Terrible app and service. The idea behind this is great but unfortunately the execution is terrible. When it works, it works slow. It takes several minutes from the time you issue a command through the app before it registers to the vehicle. Even then it seems to fail 15-20% of the time. What’s more frustrating is that is costs $300 a year for all of the services. For that price I would expect them to work reliably and quickly. After several failed unlocks today I tried to call support and the hold time was over 35 minutes. I keep hoping they will improve things but after years they have barely updated the app. It still doesn’t even have support for the iPhone X display well over a year after it was released. Note that the screen shots show it on an X but they don’t show that there’s huge bars on the top and bottom. Genesis needs to take this one back to the drawing board.

Latest update helps but be careful!. Overall a great app, The latest update fixed a number of issues including “lock and start” so auto start will still work even if car is unlocked. HOWEVER - it will lock and start if your keys are in the vehicle. Effectively locking you out. You can use the remote unlock but it won’t work until the auto start sequence is finished and the car shuts off. So you may be stuck for up to 10 minutes. Note, with the remote unlock it will only I luck for a few minutes the. It locks itself again so you almost need to be standing right next to vehicle for auto start to work.

Just OK. Simple things need improvement. I already have enough assistance with my schedule, the weather, and so on. Stick to the basics. Give me control and details on my car. Quick and simple. If my doors aren’t locked before remote start is triggered, lock them - don’t fail the command. Remote start should last more than 10 minutes. It’s a hot humid 102 in Florida today, 10 minutes won’t do it. Why on earth the hazards need to flash blow my mind. It’s like “look at me, I’m a running car!” Or “Emergency, Hey Stranger, come approach me!” I absolutely love my G80, but more intuition needs to be put into its remote connectivity processes. Also, Version 2.8.22 broke for me. I haven’t been able to use the app for days. Using iOS 12.4 Beta.

Good car and value. I have a 2022 GV70 and am pleased with how it looks and drives, but there are some kinks that need to be fixed before it becomes a great car, in my opinion. The fingerprint scanner hardly ever works and I usually have to enter my password in order to activate my settings. I tried to delete the fingerprint, and was unable to do so, therefore it become an unnecessary nuisance. Additionally, when changing the settings between one driver to another, these are not always picked up correctly. Perhaps these issues have been worked out in the newer models.

Gv60 functionality limited. The app has greatly improved since first downloading it. A few features that I evolve the vehicle has the capability of doing, but hasn’t done so through the app. 1. Dash cam functionality utilizing the phone app as a storage device. Sentry mode? 2. Allow for heated seats and steering wheel to be turned on from the app climate start. 3. Tesla came out with a dog mode, this would be a great addition to the app and car.

Delete/Download AGAIN.... 2+ years of ownership into a $56k Genesis G80 and am still having persistent issues with this app! Blows my mind that for remote services this REQUIRED software “solution” still has nonstop errors and doesn’t complete tasks that competitor vehicles for 1/3-1/2 of the cost can do EVERY...SINGLE...TIME! Am exhausted with the Genesis phone service line which are nothing more than call-center clerks with no technical ability or answers to REAL questions. If ANYONE at Hyundai/Genesis is reading this please understand that despite building a wonderful solid vehicle...this experience alone will be reason for me to NOT buy a GV80 when the time to make a trade happens. You’ve had 2 solid years with me as a dedicated customer to get this right...and here I am being told “sir, software will NEVER work 100% correctly” by your own people. Totally unacceptable!

Pin expires after I close the app. I think there is a bug with the new update to the app. When I am trying to remote start my car I am getting an error that says “Pin token has expired[C401_11]”. This is happening every time I am trying to remote start my car. A workaround is to delete and reinstall the app, which is very annoying specially when you are in a hurry in Minnesota winters :). Hoping for a fix soon. Otherwise, the app is great!

Good, needs improvement. I love being able to start my car from inside a building and have it cooled off when I get to it. Usually it works. Sometimes it doesn’t - like when I’ve forgotten to lock my car, but sometimes I don’t know why it didn’t. My biggest complaint is that when you start it remotely, the blinkers blink until you get there. I’ve contacted them about this. They say it’s so you and others know your car is running. I say it’s a safety hazard - if I’m at the mall at night by myself, I shouldn’t have to advertise that I’m coming to my car. I can’t start my car in the early morning when I’m heading out, because I don’t want these very bright blinkers disturbing the neighbors who are still in bed. Also, I have people telling me about it all the time - “Your car’s blinking.” When I renewed the service over the phone, I mentioned this to the CSR. She says people tell her this all the time, but those who make decisions about this won’t budge. They could certainly make it an option that you can deselect, as they have with the defrost option. As for the car’s status it shows, it’s often inaccurate. It will indicate that my car is running when it’s not, etc.

Lacking quality of experience and technical excellence. Overall the Genesis app leaves me wanting much more. The quality of experience is far from the app offerings with Porsche and Tesla vehicles. Problems - The app looses connectivity with my 2022 GV70 monthly. I need to call into support f on r instructions on how to restart Genesis Connected Services in the car each time - At odd hours, you can open the app and find that planned maintenance means that you can’t use the app. Can’t recall last time I used a mobile app with planned outages. - When things do connect, the screens load slowly and it can take over 5 seconds actions to reach the car. - Sending a location to the car isn’t integrate with iOS share actions. You need to search the point if interest in the Genesis. Usually I’m looking at locations in Google Maps and what the share action like what Tesla supports. Highlights - The utility offered by the app, when things work, is broad. You can control climate, doors and even profile seatings. - Viewing the vehicles current range on the starting page is handy!

