Very fun, adds ambiance to parties and events. Fun app to bring lightning and thunder to your hue setup - used it as part of a special effect for a tiki party at my place, and it was fun and delightful.

Nailed it. This is an amazing app. You can tell that some real time and care went into this instead of trying to just make a buck. The developers really wanted this to feel like a real storm and they've nailed it. Don't hesitate to download this one.

(Almost) Best thunderstorm app. So I had bought another thunderstorm app to fall asleep to before this, but after one night of using this app, I am in love! Fell asleep easier than I have in a while. One thing though is I noticed that after several hours, the app crashes. I tend to let things run until the morning cause it helps me stay asleep until my alarm. I woke up due to it crashing and had to open the app and set the storm to play again. Then it did it again after another several hours. Once this is fixed, I’ll gladly change my rating to 5 stars. Otherwise, this is a great app!

Feels wonderful... enjoyable sounds and lightning to make a storm lover feel great.. If app quits working, Unplug hub and then re-sync after giving it a few seconds rest. I love that you can run multiple apps and they all work. I let lightning run on this with thunderstorms and list to waves or monastery bells running Soul and body. Lights and apps are best indulgent spending I’ve made in years... almost like vacation in a box.

Definitely Worth the Money. I was a bit skeptical, thinking some of the reviews might be falsified. But hungry for a better hue experience (there is so much potential with these lights but development for them has been subpar thus far), I decided to purchase anyway. It's truly the best thunder app for hue, by far. Syncs well to my Klipsch Wireless system with no delay.

Good bu could be better. It looks like thunders and lights are well synchronised, I mean too well synchronised. In nature light comes first than the sound, intensity and delay changes by distance. In this app, light and sound comes together basically kills the mood. Hope there will be a fix in the future.

Great! Only 1 problem. This app is amazing! Well worth the money, really helps put me to sleep. The lightning & thunder sync up perfectly. My only problem with this is that I wish it didn't cause my phone to get so hot. I'm using an iPhone 7 plus and it makes it really warm. Other than that it's amazing! Money well spent. Way better than those white noise machines

Love the app, but it does make the phone too hot. Downloaded and it’s very realistic. Works great! I decided I would record video of it after about five minutes of trying it out. I noticed immediately it had a caution symbol on the left side, top on iPhone 7 Plus camera. Then a window popped up stating Flash Disabled. The phone needs to cool down before using the flash. I’m running latest iOS 11, non-beta and not charging at the time. The phone really gets warm! Love the app, but the heat issue has me worried to use it.

4 stars because of the limited airplay ability.. Good graphics, simple controls (for the most part) I'm still learning it. It won't let you play through more than one set of airplay speakers. I don't know if this a app problem or apple problem. I'm 90% sure the app is limiting you.

An amazing app by great people. I use this app for white noise with ambiance and it works amazingly. It sounds and looks super real especially since you can custom set every aspect of it. Plus the people making the app are super responsive and that's great!

Great app for Hue!. I absolutely love this app. I have only played with it for a few minutes so I am not sure if I will run into the crash issues others have experienced. As for now, this app has completely blown me away. After AirPlaying the storms through my HomePod, the only disappointment came when I had to shut it off and rejoin the family. I can’t wait to show it to my wife tonight.

Way way over sold. This wasn’t anything like the ads. It was really lame to be honest and I have Hue all over the house. It could have been better by far. Don’t waste your money. I’d be embarrassed entertaining friends with this.

Could be better. Thorlight does good for around same price. Not much control in these apps. More of you get what it does not so much how you’d like.

Good but won’t stay on. I keep trying to use this to go to sleep but every time I set the timer it goes off way before its suppose to then I look at my phone and the app has to boot back up

Needs Smart Bridge. This does not work with Bluetooth Hue Bulbs alone, you need the Hue Bridge. This was not in the description.

Okay for a little while…. These collection of soundscapes are decent at best. Just don’t run them for extended period of time (greater than 2 hours, not sure exactly how long). After which something controlling the lights freezes, but the sounds keep playing. At which point any HomeKit lights are all placed in the default room, and given the names of default hue light. A work around I have discovered is to open the Hue (official app) and sync Hue with HomeKit. It’ll give an error saying already synced or already exists. Down side being you’ll have to group your lights again.

App lives up to the name.. Great lightning effects and sound. Especially when run thru my surround receiver. Well worth the $$.

Great App!. Adds the perfect ambiance to our on home Tiki escape room. Thanks for bringing back the ability to mix the sounds with music apps!

