Excellent story!. If you get your excitement from fast paced action, this is not for you, but if you want a great story and enjoy old school adventure like Gabriel Knight, give this a shot. You won't regret it.

Still playing.... So far it feels more like a point and click version of an “escape the room” game; which isn’t a bad thing in and of itself, except for the fact that I downloaded this game after completing Thimbleweed Park (I’m 35 and grew up on Sierra and LucasArts) based on recommended apps “you might also like”... Not a problem! I’m still open to a new experience and have no regrets over spending five dollars! (The description and reviews could more accurately represent the story-based click-through (the puzzles are far more sparse than a Space Quest or a Monkey Island). That being said, I don’t expect a knock-off of those games, either. I’m enjoying this game for what it is. I’m giving 5 stars because the game is well-made. I recommend!

Perfect! Brilliant!. I just can't give this game enough praise. This is the kind of feeling I want from every point and click adventure game. Comedy, suspense, intrigue, mystery, conspiracy, and above all, a deep desire to see more the whole time playing and to the very end. The puzzles all had adequate clues within the game to solve. I'll admit I got stumped twice and looked for clues online, but overall, I was extremely impressed by the game's ability to guide the player into critical thinking.

too many hints. Good enough point and click adventure but too linear and too many integrated hints. Everything is fairly obvious so there’s no real pay off for figuring anything out. It’s sort of an interactive Twin Peaks.

fun mystery adventure. Yeah, loved it. Well developed characters and intriguing how story unfolds. A little bizarre in good ways... (maybe it's just the forest and the owl but it reminded me of twin peaks here and there? anyway...)

Sierra/Lucasart point-and-click vibes, fun but short. Game can be finished in a couple days, but feels a lot like the old Sierra and Lucasarts games. I would recommend it.

Amazing!. I loved this game! Great story and amazing voice acting that brings it to life. I love that they had voice actors, I don’t mind reading dialog, but it just adds something extra when a game is voiced. I love the throw back feel from the 64 bit graphics. The length of the game is good, and difficulty is challenging that it took me time to play thru and dare I say I had to refer to walkthroughs a few times lol a hint function is always a plus, but that’s player choice. Thank you for making great games! Please make more like this and Whispers of a Machine (another of my favs)

Absolutely amazing. This is one of the best games I have ever played. The plot was so original and the artwork was beautiful. The gameplay was extensive and it took me quite a long time to finish it.

Memories of my favorite games. I've seen a lot of people mention how similar this game is to the old LucasArts classics. To me, it is very reminiscent of my all time favorite Gabriel Knight. I've been enjoying this game during downtime throughout the day and I mirror it to my Apple TV to play it at night. In my opinion it shines there. So far I've had a blast with it and I was so happy to discover this was available for iPhones as I don't really play PC games anymore and usually are left out in terms of adventure games. More like this please!

Fantastic!. If you're into a game full of twists, turns, and mysteries, then you have come to the right place. Fan of Nancy Drew games? Perfect choice! Highly, highly recommend.

Only One Small Critique. I loved this game. It is an excellent point-and-click adventure game. My only critique is that the overall mythology of the game should have been fleshed out a little more.

Gorgeous game, moving story. I needed a fix after finishing the Blackwell games and this fit the bill. I loved the lead character’s sense of humor and moxie, as well as her family backstory that grows to encompass a small town. Cool twists and turns. Favorite sidebar character interactions have to be with the actor/bum and his z grade movie plots. But overall, just a great little game and mystery that wraps up in an interesting way.

Immersive. This was a great game. Long gameplay, amazing character and story. It is rated R, FYI. It has the traditional annoyances of this type of game- long waits while your character moves from here to there, trouble making out objects, but all that is part of the genre. The art is great, and did I say it was a great story? I'd love a Kathy Rain 2, maybe with a few more puzzles this time- it was a little light on puzzles. My only beef with it was that it was super specific about the actions you needed to take, which could make it challenging to know if you are on the right path. Thanks for the great experience!

Adult edition of the Blackwell Mysteries. Lots of f-bombs and it wrestles with abortion. So- not for kids. But for adults of a certain age, very entertaining trip back to our pixellated youth.

