Alarm control. If I was grading the alarm it would be a 1. It’s constantly going off and I refuse to carry my phone every minute of the day for life!! To kill high alarms I raised the alarm score to 300. I really would like it at 220 but without much sound control I feel trapped into using a bad number. The ability to now comment is huge and I am giving a 5 for that! Some are complaining that the meter is far off from a finger stick. Of course it is! The sensor is behind because it is reading your interstitial fluid and not your blood. The fluid reading can be 10 minutes behind your blood reading meaning the glucose just hasn’t arrived to the fluid yet. Be patient, it will arrive. IF you fix that horrible alarm I think most people will be happy. I really would like it if you had better notifications. I have looked for a phone app when I first got my Libre 2 but it didn’t exist. I allowed notifications. Today is March 2022, yet I see reviews going back as far as August 2021!?! So much for up-to-date notifications!

My first app store review! This app is awful!. First of all I want to say I’ve been using the abbot sensors since they were FDA approved. The basic product has changed my life for the better. That said, this app, it’s like it was coded by someone that wanted to do mental injury to all of the folks that need a solution like this. Since updating to V2, I now have to turn my phone off if I’m going to a meeting. If I’m on a phone call I can expect this app to disrupt the call an force me to apologize and hang up. This app as I’m writing this review has alerted me three times that it’s lost it’s bluetooth connection with the sensor. When it’s not alerting me about this, it posts up alerts about my blood sugar when I’ve just checked my sugar and “already know” it. It continues to alert incessantly if my sugar is flat but wavering near an alert threshold. It continues to alert over and over in the time frame where I’ve already taken action to fix a problem, but said corrective action could not possibly have had time to have had an impact. Lately, I’ve been turning off my phone at night because this app will not stop telling me about what I already know or it’s alerting me about something I don’t need to know. It’s not just me it’s f’ing with, its waking my wife up, it’s even waking my dog up, over and over again. This app is horrible. The developers working on this apps CTAs should be fired.

Bad Sensors. I’ve been using the system for 2 years. It is unreliable (inconsistent). When you get a sketchy sensor (and you will) it will continuously alert you with an “urgent” condition. In my case, it is under reporting my glucose (50s) every half hour when malfunctioning. Day or night. This has happened with a fresh sensor out of the box AND one that seems to work at first, then degrades. Is it quality control? Yes. Is it annoying? Yes. Be ready to be inconvenienced with this product. I will be reading reviews on Dexcom for comparison. Additional comment: July 2 Being offered a replacement sensor is not a solution when experiencing faults on average every 3rd or 4th sensor (over 2 years, I’ve had as many as 3 consecutive sensors fail prior to the 2 week interval). Successfully getting to a phone agent, playing 20 questions, and returning faulty sensor after faulty sensor is also inconvenient. Lack of monitoring controls where the manufacturer collects and analyses failure data and contacts the customer after multiple events demonstrates apathy and lack of a solution. I hope Abbott figures out the issue but until then, BUYER BEWARE.

This app is the most stressful app on my phone. The app sends the most annoying reminders possible at inconvenient times with no option to turn it off. Incredibly inconvenient, unsilencable. I just pray it doesn’t act up in a moment where I can’t immediately respond. Edit: I’ve found ways to turn off most of these notifications and therefore can sleep through the night (most of the time) without random alarms going off. However the app continues to be a source of pain for me: it crashed today with no message about why, the app had to be deleted and redownloaded, it took me through a long process which I’ve already been through several times of making sure I’ve read my hipaa, and then ut asked me to make an account, no option tonsign into the one I already have and skip the hassle in the middle until way later: then they account I signed into no longer recognized that I had a monitor in at all, so I had to start a new one. Thirty minutes of trouble shooting later and now I had to waste a perfectly good sensor. Could have been done in 5 without the waste if the app was developed correctly.

I’m upset.. If there was a 0 star option. I would have used it. I liked the first version ok. I kept having problems with the sensor being knocked off my arm bumping into a door, having my son climbing on me but the phone app was helpful. I’m not covered by insurance but I’m a nurse and having finger sticks at work is a portal to infection so the cost seemed worth it… mostly. I never bothered to have the sensors replaced. I just did finger sticks when the sensor came off or malfunctioned- twice within 2 days :-/. Now with the Libre 2… it won’t even work! I called the hard-to find on the box number and got two people after 2 calls neither of which could hear me through the static. The connection was clear as a bell on the menu line. I’m irritated and angry. BTW, I also got woken up several times last night. Get it together please! Update, I called a total of 4 times. The company refused to offer me a refund despite my out of pocket 75$ a month and 2 failed sensors back to back. They offered me a replacement but neither of the previous 2 worked. They also refused to listen to my complaints and instead, punted me to an automated message like a hang up several times. Product is a thumbs down, so is a thumbs down and customer service is a huge thumbs down. NEVER using again. Worst experience EVER.

