Excellence. A great adaptation of a very fun board game. Plays identical to the physical version without having to set up. Multiplayer works great with a great matchmaking system. The tutorial is very well done and doubles as a quick and easy tool for teaching the physical version. The addition of the campaign is a nice touch. This is a must buy for any board game enthusiast and is a great gateway game being in this digital format

Would be better if it can actually run. Keeps quitting after I creat my character

So much fun!!. Galaxy Truckers has always been one of my very favorite games but no one likes to play it as much as I do and I build ships much faster than most of my friends. Now I can play it as much as I want and the computer gives me a run for my money building ships. Love this game and they did such a good job converting to this format!

Was originally meh. But this game is a total breath of fresh air! I love simultaneously competing for ship parts and flying against the extremely well implemented AI. The last mission took me ages to finish! Interface is very intuitive as well. BTW push that fast forward button in the right lower part of the screen to advance through the game more quickly. Happy trucking! Will have to look into buying the board game now.

Unique Boardgame without Micro-Transactions!!. It's 2 games in 1. The first game is the fun and fast paced designing of a spaceship - with limited resources. You never get to build exactly what you wanted, but then you roll the dice and see how your spur-of-moment (imperfect) design stands up to random galactic adventures. Galaxy Trucker is highly addicting, and it's so nice to see a quality game without pay-to-win micro transactions. No "bag of gems" to buy in this game. Just a lot of fun with winsome humor and addictive gameplay. Have fun!

Tutorial alone is worth the price of admission. Have never played the board game, yet this is as well-polished as a game can be. If the game's tutorial can show you the ropes AND make you laugh, well, that's a keeper in my book. The campaign mode is really another game - combined into one package, this is the game bargain of the year.

One of my favorite games!!. I've been looking forward to this game for a long time. I had the board game and loved it and now this app is going to be well played. Loved how well the tutorial helps you understand the game. The modes of play keeps things interesting and multilayer is awesome. Highly recommend this game.

Amazing game. Galaxy trucker was one of my favorite games ever. I soon got the expansion and finished it and the campaign at the speed of light. I got so excited I even got the board game and "the big expansion." I love galaxy trucker and wish there were more expansions. I have been playing the board game now.

Terrific. Asked for the board game for Christmas. Playing this in the meantime. Terrific game! So well balanced and very fun. Great theme and mechanics.

Build a spaceship and sail it through the galaxy!. Galaxy Trucker is a fantastic adaptation to what was already a gem of a boardgame in which players simultaneously scramble to build spaceships from a group of face down tiles enforce flying them through a set of encounters finding cargo, fighting pirates and flying through meteor swarms. The star of the game is definitely the building though. Each tile that you use to build represents a spaceship part such as engines, weapons, power cells, cargo containers, shields plus more. The app handles this mechanic beautifully and adds even more great features such as a single player campaign and a humorous tutorial. There is so much high quality fun in this app, for 5$ at its introductory price, Galaxy Trucker is an absolute STEAL.

Fantastic and faithful. Galaxy Trucker is one of my favorite board games of all time. It's complex, frantic, and funny. This iOS implementation is an amazing port for a game that I would have thought would be impossible to pull off. The multiplayer is amazingly well done, and the solo campaign is witty and teaches the game perfectly. Highly recommended.

Great adaption of the board game. Galaxy Trucker is a fun spaceship construction game where every player tries to build the best ship, before you take off into space. Usually the ship looses some parts in the next asteroid field or pirate attack, but if you are lucky you can finish your mission and come out on top. There is a turn based mode, where you can play without being stressed by the timer.

WOW!!!!. What a faithful and fun interpretation of what is already a classic. My board game version was gathering dust and now I want to drag it out and play the cardboard again while I refine my skills quickly with the digital. Everything works from the animations to the sound score. Well done, best IOS game yet!!!!

Great start. Love the board game and have been anticipating the iOS version. This version really seems to capture the feeling of the board game. The tutorial was well thought out but could be confusing for someone new to the game. The gameplay works well. I like the animations for now, we'll have to see how they look after 20 or so matches. I look forward to more templates for ships and pieces of the expansion.

