DC UNIVERSE INFINITE Comments & Reviews 2026

5 Stars for the content. As a 48 year old, I’ve seen a lot of things change in my lifetime. Fortunately, comics have gotten better. How we read them is so different than when I was a kid. I used to stand in a bookstore for hours on a Saturday (or weekday in the summer) and read comics or flip through a cool book that was picture heavy. I remember buying the Death of Superman as it came out. I was there when Batman got his back broken by Bane. I fell in love with Todd McFarland when he put the “Torment” series together for Spider-Man. It was awesome. BUT, now I can sit on the couch with my son and look at these same comics through the app on an iPad. Amazing colors and definition, the selection is freaking fantastic, and the way you can discover material is presented very well. You can do storylines, characters, writers, periods, you name it. I’ve been a member since it came out.

Good selection, but really hard to read anything. I’ve only been using the comics part of this app, but it’s not that impressive. I like the selection (but I don’t have super obscure taste, so take that with a grain of salt) and there’s a Reading Lists feature that Marvel Unlimited seriously lacks, but I’ve had trouble actually accessing the comics. About once an issue, I’ll get a vague “something is wrong” error message. Sometimes reopening the comic or app works, but I’ve also had nothing work, and I have to just read the next issue and hope I can figure it out. It’s also very difficult to navigate: rather than allow you to go to the full series when you look at an issue, you have to search for it yourself, unless you access the issue in one specific location on the My DC page. I’ll keeps slogging through the terrible interface because I really want to read the comics, but it’s one of the worst ones I’ve seen (counting buggy illegal comic sites).

I used to really enjoy this subscription, but it was forcibly canceled due to poor design.. I have been a DC Universe Infinite member since it was also the streaming service that premiered season 3 of Young Justice back in 2019. Ever since then, I loved getting to read comics on this service. Then recently, they added the ultra plan and blocked a bunch of comics behind a higher paywall. This was upsetting, but I love these comics, and I planned to upgrade to the subscription when it got closer to my final exams for this semester as a treat to myself for the extra studying I would be doing. When I tried to upgrade my membership, it said membership successfull canceled, and now I can’t do anything to fix this and get my subscription back. I try to change or subscribe to it, and it just tells me that my subscription has been successfully canceled. I have been working with the support team to fix this for two days now, and it’s upsetting that there isn’t a phone line to call for faster support. All I wanted to do was pay this app more money than I already was, and now the app and website don’t even give me the option to pay them at all. It’s disappointing to me that there isn’t better customer support for such issues had by loyal fans of DC comics

Not ready for prime time. Make no mistake — so far, the major reason to purchase a subscription to DC Universe is the quirky live-action Doom Patrol TV series, which shows enormous promise. However, this app isn’t quite ready to support the rest of the content on the service, which mainly consists of a curated comics library. The reader app frequently has trouble loading pages, resulting in an annoying error page with Batman’s Butler Alfred showing up way too frequently. It also has a major error of being unable to load the next comic in a series without having to navigate back through the menu structure. My major gripe with this service, though, is that for $8 per month, I expect more content. The Titans series is subpar and not worth it. So that leaves the comics — and there appears to be far fewer comics available to read here than on ComiXology Unlimited or Marvel’s unlimited subscription service. If you’re looking for every title or every comic in the titles they have available, look elsewhere. So far I’m thinking this isn’t worth the subscription fee yet. I’m hoping they’ll step up their game.

Great content nightmare app. I love the comics and exclusive shows are amazing. Titans and young justice have made the subscription fee worth it. However 98% of the time this app doesn't work as intended. Every time i open this app i have to fight it to get to what i want. For example you hit a tab or menu option and the whole app crashes or it just stays on the screen your already on as if your not clicking anything. Tv shows and movies offer the option of screen casting then it doesn't work......ever. The news menu option rarely works and lastly its annoying to have to try and read all these amazing comics on a time crunch. You get to comic 10 of 12 then they remove that series and even ones already downloaded aren't available. So please improve the app functionality and allow us to keep the comics we have downloaded even if removed from the featured list. Only then would I recommend to others, only then will i view the 75$ annual fee as a great value and give 5 stars.

This Subscription Is Awesome. I Highly Recommend.. I want to start off by saying how happy I am that I got this subscription for me and my girlfriend to watch and get into the DC universe together . The shows they have on here , are absolutely top tier . I see that many of the reviews on here are talking about how the app crashes , but they were mostly a year ago I’m sure , correct me if I’m wrong . This app has no crashed on me once and it has been 3 months . Another thing that I see is being mentioned is inconsistent flow of new content , now I understand it can be annoying but I honestly think the amazing shows that are on here make up for it . Like I said I’ve only had it for 3 months but I’m 90 percent sure that all the bad reviews this app was given have been read by the devs and taken care of ! I actually just saw them put more content and animated movies last week ! What I’m trying to say is the flaws that were mentioned in previous reviews have been taken care of , which goes to show this team handling DC universe is amazing ! And to top of it all of this is only 8 dollars a month ! I highly recommend. It was the best subscription I had bought this year .

Such a huge disappointment. I have been waiting for this sort of an app from DC for more than 10 years. I grew up a DC loyalist but switched to Marvel because of the Marvel Unlimited app. It’s the biggest disappointment since Justice League, probably more so since I made the mistake of committing to a year of DC Universe service. The app is poorly designed, hard to navigate and unreliable, and there’s just so little content for the monthly fee. Titans is great and I’m sure young justice will be good too, but I had already watched all the other video content before the service launched and I wasn’t dying to rewatch Superman 4. What I’m most upset about is the comics. The selection is curated like the free sample bin after free comic book day crossed with someone’s old yard sale. The only comics from the last 5 years are a bunch of individual one offs and no recent full story lines. I spend about 8 hours a week on the Marvel app, I watch Titans on my Roku and almost never open the IOS app because it’s such a pain to navigate and it’s infuriating to see how little content is in there. Such a huge missed opportunity, do better at something DC!

Finally! This is the subscription I’ve wanted!!. This latest update adds their 20k comics into the app. This is what I’ve been waiting for! Selection is excellent. Still not 100%, and they’ve still got a few problems. Most notably Action Comics and Detective comics, with over 400+ issues to load each screen, it basically cant load it on my iPad, so I have to add them to a list on computer. Minor inconveniences aside, THIS ..... IS ..... WHAT ..... I ...... WANTED!!!! Don’t really care about their tv shows, it’s the comics and they finally delivered on that promise. I think their comic reader is quite good. Not completely comiXology level good, but better than everything else out there except comiXology. The scan level for graphics is excellent. The app itself is still rough in some places. Filter function needs work (like ability to search for other characters besides the 6 most popular ones), and everything is still a bit Batman heavy, unfortunately, but DC seems to be improving on all of it. My biggest fear after a year is I’d have paid a subscription fee for a token comic collection while they promote their tv shows, which I cared nothing for. I am happy to report I am completely wrong and their comic book fans are being well served by the subscription. A few more app refinements and this will be a 5 star app. They’re already going to get a renewal out of me with their new comic offerings.

So many bugs, where to start.. Different bugs depending on device. 1. Ipad, finish a comic books and it goes to an apparently random comic book next instead of the next one in the series. Tried on iPhone and it went to one in the series. 2. Ipad, Made a list for a series (trying to make own graphic novel which is another issue) and pics sometimes disappear when pressed, can’t download nor read from list. Have to go back to search. 3. Both, Reading and some pages vanish. Have to close book and reopen. 4. Ipad, reading book and can’t get the “Done” or any other button to escape the book. 5. Not impressed that limit TV and Movie list. Thought had access to ALL. 6. Many thumbnail pics are duplicates, so not representing true book or show. 7. Biggest issue, paid for subscription before app was even ready, and I mean to officially download. That was not in the signup page. Should get a few free months for that alone. 8. No Graphic Novels!!??!! 9. At least professionally curated list for multiple titles to tell the story, like 52. (<—Telling the age of my last venture into DC World) 10. I’m being generous with a 2 Star since I have been able to read some (annoying but readable). Like the latest movies (sans WW) disappointed. 11. And while I’m on the subject, relay this WB or whomever. JL: Batman doesn’t make jokes. Ben Affleck was a poor poor choice and Batman doesn’t make jokes.

Good package, but they expect you to pay more for things you’d expect to have. The app works pretty well, I’ve had it crash a couple times but not a huge deal. My problem is that there are shows here that don’t include the entire run time. For example, this app only has two seasons of the four Batman Animated series seasons. So, does that mean I’m expected to finish these two seasons here, and then go pay for the other seasons elsewhere? Sure, maybe you’ll make a couple more bucks that way, but you’ll lose my trust as a (for now) subscriber. No one wants to feel cheated. If you own the show, why wouldn’t you just put up the whole series so that people keep faith in your integrity? Or is that it, is there no integrity? What if the fifth season of Titans comes out, but then they suddenly decide not to put it on the app? Am I going to have to pay for the fifth season on Blu-Ray? I know this isn’t likely but my point is, if you have people paying for your service, you should give them 100% of the shows you have listed, especially if they’re twenty years old. Sure I’ll subscribe for now, but this poor business model will certainly have me cancel after some time. I wouldn’t mind the monthly charge if I felt like I was really being taken care of. I’m sure Disney+ wouldn’t do this, but hey I guess Warner Brothers will have to learn the hard way

Untitled. A few things I feel I should share. As I feel I’m the biggest fan of the DC creative world. I’ll get right to it. First of all, it’s pretty poor of this site to encourage people to subscribe when there isn't a constant flow of content being added. Specifically the Young Justice: Outsiders animated series. This series is a cartoon and I feel that it’s wrong to give us a measly 8 or so episodes and make us wait several months for the new season. It’s a cartoon. No one is going to care once those months are up and the new season is out. Secondly, comics are no longer downloadable for me and I know I still have data space to install on. I’m happy with the Titans TV series. It’s very realistic as it should be because DC is about what’s real, not the pretty and magical focus that Marvel has. Furthermore, I think in-addition to the Outsiders animated series you should add a Red Hood and the Outlaws animated series. Very explicit and mature rated for adults. Recently got into the comic and it’s very good. Just a few things I discovered that would help. Lastly, why is this app that I pay for not up to date with these Batman comics? I’m hearing about Three Jokers and from what I can see this app has even finished the City of Bane arc. That’s ridiculous. We should be receiving the content as it’s released. Because we subscribe. We shouldn’t be out of the loop like this. We’re fans.

Buggy Mess. The comics are awesome, but this app is TERRIBLE. I’ve been a subscriber for 3 years, and the new comics-only version of the app is an absolute mess. Sections will take forever to load (over a minute). You tap on button and nothing will happen. Or you tap and then wait as the item you selects eventually loads (even though there’s no indication anything is loading). In the comics themselves, you can’t keep swiping to move pages. You have to swipe and then wait (if the page is a fast read you’ll find yourself swiping and nothing happening). This is true even if you’ve downloaded the comic! And the downloading is an absolute nightmare. It’s great that you have unlimited downloads, but the bugs are so bad you’ll be waiting forever just for the option to download to pop up. And then once it begins downloading the whole app is frozen. I legitimately do other things while I wait for the comics to load. This app SHOULD be great. It has everything it already needs. It just runs like absolute garbage. I mean, it feels like something out of the early 2000s and you’re running it on dialup. I don’t know why, update after update, none of these glaring issues get fixed (for reference I’m running an up to date iPadOS with an up to date version of the app on an iPad Pro 2018). I hope they fix the many issues because this app would be AWESOME otherwise and a comic fans dream. Right now it’s just SO BAD.

