Slow and doesn’t work. This app doesn’t work well at all! The old app allowed me to print clear, bright pictures in a collage. This app won’t even let me scroll through my pictures to add them to a collage quickly - each scroll for the next set of images takes nearly a minute. Resizing or rotating the images in the collage nearly impossible, and the print quality is awful - pictures print dark, distorted, and/or blurry. I had hoped an app specific to the printer would be an improvement over the old app, but it is most certainly not.

Polaroid zip printer. Outstanding piece of equipment for a quick print of a photo if you’re on your phone excellent piece of equipment size and price recommend for all have many photos on your phone devices thank you Polaroid you’ve been around for many decades growing up my dad had a Polaroid camera and I remember those beautiful days back in the 1960s so thank you Polaroid for making such a great product keep up the good work and keep us informed with your latest products amazing company

App Crashes when trying to update firmware. Only have 1 issue with this app and that is the firmware update in settings. Everything else about the app is easy to use and understand. I haven't used my zip in a few years. When I open the App I get a message to update firmware. If I click yes, the app crashes and force quits. Also does this when going to settings within app to update firmware. I can still use the app to print with the old firmware but why make new firmware if you can’t install it.

Help needed ASAP. Update: I called Polaroid customer service and they were helpful. I updated my iOS, then deleted this app, and reinstalled it. The firmware update worked fine and my printer is working again. I will change my rating. I need to be able to use this again. When I try, I’m told I need to update the firmware which will take 20 minutes. I don’t need the feature it’s promoting, but I can’t get past it- so fine. I hit update. It sat at 100% without finishing for over an hour. Finally I closed it out and reopened it. I was back to the beginning- need to update firmware. So I did it again. It sat at 100% for over an hour again, never finished. Finally I just deleted the app and reinstalled it. Today I tried again to print and guess what? Need to update firmware. I either need to be able to use my printer, or I need a refund for it. I loved it up to this point, now it’s useless.

[edited] Print from PC. :p. While I wait for update to this app. I’ll let u know that u can print from ur PC. I print from my MacBook. Pair the printer. Then u can send photos to device. Edit your photo so it’s not exactly 3:2. A bit wider. It crops it automatically, I think from both sides. Make sure it doesnt crop your head off. I’ll edit this review with better instructions. App is barely ok. Idk. I want to love it, but the app is annoying to use and pictures come out dark/ warm. Thanks for the response! Message to devs. Although I don’t think it’s a deal breaker personally because it is just a fun portable printer for personal use. But, photos come out with a yellow tint. Even black and white photos have this tint. Is the tint a software thing or a hardware issue? I hear other similar printer have similar issue but colors come out a little more true.

Need helppp. My polaroid ZIP printer doesn't print photos. I've had it for a year, but I've not used it much since it's always been kind of hard to use. I have tried the Polaroid ZIP app. I can connect to my printer, choose photo and send to printer, but that's where it stops. I've tried countless times, but every time it is about to print, the light turns off and the printer just shuts down. This is extremely annoying, as I don't have the receipt so I can't get my money back - So, is there any way to fix this? I love the idea of this thing, so I really want to find a way to use it.

It’s awesome but... It’s works wonderfully, the portability of the zip is amazing but the colors are sometimes off and it has put a couple black spots on more of my pictures than I care to admit, which I mostly use this to print off portraits when a big black spot or smudged colors are less than ideal. Nonetheless this is some pretty cool tech and the fact it fits in your pocket is very cool 4 stars for portability and ease of using the software.

This app makes my Zip Printer useless. I just got a zip printer for my birthday, I was very excited as I wanted to do a mini scrap book of family memories that have long been trapped in my phone. Well, much to my disappointment it stopped working after one day, and I’m guessing it’s the apps fault since suddenly it makes even pictures I previously printed no problem completely blurry, I tried printing anyway hoping it was just my phone showing it incorrectly, no such luck, printed an unrecognizable photo. So frustrating. I’ve done everything from checking my phone for an updated iOS to deleting the app and re-downloading, nothing works.

I like it!. I had stopped using this printer last summer a couple months after buying it because they totally changed the entire app and I just hated the way the prints where coming out. Well I picked it back up a couple days ago. There was an app update. I was like here we go again an entire new app. To my surprise I like it. I love the edit settings. My pictures are a tad bit brighter with a little manipulation. I wish there was an explanation of each of the settings in the app and unfortunately I can’t use the collage setting because every time I go into it and start choosing photos the app shuts off, oh well. I just make my collages with a different app then print the entire photo with the printer, I know a shame I have to do all that but I’m not big on a lot of unnecessary complaining. Overall the app is nice, it could really be great with a little attention and fine tuning well here’s to wishing. Thanks for the changes I look forward to even greater future changes. I’m gonna hang in there, keep up the good work guys.

Great app!. I got the Polaroid zip for my birthday and the app is great! I also have another Polaroid camera (Polaroid snap) you can buy film with boarders for that but this one it will print them! I love that you can edit the photos on the app. And you can put text on the photo forget the stress of the pens not writing on the shiny photo paper you can do it in all the fancy colors and fonts!

Not working anymore. I haven’t used my printer in a while but I recently wanted to print some pictures out and saw the new updated version of the app. Went to print the pics and nothing would come out. All I got was “Preparing for printing”, my printer would make a noise then it would take me back to “My Gallery” with not photos printed. Tried deleting and getting the app again, resetting the printer, etc. and nothing happened. I’m not sure if there is a glitch with the new version of the app or what’s going on but the old version of the app worked just fine.