Better than finger sticks but has some use issues. First of all, I get this free through my insurance plan. We used to get Dexcom so keep that in mind while I complain. There are 2 big issues I have. First, I have to scan it every 8 hours, ok I’m getting used to that but it doesn’t always read even when I do scan, without fail in the middle of the night it has blank spots. Which brings up the second issue. When you’re looking at your levels in the app, they’re all mushed together & you can only see the graph, not the actual numbers. I can hardly tell what time I’m looking at let alone see what the number is. I don’t like that I can’t change the setup to show me specific times with specific numbers. I want to see how foods are affecting my levels, can’t do that unless I scan it every few minutes to see the actual numbers. The Dexcom app would let you scroll back to see what your number was at any point in the past 24 hours. And I never had to be a contortionist to get my levels. So maybe the first isn’t an app issue but it’s still an issue with the system.

Needs a timer option. The alarms do exactly what they are supposed to, they let me know when my sugar is out of range. That is fantastic for the middle of the night as it has caught my sugar going low earlier than when I wait to feel the low sugar symptoms . I do like that you can decide at what numbers you get an alarm too, as everyone’s needs are different. That said, the alarms are not consistent. There will be times that it just doesn’t pick up on the fact that my sugar is going high or low and won’t give me any notice. And I am within range of my phone. On the opposite end of that, once I get an alert, even after checking my sugar, the alarm continues to go off every 3 to 4 minutes. That is too much. It does take time for my sugar to correct itself, whether up or down. Please please please make some sort of feature that allows me to select how long until it gives me an alarm again. Maybe after a high sugar reading, an option can pop up with “don’t alarm me again for 45 minutes or an hour” or whatever time frame, the person chooses. That would be so helpful and make this app a million times better, less obnoxious, and make me feel like someone on the team of creators actually understands how diabetes works.

Better than expected. I see a lot of complaints about the very loud and intrusive alarm. As an Uber driver, that was a deal breaker for me, too, but I’ve found my workaround. If you go (on an iPhone) Into Settings/Notifications/Libre2/ Critical Alerts, you can temporarily turn them off. I get that it’s there to help people not go into critical blood sugar events, but jobs are jobs. I also have to turn off Bluetooth when driving since if it is on, all apps quit “talking” and I miss driving prompts. So, I scan, turn off critical alerts, turn off Bluetooth, drive a ride or two, turn them back on, and scan again. The prompts still quietly appear on the screen. I’d prefer a one step Work or Drive mode that does that for me, but maybe it can be considered for future upgrades. Despite that, it’s useful, much more practical than the handheld device, and allows my clinicians to see my data in real time for med corrections. I also don’t have always be at my desktop and uploading the meter (and charging the meter) so I love the convenience of that. Overall? I’m confident my next A1C is going to be significantly better thanks to the information this app constantly provides.

Not great but pros outweigh cons. Been using Freestyle Libre 2 since app became available on iOS (about 2 years at this point in time). Once I got over the seemingly random differences between finger stick readings and individual sensors, I stopped trying to reconcile and just went with the sensor readings. Just assume +-20 and move on. Pros: correlating diet with glucose helps with weight control; much better visibility for insulin dosing decisions; much better understanding of hyper/hypo symptoms and causes. Cons: awful user interface - clumsy navigation; painfully unresponsive when recording numbers and comments; annoying frequency of read errors; technical issue of prioritizing wireless communication over user keystrokes; and the one everyone hates: super loud alarm! On balance, pros outweigh cons. Just power off your phone in that concert hall. Once you get used to the freckles and warts you’ll never go back to finger sticks. But hey Abbott, Get some insulin dependent diabetics on the UI development team and make them use their product. It’ll get better.

Dangerous. This is a terrible, and honestly dangerously malfunctioning app. Last year I wrote a review and I’m about to pretty much repeat it because it’s only gotten worse :\ This app gives completely false alerts (that don’t even show up in the data later!!), both high and low glucose, that prompt me to treat with insulin or food. Almost every day there are at least 2 false alerts, some days I’ve had as many as 5. After it yells (beeps) at me and says URGENT LOW GLUCOSE 65, I eat a candy, in ten minutes low and behold when I scan again my sugar is over 200 because I was never low in the first place. Similarly, I’ll get an alert HIGH GLUCOSE 215, give myself insulin, and within a few minutes I’m sweaty and weak and experiencing actual dangerously low glucose. I don’t understand the point of this product and app if I still have to poke my finger/manually check my blood sugar every time because I can’t trust this dang thing. :( I’m about to switch to DEXCOM, hopefully won’t have the same problems. I wouldn’t recommend Freestyle Libre 2 to anyone or their enemy.

Freestyle libre is not compatible with latest update of iPhone. Use a Dexcom!!! You absolute cannot use free style libre, two or three with the latest Apple iOS update of 16.3.1 or the newest model of iPhone. I have been through four sensors in the past week and a half and every single one stops reading and says to change the sensor. Finally after hours on the phone with freestyle libre they admitted that their sensors do not work with any of the new iOS updates. They treated me as if it was user error until I got one honest phone representative to tell me that the libre‘s do not work with the newest iOS for Apple. I updated my phone two weeks ago. I have used freestyle libre for five years and now can no longer use it in conjunction with my phone for a reader. I asked them to provide me with a reader, since they do not have the new software available. Freestyle libre I said they wouldn’t and now I have to buy a reader. Do not update your phone if you wish to use free style libre. Or if you have a new phone or the latest Apple iOS version use Dexcom.

