StepsApp Pedometer Comments & Reviews 2026

I love this simple and beautiful app!. I really love this app- easy to use, simple, and very well designed! I love the different views- daily, weekly, monthly - makes it easy to track my progress across a long period of time, and helps motivate me to do more. Since downloading this app I've used it everyday. The best part is I don't have to "turn it on" to use it- it just starts recording steps on its own. I always have my phone with me anyway, so tracking my steps with my phone is an added benefit- and made very easy and intuitive with the StepsApp!! **Update** I've been using this app for 7 weeks now and I still LOVE it!! Seeing my number of steps each day makes me want to push myself to do more. Great app!!! **Update 2** I've now been using this app for 8 months and I still LOVE it. I use his app everyday and it's helped really push me to exercise much more this year than I would've w/o it. Very reliable and user friendly app and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their fitness. **Update 3** I've now been using this app for 15 months and I still LOVE it and use it everyday. This app has really helped me improve my fitness level over the past year and it's great to be able to see the tremendous progress I've made from a year ago. Thanks again to the developers for a fantastic app!

Near perfect app, missing oone feature. Absolutely love this app, I’m trying to hit 1,000,000 steps by doing 10,000 steps a day for 100 days and I absolutely love this app it is my HQ for this goal- it keeps track of your route, your calories, distance, time, steps, goals, everytbing The only thing it’s missing- I would love to be able to turn the app “off” so that random steps around the house and outside of my cardio sessions don’t contribute to my total weekly step count. Like if I could have it easily stop step recording when Im done my work out, and then start counting only once I start my next work out, that would be perfect! Then I would be able to know I hit 1,000,000 steps in my cardio sessions alone. Worth the money for premium honestly, syncs fully with Apple Watch and Apple health but it’s a much better workout recording app than the Apple Watch workout app, by a mile

Next Man Steps Up. When your numbers called, it takes guts, it takes courage, it takes thought, and it takes dedication to step up. It’s a mental process involving choice, challenge, and often times risk. what do all these have in common? The answer is time! “ It will all be over soon”, shruggingly the- next-man-up whispered. “Focus. All you have to do is focus”, The brave young rookie loudly yelled to himself. With this app, you are able to “sleep while you fly“. it does it for you. I get this deep into these metaphors or symbolic ways of mental landmarks to do with the fact that we take for granted exercise. But this have never does take for granted the time it takes to step forward and become the next man up. And at the end of your day, you may have forgotten, but this app does not, and it shows you how awesome your work was. and every day becomes more addictive. My name is Micka and I’m addicted to this app and I would like to say thank you to all involved for making every day very special. For making me the next man up whether I like it or not. I rest courageous no matter what my day was filled with. I write this because I just was informed over 12,000 steps today and it’s not even 11 PM and I woke up at around 2 PM. Yes I’m courageous. But I had to be reminded of it. Thanks guys Sincerely, “ next man steps up“ Micka «» New Orleans

GREAT APP!!. This app is the easiest app to use! Once you download it and set it up that’s it you set it and forget it! It kicks in and gives me a little updates according to the frequency that I set up and I am constantly in the know about my daily activities level. This is really important to me because it lets me know whether or not I need to get off the couch and do some exercise or if I was way over my daily goal or even if I need to step it up a little bit and get some more steps in. If you’re like me and you like using technology but you’re not the best at being technologically savvy this is the app for you. It will make you feel good about yourself to as it tells you throughout the day that you’re getting closer and closer to your daily fitness goal. Do yourself a favor, Do your family a favor, do your spouse or significant other favor and get healthy while you sing this app!

Daily Goals. I really love StepsApp. I will definitely change my star rating to 5 stars if the app would allow daily goals to be individualized. When I set a daily goal for a certain amount of steps depending on what I’m doing that day then it changes my past daily goals to the current day. There are some days that I know I’m going to be very busy at work at my desk so I set my goals according to that. The app helps me remember that I have a goal to meet. But then on a Sunday when my husband and I are going to be lazy I prefer to set my goals low and not worry about whether I meet them or not. Like I said then all of my other daily goals change to match. I was disappointed when I discovered what I consider a flaw in the app. I did choose to buy the app thinking maybe that would upgrade but it didn’t. I still love the app but I wish the daily goals were separated.

Another way to stay number one!. It would be really cool if the steps app was also similar to a game in the sense of our accomplishments the more that we do the more points we can earn the more fun things that we can probably accomplish in the game, making us want to go further side like in Pokémon go how you could discover things on the run and the more you were walking in the more than you could find more interesting and rare things is the same concept as I’m trying to pitch would be kind of fun to see something like that on this app just a suggestion and as far as accuracy goes I still think it’s about 98% or but still overall I’m pretty happy with it. Also as in some more customizable content and maybe something more engaging during the run. A progress guide perhaps like it talks at different levels maybe sobering encouraging to keep pushing and health facts like by rubbing it walking today as apossed to sitting you’ve gainedxyz benefits to your health and your great! Ask I can do now is got sobering will read this and put it to use!

Fantastic. Motivation at its finest! Absolutely love this app. Thank you for whoever created this lovely app. Since the day I downloaded it & started using it, I have absolutely loved it & find it very motivating to continue to want to reach my daily goals & to watch my “Goal Streaks” I never want to miss a day, lol. The only downfall is, if you don’t have the AppleWatch or some kind of watch to connect to Bluetooth you constantly need to have your phone on you, so you’re always making sure you have it or you might get upset that your app missed about however many steps you did without it, lol. That’s the only downfall to the app. I have used the free version & I have used the purchased version. I obviously love the purchased one more because you can change everything & the free version is very limited but overall, I would highly recommend this app to everyone & anyone interested in either their daily step count, calories, flights climbed, your streaks, ETC. I do it for the motivation to be honest, lol. I love watching how many steps I’ve done & it keeps you active to say the least! & of course you can get in shape using this app! 5-stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟 Thank you so much for such an amazing application even the free version like I said! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this “Steps App!”

Steps to Success. Very good app. I’m 68 y/o and I’m slowing down. This app lets me know how many more steps to reach my goal of 5,000 steps per day. I’m a busy Teacher/Nurse. When I first started this, I was disappointed with how few steps I was taking when I thought I was walking a marathon...ok...a half marathon. Seriously, I was just trying to get 5,000 steps. I found that by walking the long hall instead of the short one I could get in 500 more steps. Then I would add on another longer route to where I was going and add a few more steps, etc. After 3 weeks, I finally conquered 5,300 steps today! Yessss! Now that I’m taking my classes to clinical, I won’t have to worry about reaching my goal for the remainder of the semester since I will exceed 5,000+ each day. Then I start over for the Spring Semester. Excellent app...is helping me a lot. Maybe I’ll try for 6,000 steps. : )

Great app for motivation and consistency!. StepsApp has genuinely helped me stay motivated through its streak system. Watching my streak grow every day pushes me to stay consistent and not break the chain. Because of this app, I’ve been able to maintain 8,000–10,000 steps daily, which has made walking a regular part of my routine. The step counting is very accurate for the most part. Occasionally, if you swing your phone while standing still, it may count a few extra steps but this seems to depend a lot on your phone model and sensors. In my experience, newer or better phones are less likely to have this issue. Overall, despite this minor limitation, I’m very satisfied with the app and would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to stay active and build healthier habits.

My opinion. After reading my first review, I realized it didn't sound as flattering as I was actually trying to be. I didn't invest in the app right away and wish that I would've done it from the start! Once I actually invested the money in it and tried the full version and not just the free one I was happy I gave the app the love it deserved! I love this app!! It has quickly replaced my other step apps and is the one I love!! I don't recommend keeping the basic edition like I did for 3 years, I suggest actually trying it for at least a month and then deciding then what your opinion is about it. I don't think it'll take you that long to discover just what this app has to offer and it'll quickly become your favorite as well.

Problems Lately…FIXED NOW 👍. I have had this app for many years and it has always been solid. But within the last week there have been 2 instances where it just stops updating in the app usually around early evening. The Health App by Apple shows the correct steps and the Apple Watch shows the correct steps BUT the actual app on my iPhone doesn’t update no matter what I do. Very frustrating! I don’t want to find a new steps app but I may have to if this keeps happening. Please fix! UPDATE App is working great again. Not sure what the issue was but it seems to have been an outlier. Developer advised me to restart phone. I did, but issue already resolved itself.

This app is everything to me than anything other step counter. My family mostly uses a Fitbit and I didn't have one because I don’t like wearing things around my wrist and this app doesn’t make me put something around my wrist. I downloaded the app for free half a year ago and so ever since then the app really kept me motivated because I like the sense of pride and reaching step, calories, mile, and hour goals give me that sense of pride I love. I eventually “bought” the pro version of the app and I am more addicted to the app I had ever been. I really love how efficient, simple, and easy to use. It is also visually pleasing to me and love the 6 different colors. I honestly would say this app is worth more to me than any other step count app or brand. It’s so easy and cheap. I love this app so much. Even my friend was interested in it and showed her what the app does for free and the perks of the pro version of the app. ————————————————— If you’re looking for a step counter that is easy, efficient, simple, visually pleasing, and cheap I recommend this app to you!

Great Motivator. Being 65 y/o I wanted to start back slowly into walking & eventually back to the elliptical. I thought about buying a pedometer but didn’t want to spend a lot of money on one that would track more than just steps. Fitbit is just too out of my price range so I figured let’s look at some apps. I read the reviews of a lot of different ones but this one caught my eye. What can I say? After less than a week I bought the full version. It motivates and challenges me to meet my daily goal. Which is great because it gets me on my feet and moving! I adjusted the daily goal to fit my needs so not to get discouraged if I didn’t reach 10,000 steps. I’m determined to work my way to the 10k daily as a long term goal. Thank you for this great motivational app! Love it!

Good App for anyone who walks. I started walking at the being of the CoronaVirus March 2020. I’ve have has 3 back surgeries but thanks to a great chiropractor he got me to walk again! Each day I walked a little more & a little more & realized I needed to keep track of my steps. Ex: in October 2020 I walked 155 miles & it counted every step of it. I needed a step counter that was easy to use & offered me other options also. This one is so easy, it counts my steps, gives me a goal, does daily counts, weekly breakdowns & overall monthly stats, anyone can use this app without a problem. It set my goal step count for height & weight & I can easily adjust if I wanted to. This has been an outstanding app for me & I truly recommend it highly. Thanks my life has certainly changed for the better…

HELP. The app does record steps but to me i count my step as i do high steps and taichi movements while walking with steps but all inside my home. Steps synced to my iwatch and iphone but I counted each time i walked or work out walk my stability is low so i cant stand in place and lift one foot up without falling over. Also is like a suggested companion to Simple app- an app where i’ve list a pound a day for 20 days and see before and after pictures the before pictures are baggy clothes the after are right packs on men and body yody yody on women. The other half there are sick like me, and im home bound so i walk in place as they give me that my phone attached hip to thigh and goes up and down with my leg as i step in place or walk. 2k steps my count was, you went up to 1746 or something close then down to 1340. It’s like the steps in place aren’t counting? If i’m not home bound i’m bed bound or at Dr.

