Get it!. I LOVE this app! I'm in charge of the schedule for reminders when to read the verses that I select. It helps me stay on track to ponder on the scriptures multiple times daily. I also like being reminded when it's time to switch to a new verse(s). The background pictures are pretty. I also like being able to use pictures of my own. I have recommended this app to several friends. I recommend it to you! Well worth the money. And come on, it's 3 bucks. They're not asking for an arm and a leg.

Convenient, practical and effective. There is nothing I look at more every day then my phone. This app has proved perfect to integrate "ponderizing" (and the subsequent revelation and faith it produces) into my daily routine. I downloaded the app, picked a scripture by topic, and set the scripture as the background on my phone's lock screen.

Wait for updates.. Do not get excited. This app has an unacceptable frustration to benefit ratio. You'll not find any, or at the very least, peace to Ponder-ize. It's confusing. "Settings" are nonexistent. Poor executive decision to introduce an app in "alpha stage" just to "get in [customer's] hands". Obviously, developer doesn't have a clue how to market apps. Introduce it too early, users find it overly clunky. Typical fail rate (lose interest and delete = 90%. Because I paid the $2.99, won't delete. This appears a cheap way to finance app development - on the user's back. TMEO. Typical Mormon "Entrepreneur" Operation. Too many Critical Bugs bugs to list. Chiefly, no difference in Search by Book, or by Title yields same result. No rhyme or reason to scripture selections. Imagine an app of this nature that does not feature one scripture from Alma Chapter 5. Unacceptable. If it's there try to locate in within 2-seconds. Presently, a waste of time.

Thank You. Thank you for a great app. This has been a wonderful addition to my collection. Something to consider in future updates would be to mark the verse that has been used previously so when we are selecting a new verse we can know which ones we have used before.

What you see is not what you get. The text has never displayed properly in the exported image. Choosing extra small text size on an iPhone Plus yields large size text in the exported image. This app has not been updated in a year. Must be an abandoned app. Too bad because I really liked the idea.

Every Day. Wonderful way to start the day.

Love it BUT... I love this app, but the screen I edit verses is not what I get in the finished product. The verses won’t fit on my iOS iPhone 10 without some creative editing, and since latest update they won’t fit even with it. It is an amazing tool for keeping the scriptures in the forefront of my mind and great for sharing scriptures with others. Wish I could send feedback to them without having to have a email set up. I would have put my gripe there instead of for the world to see because I really do love the app!

Can’t adjust font size. The font size adjustment doesn’t work.

I'd like to see more. This app does some things well. If you're just looking to put a scripture on your home screen and get reminders, it's better than the other Ponderize app out there. But, I'd like to Ponderize the same scripture on both my IPad and IPhone. I'd like to see it be able to sync.

Can't get it to scale right. I'm about to remove this app from my phone. I think it's a wonderful thing but I can't seem to get it to scale right for my iPhone 6. I followed the directions to pick a scripture or use their backgrounds even though I upgraded it so that I could use my own backgrounds. But once I save it to my photos and try and put it as my lock screen the words don't fit on the screen and scroll off the sides. This is the only problem and the reason I gave it to stars, but I would love to upgrade us to five stars if someone could figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Just what I need. I love that I can have a scripture with a peaceful picture as my lock screen. I'm not that tech savvy, but I was able to make it fit my screen once I followed the directions.

I love this app!!!. I have mine set for 8:00am. It helps me get my day off to a good start. I like being able to select verses that have special meaning for me when I need comfort or encouragement. I’m so happy to have this on my phone. 💞😊💞

Concerned. I do love it, however… I keep getting kicked out when I’m in the book of Exodus chapter 33. What’s going on there?

Why?!. I am a confused and a little frustrated that you have updated this app so that the wallpapers that I create are automatically cropped into a square. I like this feature, so that others can share the gospel through social media, BUT, the thing I liked most about this app was that I could use my scripture for the week as my wallpaper. I wish and hope that you will re-add this feature to your app. Thanks.

Right direction. Love the app and that it helps me Ponderize. I would love it if the app were updated for newer displays.

Well Worth the three bucks!. I just updated to the new version, and decided to buy the full version at the same time. It really is worth the little amount to get access to everything. I'd spend way more if it was a book or a calendar (paper) version! At first I was only getting the cropped square version too. But I found if I access it in camera roll (instead of just the camera like I usually do) it's full screen for my wallpaper. Love it!