Luxury car/trash app. This app is SLOW, and I mean painfully slow, when it does work. Nothing like standing beside your car, trying to remote start for the action to say “pending” for 3 minutes just to fail over and over again! My favorite is that it ALWAYS tells me my car doors are unlocked, when I know they are not. This glitch also causes actions to be unsuccessful. I’ve also had my trunk on my G70 refuse to open because the app thinks it’s already open! I had to crawl in through back seat and pull the inside manual lever! This app should at least be on par with other brands that are way cheaper…

Add ability to customize notifications. It’s a great app, but I enabled the notifications and I get “it’s warm out cool your genesis” maybe 5 times a day, and multiple notifications about my calendar for the same appointment even though I have apps that do that for me already, without generating multiple. I really would like ability to customize which notifications I receive so I can silence the ones I don’t need and only get important ones. Other than that app is fine. Please also don’t auto enroll me in data collection - dealer specifically said they don’t sell my data but that sours my experience when the app says “we will share your data with third parties” so that was a lie. Not the devs fault or issue with app Funny enough I just got ten notifications when I opened my app when I went to check writing this review.

Great idea, ok dev. This app does everything I need it to. Commands work 75% of the time though, and “refresh token” kicks me out of the app way too often. Developer needs to update badly. Still emulating smaller screen even, so keyboard looks bigger than normal on iPhone X. Hyundai, love the ideas you have here. Remote start and status from an app is the way to do it, but you have to dump some money into updating it and fixing the bugs!!! Update: build has improved although large outdated keyboard still exists, updating with Face ID was a big improvement. These improvements need to come faster.

Not great, usually does the job. The UI of this compared to the Hyundai app is pretty disappointing given this is the premium brand. But my biggest gripe is the lack of service most times, and inconsistent service as well. Remote start request can be near instant one time and take 2-3 minutes the next. Or 5 minutes go by and you get an unsuccessful request for no reason. My other big complaint is the very disappointing Watch interface, there’s no point in it at all. If I try to start my car from the Watch it tells me to log in on my phone. So for the Watch to work, I have to have the app open on my unlocked phone which will already be in my hands… see the problem? Makes no sense. And to add to that, the watch requires my pin to complete the request. Too many redundancies. Still use the app often, and love my Genesis, but not likely to renew the subscription with these issues.

App does not work well for me. I love all the features available in the Genesis app. However, mine profile settings, specifically the option to sync your phone calendar with the app, has not been working for me. I do not like my calendar events coming to me via the app so I have turned off that option in my profile and hit save—-at least a dozen times. With in a day or two (sometimes less) my calendar events start coming to me through the Genesis app again. When I log into my settings the option for Calendar Sync is checked on again. No idea what’s causing this but it’s frustrating. I have also tried multiple times to save my home and work addresses in the location Favorites. In spite of always hitting Save after entering these locations within minutes both are gone from my Favorites. ☹️

G90 Remote Start using App. How I miss the days when I could just tap my key fob and my car would ALWAYS start and not tell me “remote start with climate control unsuccessful” after waiting 3 or more minutes for a response. It takes 4 or more tries to get it to work (and it’s not a phone/Wi-Fi/internet problem). Most times there’s a problem with the server. When it does work the maximum running time is 10 minutes. On a cold day in New Jersey you need longer than that to warm up a car. So just start it again you say… which means I have to go through the whole remote start headache and deal with the multiple “unsuccessful” scenarios. I used to be able to connect to my Google assistant to start my car through Genesis but even that was taken away and is no longer available. There’s more problems with the app than you would expect, especially since you are paying for this service once you pass the free trial period. Wait until you find out that you have to subscribe to one option ($100) in order to make the other option (remote start $100) work. I guess that’s the price you pay for having a LUXURY car. It’s still hard to get over seeing someone start their Corolla with a few clicks while I am forever waiting for my G90 Ultimate 5.O to start.

Functional, but not great.... I like being able to remote start my car, lock/unlock doors, etc., through my iPhone and Apple Watch. However, sometimes it takes several minutes, or doesn’t happen at all (yes, while the iPhone and car in cellular service areas). I should only need to open the app on the phone via Face ID once, not again to send commands. On the Apple Watch, once the watch is unlocked, I shouldn’t need to put my PIN in to send commandS. If it’s safe enough for Wallet to operate that way, should be good enough for my G70.

Service Valet?. Genesis allegedly offers “Service Valet,” in which the dealership is supposed to come and pick up your vehicle for service wherever it is, leave a loaner car, and return your vehicle to you after service work is complete. However, Genesis has provided no way to schedule this. It certainly cannot be scheduled via this app. Another concern is that, outside of metropolitan areas, the remote start fails about 4 out of 5 times. Update on June 29, 2019: Since the time that I route my original review, Genesis has lost many dealerships. This app has not been updated to reflect that. Therefore when you search for dealerships, many are listed that no longer exist. At this point, this app is virtually worthless for scheduling service appointments or finding a dealership.

Needs real improvements. I recently purchased a 2019 Genesis G70 elite. I’ve download this app and have played around with some features like remote start remote lock and unlock features there is substantial lag after command has given usually around 3 to 4 minutes it takes for these commands to be performed after being initiated also when I check vehicle status information page is not refreshed. And takes a long time to refresh it just buffers and will say things like trunk unlocked car unlocked when the car has been off and locked overnight.

Great features, app update required reinstall. I have only been a Genesis owner for a few months. But I’m really impressed with the app. I’ve only had experience with the Icon service Infiniti dealers often install and this is MUCH better. The update that happened recently is much better in design. Doesn’t feel as out dated but the auto start still feels insecure. I never know if my car will start. You also have to keep the app open and on the start screen to get an idea. But it can take a minute before starting. If I’m starting, I’m ready to leave soon and getting things together. So keeping the app open in front of me is abnormally possible. I’m still glad to have it but just feels a little insecure. As for the other status updates on the car, mine is under two years old. So it’s not quite to the point that issues are likely. The app will become more and more important to pay for the subscription once the car gets for years old or older. Still glad for what it has!

