The best banking app. Hands down.. This is the best banking app on the market. Ironically enough, I came across it unintentionally. I was selling something on Facebook Marketplace and someone sent me money through the Current app so I had to download this app to retrieve it. Smh. Well, it ended up being a blessing in disguise as I’ve switched to banking exclusively with them. Unlike the other “banking” apps I’ve tried that push payday loans, monthly “membership” fees, and high interest credit cards, this app seems like it’s actually designed to SAVE you money. I’ve earned hundreds of dollars from the referral program and sign-up offer alone. I also earn $1/day from the Savings Pod Boost, compared to the laughably low but all-too-common 0.01% annual interest that I was earning with my Chase savings account (literally would accrue pennies every YEAR.) They also issue you a secured Current “Build” card upon creating an account. There’s no credit check, no fees, and no APR. It basically works the same as the debit card where you can only draw from your available cash, but Current reports the purchases to credit bureaus as a revolving credit line. This app is single-handedly helping me to rebuild my financial future and I am forever grateful to have stumbled upon it. I haven’t reviewed an app in probably over a decade, but I’ve been so happy with this app, I literally felt compelled to spread the good word. Please support this app so they can stay in business forever!

Great online banking service!!. The app is simple and easy! It’s also an incredibly easy way to be able to utilize a savings account/rainy day fund with a great rate to increase the amount of savings you have over time and with the more you put in the savings account the more money you’ll make and add to what you’ve already saved!! I’m definitely going to continue to use this particular online banking service! Especially since it’s got absolutely no hidden fees, no overdraft fees or fees that you aren’t made aware of basically immediately. Most banks also require a minimum amount to be kept in your account as well as charging a monthly “service fee’ just for using your account, but current does not. The fact that they make everything so simple and easy to use and access within your accounts makes it that much more worthwhile!! I’m definitely not going back to my old banking services!! Thank you Current!! You’ve saved me a ton of money and kept me from the massive migraines that come along with most any other banking services!! Keep up the good work! I would highly recommend Current to anyone looking into switching over from most mainstream banks or banking services!!

AWFULLL. I've used current for maybe a year now. I have filed only ONE dispute because someone got ahold of my card and used it on cash app. Months later i ordered something using my current card linked to paypal. The sender did not send me my item and paypal was giving me trouble because it looked like it had been disputed and to contact my financial institution. I filed a dispute with current and spoke with customer service through chat and explained what had happened. The next two days everything was fine and then they closed my account with no warning or explanation. Not only that but they block your number from contacting them if they "suspend" your account and the only customer service is really in the app. Even on the phone it will say you can reach is through the app. I sent an email and got no response. After they suspended the account they still let my direct deposit come through the account. I tried to connect my card to cashapp so i could take the funds out and of course it didn't work. Now they have NOT send the funds back and my job isn't able to track down the deposit. I always LOVED this app just seems crazy to be a BANK with no reliable customer service or suspending accounts without reaching out first or at least requesting ID or verification for whatever issue they suspect. I have one income that is now in limbo with NO response STILL. I am just disgusted with how they treat there customers!!!!!

Worst mobile deposit process I’ve ever seen. I wants to give current a good review, I really did, but with the ridiculously abhorrent experience I’ve just had with them I couldn’t in good conscious pretend that this bank is worth your time. I had a current account before and I absolutely loved it. However I started a new job that (infuriatingly) only does paper checks. At other banks this wouldn’t be a problem as most will deposit the check immedielty in some fashion or at the least within 24 hours….but not current. I used my first Mobile deposit well over a week ago and it has been in pending limbo since. I’ve had to go an entire week without a paycheck because current thinks it’s somehow acceptable to make people wait AT LEAST five days before a clearing a mobile deposit which is absolutely ridiculous. I’ve already switched back to my old credit union because they at least deposit half the mobile check deposit Immedietly and the rest within 24 hours at the most. I contacted current assuming there had to be some sort of issue with my deposit because waiting 5 days for a check to clear sounds like an unreasonable joke, but no. They told me it’s their standard and that is absolutely infuriating. This one issue has been a massive inconvenience in my life that has caused legitimate financial hardship when there otherwise shouldn’t be. If I could rate current at ZERO stars I would and I can only hope they either fix this absolute trash mobile deposit system, or shut down.

Terrible Response Time. Before I begin everyone needs to know this isn’t a bank, Current is just a tech company. I went through the support chat to resolve what I thought was going to be a timely fix. Then slowly realizing this has morphed into a longer process. I had spoken to someone through chat on how to establish the connection to my Credit Union again. Since Currents systems no longer recognized it. So someone informed me to delete the app, download it again, none of these were working so they informed me to delete the account and reconnect it again. This made things even more complicated. I no longer could request transfers from this account. This was escalated to the “hire ups” then I got a response that they were looking into this. Then I didn’t heard from them for a few weeks. I returned to the chat support and they were able to help. They had me go through the same steps and unfortunately sounded very robotics. As they follow a copy and paste speech, possibly to avoid getting any fingers pointed at them. However, it was clearly stated it was an error on your part, which I have the screenshots. So either this gets fixed or I’m leaving Current that simple. You are a tech company you should have the capabilities to fix this error in less than 30 days. Do better. I’ve already started the process of moving my funds to a legitimate institution

Omg pls don’t. I’ve never had more issue with an online banking system. I just thankfully closed my account after have current for about 6mo. If you like have easy access to your money, I’d advise against current. I was using current as my “fun money” account. So I kept my external main bank and would transfer only money to use as I’d like into current. Seems like a good way to use an up and coming online banking system, right? At least that’s what I thought. I was wrong. The transfers hardly every had correct estimates of days it would be deposited. Current also offers immediate transfers! With a huge list of caveats.. if you want to start using immediate transfers, it is possible but it takes about a week to initiate, and it only works for going into your account not out. It is also not compatible with Zelle, I was told I could manually connect my card with Zelle but when I tried to do so, Zelle gave me an error message that the platform does not accept that card. Current is only really compatible with cash app, and everyone in my life primarily uses Zelle or Venmo, so overall current was not compatible with me. At times during the week long transfers waiting for the deposits to land, I really felt like my money was being held hostage. I’m very glad to be done with current, it may be compatible for you and that’s great, but Jesus Christ.

DO NOT BANK WITH CURRENT!! YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE WITH THEM. I was a victim a of fraud and this useless bank did nothing about it. An unauthorized purchase .of almost three hundred dollars was made at Sephora was made. I have no idea how. I get notifications every time a purchase is made. Well as soon as I seen the transaction I immediately contacted current. Whoever I was chatting with told me to wait until the transaction settled. Once it did I immediately contacted Current again and disputed the transaction. Two days go by and I get an email from Current stating that “no error” was made therefore my request for a dispute was rejected . No other information was given to me. I have then been contacting Current constantly and nobody can give me an answer. I was desperate and hopeful I’d get my money back. They couldn’t even answer as something as basic as telling me where and when the purchase was made. I can’t believe they let the scammers get away with taking my money. I am going through a rough patch and couldn’t afford to loose that money just like that three hundred are gone from my account. Moral of the store don’t waist your time banking with them, you’re money is not safe with them and they will do absolutely nothing in the case you’re a victim of fraud. Terrible experience I had.

HORRIBLE Current dispute process. I am crying as I right this because it’s so sad. I am looking into other options as well. filed a dispute for a large amount of money. Multiple transactions happen in a matter of five minutes that I did not do or authorize the merchant to take. Merchants are out here doing what they want and current dispute process is horrible experience. They do not investigate or help. They refuse to give professional credits or follow Reg E guidelines. It’s honestly sad. I have had a bad experience. They take forever to respond and have no phone number and once you follow this dispute, they immediately deny it with no proper documentation, even if you have sufficient documentation to provide that a transaction was unauthorized or you did not receive a refund had no response to none of my tickets that I’ve made, it will take up to 5 to 7 days to appeal a request and it has been over seven business days. It’s honestly sad. I get my direct deposit in my account and as of today I have changed that it’s honestly sad what these customers are going through including me I looked on better business Bureau and see all these complaints about this bank and I wish I would have seen it before I opened an account with them they are good but when it comes to the process, it is a horrible experience and it’s for someone going through something like this that they do not have any type of sympathy or want to help.

Not a bank. They lie.. This is the absolute worst decision I’ve made in a long time. Go to a real bank and get your teens a real teen/student bank account. Current is not an actual bank. When you attempt to transfer money to the current account, it will take 3-5 days or LONGER to actually show up in the app. This is true even for a DEBIT card transfer in which the money is immediately pulled out of your bank account! I took my teens to the mall to do some back to school clothes shopping. They wanted to go to separate stores and asked if they could please have their money on their cards. I transferred $1000 to current and it immediately took the money (+$30) out of my bank account and then HELD the entire amount. I contacted my bank to see what em could be done and they gave me the phone number and authorization number associated with the transaction. I called the number and it went to some home loan company with a recording saying “you are calling from a number we don’t recognize” and hung up on me. I used the support chat on the app and they basically told me they aren’t a bank and don’t have the ability to reverse authorization or cancel authorization. They absolutely do!!! Any company that authorizes a transaction can reverse it. They just don’t teach them how to, because they are liars. They refused to get me a supervisor saying they are all given the same training. What a joke. Don’t use this company if you value your money. They do not value your money or your time.

Ok, but need a lot more. Both of my kids use this card, but it’s losing its utility. My kids sell stuff on Poshmark to make extra money, if Current could provide me with an ABA and account number for the card, then they could transfer their money to their Current card and spend it as they please. But Current won’t provide this information. Grandparents and relatives would be happy to send them money if I could give them the ACH details of the account (ABA routing and account number) but Current won’t provide this. I have gone round in circles with Current’s horrible customer service. Beware of using this card with Lyft or Uber. They place a hold on the funds, and then put the real charge through a few days later. However, sometimes the hold never gets released, so my daughter has lost her money this way — essentially very expensive Lyft rides!! Lyft says this is a Current problem. Current can’t understand that their is a problem, even though I have sent them screen shots of the hold on the funds. For simple uses and quickly sending your kids $$ in a pinch, this card is great. It could be so much better though. I’m looking for better options, since at $36/year, I expect a lot more. I can get a debit card through my local credit union for free that would provide everything I want except for the chore function. The chore function has not been worth $36/year. If my kids did more chores, maybe that would be worth it! This company really needs better customer service. That has been a big problem for me. I still value excellent customer service.

Great Idea, Horrible Customer Service and Problem Solving. *PUTTING 5 STARS SO PEOPLE WILL SEE* Their app and website designs are flawless. Their savings pods and interest percentage are amazing. Their customer service… is a different story. Don’t expect to make it to $200 overdrive either. Chime will approve you quicker. I have had a long on-going issue with trying to get my bank numbers sorted out. Needless to say, it’s been months and it still hasn’t been resolved. You have to email them more than once to even get a response and then you’re given a generic answer of how someone is “looking into it” and it never happens. Don’t get me wrong, I know bombarding a company with emails isn’t right. It backs up their queue and is just annoying. The problem is, they don’t answer the first time and after weeks, it’s time to send another email. I’m not a Karen in the least, but seriously, their customer service could use major work. Current, if you say you’re going to give a customer new account numbers, do it. Don’t close tickets without saying anything and acting like your customers are too dumb to notice.

