly crushed me. If it hadn’t been for my April coloring I think I would have had a complete breakdown! When they say that coloring and painting are great for relaxing, that’s an understatement!!! I had a vast gallery saved up on my iPad until a virus got into it and destroyed everything I had. I really DID cry…….. Can anyone suggest how I might regain my edge in the points department?????? 💖Happy Coloring💗💕💘💜💛💝

More reward…. I love this painting app. I’ve had several but I didn’t want a stupid tap coloring app. The fact that this is a swipe app sold me!! I have been a subscriber for years. That being said I love the new categories you have been releasing lately. I only wish I was at a higher level to get them. I’m level 75 or 6. It’s going to take years to get to level 300 where these new categories are! When I saw the new ones I decided to paint all day. I’m bedbound, so I have a lot of time. Even after painting all day, about 8 pictures I had only gone up 3 levels. So my request is can it be changed so the players can earn experience points at a faster rate or can it be that subscribers earn some coin per painting. Subscribers already pay for premium pictures (which are fabulous), but they have to pay for coins too. If you could do that then this so would be the absolute best painting ap available!

Great fun ruined by crashes due to ads. The coloring aspect of this app is a lot of fun and there is a lot of content. However, the app crashes about 50% of the time when opening or changing apps or trying to look at a picture because it tries to open an ad with a bug or opens an ad where none of the buttons (even to open the advertisement) work. I have a brand new iPad Pro that’s up to date. I’d remove ads but the only payment option available is $15 per month subscription. I don’t need all other content right now while I’m just trying out the app so it would be nice to have a no ads only option. I don’t see any other way to make the app not crash and be a huge hassle to open.

Great concept, but limited.. I love the real feel to the coloring, and the app is tons of fun! Just two recommendations for less frustrating fun. First, the app would be a lot better if the screen would rotate to allow you to view the coloring pages in landscape mode. In portrait mode you cannot see the entire image at once. You only see the small area you are actively coloring. PLEASE, PLEASE give this app the option of rotating to landscape mode so you can see the whole image while coloring. Second, the galleries you have to choose from are not really galleries at all. The “summer” gallery has everything from animals and landscapes to people. I don’t like coloring certain types of pictures, such as people, yet you can’t go past it without coloring them all. I’d rather have the ability to buy the pages using the coins you randomly earn. I wouldn’t even mind a flat fee purchase price in the beginning for the app, but the monthly fees are much too high for something like this. I get monthly video streaming services for less!

Updates ruined a very good app. When I subscribed to this app I did it for a full year with full confidence that I would enjoy it as much at the end of the subscription as I did when I started but one day there was a new look and with it came a severe decline in availability of pictures I could color. I use to be able to get pictures based on points (750 point) and you you got a new 10 to 12 pack of pictures, now that feature is gone. I use to be able to buy and use “ coins” to buy packs of pictures, that feature is gone. Now every 7 days you get 20 pictures to color, I can do that in 2 days. I got this app as part of therapy to work on my wrist after a fall crushed the bones that required reconstruction surgery. The coloring helps gain and maintain flexibility so what you have done is killed my therapy! I will be canceling this app at the end of the year because you will not refund my money for the remainder of the year, this is, in effect, a bate and switch and it is a horrible thing to do to a person on disability!

Back to being my favorite app!. After a few days of ads playing April Coloring went from being my favorite app to frustrating. But now the ads are no longer playing, so… Hooray!! The Developer was also quick to respond & assist so my gratitude for their being helpful & for creating beautiful apps like April Coloring & April Jigsaw by Number continues to grow. I’d love to give 5+++ stars if I could. Thank you so much!!! Wish I knew what went wrong for a few days… maybe a security hiccup? But I’m upgraded to iOS 17 & all is working well. BTW—April Jigsaw never had ads appear …just April Coloring. I’ve been a subscribed user for a few years now so I’m happy & relieved all is running smoothly again!

Amazing Game. This game is one of the best color by number apps I’ve ever downloaded. It’s what I’ve always wanted in the sense that you swipe to color instead of tapping. You can also tap on a section to switch to the color that section is supposed to be colored, which is really handy. The pictures are also always absolutely beautiful. The only thing I don’t really like is how long it takes to level up. It takes 650 xp to level up, and you only get 50 xp per finished picture. That wouldn’t be too much of a problem I guess, except for the fact that I once saw a picture you had to be level 205 to color. I also wish you could get coins a little easier Overall it’s one of the best coloring apps out there either way, and it’s not littered with ads like a lot of games are now.

Game won’t open. Since the last update a couple of days ago I can no longer open the app

Well. U see I am very happy with the way this game turned out but there is just one thing that I don’t really think the levels are fair like 630 stars it’s ridiculous and I only get like 50 stars per painting and it’s fun but really hard to earn paintings and all cause u need to unlock levels to earn paintings or u do them over again but when that happens it’s BORING! And also why is there paintings that say if u want this painting follow up on FACEBOOK? FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK??. I DON'T EVEN HAVE FACEBOOK!! Really? But anyway I enjoys this app soo much but when I enter the game I can’t really get in it takes a bit like 5 mins but I’m really happy with this game and all and yeah. Bye 😉

Great app but subscription too expensive. This is a great app. The interface is tactile and the swiping action to colour in feels very artistic. There’s a good range of images to choose from. The automatically choosing the correct colour feature can be a little annoying, swapping colours when you don’t actually want to and the zoom in to colour feature on double tap is clever. So why don’t I give it 5 stars? Because with a subscription price as high as April Coloring is asking, you would assume all content would be unlocked, wouldn’t you? But it’s not. This leaves you with two options: colour in until you reach the required “level” to unlock your album of choice, or spend even more actual money to buy that new album (without any form of preview, by the way, hope you like what’s in it) You can have it one way or the other, April Coloring. Either subscribe and receive all content, or buy as you go, not both.

