Connectivity issues. Seems to be having trouble staying connected to both hearing aids since the latest iOS update.

Resound smart app. I tried to update the app so after I deleted it now I can’t get it to show on my home screen and it always can’t find my hearing aids and wants me to pair them but they already are paired. Worthless app.

Excellent Application - Proven Tech Support. - Remarks in proofing offline

Ever since apple uodated the iPhone to iOS 16.1.2. The app will not recognize my hearing aids since iOS update 16.1.2 this is very disappointing. I will probably save my money and buy another brand if gearing Sid’s next time I make a purchase. Nothing g but trouble with these connecting

This app worthless with my hearing aids.. The old app at least was somewhat worthwhile. I could pair to hear phone conversations. This app will not even pair my aids. Very disapointed.

Tinnitus blocker doesn’t work. The app used to have access to the Tinnitus blocker, but it’s no longer available. It was very affective and did a great job of minimizing the condition. I don’t understand why it no longer works. Please fix it!

Useful app - needs refinement. Never had an issue connecting via Bluetooth with my iPhone 6. Straightforward and uncomplicated. Of all the various features available in the app, there really are only three which one uses on a regular basis: volume, program selection, and sound enhancer for noise and wind reduction. Rather than spreading these three features across multiple different pages of the app, it would be a significant improvement if they were all available on one page. The four program buttons could be on the top, the volume control in the middle, and a button to access the sound enhancer somewhere conveniently accessible on that page. As it is now, one must change the volume on one page, swipe across to another page to change the program selection, and then hit the “… [more]” button at the top of that page just to access the sound enhancer button among a list of rarely used features like favorites and treble/bass. The information in the app for my particular hearing aid model incorrectly lists a 13 battery as the appropriate one rather than a 312 and the battery life indicator is essentially useless as I’ve never seen it showing anything other than full battery until after I’ve already heard the low battery chime in the aids. It should gradually show less available power like a gas indicator in one’s car.

Not connecting. Why can I not connect my hearing aids? They are the “in canal” type. I used to be able to but since I had to reset my phone now I can’t find my style of hearing aid.

Apple Watch - Not. Doesn’t connect. No support either.

Good luck…. I was having some minor issues with my hearing aids and sent them back to re-sound for repair an update. Since I have received them back, the app will not connect with the hearing aid even though the hearing aids are clearly available on the phone through the accessibility function. The app recommends using the “demo“ setting as an option, but that is very unacceptable for day-to-day use. There does not seem to be any access or support within the app to correct this problem.

Still loses connection. I’ve been using the Resound paired with a Cochlear device, and have had nothing but trouble with it and the apps. I traded a Samsung S8 Edge phone for an iPhone 6S plus ( my sister’s) so it would be more compatible. I’ve had this for over a year. Started having more trouble with dropping Bluetooth. Blaming the s6 for running out of memory (16GB), I recently bought a new iPhone XS. With 64GB. The past few days, the Resound worked great. Today it won’t connect at all. I’ve loaded and reloaded the app. Nothing. The iPhone Bluetooth works with everything else. When trying to listen to TV through the tv sound adapter, the adapter icon shows in the app, and the yellow and green lights on the adapter are steady, showing that the device is connected to the iPhone, but the hearing aid won’t connect to the app. Finally it lost Bluetooth connection altogether. I’m wearing a demo HA because my own has been sent back to the manufacturer for the upteenth time for various problems. The two stars are for both app AND hearing aid! I would have given one star but will give credit for those days when it DOES work right, because then it’s great. I think the engineers at Resound need to go back and start all over again from scratch and then introduce a hearing device that will work consistently instead of one that only works part time!!

Wayne. Try to pair this app w/ my IPhone and it recognized them and in settings my phone recognizes them but the app won’t work. Tried 10 times. Not worth the time.

Stopped working after iOS update to 15.4. The title says it all. This app worked great for me but after updating to iOS 15.4 last night, it will not pair with my hearing aids. I can no longer use this app to control my volume/programs when I am in loud, blaring environments. I am so upset. I use this app every day

Keep up with updates. Almost every time I have an update on my phone I get disconnected from resound. The latest update I am no longer able to use resound at all. Please fix this problem ASAP.

Great except for two BIGGIES!. I’ve had my Lynx 9’s for nearly 3 months, connecting to my iPhone 5. The aids are excellent and the program controls in the app work great. Occasionally paring is a problem requiring phone reset, but no biggie. Now the two BIGGIES: 1. Phone answering is terrible. Incoming calls default to the aids and take 5-10 seconds to connect. Dropouts are frequent and sometimes calls disconnect one or both sides of a conversation. With background noise, the conversations are often impossible to hear. Outgoing calls give the user the option to choose phone vs aids. I select phone every time and it works fine. Please, please give us a default setting so calls are answered to phone and not aids, and also fix the issue. 2. Music streaming from the phone library is of extremely poor quality and much much worse than conventional ear buds or BT buds. Bass is minimal and highs exaggerated. The app gives no equalization control and the iPhone equalizer settings do very little. I consider this function unusable and go back to buds for music. Unacceptable. Give us better sound from the phone or an in app equalizer that can fix it. Fix the two BIGGIES and you’ll get 5 stars.

Unreliable Bluetooth connectivity. I have been using Resound LINX2 hearing aids since 2015... Lately, updates to iOS and the Resound “Smart” application have introduced problems maintaining Bluetooth connectivity to my iPhone SE, including the ability to hear either ringing of the number called, or the subsequent audio. On two occasions Resound reps have said the iPhone SE is incompatible, which ignores the fact that the App & SE have otherwise been compatible for several years. Any time I intend to make a phone call, it usually requires going back to settings to confirm that level of Bluetooth connectivity; most often there is. Next, I need to confirm the connection status in the SMART app. (Anytime the Smart app is no longer the active window, connectivity is lost.) As a result, a “pause” is necessary while SMART app re-connects, which takes from several seconds, or it may “hang” & require closing & re-launching the SMART app, which increasingly doesn’t work, even though Settings indicates an iPhone Bluetooth connection. On occasion, even though Settings & the SMART app indicate connection, there is no audible ringing, or speech. The Client is out of communication until inexplicably, a haphazard application executes, but with no notice.

Doesn’t like my iPhone. Often doesn’t connect and when it does, it does not remain up for long. Have had to delete & reload app and re-pair hearing aids many times to get it to work.

iPhone incompatible 🤯. Volume fluctuates up and done (treble-midrange-bass) randomly and radically. This has been happening for 3 months since IOS 15.5. Resound only says says it is Apples fault and there is nothing Resound can do to fix it!

Smart-Wow-I don’t want to see dumb.. I’ll provide some support: if your GN app is consistently in mono and refuses to connect to both aides then step 1) restart your device. step 2) buy a better pair of hearing aides.

No working with latest iOS 15.4 update. The app worked really good for several years now. However, after I updated my iPhone to iOS 15.4. It won’t load correctly asked me to pair my hearing aids with the iPhone every time I turn back my phone on. Obviously this is very inconvenient. Can you please make the app compatible with this new 15.4 and future iOS updates?

Mom Can only pair right hearing aid. My mom is a teaching aid for young readers. She has the Resound Enzo 88 hearing aids. With her Iphone XR, she can only pair the right side. We think one of her set was replaced. The support documents don’t provide enough info to help us get both paired. Where can we get more specific help for pairing issues?

iOS 16. Since the update my hearing aids unpair unexpectedly. Please update app it is ver frustrating. Going to my audiologist to to try to work this link out

Inconsistent performance. When the app works it’s great to be able to talk on phone and stream music with my hearing aids. Too bad it doesn’t work very often and constantly have to try and re-pair to my iPhone. Wish it were better.

6 years. No problem with this app

Connectivity. App will not operate with my I Phone with the 15.4 update. Hopefully this can be corrected in the near future

Updated review. Update 2. Had to change to 5 stars on the Developers communication and action. Reviewed many apps and NEVER had such positive experiences. Even though I had solved my issues they provided advice in the event I had problems with future updates. Can’t say enough about their concerns about my experience. Updated review. After “Forgetting this device“ in setting and a hard reboot of my iPhone I paired them again and the app finally recognized my hearing aids. The features seem to work just like the previous version. I’ve been using this app for 7 years and NEVER had a problem. Now either can’t find or finds one. I finally got both recognized and it wanted me to go to settings to pair them. They ALREADY paired but the app would continue to tell me go to settings. Won’t connect like I said useless. Please fix!!!!