Almost perfect!. I use this all the time and absolutely love it except for one thing. I just wish you would remove the color slide bar and replace it with the color wheel that’s used on HomeKit because with the slider you’re missing so many colors that you can’t access and my other hue lights I use for my thunderstorm scene can’t match correctly because of this. Please consider fixing this tiny thing. It would make me so happy!

Super fun. I love these apps this developer makes. The sounds sync up very well to the lighting effects and so far it's great! It's fun if you want to just chill and have extra lighting effects with your "rain machine" but I think it's funny it also includes a tornado and hurricane scene. I doubt I'll find listening to a tornado relaxing, but it's still cool it's there. Who knows... Maybe you'll be sitting down watching "twister" and want some immersive ambiance to match.

Doesn’t work the second time. Worked fine when I downloaded it, very next day it tries to reconnect to his hub that is saved and can’t. Every thing else still works so it’s not the hub.

Could be better. It’s definitely not a bad option if you are looking for a thunderstorm app but the timing on the lights isn’t the greatest and they are slow to come on and off (this could be a hardware limitation) and for 3.99 a bit expensive for how simple there should be a way to do a slider for how far the storm is like 0 miles -10 miles Also give you the 3D experience like on the main hue app you can put in where in your room the lights for audio sync that would be a good addition to this app to make it worth the 3.99

Great app - one small thing that could be improved. I am a huge fan of thunderstorms. They relax me, calm me, help me sleep. This app is absolutely wonderful for that and I find myself using it frequently to calm down and recharge. It's quite accurate and produces a beautiful sound and effects that actually make me think there's a storm right overhead. The ONLY thing that could improve this app would be some ability to specify devices or remove devices from using the lightning flashes. It's a little odd if you have a light low to the ground flashing or a desktop lamp that does it. Other than that this is one of the very few apps that I've purchased where I absolutely feel I got my moneys worth. Great job!!! I was so impressed I purchased the remainder of your Hue apps. Haven't tested them out much as of yet though.

Can’t redirect sounds to HomePods. This is such an amazing app. I love to use this when i want to sleep or relax in bed. However i can’t seem to redirect the sound to my Apple homepods. When i select it nothing plays at all. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I see the option is available but it doesn’t seem to work for me. If this is a bug then i hope it gets fixed soon. This would sound a lot better playing on my homepod vs the iphone speaker.

Love it!. I have hue lights throughout my home but I use the light strip behind the headboard of my bed and at the bottom of the footboard for this app. I set my iPhone 7 Plus to a good volume, pick one of the scenes, and set the sleep timer to 30 minutes. I’m always asleep before the time is up. This is so soothing and relaxing.

Favorite Hue App. This is now my favorite Hue App. Would be even better if it had a few things - 1. Support for Sonos - right now I'm running this thru an iPad that's being airplanes to an Apple TV. Would be awesome if I could bypass the AirPlay and play this straight on one of my Sonos speakers. 2. IFTTT / or Hue Device support - not sure how this would work exactly, especially with the sound. But would be awesome to program a Flic button or a Hue Tap to start a favorite scene with both the sound being sent to the Sonos speaker and animation playing on preset lights (e.g., Bathroom only) Keep up the great work! Hope to see some more animations in the future!

Really cool. The lightning is very realistic. My only complaint is I can’t turn off the mood lighting completely. Even on the dimmest setting the lights are a bit too bright to fall asleep to.

Favorite Hue App. This is my favorite Hue App so far. The sound and lighting effects are really well synced. I especially like the rainforest thunderstorm. In a room with 4 Hue lights it puts on a great show! And it does not seem to go through a predictable "cycle" even after hours of listening/watching. Highly recommend this app.

Phenomenal. Absolutely incredible app. I was looking for something that could simulate a thunderstorm and this app does exactly that with extremely high quality. Looks like some real production value went into this. With the sound of the rain and thunder being broadcast over my surround sound via Bluetooth, the effect is even more awesome. Can't wait to see what future updates have in store! Easiest $3 I've spent.

Fails to mention bridge required. The app may be good, but with no hue bridge, it doesn't do anything with your lights

Almost perfect. Really awesome app. Couple suggestion/fixes 1. Deeper thunder/more bass is needed 2. Customizable colors needs some tweaking/explanation. It’s not readily clear how to adjust individual lights so I can make the scene darker. Also, the lights on the lowest setting on the slider don’t seem to actually be the darkest these lights can go. Overall great app, will change to five stars if I can see those changes!

