Amazing airline and cool app. Qantas is literally the best airline in the world. I'm 50% American and 50% Australian and I just love going on this airline!! I love to have an app that gives you the entertainment qantas does. I'm happy to have entertainment from my favorite airline!! Wait to go qantas!!

App not working. On board qantas flight. Latest version not working on iOS 13. Failing to link with location services despite permission settings being active. Please download alternative entertainment on your device if you use an Apple product as you will be stuck with nothing.

This app is amazing!. Great entertainment selection for long trips!

Tv. It will be better if you had a tv in the plane. My battery died and there was no charger.

Wow. Finally a way to enjoy first rate entertainment from my iPad on those lengthy Australian fights. Kudos to Qantas and all of those involved in the development!

Useless. Scan the QR code to a movie or show you want to watch on the airplane. This opens the browser, then opens the AppStore so you can download the Entertainment App. Okay, all done. So scan the QR code again. This opens the browser, then opens the AppStore and takes you to the Entertainment App you just downloaded. You hit open, which opens the entertainment app but does not take you to the show you want to watch. The app also has no search function. So long story short. It’s useless.

New update does not work. New update to this app doesn't work. After making sure I had the most update version of this app two days before departure. Couldn't watch anything on my flight. After selecting a movie and having to sit through the adds, the app kept crashing and trying to load the movie. After several attempts of trying to reload, I had to watch the adds over and over again. After asking the air hostess they had no idea and said everyone else's apps on the plane are working. Same thing happened on my daughters app too. Seems you need a new device with the latest iOS update as well, which discriminates against people who have older devices. Poor form Qantas. I had a very boring flight. Bring back the screens in the back of the passengers seats so we don't all have to stuff around with apps that don't work.

Doesn’t work on Iphone. Total disaster and wastage of time. App keeps asking to add a flight and redirects you to Qantas app where you don’t really find an option to add the flight. Reinstalled the app to find the same issue over and over again as others have pointed out. Save yourself from hassle, read this review and don’t waste your time anymore. Better to connect to wifi and watch netflix

Easy to use. The Qantas Entertainment app is easy to use compared to some other major airlines. I like the fact that you don’t have to enter your member number every time you access the app. A couple of taps and you’re in.

Works Great. All you have to do is have an iOS that can handle the app (mine is iOS 10.3.3) and be patient for 2 minutes of ads until your chosen movie will start. This worked for me, my son and daughter. :)

Needs more development and back end stability with the media server. I love Qantas, they are truly a great airline. However I have found the app to be a pain in the proverbial. It appears it often drops the connection to the media server. It’s as though the WiFi or the media server are regularly overloaded. The server probably requires more packet receive buffers, RAM and processing power. But the end user experience is very frustrating and it makes the service appear very substandard. Please do some user acceptance testing at full aircraft capacity as soon as you can, as end users must find this process and the ‘klunkiness’ of the connectivity and media playback parts of the app, to be quite painful, I know I do.

Best app ever!. When we where on the flight my kids were on the app the whole trip and I didn’t hear a complaint from them the whole trip. The only problem was that the kids wouldn’t get off at the end of the flight

Disfunctional. Agreed with the last reviewer, can’t access any entertainment from my phone. Keeps looping through to connect to wifi, and then can’t play any movies. I have the option of in-seat headrest but it’s outdated and slow, can’t connect my own wireless earbuds, and can’t hear anything on the proprietary headphones. Should have invested more into this instead of a qantas lounge.

Not entertained 👎. Disappointed that Qantas had removed the inflight entertainment. Was informed that Qantas had an app, ok I will try that on my next flight. Unfortunately all I saw were the ads but no movie. Informed staff on board but still no show. This is poor form by Qantas. No one on the flight could access the movies. Fix the problem it appears to be a massive issue for lots of people judging by the reviews.

Unusable Entertainment App. Trying to watch a movie on a flight and every 1-3 minutes the video freezes and you have to restart the app to try and attempt to watch it again for another 1-3 minutes. I get some planes might have worse Wi-Fi than others but most video players use buffering to combat that . . . This one just freezes and requires you to restart the app.