Help!. I can not get the pics to go into a collage! The first one works but when you go back to pick out another one the whole program shuts down! I used to have no trouble with this print with the old app but now it’s very frustrating and I can’t find any way to contact tech. Support! Update: I have been waiting for someone to contact me about my situation and that has not happened. I’m not able to use my printer and I’m now even more frustrated! I’m falling behind in my printing and feel like it was a major mistake to purchase this printer. Please prove me wrong and do something!!! Tamara

Love my zip!. Updating my review!! I am SO excited! I wrote before that I had used it for 6 months and absolutely loved it but all the sudden it would not update after trying 5+ times. Not sure what happened but today I summoned the courage to try again and it worked immediately!! No clue why, but I am not complaining! So that said, it’s the most reasonably priced portable printer and I think most of the negative reviews on here are forgetting that. The app is basic, but it works perfectly fine and gets the job done. I think the colors are great, the pictures are clear and print fast, and I love that they are peel and stick. It’s obviously not going to give you magazine quality photos, but that’s not what it was designed for. I find it perfect for daily journaling and it’s so much more convenient than rushing out to Walgreens every time you need a picture. 10/10 would recommend!

Waste of time and money. App is completely terrible. I keep trying to print pictures and I’ve taken every measure- deleted the app and redownloaded it, restarted my phone, switched WiFi networks and even used a different phone! This stupid app won’t even print my pictures even though it says it’s connected in the app and in the Bluetooth settings on my phone but NOTHING!!!!! Ever single time it says preparing to print and then it just goes back to my camera roll screen. What can I do? I’m beyond fed up and am disappointed that I’ve wasted all my money on this printer and the sheets for it.

More themed borders please!!!. I love the polaroid zip, I haven’t had a problem with it since it came out. Not even through the app which I love that it has been updated from the very first one. I really wish there were more themed borders like avengers or disney etc to make kid photos much cuter, or allow us to create themed borders. The Disney Memories app isn’t available in the U.S. and they had cute themed borders. Either way I love using the zip app!

So bad. When I first got this little printer a year or so ago, it was excellent. The app was clunky, but it worked. A year later, with updated phone and updated app, nothing works. The app shows a progress bar, as if the picture was really being sent to the printer, but once the progress bar is done, the printer just shuts off. Without printing anything. This was pretty awful even a few months ago, but I managed to print after a bunch of turning things off and on again, and endlessly reconnecting. But now, zilch. Hey guys, your printing app doesn’t work! For the only printer it’s supposed to work with! It doesn’t do the ONLY thing it should do! I’m frustrated and terribly disappointed.

The Bluetooth is Janky. I when this works, I absolutely love it! Be sure not to rush the Bluetooth connection, it will pick up the Polaroid Zip, but it may take a moment or two. Fantastic gadget that has changed my photo library of memories from digital into beautiful reminders around my house of wonderful moments I was lucky to capture. Can’t recommend enough!!

Works fine!. I’m not really sure what everyone else is complaining about, I just got a zip printer and both the app and printer work fine for me. I’ve only printed out a couple photos so far, but I haven’t had any issues. There is a little learning curve when it comes to positioning the photo for it to print exactly how you want but that’s about it. The photos come out very nice, and make for great little memories. I also have the instax mini 9, and this little printer is great for any time I don’t wanna carry my camera around.

Horrid frustration. This is THE WORST instant print application especially if you are trying to use the collage feature. It crashes consistently when one tries to add a second photo. You will NEVER get to adding a third or fourth. In addition, when the app pulls in the photos from your library they routinely, though not always, lose a good 49% of their resolution along with color and light balance. When the app first came out the color and resolution were “acceptable” but the collage feature was brilliant. Now there is no redeeming value to this app - or the printer. The lack of any kind of manual to troubleshoot this is another negative of note.

bluetooth trouble. I was excited when i had gotten the printer and the app but when i followed to instructions that came with the printer, the app was refusing to work. When i tried to print a picture, my device wasn’t showing up in the app and said my printers bluetooth wasn’t on but i followed the instructions to turn it on. No matter how many times i tried to connect my phone to the printer it wouldn’t work because the app wouldn’t connect them and when i clicked on the options for what to print from for bluetooth there were none.

Terrible.. I spent good money on this printer and I shouldn’t have to update the firmware to print out my own pictures on my own printer. I happily went to update the firmware, however it took well over 20 minutes and was still at 0%. I gave it time and it was still not downloading the firmware. I just want to print out my dang pictures yet the app is requiring to download firm ware that won’t even load!!!! This is ridiculous. I deleted the app and downloaded it again to see if it was just temporary but it is still not downloading the firmware at all when I click update. I’m not about to let my phone sit undisturbed for hours for an app. Please fix this so I can print my pictures ☺️☺️

Worse Quality. I think the old app was better. Right now I randomly get white borders around some of my photos and I can't figure out why. I also can't rotate the images 90 degrees. You have to do it manually which makes it almost impossible to get them square. Also the quality seems to be much worse than when printing with the old app. The photos seems distorted, the color is worse and they seem to print more grainy. The only good things are it seems to connect to my printer better and I love that you can select from certain albums.

Did a 5 year old create this app?!. I hate this app. I want to just print the pictures from my camera roll and be done. I can do my editing on other apps. I first bought the Polaroid Zip printer in December 2016 and they had just changed the app. It worked great for quite a while and then something happened and it stopped working. I don't even know if this is the right app for my printer. I try to connect it through bluetooth and I go to print the photo and then the printer turns off and I have to restart. I get so confused and frustrated that I just give up. Please save yourself some time and just buy a different brand printer and app.

Love the printer but it has issues….. My problems are I cannot update the firmware. It tells me there’s an update and I try it but it stays on 0% for hours or tells me it failed. I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app twice but it does the same thing. Very frustrating. Sometimes the printer doesn’t read the paper and I have to keep loading it again and again hoping to get my prints eventually. Great concept but poor overall execution.

Printer Won’t Connect Through The App. After over an hour of trying I can’t get the app and printer to recognize each other. I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and it won’t connect on my iPad Air or my Blu G9 Pro. I’ve performed all of the troubleshooting steps I can think of (16 years of being a hardware/software deskside tech provides a few ideas) and I admit I am defeated by a portable photo printer. The shame is real. Anyway, my printer is useless because I can’t connect it to any devices. Years ago it worked great, and the photos were perfect for handing out at events or hanging in my office at work. Guess it’s a cute paperweight now.