Fun and relaxing app. I usually don’t buy apps but took a chance on this one after installing our new color hue bulbs. It is great to relax and fall asleep to. I use it in the bath and bedroom and my husband liked it too. It’s oddly calming on the softer settings and because everything is customizable you can make it as soft and serene or as loud and crazy as you like. I imagine it would be fun with kids as well during Halloween, playing pretend camping at home, or just to cuddle on the couch while reading.

Almost perfect. The best thunder/lightning app I’ve used for hue. My one request would be for the light(s) to turn off when the timer is done instead of staying on. I made an awesome thunder cloud out of a large plastic water bottle, synthetic pillow filling, and 3 hue lights. Would love to fall asleep to to thunder and lightning using the timer, but my room is lit up after the timer is done.

Works, Neat for a while, Creates “phantom” light that shows in other apps.. App is pretty neat. The effects are cool with a Bluetooth speaker so the sound is more full. It was fun for 5-10 mins but the novelty wore off quickly. The app created a “phantom” room or entertainment area or something on the hue bridge called “ThunderG” which I can find no way to remove. It appears on all Hue-supporting apps (including on our Vivint panel… annoying) except the official Hue app. I can find no way to delete it except completely factory resetting the Hue hub. Worst of all somehow the ThunderG room has been turning on randomly during the day for us despite it not being used in our automations. This continues to happen even after removing the app from my phone so I don’t think it’s specific to the app itself, but it certainly never happened until we tried this app… Now I’ve got to figure out how to fix it because we keep getting woken up at 3am when the lights turn on.

Ensure your neighbor doesn't get your pizza!. This app is so cool, every light in my house is Hue and this App makes me so glad they are. Being someone who loves thunder storms it is so awesome to choose a setting and kick back to read a book in the middle of a storm or just fall to sleep. Also, having placed a Hue white on my porch outside. Last night I ordered a pizza from a new pizza place and their driver was really new. I chose a thunderstorm, increased the frequency and told the driver to look for the flashing light:-) Driver thought it was hilarious and couldn't stop talking about it, said it really made it easier to know what house he was delivering too.

Phenomenal app but!!!. This is a very good app. But my only complaint is that when you're done using this app it does not restore lights back to the original seen when you first started. A lot a good apps do that. Maybe they could tweak this app with another version?

Very immersive. The thunderstorm experience is so well done! I bought this app expecting it to be an entertaining gimmick, but it's genuinely enjoyable and not just novel. It's relaxing to have it on in the background. I have Hue bulbs and Sonos speakers throughout most of my home. This app makes my whole home feel like there's a thunderstorm going on outside, it's very immersive.

Delivers an amazing experience. As promised this app delivers. Finally a thunderstorm app that does it all right. Well worth paying for. I especially like playing the sounds on Bluetooth over my sound bar. I tried all the scenes and there's a sense of being there when you listen to the city scenes. Very well done.

Great value. Clever app.. A lot of fun and could be quite relaxing. For an inexpensive app, it's a five star. My top wish is that there was a lightning on command button. I think that would be the biggest and easiest crowd-pleasing feature to implement. Nitpicky comments: As other reviewers have said, there could be some more settings for tweaking the lightning-thunder time delay (I usually want less time, not more like some others), and I'd like the ability to make lightning even more frequent than the current max. Only other "complaint" is that there are sometimes flashes without accompanying thunder sound. This is certainly realistic to life when sometimes you see lightning but don't hear thunder. But is mildly unsatisfying to me. With the app, I'd want a perfect 1:1 correspondence between lightning and thunder. Otherwise, it's a great idea and a very good implementation of it. I love Hue Disco too by the same developer. Makes owning Hue Lights a real delight.

Really awesome effects. You got the lights and sounds to be very realistic and well timed. My only suggestion is it would be nice if you could choose if a light were ambient, lightening or both. I have uplights on some plants and it's weird when they flash lightening. And I have tall lamps and it's really cool when they flash lightening.

Cool app, missing feature. Part of the reason why I got the Hue is to be able to voice control with my google home. I can cast the audio to my google Home so I paid for the app and don’t use it. It is nice if I blue tooth to another speaker, but it defeats the reason I got it.

Stormy night for our Halloween. We use this app to create a storm on our front porch… And even positioned other hue lights in the windows all the way around the side of her house last night during Halloween. I know there is a Halloween app too, but we wanted the stormy weather, not the creeks and groans and ghostly sounds. It worked great! We even put a “Hue Go” lamp into a large planters pot that looks like a cauldron. That, Some dry ice, and some plastic trays made the best candy hand-out tray we have ever used!! The rotating colors and occasional flash of light with the lightning really made it a hit!