Love this app, but…. There’s tons of room for improvement. Load times can be obnoxiously long. Not always, but often enough to be problematic. Sometimes consecutive pages can take near a minute to load. The browsing experience is good, but lags far behind the competing Marvel Unlimited app. Sorting by release date for the entire catalog would be great. It’s kind of there, but I find it’s often missing books I know are on the service. Sorting by a character and getting every book they’ve appeared in would be cool too. I know even Marvel doesn’t have this perfected on their app, and it’s a massive ask, but DCUI is even worse in this area. Also this may be a major or minor issue for you, but it doesn’t seem to have the support or care of it’s team like Marvel does. Just reading patch notes you can see how into the service (and the comics) the development team is. They call out and respond to issues the community brings up. This team just throws out that they “fixed bugs and stability issues,” yet rarely address the bigger issues the community has been asking about for years. Having said that this app is a must for comic book lovers, and perfect for those getting into comics. I’ve had the service since it launched and it’s the only subscription service I refuse to go without.

This company doesn’t care about their customers just money apparently. Edit #4. It has now been 8 days with no word back from customer support and no access so today I canceled my subscription and re did it to see if that helped and nope still nothing. This whole thing is a joke. It has now been 5 days since I purchased the Ultra and still no access to the ultra comics and no word back from customer support even after 3 emails. At this point I might cancel all together because why give a company money for nothing especially when the care so little for their customers!! I paid for Ultra 2 days ago and still cannot access any ultra comics and now the app takes 5 minutes to even load up the ones I can. I have logged out and In 3 times and deleted the app and put it back on still nothing! Cmon DC do better when u charge us even more for something. Edit I still haven’t heard one thing from the DC help center after 2 days. App still won’t load ultra comics and still takes forever to load the ones that aren’t ultra

Could be better. There’s a great collection of back issues here, absolutely worth the price for that alone. However, as a modern app it’s lacking a lot of QoL. There are no filters for things like release date, issue number, or story arc. Searching for a particular issue means scrolling through possibly hundreds of issues, each time. There is no way to sort a custom library beyond adding series to a list. The “Dive Back In” selection displays titles you’ve already finished, making it a headache to navigate. The reader is very lackluster. There is no functionality beyond simple zoom and poorly-cropped panel-by-panel viewing. There are so many bugs I can’t list them all here. Support has been great about fixing the ones I’ve come across, but expect to pay $12 a month and read comics for less than half that time. Worst of all, the Marvel app has zero of these issues. If you’re wanting to read back issues, it’s great. If you’re anyone else, just use Hoopla or read Marvel. ‘Nuff said.

Not Renewing. Love it, but their lack of platform support makes it worthless to me. It’s too bad but my guess in an attempt to subvert piracy they don’t allow their content to be streamed online and in a foolish move they’ve chosen to only make apps for phones, tablets and a few TVs but unless you have the top of the line tv you’re forced to watch on a phone or tablet. Now maybe it’s age but I don’t like watching on my on a smaller screen. Make an app for Mac or allow online viewing and I’ll happily pay for your service cause I love the content but without a way to watch where I can see what I’m paying for it feels like a waste of money. Sure some people pirate because they don’t want to pay and want everything for free but sometimes it’s done for reasons that could be avoided if companies could see beyond their own fear that their profit won’t be as big as they want it to be.

Pretty great!. This app is amazing! The content is great and there are so many clubs to join! First about the content, there are so many shows and comics to watch. It even has Batman: The Animated Series! The comics too, there are thousands of comics to choose from, originals, New 52, Rebirth, and so many more! Now the clubs, there’s a fan art, Batmobuddies, who celebrate the Batmobile, and so many more for everything. But I’ve run into trouble with one of the moderators. There was a “Ask Dr. Quinn” comment thread and I posted a question a week or two ago and the other day I posted a comment that said “Please remember to respond to me Dr. Quinn!” And a moderator took my comment, and question, down because I was “spamming” so the moderators on this app consider gentle reminders spamming now. I won’t say which moderator it was, but that brought my experience with this app down. I would’ve given this app 5 stars if it wasn’t for the experience with the moderator. Thank you!

Visual Issues. I love the app, do not misunderstand me, I think it does a pretty good job of providing people with comics. However, I have one particular grief with this app. For some reason, whenever I’ve past like the five minute mark(sometimes even less) of being on the app, my screen flickers to black and renders my phone useless. I have to tap the screen and my power button multiple times before it turns back on. But then it happens again a little later and the cycle repeats. How do I know this is not just my phone acting up? Because this only occurs when I’m actively on the DC Universe Infinite app, it has never happened on any other apps other than this one. There was a period of time where I uninstalled the app and none of this happened. Then I recently download it again and it happens once again. I don’t know how to fix this and I would appreciate some help. Thank you and good luck :D

Needs more content. It’s a great app and I’m glad i can watch the old teen titans on something without paying for each season but I would love to see more shows like Smallville as well as more comics and full storylines. I thought this was supposed to be the “Ultimate dc experience” but even with the monthly fee your treating it like a freebie with a bunch of sample comics. I hate to compare but this is definitely where marvel is better. It shouldn’t be just a select few comics it should be all the dc comics. On top of that you don’t even have the encyclopedia fully updated that only has a few people in it too i tried looking up “ice” and instead had to look her up online. It’s a beautiful concept and it would be even better than marvel unlimited but with so little content this half baked app isn’t worth it.

DC Universe. DC Universe is must have service for hard core fans of the DC Comics brand. The service caters to almost every corner of the classic comic’s label imprint whether it be the comics, films, tv shows, collectibles, or merchandise. The app can even be used by casual fans as just a way to keep up with what’s new in the comic book world with the news feed high displays feature articles and fan polls as well as the Encyclopedia Index to look up characters, locations, and more related subjects. The app is easy to navigate by way of the bottom tab which takes users from category section to category section. Those who are more interested in the exclusive content can try the service by way of a 7 day trial. DC Universe has won this battle with Marvel as the app stands out from Marvel Comics and Marvel Unlimited by way of access to classic and modern films and television shows.

Good but can be a lot better. Huge DC fan. Been a sub since this app came out. But I have written the devs numerous times the past year and half. Telling them how I need to restart the app a few times before it will actually let u use it..they always say they know of the issue and will have it fixed shortly and stuff like that. Yet been almost 2 years now and numerous contacts with devs. 5 times have written them or gave a written comment. Also really would love to have the devs put all their content they have on the app. Does drive me batty that so many movies, series and animated stuff aren’t on here, yet have been out for years. Instead they put out some stuff for few months, take it off and put a few different old stuff on. Heck put it all on all the time like your competitor Marvel does.. Am glad they have given us a better selection to comics and made a lot of more ease of use to the consumer on finding the comics you want and have all the others of the same title easy to find. Rem. When they would put out a lot of comics. But they Weren’t complete at all, for instance a older comic may have a series of 56 in the set yet they would have only 30 on the app. So extremely happy they have gotten a lot better with the comics but still room for improvement. Still missing some issues In a series. All and all love DC so will continue to pay my sub hoping that they will give us a lot more content to watch and read then they do know and just keep it on at all times.

Pretty good. I’ve enjoyed this app for the most part, but there are some things holding it back from a 5-star rating. I was really excited when I first downloaded it because the idea of unlimited movies, TV shows, and comic books sounds amazing to anyone. However, I soon found out that it doesn’t have every DC TV show or movie. I’d assume that they’re either trying to get the rights back or they’ll shuffle out with certain shows and movies. They also don’t have nearly as many comics as I’d like, but it’s understandable or else DC would lose lots of money. My other issue is with the downloads. Sometimes my downloads straight up stop and I can’t get them started again. This is a problem because I then have to cancel the download, but it still counts towards the limited number of downloads, which is my next complaint. You’re only allowed a certain number of downloads on an episode of a TV show or movie for the year, and when the downloads don’t always work, it still counts towards that. Everything else was great but hopefully DC fixes the above problems or changes certain rules like the download limit.

Sorting is a mess - Great once you actually find what to read. It functions and works fine when you are reading. In my past five years of on and off using this app, I’ve concluded that the sorting in this is terrible. The competition gets so much right, and this can’t even let me sort when I look at one of my favorites all the releases of an issue by newest to oldest. This means if you open up a title you need to scroll through like 100 issues before you can read the newest. Also sorting all comics by date ranges doesn’t include a release issue in that range, but if not if the series started at that date. This has to be some of the dumbest sorting logic ever, and while it is a value, to pay any money for such a terrible user experience never seemed worth it beyond a discount or trial to me. I really hope n the next 5 years they learn how to make getting to your comics easier. Just copy the competition. Take notes, please.

Almost perfect.. First let me say that this app is UNBELIEVABLE! I initially got it to rewatch the Justice League series but little did I know I’d be able to read comics too. The catalog is extensive and panel reading feature is amazing; I really can’t put my phone down. I rotate from landscape to portrait depending on the panel but that’s not too much work so it’s fine. My only issue is the video playback on mobile. While on desktop I have the ability to skip to the next episode once the end credits start, that feature is missing from mobile. If I try to fast forward to the end of the video, for some reason the next episode starts from the spot I fast forwarded to in the previous episode. Also, the comic reference to episodes in the desktop version is missing in mobile. Lastly, it’s be a great UX feature if we’d be able to “Star/favorite” the reference comics for later reading after an episode. All in all, app is dope as hell. So dope I wrote a review, I never do lol. Ps Waiting for the PS4 app!

Small complaints. Major compliments.. I love access to comic storylines that allow a silver age guy like myself to catch up on the storylines that have developed since I gave up comics 30 years ago. The new shows are great and it’s equally great to see the old shows out from obscurity. The comic reading app is just the best though I wish it were more reliable so I didn’t have to reset the app on Xbox every other comic. I hope you’re planning to put everything on this app, there’s a lot of golden and silver age stuff no one gets to see and while I’m sure it’s not all great it represents a portion of history that is fading further as time goes on. There’s a benefit to corporate in keeping the antique on display for youth, encouraging kind feelings toward the past and growing nostalgia into mature understanding builds tolerance for variety so maybe you don’t need universe ending crises every few years.

Good content, subpar interface. I’ll try and keep it brief...like others have said, the content in this app is great. I’ve long hoped DC would offer a digital comic service for a monthly subscription (like what Marvel has done with Unlimited)...you can imagine how excited I was to see the deep catalog of back issues available in DCU...but my disappointment with the UI sort of negates my excitement here. In terms of suggestions, I just have two words: Marvel Unlimited. I don’t care if you have to straight up rip off their user interface, at least theirs works and looks good. For example, MU shows me a list of the titles I’m currently reading, and when i finish an issue, the next issue of that series is the one displayed in my “currently reading” list; whereas in DCU, every issue you’ve read from that series just shows up in your “comics” tab. Feels cluttered. Streamline the UI a bit more, and you’re onto something here. There’s potential here, but I’m reluctant to pay for a subscription at this point.

Good but needs work. I’m only going to discuss the comics portion of this app as I have not had reason to use the video portion as of yet. Functionality: Love that the keep reading option allows you to download the next issue right away. Don’t like that I have to manually go back in to delete the previously downloaded issue. An option to auto delete should be made available. Please do something about how, after downloading like above, the comic opens to the last page. It should open at the cover, not the (possibly spoiler filled) end of the issue. Sometimes the issue will download but open to black. Restarting app, going to downloads section and opening from there (instead of the keep reading screen) is the only way to read it. Comic Content: Needs more issues available. I know the service is still young and more will be added with time, but having such a low count for events and such is poor planning. Want to read Final Crisis? Crisis on Infinite Earths? 52? Enjoy the, at most, four issues available. Most only have one issue available. A lot of Batman available though. That’s locked down. Also needs more current content. I love going back and reading classic runs, but even Marvel has current content from six months ago available in their Unlimited app. As stated, I’m sure comic content will find its way over time, but it seems small for a launch.