Hearing Aid finder works. I have used the app primarily for adjusting my recently purchased hearing aid settings and switching programs including streaming from TV. But today I lost my hearing aid on the golf course but found it with the help of the app's finder. It truly was like finding a needle in a haystack. After I realized I lost my right hearing aid, I got back in a cart and tried to retrace my movements while playing. I did not keep the app open when I did that, so when I finished without finding the hearing aid, I thought it was gone. But when I went back to Costco to file a lost claim, the hearing aid tech suggested we look at the app again and sure enough, it noted that an hour ago (when I was on the course looking) the hearing aid was near the 6th hole green. So I went back and sure enough the app worked like a digital geiger counter and I found the missing aid in about 5 minutes. Amazing that I found it! Even if you don't like other aspects of the app, it is well worth it for the "finder."

Not catching up to IOS 17.4. Reconnecting with the Bluetooth and every update with Apple, It just seems my Hearing Aids are having problems connecting with the Resound App. I like the old app where i could just connect very easily. Now, it seems more problematic.

No longer streams to iPhone. Before getting the audio settings tweaked this morning, I updated the Smart app. It said the hearing aids were connected but not sure they were. (The audiologist checked as well.) This evening I read the info from the developer and tips in the reviews. Forget hearing devices, delete app, install app, etc. with restarting phone. The reason I bothered is that if my Bluetooth is turned on, I can’t hear any audio on my phone - streaming or otherwise! And when I took a call with it streaming to my ear, people couldn’t always hear me. So I have been leaving the Bluetooth turned off most of the time. But I like being able to stream a podcast to my right hearing aid. Sadly, after updating the Smart app I can’t even do that any more. I am using iOS version 14.8 on an iPhone 12. Wishing that I could go back to the old version of this app. Not quite ready to invest in smarter (more up to date) hearing aids, but when I do I will carefully compare brands…. And I will check the reviews for apps before updating them!

Going to make me change brands!!!!. In one word....Unreliable. I have had so many issues with this app and hearing aids it’s ridiculous. Want to answer your phone? 50/50 chance it will not work with the hearing aids. Phone will ring and when you answer it it “connects to hearing aids” but keeps ringing while locking you out of swapping to regular phone. All the while the person on the other end can hear you so they start talking but you can’t hear them. Very embarrassing to ask your BOSS to repeat himself because your hearing aids are malfunctioning! Ok maybe just maybe it is an Apple issue but then it is across the board... want to listen to an audio book meh maybe it will work maybe not at any point one or both hearing aids will drop out (I’m not moving and my phone is in front of me not moving) I have spent a lot of time on tech support and had my hearing aids tested and adjusted multiple times. (Not cheap) It’s so bad that I have resorted to just turning off my blue tooth at times if I know I will be on a conference call and use an old over the ear set of headphones with an adapter. Also why can’t I adjust EVERYTHING on my hearing aids I’m the one using them I should be able to make them perfect in the settings!!! Edit.... update did not fix any of my issues.

Doesn’t monitor battery life. I have worn aids for many years, always hoped this new technology would show me the battery life left at any time. It does provide an easy way to adjust volume. When it shows battery life it will be the best of all worlds.

Turn off background noise. Not fond of the background noise…. How do I turn it off and, only get the people talking?

Still has terrible bug. If I don’t change the batteries immediately on low charge warning the app freezes up and must be trashed and reinstalled. How many years must this go on???)

Complication Gone‼️. The Apple Watch complication disappeared with the most recent update. Please bring it back.

Happy User. I have had a single Resound Linx2 for a little over a year now and have used the Smart app consistently with no issues all that time. I'm not sure why so many users experience so many problems. I use it to stream music and radio from my iPhone nearly daily. I manually use the switch on my aid to use the TV streamer but sometimes open the app for adjustments. At work, I recently got a Bluetooth capable Cisco VOIP phone and I paired my phone clip to it. No problem. I then bought a Plantronics BT 300 USB Bluetooth dongle so that I can easily switch to PC for audio and even VOIP calls over Lync (IM). Guess what? No issues! There are a few minor annoyances like the iPhone program only appears in the app when something calls it up and then disappears when not in use and it takes about 5 seconds to switch programs after I hang up a call using the phone clip, however it's a small inconvenience and this has been a game changer for me, giving me the same functionality that hearing people just take for granted. For people with chronic issues, you may want to take your HAs in to your audiologist for firmware updates and of course make sure your mobile has all the latest updates installed at all times. I haven't updated the firmware on my HA since I bought it but will be doing so soon. Again, NO issues and one happy camper!!!

Work in process. Like other reviewers, the hearing aids are brand new for me, replacing the last generation of the same brand. In fairness to ReSound, the aids themselves are very much better... Custom power ear molds for a better fit, sound set 8 decibels below the old ones and very effective at 50% of full power. When streaming music or video, device power is close to mute and I can hear clearly. Got my iPhone a couple of days ago, so just have used it a few times, but again, agree that ability to hear callers is much, much better and it's up to me now to learn how to control volume, etc. Is the app perfect? No, and I hope with others that the app developers are listening to us. (There were complaints that the app doesn't deserve a rating of 17... I believe "17" is the low number of reviews written, not an actual rating by anyone, so it's important for all of us to keep providing critically accurate feedback!) The actual app rating is closer to an average of 2+, and that's disappointing for all of us, I think. I agree the app is slow to load, I wish it would stay connected to both my iPad and my iPhone and I wish that I did not have to control volume settings so many different ways... But I'm still learning! Let's stay tuned to see if the developers are listening, too.

Funky software. Doesn’t work with my earphone. 1. Won’t go off demo mode 2. Won’t retain settings so you have to go through the demo mode and set each time. 3. Volume of the ear phone won’t adjust down. Version 4.15 installed. Costco purchased can’t use them as much as I need them.

Not Compatible. If not compatible with my ReSound HA, what good is it?

Connectivity Loss. I have used this program for nine months to connect my hearing aids to my iPhone and have been able to stream music, listen to audible books and use the phone. The sound is decent – nothing an audiophile would write home about – but very convenient and I love being able to listen to music when those around me don't even know! Then a few days ago my hearing aids stopped connecting. I am not running a different iOS version; I have paired it several times and it still will not play even though it shows it is connected through the accessibility option on the iPhone – but the ReSound app will not connect – very frustrating after having it work so well for nine months. One other big issue is how difficult it makes it to use my Bluetooth in my car – when my hearing aids were working – they competed with playing music using my Bluetooth sound system in the car. I hope these app developers keep working on improving this app – it has great potential – but I will look at other brands when I upgrade my hearing aids to see if their Bluetooth connectivity/reliability is any better.

Issues. Was working good. Suddenly it’s not. Keeps switching between programs and causing the hearing aids to click in my ears. Please fix this issue. It makes the hearing aids impossible to wear.

Terrific!!!. The Resound LiNX9 TS are really great HAs. They Bluetooth pair perfectly with my old 5s as well as my new iPhone 6 Plus. The TV streaming in stereo is superb as is the crystal clear switching to the phone when answering a call. Also perfect BT sound with You Tube and other videos played over phone. I believe the poor reviews come from not correctly pairing the iPhone to the HAs to begin with. It is extremely easy to get only one HA paired and then blame everything after that on the iPhone or the App. If you're having problems pairing - in settings < accessibly < hearing aids select the hearing aid type under devices. On the next page at bottom select Forget This Device. Power off the iPhone. With new HA batteries installed and bat doors open so HAs off - turn iPhone back on with BT turned on in settings. Go back to accessibility < hearing aids and turn both hearing aids on one at a time. Touch the pair icon for each one when it comes up. You're done. Hope you have as good luck as I've had. I love the convenience and clarity. Haven't heard this well in years.

L&R Reversed. Left and right channels are reversed.