Love this but.... Please put a seizure warning on flashy apps/effects. Some of us have photosensitive seizures

Best app for Hue lights. Talk about a home run of awesome. Paired with a bose speaker this is unbelievable in my bedroom. Way to knock it out of the park guys. Please make more!!! And I don’t hate the idea of having a video play through my Apple TV while this is going on.

Amazing (for a while). This is an amazing app. The effect is incredible, especially if you’re using multiple lights in the ceiling. I’ve run this at parties and people really love it. There’s one problem though, and it appears to be recent. The sound runs continually but the actual lighting effects freeze up after about 30 minutes. I entertain frequently and want this effect running throughout the night. It’s a quick fix. You just have to pause it and play it again, but when you have a home full of people it’s easy to forget. If they could fix this so it can run continually I’d change my rating to 5 stars. Edit: Issue still isn’t fixed despite update. Some background noise keeps going but the lights still freeze. I’ve tested it on every scene. Works for 30 minutes tops.

No more trouble sleeping. This is one amazing app. If you have Philips Hue lights, a HomePod, and you have trouble falling asleep, this is the app for you. Hue Thunder is amazing to relax with.. Hue Thunder is very immersive and it can transform my bedroom. I love it. Highly recommend. Hopefully they are still releasing updates for Hue Thunder.

I love it. I’ve seen a lot of the apps that say they work with hue lights but alot of the reviews seem to say these apps are really shady and don’t work well with lights or other reasons so I have been hesitant to buy any until this one. I used to put on a 12 hour YouTube video of thunderstorms but when I found this app it replaced the YouTube videos immediately. I like this app because you can customize alot of the setting like how loud you want the thunder, rain, wind individually and how often you want thunder strikes and even the brightness of the lightning or sky on your hue lights. I find this app is great for those that like to sleep to thunderstorms. I connect my phone to my surround sound via Bluetooth and then only turn on my hue strip behind my tv so it gives just enough light to look like lightning coming from a window. Ever since I’ve bought it this is now my nightly routine. Personally I would like to see a bit more customization with the thunderstorm scenes. As it stands you can set the “occurrence” of thunder strikes but even turning it all the way up doesn’t necessarily mean there are alot of thunder sounds. I think the app does a good job of mixing small and medium and big lightning strikes in together randomly but I’d like to see a setting that allows a certain number of lightning strikes and thunder sounds per minute or something like that. All in all it’s a good app. It offers 17 scenes ranging from weather to city things and rain forests. In the future I hope they branch out to soundscapes like ambient forest or wolves howling during s full moon or even whale singing. But aside from my future hopes of the app, great for helping you sleep to thunderstorms with your hue lights! Haven’t had a problem with the lights and the app working together since I bought it!

Realistic and fun. Okay, I have finally found an app for my Hue that is cool. The realism of the sound and lighting combination amazing. Great combination of technology to produce a experience I can enjoy. Good job.

Well done. If you enjoy the sound of a summer thunderstorm you will love this app. The built in delay correction when streaming to Airplay or Bluetooth speakers sets this app above the rest.

Could be better. Overall I like this app, but I hardly ever use it. The reason is very simple; it’s a pain in the butt to start it up. You have to tap the button on the bridge to get the app to work with your system. If it was just the one time to get it set up , fine, but you have to do it every single time you open the app. That means you have to have the bridge in a REALLY convenient place, or you have to settle for the app being more difficult than it’s worth. It’s because of this issue that I have not bothered to try any of the other Hue apps. had I known about this issue, I would not have bothered with this app in the first place

Not worth it :(. Read the description of the app and the timer so you can use it to fall asleep. Sadly the lights are ALWAYS on. The sky can't be set to off, which is horrible. Want the bulbs to be off until a lightning strike. Edit: Also tried the timer, it turns off the app but leaves the bulbs on :(

Crashes on iPhone 7+. Really cool for about 4 minutes, and then the app crashes. Hopefully I get a response before I have to ask Apple for a refund.

Crashes After A Few Minutes. Just paid for this app and after about five to ten minutes, the app crashes and all lights are in whatever color they were at the moment of disconnect. Unhappy! This app had some potential. Now I just want a refund or a fix. You all should incorporate LIFX as well for a future update.