This app works for me. I’ve read reviews of some of the issues their having. But I must say I’ve had no issues with it. It’s worked as described. As far as the lights blinking from remotely starting the car, that would be a great update to be able to chose to have your lights blinking while starting it remotely. But to me, it’s not a big deal or a game changer. I’ve had no one telling me my lights are blinking. I’ve been doing it for almost 2 years now. I hope they do update the app though and give it more options. That would be great!

Flaw In latest update. We live in a very cold climate and we use the remote start on a daily basis. Since the update of a week ago, we have not been able to start our car remotely. It tells us that our pin token has expired. I went in and change the pin number, and we did get it to work. Later, when we were out, we decided to remote start the car and it’s telling us again that the pin is expired. There is no way we can we will change our pin every day. We are hoping this will be fixed soon.

Genesis App. App is terrible. Delay time to start car is too long. Car starts with a/c mode despite being in Minnesota in winter. Multiple trouble tickets opened but no one can fix issues. Software update costs $25 but Genesis Concierge says it is free at a Genesis dealership during scheduled service. My PUGI Genesis in Downers Grove Illinois could not update. I am very disappointed in the technology aspect of Genesis. I appreciate the developers response but I do not believe you read my comments. The A/C mode stays on in winter. The settings are correct. Trouble tickets were opened to address this but 2 years later it still does not work. It’s great that everyone says the software update is free with scheduled service. You should tell your dealers that as my dealer as noted above could not update for free.

$60,000 car and this is your best effort....?. This app is terrible. Commands take forever to fire, formatting is stuck in the mid 2000’s, absolutely minimal control over the vehicle, and what’s the deal with the lights flashing during auto start? Not to mention that you have to enter in a 4-digit pin for every command. Look, I get it. The are all 1st world problems. But I just bought an incredible $60,000 car and expected the app to at least come close to these high standards. One of the lamest things is you have to wait 50 seconds between sending commands. And it takes at least a minute from the time you’ve sent the command for it to register. “Lock”.............waiting..............maybe it locked, maybe not. “Autostart”.............waiting........”we’re sorry. Your request cannot be submitted, as you must wait 50 seconds between commands”......waiting......... My 2006 Toyota Tacoma (hunting truck) has a $100 aftermarket key fob that does exactly what I ask it to, exactly when I ask it. Genesis dropped the ball big time on this app.

Very, very slow and needs a lot of work. The app works *most* of the time, but very slowly. On a 400mb/s 8ms latency connection, it takes 30 seconds to 4 minutes to do such tasks as start the vehicle, close doors, or simply to refresh. Since my connection is not the issue, this appears to be an app and/or server issue on the part of Genesis. Running iOS 13.1.2 on an iPhone Xs. Dealers upload service records to the Genesis portal. However, you can’t see the services performed when clicking “Service History Tool” in the app. Results are always blank. Instead service history can only be seen on the desktop Genesis owners site. However “Services History Tool” does let you add your own service records, but those are NOT reflected in the desktop site. It’s almost like they have separate databases for the app and the desktop site that are not connected. Starting the car remotely makes it flash it’s lights, calling unnecessary attention to the car, posing a safety risk, especially in sketchier parts of the city. The car itself is great so far, but this app is utter trash. Hyundai/Kia/Genesis need to make quality of software as much of a priority as that of the car.

App is mediocre at best and very inconsistent. Please Genesis invest way more time in making this app consistent and reliable! You are doing a disservice to the great tech you have in your car with this borderline terrible app experience. It might be more tolerable if you were starting from an amazing app in the first place but this is a pretty basic & mediocre app that crashes and fails to update close to 1/3 of the time. This app needs a major overhaul to actually make it a modern app that enables you to control most of the car settings (silly I can’t set the climate temp from the app) and needs to update the status of my car 100 percent of the time, the number of times I get a message my request couldn’t be completed is insane!

Spotty reliability, doesn’t stay logged in, occasionally fails completely. Here’s a thought guys... before updating your service to say “an update is required, please update in the App Store” you might want to wait until the App Store has accepted your app update. People generally don’t enjoy multiple day outages. Even outside of that, when it’s “working” I have to log in every time (remembering app logins is a solved problem, not rocket science) and the uptime of the service is around one nine... fails to log in Avery tenth time or so. Seriously, fix this. It’s ridiculous. Mercedes, BMW, Tesla, Lincoln, and even Ford apps are not exhibiting these problems. Better to not have functionality than to have functionality that seldom works.

Fantastic Cars, Dismal App. Recently bought a GV60 to join our existing Tesla that we’ve now owned for 4 years. It goes without saying that the Genesis has a far superior build quality. However, the usability and experience of the app is fairly terrible. Genesis, you all have an opportunity to capture a huge market with your HKG EGMP platform… there are so many little things you could do to streamline the usability of “intelligence” of the apps. For one, normalize the naming convention and make the digital key much easier to set up, take a note out of Teslas book, please. No need to reinvent the wheel! Checking on my EVs charging status should not be limited to 15-20 daily requests only, that’s ridiculous! What’s the point of having a paid connected service then?

Frustrations. After owning my Genesis for six months, there are many features that keep me very frustrated. Such things as being unable to lock my car without the fob in my possession. I should be able to send my husband out to lock the car without the fob. Also that the garage door opener does not work unless the car is turned on often times my car will be sitting in the driveway and I need to bring it in or out but the garage door will not open without my purse on my possession. Also, I should be able to lock my doors by using the interior lock buttons after I’ve open the door to get out. Nope. And just since I’ve received my notice for my first service appointment needing to be scheduled, everything starts happening very oddly, such as the auto hold setting is turned on, and I don’t know how to turn it off. Love the cars looks. Love the way it drives. But there are many things in the design that should be adjusted and changed for future production.

Not bad, could be better. I’m new to Genesis and the App. I like the features of being able to remotely lock doors, start AC, check on charging but I wish the app automatically updated car status in real time when I open it. If I forget, I’m looking at old data. It’s also buggy showing my car located in a place that’s almost 70 miles away. I don’t know how to update this. It also gave me a scare the other day when I was trying to start a charge and I was getting system maintenance issues and it showed my car at 0%! I was actually at 30%. It fixed itself after maintenance update but I had to go out and manually start the charge again. Hoping issues are resolved so I can give a 5 star rating in the future.