Addiction. Love this app especially at this time, It’s soo addictive and fun plus the pictures are beautiful if only I could upload my own picture and colour them. But I recommend this app.

Come back when you have a landscape mode. Was very excited about this game but it is severely limited by only working in portrait mode, which means I quickly get tired of holding my iPad up to use it. Will delete it until landscape mode is available

Best Oil Painting App. Simply put 1000+ pics great mechanics just like colouring for real. Advance and unlock more galleries, so many galleries, and earn coins (yes via adds for non premium players) to unlock higher level galleries. Daily pictures, new galleries every week, download to color offline. I have used many colour by numbers apps but this one I Keep coming back to, easy to use and beautiful pictures, a must have app!

Good app. This is an amazing colouring app but after a while of using it,it started lagging out and it wouldn’t let me do anything but putting that aside it is one of the best colouring apps I have ever used,if you fix that laying thing I will be able to give you a 5 star rating.

Crashes 90% of the time. April is one of the prettiest and enjoyable colouring apps I’ve ever used. I love it. BUT it continuously crashes 90% of the time when trying to download and open new pictures to colour. There’s no point paying for Premium if you cannot open the pictures. It is so disappointing that you can’t open new pictures as you level up. I’d give it 5 stars if it didn’t crash but because I can’t access what I want to colour I give it only 1 star. Please fix the bugs.

A Bit of Advice 5 stars. I do a lot of colouring apps and I do them off line. To do this you Colour part of the picture and it will save automatically. It depends on what iOS you have and how old your device is as before I got the iPad I have now there was no way I could save colouring app. I suffer from nerves anxiety which I can not explain why here but colouring apps are great when I feel something isn’t right with me. I love colouring apps and was started with the books that I still have but then I found the colouring apps on my game store app so downloaded one then found more and I don’t pay any money for subscription as I’m unable to afford it and anyway I get enough from each colouring app games to keep me busy. Sorry if I was sounding like I was preaching and sorry this is so long but I also only have one hand so these apps are great. I hope this is a help.

Best colouring app EVER!. I am just obsessed with this app and use it daily to unwind. I love it!!!! One thing, can you create a section for completed galleries so when you have completed them, you don’t have to scroll through them to get to the ones that haven’t been finished.

Great app but some changes needed. Love this game but the subscription thing on most of the pictures (like that you can buy with in game coin) and the constant ads when i so much as check a message or the time is constantly annoying. Love the swiping instead of tapping though and that tapping a colour automatically goes to the next part to colour. The sudden moves of the screen sometimes is annoying but manageable. To sum up, an enjoyable game but with some fixes needed.

Ideas of mine. I love this app a good exercise for art and craft lovers, helps with focus and patience. A great way to get creative inspiration. Also some steampunk,gothic,mythical creatures and folklore/fairytales themes would be cool, and more cats.

Best colouring app in the AppStore. This is a great way to relax and unwind, listening to a podcast or a good audio book. This app is perfect for the iPad. Beautiful galleries to colour & the Apple Pencil really enhances the experience. My only criticism after being a subscriber for over year, would be to have a wider colour palette maybe metallics & textured effects. It’s my favourite app, and without a doubt the best colouring app in the AppStore.

Brilliant!. I have really bad anxiety and this game helps me cope with it so much. I would just take up my phone and start colouring when I am on break, on the train or just after a long day at work. So calming and soothing. Keep releasing new content!

Disappointing (no longer). I was really enjoying this app, even subscribed to it. Since updating latest version I can no longer colour in with my Apple Pencil2 and it’s very annoying. There’s no issue with the pencil itself because I’ve used it on other free colouring apps I have. I hope this issue will be resolved quickly, otherwise I’ll have to unsubscribe and delete. Thank you for the response and quick fix. Now I can continue to enjoy it and give it the 5 stars it deserves.

Great app but... I’ve been using the app for at least 7 months or so now and it’s been amazing. But lately it is doing this thing where when I am colouring it just freezes. I can’t colour, move around the picture or go back to the selection of pictures. This is extremely annoying and making me question if it is even worth continuing the subscription with them. If there could be some fix for this ASAP that would be greatly appreciated!