Worked on iPhone, not iPad. This app didn’t work on a iPad but did work on this iPhone from 2016. Thank you for that, and please troubleshoot the app so it works on all iOS devices (and ideally more devices, open-source, and respectful of user privacy, where opt-in for data collection and sharing is the default rather than having to opt out. It’s a systemic problem; please help)

Slow and archaic. Rule 1 - don’t run out of paper. It will not print your picture. It will just go right back to the home screen and tell you it is out of paper. Then you have to start all over again. This app is very slow. And feels very old. Not a lot of choices for what you can do with your pictures. When you are trying to crop it in the preview screen, leave a small border, it will print slightly larger than it shows. Please update this to be more smooth when you are moving the picture around in preview. It takes a lot of effort to get the picture cropped correctly because I have to keep moving it and then it doesn’t move or don’t stay where I had it when I let off the screen.

2 stars for novelty. Ok it’s nice that it prints cute tiny photos. It annoys me that: 1. I must set up an account and I can’t sign up with Apple ID. 2. It can’t be set up as an external printer or AirPrint. 3. There are few useful filters built in to search photos (e.g. date, location). 4. It doesn’t recognize any albums I set in Google Photos, except for one from 2007 for some reason, which Polaroid assigned a random number rather these the actual album name. 5. Zero sense of chronology. I’m basically scrolling blindly to print pics from the same day. 6. CONSTANTLY need to reconnect to the printer. 7. Printer does not like to connect. 8. If you change orientation on iPad, it ruins your edits. 9. To build a collage, you need to scroll scroll scroll - see point 5 - after selecting each pic. Good early efforts, Polaroid, but long way to go before this is a 5 star app.

This app is annoying. First of all if you youse this app for making collages it resaves awkward crops of all the pictures automatically. Plus it saves them with the same name as the original. It makes it impossible to keep tack of your photos. Also they took away many of the collage options. Now you can only have a max of 4 pics. You can’t easily just start with a collage option either. You have to pick a picture then do the collage then it kicks you all the way out to pick pictures from the main menu again. So if you originally picked a picture from your camera roll to narrow down your selection once you click collage you are back in all photos and have to go back to your camera roll and start over. Plus you can’t easily rotate pictures 90 degrees. The app is not user friendly. The old app wasn’t great but it was better than this.

For the most part I like it.. Generally this app does what it says it does. At first I was frustrated because I could not get any of my edits to stick. Whenever I switched to a new editing tool the previous edit was gone. It took several days to realize that since the images from my iPhone never fully filled the printing area (i.e. a small amount of white space appeared above and below the image) I was unable to see the “X” and “check mark” at the bottom because they were white on white. Also if you edit your photos and leave white space on the bottom you can’t see them either. These marks should either be a different color or be placed outside the image area. I only gave it 3 stars because of my frustration and the time it took me to figure this out.

Finally Figured It Out But Directions Need Updating. Initially I wrote a very bad 1 star review because all of the directions and guidance on the internet were for previous app versions and the new version looks and works completely differently. If you’re going to radically update the app, then you need to update the manual as well. I spent way too much time being frustrated by directions that talk about tapping buttons on the ‘home page’ or ‘main page’ when that page doesn’t exist in the new version. Stop making it so hard on the people who have paid good money for your product and expect it to be as easy as advertised.

Needs serious improvement. It’s kind of ridiculous that the app has such poor ratings and no one has tried to implement updates. I just purchased this mobile printer and if I had known the app’s functionality was this poor, I’m not sure that I would’ve purchased the mobile printer at all. If you choose a photo on the app and then “x” out of it to look at another photo, it jumps to some random “bursts” page and won’t let you return to your camera album unless you close and reopen the entire app. It also won’t connect to my mobile printer! I have to restart my phone *every* single time I want to print a photo because the app is incapable of printing one photo after the next. I really wanted to like the product including the app. The ideas behind the fun stickers and text were solid, but the execution is terrible. Please make improvements so this app can let me do what it’s supposed to do: print photos.

Works like magic!. This little device creates quality photo prints from your phone whenever you want them! A modern update to the old Polaroid instant photos. AND you can peel off the back to reveal a sticky back so you can use it like a sticker, or stick it on a magnet and put it on your refrigerator. Note that you can sometimes stick the picture over top of an old refrigerator magnet to create a new one. Great stuff!

help needed asap. i’ve had my polaroid printer for a while now. i recently got new paper for it hoping to print some pictures out, but the app must have a glitch with the new firmware update that needs to be downloaded. I personally don’t think it’s necessary to even have the update, but it won’t let me not download it. I’ve tried to download it so many times but it won’t let me and take longer that 20 minutes to download. This printer was a lot of money and this glitch should be fixed soon! I also stay in the app when i try to update it and keep my printer on but it never moves from 0%. please make a new update to fix this so that my printer could be normal again. thank you

Terrible Printer. While this app is an improvement from the last one, the printer still prints too dark. You waste your time and money (on the paper) trying to adjust photos to a brighter setting, only to have them come out looking discolored. I thought this would be perfect for my travel journals but I end up wasting photo paper and having to buy even more because it prints color horribly. The image on the screen is inaccurate compared to the prints. I really wanted to love this product. If the darkness were improved, the print quality would be great.

Bad app, great printer. Really sad to see such a great printer held back by a bad app that has a developer that focuses on the wrong things. The most popular editing apps are Pixelmator Photo (iPad), Darkroom, Afterlight, Adobe Lightroom, and a plethora of others. This app is not on that list. So why does the app developer keep focusing and pushing such a bad cluttered design. Just scrap the clutter, put in a better photo browser UI and a better more forgiving UX when selecting photos to print. Perfect those too areas and then maybe you can work on rebuilding the editing and sticker bull crap that is in the app now. The general performance of the app needs to be greatly improved, for some reason it feels laggy and definitely not like it’s a part of an iOS device. Next the resolution of the app makes you want to throw up. I mean come on, let’s get some vectors up in here.