Great story, terrible intuitive play. Ughh Apple made me buy this game multiple times, even though the App Store shared I should have been able to share with my family’s plan. Furthermore, multiple skips when the story needed to move forward made this unplayable and not a fun game. I tried to enjoy playing this on my own, problems with the interface led me to program walkthroughs and the glitches I experienced even after seeing how this game should behave led to my 1 star.

Stuck on day 1. Am excited to move forward with this app, but we are stuck on Day 1 and can’t seem to advance. Pretty sure we’ve found all the clues we’re supposed to find (have consulted multiple walk through to confirm) but the way to return to her dorm room never comes up - she can only go to Grandma’s, the cemetery, sherriff’s office or the Myers house- can’t figure out how to to get back to the dorm and start day 2. It’s been almost a week, we have quit and started over a few times, help!

Fantastic. Absolutely devoured it! Once I started, I seriously couldn’t stop. Highly recommend!

Great game. Interesting story, creative puzzles and it runs well. No ads or anything annoying like that either.

A good game that needs some polish. I really enjoyed the first half of the game. I was very much interested in the mysteries and characters presented, but the later parts of the game need some work. I appreciate the nods to Twin Peaks and the atmosphere the game creates, but the game loses some of its charm once Kathy enters the other realm. It was like the game just became a soulless copy of Twin Peaks rather than being inspired by it. The game has potential, so hopefully future entries, if there will be any, can handle their endings better.

Overlapping music. Music is overlapping with other music in the game and its very distracting. Game is great otherwise I just wish I could near the music without it being overlapped

Deep story, great visuals, some navigation tough on iPad. I read some great reviews, and found the game to be worth the price. It has a lot of deep history in several of the characters, good flow, and the graphics are wonderfully done. It was hard to navigate through some scenes on the I-pad. When trying to talk to a character, I couldn’t always pick what I wanted to say because the options were overlapped by the action button. Once I picked the action to talk, it would also register the sentence directly under the action button. It also wouldn’t give me all the actions properly. When I would drag an item to show to someone, it would register that I was using it on the person, which didn’t make sense, and wouldn’t work. As a side note there are a few topics that may be difficult for some gamers, and I would not recommend playing this game around small children if swearing is not a normal thing in your home. There are several that are really offensive to some people. I do wish that there had been a little more interaction with some of the scene items, even if it didn’t further the plot.

Tremendous fun. The 8-bit style graphics are more than a little twee, but otherwise, big fun. Challenging but not too much so. Engaging characters, involving storyline. Worth the money.

Awesome game. This is literally my first review. I play a lot of games on my phone but this game was truly a blast. I stayed up way past my bed time to finish it and now I have to be up for work in 4 hrs. But the game was worth it.

Great story game. I had so much fun playing this game. This main character is charming and interesting. I believe the company changed the name from wadjet eye to raw fury?? Anyways, it is definitely the best game of theirs. Never regret purchasing their games

Fantastic. I've played every point and click adventure game I could find on iTunes, and very rarely do contemporary ones hold up to Monkey Island or DOTT. But this game really really works. I love the protagonist, I love the logic, and I had to write a review before I finished because I want more people to play it. It is worth the money. 5 stars!!!

The Perfect Game. Beautiful old school graphics and gameplay, a wonderful port to iOS and one of the all time best plots- story, puzzles, character development etc. the world needs more games from y'all and like this!

I want my $5 back. I purchased this game cause it got such great reviews. There’s no hints so you’re going back and forth between locations and trying everything to see what works, so it gets old fast. Had to look up a walkthrough and there’s a bug leaving Mrs. Myers house, the next location doesn’t appear, so I can’t finish the game. Definitely not worth $5.

Outstanding Slice of Nostalgia. Exceedingly well-made. Not only a great shout-out to the games of my childhood (Police Quest & Quest for Glory), but it stands tall among today's games. This shows that adventure games are indeed alive and well! Hope to have more in the series! Keep up the stellar work!

Great story. This was very well done, with the exception of a few small duplicate item tags on the far left of the screen when you hold down. I really enjoyed the character development. One suggestion for future games is that you could have easily had multiple endings based on your reaction to mom, dad, and self which I think really just seals the deal in games like this. Thanks for the effort guys!