The game just keeps on crashing and doesn’t save. Most of the time my game keeps on crashing and the first three little colour’d in parts don’t even save and sometimes it happens 50% finished I have done a review last year with the same problems with make me frustrated and I just want to throw my phone because I can’t even colour in probably please get this fixed or I’m going to uninstall but might regret it in the future as I’m nearly up too level 34 and I don’t look forward to the long wait and time to get back to that level if these bugs are fixed (I got asked what phone I was using and I’m suing a iPhone 6 fully update) And didn’t act on as the problem was still there. But I do absolutely love this game when it works like 4 to 5 percent of the time ,out of all of the colouring games I only manly use two this one and paint by numbers which is a bit better because there is more cool pages and a lot more free pages which you don’t have to wait an hour to start another one and can get the days that you missed for free.

Very disappointed. I used to spend hours a day on this app. Now l spend minutes because of these issues. Latest update and there is a delay when touching screen to colour actually colouring and the screen skips to different colours all the time. It sticks over spaces you are trying to colour.sometimes you have to go over and over space before colour appears.I have sent requests and sent screen recording of the problem but nothing has changed. I won’t be renewing my subscription. Such a pity.

So very relaxing. When stressed I am colouring in more, no stressed days between. It is good that it is not a physical colouring as I would have to store them somewhere.

Unable to claim daily picture. As at this week, there is something wrong with app. I’m unable to claim the daily picture as it takes you to the ad, but then nothing happens. Likewise I’m not able to collect gold coins either, as same thing happens with the ads.

Not a good app to get. Firstly when you start you have like two pictures to paint then you need to buy coins to unlock the other pictures Secondly even if you do find a section that you don’t need coins to unlock it will be premium which is expensive so you can’t really do art I suggest you don’t get this app if you do want a good colouring app with swipes I suggest Colorswipes though it is not oil paint is is a good app to colour with I will be deleting April Coloring

Wheres the app options?. Only gave 2 stars ⭐️ cause why on earth would a art app not have a landscape option? This should be at the very least a basic function, specially on a ipad. In fact the spot that has setting in your app only has options go spend money & nothing else, now you certainly want people to spend but dont even have a landscape option. You go check ipad cases, what position are they mostly designed to use? Ahh yeah landscape 💡 Anyway i will give this app a couple weeks to see if they do an improvement before I delete it, who knows they might surprise me 😂

Relaxing and Focusing. I use this app to relax when stressed and to help focus when listening to something. I have a feature request, I often paint in patterns, can you add a setting to slow down the final image reveal so we can enjoy the patterned fill in more? It is way to fast as is now

Super expensive. One of my favourite apps, especially for helping with anxiety, etc. but I’m sure I’m not the only one that simply just can’t afford the price, I’ve done most of the free pages and am on the verge of having nothing to do on the app unfortunately. Make it a one time payment of around $30 and I’m sure many, many people would be satisfied with that.

Attention: Support. Hi! First of all, I love your app, it’s been a mind saver during the pandemic! That being said, a couple of updates ago I have had trouble opening some of the daily colorings without the app kicking me out. But now I can’t open that tab at all without being kicked out! I don’t have any problems with the galleries right now. Is it just me or has something changed?

IN LOVE. About a week ago, I got April colouring and I love it so much! It is so relaxing, especially when listening to music of your choice. You can pay a monthly subscription, but it you don’t, you just have to buy the premiere work with money you earn from making other art. Super well designed, thank you!

Swipe not tap? I think not.. I thought you would actually be able to colour in the sections yourself but the app fills the colour in large blocks for you. Smaller sections fill completely as soon as the stylist touches the area. It’s also wildly overpriced for stock images converted to lower quality and made to be coloured in. The monthly subscription costs almost the same amount as most streaming services and has much less content. Give your heads a shake.

Love it. I love this app. As others have said it is great when paper and pencil are not convenient. It isn’t the game itself but since the last update it keeps crashing and at times it won’t even open. I don’t want to miss out on my daily picture because of this.

Too expensive. No one in their right mind should pay so much for colouring pages. There are too many ads and not enough free pictures. Really unfortunate for a good game.

Pass. 1. Too expensive. The appropriate price should be one time purchase $0.99. 2. Dosent let you colour how you want to. You have to follow their patterns and numbers. What is the point?

Relaxing. This type of “game” usually isn’t my thing, but I’ve been quite enjoying this one! It’s nice to not have to think and just fill in colours to bring a photo to life. One thing that would be great to have would be some subtle sound effects, and perhaps some calming music, with individual controls / toggles for each. In its current state, it feels kind of disconnected to see stuff happening on the screen, but have no sound feedback for any of it. Also it’d be great if the ads were just used on stuff like daily challenges, rather than every single painting, but I could live with how it currently is. The price for premium is absolutely unrealistic, but there seems to be quite a bit here for free users such as myself. Overall it’s a nice experience and I’m looking forward to seeing how it progresses. EDIT: I bumped it up one star, because it’s extremely refreshing to see active / engaging developers like these guys. Keep it up!

This app has added so much more ads!!. Every time I switch this app for another and come back, there are 3 ads. Every time I open a new painiting there are 3 ads. And there are ads at other times. Very annoying and influences so much the experience.

It crashes too often. It is a fun game and easy to spend hours playing. Thought, when trying to colour some pictures usually on daily pics it take a long time to load then the game crashes. It is really annoying and not very reliable.

Favourite pastime and de-stress activity. I have been colouring with April for over a year now. I start my day with the daily image and end my day with Gallery options. While I don’t like original paint by number, I love the electronic version - you don’t ever need to worry about going outside the lines! The themes are vast and the images range from simple to complex. The range of colours is spectacular. The points system works well and you can access more images quickly.

