Hatch Grow Comments & Reviews 2026
Lost EVERYTHING when switching devices. *** Update: they had me log out and back in and the only day of stuff missing was the day I switched phones. Excuse my previous hormonal rage, this app is great👌🏼*** I thought all of the information would be saved on the account, not on the device I was using! I really liked this for tracking, but I updated my phone and I lost all of the data I had been tracking for my son’s 2 mo appt at the end of November😭😭 plus, I lost all of the daily photos I had been using😭😭😭 if I could get them back, I’d do whatever needed to be done, but I honestly don’t know what to do. I’ve tried refreshing everything. It was a great app and super easy to track with, but I can’t believe it wouldn’t actually save my data well. Oh, and all his birth weight and height tracking stats!! Those are gone too and I had already gotten rid of my paperwork for those because I thought this digital platform was solid😭
Best app for tracking everything!. This app has been super helpful for tracking everything! My baby is 2 months old now, we just recently stopped nursing (slow let down, early bottle introduction) and I’m now exclusively pumping. It helps to see what her patterns are starting to be for eating and sleeping so we can prepare and to track my pumping times and amounts. I’ve had dips in supply and this has helped me to understand what I and the baby need. A couple helpful features: me and my husband have the app and can input data individually and data can be timed or manually entered. We also have the Hatch scale and sound machines (we have 2 because they’re the best). You do not need the products to find this app helpful at all, but that’s been nice for us too!
Good but please Make Night Sleep Easier to View. I used the glow app suites for conceiving and tracking pregnancy but a couple months after my son was born I switched to Hatch Baby because I thought the interface was much easier to view. Now that we’re going through a night time sleep regression, I would love to be able to see the full night time in the daily schedule view to compare nights easier. It works pretty well for the size of a phone screen but I just want to, for example, see 7 or 8pm and scroll right to see all the way through to the morning, rather than having to scroll all the way left to see info after 2 am easily. I’d also like to have a solids tracker to keep track of which days we started new food items. Thank you for the all the other features though, it’s been so helpful to keep track in our sleep deprived haze!
Buggy. This app is buggy as all get out. I’ve had to restart my phone, and delete the app and reinstall multiple times on iPhone 14 Pro. Now the measurements on my wife’s phone (also a 14 pro) for yesterday are showing up correctly, but they’re missing from my phone app. Today’s show up correctly, and 2 days ago and older show up… but not yesterday. Also, poor execution on the feeding recording. If I’m starting a bottle timer, makes more sense to put in starting amount first before I forget how much is in the bottle, then subtract ending amount if not finished. App doesn’t allow this information until after timer is finished. If you’re not using formula your starting amount might not be consistent each feeding. Little things like that. Overall just really hard to use. If we didn’t have the scale I’d switch apps.
Love it! But would recommend one improvement. I think this app is wonderful. I got it specifically for the feature of weighing my baby after each breast-feeding session. I was concerned with my first baby not knowing if he got enough milk at each session, so for the second baby, I bought this wonderful product. I use it multiple times a day and use all the features on it. However, I’d like to suggest an improvement, on one of your existing features. As a busy mom, with a two-year-old, scrolling through the time feature to enter time takes longer than necessary. So, I’d like to suggest adding a manual tap entry rather than a scroll entry. The tap entry is available when baby is sleeping, and you want to edit in the moment. I love the tap entry because it’s so much quicker and saves me lots of time. I have all tap entry on a different baby tracking app that I really love, but rather than using two baby apps at a time, I’m now just using the hatch app. Would really love your consideration to add the tap entry feature rather than the scroll entry. Thank you so much for a very special product for parents.
Great app for parents of newborns. This app provided an excellent place for my wife and I to actually track our baby’s key activities so we could make data informed decisions for things like how to get baby to sleep and to track if we were feeding enough. This saved both of our minds from being completely sleep deprived AND helped us get our child on a regular sleeping/feeding pattern within a few weeks and then sleeping through the night after establishing the rhythm. We cannot recommend this app enough to friends and family who are either in the same stage or are thinking about having kids in the near future. That said, there are two areas of improvement for the app - (1) adding/syncing data while traveling on flights that cross time zones (or maybe even flights in general). Currently we needed to use screenshots to record our entries on the flight and then manually entered the data after turning off airplane mode. (2) Dark mode theme for nighttime entries. When opening the app in darkness, the white background is harsh on eyes that are used to the darkness of night.
Through sleep deprivation and tired nights.... Hatch Baby is there for my wife and I. Considering how much we’re keen on keeping up with every detail of our baby, Hatch helps us do just that. After reading about some sync issues, I was slightly apprehensive that it would be AS good as I would like it to be, though being a software engineer myself, I was really pleased to see the developers respond to those concerns. Since using it for the past week, I’ve noticed no issues like that myself, and feel confident that if any issues were to come up they would be addressed. The one suggestion I would have is to make it easier to view daily summaries of the past few days, at least 3, but I don’t see a need to stretch that anymore than the past 5. I really enjoy the daily summary view, especially when interacting with my pediatrician, but having to sort out the sometimes confusing bar graph to determine the past X number of feeds / diapers in the past few days is a bit more difficult than I’d like it to be. Looking forward to continue using this application through the first few years of my babies life!
Ok, not great...needs improvement. Feeding are measure in oz only not able to include milliliters and doing the math when trying to add information and attend to my baby is frustrating. Also should allow me to input time feed without using the timer if I know I feed for 10 minutes let me just input it without quickly! Also purchased the hatch grow scale as I needed to measure my baby weights gain and did not want to wait for ever doctors visit. This app again is unable to tell me waights gain in any other measurement other then lbs and oz. (I can do the math but would rather spend my time and energy attending to my baby or getting sleep) Very frustrating and should be an easy fix. Not sure why this didn’t come up in bata testing.
Terrible product with a terrible UI that had a lot of potential. I really hoped to like the Hatch scale, but honestly I hate it. Hatch scale itself doesn't have any UI or buttons, and everything is done through the app. I don't have time to fumble through the phone and tap through the app when both my hands are tied with a squirming baby. The most upsetting part is it could've been great. It would've worked amazingly if they just added Shortcuts/Siri support so I could trigger the scale with voice control. But they didn't. Instead, their last update is about some stupid font update that nobody cares about. The fact that they didn't factor in situational disability into their UX just makes their scale an overpriced piece of junk that i rarely use because it's so inconvenient. Should've just gotten Keekaroo instead--at least it has better padding.
Just unbelievably buggy. I would have second guessed buying the Hatch Grow had I know the app is not being developed anymore. Bugs aren’t fixed, improvements aren’t made, and patches are going out. I was excited to see that Hatch finally made a recent update so I mistakenly updated my app. It seems like Hatch was required to push an update to comply with some new account deletion requirements and decided to change the font too for whatever reason (to make it seem fresh? to make it seem like other Hatch product branding?), but now the app is even more problematic than before. I don’t know how it could be worse, but amazingly, it is! I would stop using it but it’s tied to our Hatch Grow and we have far too much other data recorded that we like to refer back to. Such a bummer, so much potential wasted.