Nice, but..... This is a lovely app and does things well, but it bothers me that you have to pay $2.99 to be able to choose whatever scripture you want. I can understand charging for pictures or fonts, but not scriptures. I downloaded a free ponderize app instead that isn't quite as pretty, but has full functionality. Or you could use some other text-over-photo app.

Great. We use this app every week. We mirror our verse on our Apple TV and discuss them as a family so we can learn together. It brings us together and I love hearing all of their personal insights that they gain through studying the scriptures every day!

Simple and effective. I have used this for about a week. In that time I have found it very helpful to have the reminders 5 times a day that bring me back to focus on the scriptures. I have memorized a long, complex and doctrinally rich verse and am very grateful for this program. And I have set a beautiful picture as the background. No problems or issues at all.

Amazing!. I love being able to have a reminder and being able to set it as my lock and home-screnes. I can't wait to see what additions are made. I would love to be able to change font, color, and size!

Grateful. I'm so grateful for members of the church that use their time and their talents to create tools and games that uplift and help me keep my family centered on the Gospel. This is just one example of such an app. Other reviews that question the motives of this developer are way out of line. Take the beam from your eye first buddy. LDS Mobile Apps is doing amazing work, and is giving members tools they want. Hilton and Jocelyn spend time and efforts working on these apps and you should be grateful. If you're not willing to pay for the tool that's fine. But don't question their motives. This is how they support their family. They choose to work in a smaller, less profitable, more whiny market of LDS users because they love the Gospel and want to strengthen families and testimonies. We are lucky to have them. Worth the price. The works been done for you; my wife had been taking screen shots of her scriptures, which was not esthetically pleasing. Now her and my scriptures are well set on our screens to pictures that invite contemplation; much more in line with what I had in mind when I heard the ponderize invitation. Takes some figuring out with font size and converting the images to wallpaper, but well worth the effort.

Great, but wait for the update. I love the idea of this app, but it doesn't allow you to change the size of the font, so if you have problems with your vision be aware of this limit. It also cannot handle verse that go from complete thoughts (parenthetics) and cuts off the passage. I like to read passages in context, so this is a downfall to me. I was informed that these issues will be fixed in the update. Woo hoo! That being said, I love that I can choose and change the verses easily.

$3, premium price w/out premium features. I gave this app 1 star because they are gauging buyers because of no competition. Lower price or add features. For a $3 app I expect to be able to place verse on screen where I like, font and text color. Add the features or reduce price. For a bit more time each week I can use a photo edit app to do the same. And that app was 3 also bit loaded with features. Your other apps are quality and I enjoy them.

Absolutely love this app. This app has helped me continually remember that without Christ I can do nothing. It keeps me in perspective of why I am here throughout my day. I love this app and have referred it to many people who also now love it.

Plz make a Widget !. It would be so much better if I could have my weekly verse on a widget instead of my Lock Screen. Right now I am saving my verse to the photos app and using a photo widget app to display it on a widget on my Home Screen.

Outstanding App!. The backgrounds, text size and styles, and the text content are all variables you can choose, making custom compositions. These make beautiful displays for your phone screens and other screens. I love creating new compositions with different scriptures as a way to memorize more scriptures. Excellent app!

Perfect Concept. Based on a talk given to ponder and memorize the scriptures I think this app will be perfect for. The idea is to have scriptures in front of you and to make it a habit to turn to them every time you turn your phone on. The previous reviews are probably those who disagree with everything the church teaches.

Nice App. App worked well when I did it right. Picture was too big on my iPhone. Sent note and received an answer 15 minutes later. After selecting picture I wasn't pushing the phone icon. Works great now. Worth $2.99 to me. Would buy again.

Thank You!. This is such a great app! Technology can be such a distraction at times but Ponderize displays my verse on start up to remind me to take time for what is important first, before I sort my emails or view the latest ‘must see’ crazy cat video.

I'm glad there are apps like this that help me. I'm glad this company seizes the momentum and provides a product that can help us. You don't walk into Deseret Book, Seagull Book, or even the Church distribution center and expect to take home somebody's product for free. Please consider the time it must have take this developer to learn his craft and apply it before judging. You might be shocked to find many General Authorities write books (that cost money). There are so many evil influences on the Internet, if 2.99 encourages more developers to provide wholesome products then I say that is a small price to pay. And let's face it... You don't need the app to ponderize, it's just a fun little app and for many people 2.99 is nothing so why not? If you don't like it , I'm sure you can still ponderize for free, unless that scathing judgemental attitude you cart around prevents you from being happy.