Fantastic port of a fantastic game. I didn't expect the devs could do justice to this great board game. The real-time ship building would seem particularly challenging, especially on the small screen real estate of an iPad. It's stunningly good, as is every other aspect of the game. And it goes above and beyond the board game by adding in single-player play, an awesome campaign mode, and juicy achievements.

Best board game ever made on iOS!. I was way more excited about this release than the new iPhones, and man did these guys deliver! The campaign mode is fantastic, and now I don't have to twist my wife's arm to play with me anymore. The only suggestion I would make for a future update is to add an option for inviting specific friends to online games. Thank you, Vlaada!

Great app for Price. Well contained. Good adaptation. Campaign mode keeps interest. Need to design other campaigns!

No turn-based option. The developers did almost everything right here. The game plays smoothly. The words are large, and easy to read. The sound effects are good. I could go on and on. So why only two stars from me? There is no turn-based option in the Campaign game or in the Alien Technologies game. You are forced to play real-time games, at least at the start. I hate that. I’m not a teenager any more. I don’t have the reflexes that I used to have. I need time to think. I paid for this game, but I am denied time to think. There is no good reason for that. So I am shut out of those games. That’s just wrong. On edit: I’ve played many more games of Galaxy Trucker. The Custom Game with the Alien Technology expansion is magnificent. You are presented with all sorts of starting options to pick from. There is no better word to describe that. It is magnificent. But unfortunately I must still rate this game two stars overall. As I mentioned previously, for no good reason I'm being forced to play real-time in the Campaign game and in the Alien Technologies game. Fix this flaw, and Galaxy Trucker is a true five-star gem.

Buy it. Simply the best board game implementation I've played, and one of my favorite apps. I only wish they had the expansions implemented. Humor, challenge, and fun. It is all there. And just when I was feeling tired of having to travel, they gave me shortcuts. They truly thought of everything.

Great game; super buggy. Love this game! Many issues with the App though (iPad version): 1. No sound without headphones 2. Sync issues are infuriating; completed missions become incomplete and game prompts me to do things I have already done (class three ship, aliens, etc.) 3. Can’t get to Alpha mine: the robot asks if I want to go there but then I can’t choose that dialogue path 4. Achievements not registering after completing them Otherwise, again, love this game.

Fantastic Board Game Port. Galaxy Trucker is the best board game port made for iPad. Not only is the multiplayer component smooth and top notch, the single player campaign is huge and branching and makes the app worth coming back to again and again, even when your friends aren't online.

An OUTSTANDING App. I love the board game; its in my top 20 and I own over 100 board games. The app translates very well, and is a lot of fun! I had an issue with the sound on the game, and customer personally emailed me helping me through the issue. A simple re-install was all I needed. Thank you for the excellent app, and attentive customer support!

Great version of great game!. If you're a fan of the board game you'll love this app which faithfully reproduces the board game experience. If you haven't played it before, you're in for a treat. Galaxy Trucker is actually two games in one. First is a puzzle-like building game where you draw tiles to assemble your space ship. Selecting cabins, engines, cargo holds, lasers, shields, and other components you try to place them within a framework that let's you connect them together to create a functional ship. Second you fly your new ship in a race against others through adventure cards that bring everything from cargo and salvage opportunities to pirates and meteors. The captain that gains the most money from his trip (for various things including cargo and finishing first) wins. Regardless of who wins, a good time can be had by all, if you can keep your ship together and flying in the face of adversity. Lots of fun!!! Solo campaign or online against others. Real time or asynchronous play! Only one thing I wish they'd add is the ability to password lock when creating a game online so only friends can join or the ability to invite specific friends. As it is now when you create a game anyone in the lobby can join. I just want to play with my friends. Please fix this!

Solid. Really good game. Would give it 4 stars for gameplay. But loses one star for not offering landscape mode. Yes, it can be designed to work landscape. And that would mean my iPad could rest on the table, and I wouldn’t have to hold it the entire time. Make me hold the iPad the entire game when it has a perfectly good stand, lose a star.