Needs this feature added. I have not had the opportunity to use the Libre 2 yet, I’m waiting on my next Doctors appt so he can write the RX for it. But I’ve been using the Libre 14 day for a long time now, so this isn’t so much a review but more of an observation and a recommendation. The app needs to work on the Apple Watch in conjunction with the iPhone. The previous reviewer complained about not being able to hear the alerts. If a user could get those alerts on their Apple Watch either by sound or vibration it would be very beneficial. My iPhone pretty much lives in my back pocket or a cargo pocket on my leg and there have been many times even with the loudest alerts I would have missed a call or text if it hadn’t been for me wearing my Apple Watch. So from a longtime Libre user and future Libre 2 user please develop an update that allows the Apple Watch to display the information the phone is receiving from the sensor. I promise you customers will love it.

Just ok. I got a free sample voucher to try it out so I asked my endocrinologist to write me a prescription. I’ve been using my original FreeStyle for over a year now. I’m about 5 days in and I don’t think I would use this version. I’ve had at least three instances of the scan not being available - it tells me to try again in 10 minutes. But when I re-scan after 10 or even 20 minutes I still get the error. I was able to fiddle with the alarms because they are quite loud but the low alarm is not able to be disabled at all (I totally understand why - that’s the whole point of the monitor). The app must be running in the background at all times which isn’t workable for me as it drains the battery on my phone after just a few hours. The FreeStyle 2 is also not covered by my insurance, so I can’t justify the extra expensive on my limited budget for a monitor that seems a little unreliable for me. I think the concept is great but this just wouldn’t really work for my lifestyle. I’m perfectly happy with the FreeStyle 1.0 and feel it has been reliable and mostly accurate.

It’s okayyy, but would love to see some better features.. I have been using this for over a year and a half now and I can safely say this is just ok. I was expecting a true CGM…not one where I have to constantly scan to get what I feel is accurate data. The lows and highs definitely work, but other than that scan, if you don’t frequently scan, you really don’t have a lot of data to work with like what I am seeing in the Dexcom G6 app and talking to a couple of Dexcom users that tell me they don’t have to constantly scan because the sensor sends its data points every 5 minutes on its own. Plus, they have an Apple Watch app and Lock Screen/Siri integration that would be really really convenient since I use both. I’m not dumping it yet, but I am really looking at both feature sets to see which sensor system I want. It would be great if Abbott would have their software developers integrate some of the capabilities like contact polling the sensor by the app on its own and Apple Watch/Siri integration. That would make it a home run in my book.

Inaccuracy and alarm. I agree with the other review! This alarm system is absolutely ridiculous and it needs a way to turn off all alarms and to do it quickly !!! It’s embarrassing! My biggest complaint is that the Libre 2 is so inaccurate! My husband asks why would you pay that kind of money to get an item that is so inaccurate! I ripped it off my arm and have decided at least for now not to wear a Libre at all. I wore the original one and it had some inaccuracies, but they were nothing compared to the Libre 2. I spend a lot of money each month purchasing these and I have to drive about 28 miles to get it where it’s the cheapest bc no insurance pays for them! Abbott really needs to fix these or take them off the market…it’s that bad! I tried one again this week and my readings were about 78 digits off!! That’s enough to be serious! I was woke up during the night, and so was my husband even with selecting the quietest alarm, about 2-4 times every night! This is so old and tiresome to keep happening! Abbott! Please correct your problems and refund your customers! This is getting really old! Your product stinks!

App doesn’t function consistently. Any time I go to scan I get a message saying that the scan failed and to try again. When this happens I have to scan at least 5-6 times until it either reads or tells me to wait 10 minutes, with it even happening directly after I receive an alarm. With the Freestyle 14 day it would successfully scan 95% of the time. This issue has occurred across multiple sensors, so I believe it to be an issue with the app. I’m on the iPhone 14 pro with latest iOS so I assume it’s a compatibility issue, but it’s been a couple of months since I’ve started using it without any improvement. Another issue is the max reading, on the previous version it would go to 500 before simply starting high, but this has been lowered to 400. While infrequent, this makes it difficult to determine the correct dose when I’m running high. Otherwise it’s a decent sensor, with it being Bluetooth I was under the impression that it would continuously send data rather than just setting off alarms but I can live with it.

0 STARS - ALARMS ARE GARBAGE. CHANGE THE ALARMS FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY. I couldn’t agree more with the majority of the reviews here - WE DON’T NEED YOU TO FORCE UNBEARABLY LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS ALARMS ON US. Like, the whole point of things like this is to give us more control, not less. Change the alarms. Make them customizable for every situation - I don’t want this thing going off in church or a movie theater or the grocery store (really anywhere, but hopefully this gets the point across) - make it so we can still receive notifications but they don’t have to be audible and/or vibrating, depending on the situations’ needs. I was honestly so excited because this is the kind of freedom I crave with my diabetes - I am so much more capable of taking care of my diabetes when there’s freedom and simplicity and accessibility. But these alarms are straight garbage. I’d rather go back to stabbing myself 4-5 times a day. FIX IT. If you fix the alarms and make it so that I get to choose when and how the alarms go off, and also set the boundaries for when they trigger, this app will jump up to 5 stars easy. Don’t be like every other app developer - actually listen to the feedback you’re getting and fix it. It’s very simple. Pretty please.

