No functional no support. I’m disabled and bought this app because I have limited use of my hands and had high hopes. As of right now it’s doing the exact same thing that it does if I were to not use the app. Every 60 seconds or so it just stops. I paid for the upgrade for the year and I don’t know what I paid for. If you click on the contact button it does nothing. It’s broken. You go nowhere. So so far I am unable to contact anyone to get help and it’s not working. I would like somebody to just contact me so I can get help. The reviews seem to state that this is a good app, so I’m guessing something is just going wrong for me. And I don’t know why the contact link leads nowhere. I need help.

Most productive ever. Sitting at my computer is painstaking. Having an idea however, and having an accurate means of getting that idea down using dictation is priceless. I can easily speak 1,000 words in 15-20 minutes and be done for the day. Or I can sit at my computer and spend 4 hours hashing out the same number of words with my eyes ready to bug out from staring at the screen. I will say it’s not a hundred percent, but it will learn your speech and hit 80% regularly. I’ll never stop using this app.

Writing A Book!. When I write, I love to listen to music to keep myself in a flow state, but as soon as I begin recording the music shuts off. I have Beats Solo 3 to listen to my music while I write. If we use headphones, which doesn’t interfere with the microphone on the phone, I was hoping to be able to dictate in that way so I could get a better word count, and my books finished faster. This is an issue I wish every dictation program addressed. Access to the microphone shouldn’t impede on whether I can use headphones to listen to music while I write. I’m rating this a 2 ⭐️ for right now until this issue is fixed.

Super Program. This allows me to dictate my notes in the car and then paste them later through my apple notes to my computer paperwork. It has saved time and allowed me to see more patients while completing the charting in a timely manner. It allows pauses and puts in the punctuation when you say “comma”, “period”, etc. You can copy and send to just about anywhere. Only a little correction is needed for medical terminology.

New to the app but so far 100% satisfied. I just downloaded the app and seem to be 100% satisfied! As time is of essence for me and voice texting is much easier than having to type anything up, this dictation app seems to do the job! I was surprised to find out it also will translate from English to another another language. This will help translate info to pt’s who don’t speak English. So far, so good

Best dictation app I have ever used. And I have used all kinds of dictation apps going back to Via Voice (IBM). Remember that one? Since IBM took VV off the market, Dragon/Nuance has always been the standard bearer, and their products were always good (except for tech support) , but this app is far superior. Works great on iOS/iPADOS/MACOS. Accuracy is remarkable. Corrections done super easy, usually only very minor ones are needed. Customizable UI. Apple share sheet gets you into Messages, Mail, Files app, Notes, you name it. Incredibly fast. Huge increase in my productivity. Try it for free…you’ll see what I mean. Also extremely affordable with flexible payment plans if you decide to buy after the initial free usage. I have tried all the apps currently available….this one is head and shoulders above all the rest.

No longer do you need to let your fingers do the talking!!!. When I found that I could talk my way instead of doing what all young do with their fingers, I being very old could be faster, better and with more fun accomplish what I needed to say! Yes there are a few mistakes, but the I use it the more it learns how I think and finish a sentence correctly! Thank you to the people who have made a great way to tell a story! I tell a lot about a fabulous life I’ve led!!!

Horrible: core functionality missing. When you select text, the application does not give you the option to delete your selected text—which is a very basic command in ALL applications. Which is a huge inconvenience. The only option is to clear the entire dictation message. What planet is this developer on that built this app??? This is common sense that the user needs to “delete text.” The standard edit option to change the color of your dictation text is missing also. The voice detection should be more accurate.

Problem solved. If you want to write but when you start on your laptop you seem to get stuck because your ideas are faster then you type. Then this is the app for you. You talk and it writes for you and then you just upload to where ever you want. It’s awesome. I use English and Spanish. Works great. Pay for it. Your driving and you can put your words in writing. No transcribing voice to letters. BEST APP EVER.

Alfredo gomez. I think it’s great. My wife is deaf andYou say it every day to speak with the accuracy is much better than Siri. Know if you can go to the doctor by herself. Many doctors are used to dictating so if they like it. Do you need to provide the product better because a lot of people don’t know about it. I am doing my best to tell others

Stops working after a couple of sentences why?. I couldn’t figure out where the support is.. unfortunately I have to give a rating sorry and hope someone will answer/help.. The dictation red lamp is blinking, but after a couple of sentences there are no more writing on the screen, is this app only for Twitter length? When I click on “dictate button” again, I get commercial for to install grammar keyboard. Is this necessary and do I have to watch advertise for products every time I do one recording? Is the grammar keyboard for to speak in punctuations etc? Help!

Help for the Deaf!. I recently lost my hearing and I'm deaf in both ears. I like your app for one on one conversations. Having extra people in the room makes it difficult because this app picks up everything, including my voice. Only one person can speak at a time. Now I need to find an app that will work with my iPhone so I can do phone calls. I could not find one on your website and this surprised me. I hav not been able to figure out how to save or share a file. I've tried over and over but instructions are lacking.

Awesome. I am a medical professional and use Dragon at work. I love Dragon and dictate all my notes. As like many medical people I seldom get done on time. I had downloaded Dragon on my phone and it worked OK. But it stopped working and then I was stuck going in to work on weekends to get caught up. Now with this I dictate, it goes directly to my secure work email. Monday morning I spend a few minutes copying and pasting and I am done!

The editing needs improvemn. The editing needs improvement. Otherwise app is very good. The app is superior in comparison to other dictation apps I used before. The app should have more commands supporting editing. I like the app very much, however manual erasing and deleting unwanted words or sentences is slowing me down. I would love a commend to delete the last word for example, scratch it or something like that. I use the app because the price is very good and it recognizes my speech well. However, they need to add the command to delete at least the last word or sentence.

