Doesn’t work. My experience was exactly the same as Jake Wh’s. Once I connected to the oven wi-fi, the app did not permit me to move to the next step.

Does not work. This app needs to be fixed if the manufacturer does not wish to waste the time of their customers and lose market share. Very poor consumer experience.

App doesn’t work. This app will not let me proceed once I’m connected to the network for my oven. Therefore it will not update my oven and renders the remote function of my oven useless.

Still useless and unreliable. Have not been able to use the app to control the oven for over a year. This is the third iteration of a Haier app that is rife with intermittent and unreliable problems. Support cannot fix and will not cover WiFi module replacement. GE will not be getting my money for a ‘smart’ appliance again.

App does not work. I’m with everyone else on the reviews. You are required to jump back and forth with WiFi connections between the router and the appliance. Once it tries to update the appliance it’s no longer connected and stays gray on the button.

App freezes. So after many emails back and forth with th GE connected appliance team I was able figure it out. My iPhone version is not compatible with the update and was told that it had to be iOS 12 or lower. My phone is on iOS 14 and the app update was released on 11/4. Anyway, I was able to grab my dinosaur Ipad which has an old iOS on it, download the app and voila! It works on my phone once again. Massive fail on the developers part but this trip back at least 2 iOS updates did the trick

I wish I could give it a 0.. Just like the other 1 star the app goes in this loop. After connecting to the oven and switching to my WiFi network it just sits there with the spinning wheel.

Broken on the first step. After selecting the ovens SSID, it does not allow me to go to the next step. Will this be fixed?

The worst. If I could give 0 stars I would. Once you connect to the oven’s wifi and return to the app, as the directions say, the next button stays greyed out and makes it impossible to update. Therefore you will never be able to use the remote feature. Absolutely terrible.

Update Doesn’t Work. I connected my oven just fine when I first got it. After a few months, it stopped responding, so I disconnected and reconnected it. The SmartHQ app said it needed an upgrade which I downloaded and ran. As a previous reviewer stated, the Next button remains grayed out, so the update never finishes. Now the WiFi-connected features don’t work, and are utterly useless.

Terrible and useless. I’ve not been able to update my oven after spending hours on this app. The ge kitchen app keeps sending me to this app to add my oven. It gets stuck on "Looking for your appliance" forever and I don't know if my oven is connected to my home network and downloading the update or is this app downloading the update and sending to my oven.

App Does not work at all. Totally useless. It does not ever connect to the oven. Once connected via wifi, the “Next” button in the app stays inactive.

Doesn’t work with some models. I have a GE Profile range model # PGS960SEL1S. When trying to setup the WiFi, it redirects to this app because the oven needs a software update. However, the oven SSID is GE_MODULE_XXXX, not GE_OVEN_XXXX like the app is apparently looking for. The app developer needs to update the app to work with other models, or someone needs to tell owners what to do, instead or sending to an app that won’t help. Very poorly executed support.

Not Available in UK. Please make the SmartHQ App available for AppleID users who are living in the Caribbean but whose region is set to other countries!!! I bought this range and now I ant use the Airfryer because of an APP!!! It’s ridiculous!!! Or tell me how to disconnect the need for Wi-Fi to use my airfryer!!!

Will not update. Unable to connect to my new Cafe double oven. When I connect to WiFi in oven the next button is grey out preventing proceeding to next step like all other reviews. Can we fix this app please. $4000 oven and WiFi doesn’t work.

Useless App. This is a useless App. After connecting to my over through WiFi the next step is still grayed out. No workaround, no help provided. Just did nothing except take up space on my phone

It doesn’t work stuck at step 2. I connected my oven network as instructed but the app won’t allow me to click “next”. Newest iOS and android both won’t work. Android 6.0.1 worked

Fail fail fail. How long has it been since you’ve seen an app that has no review that’s more than one star? This app simply does not work.

App does not connect. Same as the other review, ge app connects fine, this app stays greyed out and you can’t proceed. I’m on the GE oven WiFi.

App doesn’t work.. I’ll preface this by saying I’m fairly tech savvy and not a user that doesn’t know how to link smart appliances. Tried to get my remote operation function on my GE oven to work and had no problem linking to my ovens WiFi network to update its software, however once I link to the network and switch back to the app as instructed, the next button remains greyed-out, preventing me from progressing with the mandatory update, making it impossible to use the remote operation functions.

App simply doesn’t work..... My GE Cafe Oven Wifi remote did what it was supposed to do for four years until the Haier folks decided to update the control software forcing this app on their user base that doesn’t work. My oven Wi-Fi remote feature is now bricked and 1 hour and forty-five minutes in the phone with a tech brought me back to square one. While he was remarkably supportive, he was clueless about the existence of this problem.

Crap update DOES NOT WORK !!!. What else can I say? THE APP DOES NOT WORK. Good luck contacting GE. What happened to them? They used to be a solid company. No more.

This App Does NOT Work. The app won’t let you go beyond step 2. When you connect to the oven’s WiFi network and go back to the app, the ‘Next’ button remains grayed out so you can’t continue with the update. Very frustrating! I am not able to use my oven’s remote capabilities at all because the update is required.

Next Greyed Out. Like the other reviewers, the app doesn’t work at all. Connects to the range fine, but the next button is greyed out. For a company the size of GE, I’m shocked that they haven’t upgraded the app in so long, and I’ve read that in order to get the update app to work, I have to be running iOS 12 OR LOWER. Now that I know GE doesn’t plan on supporting appliance firmware for more than 5 years, I won’t be buying them again. If you’re thinking of buying a “smart” GE appliance, don’t expect them to support it, so go with something that isn’t GE/haier… Either update the app, or offer an alternative to update, GE. Very disappointing, and just shows how old GE management is when it comes to technology…. “Make them buy a new one in 5 years..”

Doesn’t work. The GE smart app forces you to download this to run a firmware update to your smart appliance. The issue is that this app is hardcoded to only look for smart appliances who have a network name pattern of “GE_OVEN_xxxx”. My GE Oven’s network name doesn’t match that pattern, so the app won’t connect to the oven appliance and will not apply updates. Quality. 🤦‍♂️

App doesn’t work. I have a Monogram double wall oven that has always worked with WiFi until app was updated. Now it redirects to this appliance update app, which doesn’t recognize connection to appliance WiFi network. Once connected, the option to proceed with update remains greyed out, therefor preventing appliance update and connection to WiFi control.

GE Monogram double oven. I am having the same issue where the app to update the software is not responding. Restarted everything a couple times and still cannot get it to work.

GE is a terrible company. Why leave this broken trash on the store? Probably because none of this works any more and only a few people use it, so easier to ghost everyone than admit you killed a feature.

This app doesn’t work. After connecting to the GE network, the app never recognizes you are in it and won’t move past telling you to connect to the network.