Could use an update. I love the convenience of checking my blood sugar with my phone and not having to carry the separate reader anymore. Although the app has been lagging recently and I have to wait about 15 seconds before I can hit any buttons on it or check my sugar. The “urgent” alarms can be very annoying too and I wish you could customize these better. I like that it alarms me when my blood sugar is 55 but the fact that it has to alarm me every 5 minutes about it can be annoying since you’re suppose to eat 15 carbs then recheck 15 minutes later. It’s very loud, annoying and has been waking my newborn since I can’t adjust this alarm anyhow And no, I will not be contacting Abbott support. If this app is getting this many repetitive reviews stating/complaining of the same issue then it’s clear what the issue here is. Make the alarms completely customizable in the app as they are with the reader. This is not an Abbott issue as it is an app issue

Fix the alarms!!. So being a DT1 for over 20 years I’m all for the sensors and this does help keep track of your blood sugars. The worst part of the app which makes me not want to use the sensors are the alarms. You can’t turn them off unless you disable your Bluetooth. Here’s the thing, if I get an alarm letting me know my blood sugar is high, I’ll give myself the corrected dose..however, the alarm will keep going off every 5 min as if your blood sugars can go from 250 within range in just a matter of minutes. Same as to when it goes low. I wish there was an option after getting the alarm to have a setting saying, yes I delivered insulin..so that it knows and can check again in the appropriate time. Or even better, if th sensor learned your body well and knew how much insulin you should administer yourself at a certain number. This is my only gripe about the app. Makes me want to rip my sensor off and go back to the old fashioned way.

Mixed feelings. There is a large chunk of time where I had zero issues with this product. Mainly the liber 14. But recently I had to take off two and one the adhesive failed. So 3 in the span of a month that were faulty. The first one was a faulty adhesive. The second wouldn’t even scan (which is the one they sent me as a replacement). And now the third is constantly running low blood sugars. It’s getting tiring having to worry about what my blood sugar is and I hate the finger pricks. I don’t mind an alarm that says high or low. I think that’s an important thing to know but only if it’s true! I like the idea of a product that monitors my blood sugars so I don’t have to worry so much but now I’m wondering if it’s actually accurate or not. These things aren’t cheap and when I have to wait 5 days 3 times! To get a new sensor I have to pay out of pocket for a bunch of test strips. The app also doesn’t work very well. It’s glitchy and will just disconnect randomly even though my phone is close by. I’m getting tired of it all.

Laggy and disappointing. I’ve been a Libre user for a long time, but the Libre 2 is a huge disappointment. For credit, Libre 1 worked flawlessly, although didn’t have alarms and require scanning anytime you need a reading. Libre 2 added alarms at cost of speed and reliability. 20% of scans result in “error” asking to re-scan 10 min later. Scans that do come through take ~10seconds to appear while the app becomes unresponsive and creates a feeling it’s crashed. The bright white UI is annoying, that goes for all versions of the app. Has anybody thought that I may check my sugar in a theater or at night w/o lighting up entire room? And while while my phone is in dark mode with low brightness it’s still bright white. Alarms are annoying and not customizable. When an alarm goes off it cannot be dismissed until you take another scan. Anybody thought of customizable reminders??? High sugar alarm is disturbing, while the low sugar alarm is subtle and harder to notice. It should be vise-versa. Better I would want to make my own selection of alarms for different events.

Sick to death!. Sick to death of the app stopped warning screaming at me every time I shut it down. This app eats battery like I had a bunch more. I have an iPhone 14 Pro and used to charge it every other day. Now I have to charge it at least every day and sometimes twice a day. Only since the Libre 2 app was put in. I do not need all these warning I use the app to check my blood sugar very regularly. I don’t need it to check for highs or Lowe’s. Not to mention eat my battery like it was Candy. Should have stayed with the 14 day. I am also very tired of getting sensor error or sensor not ready or just going back to the original screen saying hold the top of the phone by the sensor to take the reading when I just finished doing that. Compared to the freestyle. 14 day sensor is these are very unreliable. Also, getting fed up with the constant sensor error messages. Earlier today I had to try four times to get a reading out of this stupid thing. Unacceptable behavior. Fix that critical warning. I shut the thing down purposely and I’m tired of being told the app is shut down when I just purposely shut it down.

If I hear one more beep!. Update: I discovered that I can deactivate alarms such as the lost connection in the app. This make me much happier. As a type II diabetic that is controlled via meds, and exercise, please give the ability to silence the sounds in the notifications. I can make the change in the os but it giver error notices in the app. Since I’m not needing to adjust insulin I don’t require the urgency. This app is obnoxious. I was switched to Libre 2 from a Dexacom. This app will notify you into the ground. Coworker were pretty ticked off when I left my phone at the desk when I went into a meeting and it started beeping and beeping and beeping and beeping, because it lost contact. If you go into the settings and turn critical notifications off, it beeps to tell you the critical notifications are off. If you turn off all notifications it beeps to tell you to tell you that all notifications are off and it won’t let you use the app unless you turn them back on. Literally no readings until you turn it back on. Even if notifications are on silent IT STILL BEEPS. I thought the idea was to make it easier to monitor your blood sugar, not to make you want to ripe the sensor off your arm and smash it with a hammer! It’s seems this has been a long term issue that has been ignored.