Constantly crashing. Constantly crashing for no reason, and usually deletes some progress when it does. Cant even make it through a puzzle without the app crashing.

Good. The game is good but it takes a long time to colour, if you want to go fast consider choosing touch to colour games

Great but…. I love this app and have been happily Colouring on it for a while now; however, I do wish there was a way to swipe away galleries that I’ve finished, or don’t want to use, rather than having to scroll all the way through to see which ones I haven’t done yet.

Pricing. Saw the price and did not even bother to open the app. $156.00 a year for a colour by numbers app seems very steep particularly when you are asking for support to make the app better. I put one star because I had to. Since I never opened it I should have had the opportunity not to rate it.

Way to expensive.... I love the idea but when you have pixel and happy art out there that offer pretty much everything free. It’s hard to get on board. Buy stars, buy premium or wait 2 hours for one small painting. Just not worth the time expelled waiting and def not worth 170 a year!! That's beyond ridiculous. Not when I can go elsewhere and get the same thing for watching a short 5 second ad. When you want to lower prices or some alternative especially when I’m paying in US which will make it close to 16 a month! No Thank you. I’ll look back and see if anything has changed.

Awesome game!. I love this game. It is very relaxing and fun. It is not too boring yet not too addicting which is good for me because I have a tendency to love games so much that I get addicted to them. In summary, the game is amazing! I would definitely recommend it for anyone who is interested in the game.

OBSESSED.. This is literally the first and only review I’ll probably ever write, but I am head over heels for this app. I have really bad anxiety and this is the only app that keeps me stable in situations where I’m struggling (even apps specifically catered for breathing techniques, grounding, etc. don’t work). I am ALWAYS using this app, and I love the amount of pictures you have to color!!! I hope they’ll continue to come out with more so I never have to worry about running out. It’s easy, it’s relaxing, and it isn’t dependent on ads.

This app seems to drive you crazy instead of calming you down.. Just like the title says. When you finally find a picture to color, you must first use a stylus because your finger doesn’t glide on the screen very well. Second, when you are getting into a relaxing state by coloring the picture moves on you..... it really does. And after it moves on you, you accidentally hit a number of another color and it switches colors on you. It is not relaxing at all. Plus while your playing and distracted,they are kindly stealing your information. You will notice that your device gets really warm over a period. The free isn’t worth it so I definitely would not pay for it.

Very good, with a few small annoyances. This is a great app to use for iPad coloring with an Apple Pencil. The paintings are generally well-done and look good when complete. I find them a satisfying way to calm anxieties. The devs are responsive to any feedback. The annoyances: unlike other coloring apps (Lake, for example), subscribing does not give you access to all the paintings. You have to complete one or more galleries before unlocking the next one. The only other way to unlock a gallery is to sit through many ads in order to pile up the necessary credits to unlock the gallery. Totally unnecessary. I’d be happy to give this app five stars if a subscription gives us immediate access to every gallery.

Superb app. Full disclosure: I did sign up for the monthly premium option for this app and it is completely worth it! I love the beautiful artwork and vibrant colors found in every painting. The variety of subjects is outstanding! I thought at first I’d only do landscapes but then I decided to try a dog for a change. Wow! What a rewarding experience and I’m not even a “dog person”. This is by far the most relaxing yet entertaining app I’ve found in a long time. Give it a try. You’ll fall in love just like I did.

Love this app!. I think this is a fantastic app! As someone with an art background I’d always steered clear of colour by numbers apps as I thought they lacked creativity, but gave this one a go when I was listening to an audiobook and needed something to do with my fingers, lol. Now it’s my new go-to way to relax; April Colouring and an informative Audible on the go. I listen to all sorts of books and really get into them as I colour. Love the swiping motion, realized yesterday it is a bit like tickling a cat behind the ears 😆 and watching the colours appear is very visually appealing. Nicely done, April Colouring!

Awesome app very relaxing. I love this coloring app coloring by numbers is my favorite activity to unwind and this makes it super easy, one thing I wish I could change is where to place the color bar with the numbers. When I color with my Apple Pencil my wrist tends to hit a different color and switch the highlighted sections that I’m coloring which can be a bit annoying, having the numbers and colors listed at the top of the screen would be much more convenient but other than that I have no complaints!

Updated review: awesome on new iPad!. I first got this when I had an older iPad (Mini 3) and had terrible crashing problems. But I hung onto it in the hopes that I’d be able to use it if I upgraded. I now own an iPad Mini 5 and it works great! I love that you don’t have to get the premium version in order to have great content - the free content is still enough to keep me really busy. Beautiful pictures, and fun coloring. I use my Apple Pencil like it’s an actual colored pencil, and it’s fun doing it that way, but you can still just tap and fill a section if you want. Great coloring app!!

