Wonderful!. I’m one of those weirdos that prefers to use Apple Maps over Google Maps. Yet, directions searched for in Safari always open in Google Maps. Grrrrr. But - this app saves the day! I’ve Google Maps on my phone so I can get the directions. Google opens, I hit the arrow to use Opener and boom! Opener is there for me to switch over to Apple Maps. It just works! Thanks for this app.

An absolute must have. I’d pay triple for how useful this app is. Incredibly useful if you sideload any apps and has such a large catalogue of supported apps.

Clever App with Transparent Privacy Policy. As soon as I learned it could convert Google Maps links to Apple Maps this app became a must-have! Google continues to make it harder and harder to extract an address from a google maps link. It’s a small thing, but turning a 5 step process into a couple of taps was easily enough to justify $1.99. I look forward to finding out what else it can do. I also wanted to call out its privacy policy. It’s a very short read that spells out what information is and isn’t collected. The policy specifically states it doesn’t log specific urls unless you explicitly send them when requesting support. I’ve started reading privacy policies before downloading any app, and this was one of the better ones I’ve read.

Help!!. Love the app but have one question/suggestion: is there a way to add multiple web browsers? As it stands now you can only default one web browser and it would be nice to have options when using the app. Thanks!

Unreplaceable. This was the first app I remember purchasing once IPhone became my daily driver. I even had to repurchase when I lost access to my previous apple account. I love that it’s an affordable app, something that you don’t see much anymore. That is always much appreciated. The app is there during those frustrating moments you’re having trying to open a link or file on the correct app and the share sheet just isn’t getting you where you need. You’ll wonder why it’s not just native once you get to use to it. You also won’t wanna go back to the dark age when Opener wasn’t apart of your iOS toolset. It just works. Just get it! Costs less than a gallon of gas, so what are you waiting for?

Absolutely invaluable. I use it every day without thinking about it. Those are the best kinds of apps. Wanted to leave a review to show how thankful I am

This app needed—especially if you use Chrome. This is a great app for many reasons, but the top one for me is that Apple doesn’t play well with others sometimes and I prefer to use Chrome as a browser. But if I try to open a website and click their “open in app” button, it just opens the app store even though I already have the app. (Safari will open the app when I already have it, but Chrome does not). That’s where Opener comes in handy! There are times when the app doesn’t always work, but 90+% of the time, it’s dependable. Still 5 stars from me! Update for developers: Is there an issue with iOS 14.5.1? I can’t seem to open a Reddit link. Tried to kill the app and reopen it, but it seems to have gotten hung up.

Great app - my tip. Love this app it works great. I have a tip to use it faster. Use it with back tap under touch - accessibility. You can either set a back tap to the open with opener shortcut or use it with spotlight and open opener from any app. It makes everything faster in my opinion.

Browser Suggestion. First of all, incredible app. Does so much. Secondly: I’d like to suggest a browser for integration. The browser is called Insight. It’s great, you can build your own extensions. Opener is great as well, hoping you can make them both better and add Insight so I can make it my default! Thank you.

It just works ❤️. I love when an app works like it says it will. This app has been one of my ride or dies for a while. It's reliable and consistent and that's saying a lot in the app world. Kudos to the developers for keeping this app running smoothly 👏🏾! While I'd love to see more apps supported, I'm pleased with the apps that are supported because they work. Keep it up! 🏆

Título. The only way I could see the picture is by looking in my phone to find it on the right hand corner and I don’t know what to look at the right side and then it will say I have a new one but it won’t say what I want it is it just says I want it on my right side but it won’t show on my left and it doesn’t say anything about the left or the left or the other one so I’m wondering why it’s there and if it was on my other one but it says something else so it’s not showing up on my other one

Thankful for this. iOS is incredibly frustrating when you want to do something other than the “Apple Way”. This tool gives us back some control. I recommend it. The developer is very responsive to issues as well.