Good app, but sync issues. Overall, I think this is a good start. However, the biggest pain point for me is the way the app synchronizes (or sometimes fails to synchronize data with the server). Some context: My wife and I both use the app to track feedings and diapers for our daughter. We take shifts during the night, making sure to log if/when we did a feeding so that we don’t need to wake each other up to get that info when we change shifts. Unfortunately, most of the time, the app on one of our devices does not reflect events logged on the app on the other of our devices. This is sometimes remedied with some tinkering, such as a pull to refresh and/or backgrounding and reopening the app. But obviously the desired behavior is that a logged event on one device is instantly and automatically reflected on all devices logged in to the same account. I happen to be an iOS Software Engineer, so I am sympathetic to the challenges of providing a synchronized state across devices (particularly if you’re also relying on CoreData for your local store). My best guess is that you guys are waiting to post user changes to the server until either the modified table view will disappear, or the app enters the background. An update where that sync routine is triggered immediately following any modification would definitely get me to 5-stars on this app!
Lifesaver!. I could rave on and on about this app. As a first time mom, I felt like this covered all of my bases. It was basically my second brain. Especially in the beginning, there is so so much going on and so much to remember. Your body is running on fumes from the late nights with a newborn, and you can’t remember if you changed a diaper 2 hours ago or 5. lol It was so wonderful to look at my app and see how long it has been since a diaper change or feeding or sleep. It really helped me quickly hone in on exactly what my baby needed. It’s almost like a baby translator! lol Okay, I hope the developer’s see this, because if I could recommend any changes/requests it would number 1 be to have a “dark mode” on the app where all the background is black. My baby has been woke up several times by me inputting something in my app while I’m thinking of it. The dark mode would be AMAZING! Also, I would love to track baths. All I would want is to input a bath at 5:30pm and some notes (for example). If there were a food section to input when my baby tries a food for the first time, and also a medication/ temperature reading section for when my baby catches a bug. Having the dark mode and these other sections would make this app unbeatable! It’s still my top app rec to any mom, 1st time or not.
Amazing app, recommend a few updates. This app is absolutely wonderful! It’s so easy to track information and I love that I can share with family members. Highly recommend! I do have a few suggestions to improve this app, though: 1. Make the feeding timer live-sync between devices. Sometimes my husband will start the feeding timer on his phone and then leave the room, but the data doesn’t show up on my phone unless he saves the feeding time. It would be nice if we both saw the same timer and could pause/switch as needed, rather than relying only on the device it was started on. 2. Update the data chart options in the feeding section to show how much time was spent on the left vs. right side. This would just be helpful info to compare! 3. Update the data chart options in the diaper section to show how many wet vs. dirty. This would be helpful to show in a data chart instead of having to manually count.
Okay for sharing information in the short term. Not reliable to keep data long term.. The app was okay to use even when it worked but nothing groundbreaking. We just had our second child, almost 3 years after our first. We opened the app again to use it on this child, hoping to see our first child’s information again. His name still showed up but not any of the data we entered. My partner’s phone did show his data but there was mo option to share the data from her phone to mine. In a last ditch effort to retrieve the information I deleted him from my phone but that deleted him from my partner’s phone as well. We’ll try another company’s app for sharing information but document it in more reliable manners. I’m just glad we didn’t waste our money on any of the Hatch devices. If they function anything like the app, they’re not worth the high price tag.
Meh. Won’t sync across devices consistently. So temperamental.. I like the user interface and options. It works well with the changing pad though the weight accuracy is all over the place it gives me a fair general idea of where the baby is at. But what drives me crazy, now two kids in is how it won’t sync across caregivers easily. Ive found if you try repeatedly with putting your phone on airplane (obviously won’t sync) but then taking it off then 50% of time it won’t sync. Such a pain. Trying other apps now so I don’t have to manually get details from my spouse or other caregivers. This has been true for two kids. So disappointed it hasn’t been fixed since the first kid.
Wonderful! Have some ideas I hope they incorporate 🙂. We bought the scale due to our girl’s low weight and my wife’s complications causing her milk to start off slower. Great to gain a piece of mind knowing our baby was healthy and helpful to share data with our doctors! App is easy to use and love the customizable ribbon to suit our needs! I have a couple ideas for developers: It would be sweet to be able to customize the 3D Touch menu on iOS 🤪 Can date and time in diaper/pumping tab be one field like the nursing tab and native iOS apps so you don’t have to click twice 📅⌚️ To save time, remember recently used data. Example: pumping would default to “breast milk” & “both” if last used. Same with “bottle” vs “nursing” for feeding 🍼 Hopeful to see sleep data someday being able to pull data from our Nanit 📹 Even still don’t know where we’d be without hatch baby! 🤱 😊
Good, but could use a couple more features. Great app for tracking, but there are a couple of things which I think would definitely make it better. The main issue that sort of hinders my wife and I from using it is that only the caregiver who starts a nap can stop it, so if I put my child to sleep, and then leave my wife to care for her, my wife would have to text me to stop the nap instead of being able to stop the timer from her phone. It would be nice to be able to track head circumference. There have also been issues with the Hatch scale being unable to pair with my wife’s phone.
NEEDS A “NIGHT MODE”!!!!. As a parent, I am already waking up ALL HOURS of the night for my newborn. Using an app to track sleep and feedings is helpful, since heaven knows I’m so tired I can’t remember a thing - however - in the middle of the night, looking at the bright white/blue colors of the app contributes to making it MORE DIFFICULT for me to fall back asleep after tending to my baby for the thousandth time in the middle of the night. I am already sleep deprived enough as it is!!! This app absolutely NEEDS to have a night mode to make the colors in a dark scheme for us ALREADY sleep deprived parents. This is such a basic concept for sleep improvement that it is honestly non negotiable - bright cell phone light reduces melatonin, making it harder to fall asleep. The opportunities I get for sleeping are so minimal and short as it is, I certainly don’t need ANOTHER thing keeping me awake. Especially not something designed to help parents. The tips for parents are helpful and I enjoy the information I get for filling out the surveys. It’s also SO wonderful to be able to weigh my baby before and after feedings to track milk intake. I use this app to keep track of wake windows and time between feeds. Very effective for those purposes.
Great tracking app!. I’ve used this app with 2 babies and it is very helpful and works great. Never had any bugs, the features all work as they are supposed to. Really helpful to track last side used with breastfeeding, sleep and the daily view gives you the whole picture. You can also see your statistics over time which helps for things like how many hours a day the baby is sleeping or eating. One suggestion I would give to the developers is that the timers be show. On your phone’s Lock Screen. When you use the app all the time it gets annoying to have to open your phone and go into the app to check time. Thanks!