Simple but with impressive features. Great job! I like the reminders, and the option to save the scripture to the lock screen. There’s a great selection of background images that help carry the scripture message. I wish that setting the lock screen were a little more seamless (i.e. that it could be done straight from the app) but I’m not sure if iOS lets you do that. Very impressive, especially for a version 1.0!

Want to love it more. When I had the free version I didn't really have problems fitting the pictures to my iPhone screen. Now that I bought it, none of the pictures seem to fit. I save the image to my phone, like the app says to do,but it's way too huge to fit it on my screen, even after scaling it down as much as I can. I love the background photos and I am looking forward to this issue being solved!

Usefull App, but $2.99, Really?. This seems to be a great app. It is simple to use. It accomplishes its purpose to allow the user to ponderize scriptures. I only gave the app three stars due to the in-app purchase price of $2.99 to be able to select any scripture. I know mormons have a reputation for being cheap, but $2.99 seems expensive. Apple lets families share the cost of apps, but not in-app purchases. So for me to buy the in-app purchase for all my family members at home with smartphones, it will cost me $15.

Just what I was looking for!. I couldn't even believe this was actually an app - it is exactly what I wanted and more! I always wanted to have a verse as my lockscreen but didn't like just having a screenshot of the verse from Gospel Library. This app gives you the ability to have just the scripture(s) you want to ponderize and still in an aesthetically pleasing way! Thank you for creating such a great app for a great purpose!

Would Love Update. This app is like perfect. Not only can I pick an awesome scripture that I find while I study my scriptures but the backgrounds are just perfect. I love cool space or natural backgrounds, everyone has their own favorite, and this app has both of those and many other awesome picture backgrounds. Perfect for spiritual knowledge if you want to ponder a verse, but will also fit in great as a regular background screen. I wouldn't want it any other way. Edit: Has not been updated to support the newest phone screen shape/sizes. A pretty core necessity for the app to perform its intended function.

Useful!!. I love turning on my phone & seeing scripture. It's hard for me to read scriptures daily but having a scripture (that I chose so it actually applies to my life) for my lock screen makes me feel not so guilty 😄 Plus it's super nice that I can splice up different verses & quotes & completely customize my screen to whatever I want. This app was also easy for me to use which is a plus because I don't have the patience for complicated apps. Basically, I love this app & highly recommend it! 😊

Was Great. Crashes and freezes up when opened now. Last worked as it was supposed to in December 2022.

Don't listen to the naysayers!. It's unfortunate that some people reviewing this app are so derogatory. The app is beautiful and simple to use! For only $3 you can put any scripture in all four standard works onto a peaceful, beautiful background and within seconds have a wallpaper for your phone's screen to help you "ponderize"! I just tested it and I was able to put any verse from Alma 5 in about 5 seconds. And the reminder function is very handy and unobtrusive. As to the price, the developers have to make a living! $3 is not much for the convenience and functionality of this app. As soon as you can make this app yourself, then you can complain about a small fee. I'm grateful to the developers for providing a simple, beautiful and easy-to-use method to follow a church leader's inspired words and gladly paid them $3 for their efforts. This app is fantastic!

Perfect!. Visually, Mentally, and Spiritually Uplifting! I am a visual learner and the ability to have a picture with my chosen verse has helped instill and embed the verse of scripture in my mind. I LOVE the reminders and the chance I have to "ponderize" several times a day. I am soooo glad this app is available and well worth the $ for the upgraded background and verse selection. Love it!!!

Brilliant. So cool that this was released in October 2016, the same month as this word was revealed at general conference. I think a lot of people probably had this idea for an app and this either includes them or will. I gave feedback on other ideas but this adding backgrounds and being on the lock screen is brilliant! And they responded right away. What's your verse?

Downloaded the app to write a review only. For a moment I thought the app was going make me purchase it before the option to write this review. When I listened to the GC talk and within the first few minutes I shared out loud to my wife and son, "Dang, is he trying to get a new word into the dictionary." Now we know it was way more than that. I really don't understand how the family decided to continue marketing this to the general membership of the church after the request from church leadership to take the website down. Is this really a result from the windows of heaven opening and pouring out blessings too many to receive? $2.99 too many and that's just the price for the app.