Been using for years now. One of the most useful apps I have and it's buried in a folder somewhere and I never actually open the app besides setting the initial options years ago. I think it was a dollar or two when I got it not sure about now but trust me (and all the other reviews) it's definitely worth the price.

Amazing utility. I’ve been using Opener for years and still regularly find myself impressed by how well it works. Nearly every time I find myself thinking, “Okay, but Opener is gonna have no idea what to do with this one” I am wrong. Can’t say enough good things about it. So glad this app exists.

Junk. This is a poorly designed app without any usefulness in the iOS environment. It’s difficult to use, and it doesn’t allow you to correct links to the top level URL. It’s not very intuitive. The instructions make no sense as if it’s been translated through three languages to get to English. And it doesn’t allow adding in popular apps. Junk. Don’t waste your money on it.

Fantastic. Saves so much time and makes everything easy. One thing I’d like to request, Opener works for the NYTimes app, but the Wirecutter portion of their site does not redirect correctly in the app.

One of the most essential iPhone apps. Opens almost every link into the app it should have opened with in the first place. I can't think of anyone I wouldn't recommend this to. I cannot use my iPhone without it.

Vital functions for iOS “Share”. An example: you’re reading Apple News, and you want to see what the web version of a story looks like. Share to Opener, then “open with Safari app.” Or Firefox Focus; why keep web history you don’t need?

Add Bandcamp please 🙏. I submitted a request through the Opener app for Bandcamp compatibility, but leaving a request here as well for good measure. Other than that, this is a 11/10 indispensable app. Especially handy if for custom/3rd party iOS Shortcuts users, as many shortcuts will only function if shared through Safari rather than a standalone app.

The app you didn’t know you need. This is the handy utility you didn’t know you need until you start using it. For me the most common use is swapping between mapping apps. I’m glad to see the developers are still adding features!

Used for years, rock solid. Opener feels as though it's baked in to my iPhone and iPad experience. I use it regularly, and have without issue for years.

New update bug. Been using this for a year or so and it worked pretty well until the last update. After updating I couldn't open send safari links in firefox, as it didn't show up on the action menu. I tried redownloading it and now opener doesn't even show up on the app intro action menu. Otherwise, this is a very handy app if you routinely use the share button, glad I bought it.

Must have. Allows you to open links with any app you wish, I still don’t understand how this isn’t something built into iOS by default.

AMAZING. Dev within a day added a feature request for INSPECT Browser. Now I can take safari links (better trackpad support, plays better with web apps) and use inspect to preview the console and network tabs during web app development. This literally turned my ipad into a viable replacement for a macbook for on the web app development for web apps

Not for me.... What I absolutely need is an app to PREVENT links opening in apps and allow me to continue in Safari. Hate it when items insist on opening in-app. My workaround is to delete the app from my device (Pinterest, for example). Opener (gave 3 stars because it works OK on the occasion that it chooses to open in something other than Safari) seems so unnecessary, as everything forces me to open in-app as a default!

Exactly what I needed!. When opening a link for directions for work it always automatically opens in Google Maps but I prefer Waze. I hated having to copy and paste the link all the time (only because I have to do it numerous times a day). Now I can open it straight to Waze instead!

Still learning how to use it. Still learning how to use it but it seems to be much easier than it was for me before.

Very useful. You might not realize you're missing it now, but any time you try to "open in" and can't access the things you want, you're missing Opener. It's incredibly simple to use and I use it at least daily. Kind of a bandaid for an otherwise annoying hole in the iOS functionality.