No longer a useful platform for parents of teens. I used to love this service. I have 4 kids. I used this with my first teen and had zero issues. I got instant deposits quickly and enjoyed being able to give my kid money whenever she needed money to go out with. She’s now older and has her own bank account so I’ve moved to using it with my second teen. All of a sudden out of nowhere I lost the ability to instantly transfer money to her when she’s out. I’ve been stuck twice now with depending on others to spot her because I was unaware that I wouldn’t be able to give her money instantly. If I had known I would’ve sent her with my credit card. After the first time I reached out and asked for assistance and was told there was some sort of glitch and to relink my accounts which I did. A day or so later I was able to instantly deposit money into her account again. Today no luck once again. I’m no longer able to deposit money in her account without waiting 3-5 days. I don’t want to transfer money and have it just sit there just in case. If I have to do that I’d rather just rely on giving her cash or my card. So after reaching out a second time and getting no resolution to my issue and having the person tell me how deposits work instead of listening to my issue at hand I’ve decided to close my account and seek out another platform to use for my needs.

So rude, and they lie and work together on the lie. I have had the worst experience with a bank that you can have and it was with his bank. I have two cases where my car was really stolen and they swiped as a credit card and they did nothing normally it takes like a 30 to 90 days for a bank to get back to you they contacted me the very next day denied it did not care about any of the evidence I had when I ask him about theThe reason they always tell you to contact the disputing the disputing when I tell you never reaches back out I sent multiple emails opening up multiple cases nobody ever reach back out I have lost hundreds of dollars in his bank account because they were fused to do investigations whenever I asked him to be transferred they have will never change for me I am going to upload evidence of just just some of the evidence but please just know I have a lot more Oh and I also have a case build up against him with the Better Business Bureau I screenshot all of my conversations and they will be handled they won’t let meUpload the pictures but basically when they send me the email of the dispute they created they basically lied in the whole email and they basically say I said things that I never once said I still have my original copy of the email I sent them every day when I sent it to them do you know the people still never say anything for to me in a basically justify the actions in lying of the employees

Much Better Banking Experience. I’m so glad that I came across Current in November last year. I had just closed my BofA account after being fed up with their mercilessness and greed. For example, I would get slammed with $35 overdrafts and customer service never cared if it was because I had lost my income during the lockdown or if my overdraft was .28 cents below. They took that money like their lives depended on it (talking about one of the largest banks out there). Then they started tacking on an unreasonable $12/month “maintenance fee” after I got a job where direct deposit wasn’t an option. After losing $60 to these fees, I switched to Current and it’s been great. I also appreciate their check deposit feature and how quick it was to set things up. I tried Venmo before and verification never worked despite having valid ID. And customer service would tell me to call an outside company who would then tell me to contact Venmo CS. I got fed up after not being given an answer for a week. Current isn’t perfect however. Check deposits can take up to a week and the estimated date that the funds will be available isn’t accurate, but at least deposits take less time the more you use the function and customer service actually responds within minutes instead of days to your questions.

Great, until you need help with a problem.. I was a happy customer for a couple years until recently. In April my $500 car payment was deducted from my account with an ACH payment. A week later Toyota Financial said the payment failed, and they wanted another payment. I looked on my account, and it showed it cleared. It’s been almost 3 months now and my car payment is still missing, but Current won’t respond to my emails, or escalate the dispute I opened. I finally got an ACH report from current to send to Toyota, and Toyota came back and said that after my payment went through, Current reversed the transaction, and the $500 was sent back to my account. I have tried to get Currents help to find my missing $, but I’ve gotten the bare minimum of help, with most of my please for help going unanswered. I had to file a complaint with the consumer financial protection bureau to hopefully get them to cooperate with me. Both companies are being difficult, but I would think my bank would try to help their customer get their $500 found! So, it’s a good app until you need assistance, then you will feel like a fool like I do. I opened an account at a local bank and they’ve been far more helpful answering questions about this issue than the bank it actually happened with. Lame, because it was really nice and convenient with my teenagers having cards.

Life Saver. I am unsure of how so many adults can be that incompetent to not be able to set up and use this amazing app. My son lives a very blended life as I know so many other children do as well. Switching nights with my sons father from day to day occasionally can be especially hard because of the fact that if he has something to do after school or what not, if he woke up and went to school from his fathers house- I can’t count on my son to have what he needs from me unless I find a way of dropping it off/giving it to him in advance/dropping it to school etc. It gets complicated!! This was one of the best Christmas gifts I could have gotten my son. I bought him a new privacy screen protector as well as a phone case with a built in card slot wallet on the backside. I taped the “Welcome to Current” letter attached to the Visa as well and wrapped it all up as one gift. I wasn’t able to transfer my son funds for a few days due to the amount of time it takes for transfers but other than that, so far so good. I started him out with $25 in checking and $100 in my account so that I can pay him for tasks I’ve been asking him to do FOR WEEKS! 😂 This app allows for my son to feel like a “big kid” with his own Visa debit card instead of a prepaid credit card that visibly states “prepaid customer” as the name. If I want something done, I don’t even have to think twice- post it here as a chore for $5 to complete and BAM. He has a $25 monthly allowance and the rest is up to him to earn and achieve! The $3 refer a friend absolutely needs to be bumped up. If I actually achieve the goal of pitching and selling the idea of a Visa debit credit card for teens to my friends, get them to also sign up AND PAY an annual $36 up front- I want and deserve more than $3, JS! :-P

Great Banking App 5*s. I absolutely love this banking app! It’s got so many great features that other alternatives don’t have. The great things is subscription fees are no more with this app and atms are free if you use one of the many many on their list. They have many options to help you save money and make investments as well. I love that I can manage everything from a app on my phone including blocking a certain brand or business from being able to keep charging my card, pausing my card if it’s lost or stolen, sending and Receiving money, buying or cashing out bitcoin or other virtual currency in the app and getting lots of deals when swiping or buying with your card. There’s also a option to use a virtual or throw away electronic card number when you make online purchases as well as use your virtual card if you have to order a new card due to loss or theft as well. Customer service is amazing and they have a great referral program with incentives on both the referee and the referred. Don’t even get me started on the option to have several savings pods to save up for things without worrying about spending money you want to save for something special, a bill, etc! Highly recommend!

Good idea, needs work. I started free trials for two competing debit card companies, and this one came in second. It takes a full day to transfer funds from my bank account into my parent wallet in the app! That was way too long. I need the money there instantly. I debated this card in the first place because I wanted the chores to be checked off and payment to the kids to be made only if chores were done, but it is not a simple integration. Once you create the chores, you can’t edit them, so even if there is a typo, you are stuck with it! You can’t change the order that the chores appear for each day, and there isn’t a check box to check them off when they’re done. I started by creating a separate chore for EACH action I wanted done, but it takes up most of my screen to show one chore, and with three kids and at least 15 chores each, it wasn’t worth it. I decided to go with another card that does not have the chore option, but transfers to my parent wallet immediately, does not require such an elaborate password to get into the app (how about a PIN or fingerprint?), and I can turn each card on or off any time with only two clicks instead of three. If I think it’s lost? Off. If I can’t find it? Off. Kids have it safe in their wallet? On. Current does not have that option without reporting it stolen.

Current can help with your life.. After destroying my credit, automatically tried to fix it at cheaper payments. Did a debt settlement, that I thought would help me. I was up to date with all my credit until it started to get overwhelming. I let it all go because o thought the debt settlement would help me to be more at ease. Needless to say that was not true. Before canceling them, I decided to to do good credit for life. Unfortunately they were only able to get one deleted off my credit. During the process, they wanted me to get another credit card, which was really hard since that what got me in this mess in the first place. Took me a while, but got one. Now they give me an option to increase my high credit, but decline every time. I like current because they gave me an option to build my credit which is what I’m trying to do, but I set my credit limit. Not the credit card companies, not a loan company. I use current as my shopping on amazing, subscription, and saving for vacation which I have not been able to do yet, but will. Current gave me this opportunity to help with my credit and I’m grateful. It gives people a change to improve their lives, which out necessarily getting into debt.

Love the account. I always get paid earlier than my actual payday. Sometimes the issuing bank will place a deposit hold on funds so that they cannot go to my current account until that electronic hold releases the funds. That hold time can vary just by the payroll person alone doing the direct deposits at your place of employment. I want Current to remain solvent so that is ok with me. I do have an issue with the amount of money you can deposit via checks. The limit is &2,000. Twice now I have had checks issued to me for over $2,000 with no ability to cash them. The last time I had to turn the check back in to the issuing party and have them write me 3 checks for less than $2000, which took an entire month. I deposited one check and it takes them longer than the usual 3 days to get to and be cleared by the Federal Reserve. It has been 2 business days and my single check I deposited still hasn’t cleared and I am expecting it will take another 3 days before the funds are in my account. It is an out of state -for me-bank so today I am driving an hour and half to cash the other two checks. When I get there I will have to present the checks to the bank, wait for them to call the issuing party to approve them and IF they get back to the bank in a timely manner I can get my money and drive back home. This will cost me a day and $50 in gas and food eating out for the day. This is the biggest inconvenience of this account. They need to fix this.

Downloaded originally to win a hoodie. 3 years later I'm still a devout and happy user!. Honestly, the only reason I first downloaded this app was to get a free hoodie through a promotion years ago. The rest is history. I've been using this app for over 3 years now and have had such a positive experience since starting to use it. Regardless of it being an 'online bank', I MUCH prefer it over my previous two 'brick and mortar' institutions. Everything is transparent, the interface is very clean and optimized. The customer service live chat responds with a human representative within a couple of minutes wait tops, their build card has been a godsend for building my credit score back up. Not to mention features like the paycheck advance which helps me substantially when the paycheck to paycheck is stresstul. I get asked a lot about my debit and build card when using them out and about because they look cool and aren't a mainstream banking card. I have not been paid for this review, nor am I affiliated with Current in any way, other than being a happy user of them. I'm looking forward to remaining a user and taking advantage of the updates and features they continue to release.

Over draft protection. I think current is great always get my money early. I was disappointed in customer service answer to my question about over draft. I was allowed to overdraft $25 and didn’t ask for it at no charge. Then I was allowed to overdraft $75 at no cost again I didn’t ask for increase. My income is ss. And I get $826 a month direct deposit. It has increased to that. So one month ss only deposited $496 in my account due to error. And that month they cut my overdraft out because ss mess up and deposited under your $500 limit. And that was the one month I really could have used the overdraft. I didn’t know why I was unable to use the overdraft I got ahold of customer service. And was told ss deposits did not count as income. I did have two other direct deposits coming in to my account and they were under $100 each. I told customer service that I believe that they were wrong but I didn’t have the time then to sort it out and I would check later. I read your rules where you could not let your deposit drop below $500 and realize that that was why my overdraft was discontinued. So my complaint is I didn’t have control over ss cutting my deposit but for being $4 short I lost my ability to use the overdraft. When I talked to customer service and they told me that saison not income and wouldn’t count for overdraft. I told the lady that I felt she was wronge she got kinda nasty and disconnected our conversation. As it turns out I was right and I guess she didn’t appreciate me questioning her so she didn’t check if she or I was right. After that I just think that even though my deposit was $4 short just tell me that it’s all control by computers with no human injections considered

Avoid!!!. We’ve used this card for a couple of months. Everything worked as it should until this week. When my teenager gets gas, he swipes the card as debit & enters a pin. It has always preauthorized the card for $1 and then later would show the amount he spent. This week out of the blue, the card preauthorized $75 for a $10 transaction. $75!! Well so as not to have $75 held, he canceled the transaction. Today when he went to get gas at a different gas station, it preauthorized $91, again for a $10 transaction. Now that $91 is inaccessible for at least 3 daysand I was told there was nothing they (Current) could do. I was also told that there was no way that the card only did a hold for $1 previously. That $75 to $100 was a normal preauthorized amount from gas stations to hold for 3 days and to prevent holds that large to run it as debit with a pin ..which is what he did!! So now my kid can’t touch the money he needed for the weekend and there’s nothing they can do. After months of use after never having this problem, 2 different gas stations put a hold/ran a charge of large amounts on the card yet Current says they have nothing to do with it...even though it’s never happened before. I’ve owned and ran every type of card there is and ran it many different ways and I have never ever ever had a $75 to $100 preauthorization hold on any of them. Avoid this card unless you are willing to have large amounts of money unexpectedly put on hold to where you can’t touch it for several days!! It may leave your child stranded without the money they thought they had!!!!

