Neat idea, App feels unfinished. App is useful, you finish one level, you move on to the next, making mind training a kind of challenge. However, there are no real settings, the App writes Mindfulness data to Healthkit, but doesn't read it back, a shockingly common problem with Apps in this category, even the most popular ones. No way to contact the developer via the App, presumably this is possible via the developer page. Hopefully some of this will be addressed in a coming update.

Confusing, not mindful. I'm pretty well versed in mindfulness and thought this app would be a nice addition to include movement in my practice. Instead I get useless feedback about going too fast or too slow instead of a visually-represented target range for expected motion. Either have no rules on the movement or clear targets so I can lose myself in them. As it is, it's distracting, punishing, and the opposite of mindful.

Surprisingly Calming!. I've been practicing mindfulness meditation for several years now. I really like the Pause app, so I bought Sway as soon as I heard about it. Four days in, I'm really enjoying the experience of swaying back and forth as an alternative to sitting completely still, and I've moved it to my first home screen. My only wish is for the app to save mindful minutes to HealthKit.

App crashed when you stop the mediation. Don't buy until they fix the problems Seem like the developer doesn't continue fixing the problems. I bought both sway and pause but both all crashed while I was trying to stop the meditation.

Love it - just need HealthKit integration. I struggle to focus on guided meditation, but the kinetic aspect of Sway really works well for me. If my mind wanders, I start to move too fast, and Sway gently brings me back to the moment. Worth the $4 to try it out and learn that about myself IMO. Just needs to integrate with Apple Health for the fifth star from me. Gotta get them mindfulness minutes.

Nags and causes its own type of stress. I really wanted to like this app, but I found that I ended up dreading using it. The music and graphics are beautiful. However, you have to keep your eyes glued to the screen for instructions. There's no option for customizing it to fit your needs. It also gets to the point of being really naggy in order to keep you using the app. If you miss a single day, you go back! More frustration than it's worth.

I love this app. First: this app isn’t a game. The levels are helping you find the pace of your movements. First, you start by holding the phone and looking at it. Then, you progress to holding the phone and not looking at it. Then you work up to slipping the phone in your pocket and swaying by audio feedback only. Gaining a level isn’t a reward; losing a level isn’t punishment. This is about teaching and training about finding the sway speed. Levels are really irrelevant. Second: audio feedback is key. It will provide you with gentle reminders when you’re moving too quickly or too slowly. It’s normal to hear this feedback when you slip your phone into your pocket. It also happens if I try a new movement and I have to move to keep my balance. I’ll get a “you’re going to fast” maybe once or twice in a 20-minute sway session. It’s not a punishment if this happens, it’s just feedback. Last: sway as long as time permits. Some days, I have 10 minutes to sway. If I lose a level, it doesn’t matter. Even at level 1, I can sway with my phone in my pocket for 15 minutes the next day. The levels only matter for beginners, not those who have the sway speed down.

Innovative. Sway is a great alternative to guided meditation apps.

With meditation tech I only trust these guys. I second skylarp's request for HealthKit integration. And also it would be delightful to see Watch app.

One Major Flaw. Unfortunately, I love almost everything about this app and would be thrilled to use it as part of my meditation. The idea of focusing and calming through movement is quite appealing to me. But. It requires that you start with a couple of minutes, and then do it daily to “unlock levels” of longer meditation. If you miss a day, you’re knocked back down in time and have no control over this. First, I’m not playing a video game and don’t want to unlock levels. Second, and more importantly, I like to use a variety of meditation tools and styles and don’t want to commit to one app or practice every time. The fact that I can’t choose my own duration of meditation session is an absolute deal breaker for me. This is a useless tool for me that would be highly useful if I were able to make my own decisions about the length of my session.

Amazing. Awesome app that helps one to meditate. Really see myself using this daily! Hope they can add some new maps / features but great so far!

Brilliant. This is an exciting development in mindfulness. I started right away and have been doing it every day. Excited to see the results.

Excellent. Really good to help train mindfulness and motion meditation. I feel so relaxed after each session.

Infuriating. I did day one, came back for day two and it had reset itself as if I never did day one. This is more frustrating than its worth.

Stunningly Beautiful and Calming. I love this app so much. It was so very worth it. I absolutely adored "Pause" by Ustwo and this is an excellent upgrade!

Doesn’t work ever. I never got a chance to use the app, it never worked! And I payed for its download. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE.

Really Enjoy the app. Sway is a beautiful app and has encouraged me to have more mindful movements and motions throughout the day. 2 things: First, is there anyway to see your lifetime stats or a way to build that into the app? Secondly, is there a way to access just the music without having to do the sway motion. Having the music available I think would be wonderful. Thanks team!

Really interesting approach to meditation. I've been meditating for close to a year now, using apps like headspace, 10% happier, calm, and even pause, and was utterly fascinated by the effects of just doing this sort of thing, so when I saw this app on the front page and its claims of a more open meditation, I got curious. After a few tries, can definitely say that it does work and really does produce the same lasting "feel" you get from a good 10-15 min meditation, in some instances it genuinely relaxed me more than doing meditation. So yea, really interesting approach guys, can't wait to see how u all build on this app

Levels should be unlocked as you progress and NOT regress back!. I like Sway. Really do. But the fact that the devs literally force you to use it everyday, otherwise your progress is lost, is incredibly aggravating. And being aggravated is not in the best interest of someone trying to relax. So please, if I unlocked a level DO NOT make the user go back to the same levels as he/she already played forever in case they miss a day of Sway. This is ludicrous and do not make for a pleasant experience. And the fact that you have to wait until the *next day* to progress is an exercise in futility. DEVS: it's a paid app. We paid to have the full experience, not just the first two levels (of a mere 6) if you miss a day or two. I want to LOVE Sway, as it's unique and it really is a great experience. Just don't ram your ideas of progression down the users throats and let us Sway to the levels we like, not only the ones you think we should play. Fix this and the stars will go to 5. Thanks.

