Fixed!!. I tried again to open the app this morning and it’s working. Might be an issue on startup and Game Center sync. No idea really, but it works now! As soon as I open the app the screen goes to a solid reddish color, and then goes black /immediately suspends. I can still it in my “active apps” but if I try to re-open it suspends again. I’ve also tried deleting and re-installing to no avail. Store page looks great, but can’t play it. :( Fix it and I’ll be sure to update my review!

Good game but the controls are garbage. I have yet to play a level of this game where I didn’t die due to input lag or missed inputs. This was clearly made and tested by people with a keyboard, since the controls would be about 50x better with buttons. The fact that there’s only one control scheme is weird, since a button overlay doesn’t seem very hard to add.

Can’t even get past 11m. The graphics and controls are fine, but none of that matters when you are soft locked after 6 swipes of the screen

Great platformer. This unique take on the puzzle/platforming genre is a ton of fun and will leave you wanting more levels. The frequent nods to Super Mario are a very nice touch.

Super Fun Game. I haven’t had any issues starting the game, like I guess other people have. It has worked every time for me, and I’m really enjoying it. Learning new strategies as I play more, which is something I find to be rare in most mobile games: it’s a GAME. It’s not pestering you for money for extra lives or to speed up wait times. Even the ads aren’t intrusive hardly at all, but I still upgraded to the no-ads version because I wanted to support the developer for making a genuinely good game. Definitely check it out!

It works for me. I don’t know what the fuss is about it not working I just got the game and was thinking there is no way it can’t launch I want to check this out myself then I got it and it launched first time and it’s fun to play

Poorly optimized?. I have a fairly new iPhone 7 Plus and after downloading the game and trying to launch it, it would crash. I then deleted and reinstalled the app thinking something may have gone wrong there but it still functions improperly and crashes upon first use.

Get this game now it is sooo goood. Img i got this game 2 days ago and i still can not stop it is adicting no it is not for babies and the levels are pretty hard

Immediately found game-breaking bug. About 15 seconds in I find the first key-block and cannot get past it. The hint in the corner seems to indicate I can go through if centered on the block, but because of the mechanics that’s literally impossible. Very frustrating and disappointing.

CRASH. The game crashes most of the time when I try to open it, and when it does work the controls of the game mess up. It needs to be worked on. When I try to swipe up or left or right to move it doesn’t work most of the time.

Broken... still. I was able to download it and play it for a little while and it claims to have bugs fixed but after a while it just flashes a red screen and exits out of the app. It was a challenging game but fun, just wished it actually worked

Could’ve been better. This game wasn’t good but it not that bad. The idea of the game was good but there is only so little you can do with it. There is only two thing to do ( except for the shop ) which is endless and level selections. Once you start the game you have to start on endless and to unlock the levels which is like the same as endless but in a small section. The levels are 4 worlds and each world has 4 level and one fairly easy but challenging boss which most of the time were easy except for 3-3 and 4-4. The game only took and hour to play and 4 minutes after that to get all the coins from each level which is kinda easy to understand because of how easy this game is. Then again I felt like this game could’ve been better like when you start the endless, it just pure red and you don’t see another color unless you pass 80(meters?) also when watching an ad, sometimes the ad wouldn’t which waited force you to close the app and lose you progress of the level your on ( 3-3, 4-4). Overall this was a hard, boring game except for the idea of how to play.

Lots of bad things. The game is enjoyable and has a nice concept, but there are some things that ruin the gameplay. First, the controls. They could be better but are not bad. They are a bit slippery but mediocre. Next, I think it was dumb that you had to pay for the adventure mode. It is an ADVENTURE MODE. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO USE THE IN GAME MONEY TO PAY FOR IT?!?! Lastly, the level design, my worst complaint about it. The second level in adventure mode, it is so RIDICULOUSLY HARD to get the last collectable. It made me rage and delete the app that I just got 5 minutes ago.

Fun. Fun game, seems to me like they fixed the crashing, when it runs its fun and a good time killer

Fun game. I guess it’s not the game that has bad connections maybe it’s the people’s devices other than that it’s a great game

Awesome. I don’t understand why people hate this game so much, it’s awesome! There are no problems and it’s addictive. All of those people who say it is hard, are just bad at the game.

Glad it works now. So after a few hours of it not working I decided to try it again and it works and it’s fun but the only problem is that the instructions need to be more clear because to unlock the first block you have to hold and that’s not vary clearly said in the game

Good game BUT.... I downloaded this game yesterday, and as soon as I got used to the (surprisingly intuitive) controls, I realized how fun this simple game is. It’s fast paced, makes you think, but isn’t too challenging. Ads aren’t intrusive, and the game can still be fun without micro transactions. Unfortunately when I tried to open the game today, it just crashes immediately. I had seen this issue in reviews before downloading but didn’t think anything of it until it happened to me. Nitrome, as someone who has played your online games for years, I beg of you to fix this game <3. I’m giving 4 stars until then ;)

A very hard (and fun) platformer. The increasing difficulty in this games levels combined with retro-style graphics reminds me a lot of a game called Celeste. I hope when it updates there will be more levels. But still this is a great game and I recommend it to anyone who needs something to do while they’re bored or if they want to try to get 100%.

Crashes on startup. It's a fun game altogether (I wish there was more than 16 levels) but occasionally it's crashed every time I try to open it.

Amazing!. I am very picky with games but this game is amazing, the ideas and the challenges are great, and there is BOSS FIGHTS! Wow! Hopefully they will make more Worlds and more enemies to fight in the game. Keep up the good work!

