- Still got a ticket

The app charged my card, sent me notifications so I wouldn’t be late leaving before time expired, and I received a receipt via email. However, I still got a ticket. And when I contested the ticket with the emailed receipt showing I’d paid for parking the ticket was upheld because the lid ended plate number wasn’t entered into the machine on the street. That stinks. I won’t be using the app anymore.

- Was reliable, is now annoying.

This app used to be convenient and easy to use. Once you were set up it was then just a few quick taps to verify you had the right vehicle and amount of time selected and then, bingo, you were ready to go. But the current app is annoying and hard to use and has abandoned the smooth and easy to use design for some reason. I’d guess they tossed the native iOS app for a “common codebase” kind of thing that saves them from developing multiple version of the app, one native app for iOS and another for that other OS? A really poor decision, this is so slow, klunky, and annoying to use that it is only slightly better than using the parking machine on the street. I am constantly confused by what is selected or what will happen if I hit a button. Will it park me for 15 minutes or choose the wrong vehicle? I no longer think of the app as reliable, but as some kind of puzzle trap that might blow up on me. Brink back the old design/native iOS app! The one good addition has been the map with the machine numbers. For some reason the numbers are not very large and you often have to get out of your car to see them clearly. But the map allows me to check the number from inside the car. That helps a lot since I don’t always have to go looking for the machine in the weather and search for the relatively tiny numbers. Really, you’d think the city would print them as large as possible on all four sides!

- Overcharged. Customer Service Is Horrible

Twice I have been overcharged due to bugs in the app. The first time, every payment method I had on the app was charged for the same parking session. The second time, I went to extend my session and was charged for the full length of the session instead of just the extension. I had to extend again and the same thing happened. Both times, I submitted a ticket on their website. For the first incident, they closed the ticket without contacting me. I reopened the ticket and continued to wait. I filed disputes with my bank and credit card to get refunds after about a week without a response. Finally, SIX WEEKS after I submitted the ticket, they replied and thought that I wanted to cancel my entire parking account. Ridiculous. I’m in the middle of the second instance and they already closed my ticket with no refund and no response.

- Won’t accept payment methods anymore

Updating my review to 4 stars after figuring out a workaround.... the app doesn’t seem to allow you to add more than one credit card. Removed all of my cards and added just a single payment method and now the payments are working. This is annoying but at least I can use the app again This app was 5 stars before it stopped allowing me to use the credit cards I had saved in the app. I have two Visa cards in the payment methods but the app won’t recognize either of them, just tries to force me to sign up for Visa Checkout instead. 1 star until I’m not forced to sign up for an additional service to use this app

- Predatory App

While this app is convenient, there are several flaws. Here are a few: 1) There is no stop button in case of errors. If you hit the park button and immediately realize you hit the button too soon, you are screwed and your money is gone. No refunds. 2) There is no way to switch cars if you have multiple cars listed and forget to change the car. This is doubly bad because the app automatically makes any new car added the default car. So if you forget to change the car, now you have to pay again for the correct vehicle. 3) You cannot make any changes while a parking session in open. This is a problem because when you park under the wrong vehicle, that the app made the default vehicle on its own, you should be able to go in immediately and change the default vehicle to avoid the same problem again later... but you can’t. You are stuck until the parking session is over. Even then, sometimes it doesn’t let you make corrections because it still has your car in an open session, despite the session being over. Be very careful with this app... it’s all about taking your money.

- Keep getting pkg tickets

I have gotten several parking tickets EVEN THOUGH I pay through this app. Please figure out why the parking authority isn’t receiving info from you that I paid. Last week I was walking toward my car and a parking authority employee was taking a picture of my license plate. I asked him what was wrong and he said I had not paid for parking. I HAD PAID FOR PARKING. Not only did I pay for parking but I still HAD 37 MINUTES LEFT BEFORE MY PARKING EXPIRED. I showed the parking employee my app with 37 minutes left and he showed me on his machine that I had not paid. This is getting old. Please fix this. I’m going to have to delete the app if this cannot be remedied.

- Fits right into life

Paying for parking stinks. This app makes it a minimal chore. In a rush to make it do a practice, I paid for parking while running inside. I didn’t think twice, it just worked without a hitch. Looking back, it’s exactly what the app should be. Pay for parking, get on with what you’re doing. Done.

- The last update

If I would review it couple months ago I would give it 5 stars. I’ve been using the app for 3 years and the last updated version is definitely is the worst. Two major problems with the new update, first, although my critics card is saved as a default payment card, every time I have to sign in to masterpass which takes at least 2 min. Second, the interface becomes more complicated. Thanks!

- App was great for a year but now it’s unusable for me

2 stars because even a broken app is a better interface than the parking machines around PGH. Locked out of my account, can’t reset password, nonsensical loops of screens and prompts when trying to get out of account lockout jail... Makes me think their backend databases and systems were never so sturdy to begin with if others are having these problems too. Unfortunate because it was my go-to process for paying the meter all around PGH. Update: This is by far the buggiest and worst app on my phone. Well, until now when I delete it.