Great App. I use this App every day for general step count and Outdoor walking. I found it to be very accurate until recently. When I walk outdoors my steps are tracked separately from my general steps until I stop the Outdoor Walk, then it combines the total steps in the general count. Recently I have noticed a difference in the counts. As an example, today I had already walked about 3654 general steps and then turned on Outdoor Walk. When the Outdoor walk was finished, I was showing that Walk at 10,642 steps, yet my total step count is only 6,539, when I thought it would be 17,281. This is the second time I have noticed this type discrepancy in the past two weeks. Also, would much prefer a way to reach out to Steps APP support, other than doing a review. If it is in the APP, then please make it easier to find. I don’t do social media...

Unnecessary, inaccurate and annoying!. I was so excited when I got my new Apple Watch that I searched for apps that I could include and purchased this one. I was so new to the Watch that I didn’t realize it did everything this app does only does it correctly. One reviewer wrote that you couldn’t edit the goals on the Apple Watch, which is ridiculous because it’s extremely easy to do on the Watch. Fortunately I didn’t spend too much money on this but regret every penny I did. Frequently in the middle of my daily 4 mile walk, the steps app will send an alert saying I’ve been sitting too long and have to move around. This happens often during the day, usually when I’m walking. It’s really garbage and I don’t understand why it’s been rated so highly. Perhaps if people use this solely as a pedometer and not link it to a phone or watch it could be helpful, but that doesn’t explain the annoying alerts that’s tell me to move when I’m already moving. Can’t wait to get rid of it! Response to developer: I did have this synced with Apple Health from the start. Always sent me annoying alerts that I’ve been sitting too long while I’m out walking. Much happier since I deleted this!

amazing !. a little comment i would like to add is that i’m walking for steps just as i am typing this lol but this app is very good for other users apart from apple! although i do have a apple phone and apple watch to calculate my steps, i also like this app cause it very creative, more common with everyone, and has made me set goals! it’s super useful and has good information and allows you to check how many steps you take a day, and also lets you rewind to a few days back, it also links to your apple watch (if you have one) and can also check ur steps from there. it can trace back from years, months, weeks, and days! i recommend this app to all people, no matter if you have a iphone or samsung IT WORKS. i’ve been using this for almost a month and with how many steps i’m taking, i see progress.

Worthy of a review!. I don’t take the time to write a lot of reviews. Today it just seems like we are inundated with requests to review products or fill out surveys! Who has time for all of that? Every now and then however, a product comes along that particularly impresses me - and I feel compelled to recognize its excellence. StepsApp is one such app! At it’s core, you may be tempted to say “it’s just a pedometer…no biggie!” While that may be essentially true, it is the elegance and presentation of my data that makes this app a winner to me. Along with tracking my steps, duration, distance, calories and floors, the app also gives me a variety of ways to analyze my data. Trends, averages, totals and records for various time frames including daily, weekly, last 7 days, monthly and yearly allow me to get a great look “inside” my data to really see how my performance is improving. On top of a nice app with wonderful dark mode and Apple Watch support, StepsApp also has a great development team that is very supportive and responsive. A recent bug I reported received email response within 24 hours and the bug was patched and the app updated within 5 days of my report! That was simply incredible! Walking is a major part of my fitness regimen and I depend on StepsApp to help keep me motivated to push ever harder!

Exactly what I’ve been looking for!. I did a lot of research on step counting apps and this one was always highly rated. I loved the simplicity of it so I figured I’d give it a shot. I love Apples health app but have always been frustrated with their app updating my steps, sometimes it seemed like it took forever. But that wasn’t a problem with this app. Every time I checked my watch it updated my steps and this in turn motivated me even more to reach my goal. I thought it would eat up my battery but I hardly noticed any difference from what it normally would do. I also like how it shows you a monthly chart that shows what days you reached your goal and also a grand total of steps you’ve taken since a certain date. The only thing I wish it had was a feature to challenge other friends or family members to see who got in the most daily steps like some other apps have. My wife just got this app so she can try to out walk me! Good luck! If you want a simple step counter that keeps track of your steps daily and more, this is definitely the one for you.

A Great Motivator. I have been using the Apple Watch and iPhone for a number of years, but then, I came across the Steps App, and once installed, I was quite impressed! The makers had a unique way of creating an app that is centered on the one thing that I, along with a LOT of other people look to see when using the Activity app: Steps.... The only thing I would recommend for improvement is that when we use the app to actually record an actual walk, we should be able to see how many miles we have walked instead of yardage.... Other than that, very impressive app! The graphics, colors, and data breakdowns in days, weeks and months are all very helpful. Lastly, the “motivation” of it in helping you to achieve at least 10,000 steps daily (or whatever other steps goal you would like to achieve) through a series of notifications, along with your weekly progress on Wednesdays and Sunday’s is also very informative and helpful! All in all: If you want to have a good motivation tool for achieving new steps goals, and ultimately a more active lifestyle, I highly recommend that you have this in your app Arsenal!

Interesting and I want one that is free. Do you have anything like this but it’s free?. I am almost 73 years old and I worked in a nursing home and I was LPN and I helped bed checks. I had 24 patients. I told you all of this because I have to use a walker inside and outside. We live in an apartment with two full bathrooms and three bedrooms so I have a long hallway and I am going to walk back and forth. Last year I could do it two times and I want to go farther and then when I can do it five times and last year I weighed 213 pounds and then this morning I am down to 164 pounds. I only eat when I’m hungry and I usually sleep late and then I will get up 5 pm so that’s only eating dinner and I eat sugar free popsicles.

Mostly good, but could be better. I like this app, but it’s not accurate for flights of stairs. I live on the third floor of an old building with high ceilings. That’s 21 steps up, walk 15 steps down the hall to the next flight, and then another 18 steps up. This app calls that 1 flight of stairs. I did laundry an went up those stairs 6 times, that’s 12 flights. This app counted it as 5. Also, what if I leave my phone behind as I walk down and in back to take out the trash? I know that’s at least 200 steps going down, out back and coming back up. But there’s no way to add those steps manually. Also, the app doesn’t let you decrease your goals always. I could with the steps, but not with the stairs. Other than all that, I like using this app. It makes counting my steps fun. **** Reply to developer who attempted to “help.” READ MY REVIEW: I said how long/ tall the flights are here. This is an old bldg. with 10/12 ft. ceilings. And I ALREADY sync with my Apple Health app. And the rest of that crap about turn on or turn of the sensor? It’s gobbledegook. I want an easy app to count my steps. And I want to be able to manually correct it or add flights or steps that got missed. I do not want to program that myself and I shouldn’t have to. You are the app developer. This is your app. Your job is to do the programming. So. Do. It.

Kinda annoying. First off I just got a new apple watch and I wear it a lot and the walking app I had before didn't work very well so I was searching for a new one and so I downloaded this one and at fist it was working very well I even had a 2 day streak which was very nice and awarding intill!one day I checked my apple watch to see if I had a certain amount of steps and I did so then later that day I checked my phone and there was 0 steps and I know for a fact I had went multiple places that day which concludes that I should have a whole lot more steps.. And then TODAY I checked my steps on my apple watch as always and it was working perfectly fine, and then I checked a few hours later and it was completely frozen which is very upsetting due to the facy I would really love to see my steps. Therefore this is a decent app until it starts to glitch.

A standing ovation for one of the best step counter apps out there. I have been an avid Fitbit user for the last 2 years. But I had a problem with the wristband and whilst having it fixed, I figured I should get a step counter on my phone, something to use in the interim. I am however proud to say I haven’t gone back to my Fitbit ever since. Steps App has done a brilliant job of keeping track of my step counts (and even better it doesn’t do that annoying thing Fitbit does when sometimes the band can’t tell whether you are walking or you are in a cab. This app only counts the actual steps you take). I love how I can set goals for my steps and the stairs I want to climb, plus the amount of activity I want to do. I even love how it also registers the calories I am burning when I walk, and how accurate it is to. Using Steps has been a wonderful experience and I totally recommend it to anyone else. Also, you get most of the nifty features with the free version. But I love the change of colour the pro gives me.

Steps App. I really like how the steps apps is organized to accumulate your steps for the day, whether it’s in the fore ground or in the background; or even if you shut the phone off, it still captures the data in the background for the whole day. Additionally, as an additional big plus, I love how the app holds the last 7 days of data so you can go back-and-forth across any day to see what your progress is for the whole week. I also like the read out of calories, distance, and steps. I highly recommend this application to anybody interested in a real easy to use exercise app that runs as a background application accumulating this kind of data/information. Very, very well done. -Floyd J

Good app. I got the free version of StepsApp in summer while I was desperately wanting to do an exercise outside. You know, it’s 2020. I chose this app for its simplicity. I just needed to know how much I walked and the distance. With this free app, I set my daily goal of 10,000 steps a day at first, then quickly realized it was just too much for me and eased back to 6,000 steps a day. Changing the goal is easy. I love to watch the shining circle when I reach my goal. With my free version, it seems I cannot keep my record more than a week or so, so if you want to keep it longer, then you’ll want the Premium version I guess. It counts your steps by feeling the vibration you make while walking, so sometimes I see some discrepancies with my feeling ( ex. I walked longer than yesterday but the count is about same). I try to keep it in my pocket, not in my hand, and it could be a problem when I Zoom walk with the mic on. I wish the app is a bit more sensitive for this. But overall, I like this app, it’s been a great incentive for me to walk, and I’m glad I use it. Recommend to a walker who doesn’t need detailed fancy tool.

Great for seniors correction upper middle age. Accurate and effective step counter, Doesn’t lat driving pad your steps, or swinging around for steps , my opinion true steps from bathroom to long dog walks, taken care of spouse , imagine my wife and army trained me well , it’s great to be able to help at 64 a wife separated best friends, her time for help The app focuses more on calorie loss than hints to gain weight after from stress and COVID Any caring for others, but really a good product Retired operations engineer, and app could be Senior user friendly, little algorithm tweaks Good input and help our heart and weight Just got links to others vendors for tips We don’t or can’t go to gym for trainer Widen parameters, long term app owners at even small monthly increase Seniors healthy and getting healthy a 60-80 Buyers market, im 63 and gaining confidence in your business Thanks RD Cole

Great App and it encourages me to walk more !!. I’ve used this app for over a year now and I love it. First, I trust the accuracy. I’ve tested it several times for accuracy and it’s pretty darn good, especially when I’m on a consistent pace. Second, it really encourages me to walk more because I like to see the graph at 10,000 steps or more each day. And if I don’t walk much, it shows that number too. Now, I purposely walk 3-5 miles most days and it’s helped me reduce my excess weight. I’ve had to buy new smaller clothes as a result. I give this app a lot of credit for allowing me to measure my steps and even “floors” when I use steps to go upstairs or steep hills. Knowing your walk data is critical to staying or becoming healthier.