Download Videos but still Needs Service. So I just downloaded this app yesterday and I was so excited to see all the content that was available. So I downloaded a lot of episodes and movies. I went to work the next day, which Is a manufacturing company. So I have no service. But I didn’t think anything of it because I download everything. I went on my break, open the app and it doesn’t work because it needs cellular data. So what’s the point of downloading if I need cellular data to watch. The WHOLE point of downloading is so you can watch without using data. This is completely pointless and makes no sense. I have Netflix and I download movies and shows all the time. So when I watch it, it works great, because I downloaded it! I don’t understand why this app can’t do this especially when you pay for it. So eventually I turn my cellular data on and got a little service, but the playback was blurry. Even from the ones I downloaded under Wi-Fi. This is my first time using this app and I had such a bad experience. I was so excited to use it and all of his features but it’s sad that I can’t get the full experience because it requires data. I think this is a simple fix that should be addressed. I should be able to open my app and once it sees that I have no cellular data, then it should automatically go to my downloaded library. This is exactly what Netflix and other apps do and it’s very simple. Please fix this

Disappointed. I was excited to get this app on all my device but I’ve soon released there are a lot of glaring issues one there’s is a lot of buffing issues and streaming problems on the mobile app and the Xbox version . Two customer support non existent they say that’s it’s your Issue and your connection with the app even though their app is the only one having streaming issues . Three the UI is not good it feel like it’s all over the place there’s no way to back track or if want to restart an episode it won’t sty from the beginning it start from where it wants to start . Four you own The rights to DC movies and TV shows but all I see is the older movies and shows and some new shows there’s no list of the new movies or CW shows and it’s disappointing the other half is why would you release your shows like web episodes on a streaming service. No one and I mean no does that for a streaming service. Just finish the project and release all the episodes at once not this wait till Friday your not a cable Chanel when I pay for a streaming service I expect all the episodes or a full season to be there .

Great TV and Movie Selection, Comic Selection is Slowly Getting Better Too.. As an early adopter of the app, it’s nice to finally see that the comic book selection is starting to get good. Originally they only had half runs, or runs but nobody cared about. Recently they begin to add runs a comic book series that are much more popular, and add them in their entirety. It’s a long time fan and supporter it’s great to see that my number one complaint has been answered. Water features that I don’t typically use in the app, like watching their daily episodes of DC daily, but there’s also a ton of features that I use every single day anyway. Young justice season three is incredible Titans season one was pretty good too. Overall if you like dc this app is well worth it. As a DC can I look forward to seeing even more as the app grows.

What’s going on here?. It’s not strange to see in 2020 more streaming content, what is surprising is that someone found a way to do it so poorly. I don’t know where to start maybe with it’s not worth the money considering you can binge watch all the decent content in seven days. Let me be clear the content is decent at best. Only things worth while on here is Harley Quinn and Titans and evening that’s a stretch. It seems the WB has fingered out away to make not one but two more compelling shows with better acting. You might thinking I’m talking about the arrow and the flash but no I’m talking batgirl and that other stupid spin off of the two great DC shows. Don’t worry even though all that is DC content you won’t find it here. Long story short is I got 7days free and struggled to fill that time with interesting content. Not to mention there is no way of telling where in a series you were if you aren’t keeping track for yourself. Strange to see a service seem to get it ALL wrong and still ask for your money.

Great Content. Terrible App Mechanics. Terrible Customer Service.. So last month I wasn’t able to pay off my subscription until a week after the due date. Apple charged me, the money went out of my account right into DC Universe’s and I still can’t play my shows. Every time I try to play a show, it will give me the options for the subscriptions. Knowing that I had already paid I pressed skip these options until I realized that the subscription options won’t go away. To try to entertain what was happening in front of me, I tapped on the 7.99 subscription plan (which I already had) and after I did, it told me I already have the subscription! So what gives? Why can’t I watch the content that I paid for? Why isn’t there a call line that can help loyal paying customers figure out what’s going on more directly? For months since using the app for streaming it’s shows, it’s always been a choppy app. Always slow, glitching, or lagging behind. It’s becoming quite frustrating to keep up with. I just need help so I could watch Titans, but with a lack of a call line, I might not get. Be weary when getting this app. There are definitely positives content wise, but the mechanics of this app makes you wanna throw your phone across the room sometimes lol.

Great app, but I have a suggestion. This app is great for all DC fans alike with plenty of content for any DC fan. It has a great selection of movies and shows and great originals. Many of these shows blew me away as I did not have the highest expectations for them, but I ended up really enjoying most of them. I have found the website to not work very well (at least for me, this isn’t a problem as I just use the app, but this could be an issue for someone else.) A suggestion I would like to throw out there would be to pre-install or download episodes that have not come out yet so they can be downloaded when the episode releases. As in you download the episode early and then not be able to watch it until release. I think that would be a great addition to the app if there was a way to do that.

Please fix the movement of pages. I downloaded and subbed, and couldn't get into reading an issue enough. For the screen bouncing around so much in trying to pinch zoom in and out. It needs quality checks on this, bad. As trying to pinch zoom can cause the page to move instead of zooming in or out. Just ruining the immersion. This aspect of your service should be a high priority as without this users may feel perturbed to continue subscribing. Especially those that like to efficiently, power read until sated. Or when a story is engaging enough. This little quirk in design throws me off, from enjoying your content. There's also no quick way to progress to the next page, especially if zoomed in. As the user then needs to zoom completely out to be able to change the page. Which with the page moving around instead of zooming out it becomes too much a boorish chore. tyvm

Actually two subscriptions?. I originally subscribed for access to the television library, which has been moved to HBO Max. I enjoyed the app enough even without it to spend the subscription fee, but now it seems several of the titles I’ve been reading are moving to the new Ultra section and I would have to pay double to keep up with them. I would have contacted DC through the app, but as soon as I click on the “account” section the app freezes and crashes, always has since launch (at least for all my iPhones and iPads). I will likely unsubscribe, the app itself has been good, but with the new changes I personally don’t see enough value to justify spending closer to $20/month and now I don’t know that “new” content released will be worth the core subscription price either without access to the Ultra material. I’m sure for avid readers that price point to only be a month behind actual releases would be worth it, but to a more casual fan like myself I’m just not so sure.

Great service, underwhelming app.. Adding the comics to the subscription service was a fantastic idea, and the sheer amount of content makes it more than worth the price. The app, however, still has its bugs. The videos will often stutter. When you get to the end of an issue, it is very unreliable when it comes to the button that allows you to move on to the next, often just giving me a grey box where that feature usually is and I have to go back through the menu. Right now I am dealing with the app not even opening for me, just showing the loading screen for a second before kicking me out and closing. No amount of deleting and reuploading the app or turning my tablet on/off has helped. I’m on my free trial, and while the content is worth the price, I have a hard time investing money in a service that is so hard to use. I read comics on my iPad and switching to desktop would not be worth the price for me. I get that the service is still ironing out the kinks, and I respect that. But, at this point, I have a hard time spending my money.

Needs more live action classics, not user-friendly. I purchased an annual subscription, and while I’m not regretting the purchase, there’s a lot DC can do to improve this platform. For starters - DCU desperately needs more live action classics. The live action movies/ tv series are EXTREMELY LIMITED. I know the platform is new, but not a single live action Batman film is inexcusable. I don’t know if it’s an ownership/rights issue, but they are going to have a hard time gaining subscribers if they don’t drastically improve their selection. While I do like the fact that there are so many comics to read - it’s also worth mentioning that searching for SPECIFIC comics on the app is difficult. And generally speaking - the search function is very finicky. Even though I know the comic is on the app, I can search for a writer, and the issue won’t appear in the search results. It’s very annoying!! I hope they make the app more user friendly and also integrate their store into the actual app (as opposed to redirecting you to the website).

Love it, but.... I love this! My favorite things to watch is the new Harley Quinn (which I’m so excited for) and also Batman: the animated series! The only thing I’m confused about, is why they don’t include the live action movies (batman, Superman, etc...) after all, this is a DC Universe subscription, so it should have everything in the DC Universe right?!?! I don’t know, I just thought it doesn’t make sense to have a program of something but it’s missing everything that makes it popular. On the other hand, I’m so excited to have the animated series because I didn’t know where else I could watch it, and when I saw the trailer for Harley Quinn I was instantly super excited because I love comedy animation stuff (especially with Harley Quinn) and I always thought she was such a comedic super villain and she deserved a show like that.

Love the service but it needs some tuning. I wasn’t really a huge comic reader until this service came out. Ever since I’ve been going through storylines by the boatload. The plethora of movies and tv shows is a lot of fun as well. My biggest complaints are that crossover comics don’t streamlined at all. Issues will end with “story continued in (insert issue here)” but that issue isn’t linked or any where close to where you are reading the current issue. This brings me to my second issue: finding individual comic issues is insanely difficult. You can search for a storyline and get completely unrelated comics but not the ones you are looking for. For example: I searched for Robin #130 as it was listed at the end of a different issue I was reading. Rather than getting a selection of Robin comics sorted by those sharing the specifications I searched I get “Catwoman #3” or “Teen Titans Year One”. It seems like the search engine prioritizes individual parts of a search over the entire search itself. Also- the amount of movies that are missing is kinda ridiculous. No Batman vs. Robin, no Batman Bad blood despite them both being a part of the Animated Movie Universe is kinda crazy

Must-Have for DC Fans, But…. The app works well enough, and in my opinion has a better-looking interface than Marvel Unlimited. However, the app lacks a lot of the functionality that MU has. Being able to mark comics as “read” and have that blue checkmark pop display on MU makes it so much easier to keep track of where you are in a series, as well as helping you realize if you accidentally skipped an issue or two. The other big issue I have is that descriptions of reading lists only show the first two lines of a paragraph of text. There is no option to “show more” or expand this either, these descriptions are just unreadable aside from the first two lines. Having this many comics in the palm of your hand is awesome but there some real issues the app needs to fix.

A glimpse of great things to come!. Ok guys, that is still a work in progress, still with its current minor glitches, this service is 100% worth it and just heaven for DC fans. I very much would like to see more comics, specifically, complete graphic novels. I don’t expect DC to give away new content, but I don’t see the point of, for example, releasing only the first issue of older classics like Red Son. This is a bit frustrating, especially since I own it, and it would be so more convenient than digging my sealed old issues. The streaming is near perfect, the Daily DC show is great, the animation selection is great and so are the DC catalog releases through the Nolan Trilogy. I’d love to see the Zack Snyder movies, uncut, and if they wanted to blow the subscriptions out of the water #releasethegoddamSnyderCut (tip of the hat to Frank Miller). As is, this is a great service out of the box, and don’t tell DC, but I’d pay twice the price for this geek’s DC love fest. Yes, I love the DC Universe Streaming Service. Can’t wait for the original content, especially Doom Patrol. If you love DC, don’t miss this great service.