Too Many Issues. While I would love to leave a resounding positive review for this app, I can’t. I highly enjoyed painting on this app while I worked, however I’ve had problems since I downloaded it. I use an iPad Mini with an iOS well above the standard for use of the app and the app Always (and I mean always) Crashes. It’s quite frustrating to get to selecting a painting and go in to load it and the app closes. I’ve restarted my iPad, deleted and downloaded the app, I’ve unloaded some galleries to clear up space in the app and I’ve deleted other apps on my device to make room but nothing works. As I said before, I would love to leave a 5 star review because I really enjoy the app, but based on my own experience with the tech just not working I just can’t.

Too many ads, and all of them are polarizing. This app forces an ad every time you load a page (sometimes twice), so it would be smart to accept more neutral messages. Instead, you’re repeatedly hit up for donations to Trump, bible study, prayer groups and missionary work. Paint-by-Number doesn’t need a political point of view. Really off-putting if you’re not religious or republican. Edit: Thanks to the developer for the response. You may not control the ads shown, but you can opt out of “sensitive ads,” including political and religious ads. I’d love to see you do that because the barrage of bible/pro-Trump/right wing messaging is definitely spoiling the app.

I wanted to try out this app, but.... So basically I wanted to find a app that can get my mind off the coronavirus. I love art. So I tried this app. Right when I got in... I was so disappointed. The speed was slow and laggy and my screen went black and kicked me out of the app. 1/5 I have an iPad mini 2. Unless my iPad is too old, (I got it 4 years ago) please let iPad mini 2 and other devices that are like this play your app. If you don’t, you’ll get hate. Way to many ads. Everything you do has ads. Like u finish one, ad, you watch an ad to unlock one, then u click one open, ad, then if you get a message and reply than you com back, ad, you load the app, ad and its just that bad. I takes forever to level up. After all the ads I color maybe 2 pics a week if that because there are so many ads. Unless you want to pay money for the app, which is subscription based, just so you can color. Unless you pay for the game it just becomes absolutely pointless to play. O and then you have problems like your Apple Pencil not doing taps only in their app. So you have to restart it and guess what, ad. I just hate it.

Best coloring app. This is the best coloring app I have found. I like the mechanics of it. It feels like you are really coloring/painting. A few suggestions: - My biggest thing would be allowing control of how long it takes to “replay” the picture after completion. A slide bar would be great to control the replay. - Different ways to color. I like to mix it up. Sometimes I start with 1 and sometimes the last number. Sometimes I will just start at a corner or the focal point (or fill in the background first). More options are always nice such as a fill option or the ability to assign different colors to numbers. - As it is right now I think the subscriptions are a bit pricey. 4.99 or 5.99 a month would be a better price point (while dropping the longer subscription prices) unless more options are added (like the ability to make my own pictures into colorable art)

Love this app more every day!!. I’m loving this. I like that you “feel” like you’re painting. I love the variety of the choices. I still think the price of the subscription is steep & I would try the trial, but the way I read it, the fee is taken out when you sign up for the trial. I wish someone would clarify that for me. The only thing that I don’t like is that when I’ve started on a picture, I come back & may have to wait 2 hrs to get to it again-very annoying!! But I really love it!! I wish I had seen it sooner!!

Facebook Ad. Hello Creators I love your app, it’s very relaxing and the drawings are beautiful. But I have one complaint about the app. The app will show me a Facebook add that will end after watching 5 second video. But since yesterday, the video will not load and I can’t close the ad and get to the drawing. And that was the only ad that I would get after clicking on multiple drawings. I was wondering if you can fix the ad so I can get to the drawings. Thank you for your time.

Great, but waaaaaayyy too many ads. I downloaded this app at the beginning of COVID-19 and i love it. I love the swiping instead of tapping for the coloring and the diverse amount of things to color as well as the color palette! I recently had to trim some expenses and the only reason i am not giving 5 stars is because without having premium, the amount of ads is honestly kind of ridiculous. I’m cool with a few ads, i expect that. But the amount on this app without premium feels a bit astronomical. Also, the lowest price of premium is kind of expensive. Other than that, i looooooove this app and i use it everyday. It’s really calming to me and helps ease my anxiety.

premium doesn’t unlock all content. I signed up for the trial. I scrolled down the gallery list and saw some pictures I wanted to paint. Then I realized it was asking for somewhere around level 200 to open it! Or buy coins for real money on top of the subscription. That’s not cool. I had to immediately cancel the trial since I would never paint enough to ‘level up’ and get to the stuff I really wanted. A suggestion is to unlock all content for premium. I mean, the price is high compared to other apps of this nature, so I expected a premium experience. Jumping through more hoops to access what I already paid for is not worth it to me. Please consider this reasonable idea.

Don’t bother with this one!. After you pick the picture to color, watch the ad, the app closes. It must have done this a dozen times before I gave up on it. Was considering going premium but not now. You folks need to fix this before you start asking big bucks to buy in. Update: switched devices and went with my iPhone and 2nd mini iPad both of which have large memories. The app works fine on those devices. Since I am now paying premium, is it possible to remove he logo from the finished painting like competitive apps do?

Love this app. I started out with just building coins to purchase more coloring but then I loved this app sooo much, ( I stopped doing any other game, even my favorite jigsaw puzzle app which I played every night) I decided to do the quarterly fee and it is well worth it. This app is calming to me. I am disabled and I suffer from chronic pain every day, all day. This app helps me relax at night so I can get some sleep. I love how you actually color in the places instead of just tap. And the pictures are awesome. As long as they keep me in pictures,I’ll be coloring.