Review. I love this app personally, its a useful tracker In my life I appreciate that it works on my phone wether or not it’s open , however I think some of the app’s features are lacking in areas for example , I wish their was a “rucking activity” for those who don’t know rucking is a elongated walk with a weighted bag. The weight should be no more than 20% of your body weight . I think this would be a useful activity button and it would share a spot In between walking and running. I also think it should give you a “time check” sense the app can distinguish when your not moving it should be able to say you have been inactive for the past (insert amount of time). Anyway thank you for this wonderful app I appreciate the creates so much as you’ve helped me in my day to day exercise

Amazing! Wonderful! Works! The best app ever!. This Step app by far is the best our there. This is my first Apple device iWatch series 5 and boy have I enjoyed every moment of it. I know the iWatch has apps built in it for walking and keeping track of work out. I used it, don’t like the activity app 👎🏻 not impressive at all! That activity app that Apple has a built I have noticed at times very inaccurate when it comes to steps and calories burned, miles or distance I have gone. So when I seen the StepApp I thought I’d give it a try. Best decision ever! I will start off by saying the StepApp is the best of the best app that’s out there when it comes to steps and moving and working out. I knew at the beginning when it asks to set you’re goal for the day. So when it came to the end of the day, it actually shows you and gives you you’re final progress, I knew this app was the best and it was I needed. It’s so accurate to the very last step. It’s counts every step, show distance , and miles and calories everything a StepApp should show you. I like how easy it is for you to set goals each day and change them by how much more you want to do or how less you want to do. It goes as far as actually telling you when you have hit your goal for the day. Now if you decide to change like I do from day to day, setting your new goal and once you reach them, the app will alert you you hit your mark. Now if you decide to go step further and tell you if you and when you pass the goal from the day before. I love the fact at the end of the day you can still see your progress for the day or days before, just giving you that boost to want to go future. It’s save the whole week so you can see your progress and then the once that month finally come to an end, you still can go back and look at everything. There’s also features for adding your weight and logging it so it keeps track of when you lose or gain. I also like the fact you can go back months / year to see the progress you have taken to a better healthy life. So instead of you reading the rest of my post how about you back out and download the app already. If you have gotten this far you must have like what I was saying about the StepApp. It’s not going to hurt you to give the app a try. You’re going to love it and enjoy it, the way I am..! 😎

Great App. I love this app and I would have given it a full 5 stars except that it seems to take time to fully record your steps and distance. For example when you get done with your walk the total steps shown is not the final tally. It will eventually record the correct steps and distance but not in “real time”. Still a wonderful step app comparable to Fitbit (except I think better!). …”update” still love this app but with each update my Apple Watch series one crashes the app, on the watch only. If I want to track my steps I need to check them on the phone as the app doesn’t display as it did previously on my watch. I guess if a new Apple Watch didn’t cost a zillion dollars I would buy one but my current Watch works just fine. Still love this app. “UPDATE” This is my fav pedometer and the folks behind it try really hard to make it work for every Apple Watch user. Their last update crashed the app on my watch again but after I reported it to them they began to work on a fix. After a number of weeks I’d given up hope that it would ever work with my series one watch but behind the scenes they continues working on it and one day I get a message that they may have found a solution…so I updated and BAM it works again. I love this app and the folks behind the app. Most app support folks might have given up but they didn’t and their communication is exemplary…I bumped up my stars from 4 to the 5 they deserve!!!

Perfect addition for fitness at any level. This app fills a huge hole in the iPhone / iwatch fitness app lineup. Simply put it counts steps, and provides a way to display that information real time on your iwatch. Huge oversight (or hubris) by Apple, corrected with this little app.... Brilliantly executed, simple, no B.S. Now I can see if I have 60 steps, 6,000steps, or 12,000 steps to gauge how much more walking I need to do to meet my goals for the day. No pulling out my phone, no swiping, just glance and go. Really should get 6 or more stars for fixing apples mistake. UPDATE: It’s been a couple years since I bought this app, and it still works great. Highly recommend if you have step goals. Great integration with the Iwatch and iPhone. You have to set your watch face up to display the app results, and you have to flip a few radio buttons to integrate with Ihealth and the exercise app. My initial review still stands. Probably the best app I’ve bought. It’s worth whatever they charged me. I use it all the time, you will too. I am in no way affiliated with the maker of this app and feel I’m providing a fair unbiased opinion of the app. I have received NO compensation for this review. The app just happens to be that good.

Motivator. For me, the StepsApp is a motivator. It keeps track of stuff that’s important to me. Mainly, how many steps I walked, how long it took me and how many miles I walked at the end of the week and month. I don’t overdo it, my goal is only 6,000 steps (I’m 76), but if I’m close to my goal in the evening, I just might walk a few more steps to reach that magic number. I thought about getting a Fitbit or an Apple Watch, but StepsApp fits the bill for me just fine. Added three years later: I’m still pleased with my StepsApp. I’m almost 80 now, and I’m continuing the walks almost every day. Reached my goal of 6,000 steps four times this week. It takes me a little longer these days and StepsApp keeps me apprised of how many hours a week I walk, how many steps, how many calories burned and so on. Still consider a Fitbit every so often, but I’m totally satisfied with this app. Update I turned 80 this year and I’m still happy with my StepsApp. I started this app in 2015 and to this day I’ve reached my goal over 500 times. Granted, 6K is not much for a young person, but for me it’s a reasonable goal. I hope I get to use this app for a few more years.

Really good step counter. First off... this app isn’t a subscription type app. It does work with your Apple Watch. Have mine running on a Series 4. It uses mostly the data that your watch and iPhone already collect... your steps. The only difference is how that data is used and presented. The app allows you to set your own daily goals, including calories burned goals for the day. The Activities app that Apple includes with the Apple Watch doesn’t allow you to alter your goals in any way. Not even the daily calorie goal. Which I think is kinda stupid. I work at a desk most of the day and I was finding it really difficult to meet the default 5000 daily steps the Activities app sets for you. Or the 460 daily calorie goal from activity. With this app, I can set my daily goal to whatever step count I want, and even the daily activity calorie goals, to something more realistic for me personally that I can achieve... but I do push to exceed those goals as much as I can. All the other apps I came across with similar features were all subscription based services... many costing upwards of $100/yr. I hate subscription services... especially for an app I’m buying. Just stupid. Save your money and just pay the $2.99 for a simple to use app and be done with it.

Perfect Step Tracker!. I initially got the free version to see if it would be worth it… long story short, I upgraded to the Pro version that same day. Perfectly tracks all steps and stairs! Provides you with all sorts of data / metrics to track your progress, and does GPS route tracing so you have an accurate record of how many steps, how many miles and it also provides you with your time and splits! It does everything it says and more… one of my go-to apps daily AND it has useful widgets so you can monitor your daily activity right on your Home Screen or Lock Screen. PERFECT 5 STARS! Edit: adding comment for cycling as I’ve now tested this feature out extensively and it’s extremely accurate and remains 5 STARS Update: Months after initial review now, and it remains a 5-Star rated app! Still paying for it and it is easily a no-regret monthly purchase!

does it track car mileage?. I haven’t gotten to use the app much because I want to make sure that 50% of my steps aren’t just me being in my car? Does it count by actual “length”? Or does it know between walking and in a car? (That was an old review here’s my new update:) I’ve been walking at a steps pace of probably 50-70 steps per minute for almost 3 hours… the app STILL says I’ve only been walking for an hour and I’ve only gotten 6,500 steps.. I know I’ve definitely been walking for 3 hours so idk how it’s even possible so only have 6,500 steps. It also doesn’t really matter how quickly I walk either.. I’ve walked slower, faster, longer, shorter. I always reach 10,000 steps at 1hr 30m .. very confused because at this point I think I’m getting DOUBLE my steps (not like it’s not better that way, but I’m starting to get too busy to keep up with my minimum goal and it’s making me feel useless in a way. Is there a reason why it isn’t tracking correctly? Do I need the app open? Can I use my phone while walking??? Idk pls help)

Changes Historical Data. This app has changed historical steps affecting goal streaks. I had 165 day streak going and out of nowhere, the app went back and changed steps from 43 days ago. Very frustrating when I dedicated time to attaining goals and then the app just arbitrarily changes historical data. Giving the app a couple of days to correct, if not, then finding an app that is dependable. Very frustrating!!! UPDATE-The Developer diagnosed and corrected the issue and the streak is correct again! Very happy with Developer response and the very timely matter in which it was addressed. I really like this app and the correction just reinforces my belief with the support provided. Now looking back over my experience, the developer has earned a corrected review, I think a 5 star is now how I feel.

Great Application Focused on Health.. My wife has been using the StepsApp for months. It took only days to realize the Pro Version was going to be well worth the extremely reasonable yearly subscription. A total win. Last month a had a very rough full open heart surgery and the App has been a blessing. Together with Apple Health and StepsApp I have everything on my rest that keeps my walking up to date, which makes my Cardiologist happy. Additionally, we have needed to call for support and also contacted them for a bit of guidance. Simply said the folks at StepsApp they have responded extremely quickly and are extremely helpful. StepsApp in coordination with Apple Health, a win win. I highly recommend this App. And look forward to what they bring next that will add to the Excellent Apple Health applications.

Steps App. If you have a pocket, put your phone in it when you go for a walk. Not only will your phone keep you safe if you need to contact someone because you have fallen, been hit by a car, etc. -your phone can also tell you how many steps you have taken. This app can also tell you how far you’ve gone, and provide other facts about your daily exercise. At the end of the week it will give you a report and suggestions. In addition it is VERY simple to operate because you don’t have to do anything. I also have a watch which I find VERY difficult to use. I have friends who quickly mastered the intricacies of their watches. The watches were designed by millennials for millennials…people who love technology and quickly grasp it. That’s not me.

Might be good. I’ve been getting more serious about tracking my steps, so I decided to try this app to help me stay on top of my goals. I really like how accessible it is, especially with the widgets, which make it easy to check my progress throughout the day. At first, everything worked great, and the step count seemed accurate. However, lately, I’ve noticed some discrepancies. For example, the app might show that I’ve hit 10,000 steps, but the Apple Fitness app will only show around 7,000. This doesn’t happen every day, but when it does, it’s frustrating because I don’t know if I’ve actually reached my goal or if the app is overcounting. Overall, it’s a useful app, but I hope the accuracy improves so I can fully rely on it for my step tracking.

Needs bugs fixed. I like the app it’s easy and convenient. But the tracking of steps is unpredictable, some days it’s tracks all my steps and other days it doesn’t I unsynced Apple health like in a previous review I read to do and when I did I lost 1k steps never updated either. I turned Apple health back on and gained the steps back, and unfortunately having it on is the only way to track them on my Apple Watch. Another draw back is when I don’t have my phone with me and just wearing my watch and it tracks my steps on my watch, when I open the step app on my phone the phone steps take over and make my watch show what the phone steps are instead of all the steps I just took on my watch. They aren’t syncing the right way.