Please update app so current version of Apple iOS works. I have been using this system now for almost 2 months. It’s been great being able to figure out what spikes my blood sugar and track the highs and lows. Now suddenly the app is not working with a new sensor. Worked for 3 scans, up until bed time, including scan new sensor. So new sensor was working. And then it was not. Received numerous critical alerts that I had lost connection, waking me up every half hour. It would not take the scans. Then I started getting error messages saying to remove replace sensor. After a sleepless night, called customer service this am, and was told that this system is working unpredictably with the apple iPhone systems current IOS. And that they weren’t sure when there would be an update, they can’t be expected to keep up with Apple’s current versions. I thought this system was designed for iPhones and androids? They are sending a new sensor, but what is the point if it’s not going to work with the current iPhone???? What a waste.

Honestly Irresponsible. I have had such issues with this system lately. I get jarred from my sleep by the ridiculous alarm saying my sugar is low. By the time I get up and walk to the kitchen it has gone up 40-50 points without having done anything. It took me weeks to understand why I was waking up in the morning with high sugars—it’s because I was treating lows that didn’t even exist. I understand that these don’t use capillary blood like our monitors so they won’t always line up perfectly but it should not vary 40-50 points in less than 3 minutes. It sends me into a panic because I think my sugar is dropping so I eat something or I’ll think it’s skyrocketing so I’ll take a shot only to end up actually crashing when my sugar was just fine. It’s honestly a very dangerous system because it’s reporting large false drops and rises. I end up having to poke my finger all day long so, really, what’s the point of this system at all? And, no, customer service is of no help. There are so many bad reviews and experiences similar to mine but all Abbot customer service ever does is send more glitchy sensors out instead of fixing an actual problem.

Great device. Horrible app. You’re not developers. You’re administrative staff responding to these posts. All of your answers are the same…call our customer support team. Nothing changes and that’s why your app is getting negative reviews. I suggest that other users write a letter or email to the CEO of Abbott. That’s the only way to possibly get action. Senior leaders should occasionally glance at posts if they truly care about customers. To the developers: please answer the questions directly rather than telling us to call your support team. Nothing changes when we do. This app is your Achilles heel. The list view is most critical when seeing doctor. Just give us an easy one tap to get to the complete chronological list. Doctors don’t have time to swipe through to each day. They want one master list with all days so they can scroll down. Secondly, make it easier for those with visual impairments, a common problem with diabetics. Give us a big button to press to take readings. If you folks are truly developers, take ownership of the app and get problems corrected. Customer care isn’t doing it.

Freestyle libra 2. My first time trying the freestyle 2, i recieved 6 from walmart, first 2 were bad so i called customer service and they mailed me 2 new ones right away after troubleshooting no issues, great customer service. Now as far as the ap i think its great to be able to monitor your glucose anytime any where, but 1 Yes there need to be a turn off function when u dont want to disturb anyone while u r in meetings or your wife while shes at the doctors office getting physical and her phones screaming because my sugars low (connected users u can have moniter from there phone as well) ive noticed there are differnt readings on my glucose monitor verses blood glucose, sensor is saying 68 and blood glucose is 114. So that being said the ap is false reading the sensor and waking myself and my wife up several times a night to where i just shut phone off. So please put a silent mode or turn off on it. I love this product and has saved my life several times sience the first one came out and highly recommend it.

Loved the app in the former version. This is crazy! The old sensors are discontinued, so I had to get the new one. I thought the problems I read in the other reviews were probably not going to be an issue because my sugar is pretty stable. No hi-low alarms for me… well I hate to say that alarm still goes off randomly and at the most inopportune times! I was in a meeting and got a little too far away from my phone. By the time I got to get into the app and stop it, the alarm had gone off 4 times! And when I use the word alarm, I mean it. It is very loud, ear-piercing and startling, not just annoying. That’s great if it’s saving somebody’s life, but utterly ridiculous for me at this point. That being said, in setting you can (supposedly) shut off the alarm for when your Bluetooth cannot connect, like when you’re too far from your phone. So I did that, but it still alarms sometimes for no good reason. No trouble with my sugar, and no identifiable reason for an alarm. !_! Problem is, I’m stuck. At least for the month, since I already paid for two new sensors. And one more thing, this one is reading consistently higher than the other one did, and I have not changed my very strict diet. I know it’s not accurate enough to make treatment decisions based on this sensor, but it’s still disturbing. We’ll see what my next blood test says. In the meantime I just keep using this sensor and hope it doesn’t startle me into having a wreck while driving. RANT OVER

Better them the old reviews!. Been using it for a month. Was initially disappointed to read old reviews. Clearly they have made great improvements via updates. I have not had any significant issues with the App on a IPhone Pro Max 13. My reads are great and take them as often as needed or wanted. It is the best historical and accurate data that is available on the app and available for my Dr and NP to access. It has already removed some guesswork in treatments leading to better dosing of insulin. Easy to spot and see the data in ways I have never seen before. My average daily/weekly glucose is down 13 and I have lost 3 pounds in 30 days by eating better and not chasing my numbers. The alarms do as they should in alerting high but more importantly low for those with hypoglycemic unawareness. It is a blessing to wake up in the middle of night when going low and no longer becoming altered and unsafe. I give it a 5 vs a 4 because of the true benefits and knowing mfg will continue to improve. I am feeling better, am much safer and finally able to take greater control in managing my diabetes.