- Better error handling needed

When services are down, I should NOT have "wrong password" responses, as the issue is never my password. Give me an error that says services are not available rather than me going on a wild goose chase trying to reset a password only to be thrown win32 exceptions and then having to make the 15 minute walk back to my car to pay the meter manually. When the service comes back, my password was just fine all along. Better programming, people.

- Don’t waste your time

Tried to use the app to pay for parking for over 20 minutes before leaving the restaurant I was at to go back outside to ultimately use the kiosk. Multiple errors. Would not allow me to choose a state for my license (and I couldn’t advance in the process without adding that), would not accept my payment (app stated it was an ApplePay payment when it wasn’t), would not allow me to choose a duration of time for parking. App crashed in the middle of use. Save yourself some time and just use the kiosk.

- Very Convenient!

Gone are the days when you have to run back and forth to the meter. Use your app and refill time without moving. You can avoid those embarrassing parking tickets you get 1 minute after your time expires. Love this app!

- Used to be great

This app used to be awesome, but it just keeps getting harder to use. At first there was an update where it lost all my info so I dutifully re-entered it. Now it seems I have to enter a new payment option every time. I have 4 in - mastercard, visa, PayPal, and Apple Pay. Today I tried to park and it wanted me to create a master pass or visa checkout account and wouldn’t take any of the 4 payment types already in my account, which I don’t want to do. I ended up just paying at the meter the old fashioned way.

- These people won’t upgrade the app!

This app has needed some work but they don’t seem to want to make this work well. In my case, I am always in Pittsburgh, but rather than have my city come up as a default, each time I have to select the city, and the list of cities is getting longer. Simple programming but they are too lazy to make this easier to use!!!

- Doesn't allow Apple Pay

I don't trust this app to store my credit card information securely, especially given the other reviews that mention poor software quality. I was hoping I could use Apple Pay, to avoid directly entering my credit card information, and this seems to be supported in the app, but I'm prompted to use a credit card when I actually try to park. I'll be happy to try this app again if/when this changes, but for now I'm deleting this.

- This app is great

This app just made the parking game SO much easier. I haven’t used an easier app yet. I recommend using this to anyone that travels a lot. To be able to park and pay for it sitting in the car is AwEsOmE!! Doesn’t get much easier than this!!

- Parking STAR

This app is one of my favorites on my phone! No waiting in line to pay. No glare on the screen so I cant see what Im supposed to touch on the parking kiosk. Pay right from my car and then add time to it wherever I am if Im late getting back. Brilliant!!

- New improvements better than ever

I love this app. It makes parking in Pittsburgh extremely easy. New improvements let you see nearby zones so you don’t have to find the zone number somewhere on the street.

- Convenient but glitchy

Love this app—convenient, lets you extend the time on the “meter”, warns you when time is almost up. However it is glitchy-sometimes doesn’t recognize you or just doesn’t work Still it’s wonderful when it works

- Unethical scammers

I went with a friend in her car and parked using this app. I put in her plate but the app processed it under my plate which we didn’t find out until she got a ticket. I called to explain and ask if I could dispute the ticket and the lady said “yeah the app does that and switches it back to the app owners plate but they won’t dismiss it”. This is a known issue yet they are still taking people’s money both for the parking then again for a ticket! Pretty unethical if u ask me!

- Diffficult not user friendly

I have had this parking app for a few years. For whatever the reason recently the app has been difficult to use. Did it change?... Well I had to re-enter the information required. The app indicated I was successful. Later when I returned to my vehicle I had a $75 parking ticket! Looking at the time of issuance it actually matched the time when I was having difficulty entering my parking request through the app. Beware!

- Ripoff

The app and system it’s self is a joke nice got multiple tickets that I’ve had to dispute due to the system crashing or the app saying I was paid and didn’t register me. Also it has no way to stop your parking session and save any remainder of the charge which is by the very definition theft of service. When presented PGH Parking and the app both deny any wrong doing in this. And refuse to acknowledge the issue.

- No Pre payment

Basically app works good, but if you use it over night? Like I do when I pay for permit parking in south side and still cannot park anywhere in my zone but the paid parts? Then I’ll use this but the timer will start as soon as you pay not at 8 am when paid parking starts. So I end up over paying. PLEASE FIX THIS

- Pittsburgh Parking Mobile App

Outstanding. Safer than getting out of your vehicle and using your credit card in open public. This was convenient snd simple to use. Great stuff Pittsburgh! Well done.

- New version of app is terrible!

I loved the old version because it was so easy! This version makes me pick a payment method every time, and only allows me to use one of the three choices, despite having entered info for all of them when I set it up. It only allows me to use Masterpass, which makes me set up a new password every time, which is beyond frustrating. Nothing about this update makes this app better.