Wonderful app and excellent customer service!. I am a GAD sufferer and was very excited to have this app as something to practice in my free time however the app froze every single time I opened it. I messaged the apps developer and got a response only hours later I updated my phone and the app works wonderfully. Iam very impressed and a very happy customer. Thank you!

Moving meditation great for yogis. I'm used to the moving meditation I get from my daily yoga practice. Have always had a hard time finding stillness in meditation. Either my was "moving" or my body. This is a great tool. Have used it a couple times and can feel the "day" leaving my body and I feel the benefits of the mindfulness. Just trying to figure out the best place to put my phone. Hmm?? Wondering if an Apple Watch integration will come in the future? Question for the developers: I don't understand. I'm clearly meditating for 10-15 mins but it only shows 6. When I'm moving too fast or too slow is it not counting that as time? I'm not even sure if it's better to be hearing a lot of music or soft? I think I prefer the soft music. Idk. I guess I need some actual help using the app and there is not real guidance provided.

Wonderful idea but.... This is truly a great idea, and the sounds are wonderful, but there needs to be more of a correlation between your hand movements, and the display screen. The prompting telling you that you are moving to fast or to slow, and the subtle bar at the edge of the screen is not enough. Perhaps a soft glowing light at the center of the screen gently trailing off particles of light in the opposite direction of your movements would be nice. Otherwise you feel like you're just moving your phone around for no apparent reason, and a rock would suffice. I am using an iPad and not a phone, so I might be missing something.

Looks and Sounds Great... Gives me Anxiety. I really wanted to love this app. The idea of an app where you meditate through motion rather than following a guide is great and really excited me. The audio and visual design are both fantastic. But, the app itself is nagging and ruins my meditation every time I attempt to use it. If you start going too fast or go too slow, it abruptly notifies you, bringing you out of your meditative state and forcing you to change your motion. This has condition me to feel constantly anxious rather than relaxed while using the app. Their solution to get you to keep using the app is that you must achieve a prescribed amount of meditation minutes daily or you lose a level. Decent motivation, but also figures in to the over-all anxiety inducing nature of the app. I hope they allow options in the future to accommodate people who want to move more freely during their practice. Until then, I'll stick to regular meditation and other movement practices.

Distracting, not relaxing. The requirement to keep your phone moving, and at just the right speed, is distracting and stressful and does not contribute to mindfulness or relaxation at all. A failed concept.

I'm very confused. I've been practicing guided meditation for the better part of a year. I'm really lost in the type of moment this app is trying to encourage. The phone only has rotation sensors... I have no idea if I'm doing this correctly. I've set a timer to check how long I'm practicing and I last the timer but the app tells me to continue. It's nicely designed but very confusing.

U miss U go nack/ U don't miss the bugs still makes U go back. So buggy it made me lose lvls...This is aggregating like the reviwer in previous version had sad. Stupid bugs are still out there to get ur meditation lvls........ When will I ever see lvl 6 ....

Easily the best meditation app. The meditations are so simple that they work better to clear your mind than just silence alone. The soundscapes are really good and adaptive to your pacing. Use with wireless headphones for best results.

Interesting Idea. I really love the interface and idea of this app, but I can't seem to get it to work for me. I would love to be able to use this for mindful walking, but the app does not seem to detect my steps, no matter how slowly I walk. For clarity, I put the phone in my back pocket.

Health app integration please!. All that's missing. More levels would be nice too.

Huh. I am happy to update this review if I am shown to be in err. But as it stands, I don't even understand what I am supposed to be doing at the first stage. I've headphones plugged in focussing on the auditory stimulus rather than the visual. Moving my phone somehow while doing mindfulness meditation. I keep getting messages saying I am moving the phone too fast or too slow and to end session. Where's the guide for the speed of movement? How does the app want me to move the phone? For a supposedly multi sensory app, I was getting no discernible feedback.. Except for those error messages. And I thought I should only be concentrating on the sounds. Back to Headspace.

Finally a mindfulness app that gets it right!. I've been searching for an app like this for quite a while. I've tried most of the rest, and while some are good, none incorporate movement, sound, and positive reinforcement quite like Sway. I would thoroughly recommend Sway to everybody.

Quite annoying. Meditation that involves awkward continuous movement with fine muscles is not relaxing. It does force you to focus on the present as all you can think of is how irritating it is to keep your phone in constant motion. I'd like my $4 and 3 minutes back.

Don't buy this. While the visual design is great, the application of the vision for this app misses the mark. It's not a mindfulness app or even close to a meditation app. It's a neat idea, executed well with little to no thought of how the user will benefit from it.

De-gameify this app. I want to love this app more than I do, but it has a major design/philosophical flaw that makes it infuriating. I purchased this app with the intent to use it for walking meditation. And it's quite possible to do so, but only at the higher 'levels' of the app. Does the sensitivity differ between levels? I don't know, but the app does appear to behave differently from one level to the next. This would be fine, and kind of cool, but the app is gameified such that if you miss a day (or more) you slide back a level (or more). To get back to that sweet level that works great for walking meditation, I have to progress through each level that proceeds it, but one. day. at. a. time. Why? Why design the app this way? It could be a great support to meditation, but instead it's just a terrible 'game'. Please, in the next version, give the user the option, once they've progressed through a level, to 'hold' their current level if they wish and not slip backwards. Do that, and you've got something unique AND useful. Thanks!