Very disappointing! 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️. App loads nicely, shows the remaining flight time, and can play sky news. . . However, the app doesn’t work when it comes to its vast video/tv library. After sitting through up to 2 minutes of advertisements - that display perfectly fine - the content doesn’t load! It just defaults to a black screen. I tried for 20 mins on a 60 min flight before giving up. This didnt used to be a problem! Please fix ASAP, or give us screens back, as this is the second work trip where I will have to lug around my iPad for no reason other than to be a constant reminder that your app doesn’t work

No movies. Can get WiFi but no entertainment. When movies are selected it directs me to get the app. I have the app! Restarted phone, deleted & reinstalled the app but no movies still. Would like to finish a movie I started but can’t. Has been good until this trip.

Horrible. Tried for about an hour on my flight to get the entertainment app working. I went through the website downloaded the app and every time i opened the app it wouldn’t load anything and said there were no flights found. Apparently i had to download the actual Qantas app and input a trip there, but you needed a booking reference for that. Very disappointed with the whole network and app in general. Waste of my time.

Up to Qantas' usual standard. App doesn't work at all. Flight attendant could not fix it either. Have tried reloading and so on to no avail. But then again, Qantas in general is hardly working; flights delayed, check in hopeless, lounge closed so cannot be used during long (Qantas imposed) transits. Imagine what they could do if they made a massive profit? Oh wait, they just announced that!!

Does not work on iPad. Running the app on an iPad mini iOS 9.3.5 - can see the main menu and select any movie, tv show etc. but have the same issue as many here where the actual content does not play after many minutes of ads. I will note that the app did work on my iPhone X running the latest iOS, but it's very disappointing that it didn't work on the larger screen as advertised in the app specs. Please rectify ASAP!

Buggy with latest iPadOS.. Has worked flawlessly on previous flights. Two recent flights after the latest iPadOS update: took about 20 mins to connect on first occasion with various error messages - not connected to wifi (yes I was), not using latest version (yes I was), etc. before connecting and on second flight I just gave up after receiving various error messages and even turning the machine off and on a few times. Can it really be that hard to keep up to date with software updates?

Useless on older iPads. Does not work on older iPads, regardless of wether that device is using the latest iOS or not. It used to work on my device, but since updating the app some months ago, it now does not. All ads work, and the application opens up fine, but the content will not load. Very poor from a company that prides itself on customer service.

Poor app. Was useless for my flight from Gold Coast to Sydney would say movie will start in 2 minutes once a movie was selected and after 2 minutes of ads it would just be a blank screen and then would repeat the process over and over again when trying to get it to work. And the same problem trying to watch tv shows. I have the latest version of the app downloaded.

Doesn’t work - endless loop back to wifi screen. Each time I open the app it takes me to the connect to Wi-Fi screen even though I’m connected. Looks like previous reviews 3+ years ago say the same thing and they still haven’t fixed the issue. Apple headphones / wireless don’t work and they don’t hand out headphones to use the seat screen.

Garbage. Full of bugs on iOS. App usually says I don’t have a trip logged even though I’m always checked in via the Qantas app - clicking through from one app to the other has absolutely no effect. Wifi access via browser is a circular process that leads back to the instructions - you never get anywhere. I’m a Gold FF, fly at lease one week in two, carry multiple devices, and have only ever had success with this app once. Extremely aggravating. Utter garbage.

Awesome!. I love how it has a family,Disney title/row and more! It shows you the genre and the Director, rating and other info about the movie. It will give you movies/shows big & small, adult & kid. Finally I think this is great app for your plane flight/travel, it keeps you entertained and happy.

Easy to Use & Great for watching Ads, but not for Movies!. Same issue as many others here. Downloaded the latest version 24 hours ago but it would not play any movie or TV show during flight no matter what I chose. Would play the adverts no problem! Not sure if this issue is restricted to Apple device users only or not. I am using an older iPad Mini 2 using iOS 9.3.5 (later iOS versions not compatible with this iPad Mini). However, App worked flawlessly on my iPhone 8+ with iOS 12.3...it seems that perhaps the Qantas Entertainment App is not compatible with older iOS. No good enough Qantas - shoddy workmanship.

Rubbish App. After waiting 30 mins into the flight to have WiFi found that the app is complete rubbish. App is loaded in my phone, but keeps taking me to a Qantas website that endlessly keeps requesting me to load the app each time i select something to watch. After the 10th loop of this frustrating request....gave up. Bring back the in seat screens!! If you are going to offer service make sure it at least works better than the one you have taken away!!