Met my expectations, great app with scope for improvement. I am using this tool for an hour now and I already did a good 1000 words. Few issues I found using this app was inability to edit while recording (I feel if you just provide a backspace on the editor) and ads are not annoying at all. They come and go. Man has to eat! I wish if you can configure your AdWords in a way that display relevant ones. I think the setup should ask a few optional questions, and create a persona (like a profile) and show those types of ads. You need to mine your customers and and try to understand who are they and why are they using your app? I am sure you are doing these, if not, consider them. Thanks

Surprising good. Even though this app apparently uses the Apple translation service, it seems to be a bit better than the Apple dictation option, although I don’t know why it should be better. In any case the layout and use is clear and straightforward. I like the way that you can upload your file directly into your email app. It would be nice if I could also directly upload into my word processing app, rather than having to copy and paste.

If you are bilingual in English and Spanish this is ur app!!. Well as a bilingual person who is fluent in English and Spanish . Finding a good dictation app that is great quality on taking dictation in Spanish for on documents and later choose another document to take dictation on English it is hard to find. It also affordable better than others I had try.

Good, but there is an annoyance. Pro user here. I’ve been dealing with this for months now, but I want my voice to be heard. The clear and edit button should be at the bottom replacing copy and send. There is no point to the copy button. The app copies automatically. And it’s much quicker to double press or swipe over (or manually open) you’re messaging app to paste what you have dictated, than to send from within the app. At least give us the option to customize which buttons go where. Reaching for clear and edit every time (plus those buttons are smaller than the bottom ones) is a hassle and has been an “annoyance“ since I’ve started using this app. Don’t get me wrong, the dictation abilities are miles ahead of Siri and I want to use this app every single time I message someone, but you gotta make it a little more accessible please.

Great app. The voice recognition is about as good as Dragon home version though a fraction of the cost. Additionally there are the advantages of portability over the desktop version of Dragon. Main gripe is that editing doesn’t work with my Bluetooth keyboard on the iPad, and it would be great if you could dictate directly into wherever your desired destination is. The user interface is extremely intuitive though, easy to learn, and the ability to dictate lengthy chunks of text is a game changer. Also syncs between iPhone and iPad automatically.

Good but could be better. I use this app to show me the words people speak to me because I’m hearing impaired. Unfortunately it’s not always perfect and sometimes puts the wrong words. embarrassingly even sometimes uses words of explicit foul language that the people did not even say those words but the voice recognition technology has mistaken what was said. I wish there was a filter that could be turned on to censure the words chosen by the app so bad words would not show up in the text. Thanks!

App freezes and cannot be rebooted. I purchased this app only 24 hours ago, but have used it for several hours. There is an intermittent bug that causes the program to freeze. In each instance, I was still able to email my dictation to myself so the work was not lost. However, the program would not restart. A black box, inside the red record button, flashed slowly and touching the record button had no effect. There was no way of rebooting the program. I shut down my system, tried all the software controls, even changed languages (purely out of frustration)...nothing worked. A nice program when it works. An inexpensive app. It just cannot be relied on, which makes a good program a source of frustration.

Love the app, but.... I love this app. It is enabling me to get a huge amount of work done quickly. I do have a wish list: wish I could delete; i wish I could insert; wish it was better with punctuation. Did figure out that I can say period and a period will appear. Not long after I was doing some stream of consciousness about becoming a woman. It led to some confusion in editing, LOL.

It’s okay.. While I believe that I enunciate well enough, there a barrage of misspelled or completely misinterpreted words. Very frustrating when you’re trying to dictate a novel and it’s going to be hours before you get to actually sit in front of a computer and try to decipher what it is that you were saying. And considering that I dictated all of this with my phone, not in the app, and all of these words and phrases were transcribed correctly, it’s not the phone.

Using the dictate app. I’m used to using dragon so this one was unfamiliar to me. I found that it would not go to the next line when I told it to NorWould it put a number instead of writing it out for me. I also found it difficult to figure out where it was saving to however I did finally figure it out. It hears really well so I was pleased with that. Overall I would say it’s a very good app

App. This is the best app for dictation which requires scientific terms. It is easy to use. It makes some mistakes with scientific terminology but is better than the other apps. I have tried thirteen other apps and this is the best app. It is expensive compared to most other speech to text apps. However the large cost of this appto me is worth the price. For simple dictation, choose the free or inexpensive apps. For more sponistictated dictation I recommend this one. The Apple app is good but I believe that this one is better. I can easily send the finished dictation to Word etc.

Good app with problematic flaws. This app lets you dictate indefinitely, which is fantastic. The downsides are: 1. If the dictation is incorrect, the blue lines under suspect words are not present the way they are in Apple dictation which means that instead of tapping on the word or phrase to fix it, you have to stop dictation, then tap on the edit button, then scan through for errors, then fix them, then tap on the edit button again, then start dictation over again. 2. The interface is old and clunky. 3. You can dictate only in this app, then transfer the dictation to the app of your choice. This is fairly easy, just another step.

Great help. The app is not perfect, but earns five stars because of its price, ease of use and being to export files. You can watch the text as you speak and it is easy to make corrections and then start taking again. I have used a service before where you upload a file and get the text back. This is more accurate.

Works great. At the age of 75, I took a bad fall and busted up my left hand. I was focused on finishing several books I am writing, and not being able to type this software was a godsend. It works quite well, but it is not perfect. When I dictated the initials of the National Security Agency it typed “in SA”. But I would say it is better than 99% accurate and most of the mistakes are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Solves a big problem. My husband endures severe hearing issues, as well as other major issues. He had surgery for two serious cancers on his head in July, but, due to his age, he was hospitalized for months and even now has a caregiver. My stepson suggested this app and it is wonderful. Instead of the frustrating yelling, scribbling on note pads and lack of communication, we now type in and send a message that this poor old guy can understand. More folks should know about this app.

