Very Useful. LOVE this app. Plan on purchasing full version. I appreciate that they give us the opportunity to experiment with it before purchasing. I wish more apps were this user friendly. Hard to decide which apps are the best sometimes and you have to be selective on a fixed income . I do really recommend this one. Enjoy!

Great app. Limited, but works perfectly and creates very pleasing results! Love it!

Why does the app pause my audio?. When clicking to go from the image crop screen to the filters, Visionist pauses my audio playback. Why would that happen?

Finally the app I needed with ComicBook!!. This with ComicBook! Is amazing!! It’s the perfect cartoon look for photos and then comicbook! Gives the perfect layout. My only wish would be if it was numbers on the effects tabs to be able to find the one I’m looking for faster when scrolling thru because it’s hard to find the effect I previously used because of no names on thumbnails. That’s the only important thing that’s needed.

Love it. I love it so much. Very addicting. I am playing with it now.

Easy to Use With Results. This app creates some impressive and intriguing results. It’s fast, it’s easy, it’s fun.

Amazing, Amazing!. It was obvious after spending just a few minutes with this app that I was totally in love with it. This app is going to replace more than a handful of other effect apps I am currently using, and in addition it adds a new depth and clarity to the processed images that does not exist with the other apps. I applaud the developer for going with a single purchase model. This is the first thing I look at when downloading apps. If a developer opts for the subscription model I’ll just pass on the app. In this case I tried the app, and within 5 minutes I purchased the BUY button and I feel great about my purchase. Keep the amazing photo apps coming!!!

Better Than I Expected. This app actually has landscape mode for iPad, which seems to be a rare feature for art and photo programs. While there are a few websites which can perform similar effects, the convenience alone made it worth the 4 bucks I dropped for it.

Awesome. So far I have share this app with two others, I have already done quite a bit of photos. It’s fun.

Limited as “free” app. If you are considering downloading this and using just the free features, it’s not worth it so don’t bother. A few limited choices given create way too many strokes/lines in the face, as if it enhances and multiplies facial creases and distorts your nose, as do apparently even some of the paid selections based on the preview. If you put each filter on to your face and try them one at a time, you will see each one of them looks like you have a dried mud mask on to varying degrees. With the free features, even adjusting the intensity, etc., of some of them still doesn’t make for a very attractive picture by sny strerch and doesn’t help in that regard. If you’re looking for some still life or inanimate object pictures, you might fare a little bit better because those weren’t as bad as human faces. Because I can’t get a decent attractive human picture out of it even with the limited choices, with all of them having deep strokes you can’t soften, I would say paying to unlock all the other features may or may not have those same problems if there is such a heavy emphasis on crinkling the face. I don’t think humans look very good with crinkled faces. Since you have to pay before you can unlock them and there is no trial for you to even test it out first, do so at your own risk.

Terrible. I downloaded the app and tried out a few pictures with faces and every image I put was horrifying. The lines were so dark and disgusting and it hurt my eyes it was so ugly. After reading some of the other reviews, I realized people were feeling about the same. Looking closer, I saw the developer responses to be hostile and defensive. One of the responses went something like, “You liked the app and only gave it three stars even though it’s free and has tons of features?” Come on, just because someone didn’t like your app doesn’t mean they have to be proved wrong and it’s “good enough because it’s a free app.” Just by seeing these responses, I was encouraged to write this review to spread to others that this app is overall terrible; from horrible photo-to-art filters, ugly designs, and rude staff, I would strongly advise people to stay away from this app.

Does not find any photos. Like many other iOS users, I’ve switched over to Google Photos for the increased free storage, better search, etc. This app seems to be married to the default iOS gallery because it cannot ‘find’ the thousands of photos on my phone. Visionist has been deservedly deleted.

Good but it could be more user friendly. This app is easy to use but it’s really a struggle to learn everything. But it’s still a amazing app and has a reasonably priced extension.

It doesn’t work.. I selected a picture, but then the app did not give me any place to tap or click or make changes on it. And I could find no instructions anywhere. All I saw on my Iphone is the picture.

Nice Art app. Just need to take the time to learn how to make adjustments and you can make some interesting pictures. Thanks

Nice.. Could use more features such as color correction, be, etc.

