Focus and Relax changed. Oh no!! I really liked the Recovery soundscape, but I am mostly disappointed in the recent changes to the Focus music. I even sent a message asking if it had changed before almost accidentally finding out it and Relax had cut out “the energetic parts.” Those energetic parts were really helpful in helping wake me up, keep me focused, and keep track of time. Now it’s fairly boring ambient noise. I had been impressed at how the Focus music was fairly energetic but not distracting, as in I stopped noticing it but was able to read and focus on other things. Many apps claim science in music helping with focus etc, but the ones I tried didn’t help that much and seemed based less on practical experiments and more on theoretical science. I was surprised at how well Endel DID work. I’m writing this in hopes the creators will see this and take my comments into account! Even if you keep focus and recovery as boring, can you introduce a similar mini soundscape of your previous Focus? And add the recovery again even if it’s mini? Not sure what to rate for now because I do love the app, but this change is enough to second guess whether I’m willing to pay for it. Edit: thank you for the response! I’ll adjust my rating. ^_^ So far, more recognizably zippy at times, heh.

Good at what it does but increasing frustrations. I like the sounds, but man this app has become so aggressive at trying to get money from me. I just opened the app and it asked me if I wanted to spend $30 just to reskin the visuals of the app. And that $30 was only for one set of reskins, you don’t even get all of them for that price. I get developers have to make money. I was just truly in disbelief at the attempt to charge so much for so incredibly little. Not to mention at the top of my home screen in the app, there’s currently a large banner that says “Didn’t care for Premium? Please share why the subscription didn’t work for you to help Endel get better.” Which would be reasonable…if it weren’t for the fact that I am currently subscribed to Premium, so it makes no sense. I like Endel because the Focus sounds really help me in my work day. The increasing number of distractions to try and make more money off me (on top of what is, let’s be completely honest, a very steep price for the subscription itself—a price I’m willing to pay because nothing else works as well to keep me focused, but a price that is still quite hefty for what you get).

Works perfect for me!. Don’t really understand the negative comments really. If it doesn’t work for you then let that be it. Not everything works for everyone but don’t bash the app because it didn’t “do anything” for you. I use the free version (which is a little more limited) but mainly the sleep mode, set the 20 minute timer and I’m knocked out every time before the 20 minute timer ends! Will be upgrading to the yearly subscription soon, hopefully with a discount email. Definitely recommend trying this app out if you have trouble sleeping, a student, want to meditate and focus or overall just want to hear some soothing sounds in the background. Have it paired with my HomePods and downloaded the Apple TV version even.

The only productivity soundscapes app that really works.. This isn’t a paid review and neither is to your generic soundscapes app with forest or river sounds in the background. The ethos behind this app is to lead by sound design and exploit the human auditory senses. The soundscapes are by pioneer electronic musicians like R Hawtin, Laraaji, James Blake who know more than a thing or two about designing sound and creating some this generations most shape shifting music. As a lifelong electronic music fan, I can assure you will achieve whatever you set out to do because the soundscapes itself are top quality and researched. The team behind this are also people who know their music which is why I’d recommend it over anything else. Also please bring in Moritz Von Oswald, Daniel Bell, Ricardo Villalobos, Shackleton,Larry Heard, Ben Klock, Oneohtrix Point Never, Autechre, Skee Mask, Venetian Snares, Boards of Canada, Amon Tobin, and Squarepusher on board.

I’ve tried them all, this is the greatest by far!. I have actual immediate results from this app, it’s amazing how well it helps me to focus! I have 3 main options I listen too that have tremendously helped me! The “deep work” option helps me focus when I’m working, I love how I can set the timer and focus on my tasks until I complete it. I also love the “read” option, because I can now read for hours without my brain wandering or without getting distracted. Then I also frequently use the “meditation”option, and this one helps me to stay in a meditative state of mind the entire time I set for meditation, it’s amazing! I truly do believe the science behind these sounds on this app is absolute. Thank you so very much to the makers of this app, it’s life changing! 🙏❤️💯

🌈Totally Magical 💎🧝🏽‍♀️🙏. I love this app so much. Best sleeping/sound scapes. Grimes drew me in, she is my fAvourite artist. Also, i love sleep sounds and ambient sound scapes~& use solfeggio frequencies aka binaural beAts mostly from you tube. i love how it endel tailors the soundscape specifially to your environment and body rythms. I want to get an apple watch to sync my heart rhythm! I used the power nap function and literally woke up feeling like I had been put under a magic spell!! Like, in the best way~Im not much of a napper lol too so totally cool... I had healing dreams && everything.... seriously blew me away. Kind of feels like it was made just for me, and I hope Everyone who uses it feels this way too :) I look forward to future updates && new artists, also i hope the AI lullably can stay around forever 💖🧝🏽‍♀️🧜🏽‍♀️ thank you 🙏🙏🙏💙🙏🙏🙏

Horrible. Customer service is awful. I wrote in to assist me with an issue and they completely failed to do so. Their response was so inappropriate and condescending. I’m appalled that a business that promotes well being treats their listeners with so much disrespect. The music all sounds the same and the app is hard to operate. The choices are an endless stream of the same dark and depressing music. I would not recommend this app to anyone looking to improve their mental health. My experience with the staff was so frustrating and stressful. Surely not the experience I’d expect from a mental wellness team. The music is ineffective to put me in a state of mind where I am calmer. The sounds are irritating and the production quality is poor. Sounds like someone is running this operation out of their basement. DON’T SUBSCRIBE to this. It’s a waste of money and I can assure you the people behind this app are complete frauds.

Converted skeptic. TL;DR: 11 months, better sleep, more focused reading, and a team responsive to emails and quick to fix issues I didn’t know how much better my sleep was until a recent update messed it up. The Endel team was responsive to emails and quickly put out an update. When I emailed to say it didn’t work, they suggested (same day) I delete and reinstall the app. Reinstalling worked and I was able to sleep well last night. My subscription is up in a few weeks and I am totally renewing for another year. Zero regrets about the cost because of the app, the team, and the new features/sounds that they frequently add.

Changing my life. I’ve used sound to deep work and sleep for years, but this is just a whole new level. WORK (Focus mode) This has instantly boosted my focus depth and duration while working. It has replaced the Thunderspace app and my ‘Chill’ playlist I used previously. WALKING (On the go) I use it while walking, and I meditate and pray while I walk. I do know how they do it, but the sound is so unique, interesting, rhythmic and beautiful. It really helps me get in the meditative zone very quickly. It has dramatically improved the quality of my meditation through walking. SLEEP I’ve used the Pillow app for a few years, as well as the Smart Alarm feature on my Withings/Nokia wearable tracker - mainly to wake up at a good time in my sleep cycle. While this app doesn’t have that feature, I have begun to use the Sleep feature in place of the sounds of the Pillow app just before bed. Works great, and I like the sounds much better. RELAX While I do t use this one very often, it seems to work when I do. I’ll chill out while reading or contemplating, or while making a fire at home. For me, the killer features are the fact that this is all in one beautiful app that’s a joy to use, and secondarily, that the quality of the sound and features are second to none. This has become one of my top 5 third-party apps, probably forever. Nice work team!

New app is a nightmare. I was getting prompted the past few weeks that I was using an outdated version of the app. I didn't really think anything of it because I figured my app would be updated on its own through the Mac App Store. Boy was I wrong. I found out it's a completely different app and the old app is unavailable. The new one doesn't have a floating window with the visualisations, it only shows a limited set of soundscapes at a time based on some goofy tabs you have to select from a fly-out menu. It's unintuitive, not immersive at all like literally any of the other Endel apps, and just not enjoyable to use. If this doesn't get reverted or seriously reconsidered within a reasonable time frame I'm going to start looking at alternatives because I need a service like Endel on my Mac. This is a major step backward.

Support resolved issue in review. I work overnights and seen that the app was supposedly updated to use your wake time in the health app to adjust its algorithm to match the users sleep cycles well it doesn't do that. Every time I go to bed between 8am - 9am it plays morning rise energy sounds and when I use it in the middle of the night when my work is in full swing it plays sleep sounds. So unless you adhere to Endel's pre conceived notion of what they declare is normal sleep / wake schedules then this will app won't help you in fact it would be a detriment. I guess if you work 8am - 4pm and sleep around 10pm - 6am everyday you might find some use here. I'm rating it one star because for shift workers it is useless. Not that it matters in my case because I don't use the app but if I did it's imperative that this type of app allows background play so users can put on sleep stories, podcast, or other ambient sounds while also playing Endel.

Same Music No Updates. First off if everything went as expected I would have given the app a 5 star rating. I used this app for getting to sleep. After the demo period I paid the $49, reluctantly , but expecting more music choices within the specific area to be soothed, which in my case was the sleep area. Even after paying for the app the sleep music remains the exact same. That in it self kept me from falling asleep. I am giving this app two stars because the music has been the same thing without any changes. There is no indication anywhere that I read that updates come out only when the music is finished. There are no choices and you’ll listen to the same thing over and over. I requested a refund due to no additional selections although the documentation implies it.

Where is the AI?. Beautiful sounds and layout but lacking the personalization they keep hyping up. There’s nothing on this that seems to be “adapting” to me specifically. Sounds like they just created sounds to seamlessly transition into each other on timed loops. I get that these sound compositions have been “scientifically” inspired but where is the personalization to me specifically? The free trial was nice but I feel misled and would not recommend purchasing. I couldn’t find anything online in regards to how this is personalized to an individual. They say it’s based on “circadian rhythm” and “location based” and this study says that while that study says this, but I’m left thinking ok but how, what about this makes it AI? What makes this personalized? They say it’s location based ok but that’s a lot of people in one spot getting the same sounds. How does this personalize on the individual level? Maybe I’ll check this out again in the future when it’s more advanced and they’ve figured out to personalize it to the individual person, not just groups of people.

Sign in process overly tedious. the app itself is great. why do i have to go through the same slideshow about how endel works and what it is before i can even sign in? if this app is about increasing focus and productivity, why am i forced to answer the same questions and look at the same images before being given the option to log in. and as far as the actual login goes - please allow people to create passwords and not rely on "magic links." after finally deciding to go through the repetitive slides, i had to wait 10-15 minutes and request three different emails. yes, there are people who benefit from a magic link, but there are also people who have and use password managers and a "magic link" is actually a "magic waste of my time".

My new favorite app. Mere minutes after beginning the seven day trial, I paid for the lifetime option—which was deeply discounted at the time. I use Endel daily; it has supplanted several other relaxation and ambient sounds apps. Although I was hesitant to allow location and motion tracking, it does enhance the experience (somewhat limited, I suppose, by the fact that I don’t wear a fitness tracker or heart rate monitor). I’m happy to see the problem with disconnecting headphones and Bluetooth speakers is fixed. It was annoying to have to switch modes or quit and relaunch to get sound back. For those who tend to keep screens dimmer, unselected mode icons can be difficult to see. Otherwise I love the interface. I particularly like the timer. I don’t know why all soundscape apps don’t have one. Although I like the new winter mode, periodically some the loop transitions are a bit abrupt. (Strings maybe? The sounds have changed and it’s not happening as I write this.) I think it would be nice if it becomes a seasons mode that changes with the calendar.