It's my go-to dictation app. Period.. I had some issues with it crashing during dictation in earlier versions, so I abandoned it. But about a year later, I checked again. They fixed everything, at least what I used. The UI looks great and the voice recognition is pretty tight. Good job, folks. You're back in the number one slot!

Easy to use. I have used this app for several courses in conversations and it has been incredibly easy to use and sends into a word processing software every single time. It’s excellent for brainstorming on a walk, recording an important conversation, or just capturing the lectures conversations and notes happening around you. I would order it up again.

Dictation app - time saver. This app saves me a lot of time. I’ll dictate my notes and then copy/send them to my email to keep on file.... and print later. It’s a great app for dictating things like where I have various shop tools and small parts stored, or where I have important files to let my wife and kids know. It’s so easy to edit words that aren’t in the dictionary. I use the app at least weekly.

Types. What it wants to. Could be a good program if you did not put it in words that you don’t say types what it wants to do when nobody’s talking and wouldn’t not try to auto correct all the time. It high never say the word seri, but he always wants to put Siri down. I am not sure if it is the program constantly misunderstanding what is being said or if Radio is the iPad itself in capable of working properly. It screws up most of the time. Picks up half the words and half of those words are incorrect.

Great app and customer support. I have the paid version and have been encountering some issues. I contacted support and they have given me wonderful support, and in a very timely manner. As it turns out, some of the problems were due to my (sometimes) intermittent internet connection and some were due to my being unfamiliar with some of the settings of the app. All resolved, and a happy customer.

Dictate. Using the program on my iPa pro to dictate the titles, authors in my extensive library. Considering out many of the authors have very difficult names to dictate, the program does a very good job of transferring my English (from England) into the document. Using the Pro version I then email it to myself after correcting the errors in the authors names. Well worth while purchasing this program.

Works much better than OCR.. I’ve been using this app to transcribe a large number of letters, some typed and some handwritten. The error rate is good, generally less than 5%. With a couple of OCR programs I was getting error rates on the order of 20% on typed copy, and somewhat higher on longhand items. There are some recurring, and now predictable, errors such substituting “the” for “a” about half the time, and rarely recognizing “of” as a word— “if” can be a problem, too. Must have difficulty with labial fricatives! And there are some others that tend to recur, such as not recognizing “Open parentheses, Parenthesis, or Close parentheses” as valid punctuation commands…but it does a good job of recognizing the words, and spelling them correctly! As an annoyance, it’s relatively minor… Overall, I’m happy with its performance, but there’s still room for improvement. It appears to use an AI engine for next-word prediction, but the engine is not as intelligent as it should be…not yet ready to take over the world!

Reasonable price and easy to use. . I tried Dragon in text past but the voice recognition here is better. i was able to quickly download and start using this app. I soon realized “new paragraph” is a useful verbal cue. While I could make my drafts better by using the help guide, it is very user friendly and I had the basics I needed on first try. I do wish there was a way to store files in the app, but exporting them works since that’s the ultimate goal anyway.

Best dictation I have found. I'm writing this review because the app won't stop reminding me to do it. This is the best text to speech app that I have ever used. I have paid over $10 per app for multiple apps. I wanted to buy Dragon naturally speaking, but I use a Mac and they don't sell the software for that anymore. It is helpful to have an app like this where I can speak my thoughts. I use it for texting sometimes. That's really it. I really like the app. Sometimes it adds either a letter or word at the end of the paragraph that I have spoken.

This Dictation app is a revelation!. For too long I’d been misusing my smartphone and my laptop at the expense of my hands, wrists and shoulders. I'm addressing those physical problems, but in the meantime I’ve been using and recommending this DICTATION app to clients and friends for some time now. Eg a client who had a shoulder accident and surgery is so grateful. The DICTATION app is far far better than other dictation system I've tried. No comparison. Worth well worth the price. Learning curve. When you start climbing the octogenarian ladder-as I have, new challenges seem to await you. At least that’s been my experience so far. As a result, I seem to bound almost instantly to most new things that I don’t have to struggle with very much. This app is new to me at this time but I am enjoying it and the learning curve is not too challenging. Now that’s a rather nice day for a ole chap like me. Carpe Diem.

Life saver. I needed something to help me take minutes and I don’t want to spend time cleaning the Teams transcript. I had brain surgery and cannot type as fast anymore with my left hand so this is a life saver for me be abuse I have to take minutes and I can’t type as fast and using this makes it a piece of cake now granted there’s still some editing required but not too extensive

Great for transcribing, but be careful.. Warning: if you use this app, you must turn off the iCloud support, otherwise you risk losing everything. And, if you have multiple devices linked to the iCloud, you must turn them all off of iCloud support. I lost a half a dozen large transcriptions because of this problem before we discovered it. Otherwise, this thing is great. Who can complain for a dollar a month? It has saved me hours of typing, and has given me an opportunity to use exercise time to “write.”

Best Dictation to Text App by far. This is the best dictation to text app that I have tried and I have tried many of them. It is more accurate and clever at understanding punctuation as you go than others plus it has a few keys visible while dictating that can help control punctuation. It is well worth the annual fee. I highly recommend it. You can export your dictated text to other iPhone apps plus cut and paste to do the same thing if you prefer. It is simple to use and has a simple user interface but the results are great.