It’s a start. While this is one of the more modern and clean looking baby apps lots of room for improvement. Very difficult for multiples since to switch between babies you would think you would simply tap the babies name to toggle between your babies since multiples will typically be eating, pooping and sleeping at similar times. Instead you have to click more button scroll to top, switch babies, then go back to the screen you were on for the other baby such as feeding. Hopefully this big oversight will be fixed so you can simply switch babies with one click of their name. Unlike other apps like Glow, you can’t track when your baby is sick, or medications, or vaccinations or appointments, temperature, etc. The plus button to add things like bowels, pee etc is a tiny plus in top right which is a big stretch on iPhone X. Those primary actions would be better as a floating circle button at bottom. The major glaring issue is the whole point of baby apps are for tracking so that you can export the data to pdf for doctor visits or others when needed. Currently there is a simple CSV export which not helpful at all compared to the leading baby apps such as Sprout which generates a beautiful PDF with relevant data based on what you need and charts etc. A key feature comes across as more of an after thought and I imagine why there are so few users since it’s such a pivotal feature.
Love this app, but could use some updates. I LOVE this app! It’s so great to be able to track how long my baby eats when nursing as well as tracking her sleep. I love the daily schedule view to see how she’s meeting our parenting goals. However, I do wish the app would change a few things. I wish the nursing timer buttons were larger (Left/Right) & the save button was smaller or in a different place so I didn’t accidentally hit it while trying to switch sides. I also wish you could customize your “most used” features at the bottom of the dashboard. I don’t track diapers now that she’s older. I would, however, prefer if the pumping option were there instead. Thanks for such a great, app, though! I still highly recommend.
Great App. Love the app! I had a excel spreadsheet Printed off to track diapers, feeding times/dates/amount and types. This app covers everything and more!!!! I LOVE IT! So excited to capture weight and length and pumping time and amount too! So convenient! I will say our daughter does not like the Hatch Baby Grow without a covering of some type because it’s cold. But with recommendation from a friend we stick a puppy pad on it so it doesn’t weigh much and it’s not as chilly. The Zeroing feature allows you to zero it out. The puppy pad also doubles for when she randomly decides to pee when she’s getting weighed.
Decent tracking app, missing important feature, and security concern. This app generally works well. Our biggest issue is the timer “lives” on your local device until you hit the stop button. As such, two parents can’t look at/manipulate the same timer, which is a desire of ours for roughly half of all naps. The reason I have to give this app a negative rating due to the Universal Clipboard. My iPad or Mac can copy something and it can be pasted on another of my devices. Recently, it came to light apps were reading this data without users being aware so Apple, in iOS 14 introduced a message any time an app read your clipboard. To my surprise, Hatch Baby is triggering that. Why would Hatch Baby want to know what is in my clipboard when I’m looking at how long my baby has been asleep? What are they doing with that data? Very fishy and a large enough issue I cannot trust or recommend this app.
Lifesaver and User Friendly. I downloaded this app bc of all the positive reviews only to track baby’s feedings in my notes app for baby’s first month. Then we started having trouble with overnight sleeping and getting on a schedule when I realized, I had no clue how much my baby was sleeping (or not sleeping). This app got us back on track and allows for both parents to use it, how genius is that?!?! I love all the built in charts and every single feature serves a purpose. Will be using this app for this baby and future ones too.
Confusing UX & WAY too many features to use for baby weighing. This app suffers from trying to do everything and do everything poorly. We use this app to use the hatch grow scale and with a tiny icon in the top corner as the only way to use the scale it makes our daily weigh in much more difficult than it needs to be. Finding past weights is also not straightforward. With tabs at the bottom and icons all over the place there is no consistency in design or focus. More used items or useful functions should have a larger focus and unfortunately adding a picture is the focus. I take pics on my phone but don’t need to add them to this app on a daily basis. Whoever is head of app product UX needs to take a hard look at what scale users need and maybe just design a more focused app for them or ditch all the extra bells and whistles that 5% of users use.
Crashes often. When logging sleeps that start before midnight and that go into the next day, the entirety of the sleep is logged for the first day. So if you start the sleep at 11:55pm on day 1 and it goes until 7am on day 2, the entire 6:55 is logged for the first day. There’s no easy way to get an accurate recording of how much you baby sleeps in a day without doing the math for each log. I suppose you could end the sleep at 11:59 and start another one at 12, but then not only is that extra work, you also aren’t keeping track of what is likely the longest sleep your baby has. Fix this issue and I would give this app 5 stars. Edit: now it keeps crashing every time I delete or change an entry. Since I’m editing the sleeps to end at midnight and start up again, it crashes on me every single day. I changed my rating from 4/5 to 2/5.
Good but could easily be better. I love this app but I think there are a few easy fixes that could make it more user friendly: 1) make it easy to share the same platform with a partner or caregiver; 2) when a sleep recording is “paused,” the app should record the time that it is paused - not the actual time you go back and remember to hit save. Who knows if baby is going to go back to sleep?! 3) record the actual sleep baby gets in 24 hours, not the sleep that is started in that day and then carries over to the next; and 4) record and display the total day-time/nap sleep a baby gets in any given day!
Great App. Highly recommend this app. It tracks type and length of feedings, number and type of diapers changed, allows for editing if needed. Has timers for pumping and nap times. The fact that it syncs with Alexa devices is a game changer, you can prompt commands while you’re actively caring for your baby. My husband and I both use it through Alexa but it has a difficult time creating some timers so we still need to use the app to edit what we really intended. If the app could actively see the timer counting based off the Alexa command that would prompt me to give it 5 stars. But I have to end the timer command first before I can see its line item in the app. Still a great app and it has helped me tremendously keep a track of my babies feeding and sleeping
Easy. I’m a huge fan of this app. I have used similar apps before and this one is the easiest and most simple to use. It is so convenient to track all of the data related to baby. I have the Hatch Baby grow skill, so we are also able to do weighted feeds, which is why we got the app to begin with. My only qualm is that I wish the weights were recorded during the weighted feeds. Because I always wanna go back and double check. The amount, and it is not under the feeding section or the weight section.
Love the app but needs better Alexa/App syncing. This app has been very helpful for my wife and I to track our newborn’s activities. However, logically, there should be a way to start and stop, or find out how long an activity has been going on, regardless of where the activity is started. For example if I start a nursing from the app, Alexa cannot tell me how long the nursing has been going on. Same thing the other way, if I start an activity through Alexa, this should start the timer in the app. I should be able to check the app’s timer or ask Alexa. Fix this, and this app is golden. Edit: Another example, if I start a nursing with Alexa, baby falls asleep, I don’t want to have to speak to Alexa to stop to risk waking. Should be able to go to the app and stop it from there.
App Crashed?. This app was really great until my child turned 1 month old. I went to add a feeding session, and I suddenly don’t have access to any of my information. I’m getting a message that says “Oops. You don’t have any babies associated with this account”. I added my husband, parents, and mother in law. They can all still see the account. I tried a number of troubleshooting options to no avail. I reached out to tech support, and I have not received any resolution. This is really disappointing since I’m using the app to answer questions at pediatrician and postpartum appointments and because I enjoyed the surveys and updating a photo everyday. Someone recommended the Huckleberry app, so that’s what I guess I will have to use now.