App needs a lot of work. I’m a new Genesis owner and while I’m happy with the car, I’m less than satisfied with the app. To start, the remote start functionality is not working. Tried restarting the app and the phone multiple times. Second, the calendar integration is obnoxious. Reminders go off at odd intervals and repeatedly so. I turned it off just so I didn’t have to deal with it, however, that seems to limit full functionality of the app. Third, it would be nice if the app had the ability to tell you location and mileage. As a previous Chevy owner, their app could do that and you wouldn’t have to be within a mile radius like the Hyundai app for it to track location. Overall, my comments and others should indicate your app needs improvement.

App is extremely buggy/laggy. Just got this car and I was impressed by all the good reviews. The features seem to work, however, the app seems slow to respond, and whenever I tap into menus I get error messages saying that certain communication failed. The app made it seem like I was going to have the ability to open my car with my phone, but upon requesting this I was disappointed when the app mentioned that the feature was not supported. I am hoping the developers and the manufacturer work closely to resolve these issues in the future.

Design needs some more work. Working better now but still makes two of my iphones hot while using. The message to hit the refresh button comes up every single time I open app, I think i got it by now what that button is for. It would be nice if it just refreshed on its own when opening app or automatically once a day instead of the constant reminder. When I tap Locate vehicle it does not do that, I have to swipe up on this Details part and then still tap locate now. Why the extra step. Bad design. What happened to climate presets, those were great.

Horribly broken currently. This app is so broken right now, not only can’t I not reset my PIN (it goes in a loop when I go to reset sending me back to he beginning of the reset process)which is required all of a sudden, but the functionality to submit a bug in the application is broken because you can’t submit due to the submit button being blocked by the keyboard which you can’t minimize. On top of that you go to the genesis website so that you can contact the company and the login function is broken. This is with an updated app on a new phone without any type of oddities. Just a complete breakdown of the services and support on multiple facets. Genesis wants to sell luxury cars but can’t do the most basic of quality control on their application? I think they have a long way to go and this is a disappointing setback. Please contact me and resolve the issues and I’ll happily update my review to reflect as much.

This app doesn’t work 80 percent of the time. This app doesn’t work 80 percent of the time so don’t bother using it when it’s your only option. I tried going to party and leaving my keys inside my car so that I won’t lose them and just use the app to unlock my car when I leave to get my keys and go. Well, let just say it the app said the service was down at the moment. My husband had to drive 45 min with the spare key for me to unlock the car and leave. I was so frustrated. Btw I drive a 2023 Genesis GV70 sport prestige.

Not enough. Texas gets very hot, so the remote start is a must, but this app leaves much to be desired. Pros Vehicle commands are within a minute, and starts 98% of the time. Cons If the sunroof or any window is open, the car will not start. This is very frustrating if you live in a hot climate and leave windows vented. You cannot use find my car and other features, if the vehicle has not been started in a week. So if you are traveling for longer than a week, don’t rely on this app to help you remember where you parked at a large international airport. Blinking LED lights are extremely obnoxious, the parking lights would be adequate. I don’t understand why I can’t activate the heated/vented seats on my luxury car... Still no support for Apples shortcuts, I would like to start my car with Siri as part of my smart home. This is not difficult to enable.... It’s as if Genesis leadership doesn’t use this app, has low standards, or maybe there’s no innovation at the company...

No heated/cool seats or window control from app. Update Sept 6, 2021. The app is not working at all. 0 Stars. First, let me start by saying this is my second Genesis purchase within three years, and I’m disappointed that the app still doesn’t offer the following options. Controls for heated and cooling seats as well as window controls. 1. When I remote start my car there should be options to select which seats in my flagship Genesis G90 as well as the other models that will be heated or cooled from the app. There’s nothing worse then sitting on cold seats in the winter or hot seats in the summer. 2. There should be an option to control the sunroof and windows as well. Both Old and Young Luxury owners desire better features.

Genesis App needs significant updates.. The Genesis App and dealership network are by far the biggest reasons I would not recommend the brand. It’s really sad that such a technologically advanced car is hamstrung by such an old school application that requires constant refreshing, while occasionally kills the car’s 12v battery. This app needs to be automatically refreshing, period. Preferably via an active connection to the vehicle. A lot of in-car config settings are buggy too, since the app itself is missing a ton of in car settings, so the car ends up failing to “remember” a lot of in-vehicle settings once it pulls from the application configuration of vehicle settings.

Having issues? Your car connected services could be offline.. I was so frustrated thinking this was an app issue. Husband deduced that all of the connected services were offline in the car’s brain. Modem needed reset. He called Genesis and they had him hold MAP and SETUP to reboot modem. He was on the phone with them so you may have to call for something to reset. Hoping the review helps someone. App works as it always did now including climate, calendar and weather. Hopefully Genesis sees this and can send some sort of memo in the app to reconnect if you’re having trouble. Happy Genesis camper once again.

APP vs Remote startup. The APP is great for a lot of things like sending addresses to your car, and seeing what might be wrong with the car. My issue is the REFRESH CONNECTION. The app doesn’t allow you to just one button start anymore. It is steps and some of them you have to repeat 2-3 times to get it to work. I love my car and the app is sleek but it requires too many steps just to start the car. And that’s if it doesn’t fail to connect/start. The older version was less steps and didn’t have the refresh that doesn’t refresh on its own. Suggestion: Add an auto refresh that runs concurrent with the app or add an remote start to the Key FOB. Side note: Add in XM radio to the package vs separate

Slow and often doesn’t work. First, I’m confused that several reviews I’ve reviewed trash the app yet there’s a 5 star rating. Something is weird. If my review shows more than 2 stars, Genesis is changing reviews. This app is awful. The only thing worse is the service. I’ve had to call close to a dozen times for problems with this app and eventually they almost always tell me they’re going to have to escalate the issue and I’ll hear from someone in up to 5 days. Not once have I heard from anyone. I have to eventually call myself and spend another 30 minutes doing the same trouble shooting. The app is ridiculously slow and about half the time it won’t work. Genesis, if you’re reading this, I’m confident Lexus, Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac and Acura aren’t worried at all about you becoming a real competitor anytime soon.

