Cheaper than the Roomba I7. We had the Shark IQ robot for nearly one year with more than 200 cleanings of our 2100SF main floor. We’re not convinced its cheaper price over the Roomba makes it a better choice, mainly because it requires constant attention in order to get reasonably thorough cleaning. We’ve worked closely with Shark support in dozens of calls for help troubleshooting, and several firmware and App revisions later, the robot behaves differently but still has the same fundamental problems. For example, it frequently cannot find its way back to dock. It can’t create an accurate map. It is extremely inefficient doing a small area of one room, leaving to vacuum another room, returning to the previous room to vacuum more, etc. Having said that, the only reason we don’t rate it with only one star is because it does clean and we’ve appreciated the help it provides, but when we compare it to the Roomba I7 (a friend has the I7 and they don’t have the problems we see with this Shark), if we had the chance to start over and choose, we would probably spend the extra to get the Roomba.

Mixed review on latest app update. The user interface on the new update 4.0 (40) is ugly and looks way different than the previous version. It’s just not pretty. Some data on the cleaning history has been wiped out and is not displayed (run time and area cleaned). If I tell it to go clean a specific room on the map instead of the whole house, it takes about 5 minutes after it launches from the dock to go into that specific room. It cleans the floor in the room where it’s docked for a few minutes before it heads into the room you asked it to go clean. But with the ugly comes some control fixes. The robot seems to communicate better and faster with the app whereas before the update some control buttons on the app were useless. I had to push the button on top of the robot if I wanted it to return to the dock before it finished its cleaning run. Also the “find robot” feature is now working in the updated version but didn’t in the previous version. Hopefully the developers will fine tune this version with a nicer looking interface while maintaining functionality.

Good, but a long way to go. The app is missing too many features. To begin with a digital alarm clock has more features for scheduling than this app. Zone/room scheduling is a must and needs to be implemented not only for the obvious benefits, but I have noticed that when scheduled, and since scheduling only allows the entire floor plan, the robot gets confused if part of the floor plan is blocked off, i.e. a door is closed, this creates major issues as the robot can do just about do anything once it’s confused, entering no go zones, not leaving areas, and even kicking its own dock around. Scheduling needs to be fixed ASAP, that’s the biggest issue I have. Please see Roborock if needed. Mapping is fairly accurate and it took a few runs to map the floor plan like I wanted to and the cleaning ability of the rv1000 is wonderful. Please provided the option to allow the map to continue evolving and add new areas. For now it’s a bit annoying to delete a well established map and redo it all over again just to add one other room. Luckily the mapping is good, but it still shouldn’t be the case. It’s also unfortunate that high traffic area zones aren’t available for the rv1000 model. I don’t know why it wouldn’t be. Also to have the options to increase suction in rooms and not just high traffic areas. The robot definitely has potential and does great work processing data to cover the entire floor plan, but serious work is still needed in the app to add options and features.

Bad WiFi Connectivity. We bought our Shark Ion Robot RV750 just over a year ago. I tried several times every day for about 3 months to get it connected to WiFi with no luck. I gave up and one day it connected on its own, finally... Then the newest update came out, disconnected it and again I can not get it to reconnect! We really love our little Rosie, she does a fantastic job in our farm house. She has no problem at all cleaning up after our dirty feet, dogs and 4 grandsons running in and out of the house from playing in the fields around us, but this WiFi issue is a big problem. We love and use the schedule option, but can’t without WiFi. It is also supposed to be voice controlled through our Google Home, but that doesn’t work either. It’s not a problem bending down to turn it on, but it’s a huge inconvenience with our busy schedule. I’ve performed all of the trouble shooting suggestions in the help section more times than I can count. I’ve searched and searched for a fix for these connectivity problems but nothing comes up and from what I’ve read in these reviews calling customer service is completely useless. If Shark see’s this review I would really appreciate some actual help and a fix for this long time on going problem!!

Shark Matrix. I recently bought the shark matrix and it has been a little over 2 weeks, and I’m amazed at how well it’s keeping my house clean. I have a corgi who sheds like crazy and was tired of having to vacuum up myself every day which is what pushed me to buy a shark robot vacuum. After watching many reviews, and it being on sale I finally bought one. For the price I paid it is perfect. I also love that it comes with a bag less self emptying base which was another factor in choosing this model. The house mapping feature could use a little more work though, but it’s pretty accurate for the most part. I like that I can designate certain no go points to avoid certain obstacles that would otherwise make the vacuum get stuck or mess something up around the house. I also wish I could map out another floor in the house. Maybe in a future update they will allow that, but it’s not a deal breaker for me. I highly recommend this model to anyone looking to keep their home free or dust and pet hair.

I can’t understand. I don’t understand how in the world this app is very so many positive reviews. Everyone I have met in person who owns a shark robot vacuum absolutely hate Shark. I have owned two. Shark IQ XL self emptying, that one I paid for. The second, was the same model but a replacement from Shark because the first one failed within a week of owning it. The second one worked well for the first two months and now it’s at it again. Either the robot or the app combination is completely crap! These robots can’t seem to hold on to a wifi signal. The robots are constantly falling off the signal rendering it completely dumb. These robots can’t follow app directions if not connected. I have done multiple reset and called customer support, which are HORRIBLE, that’s a different review! When I call them I have to wait 24 to 48 hours for a “engineer” to call me back. Took them 3 weeks and me calling twice a day to get a return call. It defeats the purpose buying one of these is you have to baby sit it since it won’t respond to my commands. I might as well use my upright (non Shark brand, thank goodness) stay away from these things, they are so poorly made, at least the software.

Shark review. What to understand is that this product will not completely take over the occasional use of a typical vacuum. It will clean the general floor plan of your home but will not be able to completely replace your typical vacuum to get a more “deep clean”. For general convenience, this product is a great tool to just press a button and have it tidy up a bit. The complaints I have with this product is that you must take apart and clean the parts of the product pretty often for the vacuum to work efficiently. I would say I clean mine every 3 to 4 times it runs through my home. Fail to do so clumps up the motor and it just gathers hair and dust and drops it off in one spot for you to pick up. Secondly, the mapping on the app does not seem to work well with the controls of the unit. For example, the vacuum’s hub is in our bedroom. If I were to tell it to clean the living room and dining room, it would take 20-30 min of it wondering in our bedroom before it made it into the living room/dining room.

Vacuum is great, App and Customer Service not so much. Love this vacuum! I’m constantly disturbed by how much dirt/dust it picks up on every trip. The app, however, has major flaws! You can’t schedule rooms to be cleaned, has to be the entire house. It’s takes forever to map the home and can take several tries (even days due to draining the battery) to get it right. I’ve had the app randomly delete rooms which force me to go through the painful re-map process. The recent app update not only deleted rooms, but also has created an issue with selecting/cleaning rooms. I used to be able to select multiple rooms to clean in one trip. Now that does nothing, it just gets stuck on “communicating”. I now can only tell it to clean one room at a time. I called to report these issues and the girl was quick to pass me off to someone else (instead of hearing me out fully) then I got stuck on hold. I hung up and am posting this review instead. Buyer beware, the vacuum is great but comes with a lot of frustrations.

This app and map feature is HORRIBLE!!!. I have had “Alice” for almost a week. She had a map that was almost accurate but every time I was prompted to accept or delete the map, I would click on “Approve” but the app was repeatedly non-responsive. I could find nothing on the FAQ, manual or online to help problem solve the issue. I tried to email customer service but the app kept telling me I needed to first enter my personal email in my phone, even though it is stored in both my phone and through my registration of the app/ linked product. I finally found where you could reset Alice to factory settings so I did that, uninstalled/reinstalled app. The online video shows that the robot will first “Explore” your home to get an initial map and includes screenshots. Neither time during set up did this part happen for me. It went straight to prompts for WiFi set up, explained briefly that mapping will take several cleans and then it prompts you to click “Clean”. I keep doing this but whenever I click “Clean” after it has docked, it starts again with my master bedroom and rarely gets to areas yet to be “cleaned.” I am happy with Shark vacuum quality having the stick vacuum, but if I have to spend so much time problem solving the app so I can create rooms to vacuum more frequently where my dogs are, then it’s not worth the high cost, right? I’ll return to change my app rating if/when it gets better, which I hope is SOONER rather than never.

There’s no way these aren’t paid reviews. For such a huge company, this app is absolutely pathetic. The map constantly just disappears, re-arranges rooms, and freezes into a state where nothing can be edited, and the robot itself follows the most illogical paths, cleans the same areas multiple times, and gets lost finding its way back home. To make it worse, if you are lucky enough to get to a point where you actually have an accurate map and tell it to clean only specific rooms, it seems to just do it’s own thing most of the time and clean wherever it wants. Ours has started to clean multiple times in the middle of the night (12-2AM) without being told to do so. We have factory reset it, cleared the map, etc. We’ve tried everything. In theory, this is an excellent machine for the price with the scheduling, mapping, and self-emptying features but without a decent app it’s all meaningless. DO. BETTER. I want to like it, but I also want to not have to think about it. That’s what makes a tool like this actually useful and convenient. That iRobot at Costco looks like a better deal every time I see it….

connected. mine connected initially, dropped and then would not reconnect no matter what i did. then i called tech support and the following got me connected and it has worked perfectly ever since...(1) made sure my phone was using the latest ios (2) turned off my cellular data (3) selected “forget” on my wifi connection on my phone...then reconnected (4) presses doc and spot to put vac into setup mode (5) clicked on the vac in my wifi setting to connect to it (6) when redirected to the yellow colored screen in the app clicked “done”....do not select the wifi at this point - this is where the problem is- you have to click “done” and select the wifi connection and enter your password later. (7) clicked add robot in app (8) selected the wifi to connect to (9) walked through the rest of the setup steps and named the vac (10) waited on the app to connect and....Presto, it was connected and has not lost its connection since. Of course, you can turn your cellular data back on after this. So, try this or call tech support. They were awesome, very nice, knowledgeable and patient.

Shark IQ Self-Empty is nothing more than a glorified random pattern robot. Shark IQ Self-Empty is nothing more than a glorified random pattern robot due to the lack of robot/app connectivity. We have strong WiFi signal throughout our house. When the robot is running, the WiFi indicator on the robot indicates it is receiving strong signal. However, the app constantly loses connectivity with the Shark IQ and is therefore impossible to monitor and control. What good is the schedule feature if the app can’t communicate with the robot? Every time the robot returns to the dock (if it can even find it) connectivity is lost with the app shortly thereafter- even if I have the phone directly beside it! In addition, the robot has NEVER been able to navigate to a selected room as advertised. Until the app is able to maintain connection with the robot, the Shark IQ falls way short of expectations. Updates have not improved connectivity issues. WiFi light on robot still shuts off while charging and connectivity with app is lost - rendering the the robot useless. We cannot schedule anything nor can we start the robot from another location. The only way we can reconnect with the robot is to remove it from the dock/shut off/replace on dock. What’s the point? Robot falls way short of advertised capabilities. I see no alternative but to return the Shark.

Awful mapping. Terrible support.. We’ve run our Shark IQ 33 times over 21 hours and the map of our house is still not finished and has been getting worse. The main problem is the robot goes to the same side of the house EVERY TIME. Not once has it went to the other side of the house first. The battery (even on eco mode) runs low before it makes it to the other side (all but 3-5 times) so the rooms that we need to clean the most never get mapped. I’ve gone as far as to remove most of the furniture in the side it goes to every time to help speed up the process, but still nothing. I’m not a programmer, but it baffles me as to why it doesn’t alternate the direction it searches in while mapping. Seems like common sense to me. I called Shark and the only option they gave me was to reset the map. 6 days of constantly baby sitting and having all the lights on in our house, running as often as possible, for nothing. I’d return immediately if I could, but we used gift cards and we don’t need $400 in store credit at bed bath and beyond. I can’t even tell if it cleans well because we have to run it in the lowest power mode so that it can attempt to map the house! So the actual cleaning may not be up to par, but I don’t know. I should’ve listened to all the negative reviews online. The software of this robot is excessively poor. The Roomba self emptying robots can’t possibly be this bad.