Don’t listen to negative. The people writing negatives about the payday advance I mean really a guy wanting a $750 advance on a $1600 a month deposit dude make a little more money before you start asking for half your paycheck every month. How about you? Just don’t get advances and save your money properly. Anyway, yes, it may take a little time to get the paycheck advance going, but you will go up give it time. You will also get free overdrafting you should at least get 75 bucks every pay period. If you can’t figure out how to love this bank then you just don’t know how to manage your money to begin with. Don’t blame it on the bank. And hey, everyone paycheck advances are meant for once in a while not every single time and they are not a loan so if you stop depositing they cannot come collect from you because while they will repay themselves out of your deposit, they do not require you to repay it if you’re not getting a deposit. If you really don’t like it that much and you wanna rip them off that’s probably why the paycheck advances are being reduced and they really shouldn’t be anywhere near what they are because people are depending on them entirely too much if you can’t manage your paycheck and you need in advance every single pay then ya doing it wrong idiot Paid early every paycheck. Fee free overdraft. Fee free payday loan if necessary. Virtual cards, physical cards. An amazing looking black card with a rainbow border. Wonderful customer support. Change your info on the fly. Savings account. Fee free everything fee free life. No fees at the ATM. No fees for buying crypto. No fees for overdraft NO fees for payday loan. Chime just can’t hope to compete.

Nightmare 😤😤😤. At first current and everything seemed so cool and genuine even the card looked nice and but when my brother tried signing up for a parent account but he was of age, first off he received an email saying that the verification seemed to be fraudulent and that he would need to submit another verification and so he did but...when he did he replied to the emails they’ve been sending but they would either take forever to reply or respond back talking about something completely different than the situation, and the next few days out of nowhere he receives an email saying “congratulations you have been successful applied for an adult account “ or something like that, but when going back to his account he’s locked out with a message saying “pending verification - plz contact support “. And omg this was so frustrating we had a whole plan for allowance and everything and they messed it up also their support is trash and they take to long, why have many users with so little support???? So anyways I’m 16 and we’re gonna start using green light card because this card is obviously on some bs, we should’ve definitely listened to all the bad reviews we heard I honestly don’t know how they have 4.7 stars when they barely update the app and never are actually there to help out when truly needed...honestly how do u fail a verification we even took pictures of his credentials through the app camera-thing itself and this happens????no way I don’t recommend I would recommend using something else whatever works best for u💯💯💯💯

Customer service is a joke!!. Seriously they never know how to do their jobs. Everytime I try an I don’t even know why I reach out to chat with them. But just like today I purchased online an it took the charge from my account showed pending but the online store said the charge didn’t go through. It’s happened before an for some reason the current card just doesn’t work with online shopping on some sites. Like Petsmart an Walmart etc. It’ll take the money from the account an the charge will fall of 10 minutes later. But today it was taking its time falling off. I reach out to customer service by chat an ask when will the pending charge fall off. The csr rep says I see a pending charge. I just said it was pending. Then I send screenshots of the charge in the app an the message from the website saying it didn’t go through. He tells me it’s pending again it completely just went over his head. I then locked my card. As I always do after I pay a transaction he then says oh your card is locked that’s why it didn’t go through. I’m like it did go through that’s why the charge is pending when your card is locked no charges can go through at all. Not even an attempt to pend a transaction. I swear they should not even have a chat team. They are all idiots. This is one of many attempts to talk with the CSR reps and everytime I get off the chat more frustrated than ever. An they don’t even have a contact number!! It’s all thru chat. Idk why I even stay if checks didn’t hit early I don’t think they’d even have a chance to stay in business.

Current. I signed up for the current mobile banking. I now have had this card for over 3 yrs now. I’ll have to say this card has been good to me thus far. The 2 day early deposit pay is amazing. It notifies you immediately letting you know that your deposit has hit your account. I like the features it has when it does it says Whoohoo!💰you’ve been paid. It also sends an email notification. I also like that you can open up a savings pods like a savings account for whatever like bills, food, spending ,etc you can also attach an image of your savings description. It alerts you on your spending’s balance and a pie chart data on what you’ve spent your money on. This card also allows you to overdraft depending on your frequency of deposits. It also allows you to find a location where you can deposit and use fee free atms specially for this card. You also have the choice to lock your card if it’s lost or stolen and order a replacement for your first try it’s free. Second or more it is a $5 fee for replacement. The annual charge is as little as $4.99. Better than prepaid. The only thing I don’t like is it allows you spending limits that can be adjusted. It allows you only $500 max cash from atms and $2000 max per day. If you have a large purchase like leasing a car or moving deposit I’ll say use a credit card because they’ll decline payment even if you have the funds available. Otherwise , it’s a good card especially if you do not have a back account. I encourage you to still get a bank account.

WARNING Unprofessional Theives. I have had nothing but issues with this horrible bank. First and foremost: they messed up my account have stolen over $250 from me. For someone living paycheck to paycheck, this has been devastating. I contacted support, but instead of addressing their very obvious mistake and correcting the issue immediately, they told me to file a dispute against the unauthorized charge and wait up to 90 DAYS. FOR THEIR MISTAKE. I’m being punished for something they messed up. This isn’t the only thing they’ve messed up. Less than two months ago, I was several hours away from home running some errands. I used my card to buy gas to get there, made a few small purchases, then I went to pay for lunch and my card was declined. I had plenty of money in my account, so I was shocked. I went to check the app, but it had crashed. My account was completely gone. I was terrified. After three hours crying in the car and waiting in the customer support line, my account with finally restored. But it was too late. My day was ruined and I wasn't able to run my errands. A complete waste of my precious day off and all the money I spent traveling. No compensation, no empathy from customer support. I should have closed my account that day. My mistake. But the recent stealing was my last straw. I’m fed up and have already opened an account with a new bank. If they ever actually give me my money back (which I’m doubtful and devastated by), I’ll be moving the funds immediately out of that horrible account. I’ll never trust them again.

Simple, secure, personalized Banking. As a person who has had my bank account compromised twice it has been hard to find an app that I feel confident storing my money with. It seems like every time I let my guard down I swipe my card to find out my bank is drained, only to be handed off to the next customer service representative. “Sir, it appears your card information was leaked. Have you given out your card number to anyone lately who could be lying to steal your information? No? Unfortunately since the theft is due to carelessness with account information your funds cannot be insured and the remaining balance will be charged to your account. Please pay overdue balance to continue services.” I went a year without using banks until one day I found current (out of necessity) for the purpose of needing a debit card. Current offers an instant digital debit card as soon as you open your account. I didn’t plan on keeping the app. I continued making my account more complete as I filled out the blank spaces I was able to really appreciate the simple, yet overlooked features that many banks overlook or neglect. Within less than 30 minutes I had fully completed all of my information pages on the app (which never gets done because of the hassle). Not to mention the diverse options for security. There are so many options to personalize your experience. I love this app. Thanks to current I can confidently store my hard earned money and know that the next time I swipe my card I won’t be embarrassed by a declined purchase because my bank likes to kiss and tell using my debit card. ALSO GREAT OPTION FOR YOU TO GIVE YOUR KIDS THE CHANCE TO LEARN GOOD SPENDING HABITS WITH AN OPTION TO ADD A SECONDARY KIDS BANK ACCOUNT WITH THE ABILITY TO MONITOR ACTIVITY AND ADD OR REMOVE FUNDS.

WORST BANK FOR DISPUTES. I had Current for four or five years they’re dispute team is ridiculous. They do not have a dispute number so you can contact the dispute team and ask why your dispute ended this way. It’s 2024 the fact that they don’t have a dispute phone number or dispute number to get live. Support is ridiculous. If your card is stolen lost and it’s used and your proving that you didn’t make those transactions they do not care you could have a police report on your dispute claim they will still deny you. I provided receipts and police report and hospital bills to prove that it wasn’t me making a whole month of transactions and telling them I have been locked out of the online banking, and they still denied my claim making me lose, $3,347 of money that I can’t get back now I’m going to have to go out of my way and file a small claim court to get my money back because they can’t help me because it look like I made transactions in Houston when I live in Orlando!!! and nor do I have the time or the money to go to Houston for a month. so now I have to lawyer up to get my money back because I did not make those transactions so if you want to save yourself, the hassle do not bank with Current. They are the worst of the worst when it comes to disputing and trying to get your money back they do not want you to get your money back, I filed for claims and all of them have been denied. I never seen a lick of my money back, but obviously this was the last straw.

Garbage and trash stay away. Agree with other complaints about customers support being terrible!I had $815 in unauthorized charges went went through the dispute process and and waited over a week for for their team to send me email that states no error occurred and nothing would’ve be credited to my account. I never reported an error occurred I reported unauthorized transaction two particular the company names are unfamiliar I’ve never had any previous history of transaction from this merchant. I even submitted screenshot of conversation with merchant advising that I contact my financial institution to help with the unauthorized transactions. These clowns I don’t believe ever really investigated anything I believe it’s there policy to deny account disputes. Most banks provide a provisional credit for the amount of the transaction being disputed, but this bank doesn’t they deny your claim then email you that result. There is no way to contact support besides using the chat option in the app which is just horrible. The only way for me to get any information About my claim decision for the disputed unauthorized transaction was to to reply to the email they sent which is the only way to even communicate with there dispute department and I chat in and ask well when will the dept reply to email they tell me I have to wait 5 days for a response. These unauthorized transaction took half of my rent payment it’ s been more than 24 hrs and there still has been no communication and the chat folks refuse to allow me to open the disputes a offfering no help to me at all.

Decent but needs more work. After several months, the main checking card still isn’t available to use with Apple Pay, like the kids cards even though they said the feature was coming months ago. The chore feature is a very daunting task to set up and use, I think this part is good, but needs a major overhaul. Needs to add social media links for friend invites, I’m not texting or emailing every friend I have, just to send invites. You want us to invite, make it easy to make one social media post. I think the app could use and overhaul where kids can track their spending better and see the effects of every dollar they spend and maybe even offer them tips to make the most out of their saving money. Please remove the gift feature from kids cards, kids cards to not need the option to gift money to things they know nothing about, if any money is to be gifted, that is an adult only decision. Please remove direct deposit from the thinks to do list, if I want this option I will choose it, but I’m not going to feel pressured by constant screen nagging to do it. Please come up with a family friendly plan, I’m currently paying $108 a year because I have 3 kids, and if I want to add more it’s $36 per kid. How about a family price? Most families don’t have over 2 kids, so why not charge for two and additional kids are free. And that’s just with a basic plan, that’s why I won’t waste more money with a premium account cause that would cost me $60+ $108= $168 a year, and that’s ridiculous!! This app has potential, but needs some good development.