Handy App. It’s a handy app and sometimes it’s very helpful warming up the car during winter months. I had an issue with the lights blinking in startup mode, but realized that if you turn the lights completely off instead of having them on automatic, the lights won’t blink. There’s two things I’ll like to see this app adds to or assists with and that’s the ability to preset the audio modes and volume and at least roll down the front windows halfway in the summer months. Overall still a useful app.

Pretty clunky. I had a Tesla Model 3 and the Tesla App was far more intuitive consistent & easier to use. Once signed in, i can do everything. No more “PIN”s or anything. This app feels like different parts was done be different departments with a different UI and workflow. Very confusing. I still don’t have app as key implemented because, I parentally, i have to call some one. I also cant figure out how to see what the cameras see in my car (Sentry mode) as i can with Tesla. The car is a better car than Tesla (ride, handling, NVH, more colors, etc. But the app and tech as along way to go.

Update FAIL…has been improved…still needs work.. The January 2023 update was an utter failure. Genesis customer care reached out via email and had a work around. That didn’t work. Then, after reporting the workaround didn’t work, they contacted me by phone. We found another workaround that was successful, and Genesis has since sent another update to the app, though I am not willing to attempt Face ID to see if it worked. I do not have to change my PIN daily anymore, however the app is still VERY slow to load at higher use times of the day. It takes approximately 3 minutes for the app to load, about a minute for the app to accept my command to request the remote start, and then the usual minute or two for the car to start. So up to 4 minutes to complete a task that only took 20 seconds before. Previously after I made the request I just closed the app. Now I have to stay in the app until I see the message that the request was received, or else the request seems to get lost. I can get my remote start request now, it just takes too long compared to what it was before. We lost functionality for a prettier app? Not worth it.

Slow. It’s slow. You have to reset the app before using so you can’t leave the app open. Remote starts are slow and sometimes just don’t happen. I’m not sure if it worth being tracked and spied on by their privacy policy. Update: Received an email about my Review which asked me to make sure my OS was updated and I was using the latest version. I’ve always been updated. The new version is the same features with a different layout. Unfortunately, server issues still exist. I also had to deny the app access to my calendar and delete and reinstall the app. This was because the app would notify me constantly about events in my calendar that I don’t drive to. No option to turn it off. Once again the privacy policy is to collective and it still has a slow response, slower than 3G. It is unreliable even when the car is 15 feet away in the driveway. It’s disappointing to send a request to start the engine, heater, defrost, and seat heat on a freezing morning, then walk out the front door and find out nothing happened as requested. Using the key fob works better.

Love the car, hate the app. Genesis makes great vehicle. I’ve owned my 2019 G70 for a year and a half now and it’s great. However the app is absolute trash. I would say remote start on average has worked 6/10 times since I’ve owned the vehicle (362 remote start actions logged since ownership). Out of the 60% of the time it works it still takes 2-3 mins for the car to start after pressing the remote start on the app. Very frustrating. I keep my vehicle software and iPhone up to date at all times so no blaming either of those. Recent app re design has made things even worse, for 2 weeks now every time you press remote start it tells you your pin is expired so you have to make a new one every time you get on. This app has been awful since I’ve owned the car with no sign in sight that it’s going to get any better. I plan on switching to a 3rd party remote start soon especially at the rates Genesis is charging.

Refresh NOT. My Genesis app has not refreshed in 4 day now. Up to that point that I had it (2 weeks) it worked great, a little lag time but acceptable. I closed all my browsers, Turned off and back on my phone. I deleted the app and reinstalled it logged on and it still showed 4 days ago with the same mileage and fuel of what I had then. I gave the app 3 stars because I like the app. I see that a lag time bug fix update was a month ago…I think you need to call the exterminator again. I appreciate the quality and effort put into the app but if you don’t know how to fix these issues…phone a friend.

Genesis 80 remote start disappointing. First I understand that Genesis is trying to attach the luxury vehicle moniker to this vehicle. However to accomplish this, one of the things that needs a lot of work , is this app. I am very tech savvy so this review is not user error. The app is very slow. I find that when it works there is a 45 sec to 1 min lag time. There is a more than occasional failure rate in starting the car for a variety of reasons , from server busy to other reasons not specified. In addition it only activates the defrost or blower, and not the seats or steering wheel. I have a Mercedes Lexus and Jeep. They all activate multiple functions in the car, and the Jeep particularly will activate different function based on the external temperature. This app needs to be refined , with faster reaction time if people are going to view this vehicle as special. The technology is no longer just available on high end cars, and many lower level vehicles operate much more efficiently.

Great App - A couple suggestions though…. Another suggestion for the talented development team. After sending a request could the response messages have “SENT” “SUCCESSFUL” “UNSUCCESSFUL” or other summary response displayed prominently at the top of the message above the wordy explanation of the request result. All that information is good but it’s difficult to glance at you phone or Apple Watch and find the word “success,” etc. to quickly get the result of requests. If, for example, a request is unsuccessful then the user can drill into the tiny details for more information. I think it’s safe to assume the user knows which request they are receiving a response to. The tiny spinner on the refresh button is way too small. It’s difficult to determine if it’s spinning and if you happen to send another request when it is you’ll get the error message stating another request is pending. Perhaps remove the spinner from the button, and/or make it larger or different so it’s clear what state the spinner is in. Also, activate the spinner for all types of requests. Also, it would be nice to be able to access the climate presets without having to use the climate start/stop button. Sometimes I accidentally send a start request when all I wanted to do is modify the presets. Otherwise, developers, nice job!