Misleading. Not sure why this app has to be more complicated than not but it does not automate opening links as it says. After clicking link, you have to press share button via safari which then opens app. I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to auto open links straight to the app, also no help on Google. From what other reviews say, it will just remember the app you opened with, but links will open to safari, and you must click the share button, then select opener for it to open the app you chose. I ended up trying another app and had all my links opening automatically without share button in safari within 2 minutes. If it is user error I apologize but some documentation or better description to get this working would be helpful, but seems counterintuitive to have to open a link and then point it to the app, just open the link in the app directly lol

Works beautifully in Apple shortcuts 👌🏾. I was looking for a way for urls to open directly in Instagram from an Apple shortcut and this did the trick! I set the Instagram in the Opener app to automatically open all urls in Instagram so it doesn’t have to ask me every time. I’m so happy I found this solution. 🎉

If only Apple could figure out how to be this consistent. This is it folks. This is such a useful tool. All because it gets the user around one of the most obnoxious long standing bugs in iOS that Apple apparently can’t figure out or just doesn’t care to. When your iphone stops opening app links in the apps on your phone and instead goes to the App Store you now can just install this app and use it to do what Apple can’t. It’s a great alternative to having to backup, restore iOS, and then fix things that don’t come over in backups (oh, google authenticator, why can you not let me include my keys!? The backup is local and encrypted! So unreasonable! So google.) Anyway. This developer has felt your pain for it was also their pain and they have given you their solution to all our pain for a low price. Just buy it already.

Excellent!. Would like to add a search to find out if the app i'm looking for supported or not instead of scrolling through the list it’ll be much better Thanks

Apple should buy this and integrate into iOS. It works perfectly. I just want it to add support for opening a link in the Economist app.

Get it fixed soon. I can’t do anything for a few hours but I’m not doing it right lol I can’t do it right lol I love love you baby mommy love love you mommy love you so mommy I

Maybe I misunderstood…. I’m not sure what this offers for apps that already have the extension for opening via the share menu. For example, Apollo allows you to do this natively through the app. I click a Reddit link, it pulls up the god-awful Reddit mobile site, I tap share, then open in Apollo. From what I can tell Opener has the exact same functionality except you can customize other links with other apps that don’t support this natively (which is cool to have, so there is that). I was under the impression that I could use this tool to click Reddit links from anywhere in iOS and have them automatically launch Apollo. No sharing menu, no copying URLs, etc. I’m happy to be corrected if I’m way off base here but if not I just wanted other potential users to know this.

This is worth every penny. I’ve honestly grown so use to having this app. It is so well implemented it only takes a few steps to open in my favorite apps. If I could give any feedback then I would suggest to allow us to select a default app to launch then automatically load that app. I would say something similar to the way the Siri shortcuts app opens then launches an application the shortcut is set to. If you could remove one of the two clicks it takes to open the application it would make Opener even more amazing.

Fantastic Utility. Exceptionally great for music! It does everything it says on the tin, giving you the control of what app you open links in. It’s the control that should frankly be built into iOS. But beyond what should just ‘be built-in,’ it’s got tons of added utility too. It saves me tons of time opening links I see online to a specific music service in my preferred streaming service! That’s a feature I couldn’t ever expect iOS to do on its own. And it does so much more.

Good app but two things could be better. 1. It would be nice if you could register it as your default browser so you don’t have to use the share extension everytime. 2. I wish it supported Steam links. I know it’s possible because Safari can do it.

First App I Install. A device without opener installed is like going back to the days before mice had two buttons. It may not be flashy, but using devices without it is extremely frustrating. A must have for every user!

🥇AMAZING APP & SERVICE SUPPORT. Continues to be not only one of my most used and treasured apps, but also one of the most consistently stable. Sadly so many developers get caught up in wanting to make nonstop updates that sometimes can even end up ruining what once was an awesome useful app. Thankfully this developer is one of the few that puts "user experience & app stability" as a #1 priority. Which is why I will continue to rant and rave about this app with as many people who are willing to allow me to introduce them to an app resource that they never knew they always needed. So useful it will make you wonder why iOS doesn't have this feature built in by default. 𝙈𝙮 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ THEY ADDED MUSI SUPPORT! I can't say enough positive things about the quality of customer service and support offered by this apps developer Tim. Tim not only promptly responded to my email asking for the app Musi to be added as an option in Opener but even after informing me that my request would not function if added because of an issue on Musi's side. He still went above and beyond by getting in contact with the other developers until he was able to make my request happen. If that's not awesome developer support I don't know what is.