Awful!! Protect your money. Don’t use this.. I have tried nearly every allowance app and current allowed me to schedule regular deposits on a particular date. However, when I went to set up regular allowance for the kids, it only gave me the option to transfer directly from my bank. It is not even an option to transfer from the parent account. That is the entire appeal of the app is to manage allowance funds in one central location. We get paid monthly so a monthly transfer to the parent account makes sense. However we want to pay the kids weekly from the funds in the parent account. As of yet I have not been able to set this up. I contacted support last week but beyond an automated response that said they received my message, I am still waiting to hear anything back. The concept is a good one, but perhaps not effectively executed. **UPDATE: I had to drop to one star because not only have I not had a response to my email, but I have been trying to get through on the phone and after about 20 minutes of holding a recording came on and said we are currently receiving a large volume of calls. Please email (tried that) or try our online support. Click. It hung up on me! After all that waiting, it doesn’t give you the option to continue holding your place in line. It just drops you so you either start over or give up. I am not giving up until I get a full refund.

RIDICULOUS. I have used current for 3 years now. 3 YEARS. mainly because i just have everything hooked up to it and dont feel like changing my card/bank info on every subscription. my advice go to Chime, or some other mobile banking. Currents customer service is rude 9 times out of 10 and half the features the app claims to have don't actually exist or require 100 eligibility requirements. for example, they claim to have an instant deposit feature that’ll eventually be ready for you to use. I’ve been depositing the same exact check (as in from the same person) for the same amount every month of every year since getting this app, give or take a few months, and still have not unlocked that feature. so today I contacted support and said “hello I was just wondering when this instant deposit feature will unlock“ and the customer service representative responded, rather rudely, with “we don’t have an instant deposit feature“. i told him that when i deposited my check the info tab you can click says “it normally takes 2-3 days for check deposits but instant deposit will unlock as you use Current.” HIS RESPONSE “im sorry we don't have feature. Also it actually takes 4 - 5 days for check deposit” NO WONDER I ALWAYS GET MY CHECK DEPOSITS LATE AND WONDER WHY. BECAUSE YALL HAVE LIED ABOUT YOUR CHECK DEPOSIT FEATURES. this app would be amazing IF the customer service was nicer and they were HONEST about the app features.

Don’t use this App. Initially I believed I would love this app but I don’t recommend a banking app that you can only access from the mobile app itself. Current you really screwed your customers over by not creating a website along with the app that customers can access to love money around if they app crashes. I deleted the app and downloaded three times to see if it would fix the issue but the app continuously says something went wrong. I’ve tried WiFi and my own 5G internet which every other app works but this one. You guys are going to be a failed company I can already tell. Also don’t try to call their customer service because there isn’t one. It’s only automatic options. If you contact customer support it’s only through email which takes 24 hours! I’ve pressed every button on my phone and listened thoroughly to each command key to press and still no transfer to an actual human being. They refer you to use the app which isn’t good if your app is the issue. If I could give negative stars for the app and customer service I would. Step up the game Current because this isn’t it. I’m now going back to a different banking app that way I can always have access to real human being customers on the phone and multiple options of how to get to my money. I want people to know this is a legit review and not leading them to some other bank for promotion tactics this is someone that is genuinely fed up with these people.

DO NOT USE!!!. let me start this review by saying that a part of this is my fault. i got this account a while ago and decided that i wanted the premium account so i could get my deposits early. it was great and no problems. then some stuff happened and decided to close the account. it went smooth and easy. fast forward to yesterday... now this is where my stupid self comes in. i got money as a gift and accidentally put it in the closed account. a stupid thing to do, really. so i contacted them and told them and the person decided they would open the account so i could access the money. my plan was to cancel it after so it would transfer to my other bank account. i went to email them again to close the account and they got back to me right away, asking me why i wanted to and that they would close it. i told them why and then got nothing in return. i waited and got nothing. today i woke up and realized that they charged me for the account that i only had for one day. they literally waited to cancel it so they could charge me! i emailed them several times trying to get it cancelled and get the money back. for hours i tried. finally i had enough and decided to chat with w a live person. again, it took them about an hour to get back to me. in their defense, they did cancel it and give the money back. which is why i gave them three stars instead of one. as some of this is my fault. but in MY defense, i was never informed that the account would be charged the next day for a whole month that ends in three days. hope i never have to deal with this again

Easy but not helpful. Current is ok only reason I’m writing three stars is because customer service is honestly garbage. And they promote that there was $100 overdraft which honestly that’s not true at all. But back to my original complaint about customer service I had an unauthorized use and someone used a little cash out of my account and when I contacted support they basically said it would take three to six months to get that payment back after I fill out a mountain of paperwork and all that they could do is cancel my card and send me another one, but in the process they canceled the wrong card so I was stuck out and they did not ship the new card faster they basically told me to deal with it or use another Bank to link a virtual card so I can pay for stuff for my kids .they were not helpful and honestly I won’t be with them for much longer .only good thing is you will get your paychecks faster and tax return fast but outside of that it’s really nothing good. And if you change your phone number it is basically impossible for you to get back into your account even if you have an email link to it and they did nothing to help my wife she is still locked out of her current and the money is still sitting in there so basically they said deal with it so Hope this helps dudes

Mobile deposit. I really love the app and the security it integrates! The only thing I can say that would make this app impeccable to all others is the mobile check deposit verification needs a lot of work and guidance! I had a check that was from a JP Morgan account that a huge local car dealership had wrote me, for the refund of my balance of the extended warranty! I followed the instructions as I always do and went thru the verification period and after a few days passed I got on chat to see if they could find out why it wasn’t verified and funds available and they said it was pending and the next day it showed denied! I got on chat again and ask what the issue was and they told me the check was no good because it want real! Now I sit with a check that I have signed and have current mobile deposit and can’t do anything with but wait for the dealership to reissue me a new check! I just don’t feel that whoever did the verification either one, didn’t know what they was doing or two, didn’t know what they were doing! So I say a little more training on the process so they know who, when and where to get correct information when doing the verification process! Other than the hic-up on that the app is wonderful and good to its function! Just be a little aware when doing mobile deposits! Sincerely, Mr. Lagle

It’s really 0 stars for me. I’m only putting five stars because I can’t give 0 and people need to see this. Thought I’d try it out even though I was skeptical about it. I’ve been getting paid by my job 2 days prior ever since I switched to Dave and Albert. However, I wanted to try Current out. My job makes it very easy for its employees to switch accounts and add accounts whenever we want too, so last week I got my first check through Current while having a basic account I could see that on my normal payday of Tuesday the check was pending and it was released the next day, well this week I had a premium account which they actually do promise to deliver your check 2 days before your actual payday. Well yesterday I waited all day for my check to show up in the account, I mean there isn’t a check pending or anything. I’ve talked to 3 customer service representatives 2 had very bad attitudes because I had the most basic of questions and because once I found out that being a premium account holder sucked because you don’t get your check any earlier, I asked to go back to basic because premium cost 4.99/ mos. I’m probably just over the top and I don’t care because I don’t play about my money, so if you promise 2 days in advance you should deliver that. I’m going back to Dave because my savings accounts got paid yesterday. Just don’t do this to yourself you guys, if your use to getting paid 2 days before your actual payday just don’t do Current.

Hacked and customer service no help. Update** Three days later and the hackers are still attempting to use my daughters account, despite our reporting to Current the issue, and changing passwords several times. I had to have my parent side of the account removed completely to stop the scammers from trying to deposit money from my end. The scammer also tried to scam my younger daughters card as well. Lucky for us she had ignored the calls/texts before anything happened. Original review: The card we have for our kids got compromised. The hackers/scammers were very smooth. Had all of us fooled. The company isn’t being very helpful at this moment about returning the money, either. And even after contacting them about the fraud, somehow these scammers are still trying to use my account to steal money through my kids’ compromised account. I can’t remove the linked checking. Can’t pause it from making Deposits. It should only be allowing access via my Face ID, yet they still got in again. Looks like this is a new frequent issue for current users with these scammers yet no warning was sent out about this new scams. I do NOT recommend anyone use Current cards for your kids. They need to do better about security and be better about returning fraudulently stolen money and about earning customers when new scams are on the rise. We’ve been working with them for over two hours and there’s still no real resolution

This is the best financial app out there!. I have been using this app for years and it has only gotten better, with the new build card I have started to build credit and being able to have 4% apry for all 3 of my savings accounts means I am making about $1 a week on average just for having money that I would be saving up anyways. It’s also great to be able to still have access to my money with a virtual card even if I need to replace my old card(s) which I just did last month just because they’re getting old. It’s also nice to be able to send others money with the tap of a button and receive money from them just as easily. It’s safe secure and support will do everything they can to try and solve your problems and answer your questions. Your money is available anytime anywhere and you can easily turn your cards on/off anytime you might need to and block specific transactions or brands with a single tap. You can also use the Fee Free ATM Lovator to find the nearest ATMs that won’t charge you a fee to use them. You can deposit cash through some stores like Dollar General straight into your accounts. You can get fee free overdraft up to $200 when you have monthly direct deposits, you never get charged for using the overdraft if you ever need to use it. There are so many great features that you can’t get with a physical bank that make this app great and it makes saving money and building credit easier than anywhere else!

Impressed. I was hesitant at first and then I activated my card and I am seriously glad I did. I haven’t had Current for to long but the different things you can do from the app with you card is amazing. I have never had so much control over what I do with my money before. If I think I want to do whatever with my money there is a good possibility that I can within the app. Also the “Saving Pods” are amazing. Able to set up more then one and set a goal limit THAT I CONTROL and round up my card purchases and have that extra however much cents for into the Savings Pod is exactly what I needed. Best part is again I CONTROL THAT and I can switch anytime I want and send that into whichever one I want. Then the ability to link my cards and my other bank account and direct deposits to Current makes keeping track of finances so much easier. I am new to Current yes and I know there is so much more I can do with this account and I can’t wait to discover that. Again I am new to it but from what I have personally been able to do with Current I highly recommend Current and I have recommended Current to my friends and so far one has jumped on board the rest we will see its only been a day since I sent out the invites to join oh and yes your friends open an account from your recommendation you WILL I know because I have done it you WILL receive one dollar per friend that opens one. So easy to set up and use. Total control of your money. Paid one dollar directly into your account. I forgot to mention you earn points that can be cashed in for real money deposited into your account. Along with virtual cards. All that plus much more that I have seen but not done yet is amazing I recommend Current to all. Thank you current you have a lifetime member with me.

Cash-Out of CashApp and Cash-In on CURRENT!. This mobile banking app destroys all the others for many reasons! Not just 1. If your like me who’s like Every1 else who was excited about the idea of a mobile bank account fully controlled by app on your phone then you more than likely started with CashApp. But as time went on more mobile banking apps were born and I was a bit skeptical to venture outside of the original however cash app had many flaws and let’s not get into the constant denial of payments and transfers of MY MONEY it’s mine and should be able to do what I want when I want to without getting a 🚫constantly! So I tried chime which was a lot better than cash app for one reason which was no 🚫’s all the time but I wondered if this was good maybe something else could be better?.. that’s when I decided to try current and OMG 🤯 this app is the Holy Grail of mobile banking apps for MANY reasons I can’t list them all but just a taste: you can BLOCK any brand or company from ever making another charge to your account at the push of a button it’s AMAZING! So you tried an infomercials vitamins because you like the promises, it absolutely didn’t live up to it’s promises, you attempt to call and cancel as it promises you can do with ease, you get a run around or BS that has no end and no way to stop the monthly charges. Well Current puts the light at the end of the tunnel *Block Brand* boom take that Scammy infomercial. Current is the Answer to mobile banking apps. Thank you for your presence in this sketchy financial institution world we all live In. Your my hero!! :)

No accountability. HOMELESS AND PENNILESS THANK YOU CURRENT UPDATE after my horrible experienceWith Current I close my account not being told that I would not have access ever again to my account numbers routing numbers etc. when I went to change my direct deposit they require I gave them my old account number which I didn’t have so I am unable to change my direct deposit which is Social Security and due to that I am now homeless and penniless. Current wants me to send them an email from my original email address that I open my account with which had been hacked along with other things and no longer exist. I don’t have access to it only the hacker do. And because you were only able to communicate via email and you’re never addressed by the same person twice it took five days to be told oh sorry. Sorry for the inconvenience yes being homeless is very inconvenient being penniless is even more inconvenient shame on you current bank you call yourself a bank you’re not bank you’re a nightmare Any bank or any kind of company (Uber and Lyft) that has no phone number to call immediately shows the lack of accountability. I guess current is great if you never have an issue. Run don’t walk from this bank. There is no customer service and fox forbid you are unable to get into the app your totally screwed. You can’t even get your balance via a automated system. This bank hahahaha is the worst.