Really Great App ; Some Requests. I really love this app — it’s super functional, really intuitive, and plain fun. I have a few requests that i think could make it better though : - Could you please implement a way to collapse or hide galleries ? There are so many galleries in the app now that the scrolling function just isn’t practical anymore. - There may be a bug to fix. When I exit a gallery, the app brings me all the way to the top of the home page again, and I have to scroll aaaaaalllll the way down to the bottom to the most recent galleries every time. I’m not really sure why that is happening, but it’s really annoying.

I love it (it’s better now). I totally recommend this app the only thing is there is quite a lot of ads like every time I go to a different tab theres an ad and it gets very annoying and most of the drawings that you can color are premium, but I still really enjoy the app not important EDIT: the more I spend time on the app the more annoying it gets annoying like I said before there is SOOO a any ads and it very glitchy when I try to move around to get too more colors it gets stuck and then crashes it’s become less enjoyable, and I haven’t even mentioned that I’ve been playing for quite awhile and I’m only on level 6.

Not bad. Like other reviews I have read, this app has you coloring the areas instead of just tapping once to fill. I don’t quite agree on the subscription price for what you get, but it does look like you can unlock with the in game coins you earn(not sure as I haven’t tried this yet). It would be cool to have a feature where you can choose your own colors and or textures. The biggest thing that bothered me is there is no screen rotation, my device has a stand and I prefer to use landscape mode, so please add that feature in. Overall not too bad.

Fun, but limiting. I downloaded this game yesterday and I’ve spent hours playing it! It’s really relaxing and the pictures are all really pretty. I definitely recommend it if you need something calming and colorful to play. I find it a lot more challenging and less childish than other coloring games I’ve played, which is nice. However, I find it a bit limiting compared to other coloring games. I don’t mind the fact that some paintings are only available with premium. It’s more so that in each available pack, you can only do one at a time in the order they provide you. I would much rather be able to pick from a pack than have to do ones I don’t like in order to get to ones that I do. I also don’t like that within the packs you only get some of them for free, and other you have to pay in game coins for. I feel like you should just have a set in game coin price for them from the get go. Another suggestion, more just for fun, would be to allow the player to upload their own pictures to paint. But overall this is a very fun and relaxing game and I have been enjoying it a lot!

Latest update causes a dead spot in the upper right corner. I have a 2018 iPad Pro that’s been great using the app, but the latest update left me with about a 3/4” square dead spot in the upper RH corner of my screen, such that no amount of tapping or swiping gets a response. I first suspected my iPad was to blame, but a couple of tests lead me to believe it’s the app: 1. If I rotate the screen 180 degrees, the dead spot is still in the upper RH corner. The lower LH corner responds normally - exactly the opposite of what I should see if it’s a hardware issue. 2. When I tested the same corner using a different paint app it responded normally. Please let me know if this issue has been reported by others. The app is still usable but I have to avoid the “bad” corner which is annoying. Thank you. I will re-rate this app 5 stars if the issue I reported is corrected.

Requires Facebook?!?!. So for one of the packs, you can only access more than one painting if you pay money or if you have a Facebook account. Makes me wonder how tied up with Facebook they are… I guess the only way I could access it would be to pay, and given how off putting this policy is for me, there’s zero chance of me ever paying a single red cent. Edit: it is true you can hack the system. Therefore I’ve changed my rating since I like the app and every developer of free apps has the right to earn money for their work whether through ads or premium content or both.

It gets better every day. I e had my doubts about this app, but the more I use it, the better it gets. The pictures started simple and I always ran out of one to color. However, as I gained higher levels, the pictures are becoming increasingly more intricate to color, and with the recent upgrades, I can now sell and buy more pictures, even some of the premium pictures. Customer service has been extremely helpful and diligent, not something I’ve seen very much of. I do think that $10 per month is too much to pay; I certainly can’t afford that. Overall, this is a good app.

Great app but filthy ads. We have loved this coloring app in my house. The paintings are beautiful and not cheesy at all. My children and I all enjoy coloring in this app. Unfortunately, it has started showing filthy ads. The regular game ads are annoying but not offensive. I was shocked to see the new game ads, though. Thankfully, I was the one playing when an ad sexual in nature popped up and not one of my babies. This app is rated for 4+. I could not imagine my 4 year old son seeing that nasty game ad. If we continue to see these type of ads, I will have to delete this app. I would have loved to give this app a 5 star rating, but I just can’t do that with the type of ads that are popping up.

This coloring app is unlike all others.. Most coloring apps are the kind that you have to click to color. That’s personally not enjoyable for me at all. This has the soothing affect of actual coloring. It feels almost like a meditating coloring app. I also really enjoy the daily pictures and being able to recolor pictures you’ve already done. I would’ve loved to give five stars, but like several other people have shared, this app has stopped working for me. It crashes very soon after opening and I can’t color anything. I missed yesterday’s daily picture and I’m sure will miss others until this issue is fixed. I truly hope an update comes soon.