Great idea, wonky app. I purchased a year as a pre-order before service started and it took me a while, but I’m loving it. The rotating comics we’re driving me nuts at first. I’m glad I have access to some of my favorite storylines on a more perma-basis. I hope they are working on the bugs in the app. Episodes I download, if I can get them to download, often error when I try deleting them, it’s not clear how much you can download at any one time and episodes/movies I watch often don’t appear as “watched” if I go back and forth between the mobile app and the Apple TV app. I also have problems scrolling through long lists of episodes on the mobile app. It gets to a certain point on the list and then won’t go down any farther or the entire screen appears to shift around. In addition to scrolling issues, I can’t always get the My DC section to open on the iPad app. Overall, I’m hanging in through the bugs because I’m a life-long die-hard fan of DC. Idea: 11/5 ⭐️ Mobile App: 2/5 ⭐️

Love the content! But the UI is frustrating.. TL;DR the filter function needs to be overhauled, a favorites section needs to be added, the recently read section needs to be more robust and include storylines, and there needs to be more thoughtfulness behind how many hoops the user has to jump through to interact with the content I love everything about the quality of the content within the app, but I think there are some interface issues that are not given enough care or attention. The filter in the comics section, how it is interacted with, and the how we open comics in general is just flat out atrocious. I literally groan when it comes to searching for specific content in storylines or by eras because the filter options seem to reset every time I so much as look at anything else. No option exist for jumping back into specific storylines, so if I want to go back to reading a main series and all the tie-ins, not only can I not do that from the recently read section, but I have to go back and use the (again, atrocious) comic filter to jump back into what I was reading. An option should exist to favorite specific eras, storylines, heroes, etc. to allow readers to jump back into content.

Tons of content, buggy barebones app. Lots of comics and videos to consume, but the one size fits all app design isn’t great. On Apple TV the app updates slowly, hides new content, and persists in showing comics... I don’t want to read comics on the tv lol. On iPad Pro the app runs ok to poorly. Recently trying to delete downloads locks up the app, trying to access “My DC” locks up the app... so I can’t access the comics I’ve added to my favorites lists. Deleting the app and reinstalling is the only way to fix this issue. Searching through the massive library isn’t a great experience - no shortcuts by first letter/index, and when selecting a title then immediately going back to the library it returns to “A” even if I was in the “Z”s. I understood the bugginess and barebones app when this first launched, but at this point the bugs and the design issues are trying my patience. This app is very poorly optimized for iOS/iPad OS. Be sure to go to settings in the app and check “do not sell my data” since that’s not checked by default...

Worth it but.... This app is off to an amazing start. This is the first streaming service I paid with my own money( That means a lot). They have all the old animated DC shows like Batman Beyond, static, etc. It’s gonna take a while to finish because they just keep add more. The live actions are amazing too(Bravo!)! They just need to add small stuff with the streaming. Like Video casting maybe, I just wanna switch between phone and tv easier. Switching between episodes is a hassle. How am I supposed to binge, I need that next Episode button. I’m not saying copy other apps like Netflix but make it easy. I love this app very much though. And please try to get The CW Arrowverse shows on here and live action movies like Suicide squad and all that good stuff. I use this more than any app on my phone. Keep up the good work can’t wait to see what u guys do. And buffering Symbol glitches sometimes.

Fine, if you know what to look for. Also, tablet navigation. First off, taking away landscape navigation is almost certainly to simplify development and save time on layouts, which would be fine if not for the fact that 1) tablets are the definitive way to read ebooks so why would you not develop for them, and 2) you’re charging more now for less functions. The reading experience is great, and the catalog is deep, but they really hate organization here. It’s way too hard to get an idea what storylines go into what, what events tie into what, and there’s absolutely zero methods of organizing things chronologically. You can’t even sort by release date. There’s very little in the way of helpful layouts or reading guides. There’s collections but they’re generic and broad. Do you want to read what’s been going on lately across many books? You’re out of luck. There needs to be a timeline or things need to be grouped by year or something. It’s especially bad when there’s a long running series that hasn’t been broken into volumes and you have the scroll through the whole run to find the point in the run you’re looking for.

No landscape mode for navigation = not an iPad app. For an app that is designed to be used on an iPad, I have one criteria that you have to meet before I can give you more than 2 stars, and that is that your app has to work in landscape mode. Those of us who use our iPad with a Magic Keyboard keep the iPad in landscape mode 99% of the time. If your app doesn’t support it, then you don’t support iPad, full stop. So this app does let you read comics in landscape mode, which is great. But navigating the app only works in portrait mode. So we’re limited to 2 stars here. I get it when games don’t support landscape (that still limits them to 2 stars, but I at least understand that it’s extra work). But when it comes to basic navigation within an app like this one, there’s simply no excuse to not support it in 2023. If you’re using programming best practices, you should be programming in a way such that the app is adapting to the screen size and orientation dynamically. That also future proofs the app. Frankly, it’s lazy programming, and lazy programming that negatively affects the user experience. What do you expect me to do, take my iPad off the Magic Keyboard every time I go into the app? I’d rather just not use it. And for what it’s worth, the app’s biggest competitor, Marvel Unlimited, has its own serious problems, but it handles this *easily.*

Horrible customer service and errors all day!!. I’ve had this app for a while and just recently the app crashed on me and gave me an error message about my subscription. I reached out to customer service with my concerns however there was no response. I ended my subscription and started a new account because I thought I might have gotten hacked. Meanwhile customer service hasn’t responded to me at all. I have a new account and now all I get is an error that the comic pages won’t load. Mind you I sent another email to customer service about that and it’s about to be a week with no answer! How is that acceptable? How is it that a corporation can ignore their clientele’s concerns yet still charge them money? I’m an advent reader and have gotten deep into some of the finest reads in DC now idk if I even want to continue. I don’t even write reviews for apps but I wanted to let anyone new know to walk out the door because they don’t care they just want your money. No one responds to your request. I’ll check back in at the end of the month with an update…it’ll probably be that nothing has changed and they got their money….again. Smh

Love the access to DC Comics but…. Have spent a whole lot of time using the Marvel Unlimited app and one of my biggest complaints for that is their reading guides are pretty minimal and can be hard to maneuver. I love that the reading guides on this app are fully complete with either the core story or including all of the tie ins. But my biggest complaint is the overall maneuverability of this app; when having the device landscape the app when outside of the comic doesn’t change which is just inconvenient and a hassle, when reading a major crossover event it doesn’t give you the suggestion for the next issue in the reading guide, it just offers the next one in the series, and when reading an issue with smart panel it can take multiple attempts to go to the next panel and I’ve had sometimes where it just skips a panel or two. Overall I do really like the app it just could really use some quality of life updates that would make the experience a lot more pleasurable.

Overwhelmed. When I first heard about the service I was wary to pay for a whole year in case I didn’t want the service after a month or so… After two weeks I have to say I am completely satisfied. Not only is there an abundance of material to look into there’s a whole community of people that just want to chat about things that you want to chat about. To me that’s the best part. If you’re going in looking to get all the latest blockbuster movies and all the latest blockbuster comics then you’ll be upset. If you’ve already started collecting all the rebirth comics and own all the DCEU movies then this is the next step! There full strings of comics I never would’ve paid for but have always wanted to read. As a 22 year old I missed out on everything before 2000.... so I just used wiki. This has been so nice to read old comics and watch old shows. Plus the new animated movies are fiiire. I just can’t even believe it hasn’t been two weeks and it can only get better. Any complaints you have you can post and a rep replies to you. 5 stars bruh

Software Bug June 2024. On an 11” iPad Pro (MTXT2X/A) on Infinite Ultra viewed in portrait, the app began rendering some pages at a large iPhone size and resolution. Flipping pages back and forth could force it back to full screen again BUT at the lesser resolution of the smaller screen size. Fiddling with it could usually get it back for awhile (try opening and closing the comic information screen) but I don’t want to fiddle……. I want to just chill and read. Please fix (if you care at all about your subscribers….. no other way to report a bad user experience than reviews is just bad mmmmkay?)

Work in Progress. The content is gold, but there needs a lot of work put into it. I signed up for the year and I don’t regret it, but even on a brand new iPad Pro and using 5G it takes too long to load. I go to change pages and there is a loading lag of up to ten seconds, where as the predecessor app had it loaded instantly. I do feel there is a lot more work needed on the content side of things, but not so much more books added (that’s obvious), but I personally would like to read every title from a certain timepoint onwards. I would love to see like a playlist of years.. months… I’d like to be about to go to March 1987 and read every DC title from that month, and then do April 1987 after that and so on and so on and that way I can get the full story told. That would be my dream feature on the app, but until then, I just need it to run smoother.

Some help. If it’s not letting you sign up you need to make sure your password fits the requirements, I had to add some punctuation to mine for it to work. They should really tell you what you need to change.

It’s good, but it could be better ;). Content packed app that makes reading dc comics new and old digitally very easy and simply a few clicks away. Great collection of comics and easy to navigate reading window make flying through new issues seamless and fun. It isn’t without flaw however, with issues in the app sometimes closing unexpectedly or randomly buffering when trying to load the next page. As past reviews have stated there were more issues but from my experience they aren’t as bad as they used to be , but aren’t altogether vanquished. Navigating the search function can b a bit finicky in the sense that it can take a hike to figure it out and what keywords to use so maybe it could be more clear but once I got the hang of it it was good. Overall I think the app is great and definitely the best place to read and support all your fav dc comics, but like everything it could always be better and hopefully the team keeps updating the app in the future with improvements :)

Weird app. Cannot login on wifi, has to be on mobile data to do so. This means i cannot read on my ipad since it is on wifi. This is not good.

cant sign up. It doesn’t even let me sign up. I enter my details, press sign up, then it says “An error occurred trying to register your account,” I’ve tried different emails, I’ve tried on my iPad, it all says the same thing.

Great content, application itself needs work. I love DC Comics and their Ultra tier has been a godsend in terms of large amounts of high quality content for a relatively affordable price, but the app really needs work. For starters, I'd love to have the ability to manually sort my lists, since I like building up my own reading orders for things. I'd also love it if there was a "Mark as read" button, or the ability to add to a list after finishing a comic. Quality of life in the app is not where it could be and it's a shame since the content is so great.

Not working -BEWARE. I have taken an annual subscription on this app and when it updated I couldn’t re-enter it. My username and password weren’t accepted and it kept pushing me to sign up under a new account and take out an additional subscription. This is a consumer issue but the app does not allow you to report anything

Can’t even make an account to read the comics. I’ve tried and tried and tired again with multiple different emails to make an account but every time I’m met with a error screen I’ve even tried using my wife’s email and still nothing probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had with an app

My favourite comics app. It’s great being able to find great content from DC I may have missed in the past

No Buffy comics. Nothing I want to read. No Joss Whedon.

Who know?. I have no ideas if the app works well but, god damn, it took a long time to get to Australia

Would be good. The saddest thing is that this would be great, but there’s no point in paying for a subscription you can’t use because the app is too buggy. Shame I’ll have to cancel 😩

App is garbage, content is gold. Rating - one star out of five for the app, five stars for the content. The app is absolute garbage, a buggy mess with a horrible UI, unresponsive and prone to crashing or glitching out so it needs restarting. I wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole, except.. the comics library is superlative. Having access to this any DC comics for a very reasonable subscription price is an offer too good to pass up. Please, DC, fire your developers and hire some new ones to rebuild the app, though.

sign up. it wont even let me sign up this would be a great app if it would work

App bad, comics good. My DC tab freezes the app. The only work around is to delete the app, thereby clearing your reading history, and reinstalling. Fix app, 5 stars. Fix DC cinematic universe, 10 stars.

An app worth the money!!. THANK YOU FOR FIXING THE BUGS! This is the best comic app to ever come to my country and I’m so pleased you took the time to fix the bugs that it had.

Great until you get shafted by the paywall. So this app was great. Was loving it until I wanted to read The Killing Joke. As I tapped on the comic it told me I needed the Ultra Subscription which is roughly $170AUD a year (whereas I was on the monthly subscription). I found this quite annoying especially after using Marvel Unlimited. Marvel has two pricing packages, the monthly and the yearly and there are very little difference between the two. Whereas with DC, the more you pay the more benefits you get/more comics you get to read. Overall, I’d like to continue using the app, it’s super convenient. The paywall however, that’s something that’s going to keep me away.