Useful in a variety of situations!. I saw an ad for Endel on social media and downloaded it on a whim, which is *very* unlike me. Well, I like it so much I now subscribe to Endel premium and will likely purchase the Lifetime membership in the future. Main factors contributing to my 5-star rating: - The quality and variety of the soundscapes suitable for pretty much any activity - Frequency of updates and new releases! I am consistently impressed at how quickly Endel are rolling out new, innovative features and expanded soundscapes - It’s effective for me. I give credit to Endel for helping me during the current shortage of ADHD medication in the U.S. The “Deep Focus” soundscape is my best friend during intense bursts of productivity. It really does help me focus. The other soundscapes are wonderful, too! - Real-time soundscape personalization. I appreciate how the soundscapes change based on input from my Apple Watch. It’s especially cool when you’re exercising and using the “Move” soundscape. - The community is awesome. Endel have a Discord and it’s very active! Endel feels like a passion project for the devs; you can tell by how they interact with the community, solicit and respond to feedback, and even do cute things like send you a small token of appreciation (I’m currently waiting for my Endel candle! 😉) 10/10 would download again lol

One of my favorite apps ever. I've been using Endel for a long time, and have always really enjoyed the mobile version. I originally tried using the desktop version and was disappointed that there were some features that weren't the same as the mobile version, so I stopped using it, but today I decided to re-download the desktop version and I'm really impressed with the recent update! It even has the Tune Sound feature, which is one of my new favorites. Now I can continue using Endel to help me focus, while easily enjoying it on my laptop and listening to things, like tutorials I need, while simultaneously not needing to pause Endel (like I was doing before when it was only on my phone and I was switching back and forth, which wasn't helpful for productivity). So yay! One thing that could use improvement/fixing is the Airplay feature from iPhone to Macbook. It seems to have some sort of bug. But other than that, I'm a happy camper :)

STUDY MODE.. It’s an absolute lifesaver! I would subscribe to this even if it was only the Study soundscape. It’s a nonstop, continuous stream of lofi that’s absolutely perfect for schoolwork or studying. It changes slightly every so often to the time/your heart rate so that it doesn’t get boring, but it also stays consistent so that you don’t get distracted. Honestly I can’t recommend this enough for students. There’s nothing else that gets me into the zone faster like this app- eventually after a little bit it fades into the background and you barely notice it as you’re so focused on whatever you’re doing. I used to be someone who got distracted so often and had almost no motivation for school, and this honestly helped a lot. The other soundscapes are nice, but I haven’t fully tried any of them out besides sleep (it works like a charm too-knocks me out cold). Be warned, however: at times the app can get a little bit pseudoscience-y and a little too pretentious. Just take everything with a grain of salt and you’ll be off to the races.

Dishonest. The sounds are NOT personalized. I would rate 5 if it didn’t falsely advertise. The sounds are really nice, soothing, and I think they might work. But they are not customizable or personalized. There are four, period. When you first sign on, the first screen gives you the illusion of personalization with some tags you can choose for what you’re doing, but there is no way to bring it back up and edit the tags. Other people Im the room chose the opposite settings and we all have the same four sounds, and no one can go back to the screen we saw when it first opened. I also noticed someone else call3d this out and was given a longwinded answer that doesn’t address the lie and distracts from feedback, misleading the reader to think the review is referring to something else. Just sell it for what it is. It is four lovely sounds, with a gorgeous interface. 5 stars. But if you’re selling me personalized sounds that is just a gross lie. And if I’m wrong, there’s something very wrong with the app. Your promise is not accessible, and the first screen seems to be just for show. You know, a mock-up.

So far so good. For me, 7 days was not long enough to be sure about this app. But I’m not disappointed because I suspected this would be the case. So I waited for the 1 yr subscription to start and then canceled it so that I’d have a year to work with it. It takes a while to fully learn how to work this app into your life but I’m getting there. It’s not a magic wand, you have to do your part as well... at least in my case it takes practice and experimentation. For example finding the most effective volume for various soundscapes was a big help for me. I’m pretty sure I’ll restart the subscription at the end of my year. Just don’t want to forget to stop it just in case. One recommendation to the development team. The fade in/out in the latest upgrade is good. Fade out should also be added to the timer setting when a sound alarm is not set. This way when you fall asleep the abrupt volume drop doesn’t wake you up.

Warning!!!. PLEASE!!! Do NOT open this app unless u like being automatically forced into a subscription without you even having to decide. From the moment you open the app they put you on a trial and give you no way to cancel it. Doesn’t show up in the subscription part of your account setting. Can’t cancel it via app or any other option. They take u step by step explaining how to cancel or unsubscribe but when u get there there’s nothing to cancel. . Apps great though if you don’t mind being forced into a subscription/trial ***Update*** I’ll write again since i can’t find my review nor is my issue resolved. It’s flawed. No app should be able to put you on a trial soon as you open it. A trial doesn’t show up in your subscriptions yet the only information they give you is how to cancel a subscription in which your trial won’t even pop up until you’ve been charged..that is bad business.

Overloaded with garbage. This app was fine until it got overdeveloped. The use is gentle useful soundscapes at the push of a button. For a long time I could reliably just push an apple watch complication and launch a soundscape. Now I can’t launch it without dismissing multiple popup screens (I think I had five different ones on my last launch), and closing / re-opening the app. Launching from watch complication never works. Defeats the whole purpose. A lot more content has been added but the developers completely lost site of basic utility in a quest to add value and, I suspect, justify their investors’ money and their own salaries. Definitely will not subscribe for another year unless developers focus on the massive technical debt they accrued by focusing on content instead of UX.

Endel Is So Luxurious. If you like being in the know on cutting edge technologies and regularity seek self improvement- or you have ADHD, a sleeping disorder- or you are a person who is disciplined about a regular routine so you can be on point to meet the demands of a a high pressure job- Then you should add Endel to your routine. This has been a wonderful tool for me to focus, meditate, decompress on my drive after work, conditioning my brain for good sleep, helps w focus for yoga. I play it in my classroom and my Autism students request my music if it’s NOT on. My parents are asking about Endel for their kiddos at home. My dog struggles with anxiety and loud noises and he LOOOOVES Endel!!! He sleeps like a baby hearing a lullaby as he sleeps. It soothes him when he is stressed. And most of all my sleep is so amazing- it beautiful to wake up to. If I wake in the middle of the night I am fall right back into beautiful sleep and I wake so refreshed. I can’t rave enough about the benefits of this beautiful life saving tool. I want to tell everyone about it!!! I it’s just been like a godsend for me in my life. I joined at the discount first time for one year and I will definitely join again regardless of cost. I could not put a price on all the benefits I have gotten as I sit it line’s waiting for COVID tests or vaccination tests. Long lines at banks ets. Endel! You should go there🕉

I do not get it. I’ve been using the app for a couple of months and have decided it falls between frustrating and useless. Essentially you pay an annual subscription for a very limited playlist of benign and sometimes annoying sounds. In fact, the app is so disappointing and frustrating to use that it makes me much less calm and relaxed. -The interface is aesthetically nice but utterly inscrutable. To play Endel in the background, you have to dig through the nonstandard screens and buttons (not just industry nonstandard, but inconsistent within the app itself) then click a couple of more buttons followed by some warning message you have to dismiss. Crazy. -There is only one option that I find pleasing to listen to (Sleep) but I am unable to customize it much or combine it with other options (Nature Sounds for example would be nice). -It seems it’s just a limited playlist of the same dozen songs/sounds. If there is some magical benefit to how the sounds and music are constructed, it’s completely ineffective for me. -There is some insight card thing that is dopey and provides zero insight (‘You are a restful badger,’ or some such gibberish).

It’s okay. I don’t dislike the app, and I did enjoy using it. However, my takeaway is this is primarily a collection of ambient music/ soubdscapes coupled with a pretty and visually pleasing graphics. I don't know if this app constitutes as AI. More likely at best it may read your health info and do “if-then” logic. That doesn't seem to me like real AI, actual learning intelligence. More like the app reads a set of variables such as time of day, heart rate, etc. Then running a routine determines what to play outlined by a group of instructions. Would I pay $50+ a year? No! Would I pay $25 ? Maybe. But like many others I am sick of all the subscriptions. I do believe an individual can create similair curated playlists with Apple Music, or most other music subscription services. The advantage here the app is doing much if the curating.

This app has changed my life. I wasn’t a soundscape person before downloading this app, but I can certainly say that I am now. I first downloaded the app after seeing it on Apple’s App of the Day and was especially excited when I saw Grimes had contributed to the app. I did not expect the app to have such a profound affect on my everyday life. I have become accustomed to using the AI Lullaby soundscape when I study (hoping Grimes x Endel will be back soon!) and I use the Sleep soundscape when I sleep. The corresponding visuals are soothing. I really can’t express how this app has changed my life, both in helping bring joy when I study and helping me sleep better. Thank you, Endel!

Wanted to love it.. I truly wanted to fall in LOVE this beautiful app. I am / was entranced by its didn’t because it’s sleek and stunning graphics and I hoped to instill it into my nightly routine, and potentially beyond! Unfortunately it’s just not as easy to use as I need it to be in terms of figuring out the functionality, options and settings. Not visually intuitive, so I looked for some documentation to help me learn it. Within the app, I couldn’t find any guidance / support to teach me where things are (I do have experience using a lot of apps, so I did look around in the usual spots to try to find any help for users- no dice). Is it just me? It is a stunningly beautiful app, with top notch audio and visuals. However I found it really lacking in the department of actual intuitive usability. Maybe I’m missing something. But this is my experience with it. Clearly others can figure it out, but I didnt, and I gave up.

Great sounds, not so great pricing. This app is actually really great, which is why it’s so frustrating that it’s so expensive. For me, the only time I use it is for sleep and when I’m getting ready, so I can’t justify spending the money either each month or for the lifetime unfortunately. Such a bummer because I would otherwise highly recommend this app, I’ve honestly slept through the night sooo much better since I’ve been using this app the past 4 nights. And there’s something about the Focus sounds that help keep me from getting distracted while getting ready for work. I will be sad to see it go! If the cost doesn’t make you flinch, then definitely get this app, you won’t regret it!

Anxious Musician Finds Relief!. With everything going on in the world today, I’m too distracted to listen to podcasts and have always been unable to focus if music is on because I’m too enraptured in the music composition itself. Needless to say, I certainly can’t tune into the news and television just sounds like junk. Endel is a Godsend. The sounds and rhythms chosen for each mood state are impeccable. They genuinely give whatever state of mind I’m trying to achieve an instant boost. I’m confident that the Endel team must be using science and algorithms to understand how to give the brain exactly what you’re looking for. This is one of those applications that makes you realize you’re living in an incredibly innovative world - take advantage of it!