Hire new programmers!!!. First it took several tries to get this device to connect to the app even though there was a pop up to join the Shark device Wi-Fi. Then it didn’t want to join the Wi-Fi at home. Finally got past that. Whew. Then I went to register the device. What a challenge. I work in IT and was finally able to find a work around. When you go to register it sends you an email to confirm the email address and account. Should be pretty simple but this link took you back to the App Store. When you click open in the app stairs it takes you to the app but doesn’t take the account verification, instead it won’t let you log in because you have to register your account. This sends you another email so you just get an endless loop (the first thing they teach you to avoid when you learn programming). The work around was to register the account on their website. Of course when verified it said the password was wrong so then it sent an email to reset the password. Seriously guys, get new programmers. So my next step was to enable the Alexa skill. Hahahaha. Good luck with that. You get the log in and enter your information only to get a bad gateway error. There is no way to get past this. The partnership with Alexa was one of my reasons for purchasing this device. PLEASE GET NEW PROGRAMMERS!!!! I haven’t used the device yet but this review is for the App.

I hope developers read this. I love this vacuum cleaner. It’s quiet it does his job it’s consistent but it could be a lot better. First, would be very nice to fine-tune the map. It is frustrating to have to re-create the map from zero every time you move furniture or make changes around the house. Scheduling, it would be very nice to be able to set the vacuum cleaner to clean certain areas of the house at certain times and have multiple schedules. For example, I want the whole house to be clean every day at 9 o’clock in the morning, but I also want the kitchen to be cleaned at 1 PM and again at 9 PM. Also, when the robot senses distress, signal causes caught or the batteries are about to die. You should be able to see in the map where the robot is. Also, there should be a find my robot feature where you click on the button on the robot starts to chime. I hope that you take this suggestions and implement them. We would have a better product.

App navigation is clunky. The vacuum is okay. Mapping was all over the place. On the first few runs, it created something that looked like the monster from John Carpenter’s The Thing. After deleting a few monster maps and starting over, I finally got one I could work with. It was frustrating, and I almost returned it, but I’m glad I stuck it out. The app itself feels very amateur - like a cheap knockoff of the iRobot app. Navigation is clunky and inefficient. For example, let’s say your vacuum gets caught on something. The app gives a notification. So you go to clear the issue, and want the vacuum to proceed with the job. You have to go into the app, go to the notification, and then go back to the menu to get back to the screen that shows the robot so you can resume vacuuming. This is overly-cumbersome. It looks like this was designed by programmers, and with little to no thought around actual user scenarios like clearing a stuck wheel. I really hope someone from Shark/Ninja reads this and can use it as ammunition to actually fix this clunky app to be on par with the competition.

Good but not great yet. (Having to rebuild your house map with new app updates is frustrating). The app and vacuum are 80% of the way there and overall I’m pretty satisfied with them. However, my biggest frustration is having to remake the house map from scratch frequently with new app updates. The vacuum works great for a month or two but then all a sudden when I try to have the vacuum go clean the kitchen, all of a sudden the house map is gone and it has to do the whole house again once or twice to rebuild the map. Other than that, it’s pretty great. Deals with pet hair like a champ. Navigation is good. I have some larger than average lips to the floors in different rooms and even though it can have a hard time getting over them, it still manages to get over them after a try or two and doesn’t just think they’re walls and give up like a previous vacuum we had. Like I said, a whole lot to like. Losing the house map frequently is really my only big complaint.

Shark vacuums. I have several Shark vacuums, the Rocket when I had carpet, the new Duo Clean which I got when we recently had hardwood floors installed, and now the Ion Robot, which my husband got me for Mother’s Day. I have been so impressed with the quality and affordability of all my Shark vacuums. Over the years I have had a number of more expensive vacuums and none of them measure up to the Shark vacuums I have back problems now and love the light weight and ease of use of the Shark vacuums. The Ion Robot has been especially helpful for me and does a very good job of cleaning my hardwood and tile floors. I only have to use my Duo Clean occasionally to get the few areas the robot can’t get to such as under the couch and large arm chairs. The Ion Robot cleans under my tables and even my beds! The Duo Clean is wonderful for tile and hardwood and I have been impressed how well it picks stuff up, down to even the dust on the floors. You can actually see where the vacuum has been run as you’re vacuuming because the dust is gone. I’m a Shark customer for life!

Doesn’t have all features?. I updated my app but it doesn’t have any features like the “high traffic” zone, “ultra clean” or the “spot clean.” Also I’ve read that it’s supposed to be learning as it cleans and constantly improving the map but I have never seen it updated. Every day if goes into my bedroom which still does not show up on my map. Nor does on bathroom. Which is annoying because it has a spot where the vacuum always gets stuck. But since there’s no room on the map I can’t create a “no-go” zone… I try to keep the door closed but it winds up getting stuck in there like once a week. I know I can redo the map, but that took a long time before and I have no-go zones and room boundaries and labels I’d prefer not to have to re-do. I really wish there were an “update map” button where I could get it to add the missing areas to the existing map… It also would be cool if you could schedule it to do only certain rooms. As of now, you can manually select individual rooms but the automatic schedule is only the whole house. When I go away, I always have to close or prop certain doors so it doesn’t get stuck in rooms while I’m gone. I’d like to set just the entry/living/kitchen as the default auto-clean. I also didn’t see a way to submit these comments as feedback to the developers which is why I’m here.

Needs improvements. This review is for the app not the mop vac robot that I have. The app needs improvement. It logs me out all of the time. It doesn’t show where the robot has cleaned and is currently at which a lesser machine from a different company does and I expected this to be at least that or better. It also needs to tell me when it’s charging and will resume cleaning verses just charging and I get mad thinking it finished when it really didn’t. Also when it goes back to dock and hasn’t finished cleaning (which again you cannot tell this when you look in the app) if you tell it to go somewhere else assuming it had finished it previous job it sets out to what I thought was it just being lost. Turns out it set out to finish the job I thought it previously finished. I then have to send to back to doc clearing it’s instructions. There has to be a way for us to know what the robot is doing. Finished cleaning, where it’s cleaned, charging and will resume cleaning and for the live stop signing me out I use my robot multiple times daily!

Waste of Time and Money. I purchased the Shark Ion Robot V750 series back in March ‘23, and there have been so many wrong things with this robot. First, I’ve spent hours of my life just trying to get the Robot to connect to the WiFi. The initial setup was a nightmare. The instructions didn’t match the version I purchased. Then when I FINALLY figured out how to activate the WiFi function, it wouldn’t connect to the WiFi. I had to call customer support and it took them DAYS to get my Shark connected to my online account. I couldn’t do this through the app. There was also a “mapping” feature advertised on the box, but that’s not a feature I can access. My Robot doesn’t map out anything. It slowly moves randomly around the house bumping into things hoping to sweep up the debris. I can’t fully register in the app because there isn’t a “United States” option so I can’t enter my address or phone number. Finally, we recently changed WiFi providers and when I went to connect my Shark to the new network and nothing I do works. The app goes through the motions and says the Shark is connected successfully, but when the whole process is over, there still isn’t a connection. I’ve only had the Robot 9 months and, needless to say, both the vacuum and app are garbage. Don’t waste your time or money!!!

Great so far. I’ve had the robot for about 4 days now and so far it’s been great. I had a hiccup the first day because the bin got clogged and had to be manually removed. However I gave it the benefit of doubt simply because my floors at the time were atrocious. The vacuum mapped the house on the second go which I found to be great and now with scheduling I’ll be able to keep the floors clean enough so it doesn’t get clogged again. I rate for 4 stars because there are some features on the app that I’d really like to see. First I’d like see the scheduling be more flexible as far as being able to choose which rooms are to be cleaned. I know this issue has been brought up so hopefully the developers are listening in this one. The second thing I’d like to see is permanent choices such as vacuum strength always being on max. I shouldn’t have to always go into the app to change the vacuum settings it should be something that’s done automatically based on user preference otherwise that defeats the purpose of setting a schedule and being done with it. I just feel the robot does a much better job picking up the finer material on the ground when on max and battery life shouldn’t be an excuse on a robot that can charge and resume. I really hope the developers take these request seriously because so far I’m loving it and I know it can be so much better!

First days with Shark IQ. The first cleaning is a bit trying as we learn the capabilities of this robot. We have many pets, so the initial clean was full of many alerts as the sensors would get obstructed or the roller would jam. The second full clean went much better and with the third, we had a good map that allowed us to choose rooms. Very nice feature. Challenges for us: The bin fills pretty quickly and fur tends to resist being evacuated by the canister vacuum. I’ve been tracking customer feedback and have seen the firmware in the robot has improved greatly over this past year. That says a lot for this company. Additional future recommendations for Shark IQ Development would be: 1) Allow more time sections for returning for emptying. 30 minutes may not be often enough for our home. 2) The ability to schedule rooms for cleaning. Some rooms need daily cleaning, others do not. It would also help with the collecting too much debris. 3) Mapped “keep out” locations. The mapped rooms work well so perhaps there may be enough resolution of this as well. Overall pleased with product and hopeful of additional software updates.

Great vac!. We recently installed luxury vinyl plank on our entire first floor. We have 2 cats and a dog. Between pet hair, cat litter, and every day dirt, the Shark does a great job keeping up on the vacuuming. I have it scheduled to clean the entire first floor at 8am every day and then just the room with the litter box at 4pm. Mapping took 2 days and is working good for me. I’ve had about one month now. I’ve been too curious to wait and see if it can go 30 days without emptying. I empty it about once a week but will probably let it go longer once curiosity subsides. 2 minors for me so far. 1 - twice now I’ve found the shark turned off next to a doorstop attached to baseboard. I’m not sure why there’s a power switch that could be pressed so easily. 2 - the Alexa integration needs some work. It took a while for me to figure out how to create an Alexa routine to automatically clean a specific room. It seems like it always wants to ask you which robot to use. After much searching online, I found how to do it. There’s an action called “custom”. I then write “alexa, tell {robot name} to clean laundry room”.

Impressed with Sara. Got for my wife for Christmas and quite pleased. Sara does amazing job getting the hair left behind by 2 active Boxers and equally active cat who spends time wrestling with our male Boxer. They pay little attention to her now they know she doesn’t eat their food. Dust bin is near full every day she works. Gave up trying to get her to keep schedule on local time as she constantly reverted to default, so just adjusted schedule based on default time zone. Although programmed to clean 7 days, she sometimes doesn’t. Guessing it may be lost Wi-Fi connection? This is reason for loss of star. Also wish Notifications were pushed via email or text instead of having to check the app. We have lots of obstacles and I am amazed how seldom she gets stuck as long as we remember to pickup a couple of lightweight rugs at doorways. Would love to see a mapping feature to see exactly where and how she goes. I can envision getting more units as they improve to work other areas as our rooms aren’t connected via halls.

Great App; some issues, needs stronger features. The app works great, besides my maps looking like I drew them when I woke up in the middle of the night thinking of puppies and kittens. The app definitely needs stronger features, such as running devices on the same mode each time they run. Say if I wanted to run the vacuum on ECO at all times; especially since it runs daily and works amazingly (thank you shark IQ AutoEmpty). Wish that we had the availability to schedule the vacuum to run up to multiple times per day. The biggest drawback I’ve found with the app is that the features lack commonplace things that would be extremely easy to implement, such as it letting me know that it’s on an Evacuate and Resume/Recharge and Resume mode. Something to let you know that it’s going to finish the job, since the app doesn’t let you know. Biggest fear is that my dogs would happen to defecate on the floor and I think my vacuum won’t be on while I’m at work, then it makes a bigger mess than encouraged through Shark’s advertising; since Roomba already has that against them in multiple memes.