Shady Ultra Paywall. Was using this app for a while, and has many issues. Cannot seem to remember where I was up to and app constantly refreshes comic back a few pages/sometimes a whole issue I have already read. Also was using before the “Ultra” greedy paywall was introduced, and lost access to stuff I was reading now showing content as locked. Just keep it simple, the ultra garbage should go. May go over to Marvel unlimited as apparently they have only one tier. Do better DC

Love the comics, hate the app and service. The app is buggy as heck - updates don’t seem to fix anything - but I put up with it to read the comics. What really gets my goat is the new subscription tier they’ve launched that costs TWICE as much and they locked thousands of comics behind it so you can’t get full storylines with a basic subscription. It’s like paying for a buffet except they tell you you need to pay extra for dessert and so while you can get full, you’re left feeling ripped off and unsatisfied.

Cache! Cache! Cache!. Why doesn’t an issue download in the background as I’m reading it rather than wait for me to go to the next pages? This app is sluggish. It’s almost like it’s a ploy to ensure people buy real comics as the digital experience is so awful! Great content though.

Love the content but the app isn’t great. I’m a DC fanboy through and through but the app is not the greatest user experience. Every week I have to delete the app and download it again just so I can get any new comics for the week. This means my iPad also deletes any comics that I had downloaded inside the app. *groan* Being non-US seems to also mean I can’t access the community or shop. It’d also be great if there was improved searching and filtering for date of release so that you’re not endlessly scrolling through issues if a series was released awhile ago - e.g. if latest issue is 150, why do I have to scroll from 1 onwards to get to it?

Awesome! But…... This app just released in Australia and it is amazing! It’s so great to have something celebrating all things DC comics…..mostly. The issue is that a lot comics (especially older ones) I feel are especially important to have up to read are not there. Like Batman (older series) #242 or the flash tie-ins to green lantern/green arrow. Even Hunger Dogs isn’t on for crying out loud. Unfortunately this is a big enough issue in my eyes to take one star off my review. Hopefully it will get updated as we go along. Other than that I highly recommend this subscription service.

Almost there!. Great content but still so many problems! I have close and reopen the app 3 times each day because it freezes or fails to load. I also hate that there isn’t more organisation in the favourites section once they have been added, like put them into sub lists for each series once you have favourited the issue. Marvels app is 10X better.

I’d say they care about minority showcasing but…. Recently, none of the comics are loading. While this is already disappointing, it’s made worse by the fact that it’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month and the AAPI comics they’re ‘showcasing’ can’t actually be read at all. So much for visibility. These titles are only promoted on the home page for one month and they can’t be bothered to make sure people can read them? Do better DC. Usually, without this mess, I’d happily give this app a 4 or 5 star review. But as I said, DC needs to do better when it comes to proving that they aren’t just pandering to look better and that they actually mean to give our AAPI creators the spotlight that they deserve.

Great content, app itself needs some work. Had the app for a couple months now since it hit Australia, loving it over all as there is so much content and back issues to get through (especially massive events). The app itself is clunky as all hell, seems like an app from 8 years ago that’s never been updated. In comparison to Marvel Unlimited and suffers quite a lot. The app freezes every time I click the ‘my dc’ section to access the comics I’ve favourited for reading later. I have to close the app and go into it again for it to work. Page loading time, even if you’ve offline download a comic is still slow, and sometimes you gotta shuffle it around just for it to load. Overall I love the content, app needs a lot of work.

I can’t even buy the damn thing.. Literally won’t let me make an account, how the hell will I read comics? Marvel Unlimited is way better.

Would be great if….. I love this app… but it gets really glitchy when I try to download comics on to my phone.

Crashing and disorganized. I was in the middle of reading a comic when it kicked me out and demanded I update the app immediately. Really? What a terrible design idea. Do better.

What is the point of adding another paywall?. Most of the promo codes and sales seem to be US only, and now you lock part of the content behind a more expensive service tier. Might as well just borrow the trades from the public library.

Better than expected. I have only been using the app for about 15 days now. Before I purchased it I have to admit I was a bit worried about the reviews regarding Alfred showing up a bunch. He must be cleaning the bat cave cause so far he did not visit me. This app made me fall in love with comics again as you can follow up on multiple series so quickly,it also shows you in what order to read them for miniseries in case some others with different titles but related to the main one you are reading came out in between. So far 10/10

Call an exterminator. The app succeeds in displaying comics, though bugs prevent it from remembering my place in a series and continuing to the next issue. The panel view also sometimes fails to load specific panels. The app crashes after trying to continue from the last page of a comic, and the cache fails to empty when pressing the clear cache button.

Ten Nights of the Beast animated film. I think a Ten Nights of the Beast film would be fantastic, seeing Batman face an almost force of nature like assassin in KGBeast who tests him in both mind and body. I can easily see it being one of the best animated DC films ever if given the chance.

Not downloading so can’t evaluate for real. Can’t seem to be able to download it. Loading starts and then stagnate at like 10% and nothing can be done, help ?

Great. Needs rating system for comics and ways to like comics

Good but crashes all the time. I like it but it’s annoying because I sometimes have to delete and redownload for it to stop crashing

Was good but not anymore. Please fix the landscape. Impossible to read now on iPhone and it’s not on desktop. Definitely not worth the membership if it isn’t fixed.

Only one issue but an annoying one…. This app is almost perfect and I’ve been waiting for it to come for quite some time. Thanks! However: on an iPhone 7 when in portrait mode we loose part of the picture because of the front facing camera that takes part of the screen. But when we turn to landscape and back to portrait again, the image size is adjusted to start just below the camera That is good, but when we continue reading the same problem comes again: the image size goes back to full screen and part of it is hidden by the camera, so we need to reduce the size of the image by pinching with our two fingers or by flipping to landscape and back to portrait. This is especially annoying when panels have text on top of them! If you can address this Warner the app will be 5-star perfect!!!

Do not subscribe through Apple. I subscribed for one year Ultra package. It worked for three months and suddenly it does not work anymore. I no longer have access. DC will not help cause they say it s apples problem. Apple support says it s up to DC to fix my problem. I asked for my money back and Apple support said no. Basically I have a one year subscription with no service. Do not use apple to subscribe to anything. Beware they just want your money and leave you out to dry.

Solid reader but no saved state. Search, discovery, and reading are well implemented but unfortunately the app doesn’t indicate what’s read/unread inside your library. It has commands to mark issues as read but that doesn’t appear to do anything useful. Would be a 4-star app if it displayed read vs unread state on the issue covers (see Marvel Unlimited for an example). As it stands, you have to track your reading outside the app.

Yes! But important issues to resolve. At last available in Canada! The content is great and most of the app works fine. My DC tab is a nice feature. Important problems remain, including: - blank home screen - no way to see new comics additions - sorting of comics is very bad!

Can’t read or download comics. It doesn’t work period. I can load the app and browse comics but the moment I want to read one it just spins and never loads and when I try to download it fails and therefore I can’t read that way either. It is not an internet issue as everything else works without issue and this problem happens on both my iPad and iPhone. And yea I have deleted and redownloaded the app and power cycled to try and fix it. I opened a case with DC support directly and they just said that things would get better and never acknowledged the problem. It has been months since that was submitted and multiple updates haven’t fixed the issue. Can’t recommend and won’t resubscribe as I can’t actually read anything.

I’m trying to give you money!!!. It won’t let me make an account it keeps giving me an error message. How hard is it to make a service that works

Will, They Made My Decision For Me. I had not used the app in a couple months and had considered unsubscribing. I went in to check some comics and it would not take my password. I knew it was correct since I had written it down. When I tried to change it the app wouldn’t even let me type in my email either. I guess with a month on my subscription I will just let it expire. I don’t recommend this to anyone. Since it’s about 15$ a month you are probably better off to budget yourself and buy 2 or 3 comics from ibooks or Kindle.

This has one job and fails to do it. Intermittently fails to load pages, requiring hoops to reload and restart the viewing process.

Disappointing Updates.. There’s some good stuff here, but it seems largely focused on archiving recently released material. There’s big gaps of missing issues in major series like Adventures of Superman, World’s Finest and Showcase. For several months they’ve only been adding books that were released within the last year. If you want to read whatever DC published a few months ago, then this is the app for you. If your interested in reading anything older than that, prepare to be frustrated.

Love the service but having annoying issues. The app was running fine and I was enjoying the comics. All of a sudden this morning, I can’t click on any of the comics to read in the home page “dive back in” I have to manually go to the comic and click read issue. Even then when I double click on the comic to get a panel by panel view, it doesn’t rotate to landscape anymore so some parts where it should be viewed in landscape is stuck in portrait with tiny wordings! I’m so annoyed right now. It was running so well… who woke up and decided to ruin it.

A lot of loading page problem.. I am a ultra member and this app is a big letdown. The reason is simple, about 20% of the pages dont load correctly. So its almost impossible to read a comic without seeing the Alfred page (error page). This is so annoying that even if im a huge dc fan, im seriously thinking of not renewing my ultra membership next year!

App is broken. Can’t sign up for a trial, can’t create an account, error messages everywhere. This is a terrible app

Thank you for finally coming to Canada 🇨🇦. I remember being really being disappointed when DC Infinite was announced but it wasn’t available in Canada.

Does not work in Landscape. For over a year now this app has has a bug where the library interface just wont work in landscape…and despite NUMEROUS attempts to contact them to fix it the bug remains…its and absolutely absurd bug to have remain for this long and I cannot recommend an app that does not care about its self this much…id give it 0 stars if I could

New Update killed my app. The newest update has broken my DCU app. It won’t even open now. Please fix it soon, not happy that I paid for a yearly subscription but can’t even use it now.

I’m just glad it’s in Canada. Been waiting for this!

Won’t let me log in. Can log in fine on web - but get an error in the app

Can’t sign up for the service. Tried everything. After trying 3 different devices, finally got to a screen with Canadian pricing on it — except clicking on it doesn’t do anything. Why make the app available in Canada if you can’t actually sign up for the service?

Cannot make an account. Can’t make an account so it sucks.

Good but not great. Marvel’s still better.. When this app works, it works well. There’s a great collection of new(er) and classic DC titles here, with useful reading lists and a good interface. However, the app does have a tendency to freeze on the “My DC” page, requiring an uninstall and reinstall to fix. Also, I’m not at all impressed with the new “Ultra” tier. While it does drop the embargo window for new titles from six months to only one month, it also costs almost twice the introductory price I paid! Also, prompts for these new titles are now scattered throughout the app, making you feel like you’re missing out if you don’t sign up. Marvel Unlimited is still the better over-the-top comics service, offering a shorter embargo window of only three months at the base price, along with exclusive content developed just for the app. Fifty years later and they’re still beating DC!

Great app but…. It’s a great app! Only thing that is missing is a rating system, would love to have a friends list to share what each other has read, rated, reviewed ect…

Subscription problems. STILL!. Still waiting for you to fix the problem when a person upgrades to Ultra from the previous tier. Doesn’t allow me to read the books I’ve paid for. This has being going on for months. Will not renew or EVER subscribe again if this isn’t fixed soon.

I wish I could use it…. I’ve spent about 80% of the time on this app fighting to get logged in. I have the ultra tier but every time I try to read anything I’m changing my password only to get error recheck my credentials and then having to pirate the comics I came here to read.

UI Needs Work. The app overall is nice, I’ve been waiting for the service to come to Canada. I find the “My Comics” part of the app to be laid out poorly when compared to Marvel. There is also no indicator without clicking on the actual comic to remember if you’ve already read it or not. This would be a welcomed fix if they could manage it.