Helpful but could improve. The app keeps crashing on my iPhone but works on ipad. I wish the pad had output directly on the pad without having to log into the app. Holding a baby, iPad and opening the app to get their weight is difficult. This may be a user issue, but I could never figure out where to go to see the actual weight when logging a feeding. It tells me how much he ate, but I also wanted to see the before and after weight. Also, I will log a weight entry and it won't appear immediately, even after refreshing and closing and reopening app. This product is still really helpful and I don't regret buying it, although I wish the weight increments were even more precise. I'd like to know when the quarter ounce increments bump to the next number. For example, if it's .49 ounces, is that rounded down to .25? This can make a big difference in feeding amount over the course of a day.
Love this app overall but could still improve. I really like this app so far. It tracks mostly what I need and some of the charts are helpful. I really like the daily schedule section the best (ability to hide and show different things that are being tracked is super helpful) and the weight trends. I also like the weekly averages that are on the stats page. It would be extremely helpful to be able to track food as another person suggested. It would also be good to see stats on dirty vs wet diapers (my doctor always asks this question) and longest sleep per week (again a question my doctor asks). At some point it would be nice for the parent to be able to set goals for nap times a schedule or for the app to offer some suggestions based on the babies trends if possible.
App Crashes, data lost. I like the hatch grow scale and found it helpful monitoring my newborn twins. Unfortunately, the app has consistently been glitchy. My husband and I each had it on our phones but used the same account so we could monitor weights together. It worked ok at first but then a month in the app kept crashing on my husbands phone. We then just used it on my phone which was annoying but at least it worked. I’ve now gotten a brand new iPhone and none of the data has crossed over even though I’m logged into the same account. It works for logging new weights but has not kept any of the old information or pictures I uploaded. Total waste of time. This app is only useful with the grow to weigh the baby but I suggest storing data, photos etc elsewhere!
Great App but One Flaw. My husband and I track feedings, sleep, and my pumps since I’m an exclusive pumper. We love the app and that you can easily add other caregivers to an account BUT for whatever reason pumping records are not synced with the servers and are only stored locally. This means I always have to tell my husband when I need to pump next since he can’t see it and also can’t see the data for ounces pumped each day. This seems like a bug to me since everything else syncs across multiple users. Please fix this! Also a feature suggestion: for Feedings, add a field to enter the ounces offered and one for ounces drank. This helps someone who is exclusively pumping account for any missing ounces.
Amazing app. Please increase the size of the hatch scale button.. Amazing app. I use it everyday and it’s really helpful. One of the most important feature of the app is to record my baby’s weight using the $150 hatch scale that we bought. But the scale button is so tiny and on top of the screen that it’s so hard to reach and click. Can you please increase the size of the button and place it in a more accessible position on the screen. Imagine trying to click the tiny button on a 6 inch phone screen with one hand while keeping the baby in another. Otherwise a 5 star app. Delivers more that i paid for.
Very useful app needs more customization. This app has been great for tracking all sorts of metrics. I do wish for the feeding that I could set a default feeding style such as bottle w/formula feeding and that stays selected unless otherwise changed. I also wish that the selection option was nursing or formula then under nursing was the option of breast feeding or bottle. I find it annoying that I have to select bottle > amount > time > bottle. When It could be formula > amount > time. One whole button eliminated. 6-8 times a day I know it’s a small inconvenience but it would be more intuitive this way.
Good app- survey questions poor. The app itself is fine/good. I used it with 3 kids so far and with my first and second when I was nursing it was helpful in knowing how much they were eating (obviously the main point of the product/app). With my third baby, I was only nursing about once to twice a day before switching to completely exclusively pumping because he has a painful latch and wasn’t really improving. We still use the pad as a scale when we want to weigh him. But these survey questions in the app are so dumb to be honest because even though I am 100% a breastfeeding mom exclusively pumping, the questions will say like is your baby biting you (yes/no/im not breastfeeding). There should be a 4th option of none of these. There are so many questions that come up that the answers do not apply to my situation. Not just breastfeeding related questions. But it just is so annoying how It acts like there’s no other options besides nursing or “not breastfeeding” like as if people can’t combo feed with formula or partially nurse and partially bottle feed pumped milk. The question/answer writers for their surveys just need to be more inclusive in general bc if they’re actually trying to get an accurate response and idea of what people’s answers are, they need to provide more choices than their narrow minded options currently. Rant over 🙃
SUPER buggy - but could be great if they fixed it. The app has nearly all the features I want and I love the integration with the hatch scale/changing pad. However, the app is super buggy. It’s impossible to delete an entry - it either shuts down the app or just doesn’t do anything when you hit delete. Every once in a while the app will just stop opening and I’ll have to delete it and re-install. When I’ve done this, it sometimes deletes the last day of data which is super frustrating. My husband and I have linked accounts so that we can both log entries for our baby. Most of the features have synced but for some reason he can’t access any of the pumping entries I’ve created. So many problems!
My only suggestion. ... is to have the timer just pop up once your baby is weighed after clicking “start a feeding”. This would make it much easier to time and track the feeding at each breast. Other wise a user needs to track the feeding separately then once done transpose the information to he weighed feeding and delete the timed feeding... make that happen and you have a perfect app :) (except that the daily picture can’t be cropped or placed, my baby’s head gets cutoff most of the time especially when choosing from my photos library)
Good for a few weeks, then went haywire. This app worked great for us with our newborn at first— we have a hatch rest+ lamp and though it doesn’t sync with this app we have been happy with the lamp and decided to continue to use hatch products for recording diaper changes, feedings, and pumping schedules. In the last week it’s become unusable. My husband and I can’t see each other’s entries and then entries started disappearing from our own phones— we know because some of them were showing up for the other spouse who did not enter them. As of this evening, I can’t even log into the app because it says I have no children set up on it, even though I have not changed any settings and my husband can see our child on his phone— but it looks like all the data I entered is lost and I can’t enter my child because I would lose all previous data and no longer be synced with my husband. I realize this app is free but we are hatch customers and this is a MESS. I’m very frustrated and worried about losing our data which we need for our pediatrician’s visit tomorrow to make sure baby is progressing. Extremely disappointing.
Good app, but crashes and requires reinstall. Overall, good functionality. However the app seems to be on a cadence of every 2-3 months where an iOS update is released causing the app to crash on opening. Despite force closing the app, the only fix I have found is a full delete, re download, etc. This wouldnt be too big of a deal, but my wife and I share an account to track our child. I never remember the password and since I need my wife’s email to reset frustration sets in. Good app, but please fix the recurring crashes
Overall love this app. Really pleased with this app! My husband, mom, and I all use it to track baby. The biggest thing I would change is on the sleep timer. I like to know how many hours per 24 hrs baby sleeps, but also how many hours at night consecutively. My complaint is that the timer does not know to start counting hours for a new day at 12am. If she goes to sleep at 8pm and sleeps through until 4am, it will add all those hours to the day before. It will not count the hours after 12am for the new day. I have to go in and split up this sleep chunk in the app which is kind of annoying
Our baby command center. My husband and I started using this app because we purchased the hatch changing pad. The combination of having this app and the ability to weigh our baby and not only track wait but measure feedings is incredible. I would recommend this app to anyone looking for a place to capture all your necessary day-to-day feeding/diaper/sleeping data. One other fun thing we love about the app is the ability to put a picture of our baby in the app every day and then we can see a slideshow overtime (so when you’re feeling nostalgic and want to go back to day 1 and see how your baby has grown, you can easily do it here).