Great Vacuum, Excellent App Features, Map Needs Work. This vacuum does well in a large 2000 sq ft/ level house. We've purchased a second for the other floor. The empty and resume is excellent, but like charge and resume is a bit buggy. Our floor plan is not standard, and it is 75/25 on going back to the right place. The map feature needs a serious update. The fact that you can build in rooms is great. I went through and measured each room, and overlaid it on the map. Once you do that, however, it decreases those rooms to the map it has vice adjusting its map to account for the missed areas. For us this includes the hallway which leads back to the dock. So, every fifth run or so it gets lost in the master bedroom on the opposite side of the wall dock from the foyer and can't find it. I could not leave the robot alone cleaning during the months we are not here. Also, it's not really a "foyer," but you can't name rooms. There is quite a limited selection to pick from so the names that we have standardized throughout our smart home cannot be employed as used over our Alexa and mesh networks. Hopefully the next update solves these, then it would be a 4.5 star review.

Power Level?. Why can’t you set it to always be at max power level? I have a small house and don’t need to worry about the battery. I have it set to clean while I sleep but it’s always just set to normal power. Only way I can get it to go to max is when it’s cleaning I have to open the app and manually switch it. It wouldn’t be hard to have a setting in the app so you can always have it clean at max power. There are plenty other bugs with this app I don’t feel like listing but it’s actually really bad. 90% of the time I can’t even hit the button to stop or start it I have to do it manually because when it’s not docked it says it is and when it’s cleaning it says it’s docked. This whole app is crap and so is the $200 vacuum it’s constantly getting stuck on imaginary stuff and gets tons of errors. It’s almost a daily thing I’ll wake up and have to search the house to find it and put it back on the charger because it got “stuck” on something and then the battery died. I would never ever buy another shark again it’s been a horrible experience for my first robo vac that I’ve been wanting for years and finally splurged on…

Best Floor Robot Vacuum I have owned.. I have owned several other brands of robot vacuums. The others constantly banged up the baseboards of my walls, needed constant supervision, and were a jumble with no specific method for complete coverage in floor cleaning. I had walked out on robots for the floor, and then along came the Sharp Matrix Robot Vacuum with its fantastic technology 📱 that left the others at the starting gates. This machine cleans 🛀 the house 🏠 effortlessly and effectively. It also created a beautiful map on the Sharp app on my iPhone or iPad so you can control all functions of the robot right from your cell phone or pad. You can clean the entire home regularly or have it clean a specific room. You can even tell it to avoid certain areas of your bungalow ( computer wires, etc,) and it will remember what is off limits 🚫. I found this product on an introductory sale at my local Costco. This Sharp Matrix Vacuum robot is an excellent product at a great price. In my opinion., it beats all the others, hands down. I would buy another one today if I did not already have this one. It’s OK. The vacuum works pretty well but I already had to replace the brush roller, which wasn’t covered under the warranty. I’ve only had the machine for about two months. The battery doesn’t last very long so it has to charge multiple times during a cleaning and sometimes I think it forgets to clean rooms. There is a cleaning history but it never updates so I never know which rooms actually got cleaned. It’s not as loud as a regular vacuum, which is nice. It’s still too loud to let it run at night though. I also get notifications in the middle of the night that the vacuum has experienced an error, but it’s been on the charger so I don’t know what that’s all about. I bought the vacuum on sale so at least I didn’t pay full price. I don’t hate the vacuum, but I don’t love it either. The app is super basic and doesn’t really do much but you can start a cleaning run at any time, set up no go zones and other basic things. Not a lot to talk about regarding the app.

App has some issues. The app works okay most of the time but it does have some issues that are annoying. It would be nice if you could set the mode (vacuum power level) and keep it instead of having to reset it to your preferred mode on every cleaning cycle. It kind of takes away from the convenience of having a cleaning schedule. The other issue I see with the app is with the notifications. First of all I have them turned off, and they still come through, which is a problem. Second, I delete and/or clear there notifications and they continually pop up, for days to weeks after I have already cleared them. I should not be receiving notifications from last week telling me that the Shark can’t clean because the dust bin has been removed. I delete them and they continually pop up while the Shark is actively cleaning. The vacuum itself is great, works really well for my needs, and I have 2 hairy dogs. The mapping seems to work well and the history feature on the app is nice so you can see what areas the Shark may have missed each day. I would rate the app a lot higher if it weren’t for the annoyances I noted, that seem like they should be easily corrected.

Cleans really well, but app could be so much better so easily. The mapping is a great idea, but it’s executed poorly. You are not able to edit the perimeter of the map at all. You can delete interior walls, but once you do, you can only add rectangular rooms. You can use the merge feature to add 90 degree turns, but once you merge them, it will enlarge the room by like 2x for no reason so you have to stretch it back to where it was… every time you want to make a wall turn. It’s practically unusable unless the robot runs the scan for the 20th time and actually does it close to perfect, because you are not going to be able to edit it. We ran the scan twice so far and the map had so many easily fixable mistakes that I wasn’t able to fix because it’s impossible to use the editing feature. This also ruins pretty much all the other features like setting zones and spot clean if you want to spot clean outside the map since the app won’t let you add that area unless you also scan the rest of your house again. All that being said, this thing cleaned our floors so well we could eat off them. Great robot design; bad app design.

Helen Keller. We love our shark but it does at times lie to us. The history map sometimes does not reflect what she had actually done during a cleaning cycle. Sometimes she acts lost and has difficulty finding the docking station. The docking is positioned according to the instructions and we have never moved it, but she will eventually find the docking station. We have a complete map and named the various rooms. I did not over tax the program by naming every single room. Instead I have four areas that were names, master bedroom (bedroom and bathroom), kitchen (kitchen and dining room), living room (living room and foyer)and den (den and extra bedroom). If I indicate to have the master cleaned, the shark will head to the dining room. It’s as if she disregards the cleaning instructions. Because of her actions we have named her Helen Keller (Helen for short). Aside from that we are happy with Helen’s performance. It actually cleans the floors and carpeted areas. I have run my upright Shark vacuum over areas Helen had just cleaned just to see what she missed. To my surprise she misses very little. Very impressive considering her size and being completely blind at times. I’m looking forward to any and all updates. Hopefully Helen will do better and rid herself of the dark colored shades and cane.

Surprisingly good!. I’ve held off getting one these because I was skeptical, and it’s a lot of money if you guess wrong. I finally got an opportunity to get this one for free, though, so it was time to find out the truth. (I chose it as my “20 years with the company” gift.) While it’s obviously not as smart as YOU are, and sometimes rolls over things (and gets stuck) that you would know to avoid, by and large it has been fantastic. I honestly thought we kept a pretty clean house... until this little gizmo found all the stuff we weren’t getting (including TONS of pet hair). Our floors, especially the low-pile, dark rugs, have never looked so good. It runs at night while we sleep (not too noisy; hasn’t really bothered us, anyway), and in the morning I remove it’s little collection bin and dump it out. Couldn’t be easier, unless it could empty itself! We absolutely love it and recommend it to everyone we know.

Needs some improvements. This app works well in a basic way, but there are several areas that need improvement. First, notifications are broken. I often get notified of old notifications. I clear them, but then they come back. The app will show notifications when none are present. Second, scheduling is not very advanced. All you can do is set one time for all days, and it assumes you will clean the whole area. This could be improved by allowing schedules for certain rooms, different times on different days, multiple times per day (to allow for individual room cleaning at different times). I would also like to set suction power. I want to clean my high traffic areas every day and on high suction with other rooms being cleaned at different times and at different suction. Third, it seems to start over as far as the progress indicator if it encounters any error. Fixing the error should just resume the progress. Fourth the map needs a lot of work. Being able to only create box’s for rooms and no go zones is very inflexible. I’d love to be able to draw a line for no-go, and being able to create shapes by stretching corners or even free-forming a design would be very helpful. Finally, create a suggestion option within the app so it could be improved.

Not connecting?!?!!. I love the robot itself. But I bought this one in particular because if it’s good reviews and app control. I set it to clean on the days that I would like for it to clean. It’s cleaning on those days but the app says that it’s not connected. But it still cleaning on the correct days/times. But I can’t check the status of my robot because the app says it’s not connected. So when It got stuck the other day I did not know. Because according to my app didn’t even clean. My husband was home and said it did.. I have deleted and reinstalled the app & the robot multiple times. Only to find out an hour later it says it’s lost connectivity. So my vacuum leaves the dock to clean at scheduled times but never turns back to the dock. It’s a little annoying that it says it’s not connected yet the Wi-Fi signal on my vacuum is lit up and my Wi-Fi around my house is very strong. But the app says there’s no connectivity??! The shark can’t clean on the schedule if there’s no Wi-Fi connectivity. So I’m a little confused as to why the app says there’s no connectivity but my vac is still cleaning on schedule. I get no updates or status on my robot because the app says it’s not connected yet it’s moving on my house cleaning as I write this review.

Make sure it works before release!. My Shark was FINALLY performing pretty much as it should, after receiving the latest firmware. Then it began doing things never before experienced, and not doing others, such as providing the history of each (daily) operation. This is very inconvenient and annoying as it is not possible to see where the vacuum swept during the routine. Also, we have it set to recharge and resume due to the large area to be cleaned. Just before the app update and after the firmware update, the unit would sweep until the battery level was well below 50% before returning to the base. Now, it stops at one hour, usually with 80 - 85% remaining, recharges, then cleans for another hour and stops, no matter how much area is covered. Lately it seems to resweep many places and completely skip others, but never the same from one day to another. Again, it’s hard to be sure without the history. This is by observation and by any debris remaining on the floor. (If it sweeps an area it gets the debris!) When this unit works correctly it is a joy, however I have had to contact customer service so often recently that I’m about to throw in the towel and switch brands. It would be a shame if it were due to poor programming of an app that completely destroyed the usefulness of the product! Check these out BEFORE release rather than trying to clean up the mistakes after upsetting your customers!

Works but could be better. So far the vacuum is OK. The app needs some major work. I would like to see the ability to schedule certain rooms for certain days or times, and the ability to do multiple maps and floors. I wish I could tell it to vacuum in certain directions as well. I created a ‘room’ for a certain area within a room so that I could tell it to go clean that area specifically. We have birds and they are messy, which is why I got the vacuum. Being able to label areas within rooms or ‘go zones’ would be helpful but I guess the room layering will work for now. Have only run the vacuum twice and it mapped pretty well. It took a while for the map and the option to clean certain rooms to show up though. One worry I had was that it would just push seed shells and feathers around rather than pick them up. So far it has done a pretty good job, although there is some air output that makes really loose feathers fly away. Definitely glad for the empty bin as she picks up a lot of stuff. It’s good at resuming after emptying, but not after returning to charge. I assumed it would just automatically go clean once it was charged but it hasn’t. I think if you tell it to clean it will go back to where it stopped though. Time will tell if this is a worthwhile investment.

SharkBaitOhAhAh. This vacuum has been amazing. I have a LOT of corners and crevices that it gets into and surprisingly gets back out! My main floor is about 2000sq ft of all hardwood floors and the vacuum runs for 75min to do the whole main floor. Against what I thought was my better judgement (because I knew there would be an impossible amount of hair to keep up with), I allowed my son to rescue a Husky. She is one of the sweetest rescues we’ve ever got to live with and because of this vacuum, I almost never see her hair around the house. It’s just amazing! During that 75min period, SharkBaitOhAhAh empties herself midway, but keeps them on going to get the rest. And the holding container holds enough that I only have to empty it every other full cycle. The only downside of these disc vacuums is the sound and why I rated 4 stars. They are a little loud so if I’m on a phone call, it’s a small inconvenience, but I will have to pause the session because the person on the other end can hear the motor going, similarly as you would if using any upright or handheld. Not a huge deal but would be a nice improvement on future models. I also have a Rumba disc vacuum for carpets that we use in the basement but it doesn’t hold a candle to the Shark brand. I will often have to pull out my Shark upright to finish what the Rumba missed. Shark Brand is the BEST!