Stunning!. Hands down the best coloring app on the App Store. It’s not one of those auto fill coloring apps, where you just tap and the section fills with color. You can actually swipe to color in a section, and it’s not one of those “brushes” on other coloring apps (pencil, marker, etc.) which take a long time to complete a piece. The coloring is by number, but when you color it automatically changes to the corresponding color so you don’t have to go through the entire list of colors looking for a specific one. I also love how the outlines are omitted, which creates a beautiful effect on every painting which no other coloring app offers. I do think that adding a tutorial on coins would be helpful, as many people have deleted the app thinking that coins were a premium feature. Nearly all of this app is free and completely useable, WITHOUT destructive ads. The only ads that are there are the ones you can choose to watch to earn coins. All in all, an amazing app. I will be looking forward to future updates!

Premium is annoying.. The game is good, I enjoy the pictures very much and it is very relaxing. The only problem I have with it is the premium, it’s annoying how much content is locked unless you pay. It didn’t annoy me so much until the dailies, I always check in to unlock it with the ad every day, although I don’t tend to start them right away. But when I went back to start one of the daily pictures I unlocked the day before, it told me that it was locked and the only way to access it was through premium. Other than that, I don’t have any other issues and it’s overall a good experience

I LOVE this app!!!. This app has given me hours of entertainment since I first downloaded it over a year ago. I complete at least one painting per day and never seem to get bored. It’s the perfect app to wind down with, and I love playing while watching TV or listening to music or books before bed. I have always appreciated the ethnic diversity of their pictures and in response to recent events in America and around the world, I would love to see a Black Lives Matter gallery. I would also love to see a gallery for PRIDE. Anyway. This is absolutely the best coloring App I have come across and the other ones aren’t even in the same class.

Best Color-by-Number App. Of the color-by-number apps I’ve tried, this one is the best, and the first and only one that I’ve been willing and happy to pay a subscription for. It’s a relaxing app to use, and the finished pictures look good. Two suggestions, at opposite ends of the coloring spectrum: 1. A “quick fill” for those large swaths of a single background color. Let me tap once to fill the entire color section. 2. A “color lock” for those small areas where it’s easy to accidentally tap another color area and switch colors. For example, if I’m currently coloring #9, let me lock in on 9 until I’ve finished coloring all #9 areas.

Could Definitely Be Better.... I used to really like this app, but things have definitely changed. I now have to watch an ad every time I want to do a new picture even if I've already started that, and I can't do the one I want until others are done, even if I'm not interested in doing said others. When I finally complete a previous painting, I have to wait TWO HOURS for the next one to unlock, which feels extremely unfair and long. Not to mention how much stuff is locked if you play free like I do... I hope this changes in the future so it can be more fun again.

Subscription only? Or is there free content other than few day trial?. Is this only a free trial for a few days and then subscription? I tried to contact but don’t see a way other than something like FB etc. I don’t do those and there should be a way to contact other than a phone call. I thought April looked like a nice coloring app and wanted to check it out, but I don’t do any apps that have a “free trial, then your on a subscription” been burned by those before. And I’m not agreeing to terms and all that to get into the app to find out if there is free content as well as subscription content. The first thing that popped up was the free trial and I closed that one to be able to see if it was basically a subscription only type app but like I said, not going to accept terms until I know and not going to be burned with a charge....been there, done that.

Love this coloring app but could use a few improvements. I love this app, it actually feels like you are coloring(especially with the Apple Pencil) using a swipe motion and not just tapping to fill the color (which I hate) The only thing I don’t like about it is the pictures ONLY show in portrait mode, which is very uncomfortable to hold the tablet like that for any length of time(I have mine in a keypad so it adds more weight), so I end up just doing the pictures sideways. It would also be nice to have a gallery you could put your favorite completed pictures in so you can go back and look at them all in one spot.

Great app!!. I’ve tried several coloring apps before, but this one is by far my favorite. I’ve used this one for several months. Premium definitely has some benefits, but I like that I can access most of the content without it. The ads are reasonable, like every time you leave the app and come back, or to unlock daily pages. And the coloring pages are truly fantastic! I saw another review mentioned how much they like the diversity of the ages, genders, and races of the people you can color; I couldn’t agree more. There are so many different topics to choose to color from. Strongly suggest this app!

Good but pricey.. This is a really nice paint by number experience and I love the Apple Pencil integration. I wish they had pictures with sharp lines as well as “oil paintings” but that’s just my own preference. Coloring with the Pencil is pretty great. The only thing off putting is the pricing, which is a little high. Ten bucks a month (low end) to color seems excessive since I pay less than that for streaming services. Lol Even if you subscribe, you’re still locked out of a lot of categories unless you buy coins or “level up” quite a bit. I understand they need to make money but I subscribe to another (also very good) coloring app for less than this one. 😕

I feel tricked. This is the first review of an app that I’ve ever written. I actually really like this app; it’s different from every other coloring app I’ve tried, and I intend to keep using it. My issue with it is that once I get all the stars to unlock a new level I only get a few pictures, sometimes just two out of 10-12. I spend a lot of time getting stars and get all excited when I unlock a new level, only to see that 800+ stars gets me two new pictures. My excitement turns to disappoint. I feel tricked. Could we at least get half of the pictures in each gallery? I do watch ads to get coins, but two pictures for 800 stars? Come on guys.