With some vehicles, you just know.. Purchasing a new vehicle can be a bit of a chore. I was looking for utility combined with performance and luxury. I first read about the GV70 before its release, the article was dead on. I won’t go over the list of vehicles I looked at and test drove, let’s just say I didn’t look at anything else after I drove the GV70. I will gladly buy the electric version after I enjoy my current GV70. I just knew.

Great car- App, not so much. App is clunky, laggy, and buggy. It hasn’t worked correctly in the month I’ve had the car due to bug and connectivity issues. Customer service has been responsive and friendly but I haven’t been able to get consistent functionality out of the app. After fixing primary issues, it would be cool if it was easy to find scheduled service appointments in the app and an ability to track driving logs. Traded in a Volvo for my Genesis and the Volvo app was great and free for a full 3 years no mileage caveat so it’s a tough transition in that regard.

Calendar sync refuses to die. I have turned off calendar sync about 20 times now and each time it just turns itself back on so I get notifications all day long about my appointments and how long it will take to get there. Don’t want to turn off notifications altogether because that makes the app more pointless. Not sure what to do but it sure is annoying!

Useless. This app is useless. It connected the first day I bought my car but since then it won’t do anything. I deleted the app and reinstalled and still gives me stats from the first day. I previously owned a Lexus and the app was flawless, so this is disappointing being that Genesis is also a luxury car and I expect the app to be reliable. Just got a message from the App Developer. Soooo how long does the Genesis team need to figure out an App that hundreds of customers have complained about? For me, the app is a big deal and definitely a reason to go back to Lexus or another car maker. Ridiculous.

Nicely working app. Easy to use and reliable app. It offers basic features remote features. I hope that in future they will add some more. It works decent stable. But definitely they have speed-up to 60s between send command to the car and respond, it’s too long!

Not great. I’ve only had the genesis connective services for 2 weeks and as much as I love the car the app, not so much. It takes forever to refresh anytime I open the app and it has failed to start the car remotely more than it has been successful. It’s frustrating. I thought that it would help save time but it actually takes longer than if I just went out and started the car manually.

App is great…but. The app is just fine and performs the functions as intended. There is a moderate delay in most cases in performing the command but it’s not too bad. However, I would very much like to have an auto start button on my key fob also, as I would use that flower more often.

Vehicle status missing windows. About 2 months or so after an app update the status of my windows and sunroof (opened or closed) completely disappeared from vehicle status details on my iPhone 13 app (‘19 3.3 G70). I asked customer care why and I’m still waiting for an answer after over a month now. Seems like that should have been fixed immediately with latest software update, but surprisingly it hasn’t.

Can’t use it. When I tried to register my email, it doesn’t recognize it and asks me to go through the registration process. It lets me take the time and put in all my info in but then says I’ve already registered and I need to go to the log in. I put in that info and I of course don’t know my password. The 1st time it said it would email me a new temporary password. It did not. I tried later and it said that my temporary password had expired and to reset it again. But it doesn’t give a way of doing so now. It’s a blundering catch 22. 😦

Genesis app. This application has not been working right since I first purchased my vehicle is good when it works and it is not when it doesn’t and it wasn’t resolved until now, hopefully continues working but I hope Genesis can do a better job with the connected services on the vehicles

Increase run time from 10 to 15. Can we have the option to remotely run the car for 15 minutes instead of 10 ? 10 minutes is not enough to warm the car during the winter months when temperatures is below freezing. Most other manufacturers including Hyundai have 16 minutes.

Electrified G80. We have several Genesis vehicles that use the Genesis Intelligent Assistant app. This app is insanely slow in responding to requests. Even though you tell it to stay logged in, it tends to not stay logged in, thereby causing problems if you try to use the watch app. Also why can’t you do multiple commands from the app. If I do a climate start command, when I get to my vehicle why can’t I use the app to unlock the vehicle. Also, I don’t understand why the Electrified G80 does not have options to allow climate presets that include turning on the heated or cooled seats. This seems like a pretty glaring oversight. The app has improved over time, but it still has some pretty big deficiencies.

Looks very busy & not complete. - At a first glance the app looks very busy. Not a very simple and easy looking interface like the Tesla app. - Some of the features of the when you try to use it, the system kicks you out by saying it’s not available! Don’t show that you can do this feature if it doesn’t work. - Allow us to schedule an appointment using the app!

Update Broke The App. The January 20th update like many others have reported broke the app. I get a pin error token every time I try to do anything within the app. The only way to resolve the pin error is to delete and reinstall the app and it will work for one action within the app before you have to again delete, and reinstall the app, when you pay monthly for the service it is rather disappointing. Prior to the January 20th update the app was phenomenal!

Cant look for my cars location on Iphone 13 pro max. I have been trying to get this fixed I thought it was my issue , tried uninstalling and installing several times but the location finder does not work on my phone it works on the iPad so its not my accounts issue . Can the developer please fix it or let me know how i can fix it

Ruined a perfectly good app. This app was updated and while it looks pretty, they took away functionality which defeats the purpose. Every time I try to use my remote start it tells me the “pin token has expired”!! People have found a wok around as it seems to be due to using the Face ID instead of using the pin, but that defeats the purpose of Face ID. I shouldn’t have to use my pin to use the remote start. Need to test the product before sending it out to the public. Come on Genesis do better!!

Genesis G70. The best riding vehicle we’ve had thus far. We knew this was going to be a wonderful ride, from the beginning , starting with our experience with Lorenzo our salesman at the Pepe of Genesis Dealership. A knowledgeable, upbeat and not the stereotype salesman. He truly believes in in Genesis and the car basically can sell itself. Our salesman was the icing on the cake who helped make tour Genesis a truly exceptional experience.