Portrait printing is printing at low resolution. Let’s get the bad stuff out of the way, actual printing. When I print in landscape mode, the prints come out good as before. Portrait mode on the other hand is extremely pixelated. Yes the update corrected the screen pixelation but the print still comes out pixelated as if someone sent the printer a low resolution of the final result. This was verified by printing a few old pictures in portrait mode to compare with the same photo previously printed before the major update. Another minor issue that is missing from the previous iteration is actually able to move the photo while in print preview. What if I want to actually fill the whole paper and not have white borders or what if I wanted to purposely offset the photo for other artistic details? This is not as important as the pixelation but eventually I would like to have this feature back. Aside from those issues, the app looks much cleaner than before.

Bluetooth won’t connect. I’ve had this for a few months now but recently it disconnected from Bluetooth and when I tried to reconnect it would say unsuccessful so I put forget device so I could reset and start again but it won’t pop up to pair with my phone or iPad. It won’t appear on the screen even if I press rest on the Polaroid zip or restart my phone.

Pretty cool. The pictures are an adorable little size, the editing in the app is super easy to use, I love that I can add text. The only problem I had was that the b&w photos I printed have a pink tint. I tried two different filters and they both turned out pink. It’s also a little slow to send pictures to the printer (could be my old phone though) and there’s no way to cancel that I can figure out. Overall I’m happy with it so far.

Good... when it works. This app and the accompanying printer is good... when they work. Twice now I’ve encountered an issue where the printer becomes indiscoverable by phones (tried on mine and my mom’s). When I try to connect, it popped up with an error and only one button that said “forget device” so I did and now it’s like it’s invisible to my phone and to my mom’s. Last time it happened I waited several weeks to try again because I was so frustrated, and when I came back it was discoverable again. Worked fine for several more weeks and now it’s happened again. I love using the pictures for my journal but it is so frustrating when this happens.

Prints in wrong size.. This new apps changes the way my photos print when I add a side by side photo. It prints in a square. It always prints the bottom and top white because the paper isn't a square. Never had the problem until I updated the app. I always print 2 1.5x2 photos on one sheet and now it won't let me. Image come put 1x 1.5 on the 3x4 paper. Unfortanely after updating to the new app it changed the old app to those settings also. So both are print wrong now. There are no settings in the app to change the size of print.

New app renders Zip useless. UPDATE: The new UI is wonderful. Easy to use, functional, and better quality photos. Than you for FINALLY listening to your users! Previous: Every time this app is updated usability declines. It doesn’t appear that Polaroid does any end user testing. This version of the app makes the collage function virtually useless. Without the ability to rotate individual photos in the collage, users are limited to a very few preset collages. Old versions allowed ability to rotate individual photos. You do not improve apps by reducing functionality, which is what happens with every “update.”

App won’t load. Hard to even write a review when I’ve yet to use the printer or the app. I can’t seem to get past the very first page because it takes so long to load and eventually gives me an error saying “request timed out”. I’ve updated my phone software, deleted and redownloaded the app, restarted my phone, turned off WiFi and tried using LTE, etc. Nothing seems to change and I’m getting the same annoying results. I don’t know what else to do.

Issue resolved!!. I recently upgraded to an IPhone XR and when I downloaded and tried to sign into the app, it keeps giving me a “software caused program to lose connection” message and will not allow me to go any further. Extremely frustrating, please fix! I will amend my rating once it is fixed! ****** Turns out the problem the entire time was apple and not Zip. I LOVE THIS LITTLE MACHINE. If you need a printer that is quick and reliable, this is the one for you. Love love love my zip

New firmware?. This app is good for using to print my pictures off of, but since the update like 4 weeks ago or something it says I have to install the new firmware and that it could take up to twenty minutes. I wasn’t too excited about this but I found the time where I had about forty minutes where I could just leave my phone open on the app to install the firmware. I can back like 35 minutes later and it still said 0%. I can’t print out any pictures without updating it, but I also can’t update it. I didn’t let the app close at any point or minimize it or whatever, I did everything the app said to do and left it for more than enough time. I tried deleting the app and redownloading it, everything I could think of but the same thing happens everytime. Please help me deal with this problem.

SCAM and CASH GRAB- DO NOT INSTALL UPDATE!. I hadn’t used this printer for a year or so but it was working just fine. Then I made the mistake of updating the firmware and immediately afterwards ALL of the paper I have (over 10 packs!) is mysteriously a “paper mismatch!” I’ve tried four different packs that are identical to the paper that was working immediately before this firmware update and nope, nothing. They’re sure quick to offer to link me to a website where I can buy new ZINK paper at over $1 a print though! Tossing over $100 in the trash apparently. This is an absolute scam and a blatant cash grab. Garbage device and company that is not trustworthy at all. From all the numerous recent reviews it’s obvious many others are experiencing similar disappointments. Congrats, you’ve ruined the name of a once well established and respected photography company.

Great app poorly supported. My printer stopped working the day after the latest app update. After a week of emails back and forth with customer support I was finally told that it was my printer that was malfunctioning. From the beginning I suspected it was an app issue and even asked if there was a way to install an older version - the answer was no. Finally, I took it upon myself to look through old apps on my phone and found a previous version. After installing it and pairing my printer - TA DA! Printer worked great! So, while I love this little printer, the app development and support needs some updating.

Finally fixed. The old app was such poor quality. After one of the updates the app didn't let us connect to the printer (when we bought it we could). This app seems to have resolved the issues and allowed us to update the firmware. We printed two pictures after getting this new app, without any problems!

Great when it works. When it works, i love it. I use it daily and usually print mini pics in collage format for my planner. The problem is each time they correct a problem, a new problem arises. The current problem is that when loading pics for the collage, the pictures freeze and it eventually crashes. And at one time i could select a bunch of pics and drop them into the collage, remove them and select another, or move them around. With a recent update, those actions were discontinued. The quality of the prints is great. I love that they are adhesive. And it’s portability is great. Right now i am going to shelf it until there is another update.