Favorite app, until 2 days ago. I have loved this app for 7 years! But now since the last IPhone update it doesn’t work any more, and I have lost the library that I created. Please help!

Great Concept - Buggy App. When saving a scripture or quote to photos it either freezes the Ponderize app so I have to quit the app and reopen, or it will save it to photos, but when I choose it as a wallpaper the scripture can’t be sized to my iPhone screen, it’s way too big, and as such can’t be read. I’m using and iPhone 11 Pro Max running the most current IOS and have the upgraded Ponderize app. Other then that the app works as promised.

Ponderize App Suggestion. I absolutely love this App. If I could make 3 suggestions they would be: 1) allow the user to be able to edit saved scriptures (add to or delete other scriptures instead of deleting the whole scripture that was saved and resaving it) 2) allow user to have more than one scripture (different books) on the same save (cross referencing and saving 3) have the App randomly notify you if the scriptures you are learning (similar to a scripture a day. I use this App all the time. Thank you!

Well designed.. All the small details that make a big difference have been thought of and incorporated to make this app GREAT. It is so simple that even I could figure it out, and I cannot think of any better way to have my verse incorporated into my day than seeing it beautifully displayed every time I turn on my phone.

Are you seriously charging to access all scriptures?. Ponderize this: 2 Nephi 26:29 He commandeth that there shall be no priestcrafts; for, behold, priestcrafts are that men preach and set themselves up for a light unto the world, that they may get gain and praise of the world; but they seek not the welfare of Zion.

Why I'm disappointed. 1. I paid for the full app. There's nothing I couldn't access without paying three bucks. 2. When I ponderize a verse sometimes it's just one or two lines that stick out to me, but with this app I had to select the whole verse every time. (and some of those verses are super long) 3. It's only the standard works. I wish this app had modern publications and quotes from the living day prophets that we could ponderize as well. Especially General Conference talks!!! If these things were fixed I would definitely love to have this app again, but until then I will stick to my Wreck-It-Ralph background.

$$$ Seeking Riches before the Kingdom of Heaven. Making money off of general conference and the words of our Prophets, Seers and Revelators. Where is your sense of dignity? If the money went to the general missionary fund or fast offerings I'd pay for it. But it's going into someone's pocket. I'll increase my fast offerings and tithes $2.99 and wait for the church to come forward with something on the Gospel Library app.

Wonderfully simple, spiritually powerful. I’ll admit, I was hesitant about this app. I downloaded it because there was a specific scripture I wanted to ponder, and I was dismayed to discover that—out of the box—I could only choose from a preset list of scriptures, and if I wanted to choose my own I had to unlock the app for $2.99. Now, I don’t begrudge the developers that $2.99 at all. Those crying “priestcraft” have got it all wrong. Having written apps for the App Store before, I know how expensive it is to host the apps on the store, as well as how much it costs for the expertise to develop and market the apps. In fact, I applaud the fact that they are charging money, and (hopefully) supporting themselves! More apps need to do this. At three bucks, honestly, it’s a steal. (Three bucks! You’ll spend more than that at McDonalds, or renting a movie. Netflix costs at least double that, every month!) What dismayed me was the fact that I wasn’t able to test the app in a scenario that was meaningful to me. I almost quit the app and deleted it right there, but I decided to give it a go with one of the scripture mastery verses. I picked one, set it up on my lock screen, set up a reminder, and figured I’d give it a few days. It took me only an hour to decide that I wanted to give them my money. What sold me was seeing that scripture on my lock screen every time I turned on my phone. What a powerful reminder! I haven’t even switched to the scripture I originally wanted to ponder yet—I’m still so struck by the simple scripture mastery verse I picked out to demo the app. My only nitpick was that their choice of limitation almost scared me away, Thus, four stars instead of five. I’m not sure what I’d recommend instead (they obviously need some incentive for people to pay for the app), but I hope they take this feedback into consideration. Maybe there’s a way for people to test the app on their own terms for a limited time, or something? That would have done it for me. So, highly recommended. If your’e on the fence about whether to try the app or not, I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a try for a day or two with the preset scriptures, and see how you feel about it after that.

Any LDS MEMBER OR SCRIPTURE LOVER. Any LDS MEMBER OR SCRIPTURE LOVER will LOVE THIS APP! It's great! You can click on "choose by topic" which are some scriptures that have been set already for you to ponder! I RECOMMEND PONDERIZE App!