9 years and still loving it!!. I’ve been using this app since 2017 and it’s still one the most in depth and informative steps apps I’ve ever used. I particularly love the awards and badges you unlock! Just hit the 15 million badge and it really does help to motivate you walk more. Or when you see you’re about to lose your streak, it lights a fire under you to get up and start moving. Got an Apple Watch last year and I feel like the accuracy of steps has increased exponentially, so highly recommended having some sort of activity tracker that you can link to the app for the best accuracy. Also, the pro version is an inexpensive upgrade. Certainly not needed by all means, but it’s nice to support the developers, at the very least. Highly recommend this app!!

Great app but a few flaws. This is such a great app, it’s easy to use but there are only some flaws, which is why I didn’t give it a 5 star review. The biggest one is that I lose my streak every day at 10am EST… which doesn’t make sense. So far I’ve had a five day streak, but when I wake up I get a notification that I lost my streak and it hasn’t even been lunch time yet and I broke my streak? Then later in the day once I hit 10k steps (which is what I set my goal to) I have to use one of my freezes to save my streak. It just doesn’t make sense why my streak breaks before the day is even over. I’ve looked at the settings and there is nowhere to edit what time I want to hit my goal for every day. I just hope this gets fixed one day. The other flaw, that is more manageable and not that big of a deal, is that while I’m on the treadmill, this app takes a while to update my current steps. I have an iPhone and an Apple Watch. I have to put my watch on my ankle so that my steps are tracked better (because I’m doing other things while on the treadmill that require my hands to be stationary). But when I go into this app I have to keep refreshing it like 5 to 10 times or exit out of the app and open it back up to see what my current steps are. It does get a bit annoying but it would be nice that the steps counter could update quicker.

StepsApp Keeps Improving and Keeps Us Moving………,. I have been a StepsApp subscriber for many years, and it has now become one of my favorite tools for encouraging us to “keep on keeping on” with enthusiasm, goal setting, and actual seventy-seven + year old zest! New features, updated opportunities and more! I’m continually surprised, challenged and willing to speak positively about StepsApp. P my SE RWD Robert W. Driscolll I do not know what AI program wrote the above review, but even though it sounds a little like me, I’m almost certain I did not pen/type this. StepsApp is a favored tool of mine and has been for many years as I was drawn to its inviting simplicity. Today though, a subscription costs more than I can afford, so I trust you’ll continue to offer the simplest app possible and allow me to continue my routine without worrying about revising my goals or complicating/monitoring my daily routine. Thank you for offering me the KISS program I was drawn to many years ago. I sincerely appreciate it, and I’ll support you as I’m able without subscribing to a monthly commitment. I write this with continued enthusiasm and zest for the days ahead. One day and one step at a time. Sincerely, RWD

Really good but one little thing. I enjoy this app very much. Extremely user friendly and just an overall blast for a person like me who enjoys keeping track of movement and or using a pedometer to track activity for exercise or just in general. The price is defiantly worth it and I believe I first bought this app back in February of 2018. It has a lot of neat features and extras and a really cool user interface which is customizable with a 7 or 8 colors. Keeps tracks of steps and works with my Apple Watch pretty well... which brings me to my only complaint...(UPDATED PART) in my initial review I gave the app a lower rating because of a synchronization problem I was having with the StepsApp where I would lose upwards of a 1000 steps or steps would be subtracted from my app right as I open the app. Fortunately the developers responded very quickly with gave some awesome suggestions that proved useful AND VERY FORTUNATELY I found a quicker way to keep a more accurate tally of my steps was to use the steps app in conjunction with The [free] Apple ACTIVITY app for the IOS and Apple Watch. Doing this completely fixed my issues with syncing and expedited the process of displaying the data quickly (only have to wait up to a minute)and accurately... with that said I highly recommend using this app with Apple Activity for IOS and Apple Watch. In my experience doing that makes this app perfect and an unbroken product. This app has been a great tool for my weight loss journey and helped me so much reach and monitor my goals. Thank you StepsApps developers for being responsive, helpful and making a good affordable app .... The StepsApp Pedometer for iOS and Apple Watch is a MUST BUY, A GREAT BUY, And A WONDERFUL TOOL.

Best Step Tracker, Worth Every Penny. I’ve had this app for a decent amount of time now, I’d say at least 8 months, because of how many steps I’d been taking and how much I wanted to accurately track them. My career involves a lot of walking and knowing exactly how many steps I’ve taken is almost equal to how much work I’ve put into the day. I found myself trying to use the default apple tracker but found it could make mistakes that genuinely set back the step goals I would have for the day. I’ve never encountered anything close to that issue with the StepsApp. Every day my steps are accurately calculated and my goals can be adjusted for what my need are at any time. Easy 5 out of 5, does everything it needs to and exceeds its competitors.

Only app of its kind !. This app is fantastic! Initially, I thought it was just another step counter, especially since Apple already offers one. However, when my mother sent me a link to join, I was pleasantly surprised by how engaged I became. The "scoreboard" feature really motivates me to walk more, and I’ve shared this experience with my husband, children, and siblings. Now, we all participate in a healthy and friendly competition, which has significantly increased my daily motivation to get in those extra steps. What I appreciate most is that the app doesn’t overwhelm you with notifications; it only sends a few reminders to keep you engaged and to help you track your progress against your goals and friends within the app. Overall, I believe this is one of the most enjoyable and user-friendly apps out there! Keep up the great work, Stepps!

It’s a decent app. 2 years ago I weighed in at 220 at 16 years old. I was definitely overweight and I wanted to just do mild things to help me to lose some. After 9 months I ended up weighing roughly 130 pounds by age 17. All by counting 10,000 steps a day and by doing other exercises like lifting and just going out in the sun and doing other activities day by day. Either way I think the main issue I had prior was I’d stay inside too much. If you just change up your diet a little and go outside more you’re bound to shed some pounds. I never spent a day in the gym. But I lost more weight then most do in the gym. (To be fair most people go to the gym to get toned or to gain muscle mass but regardless I feel like if someone reads this they’ll get the point I’m tryna get across)either way. Really nice app. It’s done a lot for me.

Helps keep me motivated. I have an office job so I’m sitting at a desk all day. After the new year I really wanted a change and began to do daily steps where I would walk in place at my desk for an hour and 40 minutes. I eventually looked in the App Store for a step counter and this was the first one that popped up for me with the highest rated reviews. I absolutely love it and ended up purchasing it for the entire year once my free week trial was over. It helps keep me organized and counts my steps pretty accurately. It’s begun to give me little notifications of “almost reached half your goal!” “Almost there!” “So close to reaching your daily goal!” And they actually make me happy to see those simple little notifications because it means I’m making a change in my daily health. I have it set for 10,000 steps a day and it’s so easy to change your daily goal and even has a cute blue circle that moves as you walk. Once it’s full and you reach your goal it has a nice “sparkly” look to it for a moment and you feel good about reaching your goal. It’s very organized and easy to read and has a charts graph for every day so you can see how well you did each day for the week. I’m someone who doesn’t have an Apple Watch so this app is really great to have on my phone. I highly recommend it to anyone else who is wanting something organized to keep track of your daily movement

walks. Hi l really like an love walking l’ve probably improved my walks an heaps of steps l’ve done 12’789 steps before l don’t remember the numbers l actually did but it’s 12 thousand steps l recommend this app to anyone who loves walking or wants to start there walking steps journey they say it’s never to late to start something new :)

Amazing app. StepsApp is an extraordinary app allowing you to track your steps throughout the day. You can also invite friends and compete against them to see who gets the most steps. I think this is a great app and I would highly recommend it for you.

Useful app. Very easy to use, good step logger and is overall really good for me as I am trying to move more instead of just sitting down. I like the widgets and the info it shows but wish for a couple of extra things. 1) Live Activities would also the steps logged instead of just the time since the activity started. 2) I could set reminders in the app itself to remind me to get up and walk.

Simple, Reliable, and Keeps You Moving. I’ve been using this steps pedometer app for a few weeks now, and overall, it’s a solid and reliable fitness tracker for everyday use. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, showing your daily step count, distance walked, and calories burned. It syncs smoothly with my phone’s health data and doesn’t drain the battery much, which is a big plus. I particularly like the daily and weekly progress charts it keeps me motivated without being overwhelming. The reminder feature to get up and move if you’ve been inactive for a while is subtle but effective. On the downside, the free version has occasional ads and some features are locked behind a paywall. Still, for basic step tracking, this app does the job well.

Tracking my journey. Trying to increase levels of fitness and lose weight can be boring, however, the tracker makes it a game. Checking out how many steps, calories used and time taken makes you a competitor; you’re in a race with yourself, who’ll win today? Can you beat yourself tomorrow? That chance to deter yourself from being bored and/or negative makes a big difference. Thanks StepsApp Pedometer - I’m going to win this game!!!

Review of step counting app. I used to count my steps using an abacus, slate and piece of chalk. As someone who walks in sandals and a toga, let me tell you, my old ways were cumbersome and time consuming. Now I have more hours in the day I can really focus my energy on the things that matter, such as body dysmorphia and counting the bacteria in my faecies. Thank you Step App, you’ve changed my life.

Measuring daily steps increases activity. Using this app caused me to increase my daily steps incrementally, stop using the car for some small trips, start walking to work instead of driving, etc. Having the measurement and seeing it go up makes me happier. I particularly like having it count my steps while cutting the lawn.

Too easy. I’ve found the ‘Steps’ app to be very easy to use and personally I think the free version would do the job for most people as it does for me. I’m recovering from a leg op and preparing for 2 more on my knees and I’m unable to work until then, so this app has been absolutely brilliant, both user/performance wise and cost wise (free!). Best of this type of app out there easily. Too easy.

No extra Cost fitness. I found this really good because I did not have to pay extra to buy any level up if I didn’t want to. there is no need to buy anything to track your steps… Of course, for extra add-ons, its costs something, but even that’s not that expense.

Rating StepsApp. Steps App is my personal favourite app to use to track my steps. I have tried other apps but they have never been as qualified and well designed as StepsApp. I rated StepsApp a 5-Star rating because of this reason and it really helps me achieve my goal of steps per day . Thank you to the creator of this App.

Don't upgrade, literally no difference. I have been using this app for months now and I recently decided to upgrade to the paid version. It promised to give me workouts, track better with navigation etc. And literally is has been no difference, this was such a waste of money, i would like to have a refund. Also the workouts that was promised, is just a timer for walking or a hike.. i was expecting different types of workouts such as yoga, strength training exercises.

Great app for looking at trends and historical data.. This is a great app for looking at personal bests and historical data. While you can get the data from Apple fitness, it’s raw data and the trends and bests don’t go back far enough. This app gets the data a presents it really well. I’m now chasing my best ever month all the way from 8 years ago!