Seriously??. I find it extremely hard to believe that this app has nearly 5 stars. This app is trash. It rarely controls my vacuum like it’s supposed to. The map feature and being able to instruct the vacuum to clean a specific area does not work. It literally never works. The app will show that the vacuum is docked when it’s actually cleaning. If it begins it’s second clean and I feel like it doesn’t need to I hit the dock on the app to end the clean but the vacuum just keeps going. The new feature where you’re supposed to be able to get more cleaning time out of your battery doesn’t even show up on this app. I have repeatedly tried to update the profile on this app and always get the message “something went wrong”. I have have the RV1001AE robot. My vacuum is pretty great. A little dumb sometimes like heading to the opposite end of the house when it’s dock light is flashing. And cleaning specific spaces repeatedly and other spaces halfway or only one time. Kind weird but it does the job no matter how oddly I think it gets it done. But the app to control just doesn’t work. I generally just press the button on the vacuum itself to get it started because the cleaning schedule doesn’t work on here either. People please stop writing your reviews for the vacuum on here! Your review of the vacuum goes on the shark website. Review the actual app on here….this isn’t that hard. I really like Shark products but this app needs an overhaul.

Horrid App!. The shark robot itself seems fine, but occasionally won’t connect. I still can’t get SharkClean to connect with Google Home or Google Assistant. It appears to link but every time the assistant turns it over to SharkClean, it says there is an error connecting. The fact that my house is one level and 2900 sf makes it a challenge. We setup in the middle of the house. So far, it’s done well over 25 routines in six days but I have yet to see the ability to use the map to designate rooms. The videos they show are ridiculously banal and vague. No where does it tell you that it takes return trips to empty and recharge then starts over. It has yet to do my entire house and usually starts in the same pattern so there are places yet to be seen. I’m such a neat vacuumer myself that I’m annoyed at how it misses corners and around large furniture that it can clearly go under! If you have a sleep number bed - BEWARE! It will try to go over your hoses under the bed. Use something to block it from going near them. 34 runs in 2900 sf in six days a no still no usable app. So I’ve had it a week and find it does a great job in high traffic areas and getting up dog hair and dust but I’m getting so frustrated over the app that it’s spoiling my enjoyment. PLEASE IMPROVE THIS BAD APP!!!!

PLEASE UPDATE THE APP FOR 5 STARS.... to have more than one schedule time!! We love Bruce!!!. We have had Bruce Shark IQ Self Emptiing... (Shark’s name from Nemo...”hi Bruce”) since May 2020 and it took a little while to map the house but once it was set he was golden. He can be a little loud but it’s a vacuum so who cares. Only issue I have is we have a Lab who sheds 2 more of herself a day. It says it doesn’t clog but nearly every time it goes to empty it’s clogged and we have to cut the hairs off of the roll. My main issue is we groom her (brush her daily and bathe her weekly) but she still leaves a whole new lab on our hardwood floors (we have dark floors and she is a yellow lab) I mean that is good so we can see if it’s being picked up and not having guests coming over and us thinking it’s clean when it’s not... so as far as Bruce goes he does his job. As far as the App goes it drives me bonkers you can only set one schedule... I personally would like one in the morning afternoon and at night or at least in the late morning or evening... please add this option to the app please. Thanks so much! The only reason I didn’t give it a full 5 stars is due to the app being behind. Other robots have more than one scheduled time you can place on your robot for when you just don’t want to have to think about it which is the point. I don’t think it would clog if it was cleaning more than once a day.

App/vacuum issues. With this being a “smart vacuum” and paying a pretty penny I feel that it’s lacking some of the smart features and I’m paying for a really cool looking vacuum! I love this vacuum to say the least, but the app I am rarely ever able to control the vacuum from my phone(the start clean, head to dock, and suction type). Not sure as to why that is an issue, also the mapping it doesn’t seem to be the vacuum having the issues. Seems as if the app and the software are just not on the same level. Also I do not understand and actually I laugh sometimes when the vacuum is banging against the dock like it’s not there. This app needs some serious work over! With time I do feel it will get better, love the vacuum but the app and the software is terrible. The mapping is another issue, again I’m beating a dead horse, example of this issue; vacuum is mapping out my apartment vacuum goes into the bathroom daily, vacuum does not show there is a bathroom, I also don’t want to waste my time trying to erase and redo the map because it will take more than 4 weeks to get an apartment of 645sqft to redo.

Poor Software, Mediocre Robot. We bought our Shark IQ self empty at COSTCO in January 2022. The software is a by far the worst part of this setup. Why? Because it doesn’t work. The app doesn’t connect to the Robot at all. It tries, but then drops the connection. It doesn’t matter if I place the Robot right in front of our router and sit my phone right in front of the robot. When I called customer service, the representative made it obviously clear that Shark vacuums with Model codes starting “UR…..” seem to be the biggest problem case. He claimed he escalated it to the “UR-Team” and we would get a call back within 24-48 hours. But here we are 14-days later and still no call back. Needless to say, Sharks customer service is poor at best. The vacuum robot itself is OK. It is equal to our old and outdated roomba from 2010. We have three dogs and the shark iq self-empty will pickup about 95% of pet hair and dirt on hardwood floors. Same as our old roomba. But since this is a 2021 model, it should greatly outperform our old and trusty roomba. Unfortunately it is just equal. Since the app doesn’t work, it is not any better than a old roomba.

Pretty darn good. It’s amazing because I don’t have to pull the “real” vacuum out of the closet very often. It is amazing because I get to see how much dirt and dog hair it cleans up when I empty the container (which is super satisfying). I will say that it seems to have no rhyme or reason to the rooms it chooses or the vacuum pattern that it takes, but it seems to do a pretty good job. Overall it is definitely worth the money. The battery life isn’t super great (about 1-1-1/2 hrs) but for anyone in a single story home it’s fine and after charging for a couple of hours, it picks right back up. I wish it had a setting where you could take it upstairs and map that area of your home, but it doesn’t. You would have to buy another unit. We have two Australian Shepard dogs and they shed constantly. Our home is much less “crunchy” and “fuzzy” since we bought the Shark. My favorite part is probably the app. I can map out my downstairs and remotely tell it what specific rooms need cleaning. Pretty awesome. Good job Shark. Maybe work on the level of suction and add options for how it cleans the room. Example: diagonal, horizontal, multi-pass mode, deep clean mode, etc. I’m a happy customer. Thanks y’all

The best robot shark vacuum!. I used to work for a cleaning company and we used shark vacuums. I was always AMAZED by the dirt the vacuum would pick up out of a rug and it would make it look BRAND NEW again!! I’ve never seen a vacuum do that before. So when it came to keeping my house clean of course I got Shark. Haven’t been disappointed at all! 5 Stars all the way around. Noise is sometimes irritating so I go upstairs while it cleans my downstairs but I don’t mind the noise if it means it’s using that powerful suction to get everything! It does an amazing job with cat hair. Never gets caught up in it and always gets sucked into the vacuum canister container when it’s done vacuuming which doesn’t need emptied except every 2-3 months. I’m honestly so impressed with the ability it has to clean the cat hair up considering I have a long haired cat that sheds a lot. All the time. I have mine set on a timer every night while I’m in bed so I don’t have to work around it. It’s amazing!

My shark experience. I absolutely love my Shark robot vacuum. It is the third brand I tried. I was unhappy with the first two brands and I returned them both within a few weeks. One was cheaper and the other was more expensive thank my current one. This Shark vacuum is so much better than either. It accurately mapped my house and thoroughly covers all areas every time I run it. It returns to the docking station to empty and goes right back to pick up where it left off. When the battery is low it returns to recharge (about 3 hours) and again returns to finish the job. The other two had difficulty finding the docking station. The Shark always goes straight to it. The noise level is similar to the other two. Not too loud but noticeable. We can comfortably talk over it while it is running. The noise it makes when it empties is much louder but only lasts for a few seconds. There are a lot of features on the app, however, I haven’t had an opportunity to use most of them yet. My floors have never been cleaner and with no effort from me.

Appealing to the Eye but not User Experience. When I got my Shark I was pretty excited, just as I am about all technology that’s new to me. I’m an automation technician so this is especially profound to me, but this app ruined all of the fun. I’ve been trying to get this bot to connect to the app for 3 hours now, and between the app crashes & it simply not working, it’s really making me regret buying this bot. It seemed pretty dope to connect it to my Google Home, map out the whole house, & have routine cleaning to give me just a bit more time to do why I would like to do throughout the day, but that’s not what I’m getting. I contacted customer support & did the same thing that I’ve been doing for the past 3 hours, just for her to tell me she’s going to have to transfer me to someone higher up - TOMORROW. That’s sad. The bot itself is alright, but if you bought it with the intention to use the whole package, then lower your expectations. I’ll wait until I get through with this customer service call tomorrow to see if I actually enjoy this thing & update my ratings. But for now, I’ll just smh 🤦🏽‍♂️

want to love it.. The latest update broke it!!!! Keeps asking me to approve my map and it says disconnected. Can’t get past approving my map. PLEASE FIX. The app now shows it has cleaned my entire house when all it is doing is going around the perimeter of rooms and returning to the base thinking it is done. Come on for this much money this thing needs to be better. Since the update I can’t ever connect to my robot. Constantly restarting. Please fix. Update: now the robot totally dies before even getting close to the room the dock is in. I have deleted my maps a second time and it just keeps cleaning the same room repeatedly. The app says the robot is at 100% but after cleaning doe 40 min that is completely inaccurate. So far not impressed with the mapping at all. It does 3 passes in a room and then goes into the next room and does about the same. It keeps going over the edge of my stairs and getting stuck. It also NEVER cleans and resumes in fact half the time it stops with 40% battery. Yes ALL the lights are on in my house and I have cleaned the sensors and gotten 0 help from support. Where it does vacuum it does great and gets under places that never get vacuumed. This needs to be fixed.

Good robot, terrible app. The functionality of the app is awful. We purchased for the ability to schedule rooms to clean daily. After more than 30 full house cleanings, it hadn’t mapped our home. Per support, we deleted the map and did a factory reset. We then did an additional 10 cleanings, but the robot was completely missing rooms of our home. We couldn’t schedule, cleanings, etc. Per support, another factory reset. Additional cleanings mapped the house within a handful of cleanings, but even when it would clean the whole house, it didn’t map some of the rooms. We decided to move forward with the map, hoping it would work itself out. We built out rooms, but still can’t schedule anything but an entire house cleaning. We can choose ad hoc cleaning to specific rooms (supports only resolution, which I think is crap) but it still ends up cleaning the entire house. We have another brand with comparable functionality and it far surpasses what Shark has been able to put out to date. But I love how the robot itself cleans. Emails to support do not get a response, and aside from recommending a factory reset, we are told our tickets are being escalated, but then there is never a response or resolution. I usually love Shark products, but this one needs a lot of work.

Shark Robots. I love this machine, just wish graphics were better quality. I have the vac/mop and it works amazing. No real issues so far and I’ve had this machine for 2yrs now. You should seriously invest in one or two like I did. One for upstairs vacuuming only in rooms with carpet. Can’t go wrong.