Fall from grace. We were early adopters of the original Current card, back before they even offered direct deposit, but they’ve now lost a long time customer for good. My daughter has been using this card without issue for over 3 years. Her original debit card was set to expire this month (March 2021). I figured, like every other bank I’ve done business with over the last 30 years, that they would automatically issue and send a new debit card to replace the expiring one. Well it’s 4 days before the end of the month and no card has arrived. I pop into the support chat to find out why and I was told “oh, well we can order a new card but it will take 7-10 business days and your existing card will be shut down leaving you with no access to your money”. Excuse me, what?? I was then told that Current does not automatically send out replacements for expiring debit cards (even though I had just paid our yearly renewal fee 3 weeks ago which should be a pretty big indicator that we planned to continue using the account) and they have to be manually ordered by the customer!?! Excuse me again, WHAT?? But wait! You can get a card expedited to you in 3-5 business days! Oh, but it will cost you $20! Terrible customer service, with zero empathy and no customer retention skills whatsoever. I mention I will close the account if we don’t find an acceptable solution and what does the CS agent do? Leaves the chat! It was fun while it lasted Current, but come next week, you’ve lost a customer for good. What a joke and a massive disappointment.

Customer service and Technical issue. I have a problem where I’m missing a feature on the app. That feature is being able to deposit cash to my account. The feature is completely gone nothing shows up. That means I’m unable to deposit and money to my account via cash. I contacted customer service and it wasn’t a good experience. My first “helper” told me to uninstall and reinstall the app because there seems to be a technical problem. So I did and it didn’t fix it. While all that was happening he wouldn’t bother to say “we’ll be right there with you” or “working on it” to indicate he was figuring out the issue or even on the line/chat. I was left there for a solid 5-10 mins waiting and wondering if he even saw my message. He seemed lost when I would explain the situation. With the second “helper” it was pretty much the same but I will say she was kind enough to let me know when they where working on it and to hold on. What they had in common about the both is that they would give incoherent responses. I don’t want to go to in-depth about it because it might just be that English isn’t there first language. In the end after a 30 min session of back and forth of pretty much making no progress, I still got no resolution to my problem. They just said we’ll notify you when we add the feature.

DONT DO MOBILE DEPOSIT. After looking at other reviews, I see that I am not the only one. I have waited since last Thursday for my mobile deposit to go through. It is now Friday, a week and a day later. I only did mobile deposit because at my old bank it took them about 5 minutes to deposit my paycheck into my bank account. If another bank can do it, they should be able to too. It is so frustrating to have the money sitting there pending but not being able to use it. They need to fix this or figure out a better solution for whatever “process” they have to do. People have bills to pay. The support is absolutely a joke. Some have been kinder than the others but just tell me the same exact thing over and over again. One agent even told me that I could go cash it elsewhere and it would cancel the pending deposit on my account, which I did try and of course it got declined. I seriously should not be struggling this bad financially when my check is just sitting there and no one is doing anything to help. They said it would be in today but it is now 11pm my time and still nothing. They honestly just need to take the option away so no one else falls into this trap. They’re obviously not listening to the reviews because I said one from a year ago and they haven’t done anything to fix this. It has been a great bank until this issue, now I’m considering switching.

PLEASE READ. Please believe me when I tell you that you should not use this bank!!! I thought it was good for the first year that I had it. But then I suddenly started getting charges on my account that I did not authorize and that were in a completely different state. I put disputes in each time and each time they told me that I apparently approved these charges and that I’m not gonna get my money back. I contacted current on the app and through email and they devices to just stop responding to me all together. I contacted the merchant and spoke with 3 different people and they all told me the same thing that my bank had to dispute it and contact them, THEY NEVER CONTACTED THEM. I lost over $500 in total then took all my money off of my card (mind you I already had my card locked and also blocked that brand after the first time that they even took $40) but they still let them charge me almost $300 more too so my account is in the negative by that much and as a result my credit score will go down or else I’d be forced to pay off something that THEY LET HAPPEN. ALSO almost forgot to mention, they don’t even have a legal team. There is no phone number for you to call when things like this happen, or anything else. There’s only an email and customer support. WHAT KIND OF BANK DOESN’T HAVE A PHONE NUMBER?! Please please just do yourself a favor and do not use this bank!!

Zero stars should be an option. By far the worst customer experience I’ve ever had with any bank/banking ap. When I opened the account and they sent out the debit card some how things got messed up on there end and according to there computer they never sent me a card. After several discussions with multiple people and being told that I would hear from the management team because my issue had to be escalated I finally gave up and linked an account to take my money back from them. They had my whole paycheck which I had no access to right at the beginning of the month when my rent was due. And the only answer I got from anybody over there is that I should being hearing from them through email in 1-2 days. So the people that you connect with are super incompetent and they can do nothing to help you except lie. All that above being said the $50 bonus is a scam to get your business and they will not give you the 50$ even after you do everything they want you to. Bad app, horrible customer service, and will not do what they say. Save yourself the agony and do not open an account with current. There are better choices out there. Needs work. It’s a good app all together, I do have an issue with the customer service. It takes forever to connect to a representative & once you do it doesn’t notify you so the representative usually just ends the chat if you don’t respond in a few minutes so you have to wait all over again to finally get connected to a new one. Also, if you need to dispute a charge that also takes forever. 30-45 business days I believe which is normal but I should at least be able to get my money back before that especially if it was fraud. I also don’t like the gas holds feature, say for example you only want to put 20 dollars in your tank & that’s all you have in your account, the gas station will try to charge you 100 bucks instead of 20. So it just declines at the pump and you have to pay on the inside. If you want to go to a bank atm to withdraw money, the atm already has a 2-3 dollar fee since it’s a different bank, but on top of that this card charges you another 2-3 bucks so all in all your fee is 5.50 or something like that which is way too much. It’s just little things I have issues with but other than that like I said, it’s a good working app.

It’s really 0 stars. Never again. So, when a customer makes a mobile deposit and Current accepts it a little ‘i’ shows up next to it. If one taps on the ‘i’ one is told “It can take 5 business days for a deposit to settle. Most will be available in 1-2 days.” According to the customer service rep I just spoke to, that last sentence is a lie. The first ‘business day’ is a full 24 hours after the check has been initiated in their system. Most people would expect the First business day to start directly after the check is accepted, not a full day later. I have never, not a single time, had a mobile deposit clear before the 5th business day. Who has time to wait 5 days, and not even 5 regular days (except Sunday of course) but “business days” for their money?? The check I am currently waiting on is from the IRS. If Current accepts a check, it should ‘initiate’ it right away. Definitely will be going back to a physical bank as soon as this last deposit clears.

THEFT. this service is ridiculous. my roommate “banks” with them and owed me money a couple months ago, she sent me the money from her bank account and current added my card to her account without any authorization. i have all my accounts at another bank and have NEVER banked with them or even heard of them. well fast forward a couple months after she sent me the money, every charge she was making with her card was coming out of mine. i had 300 dollars taken from me. we called current bank to ask what was going on and they said they had been having this issue and then said they’d fix it. they then had the audacity to ask if i wanted to bank with them after they essentially stole my card information ?? we said no and then told them we were going to be removing all the funds and banking somewhere else and then to NOT put her card on hold. 20 minutes later they call to confirm with us we wanted to put the card on hold, we then said for the second time we DIDNT want the card on hold and then the next day find out they put the card on hold anyways. this is an awful service and you are better off banking with a real bank.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE BEWARE ❗️❗️❗️❗️. I was with this company for over a year I took $150 out of an out of network ATM I contacted current because I did not get the money that was supposed to be dispensed from the ATM I contacted current for them to file a claim it took them one year to decide that they were not going to replace the money that I never received I had to keep reaching out to them I never received any emails that the chat customer service stated they sent out when I did receive an email it stated that my dispute has been overturned and there was an error on their part when I contacted Current again they told me that the email was sent in error and that my claim has been closed I asked how was the claim closed when I received no update on the status of what’s going on with my claim they refused to replace the money and now I have to file a civil lawsuit to get my money back so I would basically be putting out more money then I was supposed to receive from this company current is not a good company they fraud customers into believing that they are here for the customer but that is a LIE I warning you do not sign up for this account they took down the customer service number to contact a live agent and blame COVID amd that’s the reason they don’t have live agents

Not secure. I downloaded the app based off the recommendation of a mom friend. I have had the app for 2-3 weeks, I’ve been trying to add my bank account with no success, I kept getting a error message saying my bank was having issues. But when I went to add my bank card information it went through with no issue. But it charges a fee to use a bank card as opposed to using a bank account which is free. So I opened a chat to speak to a representative. I told him my issue of not being able to add my bank account. He didn’t seem to understand for the first 10 minutes of the conversation. Then at the end he asked me a second time which bank I was trying to add and when I told him again. He sent me a list of banks and said PNC was not one of the companies they did business with. So I told him I had other accounts with two other banks which were on his list that they did business with and he just left the chat. That made me wanna delete the account and discontinue doing business with them. So I screen recorded the whole conversation and sent in a request to have my account cancelled and the rep had not even read my message and sent an email to ask why I wanted to cancel the account.

Review. This app has the potential to be great. I signed up 30 days ago. I had to wait the full 30 days before I could sign up my 2nd kid. There should definitely be a way to bypass the trial period if you want to pay for additional kids. The chores option is awesome, love it. I’m also able to transfer money instantly, great! However, the communication so far for me is 2-stars. It’s peoples money being managed, the communication should be much better. My first email inquiry, I got a response 2 weeks later. My second issue that I’m trying to resolve, I tried the chat, no one comes on. Then when they responded by email they just gave me a generic response that had nothing to do with the issue I was having. Would like to continue with app, but I won’t if I can’t communicate when there are issues. Update: Bumping my review up to four stars! I finally got some help and got certain issues resolved! The features in the app are perfect, but I really hope the communication improves, then I would definitely give 5 stars. I can say the person who helped the final time was nice and very knowledgeable!

Best Bank Ever. To start off, I receive my paycheck two days earlier than my colleagues, which is a fantastic perk. The processing time for checks is impressively quick, and returns are promptly credited back to my card within the same day. Just wondering….. I have had a Current account since around 2018. However, I actually began having my employer direct deposit to my account since 2019. I do not have any complaints except for one! Current claims that they make funds available for you as soon as the employer sends a deposit to your account. I have worked for the same employer since Jan, 2021! The ONLY consistency is that if I receive a DD at 4:30pm one week the very next week will be the exact same, but from each two weeks period, it is NEVER the same, yet my employer sends payroll on the same day each week on Monday! The timeframe is anywhere between 3:47pm-anytime on Tuesday!! So, I totally understand that the promise of making your check available asap is a good idea to get more customers! However, why not appeal to the customers you already have and add the functionality of being able to track a DD as a “pending deposit” that way the customer can actually see that their money is on the way! If I’m not mistaken doesn’t count it against you if you “miss” a DD towards your overdraft as well as how much you can borrow on a “payday advance?” You see my problems as well as my concern!