Cool idea... doesn’t deliver. On paper this app is a rapturously good idea I was ready to pay for. After my week trial I was still intrigued so I paid for an additional month. This doesn’t feel like a curated experience worthy of a subscription, it feels like a 4 song album. Beyond that, the insights are utterly meaningless and provide no additional value to my experience. I’ll definitely be looking for a place to download these four tracks so I can put them on repeat myself, but to charge a subscription promising a curated personal service for this just seems... misleading. I wanted to love this app, maybe I’ll check back in a year or two :/

Must have for ADD/ADHD. I initially got this for background noise while working but now it’s one of my most used apps. If you have ADD you know the struggle of hating silence but also finding most music/podcasts to be too distracting or hard to listen to. I used to listen to classical music but this is SO much better - just set it and forget it and it’s so peaceful and pleasant to have in the background. Now I use it to sleep, alarm wake up, chores, my morning/evening commute - I recommended it to my therapist and she loved it so much she is now recommending to her other patients! Can’t thank the developers enough, it’s worth every penny!

Soothing. I am new to the app, so time will tell, but so far I like it enough to subscribe for a year. I like having it on in the background during the day on Relax or Focus, depending on what I am doing. At night the Grimes AI Lullaby soundscape help me get to sleep and I seem to wake feeling more rested. I keep the volume low at night. “Soundscape” is the perfect description. It is not like music, which I sometimes find distracting. The sound just fills the space and becomes part of my background environment. I play it through HomePod speakers. At first, I was bothered by the white on black graphics and thought there should be some color. As I use the app more, I’ve come to appreciate how much the graphics are a visual expression of the sound. It’s the sound that is most important. The graphics could have some color, either by modulating the background, or by introducing color into the line work. But I’m also fine without it now.

Eerie Vibes. I am using an Apple Watch and have health data stored to the extent that I believe there should be an adequately suited soundscape right away. I need to sleep and I saw this ad and thought it would help. However the music made me feel more awake and has eerie vibes. The way the sound waves are visualized when I press the screen in sleep mode seems too active for the sleeping state and the sound produced does not feel intuitive but more randomly generated. Like I could not play the screen like a hand pan if I wanted to, the notes would just change and I’d be lost. Read some other reviews. Honestly feels like a soundscape to me but I’m just playing devils advocate and a healthy skeptic. Trying something different now, thank you for the opportunity but I felt mislead and shall take my journey for sleep elsewhere. Maybe pull a safe last resort which I do not want to have to do... to help me fall asleep 😴 Best of luck, you seem like a cool, genuine dude. ✌️

Highly skeptical, made me a believer. I am highly skeptical of anything making claims like this app does, but I tried it and I’m actually blown away to the point where I HAD to leave a review, which I almost never do. I thought best case scenario it may help with my sleep but I was sure it would be minimal or the difference wouldn’t be noticeable, but both me and my girl have used it falling asleep for a couple nights in a row now, and all I can say is wow. Fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, wake up feeling GREAT, and the difference we have felt is truly measurable and more than noticeable, it’s profound. Well done

Not worth the price, and grimes music was the best part.... I got this initially because I’ve always wanted an atmospheric album by grimes, and I wanted to try a new ai music generator since I’d found another one, Mubert, interesting. I like the app well enough, but the trial is waaaaaay too short, I don’t mind paying for content, but the price level for somthing like this is absurd. It doesn’t matter that it’s algorithm based, it’s still a soundscape app at the end of the day. You can’t charge more than people are willing to pay. This thing costs nearly as much as an overpriced meditation app for christssake.... and there’s very little content. On top of that, you took out the grimes music dec 10. I stopped using before that date because if this doesn’t have her music I’m not interested. Plain and simple. Put it back and give a longer trial or reduce the price, give a discount to somebody coming back to the app, SOMTHING, and I’d be willing to try it again.

Terrifyingly effective. I consider myself an insomniac. Insomnia basically ruined my early adult life. This app, WOW!!! I have used it several times for sleep and have not known what hit me!!!! I am shocked by how effective it has been as getting me to sleep. It JUST WORKS!!! There are other apps out there that try to do what this has done, such as Mesmerize, but that one gets too intense. This app, by all accounts, shouldn’t work so well, it’s a black screen with some music and images. BUT IT KNOCKS ME OUT!!!! I’m really thankful to these creators for their research and idea, it’s bold to be so simplistic, how DOES this manage to knock me dead every night?!?!! Wow!!!

Perfect except the volume.. I love it, I use the app all the time throughout parts of my day. Mostly to sleep or nap though. Sends me straight out and I feel like I sleep deeper. If that’s just in my head, who cares, it works. Just one complaint, and it’s enough that I nearly deleted the app yesterday. The VOLUME FLUCTUATIONS. A lot of the time I wake up and the volume is so low I can’t hear it even though I set it higher. But yesterday, I needed a nap, set it to the power nap function, added a timer, put it on my nightstand. Just as I was drifting off the volume went up to 100% and nearly scared me to death. I clicked it back down to normal, tried to fall asleep and about 2 minute later it turned the volume up all the way. Soothing sound isn’t so soothing when it’s being screamed into your face. Even after pausing it the music came back on. I had to fully quit the app to make it stop. PLEASE fix it or at least have fluctuating volume be an option.

Very Interesting App. I have to say I really like the app after a few days and will continue through the trial and update this review if needed. I will not pay $50 a year to use this app and I probably won’t take advantage of the 50% off the first year only to have to pay another $50 again in 12 months. According to the apps page in the store, you can purchase a lifetime subscription. I don’t see that option within the app. I do very little subscriptions and certainly will not for this kind of app at the price point. Having said all of that, it’s a well developed app and still 5 stars. I just won’t get $50 in value in a subscription.

Please make AI Lullaby permanent!. I have tried so many ambient sound apps, albums, radio stations, but never found any that have the ethereal and surreal quality I’d been craving. I’m a huge Grimes fan and was interested to see what an ambient collab would be like and I feel like I finally found the ethereal ambient sound! Happily subscribed to the app but disappointed that AI lullaby is only available for a limited time. Please keep it available on the app! I’d buy a lifetime subscription if that were the case. That aside, this is certainly the most well designed user experience I’ve come across in a meditation/sleep app. The concept of live mixing that matches your heart rate and surroundings? So innovative. I also LOVE the Apple Watch companion mode.

Creative app with some over-design issues. I enjoy endel, particularly the Deeper Focus program by Richie Hawton. It seems Endel will evolve this app further. I sincerely hope They improve the adjustability of all features but none so urgently as the alarm. I find the wake up feature is quite nice but the fall asleep mode is very irritating and does not seem to be promoting good rest, I’m writing this review after a failed attempt to fall asleep to these new age massage room themes in the alarm function. Why you wouldn’t be able to have a couple sliders to the effect the result seems like a big missed opportunity for something as personal as sleep preferences. When the alarm and sleep modes are improved (which should be easy enough) the app value will improve by ten fold. Still Rating 4 stars as I hope the team can take this constructive feedback and implement a patch. 💤🙏🏼

absolutely love .. i’m obsessed. for somebody with GAD i love this app so much i’m kind of scared of them ever deleting it or something lol. i use it to sleep, and i’ve never been one to fall asleep to sounds. i use it when i’m going somewhere. like yesterday i was late leaving the house for an appt and instead of getting really stressed out and trying to zoom there i just played “move” and i was only 2 mins late and was relaxed the whole ride. i found this on an instagram ad and times like this make me realize how good social media can be, because they showed it to the right person and i’m grateful. the designs you watch while listening are insanely relaxing. my manager liked it too and i will probably tell everybody i know about this. 5 stars ⭐️

honestly perfect. This is literally the only background music I’ve ever been able to stand for long periods of time and I can’t even begin to describe how much I appreciate it. I have ADHD and a boatload of anxiety and traditional white noise stresses me out to no end (as does closely repeating sounds), but there’s just enough variation in Endel’s tracks that I don’t feel like ripping my hair out after several hours. I have a nice pair of Bose headphones that I wear the majority of my work day (remote desk job) and once I switch on noise cancelling and start playing either Relax or Sleep, I find I am so much more relaxed and productive. My job requires a lot of intense focus and attention to detail so I credit a lot of my improved concentration to this app. The line animation is also beautiful and such a lovely visual distraction when I need one. My cat likes to lay on my desk while I work and I often have my iPad propped up with the app open and she is entranced by the moving lines. Sometimes she’ll bat at it but she mostly just stares until she falls asleep. I really cannot thank the developers enough for this app. The closest thing I’ve ever come to with successful background music is Sigur Ros songs, which are absolutely beautiful but I get sick of listening to them on repeat all day. I’ve yet to get sick of Endel and I hope it always stays that way.

I think this is priced so it’s embarrassing to admit it doesn’t really work.. I looked at the in app purchase listing before I downloaded the app. It looked like it might be reasonable because context was missing. $119 a year?! I ended up starting the 7 day free trial, going into iCloud subscription settings and changing it to $2.99 a month. I tried it for 3 days and can honestly say it does less than classical music does. (For me) The fact is that even placebo works about 1/4 of the time so I guess if it’s worth it to you. I found the extreme focus droning kind of like being on an ancient ship as a slave rowing to the beat of a slave masters drum. So if you are used to forced labor, it might work for you. For me, it got annoying very quickly. The UI seems like it doesn’t REALLY care if you are using the correct soundscape for your goal. I found myself trying out the different icons, then realizing that you can switch sounds from sleep, to focus, to calm all from the same starting point without realizing you’ve left the one trying to help you accomplish something. That seems like even the creators know it doesn’t really matter. If you like droning music and have money to spend you might like it. If you have to think to focus instead of turning off your brain, I would go with some Boccherini, Vivaldi, or maybe Dvorak.

Helpful for those of us with ADHD!. I highly recommend this app! The visuals are interesting and soothing without being too distracting. Extremely helpful for working from home for those of us that need some sort of background buzz to stay focused on the task at hand. It also helps with task switching. Sometimes I open this app for just a few minutes when I find myself in a destructive kind of hyperfocus. It’s also nice for unwinding at the end of the day after watching tv. I don’t tend to use it for sleeping because I switch to a white noise app that makes rain sounds. I actually prefer it this way because I just want to associate Endel with work and finding focus throughout the day. If you can, I recommend connecting your device to a monitor or a tv (or use Apple TV) to use this app. It helps fill the room with the environment. That being said, I used to use this on my phone and that worked great too! Big thank you to the app developers for creating this app! To anyone reading this, don’t hesitate to try it out.

Pretty great but overpromises a bit. Does this seem legit and science-backed? Sure! Does it claim to give recommendations based on your current state? Yep. Does it ever know my current state? Not even close. You would think that with all the wearable devices I have (Apple watch and Oura ring) that it would have some idea I was awake but it never does. I’ve had the app for a few months and even after following the instructions to use the “bedtime” function and the alarm on my phone, when I get up at 4:30 every day, it suggests the Sleep and Alarm playlists. This doesn’t actually affect much of anything because I still listen to what I want but this lack of functionality bugs me. It’s a glaring mistake every single morning when I open the app and kind of like being told I shouldn’t be up yet. Not a big deal but not a happy experience either. With all of that being said, I can listen to the playlists for literal hours and be so happy I did. I especially love the Workout playlist. It’s so nice to just have focus while I workout without being distracted by lyrics or songs I don’t like. And Deeper Focus is amazing!!! Despite the app never making good suggestions first thing in the morning, I love it. Worth the money and would love it more if it did all the things they say it will. Hopefully it will some day!