Could be better. Even since the app update the rooms map won’t let me just tap the rooms I want I have to go to list view. I love my sharks but I like how the roomba app had way more features

Junk. This app is Junk people don’t buy this vacuum the app is junk

Glitchy and frustrating.. Keeps deleting the map and losing the vacuum information. Reinstalling takes multiple efforts. My only option is to use the clean button but sometimes I want it to go to a certain area and not the whole floor. Giant pain. Wish I’d known before I bought.

App Issues and Vacuum Problems. Things that are problems, need to be fixed/added: 1) Make No Go Zones work. I Have No Go Zones defined but our shark will not honour the No Go Zones defined. 2) Allow me to select Rooms in Scheduling. Can not specify which rooms to clean in the schedule setup...it is All or Nothing. 3) Allow for multiple maps/save existing as a new name. One with zones and one with no zones. Allow me to pick which map to use when sending unit to clean and in Scheduling. 4) If No Go Zones worked...allow me to name those and choose whether to honour or ignore the zone when sending unit out to clean. Or allow the multiple maps as noted above so I can choose which map to use. 5) Allow for multiple floor mapping. 6) Unit gets very confused/lost regularly. If you send to a room(a) to clean...more often than not the unit will randomly move/bang around near home base for about 3-5 min before figuring out where to go. 50% of the time if you send the unit to say the Living Room on one end of the map the unit decides to go and clean a completely different room. 7) When you select “Clean” in the app it is supposed to prompt you if you want to clean the entire map/house or you can pick specific rooms. Quite often (50% of time) that prompt does not come up and it just starts cleaning. You then have to send unit back to the dock and try again. 8) Can send unit to clean specific room which it will do but many times will also go and clean another room and area as well at random. Bought the IQ XL unit in January. Will keep the unit for a little longer but if there is not an update ASAP that addresses honouring No Go, actually finding a room, and being able to schedule specific rooms then this goes back. I can go buy a “non-smart” unit for a fraction of the cost and have it work as well if not better than this! Definitely a unit/app with a low IQ. I have deleted and allowed the unit to map the floor many times but that does not make a difference. I always make sure I have the latest version of the application, I have contacted support more than once but they are not at all helpful and in most cases I know more than they do about their own product.

Shark. Beaucoup mieux que les autres robot

Aspiration. Semble passer plusieurs fois à la même place et retourne souvent à la base même si la charge est encore très suffisante.

Tough stains.. I love this machine! The only issue I have is that it doesn’t get rid of tough winter stains from all the salt, sand and dirt left on the floor at the entrance of my apartment as a result of using a personal cart.

This update was garbage. This app update is terrible. Saved data like the model number and serial number disappear.

Good App with One Giant Irritation. The app works well for mapping your home and managing the robot. However, the issue that it faces is that setting the schedule is a nightmare. When you rotate the dial to your preferred hour, minute or AM/PM, it immediately reverts to the current time. Even if you can hold things down before it elastics back to the current time, the schedule isn’t always preserved. This needs to be fixed!

Does not keep power level settings. RV1000AE keeps forgetting the set power level. Even if the setting to save power level is enabled, it always uses default power. Also, when you go and check, the save power level setting is disabled, although you just enabled it.

Shark clean review. Whenever if I try to select a room, it doesn’t work on a shark self empty

Vac/Mop. The Shark is one of the best tools I have to keep my floors clean! It amazes how well it keeps the floors clean.

Seriously?. You cannot schedule rooms for cleaning! This is not a robot anymore…

Needs improvement. The robot itself is good, the only issue is it’s always loosing the connection with wi-fi. The app is fair, does the mapping and allows you to set a schedule (may not be useful if wi-if connectivity is lost). It would be nice to have multi floor mapping feature.

Unable to select rooms. With the newest version of the app released in Feb 2024 I can no longer select individual rooms to clean by tapping on the room. I can only use the list view

Five stars!. I purchased this vacuum with the idea that if it did okay, I’d upgrade to a more expensive version. However, this little thing has gone above and beyond. I run a rescue that currently has 7 kitty’s between the ages of 7 months old and 3 years. So everyone’s pretty active. I also run a full time business and my boyfriend works full time. I turn this guy on when I leave in the am and the floors are dust and hair free when I return. It’s amazing what this thing picks up. I was worried it wouldn’t hold much but it does. I just dump it out in the evenings and good to go. SUPER convenient and really does the job much much better then I anticipated. Worth every penny.

Love the ‘bot! The app… it’s complicated.. The app is more than serviceable (mapping, scheduling and vacuum intensities are great) but the lack of support for (or strategic refusal to integrate with) Apple’s HomeKit, shortcuts or plain (dum*) Siri is BAFFLING. Yes, I tried the Alexa app to enable voice commands. Verdict : utter trash. So I’ll ask again: why turn my phone into a glorified remote via this app?

App doesn’t recognize a Canadian postal code. So the app doesn’t recognize a Canadian postal code when you want to create your profile and I was never able to get the wifi to connect to the robot.

Baby shark. I love this little powerhouse. It does a fabulous job and I’m always surprised at how much it picks up. The app however could use a lot of improvement.

Good luck. You really need to improve on the wifi connectivity. Next vacuum won’t be a shark after this experience

App issue. Keep getting “user not found” when trying to login to the app.

Good. Its brushes tend to tangle on rugs that have any fluff but it loves to clean

Better than expected. I’ve been using my Shark for about 6 weeks now and I’m amazed at how well it works. It does both washing and vacuuming better than I expected. The only thing I wish you could do is multi floor programming as well as multiple home programming. Also it would be nice if the floor plan could let you know which rooms are complete (like maybe turning it from blue to green when the room is finished).

Do Not Buy Shark. I’m very disappointed with my purchase. I have a vacmop and it is the most stupid thing on earth! The shark support is even worse. They are never responsible. There’s no way of communicating with them and even after so much struggle when you find a phone number to call they are very unfavorable. Shark robots are the worst. DO NOT BUY SHARK ROBOTS.

Maps. Any chance we can get multiple floors for maps? Otherwise 5 out of 5.

Unable to sign in. It just keeps saying, something went wrong

Love it BUT. I love my shark matrix BUT when they had to send the new one cause something happened with the auto update it didn’t come with the “no go zone” strips. Super bummed about that

The best thing in the world. This is absolutely a life saver

Shark robot vacuum. Couldn’t be happier! Great job with this project!

Nice. This robot is very good and the app works fine as well

Dangerous and unreliable garbage. Worthless garbage keeps turning on in the middle of the night when it is not set to. Would never recommend to anyone.

Mixed Review. It’s work great I did not like that their customer services and charge for shipping for needed parts within warranty period

Just got my shark. I just got my Shark and I have been very excited to get it, and finally get help on cleaning tasks that I don’t have much time to do. First point, and the main struggle here, is that I bought this robot from Amazon here in Mexico, however the app is not available on App Store in Mexico, which was awful to figure out how to get it installed, afterwards setting up the robot, Mexico is not listed either, which I don’t see much as a problem, but not sure how I’ll be able to register the product. It would be great if you could expand the market of your products, or if you are going to sell products in Mexico, at least make sure that the app can be available in the country too, otherwise the product gets useless. After changing the country of my Apple ID, I was able to download the app, but it will be a struggle to keep moving back and forth. I finally configured my robot and now waiting for the 6 hours of initial charge to complete, looking forward to try it.

Worst app. Scheduling interface does not work.. Scheduling keep defaulting to the current time and won’t let me change to a time I want. The rotary number buttons on the interface keeps changing back to the current time.

Robotique. Le seul bémol le robot n’a pas su détecter les marches à quelques reprises. Y a-t-il quelques choses à faire afin que ça n’arrive plus ? Merci

Annoying bug. Please if the annoying bug the won’t dismiss the “my brush roll is stuck” even after the issue has been resolved and the vacuum is working normally.

Robot balayeuse. Super facile et en français . Bravo très bien nettoyé et facile pour cibler des zones.

Highly disappointing. You need to light your home up like a runway for it to make a map that needs to be deleted because it never sees the entire place anyways. Forget trying to use it on more than one level of your house because if you take the robot somewhere it will wipe the map if you do a manual cleaning. There’s no where to seek help on the app and it forever needs to be signed into. Wish I would have bought a roomba.

Awesome. Great product. Love it. Makes life so much easier

0 for 2. Bought one had it replaced within two months. Both had errors too close to a cliff. No cliff near and no repair except offer to replace at a cost again

Shark. So far so good.. love it!

App issues Annoying. Robot keeps disconnecting from wifi which is rather annoying when you cant control it. It still cleans on schedule but I can no longer spot clean.

Postal code. Please fix the issue with Canadian postal code because it says not valid address when I try to register the product. I think I Can’t connect to wifi for this reason

Cleaning. Shark does a good job cleaning, just wish it was quieter

Scheduling needs improvement. I’d love to be able to select which rooms to clean when using the scheduling feature.

After new update map is not showing up. After installing the update a few weeks ago I have no map.please fix this.Update!Maps are working most of the time but still some intermittent issues

Wet mop. Worst robot vacuum I’ve ever owned. Mapping is horrendous. Vacuum loses info a lot. Won’t clean areas you want. Doesn’t pick material up very well off hard wood floor. Worst decision I ever made

The best company ever. Shark is one of the best companies i have dealed with they r so helpful so easy to set up and also so easy to deal with it and if u have any problems shark is always there to help and they always find a way to fix ur problem

I like the product, I like the app 😁. I like the product, I like the app 😁

Love the Shark robot but App got worse.. It’s replacing an original Roomba. It’s a little quieter, more gentle with walls, has a schedule, returns to its dock every single time, and auto empties into a larger bagless container. I still can’t believe that I get dirt every day. Set up was pretty easy. Bumped into an issue with wifi (do I connect to the robot wifi or to my home wifi first?). Deleted the robot, reinstalled it and everything was perfect. It was able to map my small home the first time but I ran it several times to make sure. Really like the map with the no go zones, labels, etc. It does have an odd sound. Not loud but reminds me of a mini tank. That sound is subjective though. Overall, love the robot. The App was great but it got worse with an update. The “do not enter” zones that I set up and can see don’t work.

Better then I expected.. I was kind of worried on the mapping of our house. We have a closed concept with each room having unique floor plans (different angles). The first time on mapping surprised me on how accurate. I have been adjusting the rooms in the mapping to make it work like I want it too. Pretty easy and doing some trial and error until I get it perfect. The only thing I wished I could do is angle some of the walls to better match the layout. Not only do we have 90 degree walls but some are 45 degrees. But still manageable and probably with in the next few runs with adjustments, I’ll have it perfect. Maybe in a future release of software, I’ll be able to angle walls when mapping like I can with the no-go zones. Thus far a great purchase.

Baby Shark. We like how it gets fine dust particles but sometimes it leaves a little bit behind. I love how it empties itself, big plus! If I could create the perfect one, it would get into small spaces like beside the toilet. Instead it kicks the dust in to the back behind there. So I do have to clean that area in great detail afterwards. I do love the vacuum marks and how it pulls up the pile on the carpet to make it look fresh, and you can have that every day without having to do it yourself with a big heavy vacuum cleaner. It also does a great job getting all of the area on matrix clean setting. I don’t utilize the mop feature very often but it does a pretty good job on our luxury vinyl floors. And I only use hot water in my cleaner and it still does good. It does a great job mapping the house to set it up. Overall I’m pleased with it!

Shark vacuums make keeping our floors clean so easy!. We have a Labrador Retriever who sheds constantly and year-round. We have two Shark Matrix robot vacuums and find they help SO much with controlling the fur and dander! They adapt for hard wood floors, carpet and area rugs. And the self emptying feature is a game-changer! This is a four-star review (rather than a five-star) because the Shark vac is continually getting stuck on the leg of one table and has to be freed regularly. Also, the motor noise is loud. We used to have a Eufy robot vacuum and it was much quieter. so there is some room for improvement there. Overall, the Shark robot vacuum is wonderful. It makes keeping our floors clean a breeze and the self-mapping feature and ability to focus on one area or room is nice. It is also great to be able to control the functionality in the Shark Clean App from anywhere!