Easy Enforcer. As we get older (we are 78) we need to continue to keep up our healthy living. This includes walking about 4 times a week along with other exercise. The Step App allows is to keep a record of our walking that makes us appreciate what we have achieved We find it an essential part of our healthy living regime Bob

The Best Way To Count Your Walk. I like how much time I can walk, because I can’t count how much i walk every day without losing count. This app is like you don’t have to count every single step you walk you can do 10,000 steps a day or 60,000 steps a day. If your doing exercise. To be honest. I do 60,000 steps per day you can do whatever you like. Also. (TELL YOUR FRIENDS IF YOU WANT TO RACE THEN AND SEE HOW MUCH STEPS YOU FID MORE THAN THEM!!)

StepsApp Great!. I have only used the step counter so far but it really brings home your thoughts on exercise. Walking of course is one of the best exercises for all ages and as a Senior I have once again become interested in keeping up the steps. My partner saw my results and downloaded steps on her iPhone and loves it and is so motivated. Gezz 00

one and only step tracker. I have never left a review before but thought I must for this app! this step tracker is so reliable, I’m thrilled i can use my phone for this sort of thing. I hate the feeling of wearing a watch and I’m disadvantage salary wise so having this app and not spending on fitbits and other stupid applications means so much to me. I have been consistently walking my 10,000 steps and have changed my weight from 117kg to 76kg. Truely thank you and truely I can’t recommend this app enough.

Where did my steps go?. Been using this app in my Apple Watch for over a year now and had no issues, the last few days tho, it’s been deleting my steps throughout the day. Went for a massive walk this morning, my steps were in the 8000’s looked at the app 2 hours later and I was down to 6000 steps, 5 hours later my steps are in the 16,000’s the. I unlock my watch and it’s back to 8000..... I have to send my step count to my trainer daily and I’m getting in trouble for not meeting my daily goal because the app keeps removing my steps 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Helps me heaps. This is a great it’s not the app that doesn’t work it’s ur own self. Sabotaging ur own fight to become a better version of yourself. I know this because it’s how I feel each and every day. Why can’t I get out of the rut. I just wish I had friends that where encouraging me alone the way…

Good stats function. This app is great for measuring your exercise on a daily based. The stats are awesome and easily viewed within the app. I gamify it by making sure I increase my annual step count as some days or weeks I don’t make the target. You can only manage what you can measure🤣

Counting my StepsApp. I have used StepsApp for 2 years..ever since COVID broke and I wanted use my time proactively. Honestly, it is simply the BEST app! It is accurate in its data collection of how many kilometres I have done! Another feature I love is that I can compare my daily walks to what I did yesterday, last week or even last year! It’s a Huge Thumbs up from me!!

StepsApp. Is exactly what it says. Simple and I love it 🥰. Every night before bed I can’t wait to see how well I went and if I reached my goal. I don’t have a watch and haven’t spent money for the pro pack. Still love it 😊 I’m sure having a watch and subscription would be even better. Thank you for your StepsApp. I’ll be sure to let other’s know.

Simple and not intrusive. (Updated October 2024) UPDATE: I now have an Apple Watch and despite the plethora of apps which measure activity I still use this app to see at a glance how far I’ve walked/run, how many steps I’ve taken (there’s a calorie counter but I do t really care about that). As I wrote in my initial review, I love that there’s no need to open the app for it to do its thing, which is great because I’d rather not spend half my time programming instead of just moving on with life (literally)! ⭐️x10! INITIAL REVIEW: I don’t wear a smart watch so my steps are only measured when I’m carrying my phone. This app is great for me as opposed to other apps which harass you and make you feel terrible when you may not get in as many steps as you’d like.

So good for a free app. This app is generally the best steps app there is it’s pro is just for nerds 95% of the app is free and it tells you your avg days, weeks, months and even years. It also lets you set daily goals and records your steps for ever. It is live so you can frequently see if you are doing more/less then usual at the EXACT time of the day. Hope this helped your position. ~Marcus

Crockwalker. Have been using this app for about three years now. It is exactly what I require in relation to my daily walk. Would recommend paying for the upgrade, the price is one off and minimal, information is much more comprehensive. Overall I think it is the best walking or running app there is, also no adds , I would highly recommend it.

Don’t bother with other pedometer apps. Previously, I was using an old app called “moves” I actually thought nothing could come close to it however ‘steps’ is truly the on the leader board and the best pedometer app going. Simple, awesomely clean and polished among its predecessors. The only thing I would could fault is there needs to be more updates, they have been far and from in the past however the last update has been a massive improvement on its previous version Well done to the developers, with every cent.

Simple, effective, engaging. Before settling on StepsApp, I tried at least a half dozen other tracking apps. They were confusing, overly complicated, intrusive, or filled with too much “fluff”. I just want a thing to track my daily steps/distance, keep me accountable, and allow me to track my longer term distance goals (targeting 2026km in 2026)… and this has been perfect!

A suggestion. I've been using this app for a few years and love it. One thing I would like to see added is, if I go for a run, or walk, I'd like to specifically count my steps so as to calculate the distance. I know I could check how many steps of taken before starting the walk and then deduct them after my run/walk but it would be good to have a button to push as I go out and when I return.

Stepping my way back to healthiness and happiness. I was looking for an app that would allow me to track my daily steps and send me words of encouragement and motivation for how well I am doing. Steps ticked that box and many more for me. After the free trial period, I already knew my subscription payments would be an annual; as I was so pleasantly surprised by all the addition information, advice and options the app gave me. 10 out of 10 from this reviewer.

StepsApp. This app is excellent. I can view on my Apple Watch and on iPhone. It’s simple to use and it has less functions on the app. It also syncs both with the iPhone and the watch. With other apps similar to this one that doesn’t sync nor work with the Apple devices.

Please add km to the week bar graphs. Love the app. Because of this app’s capability tracking my steps. I am now walking on average 17,922 steps this month, compared to 7,335 the month before. Roughly 12km daily. Your app is keep me accountable too. Awesome. Thanks man!! One feature I’d love to see, is the “km” walked for the day, shown within the vertical bar graphs on the “steps > week tab”. Currently it shows only the steps for that day that the top of the bar. Would be great to see the “km” too. Also please add, average km walked too. Rest of the app is superb!! Thanks.

Amazing app, with great insight and statistics. It gives you so much information regarding graphs, weekly/monthly/yearly quoters. Even the little badgers they give you gives you motivation to walk that little bit further to earn them. I’ve definitely walked more in 2024 on a whole since downloading this app. #recommend.

Good. Fortunately, this is an app that you can really use without having to pay. Not sure what the extra features are… I just wanted it to count my steps and it does! It’s on your phone and your phone goes everywhere, it’s just easier than wearing a fit bit, which you have to charge all the time. I charge two things when you can just use your phone.

Absolute must for anyone. I have used this app for a long time. It’s not only important to me to understand how many steps I’ve walked a day, but also for motivation and to compare with previous weeks and months. I highly recommend this app to everyone. You will soon find how handy it is and it’s absolutely free!

Version 8.0.11: great pedometer app + how to make it better. NOTE: This review is about the paid version. PROS: It’s as beautiful as it looks in the preview screenshots. It updates your steps quickly, a lot quicker than Apple’s Health app. You can add a badge that shows the steps taken that day. The animations, like the little person walking as you walk, are a nice touch. The circumference of each circle around each measurement fill up as you go along, making it easy to see how much of each goal you’ve done. I like the chime that it makes when we reach the daily goal. The Dark Theme is easy on the eyes - every app should have this option. The widget is excellent - it updates in real-time and you can customise which data you see. No annoying logins and passwords - this app’s developer doesn’t want to know what you ate for breakfast, so relax. The WEEK tab shows the average-steps for the week when you hold on a particular day, and it shows the average on the graph as a dotted line. HOW TO MAKE IT BETTER: Show the daily-average in the “Day”, “Week”, and “Month” tabs so that it’s always visible. Add the option to switch off the "__% of Daily Steps" notifications - I just want to know when I’ve hit the goal. The preview-video shows a workouts-icon in the top-right corner, but it’s not in the app. Either update the video, or restore the workouts-icon. Add the option to exclude floors-climbed from the app. When we tap on a date on the calendar in the MONTH tab, it should be the same date when we switch to the DAY or WEEK tab. The DAY tab breaks down the day, and the WEEK tab breaks down the week - so the MONTH tab should break down the month (with weekly totals on the graph), instead of comparing monthly totals. Change the WEEK tab’s bar-graph to a line-graph. On the “Goals” tab, put the toggle-buttons next to each goal. On the “Goals” tab, add the ability to set a goal to zero so that we don’t have to see it. Show the distance in metres so that we can see changes quicker. Make it easier to see which features are only available in the paid version - perhaps use a different-coloured font. After a circle is completed, change the colour of the circumference so it’s easier to see progress after the goal. CONCLUSION: A great app, with a little room for improvement - 5 stars.

Really good until recently 😢. I loved this app until just recently. I even paid the one time fee for premium as it wasn’t much. - However recently steps are not appearing in the step app but will do in health and fitness app. - I have gone in today being Thursday and the only stats that are in there are for Sunday and 26 steps for Monday. This is happening more and more and I’m not sure how to fix it other delete it again and again. Buy ☺️

Great free app. I have used this app for a couple of years now. One of the most pressed squares on my phone screen! Have only briefly explored paid version - so can’t praise or complain - but I’m sure it would be worthwhile if you have a bit of extra cash. Free version has minimal ads and annoyances.

Exactly what I was looking for! Great app!. I’ve been using this app for over a year now and I can’t fault it. It was exactly what I wanted in tracking steps and other trends - looks great, works smoothly, no issues with syncing, has nifty features and also has widgets for iPhone.

Reg de. This is a pretty good app for some cardio because it tells u how much u have walked, how much calories u have burned and also u can set different goals like putting ur daily step goal higher or ur calories and stuff. But the most important and useful thing is that it tell you how much u have walked, burned calories, for how long etc every week

Your Step Count Motivates You!!. I have been walking around with Steps for a couple of years. The fact it shares this information with my Apple Watch & phone is fantastic & motivational! It works… I would pay for the app if it was less expensive.

Way more than a pedometer app :-). Having got an Apple Watch my wife and I found that the previous pedometer apps we had been using for confused and couldn’t consistently count steps between the phone and watch. So after trying several different apps, I’ve settle on this one. Lovely interface, great integration into the watch workouts, and lots of widgets and options to target goals. We spent the $4.95 Australian once off for the upgrade for full Watch integration happily, and I have deleted all the other applications.

Heads Up. Fantastic app to just look at the APP and instantly see how far you have walked without opening it. Saves you time with the app to display at a glance your own progress. Wow what can I say other than keep it up guys. ✅✅✅ Over the past 3 months I have lost 2.5KG. Really feeling great.