Very stylish but overpriced app. Don’t get me wrong. App is great, really. I loved trial period of using it. However I think it’s a bit overpriced for alpha-gamma-.... whatever type of random generated sounds, that you can download all over an internet free of charge. I know it won’t be randomly generated with AI, deep learning etc... But, common, at the end of the day if I have tons of these samples downloaded, I barely could recognize any of them being repeated once in 1-2 months. That is just certain frequency level noise, that doesn’t make much different whether it was generated by this AI or by random frequency tone generator for free. Other than that the app is beautiful, well designed UI and UX is very intuitive and easy to use. If price is not your main concern than this is probably the best app in this field.

Game changer. After using this app for several months with my new AirPod Pro (gen two) traveling and getting quality rest is no longer a thing. I find I sleep better, Dream more vividly and wake feeling refreshed and ready to rock my day. About mid day I’ll take a Power Nap to push me through the rest of my day and I feel full recharged. I even use it to help my ADHD brain focus on tasks at hand. The only thing I have not tried to use this app with is for creativity! I have even recommended that Apple become partners with this company the same day that I finally broke down and purchased the upgraded membership. I am looking forward to exploring the new brain healing and restoring properties of this app. Some days I just feel like I’m tuning an instrument as if my brain was a guitar or piano and other days my brain finds so much clarity in the directions I am choosing in life while other days the ear worm in my head just keeps me focused on the task at hand. As long as they keep improving this app, this maybe a lifelong relationship!!!

My most used app.. I am an avid Endel user for the previous 3 years and I can’t recommend it enough. I am someone who constantly needs to be listening to something, music/ambiance playlists; Endel really fits the bill. The team constantly adds new features and loops, and it’s a dynamic experience with gorgeous UI. I’ve wanted to leave a review for the past year or so because I honestly believe this app has improved my life. They do a wonderful job at keeping this app simply and beautifully built with improvements. I use the Sleep soundscape every night, the way the sleep loop begins really pulls into the mindset of rest. I now use it when I travel on the plane and it will put me to sleep. I’ve never been able to sleep on planes prior. My favorite new addition is the natures elements. Being able to build/combine multiple sounds into an organic atmosphere helps build a setting you want in your home. It’s the only app (in my opinion) that has nature loops that sound genuine. I listen to the wiggly wisdom often, but the AI lullaby may be my favorite for reading or meditating. There’s so many new sounds to choose, but these four are my personal favorites. Again, I cannot recommend this app enough for someone who enjoys sound. Thank you Endel for a phenomenal app that keeps on giving.

This App is Epic!!!. I woke up, at 3:50 am, and made my daily aspirations; then I opened the Endel app. The lush and melodious, dynamic sounds this app provides coupled with conscious respiration kept me grounded and tranquil, all morning. I was out of the bed by 4:20 am and ready to have some tea meditation. I slowly began to become more lucid to the sounds as they morphed into the twilight phase: the natural sound of an owl blended beautifully with the acoustics and other melodies woven into the featured hibernation sound track. Later in the morning, during walking meditation, the sounds changed based upon the pace of my steps, and it put me in a Flow state. This is definitely one of the best apps you can have on a smart phone. Thank you Endel team for an amazing experience accessible 24/7 via my iPhone. 😊

Bloated. Endel is ruined by an increasingly bloated UI that is antithetical to the products intended mission. Good products generally have good design, and if well executed this should generally lead to success! Endel’s product managers and higher ups don’t seem to have the confidence to focus on the long term quality of the app, letting their team implement the best possible design and allowing it to speak for itself and build strong customer relationships over time. Instead they’re clearly data obsessed and highly reactionary. Incessant promotional banners stop you from using the app to do what you’ve paid for it to do, discouraging natural discovery and engagement with new features. User interface seems driven by quantitative analysis and is completely changed each time the user has opportunity to become used to it. The features aren’t well marketed and this bleeds through onto their design and implementation, making it difficult to understand what it’s possible to do in the app, how to do it, and why any of it is worth using. I may as well just save recordings of the soundscapes I like and save them to my iTunes library - that would be far better of an experience at this stage 😒 Death by analysis. This is a bloated and schizophrenic product that is an absolute chore to use.

New update. Used app every night to sleep, averaging 2000 minutes a week. Recent update won’t let you set a smart alarm and constantly freezers. What was a great free app is now locked behind a pay wall. Did recommend but now am unsure.

Endel has become my one and only. I have been in love with endel for two whole years now, this is a love that will never die. Quelling the urge to bring Endel in as a topic of conversation with friends, family and strangers is quite difficult for me – since I strongly believe Endel should be known by all. Dear Endel, I am in my early twenties and have witnessed my younger sibling experience a childhood entirely different to mine. He didn't have to memorise phone numbers, he won't have to write his essays this year by hand. The culture of penmanship has changed to an aesthetic employed less and less...he never learnt how to write in cursive, I was never taught spencerian. We let technology take us over and the general population was not given a choice. At this very moment, I am reflecting on how this lack of choice ties to the Endel Manifesto. Despite its delights, the level technological progress seems to be overplayed – rationality and reason told us that it makes our lives easier and better but it just seems to be making it a whole lot different. Different, sheltered, and panicked. Being in constant contact without presence is unnatural, how can we evolve to cope with this? The young hate the old – I am still young, but old enough to have escaped hatred based on ideology. We fail to realise that we are all the same, we all want what is best for the world. The mass hysteria is too massive – it saddens me. We look at horror across the globe at cultures we ping as oppressive, but fail to think that perhaps they look at horror towards how we discard our elderly. Out of sight out of mind I suppose. I am nearing the end of my undergraduate degree in economics here in Australia. I truly adore Endel and what it stands for. Please let me know if you are in need of an employee – I will devote blood, sweat, and tears of glee.

Experience Peace and Productivity with Endel. I have been using Endel for quite a while, and I am delighted with the soundscapes that it provides me with. They have been very helpful for me to stay focused and relaxed in so many places, like in the gym, at work, and even at home. I appreciate the user-friendly interface that makes the app easy to use. I'd like to recommend a shortcut menu to make mood/soundscape selection easier for those more familiar with the options. All in all, I highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a peaceful way to reduce stress and increase productivity.

Deluding descriptions.. I don’t get in what way this is “personalised”. The app claims that it uses weather, timezone (location), and heartbeat rate. Well, don’t a lot of people have the same data then, except for the heartbeat rate? I’m personally not wearing my Apple Watch so it’s more like I’m listening to the same thing that people in my area are listening to. This might have absolutely nothing to do with individuals for all we know, because there is no way to tell. It might not even be an ‘AI’. Let’s be clear, an algorithmic music generation does not require an AI behind it. The tunes sound good and all but there are tones of apps that do this. This app in particular failed to deliver/convince what it says it does but seemingly get Apple’s recommendations because a famous artist apparently worked on it.

Effective. Definitely feel an effect with the focus

Price. Thank you for your response advising you are willing to offer a 50% discount for new users; however, $200 for a lifetime subscription ($400 full price) is absolute insanity considering I’m a student and mainly want to use this app to study. This is especially the case given I can search calming music for free. I appreciate a lot of work and research has gone into the app development and personalisation software, but surely you could prioritise making the app accessible to a larger audience for an affordable price before spending your budget on big name celebrity collaborations? I’m not even inclined nor tempted to invest in your short term subscription options for the price currently offered while the app is, according to you, still in it’s early development stages.

Good app. Good app but poor app privacy. Unnecessary data collection for a relaxing app

Well Done! 🔊🤟. Sound isn’t just something we hear . It’s a vibrancy and a frequency with different harmonies and tones … Having being a Relaxation Therapist for 33 years , I’ve seen how sounds can heal and expand your mind , body and soul. As we move further into a new of living, sounds and there frequency’s will continue to allow us to embrace the present with love . Every Acoustically built building or structure is a great place for sound therapy….. learning to disconnect from your “mind” Self and into your present self and just BE . Thanks for Creating an App that can truly help “ The Great Human Suffering “. … As I see so many stressed out humans overwhelmed and empty , if they can be reminded to listen to music that they like or a short guided meditation or rain , thunderstorms or the sound of waves at the beach as it creates such healing . to go within and find the deep connectedness to the divine light …

Focus without the distraction. .. it seems to integrate all the sounds about me in my self to others and world. I feel, it’s just me and what’s in front of me, of my attention, without feeling distractions of words, repetitious patterns.

I can’t cancel it. I just want to try, then it automatically subscribed, and it can’t be canceled! What the hell!

It’s good, but not worth the price. Honestly, I was expecting much more for the price tag. It’s worth maybe $10? Price the app appropriately and reach more people. The content is good, however; for the relatively small amount of content (which is repetitive) provided by this app it is WILDLY overpriced.

Wildly over priced. I can’t quite figure out how this app is so expensive. I thought it was ok but the music gets very repetitive and has an almost infuriating to use UI. Edit: in response to the developer: $10 per month is not justifiable. You say it’s based on scientifically proven theories; which theories are applicable to the app? Please cite a peer reviewed study as it seems like you’re using dubious claims to place a super premium price on your app. Edit2: thank you for a link about circadian rhythms. I’m not sure why you sent it, as my queries were around your spurious claims that your app uses scientifically proven theories to work.... something the link fails to provide. Can you please provide peer reviewed journals on the effectiveness of your “AI” or similar soundscapes? That would be interesting reading.

Not worth paying for this.. Not effective visual and practice and music for this as baby is playing. Stupidity Thank you for your response. not interested. I paid $9 AUD wasted. Apple company won’t refund

It’s legit. Yeah so it works and kinda works well. Admittedly i was surprised as I thought it might just be a gimmick. The trick is to find what works for you with the tracks and options the app has to offer, so don’t be discouraged if there “work” track doesn’t work for you it might be the “calm” track that actually does as was the case for me. Hope this review helps folk with adhd struggling out there.

Incredible. Love.. I love that everything feels new and special. It's extra exciting when there's a new feature or soundscape to explore! The experience feels personal and unique. So refreshing. I love watching this app evolve and transform. Thank you, Endel team!

Amazing! Best sound track ever.. Try it for free. You will use it rest of your life.

Do not buy this app. Do not buy this app, it doesn’t tell you That if you buy a subscription, it’s 91 dollars a month. Absolute trash if a app

Subscription required. There’s no point to this app unless you have a subscription. You can’t even browse the app to see anything. You must subscribe.

I’m sure it’s great when it doesn’t crash. I’m using the paid version of this app but unfortunately can’t see any value, as every time I try to access the paid area (my guide) the app crashes. I’ve been in touch via support but haven’t heard back, so looks like I’ve wasted my $10. Won’t be continuing my subscription.

Shifts me into the ZONE!. There’s so much distraction in the workplace and I’ve been under heightened stress at present and not sleeping enough. One week in and I’m genuinely astounded at how much I can maintain momentum and increase my output with earbuds in, Endel on in a bustling office. Undeniable results for me 🙏🏼 THANK YOU!