Stop the Glitch. There is a glitch in the game that makes you stop at 11m

HORRIBLE GAME. When I first downloaded this game, it wouldn’t even start. The second time I downloaded the game play didn’t even work out! It’s impossible to get past the tutorial. Don’t waste your time on this game. I have it three chances and each time failed me! Again, don’t even waste your time.

Great game mechanics, controls could use work. There’s about a 10 to 20% chance the game misses a direction change that just kills me. This pretty much makes the W4 boss impossible. The game is awesome, way better than most iPhone games. There’s a great reliance on skill to progress. Maybe on the blue part of endless make the spikes a different color, with everything moving fast they blend in with the background.

Needs bug fixing. This game is really fun! When it works... occasionally, it will begin to crash every time you try to open it. Until the issue is fixed, I’ve noticed that reseting your phone temporarily fixes this.

Fun & Enjoyable. Addicting like all Nitrome games. Though others say it doesn’t work, mine seems to be fine. Fun with easy mechanics. Overall a fun game

The fix. The game didnt work for me the first time. I just need to clear the ram. I went into settings and held the power button. Once the swipe to shut down showed up i held the home button until it brought me back to settings. Then the app worked for me

I have a iPhone SE running iOS 11.3.1 - when I try to play the game it crashes Then I have an iPod touch running iOS 9.3.5 and the game actually works sooooo... I don't know... Well-made game. I have an 8 plus and it works fine on my phone. The controls take a bit to get used to, but after the initial learning period, it gets much easier to maneuver your way through the levels. And I saw another review say that they couldn’t get past the first lock, but all you have to do is hold down the up “button” and it will unlock. This is a great game and I highly recommend it.

The games great but…. The games great I would rate it a 5 but sometimes the game does not pick up the sneed that i tapped or swiped on the screen so I die but other than that the games great (ps. You should add new modes, characters and bosses) great work on this game!

A malfunction occurred right away.. At the beginning of this game there’s a part where the character has to jump up like a key to unlock the next part but I couldn’t get it matched up or to fit so I deleted this app because of this problem.

Fun and great game but one issue. The game seems to keep crashing upon trying to start it up. The screen seems to turn red then black and then it kicks you out of the app. I even tried to close and reopen the app multiple times and that doesn’t even do anything. Please fix this.

Good!. People saying that it crashes and does not work don’t have a supported device, I have an iPhone X and I runs perfectly, if you have a 8 or up it should run fine.

I always get stuck at 11m. I start the game. And it loads normally, and u start playing it and then at 11m; it doesn't let me press the key button because I'm a little to the side... I restarted the game again and it did the same Sincerely, BodakiozWeirdo

Network issue. Definitely great fun when you can get it to work. I notice it starts up and plays just fine when on WiFi at home but when at the office it crashes on startup. I'd have to guess there's some kind of security verification issue going on?

Um... that's it?. As is, the game is fundamentally broken. I have been stuck on the very first lock block because I'm not able to pass through it. I'm either on the far left or far right. The developers have to either widen the lock blocks or implement midair turning, because there is a disconnect here.

Doesn't deliver nitrome quality. Looked promising, like many nitrome games. But as I played even the tutorial stage I found the touch controls soggy and temperamental. Swipe to move and hold to hang, but it requires large finger movements and long delays so control felt slow and cumbersome. In a game requiring tight timing and with a constantly rising lava floor, these holdups are not just annoying but outright kill what might have been a pleasant game.

Not as good as expected. Most Nitrome games are well made and fun, I would know, I’ve played many. This one was fine in gameplay and content but the controls weren’t very fine-tuned or responsive. This let me down. Occasionally, the game will put an “intermission” in order to play an ad. Most of the time, the ad won’t play and I will have to start the level from the beginning. I understand that this might not be for all users but it still frustrated me a lot. If the game was updated and the ads were fixed, I could see it being much better.

I don't quite get the bad reviews.... Despite checking the reviews, I decided to check out this game. I expected a lot of lag and crashing, but nope. Nothing of the sort happened. Not sure why others got it, but it worked just fine for me. The mechanics were interesting, and it feels rather polished. It's smooth enough, nothing feels clanky... it plays pretty nicely! The game, however, is nothing more than a mobile game to play in-between sessions as a kind of... break? It's definitely involving some elements of puzzle-solving, but it's a score-based game. I definitely think it's an overall alright game.

Original Game, No. Good Game, Yes.. Spike city is a game that you could say takes heavy “Inspiration” from Playgendary’s Tomb of the Mask (TotM). But it isn’t a copycat. Spike city improves on a lot of the things that Tomb of the Mask did before it, such as better level design, an abundance of enemy types and most importantly significantly less ads than TotM. Spike city also has a much more cartoonish art style, which in my opinion looks fantastic. The story mode in here was loads of fun, with giant boss battles at the end of each level. My only complaint is the length of the story mode. It had took me under half an hour to finish it, and I need more in a later upeate.

Just the Best. It’s the best game I ever played

Lock block fix???. I can’t get past the first lock block because it appears as though you have to hit a button in the middle but I can only move the spike the far right of left.

Game Lock. Intermission love CSS the game up, having to reset it. Controls are sketchy at best... Go up, end up going left... Go to a gap, backs up and gap is missed... etc.

nuisance.. - controls tend to not respond properly - game will hit lag spikes from seemingly nowhere - sound effects are too obnoxious and loud compared to the music. - game will crash on startup if music is playing - controls are far too rigid and not nearly as intuitive and naturally as they need to be.

Stuck in the tutorial. The first lock block you encounter appears to require you to stick the button in the middle but I can only move to each side of the block by swiping thus initiating a mad frenzy of swiping and swearing.