Pages Don’t All Load. Cancelled before the free trial expired, tried reading a few graphic novels and some of the pages just would NOT load, no matter how long I waited. Nice idea, poor development.

Great service and selection for new readers. Canadian user who got an annual subscription on sale Perfect on an iPad and very readable on iPhone thanks to the panel by panel feature. Great quality and organization of books.

The layout. The layout can get very confusing and it’s always crashing and has so many bugs. Better stick to marvel unlimited because it’s a lot better but hopefully the app can fix it

Finally in Canada. So happy this service is finally available in Canada! Only gripe so far is that the home page is just blank, unsure why that is, but excited to read more!

Not worth the money. I find it stupid that the physical copies of the comic’s that I have purchased are not available to read on this app even if I was to subscribe to the ultra. I have to go to pirated web sites to be able to read the comic’s I own or open up the physical copies that I have. Its pretty sad that other pirated websites are better. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS APP ITS NOT WORTH IT

Haven’t subbed yet but finally!. Thanks for finally bringing the service to Canada! I will forever be a Marvel fan but I totally want to get into DC stuff and this is the best way to do so, I’m definitely gonna take a yearly sub! Just wanna point out a couple of bugs though, the first being that the Home tab shows nothing, second is that the community tab just opens safari, then pops right back into the app.

Buggy app ruins comic reading. Be prepared to see Alfred a lot. In this app Alfred is the DC version of that 404 page not found of the web. Let me paint you a picture, you find a nice book to read 5 pages in for some reason the app can’t find the next page and you get Alfred popping up. Fine you decide to close the app and try again and guess what you’ve got a 50/50 chance of it working. So you decide to download the entire book before reading, great issue solved except the app saying download to library but where is the library in your My DC section…nope not anymore.

Used to be a great app. What happened? When Dc Infinite first came to Canada I was so excited. Finally, I can read DC comics without buying trades like with Marvel Unlimited… until all of a sudden the app just doesn’t work. Horrendous bugs, features not working, the list goes on. This used to be my preferred app for reading comics, now it feels like a waste of money. Marvel fixed their problems with Unlimited, so why can’t the “Distinguished Competition”? It’s just sad, oh and don’t even bother contacting customer support, what a joke they are. You ask them for help for specific issues and their go-to lines are “Is your device up to date?” or “have you tried deleting the app and redownloading it?” Yes I’ve tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. What a joke. Don’t waste your money on this. But hey, if you do good luck trying to read something like “KnightFall” when you have to read every single issue individually by series instead of the feature they USED to have that let you flow into each issue as needed. Really sad.

Good content. Over all, this is a cool app with nice content and a lot going for it. Or at least it HAD a lot going for it. Let me just start by saying that I think this only needs a few touch ups to be better. I will probably sound nit picky in the review but these are all small things that make the product better for the user. I think it’s really great to have “Batman the animated series” and “kingdom come” all in one place but This app has a horrible interface. It’s really hard to find something when you don’t know what you want. If I wanted to read crisis on infinite earths I could search it, but if I wanted to read something new, I would just be cycling through the same list of shows/comics over and over. Next, if I finish an episode of something, I can’t quickly open the app the next day and watch the next episode. Instead, I have to go and find the show and the episode I’m on. There shouldn’t just be a “ dive back in” section but also a “next up” section. This really is such a simple fix which would make it so much easier to enjoy the app. Last, (this one I don’t know who to ask) certain comics and TV shows simply won’t load. Almost EVERY SINGLE comic I’ve come across I can’t read. There’s a reason I bought this subscription, and it’s not “the adventures of superboy”. All I can do on this app is try and find certain shows which I can actually watch. While I’m sure many other people love this app, I can’t find any reason why I should recommend it to anyone. The whole thing is disfunctional and completely un-schway. I really wish I could enjoy this but I can’t. If the downloads worked, the interface was better, the content worked, and it had a recommended section, then yea I would like it. But unfortunately that’s apparently unrealistic. So

Has the potential to dethrone Marvel Unlimited. I’m very happy with this service; reading comics has never been easier! Not to mention, all of the film and TV content, including original content like Doom Patrol (which is my current obsession). There’s a few technical and stability issues, but the devs seem very responsive when it comes to bug fixes (I’ve noticed that accidental page turning is less of an issue with the latest update). My only major problem is that there isn’t a PS4 version, so I have to watch shows either on my tiny iPhone screen, or upstairs on my family’s Roku TV. Once that’s fixed, this will be the perfect comics app; far more impressive than even Marvel Unlimited.

Glitch filled app. Love being able to keep up with the comics on my phone but the app needs a lot of work. Especially with searching. No matter how many times I try the search bar brings up nothing. On the rare times that it does it is hard to find what you’re actually looking for. On newer iPhones the top of the text on some gets cut by the black bar on the phone. Edit: the black bar cutting off the comic is still a problem and now I can’t read comics because when I click on them it says to change my settings to be able to read them off WiFi which I already do. On top of that I bookmarked the brightest day event to read all the comics in the series. It used to show me all of them. Now it cuts off like 12 issues in and I can’t see any of the rest of comics! It’s been like this for several days. I’ve deleted the app, I’ve restarted my phone and nothing changes!

Good content, implementation needs work. First off, the good: I absolutely loved Titans, and am thoroughly enjoying Doom Patrol. I also enjoy the movies and TV series they have archived here, as well as the VAST collection of digitized DC comic books! Unfortunately, the app itself has several issues (some of which also apply to the website for PC users). First off, the app on my iPad and iPhone seems to crash a LOT, particularly while loading the home screen, and when browsing large comic book series (such as Detective Comics). Second, the home page keeps listing episodes, movies, and comic issues I’ve finished on the “jump right back in” section, instead of listing the NEXT episode or issue. Finally, if for whatever reason you need to change your payment method, the only option is to cancel your subscription, and re-subscribe with the new payment method.

Great content behind horrible app. The content on here is great, and that’s where the praise ends. This app is horrible, and it’s not just the iPhone app, it’s all their apps. The web app makes it nearly impossible to watch anything unless you want to watch full screen. The IOS apps have no idea when the shows end. Every show I’ve watched still shows up under the “continue watching” section. I even let them run all the way through the credits, and they still show up under “continue watching”. They show up there in the web site and in the apps. I don’t know who approved the release of your apps, but I question their ability to do even the most basic user tests. I will not be renewing my membership until they figure out how to make a decent app. In 2019 it is not hard to make a decent video viewing application. If you are just that incapable of it, then partner with Plex, then have the whole video viewing application down.

Not quite there yet. It’s another example of DC/Warner following Marvel’s footsteps and not quite hitting the mark. It’s understandable that there would be more content added after lunch, but why just give us a few issues of comics and not entire runs? I know that you’re using this as a platform for cross-promotion (providing us with “suggestions” for comics to read based on whatever movie/tv show is being released) but many of us just want to read your comics on a digital platform and not have it be used as a method to advertise. I really enjoyed Titans despite initial misgivings, and am hopeful about Young Justice, but really would like to be able to watch current CW shows and really really suggest you add the app to PS4, as it’s how I, and I presume the other 70 million people who own them, watch television, which ultimately means a lot more users (and money) for you.

The best app ever. I never really took the time to put my effort into apps such as this. This wonderful app just keeps me coming back. I really do love this app. DC will always be the best comic Industry in the world. I do wish they had more comics such as the newer underrated comics, but aside from that this is the best app ever. The quality of the shows such as the titans is so great. I feel like I’m watching a cinematic movie, but in reality it’s a tv show. I am 100% basis and I have no problem with that because I feel like this app really gives the full DC experience. From comic books to encyclopedias of a hero to shows such as SwapThing, Titans, Doom Patrol etc... I really do think this is worth the $8.99 and then some. If you are reading this do invest your time and money in this because this is 110% worth the experience

Pretty Good Service, Mediocre App. I like the idea of being able to read so many comics for a monthly price, and the app does a pretty good job of having collections to help you read major events and stories in the DC universe. What the app doesn’t do well is function properly. Every time I go to the My DC tab, the app either takes forever to load that tab or doesn’t at all and just crashes. I heard somewhere that it might be due to it trying to load reading history, then the best fix would be to allow us to delete reading history which you currently cannot do. Another thing is that the dive back in section doesn’t always properly refresh. Other than that, if the app was a little bit more polished, this would easily get 5 stars from me.

Needs more content. When I first heard that DC is doing a streaming service I was so pumped like a million questions I had in my head such as are putting the classic animated shows like Batman the Animated Series or Superman the Animated Series? What movies are they adding? Are they bringing back Young Justice? And then when I heard that they are bringing EVERYTHING DC related to the streaming service my excitement went through the roof. At first they did had most of the tv shows, movies, etc that I’ve mentioned but they’re not adding anything so far. Also I feel like there is a lot missing for this service. Here’s everything that’s not here as of March 24, 2020: The Christopher Nolan Trilogy, Watchmen, About half of the DC Animated Universe movies, Man of Steel, Batman V Superman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aquaman, Shazam!, Suicide Squad, Joker, and the list go on. I am pretty sure that WB will cancel the DC Streaming service because nothing is being added at all! This is a huge disappointment because I expected so much more. I am not sure if it’s a licensing issue but they need to add everything that’s related to DC here and not HBO. Also any original content like Titans, Doom Patrol and others are really bad shows and I would not recommend watching them. The only reason why I’m still paying them $8/month is because that Harley Quinn show is actually pretty good. After I finish watching that show though I will cancel my subscription because I am NOT getting my money’s worth. Other streaming services are a much better value and the quality of the content is also a million times better. This is a huge disappointment and I hope it’s better but I highly doubt it. Also as a side note, why are they removing some movies and keeping others? DC can easily add everything but they’re not and I’m not understanding on why. Anyways that is my review. In short the DC Universe Streaming Service is not worth $8/month if you’re a DC fan, you will be disappointed.

Amazing for Price. I love this app. People need to stop with the viewing selection complaint. It has so many things to watch but people make it sound like there’s not. You pay 8 dollars and have more comics than you can read which i fell in love with. I saw a complaint on reading text on your phone during comics. Just double tap a panel and it zooms in perfectly and double tap to undo. Starting to think the majority of bad reviews are people who only have the light version. For only $8, I’ve already read thousands of dollars worth of comics. I’ve had the month since march and will keep paying since it offers so much. Just look at it like a comic only app with a bunch of extra goods on the side.

Good App, Lots of Content, Can’t Justify Price. My experience with the app has been really good. The comics are easy to read and there is a lot of content available. The app itself works pretty well across iPhone and iPad. Yet I’m going to hold off using it further as I just can’t justify the subscription price be it at the lower or higher tier. Over on the manga side for example, Shonen Jump and the Viz Media subscriptions cost like $6-$7 combined. You get a lot of manga and are getting new releases basically everyday. To get the most out of just this one comics app, you got to pay either around 7 or 15 a month or like 70ish or 120 for a year. That’s just an insane price compared to other services imo. While 120 a year for this would still be cheaper than outright buying comics, I genuinely feel this subscription service could be a lower price.

Getting worse not better. **this is for the Apple TV app** I had a pretty positive review upon launch but as time has gone on I’ve found numerous bugs and feature issues which have fallen on deaf ears. Some of he issues I have encountered are: 1. App crashes and the only fix is to uninstall/reinstall 2. Continue watching section lists items that were indeed completed with no way to manually remove 3. Shows have missing episodes such as Young Justice season 1 and Justice League season 2 which both only list 20/26 episodes and maybe other shows also have the same error 4. The resume function doesn’t start at the last point watched, instead going much further back. 5. On episodic shows, there is no function to move to the next episode—either manually or automatically. We literally have to back out and select the next episode. 6. Building on issue 5, when backing out to the episode list, the one that was just watched isn’t always the one being hilighted adding additional moves to get to the right episode to watch next. 7. There is no functionality on the account screen. 8. There are no community features such as the message boards, news, or encyclopedia. These are the major issues. Sure there are lesser ones like not having all of the content available or having some stuff not remastered to HD. Sure, it would also make sense to not rotate items and simple give us all of the content so we can watch when we want. But at least address the major stuff that goes toward useability and update something more than just one of the platforms.