Great storyline but the game isn’t for me. As I said, the storyline is really great. The artwork is also very good. The character’s physical movement was not super fluid but detailed. The game has a lot of dialog and sometimes you're just sitting there not doing anything while they talk. It reminds me of Blackwell. The game kind of leads you around at times so I felt like it was playing without me here and there. On an iPhone, it was sometimes hard to find the exact spot to click as objects were small. a few unintuitive puzzles. It was a good mystery that you don’t really solve yourself, the game does, and somewhat slow moving because of the way you get from place to place. Some good merits here and while I enjoy this type of game, I prefer Thimbleweed Park, Macinarium, Yesterday, Inner World and Pendulo Studios type better.

Enjoyable. I did enjoy the game. Just wanted to warn parents that the second half of the game features frequent strong language that is not listed in the game's age rating.

Great Game. I really enjoyed this game. It reminded me a lot of Full Throttle with the mechanics, the biker gang, and the Corley Motors references. It had some creepy moments that gave me chills similar to Oxenfree. It’s dark with an interesting storyline, fun characters, and challenging detective work. I played through it in a few days. I took a star off, because I wish there had been more game. There could’ve been a few more locations, ones that are mentioned but that you can’t visit. Overall, I would definitely recommend it and will play any future Kathy Rain games. Also, don’t miss the post-credit sequence!

What a ride!. I absolutely loved this game. For the low price a short game is just right. Took me a few hour to beat it. But I couldn’t put it down. So fun and easy to use on IOS. I recommend this game strongly.

Worth your $!. If anything it feels like a steal that I can play a game of this length and caliber on my phone. I have not regretted this purchase!

Amazing Point-n-Click. Huge fan of Gabriel Knight, Monkey Island, King’s Quest, Maniac Mansion, and all those games. This game was on par with those old classics and was a real treat to play. Story had me hooked and I was able to finish it without any Googling. Great voice acting and really fun to play. Gorgeous pixel graphics. Hope to see more games from this dev team. So good.

Totally engrossing. Superb game.. Wonderful 8 bit retro graphics, incredibly detailed plot, and terrific voice over acting make this most definitely R rated point and click adventure game an absolute keeper. What started off as a fairly basic mystery ended up jumping both feet first into Twin Peaks territory. If there's any negative it's that the final showdown felt like it was over to fast. That said, if you were a Monkey Island kid (and are now fully grown up) and you appreciate adult themes, then grab this game now. Just don't blame me if the Red Man visits you in your dreams afterwards.

Pitch Perfect. This was an absolute knockout. The story is compelling - a nice 90s throwback a la Twin Peaks and The X Files, creepy and atmospheric, but not to the point that I found it hard to play. The voice acting is excellent across the board, and the character design is fantastic. Kathy is so fun and relatable, but definitely not a Mary Sue. The puzzles were challenging, but not frustrating. I am PRAYING that there is a sequel coming!

What they said...awesome.. I thought, 'ugh another plodding mystery adventure game (which isn't bad, but I tend to be impatient). Such beautiful atmosphere, amazing voice acting (seriously good) and I don't know the word for it, but the mixture of pixel art with soft effects and lighting worked so well. Oh and the music is so good, it's haunting, never annoying or repetitive. I had no idea this was pretty dark and definitely not PG, there's a lot of cursing and some dark events. The puzzles (for me) were very very original and difficult, made you want to get out a pen n paper and scribble to figure it out. There were not many puzzles but the ones there were so well thought out, never monotonous. I really enjoyed the detailed environment (objects to interact with, things to examine.) The length was satisfying. It was really really good. I did use a walk through occasionally because I'm lazy and sometimes I got tired of tracking over the same sites over n over. Only issue: on the IPad there is some glitch in certain locations which when you push to see 'hot spots', they are overlapped and in the wrong places. I saw this in many rooms. Great game

GREAT game - lot of bugs with iOS port. Game itself is great- have enjoyed playing it…but keep getting fatal crashes, freezes, or errors every few scenes. Forces constant saving, restarting, and repeating puzzles which gets annoying. Currently can’t make it past beginning of day 2 as working with the sound file on dorm room computer fatally crashes every time.

Amazing. This is hands down one of the best point and click games for the iOS. This and the Blackwell series.