Terrible. The original app wasn't perfect, but it worked so much better than the current one. I'm finally able to print, but whenever I try to make a collage print, it distorts the photos to the point that they are unprintable. It automatically squishes them down (changes the ratio without properly cropping) and cuts out portions of the picture. I also have to rotate manually instead of a solid 90 degree rotation with a tap, so manual rotations get all wonky. I very much dislike this app and no longer enjoy using the printer. I used to recommend this to people all the time, but now I'm telling hem not to waste their money! Looking into other product options since this one is worthless now.

Color of prints. The colour print out has been absolutely dreadful! And each photo print costs me!

Blank print page after upgrade. Blank print page after firmware upgrade. That s what technology is about nowadays : you buy a product, four years later when you “upgrade” it is obsolete

Is not supported on iPhone X. A $200 purchase for nothing, how is this not supported by iPhoneX???

Printer is not printing. Is this new updated version not support iPhone 6s Plus? I can get the printer to print any phot now. The circle is just keep on turning & can print out any photo for me!!! Please fix the issue

Been trying to print a photo for at least an hour now and it won’t let me get past the update, just keeps loading with the circle yet doesn’t progress onto any confirmation page therefore I cant print any photos. Very disappointed I cannot use my device... please get rid of the update or fix it so I can get past the update stage

Simple and fun. Bought this for the kids to print photos when travelling for their journals. They love it. Simple and easy. Occasionally the colours are a bit funny or streaky but still awesome fun for its size.

Appalling. I thought finally Polaroid had pulled their fingers out and made a decent app. Apparently not. Trying to create a simple Collage is impossible, as the app crashed before you get that far.

Not great. Every photo comes out completely different to the preview. The colours are way off and very dark. Not impressed.

Great little printer. Once it was setup, I found it easy to use. I did upload manual from Polaroid site because I needed to understand it better. I connected printer to my iPad Pro and works fine.

App crashes after 10 seconds. I’ve had the printer since Feb 2017 and I love it, but I the last 6 months I have been EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED by the “supporting app”... not only is it extremely slow when it did work last year, but now the app does not work at all. The app crashes within 10 seconds of being opened on an up to date iPad... which had no problems but speed 1 year ago. The Polaroid zip WAS a favourite gift. But now I cannot even use it. Please fix the app. For an expensive product (to buy and to run) I would expect a much more user friendly interface, quicker and more thorough bug fixes, and an app that quite simply... WORKS

Collage option doesn’t work. The collage option doesn’t work, you create the collage but when you want to save it to print, the save button doesn’t work, I delete the app, reinstall the app, my IOS is up to date and nothing I have to make a collage on another app and save the photo which defeats the purpose.

Can’t add text or stickers anymore?. The options are there but no way to keep the changes anymore.

App won’t work on iPhone. When “select an accessory” list shows up, it is blank. Polaroid zip doesn’t support the new iPhone update (or vice versa)... making my printer now obsolete as I cannot print anything anymore. Waste of money if u have an iPhone.

Hate it. This new app has ruined the usefulness of the Zip. The photo quality is so much worse, pictures are blurry, orangey, and dark no matter how often I recalibrate

Please figure this out!. In 2016 when I got my printer the app was great. It worked perfectly and was user friendly. Since that update, and all the ones since then this app has been terrible!! I cannot believe how awfully it functions. It crashes constantly, it now limits how you can turn photos in a collage, it often won’t connect with my phone, it’ll bring up the blue tooth screen but not list the printer until I hit cancel where the app has already been able to locate the device. The steps to creating collages are not obvious. All around I am so frustrated with Polaroid and cannot believe that a company the size of this one can’t get an app to function to a reasonable degree of ease. If I had the choice of connecting any other photo printing app to this device I would, but I guess I’m stuck using Zip.

not working and/or printing blanks. initially i was very happy with my polaroid zip but recently i tried to print and it hasn’t been working. i’ve already tried opening two brand new polaroid premium zink paper packs and still nothing. also updated the app and the app says it’s compatible with my iphone and ios so i’m not sure what the problem. frustrated and feeling like i’ve wasted a bunch of money.

Disgrace. This app is a disgrace for Polaroid. Previous version was even worse, but even in this new version, it’s obvious the app was developed by a team who has no idea about mobile or iOS development. Photo library selection is full of bugs. You don’t have the simplest UX features such as photo snapping when arranging the frame. It won’t remember previously set frames for photos you already printed. Colour adjustments and previews are completely useless. The device can go to sleep while printing because they forgot to turn on screen sleep disabler. I’m not even going to get into the lack of quality on the prints because it’s not the software’s fault, but the whole experience is a waste of money and time. Gonna try my luck with Kodak.

Zip Vs. Sprocket. I like the availability to adjust the photo before printing. Trying it out for thanksgiving dinner.

Collage crashes. Not very usefull the app crashes everytime I try to make a collage.

Why even bother with albums...?. This app would be way better if you could browse your photo gallery the same way you can browse it on the phone. I am not obsessively printing the last ten pics on my phone, if I want to print a selection of photos over a year or more it is a pain to scroll, find the one photo, and do it all over again. I’d like to be able to select a few photos at a time, create a folder, and access that folder within the app. Even better if you can just hit the “share” button on a photo and send it to print!!! Other than that, I already made the investment and bought the printer, but the photos are always darker than the original...I wouldn’t recommend this purchase.

Crashing constantly. I really like the overall design of this app. I enjoy the added boarders and the like from the previous app. That being said this app crashes all the time. I go to select a picture and it crashes. It's so bad it's basically useless.

Stop Selling Product If App is Awful. Terrible app!! Older version was better. Keep getting kicked out added photos and you can’t rotate photos in collage. Very disappointed as I spent a lot of money on a Polaroid Zip and the app doesn’t work to print photos.