A great way to uplift. Really nice way to just remind yourself to keep life in proper perspective. The scriptures are the best place for our mind to wander whenever we have a spare minute.

Great. Great need to be able to review scriptures all ready ponderized.

Good & Bad. Pros: + It takes the process of creating a lock screen & wallpaper image a lot easier and better looking. + I don't have to walk my wife through the process every time Cons: - It says family sharing is supported, but it doesn't work. I've purchased the in-app purchase on my wife's phone, but it won't restore on my phone.

Love it!. I love this. But I think more can be and should be added. Like, quotes from current and past prophets and apostles. Just happy and healthy quotes, quotes from good books and so on.. Not Happy. I was really excited to have this app. I installed it and it frozen on me. I deleted it and tried again and it's still stalled, I would love to use it but I can't! I'm a unhappy person with this app!

I have a t-shirt to sell you too.. I'm all for making money. But, exploiting General Conference is just wrong. This app and prior t-shirt enterprises have just ruined the applicability of the word ponderize for me.

Detractor. There's really no benefit to this app. Writing down the scripture you'd like to ponder[ize] is more effective than this app. It doesn't add anything to help you research a topic or learn more about the verse. The backgrounds and novelty of it detract from its purpose. Id give it zero stars but I made me pick at least one.

Should be free. I'm sorry, but there are plenty of free apps that let you type in any scripture over a picture. I was disappointed to see that it costs $2.99 to be able to chose any scripture and background.

I NEEDED THIS!. So far, I have memorized 8 of the 13 Articles of Faith, since I put them on the "wallpaper" of my cell phone. I feel an increased nearness to the Savior.

Excellent Service. This app conveniently allows me to view a favorite scripture on the lock screen. For that service, I am willing to pay $2.99, accusations by others of priestcraft notwithstanding.

Great tool for internalizing scriptures. This is a great idea to keep selected scriptures always before our eyes, inspired by Elder Devin G. Durrant's talk in the October 2015 general conference. Note that this app is not associated with the Durrant family in any way, despite the odd rants in other reviews.

Lovely App. This app helps us to take the time to read scriptures verse by verse.

Rectangle. I love the idea of this app and the backgrounds! However, I want to be able to use it as a lock screen on my iPhone. But it can only be made square. I need it to be rectangle to fit my screen and be able to read all the words. Thanks!

What a money grubbing joke. Pet peeve: people who try to use gospel doctrine or words of our prophets for personal financial gain. If you care enough about this topic to lend your talents to app development and you make it free for all to enjoy and enrich themselves spiritually then you are blessing others by that consecration. If you are charging $2.99 so that someone can look up any scripture and ponderize it, you are just like the money changers in the temple. Cast them out. I will use this when it is available to all on LDS tools. In the meantime I'd rather increase my fast offering by $2.99 than support this coat tailing effort.

Wonderful app. Wonderful way to help make the Gospel of Jesus Christ the anchor in my busy day. It has been so helpful! Would love to know if I can change font color.

Feel baited. There are some apps that certainly require creativity, insight and work and deserve remuneration for the sweat equity put into its development. Unfortunately, this app was a direct result of someone else's inspiration. I like the concept, but I do not like the cost associated with this app.

What a great idea!!. I so happy that Elder Durrant's suggestion was acted upon so quickly!! This is one of the things that during my work day (which often times can be stressful) helps keep me centered with a great perspective.....daily!!!!!!!!!

Good. This is a good app, but could be better. It does not allow you to change/edit the verse your working on. So my suggestion is to pick a verse you want to work on the rest of your life.

Ok. Works ok except when you pick multiple verses in a chapter. It places them out of order. Would also like ability to choose fonts and size. And more in app helps to help with memorization. Like what the Scripture Mastery app has! Anyway a good app that's need improvement and ponderization!

Buggy and Limited without $$$. I loved the idea of this app but you can't really do anything without paying to upgrade. I can't support someone trying to turn a profit from a general conference address. Without upgrading you can choose from scripture mastery and articles of faith and use 5 background images. Surely you should be able to select any scripture and at least upload your own image. I can't morally support this application unless they donate the profits to the church.

Great!. I love this app! What a wonderful way to remember scriptures and really apply what we have been taught. It's amazing to have the option to choose scriptures based on topics!
