This app has been life changing for me and my husband. After personally struggling with weight and feeling terrible for years - I finally found answers when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease - Hashimotos. The first order from my endocrinologist was to change EVERYTHING I thought I knew about food and go Whole30, some Paleo, DF, and GF...FOR LIFE - as in a total lifestyle change. I went to Pinterest for recipes but was concerned that some of the ideas to pin weren't Whole30 approved. I was right. So I spent time on the Whole30 site and found Real Plans. I was unsure at first with a subscription charge..but I can assure you I'd be LOST without this app. From the roulette wheel of customizing dinner plans, adjusting servings to accommodate for left overs, and the grocery list - real plans is a necessary toolkit for making a truly healthy lifestyle change.
I love using Real Plans to plan my weekly meals and manage my grocery list. In the last few weeks the shopping list seems to be struggling. Either it has a syncing issue and will ask if I want to sync with the network or discard changes, or it doesn't save at all. I just got back from the grocery store and every time I checked something off, it would reappear a minute later. Makes it difficult to keep up with your list when you can't check anything off.
App is not FREE. It's useless unless you subscribe $13.99 monthly, $32.99 quarterly or $69.99 annually.
App just updated and now won't even open! Really need to get this fixed!
This has greatly improved our scope and variety of food, especially as we are seasonal eaters and tend to have the same food over and over. The only issue is there always seems to be bugs in the app, and there are a few things that could be made to work a bit more simply. Great variety of recipes though and the option to also import your own!
One major factor for turning me on to RealPlans was the fact I could use a mobile app and sync it with an online server so that I may plan my meals on my computer. The idea was that I could then use my phone in the grocery store as a shopping list and buy all my ingredients. I just realized that the recipes and serving sizes do not sync up correctly. When I had 3-4 servings marked for each meal, my shopping list on my phone populated as if each meal were only one serving (which i did not initially notice because I had multiple chicken-based meals and so I thought the amounts were reasonable). Therefore I obviously did not buy enough ingredients for my meals this week, which is very frustrating. I have also noticed the app to freeze up several times after syncing "changes" with the server. I may just cancel my subscription because of this buggy app.
Unless you're okay with paying $14 a month for something you can write in your notes app
Every time I open the app, it says I need to update, but when I click on "update" on this screen, it takes me to the App Store abd only allows me to "open" the app again which starts a vicious cycle. Once in a while I can swipe the notice to update to get to the content but not always. Please correct this asap!
I like this app but for other reasons I cancelled my subscription and the customer service chat was very helpful helping me cancel. I will use this app again in the future !
I subscribed to check it out, but its not something I want. I would like my $13.99 back. I purchased it roughly an hour ago. I have no idea where I need to go to get a refund. Thanks
I HATE being forced to get an app when there's an online version available. Won't let me access the mobile version on my phone. It said I have to download the app if I want access to the system.
The selection of recipes and the easy user interface make this app a must have for healthy meal planning!
I signed up, gave my email address and my phone number, with the understanding that this app included in-app purchases. Absolutely ridiculous. The only in-app purchase was the option of which monthly plan I wanted to sign up for. What a waste of time. Had they been honest I might have considered the monthly service plan, however at this point I feel completely misled. I would give a big fat zero stars if it were an option.
I want to start by saying that I love real plans as a whole. I use it every week. This review is solely for the app. I like the look of the latest update. Here are my thoughts to make it a bit better- allow the app to stand alone without having to log onto a computer to add items to grocery list and modify the meal plan. I usually do all that over coffee while sitting on my couch, lol. I believe there is a little bug in the latest update. The app doesn't default to today's date when it is opened, rather it stays on the last meal used. Just a bit confusing. So again, overall, love this program! Makes my life easier. Just please, somehow, take away the online necessity.
This app is changed way of planning the meal👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
This app shows your menu for the week, the recipes available in your recipe box, and allows you to bring up your grocery list. That's it. It really needs more functionality. Ideally, I'd like it to be able to import all of the recipes that I find almost daily on the web. I realize it's tricky, given that Paprika still has issues doing that well, and it's been one of their main functions for years. It would also be nice to be able to do some editing within each recipe, so adding and removing tags, and categories, for example.
I really want to like this app. Real Plans is wonderful, but I downloaded this app to use the shopping list function. But it is frustratingly slow. If I am on a store list, and tap to cross off an item, there is a full five second delay before the item changes color and disappears. If I am on the main list that is not segregated by stores or by category, I can tap and it instantly changes color, but does not disappear. Which is useless. Who wants to continually scroll up and down a list looking for things that you haven't gotten crossed off? I'm also very disappointed by the lack of recipe adding. I don't always want to have to login on my computer to add items, as I'm usually on the go and would rather just use my phone. Over all this app could be fantastic, but it's just not there yet.
I am a homeschooling mother/aunt of our11 yo, and our 16 nephew. I also work every single weekend as our local visiting nurses association's weekend manager. I run our household, and try to make über nourishing food for a paleo eater, a vegetarian, and two mostly paleo kids. I was so stressed about meals, shopping, prepping, and batch cooking. When I found Real Plans I was thrilled! I am not yet up to what I consider full speed, but am getting there and am using the app more and more. I LOVE that nomnompaleo recipes are now an add on pack, and I hear The Paleo Mom is joining Real Plans too!!
Helps me have peaceful organized trips to the store and saves me money!
The instructions are simple and organized but every time I try to search for recipes in the recipe box, nothing shows up.