Transcribes voice accurately. A few features would make this perfect. First, if I could use this in tandem with a document writing program, such as Word. Second, if there was a word count somewhere on screen. Lastly, if there were more clear directions for getting the text into the various document writers. Copying and pasting isn’t alway ideal and it can make formatting a pain. Also, I’d like to see Thai added to language options. I didn’t see it. I speak Thai, but am not literate. My family speaks Thai on my wife’s side. I would like to be able to speak to write in order to talk to family.

Very accurate “live” closed captioning for deaf/hard of hearing.. I use this app in meetings and pass around a Bluetooth microphone. Dictates speech to text pretty close to 100% accuracy in most settings. Very pleased with how it’s working so far. Suggest to allow connections to multiple Bluetooth microphones as a feature. Thanks again for creating this and excellent customer service earlier today!

Used it twice and had to purchase!. I’ve been working on a project with tons of notes This app has given me a great boost in productivity. I appreciate the ability to send text to a variety of apps as well as the copy/paste feature. It would be helpful to allow us to edit existing text before continuing with the dictation. The save to notes option helps as you can switch to that app for editing.

App shows a menu of supported speech languages but some of the desired language cannot be selected. I previously wrote a negative (2*) preview because after i purchased the Pro Version, I tried to set the app to do the voice-to-text in the language i selected but did not see any button or a box to confirm the selected language beside the “Dismiss” option. But after a few tries, I realized that after I selected “Setup” to choose the speech recognition language, I just needed to select “Dismiss” to go back to the interface where I can start the voice-to-text process by tapping on the red button at the bottom of the screen and just said a few words in the previously set language and saw that the speech is being transcribed in that set language. I wish there were some instructions guiding the user on how to set up the app to do the v-to-t in that language. Thus, the 4 stars instead of 5 ones.

IOS 15 problems. This is a great app in that there’s not limit to what I can dictate, it never stops “listening” when I pause to think, and I can easily email my writing to myself as a back-up. The latest update, however, is a lot less accurate. Mid-sentence capitalization, missed spacing, and an increase in misspelled words means my editing time has doubled. The IBN software team tells me this is an issue with Apple’s text to speech and not their app, so while I’ll still use it, I can’t whole-heartedly recommend it. I’ll adjust my review if the problems get ironed out in a subsequent update. I’m an author who dictates 4K+ words per day.

Chief. This is a pretty intuitive app and fairly decisive. if it would be nice if you could correct mistakes by voice as you dictate so that you didn’t have to proofread later. But, I know that it more than likely have to be a full blown dictation software server like the dragon dictation software and would be very expensive. I used the dragon app for a good while until they started charging the monthly fee. This app will do everything the dragon app would do and just as good. 👍👍

My Review. I impressed with this app. with their program. It is far more accurate than the Dragon dictation program, for which I paid far more over the years while Dictate is far easier to use. I can’t the hours I wasted in “training” their program and putting it a lot of writing for analysis. You guys gotta beat them easily.

Mixed performance. Started off well on day one. A few errors but that’s understandable. Day two - it couldn’t keep up and lost some info I was compiling for a blog. Not reliable and a few glitches need to be ironed out to make this a good app.

Shockingly inaccurate. Tried using this app to transcribe standard audio interviews. The app couldn’t keep up with normal conversation speed and I had to go back and manually type in about 95% of the audio. Very poor quality.

Rare for me to give 5 stars but this app just works. For last 2 years ive used this with super accurate results. Ive used most of the other dictating apps out there , this beats them all hands down, including google’s which is rubbish.

Use it daily. I love this app. I use it daily and have done for a long time. I have the paid version also. I use it so often I depend on it, but it’s got a few small issues I was hoping you might have time to please look at? - I’m not sure why but recently it keeps glitching and erasing changes made and taking it back to version from 5 mins ago for example. Also anytime it is minimised to bring up other screen it loses all the changes made. - It’s also having issues when saying “new line” of inserting text from last sentence or so and no going to new line. - The 3 screens that can have different languages etc, if both English ( Like USA and British flags) they copy each other sometimes you lose the other text. - When you bring up other app or its interrupted say ti look up spelling of a word, it automatically assumes you want to start a new sentence and makes word start with capital letter, can this be turned off?? - Finally, is there a way it could have an auto save function for say the last 10 things written as I often write things and then want to use again but if I don’t at the time export to notes and save in other app I have to start again. That would be super handy if possible. - Keeps crashing and not saving, dejecting text - When saying “new line” it always comes up with three words instead. Thank you

Not all that helpful for dyslexics. Great disappointment for me... This app was suggested as a great additive tool for dyslexia. But unfortunately, it is not. It doesn’t pick up every word. Or most words, when someone is talking, whether me or if I’m having trouble understanding a whilst sentence of my lecturer (1 of many dyslexic moment for me). It barely picked up anything from his recording. And he was very clear :(

Not performing as intended. There is no option to save or retain the voice recording for transcription at a later date. Whilst the initial live transcript is ok, on the occasion where the decoded media was transcribed I found it capture content with a higher level of accuracy. Would like the option to save audio file. Also the transcript is continuous without or very minimal punctuation. It would be a great feature if the app could recognise different voices and at least start transcription on a new paragraph

Great value. Can’t believe I paid $400 for a competitor product that’s not half as easy or effective. This is a great way of managing arthritis or RSI.

My review. Excellent app. I speak English with an accent and this app has no problems with my speech. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for this sort of app.

Don’t download. The voice recognition is clunky at best. The app crashes if you’re dictating anything longer than a sentence, and even if you manage to get used to this sorry excuse of an app it will eventually expire on you and ask for money in order to use it. A big no thanks 😡

Effective but not ideal. Happy enough but it doesn’t correct well and help manual is limited.