I like it but wish for more. I like this app. It does exactly what you need it to do, it gives tips, and let’s you add photos. Though, I wish it did more. Other tracking apps have ways to see data in different forms (ie. baby has fed on the left a total of X minutes today and right a total of X minutes today) and offer ways to help baby’s sleep schedule. I’d also like a usable “cancel” button on the sleep feature (right now the button is available before you start the sleep but not while timing it - that makes no practical sense). Same with feedings. It would be nice to be able to cancel those timers without submitting then deleting them. Otherwise this app is great and use it constantly. Would recommend if you want basic functions when tracking baby’s things.
Everyday User. Really love the functionality of the app helps me keep track of everything going on when I forget the last time I’ve fed my baby or changed him. Some changes I would really love to see for improvement is being able to update time manually rather than having to scroll through the numbers to input time. Another issue I’ve had is every now and then the last time fed won’t update to tell me right away when the last time I’ve fed the baby instead I’ll have to go and look at the last fed meal instead of the hourly update it gives you without having to look at the last meal. These issues are not horrible but would love to see these fixes.
App does what I need it to. Update: hatch customer service has been amazing in helping me resolve this issue. However, we were not able to fully resolve the problem so I had to register the device with a different email address to circumvent whatever the issue was which is why I’m giving it a four star review instead of five. The scale is awesome I highly recommend it! There must be a bug...I got the $130 hatch changing table/scale but I can’t even open the app to see the data. If it doesn’t work this week I’ll be returning the scale. Otherwise it’s just a very expensive changing pad :( very frustrating experience!!!
Almost perfect!. I have the Hatch rest and wanted an easy to use app to track feedings and diapers. I use another app to log pumping. I think this app would be 100% my fav if it could include a pumping log and the option to put breast milk and formula bottles together in one entry. I use mostly formula but I also pump some milk and often mix half formula and half breast milk but you have to make two separate entries if you want to keep track of how much of each baby is getting which messes up the total feed number. I love being able to keep track of all these things especially because my son has weight gain issues and I know I’m not the only mom who uses formula + breast milk!
Excellent overall. Normally, I love this app, but lately every time I open it it closes out?? Like is it a me thing? I have closed out all my other apps and restarted my phone. It’s annoying. 2 stars until you fix it. Also when I try to delete a record it doesn’t always delete. Also annoying. Wish there was a way to easily delete or cancel a feed since sometimes I accidentally click the button. Now that I’ve got my grievances out. Here’s why I love it: useful, helpful, easy, picture feature is fun, the bar at the bottom that shows the day by day data is cool. Overall I really like, and I use it with my Hatch scale which I loooooove and highly recommend to data nerd mamas.
Recent Bugs - Can’t Use/Access Account. I have been using this app for 3 months and in the last week it has had so many errors that I can no longer access the app. When I open the app it says I have no babies to log info. I created a fake name just to bypass the screen, was able to access the app and switch to my actual child’s data, but the next day it happened again and now I can’t even get passed the “add a child” page. When I was able to access it, there were bugs with the timers and it saving my data accurately. Paused feeds would disappear, so I would log manually, then 12 hours later I would get an error alert that my feed had exceeded the limit of 12 hours. It also saved many feeds double so I’d have to manually delete one of them. Please fix this bug ASAP before I switch to another app completely and lose my 3 months of logged data!

Great but loaded with bugs. Please fix the bugs. Been using the app for a yea and you still can’t delete a feed or a nap (made in error let’s say) without the app crashing. And with the new update it’s been worse than ever. So buggy!
Privacy concerns. This app will read and paste from your clipboard. What are you doing that for Hatch?
Prevent auto lock. Please make the app prevent device auto lock when recording/timing a feed. Who has their hands free at that time to unlock the phone?
Watch App. Love this app, any chance we could get a Apple Watch app for it?
Love the app and scale. As a nervous new mom whose baby was having a hard time gaining weight at first, having access to this app and scale have been priceless. I weigh my baby once a day and it is so reassuring to see his weight climbing a bit day by day. The scale seems to be pretty accurate compared to his paediatrician and GP scales. I also track feedings and diapers. We’ve had a little trouble with breast-feeding and it is so helpful for me to be able to monitor when he last fed and for how long. I’m also extremely forgetful right now so being able to check in on what time he last fed helps me keep us on a bit of a schedule – – not important for most newborns since they will cue hunger but mine has to eat every 3 to 4 hours to keep his weight up. I find the app easy to use and I think the scale/changing pad are a great bargain compared to other foam wipeable changing pads on the market.
Wonderful, wonderful app for our baby!. Can’t say enough great things about the Hatch baby app. Easy to use, voice command for Alexa, and has all the features you need to track your baby’s feeding, sleep, diaper and weight. Can’t imagine what it would be like without this app to help us with our baby!!!
Crashes with the latest iOS update. After updating to the latest iOS this app now crashes on start and I can’t log any information anymore. Hopefully a fix will be put out soon.
Excellent along with Smart Changing Pad. We use the app along with the smart changing pad and love it. It allows us to track baby’s growth, feedings, diapers, sleep, etc seamlessly across multiple devices. Love using the Amazon Alexa feature too! Would love to see an Apple Watch complication in the future.
Surprised us in a great way!. Got the weight change table for fun and when we had our first, we were very surprised at how useful the journal system and stats were. When your low on sleep as a parent you won’t remember when your last feeding was, the number of diaper changes or type of stool. This information helps in the first few weeks and we’ve used it for every health care worker and doctor we’ve seen from birth into the first few weeks.
Great App! A Few Suggestions:. Great app. Considers every small detail. However, it would be extremely helpful for parents that have older children, like toddlers to add a category for mum mum to the feeding section. This would definitely benefit some parents who are still tracking their toddler’s feedings. Perhaps this feature could be added to the next update? That would be wonderful! Thanks so much!
Very good app but. It has a lot of good features and it works very well with the scale but it would be nice if we could also enter the temperature of the baby ? Maybe hatch is working on it?
Super practical. You have a timer for everything. Super user friendly. If this company could develop a timer for other things such as exercices, pretty it’s going to be great too.
Gives you confidence. This app has been so useful in giving me confidence about baby’s essential needs and establishing a routine early. It takes the guess work out of your day trying to remember when baby woke or what side you last fed on. Love the graphs and charts you can pull up too and adding the picture each day.
Love it but needs a watch app!. Love the scale and all of the recording abilities! Just wish it had a watch app like many of the other baby apps to start/stop feeding or sleep on my watch!
Pleas fix the bugs. Since the new update the app crashes every time I try to open it as well you can’t delete any information. (ie if I start a sleep timer or hit feeding timer in error there’s no way to delete the information as the delete buttons don’t work)
Great but could we get iPad compatible version please. Works great but on my iPad the app opens so small compared to the screen size.