Can do better!!!. I have been using Libre2 for a good while and I like what it does (keeping track of my sugar levels). I do think it can be better though. I have noticed that my sugar level readings are about 30-40 points higher on the Libre2 than when I do a finger stick check. I don’t know which readings to believe. I don’t know if it is due to the sensor not being calibrated correctly or what so I monitor myself very often just to make sure using both (Libre2 and finger sticks). I also notice that the signal gets lost a lot and I’m constantly beeping with alarms even though my device is always next to me to monitor myself as stated earlier. Im not saying that I hate it but I do think these things need fixing or need to be addressed so that it can be accurate in case my doctors need to change something if needed. I like that my physicians can monitor my readings but they have told me it does make it hard for them to adjust medications due to having different readings and not knowing which one is correct. I also like that it provides me with many options to input times for food, medication administration, etc. Other than that, I do like Libre2. I hope it can get better with these issues I deal with.

Lacks compatibility with Health app. While the basic features of the app seem quite useful there are some glaring limitations and a lack of protection of the data that I am a little concerned about. First the app does not integrate well with the rest of the Apple health ecosystem. In particular, it does not share data with the health app which is the centralized repository for all health information within the Apple system. I also noticed that it is not well integrated with the login keychain and other standard Apple iOS services. For example I could not do automatic password generation and it’s not clear to me if the app actually integrates with face ID or touch ID. As far as data protection is concerned, the app requires that data be shared with Abbott Laboratories. If Abbott Laboratories was bound by HIPAA compliance I would have less of an issue, however Abbet is not a healthcare provider and thus the requirements of patient data confidentiality do not apply, nor will they apply to your data that Abbet receives. Reading the terms of the license agreement it appears that Abbet will collect and share information collected by the application with third parties. They do claim to anonymize your data.

It’s so inaccurate. I am a new diabetic and my dr ordered my the Libre 3 and the first 2 worked great but then it started reading every test in the high 50s or 60s and the low blood sugar alarm kept going off every few minutes. I was instructed to take off my sensor and insert a new one. I did and it worked fine for a few days then started the same thing. The problem is my insurance won’t cover for more sensors until next month and Medicare won’t cover the Libre 3s at all yet. So my dr called in the Libre 2 for me and I am having the same issues. It works great for about 6 days. Running approximately the same blood sugars as my finger stick monitor but then it starts reading all my blood sugars as low, singling the alarms to start going off and it always seems to start in the middle of the night! These sensors are amazing and make my life so much easier for a week before they start giving false readings. So either make them to where they have to be changed weekly or fix the problem of inaccurate readings!! This is a huge issue when your life depends on the numbers you are getting!!

What a waste of money. I’ve been using these sensors now for 3 months. The first 2 months, were horrible. Off by 50 points most of the time. I found myself poking my finger almost as much as before the sensors. Calling customer service just had their rep telling me it’s normal to be off that much. The low alarms send you into a panic. But I poke my finger and I’m not low. The app has glitches in it and I keep hoping that they will fix them. I click scan at least 5 times before it actually brings up the scan screen, and then it will scan, and not alert, so I keep trying to scan and the scan screen is still up but my number is already showing. And then other times it just keeps showing a scan error. Customer care acts like I’m stupid and don’t know how diabetes works. If I’m 30 points lower than normal and my alarm doesn’t go off it can be devastating. It takes about 24 hours for the sensors to work properly, and then the last 24 hours it’s a gamble if it’s correct either. Lots of finger sticks. So is it really worth the hassle? I’ve already contacted customer service multiple times only to be told it’s working properly.

Terrible App. This device measures interstitial fluid under your skin which means it’s roughly 5 to 15 minutes behind your blood glucose, although in most cases the readings should be reasonably close. It also shows if you’re trending up, down, or maintaining level. Problem for me after ten days of use is that it has been as close as 45 less than my blood sugar meter and as far off as 95 less than my blood sugar. It has never been higher or even remotely close. The alarms have been relentless, waking me in the night, and upsetting because I have never had any low blood sugar symptoms when they’ve gone off. There is no way to silence the alarm or lower the volume. Sound is completely unnecessary for me as my smartwatch vibrates and alerts me, and I don’t appreciate loud false alarms in the grocery store, workplace, or while sleeping. An alarm also goes off if you get more than 20 feet away from your phone. If you disable the critical low alert, the app refuses to give you any reading. Currently I’m enabling the alerts, taking a reading, and disabling them so I don’t have to deal with it. If this continues when I change discs that will be the end of my experience with this technology.