Works well. Works well, recommended to upgrade to pro as ads annoying. Accurate dictation, however not easy to edit document through command function or delete small part of document at a time. Is there something obvious that I am missing? Otherwise would give it a 5

Problems. Have used the pro version for over a year and after the last update text enlargement does not keep its setting. Have tried reinstall but not fixed. Really frustrating Richard

So simple. Easy to use hassle free. A must have for people who can’t put pen to pen but are good at just talking.

Good word to text.. Very good. But can it also save the audio so that text and audio can be sent?

Excellent dictation app. Very accurate, very rarely have to edit what is said. Saves so much time and effort, just sit back and speak and your voice is transformed into text. No more typing those long tedious reports, speeches and emails. Love it.

I Like it!. After many years of buying expensive software that was slow and inaccurate this is a breathe of fresh air! I realise that is probably just a skin that is tapping into Apple cloud software, but hey, it works. Accuracy is very good (and when it fails is often because I was lazy and didn’t use good articulation). I like that I can email the end work to myself (possibly because I decided to buy the annual subscription for a little over $20). Thumbs up! Michael

Incredible technology. What an amazing app. Makes my life so much easier. When I think about typing a long text message and the time that can take, Dictate is my shortcut. Also great for ideas that come to mind when I’m on the run. Love it!

Worthwhile. I’m a truck driver who drives interstate in Australia. The trucks I drive are quite noisy, and it’s hard to get microphones that will properly clear background noise at the level you have in busy environments in typical heavy vehicles in Australia. This app is quite good at getting dictation right, and is intuitive to use. I’d recommend for anybody. It’s certainly important for truckies to not have to touch their phones whilst drinking; so this gets 5 stars.

Needs more than 3 pages. I held off buying it becuase it is an expensive app. For $21 I would expect to be able to have more than 3 dictations on the go at once. I am often in the middle of composing 5 or more letters at once and need more than three. I would give more stars if lower price and more pages. The app works well. Developers, thanks for the response but you misunderstand, I would like more than three seperate dictations to use at once if possibleeg, A,B,C, D.....Also the “cut” function under edit lost a whole letter and doesn’t work properly. Need to always use “copy” instead otherwise the work is lost. Thankyou

Awesome for lecture notes!. This app is a life-saver for lecture note transcription! Very accurate, and you can go back and watch the lectures to do some touch ups after it’s done. Highly recommend!

Accurate!. When I updated my iPhone to ios15., the app stopped working. However, I’m very pleased that the most recent app update has fixed the problem, and it’s now better than ever! The voice recognition accuracy beats all the others hands-down

Awesome. Been using since inception getting better with each update . Fast . I can read and check as I dictate . Recognises difficult words ( technical in my field of work ) if I add them to my contacts list . I’ve tried them all this is my favourite . Developer very receptive to feedback and improvements . Switches off mid text. Does anyone know why this turns off while I am using it. Very annoying having paid for the pro version. Can anyone help. I have updated it recently.

Geoff at Mildura. An excellent app for keeping notes and documenting events as they happen. Simple to use and relatively accurate in recording the spoken word. Any misspelt words are easy to edit.

Help for dyslexic. It is an Ideal app to use for a dyslexic person like me. And what’s even better is that it understands my accent – 10 out of 10.

Good app overall. This app is good overall-gets around the iPhone’s inbuilt 30sec dictation limit, however on my iPhone 7, it only works for 2min. When the the phone goes to sleep at 2 min, then the dictation stops so I still have to restart it. This is not good as I want to use it while driving. Your description says unlimited dictation but I cant seem to do that. Is there anything that can be done? Also would be great to customise the dictionary with technical words used in my work. Frustrated with Family sharing. Bought this app the other day and I also thought it would be good for my son to use via family sharing. He can only access the free version full of adds. It will not accept his Apple ID when he tries to restore purchase. Would like this issue resolved please.

Diactation OK but app unstable. Would be happy to give 4 or 5 stars however app seems to drop out quite regularly. Whilst most of the dictation is automatically saved, still need to repeat at least the last sentence if I notice when it drops out.

Better than Siri – accuracy is pretty good. I’ve used dragon and a range of other Voicerecognition products over the years and have been searching for something that I can use on my phone . Dictate works really well. It’s recognition is at a high percentage and it’s easy to copy and paste into a document.

Great dictate app for my Greek neighbour. I was helping my elderly neighbour subscribe to the Dictate app and ran into some issues in the beginning. Christian from Dictate help desk was very helpful in resolving it eventually. My neighbour is now so pleased to be able to record in Greek and sent it off as a text to his Greek relatives. He is a happy man!

Review. While using app I have had to put up with loads of ads then when I starting getting some great use out of it got hit up for more money to send what I wanted to use. That sucked.

The App is improving. I’ve been using this for a while now. It’s still hard compared to the old Dragon talk to text software. It still doesn’t seem to learn my talk patterns, and I am often correcting mistakes...having said this, I use it often! I’m looking forward to new updates an improvements! Good job!!

Great app and it’s free:-). I’ve used this app a dozen or so times and been really happy with it as it’s so easy to use and has pretty good accuracy.

Great App!. Really happy with this app. The price is very reasonable compared to others and it works really well. I find it gets my words correct most of the time and if not it’s because I’m not speaking loud enough. It’s so handy for me as I do a lot of intuitive work and need to keep focused on receiving info rather than writing down and breaking the focus.

Pende Hawter. The App was initially working when I bought it, but then after several days the microphone wouldn’t work to allow dictation. I sent in a review about this and received the advice below: “Thanks for your review. Please review 2 important settings in your system settings! "Enable Dictation" in Settings->General->Keyboard and ensure to grant "Speech Recognition" and "Microphone" in Settings->Dictate. This solved the problem for other users." This does allow the App to work, but I normally have ‘Siri & Dictation’ blocked under Restrictions for personal reasons, which doesn’t allow me to Enable Dictation because it no longer appears under Keyboard, therefore I can’t dictate. Is there a way around this?