Curious integration limits with Cochlear Implant System. For the last 14 years, I have worn a Cochlear BAHA processor on my left ear. I started with the very basic BAHA 3 which lacked any integration. I then upgraded to BAHA 5 which integrated to my IPhone and IPad systems. I later learned the BAHA 5 had a number of available accessories and all of the accessories were made by Resound. While Resound certainly helped Cochlear crawl into the 21st century by finally offering: 1) Remote control device with features exceeding IPhone’s initial user options 2) TV sound pro which allowed several users if either Cochlear systems or Resound systems to hear TV while hearing person could rely on traditional sound equipment. There is even a video in the cochlear website showing a BAHA user connect to the TV sound system while another makes a lot of background noise while vacuuming. A few years later, our family began using ROKU devices to control every TV in our house. ROKU has a “private listening” option which would forward the audio from your TV to your main cell phone or tablet, any wired or wireless headphones she may have, AND any Made for IPhone hearing aids. I was able to choose either hearing aid or the Cochlear device for my private listening. This was amazing and cheaper than the TV accessory. The only downside I have found so far is that Roku doesn’t offer the option to play the external sounds while using personal hearing device. 3) Resound would not connect, recognize or control any of my Cochlear devices despite using the SAME devices and the fact they built the devices. Resound, for examples had Apple Sarch support which allowed its users to quickly switch profiles from the watch. BAHA R lacked any similar feature. 4) fast forward a few years later and 8 learn I now need the more powerful amplifier system in the BAHA 6. Resound still makes the Cochlear accessories. This time, however, Cochlear integrated with IOS and Resound’s equipment . One of many neat features for the BAHA 6 is its option for all hearing aids and hearing devices like a cochlear implant, have the option to select LIVE LISTEN. I find myself trying to make LIVE LISTEN work for me when I am in a large restaurant with a number of guests. I also travel with my IPhone and IPad and I am almost always wearing my Apple Watch. While the BAHA 6 watch app does allow me to change profiles, which Resound provided to its customers years before Cochlear, there is no option to turn my Apple Watch to Live Listen. The watch has a good speaker for this use and it would be much easier for my friends and family to play “hot potato” with my Watch while they are speaking. Resound appears to have a robust iOS development team and I wish they would allow Cochlear users to to also try your new features, even if it’s an unsupported BETA test for us. Since it appears that RESOUND and Cochlear had a minimal contract for these accessories, if Resound were to open their software to Cochlear customers, unofficially, they could develop significant statistics to Cochlear about the features their clients are using best when it comes to renegotiate the next production line. In the meantime, I am currently using a different hearing aid brand in my better, yet still needing assistance, ear. I would love to upgrade that to Resound so that my devices would community better but I am really unable to explore such integration until I have spent thousands of dollars on a single Resound hearing aid.

Enhancement request. 7/8/23 While we lost a lot of functionality and ease of use going from the Resound app to the “Smart” app, since this is where we are, I have a request. We have two hearing aids. Sometimes we need two different profiles running in the different sides. For example, you’re driving in a car with the windows down. You have wind noise in your left ear, which you need to filter out, but on your right is your spouse, and you need the right side profile set for speech. We can’t do that today. So, our choice is between blocking wind noise and hearing our spouse. My request is to be able to select separate profiles, other than just volume, for each ear. I see no reason that can’t be done. Clearly you can communicate with each of them individually. I’d appreciate a response from the developers.

Resound Linx2-IOS 15.4 Update. I followed instructions posted in above reviews since I was also having to repair hearing device daily. Now that it’s repaired I don’t have access to other program settings such as all around and restaurant. I can see the program card but when tapping it takes me nowhere. Need troubleshooting

Stuck in Demo. This ap constantly goes into demo mode. I end up in an endless circle trying to exit the demo mode to regular settings. While it is stuck in demo mode the location finder does not work. Frustrating.

New version didn’t work. My hearing aid paired smart app works fine until the app updated to new version. It lost all most everything on screen. No programs, the sound bars can’t move to adjust the volume…. The screen is black and white. My iPhone is XR, just wonder how can I download old Smart app version ?

IOS 16 Breaks Connection. Please fix this app to work with iOS 16, it keeps making me pair my hearing aid. Deaf in my left ear I depend on this HA and iPhone connectivity to work.

Another user with BT capabilities. Since my husband has Bluetooth (BT) capabilities with his CI recently, I have been having trouble reconnecting to my BT because the app doesn’t recognize my hearing aid. Or is it the IOS that has been updated and the app is not up to date to work with higher IOS? It requires several retries to get my aid reconnected. It’s very frustrating as this is a waste of my time and wearing down my aid doing the opening/closing of the battery compartment to get it connected. This needs to be fixed ASAP!

Seems to work OK with iOS 15.4 so far.. I was unable to use this app after I installed 15.4. However I reread the developers instructions about deleting the app and forgetting the hearing aids and starting over. Once I did that it worked perfectly

Lost connection to iPhone. The newest App does not connect my hearing aids to Bluetooth I’m unable to connect to my car or iPhone And no where is there help other than hi to connect 🤬

Update failed. The latest release has a problem, will not connect!

Poor Upgrade. This app worked perfectly until the upgrade of the app two days ago. Now it knows my hearing aids are there but it will not connect to them no matter what I do. Using an iPhone 6 with the latest IOS.

Works really well since watchOS3 updates. Love this app! I have it as a complication on my Apple Watch - the app opens from the watch face at lightning speed now and I can always see what program I am in by glancing at my wrist. UPDATE: since getting an iPhone 7 and updating to iOS 10.0.1, the watch app is again intermittently unresponsive. It opens quickly, but won't change programs. I've tried unpairing/repairing the watch, restarting the watch, phone and aid - I still encounter the problem regularly. It seems that if I go to the volume screen and make an adjustment, then return to the program screen, I can change programs for a while, then it stops working again. Please take a look and see if you can fix with an update. When it works -great app. When it doesn't - frustrating.

New app epic fail. Forced to update to “new app” and now the app won’t even connect to my devices. This used to be a great app but now it’s useless.

You broke it!. What have you done? Since the last update it no longer works... the app never finishes loading. So disappointing and frustrating I can’t control my hearing aids any more.

Smart app. What a smart app this is! Bluetoothing my iPhone to my hearing aids opens up a whole new world of hearing. Phone conversations are a breeze. Sound comes straight to my ears. Music the same. No need for ear buds. Option of adjusting sound on my iPhone is great, but have to say I hardly ever need to do this because hearing aids cope so well but sometimes the need arises and it is so easy. Also adjust treble and bass for certain types of music. Love this app.

Unhappy. Been using your app for 3 years without a problem. Updated 3 days ago and now I won’t let me change from the iPhone program to any other program. I now can’t do calls through my phone to my hearing aids. Please undo what you have done ASAP

Using v4.1.0 now. I’ve had a mixed experience using this app. Hope that the most recent update to v4.1.0 has resolved some of the somewhat annoying problems, like very slow loading every time the app is opened. Making Phone calls is now very easy. Used to experience difficulties hearing people on the phone but not any longer. Last week the app crashed and I deleted and reinstalled the latest version. Only one problem. The app continually is showing an alert ! On the My Resound button. Can’t make this disappear. Assuming it’s a glitch.

Junk. I just updated to iOS 10.3.2, now the hearing aids wont connect. 😡😡. The response from you is not appropriate and an insult to my ability to us my hearing aids, which I have had no problem with, until updating my phone to an iphone 8. It also took you several months to respond. VERY POOR business practice indeed.

Not bad but.... The new version of this app looks great and I like the quick buttons for speech clarity. But why does it take sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo loooooooooong toooooooooooo sync each and every time the app is accessed even if it has just been synced?????????????????????????????

IOS10. Uploaded IOS10 and now this app will not function - it was working fine before the upload!

Resound Smart. I just reinstalled my aids after rebooting my phone. , Once downloaded the app goes to how you air and just freezes that screen. I have tried downloading about 10 times without success. How do Igoback to anearlier version.

Does not work. Not happy new app will Not delete from iPhone wants to share and does not work not impressed

EMCEE555. The looks great and works beautifully when it it is connected completely ie. settings say hearing aids are connected but app doesn’t respond at all. When the app is working, it crashes! I then have to go through the process of deleting and reloading the app. Its unreliable😡

Update required. This app, while great when paired with Resound hearing aid, it is prone to crashing. 7 times out of 10, the app crashes. The interface need to be updated for iPhone 6 and above to take advantage of the retina display

Lost connection. I have done the recent update and now I have lost my Bluetooth connection and can not pick it up again...any suggestions

Poor connection with the App. Very frustrating. The app rarely connects to my hearing aids. If I switch off the phone completely and then start up again I may get lucky. Otherwise I have to unpair and repair the hearing aids. Not good enough

Angry. The app just can't find my hearing aids 😡. They are paired in settings but app says can't find them..... have spent nearly 3 hours, deleted and re loaded app but the same. I paid a lot for these aids because of the app NOT HAPPY 😡😡😡😡😡

ReSound Linx Apple App version 4.0.0. Had initial setup problems, mainly through my lack of doing this for sometime. Now all works well, including my Apple Watch version. Looks really good and although presently lacking much hands on experience I am confident in the new upgrade. JohnPercy

Sorry But. Resound is a reputable brand of hearing aid and I’ve been using them for 12 years several models. But resound you really must keep up to date with the app, we pay thousands of dollars for our hearing aids, we depend on them. And the pairing with iPhone is a crucial aspect of the aids. I’ve had to “forget” my aids and delete the app 15 times over the last few weeks since iPhone was updated. And the app still didn’t work properly. I had to dig out a mild iPhone 5 using the old operating system and los the app on there to be able to control my aids again. Very very discounting.