Extraordinary. It's difficult to port a board game to a computer gracefully, especially one that takes as much table space as Galaxy Trucker. And, to be sure, there are a few things that didn't make it in (matter converter, stasis pods, Rough Roads, etc.) On the other hand, there are things in the electronic version that aren't in the paper version. More importantly, though, is that the programming, user interface, and game play are truly extraordinary. It even runs (well!) on an original iPad. The user interface is fun, makes sense, feels like playing the board game, but doesn't get in your way. It's just as easy to call up reminders for bits you're not sure of as it is to speed up bits you've seen already. Easily the most well-made app I've ever used on an iWhatsis.

A Great Port of an Awesome Board Game!. This is very true to the board game and just as much fun! The campaign is very engaging and really helps you hone those shipbuilding skills! There are a couple of wonky places in the building area where parts don't go together as they should, but it is a marvelous game! Don't hesitate to get this one if you like board games or good online/pass play!

One of the best conversions ever.. This is quite possibly the best board game-to-iOS conversions ever. Which seems odd since it seems like such unlikely target. Galaxy Trucker, aka "demolition derby in space", is an entertaining and humorous game in which the players frantically grab pieces to build rickety spaceships they hope will make it to the end of a random obstacle course. Somehow, this app manages to bring that gameplay onto your deceives. But not only that, but it also adds a cunning single-player campaign and a turn-based version of the rules that work beautifully for longer games. There are only two minor problems preventing this from being the perfect app. 1. There are a few issues with longer term online games corrupting themselves. Though much improved from the original release some problems remain. 2. Where are the expansions? I want my Invincible armor, rough roads, and blue aliens.

Laggy after update. Real time games super laggy after update :( Update: it seems to have gotten worse after update. Played the game for years via real-time games and after the last major update we have to restart constantly during each game to progress :( We love this game, but unbearable to play in its current state

Used to love it, but app no longer works. I enjoyed the game immensely over the summer and had some time to play today. However, the app will no longer load. Sad to see this one go; hopefully a fix is on the way.

Endless fun. Extremely clever. Deceptively complex but hours of fun once you get the basics down...suggest some solo play with the turn-based ship building feature to start, to get the hang of it. Now I've just discovered the campaigns and have to say I think this is the height of the game. I especially love a game company with a sense of humor, and these guys have one. :-)

Great game. Notifications working. Turn notifications finally seem fixed so increased review to 3. Will increase to five when I know I can opt out of notifications for new missions. Takes five steps at a minimum once a week to clear them. Extraordinarily annoying. Every week a new mission I don't care about that I should be and to opt out of and I'm never notified of my turn on games. Had never played but love the game. Disappointing that I get constant notifications from the system about new missions the I'm not interested in (should be able to opt out). Asynchronous where notifications mean it's my turn and nothing else (no "new mission unlocked") like I get successfully in agricola, Carcassonne, waterdeep, ascension and etc. Would give five stars otherwise.

Galaxy truckers. At first I was turned off by the price. As soon as I started playing , I was no longer worried about what I paid! I like the fact that you must build with speed and strategy. Do you choose cargo space over engines? Cannons over crew members? Use battery power to charge shield , to deflect meteorites? Cool game!

Great game. Still one of the best boardgame implementations on iOS. I could play this all day. Great graphics, controls, and gameplay.

I love the board game and the iPad game is a perfect implementation. I love the board game and the iPad game is a really good implementation of the board game and nice game play. It would be nice to make friends online and to be able to chat with other players during or after the game. Of course, looking forward for the expansion packs!

Best adaptation of a board game. I have been enjoying this game in single player and multiplayer mode for days now and have to say that this is the most fun I have had on the iPad. Other game companies could learn from your well thought out use of space. Please do more board/card game adaptations! I don't normally pay for games but this was well worth it. You should advise Steve Jackson games. Both games have great humor but you are the best by far on the iPad! Thanks again for a great game!

Keeps crashing. I've tried deleting and reinstalling, rebooting, updating the software, and nothing. Shame. I was looking forward to the game.

Rocks!. Seriously best game ever - I put it in the quick fix category too, because you can play a full game/round in 15minutes or less. Perfect for a quick break - but full of strategy and a ton of fun. Just playing single player right now and progressing through the campaign. Btw - hands down the best interface for a boardgame. Everything works really well - no issues trying to pull pieces or place them. Very well done.