Need Versatility for Scanning. I (like many other reviewers) am very disappointed not to have the versatility to scan with either the reader or the iPhone. With the Libre 14 day at night (I hope the Libre 3 will be easier for night use.) I kept the reader under my pillow and scanned as needed without having to wake up fully. (I have wished for a night screen dimmer, but otherwise it worked fine.) Now for a night reading I would have to unlock my phone, open the app and then scan. Unless I have missed where you can set something up to scan from the lock-screen. I understand that one or the other would probably need to be the primary source for alarms but I don’t think that should inhibit being able to get a reading with an additional device. If the data is similar to that of the 14 day, I found the app’s data much more comprehensive and easier to use. The reader is a clunky piece of equipment for this day and age. Adequate but cheaply designed. We use these devices multiple times constantly for years and I think there could be a more modern system.

Unstable, constant signal loss / alarms going off. In theory this should be a no brainer opportunity for Abbott to provide an exceptional app experience for wearers of CGMs. Unfortunately the app falls short. 1. 3-4 different apps for different sensors? That makes absolutely no sense. Have one app that can read old and new sensors. And regularly update that app with fixes/updates, rather than do that every 6 months. 2. Freestyle Libre2 app is unstable depending on iOS version. Installing on iOS 15.6 iOS with security update results in a warning that app is not supported. On IOS 16 - the app is bricked - it does not work - but, interestingly freestyle Libre3 app works fine - too bad it isn’t compatible with the Freestyle Libre2 sensor. (Per point 1) 3. Alarms - for whatever reason sensor can be super finicky. Every time I go for a ride on my bike I get alarms that my sensor is out of range (it’s literally on my body). These alarms are incredibly relentless - you have to stop, sync the sensor, and continue on your merry way. There needs to be a way for the app to work without alarms. (I’ve tried to turn them off but you get warnings). Some people are fine with their own monitoring - they’re just looking for an app that reads vs alarms. Finally - in case the developer suggests I call customer service - I’ve done that already. I’ve logged my issues and expected a call back from tech support last week (within 48 hrs) and haven’t heard anything. It’s been 5 days…

Such a bait and switch….. This whole change over was supposed to be better for me since I have frequent lows and the alarmed seemed to be the smartest idea. I’m coming from the freestyle libre 14 day. You start your sensor with the reader and enjoy the convenience of using your phone. It was great- since my fiancé likes to check me while I’m sleeping to see what my levels are since it didn’t have any alerts. So, I got the freestyle 2 thinking it’s going to work the same way- that you’ll be able to turn on alerts on your phone and off on your reader- since everything else is described as the same. Nope. You have to use the reader OR you have to use the app- you can’t use both like you could with the 14 day. This ACTUALLY makes me want to dump the 2 since getting alerts only on the the reader is useless to me. It’s better for me to get it on my phone where it bumps the alert to my watch than to have to listen for the reader, which isn’t always within ears shot. I was hoping Abbott now has it together and was going to be ideal for my situation. Well, now it’s looking like I’m going to have to spend MORE money and switch to the dexcom (even though I hate the idea of it on my stomach). Now, I’m heading the libre 3- is cell phone only- no reader…. I think only having to carry one device for CGM, glucose and ketones. I’m very disappointed. I wish they’d been transparent about this and where’s misrepresenting it.

Nutrisense has a better product. I have tried the two different product apps. Nutrisense uses the same freestyle Libre 2 14 day sensors but charges money to use the app. The Nutrisense app is comparatively better than the Freestyle Libre app. One with the Nutrisense app it doesn’t have to stay open in the background to track your glucose. Second, it doesn’t send you critical alerts when the app is malfunctioning which the freestyle Libre app is accustomed to doing throughout the day for no apparent reason. I have requested that the freestyle Libre app not send critical alerts but you cannot use the Freestyle Libre app if the critical alerts aren’t turned on which negates the reasoning for using the app to keep track of my glucose because most of the time you get a critical alert from the app it isn’t correct anyway. With the Nutrisense app you can also calibrate the sensor on the app to be closer to your glucose range when it may be reading a bit off. My question would be why is another app made for the freestyle Libre product working better for consumer? Follow the money…

Poor Tech…developers seem not to care!. I was forced to switch from the original FreeStyle 14 day because ai was told by Walgreens they discontinued it! Now I get new prescription and pay for new reader and new scanner. Start using it and find that I can’t use my iPhone to scan once I use their reader to start new unit! 😩 I have to wait 14 days to start a new unit with iPhone if I want to use phone to check numbers! What a scam! There is nothing FreeStyle about this. It’s simple tech that the old v1 used. They should be warning to not buy the reader because it’s a waste of time for every person that wants to use their cell to check numbers! Can’t wait til they discontinue this version and force all to buy the Libre 3! I’ll expect them to respond with their auto response to call them at a number that goes to a black hole and no one cares that I need to carry a crappy reader for the next 14 days! BE AWARE and don’t buy the reader if you live in 2022 and have a cell! UPDATE: it only got worse. So I decide to take off the sensor a week early so I could start a new one with my iPhone…what a waste the alarm sounds every time you walk away from your phone. You can turn it off but that also turns off the function of scanning with a phone. Now I have to Gogo settings EVERY time I want to scan and turn the alarm off and on. COME ON…very LAZY DEVELOPMENT l! Will it use after this one expires. Freestyle 2 is pure trash!!!