Would give it 0 stars. Caution this app automatically signs you up to a 7 day trial. I tried exiting it and removing the subscription but have still been charged.

Full screen. App is awesome, soon as I play sleep I automatically relax. Would love it if I could watch the visualisations play out in full screen?

Update more songs. Hope to add more songs, it's a bit boring always the hear same things

Just shows how sad the world is. I’ve been going through a really rough spot and I needed to calm my self down badly so I try to find a good app. I found this and thought it was really good until I found out I NEED TO PAY A WILDLY OVERPRICED SUBSCRIPTION TO HAVE GOOD WELL-BEING. WOW.... JUST WOW. YOUR MAKING PEOPLE PAY OVERPRICED AMOUNTS OF MONEY JUST SO THEY CAN HAVE A GOOD WELL-BEING??????? This just shows how sad our world is..... this app isn’t making people feel good it’s making them sadder. Imagine someone going through a financial crisis and needed a way to cool down so downloaded this app, then was forced into a overpriced subscription that they couldn’t pay for... SHAME JUST SHAME ON YOU. I personally rate this app MINUS FIFTY MILLION STARS

This app is amazing. I’m really excited for the future of music based on my experience of this app. Really useful and interesting ❤️

Please update the sleep. I love the app. So many updates, but the sleep has not changed in over a year. I’d love another sleep option please. 🙏

Savarna Nizich. 10 hour sleep first night using this app 🙌🏼

Great app. Have added it to Mac & iphone. Its amazing how by elucidating one of the senses, being sound, that it totally soothes ones mood and focus. Great product, but please give us some more sound options in the freemium. Thanks!

Be careful, they taking money without a subscription. I wanted to try this app but i made sure to remove the trial before the period ends but they still took my money (80AUD) from my account. I tried to contact the business few times but i did not receive any response from them. Very poor customer service and scam. Be careful when you trying this app.

Drops out on HomePods. Great sounds but playing this on a HomePod has the sounds crackling and constantly dropping in and out. As a comparison, we have not experienced any other app or music EVER performing in this manner. With this constant on/off behaviour the app is anything but relaxing.

Expensive….for what exactly?. You removed my review because it didn’t support your criteria for a negative review? Mention today’s problems in the world and how apps like this could help those who really need it but instead are required to fork out money that most don’t have. Good job.

Annoying set-up. Downloaded and decided to try the 7 day trial but it still took the $10 anyway?! Made sure to click the right option and everything and it still took the payment. Not super happy about that.

So Good!. My focus level goes up by 50% when working while listening to this app! Also help my sleep! Super !

AWESOME. So far after about a week of using I feel more productive and that time doesn’t feel it goes fast now. I’ve been more productive and eager to get things done now. Thank Endel people. Also like the Endel people. Just leave as a background sound and let the Endel people do the rest.

Instantly downloaded. I don’t download apps usually, however after a long stressful week at work, I came across this app on Facebook, I instantly was drawn to it and downloaded straight away. The sound is just so soothing, I tried the focus sound and watched the shapes in front of me and I literally felt my eyes start to sharpen and my brain woke up - if that makes sense. Not sure if it is due to lack of sleep or being tired and stressed but I’m going to give it a week and see how I go.

Thank you Endel!. I've tried many apps to help me stay focused on my work, but none of them compare to Endel! The way it combines the timer, calming sounds, and meditation is unlike anything I've used before. This is my go-to tool for work, which inspiring me to be more productive and find inner peace.

Machine Approved. This app has machine approval.

Worth it 100%!. Super effective! I have only been using this for two days/nights, and as someone with ADHD (severe - very hard to focus!) and who is musical by nature, this is the perfect background noise for me! I can’t stand being in silence when I need to focus, and usually get distracted sooner or later if I am playing music, but Endel has transformed my thinking with its smart way of tracking my ups and downs - it is definitely worth a try, very clever!

I really like it but. I really like this and do find there is a difference but when you’re listening to it a lot, it’s just the same thing over and over. At some point where I focus on it, it’s starts to irritate me and I shut it out. Maybe that’s the point. 🤷‍♀️ More variation would probably keep me using it.

Poor customer feedback. I spent $80 on an annual subscription. Yet after an update my app is stuck in preview mode. I contacted customer support three times and never heard back. And the window of time has passed to get a refund from Apple.

Fitbit Integration would be great. Liking it so far, a Fitbit data integration would be great as not everyone has an Apple Watch.

Great app - needs one adjustment. Loving the app, haven’t concentrated like this in years. However, one pretty big annoyance atm is the inability to adjust the volume on the Apple Watch app for the iPhone. The only workaround I’ve found is actually going into music, opening a music app, opening a song, changing the volume from there and then switching back to the app, pretty annoying. Otherwise, nice app!

So relaxing. Even though some options are blocked by premium, it felt so peacful and soothing to listen to.

A staple!. Endel has definitely become a staple app. This is my second year subscription and I can say that it’s the most effective and enjoyable lifestyle app I’ve ever used. Even my old restless dog responds to it like magic. Cannot tell you how many times endel has helped me! It’s always beautiful, it’s always effective. Thanks so much to the people at Endel. Your work is life changing and that’s no exaggeration!

Amazing. Amazing. I could write an essay about how this app should be used in clinical studies to establish efficacy, (degree, further research directions etc) in the treatment of circadian rhythm sleep disorders. Though as I’m short on time, all I’ll say now is: CRSD’s despite being widely acknowledged as a serious medical problem, possibly the causative factor in basically any number of mental and/or physical health conditions: It is very rarely acknowledged, let alone diagnosed nor treated as such.. “Sleep hygiene improvement”. Nice idea. But generally when patients are provided with a treatment plan, it comes with recommendations including utilities to assist. This very well could lead to a paradigm shift in recognition and treatment of CRSD’s. Happy to hear it won app of the year, deserved it. PS: Reason I was led to write review: repeatedly told me “Smart alarm, didn’t work for some reason, contact Endel”. Amazing work to all involved, and thank you.

Beyond simple sounds. These sounds are complex and rich - they just feel balanced, they aren’t distracting but they are immersive.

Was good before until some stuff happened. App is good except for the free trial of 7 days is a lie and you pay the annual price immediately, and the app is always crashing on launch after first open (uninstalled+reinstalled as well). On an iPhone 12 pro max.

Hard to use. You can’t set an alarm and a count down at same time. Once you set the alarm, you can touch nowhere else but’ cancel’. That’s stupid. Also once you set the count down. The next time to touch the clock sign, is to stop the count down. But the clock sign is the only way to set the alarm. That’s way too stupid,I’m speechless. I’m not saying the sound doesn’t work, I’m just saying devs really need to improve the UI

I Love this app. I definitely recommend this app to anyone who is looking for high quality sounds that will help you relax and sleep.

Best Mindfullness App. i’m constantly focused or relaxing w this app!!

Charged me right away instead of a free trial. I toggled on the “enable free trial” option when selecting my subscription, yet was still charged right away. Didn’t even get to find out if the app is worth the money before having to pay for it. Bad design and a disappointing user experience. Cancelled my subscription right away and am now waiting to hear back regarding getting a refund.

Dishonest pricing info. The app is good, but as a matter of principle I make sure my subscriptions do not automatically renew so I can keep on top of my finances. So I tried the free one week trial and then one day after it ends I decide I’ll pay the $35 for one year, except it’s no longer $35, it’s now $70. Nowhere was this communicated that $35 was a limited time offer. Sorry but $70 is a lot, and you didn’t communicate that this would be the price if I didn’t automatically renew after the one week trial.

Lots of music very similar to this already exists. If you have Apple Music, just listen to the Pure Ambient playlist which has lots of music like this. The Sleep songs weren’t really that relaxing, ASMR works better and you can get that for free on YouTube. Also, why are so many apps requiring monthly or yearly subscriptions? No one likes them. I’d rather pay a single price for an app.

Nice music, but way too expensive. This app produces some relaxing repetitive algorithmically generated music. I enjoyed using it but didn’t keep the subscription because it is just too expensive for what it is. Once the algorithm is set in motion the company really isn’t doing anything to produce new content so it’s not clear to me how they justify the price. The interface design is stylish, but it’s not really clear how the music or screen respond to inputs. Any “interaction” gets boring pretty quick. If this was $2 a month maybe but they are charging around the same as the major streaming platforms!

Only app worth paying for. I have played countless hours of sounds that have helped me through my daily life. They do actually help you focus on different practices for long periods of time. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to achieve better results.

Not neurodivergent friendly. The black and white with the moving graphics is too much/hard on the eyes. It’s also not easy to navigate and is not intuitive. Spent a few minutes trying to figure it out but found it frustrating. Deleted it.

I can sleep again 7+ straight hours. Ive never written a review anywhere online, but this deserves it. After suffering from anxiety related insomnia for 2 years and not sleeping for more then 2-3 hours i can truly say this app has changed my life! I tried multiple “sleeping apps” that are just bull. Even my partner noticed shes sleeping better and tells me to turn it on at night. Stop reading the reviews and just download it. It has the sleep mode available for free. Give it a few nights to get used to (took me 4+days) on low low volume, you’ll hear it trust me. Something truly different then other white-noise apps. Thank you Endel for your amazing work! And please try and keep the sleeping part free for people that suffer with sleep issue 🙏 I myself will be buying the lifetime subscription.

Recommendation. Add a option to cast the sound to speakers

Very pretty, poor UI. Got that app after seeing an advert for it on social media. Right off the bat, the cool animations shown in the advert don't appear to exist in the app. Unless they are hidden behind some of its many unintuitive features. Icons don't represent anything remotely related to what they link to, and it takes so long for anything to change after tapping on one that I often wonder whether anything actually happened... And the few features that actually let you adapt what is going on only do so in an extremely limited capacity: want to have the sound of rain AND of a crackling fire? Nope, they are in non-adjacent squares and therefore can't cohabitate. All these design choices seem to indicate the app was created with an emphasis on aesthetics over functionality or ease of use. Which is unfortunate for any app, but possibly even more so for a purely sound-based app that isn't meant to be looked at beyond setting it up.

hi-fi beats to relax/study to. Fantastic app. Really helps me regain control over my ADHD whether I’m at work or trying to sleep. I wish there were more soundscapes to choose from, and that features such as “smart alarm” were available for more than just sleep soundscapes. But each soundscape sounds different throughout the day, so you still get quite a bit of variety.

Must give the app a chance!. As you open this app to sign up it truly Absorbs in the atmosphere of calming and relaxing sounds, Would definitely recommend to anyone especially artists trying to overcome moments of writers block or ideas with them all forms of creation! Great job on the app !:)

You need a save soundscape button. Very frustrated I can’t save the soundscapes I like. A lot of the sounds I find very meh but there have been a couple I absolutely loved and wished I could save to listen to daily. I accidentally pressed ‘reframe soundscape’ when looking for a save feature and accidentally recalibrated the sounds to something I hated. This seems like such a simple feature, why isn’t it on the app?