Need more editing options. I have just started using the paid version. Right off the top I found two options that any artist would expect. They are undo and revert. Also the current style should be highlighted. Without any visual indication or a name for the style it is hard to know which style did what

Amazing app, but I can’t access the $1.99 version. I liked this app so much I decided to go for the paid version. But after successfully buying it through the Apple store I couldn’t access the locked manipulation screens. Buyer beware!

Easy Brilliance.. Become Van Gogh’s protégé in just a few clicks. Finally, an app that converts my favorite photos into art and lets me be the artist I’ve always wanted to be. Fun. Fast. Fabulous.

Solid Version 1.0 - Keep Developing. Visionist has utility not found elsewhere on the App Store. The ability to create painterly effects to your photos, especially after unlocking the in app purchase, is second to none. The depth feature, which uses an iPhone’s portrait mode depth data as an additional map, opens up new creative avenues. But the app stops there. There’s so much potential to explore, like being able to apply different degrees of painterly effects (or color or focus or brush direction) using the depth channel, but the app leaves this unexplored. A glaring limitation is that when zoomed in, you can’t scroll whatsoever. This is an amazing version 1.0. Here’s hoping the development team will continue to explore its potential.

I wish there were more options. So I really like the app but there aren’t many options so it gets kind of boring after a while but I guess if ur willing to pay 2$ for more then go for it but other wise I love the app and I keep experimenting so idk but so far it’s pretty good

Great App but need some improvements.. Great App. Love it, but it will really benefit from some additions. 1 - Name each style. Even a number will do the job. It’s difficult to find a favorite style, especially if you are editing more than one image and want to apply the same effect. 2 - An option to save styles and effects as favorites. 3 - Control over the image basic adjustments: brightness, saturation, white balance. 4 - An ability to zoom in more, not just one step, and move the image around to see the details when the image is enlarged.

I think this is a great App!. Found info for this app in my recent Readers Digest. I downloaded it and tried it and it performs better than any app I have downloaded. (I have tried many, many apps) I purchased the extras and glad I did.

needs UNDO!. Really great, but please bring UNDO (needed with “mix styles”.

Pretty Cool!!. It’d be even cooler if things weren’t locked behind a paywall but anyway, I’m loving what can be done to pictures. The artistic touch is amazing especially if your going for a different look for your photos. Would recommend it to anyone that’s wanting to create custom works of art from photos easily.

Absolutely excellent tool!. As someone who has used hundreds of photo editing apps and programs extensively, this app is incredible. The free effects are beautiful and the tools are easy to use, but for $1.99 you get many more amazing filters that make the app truly more than $2 more wonderful. It is rare that I am so satisfied with an app. I’ll be downloading this on my other devices.

Great features but so tedious to switch images.. Fun and clever filters, but going back and forth constantly to load different images is clunky and keeps it from being a go-to tool.

Close but. This is an easy app to use, and it has some wild looks to it. In the paid version, I wish there was a way to collect my favorite effects, or they were named and searchable, so I wouldn’t have to scroll through the whole collection each time looking for one that suits my fancy.

So many filters. I love the app and the filters but there are so many I can’t remember which one I like for a particular photo after trying several. It would be great if the filters had a number or name assigned.

Good. Pretty good

Easy to use. Great app but it would useful if the styles were numbered or had names, easier to find when trying to recreate similar looks for different photos. Also when I changed the effects on one sample, they didn’t go back normal for the next one, stayed the same so have to tweak. Otherwise good.

Fantastic... I have been taking and collecting pictures for years of Victorian and Arts & Craft houses that are still standing... With this app I just converted them to a wood block print like image... over 600 of them. They look amazing! Thx guys!

Why I Like Visionist Best. There are several of these apps that use neural network processing to add a completely new style to photos or art as in my case. Some require subscriptions. Some have an overwhelming number of filters that soon turn into a distraction of “let me try 1 more, 1 more, ...” Some take a long time to process, the kind of time that sends one to the frig for something to drink — for EVERY filter update. VISIONIST has none of these issues. It has 70 different filters, each of which can be modified in different ways. Free to use with 10 filters. A small, 1-time-only purchase unlocks 60 more filters. 70 is a whole lot easier to play with than 100s. Processing is almost instantaneous. All of these features make this a BEST BUY for me! These neural net-based filters are outstanding. Such unique results. They are impacting my own artwork in ways I never expected. Creatives definitely need to check them out. And, no, I am not affiliated with these developers in any way. But I am a compulsive app experimenter (retired, disabled, lots of time on my hands). I calls them as I see them and VISIONIST is a must have!