Current is really the Goat. I've had CURRENT since it rolled out and to this day I have had 0 issues or negative experiences. The CURRENT app is loaded with all the modern banking features and tools one needs to have full access and management to your money at any moment. Direct deposits and external bank transfers are almost always posted to your account the same day, you can create different pods and transfer money to these pods, you cant set different budgets and view your spending activity and insights all in one place. I currently also can't with chase but CURRENT has become my primary choice and default banking. I barely use my chase account anymore. CURRENT most definitely puts an end to the traditional boring way of banking and replaces it with a fresh, modern, fun, and flexible banking experience. It's a better way of banking, a different way of banking, and it's my CURRENT way of banking. Get yourself a CURRENT account, start banking smartly and modernly 😊😍🥇🏦💜❤️

Very helpful for my teen. This is helping my teen learn the value of money and budgeting. It is also wonderful to know when he is on school trips away from me that I can quickly transfer $ to his card within minutes if something unexpected comes up and not have to give him a bunch of what if cash- he goes on a lot of out of town contests! He used to ask me for certain things not realizing costs and now he compares prices and it is helping him to be a better spender and saver! I am able to set his weekly allowance and if needed I can transfer $ into his account immediately. One thing to note is that you need to have $ transferred from your bank into your parent current account ahead of time because it does take several days for it to clear. Once the $ is in your parent account though you can transfer to your child’s account as needed within minutes. Also if your child “owes” you $ for something it can be transferred from their account back to yours! I love that my son can have his card and not have to carry cash especially on those trips he takes with school.

Dont travel with money in current account. If you lose your card while traveling you are out of luck and they will refuse to help you. They will only send to address on file and there is no way to get your cash. Pay $5 for replacement in 7-10 days to address on file or “expedite” for $25! And it still takes 5 or more days for replacement and only to address on file. For a “current” bank they should call themselves “out of date”. With PayPal I can pull my cash out from Walgreens, Walmart, cvs by using the app in case something happens to card I’m not without MY money. The virtual card consistently asks for a pin and the online chat help has no answer or solution. “Run it as credit” they say, did that doesn’t work asks for pin still. SUPPORT WAS ZERO HELP AND ONLY TELLS YOU THEY CAN ORDER CARD TO ADDRESS ON FILE. They can’t help with virtual card, they can’t help with getting your cash, they can’t do anything besides say too bad. My next deposit I am getting replacement card, pulling all cash out, closing this useless account and deleting this app. What a waste of time. Oh I’m stranded over 5 hours away from home with no access to MY MONEY. THANKS FOR NOTHING CURRENT.

DO NOT MESS UP. I was somewhat enjoying having the app as a teenager, but it was impossible to do anything without an adult supplying the money. Then once I turned 18 it locked me out until I could provide proper identification. I put in the wrong stuff and they locked me out permanently. I emailed them and they didn’t even respond to my question. I guess they have default responses when it detects certain words because I said ‘information’ maybe twice and the email back was about “sorry you’re concerned with the information we take”. Um, what? Nice to know they don’t read it until the second email. So it took me 2-3 days to figure out I have to find a new application and there was nothing they could do for a mistake——it took less time to receive appointment approval for a mammogram during COVID. You might think, oh can’t you make a new account? No. Never. You can only make an account via the app and you can only sign in with the same details after that so the apps useless on my phone now. In conclusion: Don’t get it as a teenager unless you have someone willing to give you money, DO NOT mess up an ounce of information or you’ll lose everything in your account, and expect your questions to take at least 72 hours for a proper response.

Worst Bank I have ever used. I have been using current for a while now as well as my wife. I have cancer and have been battling it ever since 2020 and we got a check from an amazing non profit called ink against cancer to pay for my treatment. We are now on the 4th business day and the funds are still not on my account and I am not able to get my treatment now because of it. The funds show deposited as of this morning and current is still saying its not available. I’m have spoken with multiple agents through the app trying to speak with a supervisor and no one would get me one. I also asked to be contacted on Monday and come to find out no one submitted my request and it’s now Wednesday. Both me and their bank have tried to get ahold of someone through current and haven’t been able to since this whole thing started. We got this account because we heard so many good things but with our experience the customer service has been terrible and no one has been able to help me or contact me yet. If you are looking for a mobile bank I would go with another company. I wanted to love this bank so much but I’m sticking to a normal credit union from now on once this whole thing is resolved.

Way better options. Update: response from developer is that checks may take 3-5 business days to clear. I understand the policy. I don’t understand why it takes them 3-5 times longer than every other bank I’ve ever dealt with either professionally or personally. I’ve banked with Simple for yrs but recently found out they would be closing. I found Current and thought it would be similar to Simple and set up an acct. I added money to my Current acct from my Simple acct which took around 5-6 days for the funds to be available for me to use. I then tried to use the photo check deposit. It took 4 days, 6 if you count the wknd, for my funds to become available to use. I don’t have the option to use direct deposit, because I work for a small business that doesn’t offer it as an option. Never in my life have I ever used or heard of a bank taking this long to make funds from a deposited check available for use. With Simple if I had my photo check deposit submitted before 4:00pm on Friday, my funds were available by 2:00am on Saturday. I guess the point of this is if you don’t mind waiting a week to have deposited funds available for use then this is the bank for you.

Dope. Also love the color scheme.. I love current so far. At first I was skeptical when I first signed up only because I didn’t know if my money from my direct deposit was going to be loaded on my card on time or not since I was switching from another bank. Customer service is only available on weekdays from 9am-6pm which would be inconvenient if you stumbled across an issue on the weekend. Anyway I kept calling and they kept saying they don’t know anything until payday but eventually my money was loaded two days earlier on my regular white card. My premium black card didn’t even arrive yet but was still able to use all the benefits! Also I love the color scheme lol. I love pink I think it’s dope to have a colorful bank card instead of the boring originals out there. I would actually prefer to use the regular white card white then colorful outer rings over the premium black one. But that’s just me. If you want to chose a direct deposit card and don’t want a real bank for personal reasons. I suggest current! They’re dope.

THIS APP IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!. I wouldn’t even recommend this app even if someone held me hostage and forced me to. I never wanted to cuss out a customer service agent so bad. They are clueless and can’t do anything and clearly don’t know how to communicate with customers or each other. They give you a virtual card to use while your waiting on your physical one to arrive in the mail..what they don’t tell you is that you can’t even use it!!!! I tried to use my virtual card with the Apple Pay feature and it didn’t even work. I contacted customer support asking them if the virtual card works at any stores that accept Apple Pay and they told me that I can use my virtual card at any store I can have to accept “credit” instead of “debit” since my virtual card doesn’t have a pin. IT DID NOT WORK. Then I talk to someone else and they tell me that my virtual card is only accepted by merchants who accept virtual cards...after I just tried to use Apple Pay, with a merchant, WHO ACCEPTS VIRTUAL CARDS. I was so over it completely. THIS BANK WON’T LET YOU DO ANYTHING WITHOUT YOUR PHYSICAL CARD. Mind you I ordered my card 7 days ago..and it’s still not here. This bank restricts you of YOUR MONEY. I am not able to access it in any way all because I don’t have the actual physical card. THIS APP IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Current really gets 0 stars. The reason I put five stars is because people need to see this. Current deserves zero stars. Set up was easy. I enjoyed the initial simplistic design. However, problems started to arise. 1 was the constant pop-ups for direct deposit and inviting a friend. I will do neither. 2 checks take a very long time to clear. 3 Checks often failed to deposit with no explanation. 4 support is the worst I’ve ever encountered with a bank. Anytime something goes wrong. They claim they have no idea why and that you should check with the issuing bank. We all know the issuing bank has no idea what is going on and the fault is at Current. They’re just trying to get you off the chat. 5 initially the UI seems simple enough, but after using it for a few months, it’s one of the worst designs I’ve ever encountered. 6 there is no phone support. There’s only chat support and it’s awful. Avoid this bank. 7 there is no automated cancel procedure. You must contact support and they will ask you numerous personal questions to verify your identity before they will close your account. This is known as a “dark pattern”. Finally, the response to this review is a “we are so sorry. please contact our support team” none of these problems can be fixed by contacting support. These problems are inherent to the design of the business and nothing will change until execs get fired.

Also my entire payroll has been spent snd I have no access to spend my own money so go figure, this is truly baffling me because it begin over a phone number change because I was receiving small withdrawals from my account and even after I blocked this vendor which was not one I used my account was compromised fir my entire payroll . Don’t use this app. I’ve been banking with current for a little over a year, and everything was going fine until I had an unauthorized charge on my account. So I file a dispute and the app says disputes typically take 90 days to process but you could get processed faster than that. I wait the full 90 days still no response I wait 2 weeks after, then 3, then 7, now here we are 12 weeks after the original 90 days of waiting for my dispute response. I contact customer support several times within these 12 weeks of waiting after my initial 90 days was over and all they keep saying is “we are sorry that it is taking longer than expected but you will hear from our dispute team with an update soon” so I ask them “what’s the dispute teams phone number or email?” And they all say the same thing “the dispute department doesn’t have an email or phone number so you can’t contact them” but if I’m suppose to receive an email from the dispute team with an update on my dispute why is there no email I can contact them and ask questions. The customer service is pure trash and I will be closing my account once I hear back from the dispute team.

customer service is a joke. customer service refuses to be of any help, is not transparent about the mobile check deposit process at all. I deposited a check on 10/04 at 9:41 am. They told me it can take 3-5 business days to be completed. Fine, whatever I did not need it until today anyway. I was also told if I deposit the check before 5 pm that it will begin processing same day. Now they are telling me that the check will not be processed until 10/11. completely messing up my entire week of bills that need to be paid. I've reached out and spoken to 4 different reps one of which was a supervisor and none of them have been helpful. They are very unprofessional when they speak to you. One of them, Neil, told me i "should've deposited earlier" and that was his only piece of advice for me. I work in customer service, so I try to be understanding and stay cordial even when the outcome is less than favorable for me, but this is just ridiculous. I have never had a heck held for this length of time before. If you are someone with a tight budget like myself who literally cannot afford to have a check be late like this DO NOT USE CURRENT. The amount of stress I am under now because my bills cannot be paid is immeasurable.

I like it. App works great, features of the account are amazing but i could deal with some extras. I understand that there is an internal algorithm that determines how much one can overdraft their card but i have seen some people that make less and overdraft more often and they are sitting at $100 available to overdraft in a matter of months whereas i rarely do so and have had the account longer yet am still stuck at a lower amount. Personally i think there should be a publicly accessible chart on how to get to a certain amount. Then there is the pay times. I know that i have to wait till my job sends out the info for my check and then it has to be filtered by the federal reserve, but it would be nice if it had a set time/day that my money was to be on my card as opposed to a 3 1/2 day time frame, excluding holidays and weekends. Lastly it would help if i could have a second physical card as my phone’s NFC chip is broken and i cant utilize tap to pay until i get a new phone so the virtual card is of zero use to me but i have transactions i need to reverse and cant be without my money for 2+ weeks and cant carry cash due to my job and the dangers at work (I work armed security). If i had the ability to have a new card issued to me and sent out BEFORE i cancel my old card so i can keep access to my money during the process. Other than that, the card is amazing as is the account. I recommend it to a lot of people and get a smile when i see others with the same card as me.