Multiple subscription options in apple store plan list. Multiple entries of the same price and conflicting prices on the ios app store plan list. the fact that the same price is repeated multiple times

I found a issue. I have tried your app for a few nights now. I get to sleep fast but the problem I encountered is this. If a wake up at 4am or 5am it doesn’t help me get back to sleep. At that time the app is just playing a white noise background which doesn’t work for me to fall asleep listening to. I could not figure out any way to switch the app back to the go to sleep sounds. As well I find the app navigation confusing and difficult to find menus and settings.

Fraudulent. Be watchful. Fraudulently charged subscription.

Charged before due date. Never intended to buy the subscription but I was charged $67, and for nothing, apple says you cannot access your subscription because you asked for a refund. This does not make any sense. The app says to buy a new subscription and I wasted my $67. Endel is useless and greedy.

Expensive for what it is. It’s well-designed and cool. The app is speedy and there’s no bugs… but it’s a bit too expensive. It’s basically a glorified YouTube/Spotify chill out playlist.

Not worth the money. Not worth the money. Seems like the same types of sounds for each task. Don’t bother buying it. The free version is all you need to figure out what it does.

What the?. I downloaded this, opened it and it was a black screen. After a few minutes of randomly tapping at the screen it started playing sounds and I couldn’t turn it off except by closing the app.

Hard no because of privacy concerns. Big privacy concerns with sharing heart rate and location + “third party advertising” stated in App Store privacy report.

Nice. I use my tv as a speaker so it would be great if it was compatible with chromecast. Also if it had an alarm function that could play when I wake up.

Great app but. A very helpful app for focus and relaxing. I’ve been using it as a companion for work, study and even for meditating. It’s just quite expensive for what it is. O

This is the best app. This is the best app for relaxation - or anything, really. It’ll have you in a trance and blissed out all day and evening. I needed this. Thank you so much 😌🧡🙏

Review. Water to wine... Congratulations!

Free trial. Kind of threw me off with the “7 day free trial” as soon as I signed up. I get it that you folks gotta make money though. 🤷🏻‍♀️

A little pricey. Love this app! The concept is amazing, the sounds are fantastic. But it’s a little pricey for my liking.

Fix audio stuttering. The audio stuttering really ruins the relaxing experience. I’m guessing this occurs in sleep mode where users are layering on additional samples and you are exceeding your sample buffer. Suprisingly, it doesn’t take a lot of touches to overrun your buffer, and this is on an iPad Pro fresh from a reboot! I’d check your telemetrics for memory leaks (that’s happened to me before) or put some kind of polyphony limiter on your sample playback, though I dare say if you have to do that for such a simple music app you’re not using the right audio playback library! Based on performance this feels like it’s a cross-compiled app and not a native one. Might be something worth looking into, devs.

Wakes you up in the night. I loved this app and used it for sleep on a regular basis, until one night the Sleep mode started playing loud, chiming music- basically an alarm- about an hour after sleeping. The same thing happened the next night I used it. Did someone working there sabotage the Sleep mode? Endel says they’ve fixed this but I don’t trust their app anymore. I could no longer go to sleep listening to Endel without expecting this might happen. They should have responded publicly to explain such a huge issue as their Sleep mode playing alarm sounds in the night. Instead they didn’t answer publicly to any comments and quietly took a few days to update it, providing no explanation how that could happen.

I love it but.... I love this app but as someone who can't afford it it's very hard to enjoy everything it has to offer. I don't mind paying for an app but 100 bucks a year is not something I can afford and that makes me sad.

just getting started. had some hiccups with onboarding and subscriptions. also, please allow users to skip the onboarding flow. please stop pesting to share with friends. i don't really want to always see that in the interface.

Helps me concentrate. I came across this application when I was sent home to work at the beginning of the pandemic with two school-aged children often with me in the same room. I do a lot of writing and analysis with my job, but I also have ADHD which makes it difficult for me to concentrate with distractions around. This app, combined with noise-cancelling headphones, continues to help me today with focusing on work when I need to. I truly find it makes a difference with getting into a space where I am able to concentrate on work. I like that the music doesn’t have lyrics (which I find distracting), nor does the “focus” soundscape make me sleepy. In fact, I barely notice it—it just seems to work. I also think it’s neat how it adjusts depending on weather and my heartbeat. I have also occasionally used the sleep soundscape and its helpful timer when trying to get to sleep as well. I am an annual subscriber and my subscription is coming up for its third renewal shortly, which I will gladly pay for how much it helps me to focus when I just can’t seem to get there on my own.

It works. It’s science.. To my surprise, Endel truly works! I use it for two purposes: 1) Reading Focus: I find that the reading sessions get more like a flow-state and am able to retain information better. Hard to use data, but it feels that way. 2) Sleeping: This is where things get more interesting. I use a number of sleep trackers and usually don’t hit the REM sleep goals on each of them. Enter Endel. My overall sleep quality not only feels better, the trackers also back it up! Wild!

Loving Endel. Where have you been all my stressful life?

Coma in an app. I have problems sleeping through the night and after discovering Endel, I sleep right through and wake up totally rested. A life saver for me.

So far so good. I was trying to work through one of my study books and I couldn’t stop yawning and fidgeting, felt agitated and like I needed food or something. Turned on endel to deep focus and I could feel my brain wake up and I stopped fidgeting and forgot about snacks.

Not compatible?. This app looks really cool but I can’t really see if it is because it does not work. Am I doing something wrong or does the app work? I don’t know but could you please inspect this thank you PS: I’m on iPad mini

Excellent Experience. The design and user experience of this app are superb. I love using it on those days I have trouble getting into the zone; Endel takes me there, and quickly. You'll make your money back in mere minutes with your added productivity.

BEST APP EVER!!!. Can’t get enough of Endel.

Awesome App. Been subscribed to Endel on IPhone for a while. Really happy to see a mac app :)

Super Annoying! I hate it from the first sound. And purchased 1 year subscription by mistake! 😭

Cancelled and still got charged. Wrote to customer service and had no response.

Deceiving. The description says you do not need to pay or use a trial, that you can use it for free. I filled up the questions and sign in and I can't close the page where it asks you to subscribe. I closed the app and reopened it and the entire questions have to be filled up again. The app clearly said there was a free version not a trial, I feel deceived.

Garbage. Not usable at all.

Said “Free 7 Day Trial”… got charged immediately.. Looked for an (x) or any way to get around signing up during set up, but it either wasn’t there or was hidden well enough to mislead. Finally signed up for a monthly, thinking it wouldn’t charge for the first 7 days, and then got a payment receipt. Not sure what it does. Some environments are soothing and easy to play in the background. I can slightly sense how it changes the mood and drive, but only used it for two days sporadically. I still don’t know how to justify the subscription price though… competing with video streaming services 🤔. Maybe there could be tiered packages starting at $2 a month? Don’t know, but one price for all features is a bit much. Not sure if I’ll keep beyond the month, unless i see miracle results I can’t get anywhere else.

Ok, but useless without paying. Some cool sound options and AI music stuff. But after the trail expires you can’t use the app. Pay wall

Favourite app.. I’ve been using endel from the beginning it seems, it has change and evolved for the better it’s so amazing! I use it everyday for sleep and the alarm always works like a charm even with ear buds in. I rave about endel to almost everyone, been meaning to purchase the lifetime version just waiting for a deal haha thank you Endel!! 💗💗🌟🌟

Pay wall. It says that my trial has ended just as I entered the app. There is no free versions. Doesn’t let you use unless you pay a lot.

Could you cancel my lifetime subscription?. Hi, I just set up this app recently. I turned on this today. However, I accidentally press the button For lifetime subscription “claim now for 169 dollar” Could you please cancel it? I tried cancel in my subscription in my appstore purchased button but only appear monthly plan in my account. How can I cancel 169 dollars somthing in my app???

Keeps Me Calm and Focused. I find that my days are pulled into a million directions at once between deadlines, Zoom meetings and responding to the latest email. Endel keeps me stay calm and focused. I can’t explain how it works but I can feel it. Usually soundscapes that are calming are too calming for working at home. Endel gives the right mix and somehow, instead of feeling pulled in a million directions, I feel capable and relaxed. I especially like the timed focus periods for getting through specific deadlines. It saves me from checking the time and getting pulled into the latest fire drill.

Thank you for fixing the sleep function!. I have used the app for years and have a lifetime subscription to the service. I mostly use the sleep setting and have used it every night to help my insomnia. In the recent update (3.4 I believe) they have made a drastic change to the sleep sounds that do not fit the rhythm and are super disrupting. I would do anything to have the original sleep sound back. UPDATE: Thank you so much for fixing this issue! Sleeping like a baby once again!

Costly compared to other apps - need help with parts of it. I love the concept. My phone is filled with meditation and other mental help apps. But when apps like Mindspace, Calm, Aura, etc. are so packed with options and variety, I have to say I was searching to see what I was missing. A very small handful of synthesizer loops with very little variety. No real explanation of the energy graph (it doesn’t match my life and no idea how to change it.) Can someone explain the energy graph? What if it doesn’t match me at that time? Or my environment (like in an office under florescent lights? I listened to them all and they just sounded like synth loops I can get anywhere. I don’t mean to sound cruel or personally attack the developers- I just don’t get this much money for a handful of space synth loops.

Limited personalization. For about a week, this app was really cool. However, the “magic” wore off rather quickly for me. I’m a musician myself and, unfortunately, the “generated soundscapes” here seem to be little more than small sound bites places on top of each other. It’s neat that real-world inputs affect which of these loops are used at any given time, but the fact that each piece is predetermined means that after hours of listening, the same melodies start being repeated. To be fair to the developers, there is no claim that the app composes new music in real-time; however, for the asking price, it’s disappointing that the app is stifled by the static nature of its content.

Auto-subscribes. How to cancel???. I wanted to try Endel, but it automatically starts you on a free 7 day subscription that WILL switch to paid via Apple unless you cancel. I did not give permission for that. Plus, it’s not in my Apple subscription list, so I’m super unclear about whether or not I’m going to be charged. I can’t find anywhere to cancel for sure. This app has created more stress for me than it’s resolved. If I get a charge, I will contest it with my credit card company. It has to be illegal to sign people up for a paid subscription without their permission, and if the 7 days trial will just expire with no charge, then you need to make that clear. It’s stressful not to know if a $50 charge is going to hit my card

|~| Dont wanna put E-mail. I read some of the comments and it sounds like you can put different music on ? I have an app like this but it’s just not the right perfect One. You plz Remove How you have to sign in ty ! Also I rly like the background music 🎼 Lol but bai~ •*~ Oof back Also I found something really creepy Amd I’m really scared 😟 so what it is : So i’m on mobile device and then I didn’t sign in but I noticed the background music I accidentally turn the device off and I changed Da volume and then this status glitch happened it’s really creepy can you please fix that also thank you 🥞 Idk I did pancakes lols •

Pretty great, needs to show timer count. Still wish they would give us a way to roll off low frequencies. I CANT SLEEP IF MY ROOM IS RUMBLING. THE ONLY TIME OUR ANCESTORS WOULD HAVE HEARD THAT MUCH LOW FREQUENCY INFORMATION IS WHEN SOMETHING VERY BIG AND BAD WAS HAPPENING. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT A NORMAL PHYSIOLOGICAL RESPONSE TO BE BASED ON THAT? What make y'all think a low freq rumble is beneficial for anything? Backed by science, but not too much science, y'all! Also very annoying—half the time I open the app, my most used tracks are GONE, and if I pull them up in the library, there's no download or play button. WHY? Also... I still can't sync my 3 devices. When I use the same login info on my Mac, my ID isn't recognized. I bought this thru the App Store. Why can't Endel figure out that the same AppleID = the same user? ...after years. Yes, I use the app regularly. But as this is my most expensive App Store subscription, I expect things to be a little tighter. I'm regularly annoyed by the lack of thought put into the interface and functionality. It's like someone used one of those build-an-app apps, like a Wix or Squarespace for apps!