Lacks basic features.. The vacuum itself does well but the app lacks some basic features. We have another robot vacuum that’s cheaper and their app is much better. 1. No ability to set multiple times to clean. This app limits you to one time a day for your robot vacuum to run. The cheaper brands app allows you to set as many times a day as you’d like. 2. No clue where my vacuum is actually at. You can only have a lackluster audio signal played to locate vacuum. Cheaper brand actually shows you on the map where the vacuum is and the path it has taken to clean the floor. 3. You can only do ultra clean on a single room at a time and not on your whole floor plan. This seems like a basic feature that should be available. Also most of the time doing this causes the vacuum to leave the dock and spin around for 10-20 seconds and then go back to dock and not actually clean anything. This seems like a bug that has been discussed for over a year on the forums. 4. When mapping you are limited to a straight line to cut rooms apart. Cheaper brand lets you make Angled lines. 5. No updates that produce any new features in the 4 months I’ve had the vacuum. This seems like a major miss for the amount of robot vacuums Shark has available and the amount that they sell. Feels like they don’t have any active Dev teams on this app and aren’t investing into it.

A little clunky but not bad. please make the app iPad compatible. The app isn’t super clear about a few things: - I asked the robot to “matrix clean” a specific room. It went and started cleaning the rest of the house. I’m assuming this was because it hadn’t finished the house prior to docking to charge. It was only charged to 40% when I told it to move. A message indicating this would have been nice. - I’d like more information on what the robot is doing. Did it finish? Did it run out of charge? How many times has it dumped its load? Etc. I like data. - I can’t see how to modify the floor plan. It mapped the house and was about 90% accurate. It missed a few areas because of something being in its way. It would be nice to be able to edit the map vs deleting and starting fresh. - estimated battery capacity would be nice. I’d like to know if I set it to matrix clean more than one room, will it finish before the wife gets home or will it require a recharge midway? This would be handy for planning. - please make an app formatted for the iPad. I use my iPhone for mostly communication. I like my iPad for everything else. Simply expanding the screens to fit would help. Seeing the iPhone view on the iPad is sad.

Love our Sharks but the App now has problems!!. We have 2 Sharks, Mako upstairs and Angel on the first floor. Up until last week we were 100% satisfied, but since the most recent firmware upgrade to the app, we now cannot have noth of our Sharks in the App. I noticed that only one of the Sharks was listed, thought it odd so I added back the other, when I did that, it knocked the first one off. I removed the app, redos loaded and tried again and again to have it work as before, where both can be controlled in the app, by each time it bumps the previous one off. The map comes right back, but it's a pain to keep adding each one when I need both on at the same time. Please fix this, reach out to me Shark and please get this bug resolved. Not happy with this new firmware!

Terrible!. I have had my Shark IQ for over a month and have had nothing but trouble with the app and vac. It will not stay connected, will no longer run schedules and customer service was completely unhelpful. It worked well when I first got it. Was easy to connect, ran on schedule and mapped my home quickly. Then suddenly it just stopped performing like it’s supposed to. It will run if I manually turn it on but I can’t control it with the app at all. It hasn’t run on schedule in over a week. Customer service passed me all around on the phone then had the next level contact me. That took several days. They had me leave the vac on the dock for 24 hrs to updates the software. It ran great for a couple days then dropped all info again. When I called back they said it’s AT&T’s fault so I had them come out and check my internet. No problems there. I am sick of dealing with this. I bought it for convenience and it has been anything but. I should have gotten another iRobot. I may take this back and do just that. So disappointed!!

Love it. Just like everyone else who has a busy schedule, finding ways to streamline chores is a blessing. I set my Shark, which I named “Alice”, to clean my home when I’m not there. I love coming home and the floors are clean—-one less thing I have to cram into my schedule. It took two trials for Alice to figure out the floor plan. I expected a few trial runs but she quickly figured it out. I also like the way she maneuvers from wood floors to tile floors. She moves over the seam binders with ease. I have a large executive desk in one room and she vacuums around the desk. There are ceramic vases around the house and she vacuums up to the vases and stops short of running into them. She moves from wood floor to an area rug with ease. Then to top it all off, the fact the dust bin is emptied into a filtered container makes it so easy to discard the debris.

The app broke. I've had this vacuum for over a year and it works amazingly I love it! However sadly this morning I woke up and the app said I had to confirm my account and email. I tried to just sign in and it wouldn't let me. So I followed all the prompts and now it says I don't have a vacuum registered and that it can't connect to it via internet. The vacuum has never had any issues before and I've tried everything in the help guides. The app still will not recognize my vacuum no matter what I try to troubleshoot. Very frustrating and it's the only vacuum I own because it does great. I have pets and now there is fur everywhere and I'm borrowing someone else's vacuum. Someone please fix this application cause it kicked me out and now says my vacuum has a problem. I have an account and I'm very upset that it says it doesn't remember me.

App not working correctly. The robot is connected but the app is not showing the battery status or updating when the robot is on the dock. It constantly acts as though the robot is cleaning when it’s sitting on the dock and charging. After I manually made it clean for about 2 hours, it went back to the dock and the app is telling me it’s at 100% which is not correct. I’m not the only one having this issue. This is also happening to my mother who lives in a different house. App needs to be thoroughly checked for bugs. It’s pretty defective. This is also with a brand new vacuum. I bought the new one after my last Shark IQ stopped cleaning specific rooms when I would tell it to. I thought this was because it was old, but now I’m reading it could’ve been from the new update from back in August that caused issues like this. With my new AI ultra robot, the “no-go zones” do not work at all. It also does not avoid objects at all. It just runs over anything on the floor like the old one. Not much better.

Works great, could use manual controls. This shark unit works gels great. It’s pretty smart, doesn’t get stuck easily, does a good job, can auto empty itself and continue, can even recharge and continue I believe! We are very happy with it! The only improvement would be a function that some cheaper bots have. Manual control override. IE, my kid let it into a room or area it shouldn’t be “this time” cause the floor is not clean enough, I don’t want to screw up the house map by picking it up and placing it outside the room (confusing it), and I have to creat feet walls around it until it finally stumbles out of the room. Please update the app with manual controls. Or learn from this at minimum. This is an excellent product! Kids just complicate it slightly. Lol

Cleans, but map is a joke. So the app makes a map of your place so that you can label rooms and specify which to clean. Well, it does make a map, and you can label the rooms and select which ones to clean. But it always cleans the room where it’s based, then rooms it chooses, not necessarily the ones you chose. It also ignores room boundaries that you set up on the map. The bottom line is that although a lot of software was written to support the map function, the vacuum function isn’t well integrated with the map it makes. My personal bottom line is that it’s nearly impossible to clean only the dirty places. Right now, I’ve asked it to clean the my place in the hope it will get to the right places. In addition, if I don’t use my vacuum for a couple of weeks, it forgets the map. As an enhancement, I’d like to see a picture of where the vacuum is on the map

Loved this app until last update!!. The app was last updated two weeks ago to version 2.2.6, which is EXACTLY when our robot stopped syncing with the app and completely lost wi-fi connectivity. I’m pretty tech savvy, and had no issues connecting and setting everything up when we purchased the robot in January. It had been running perfectly for the last 4 months, up until two weeks ago when the app was updated. I’ve tried to reconnect to wi-fi and it won’t work, which basically makes the robot useless to me. I paid extra for this model because I wanted the wi-fi capability and scheduled cleanings. It no longer runs on its schedule, and if I want it to run at all, I have to manually press the clean button on the robot. Please fix this app! I will gladly change my rating to 5 stars if it starts working correctly again.

Shark vs Roomba. I had a Roomba since 2013 and I was extremely happy with it. I was nervous about switching to the Shark but I just couldn’t resist when I found one for $300 with the self emptying bin. I had a problem with the roller making a clunking noise in the beginning. I called customer support and they sent me a new roller and the problem went away. They were easy to work with and provided great support. The App is great and created a diagram of my house in the very first try. I have a dog so I run my vacuum frequently to prevent pet hair build up. I also love that the self emptying bin didn’t require the bags like the Roomba. Less maintenance expenses. I also prefer the boundary strips that Shark uses over the wall barrier so you can put down strips and move them easily

Great vacuum, buggy software. Love the vacuum/cat babysitter. Absolutely love it and don’t want a life without it. On the iOS software side, it works, but has one infuriating bug: old notifications come back like grumpy ghosts. I delete them, close the app. Next time I open it, there they are again, as if I need to be reminded for the Nth time that the sensors needed cleaning once last week and it got stuck under the couch again on Sunday. By the way, you should know the sensors needed cleaning once last week and it got stuck under the couch again on Sunday. Also, the sensors needed cleaning once last week and it got stuck under the couch again on Sunday. Alert! The sensors needed cleaning once last week and it got stuck under the couch again on Sunday. New Notifications! The sensors needed cleaning once last week and it got stuck under the couch again on Sunday. Please fix notifications. Please.

The Shark rises to the top!. I have had a couple different Robo Vacuums. First was the eufy brand and it did a great job but the ping pong style left areas undone and with our dog and cats wanted something a bit better. We then purchased on a sale an iRobot. I wish I had done the one with the bin so we didn’t have to empty every day. The iRobot did a great job tracking the rooms and really did a nice job. We have one rug in our living room that the iRobot could not get up on. The pile of the carpet was too thick so it would maneuver around and I just manually vacuumed that rug when needed. For Christmas this year I received the Shark with the dump bin and all things are perfect! I love being able to zone clean through the app. Excellent cleaning and yes, it can even climb up onto the rug. The Shark has exceeded expectations and has shown to be better over the iRobot and Eufy brands!

Great so far! Used for two months now.. We have to use the iRobot for two months now, and have found it to be a great way to clean in between deeper cleans with a regular vacuum of which we have both a Dyson and a shark, regular vacuum and the shark regular vacuum is a preference for us. We found that mapping rooms at night is not the best idea as it uses a camera versus a laser to map the rooms but we don’t see that as a problem. You may need lights if you’re going to clean at night, but have not really tested at much for that seems to empty itself well and I’ve looked on the other side of the brushes where we have some longer carpet and quite a bit of hardwood floor and it seems to transition between even the thicker carpet pretty well. We will update if there’s any changes to your opinion overtime.

Great invention. I have a 9 yr old Dutch Shepherd who leaves large balls of hair behind all day long, every day. Sweeping was absorbing a lot of our time—it had to be done several times daily—and not all areas of the house. With the Shark IQ I have time for other things while the robot picks up the hair in the entire house(high traffic areas AND under tables, dressers, etc). It takes a little while but I don’t mind it at all. The dog did fine with the robot. We do not have carpet so I think this makes the vacuuming more efficient. Only drawback only if you are very picky is that I have to keep floor free of dog toys and try not to move furniture too much as the robot created a map of the house and it follows it each time, so if something is rearranged, the robot gets disoriented and it takes longer.

Issues with mapping. I have figured out the mapping no thanks to customer service so I’m not going to shoot down the machine for poor training. I’ve had the Shark IQ for two weeks and been trying to get the ENTIRE house mapped. Missing one room each time due to battery won’t last through 2,200 sq ft. It is rated for 1500sq ft on one charge. Nonetheless you need to have your “recharge and finish the job” feature on in order for it to complete the map. After you do that, you can turn off the feature if you’re doing what I am. Only certain high traffic areas during the week (1000sq ft) and in bedrooms and bathrooms (1200 sq ft) on weekends to get dust or lint up. Works great on tile floors and area rugs...that’s all I have in my home. Plenty of obstacles...hasn’t gotten stuck on one yet.