Love It. I love this Current online banking. It so wonderful and simple to use. There customer service can be a little better then it is now. I love how they have they Credit Card builder. I have a idea for current you have to much rules for the spot me where you need to have a deposit and current with lend you the money and then take if from your check. I get more the $2,000+ a month and I am not even offered the spot me (lend) up to $100-$200. Please fix that. Another idea I have for current, you guys should start doing insecure and secure Credit Cards, and also loans. You guys are pretty much there. Another idea is as current customers we should have a better and have access to a Web banking not just Mobile banking. I wanna be able to log in my account. There many times that I forgot my phone, but had a computer at work but can’t log in became it a mobile platform. Other then that Current been good to me. 5 stars all the way.

I still am suspended and I haven’t even used it.. I haven’t used the app fully or even at all all because I tried to make a new account for someone else on my phone and it wouldn’t let us and when I tried to sign in, it suspended me for suspicious activity. I STILL SEE YOU HAVING SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCERS GETTING SPONSORED TO ADVERTISE THIS WHEN YOU CANT EVEN RESPOND TO SIMPLE EMAILS OR DO ANYTHING TO HELP! You send generic emails that are all the same. Get customer service because a coffee shop and literally every other bank card has this figured out 100x better. I barely signed in for more than maybe a total of 5 minutes of use at most and “suspicious activity” is something a robot decided because I tried to make a new account for someone else on the same device! I still have your physical card too! Can’t use it. I’m sick of seeing the app on my phone and not ever getting an email response. Don’t bother using current. Read the reviews where people have no customer service because I rarely complain about anything let alone apps you can delete. I haven’t spent a dime or entered a dime into this account and I’m here to tell you to look elsewhere unless they can provide simple service.

Like/dislike!!. I absolutely love current.! It’s just a few things I probably hate. (1). how when I first enrolled and set up direct deposit and referred someone for current as well and they also set up direct deposit and is currently using “Current” as well neither one of us EVER RECEIVED OUR $50 CASH BONUS as we should have! (2). Is the overdraft protection it was suppose to be $200 overdraft but obviously that was a lie. We started off receiving $25 overdraft and YOU can’t withdraw at an ATM. We got to get SOO many direct deposits to even get OUR overdraft boosted up..thumbs down! (3). Is how I get charged like $5.00 every month just for banking through YALL?!?! I never read anything about that when I first started banking w/ YALL?!?! And it’s a few other issues/things I dislike I just can’t think of right now…but other than all that! I definitely like banking with Current!! I haven’t yet to be disappointed on anything big minus my small concerns/issues..IJS❤️❤️

I love it! So far so good!. It empowers my teen twin sons in spending decisions based on their account balance instead of mine! They don’t have to ask me for money anymore, they get their weekly allowance automatically! I love the chore section! I can get them to do their chores faster! They can see the chore payment set up and they know the funds won’t be released until they complete their chore! You wouldn’t believe how much faster they move to get their chore completed lol (love it! ). Plus it teaches them how to bank, which these teens needs to learn before they become adults and make bad spending choices. They can save and puts money in their savings account. The giving account is wonderful. Teens needs to master the art of selflessness! I love this app so far so good. The yearly fee is affordable and worth it! A few things that are confusing however, when I set up an allowance, once it’s posted, the allowance I set resets and I’m confused as to if I need to reset. In the confusion, I set the allowance three times and now three payments were made when I only meant to set one allowance weekly.

Current steals your money. Beware current will steal your money and change your bank statements to make it look like they didn’t. This is the second time I’ve dealt with it. The first time I thought I wasn’t paying attention to my balance but I still know my money disappeared and this time I have proof that they did steal my money and they changed my bank statements to back them up. Current is literally so low down for that. Support didn’t help. They sent me my bank statements and I told him those bank statements are not true that current is stealing my money. I keep up with my money and this is really unbelievable. This is not a real bank. Take your business somewhere legit cause these are fraudulent scammers. Btw current if you read this, don’t think you can get away with stealing my $30. Cause now I will use your $150 overdraft and never pay it back. That account will remain open until the day I die. But I won’t use it. I’m taking my business to another bank. So jokes on y’all.

Don’t Waste Your Time.. If you want to have someone steal money from you through card fraud and have Current give you back the money and then take it back months later causing your account to be in debt because they all of a sudden decided there was no proof then this online bank is for you. If you would like to form a dispute with credible proof of scam tactics and it take months for them to dispute it even after the date they said it would be done then this online bank is for you. If you would like to have to wait in a hold without even being able to call anyone just talk to people on the app and have people close the conversation without getting you your help then this online bank is for you. Do you see where I am going with this? Do not let them try to butter you up with how much they seek to have to offer. It’s all fun until it gets down to the nitty gritty in which case they are very unreliable and have barely any communication skills. Your better off just getting Chime. I’m going to a brick and mortar bank, preferably Chase, so that I can have easy access to help whenever I need it and I can account for everything that I have. Don’t Waste Your Time. ✨🕊

Better than cashapp. honestly it’s such a good app and a way better alternative to cashapp, chime, etc. i love the colors of the app (black & purple are my fav lol) and they even let you do a decent amount of customizing (profile pic, banner) not too long ago I had to reach out to support and they were super nice & friendly plus they(John Rey) actually helped me! I’ve tired multiple apps to help monitor my credit & for the first week it works but they never showed my updated score/payments BUT with current i’ve actually seen updates which is super ensuring! the savings pods are cute too, along with the budgeting, i really like that it ACCURATELY shows the percentage/amt used towards that budget. I do wish that you could make your own customer categories for the budget but they pretty much got most areas covered. cash flow & the monthly spending tracker are nice too :). 10/10 recommend this banking app over any others!

Virtual card -current. I’d like to say that the virtual card feature that current allows you to enable while you wait 400 years for your actual card in the mail , is dang near USELESS!!! I opened this account to get $50 from a promo that states all I had to do was open the account & add $25 to it in order to receive the $50. I open the account. I use cash app to transfer the money INTO the account through the virtual card and it worked fine. Then a day later when I went to add the & back to my cash app the transaction kept declining. This was because current requires that you use a physical card to add money to cash app or even to send $ current account to current account . I’ve never had an issue with a virtual card not acting as a regular card with any other bank . It’s pretty ridiculous. My $ is basically stuck til I get my real card in the mail. SMH. Hopefully they honor the $50 promo but I haven’t seen that yet and wouldn’t be surprised but it’s crazy the card worked fine for me to add the $. But not to take it away.

Do not get it!!!!. Get ready because your about to hear a long story as to why I gave this app and a very generous one star. Least start off by saying at first it was fine when using the teen account when my parent would send me money if your only going to use it for that your fine. But DO NOT i repeat DO NOT use it for direct deposit ITS TERRIBLE. I put money on my card and noticed that it was not showing up on my spending balance so I contact the support people. Mind you THEY HAVE NO PHONE LINE. It’s all through text. And they tell me that on their end it’s showing up that I have money on there. I explain to them I can’t purchase anything because it’s saying my balance is zero. they couldn’t do anything for me so I had to wait 3-4 DAYS. Thankfully it came but not in a timely manner. So I have them a second chance. I used direct deposit I got paid two days ago with still nothing in my account I gave them some time because Veterans Day was the other day. But today I decided to contact them to see what’s going on after 15 mins she tells me that my money arrived in another account HOW IN THE WORLD DID MY MONEY ARRIVE IN ANOTHER ACCOUNT. I only have one account so what other account is there.......... and that’s why you should NOT USE CURRENT FOR ANY DIRECT DEPOSITS OR ADDING MONEY

Customer Service. The chat feature is very slow, instead of offering a notification when an agent has entered your chat, they just move on to the next person with no regard as to how long you were waiting. When you call in personally, they say the wait time is 6 minutes but yet you wait on the phone 18+ minutes just for them to come to the phone and say “Current is experiencing extremely high call volume, you can visit us in app” then they disconnect the phone with no regards for the wait time. Then when you add funds from your debit card they’re only available instantly when you do it from the tab located under account, if you select the option from the main screen it’s says pending for however long. I’m extremely dissatisfied. *2nd update* I was trying to send money to someone using cash app, but yet my card number came back invalid... so I tried to login to my account and see what the issue was.. but yet I was hit with a “your account is under review for abnormal activity 0and someone will reach out to you when the review is completed” and of course customer service is not available right now, so I’m SOL with no access to MY money. I’m high irritated and dissatisfied.

Acct is locked with my money in it and I can’t speak to anyone...really?. I researched 4 or 5 different card options similar to this one and I chose Current because I liked that I could assign tasks for payment to the kids and that they could request money. What I didn’t like was that it took 2 days to transfer funds. But after a couple transactions I was “approved” for immediate availability of funds. That was great but then there was an issue when current send a notification that the approval had been revoked because the funds weren’t paid. There was money in the account so I was confused. Instead of being able to call them and resolve it like every other service Current only gives you the option to email customer support. FRUSTRATING!!! The responses are slow and it’s absolutely ridiculous that in a business where you deal with OTHERS MONEY that you would have NO OPTION TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE. So now my acct is “suspended for review” AND I CAN’T REACH ANYONE TO DISCUSS IT AND RESOLVE IT so my money sits in a Current acct that I can’t even sign into while they are “reviewing”. And for something that has no website access the app isn’t detailed enough.

Deserves 5Stars. I’ve used this banking app for about 6 years and I’ve never had any problems with it. I don’t pay anything and I have multiple different cards that are nice looking. Having multiple cards is helpful so me and my gf have access to the atm, plus I have a credit card through them as well that helps build credit! I always get my money instantly when doing transfer from other apps and get paid early always! The app layout is super easy to use. The only thing I don’t like which I know they do for my own protection but they only allow $500 to be withdrawn from the Atm daily. I feel like $800 would be more appropriate. The app connects with all other apps like FB, Cashapp, Venmo, Zelle, and even cash advance apps. Also if you get direct deposit they let you overdraft if you need to. I love banking with Current and have had a frat experience with them the past 6/7 years. I always recommend Current to my friends.

Smooth Sailing Now!. I’ve made my Current account & have had it for about 2-3 weeks now. I have the free account to check it out then upgrade it to the monthly payments. I like the layout of the app it’s beautiful, but not user friendly to everyone unless you look up where what is & that’s how you get much insight or just by playing in the app to see what you have. Today I just received my card it’s been a little longer than I expect. They said it would take up to 5-7 business days to receive & it took a little longer than expected. So I had to use the temporary card on my Apple Pay to use it in physical stores. If they don’t take Apple Pay then it was a hassle. I had to download the stores app to be able to purchase (Such as Tropical Smoothie, & Walmart) after that everything was smooth. The only other thing was depositing my money from my other bank account. It took forever & it’s not a good way to transfer money. Such as Cash App. Other than that I’ll see what Current is about now & update later on maybe. Oh & customer service is very nice & helpful they let you know what they can.

No Support. Two months in and my card has already been hacked. The debit card, which I’d only used once, was compromised and $350 was charged to TikTok. I don’t even have a TikTok account. While taking my dispute via chat, they expected me to give every transaction number rather than just voiding every TikTok charge this morning. Then they later told me that I’d have to contact them AGAIN after the charges are final (one week) to go through the dispute again and they’ll “help” me file a dispute of the charges with TikTok. I’ve been banking for 30 years and have never had an issue like this before, which makes me wonder why it was compromised so fast. I’ve had security alerts before on my regular bank debit card and it went SO MUCH SMOOTHER than this. I didn’t have to contact them multiple times; they contacted me once. I can’t imagine any legitimate bank making it so hard to dispute charges. I’ve already changed my auto-deposit AWAY from this “bank” and back to my traditional bank. UPDATE: They denied my dispute, even though I don’t even have a TikTok account and there’s NOTHING supporting me making these charges. They basically stole $350 from me. Avoid this card unless you hate your money.