Poor user experience. If you pause the app and go to the washroom it forgets where you are in the movie , then it repeats the adds . It also does not update the location in the movie on the progress screen . So when you do come back and sit through the adds you have to guess where to resume to Also displays the ads for everything so watch adds watch the show , the. Swap and watch the adds again

Disappointed. Now that QANTAS has wifi accessible on their aircraft we should be able to watch our own programmes and movies via Netflix, Foxtel etc. No point taking your own device on the plane if you can’t access movies on it. At the very least we should be able to watch the inflight programmes on our own tablets!

Rubbish. Redownloaded app before my flight as I hadn’t flown QANTAS for a while but, after sitting through ads before the movie I selected, it came up with an error saying I didn’t have the current app version and wouldn’t play. Same error (despite playing the ads) occurred time after time. Checked it between flights and it is the current version and didn’t work on any of the four flights I took over the space of a week. The last update was over 10 months ago. It’s not so hard is it QANTAS? Glad I’ve got Netflix. #Joyced

IOS App>Safari>App Store>App loop. I have latest IOS on both iPhone and iPad and I was not able to use the entertainment app. I was able to post this review so, wifi ok. Although able to use the website, I was not able to watch anything as it kepnon referring to the app. When I opened the app it just gave me 2options "on my persona device" and "seatback screen". When you choose personal device it launches Safari, when you choose a movie it launches the app store, when you open the app you are back to the start. Sigh.......

Qantas entertainment is useless. I am on qf653 to Perth, in Business Class. The entertainment system does not work, but wait, they give you an iPad because they already know the main system is not working. But the iPad won’t connect either. And I am stuck on a loop trying to get this app to work. They should give you a discount if they take your money and then don’t provide part of the promised service. Oh, I just remembered, this is Qantas.

Horrendous. I have attempted to use this app. several times, and I am yet to actually be able to watch anything. Constant disconnections and then takes an eternity to reconnect. There appears to be lots of content, all of which is wasted because it’s impossible to watch. Do not rely on this for your entertainment - take your own. If it then by some miracle works, you’ll have a choice. If it doesn’t, you’ve still got something to watch. I am downloading some shows to watch as I write this - I have a Qantas flight in a couple of hours.

New Update Does Not Work. The new update doesn’t work. Constant Error messages. Unable to stream anything..... back to good old boring flights staring at the back of a seat.

Reminds me of early-2000s dial-up. The slow connection on board, or perhaps the slowness of the app itself, makes it excruciating to try to watch media on this app. You have to watch several ads before a movie starts, but the ads don't even load or play. I had to skip to the end of the ad and wait for the next one to begin about 7 times. The movie played for about 15 seconds before needing to load again, which takes a long time.

It’s ok. I’m overly happy with the app but I would like a search bar and halfway through my flight it just disabled the movie and I couldn’t get back in it would show full bars but it just didn’t work

Fantastic- no glitches!!. After reading the reviews I thought we would be stuck on a 5.5hr flight with nothing for my daughter & I to do, but I’m writing this review 3 hours into my flight after watching a movie from what seemed like an endless choice of movies (13 yo said it was just like Netflix) and I’ve been able to use my phone with wifi without any issues!! Well done Qantas- no complaints here.

Great. This app is makes it easy to find your tv shows and movies and it’s all free. It has great connection and it’s great for short and long flights. I definitely recommend this

Pure Crud. Had the same issue as what a lot of other people seem to have, installed the latest version, then sat through the same 4 adds over and over, but when it came to watching ANYTHING the wait wheel just a kept on spinning. I then swapped to my mobile phone and managed to get a motive working, but every time the crew made an announcement it would go back to playing the adds and restart the movie. I love paying several hundred dollars for a Qantas flight to sit there and try and watch something on a tiny screen, well done.....................NOT.

Poor app. Terrible app. You have to manually connect to the multiple wifi’s available (there were 2 on my flight). Some work better than others. However it continually crashes and if you click out to do anything at all else on your device, it takes you back through the compulsory 2-3mins of adverts and loading time. This is even when it recognises you are returning to the same film and allows you to select ‘continue watching.’ App crashed 2/3rds into flight So gave up. The Options are also very limited by contrast to virgin for example.