- Very handy, needs work

The Pgh posting app has some great features. Not having to stand in the rain, adding time from anywhere, and always knowing your remaining time is fantastic. The only key change I find is the ability to switch between cars, as many of us live in multi car households.

- Need total

You should calculate the estimated cost for staying the full duration. Otherwise, the app is relatively convenient. Gone are the days of running out to the meter to swipe the credit card again or to feed cash and coins.

- Great, not perfect

This is an outstanding time saver about 90%-98% of the time. However, for the other 2%-10% of the time it says no such parking zone exists or that I must input car info, when it exists. Could be interfering signals (former) or iPhone operating system (later).

- Has a habit

The app is great other than when it doesn’t complete the purchase. I usually catch it, but today received a ticket after thinking I paid already. Open the app back up and there’s the dreaded “could not complete purchase” message. Lame but my technically my fault.

- Great App, occasional glitch

Love this app. It has never failed me. However, occasionally, I have had to re-enter my cc info. Has happened 3 times in the past year. Slight annoyance, but overall great app.

- Broken app

This was great while it worked but it stopped working and now demands input of payment method each time I try to park. I’ve written the company and had no response. I’ve deleted and redown-loaded the app and come to the same dead end. I’ve delete and re-input my credit cards. Still the demand to add payment method each time I park. Wish they would fix the app and respond to requests. What a shame!

- Identifying zone numbers

Are the specific zone numbers written on each meter ? I never know which number I should use bc I am not standing next to the outdoor meter when I try to use the mobile app. Thanks a lot !

- Love pgh Parking app

No more struggling to get money or credit cards into meter! App shows time lapse and time left on meter and able to renew time. Shows history of parking and fav. Spots. Cant live without it!

- App now has major bugs

This app and service was great, albeit for a short time, but now seems to have constant bugs and issues. The app no longer gives you the ability to consistently use the payment method that you previously loaded. When prompted to add another payment method you are unable to do so. If you have an option choose non-metered or garage parking.

- Love it

So easy to use and always updating to make it even easier. If you park even occasionally in the city this is a must.

- Works very well- convenient

This app makes paying for parking a little less painful. A lot less painful if you have to unexpectedly extend for parking. Wish I could manage my residential parking permit and visitor pass using this app!

- Horrible Update

This app worked wonderfully before they upgraded the front-end. It takes an incredibly long time to load so much so that it’s just faster going to the meter now. Also, it won’t recognize nearby meters anymore. Please go back to the version that actually worked!

- Great convenience to engage parking transaction from phone app!

It was raining the day I decided to use Gomobile Pgh. So easy to use in the car before heading out into the rain. Thank you !

- Go Back to the old App

This app was good before the updates. New updates are too slow and keep logging you off.

- Convenient

Using this app while in the city could not be more convenient! It’s very simple to use as well!

- Don’t bother with this app

Finally downloaded it, went to use it, put in my zone number and it reports some error. Just did not work! Downloaded the actual Parkmobile app and that worked just fine (parking downtown Pittsburgh, zone 6025). Don’t bother with this app. Why do they even make it anyway when the Parkmobile app by the same people does the same thing?

- So happy it is a miracle to Pittsburgh

Parking has been terrible for so long in Pittsburgh. This has made life so much easier and efficient.

- Zone numbers

Convenient other than when you have to walk down the street to see what the zone number is. City needs to add the zone number to the signs to increase the convenience of having the App.

- Not a smooth app

The app isn't super intuitive. The steps of a zone and then each zone has different payment options, then time, and then it wouldn't let me do it because I hadn't affected a car. I did it again and then it just kinda worked. It works but it's not good.

- Concern that it puts financial accounts at risk

I love being able to use the app to park, although older versions were much better. The big problem is that it keeps asking me to enter my payment info when I park, even when it shows my cards in my profile. I think it happens whenever they upgrade the app.

- Was great, now horrible

The updated app doesn’t work. Extremely slow, doesn’t recognize numbers, requests new payment information each time- after fighting with this app for 15 minutes on several occasions I have resorted to using my credit card in the parking kiosks. Shame- before it was perfect.

- What a pain to use

Simply a pain to use. My stored credit cards no longer work, so I tried to add a new one, it wouldn’t let me. It doesn’t even allow me to enter a credit card directly. I was forced to open a paypal account and enter my credit card into that just to pay a meter. Took me 15 minutes just to plug a meter.

- Can’t Take it with You

Why can you not take the balance of your time to another zone? Alternately why can you not wnd a session before all the timw has elapsed? No excuse for this, really.

- No other option

This app has frequent problems. From random log-outs, not displaying current parking times, not communicating with the actual parking zones, the list goes on. If there were a different app that could handle the same task, I would choose that without thinking twice.

- Disconnect

I have appointments in Oakland and many times the meters are unable to be located or register when manually typed in. Although by the Grace of God I haven’t received any tickets, it’s very unnerving to be in an appointment or in class and worrying about getting a ticket although I attempted to make the payment.