App tells your that your account is suspended due to fraudulent activity. I ordered this service for my 3 teens. My younger teens were able to download the app, log in, and get started. My oldest son got a message immediately when he downloaded the app and tried to set up an account, that his account was suspended due to suspicious activity. He emailed customer support and it has now been several days with no response. I went ahead and activated his card tonight from the parent portal. Signed out, thinking that maybe it was his phone causing the issue, and now I’m locked out with the same message. The app won’t even let me put my phone number in, I just keep getting the message that my account is suspended due to suspicious activity—but yet, I can even put my phone number in to attempt to log in again. I went the website, and it just directs you back to download the app to your phone. So there is no way to get access from a desktop either. So now, I cannot see, not transfer money to my other two kids until this is resolved. Looking for a different company now to go through. I’ll be spending $5 a month and I plus one of my kids have zero access to our accounts. No bueno!

More than 1 week to get money. I set up the card, requested transfer of money into my “primary” account on 11/6. It is 11/13 and it still has not been deposited. I set up allowances for Friday, it got deposited Tuesday. Granted Monday was a holiday but i thought she would get the money Friday. I called customer service about the initial deposit, she said they put a 5 day hold before the money gets deposited! What?! What happened to instant transfer. She said once the money is in my account, i can instantly transfer to my daughter. So i basically have to predict 1 week in advance what my daughter may need or keep a reserve in my primary account. That is not what was advertised. Then she said once i pay the annual fee, transfers would be instant! Wouldn’t it better to show how well it works so people actually want to continue with the card. As opposed to making us a wait a week to get a transfer and wanting to cancel the card before the 30 day trial is even over? Il very tempted to cancel this trial period. Update: finally got the money in my account. I tried to transfer the amount into my daughters account and it said insufficient funds?!?! Getting VeRy frustrated.

Current is hands down the best online banking. I would not lie about a company just for the eff ove it! But this card is better than all other cards I’ve used. From Venmo, Varo, Chime, Cashapp, PayPal, Netspend, Rush Card, GreenDot, Wisely, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Zelle, I mean I literally have had every single mobile banking app that is available for the public! And I have to say no one is comparing to current! Y’all better stop sleeping on this app! I was even able to rent a vehicle using the app because they offer a credit card as an option to spend your available funds through. This ish is absolutely the best. A few times I was charged by companies twice or was charged for something I canceled and current normally takes care of everything! I love banking with them. Only problem I had was a charge that was not even their fault. And they are normally available to help with any issues that arise. I will be a customer as long as they allow us to do so. Get yourself a Current Mobile Banking account NOW!!!!

So far, so good. I was skeptical about Current at first because when I reached out to their customer service, the representative was very rude and didn’t answer my question so I left the chat. I decided to still give it a chance and set up my direct deposit. I received my first direct deposit from my second job today and it wasn’t deposited until 11:30AM. I was happy that I got paid two days early but I wasn’t happy about the late deposit. Nevertheless, the good part about Current is the fact that they send you balance updates when you make a purchase. The updates include the amount you spent and the remaining balance on your card. I also like that you can tap your card to pay. That’s a pretty cool, fast, and efficient feature as well. So far, I haven’t had any major issues with Current. I gave them 3 stars because of the late deposit and the rude customer service rep. I may come back and update my review over time if positive changes occur. So, as of now I would say give it a try. If you’re a skeptical and untrusting person like myself, you can take my review as a guidance for making the decision to create a bank account.

Waste of time. This app has waiting times on top of waiting times and more hoops for you to jump through to access your money! Deposited a check and the “date available” date keeps changing and of course you can’t just call and speak to someone about it so you have to chat with someone who is anything but helpful, even came off as rude! I thought this would be a good service to use as it’s just to hold “extra” spending money and online shop with this card but if you can you’re better off banking with a REAL bank or heck, even cashing checks at Walmart is better than this! I have no idea where the 4.7 star rating comes from, because if I could I wouldn’t have even given it a 1 star. Bottom line, waste of time and money because they are sure quick to take the “service” fee they charge to provide you with everything except service…just a whole lot of stress and frustration!

They aren’t a bank, they are thieves !!!!. While I was in the hospital in critical care with COVID and pneumonia hooked up to all kinds of machines and oxygen someone used my physical card and spent over a grand of my money. I sent in proof I was in the hospital. There was no way I spent that money since I couldn’t even get outta my hospital bed by myself. I was denied their card holders protection and they refused to get my money back. I will never use them again. I’m spending the last little bit I have in my account so I can close it and be done with Current. I really hope y’all learn from my experience with them and go somewhere else so your money is safe, because it is NOT safe with Current. Current isn’t a bank, it’s a free for all for thieves to get away with stealing your hard earned money. Also, one of my kids has a card and their own account but linked to mine and they can’t even get to their money because Current won’t set up their account. It says it’s been set up by her already, which it hasn’t!! So she can’t even get to the $300+ she has in her account even though she has her card. They won’t activate her physical card or her online card. So they are holding her money and I doubt she will ever get it back.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD. I downloaded current about 5 days ago and all i did was set up the account and was waiting for the card to arrive to my house. i did not change my bank information on my job file because i wasn’t going to have the card in my possession, therefore i wasn’t going to have my check. as i was reading more reviews about this app i decided to deactivate my current account because i did not think it was worth having since i use a credit union i already get paid two days earlier. fast forward today (thursday the 8th) i haven’t received my check so i go into my jobs website to check my personal information and my bank account was updated to their bank! i did NOT do this, i knew i wasn’t gonna have the card so i didn’t update the information on my jobs website. now as i’m trying to log into my current account it says my account is deactivated and to concuss customer support to resolve whatever issue they have. i don’t know if i’m gonna be able to get my money back from this account, if it’s locked in there? i’m not sure what’s going to happen. mind you this is a full two weeks with of my check & i was really needing it:( . please do not download current, it’s a big scam 😭

Perfect. I got two cards for my niece and nephew as a Christmas gift. I did it as a way to send them a little money each month for allowance to help my sister out while she was going to school. My sister was also able to add herself as a parent. It took a little bit of time because the security feature for adding another adult to the count was a part of the process. I’d choose security over convenience any day. I was surprised by the fact that the kids actually watch their money and spending habits better with the card then when they had cash in hand. My sister actually loves it more than the kids do and she tells everybody about it. The cards gives peace of mind because you can easily transfer the money in an emergency or transfer money out. You’re able to view all the spending that goes in and out of the kids accounts. They also realized for the first time that when you use cards or checks or other items of payment there is an actual connection to real money. These items don’t offer unlimited access to money sources. They both have become pretty frugal since getting the cards. When they go out to dinner with their friends, they order water or off the children’s menu sometimes if they’re not very hungry. Even more importantly they started paying attention to the cost of what they choose from the menu when they’re out with their mom or dad or grandparents who are on a limited budget. 👍👍

Avoid this, wouldn’t recommend. The only good benefit you get from this “bank” is getting paid a few days earlier and sometimes you probably won’t get it early at all depending on where it’s coming from. The 4% APY savings isn’t worth it, unless you’re saving thousands of dollars which I definitely wouldn’t recommend, people money has disappeared out of their account with no explanation from Current , just rude and confused customer service reps. I wouldn’t recommend using this as a everyday banking account. They’ll almost never follow through with a dispute. Once you dispute it , you will not get one message in the app or a phone-call with any updates. They’ll make you wait for multiple months and then email you saying they declined it due to what the merchant says. Although I have all the proof that I was scammed , so I don’t know what the SCAMMER could have said to stop them from disputing it. Now I have to take the merchant to court to get my money back. Which I’m sure I could’ve avoided if I had a real bank account. I’m not the only one Current has done this to, it happened to my friend and many others who complained about it on Twitter. I’m so glad I opened up my Truist bank account , and if I ever need to use online banking I’ll be sure to use Chime.

Best thing ever for kids that love video games and teens!. I have two teenage daughters and a 10 year old with autism . I started with just getting a card for my oldest because she’s 16 and driving and it ma easy way for her to have her own money but then I got my other two kids one because they play all those internet games and I hate giving them my credit card because they save the card and buy all kinds of stuff. So now they have their own card and they have to earn money for it . Rolblox is expensive . 😫. They can use it for stuff at the store and everything and I don’t have to worry about reoccurring charges all the time . Only thing I would change is that it takes like 2-3 days sometimes for it to go through so if they needed money fast than u have to keep money on your account just in case . But it’s not so bad . Other than that I totally love the card and my sister and friend got the same thing for their kids . Great idea wish I would have thought of it :)

Horrible Customer Service. I have been locked out of my account for over a month, they say 24/7 chat availability but what good is that if your locked out of the app, I have sent multiple emails and have received zero helpful assistance, I have had no issues until now but since this has happened it’s cost me a large sum of money so that being said I would highly recommend a bank that you can contact atleast by phone and speak to a real customer service rep. Rather than Current’s automated call center and faulty mobile app as well as extremely slow and embarrassingly poor customer service assistance for a so called “Bank!” I’m not one to complain but I rely on my checks weekly and when you have no access to control your funds for this long and no shown actions to assist your customer with a crucial issue, I felt the need to alert others that it’s obvious you have no concern for your customer’s needs, especially a “Choice Card Holder” You would think paying the extra for the better checking account might help get quicker assistance or any assistance period! I will absolutely be closing my primary account and will make sure to inform anyone interested in Current to look elsewhere for a more reliable banking option!

Love Current. I LOVE current someone hacked my card numbers probably online and it was used in Texas Florida 2 charges like a day apart and then having great customer service and common sense said deny BOTH charges she’s not in 2 places at once and DENIED THEM FOR ME! EXPENSIVE purchases also. THEN preceded to call me the next day explain everything to me told me they KNEW it wasn’t me bc of where I make purchases anyways. I have purchases only verified to go through I’m my state bc I don’t travel and a neighboring state bc all my family is there if a purchase is tried ANYWHERE else it’s declined. AND if I go on vacation I call and let them know so they Can unlock my card for that area for the amount of time I need them too and we set up a password so they know it’s me! Them going out of their way to do all of that for me AMAZED me and I will never go to another bank. Esp with the credit building card they just released, I LOVE current!!

Ted. Would have been a 5 star review. Except for last year a company called Bolt basically an Uber company got into my account and managed to take over $500 from me. I have never left the United States let alone catch an Uber in Europe. So almost min after min took withdraws out of my account. When I noticed it I shut the card off and called them there was another one to talk to. The call center was closed because of Covid. I was told there was nothing I could do until the pending charges were done. After waiting days I then could file a dispute. I did. Waited over a year checking back now and then. Still no one to call. Only chat! Same thing. They are investigating. Mind you I had already gone on the internet and seen multiple postings about this Bolt EU. Finally after almost two years. I had to call them. Never 1!call or text from them. They tell me it was complete. And I wasn’t getting any money back. Been a great bank since. Some things we never forget .

Eric W.. The Customer service and the Dispute department process is very disappointing. There’s no one to actually talk too to help with account on the spot, you have to wait for them to respond on their time. And when they do, they send a whole list of things you have to provide that don’t even pertain to your account. My account was recently Hacked, and provided Current with all the information they required to prove I couldn’t be at 2 places at the same time how my account was compromised. Their response was sorry for your loss and their system does not show any fraudulent activity. So called the businesses where the fraudulent activity occurred and they noticed it was clearly fraudulent activity how the individuals were going to multiple stores of the same business in a whole different city draining out my account. $600 gone within a hour. And here I’m 400 miles on the opposite end eating dinner at a restaurant at the same time. But current stuck to saying they didn’t recognize that part in their system, when I clearly had the transactional receipts. And here I thought the customers are FDIC INSURED. The bank is a joke, it is gateway to be hacked, and they don’t value the customer!!! Smh