Love the product. Love the product and what it offers The chance to use your hearing aids in a lot of ways using your phone However I believe if an update could be done Can't hear phone ringing through hearing aids which it should and all sounds which the phone makes should also go through hearing aids Still find I miss texts and calls even when phone not on silent Thanks

Firmware updates are a hassle.. Works great until you need a firmware update. I would ask about alternatives to resound hearing aids.

Please make app for Apple TV. Can you please make an app for Apple TV so I can stream the sound through my hearing aids? Fabulously useful with the phone.

Rubbish. Hearing aids paired to IPhone 6 app won’t connect and all voice calls can hear me but I can’t hear anything. Old app was primitive but it worked. Delete it and don’t purchase anything from Lynx Resound.

Hearing aid. App will not pair with my hearing aid it locks up at 50% loading information. I finally paired my hearing aids when I deleted entire app and program. I downloaded the new app and paired my aids. It seems to be working well now. The program sets up when I turn the aids on. Thanks anyway for your response to my worry. Florian

Major problem. Pairing is virtually impossible

Poor Connections. I also feel that the interface is slow and getting connected and reconnected effects my communication with others.

Works now!! (Original:Doesn’t work with iPhone 13. Update: Apple sent me an email outlining the method to delete everything related to the app when when data was transferred to/from my old iPhone (particularly deleting links in the MFi connection) Works great now! Thanks Apple! ….. original:Not sure why, but it stopped working when i got a new phone, just problems now.

Thank You Resound!. I downloaded the recent app upgrade and No More dropped pairing. It works perfectly with my iPhone 11xr. Excellent product.?Thank you!!!!

Staying in demo mode. Recently updated. Now stuck in demo mode. Having to use iOS accessibility to control the devices. Online help hasn’t been any help.

Keeps disconnecting. Decent app when it works. The app has the annoying habit of repeatedly not opening and not connecting to my hearing aids. This has happened so many times over the span of two years of using it. So then I need to delete and reinstall, which means having to reset all my favourite settings. And yes, I restart the phone and try to refresh before deleting but still it doesn’t open. Super annoying especially when I’m out and about and don’t want to use my data to download the app to reinstall again.

Limits functionality. The resound ft861-Dre is an expensive resound model sold by Costco. I a stunned but the complete disregard by resound for compatibility issues. Certainly my Apple Watch 5 is one that again ignores features that could be easily added by resound. Shame on you resound.

App won’t open with latest update!!!!. Unable to open app after today’s update????

Apple Watch 4. App no longer works on Apple Watch, works on iPhone.

Apps not working with iOS ☹️. Help

Won’t open.. iPhone 7. Won’t open. Previous version wouldn’t stay paired. Garbage. If I could give it zero stars I would. If I could give it -100 stars I would.

Annoying. My app has disappeared twice and had to be reinstalled. No idea where it went and had to re install during a concert The need to reconnect every time that you want to make an adjustment is annoying. After reconnecting the app works fine

Fix this app so it actually works. Nothing works. Wont sync, cant get off demo mode. Its completely useless. Bring back the old app till you can find someone competent to fix this one.

App doesn’t open. After update, app won’t open.

Poor. Every time I put this on my cell phone, I have to reinstall it the next day as it does not pickup my aids the next day.

Needs a lot of work. Since upgrading my hearing aids and moving to Resound Smart App there have being continuous problems. Constant issues with connectivity, and very slow to connect, too many taps required so not user friendly, but most importantly the sound quality is terrible even with constant adjustments. Have tried all different functions, all around, restraints, outdoors and frequency with limited success. The aids themselves have been sent back 3x to be replaced under warranty. Difficult to tell if it’s all app or all aids or a combination. Very frustrated with this product. Not a new user, third set of Resound Aids. Bummed out in Vancouver

Good when it works... usually doesn’t. When this app works, it is great. Good sound. Unfortunately, it rarely works. I have an iPhone 11. The Bluetooth works fine. 98% of the time the app will NOT pair. Sometimes one of the hearing aids will pair. Sometimes the other one. My next pair of hearing aids I will research which brand DOES pair for streaming and phone calls

Ho hum. It’s ok! Nothing exciting nor the hearing aid. This app is a joke! Then I get asked what is the problem by resound. The watch app never works nor connects. Half the time the iPhone app connects to my hearing aid. Yes I have the latest software installed. And they ask me to uninstall the app and reinstall. I Do This All The Time! I am tired of doing this. I do not with other apps. I’m doing this one last time. Now the watch installation is taking forever but why bother? Never connects to my hearing aid. I tried the smart 3D as you suggested and of course it does not work! What a joke you are!

Resound Smart App. When the App works it’s great but I have constant Bluetooth connectivity issues between my iPhone and the hearing aids.

New app won’t open. This new version, Sunday September 22nd 2019, Will not open for me, just hangs at splash screen. iPhone XS Please fix this, I need this app to work

Waste of money. The app may work on iPhones but if a person losses the phone the app will not allow you to access your hearing aid. This company does not provide any means of accessing any support. Hence the wasted money.

The app sucks. Connectivity is very limited. Most of the time non existent. I would have given a lower rating if I could.

App frozen on one page. I like having this app and have used it regularly for about 4 years, especially to switch between “all round” and “music” settings when I play music. Recently tho, it became stuck on a prompt to “pair my hearing aids” and I cannot exit that screen. My hearing aids are connected and I have tried deleting and reloading the app twice. I am using an iPhone 7 and have the most current OS. Any suggestions? Thanks to ReSound app developer for the help getting my app working again! I appreciate the outreach and great customer support.

Not compatible with iPhone 4S. Compatibility description says this app is compatible with iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 5c and 5s running iOS 7.0+ however the app does not work on iPhone 4S iOS 7.0+

Useless. They had a good app that worked and they changed it, i have tried to reconnect my hearing aid for many many hours and cant even get out of demo mode, every thing i gave tried to get some answers has nit even come close, customer service is non existent. This app is useless

Won’t work. I have an iPad Air and I can’t get anything to work, if and when I can connect it only last for a few minutes. Please help.

Trouble connecting with my hearing aids. Every morning 90% of time the app wouldn’t connect my hearing aids and I had to restarted my iPhone and it did connect with my hearing aids. Please update resound smart. Thank you

App disconnects. Many app disconnects, really annoying. Started with IOS 11. Developer needs to resolve this issue.

Long time for app to connect with HA. While the interface is improved, the app is ridiculously slow to connect to my Enzo 9 hearing aids and sometimes just doesn’t until the iphone is rebooted, and even then. I’m often in situations when I need to do some quick fine tuning and this current version of the app is infuriating. Hoping an update is on the way.

Driving me crazy since last update. The app was great. Now it switches from hearing aid to hearing aid. Both are on for a bit than right cuts out than left cuts out than both are on for a while. Both hearing aids work great unless connected with the app. What’s wrong with it??

Connection issues. App allows for basic connections with hearing aids but sometimes needs “help” connecting at times. Would be nice if it showed battery level. Big issue if you want to use a Bluetooth speaker or device connected to the same phone. You can’t walk away and come back as it disconnects from the speaker and diverts to hearing aids. I have gone through ALL settings and there is no way to prevent it. This is super annoying!!!!! Fix it.

Please read. I love this app it has been really helpful for me my review stays at 5 stars but one of the things that is confusing me is it shows that the app will be updated I have seen this in this app for about 7 months and I haven’t seen any actual update issued for this app I have seen some of the features that will be available that will be really helpful for me especially with the job that I have it will come in handy but I would like to know when the next update will be available I’m getting to excited and want to play with the next update or is it a new app that I don’t know about yet but anyways I’m looking forward to the next update whenever it gets here keep up the good work developers

Maybe this will help.... I have the Linx squared hearing aids and use the Resound Smart app, and I love it. The first three weeks that I had the hearing aids I used the app often every day to get the best settings. When I went back to the audiologist he used a type of computer hooked to my hearing aids when they were still in my ears and set them according to what the hearing aids showed him I had done with the app those weeks. I have to say that since then I have never heard so well in my entire life. I have not even had to change a single setting in the app. I would suggest you try to see if you can find an audiologist that knows what he is doing with these aids, and have him do what mentioned above. If the app is a problem, delete it and reinstall it. That usually is the best option with any app that seems to be acting up. I am speaking about the iPhone app as I don’t have an Apple Watch, - yet.