Not Impressed. From what I see so far, the Maps claim to be powered by Google but my first search for gas stations missed the two nearest my house that I have been using for years. And they of course show up using Google Maps and Apple Maps. Then I tried to check status and it produced and error. Maybe unlock the doors? Nope. But no error. Maybe honk the horn? Nope. But it did produce an error. Fortunately the connected service was free - it is worth exactly what I paid for it. Why didn’t the Genesis simply add Apple CarPlay and make it easy for all of us.

Loses connection. This would be a nice feature of the car if it would stay connected. As it is, it rarely works when I want to use it. I’ve had to call Connected Services to get it started several times. Now I know the procedure: get in the car, reset the head unit, reconfigure connected services. It’s about a 6 to 8 step process. They say it goes to sleep if I don’t use it to start the car often enough. Even 3-4 days between starts doesn’t seem to be enough.

Horrible. I’m sorry but this App is so disappointing considering I used the Hyundai app for nearly 4 years and it worked great. You’d think the Genesis version would be better or at least on par. Sadly it’s not. I keep getting a message saying the app is unable to connect to the server from my mobile phone. From my computer, works find. But, who wants to lug a 27” iMac around to remotely start your car. Disappointed

Best affordable luxury vehicle. This is my third Genesis I think I’m sold for life. Ultimate luxury at an affordable price. Too many feature to enjoy them all but I’m trying. Only improvement is gas mileage. Currently I average 20 miles per gallon. Combine which is probably average for this size engine.

Digital Key. I have a 2024 GV70 but can’t figure out how to set up my iPhone 16 as a digital key. I’ve watched the videos and I have an account setup on the Genesis Digital Assistant App. I placed my iPhone on the wireless charger and when I click “save” under the smartphone key it says “place the digital key/device on the wireless charger and try again”. How do I set up my digital key? Am I missing something?

Poor calendar integration. I like the app for most purposes. The biggest annoyance is it’s integration with my calendar. More often than not it gets the times wrong. Because of this I disabled it in my profile, BUT each time I reopen the app it reenablea the calendar and I get dozens of notifications coming across my phone. Basically there is currently no way to turn off the calendar integration

Disappointed G80 3.5 Prestige 2023 Owner. I am very disappointed with my 3.5 GS 80 because after taking the car in for a Navigation software update a few weeks ago as soon as the car was returned to me I noticed I now have another irritating software problem that I did not have prior to taking the car in. I have lost about 60% of my "autonomous Level 2" diving time and this wonderful technology is the main reason I purchased this car

Lots of issues. This app, when properly working, works well, however for the past couple of weeks I am continuing to get pin token has expired and the fix is to delete the app, I have to do this EVERYTIME! Also I have been recently going through the process of resetting my password and the app won’t accept it. I work in the tech industry so I understand how to use it, but right know this app has taken a few steps back!

4 months still not working. This is the worst app ever. I have had my car for four months now and the app has never worked. Not once. I have called customer care reset the app and the in car unit and still nothing. If i would have known this did not work i would never have gotten the car. Worst part is i can’t even remote at smart from the key since Genesis did not put that feature in. I can’t wait for my lease to be up. I would not recommend to anyone. Stay far away. There are better “luxury” cars out there.

Ok but still a handful of bugs. I use the app mostly for remote start, but things that are still frustrating: Showing car parked in Costa Mesa (never been there), not accurately reporting tire pressure that matches what is shown in the car, always having to hit refresh (background update would be great), and other ideas that would be great would be more info about OTA updates, current software versions, and better EV data and graphics for both trips and charge sessions.

App never works. My app won’t work. Ever. It used to for the first few months but now it won’t even update. I’ve ensured the latest updates to my app and phone software are current. I’ve attempted to delete and reinstall. And it still won’t update. It states my last update was 4months ago and just keeps giving me error messages. Even before that the app rarely ever worked for remote start or anything. HIGHLY disappointing as the car itself is divine.

Genesis you have some explaining to do. How is it after 5 years this app is now useless. 2018 genesis g80 with 3g network with no fix? Really you put 3g in a car that should have had 4g that was available at the time. Instead of being proactive and designing a fix or at least have a solution you have nothing. One of the main reasons I bought the car is to have the app features. This is complete nonsense. CEO of Hyundai/genesis should be fired for allowing this to happen. Car is only 5 years old. This is very pathetic.

The app can be very glitchy.. First and foremost- I love my GV80 and when this app is working properly it’s an amazing connivence. That being said, it’s SUPER glitchy. Some of the features including the remote start from my phone doesn’t work properly adding that the vehicle status isn’t correct either. I’ve read I’m a Genesis Forum that this is not an isolated issue. Use the Key Fob to make sure the car is started. Idea is a 10, execution is a solid 3. Sorry Genesis.

Less useful, still wonky. The refresh is nice, but you removed features which were nice to have. For example, it was convenient to have the outside temperature on the front page. It was also convenient to have the map search on the front page, where I could quickly send an address to the car. Try a better refresh, please. And you app needs to be more unified in the different pages; still wonky.

Broke app with last update. With last app update, can no longer remote start the car. Keeps saying “error- failed on server side”. Typical Genesis tech, with every update, something always breaks and it takes them anywhere from 2 weeks to a couple of months to fix. Update- turn off new “quick start” feature, then everything works fine once again.

The app doesn't work. I bought my Genesis GV80 one month ago after 3 days this app never work again, I did all the updates, deleted and reinstalled and nothing happened. After the last refresh, every time when I try to do it again I received this message “ URLSessionTask failed with error “

Locked door remotely from phone. Informed by Genesis car was unlocked and I was able to lock it without going to car. Super. All the remote power Genesis gives you becomes essential after a while. Extremely useful and powerful. Worth it!!

App hasn’t connected to G90 in 10 months!. I’ve the last year my 2018 G90 lost all connection to the Connected Care service that I pay a lot for. I’ve done about everything Genesis asked of me with no solution. Now my wife leaves town and my key is locked in my Genesis. Guess what? Cannot connect and remote unlock it. I mean I didn’t expect I’d be able to but I thought by some miracle this would be fixed. Now I can’t even get into the car to try to troubleshoot all over again. Wonderful.