Bottom line: NOTHING like it (as of yet!).. The service is great cause it has a huge stock of comics I forgotten or only wish I had a chance to read. Well, it’s here (for the most part). And with the live action shows playing out the very characters I’ve known to love only on print, now gives a third dynamic to enjoying DC Comics sagas (ie graphic novels, animation, and now live action shows!). Here’s the thing, after watching a show you’d wonder how the characters pan out in the pages, if the director/writers got it right or took a different approach to telling the lives of these characters. Or, if you were like me, I’ve read the comics that highlighted these characters and just enjoy the directions they’re taking on the many heroes. It’s like having access to the multiverse at your fingertips! Kudos DC!

Great for fans!! A little buggy connecting TV’s. Honestly, I love the premise. They do now have a HUGE comic book library. I mean, huge. You know that series you were interested in but fell too far behind? Yeah. You can at least get the basis of it to see if you want to start buying issues. They have a mostly complete archive of their classic and newer animated series. It’s been a dream come true to just open up my phone and watch BTAS or Static Shock. And the exclusive shows they give access to have actually been really good. Young Justice is absolutely a must watch. Feel free to skip Teen Titans. That was just straight painful. To my very soul. It’s a LITTLE buggy when connecting to the TV. I can’t get the Apple TV app to connect to my account. When streaming it from my phone to the Apple TV I can’t open the app at all or else it’ll cut back to where the episode was when the app was previously open. I think it was a little better streaming through Chromecast. Sometimes the comic book streaming also gets a little buggy, but that’s an easy fix. On my iPhone I just go to the last page and access the next page from the thumbnail menu instead. tl;dr Great content. Really worth the price if you use it regularly. Devs just need to better integrate with the Apple TV.

Love it but…. Ok for the most part this app is great, I love the layout and how easy it is to find things, and I love that you can make lists. The only real problems I have, are that when you’re on the comics tab and you click on one when you go back to the tab it jumps up to the top, which is annoying. And I wish that it had full comic books instead of having a few issues in order, like 1-3, and then jumping to a few issues later and continuing from there, like 6-8. Also, I wish that there were more golden age comics, like The Flash and Green Arrow, and basically any golden age characters other than Batman and Superman. I want to read through everything, and I can’t on this app, which is disappointing.

Genuinely one of the worst subscription services I have ever used. I have payed for a monthly subscription about 7 different times and each time I am either unable to read anything or greeted with a screen saying “sorry there seems to be a problem.” Then once I log out and log back in they completely canceled my subscription each time. When I finally got sick and tired of paying $7 each time I want the app to work I decided to get the yearly subscription. What a horrible idea that was as I was charged $70 and I’m not able to read anything, view anything, or even go into the settings to fix the subscription. Save yourself the trouble and never pay for this, the few times I got it to work it was extremely buggy, glitched non stop, some books just wouldn’t let you read them as it would stay on one page for 30 minutes. Please do not ever waste your time or money with this sight

Great Service, Buggy App. I really enjoy the DC Universe service! It has a good amount of Comics, many of them being classics, along with a lot of great animated movies and TV series (live action as well, but I haven’t watched too many of those). They’ve been continually adding more comics and movies since launch, along with the two original series currently available. The problem is that the iOS app is extremely buggy. The app is very slow when it comes to loading pages of content, and the comic reader has a lot of issues. When trying to go to the next page it’ll often jump multiple pages, and will sometimes even send me back to the beginning of the issue, which can become extremely frustrating. Bringing up the menu that lets you exit the comic reader will often not work, forcing me to fully exit the app in order to get out of the issue I’m reading. I haven’t encountered any issues streaming video, but I haven’t done that on mobile very much (I mostly stream from my computer). So far no updates have fixed these problems. It seems to be the worst on iPad. If you’re mainly going to be using the iOS app, I’d recommend waiting until they stabilize the app before getting a subscription. Once these issues have been fixed this service will be something truly special!

Not the hero we deserved, but the hero we needed🦇. As a DC fan since birth it’s amazing just how much content they have on here, hell I can watch shows like super friends that are so old I’m surprised and thankful DC included it in its pantheon of content. However there are issues with the app more so than some shows and movies being missing like beware the bat, teen titans Judas contract, The Batman(2004) and a little bit more. The main issue with DC universe is the app is unstable crashing and struggling in video quality, not just on my iPhone XR, but my computer which is hooked up via ether net cable. The comic book section is also troublesome with it occasionally starting the comic in the middle or very last pages or again crashing. Honestly if you guys continue to add beloved comics, shows, and movies as well as stabilize your app it’d be perfect 3️⃣/5️⃣

Nostalgia in an app. I didn't know DC universe existed until a few days ago and I would have already been subscribing if I had. The app is really good, but it could still be improved. The search function is a little weird/cramped, but I do like you can search seperately from comics and TV, by title or character. I'm so happy to find all the early 2000's cartoon in one place 👌👌👌. Something I don't like is actually the same problem with Marvel unlimited. I hate that you can't just save an entire series to somewhere (which is what I thought "like" would do) you have to select a specific issue and then go from there. It would be cool to easily save a series somewhere to check out later rather than selecting an issue, though I appreciate if will keep where you left off and can create custom lists.

Vastly Inferior to the Marvel App and Greedy. The comic section recently became bigger, which is great, but they use manipulative tactics to try to get you to buy additional content. They give you a piece of a series instead of the whole thing or start you at an awkward point so you miss the beginning. If you are going to charge this much, you need to go all in like the Marvel Unlimited app, where you get weekly new releases, full runs on books that include the most popular stuff and big event books, a significantly larger library and it’s cheaper. The reason I’m writing a review is that they posted a full run of a series I was excited to read and then pulled half the run while I was in the middle of it. If you are here for the streaming it is definitely not worth your money. Most of the very limited video content is available on more popular streaming services. Like with the comics they cheap out on giving you any of the newer live action movies. Basically anything from Man of Steel and on is not there. It’s mostly the cartoons, most of which you can watch on other services you probably already own. And the original content is not good. It’s like rated R versions of the CW shows. And not in a fun Deadpool way. They are melancholic, overly violent and the boring emo version of broody and they can’t figure out who there audience is. You can’t imagine my daughters confusion when I had to tell her she couldn’t watch ‘Titans’ (she’s a huge teen titans go fan) and then I had to abruptly turn Young Justice off when they blew a teen girls face off (don’t worry though! She’s a wolverine surrogate! Now watch us rip her arm off! And extra bonus, you get to explain to your kids what child trafficking is!) I deeply regret signing up for the one year subscription and would not recommend this to others. It could be good with the thoughtful addition of additional content, but at this time the manipulative sales tactics in at least the comics section is very off putting.

1 Star until all comics are available and free.. This app is really wonderful, I can’t say much more than what has already been said. Although, there are some things wrong with it: When commenting via the Community, whenever you like a comment or hit the ‘see more’ button, the screen jumps around and you lose your place. It is so bad that when simply ‘liking’ a comment, it jumps to the very first comment. So if you’re a long way down, it forces you to keep scrolling back to where you were. Also, not all the movies in the DCEU are available. I own most of them so I’m not tripping, but why is this? I understand the Netflix shows aren’t here because Netflix has a contract to host them, but the other animated shows/movies (Green Lantern series!) Where are they? And the comics portion is pretty good, it’s definitely NOT “World Class.” I say this because frequently if a word-balloon is between panels, you can’t read a word or two and have to zoom out then in and back to reading mode. And they don’t have plans to make EVERYTHING available comic-wise. For some stupid reason they are putting a lot of comics up, but it’s all random and then they take them down shortly after. And “sometime in October” the entire library will be available for PURCHASE. This is the most insane thing to do. Marvel has been hosting everything minus the incredibly new comics and asks for a flat fee. But my beloved DC, who I praise and defend all the time, will require us to pay monthly or annually and then pay to buy more comics. That is ridiculous.

Good but really needs some work. I have been using this app for about 3 years now and the one thing that's been bothering me is the constant glitches. My "Dive back in section" never updates after i finish a issue, so i'm constantly having to go to the entire book series to read the next issue. The list don't work for me as well because i can't add anything or see anything. I have restarted and deleted the app multiple times to see if it will work better but it doesn't. Since then i have kinda stop using the app for almost 6 months because of the constant glitches. Also for some reason after i finish an issue the next issue doesn't come up they show me an entirely different book lol. I really hope they fix these things to make the app better and so i can get back to reading.

No intuitive tracking system and backlog is poor. I love that this app is available. However, it does have several weird bugs, and some features aren’t as intuitive as they could be. For instance, it SHOULD do a better job of showing the user if they have already completed reading a specific comic or how much of it they have completed. I plan on reading a lot of comics; this will eventually become difficult to track. Also, newer comic content is seriously lacking. Honestly, the backlog of comics they have made available does not live up to the expectations that I believe many fans have. If they make this a money grab, by only making partial story arcs available and no content newer than a year old, it’s going to upset a lot of people. You’ve already got our money DC, treat your fans well and they might renew your service. If these areas improve, I will update my review.

Worth it, mostly. Lots of people ask me if DC Universe is really worth the cost and the issues it has, and let me just tell you why I think it is worth it. DC Universe does a excellent job of providing a friendly and fun community where people can talk about their favorite stories or what stories they think should be up next in the DC comic series. DC Universe Staff does a excellent job at finding bugs and fixing them as soon as possible, but it is a huge process to locate these bugs and problems and develop fixes for them, so I understand why their may be some lying around. The original series DC Universe have created are all masterpieces and deserve more credit, and their stores always have something awesome to buy. Now that I have all the good parts explained, let me tell you where it came short. I feel that I should start out by mentioning that I am only writing this review because I am currently locked out of DCU due to a glitch that makes it crash when I open the app. I’ve had this glitch before and it usually is gone by the end of the day or the morning after. The app has its fair share of glitches, most of which get resolved quickly, but are still annoying. Most of the original shows are aimed at adults, (which doesn’t make sense to me because most of the other shows on the app are animated kids shows, like Batman Beyond, that are aimed at young children) but I’m not gonna tell the directors how to do their jobs. Their is frequently changing content and movies so you never get bored and the give always are always fun, but trying to call dc to get a bug or payment issue fixed is like entering the seventh circle or hell. Overall, I feel that it is worth it though, especially if you are a superhero or comic fan. (PS, where is that Green Lantern TV show you guys promised us??)

Just not good yet.... I want to help the devs make this better, but currently it’s a bit unfinished. 1. The app is not optimized for watching videos on any X model iOS devices. There is a white bar at the bottom of the screen in landscape when you’re watching a video, but it’s supposed to disappear after a second. It stays up constantly in this app. Does it REALLY obstruct the screen? Not t horribly, but it’s not ideal. 2. The video quality is HORRENDOUS on many of these videos and takes an inordinate amount of time to buffer... or just flat out never does. I also don’t understand how the Batman: The Animated Series video quality is so poor when they have a Blu Ray set coming out soon. Why do a lot of these look like they were ripped from a VHS tape?? This is absolutely unacceptable from a paid subscription service. 3. App organization is also kind of odd. Favorites don’t show up on the home screen. The search options are a bit too broad. A search for “Batman” will bring up individual episodes of Batman The Animated Series. 4. Missing shows — Where is The New Batman Adventures???? Again this is unacceptable from a subscription service in 2018. You already have more limited content than say Netflix, so why wouldn’t you include ALL of it, and in the BEST quality you can get? I haven’t even tried the comics yet, but I’m not holding my breath for a super clean experience based on the rest of this app. I want this to be better, so I’m commenting. I’d love a dev response to at least know they’re trying to make these better. Otherwise, I’m going to end this subscription pretty quick and bounce back to my Marvel subscription.