Smart App works great. I've had Resound hearing aids since '10, it was time for new aids and I got their top of the line model LS-961 DRW. I was apprehensive about the Smart App after reading so many negative reviews, so I'm sharing my experience. I'm using an iPhone 6s, IOS version 10.1.1. The ONLY problem I encountered was pairing the aids to the phone, but that was due to "operator error." After 4 tries and then reading the manual the pairing happened smoothly. I've put the App through it paces using every function and it has worked flawlessly and it's fast too. My previous version of Resound hearing aids using the "Control" App was by comparison slow and had few features. Bottom line, the Smart App is fantastic, no issues!

ReSound Smart App 1.2.1. IT DOES WORK WITH APPLE iPHONE iOS8. I bought the new ENZO-9 hearing aid. I had to lay the hearing aid right on top of the iPhone 5S to make the Bluetooth connection, but the DOES WORK WITH iOS 8.0.2. The controller app for the hearing aid is very good, BUT I wish the equalizer had 9-12 bands instead of only 2. The streaming connection is only fair at this time, sonic quality is mediocre, perhaps due to bandwidth and the connection drops frequently when you turn your head. The volume needs to have MORE amplification. I've only used the phone connection once thus far, but again I feel it needs MORE amplification. In so far as controlling the hearing aid itself, the app works great. The sound quality of the new ENZO-9 hearing aid is EXTREMELY good. But, this is my first hearing aid and my situation is rather unique, as I only have one ear. The technology is fantastic and I voted for both Apple and ReSound with my pocketbook, I feel they are on the right track and these products will only continue to improve with customers input. Alas, it is a works in progress, but better than anything else out there at the present time.

NOT CONNECTING. I have had the hearing aids for 4 years and up to the last 2 months they have worked great with the app but now they won’t connect when using the app the only way to restore the connection is to delete the app the reinstall the app. The iPhone hearing ad program in settings tells me I am connected but the Resound Smart app tells me I am not connected. This is a large problem since I use a location to change programs. I see other customers are having the same issue. Are you going to fix this so it works with older model hearing ads I also think the new style app is no longer user friendly and having to wait for the ap to reconnect every time you use the app is a problem since it can take 5 to 10 second to do this when I am only making a program change for the conditions of the place I am now in.

Hearing Aid Firmware updates. With iOS10 the LiNX2 hearing aid integration was amazing. There was an almost instantaneous connection. But now with iOS11 and months of apologizing to my clients for the inability of my iPhone to connect quickly, I am frustrated and disappointed. Apparently every few months there is a firmware update for many hearing aids, but not Resound. And the users are never informed of a Firmware update, they will only inform the Audiologist. We don’t know there is an update or what it corrects. This is intolerable. Update, April 7, 2018. My Audiologist has figured out that Resound shipped my hearing aid in July 2015 without the May 2015 firmware update. They shipped 5.4.4 Firmware, not the May 2015 update 5.4.5. This indicates no updates for almost 3 years and nothing for iOS11. My Audiologist also indicated the official Resound response was that my Resound LiNX2 hearing aids will take 2 to 3 seconds to connect. The iOS10 response was within around a tenth of a second. The iOS11 response is in the 2 or 3 second range maybe. Sometimes one connects and the second is silent for many seconds. This makes it impossible to respond to automated answering phone lines like Apple Care. Time marches on Resound. It’s has been over 6 month without an update. Get it fixed.

New iOS experience is terrible. My love of these devices is quickly coming to an end. Weeks with terrible connectivity after the iOS update. I waited until last week to do it. Have to delete and then re-install the app for the aids to connect EVERY morning. AIDS jump between setting it seems randomly without warning. ReSound needs to get this fixed ASAP. I have never rated these before today. Only reason for 2 stars is 4 years of near flawless function. Update: Jan 2020: still having connectivity issues. Resound, my business is going elsewhere in a few months when my insurances 5 year new device purchase plan kicks in. You should be ashamed of this ongoing issue.

Good but limited.. This app's basic functions work effectively as described but it has frustrating limits and Resound is not improving it. Limits include: 1. Unable to customize which audio sources go to hearing aides. Audio automatically defaults to the aides. I would like to set phone calls to default to the iPhone and change this when I'm driving. Can't do this. If I'm streaming music on bluetooth speakers, walk out of range of the streaming device, then walk back into range, my hearing aides automatically take over the Bluetooth stream. Can't prevent this from happening. 2. When receiving a call there is a long lag before my aides pick up the audio. Resound needs to invest more resources developing this app! The company doesn't seem to be listening.

When it works I like this App....... BUT. When this app works it’s great BUT it’s unreliable It works......then quits I delete the app ....reload it It Works .......then quits I delete......reload Works .......delete......reload Works .......quits ......Etc etc....... Very frustrating Hope that can be fixed. 2 stars because when it works I like it. Doesn’t get 5stars because...... It works .... then..quits I delete the app......reload etc. over and over. -*- They recently up dated the app. -*- Thanks But I really am still having problems it doesn’t stay connected. I have LS962-DRWs Getting it to connect can be difficult. Having to disconnect “Forget this device” turn my phone off...then back on - restart the iPhone’s setup process for the hearing aids and then turning the HAs back on is a continuing process. If the app starts after that it’s wonderful. Very very frustrating. When it works I’m able to turn the TV down because of the ability of the App to adjust the hearing aids. Thank you for the aids and app, I hope your are able to get the app to be consistent. I’d love to give 5*s because when it works it’s great, but again it needs to be more reliable. Thank you

So sorry I downloaded this app. Spent a small fortune on these hearing aids because I loved the idea that they worked with my iPhone. That being said, as soon as I put this app on my phone and connected it to my hearing aids, my iPhone no longer worked like it should. My phone no longer makes a single sound. Even with the bluetooth off and the batteries out of my hearing aids, my phone still tries to stream directly to the hearing aids and therefore is silent... I am talking about no notifications of any kind.. Not a single alarm, ring tone, text chime... Nothing. I have contacted customer support and have never received a single reply. When my phone is connected to the hearing aids, I get spotty connections and still do not get all my notifications or calls. Tried deleting this app from my phone and restarting my phone, and nothing works.

Lost dual connection with Cochlear implant. It appears that since the latest app update, the resound hearing aid will no longer stream when you are paired with a cochlear implant. Prior to this update, everything worked relatively well although the streaming has always just died from time to time while streaming from my iPhone 8 (iOS13). Now the only way the app will get past the startup screen is if I delete the Kanso Cochlear device from my Accessibility section and only pair the resound hearing aid. No thanks. Per other recent comments, a hearing aid at this price point should not be as hit or miss as the Resound aids and apps. I look forward to the next audiologist appointment to get recommendations on a better aid to pair with my Cochlear implant.

Resound needs to listen to its customers. I have been a devout resound customer for three generations of hearing aids. It may be time for me to forget them. My first purchase was because they claimed it would work with Apple Watch, then they blamed apple, now apple even offer connectivity to the watch directly with health related devises yet ReSound does not even attempt to improve its products. The watch support is non-functional and designed by a person who does not understand programming, apple or those of us with hearing impairments. I even pushed them through my hearing professional and it fell on deaf ears (pun intended)! Resound please contact me through Johnson audiology or call me back if you care and want me to keep spending (over $20,000 to date just from me, fellow hearing impaired patrons, stand together and demand your moneys worth). Thank you! Mike

6 months with this app and Enzo. I love this app. It's utterly amazing making phone calls and face time hands free with the amazing Bluetooth feature. Also no need for an aux jack in my car if it is just me playing my tunes! Yes, sometimes syncing is an issue, but once you learn how to do it once, it's easy to do it again. Only downside to this aid is that you have to manually mute the microphone if you are on the telecoil setting, and it's not offered as a feature for an audiologist to adjust. Also the find my aid is also useless, since you have to be synced with Bluetooth to find it, and to do so the aid must be on. When you typically have the aid out, and if it's lost, it's turned off thus rendering this feature as redundant. I love this aid. ❤️

Won’t pair with iPhone 8. I’ve had my Resound hearing aids for a little over 2 years and they’ve been great and paired with my iPhone 5s. It’s been great as I work from home and use my iPhone for business calls, so wireless connectivity to my hearing aids was a big selling point when I bought the Resound HAs. Yesterday I upgraded to an iPhone 8 and now the HAs won’t even pair with the phone. Now, I’m back to using the speakerphone or the iPods, which I hate. I read other recent reviews and see developers comments for at least the past 4 months that they’re working on an upgrade to the Resound app to work with iPhone 8 and X, but WHEN WILL IT BE RELEASED????? Enough already. These phones have been out for 7 months and Resound is seriously lagging in updates.