App keeps freezing. Every time I pause a show for the service cart and try and resume the vid it crashes and then I have to go though all the ads again and try and find where i was - good when it works but don’t pause ! It gets tedious - virgin is better at this but we pay more on Qantas

Terrible. Agree with most of what has been written and I am Qantas’ biggest fan normally (posting happy pics of the staff looking after me or me if I fly for business and kids and I for leisure).. we normally log on to Qantas entertainment and I love the notion of being on true wifi but it has meant all of our devices ( apart from one new one that has never been linked to Qantas previously) have not accessed any entertainment all flight. Booo

Ads play, movie doesn't. Same as everyone else. On the iPad all the ads before the movie play, but it just stays on buffering mode once it gets t o the actual movie. It's been like this for 2 months now. I fly weekly with Qantas.. Every now n then it'll work for one movie. But I've sat through at least an hour of ads in the last month in hopes it'll work this time

Does not work!. Why change things around without texting the new upgrade for public use. The new update keeps a saying download the app when I already have the app ! Then the chat option diverts me to Facebook?? I don’t have Facebook and I’m certainly not going to download Facebook over the Simpson Desert just to chat to a faulty system... it worked perfect before why change it ?

Does NOT meet inclusivity standards. Before using this app I was FORCED to connect headphones to my iPad, even though the audio was muted and I just wanted to watch using subtitles. For a hearing impaired person, this simply shows Qantas’ lack of consideration. And anyway, what’s the reason for not letting anyone who chooses (like someone who forgot to pack headphones with the right connection) to simply watch the movie silently? Big FAIL QANTAS.

Works fine, needs more subtitles. I had no problems using it on a flight that didn’t have individual screens, but only the movies had captions as far as I could work out (they were useful since the plane noise was so loud instead of turning up the headphones). I’m sure that Deaf people, the hard of hearing, and people who just prefer subtitles would like to see TV shows too.

Premium airline with economy IT. Qantas, I want to love you… I am loyal, fly your routes as much as I can and generally enjoy the service… …but your entertainment app is anything but entertaining. I travel a lot on the longer domestic routes upon which some level of Entertainment or connectivity is generally the norm. Your servers upon these longer flight - typically 737 aircraft - is simply out of the ‘80’s. Buffering and poor connectivity even on music. Don’t even try to stream video. Please, please for the love of Qantas fix this entertainment system failure. I’m happy to pay full service price for airfares if I get full service.

The adverts work but not the shows. It’s funny the adverts work on the app but the shows don’t play. Have tried 4 different programs on the flight and none work. Increasingly frustrated at the situation. Also the promise of the show starting in one minute is a lie there are 2-3 minutes of adverts. This app was great once... utterly disappointed.

Not working. This Qantas Entertainment App says it cannot find any trips in the Qantas App. I have 2 trips in there and I was onboard one of them when I tried. It says there is a later version of the Qantas App but I have the latest version. Have reinstalled both Apps and the Qantas Entertainment App still doesn’t work. It just loops around saying I don’t have any trips and there’s a later version of the Qantas App.

Doesn’t work. Just doesn’t work anymore. Shows you options which give details but no option to play. It hasn’t worked for the last 6 flights, probably since IOS upgrade as many have pointed out. You have absolutely zero entertainment options. Completely rubbish now, but used to work a couple of months back.

QF = Qantas Fail. Previously watched entertainment fine but today when you click on watch now, you are directed to App Store, where you open the app, then back to the start page, click on browser (only option) choose the show and then watch now, and repeat. One big circle and no show at the end. Maybe this is for Qantas’ entertainment, rather than ours!!!

So much for entertainment!. Worked fine on trip between Sydney and Brisbane do tagged a movie to watch half on the way and balance on the return journey. So... watched first half and now unable to open this or any other movie a day later. V disappointing. App needed to be updated so did this but still no joy. I noticed a similar comment made by another traveller. Please get a better app or fix the bugs and test test test before go live!!!

Nice app but why sometimes it refers to seat-back screen. No issue with the app but in some flights the entertainment is on the app and sometimes it refers us to the seat-back screen, quite inconsistent and annoying

Update does not work. After updating iPhone to new operating system the app does not work. It asks to turn location services on which it is but nothing in the app works. Have to open internet browser manually to connect to wifi which works but when you go back to the entertainment app it isn’t connected to view anything

Does Not Load!. Despite having a new iPad, this App does not load successfully routing you to the Qantas home page, an hour into my flight to BKK, I simply gave up. Why encourage your customers to load and use the App if it simply doesn’t work for a high percentage of travellers. In more ways than one Qantas has failed to deliver on the lofty promises made by Mr Joyce!