No way to add additional users?. The app doesn’t seem to have the option to add other users, which is a huge oversight. Without the option to consolidate and combine input from both partners, the information is inaccurate.
The best App for baby tracking. Love this App. Not only is the changing pad amazing and tracks my baby’s weight, but I’ve been using this app for 8 months now to track her feedings, diaper changes, and sleep!
Desperately needs a dark mode. Great app overall but logging a dirty diaper in the wee hours is blinding with the silly white background.
Great App. I like using this app to track my baby’s sleep, feeding, diapers, weight and length. I started using it around 3 months old to see if he starts to develop a routine and how much he feeds and diapers he has as I loose track. Would be even better if the timer of the sleep/feed would change colour from blue to red (for instance) so that it’s easy to see that it is going when you are semi-asleep or baby is fussy.
Awesome!!. Best app of its kind! User friendly and you have the option to add so much information!

Why are you accessing my clipboard?. Generally a fan of the app and the scale (the scale should be WiFi instead of Bluetooth since my hands are full with the baby vs fishing for my phone, but hopefully v2!), and the Alexa integration is actually pretty decent (and helpful). But with ios14 every time I use the app I find out it’s reading my clipboard for no apparent reason. Sketchy, folks, very sketchy. Can you ditch that and go back to improving an already pretty good product? Update a few months later: Hatch replied and said they’d fix it. Still happens every time I open the app. Super sketchy — why are you looking at my clipboard? Get rid of whatever ad-driven SDK you’re using!
Great for Tracking!. My husband and I have used this app daily since our daughter was born to track diapers, feedings and sleep. It really helped us to discover her schedule and ensure she was getting enough to eat. With that being said, now that she’s almost three month, we use it mainly as her sleep has changed and her feedings are getting more predictable. I would have given it 5 stars but it’s missing other important needs for a growing baby, like tracking tummy time, solid foods, medications etc. These would be really helpful additions.
Our newborn’s “true north”. The Hatch app has been our true north amid the crazy-beautiful, rainbow-making storm that is newborn parenthood! My husband and I use it to track feedings and diaper changes, and I love it that we both can view the data and add to it as we go. We use it in tandem with Hatch Grow. I love to be able to recite back number of feedings, etc. to our pediatrician with such precision, and tracking baby’s weight at home has really given us peace of mind that our baby is eating enough. Great product and app!
Mostly love it but…. This app is wonderful for keeping track of all the important things for a baby. It’s easy to use, easy to understand, and the interface is overall really nice. My two big complaints are: it’s way too bright when using it at night and there is no Apple Watch app to go with it. I would love this app even more if there was a dark mode available & if I was able to quickly add a feeding session from my wrist rather than hunting down my phone.
App keeps crashing when I try to connect with Hatch Baby Grow. Updated: Contacted Hatch Baby and they sent us a new Hatch Baby Grow! App works now with no issues! Excellent customer service! App keeps crashing when trying to connect to Hatch Baby Grow we just received from our registry. I’ve turned my Bluetooth off and on, restarted the app many times, deleted and redownloaded the app, and even power cycled my phone multiple times. The app keeps crashing.
Love the app, but bugs with timer. I used this app for my first two kids and loved everything about it. Just had another baby one month ago and am finding that the timers don’t continue counting on the screen when you press start. For example, I will press “start” under the nap timer, and it just says 0:00. When I hit end, then it will show me how long the nap was. Having the same issue with the feeding and pumping timers, unfortunately. Hoping the developers can fix this bug soon!
Love-Hate. Mostly love this app BUT have had major issues with it crashing. In fact, I'm currently unable to open the app at all without it immediately crashing. This is the second time this more significant crashing issue has happened in the 6 weeks since I started using the app. Also experiencing an issue where my husband can't see the pumping record (although he was able to see it the first few days). Finally, the app also often crashes when deleting records, which others have mentioned. If not for these things, I would give this app 5 stars.
Great product, would like a weight adjustment feature. We have a Hatch Baby scale and primarily use the app to track weigh-ins. We use Sprout Plus to track all the other things since it has more ways to track details. The one feature I would like to see in the weigh-in part of the app is to have a way to specify clothing weight. We rarely weigh our baby nude and so have to adjust the numbers afterwards. So if we could specify the weight of the clothes and diaper first and then weigh, the app could subtract the extra weight automatically. Ideally it would remember the clothing weight for the next weigh-in and in each weight entry, show what the clothing weight was. I do know I could zero out the scale first with the clothes and a diaper but it's ackward. Thanks!
Needs Dark Mode!. Love this app second time around! However I’m experiencing so much eye strain during middle of the night feeds. It’s very hard to see “Last Side” in tiny print with low contrast, bright colors. I need to quickly feed the baby to soothe + get back to sleep sooner. Every second matters but even more, so does vision! Seems like an easy feature. Would be amazing to see this before I’m done using the app again.
Doesn’t do well w diff time zones. This app is great to keep track of baby things but I don’t feels like the forgotten child of the hatch products. The format to enter. The nursing format vs the way to enter bottles could be different, the way to enter numbers could be with a number pad instead of a sliding drop down, and it doesn’t do very well with time changes. Another suggestion would be to add checkboxes for vitamin D drops, or grape water/gas medicine.
Breastfeeding Power Up!. This scale and app are an amazing support resource for breastfeeding moms! I have been getting a lot of conflicting advice about how much and when to feed my baby from various caregivers, and to be able to easily track everything in one app AND know how much she's actually drinking from me is a complete game changer. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I wish I had this from Day 1, hands down!
Syncing issues. When my husband and I first started using the app, it worked great! We would use it to communicate between each other and even used it at our baby’s check up with the pediatrician to show her his information. Then it occasionally started to stop syncing with night feedings. It was something we could mess around with and fix (someone force closing the app then refreshing). Now, the syncing for the night/early morning feedings is nonexistent and it’s a pain to try to get it to actually sync up without just deleting the data and manually entering it. It has become such a disappointment and we’ve only been using it for 7 weeks.
This app is great for tracking baby development. We have the hatch scale and when we downloaded the app we noticed that it also could track everything else we needed to track. We’ve been using it for 5 weeks now and it’s a great app. I really appreciate that it allows you to invite other caregivers to add data so you don’t have to share one login across multiple people. I love that my wife can see how much he has had to feed or when the last diaper change was after I take the overnight shift. I have one recommendation for the developer: - Make it so you can set a default for feeding. It’s annoying to have to always change it to “bottle” and “formula” since we can’t breastfeed (due to medical issues).