Nice homage. If you grew up on Gabriel Knight, Quest for Glory, Space Quest, Monkey Island, Full Throttle, and Day of the Tentacle, this is going to be a very enjoyable game. The story is very similar to Gabriel Knight, there are a couple nice references to Full Throttle, and the VGA style is spot-on. SPOILER: My only complaint was that was a little too much like Gabriel Knight with the Church being the source of the bad guys. I think the trope of the priest/pastor being the bad guy is played out. I know I'm tired of it. I would have liked to see something a little more original.

💜Should have trigger warning.... No Spoilers but...NEEDS huge TRIGGER WARNINGS for abortion, family trauma, adoption/neglect, suicide, mental health and Religious trauma; portrays all very well. Great game, definitely an "M" rating. GOOD MYSTEY & PUZZLES are easy enough by listening to Kathy. That said PLS THINK about whether the above issues REALLY bother you B4 BUYING/PLAYING!! 1) You play the whole game as Kathy and to progress you MUST confront said issues and deal with her inner "demons". That said the game does make u think about life itself..and you face moral dilemma, just as you do in "Whispers of the Machine" 2) .MUCH more enjoyable than Blackwell series, provides @ 6-7 hr game time if u want it to. Good acting and soundtrack adds a lot... wear earbuds!!! 3)All in all thanks to devs (again) for another thought provoking point and click game:) 4) Took one star off for the things mentioned for Trigger warning. You truly experience the essence of these situations and people should know that:) 5) Also..As another reviewer said... swearing is prevalent ( plenty of gd and fbombs so be careful round little ones:)

Don’t tell my clients I shirked work to finish this game.... I work. A lot. Multiple jobs in a fast paced industry. As such, I don’t get a lot of downtime, and as much as I love games that really pack in the mystery and action, I find myself gravitating towards quick things that can satisfy my need for recreation in 15 minutes or less. But this game...! My fiancé recommended it to me late on a Wednesday night. And I had a very difficult time going to work on Thursday. I was supposed to work out a few kinks in a freelancing project Thursday night, but I just couldn’t put this down! Kathy Rain is captivating. The style, the cadence, the acting, and the plot all come together into an incredible mystery that takes a fairly unexpected twist. The attention to detail and era are stellar, and the pace of the reveals keeps the player driving ever forward. It’s not a slog- it’s a pleasure. I highly recommend this game to absolutely anyone who had ever had an interest in point and click adventures and/or mysteries...but maybe play it on your day off!

Great Story!. Felt like a classic point and click adventure. The story kept me intrigued. Was a little disappointed with the ending but hopefully that means a sequel in the future perhaps? Overall, really loved it just felt the last day was rushed.

A MUST BUY. If you love dynamic storytelling and great characters you will get this game. I'm not even finished with Kathy Rain yet, it's just that great that I had to write a review about it. A refreshing muti layered story. A lot of thought went into this games look and appeal. The puzzles really get you dig deep and figure it out. I'm honestly waiting for a sequel or prequel to this game, amazing work :) Enjoy

Fantastic!!. I really like this game :) I hope there is a sequel :) the last dialogue seemed to hint of one.... :) the way the dialogue and planning and searching was like earlier adventure games from Sierra and Lucasarts but this time there's a walk through out there so I don't need to punch holes in walls (in frustration) as I used to before there was the internet to help me :))

Frustrating gameplay. This game could be great but is so frustrating to play. You could have solved each puzzle and taken all the right actions and yet be unable to proceed because you haven't exhausted all of the conversation options with a random character or not done something in a very specific order. The developers definitely need to plan the game progression better so that the experience doesn't seem so clunky and arbitrary.

Purely addictive. Reminds me of games I used to play back in 1995. Everything about this game was enthralling. The perfect level of difficulty for those that like to be challenged.

Thimbleweed Park for Grown Ups. Wow, it started slow but once it got going, it was a blast. Some mature themes and lots of great puzzles, and the puzzles were well integrated into the story. Super fun, just like reading a good novel. Also great characters in Kathy and Eileen. If you like Myst, Thimbleweed Park, Stranger Things, Donnie Darko, this is perfect.