Ok. Needs improvement. Not very stable. Crashes alot and then restarts and looses half the information so you have to start again. cant tell the difference between similar words like “waist” & “waste”. Can lag far behind where your dictation is at so you wait for it to catch up to avoid crash and data loss. can be frustrating when it wont pick up certain words. Annoying that it wont allow you to turn off notifications to help it be more stable and not have interruptions. Lot of room for improvement.

Paid version doesn’t work on my iPad ?. I paid a yearly subscription and it will only work on one device , my phone and not on my iPad and there is no one to contact to sort out the issue ? Still doesn’t work. Christian Newbauer - thanks for the response, however blaming me does not resolve the issue. The latest version on the App Store, if I recall it was 3.3. I doubt very much it is at my end. My iMac is 8 core, ram at 64 gb. iMac is hard wired to the modem. Modem is fibre optic set up with a rating of 1.5gb/sec. All speed tests are reliable and balls to the wall consistent. The problem again is it starts to write down with significant errors, pauses, deletes and continues repeating the issue. A novel idea would be that instead of blaming, spend your effort to improve your product!

It’s not free after a few uses.. iOS has its own free speech to text function. I just learned that in iOS, In the keyboard (in all apps) we can touch the icon for mic and speak; it will type it out for you. If you don’t see the icon in the keyboard go to your phone’s settings, under general, find keyboard, and there activate speech to text. it’s that simple. I have activated it and it works brilliantly and actually this text I typed by speaking it. Thank you.

This author’s antidote for a migraine!. As a writer of Cosy mysteries I spend a lot of time in front of the computer screen. And sometimes I can end up with a very bad eye strain which will lead to migraine. With the Dictate app I can get my words in. In fact I’ve re-discovered dictating. I realize that I can talk and hash out my story much faster than I can type it. Sure when I transfer the words I put in my quotation marks and what not and end up editing but it sure saves time. My daily word count has tripled. And I’m surprised at what my characters are doing when I talk it out. I highly recommend this app.

Just started using app. I recently started using this app. I have been searching for a good speech to text one This is the one I will try for a while. There are others with more features but I am not willing to pay the outrageous monthly or yearly subscriptions. Prices are ridiculous. Very easy to use. The automatic conversion from speech to text is surprisingly accurate. But for that accuracy one needs to enunciate properly. It accepts commands like “period”, “dot”, “new paragraph”, and many more. That, of course, enables you to format the text whatever way you desire without having to edit later. It also lets you interrupt and edit during the process. Will update my review after using it for a while.

New version keeps crashing. What is going on with the new version? It keeps crashing every few minutes. The older version didn’t crash like that. Please any help? I can’t do my work on this version.

Amazing!!. I love this app! Going to uni you get really tired of typing all day. I often use this app to write for me. It isn’t without its faults, it mistakens some words I use - such as discussions and decisions - but oftentimes in editing its simple enough to figure out what word was meant to be there. If you have any type of accent or slur (which I sometimes do) it won’t work all that great for you, though. You need to accentuate what you are saying to get the best results! Happy writing!

It's not fair. I had the pro version before.I paid for it. Now you're telling me to subscribe? Money grabber. Why would I trust you by subscribing. The earlier version I paid for isnt there anymore. Most responsive (to consumer’s needs) app company out there. No medical dictation platform is perfect but Christian and his team go above and beyond to fix and improve functionality. More than worth it.

Suddenly expired trial. No trial period is indicated but the app suddenly expired. It worked fairly well for the time I tried it. But I can’t really recommend it because it expired.

Free version. I only was able to dictate once and have struggled to get a second time to work not sure why but I’ll keep trying because I love this function

Voice transcription. Transcription isn’t optimal.

Stopped using this app. Wanted to dictate my lessons as I find it easier to say what I want to say to my students and then gave it typed up in a more conversational causal method then written first and sound like it’s read. Anyway it didn’t include and punctuation or breaks and I found I had to spend just a a much time editing as if I had just totes it out to start with

Won’t work. I always used this app with no problems until i paid for the pro version. Now everything looks the same but the curser stays red an no text comes up when i talk. It looks and says like it is working but no text shows

Pretty good but eats batteries.. It translates pretty well if voices are clear. However you should carry a portable battery with you when not near a source to plug it in

I can’t access Dictate on my iPad. I downloaded this application to my computer because of an injury to my arm. I would rather dictate into my iPad but I can’t open this program on my iPad. Every time I try to open DICTATE on my iPad I get an error. What a waste of time! I have a 10 page paper to do and it’s easier to hold my iPad then work from a computer. This program is not flexible and you cannot use it on numerous Apple devices. I haven’t even started using this program… And I’m not going to because I don’t trust it!

Helps write chapters for my books. As an author, I often have thoughts that rush into my head. I need to be put on paper as quick as possible, but often those thoughts arise, while I am riding my bike driving my car. Dictate helps me get those thoughts into print for editing later.

Blind User Happy. I find this application a convenient way to move along in the process of dictation. I have been struggling with timeouts and other interfaces like Facebook that seem to have many problems with privacy and dictation, I’ve had dictation interrupted on Facebook while doing dictation and find it creepy.

It works but could be speedier. Currently using it with my IPhone 11 ProMax with the latest iOS. Overall it does a decent job except that it does process the text a little bit slower. It has trouble keeping up and then skips a sentence catching up to the continuing dialog. I am going to keep on using it to see if it will improve

Phone locks during use with latest update. I love the app, but ever since the latest update, the phone is locking during use, which stops the dictation. Now when I use the app to do a long dictation, I have to first set my phone to never auto lock, which is a bit annoying. Hopefully, they can fix this soon. Other than that, the app works great.