Great Hardware. Bad App.. The printer itself works very well. However this app is not as good and leaves a lot to be desired in 2019. Issues: - No share sheet integration - No shortcuts integration - UI is full of friction to find edited photos - Crashes on pairing - No presets for printing - No option to disable Facebook, Google, Instagram integration - consumes incredible amount of screen space on larger phones. Must be really bad on smaller ones. If they could fix all of the above they’d have a great app. As it stands it misses so much low hanging fruit and is annoying to use.

Not happy. The old app did not crash at all & I want to make a collage & every time I choose one photo than try to pick another it crashes. So disappointed as this was an amazing app for me to journal my photos. Not now. Hopefully it will get fixed soon. Other than that it is very user friendly.

Very glitchy. This app is extremely slow and will often crash. I have to constantly restart it to get the photo to print. It is fully up to date and I just installed the new firmware as well.

Cant even use. Since they have updated the app, i cant even get onto the app. It just loads for like 5 minutes and then says “request timed out” i thought maybe it was my phone that didnt work but then i tried it on my ipad and my other phone and they all did the exact same thing. My printer is basically useless without the app so im not very happy.

Returning user. I haven’t used my printer in awhile and it was not updated. Downloading the updates and getting back into it was so easy and fast. This is so convenient for scrapbooking, sharing photos and for strange shaped,mini, decorative frames that I buy at Michaels!

Filmware update keeps me from printing pictures. I downloaded the app and it keeps making me download the filmware update and doesn’t allow me to exit it out of it. I left it to update for two hours completely undisturbed, however it still didn’t finish the so called update. This is very upsetting as I wanted to print out my pictures from my prom which are very important to me, I wanted to keep the pictures as keep sakes. Although this “filmware” update is keeping me from doing so, please can you fix this.

Two times a charm hopefully!!. The first Polaroid Zip I ordered did not print the first two photos selected, the blue paper came out just fine. The next two were blank and the third got jammed and the machine would not stop making a weird noise. Contacted shipper and waited for a return label, I had to go out and print off, so I could return it. It cost me just under $20.00. to send it back and have not yet gotten a response from them or a refund. I trust this one will work out just fine.

Won’t connect. Since getting a new phone, my Polaroid Zip won’t connect with my phone anymore :(

Newest update fixes many issues. After releasing a dedicated app for the zip I was hoping for improvement but this app is even worse. After selecting a picture the aspect ratio gets messed up and all the pictures you select become stretched out and make them look horrible...makes the picture unprintable. The collage feature is completely broken since the ability to zoom in or out doesn't even exist... Please fix ASAP. Disappointing that such basic features like this aren't tested out before releasing the app. Edit: in response to you feedback, I tried printing a couple of pictures out and they come out exactly how I see them in the app. Another issue I ran into is that when I select a photo to print the resolution becomes very degraded in the editing phase and becomes pixelated and loses a lot of detail. I don't want to waste anymore zink paper trying test this out. Edit 2: the newest update makes the app useable again! Hope you guys continue to bring more awesome features in your future updates. Edit 3: although the editing is now functional I was unable to print out the actual picture.

How can we fix collage printing?. This app was much needed. Easy connection via Bluetooth and pictures are coming out much brighter than the previous app. However collage printing is a total mess. When I try to create a collage of 4 pictures, all the images are distorted in some way. Either the images are stretched out or cropped weird from the original image. This definitely takes away the ease of printing a collage. Disappointed with this feature. Can this be fixed?

Absolute GARBAGE. Hasn't worked well for years. 2023: Doesn't work at all with Zip anymore. Piece of absolute TRASH.

why doesn’t this work anymore!. It used to work well, but as soon as i select a photo the printer disconnects. I’ve tried alltge trouble shooting steps i could find - reset printer, delete and reinstall the app, update my iOS, THEN reinstall app AND restart printer. Tried all those steps in different sequences, nothing works. Awful and very frustrating.

APP Will Not Open. I was very excited to get my Polaroid Zip printer u till I tried to use this App. The app shuts down immediately when you try to use it. I have tried it numerous times and it never starts. I feel like I just bought a very expensive paper weight. FIX THIS APP or I will be returning the printer.

So Disappointing. I don’t even use this Zip Because this app has always crashed. I want to print more than pic on a sheet but it crashes right in the middle of dragging the second pic. I want my money back because I can’t use the zip without the app working. Disappointed

Please fix it!. So i haven’t used my zip printer in a while and it prompted me to download this new app to print my pictures. It’s fine for just printing one picture at a time but when i tried to use the collage option, it just completely closed out the app. I restarted, i deleted it and tried to load it again.. still happens and i just want to make my collage! Please fix it

Awful app. Ever since they made us change to this new app from the last Polaroid zip app, it doesn’t print half the time. I have to restart the app and turn the printer on and off to print another photo. The old app took 5 minutes to print 5-7 pictures. This app takes 10 minutes to print 2 photos. This app makes me consider hp photo printers.

Solid app. Just got this and printed a couple of pictures off. App is very easy to use but the pictures do come out dark so editing is required. Tried looking on the reviews for some helpful editing tips/ settings but there hasn’t been any I’ve noticed. Quality of printed pictures is good for a portable printer just the slight darkness is an issue. Experience I think might be the key

I like the app but.... The app works great for me. The only thing It lacks are frame options. I feel like the app would be so much better if we had more frame layouts when printing our photos. I hope that can be considered for a next update.

Best ever. I love this app because it helps with my most favorite thing. Pictures with my Polaroid zip!! We never print pictures anymore. But I do all the time. I especially love it to add pictures of what we have done to my planner!!

The app is crashing. The app + printer combo worked well for three pictures and the app started crashing. It lets me get to the point where I select my photo and select the blue tooth device. However- once I select the device, the app shuts off. I see in the details the bug causing the app to crash was fixed two months ago but clearly it was not fully resolved.