RV2000WD. I bought the Shark VacMop less than a month ago, after the Black Friday sale. It vacuums great, but when I try to get it to mop we have problems. I am sure you have heard MANY people complain about it. I have read a plethora of posts, comments, and reviews to know that you know there is a problem with the product. After much research, I have found the problem, but I need YOU to find the solution. The problem is that the Velcro pad becomes heavy when soaked. The vacuum thinks something is stuck under it and tries to get itself unstuck by goin back and forth in circles. The solution is simple, make a lighter Velcro mop pad. Ship these out to the customers who have purchased this defective product free of charge, because it’s the right thing to do. We should have to pause the machine every time the pad becomes too soaked and swap it for a drier one. I didn’t purchase this machine to sit here and watch it mop my floors just to make sure it doesn’t become “stuck”.

Big Improvement. Originally I hated almost thru the whole thing into the garbage. It would take a long time to map out the house and the it would allow you to create rooms. Well the mapping you would do got lost and then I had to do everything again. It would start clearing where it want even if you tell it ( when the map was available that is ) to do a specific room only. I called and complain and I guess the right person heard my complaint. Because NOW IT ALL WORKS AS EXPECTED!!! Thank you !!!! Good thing I gave it a second chance after a while and did not throw the whole thing to the garbage. It is NOW my favorite house appliance and fully recommend the vacuum

Buyer Beware - Customer service is atrocious. I just got a new Shark Ion robot vacuum and could not have been more excited. I was especially interested in using the app. Unfortunately something is wrong with my account, which is the same account I used for my purchase. These things happen, but the issue that I have is that the customer service has been beyond terrible. I have made at least 5 phone calls, traded many many emails and they keep suggesting the same thing that doesn’t work and they can’t seem to get it together to have someone more senior help me. I have asked numerous times to speak to a manager, supervisor, specialist or anyone that could possibly help to no avail. After making such a large investment in a vacuum it is so disappointing to have it ruined by such poor customer service. BUYER BEWARE ... if things don’t go smoothly, good luck getting them fixed. I have an RMA already but I am very hopeful that something magical happens and they can fix my problem. No complaints about the unit itself so far - operating manually.

Update & Lose. Anytime the app updates it deletes the “History”, “Map” and “Schedule” settings for the robot. At first I thought I was doing something wrong but upon reviewing the update dates I figured out that the developer of the app must be wiping data and not realizing that in some versions they are wiping the critical information to allow the device to do what it is supposed to do. Disappointed as this caused for multiple headaches in trying to figure out a product that was supposed to save time. Great idea medium execution as the vacuum does well once it has a map but after it has been constantly deleted it takes forever to reset the map causing for the vacuum to get stuck or constantly have to recharge since it is using more power and time to figure out the layout of our house. Additionally the edging and corners of your home will still need to be vacuumed and that is where most dust and dirt collects. Hopefully they figure out why their updates keep deleting their maps and other critical information.

Sir Sweep- A-Lot. Hi All!!!! Our little helper is great for in between deep cleans! We have 4 cats and a dog in our home. We are able to to have him sweep a single area or the entire home while we are at work! The phone set up is easy and the sweeper scans your home and you are then able to label each room if you’d prefer and key in on high traffic spots!!!! When he is low on battery he will go back and recharge then start where he left off. Also if his bend gets too full of debris he will venture back to have the home base suction what he has picked up. Our next purchase will be a wet vacuum. ( we started with a vacuum that we had to self empty but I can say it’s worth the extra money to purchase the home mount with trash bin)!!! Hope this is helpful!!! A Blincoe

Poor At Best with Tech Glitches. Let’s face it, tech glitches always happen so apps need built in features to back up, stop WiFi running, quick restart, etc. Not this one! After it fails and fails to connect to the app so you can program and map your floor to operate and use the Shark Vac n Mop there’s zero back out to back up or out of this app to try again. Even turning off your phone doesn’t work. In between every fail, it’s shut off the Shark, reboot the router AND delete and download again the Shark App. And it’s been 3.5 hours of this, a call to my Internet provider to find out I need to separate my Internet speeds 2.4 and 5.0 and label as such for this poor little finicky vac, talked to Shark Support for 3 hrs who gave it his all and even he was perplexed. I could have cleaned my entire house and cooked dinner for 12 by now. My Shark is still not connected and my floors aren’t clean. Geez what a pita!

Shark ion robot. LOVE IT! it seems to pick up very well. The shark ion vacuum cleans a lot of areas that I can’t get with the regular vacuum. All you have to do is push a button and then you can start your other chores for the day. It’s awesome 🙂 It sometimes randomly makes a squeaking noise I don’t know what’s going on there but it seems to be working fine. Wish I would’ve invested in one that cleaned itself out after vacuuming instead of me dumping it out after each cleaning. It would’ve also been nice if it would show a map of what it’s all cleaned. I don’t know if any vacuum does such a thing but they should have the vacuum map out the whole house then have a area on the app where you can put a red line where it’s not allowed to go. Our family has really enjoyed our new vacuum in the last three days that we have had it. 👍🏽👍🏽

Crap. This robot works for a while then it doesn’t. You follow all the troubleshooting methods and it shows up on your system but will not connect to your Wifi. You call for support having bought a lifetime warranty and paid the extra price, and you get no help. When someone does call you back you get one of two tactics. 1. They call and when you answer, they hang up and don’t call you back. You call them back and no one answers. 2. They tell you it’s your system even though it worked on your system before the last updated it. I have had the system for almost two years and for most of that time have had an issue with it. Basically if you bought this tool, you got screwed. The unit is only good to walk up, push the bottom and let it clean that way, it’s useless if you use it they way they tell you it works on tv where I got the idea to purchase it. I also know I am not the only customer with this issue, so find it hard to understand how it gets more than one star in other reviews. Rodolfo

LOVING IT! GIGHLY RECOMMEND!. I read a lot of reviews on the shark matrix with the self emptying dock station, mine works flawlessly! When you put it on matrix clean, it does it very deep clean, and I’ve been usually running it just on different quadrants of the house, but I did a couple of rooms with the matrix clean, and it vacuumed. Amazing! as far as the “noise”? It’s quieter than my vacuum, so there’s that. I highly recommend this product, it was at a great price, about half what a Roomba is, and I can’t rave about it enough. Could I vacuum it faster myself? Yes! But I suffer in chronic pain and the excessive movement of the vacuum back-and-forth really sets my lower back off, so I just run this. I can run it no matter where I am, just push a button while I’m away and it vacuum whatever I want. I highly recommend this product

Vacuum is great, app is garbage.. The shark vacuum itself is great. However, this review is for the app and it has A LOT of flaws. The biggest issue is the app freezes every time I try to look at the history page. I get a blank white screen and then I have to force close the app. The other thing that really irritates me is that I only get the option to clean certain rooms about half the time. The other half of the time I have to start the robot, call it back to the dock, wait for it to empty and then try starting a clean cycle again - hoping this time it lets me pick certain rooms instead of a whole house clean. And while on the topic of whole house cleaning, I don’t understand why the vacuum only recharges and resumes ONCE if it doesn’t finish the whole house. Not sure if that’s an app flaw or a vacuum flaw, but it should be addressed. The vacuum should recharge and resume as many times as are necessary for it to clean the entire square footage of the house it originally mapped. As much as I prefer the price point of a Shark over a Roomba, I think my next vacuum will be an IRobot.

The app doesn’t function properly. My biggest gripe with the all is the lack of fractures it advertises. It mapped my house once, then deleted the map. Everytime I enter the app I have to set up my vacuum like its brand new, except it only remembered what I named him. I told the app to remember my sign in, but every time it makes me sign back in to the app. Even when uninstalling the app and reinstalling, it does not fix any of these issues. The app send me notifications that there is an error with the robot, but he is working correctly. It sends me an error every time, the robot docks at the station, but he is working normally. The app advertises that you can map out the house until the robot which room to clean, this is just not true. I’ve had almost no issues using the app to control my vacuum for the most part once I set him back up everyday. Only that if I want it to use the maximum suction, I have to start it at medium then up it to max once it’s running. If I start it at max, it will stay at Medium. I do not recommend this app or product

Still buggy. We’ve had our shark robot for a few years now and though some features have been added they don’t actually work. For example the app should remember the power setting (eco, normal, max), and while the app accurately reflect the last power setting it doesn’t actually relay that to the robot, so to put it in max power you have to start cleaning, toggle from max to normal and then back to max and then you will hear it actually get louder from increased suction. The “find robot” button only produces a sound from the robot the 2nd time you select it. The first time it acts like it works but the robot doesn’t make any noise. There is no visual indication on the map of approximately where the robot is when the battery dies and it isn’t smart enough to use the camera as a light sensor to try to find an open area where it can be easily found when it has a low battery and can’t find the dock (which is often), so you have to constantly search the whole house for it and pull it out from under a bed or inside a closet. It doesn’t learn where cliffs are from the mapping, so it constantly gets stuck going over the same room transitions over and over again unless you leave an ugly roll of magnetic tape across your floor. There is no way to have it remap a single area, so if one room is wrong on the map you have to delete the entire map and try again.

It’s Great!. This Shark is so much more intuitive than my old Dyson. I had to set barrier sensors and remember to empty. This guy is not needy at all. I dump the base canister and wipe underneath the robot once a week and check filters. I love the scheduler. I can’t use it much because I have to move dog beds out of the way before running the Shark. Two things I wish it could do: first, show me where it’s been on the app, so I know I can put things back in that area. Sometimes it will return to the dock and say charging 70%. Then suddenly an hour later it will go back and finish the last corner in a bedroom. Second, indicate when the job is completed. I know there are different ring tones, but if it could say on the app job completed, that would be helpful.

Sharkbot. I have been wanting one of these since a coworker told me about hers. I love all shark products! There are so many robot vacuums out I wasn’t completely sure which one to go with. But I went with my gut and got the shark. I absolutely love it!!!! With two dogs I was vacuuming and sweeping daily to no avail. Having a baby on the way I wouldn’t have the time to do that daily. Now my sharkbot keeps my floors tidy for me. Shark is only one week old but so far so good. I followed the instructions and charged for 6 hours before first use. It will vacuum about 1 hour and then go back to the charger then once recharged it will go back to work. It is much more quite than my handheld vacuum so I don’t understand the negative report of it being loud. But everyone has their own opinion. If you are a shark lover like me don’t hesitate to order this robot. Hopefully you will love it too.

Always another problem. I keep having many of the same problems other reviewers have been having. My main one being the map and history feature don’t work like they used to. I called customer service a while back and they said they were aware of and fixing the issue so it would be resolved with the next update. Well, no such luck. It’s still happening. Also, when I hit the Start cleaning button on the app, it says the robot is cleaning but IT ISNT! I have to press the Start button on the robot for it to go. Also when I hit Dock on the app, once again it says the robot is going but in actuality it continues cleaning. My wifi is on and connected so I don’t know why this is happening. Many complaints about this product. I’m jealous of the folks who are having it work for them. I actually have two robots and have had problems with both. One ended up having a problem right out of the box that the customer service rep had never seen and required being sent a whole new product.

Shark Ion is AMAZING!!!. The performance of this robot vacuum is absolutely amazing. I can not believe the amount of fiber, dust, grass, dog hair, debris, glitter, dirt, little stones, etc this machine picks up! And I am no longer seeing dog hair here and there on the floor and dreading having to get the sweeper out because this sweet machine does the work for me! We have a large first floor with larger rooms and quite a bit of furniture .... the Shark Ion gently roams around and is getting in, around and under almost all of our furniture. We also have some steep sills that it usually is able to go over AND when the outside door was open it traveled along the edge of the sill and then back into the room, sensing not to drop out the door! I keep teasing that this is my new “best friend” because I am so impressed by its performance. I plan to run this vacuum every night while we are sleeping. I am pleased and very impressed with its this machine!