What more could you ask for?. I’m going on 3 years or so using this application, and I don’t ever see myself stopping unless similar functionality is added to iOS out of the box. The gap that this application fills for iOS functionality is an absolute necessity in how I use my phone. Not only does this perform flawlessly in its given task, Tim takes feedback and implements feature requests if he can. Love this application, will continue to be a long time user! Awesome!

Fix for the biggest annoyance on ios. No brainier to purchase. I have no idea why it is not native to ios to open an app when clicking a link.

Absolute must have!. This is low-key one of my favorite apps I have! It just works, and the developer is super quick at fixing issues or adding support for new apps. If you have an iPad Pro, this is especially awesome as it brings you one step closer to having a “real” computer-like experience.

Just what I needed!. I’ve been using this daily for years. Thought I should drop a five star review. Great work; keep it up!

The best. The best things go unnoticed because that’s how well they work. You barely notice them doing their thing...Good design. Good artwork. Always appears effortless. This app is that. This is a super useful app that stays out of the way! If you think you might need this, you probably do, and you definitely won’t regret it.

Doesn’t work - don’t waste your money. Says it works for the Apollo (reddit) app, but clearly doesn’t. Unless “work” means not being able to open any text links in reddit or only being able to open web links by clicking copy, then opening up their app an then letting it launch the app you wanted in the first place. More symptomatic of apple and Reddit’s issue, but I’d have been better served by lighting $2 on fire.

Must have. I love this app, it honestly should be standard functionality in iOS but it is not, so I am glad this app exists. Very easy to use!

Can’t do without it. This app is so incredibly useful and it’s amazing it isn’t a feature built in to iOS. Thank you so much for developing it I use it daily

Doesn't work as I expected. I bought this thinking I was going to be able to set my iphone to understand that if I open Reddit links, this app should auto open it in my 3rd party app. But instead you have to manually open this app after remembering to copy your link, then hit paste, THEN hit the Reddit app, as if you didn't already tell it what it should default to. Very disappointing.

Love this little utility!. This makes it possible to open safari links in the app I want. It also makes possible to do it in a lot of different apps via the share sheet. This is a genius app and I don’t know how people can go without it.

Poor. Bought this. Doesn't open links in apps. Fail.

Excellent! 👌. Best "Open in" extension on the AppStore hands down!!!!

It does the thing!. No nonsense, just does the thing great

This is needlessly complicated. Huge learning curve and I’d destroying my mental health. I can’t believe I paid $1600. F0r this stress waste of time, and constant disappointment.

kelp. great app, please add support for casts

Opener is really nice. Firstly, I am rubbish at writing email subjects, post titles, and, it now becomes apparent, review titles. Don’t judge me. Opener is super handy to have on my phone, it never reduces me to tears of rage and frustration, nor cheats on me with my best friend. It always pays its round, and is the last to exit the building during a fire drill (having first made sure Mrs. Pemberton has collected her goldfish and is headed in the general direction of the meeting point). Opener is one of only a handful of apps to have maintained an unbroken residence on my iPhone. I love it. Frequently.

Great app. Amazing app!! Please add minihack as a hacker news app, the current app boreal is really buggy and only allows 25 articles before paying and not really worth the price.

Nice app, Now I can open my favourite youtube channel, video or even playlists with one click.. If you’re looking to do something like me, it works and it’s very very easy to open specific videos on youtube or websites with one click by not having to type it yourself. It’s very easy to set up and works well on iPhone just add shortcuts. You can even choose if you want to open the links on which websites and set auto open, next time you run the shortcut you only need one tap.

excellent. love it. use all the time.

POS. This is an expensive POS. Does not work. Can't get links to associate with apps. 0 stars.

