App doesn’t work. I have a GE Cafe refrigerator with Wi-Fi, the app won’t even let me create an account let alone use it. Looks like a dead app that is no longer updated.

For GE appliances, download SmartHQ.. Folks, you’re downloading the wrong app. For your GE appliances, download SmartHQ (by GE). In my case, install, create an account, setup washer + dryer.. 20 min start to finish.

Trash. App is absolutely trash can’t even make an account

“Forbidden” App…try SmartHQ. Like many other reviewers I too got the forbidden message. However, I was able to use the SmartHQ app and everything worked.

Jon Rutkowske. I see why it has two stars. Put in email and several different passwords and it comes up with “Forbidden” every time. Can’t create an account and the remote that came with the unit is inop. I wouldn’t have purchased a GE air conditioner if I had known this.

Worthless!!. I have tried to connect. Wants email and password only! No place for a new register! How can I sign in if you have no place except for previous customers!!

Forbidden???. Annoying. Same issues as everyone else. Can’t setup to login. Says forbidden no matter what email or password you use.

Does NOT work. When you try to create an account, it tells you that you are not allowed or authorized to create a new account. Not impressed so much for their “smart“ control solution.

What even is this. There is no way to create an account or otherwise control the product through this app. When you open the app, it looks like a website with news articles and you can’t even zoom in to read the tiny words.

Can’t sing up. No way to sing up .

Worthless. Do you want me to return this fridge? Can’t connect to WiFi and this app is trash. Won’t work, keeps saying “forbidden” whenever I try to just create an account.

Forbidden. When you register it gives a “forbidden” warning with no info on what’s forbidden. Password has to be 8 characters (really letters I think) not 7, not 9, no nummers, no special characters. How dumb is this? Worst app ever.

App doesn’t work. You can’t create an account - don’t advertise your product as a smart product when your app doesn’t allow you to create an account to use the smart function on the product. They also don’t list any contact information on the app anywhere. Useless and if I could give 0 stars I would for the app and their products.

Worst waste of my time in a long time!. Instructions to go to this site to register new dishwasher. Non-existent page or instructions in this site. Very poor page for customers. So sorry I ever came to this site.

This is the wrong app. Everybody download SmartHQ to use your appliances.

Can’t create an account. What’s the point of the app if you can’t make an account. I almost didn’t get the appliance because they don’t have a great reputation. I really hope this refrigerator isn’t going to be an issue since the company can’t even make a working app!!!!

Can’t sign in probably. I’m an employee and whenever I try to sign in with my sso it opens the login up on a new page instead of opening up on the app itself

Using the wrong app. You are using the wrong app for GE appliances you need to download the SmartHQ app, it literally tells you that while doing the setup on your appliances.

Can’t create account. When creating the account is says forbidden

Doesn’t work. Can’t even create an account. I’ve tried about 8–10 times now and it just says “forbidden”, with no other explanation. It looks like nearly everyone reviewing the app so far has had the exact same experience. Either fix the app or just get rid of it. It obviously doesn’t work at all, for anyone. I guess I won’t be able to use the WiFi features of my appliance. 🙄

Not useable. I certainly hope my new GE product works better than your website. I’ve tried to register twice twice now and it tells me nothing other than forbidden and does not go forward. Totally useless.

Why no replies from developers?. I see all those ONE STARS but the only replies are other users doing the work FOR the developers but directing users to another app! I used Comfort - GE Appliances as directed in the owners manual with my GE products! That app has vanished with no mention of using that other app!

Impossible to create an account. I enter my valid email address and an 8 character password, per the app’s instructions, and get a “Forbidden” message every time. I have tried my Hotmail, gmail, and work email addresses. Is anyone at GE appliances awake at the wheel?

Worthless. As others have said, it’s impossible to create an account. All of the wifi features are unusable until this is resolved.

In response to Cease11CC. You used the wrong app. This is a business app. You need to download SmartHQ to hook up you Wi-Fi and HomeKit. It's glitchy and took me 3-4 attempts. But it's connected just fine now.

Not worth your time and effort. Looks like other parties trying to gather my information not interested thank you I’ll just manually run my dishwasher like I normally do

Junk. What is the point of this app if you can’t even set up an account? One of the reasons I picked this particular dishwasher was to have the app. NOT happy at all!

It does Not Work!. You can’t even create an account! I just bought many Cafe Appliances and tried to connect as to take advantage of what GE has to offer. It will not recognize my email and refuses to make an account! Why would you tell people to connect if they can’t! Just not very happy

Can log on. When I try to log on it asks me to create an account and no matter what I enter for email or password it says “forbidden”. No further detail is offered and I cannot go forward. I Deleted this app almost immediately. Don’t wast your time

false advertising. So much for a smart connection. The app does not let you sign up for an account. I would have bought another product if I knew the app wouldn’t work. This ac is going back to the store.

NOT the lates GE App - obsolete - go to SMARTHQ. The manual for GE appliances say to get this app. This app doesn’t work any more. The newest app is the SmartHQ app. Get that one and you’ll be able to register and connect fine.

Why do these companies not actually care?. From blurry logos to not allowing anyone to login or create an account. Then went to create it online and doesn’t offer service in Canada? Lol but they will sell the damn product here. Don’t waste your time. It looks like they had someone code this fresh out of high school.

Not the GE Appliances app for smart AC. I had trouble creating an account so I went to the actual GE website and asked about the app. The real app to control GE Appliances is called Smart HQ

What the heck is an SSO?. No username or password. No way to sign it. No way to set the appliance and, of course, the appliance won’t let you connect directly, you have to use this useless app. Completely not intuitive. This is a terrible experience. High end stuff should be easier than this.