Love it. Best pedometer App. Occasionally it glitches with my watch and I have to manually sync both. New streak are awesome. I’ve tried every pedometer and this one is by far the best. The only problem I have is with updates. It doesn’t say anything on the app. In Apple Health when you check data sources if you check, like today there was an update required. It would be great if the app said update available. Apart from that I highly recommend

One of the best walking apps out there but... You need the ability to start a walk just using your phone, when you don’t have your Apple Watch…. Wow they did this, I use it all the time 😄. Recent upgrade late 2025 is awesome some beautiful. I really do use this app everyday ❤️❤️

Tracks when you shake the phone. I noticed when I had the app open I was moving some stuff around on my bench with my phone in my hand and the numbers start going up when I moved my phone forward and back. This isn’t good for getting an accurate reading my steps. What if when I’m in the car it tracks every bump and pothole I go over? If this issue can be fixed please so I can have an accurate reading throughout the day. I’d prefer not to use multiple and then take averages everyday.

Gets me going. The app has been a great tool to get me going and understanding a little more about what I do in regards to exercise and calories, and my current and required calories intake I currently have through light and easy-the understanding of what exercise I need to burn a certain amount of calories has been the most beneficial Regards Jason

Best free step app!. I was a bit dubious about this app at 1st as other reviews mentioned the ads. I’m glad I didn’t listen as it’s an awesome app! I have the free version as I already have workout apps on my phone, I have found it to be accurate with the steps and love the fact it offers distance, kcal info and minutes of your last long walk. I have had a few ads pop up but nothing to write home about, it isn’t constant and they are very quick. A* app from me.

Has great potential. I really like this app, especially the hourly graph, which gives you the number of steps taken in that hour, which is something I had been looking for. I had some problems with the app not updating after I updated to iOS 16.2, but after reporting it to the developer, he was quick to update his app with a fix, and I’m enjoying using it again.

Works pretty good, but…. I used to use iOS Health app because it constantly updated steps as you walked. A few years back it stopped doing this so I started using Steps as it updated as I wished. As of a year ago it also started locking up on counting steps and would only update irregularly or with a forced restart. I notified the devs and they took my complaint onboard, and with a few updates it became more regular. But it still doesn’t reliably update steps constantly. Still, a good, workable app.

Perfect app for walking etc. I love the way this app seamlessly integrates with my Apple Watch and iPhone - I don’t even need to activate an outdoor walk as it just keeps on gathering data and allows me to show it on my watch face. Upgraded for a couple of features but mainly out of respect for the devs! Well done

Great app. Absolutely love the app, gives you access to a casual person whose just trying to keep a daily count of steps/times/and kj lost without requiring me to spend a dime, but of course I can and do plan on buying the full app in the future when I plan on going hardcore fit in the future!

Rating. The app is genuinely amazing but it didn’t track my steps correctly for 2 days and those 2 days were the days where I made the most walking due to my activities I had and since it went below my goal for each day I lost the streak and I know it’s not that deep but it sucks that I have to completely restart when I did more steps than the goal every day and then I walked even more on those two days ☺️ I don’t know if it’s possible to give me my 18 day streak or to answer me but it would be definitely appreciated if you can.

Functional Motivation App. I’ve been using the app for two years now. Very functional and easy to use. I like the props popping as notifications pushing me to my goals 💪 everyday!

Steps. Excellent .

Love it. So easy to read and I feel inspired to exercise and walk more so that I can reach my goal!!

Works well. Easy to set up , seems to be accurate . I sure am putting on a lot of k’s.

Steps app. I love this app so much. Gamifies the whole walking process and gives you a fun way to hit your steps. I’ve lost a couple pounds of pure fat ever since I’ve started walking w this app. Grateful for this app and its developers.

Great step tracker. Keeps you motivated free of charge 😇

Mrs. Much better than last one I tried!

Good. Good for tracking your steps

Worst app I could ever get. You literally need a iPhone 5 and a motion detector and I have a iPad and this app says it’s for 4+ well how the hell could a 4 year old have a iPhone so make it so everyone can use it :P

Not free. When I looked up free apps for counting my steps. This showed up but when I downloaded it, it wants a monthly fee, no thanks.

Reliable and encouraging.. What can I say -- always there, always counting. Easy to see your records and the deviation from your goals

User friendly 👍‼️. Just enter your step goal, which you can change anytime, and you're all set! The only thing you need to remember is to keep you phone on you at all time.

Great Tool. A great companion when walking the streets and trails. It works extremely well and has a very high standard of accuracy 🏆

Wildly inaccurate. I like the style of the app, but the step counter is wildly inaccurate, adding steps as I sleep, or adding steps while I am sitting for dinner. This may be a good thing for some people, as it’s less steps they have to take, for me this makes it very hard to track whether I’ve actually hit my goals or not.

Great app. Great app to track steps

Long term. Been a great app until recently. Lately it’s always 500-1000 steps behind, and no matter what you do, close it out, tap it, etc, it won’t catch those steps up until up to 15-30 minutes later. Quite frustrating after being such an accurate app for so long.

Go go. Super application

Lots of Data. Challenges and followings friends are good to motivate you for more steps.

Excellent!. Keeps me motivated and I like the user face.

Awesome app. None better. Deleted every single one I tried till this. Incredible UI.

Love it. Best app that I use

Best app. The only app i use on a daily basis

Like it. I like it as a step counter. Problem is I forget my device half the time!

Great step app Pedometer. I really like this app. I really like the free part. I like the fact that I get notifications and positive reinforcement when I do something good or when I need to keep on going. I love the fact I can look and see the equivalency to the floors that I have walked.. This app is a keeper keeper!!

New changes. I’ve been using this app with my apple watch for a good 8 months now and i liked it. But recently im hit with an ad every five seconds. I refresh my steps? Ad. I linger on the app too long? Ad. I breath? Ad. Stop this nonsense.

Great for tracking. I love how it track your progress.

Question. Can we connect the fit bit to the this app in the phone

Review. Excellent app. Using from last two years. Only thing missing is absence of encouraging messages to do more to stay fit. Otherwise I love it.

The Great Gregorian. This is my favourite app and I have a few. Good job guys for motivating lots of people.

Best Steps App I’ve Tried!!. Get it if you’ve been thinking about it! Definitely worth it and connects to my Apple Watch!!

Motivational App. Since I got this app I have been walking more! I enjoy doing my vocal warm ups, looking at flowers and connecting more with friends and family on my walks. Thank you!!!

Great App. Love it, using it to check my daily steps.

Great app. Does everything I need. Works great with Apple Watch and shares data with health app.

Steps. Love it

Gail. Love it. I don’t need to wear a pedometer this app is great I love how it tells me when I am close to my goal.

Review. Good app very well done

TOO many POP UPs and up selling. I like the app , just started to use it a few weeks ago. It’s disappointing to have a barrage of pop ups trying to get me to buy this and that - if I don’t click on them I am prevented from seeing my step score. There is a lot of up selling to get the PRO. Not cool. Let me know is if there is a workaround.

Super. Vraiment intéressante cette application que j’utilise depuis plus d’un an maintenant

Love it. Been using the app for a year or so; ads are a little annoying but otherwise love it.

Easy to use. Love the features. Love that I can see daily, weekly, monthly and yearly step totals

Great app. I love this app and been using it for almost 8 years now. Great user interface and lots of options to personalize it the way you like it.

Best walking app. They count steps accurately and show you your result faster

Tegvir Paintal. Really amazing app. Very detailed Scientific precision. Would highly recommend. A must have for fitness enthusiasts.

Love it. It’s helped so much with tracking steps and calories only thing I wish is that I could log my workouts since I’m not able to have my phone on me at all times

Can’t live without this app. The BEST. My Favourite

Worth the subscription. Honestly love the aesthetic of the app and very functional. Worth the subscription in my opinion

It does the job. This is my go-to step tracker. Easy to read and use.

Almost perfect.. Just missing more possible configurations for viewing on Apple Watch. Update: Apple Watch configurations have been added. :)

Helpful and well constructed!. Prefect for the busy and conscientious person who wants to track everyday activities!

Great app!. Retired and in RV resort for winter season. Love the step counter/distance and time as a way to mark my daily activity. Send record occasionally to health care providers. I continue to walk daily though with more family visiting since we now have an AZ room with foldout bed it has been more of a challenge to maintain my regimen. Back in January 2024 during Arizona winter season at our resort. Walking 5-10,000 a day depending on activities. Appreciate the steps counter. Love it as is and free! Thanks!! April 2024, getting ready to leave for Midwest for summer. Still appreciate the simplicity of the step app to record my activities of each day. No other services desired. Thanks, Phil

Perfect until very recently. I’ve enjoyed this near-perfect app for the past 2 or 3 years UNTIL this past week. The steps counter functions properly for a time then stops for multiple minutes or longer however the calorie counter and distance function just give up altogether. If I go to another steps tracking app and return, the steps will usually be caught up but not so the other functions. Hours later long after my walk has been completed I take a look at the app which looks as if the totals are then correct but perhaps short a bit. VERY disconcerting. I’m paying money for this and I walk usually between 6 and 10 mi daily 7 days a week. PLEASE repair ASAP!

Completely Inaccurate!. It states that it get the data from the Health App but in all cases it reports less steps than the Health App. Yesterday for example the Health App showed that I did 13,656 steps and this app only shows 9,592. A HUGE difference! My brother had told me about this App. I had him check his data and it too has inaccurate step counts! Certainly not worth having even for free!! Better off using the native Apple Health App!!! Update: And to make matters worse, it blocks the AutoSleep app that I have. Wasn't sure why my AutoSleep app wasn't working and ending up deleting and reinstalling and lost all my prior Sleep history. The only part I have to get was the few days where this stupid Steps App was blocking my Apple Watch from reporting my sleep. Needless to say but the Steps App is deleted and never will down load again. Stay clear of it! Update: We both have Apple watches and watch data must be manually enabled from the app. This is pretty poor, it should be on by default if the user has an Apple Watch!

Periot. THIS APP IS GREAT!! It’s interesting to see how many steps you take a day. I’m always focused on reaching my goal that is labeled on the app which makes me want to walk more just so I can beat it everyday. It gives me a great source of exorcize which I really like because I didn’t like taking walks before this and I like the change. You don’t have to take walks or runs to meet your goal either. You can do anything as long as your taking steps as you do it. It will detect it and bring up your number for the day. I haven’t paid for anything and I don’t think I will. This app is good the way it is without the extra stuff.

Walking to Good Health. I LOVE StepsApp because it keeps me inspired. The instant info it provides for steps, calories, heart rate, etc. are constant motivators. As a 72-year-old who has spent much of his life with no desire for exercise (thinking it involved only hard and tedious workouts) I was overjoyed to find that merely walking was the best (and easiest) form of exercise for anyone at any age. I literally walk 60-70 miles per week, and seeing those miles reflected on my watch and phone “push” me to walk even more. Thank you, StepsApp creators. You have made me a healthier (and lighter by almost 50 pounds) and happier person. Onward!

Great App for keeping track. This app does what it says, it counts your steps. However, if you put your phone in your purse and then put your purse in a shopping cart, it misses a lot of steps. But that’s fine. I carry my phone in a small shoulder strap purse. But what also great is it counts calories you’re burning; it tracks you steps for the day; for the week; and for the month. And, you can go back to previous months to compare how you did. I don’t use the purchase app for this as I’m on a limited income. But that provides more benefits including no ads.