Love app but.... I really do love this app but the price is too high! 20 something dollars to just listen to sounds on this app I mean I love the one week trial :) but 20 something dollars! That’s just way too much Maybe if it was like 5 or 4 dollars a moth or week I would have this app and pay for it! But I recommend this to everyone when you have problems sleeping focusing or doing yoga or whatever you have problems with but just to let you know it may cost a lot a money also you can airplay on this app so you can put it on your tv or something (this app go’s with apple devices) but that it I wanted to say about this app

Incredible. This app is amazing. I’m not a big app guy but lately I’ve been struggling with getting the sleep I need and some stress so I was looking around for help. Tried a couple things but none worked until I found this. This app is a whole other animal. I love it. I connect my speaker to my phone and play the sleep section while I get ready to try to sleep and since I’ve started using it I have had some incredible sleep. I wake up feeling great. Thank you guys a lot. Keep up the great work and I am excited to see what is to come!

What the heck?. So, the idea of this sounded great but once I downloaded the app there were two huge fails- 1- it signed me up for the free trial and automatically put me on the $29 for a year subscription without offering any other options like monthly prices (I found those when I deleted the app and cancelled the subscription) 2- there is NO explanation of anything there are just buttons and they do things and make certain sounds and pictures but nowhere does anything explain what the app is doing or what any of it means. “Afternoon Energy Peak” was all my app would do and I don’t even know what that meant. Is this music to be played while I am active or sleeping? I have no idea how long the music would go for or how to set it for bedtime it was all very lacking but I can tell that if there was a simple “how to” to start like most apps have, it would probably be a great app So because I had no idea how to use it or what it was doing, and I know I don’t want to pay $29 for THAT, I deleted it almost immediately because I did not want to forget to figure out how it works and then be charged.

Criticism of my favorite app. I use this app on a near constant basis, and Its really revolutionizing major parts of my life and day to day creative and work flow. I just have been dissatisfied with the Apple TV app which has just such limited functionality out of what is offered to Premium Endel users. The Fire TV app is somehow was better and more flushed out. It just throws me off because it seems like Endel was primarily developed and designed for apple products. I hope to see this app improve as I really love it and use it daily. Thank you!

Good idea and hard working team. But annoying after 20 min.. Gotta give credit to the team and the overall execution on this project. But guys, let’s face it - it gets annoying after a while. Listening to an AI (or whatever technology is behind it) putting together randomized sounds is just not it. I don’t see how this can get you more focused state. I literally shut it off each time after about 20 min in. Maybe it’s me, but it sounds like someone just randomly hitting the keys while playing a simple beat in the background. No melody, no rhythm just random sounds. I honestly wanted to enjoy this but it’s just not it.

I was skeptical. I am sort of a cynic and always skeptic of these type of things. I decided to give Endel a shot and I figured I would delete the app in 10 mins like I do with most other apps. Well, I was wrong and I’m happy I was! Endel definitely helped me in several aspects of my life, for example , now I always use the focus setting when I’m reading and made a huge difference as I often drifted away. I also use the relax/wind-down settings when I feel overwhelmed and it makes a difference. I am now a happy paid suscriber

Super usefull. The ability to set a timer for specific things like meditating and deep focus has been very useful for me. Not in love with some of the high pitched bells/sounds in some of the sound scapes- tend to get a bit grating for me and seem a bit too random to be comforting- would like something a bit more soothing rich synth style but im still sorting out the best usage for me so i may find what im looking for. Theres a sound scape in there with ocean sounds that really did the trick but i cant remember which one it was. All said i use the app everyday to get things done and stay on schedule

A pleasantly surprised skeptic. At first, I was like...umm..what? The idea didn’t seem that appealing to me. And the music certainly isn’t Beethoven or anything close to a ‘masterpiece’, but what I truly appreciated from this app is how it really does the job. Working a job at home that requires deep focus, while my partner’s work requires him to be on calls all day, is no easy task. Somehow this app really helps me tune out the distractions and get in a nice, relaxed, productive state. Now I’m a believer. Perfect app to get you in a ‘mood.’ I look forward to this app getting more intelligent by the day in getting us to certain states (focus, relaxation, etc) quicker and quicker.

A total and enthusiastic convert. I enjoyed this from the moment I downloaded it, but was frankly pretty annoyed with myself when I forgot to cancel the trial before being charged for the annual subscription. Over a year later, wow wow wow was I wrong. Endel has become an absolutely integral part of my productivity practice and allows me to get in the zone in ways I haven’t felt since the days of college all-nighters. I’m a fierce advocate and recommend to everyone who’ll stand still long enough to listen to me prattle on about it. Can’t recommend enough!

I LOVE THIS APP. I have never went to the App Store myself to rate an app. But this app really requires attention. I love everything about it and the music is soothing and amazing for any way. The only thing I might want to add is the ability to add songs and not just music. But just songs that suite the mode I enable. And it might be great if I can enable the feature of songs or not. I might want some music sometimes and I might want some songs. Just think about it. Other than that. The app is amazing and I use it everyday. Looking forward to any future updates and keep up the good work!👍

Good app for using but it’s too pricy. I love this app and it helps me sleep but there’s is some features I want to use and can’t because I don’t have enough credit and it costs an insane a lot of money it costs 10 dollars a month and 60 dollars a year this app is good but i just want some of the features to be unlocked so I could use it ill be nice if you unlock some of the features I understand you need money to fund research and sponsorships for the company but still at least unlock some of the features

Scam. The App is advertised as “free trial” for 7 days. BUT they have a workaround that means you have to select a specific button when you download the app otherwise you can charged. Never seen that before? Me either. Every free trial I have tried was free without a special added step that ensures you are responsible and can be charged immediately if you miss their clever little step. You find out about it after you get charged. Oh and they only refund one year subscriptions! Never heard of that before? Me either. If this is how the company sets up their “free trial”—as a bait and switch—then what other dishonest practices do they activate once you are a loyal user? Untrustworthy and suspect. Avoid.

Wonderful App. As a person who works in a high stress environment, Endel has helped me over the past few weeks to recenter and recharge in ways that I haven’t before. It’s just the right nudge I needed to focus more on self care. My only critique is that the app seems to be very “trebile-e” and muffled when playing through my iPhone speakers. Sounds completely different with headphones. I would ask the developers to focus on the same world class sound when listening through your phones speakers (especially when sleeping). Thanks!

I like the research that went into it. However, it’s not for me. I found the sounds annoying. It could just be my natural rhythm that didn’t align. I did the trial and forgot to cancel and billed for the whole year. I didn’t request a refund since I wanted to see if I needed to get used to it. After a few months, I still didn’t find the sounds/app to do it’s intention. Research went into developing the app so I didn’t mind the charge. Also, it kept saying I was using the app through notifications but I never opened the app. So I deleted the app. That way it doesn’t send false information saying the app was being used but it wasn’t.

Avoid a Big Mistake. Do NOT subscribe for more than a month before you decide whether you really want it. Your first response may not be your considered opinion. I initially thought it was pleasantly amusing. Over time, however, it started to annoy me. I wanted to use it as a tool - it wanted to manipulate me. What started as prompts became more intrusive and there seems to be no useful way to moderate its behavior. When trying to do work I really do not appreciate it breaking in and telling me what it’s time for me to do. And I sure have no intention of asking permission or “structuring my time” to its liking. The authors’ vision of how to be helpful is a strong one. Make sure you share it before committing to a year.

Excellent with minor issues. The app itself is excellent and I have been using it for more than a year. The UI has gotten more and more complicated of late making it harder to use. The old UI was a lot cleaner. Also the widget seems to be broken since it just appears blank. It opens the app if you tap on it though. Update: Just updated to iOS 16 and the Lock Screen with Endel playing is hideous. It displays a giant pixelated image. Update: The widget and Lock Screen are both fixed. Thanks for the responsiveness!

Amazing! Definitely worth downloading and buying!!. Definitely worth downloading and buying! Wonderful, calming, hypnotic, tranquil music/white noise and sound they eases your mind. I was sad when the free trial ended because I don’t have a card to pay for a trial, I had to erase the app and then get another trial. I really wish they would allow a free full time version of the app with in app purchases for more selections. I would be happy with just the focus, on the go, chill, meditation and sleep. Please consider this! I love Endel it is so important to me!

The timer stops abruptly instead of fading out. I love this app, especially for the sleep mode. Unfortunately that’s where my issue comes in: the timer stops abruptly, cutting off the sound and waking me up which negates the purpose. There was somebody else who mentioned this in a review back in March of 2019 and the developer said they were aware that the feature to fade out the music was an inconvenience and that it would get fixed in one of the next updates. Sadly over a year has passed and over 20 updates have appeared since then. Otherwise I am so won over, but the lack of a fade feature with the timer may be the deal breaker.

Pricing is a nightmare. I actually liked the app and was going to subscribe, but decided to call it quits when I saw several different “12 month” subscriptions, with no indication of what the different price points carry. When I Googled “Endel price,” I saw price points I was willing to pay ($30/ year or $100 for lifetime), but Endel was trying to charge me $90/year and $250 lifetime. So are they jacking up the price or offering different tiers of subscription, or what? I can’t find out anything. In any case, the app doesn’t seem worth $90/year to substitute what I was already doing with Mozart (for focus) and rainfall audio (for sleep) at no cost. But I wouldn’t give them 1- star for being overpriced—I give them that for having the most convoluted and obscure pricing system I’ve ever seen in an app.

Great for Focussing!. I have undiagnosed ADHD, and have the hardest time focusing on anything work related, but this app does something to my brain where I can shut off all external stimulus and get work done. I should be asking my boss to pay for this app because it boosts my productivity exponentially. I love all the new soundscapes that come out, but I use focus and study the most and I can get a solid two hours of work done with no distractions when listening to the soundscapes in Endel.

One flaw.... I really love this app...to help me concentrate on work, to just chill out and most of all to sleep. For me, this is where the flaw presents itself. I love using the timer to fall asleep to, however; when the timer is done instead of just fading off leaving me in peace and quiet it makes this weird jarring/beeping/clatter noise that ALWAYS wakes me up after I've fallen asleep. Please get rid of that. I don't need to be alerted that the sounds I am using to fall asleep are now over. I already have a lot of trouble sleeping - that's why I use this app. Being woken up abruptly after failing gently asleep is annoying and frustrating. Rating would be 5 stars if it weren't weird ending.