Will connect to Cala8 (Linx2)- iPhone at fault. The new app would not connect but now it does. The iPhone was at fault. My hearing aids were not connecting to my iPhone. I needed to remove them from my iPhone. I turned them on one at a time and had to connect (pair) them before it would allow me to “forget the device”. I did some of this several times before I could remove one. Then I removed the other. I then paired both hearing aids together. I then opened the app and it found my hearing aids. It works much the same way as the previous version but the layout is different. The app seems to give you different function depending on your hearing aid model.

This app doesn’t work.... at all. I have had my Resound heating aids for about 4 years. The app worked fine the first year. Since then, not so much. The app disconnects and just simply will not reconnect and it becomes worthless at that point. I have tried .. 1. Shutting my phone down and restarting. 2. Allowing a the app to work in the background 3 making sure my IOS is up to date for my iPhone 7 4 deleting and reinstalling the app. 5 checking Bluetooth to make sure they are connected. I CAN triple click my button and the phone allows access through the built in iPhone app ,but the Resound “Smart” app is not so smart. # 4 seems to be the best and it will hook up and work for about 10 minutes and the no more. I always get a message of “hearing aids not connected” after the first use. Same with my Apple Watch “trouble connecting”. Again, I can uninstall and reinstall and the app works but only for awhile. Worse yet is trying to contact Resound and no way to do it. You would reasonably expect that a company that provided the cutting edge with iPhone connection would try to keep the blade sharp. I am nearing the practical end of life for the pair I currently have. I am pretty sure the newer models are much better but this relaxed attitude about fixing what doesn’t work has to factor into my decision to buy Resound again. Very disappointed Robert Smith

Inconsistent. Bluetooth connectivity is a bit spotty. You can't assume the devices connect. The battery indicators are useless. Batteries go from full charge to low instantly. You never see the batteries drain. To get the battery meters to reset, you have to boot the phone. This problem is also in the built in iphone6 functionality. By in large, the app is redundant to Apple's built in features accessible with 3 taps of the home button. The only unique feature is the find my hearing aids. The hearing aids are great. When Bluetooth connects they work well with the iPhone. Occasionally some digital echoes or temporary loss of one ear, but overall, a big help.

iOS 11.2.2 connectivity broken & fixed!. Forced re-pairing of the aids may fix many issues! I originally wrote that my hearing aids would no longer connect. However, after doing a forced re-pairing, where one first explicitly taps the “forget this device“, then restarting the hearing aids and go through a new pairing, things work much better. This re-pairing seem to fix the problem I had with the temporarily-chosen output device (e.g. speaker) switching between placing call (“ringing”) and the call being answered (it would switch from the temporarily selected device back to the default device - the hearing aids - between those two phone actions). It might be a good practice to do a “forced re-pairing” after every iOS update. The main app complaint is that I don’t have control over the streaming quality settings through the app. I wish the app had an advanced settings so I could control almost everything a “hearing aid professional“ can do.

In Process. I am in the middle of a trial period with the Lynx9. Like others, I find this a great idea not yet well implemented. I agree with the deficiencies mentioned by others and wish that ReSound had a user group site where one could comment and ask questions. Even a FAQ would help. Some have mentioned the lack of support for the iPad. The software does work on the iPad, you just have to know how tom get it on the device. If you sync through iTunes, simply mark the ap to be synched with your iPad as well, and it will download it. My issue has been that phone conversations drop in the middle disconnecting the conversation completely. Blue Tooth is still active and the hearing aids can still be controlled by the ap, but you have lost contact with the caller. In talking with my audiologist yesterday, after a call to resound, I was informed that you issue is related to the HA batteries. Even when fully charged the batteries cannot be expected to last more than a couple of days with “many” phone calls. I have had maybe three or four calls a week and it still drops out. It has been suggested that I get the phone accessory. But that seems to me to make a one step process into two and am not sure it will be any better. Like others, I hope Resound is listening, makes appropriate changes, and does not penalize us beta-testers.

DrDan's Hearing Resound App update. It's been working well with my iPhone 5S since my complaint and whining! However, these developers don't keep up with technology, IOS updates, and even new iPhones! I'm getting an iPhone 7S Plus and they haven't updated this app although the iPhone 7 has been coming for months! Same for other cell phones as well! So, while our the hearing aides work well, a major reason for selecting them is so they will work with my Iphone, so don't buy the hearing aides if you are expecting these developers to be truly high quality! They are more like backyard mechanics! DrDan

MFI The LiNX TS. I have had the LiNX TS for just over a month now and have mix reviews on it using both the Smart Relief APP work great. The only real issues that I keep having is SYNCing with Mult devices I have the iPhone 6+ and the iPad and when one is paired it is hard to unpair or pair with the other device. You have to turn off Bluetooth on one for them to switch over. Tech support I have to say is great and keep hope they will hear my needs and update the APPS soon. You have to understand that just a year ago hearing Aids were just for hearing now with MFI and IOS6 they can do so much more. So keep adding new features PLEASE!

New owner. Day 1 of using the ReSound LiNX 9 hearing aids and I'm very impressed. Pairing with my iPhone 5s was not a big deal, just follow the steps laid out in the app tutorial. Phone calls are a little tinny sounding until you find the bass and treble controls. Also using the volume buttons on the iPhone are used to raise/lower the volume of the phone conversation. Listening to Pandora as I'm writing this and again by using the app bass/treble controls you end up with a pleasant experience. At the same time, I'm able to carry on a conversation with my wife and to doing that yelling over the music when wearing headphones.

High Potential, User Interface not Intuitive. This app has so much potential, but it is missing in the implementation. Obviously, the features like volume control, base and treble, and potentially the sound enhancer, are great features to provide in an app that pairs with the hearing aids by Bluetooth. That's a gimme. BUT, trying to find the features is infuriating! Beyond the volume controls, finding the other settings defies logic. Makes me wonder if the developers spent any time with users to see them hunting for the features! If you have to explain it over and over, it needs to be changed! If I want to adjust the bass and treble, or enhance the sound, or adjust for wind noise, etc. it should all be right there in the menu. Instead, some features are found (or can't be found) in places that one can only guess at. Totally illogical and, apparently, random navigation. You guys surely can do better. Spend some time with a new user, and don't tell them how it works WATCH them struggle to find stuff, and fix it! Don't expect them to adjust to YOUR "logic". Almost unusable beyond basic volume control. Totally illogical navigation!

Wow!. I have had hearing aids for about 15 years and these are by far the best in terms of quality and price of all of my previous brands and models. I seldom use my previous hearing aids because of the quality of sound and the bother of maintenance. But now I am thrilled to hear so clearly and to have a wireless/Bluetooth connection to my iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The app functions are simple and helpful. I feel remarkably well re-connected to the world of voices and sounds. I find it remarkable that so much digital technology is available in such a small and feather weight unit. The hearing specialist at Costco, where I bought the hearing aids told me that the Bluetooth connection will fade before the low battery alert sounds. That was helpful in troubleshooting some of issues brought up the reviews.

No more Bluetooth connection. Update: somehow the streaming to my hearing aids got shot off and I didn’t notice. Wish this setting was in the app instead of the settings on my phone. Still miss having the app display the battery level too. ————————————————————- With the latest version of the app I no longer get audio from my iPhone 8 to my linx2 hearing aids. I bought these hearing aids SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS FUNCTION. Sometimes I can get it to work but it’s a major hassle. I either hope they fix the app ASAP or my hearing aids die so I can justify buying new one (that won’t be ReSound). For the kind of money these cost, this function should work. End of story. I hoped this issue would have been fixed quickly but after 4 months, I’ve given up. This version of the app never should have made it through alpha testing, let alone beta testing.