Fully functional and awesome. CGE has come through big for early adopters, and the new version of Galaxy Trucker works on iPad 1 devices now, though it is still a bit crash-prone as it uses every bit of the old machine’s innards to function. I’ve developed a few habits to ensure a smooth(er) experience in running the game: - Close all other apps before launching GT. - If you're getting crashes at startup, close down all apps (including GT) and power down the iPad by holding the power button for a few seconds. Power back up and try again. - At the main screen, wait until the planet starts spinning before selecting a game mode - If it crashes at other times, try starting the app back up by launching from the Home Screen. If it still crashes, quit the app then relaunch. Power down and restart if necessary. - Putting the iPad to sleep while GT is running has a tendency to destabilize things. When done playing GT, select Save & Quit from the menu, then quit the app from the home screen.

Recent problems. Enjoy the game, but recently it logged me out of my account and won't let me access my online games.

Good adaptation of a great game.. I have only played this for a handful of hours, but it seems solid. Some of the animations and actions are a little slow, and sometimes the pile of pieces is just that, but it is a faithful adaptation with some varied elements. This game sadly lacks a lot of the more complicated pieces, threats and ships from the expansions but hopefully those will be dlc soon. Bonus points that this runs on the iPad one.

Alien Presents Glitches. Amazing game, super fun to play even solo, but I came across a pretty big glitch regarding the new Alien Presents mission. I don't have Alien Technologies, but I somehow selected the Alien Presents mission and the selection registered and saved. However, now my game crashes whenever I do anything in the "New Mission" tab. I can't switch mission to either of the vanilla missions (Doubles and Batteries or the normal presents mission), since that crashes the game, and I can't even hit the X button because that crashes the game too! The deck selection is missing, likely because there are no decks available without buying the expansion, and I can't start an Alien Presents game, since even that crashes the game. Everything else appears to remain functional, and I'm playing my vanilla turn-based games without any problems. I can even start new non-mission games! Still, I don't want to wait ten days for the mission to expire. Could I have some help getting off this mission? Edit: LOL I CAN JOIN OTHER ALIEN PRESENTS GAMES AND ONE OF THEM STARTED have fun patching this out

This game is a blast. I never played the board game, but played Space Alert, and that game is a lot of fun. Gotta play with the right crowd, though (fellow nerds). Anyways, this game is fun, and is similar to Space Alert. The campaign is a blast, and I look forward to unlocking as much as possible. Well designed game!

Engrossing gameplay, clever campaign. I've watched friends play the Galaxy Trucker board game, but was intimidated by the real time ship building. The iOS version of the game puts my anxiety to rest by letting me learn at my pace, and provides a really engaging and fun campaign with bite-sized versions of the full game. I find myself blinking, and 45 minutes have gone by!

Wonderful adaptation of the board game. I can’t imagine how they could have done this any better! Great game solo and with friends!

I prefer this to the boardgame. I've got the boardgame, and it sees maybe 1 play a year. The app has special missions, plays quick and is just seamless. Two thumbs up!

Best interpretation of a board game ever made. This is hands down the most perfect recreation of a board game I have seen, and I've seen quite a few. This goes far beyond being a remake though - the developers have seen fit to include excellent AI and a very solid single player campaign. If you enjoy games that make you laugh out loud, you will be chuffed with your investment.

Vlaada Chvatil’s Masterpiece given justice. Better than the board game it is based on, Galaxy Trucker includes a sprawling campaign full of interesting design choices, that people new to the game, or old, can enjoy.

so much fun i bought the cardboard version. after spending a day with this, i had so much fun i wanted to play with the missus and friends, but the ipad doesn't feel like the right place for that so i bought the real version.. this'll still get played tho. Especially when, as per, it's just me that needs a board game fix.

Great so far. Bought this out of curiosity about the board game. Does not disappoint. Only downside is that I will have to buy the cardboard version now to play with my brothers. The campaign mode is a great touch, and shows that they have really thought this implementation through. The selection of cards is a bit annoying, but I see how this carries the feel of the real game into the app, as real players are unlikely to throw unwanted tiles back on the table in an orderly fashion, you really get the feel of rummaging, though my finger is sore after a number of rounds. :( Hope to see more great board game adaptations in the future!

Best game I've played on a tablet. By far the best board game implementation I have but probably the best game in general I own. Love it! Would be great to see expansion material... Although I'm not through the campaign so it may get unlocked.