Must have!. This app is what should be built in to iOS by default.

Great app. Has been from day one and keeps getting better. It’s small, fast and does exactly what it says on the tin. Love it. Keep up the awesome work 👏 👏 👏

Indispensable.. Must-have with Apollo for Reddit.

Works great!. Massive timesaver due to iOS not allowing me to choose Firefox as my default browser. With Opener I can open everything in Firefox. Thanks!

Amazing app. This app is indispensable.

Great app. Marvellous...wish I’d had this years ago. Hope support for The Washington Post, The Economist and other major news sites will be added soon.

One of the best apps I’ve downloaded this year. So dang useful, awesome dev too. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Makes iOS Less of a Headache. I love this app. It was recommended on Reddit and I bought it and haven’t looked back. Works flawlessly every time and makes iOS a little more tolerable.

Terrific utility. I use this app everyday pretty much. There are so many times when a link opens in Safari when I really want it to open in app, namely Twitter links. This app is a must-have for any iOS device.

Does not support Apollo TestFlight app. Doesn’t support it but supports the non-TestFlight version.

Beautifully executed. The simplicity, usefulness and options offered are great to supercharge the share sheet and bridge the gap between apps.

It's a great app with one small flaw.. It has no support for auto open in Firefox? Really wish it had support for auto open in Firefox. Unless it's there and I'm missing something?

Works great!. Haven't had an issue with this app. Using it more frequently than I expected.

Crashes and mislinks. Opening in brave browser crashes the app

well worth the $2. works smoothly and solves a real problem. wish i’d known about this app before!

Gives a lot more function to iOS!. Wow this app is amazing. Allows you to use apps from share sheet. Open links to apps. Much more you can do with this. Highly recommended and worth the price!

Opener — does what it says on the tin. If the only thing I ever used Opener for was sending YouTube videos to play in the YouTube app, it would be worth it. Been using it for years.

My fav app. Been using this app since day 1. Love it

Collects a lot of user data. Should collect less data. Good app though.

Best utility app. I have had this app for years and it is my #1 utility app. I love it and find it indispensable. Thank you!

No longer works with nytimes app. Worked fine until newest update. Only reason I purchased the app that has a SINGULAR FUNCTION.

Excellent app for what it does. So simple but feels like it should be built-in functionality.

Does not work as advertised.. You have to press Share within Safari to even get it to work? Useless. I want a refund.

Fantastic. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Would love it even more if there were supprt for discogs.

Didn’t work for opening from a text message. Didn’t work for my use case. I need to open a Redfin link sent y a friend via iMessage. Still opens in safari.

Waze link no more working. Waze link stop working . Developer please look into.

Doesn’t work with google map links or any addressed for that matter. Waste of money

The missing LINK. This app should be iOS default.

Super Power. Opener is a super power that has completely transformed how I operate on my phone. It bridges the gap between semi walled off apps.

Doesn't Work With Discord. Bought to open links in Discord, doesn't support Discord. I thought it was a pretty popular app, but looks like only Boomer apps are supported.

Must have. How did I live without this app until now? One of the best purchases I've ever made. This app is absolutely great.

Critical Functionality. I tried uninstalling it to see how much I really use this. I didn't last 5 hours.

Worked the first day only. Worked perfectly fine the first day now it does nothing.

False Advertising. The app doesn’t open links in Apple News, as tested with both WSJ and Businessweek links. According to its website (and the ‘open in Apple News’ button in the app) it should support Apple News. It’s only $2, so not a huge loss, but still a fraud and an instance of false advertising.

Most-useful, most-used app.. Probably use this app in one way or another at least 50x/day.

PRIVACY CONCERNS. THE DEVELOPER TRACKS YOUR USER DATA. BEWARE. Otherwise, a very useful app. *Rating will remain the same until private personal user data is respected and honored.