Unusable after latest update to. Since the last update was loaded on my iPhone SE, streaming phone calls to my ReSound hearing aids has become unusable. I can barely maintain a connection to the aids during a phone call, with the phone inches from my mouth. One or both aids is constantly dropping out, leaving audio gaps in the conversation. Also, the aids have trouble staying connected to the phone. Almost every time I need to stream audio, I have to go through steps to reconnect the aids. I pulled out an older iPhone 5s that still had an older version 3.5.2 of this app installed. Streaming with the old version works fine, and far, far better than with the new version of the app. So now I need to use my old phone until this app is fixed. Do not update your app to this latest version 4.0.0.

App works good with iPhone 6plus. Worked with my Linx2 {7} right out of the box. Paired and have only had one occurance of bad connection. Reset the hearing aids and worked again. I would have given this a 5 star if it could give me a little more control of my hearing aids 4 main programs, but I guess that would take business away from my hearing Dr. I save a lot of settings to favorites- Would be great if I could tweak the setting in favorites. Can only view settings. So I need to tweak, save a new favorite and then delete the old favorite. I also purchase the TV Streamer. Works well with my hearing aids and Smart app. Looking into getting an Apple Watch for the convienence of not getting my iPhone out to select programs and tweaks.

The app. I have had my aids for a month and had zero issues with phone calls. Some things I have had issues with is the fact that the treble and bass do not stay at the levels for each program sometimes volume as well. When switching between apps that produce sound it goes to default and has to be set again. Something that would be nice is to be able to save a program and be able to functionally edit the output. I understand that is why professionals are trained to program certain levels based on user requirement, but being able to have some kind of editing capability could allow the professional to see what the user thinks is a good setting.

The Only Way I Can Use My iPhone. I've been on hearing aids for over 15 years, the originals wore out one at a time, well the last one got run over by a car tire, dropped out of my pocket as my battery had gone. Saw Resound Smart BT enabled aids at a trade show and got my attention. I had been using a trial set of aids that were not working specifically on the phone. Got these and have worked thru some issues, interference at large meetings, dropped BT, squealing (still an issue) but overall I could not get by without them. Have to reboot my iPhone more frequently to re-establish connections to the aids. Not a problem just a procedure. Very pleased with these aids.

Horrible. I have had the resound hearing aids since beginning. The Bluetooth part is more trouble and cause frustration and angst! If and I say if, I even get it on with both ears working, I have to do it manually and and they immediately go off if I am not listening to music on the phone. They cost enough money for this to not be problem. When they work, which is less and less, I love having them. But at this point in their life, I would never recommend to anyone to get them—-I am stuck with them but I wouldn’t want a friend to go thru the things that must be done to get them to work and right now the right ear is useless and the left ear won’t connect without going back to the app to manually make it connect. I would give it past zero if I could.

Terrible Product. After wearing hearing aids for over 30 years, I consider myself qualified to post an honest review of the app and product. Specifically, after this week's app update the hearing aids stopped working. I called the Resound support number to be told that because my problem was an "isolated" event and it was Friday afternoon, they would have to refer my issue to someone to look at on Monday- leaving me 2+ days with inoperable hearing aids. I then contacted my dispenser only to learn that the issue was widespread- contrary to the excuse given to me by Resound support. Not only did Resound force me to go a few days without my hearing aid, they obviously don't understand that people rely on their product for our livelihood and fulfillment of life's activities. Again Resound updated their app this week and deemed my hearing aids defunct. Because their support does not open for a couple more hours (8:00CST) I now have to wait to get my hearing aids operable again. It appears that the Resound marketing department has done a wonderful job placing this product as one worth $6,000+ but the operations simply fail to support such an offering.

Falls short in many areas. For something that costs so much, they need to invest more in the app. There's a litany of little problems: Favorites do not work, the 'streaming button long press' does not work to start and stop streaming, when streaming the short press does not work to change modes, it does not save bass and treble settings, warning messages are opaque in meaning, short sounds like a beep from an app do not connect to the hearing aid in time for you to hear them (and not all apps let you change the noises to make them long enough to hear the end of, e.g., a game pop-up tone). It seems like they've got good ideas going with this app, but they aren’t delivering on advertised promises at this point.

Works OK but can be improved greatly. I just switched from an iPhone 6 Plus to an iPhone 7 Plus and the app works fine except for a couple of times the app crashes when changing the battery during streaming and when my iPad Pro took over the hearing aid automatically when viewing a video. When I finished the video, the app on the iPhone was inoperable. I had to shut down Bluetooth and restart it to get the app to work. BTW, all the time the app was crashed, the iPhone 7 Plus indicated proper hearing aid info in the Hearing Devices tab of the Settings Accessibility tab. As far as the Apple Watch version of the app, it works like for watchOS 1.0. In WatchOS3, I can put the app in the dock and have it continuously updated from the iPhone. The current version takes about 30-40 seconds to get started. That is not acceptable. The watch app needs to be updated so that it works instantaneously when started from the Dock.

Disappointing. The only reason I bought new Resound hearing aids was because they offered the opportunity to interface with my iPhone so that I could take phone calls directly through the hearing aid and also control volume in other settings with my phone. The app is a total disappointment. Connectivity is loss for no apparent reason and it is virtually impossible to repair it a busy place like a restaurant or an airplane where there are lots of other Bluetooth phones nearby. For example last night my friend and I were out for dinner and a nice restaurant that was rather loud. I really needed to switch into restaurant mode and to be able to control the volume. However when I took my phone out I thought that the hearing aids were not paired with it. I fiddled with my phone for about five minutes, rebooted the phone, opened and closed the battery compartment on both, forgetting the devices in pairing mode and finally gave up. I fear purchasing the Refound hearing aids was a six thousand dollar mistake.

Frustrated Veteran. I have use this app with my hearing aid for about 2 1/2 years and had some connectivity issue here and there but about 7/8 months ago my IPhone 6 Plus stopped working with my Resound hearing aids. GN Resound Linx9 TS MFI 61 MINI RIC LFT/RGHT. They just stopped connect cams up in a gray mode and appears to attempted to connect but cycled but stayed the same Not Connected. And saving grace my IPhone 5s was still connecting with hearing aids. I lost Screen on the I5s and now have A IPhone 6 and still have the 6plus, now neither connect. I have deleted App and reinstalled several times and checked Bluetooth functions and accessibility and No Joy. Is there any where to turn since the problem started even with the installation personnel assistance at VA.

Phone app good, Watch app fair-when it works at all. The iPhone app is a great tool that I use many times a day to adapt my HAs to the changing environments at work, home, restaurants, etc. I like it better than messing with the button on my HAs. Pretty reliable and fairly quick. The Apple Watch app has been problematic and has stopped working recently. Just get a spinning emblem that never connects to the HAs. Tried deleting from watch and then from iPhone and reinstalling a couple times but no luck. Even tried it on a different watch. No difference. When it was working it was a bit slow but great for subtly changing the mode to/from restaurant or increasing the sensitivity (volume) when talking with someone. Wish it still worked..... Update 30 Dec 16: Exchanged several emails with the company. After going thru normal trouble shooting steps they eventually said "take it to the Genius Bar - must be something wrong with the phone or watch". Since it's the only app having problems I was skeptical to say the least. Yep, Apple says everything is fine with the hardware. It's an app issue.

App Crashes After Latest Update. This is an updated review. I'm not having the connectivity issues reported by others (either on iPhone 6 or 5S) and I've upgraded my rating after the "crash problem" was fixed. BUT, please restore the volume Mute button. It is still incomprehensible that this was removed??!! ------------------------Previous review: Worked fine before update. Now as others have reported, crashes when trying to use My Places. Once this happens, have to delete and re download App. This is a hard, consistent failure totally reproducible - obviously the developers just sent out the App without bothering to test it out. I'll reset review to five stars if this is fixed QUICKLY.

Swing and a miss!. This has removed all the functionality of the previous version! First; Apple Watch integration is useless. Not only does it not work with the most recent watch faces as a complication, it will only function on the watch if the iPhone app is open and displayed on the screen. Yep. You read that correctly. If you have the app open and even blank the screen on your iPhone, the watch app disconnects. That makes the watch app useless! Second: the new app has to reconnect to the hearing aids every time you open it. Even if it is “running” in the back ground or if you blank your screen, when you unlock your phone it will show the app disconnected and take several seconds to reconnect to the hearing aids Come on folks. There are 13 year olds developing better apps than this. This new app feels like an “Alpha” test.