Literally doesn’t do anything discernible. No idea why Apple promoted this thing in the Today panel. I let this thing run in the background, all of the permissions it wants, etc., but it doesn’t play audio at ALL. Tap Play and the button icon switches to Pause for just long enough that you don’t doubt that you pushed it. I also got a notice that my first “insight” report was ready, but when I tapped the notification, it just dumped me on the usual non-functional home screen. I tried to go to Insights manually and just got the message about “keep using Endel,” etc. I suppose the app does do one thing: tapping on the horizontal lines floating across my screen does generate some visual effects, I guess? It’s basically a screensaver otherwise.

Issues with Apple Watch and activity. When I start a scenario and go into the steam room, it’s common for the scenerio to cancel on its own because of moisture on the screen of the apple watch. Also with activity, it seams only the phone determines the beat, if you put down the phone and only have your Apple Watch (like running on a treadmill) it will assume you aren’t doing anything and are resting. Also, iPhone 12 Pro user, I went on a 10 mile hike with Apple Watch and iPhone and I could not get Endel to see any activity. It thought I was resting the entire time which is a major let down. Please fix these issues so that the app is more reliable and enjoyable. Thank you!

Brilliant. Bravo. Please keep developing this! We need more human-centric algorithms in our already algorithm-saturated lives. Bravo for putting human health and progressive core values first, and clearly developing with a bigger purpose than just ratings and revenue share. I agree that the addition of health data (ie: smart watch) is somewhat critical to get the most out of this app - but that being said, if you’ve got one in play, and allow access to health data, it’s really something IMHO. Good show and we’re excited to see where this continues to evolve!

Endel. The first time I listened to endel, I understood how this would work , with my job especially,. I am part of a scatter crew on a very large solar project, my job is to mark the beams, to prepare them to be rammed in the ground by the inverted crew. I pretty much walk for ten hours a day, marking beams with my invention I made to mark so there is no bending over. So I walk at a fast pace and mark about 2,000 beams a day. listening to endel keeps me focused on my work, making me at “zen”with my walk, and makes my day go by fast. I think clearly and few mistakes are made to make my day great. I absolutely love this, thank you for making this app!!

Holy grail. I work in a high acuity intensive care unit and to say my profession is overwhelming is… an understatement. Adding autism and a sensory disorder on top of that can make the constant emergency alarms nearly unbearable. But thank you, truly from the bottom of my heart, to every soul behind the development of this app. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been able to sleep through the night and this morning I woke up to a home full of delighted people who had just seen the impossible, and with a brain that had finally rested a little bit. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Fresh and innovative app that works!. What can I say! Just love it. I’ve tried quite a few others but this is by far the one for me. The sounds (music) is mesmerizing and contemporary. It subtlety changes/adapts depending on various factors. The recent new additions, giving a choice of even more soundscapes, is a great innovation. The sounds remind me of the groups ‘Orb’ and ‘Future Sound of London’ applied in a totally new way. Thanks for this app - it lightens the load and helps me get through the day in a better mood and with more energy.

Calm. I like Endel for giving me a great background for my day. It’s calming, helps focus, even helps with sleep if you can keep a speaker in your ear! (My husband can’t sleep if there’s the slightest strange sound—endel, sleep. None are approved by him, so I can only wear an eye mask with bluetooth. I like the night sounds. I stream through my hearing aid during the day. I need to charge it at night. I only have 1 ear, with about 70% hearing loss. I need a new eye mask for sleep. I just have NO IDEA what the difference is between the price levels. What do they mean????

Perfect sleep sound. The sleep sound is perfect. Sleep sounds never work for me, they always end up being more of a distraction. This however is perfect. It starts with a gentle tune to que your brain to relax then proceeds to a very soft white noise—loud enough to break the silence but quiet enough that you don’t notice it. It’s quite remarkable. My seven year old daughter also sleeps better with this. I highly recommend it for this feature alone. But the Move soundscape is also quite incredible—great for walks when you need to get yourself grounded and centered.

Good customer service. This app auto plays when prompting accessibility functions on iPhone. Good idea, but doesn’t work properly. Had to delete app so I could listen to books while I drive. Update: the problem is still something the engineers are working out as far as I’m aware, but after several emails about my use case, we found a workaround. Great customer service, so I’m moving the previously 2 star review to a 5 star review.

Skeptical at first.... At first I was a bit “iffy” about confirming a 7 day free trial, but as I began to use the app, my mind changed completely. Really simple, easy, and pleasing interface to look at. The sounds and overall listening experience is great, I’m already sold and I’ve only been using it for one day! The “focus” themed soundtrack is surprisingly effective, I found myself focused in almost a trance like state and got so much work done. Looking forward to being able to focus and get some good sleep. Really hope the developers include different soundscapes - even though it seems like the selection on the app is extensive enough.

Obsessed. I’m only a few days in but I love this app so much. The visuals and sounds are incredibly relaxing and effective. After taking care of my toddlers all day long, i find it hard to get the energy to stay up late and get my own personal work done. The focus sounds make me want to stay up and finish everything. The sleep sounds put me into a deeper sleep and I feel more rested when i wake. Oh, and I love the Alan Watts album! Thank you for getting me to a relaxing state that no other app/album has been able to do so far.

Great but buggy with AirPods.. If I have wired headphones I have a good time. But with AirPods which I use a majority of the time now it’s a hassle to get it start out without it trying to pause and sometimes disconnecting my AirPods for some reason. Otherwise I like the calm experience of the sounds without the hassle of really doing anything besides tapping a scenario and hitting play. But please fix the AirPods bugs so I can just press a Siri shortcut and not have to relaunch the app manually to get it to work.

My gentle awakening, sleep aid. This app plays soft sounds that berce me to sleep. The white noise is sometimes a little loud, and it makes it hard to sleep. If the noise the app played quieter, I would give 5 stars. I do wake up in the middle of the night and the app could become louder to bercé me back to sleep. I love the alarm, it actually starts a few minutes before it officially starts. I’m a little greedy about my sleep and want every second- I wish I could stop the pre-alarm. I also use this for ambient sounds. I find the music calming for my interactions when I play it. Over-all, I use this app daily and I feel like it makes my life better.

Excellent sounds, difficult UI. The sounds are great and really do help me focus and relax. My issue lies in the UI which feels very complicated. It’s difficult to select particular moods. Some screens so additional sound scapes that are not present in the main list, hidden away under the timer. Halfway through the day it randomly asked to download additional sounds for Focus, which is great but shouldn’t that be available immediately? It’s unclear when the app is doing auto play, I can enter a focus session and find the sounds switching to relaxation during the middle of the day. It appears to try and sync with health data and base moods off circadian rhythms but that’s not conducive to working a regular day job. Needs more clarity in choosing the soundscape. UI is also very animated and that can be distracting in itself. Also seems locked to a dark theme. When first launching it asks so many questions, where you have to continue on each one. Almost dropped the app from that alone.

My favorite App. This app puts both myself and my son to sleep within 10 minutes I start the sleep scenario while we do out bedtime routine and once we hit the pillow it is over from there. I have also used it for focus and to de stress with equally amazing results. The App developers are responsive- I got a message back in less than 24 hours. I will say I do not have an Apple Watch and I usually keep my location settings off so while I’m not getting the full Shabang from Endel, my experience has been awesome

Amazing App!. I absolutely adore this app! The soundscapes are calming and peaceful, yet interesting and simple to listen to. Its a mix of electronically made and natural sounds! Its an amazing mix! The only issue I've had is the one I had this morning and last night. My soundscape for sleeping would quit playing and then my smart alarm didn't go off. I’m not sure why that happened but I thought it would be helpful to know! I really wanna see this app grow and add new things! Keep up the great work!

Was not offered the Lifetime subscription. I was only offered the annual subscription. I am frustrated by the lack of transparency that it is a subscription app (1st week free only). Reading through the description it can be found that there is a layered subscription which include a lifetime option. The app was interesting enough app that I was willing to pay a one time premium for the lifetime subscription. So I’ve signed up. They then offer a twenty four hour 50% discount for new users. There was no way to get to the lifetime membership option (not at all). - don’t lie to me, don’t make false offers, don’t not make the product fully available. It looks like a well made app. Good job to the builders. Someone is sales has convinced you that dishonest practices are acceptable. I am sad for you.

Audio keeps cutting out. I love the app but I keep having issues with playback stopping after a couple seconds to a minute of playback. This only happens on my AirPods Pro and this is the only app that has this trouble. The AirPods aren’t disconnecting. I can see they are staying connected. I have to keep hitting play over and over again. I thought maybe it was an internet issue but I did a Speedtest the first few times and those came back fine and again this is the only app I have this issue with. So weird and disappointing because no absolutely adore this app otherwise and was working well for awhile.

Nice in theory, but …. I really appreciate and personality the spirit that went into this app, but I don’t think they ever user-tested the interface. I cannot, for the life of me use it how I want it. The UI is so confusing and ever changing depending on which screen view you have. Just label the buttons and icons, please! Make a CLEAR distinction between action text and descriptive text. The adherence to a pure 100% black or white interface leaves no room for differentiation between items. Every interaction with this app is like reading a choose-your-own-adventure book in a language I can’t read. I tried, but I have to cancel my subscription.

Thank you. To the developers of Endel: Thank you for making this app. All of these soundscapes work tremendously! Focus/study helped me so much when I had to do school virtually, as I am easily distracted. This app helped me to focus on schoolwork, and even helped me raise my grades! The relax soundscape is one of my absolute favorites. The sounds are so calming. And sleep (my favorite!) is wonderful! I will play it quietly when I go to bed. It helps me to fall asleep way faster than anything. Once again, thank you for making this app!!

Game changer. I purchased this app after listening to the Plastikman promo on BeatPort’s Twitch. Like others, I purchased the subscription 6 months ago and immediately canceled. Well, I will almost certainly renew because I absolutely love this app and use it every day. I have problems falling asleep along with a partner that snores very loudly. I initially used earbuds to listen to Endel in bed, and now I use noise canceling headphones (back sleeper). I set the timer for 30 minutes but am usually asleep within a few minutes. I’ve used white noise machines, but Endel seems to encourage sleep rather than just providing sound soothing. I actually never use the Plastikman soundscape. I tend to use AI Lullaby, Sleep, and the chill scenario. I’ve had the most relaxing bath ever using the self care scenario and am currently experimenting with the focus soundscape at work. Not denying that many will find this app expensive (I did as well), but in the end, it’s been well worth the price.

No options. I paid for a year of this because there’s a discount if you buy before the 7 free days. I didn’t realize that there are literally no options. You choose from 5 types of sounds, relax/focus/on the go/sleep/season. Thats it. They are good for sure, but the sleep and season one stopped working after 3 weeks, so now it’s onto relax... for the rest of the year? I have bad PTSD, sleeping is hell to begin with, finances are tight. Definitely wouldn’t have purchased had I known it was really well marketed up front with a super basic back end. AND if you want to use Endel on ITunes, you need the unlimited iTunes for 9.99 per month... it doesn’t come with the endel subscription. Get a free app.