Great Robot. Glitchy App.. The Shark Clean robot really does an amazing job of cleaning. Prior to the first use, it’s wise to use a conventional, vacuum cleaner, pick up large debris, and the bulk of heavy soil in carpeted areas. But once that’s done, our experience has been that the robot is more than capable of maintaining clean floors. We’ve been very pleased, after more than a year of use! The Shark Clean app, however, is another story. Despite my best effort at keeping it updated, I have had to reset the robot to factory settings four times in the last year. In addition, the map has corrupted three separate times, and has had to be deleted and regenerated. Even the schedule function doesn’t seem to pull its weight. We have our robot set to clean every day but Saturday. And as I’m writing this, on a Saturday morning, the robot is vacuuming in front of me. So, while the robot is amazing, the app is not yet ready for prime time!

I have multiple levels, more map features please!. I’m not sure if shark even sees these or not, but I’ll give it a try! I really do like the app, if I had a true one story home I would be giving it 5 stars! I have an open concept 1970’s ranch home, with multiple “step up’s and down’s”. Think more like a sunken in living area and upper kitchen entryway area, along with the bedrooms and bathrooms on another level that is 4-5” above all the other sections! So if your counting, I have 3 sections on a one story home! Right now I move the Shark IQ home base to whatever section I want to clean, delete the old map, and start all new. So that’s why I’m asking for more map features! If I could get multiple maps, I could move the home base to the same location on whatever level I want to clean, and just pick the map that I want it to use...that’s my theory anyway?? Is this possible?!? I SURE HOPE SO!

The vacuum cleans well, but the map and app fail badly. This review is for the Shark app, not the vacuum itself. The vacuum does a great job on the rooms it decides to clean, but that is rarely the rooms you tell it to clean! I blame the app for this. Yes, we have always upgraded to the newest app (which doesn’t look at all like the map pictures above), and we’ve deleted the map and started from scratch several times (which is a real failure in how their app is designed). You tell it to go clean the living room, but instead it goes to the other side of the house to clean a hallway and office, then returns to its station claiming a job well done. You tell it again to vacuum the living room and it gets your hopes up by going straight to the living room, only to stop halfway through and going somewhere else. A call to customer support is just as good as their map functionality. They can’t figure out our issue so they escalate it to a ‘vacuum’. Two weeks later we get a call at 10pm asking if everything was resolved. ???!!! Maybe spend a little less on advertising and divert it to product development. The old adage that it is cheaper to keep a customer than gain a new one should apply here. There are plenty of competitors and they only need a better software development team to be better than Shark. Get it together guys!!

Horrible App - Will not Connect to wi-fi. My shark MODEL RV1101ARUS lost connection several months ago. I have tried repeatedly to get it to connect. Not one other thing in my home has any issues connecting to the wi-fi except this vacuum. I called shark last week and got a foreign location. I was on the phone with them for probably 45 minutes they promised me somebody from tech-support would call me back the next day. Nobody called. I’ve read every article and tried every hack possible to get it to connect. Nothing. This is typical customer service with sharp as I’ve read online. I would never recommend buying this vacuum because the app that goes with it to run it while you’re away from home does not work. And, you can’t get customer service help. It’s very inconvenient to have to run it and be here. The whole point is to use it while away from home too. I paid $350 for this vacuum and it isn’t worth anything to me now.

My favorite part is that it makes me constantly re-log back into the app. (Heavy sarcasm).. The app itself does the minimal. It kind of does what it’s supposed to do. It mops and vacuums your house. The majority of the other features though make this app extremely buggy. It does not follow the no go zones very well. The app logged me out and makes me log back in about 90% of the time that I open the app. For literally no reason it just logs me out and makes me log back in. Very inconvenient. Additionally, you can only map one floor in your house you cannot map to. This should be a basic feature. you should not have to buy another shark vacuum for the second or third floor of your house. it would be very easy for them to allow us to pause the vacuum bring it to a second floor and begin mapping that floor. I like the vacuum itself. I just don’t like the app or the inconvenience of having to re-login most of the time when I open the app again.

I love my Clean Latiffa!. I have a cattle dog who stays indoors. Needless to say there’s always hair. I own a cleaning business and use nothing but Sharks. I decided to purchase the robot to lessen the days of vacuuming the house. I cannot believe how well it works on hard surfaced floors! Not long after purchasing, the dog went into the winter blowout shed! It picked up so much hair I would have to dump the bin about every three days when it claims to go 60 days. I’m not very impressed with the carpet vacuuming, but really didn’t expect it to pick up the hair stuck in the carpet. You also save money by not having to purchase bags. Often times vacuuming dog hair will cause a vacuum to smell. After 2 months, no smell. I highly recommend this product, it will simplify your cleaning routine!

Feature additions could make this a GREAT product. I just got my Shark IQ XL yesterday and like it a lot! It mapped my house very well in only 3 sessions, and picked up more debris than I expected! The runtime is longer than expected (more than 90 mins) and it’s fairly quiet (Much quieter than a tradition vacuum). That said, I do have some App/Firmware update recommendations: Allow schedules cleaning of only certain rooms (my whole house doesn’t need to be cleaned each time! Would love to clean just the kitchen and laundry room daily and the rest of the house weekly) Add contextual granularity to the app when the robot is returning to dock. Right now I’m clueless as to what it’s doing - does it need to empty its dust bin? Is the battery low? Will it auto resume where it left off? Sell a stand-alone base station that the robot can use as an alternate (remote?) “dock location”. This would allow me to put a base station on each floor of my house and rotate the vacuum to multiple floors, while still allowing for intelligent mapping and as-need charging ect.

Shark App Without Bite. Within this app lie many inconsistencies. I am referring large in part to the day in/day out performance. Many features one would think are a given, are just simply missing. I LOVE the equipment - I hate the app. 90% of the time I open the app, my shark just takes off without my even haven given it a command. It’s like it has a mind of its own. And once it starts - good luck getting it to stop. My app is rendered useless while I try to cancel a cleaning. I have to physically walk over to the machine and hit “dock.” Sometimes multiple times. There’s no way to “add” a room once it’s cleaning. Good luck mapping a new (add on) room too! No way to schedule multiple cleaning schedules/times on the same day?? What the heck? I find this app extremely quirky. A plethora of “error” messages appear while the machine often makes up it mind to simply shut down. When I follow up on the error messages (dust bin, something underneath, etc.), there’s nothing to fix and/or correct. Again, I love the machine, but app developers need to put one of these Sharks in their home and feel our pain! This app operates and gives the feeling of old & tired! Please Shark, level up and show your competitors who’s boss!! Great potential but that’s about where it stops to me. Shark app is simply too inconsistent on a daily basis to make it “fan fave” for me!

App errors need fixing. We’ve used to the shark clean app with a robot purchased in 2018, without issue. However, since adding a new model we have not been able to get the app to understand our time zone. The robot continually starts at times that are not scheduled. Tech-support brought it up during a video phone support call indicating that they were trying to reset my time zone. It didn’t work-I’ve seen this issue on other review platforms and it’s definitely something that shark needs to fix, especially since it’s a known issue. It worked for six, seven months, possibly and now the time zones are all screwed up again. The app most recently follows the scheduled cleanings thinking it’s a full three days ahead of the schedule- and then I can turn off the schedule entirely and the robot will still run. I guess the big issue: SO many errors of new varieties each time the app is updated.

Life Changing!. I bought my first Shark robot in 2020 during the pandemic. It was absolutely necessary with everyone back home full time and spending more time in the outdoors. I loved it so much that I bought my second Shark robot in 2023 for the second level of my home. They are both valuable tools to help keep the dirt off the floors, resulting in less dust in the air and on the furniture too! Room for improvement… Shark, please improve the “no go” map feature. Super hard to set a small area, like where my pet’s food bowls are. I don’t need an 8’x8’ block for that. Second suggestion … Please create an easier to clean robot filter set up. I use a separate Shark floor vacuum to vacuum the robot filter. But the screen above it is hard to clean. Some areas are not reachable.

Almost. We have two full size shark vacuums and have really enjoyed them, so we thought a shark brand robo vacuum would be a good choice. While I don’t consider it to be a bad choice, I will say that I am disappointed in the feature set, I.E. the app. The app is lacking in features that significantly cheaper robo vacuums have, such as multi schedule and schedule per room. It is also frustrating to find that the “matrix clean” feature only works when you clean a single room, and therefore is not available to schedule. A feature I think would be useful but would not consider to be “missing” would be allowing you to create an explore zone. At this time, if you rearrange furniture, the robot does not update its map. In order to update the map (and in order to get the vacuum to clean areas that maybe it can now access that it couldn’t when it first made the map) you must delete the whole map and have it run a complete explore. Allowing users to define an area for re-exploration would be very nice. Apart from missing features, the vacuum itself works very well. Within its mapping limitations it is by far the best I have used. Being able to literally drive around and “look” as opposed to having to bump along the entire outline to draw a map is fantastic. If Shark can update the app features to match what I believe to be industry standard then we have a winner.

Every time this updates, it changes time zone and only does 30% of the map. Every time you guys release an update, it changes the time zone of my robot - on your end - and starts 2 hours early. The only way to fix it is to call in. So every time there’s an update, I have to call you. On top of that, it will only complete about 30-40% of the areas it’s supposed to vacuum. This happened with the last two updates. The only fix is to delete EVERYTHING (including the app), and start from scratch. And that’s only after I call you to fix the time zone. For the amount I spent on this ($799), you’d think updates would make things better, not worse!!! On top of all of that, your reps NEVER CALLED ME TO FIX THE ISSUE!!!! So it is still unresolved, and because I actually work for a living, I can’t try to speak with you for another 6 days. Horrible!!!! Update: IT’S STILL DOING THE SAME THING!!!! This is sooo annoying!!! I have to waste hours with support every single time. I’ll be changing Robot to another company. This is unbelievable.

Nothing But Problems Since The Update. It was great before and my robot AI vaccuum cleans; however, it no longer communicates work the app. The app says that it’s working, but it doesn’t work via the app. Cleaning history was messed up too as it did now show what I had witnessed it cleaning. I am now scheduled for a support call early tomorrow since I work evenings. Yay me to have to wake up early to troubleshoot the problem, which is obviously the app update. And yes, I turned everything off and back on multiple times. I removed and reinstalled the robot on the app. I deleted and reinstalled the app on my phone. It’s disappointing that a very expensive birthday gift to me (which is now conveniently OUT of the 1 year warranty) is choosing now to give me problems. I hope Shark gets it together or back to Costco this goes and Roomba here I come. I can get multiple Roombas for the refund this Shark AI vacuum will give me. Granted it won’t have all the bells and whistles, but maybe that the problem with the app developers not being able to work with.

Great little bot !. I purchased the Shark thinking it would be “ok” for my needs. I was planning on having to pull it out of the countless obstacles it would encounter. Amazing as it seems, the Shark was able to negotiate every obstacle in my home. My son, like most kids, thinks the floor is a great place to drop his clothes. I thought for sure the Shark would get snagged by them. The Shark sensed the obstacles and avoided them. Of course, the clothes were picked up but my point is the Shark can go up to, or around, or over just about anything. This little bot is very good at its job...cleaning. I have a Shark full size vacuum and it’s now been playing “second fiddle” to the Shark bot. I make sure to empty the dust bin after each run. What amazes me is how much dirt and dust it picks up. I highly recommend the Shark bot. It will move around your home without getting confused by the geography. Excellent at cleaning and quiet to ! Get it !