Suggested Improvements - Like the App. Only been wearing my hearing aids for 1.5 wks. Have to say I like having the app to help adjust the hearing aids in different situations. I am a tech person by profession. I like that you can control the volume for each HA, and control the treble and bass. I like that you can set "place" favorites. It makes going back and forth to work easy. I also like that there is a watch app available. I would like to see the following added or improved: 1. The ability to add favorites to the home screen. It would be nice to pick and choose which ones to add. This way when I go into a conference room with a small group, I don't have to do three steps to change the program. It would be nice to just open the app and have it there. 2. You should also add a widget. It should include your favorites. That would make it easier to change your programs too. 3. Add a battery indicator. It would be great to have one in the app, in the widget, and on the watch app. 4. Add favorites to the watch app too!

Great hearing aids. JimEcho. I purchased my LiNX 9 hearing aids about mid-November 2014 and my phone is an IPhone 6. The ReSound system is great. My personal hearing capability is poor (age 81), and my family history also has poor hearing. I really like the ability to adjust volume with my SMART phone app for each ear separately. I like the treble/bass controls. They are very useful in reducing noisy background sounds in restaurants, etc. I reduce the noise using the treble/bass filters even before anyone speaks. Understandability is greatly improved in noisy environments using the filters. Best of all, the phone transmission directly to the aids is super. The phone message volume is controlled by the iPhone volume controls. The background noise volume is controlled by the SMART app. This is a great way to handle phone calls in quiet or noisy environments. I do not dread talking on the phone because of personal hearing problems. Squeal is gone. The aids have improved the quality of my life. I have two friends that feel the same way. The volume, bass/treble and directivity can be controlled to maximise speech understanding.

Some frustration with streaming. I wish there was a way to set a preference for the streaming setting rather than it reverting back to the phone whenever another app makes a sound. It is frustrating to be watching TV and then have the sound cut out when an ad on the phone pops up or it makes some other noise. There is also no way to contact support or send a message. Your response did not help. The accessibility settings only allow you to choose for calls or media. It doesn’t allow you to choose for other phone app audio. And the choices are only esalways, never, or automatic. I don’t want to say never as I do wNt calls to have priority over media. I want media to have priority over other phone apps except for calls. I already read all the help/support info you cited and it doesn’t address this problem. I would like to have a way to chat, email, message, or call support in the app where it is easy to find. You do not understand. I don’t have any problems with notifications at all. I have them turned off. The problem is that when I’m streaming the tv audio to my hearing aids, I cannot use another app on my phone without the tv sound turning off. I can’t set it so that the tv audio will keep streaming regardless of whether I’m accessing another app on my phone. It always switches to the app audio and I have to close the app and reconnect to the tv audio to get it to come on again.

Seriously needs upgrade.... As a developer for Apple I am always running the latest version of iOS on my phones and generally beta versions as well. The last update to this application was 10 months ago. That means it’s seriously behind Apples latest operating system 11.1 not to mention 11.2 which will be released shortly. This application has become useless to me as it constantly quits and will no longer access my hearing aids. I did give it two stars instead of one in that I can reinstall it and it will work for a short time before it quits again. I hope the programmers read this post and take appropriate action soon. It has the potential of being a great app...

Has worked great for me!. I was replacing my old Oticon hearing aids and after reading all the bad reviews here, I was worried about trying Resound Lynx. Since there was a 45 day return period, I decided to give it a go. The hearing aids have been much better than my old ones and the app works great! I have experienced no real problems with the app, including after downloading the latest IOS update. The ability to Bluetooth my phone calls (without wearing another device) and the ability to stream music from my phone directly into my ears is wonderful! If I'm in the car and get a call, the cars Bluetooth fights with the app for control, but you can use the audio selection button on the phone to choose. I do wish there was an audio selection button for music. If I'm in the car and steam Apple Music from my phone, my hearing aids take over, and no one else in the car can hear the music unless I shut my Bluetooth off. Not a big deal. The separate demo app that Resound has to allow you to hear what to expect when you select different hearing modes overstates the improvement. There are improvements from changing modes (restaurant, auto, etc). Just not as great as demo'd and still much better than my other aids. As you can tell, I'm very happy with the app and the hearing aids. I think it helps if the doc you use also understands the iPhone so he or she can show you all the features and make practical suggestions on using the app.

Huge Saver!. I dropped my hearing aid between my home and the store. The SMART app immediately located it using the Finder option. I was amazed. Not only that, it helped me pinpoint the exact location once I got within BlueTooth range. There's no way I could have found it without this app. I'd have to replace the device at considerable cost. The other app functions that control the devices are certainly useful, but I use them infrequently. But this "Finder" feature is indespensible. Thank you ReSound for adding the Finder and for making it so reliable. BTW: works with my Apple watch too. Very handy for changing setting when in at the movies, in church, etc, when phones are a no-no.

New updates completely changed my hearing aid setting. Because of the new required update, my left hearing aid is now fluctuating everytime I walk into a new environment. My ReSound hearing aids have been the best aids I’ve had in my life, I’ve been wearing hearing aids for 37 years and now the hearing aid in the ear that I rely on the most is NOT WORKING. I tried updating to the most recent version, thinking this would solve this glitch but instead the app itself is stuck in “hearing aid connecting” mode and I can’t even use the app itself. Which controls all the functions of both my aids. My hearing is moderate to profound and has been since birth and the most recent updates have had a serious impact on how I interact in my daily life.

Needs update to support I-phone 7 & watch. When the app works it is very good but app crashes and/or is not linked preoperly with iphone 7. Also very slow to respond on watch when it does work. Many times when I view app most of setting info is greyed out so can't use features like wind noise in outdoor mode. It is to bad that the manufacture is slow to update. I am in a trial period with these new aids and may look at other manufactures to see if they are more up to speed on updates and reliability of features which are the big selling points for me. I want the features to work if I am going to upgrade from my current pair that are made by a differents manufacturer.

WHEN it works, it’s great. That’s the biggest challenge; it doesn’t always connect, and since I “upgraded” to the iPhone X, it now botches the handoff every time I get a phone call. I have to tell the caller to wait about 8 seconds until the app and the iPhone battle it out for supremacy. Eventually the app wins, and then it’s great. Today, the app says I’m no longer connected. Doesn’t work at all. Well, I am connected, and the iPhone sees this too. I can control all functions through the Accessibility settings, except mute. Ultimately, the only reason to get this app is if you want to mute the outside world and only listen to the sound from the iPhone. Otherwise, just use the Accessibility settings instead.

Pretty much ruined for the visually-impaired.. This “upgrade” has seriously impacted my life. I’m visually-impaired, and the older interface (on both my iPhone and Apple Watch) was much, much easier to use. The new interface is a nightmare; I can’t find most of the functionality I’m used to. It took me a long time to even figure out how to just find mute. As bad as this all is, the real problem is NO real support for VoiceOver. I could forgive the unnecessarily complex interface if VoiceOver worked. But it’s (at best) hit-or-miss. This, to me, is a serious lack for an assistive device. Right now, I’m more-or-less relying on the buttons on my hearing aids to do things like change modes. It’s slow and clumsy, but I can do it. Frankly, this is all a disappointment, especially coming from a company that makes such good products. It looks like they dropped usability in favor of “design” and fell flat as a result. I wish I hadn’t upgraded

Poor implementation and crashes. The Smart app should give access to both volume and bass/treble on the same screen. My hearing fluctuates and I need to recustomize my settings every couple of days. Also, the app will fail and crash every few weeks, and the only way to get it to work again is to delete it from the phone and redownload it again, and there is no way to recover the preset favorites, so they are completely lost and have to be reconfigured every time this happens. Also the redownloading requires a WiFi connection, so if it crashes when a WiFi connection is not available, you are out of luck and will not be able to control your hearing aids bass/treble at all which may leave you with unusable hearing.

Connectivity Cycles Continuously. Horrible connections - never can connect to both hearing aids at same time, goes through a “discover-connect-drop” cycle every few seconds. I realize the aids this version is intended for are seriously outdated, and I don’t think the app has been updated since iOS 13, but the Linx9 model 61 aids are my backup while the “good” ones get repaired and it worked just fine most of the time they were my primary. Towards the end it required cycling Bluetooth off and on again - then eventually just went to absolute crap. Probably has something to do with its iOS compatibility - it’s actually easier to use the built-in features of System -> Accessibility -> Hearing Devices. Don’t use this app unless you absolutely have to!