Pretty cool app :). I don’t usually write reviews but felt compelled to write one for this app. I use it on the iPad which I find nice because of the pencil. The ads don’t bother me because they’re a way to earn coins which in turn can be used to buy more pictures. I might eventually subscribe, but for now I’m good with the free version. If I were to have a complaint it’d only be one & it be to allow a landscape mode on the iPad. It’d be very helpful, but other than that I like it.

Rip Off. I tried the free trial first. Loved it. There were paintings that were locked until you got to a higher level. Or you could buy them with in-game coins. I decided to subscribe to the highest tier of premium, figuring no more in-app purchases, and all paintings would be available to me. But no. I still had all the free trial paintings available and the in app purchases were exactly the same! So for $15 a month, you STILL have to get to levels and earn coins! I’ve completed 3 paintings. I have the 80 coins you start with and I’ve earned almost 200 of the 600 points I need to get to the next level. Of course you can buy more coins, but didn’t I already pay for a top tier PREMIUM subscription??? Very greedy! Buyer beware. This is a rip-off EDIT: Developer responded and said I can level up to get more galleries. Unacceptable for a PAID subscription. Unsubscribing.

Best coloring app…and a request. This is the best coloring app out there, period. The pictures are fun, the colors gorgeous. I love that you can color with strokes AND taps. Love the diversity of pictures to color. My wish would be to have easier access to unfinished galleries. Could they be all grouped together in the beginning or end of the gallery tab? I don’t alway finish them in order and have to scroll through a looping list of galleries to go back to older, unfinished ones. Thank you!

Missing Features. 1. Split screen use: I have to keeping switching apps, rather than if I’d like to keep a podcast, music, or try meditation app beside it while coloring. 2. Landscape mode: I use my iPad in landscape mode primarily. Having functionality to use the app in this orientation would provide a more comfortable way to handle my device while in use. 3. Ability to purchase specific images, if not interested in monthly membership. There are times when I’m more active/less active in using the app, which is why I don’t carry a monthly membership. I would like a more flexible option to access additional images, when desired.

Great app but.... I just started using this app and I think it is very relaxing and lovely to use. The pictures are stunning and there is a great variety to choose from. My only complaint is how when coloring the picture seems to “stick” to my medium of choice (whether my finger, pen or stylus) and makes it impossible to continue because it moves around the screen. Is there any way to keep the image frozen? Same problem happens with zooming...sometimes it zooms in by itself without being able to control it. You should look into an app called Cross stitch which is more user friendly

EXCELLENT COLORING APP. I NEVER write reviews but I have to give a BIG thumbs up to April!!! It’s an amazing painting app. I use it on my iPad Pro and use my iPencil with it. You actually get to make the motions like you are truly coloring or painting. You can double click the color in case you can’t find one, you can tap a section of the picture and it will automatically go to that color. You can’t mess this up!!! It doesn’t allow you to go outside the lines and you get to earn stars to level up and unlock new pictures to paint. I can’t say enough good things about this app. If you love to color and or paint and you need something to help you relax this is the app for you.

Sometimes less than relaxing. I generally like this app. Most of the content is beautiful, but I’m finding I get very annoyed at the number of silly pictures of young women. Several of them I had to paint just to unlock other pictures, and they were not at all interesting or beautiful They were also in galleries that had nothing to do with random girls faces. Perhaps these should be in a separate gallery for people who aren’t looking for still lives or flowers or landscapes. It felt like a penance I had to pay to get back to beautiful colors and serene images, and that’s the opposite of relaxing.

Great Styles & Options. This is personally one of my favorite “games”. It’s addicting, and there is lots of categories and different styles for everyone and different people. Yes, about 30% of all the drawing pages require Premium for a fee, but there are still many amazing and fun scenes to create. If you’re not patient, and you enjoy fast-paced games, this definitely isn’t for you. For me, the satisfaction of completing a drawing, and the colors all together making a work of art is amazing. Good job Crimson Pine Games, truly a colorful and great game!

A few tiny problems. Ok the game is really good and I play it almost everyday. But, there are a few small things that if they were fixed, make me give a five star review. First, when you fill like 86% of the color it fills the rest in for you. Second, I could only color like three pictures when I first started the game. Last, There’s not much freedom on what colors you can use. I also like that there is black people and men in the game because in other coloring games you see mainly white women. I wish that more pictures were available for beginners. Overall the game is awesome but if you could change these things it would be the best color by number game I played.

Patience versus spending money. Edit: Developer responded to my review and fixed my problem. No longer stuck and now this game has me hooked again. This app is relaxing to me. This is my second coloring app I’ve tried. I like it but I’m stuck in level 6 because I can’t get enough experience to unlock levels. So I either have to spend money for the “premium” pictures or do the daily pictures until I get enough experience to unlock level 7. If you’re willing to spend the money then I think you’ll be good but I’m not.

Great App. First of all I love this app. I like the fact that I can actually colour in it and not just fill in. With my Apple Pencil, it makes it easy. I don’t subscribe but I like the fact that as you go you can unlock new paintings or buy with your coins. The only thing is when you walk away from the app, it closes and you have to go back through everything to find your work in progress. Maybe there should be a section for that.