Commas galore. I like the program. it records my voice with accuracy over 90% of the time. I don’t like the fact that it adds a comma every time I take a breath, and often when I don’t take a breath. However, it doesn’t add four letter words like Siri does. What a relief!

Long-time user. Finally the “please rate us” got to me. I have used this app for many years now. The first year I used the unpaid version, to test if I would enjoy the app enough to use long term. I use it often for recording my thoughts and to create a rough draft for essays. I have enjoyed it, and the app is exactly what I expected, what it is marketed as, and what I needed.

Great for neurodivergant folks!. This app was exactly what I was looking for. It hears my voice pretty clearly and I can even use it with my headphones mic. I was “writing” every day on walks by speaking my thoughts out. Allows me to integrate my thoughts into the book after the fact. You can write a lot of pages everyday. Helped me write a good portion of my book.

Just you asking the way you did pisses me off!. Asking like you are knocking at a door not going to leave is not the way to ask but at least you are honest so I will be so also. I have used dragons speaks it is muck better. It adjusts better to you personal accent. I have to type muck up what I have to say but I am glad I purchase this app if you don’t have any other options. I would bye it!

Move Over Dragon. What a great application for transcribing long messages. I love the way it works with Apple Watch as well. Used to use Dragon when it worked on the Mac and was bummed that it was no longer available. Well, now it is no longer needed. Great precision. A minor request:. Hi Christian, thank you for the kudos. I have a simple I think simple request and that is can you give the option of placing “dictate“ in the menu, bar and the dock. I store my most used applications in the menu bar but I see no way to install “dictate“ it in that location. It seems as so. The only location is the applications folder. I can’t get this thing to work. Properly at all half the time it’s in a foreign language and the setup button comes on at random the help button has never come on. Probably me but it shouldn’t be that hard to use and I have no idea if it costs me anything.

New update horrible. After the most recent update the voice recording keeps stoping by itself when I think it’s still recording causing an issue. Also first words of sentences are no longer being capitalized.

easy to use and simply works. as medic, i was sick of getting pounded all day and then awake literally all night typing up backlogged reports. only used this app a couple times, but it interfaces beautifully our reporting software by simply copying & pasting the text. saves me hours of pecking away on crappy miniature keyboards. the dictation is surprisingly accurate even with medical terms. although it doesn’t like most of our field specific short hand, acronyms and abbreviations. so there is a bit of editing that happens, but thankfully it’s super easy to fix right on the app. in short, i’m a big fan and can’t wait to use it more:)

Becoming disappointed. When I first switched from Dragon Dictation to this app, I was very pleased, but as happened with Dragon, the quality of transcription has been going down hill lately. Maybe it’s time to find another app, but I’ve got over 800 transcriptions left which is frustrating. That said, for quality transcription, I guess if I must switch then I must switch

Efficient. I write music! And when I’m driving to work I’ll write a story about the way I’m feeling. After that I will upload it to a Google doc and will make a track out of it ✌🏽

Life saver!. I think this app would be amazing for anybody, but for a deaf guy it makes things so much easier. I am late deafened and far from fluent in sign language, so being able to pull this out of my pocket at a moment’s notice is great. Appointments, work, conversations with friends and family…. So glad I found this!

Therapist. As a therapist, I have lots of client notes to write up. Having the ability to dictate those and send those to myself via an encrypted email (not part of the app) is very helpful. No more typing out long notes and cutting things short because I’m tired of typing. This has been a game changer for me!

Totally awesome. This is a great app that saves me so much time. There are certain thoughts that need to be captured immediately; typing them up takes time but using this great app, I can just speak out loud into the mic and voila.

Can’t live without it. I’ve used this for years and paid for it at some point. Seems to work better now. I write a lot of stuff including note which I them read into the phone and email to myself. Much easier and faster than retyping.

There's a time limit. Turns off automatically. This isfalse advertising. There is no difference between this and Apple's default dictation feature (which this app uses) besides poor ui and extra hassle. The reason I downloaded this app was the promise of "no time limit" There's the same time limit as the one imposed by default by Apple's speech recog. The dev is a liar. Waste of time Update: the developer responded to my review. He claims there's a"silence timeout of 1 minute." Unfortunately, these are the same kind of lies that go into his app descriptions. Playing around with the settings there is absolutely No Way to alter the dictation software to record continuously. this app is a fake misleading wrapper around Apple's built-in dictation in iOS. the dev makes it to trick people into buying the pro version and get money for ads before users switch to an app that works

Dictate app. I do enjoy this app I've never used one like this before so I'm just learning about it. One question I do have is that is this free or do I have to pay for it at a later date I'm a little unsure I didn't see any real fine print please let me know thank you.

Great dictation service. I was looking for a good alternative to Dragon, efficient costs a fortune and then suddenly stopped working for me. This is it. It has very close to the same accuracy, is reliable and very easy to use. I use it to dictate progress notes for therapy I do and it is a great time saver add I can now do ask if my notes on my commute.

Text disappears after about 10 lines of transcripts. I upgraded to the Pro version. Initially, I was impressed how it could take speech from a video, and put out the text. As speech is being transferred to text, after about 10 lines, the text goes away. I can’t find a way to recover it. I also noticed that intermittently, parts of multiple sentences are merged together, so you are losing important information of the speech. Unless these issues are resolved, I do not recommend this software.

This is a game changer for me.. I am finding more and more uses of this Dictation APP. Getting much more accomplished with less effort and much less wasted time!!! At 75 years of age and being a 100% Service-Connected Disabled Veteran, , THIS IS HUGE FOR ME!