Review of the Polaroid zip. Very fast at printing and the quality is very good! If you have Bluetooth you can use this any where, just press few buttons and ready! No need to dry the picture like the instax! Also you can edit the pictures so it can have a frame just like the Polaroid instax!

good overall. I thought this product/ app was good overall. The only con was that the photos come out a little bit darker than they appear on the screen. This can be easily fixed by putting brighter filter on the photo to make it just as bright as it appears on the screen

Back to crummy dark photos again. It was working great for a while, now With the last update, I’m back to crummy dark photos again. They look fine on my screen, so sometimes I forget that the quality of the print is so poor. I don’t think I should have to lighten every picture just to get a semi-decent print. Buying the paper packs is not cheap and I’m throwing out a lot of prints. I can’t understand why you have something that works great, then “update” it to something less.

Sometimes good and sometimes not. I wish there was a way that you could see how much battery you have left because so many times I went to print something and wasted film because the battery died and I had to start over. 😡 It seems to be working better these days although last week not as well as about a month ago.

This app needs work. The very first app for the zip was the best, and each new updated app only disappoints me. I have printed about 6 photos with this and it’s frozen twice (without printing the photo). The collage feature is useless as it changes the dimensions of your photos, making them distorted and ugly. It is extremely slow and saves a new version of each photo, with no option to turn this off. Considering purchasing a different brand of instant printer.

App review. I think this app is awesome , it prints pictures so well and I can customize your pictures with frames and stickers and more , sorry if this sounds like a brand deal but overall the app worked great and it’s really good

AMAZING!!!! 🌟. This photo printer has great quality and the app is one of the best printer apps ever!!! If you want a really good collage though, you should get the app pic collage and use a photo from there to print here. I wish you could change the time stamp date though so that it could be your own custom date

Much improved from when I first bought the printer. But it can't really do what I want to do. I use the pictures for my planner and print 2-up for the week. I still can’t print two equal size pictures. The collage always make one picture smaller than the other and I have to edit it and manually drag the width and guess where the middle is.

Doesn’t work. This app is terrible. I have had my Polaroid zip for a little under a year and it has been practically impossible to print pictures. Neither of the two apps work and on the off chance that they do, they either print pictures too dark or with too much light. Currently I am finding it impossible to get either app to even connect to my printer. The app simply crashes and does not reopen when I click the connect to a device button.

Happy Camper!!. I love my little Polaroid Zip Instant Printer. It’s fast and easy. I read previous reviews and brightened my pictures on my phone first. My pictures came out awesome. Can’t wait to use it around family and friends. I’ll update then. I might even share some pics. Great purchase!!

App not connecting after last iOS update. After the latest update the Zip no longer connects. Tried on 3 phones, works on the one that did not get the update. The Zip briefly shows itself when you are switching it off. Please fix!! Only giving 1 star as it needs quick support. Pictures would be better a little brighter, besides that handy tool!

Love it but it needs work. I love how easy it is to and move around it. The only reason why it’s not a 5star is because I have to lighten all my pics before I print them because if not they come out really dark.. But still happy to use it

Something is wrong (WAS FIXED!). Changing my review because the app was updated and the issue has been fixed. It’s now working decently and I am able to print photos quickly and well. Thank you for being responsive to the latest reviews!!!! It is important for users to feel heard and I can say that I personally do now.

More Frustration than Gratification. I have been using this printer and the app for the past 10 months. The amount of time I have spent trying to troubleshoot has by far exceeded the time I have spent printing photos. Today has been the final straw. I have spent an hour downloading new firmware, deleting and reloading the app, and searching the internet for fixes and I still cannot get a picture to print because the app crashes as soon as I select the photo.

Perfect Mother’s Day present. Easy to set up - using it out of the box in 10 minutes and I am not very technologically minded. The ability to print wirelessly in the moment is such a fun way to share the photos that usually just stay hidden in my phone. I like to use photos in my craft projects and to personalize gifts so this is perfect!

Photo Albums. Wish the next version will let you choose specific photo albums (in your device) to open in galleries, instead of making you scroll through a million pictures. Also you keep on having to choose how the thumbnails are shown instead of your last choice being saved.

Great app!. This little Polaroid mobile printer is so cool! I can give friends and family pictures on the go and is perfect for making a collage. The colors are not perfect and you have to be careful with filters. Sometimes the pictures come out looking washed out or too dark. Works best with no filter or color adjustments in my opinion.

Keeps Dumping. The old version worked and this one doesn't. I haven't used my Polaroid Zip in awhile because I was never happy with the color in the pictures. The only thing worse than the pictures it produces is this app that makes them! What's with this product? The app dumps me whenever I try to access photos taken after uploading the latest app version. I will play around with it some more and try ordering new print paper only because I want it to work but it's really bad so far.

Won’t connect. Haven’t used the zip printer in a few months, but just went to go use it and despite being connected through Bluetooth in my phone, the Polaroid zip app won’t recognize my device to pair. I can get it to show up in discoverable devices but when you select the printer it just disappears. I even tried pressing the reset button on the printer and repairing it with my phone. No Luck.. has anyone else been experiencing these issues?

Love it!. Hello I just wanted to know that your guises app is amazing it prints out my photos very well and I made a fun photo wall of me and all my friends. I got this last year for Christmas and I’m still using it it is amazing and I would highly recommend keep up the great work guys.

It won’t print. The printer won’t even print no matter how many times I try. I know I’m connected and that something is happening but no photos come out. All the tutorials I look at show the old app and not the new one and to make matters worse no matter where I look all I can find is the old app. I don’t know if it’s the app or the printer but all I know is that I’ve been trying for months now and still nothing has printed.

Love it. The Polaroid is so easy to connect and I love how it can also be a sticker and can make it a collage+ make additional edits. The color and picture quality can be a bit off from the actual picture, but it’s an overall great and convenient product to use than to bring a camera around.