It’s good but... I’ve been using steps for about like a week or two and it’s rlly good I’m glad you could do atleast a bit of things without paying, I rlly wish there was more things to do and real life movement tracking would be nice especially for those who paces around their rooms it’s a bit inaccurate when counting steps because it stops and then starts again and I really wish for it to be fixed because people really think that’s the amount of steps they took, the amount of time is also off cuz the steps are off too so please fix that.

Nice app and convenient to use to track steps w phone. I have been using this application for about six months and found it to be extremely convenient when I don’t want to wear my Apple Watch to track steps and activity. It seems to be accurate, and I enjoy reviewing the progress reports that it offers within the application. This allows me to see how I’ve done over the history of time since using the application. It also sinks with the iPhone and Apple health. I feel comfortable recommending this application to others.

Great app!. I only have the free version of this App and it is definitely what I needed - which for the pedometer. BUT - it, also, counts calories; calculates miles walked; and gives hours that it has detected your movement. Tha’s in addition to counting my (your) steps! It also gives you a weekly and monthly counts of the amount of steps you have, as well as a graph to quickly view your steps overtime - I believe in a weekly increment. There are a few more perks about it you can learn about by downloading. Now, I can only image what the App you purchase can do - it’s probably similar to a Fitbit!

Free Version does what I need. I’ve been using the free version for a while now. It allows a small amount of customization, such as adjusting the number of steps goal. It also allowed me to adjust the measurement of the length of my stride, so I have a more accurate picture of how many miles I walk. It doesn’t glitch and I’ve had it through several iOS updates. I’m using an iPhone XR on iOS 16. The ads for premium appear, but are easy to give a “No thanks.” The limited customization is all I need and the free app is all I’ve used. I’m pleased and definitely recommend this app.

Very Simple to use. So I have this app on my Apple Watch and can view my activity off my watch. I don’t have the paid version, however I mainly use it to track my steps. Now I do compare my steps with the app and with the actual Apple Watch steps and notice it’s a bit off. So I wouldn’t take those steps to heart but it does give you a good idea on how many steps you walk throughout the day. I would definitely recommend the app.. give it a shot.. for me it works great with my Apple Watch and great when I’m out playing Pokémon go if I lose track of steps 😅

Not too shabby👍🏼. Ive been using this app for about a year. Got it when I started hiking. I had a Fitbit, had a horrific allergic reaction that left my wrist scarred. So I thought I’d give this a try. I like it. It’s idiot proof. I’m sure it’s not completely accurate at counting the floors I’ve climbed while hiking, but it gives you a general idea. More than anything, just being able to look at the month & see days that the circle isn’t complete & not filled in, motivates me. I want to see the month w as many days filled in. So you put in a little extra work & feel good that you achieved your set goals! Ideally I’d like something that was specific to hiking & running stairs. But this has done the job. Get it.

Pretty good. I like the way it’s set up and it’s super easy to use. It basically works by using the step counter built in to the iPhone health app that I wasn’t aware of until this app asked me for access to it. It’s a delayed at times but that might be the Wi-Fi. I like that I don’t have to wear and charge a separate device but it also means that I have to have my phone with me at all times. I bought a small purse that is just a wallet with a shoulder strap and my phone fits in the side pocket. It’s only been a week but it’s getting to move more than my smartwatch that I either forgot to put on or forget to charge. One device is better I think.

Works really well and super helpful, however.... I gave it 4 *’s instead of 5 because it does count steps you’re not taking if you move your phone the wrong way... side to side/shaking type movements. If you’re looking for a spot on accurate step counter, fit bit type watches might be the better option... they are however 35-$150. If you you’re fine with a fairly accurate... maybe 50-70 off per 1000 at worst... that is also FREE (deluxe no ads etc version $2.99) then this ones is just great. I’m just looking to hit around 8-12k per day and want a reasonable idea of what I’m hitting. I do intend to get a fit bit eventually so I don’t have to have my phone with me to record steps. This is awesome for now though.

Accurate step tracking and user friendly. In the world of fitness tracking and health management, StepsApp Pedometer stands out as a user-friendly and effective app tailored for anyone looking to monitor their daily physical activity. The application features clear, simple graphics that showcase your step count, distance, and calories burned at a glance. The app provides insights not just on steps taken but also on progression over time, including monthly reports to help you set and achieve goals. It allows users to focus purely on their fitness journey without interruptions.

StepsApp I must say has always been reliable!. I’ve been using the StepsApp from the day it came out and only has gotten better with each update and like to say thank you to the developer or developers on quick follow up if you reach out plus for always continuing to improve or add latest features within the app. Truly looking forward to any major next upgrade or app, apps you might have coming out. PS: not sure if you have a need for beta testers but I would be down to help if you ever have a need to add another one. I do this for a few other app provides. Thanks again!

Awesome app. Up-up-Up up update….stiil loving this app. have 2 daughtes and the wife loving the app. We set challenges between us. Up-update: this keeps getting better and easier to use. UPDATE: still love this app. Great motivator to keep me going. After several years of using, no complaints. I like the ability to adjust my goals as i increase my activity level. Syncs great with my apple watch and notifies when i need to move more and when avgoal is met. The $2.99 upgrade is worth it, i like the one and done. The apps with the monthly dues are a problem with me. No problems yet, will update down the road.

Accuracy is on point!. My family and I love this app. Yes, it requires you to carry your phone with you wherever you go in order to count your steps. But all you have to do is set your step goal, achieve it and even if you forget to carry your phone during movement. But don’t look at it as a waste of movement rather it just encourages to set the phone goal even though your gadget wasn’t with you. I’ve been using this for a little only two months and it challenges me to up or meet my step goals each week and each day. The self comparison is everything. You challenging yourself with your own previous actions.

Love, love love!. I took my first walk using this app and it worked very well. It was fun watching my step count go up and to watch my progress. Will update again soon **Update** I love how this app is always on and it tracks my calories, steps, and minutes. Very user friendly and it will be great to see what I accomplished at the end of the week/month. **Update** What I really love is that this runs in the background without any GPS, yet it still tracks steps, distance, time, and kcals (I’m still using the free version). Apps that use GPS run the battery down. This does not. So loving this app and the developer responded! 🥰 how cool is that tho!

Apple Watch or IPhone interaction. Whether you are on Apple Watch or iPhone you have access to counter, it’s a plus you can monitor calories, distance walked and how long you have which is a plus. I like it syncs to health app on iPhone so you always have a record and can keep track of daily, weekly or monthly if ya choose. I’ve tested out several step apps and they only did step counter and distance. There are so many extras but these are the biggest perks I look for in these types of apps. I started out with free for a few days and went to yearly premium as it’s such a worth it app.. Thank You

Gotta LOVETT. My wife has a iPhone, which keeps track of all of her steps in mileage but I’ve been wearing a third generation Rolex submariner for 25 years and I refuse to give it up for some crappy looking I iPhone watch ha ha but I wanted to be able to count my steps, especially if my wife’s not with me and this app has fulfilled that need marvelously and in fact, I have recommended it several friends and my mother-in-law, all of which have paid the $20 purchase price; which is more than fair for the time and effort it took to design such an easy fun app highly recommend!

Love this app but?. Have been using this app for years and it’s so beneficial to my daily exercise routine. Would have rated it a 5 but lately have had problems with the inaccurate recording of the steps and mileage. As an example every day I have a morning routine of walking four miles. Today the app only recorded 1.9 miles. I know this was inaccurate because the time recorded correctly at 2 hours. This has happened several times in the past few weeks so if there is a fix or way to make an adjustment please let me know. Otherwise thank you for a great app!

Great app. Is a great app as long as you have your phone on you. The reason I only gave 4 stars is because I have the same app on my Apple Watch and they don’t sync with each other. Fix that and will be 5 stars for sure. Update to previous review; I was contacted by the developer of the StepsApp Pedometer through email and with a few simple steps in my iPhone and iWatch settings, all is good now. All of my physical activity has been synced since 2017. Thank you for the help and development of this must have app if you want to track your physical activity. I highly recommend this app to everyone.

Kinda slow. So the app is good in my opinion, but the problem is I will take a while for the steps to load so let’s say you go on a 3 mile walk it won’t show that you walk 3 miles for a minute but if you refresh the app and come back in a couple of minutes to show that you have of reached your goal but the other problem is they have a pro fish which unlocked a whole bunch of stuff but I think it’s kind of expensive what is deafly every day app connect your Apple health uses your Apple Watch or any other type of watch compared to the Fitbit Alta actually better than Fitbit but you

Maybe the best one!. I’ve tried 5-6 pedometers for iPhone and now Apple Watch. I really love how this one displays all your info, especially being able to see your week at a glance - that helps keep me motivated. The one improvement I’d love to see is how your steps display on the Apple Watch main home screen. I wish it would only show steps so I could see it larger. Right now with all 3 pieces of data, they wind up tiny, even for me with 20/20 vision. Or at least at way that users could control what is displayed may be good. But overall, I find this to be the most comprehensive one and have deleted all the other ones that I’ve used.

Fantastic Step Tracker - Simple, Accurate, and Motivating!. I’ve tried several step tracking apps, and this one stands out! It’s incredibly easy to use, with a clean, intuitive interface that tracks my daily steps effortlessly. The accuracy is spot on, and I love the daily goals feature that keeps me motivated. Plus, the integration with Apple health data is seamless, making it a one-stop app for all my fitness tracking. Whether I’m going for a light walk or a long run, this app keeps me on track. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay active and reach their fitness goals!

Wrong about stair count.. I've been using this app for a few years. I use my Apple Watch Series 6 for step counting and it's paired with the app. It has a little more functionality than the apple activity app & it doesn't cost anything. But the count on the number of stairs is always wrong. It's always way under counting the number of floors of stairs I walk through out the day. For example, I did the Watkins Glen Gorge trail in Watkins Glen, NY. There are an estimated 800 stairs along the trail. That should be around 35 floors. This app logged 5 floors of stairs. I'd rather they didn't have stairs in the app at all rather than show an inaccurate number.

I love this so much. Got my partner hooked on it as well.. This app has honestly helped me and has motivated me to walk so much more. I’d go even further to say that it has changed my relationship with physical activity and exercise. Ever since i downloaded it I’ve been so excited to check it every few hours to make sure I’m reaching my goal. It has honestly changed my mindset. I used to dread walking too much and now I park in the furthest parking at the mall, purposely take stairs. It’s amazing honestly. The widgets are amazing and the design is amazing as well, i really love it. :)

Sankofa 99. The step app is a great help in me staying fit. Helps to make me a role model to others. My electric assist recumbent Road Trike is now a part of my fitness plan. I put this phone in my sock so that my rotation of the pedal will count. The new trike is here. Thank you. The Apple Watch is here, so I may answer my phone without digging into my sock. Fitness, rest, low stress, lots of water, sunlight, good food, prayer, digestive walks after meals, kind, loving, safe and respectful people are good to be around; this is good for the mind, body and soul. Life is good! Super good and helpful. This is a great asset for maintaining fitness and wellness. My blood pressure is better. The best app for me. Yea !