Purchased version is terrible. I downloaded the trial version and it worked perfectly. I was so excited with the way it worked. After a couple of hours I decided to get the full version. Downloaded it and tried to use it on my I-phone today. It did not work well at all. Hardly got any complete sentences correctly. I hope there is answer to this problem because I really like the app if it works correctly.

Very Productive app to have. I have been using this for two weeks now, it has been a great help and taking short notes. I am also more frequently using the Apple Watch app and I see it transcribed on my phone. I have siri shortcut to copy it to my document. It has been wonderful so far.

The upgrade is a downgrade. I recently upgraded my iOS and was dismayed to see that this wonderful app that I have used for years no longer worked. I was glad to see that there was an update for it which I download it. Man am I sorry! Siri works better than it does. What have you done to this wonderful app to ruin it? Please change it back!

No refund for subscription.. The basic version of this app was not letting me do what I needed so I paid for the subscription and the pro version. However, the pro version did not solve my problems either. Deleting the app is easy and so is canceling the subscription, but there is no reimbursement even though I used it for only a half hour. All the attempts to contact the developer end in a loop with no help. Very frustrating.

Dictation made modern and almost effortless.. Enjoying the features. App makes most of the work easy. Still having issues with sharing and exporting. Working on better automatic formatting, but I may still be just limited in my experience with it.

Re-charged. I paid for the app. Then I had to restore phone after a broken screen and once restored I have to re-purchase the app. Apparently after you agree to pay for it again it then tells you that you already paid for it and you can get it free now. I almost deleted it.

Writer. I have tried several dictation apps, and I have even paid money just to try one that is rated the best. For me this app is the most accurate, I estimate it’s accurately between 95% and 98%. It’s closest rival app was about 70%. I’m no longer looking for dictation apps. This is the best.

Undid all my edits. I dictated my handwritten notes, went through and fixed all the dictation errors and added a few (now lost) thoughts and then I have no idea what happened, but the app erased all my edits and reverted back to the error-filled dictation. Why is that even an option? 40 minutes wasted, so much for saving time on typing up my notes. Incredibly frustrating and it doesn’t inspire confidence as this was my first time using the app. The search continues for a functioning dictation app.

The Final Word!. After asking writer/artist friends and doing research, I finally found a low-cost, user-friendly way of transcribing my audio book interviews to text. The free options are insufficient and the human transcription is too expensive. I’ve got what I need to get the job done, and I’m now in a groove. Big thanks!

Excellence. In past reviews I have maintained this is the premier dictation application out there. I continue to heap accolades on this app as it seldom misinterprets my words, something I can’t say the same for other programs. The updates are excellent and frequent, making This App even more important to me. Please keep up the good work.

Works well. Sure there are some times when the transcription isn’t perfect, but I can talk much faster than I can write, so this app helps me get to a good draft with minimal effort. Highly recommended.

Retired. So far so good! I really like how everything is formatted, especially the special board section which I haven’t used yet. Only reason why I haven’t given it a five star rating is because I just started using it. Give me another couple weeks or so and I anticipate next to store for the five star rating!

Very helpful. Using it to transcribe medical documents after a hand injury. It picks up a lot of medical terms and overall has been very helpful over the last few days. The word commands are sometime buggy for doing parenthesis and all caps. Able to easily email the transcripts to myself to then copy text and add directly into other documents.

Sweet. I was hesitant about purchasing this app. You know seeing as how technology seems to only work when it wants to. Much like an American politician. This app has been great for me to remember my 13 years in the Regular Army. You will need to make minor corrections when you import them into NS Word and/or LibreOffice. Older version. The features in the newer version of dictation are helpful, however, the older version that allowed you to start 3 different dictations at same time (A,B, C) is so much better. Together with the current version would make dictation the very best

Excellent app. I use this app to dictate in English, French, and Spanish. I find that it is very accurate in understanding what I say to the point where, unlike some of the other dictation apps, I don’t have to do a lot of cleanup before transferring what I have said to an email message or other document.

Awesome app. This app is awesome, it has helped me so much, I am the worst speller known to man and this has really helped me develop my spelling skills not over bearing so I think you because there are a lot of dictation apps out there and I am retired and I cannot afford any of them so thank you for supplying this OK

This App works. After several terrible apps, this is one that works the way I talk. Easy to use and figure out how to get the results I need. I dictate minutes, meeting notes and more and sent to email to edit quickly and send. A tremendous time saver.

Great idea, Bugging you buy. great concept,potentially great for Business. As a frugal digital consumer a spending $7 on an app that replace multiple press of keyboard mic buttons little pricy. Pricing in $2.99 price point could catch on and be download by millions of IPHONE users . If the developer doesn’t do it, Copycats will. I had to uninstall on the third day because of annoying message popup.

Remarkably Accurate Voice Translation. I have used Dictate for about 30 days and I am genuinely impressed with its accuracy and that I am not limited by the iOS Speech to text defaults that most apps use. I also just found out the is a Dictate app for my Mac, so I am very excited to try it out as well and expect it will be of the same stunning quality! Thank you Dictate team!!! 👍👍👍👍👍

My dictation is sent to Apple. I just downloaded this app but not going to use it until I understand better how my dictation gets used by Apple- is my complete dictation saved or are just select words uploaded to help to improve dictation. I am inputting highly sensitive information and will not use this if my 'notes' get sent somewhere. I rejected the allow to have dictation sent and it says without this the app will not work- please advise...

Amazing app, but can be improved. Amazing work by you. Translation is accurate, however if you can somehow incorporate punctuation, that would be great. Additionally, how does one delete something that it just typed, so commands like delete last word/sentence will be helpful