Excellent game. Love this game easy to get into but harder to master and love both single and multiplayer just hope we get a few expansion packs.

Stuttering briIliance. Far too many parts being welded into place thanks to stuttering in the game (air 2). Outside of that, lots of fun, shipbuilding is super stressful but it’s so worth it for the times you get it right.

Very faithful the boardgame. Love it, having great fun with the single player campaign. Only one minor quibble though is when you build the ship, you can't accidently build a broken ship (you can't mismatch a connector). I love the moment in the boardgame when you've finished building a ship and just before take off someone leans over and points out a flaw and bom, you take off and leave 2/3 of your ship behind

Great game. Great game handles all of the annoying admin of the real board game for you also great for a couple of dollars compare to 50 or 60

Fantastic Campaign. Loving the quirkiness of the campaign. Great fun. For the most part this is a faithful adaptation of the board game. Just one major gripe. Don't understand why revealed tiles are placed chaotically over the draw pile. Makes it very hard to sort tiles placing potentially useful ones to one side to use or have stolen later. Updated from 4 to 5 stars. Loving the campaign. It's a wonderful addition to the board game.

Perfect. The idea of creating app versions of board games with ai's and online multiplayer is excellent. Execution is outstanding. Let's see more of Vlaada's games... Mage Knight for example...

Great. Didn't get out of bed on New Year's Day because I played this all morning. Just a Shame it wasn't cross-buy with my iPhone so had to buy the pocket version too.

Love it.... but it crashes. I love this game and play it most days on my phone, however I tried to restore my purchases on my new iPad and it just crashes out every time. I hope this can be resolved soon!

Polished campaign. This is a smooth implementation of a great board game, with a single player campaign that they clearly put a lot of work into!

Great adaptation. Would give 5 stars but there are still a few glitches with online play. Game got stuck in turn order selection during ship construction. Game became unresponsive during adventure part on a couple of occasions. Played about a dozen games.

Just like the board game. I love the board game and this app is great! Never had any trouble with the local single player play.

Awesome!. Really good gameplay. I love the campaign; it adds a cool little story to the game and I've got to say it's a really fun concept. I do wish the expansion packs that the campaign hints at you would be released in a future update, as well as using the unlocked ship designs in campaign in custom games and the related. Other than that, it's a really good game.

Keep on truckin’!. As a board game I love that doesn’t see the table very often, this game makes for amazing filler when I got 10 minutes or, let’s be honest, two hours to kill. The campaign is interesting and full of missions with little puzzles that elevate this version above the board game in some ways. Highly recommended!

It's fun. Lots of fun at hour fingertip whenever you have 5 min to spare. I like the fact that it checks your attempted builds as you go. Then you get to watch your ship being blasted away. Isn't that fun?

Awesome game. We love the board game and expansions, so it was easy to decide to buy the app. We love to play it head to head or solo against AI.

Optimized Crashing for iPad1. Do not but this if you have an iPad1. I have yet to get this game to even load. Most times I crash at the loading screen, once I made it as far as the create a profile screen (for all of 2 seconds). Update with latest version: crashes immediately. I know that the iPad1 doesn't have the same processing or memory power as other iPads, but when the new version came out declaring that it was now optimized for iPad1, I didn't hesitate to shell out the $. I was super excited to be able to play this awesome game... Clearly the testing they did was on an iPad with nothing else on it. I tried the usual tricks.... Power cycle, to reset the memory..., Put it in airplane mode, to prevent mail fetches and other update checks from running.... Reset everything.... But nothing worked. Checked system logs and can see that all crashes are due to low memory. Deleted any other apps that were obviously running, deleted all but my primary email account, and anything else I could think of and managed to get it running once... I then almost made it through the tutorial before crashing. This is in some ways worse as now I've had a small taste of the app and think it looks great. Will keep trying and post any solution I find. As of this version please do not buy for iPad1!

Love it. The game is great. Needs some of the expansions, and local LAN MP to make it perfect. Still so much fun that it gets 5 stars.

Excellent game and rock solid adaptation. This is a nice adaptation of the board game of the same name. Great tutorial and interface and good campaign, too. Everything polished and well thought out. The developers have added lots of multiplayer options and challenges. The turn based async is well done and the multiplayer servers are rock solid.