Torn on rating. The scale has been vital for us early on, our baby lost some weight post birth and it helped ensure us that he was adequately putting on weight each day. It also is helpful to track how much he eats if I feel like my supply is lacking. However the user experience is truly lacking, and this is a review of the app not the scale. As a product designer and user I become frustrated by the number of steps it takes to complete certain actions. You can only access the grow scale from the dashboard and not the weight page as well. For weighing feedings I have accidentally hit cancel at least 3-4 times in attempts to get back to the dashboard which lost my initial weight and therefore the feeding because as a mother I can’t always remember what the weight was before I started, therefore I don’t know how much my baby ate which makes it difficult to track intake if I feel like my supply is low. I have also accidentally hit the end feeding/sleep because there’s no visual difference between those actions vs switch sides or pause/resume. Plus I’m usually doing most of this one handed as I’m typically holding or have one hand on the baby. When this happens I then have to either watch the clock to edit after I’m done or start a new entry because there’s no way to resume a completed feeding or sleep. It also bothers me that when you click to add something from the dashboard it opens in a full page take over instead of a going to that specific page. I think the graphs, which are difficult to find all of them in the first place, could use some improvements. To see the average amount per feeding you have to get to the stats page which is difficult to find, as it’s not listed as one of the options on the feedings page. It would also be helpful to see not just how much time the baby is sleeping each day but seeing the longest stretch of sleep overtime to quickly see if baby is steadily increasing amount of nighttime sleep. There’s many other things I could comment, but overall if it is wasn’t for the fact that I use this app in conjunction with the hatch scale, then I would definitely be using another app to track feedings, sleep, diapers and pumping.
“HATCH PASTED FROM GMAIL”. Excuse me, but why is Hatch pasting from my clipboard without being asked? This is NOT ok!! Update: The devs promise not to use this information, but of course this shouldn’t be happening in the first place. There also other issues: 1. App interface is convoluted. Compare this to Baby Tracker Pro! For those who just want to use the scale, there is way too much noise. 2. The scale disconnects if the phone screen locks. I zero it out, take some time to get baby ready and comfy on the scale, unlock my phone again and the scale needs to reconnect and the previous zero weight is lost! Now I have to get baby off the scale and start all over again. What a pain. Update2: Dropping another star after more usage. This app is just a bad bad interface to this scale. After one weight saved, it automatically kicks you back out to the main page. And if you go back to the scale guess what! You have to zero it out again! I really regret buying this “smart” scale.
Firmware update causing issues. Downloaded the Hatch Grow App to use the Hatch Grow changing table for the smart scale component. I can’t even use it because this new firmware update is closing out the app each time before it can even begin. If I select to not update it, it is telling me to contact support because a critical problem was found. Would love to see this firmware update glitch fixed asap because otherwise it is not worth the money spent, which is extremely disappointing. General Hatch Apps feedback: please consolidate your apps into one. It’s a bit silly there are separate Hatch apps.
What else do you need?. First time mom and this app is the best! I don’t see what else you could possible need from a tracking system. When you are exhausted and can’t remember if they’ve been asleep three hours or thirty minutes this comes in handy. I’m breast feeding and this helps me make sure I don’t over feed on one breast and neglect the other. Would recommend to any new parents.
Great App! One Small Improvement Needed. My husband and I LOVE this app and use it constantly to keep track of our baby’s feedings, diaper changes and sleep. One small flaw is that if you start a sleep session at 11:50pm, it will count all of the sleep for that original day and not the next which makes it misleading when you look at a summary. It would be great if the app allocated the sleep properly between days.
First time parent, lifesaver. My wife and I are both able to track things on each of our phones like diaper changes (wet and dirty) with two or three clicks. She logs her breastfeeding with ease. Legit, this app is so helpful and has made this first week a little bit easier! Don’t usually leave app reviews but y’all need to try it.
Been using it for months!. I downloaded this app shortly after my daughter was born to keep track of nursing and diapers. I’ve been using it for months! I think it is super good! I wish it would total how many diaper and such. I also wish they had a section to add for food other than milk eaten, as well as when medicine is administered. This would make the app top tier.
Needs developer support. This is a great app with amazing potential, but is unfortunately plagued by simple bugs that cause the app to crash when deleting entries. Some features that would help is the ability to share and manage the same timers between partners who are viewing the same child. The last software update was years ago… sad to see such a good app abandoned when they still sell the physical hardware, the hatch scale changing table.
Love it.. maybe a few changes?. I’ve been using this app since baby and I came home. He’s now 7 months old and it definitely helps me see changes in his schedule as soon as they happen. Suggestions: a food selection.. we’ve transitioning from breastfeeding/bottle feeding exclusively to adding food into his mix. It would be great to be able to add foods to his schedule. ALSO... a reminder/notification if the timer has been going on for longer than a few hours just in case parents forget to turn off the timer!
Everything we need!. This app has been our source of truth for everything! Love that it connects between my partner’s phone and mine. It even kept counting my nursing session when my phone died! I’d like if the day by day visual was a little less cluttered but this app is very well built and makes so much sense for us.
So helpful!. Our newborn son is 5 days old today. This tracker has really made my husband and I intentional about monitoring how our baby is doing with sleep and feeding in particular. I also love that this app is free. It’s easy to use and navigate. I’m sure there are little things here and there that can improve, and future app updates will address them.
Needs dark mode!!. It’s a huge miss that this app doesn’t offer dark mode. Much of the time I’m using this app, it’s during night time feedings and changings while trying to keep my baby sleepy. It’s frustrating to open a bright white app throughout the night and try to shield my baby from the glow. Also, the button for the scale is teeny tiny in the top right corner, a spot difficult to reach unless you’re holding your phone with 2 hands. 100% of the time I’m using the scale, one of my arms is occupied holding a wiggly baby. This button should be easier to click one-handed.
Great App love the Trend Charts. I love the trend charts just wish they were simpler to read. It would also be nice to have the app ask the user feeding type formula, breast milk, supplementing (both) and have it hide all pumping options or sleep options if you don’t desire to use the app to track sleep or pump and just formula feeding and diaper change. This would make the UI less clutter for the people that use this to track certain specific things only. Otherwise is great. I also like the daily pic feature just wish the pic was not hidden behind navbar instead size it underneath it..
Helpful & easy to use. Super easy to use, and I love the Alexa integration. Not sure why some people don’t like the Alexa skill- I find it super intuitive. As a first time parent, I found Hatch very helpful at keeping track of stats (for some reason my brain wasn’t functioning at 100%, go figure) and having information at the ready for doctors appointments.
Great product made even better by this great app!!!. Our second child was born four weeks early due to placenta previa. Fortunately, no major problems (thanks to our awesome medical staff!) except for being on the small side. Only prescription was to feed him to help him grow more outside than was possible in the womb. While in the NICU, our baby was constantly being monitored, logged for sleep and feedings, and weighed for growth. After a little more than a week, we were thankfully released to come home with our baby! While being in the hospital was uncomfortable and a horrible feeling leaving our baby at night, we knew that our child was getting the best possible care with all the medical and technological advancements. However, leaving the hospital we knew we would not be able to have all those same benefits or piece of mind. We immediately knew we wanted to get a scale to track our preemie’s growth. That’s where the Hatch comes in!!! The primary reason of buying this Hatch was to be able to keep a log of the growth of our child in the app. If that’s all it did, it would have been fully worth the price in my opinion. After buying it and starting to use it, the app does SO MUCH MORE! Not only does it accurately weigh our baby, log the weight, then graph the progress and tell us the percentile (just like regular doctor visits), but you can log all the feedings, sleeping, length, pumping, diaper changes, and more with incredible detail! You can also create a photo history of your child to see how much they change over time (we don’t use, but cool feature). And add a care giver (nanny/baby sitter) setting to monitor/log data when you’re not home. This app helped us get back the piece of mind we lost after leaving the NICU. That being said, the app and scale are only useful if WE (the parents) use it correctly and on a regular basis. Is this “scale” expensive, yes if it were only a scale. But as I detailed, it’s so much than just a scale and worth every penny! BTW, I never write reviews and usually have my wife write them. However, this product/app has impressed me so much, I felt obligated to share with all parents and especially those who might have been in a similar situation as us.