Customer Service. it's incredible to me that after a year-and-a-half you guys still have not been able to fix this app into something remotely functional. Not to mention the fact that IVE TRIED TO EMAIL AND CALL YOU MANY TIMES and have gotten NO RESPONSE TO MY EMAILS OR PHONE MESSAGES yet you seem to be telling people that if they contact you that you'll get right on the problem which I haven't seen in almost 2 years now.

Much improved. The new app is MUCH improved over its useless predecessor. However when making collages why populate the camera roll oldest to newest? I have to scroll through literally thousands of photos to get to the one I just took & want to use. Makes zero sense. That said, the app reboot eliminated the use of 3rd party software, which is appreciated.

New update. I had brought the Polaroid zip like a year or two ago and loved using it but then I stop for a year and I have tried to print out pictures this time but you need to download the new software to print multiple pictures but the thing is it tells you it takes about 20 minutes to do and you have to leave the app open plus have it on but the Polaroid zip turns off after a while which is annoying because it won’t download the software if it’s off 🙄

By this product!!!!. This was so easy to set up!!It took me literally 5 minutes and holds a charge for a really long time!😄 I made this pic for my friend and it really high quality. It glossed over and everything!! I totally recommend this product!!

Resolution blows. I thought at first it was my photos because they weren’t being fully downloaded from the cloud, but after confirming they were, multiple resets of the zip, and a few packs of Zinc paper the photos I printed were as pixelated and grainy on as a flip phone photo from ten years ago. The old app produced higher quality prints and I loved using it. Now the new app makes me want to toss the printer in the trash. I’m lease rectify this issue quick.

Polaroid Zip App. The collage function doesn’t work well enough; if you select one of the multiple window functions, it changed the measurement of the window blocks, skewing the photos. As for a regular basic printing; it appears that the coding that is being sent to the printer is getting corrupted, or the printer isn’t properly synchronized to the app, because the images get cut off, come out incredibly blurry, or the picture prints darker than how you have it set up on your phone.

For the love of God, Please update your app!!!. This is INSANE. Did everyone but your customer service team up and quit? I just want to print these photos. The person I emailed with had me replace my camera (???) instead. FINALLY got the replacement and guess what? EXACT SAME ISSUES. If everyone is giving you a poor rating, don’t you think that maybe, PERHAPS, there is a huge issue with YOUR app? I dunno guys, just spitballing here. Just a guess. Please don’t respond with your generic “oh no! So sorry you’re having issues” cause I’ve already contacted you and your support team has zero answers for us.

Not printing my photos off of my phone?. I’ve disconnected, reconnected, restarted both devices and it’s just not working . I know for a fact it’s hooked up via Bluetooth & that my blue goth works ( as it takes to the device and others as well ). But what I’m not understanding is why my photos aren’t being sent to the camera, why they aren’t being printed , and why it’s not correcting itself . I have a IPhone 7 Plus and the Snap touch camera.... I literally just got it yesterday . - helppp

Love it!. Really great printer soo convenient being able to print from your phone and not needing to carry around a bulky Polaroid to get a cute picture. It does add some warmth to the photo so you have to compensate for that but otherwise I love it!!

Poor quality, not worth it!. This is not worth the money NOR the time I have put into my zip printer. The concept is great, but the quality is so poor that it takes forever to adjust and edit a photo to get an OK print. The app does nothing to help in that process and I have to waste so much photo paper that the tiny little photo becomes more expensive than going to get them developed. I suggest putting your money into an editing app or just a full size printer!

Love my new Polaroid Zip!!. Just got my 1st Pic off the new Zip. Wow! A Great Quality photo. Good set up instructions through the ‘polaroid zip’ app. I will enjoy using this well made photo copier. I recommend this well made/ Quality Product to others. A great value for $ spent.

Love it!!. Our kids bought this as an anniversary gift. We absolutely love printing pictures just the right size to hang on our refrigerator. I also print special pics to give to family. Makes it pretty special❤️

Crashes constantly. Very frustrating. I’ve tried everything to solve the problem but the app crashes quite often, especially when trying to make a collage (even after the most recent update). I got this printer because I heard good things, but you are dependent on this sub-par app to print. The trouble-shooting website offers no effective solutions. Wish I would have looked into this before I purchased the printer.

The apps great the printers TRASH. The printer is a waste of money!!!! I looks so good I the app but then the picture comes out looking like trash!!!! My was so different than what the preview on the app showed. Very disappointing. This was also very expensive. I would recommend the smartphone picture printer for way cheaper and way better quality. The paper for the Polaroid is a very good price that’s a plus. This app is easy to use though. The printer is terrible quality for 107 dollars.

First use of Polaroid Zip. Just amazed with the quality and clarity of a printed picture from the Polaroid Zip. Cost for such quality is incredibly low. Would strongly recommend it for anyone wanting a mobile printing capability from their phone or IPAD.

Not great pictures but a good tool for organizing. I had to go online to find instructions on how to load the paper. But it was pretty easy. The pictures are not great but I’m just using the prints on the outside of storage boxes to remind me what’s in them. I’m also going to have pix of how my shelves n drawers are organized to help the kids put things back where they go.

Simply Put, It Doesn't Work. I have never left a review on an app, but I felt the need to after feeling cheated by false advertising. As I understand it, this app used to work. However, after having downloaded it and attempting to send pictures from my phone to my Snap Touch, I now understand it does not. Every attempt to print after a successful Bluetooth connection has led to the message "sending to printer," which has never actually happened. Please fix this so that I can change this review!

Internet required... why?. I loved this device. It was the perfect little gadget to take on trips and give away quick photos to new friends. I hadn’t used it in a while, but the current app requires an internet connection to even start. There is no reason why this app should require internet!! I used to use this internationally, so now the device is basically useless to me. Another great device and app that decided that tracking its users is more important than usability.

Easy, Simple. I love having little keepsakes, so printing the digital photos from my phone is something I needed. This app works well and walks you through the steps to print. If you forget to connect your device it helps you connect it and is very useful.