Quality car, poor app. This App is so frustrating - whatever you do don’t let it access your calendar. Mine gives me constant notifications about events in my calendar showing random locations sometimes hours away telling me to ‘leave now’ . When you get the pop-up’s you can’t close them so then I can’t access anything else. Everything is too many button clicks away. After a few years of this being out, the bugs should be ironed out by now.

Continually tells me my car is unlocked in my garage. I will get 30 plus notifications through the night about my car being unlocked in my garage. This needs fixed. It’s a great feature but one notification is plenty. I don’t want to lock my car in the garage and shouldn’t have to. Hope this can be fixed I see others complaining too. Otherwise this app is pretty terrific as is the Gv70

TRASH!!!!. The app is complete TRASH! It disconnects from my car almost every day so I cannot use any of the features. This leaves me having to reset it from the car almost every day. I called the customer service, they said nothing like this has ever happened (find it hard to believe seeing all the comments on here saying the app is trash as well). They said they would send the issue to their engineers. Never heard back. I love my car but I am considering trading it in because of this. Spent over 70k on this vehicle and I can’t even remote start it! Complete garbage.

Service is terrible. The App stopped working for 2 weeks I made multiple calls to Genesis They simply blamed their Bluetooth vending and refused to have a manager call me back despite multiple calls to their customer service department. I got in conflict with the dealer who sold it me. They got the same treatment from a Genesis. Beautiful car. Disgusting service. Mercedes, BMW and Lexus would have been all over this. No luxury here

Unreliable and Infuriating. First the infuriating part. Nearly everyday I turn off calendar synching and the next day the app has decided to synch with my calendar and gives me all sorts of pop ups about departure times for things in my calendar THAT I DON’T DRIVE TO. And yes, I tap the save changes button every time. This is driving me crazy. Otherwise when it connects to my car it is generally useful but the failure rate for connections is about 50% so the app is essentially useless with the added benefit of doing things I specifically tell it not to. This app need a major overhaul.

Hyundai Palisade. I went to install the app for the Palisade and had a very nice surprise as when I went to register the app with my email address, that there was an existing account through my wife’s G70 which was already registered. The status monitoring, servicing info, the remote operating options are all very easy to use and work seamlessly.

PIN Token. With the current app upgrade, everyone seems to be getting a PIN Token expired error message. Even after updating the PIN, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, it still does not work. You are not able to use remote start, unlock or lock car. This is very inconvenient, someone needs to take a look at this issue.

Climate control not working. When using the remote start , the climate isn’t working at all . While entering the vehicle I find that the ac is off. This issue came along after the update. I provided you with 5 stars based on my history with you

Pin has to be redone every time. Since the update the Pin has to be redone every single time to get it to work. I get the Pin Token expired everyday now and I have to go to settings and reset it anytime I want to remotely start my car. This never happened before the update. Please fix. I like the look of the new update you just need to fix this one annoying bug.

Overall ok. But why so much data usage?. Overall the app functions alright. It does take 10-20 seconds for a command to go through, which seems long in today’s world. Most strangely: the app drained more cellular usage than almost every other app on my phone (including my internet browser). 600MB in just two weeks! Where is all the data going? What is it downloading?

Only OK. While several of the features are handy and seem to work well (vehicle status, remote start and lock; haven’t tried others like scheduling service yet) the calendar feature will not pick up the event location. Sending the event location to my car for navigation is useless because the app, when it sees a location at all, uses my current location (wherever I am at the moment.) Fixing this would make the app a 5 star app.

App is glitchy. As stated in another review, many remote features available in this app are unreliable. The remote start function works conservatively 80% of the time. The other 20%, results in an error message asking if I started the vehicle in the past two weeks. This is frustrating for such a high end, well designed GV60. The car is beautiful, the app is not

Awful Latency and Remote Command Bugs. We left our key inside the car by mistake and then sent a command to remote start the vehicle, which went through after a long time. The car was locked when we approached it due to the remote start, and we could not enter the car even though our keys were inside, nor could we send any commands to the car due to all the latency and the previous remote start command jamming up the queue. This is a MAJOR safety concern. Fix it ASAP please.

Is annoying when it should be useful. This app strives to be an intelligent personal assistant, but I’d fire any assistant that provided such useless “help.” The calendar integration is beyond infuriating as it gives multiple alerts for everything in the calendar even if there is no location data. This means I get way too many alerts given the number of meetings and calls I schedule. For goodness sake, give me an option to tell it to ignore those with no defined location. If I didn’t need the app to remote start the car, I would remove the app completely and use only the owner’s website. I work for a software company and we strive not to make the mistakes I see in this app every day. I love the basic idea of what the app -should- do but there are so few things it does well that the app is, at best, useless to me.

Surprisingly good and useful. I was doubtful when I first downloaded the app, thinking that it’s yet another car all with little substance. I was wrong - it does what I want quickly - remote lock door, remote start locate car, get maintenance service. Minimum fuss. Have to say I am pleasantly surprised.

Remote start with seat heat & defrost. This should be an option on all. There are forums written about this subject. Not one owner/customer objects to having these options. Genesis needs to figure this out. Heck, charge money for an update if you have to.*** ***I’d advise against charging more as there are even more forums basically dating back to 2010 about how Hyundai “nickels & dimes” customers/owners with gadgets, add-ons, features, options, etc.

Disappointing. Overall the functionality of the app is fantastic. However the app is always encountering some issue where I cannot open it consistently. I’ve only had my vehicle and this app less than 60 days and cannot remember the last time I could use this app on back to back days without it crashing or some user traffic problem. To date I’ve not been able to use the app for 5 days. I do like that the app does offer Genesis accessories but I can’t get to it to order! Argh!!! Please address this!!