Connectivity. Have had problems staying connected to the game. Have to quit and restart to get it reconnected again. Online games take a long time to load to do anything including look at the menu.

Fun and absorbing. Great port of a board game to the IPAD. So fun and easy to play, and unlike the board game I don’t have to clean up all the pieces.

Oh my giddy aunt!. Ok. Very difficult game to port to tablet. They did it. Profound! Very impressed. Move over Smallworld, Puerto Rico , and Ticket to ride....I'm gonna be truck in' thru the galaxy for a long time. I'm speechless at the beautiful graphics, ease of play and just plain fun....buy this game. One of the best boards games ever made is now digital.

Glitch. Love the game but during the campaign, I seem to always get -2 for components at the end of each turn, even if I have received no damage during each game.

My top 10 pick worth every penny. When I bought this game I was expecting a full clone of the board game, and yes their is the full clone in the custom game option... But that in its own could of gained a 4 or 5 star rating. They have a campaign which let's you play through the game learning mechanics and having fun. Lots of secretes and unlocks. Then you have custom game options, pas and play, achievements and MULTIPLAYER! I can't wait to purchase expansions for this game and I hope they do come out with a few.

My favorite iOS game. Simply put, worth every penny. My 6 year old also plays this the most.

Lots of fun. Great implementation and a lot of fun to try and build a ship best you can and then watch it get ripped apart. Single player campaign is cute with some funny in jokes for scifi fans.

Fun adaptation. Not quite as good as the real game, but it's a fun way to get my Galaxy Trucker fix when it isn't game night. Now they just need to add the expansions!!

Great game, needs colorblind mode. Wonderful version of the tabletop game. The campaign makes a great single player experience. I can't tell the difference between the yellow and green crates, though. Could use some iconography on the crates, or change the colors to contrast more.

Great adaptation. Just getting started but it's a blast, great adaptation, and simple game. Its to get a game that is just five dollars. Not free with several thousand required to be competitive... Just five. Well worth the money.

Excellent port of a great game!. It's fun, easy to learn and has great replay value. Multiplayer is extremely well implemented. Board game port is perfect and the tutorial is intuitive and funny. Really the only negative is the lack of expansions. I would pay for in app purchases of all of them.

Wow!. Amazing adaptation of the board game. Excellent tutorial, visuals are done just right, campaign mode is fun and hilarious. Fantastic port of a fantastic game!. Galaxy Trucker is one of my favorite board games, and this digital version just as good. The animations, sound, and gameplay are all top notch. The online multiplayer is great, and the single player campaign is a blast. This is a must buy.

Quickly addicting. Just picked this up as there were so many recommendations for this game and it did not disappoint. Addicting right from the start.

Best Port. Rarely do you see a non turn based boardgame or any really, so perfectly ported to an electronic version. It has all the fun and pressure of cardboard but with none of the mess. I do miss the invalid placement penalty, but not having to beg people to play makes up for it!

A great port. While I have never played the physical board game, the iOS version is very well thought out and easy to understand. It does good job of taking advantage of the iPad as a platform while retaining the feel of a tabletop game.

Good clean fun. The game plays almost exactly like the board game. Build a ship, find a crew, keep flying. Of course, this ain't no Firefly. Your ship is assembled from spare parts and your crew is ragtag at best. You'll face pirates, slavers, and epidemics. Succeed, and your name will be spoken with reverence. Fail, and you won't even be remembered.

Fun game. I've never played this game in real life, but the tutorial was so clear that I immediately picked it up. My only nitpick is I wish it used Game Center instead of having to have an account on their servers.

Unplayably crashy. I was looking forward to this game, and dropped $5 without taking the "crash" reviews too seriously, and now I wish I hadn't. I've had the app for 30m, and I am unable to play the game more than 3m without it crashing. I'm up to about 10 crashes. I don't have an old ipad, it's a year old. Czech Games, PLEASE fix this unstable game.

AWESOME!!. This app is wonderful! It has a great tutorial and a single player campaign. The multiplayer platform is wonderful. You can play turn style or real time fast pace. This gives you the luxury to choose whether to sit down and play a whole game or just a turn.