Steps app I love. Would be better if they didn’t charge and pester a person to upgrade so that they can charge seems like cost of living skyrocketed now rich want to charge for everything that was free of charge like we’re making more money when many have taken a pay cut just to keep there jobs and taken a second job cuz the cost of living had quadrupled & gas quadrupled twice in the last 2 years then dropped .25 cents & our president says he’s lowering prices by .1% like he’s did a big thing good thing when he should drop prices by the 40% that he upped them at least before we notice the change & bring back the 130,000 jobs he took away his first 2 weeks in office!

Amazing app used for five years now. I have used StepsApp for five years now, and it has become an important part of my fitness routine. Most importantly, it nice to be able to look over five years of my activity and notice trends during certain months or when different things have occurred in my life. When I look at times in the last five years when I was healthiest, my step count was way up. During times when I didn’t feel so great, they were way down. Great app with a lot of features. The pro version is definitely worth it!

Wonderful walking and climbing app with no hidden costs. My wife recommended this app. I’ve been using steps daily on my IPhone for the past 2 months. Never a problem. I can take a pick of the screen and share with my fitness group. With the one time upgrade fee of only $2.80 it is a very good price for a functional app. I also like that it keeps a graph at the bottom of the screen to show the weekly and monthly progress. It motivates me to try to keep up with myself. I highly recommend this app, especially for those just starting out with walking or running.

I love this app!. I’m enjoying this app! I have the widget on my Home Screen to make it easy to see my steps. I don’t know if it’s the app or my motivation to use it but I’ve been walking 10k steps a day on average of about 4-5 days a week. My goal is 10k steps daily but I’ve been sedentary a long time so I’m still building up my consistency and stamina. But I love the other goals that I can track and measure even when I don’t quite get 10k steps, like miles, kcal, etc. It’s easy to use and has a great big bright customizable display. I also like that it feels like an extension of my fit app bc of the badges.

Work out app. So I got the app and liked how it tells you your steps, how much you lost for calories, and how many miles u ran. The reason why I’m giving this app 4 stars is because I got the app two days ago. When I got it it showed that I used this app already the whole week. Idk why it did this but at first I thought it was a public app for people to see what u have done and for u to see what they have done. I know I’m wrong but besides that it is much like a fit bit and maybe even better!! I recommend u getting this app because I can see a change on what I look like, terrific job! Well done. I use it every day and it is a real improvement! 😆

StepsApp is Awesome!. It’s been about a month since I purchased this app. It was the third step counting app I tried. The other two did not meet my needs nor did they motivate me. With this app’s clear counters and easy read outs, I have found the motivation I needed to increase my daily steps and activity level. I’ve gone from a average of 981-1,120 steps a day to consistently reaching 3,500 a day, and often exceeding that on several occasions. I spent years falling out of shape. So this small step in the right direction has improved my agility, stamina, and overall mood!

Decent but needs fixing. Good app! Used it for quite a while now! But lately for some reason it doesn’t track my steps as much I’m not sure why either but it gives me an inaccurate reading of my steps that day- as yesterday on Wednesday it was is all I did was 38 but I had been walking a lot that day and also went skating on my roller skates- maybe my pace on the skates was too fast for it to track? And possibly it though I was in a moving car? I’m not sure but other days it just won’t give me an accurate reading in general. Too many AD’s on the app but otherwise really good to use and when it does keep track properly it doesn’t very well, and it’s an easy app to use! Easy to figure out not many overly complicated settings

Are you looking for a replacement for Stepz?. I’m a refugee from Stepz. This app is a good replacement. It doesn’t track flights climbed, or offer automatic goal settling, or have the moving 7 day average. However, the free version has an icon badge showing steps and also a today widget that shows steps, calories, miles, an hourly graph, and a weekly graph. The app shows daily, weekly, and monthly stats for all data that you allow it to read from the Apple Health app. It’s great. I’ve contacted support and have gotten a rapid responses. I’ve upgraded to the Pro version (no ads) for $1.99. I highly recommend this app. Correction: App does track flights climbed.

Step Review. When beginning an exercise program that is mostly walking related, I wanted some thing that could keep me on track ,was easy to use and fun to experience . The Application Step fit my purpose perfectly. It keeps me on track with my goals. It is a good walking companion because it lets you know at a glance how far you have traveled , how much more you must do so in order to reach your goal . I highly recommend this app for its practicality, its usefulness and the fact that it is fun to use and keeps me focused on my walking goals Glenn Maxwell

No more simple display of flights climbed. I used to love this app, but with the new update, I can’t easily access my flights climbed for each of the last seven days like you could with the old version with a single tap. I don’t see any way to show the actual number of flights climbed each day; you just get a bar chart now and an average. Even today’s # of flights is buried in tiny print. Why would you make it so much more difficult to locate an important piece of data? In response to the developer response below: the information is buried so deeply in the insights page and is not displayed in the simple day-by-day format it used to be in. I want a pedometer app where the information is displayed clearly and intuitively. By overwhelming users with data, you’ve lessened the appeal of the app.

Quarantine blues. As I’m sure is happening with everyone, my monthly, weekly step have down drastically but I’m bouncing back. I maybe went out six or seven times in three months. But I’ve been taking my dog for walks around the block to check the mail and what not. Unfortunately I just broke one of my toes so that’s a setback, but I’m gonna keep at it. The badge count function on the app icon is very convenient to keep track. I think it also keeps track with great accuracy as well. So hopefully this toe heals l well. Ive got info dating back to 2014 that incredibly syncs with the Apple health app which is very convenient!

Super helpful app. Boring as this sounds, the number of steps you take has a lot to do with how healthy you stay. It’s not even about weight it’s about keeping moving and this little step tracker helps me keep motivated because walking around all the time unless you’re taking a really pretty hike sometimes walking around is super boring or sometimes you’re just tired it’s nice to have someone counting so you know how much further you have to go till you can stop and know that you took a certain amount of steps today. So yes, this isn’t ground breaking or anything but it’s a good little tool to keep you on point

Love the app! Easy to use. Easy to use and keep track of my daily progress and activities. Love the weekly and monthly recaps, goal setting tools and award icons for meeting my goals. Also, if one small change could be made to the app I would like if you could get credit for long streaks…I’m on a 32 day streak of getting over 10k steps in per day but I know if I miss 1 day my streak is over and I have to start all over. Is it possible for every 5 day streaks you can collect a credit day so if you miss a day you can still maintain your streak? Just a thought!

Concern over Data doubling. When using with Apple Watch, this app appears to double the active energy in Apple health. You summarize your own set of calories based on steps taken, and add it on top of what the watch records. But the watch would have also recorded that activity real time. This causes absolute fits when using other apps that track total calories burned through the day. I just found out today that my calorie tracking app has been giving me “bonus calories” based on this doubled data. Thankfully I don’t eat my bonus calories anyway. But I could easily see someone making that mistake. Hopefully I’m just misunderstanding something.

Steps notifications are inaccurate.. Overall, a nice beautiful app that functions well. But I feel like I won’t be using it as much now that I have the Fitness app on the Apple Watch. One huge annoyance about this app though are the notifications. There is one in particular that is supposed to notify you when you’ve been sitting down for too much and you need to get up and walk... well that would be great if it worked! I can’t tell you now many times I’ve been walking around or just finished a work out and then sit down only to receive a notification seconds later saying I’ve been sitting around too long and need to get up and move... REALLY?! I JUST sat down from walking... and you’re telling me I’ve been sitting too long and need to get up? That’s a joke. No thanks StepsApp.

Does not match Apple Watch steps. I really wanted to like this app. I love the ease of use and the way data is shown with simple graphs and completion circles. However, the steps recorded by this app are significantly less than what my Apple Watch records. This past week alone, StepsApp recorded 73k steps, while my Apple Watch shows 112k. According to my Apple Watch, I hit my 10k step goal everyday this week, while the steps app claims I was under 10k 4/7 days. Additionally, I’ve been using this app for a few months now and it has always been slow to update throughout the day. Several times, I’d be over my 10k goal for the day and I’d get a notification from this app stating, “You’re almost to 50%! Keep it up!” Unfortunately, I’m deleting the app due to these discrepancies. As much as I love the way the data is displayed, the app is not accurate enough to warrant keeping.

Frustrating. Previously I used a Fitbit, but received an Apple Watch as a gift and felt obligated to use it. I searched all over for a step counter app that matched the accuracy of the Fitbit. This was the best I could find. It is frustrating, though, when you think you’ve met your step goal for the day, then look at the app on your phone and it deducts 1000 steps! If you could fix that issue and perhaps include an alarm or buzz or something to alert you that you’ve met your goal for the day, that just might make this a 5 star app. As it stands right now, I still miss my Fitbit. 🙁

TBley. First and foremost, this is one of the best walking apps there is. I have been using it religiously since 2018 and it just keeps getting better! The most recent update is one of the best ever. They have placed a lot of time, thought, and effort to get this just right. With the new Insights and Awards section they have done a phenomenal job representing your history in various ways that provides you with insightful views on the number of steps you’ve taken. The Awards section provides you a view all of the awards you earned with helpful tips on how you can earn more. Keep up the great job!

Just OK. It measures steps OK, but it’s not great on stairs.....it doesn’t specify how many steps to qualify for registering a stairs. I’ve been down & up our basement stairs (~15 steps one way) & had it not register any stairs, but then I’ve been down & up our deck stairs (4 steps) & had it register. Then there is the regular annoyance of BLASTING YOU WITH BRAINLESS ADS when you open the app to check steps. Being blasted with those ads is bad enough, but some make it extremely difficult to return to the steps app trying to FORCE YOU INTO “trying” their game/app. I’ve had some where I actually had to search for the “X” to close it out & when I did locate the “X” I had to tap on it 10+ times for it to close the game app. So, the Steps app may be free, but you PAY WITH YOUR SANITY by being inundated with the ANNOYING ADS.

Wow! Responsive developers!. I have been using this app for several years and always found it satisfactory to my basic need to make certain I move at least a certain amount daily. Nothing fancy needed for me. When I noticed a small technical glitch & used the feedback option to report it, I got back an answer the same day. Evidently others had noticed the glitch & it had already been fixed & an update was pushing out! (Notice to update had not yet shown up on my phone - but did appear as soon as I went to the app page.)

Steps to a healthy life. I love love love the Step app. I do a lot of running around all day and I could never calculate or figure out how many steps I took how many stairs I went up or if I was really doing anything that was beneficial for my health. Because of the stuff that I’m able to check how many steps I do during the course of a workday would I do at night when I’m home what I do on the weekends to keep up with the running around I do Monday to Friday. I get to challenge myself set goals. If you wanna start for a healthier lifestyle add the stepapp to your phone it’s as easy as that!