Good but also not good. Just a lil warning that this game is pretty “old school”(aka not cool) in its treatment of mental illness, suicide, abortion and homelessness! Looks like it was released in 2016 but really kept with its 90’s setting in terms of attitude! It was really fun to play but gee…

Bugs. The game crashes on IPad pro when putting the tape in the tape recorder.

Very good 'classic' game.. I just finished this game... and wow. The puzzle are hard, but not too hard. The story intriguing from beginning to end. Plus. La traduction française est impeccable. Les voix sont toujours en anglais, mais les sous-titres sont dans un français nickel. Les puzzles basé sur le langage ont été étonnamment bien traduit. Et les développeurs ont même pris la peine de traduire le texte contenu dans les images du jeu. 5 ⭐️!

Good classic point and click adventure game. Interesting story line , witty characters , lots of hidden laugh. The puzzles are the right difficulty , not too evident , but also you do not end up looking up the solution online constantly. Sufficient amount of gameplay for your money . I only give it 4 stars because the graphic and the ending. I understand the retro value of pixelated graphic , but it went too far. I played on my phone and sometimes I had no idea what I am looking at because it was just pixels of blob . After I finished I installed on my iPad and it looked much better and I assume it would be even better on a PC. But for a iPhone it was way to pixelated. Also the ending was a bit downer with its weirdness and unfinished lines.

Well worth it. Great story. Not too hard. The story was so enjoyable that it’s easy to see past the retro graphics. I hope you do a sequel!

Anti-Christian!. Kathy is a cocky selfish vulgar girl who likes to insult her christian roomie who is only ever nice and helps her out. Sheesh I couldn’t even finish the game it was so cringey.

Excellent!. I played Thimbleweed Park and wanted more of the same. I tried a few others, but I didn’t love them. They were too hard to pick up if I didn’t play for a few days. I did use a walkthrough a few times. Most of the steps I missed were face-palmers. There were a couple that I would have never figured out because there were items that had to be clicked on a second time, later in the story. So much fun! 06/30/19

Crappy graphics. Why are the graphics so bad? Can hardly read the dialogue they are so pixelated. Deleted and downloaded the game twice and nothing different. Could someone please fix?

Nice to meet you, Kathy Rain!. After a 25+ year hiatus from point and click adventure games, Kathy Rain was my first return to the genre. I was engrossed by the storyline. The voice acting is excellent, especially the voice of Kathy that gave the character so much personality. In the 1990s I loved the Sierra games like Kings Quest, Space Quest and Gabriel Knight. Kathy Rain reminds me most of the Gabriel Knight series, with its delving into old family secrets and the occult. I think in some ways I enjoyed Kathy Rain even more, because she is so sassy (yet with a vulnerable side)! I liked her so much. The puzzles are not that hard, although in my impatience, I did look at a walkthrough a couple of times. I enjoyed everything about this game except for the visuals. I understand it was a nostalgic-aesthetic-economic choice, but the pixelation made certain details hard to see on my iPhone. I would have enjoyed the game even more if the visuals were more realistic and in higher resolution (given what today’s iPhones/iPads can do). I read on Raw Fury’s blog that this game was not an immediate success initially, but if it has reached someone like me in 2021 (who has literally been living under a rock game-wise) it must have achieved a well-deserved level of success and fame. I am so glad that games like this are still being made. It is nice to push my adult responsibilities away for a few hours and just have some fun like I used to as a kid. And what an achievement that the game developer is pretty much a 1-man show! I hope he will make a sequel. Kathy Rain has so much life in her and I would love to see what more adventures she will have. PS: Kathy has some emotional baggage that I think requires the player to have enough maturity, empathy and open mindedness to appreciate. While there isn’t anything overtly objectionable (no nudity or sex, only cursing once or twice), the age rating of 12+ seems a bit low for me. I would not want my own kids to play this game at 12. YMMV.

Mystery/ adventure, point-and-click. I miss these games so much. I enjoy the rich story, character driven (strong female protagonist), point-and-click type of mystery/ adventure games. I had the opportunity to play this as a demo at Pax Prime where I met and chat with the creator, as well as I was part of the beta testing team on Steam, and now I'm really happy to play this with the convenience of my tablet! Thank you for releasing this!

So much for the QA. What is the worst thing ever? A game crashing when you finish it. That is just what this game do when you finish it. Cemetery scene then crash. Neat...