Horribly buggy app. Great content (though it still needs more comics) but the Apple app is just awful, making it a chore to read. (I only use this app to read comics on iPad; I watch videos on TV with Fire TV, and that version of the app works much better.) First, the current reading queue annoyingly mixes comics and videos together (the Fire TV version separates them). Next, instead of showing only the most recent issue of a comic series, as does the Marvel Unlimited app, the queue displays multiple read issues of the same series which makes it unnecessarily cluttered and a pain to navigate. Finally, it can be maddening to read comics: it frequently spontaneously advances the page or places elements of the UI onscreen without any input; sometimes it refuses to change the page; pages often will not load (instead displaying a nice image of Alfred). Hopefully, these issues will be addressed.

Needs a lot of improvement. I had low expectations going into this. I knew the full catalogue of movies, shows, and comics would be incomplete. The issues I’ve encountered are from using it for the last 4 hours and they might not be huge but they were a big deal to me. I knew I wouldn’t spend too much time in it, but as far as the comic section goes, there is a minuscule amount of Superman content for how many issues there have been since 1939. I got the app to binge the original Teen Titans and while they seem to have the complete series, when watching episodes it will skip over multiple episodes at a time. On a smaller note, seasons 1 & 2 are consolidated and listed as season 1 and 3 & 4 as season 2. Another issue is the discussion threads: when scrolling through comments, once you’ve reached the end it will force you to the top, and does the same thing when liking and responding to people; super annoying. When trying to post a thread, you’re forced to add at least one tag from a list that has redundancies, might not include what you actually want to discuss, and just doesn’t seem necessary. The app as a whole seems pretty low effort and definitely doesn’t deserve a yearly subscription in its current state. I’m sure you could justify a monthly subscription but for me I’ll probably just use the free trial and cancel it then make a new account if I want to stream anything else. The only reason i wanted the service in the first place was to get Young Justice, and if subscribing is the only way to ensure more Young Justice then it’s going to be tough journey for potential future seasons.

Great Idea Not Quite Ready For Primetime. First off, this one stop DC shop is a great idea, with various media’s blended together to offer a truly unique streaming service. Having all of the animated series in one place alone may be worth it for some people, not to mention a fantastic comics reader, encyclopedia, and forum. However, the overall experience is wildly uneven depending on the device being used. UI across the board is clunky, but the worst offender is Apple TV, which is all but broken. Want to see all movies available? Too bad, this isn’t an option. Want to watch all of the episodes for a series? Can’t, only 20 episodes of a season are available, even when the episodes are clearly accessible on other devices. Want to stop a video and pick up at the same point later? Not a chance. As a fan of DC, I am giving this a shot, but so far the experience has been frustrating.

Wait months to read new comics?. So I’m trying to understand we have to months to read the latest chapter but Im paying a monthly subscription to read so what’s the point ? I want to read it now I thought this subscription service would give a direct way to read DC comics but I have to wait 3 months? Shonen Jump has a subscription service way better that this and they let you read new comics as soon as it’s a available. I’m really trying to see the point you charge us a monthly 7.99 for comics I already caught up on then sit there anwait for 3 months to read digital first comics and the 6 months on print released comics do you want your app to have low usage or something this is a terrible subscription service I get we could buy the comics but then why a give us a terrible subscription service so buy the comic out right this service becomes nothing in long run wait months to read or get the comic out right then get rid of this service

So many randomly missing comics. It’s nearly impossible to finish a series because whole entire books are just missing. There’s no “this book is being added aa/dd/cc” or any mention that the series continues on, it just suddenly stops and gives you a dead end. What is the point of having so many different series if so few of them are complete? The developers should just focus on completing the series that are already up instead of adding new ones that are never finished. Not to mention it’s nearly impossible to find anything. I’m not into Superman or many of the big titles, I want to read the smaller series but I can’t because I can’t find them. There needs to be a way to discover comics instead of just hopelessly trudging through the “storylines” trying to find something that’s not justice league. It’s really hard to find stuff if you’re a new fan and you don’t know which exact comic you want to read.

Unnecessarily complicated. The idea of the app is good, but it really needs to take a hint from other apps with the same purpose. Simple things like downloading episodes are very complicated and even once they're downloaded they're not automatically in chronological order. I ended up watching episodes 1,2, and 7 somehow even though I let it automatically progress to the next episode as I was watching it. As others have reported I've also experienced issues where an episode is download and I chose it from the download (why is this even a question... if it's downloaded play it from there!) and it failed to play then when I backed out and went back in it said it was no longer downloaded. For $7.99 a month it's incredibly difficult to get the content I'm paying for. Please look at apps like Netflix, VRV, and ComiXology for a defining user experience.

This app is a buggy mess. We’ve had DCU for almost a month, and we have had our share of problems with it. We’ve mostly watched the episodes over chrome cast which admittedly comes with its own share of bugs and issues, however the issues with the app have been constant even when not in casting mode. First of all, every time the app opens up when you try to scroll past the new episode banner it obnoxiously forces you down to the bottom of the page to the comics portion of the app. Even if the app is still open and coming back from lock screen same problem. The app has problems changing episode, multiple times it has gotten stuck playing the same episode of a season no matter how many times you try to change it. It’s just randomly crashes from just trying to do anything. Of the few series that have multiple seasons, when trying to select a new episode from pulling up the series it will seemingly randomly get stuck on a particular season either the first season or the current season; regardless of which one you are currently on. The cast button is only available from the home screen and unavailable even from within the episode. The actual content is fine. There are some great shows on it, not many. But the app needs some work.

Loving the lasting DC legacy. First of all, let me just say because of DC Universe, I feel like a billionaire with infinite storage capacity for my comics. There’s something magical about DC comics. Don’t get me wrong, Marvel is absolutely great too, but DC has a very strong family-feel connection between the strings bonds of the characters with each other and with the readers. The current DC Universe is astounding with beautiful storytelling, but I’m currently enjoying the beautiful storytelling of the eighties and early nineties that still feed in to the current stories. The writers and artists obviously love the rich DC history that they can play in, and so do I. DC Universe is SO worth it just for the comic book content alone! Thank you, DC and everyone working there, for putting old and new favorites at my fingertips.

Great app, just one issue I’m having. Maybe this is a random bug I’m getting or something? I don’t know. Let’s say I’m in the middle of an episode of Young Justice or something and want to leave it for a bit to check something else out on the app. My instinct is to press “Pause” and then the little arrow in the top left corner to get back to the main page. However, when I press Pause is when the issue starts. I can’t get out of the screen, because the arrow in the corner (and also the play, rewind, etc buttons) appears now only in a brief flash as my finger is leaving the screen. Then it disappears again! If this could get fixed, that would be wonderful! 😊 All this being said, I think this app is pretty great already as is! Just this one little thing!

Downloading shows or movies. I really enjoy the streaming service because of the content it has but I must say using the mobile version has been driving me absolutely nuts because of all the bugs I’ve been encountering! Sometimes if I press the pause button it will glitch and not allow me to continue watching the show forcing me to close the app and restart. Or sometimes, if leave the app for whatever reason it will not give me an option to pick up right where I left off and again I’ll have to force close the app and restart it. Granted, this isn’t a terribly big deal but the simple fact that I have to do it at all is frustrating and I would say it happens 4 out of 10 times which isn’t unbearable but it still needs to be addressed given this is a subscription based service so the subscribers deserve a near flawless experience.

Please add THESE things.. Please please PLEASE add an option that allows us to go to the next episode of a show right as soon as the credits hit for the current episode we are watching. I’ve been binging Titans over the past few weeks and it annoys me how everytime an episode ends, I have to skip to the end of the episode, wait like 8 seconds for it to load, then to go to the next episode. Get something like Netflix or Disney+ has where you can easily, go on to the next episode with a prompt that happens at the end of each episode. This makes binging shows 10x easier for the viewer. Please also add more movies, you guys recently removed Son of Batman AND FLASHPOINT.... ? Add them back!! And add more! Add Man of Steel, Batman V Superman, Justice League, Suicide Squad, Joker, and SO MUCH MORE movies and TV shows you guys could read.

These good reviews must be fake. I have never felt so taken advantage of as a customer. This experience will make me seriously question if the upcoming HBO Max service will be worth it. The technical: The developer never tests anything on an Apple TV. It was clear from their responses to problems that they were basically outsourcing Q&A to us, the customers. The app has only recently become consistently stable. The iPad version still has guaranteed crashes when reading comics. If you lock the screen, the next page will fail to load. Every time. The content: Want to watch the upcoming Alfred? Sorry it won’t be available. New season of Krypton? Nope, on another network. Anything CW? Nope. Any DCEU movies? Nope. It is a stark contrast to Disney+, which has almost everything. Your subscription gets you this: old animation you probably already own, two seasons of Titans you could’ve bought for less than the one year subscription, Swamp Thing (cancelled before it started), one season of Doom Patrol, season 3 of Young Justice, and a large-ish comic library. DC and Warner Bros clearly have licensing issues to work out before they have any business asking people for money for a subscription service that doesn’t actually have all the things they make. I received an email saying that they are lowering the price, but given how sluggish content release has been for the past year, they should lower it further or make the upcoming year free for all the “founding members” who had months at a time with no new content.

If the app worked better, it would be great. Let me start off by saying that I love being able to access essentially every DC comic ever made (up to 6 months ago). However, it's becoming increasingly frustrating trying to read these comics because this app is SO sluggish and unresponsive. I continuously find myself tapping the same thing 3-4 times before it actually does what I want it to. Even something as simple as turning a page in a comic (both downloaded for "offline" reading and not) can take multiple gestures and several seconds. Opening a comic from the Home Screen has similar issues. I also subscribe to another [insert synonym for infinite] comic app, and have no problems, so I know it's not wifi issues. I just feel a bit ripped off when I'm paying for a service, and it's borderline unusable.

Great content, bad application. I’m so happy that DC is consolidating their video library and making so much of their comics catalog available under one subscription. If they continue to add more comics to their collection they can count on me remaining subscribed for years to come. But while the service and selection are fantastic, the iOS app is shockingly buggy. I’m frequently unable to access even the content that I’ve downloaded onto my phone. Searches fail often. Comics that are no longer available to download will appear to be available, and my only clue that they’ve been taken down is when downloads fail. The “more” button next to comics or video has a tiny tap area, so I’m frequently launching content accidentally when what I want to do is delete it. The list goes on and on. While $8/mo is a bargain for the content we’re offered, the delivery system HAS to get better, and soon.

Same month old problems. The app is barely functional compared to what it was just a few months ago, and that wasn’t perfect but it was good. It’s the same problems as many of the other recent reviews, My DC works about 20% of the time which adds hurdles to the biggest selling point of the app, convince. It’s not hard to find the comic you were last reading or were about to start but the ability to jump back in so easily when My DC was usable made it so easily worth the money. The subscription is fantastic when it has an app to support it, that’s the most disappointing part. I just upgraded to the yearly subscription even when these problems started because I had hope it’d be a quick fix, and I don’t regret the upgrade but I guess I’m just going to be spending the majority of my time on the Marvel app until they eventually fix this one.