App crash on start up. The app crashes as soon as I try to launch. Can't rate it but with one star only as I paid for this app. Hopefully the crash@startup will be resolved as I've removed and re-installed to no avail.

Helpful solution.. I really appreciate this tool for dealing with link management in iOS. It’s a shame that this is needed at all. Opener is the best solution I’ve found so far.

Just Get It. That is all.

1st try, no support. 1st app I try using this for and of course there is no support for it. PayPal, you do not support PayPal? Unreal. I’ll remove a star each time I hit an app that isn’t supported that I would never in a million years think wouldn’t be. How many active users does PayPal have? Tons.

Great when works but not enough apps supported.. Wish it had more updates or the way to add schemas via a community site.

Doesn’t work. The whole reason I got was so that I could use Safari with Google search and have addresses open in Apple Maps instead of Google. Epic fail. It doesn’t work.

Essential app. This should be part of iOS.

Nice concept but…. Opener did not work for me. Pop up to open in app or safari still annoyingly pops up. Also there could be more supported apps in the Opener app list. Didn’t even see the app I needed. I didn’t even bother to request it. Waste of $2.15. 🫤

Used to be great. This app used to work perfectly, but all you get anymore when trying to open a FB link in the app via Opener is “An error has occurred, we’re unable to open this link.” Bummer.

Pick up the phone baby. I know you home baby

Indispensable. Opener is small, simple, and uncomplicated. It does its job and it does it reliably. It’s the third app I install on a new phone, after Reddit and Wikipedia.

Does not work with Apollo. Uninstalled all other Reddit apps. Used different browsers. Went through the setup multiple times. Goodbye $2

Useless. The app does not fix the issue of clicking on a link and iMessage and it opening in Safari.

Not accurate. I tried to open apple maps location in google maps.. and it’s not accurate.. waste of money

Amazing app. Amazing app, it’s working with tweek apps

Yes. This rules for opening Twitter and Reddit in something other than Safari or their respective bad default apps.

Good app. Deviantart links aren’t working despite being listed as supported.

Very very useful. Do yourself a favor and download. I use this application multiple times a day! Apple needs to employ the developer and have them work on integrating this into ios. Great work

Installed. Tried. Disappointed.. This app is obviously a solution in search of a problem. Damned if I can figure out WHAT the “problem” is with my iOS ecosystem that this app actually provides a “solution” for. Really. I have Safari. It works—very well. Try as I might, I cannot find any reason for having this app. Someone recommended. Waste of $2. Just saying.

Doesn’t work for soundcloud. Got this app specifically for soundcloud and it doesn’t work.

Love it.. I use it every day. If you’re reading this at all, you probably already know what it’s for. It works & is super useful.

Waste of Money. I paid for this app just for it to not work. Waste of my time and money. Not worth it at all

Avoid. The app only allows apps to be selected as default app when you go through the share process every time, useless and too time consuming, not what they advertised.

I use this app all the time and it's fantastic. Really appreciate how quick and flexible the app is. Thank you!

Go somewhere else. This app doesn’t work on all links. Worthless

Just make shortcuts. Unless you have no idea how to make shortcuts this app is not worth it. Just Google what you want to do and find a shortcut for it.

Does not work as expected. The app does not open links in app automatically. You have to do it from the share function, so you might as well just use a shortcut to open the app at that point and save your money. There’s another app that opens the links automatically so I’ll be using that.

Apple fix. Flex broken apple share system

Doesn’t convert drop pins from. Apple. It doesn’t convert drop pins from Apple Maps to Google Maps accurately. It will open but the locations aren’t converting correctly and I don’t know that it’s the apps fault because it does “open”.

Doesn’t work. Installed, opener app never appears as an option to share within any app. Cost money and legit doesn’t function.

Works. I had some difficulty at first but figured it out. Nice app.

Dynamic Island. The in-app Safari doesn’t align with the Dynamic Island on iPhone 15 Pro Max when invoking Opener from the Share Sheet of a card in the Google app.