Old font back please. I’ve really enjoyed the app but the new font is worse and too small and thin, making it hard to read. Can it be made adjustable or go back to original font? I’m also unable to swipe delete in this version like the previous version, please bring back as well. For new features, adding dark mode would be awesome. Thank you!
App hasn’t had an update in over 2 years. This app is so glitchy and the developers haven’t put out an update in 2+ years. Hatch is just a sleep company now, they don’t seem to care about the baby tracking/grow features anymore which is really a shame. We will probably still use it to track our baby’s weight with the scale changing pad (when the app actually works, that is), but will be looking at alternatives for all other tracking (feeding, naps, diapers) needs. I don’t recommend this app or their products.
Sleep timings/recordings totals could be better. What would be helpful is if sleep recordings that cross between days (i.e. 11pm -5am) would split when it shows up in the schedule (i.e. 1hr on one day and 5hrs on the next). This is because the totals for each day then get skewed. It shows up as 6hrs on day one. My little one is 2months old so I’m trying to make sure she gets 14-17hrs of sleep but the way this tracks makes it challenging. Also won’t delete entries without crashing
Could be better. A few minor changes would make this app so much more useful. Solid food tracking & medicine/health tracking. I would love to be able to log that I gave my baby her vitamin d supplement so I can make sure I don’t forget or have a spot to mark down if she had a fever, if I gave acetaminophen and at what time. Also for food it would be so much easier to trend if she didn’t like something or had a reaction if there was a solids section. Also the scale could use a “lock in” reading feature to help with getting a weight for wiggly babies.
Total peace of mind!. I am 5 weeks into breastfeeding and I have been a worried mess the whole time until now! Counting diapers wasn’t cutting it for me and I just wanted to know how much my baby boy was getting at each feed because he stays on for less than the suggested “good feed” time. This app has reassured me that me baby is on pace with weight gain and he is getting his recommended ounces/day! So thankful this pad exists and it is well worth the money for a first time breastfeeding mama!
Decent for tracking, mediocre to poor performance. This app has been helpful for my wife and I to track our baby’s feeding, diapers, and sleep. But it’s inconsistent with whether it will work. Sometimes it doesn’t sync from one of our phones, and it crashes probably 50-75% of the time upon opening the app. I’ve had to reinstall the app because it immediately crashed and wouldn’t open no matter what I did. It’s stuck in a crash loop again and I’m probably going to have to reinstall it again.
Dark Mode please. The Hatch app is great. It’s brought us a lot of peace of mind and kept my baby breastfed for much longer than he would have been otherwise. For that alone I give it 5 stars. However the app can be really bright in the middle of the night when I’d rather keep light sources to a minimum—even with my phone brightness turned all the way down. I’d love a dark version of the app. Moving the scale button down to the bottom of the app so that it can be accessed with one hand would be helpful as well.
Lovely app, needs nightmode!. I love this app! It was extremely helpful at my first week doctors appointment when they need to know how many diapers your newborn has a day. We keep up with weight and continue to use the stopwatch for nursing. My one issue is the app background is white. I use the app when feeding my baby in the middle of the night and the white background is very bright. It would be great if there was a toggle to change the app color at night.
no more watching the clock for feedings!!. First time mom of only 2 weeks and this is a lifesaver! I’ve been so exhausted and loose track of time and what day it is! This has helped me keep everything straight and I don’t have to rely on my memory! Everything is so easy to use and really straightforward!
Incorrect tracking. A lot of times I will edit my sleep timer and I know it saves it correctly, but when I go back later the Incorrect time is there…. It’s starting to happen every single day. Really annoying when I go back and look at something from a few days ago and it shows a 4 hour nap that I know never occurred. Extremely frustrating when it happens over and over and over. I really liked this app in the beginning, but now that the app keeps altering the times I manually enter, I need to look for a different one. I don’t like writing negative reviews but it’s not reliable anymore.
Great, Easy App! Recommend Adding Tube-Fed Options. I rarely review apps, but this has been so helpful. I love the ease of use and tracking. I don’t know what I’d do w/out it! I agree w/another reviewer that it would be helpful to also track medications, sick, etc. additionally, would be great to add a feeding type for tube-fed babies. It’s extremely common and I would’ve definitely used it for my first child. There are so many tube-fed babies, especially preemies, and it’s important to track those amounts, times and if the feeding was tolerated
Best baby tracking app!. I use it to track nursing, pumping, weight, and diapers. I also love that it encourages you to take a picture every day, which gives you a neat way to visually track your baby’s growth and how much they change each day. It’s super user friendly and so easy to figure out. You can customize what stats you want to prioritize. And, it’s free!!!
Stats need improvement. I wish I could customize the statistical chart (viewing schedules using hrs & not minutes). The summary of daily schedule is also very annoying to work with. It would be nice to have the option to view the summary so the dates are at the top (columns) and times are on the side (rows). A larger timeline option would be great. The timer on the feedings tab also has super small buttons (left & right breast, pause, etc.) making it difficult to press the right button while nursing a baby and trying to figure out the app. This could quickly be solved by making the font of previous feedings smaller. The only thing I like about this is that it was a clean and modern look and generally easy to use. However it’s not enough so I may continue looking for a different app.
Very disappointed in this app.. I’ve had this app since my baby was born almost 9 months ago. I’ve used it everyday to track his weight, feedings, my pumpings, photos and his length checks. Today I got a new phone and had to re-log into the account so when I did EVERYTHING from the past 9 months is completely gone. I’m extremely upset by this. All my baby’s records are now gone.
Great tracking would love to see further developments. I love all of the preset options for each of the tracking sections. It really simplifies the process on the phone and you are still able to collect quite a bit of data. What I would really like to see is an Apple Watch companion app. It would make it so much easier, especially when it comes to feeding: if I could start a timer on my watch that way I don’t necessarily have to keep track of my phone at all times.
App Crashes on load. I would have given this 5 stars but every couple of days the app crashes on loading the app and I have to delete and reinstall it to temporarily fix the issue. I’ve tried restarting my phone. My wife and I use the same account to keep everything synced and I think that’s where the issue lies. This doesn’t happen on my wife’s phone so I think sometimes when she adds data and I have the app open in the background on my phone it creates bad data causing it to crash.