The alarms are pitiful. I don’t know why but for some reason my pharmacy just gave me this one randomly. However, i despise it. i enjoy certain features like the how it will tell you trends and continuously monitor your blood sugar. But the low blood sugar alarms are horrendous. They are extremely loud, you can’t turn them off, unless you go to your notification settings, but then once you do turn them off, you can’t use the app. I have no idea why there hasn’t been a change to this or why this was even implemented into the app. But it has gotten to a point where i believe the first generation sensors are 100x better than the second generation sensors, just because of this one issue. it will go off during exams, or in class, or when i’m trying to sleep, or in a movie theater, etc. PLEASE add an option to turn them off, while allowing me to still use the app. Ik it may be an issue for others, BUT I CAN TELL WHEN MY BLOOD SUGAR IS LOW. It also does the alarm when it disconnects via bluetooth. It rlly shouldn’t be this big of an issue to the point where almost every review i see complains about it. JUST FIX IT. there is no need to contact you or follow up, just listen to the ppl that use it, and fix the issue.

Please don’t give a cookie cutter response. Update to iOS 16 please.. Update: July 20, still no update to the app. I really have a hard time wrapping my head around such a mission critical app for millions of people who’s quality of life is directly influenced by this app and there’s been -0- updates to it for months and months now. Terrible. For both the experience of the user and for the reputation of Abbott. If you have the choice don’t use the Libre 2 system. They don’t care about you, why should you for them? No need to give the usual “Please call so we can help you” response like you have previously for this exact posting. There is no helping this. Please update your ancient app so that it works with iOS 16. You have to do this soon or millions of us won’t be able to use your system. You have a 2.1 rating. That’s TERRIBLE! This is a quality of life product. Please have it updated, or hire someone who can get it running better, and updated to the iOS that will be released soon. You’ve had 1(!) very incremental update in the near year since it’s original release. Or we will be forced to go to your competition.

Needs Improvement. This app is supposed to help improve my blood sugar by constantly monitoring it, but it actually makes it worse. Let me tell you why. Unless you turn the sensoring off all together, it would obnoxiously allow. I understand it’s for my health, but I can not have this thing beeping and going off so annoyingly all the time. I have work, I go to church, I need to sleep. There are lots of places where I can’t just have this thing beeping. You do realize that if I’m high, and I do a correction it takes time for my blood sugar to come back up. But it’ll keep going off, it’ll keep saying I’m high even though I already corrected it. So I just turn it off and then forget to turn it on and miss being more accurate in my blood sugar because this thing is so annoying. Me and both my 2 diabetic friends have talked about it, we all turn it off until we need to test again. If I got a nice silent notification that my blood sugar is high, I would correct it. Vs not knowing at all for an extra 3 hours because I turned it off. There NEEDS to be a setting to turn off the sound and still get notifications. Stop trying to control us so much that this thing has to beep so loud and so obnoxiously when we’re not in target and just make it like a text message so we can choose wether it’s completely silent, vibrates, or alarms. Because I promise you’re doing more harm than help.

Freestyle Libre 2 Readings. Had my Freestyle Libre for a little over a month now and was very happy to finally get it. I first used it with the reader and my numbers were very close to my finger sticks…1 or 2 point difference. Second 14 days, I decided to try the app on my phone as there is greater functionality with the app in tracking and inputting information. Meter reading were 30-35 points off from in comparison to finger stick so I discarded the disk and tried another thinking the disk was defective. On second disk, readings were still 30-35 points off from compatible finger sticks so I removed the disk again and started back using the reader. When I went to fill my rx again, it was a challenge getting the replacement disks as I was told it was too soon to fill them. I like the app, but the readings made it difficult to truly know my blood sugar readings and even more difficult to get the disks I discarded replaced. In looking at other forums on the web it appears that off readings is consistent when using the app with some other users. As a note, I used each disk for 3 days prior to removing them. Directions state to track with stick readings for the first 12hrs to ensure accuracy, but my incorrect readings lasted longer than that. Took screenshots as proof of the off readings as a backup.

Not Very Helpful; Could Be Vastly Improved. It seems that the designers of this app don’t understand the needs of diabetics. The graphs are too small and can’t be zoomed or enlarged enough to see a clear pattern. If it was enlarged I could see that what looks like a straight line angle up or down is really starting to level off or is increasing in slope which would change how I respond to that BG level. The arrows are useless. Thirteen minutes ago I had an arrow indicating that I was dropping fast. Now my BG is 15 higher and “steady”. The graph still looks like I’m dropping. PLEASE give us zoomable graphs and actual data points for each minute or 5 minutes so we can see what is really going on. You could make it where as you scroll through the graph it displays the reading for each fat point. Along with the arrow, tell us how much BG has changed in the last 5 minutes. You could just look at some of the aftermarket apps and get a good idea of what works. Before my insurance changed and forced me to change from Dexcom to Libre I used the Dexcom with the Sugarmate app and was able to control my BG much better. The problem is not the sensor but the app.

Needs a software update. I like the chart and the fact that it sends out an alarm when my glucose readings are very low or very high so I can adjust my diet. I’m new to diabetes monitoring 24/7 because it’ll help me and my doctor try out different prescriptions that’ll control my sugar and also help find out if there’s an underlying disease or condition messing with my diabetes like gastroparesis. This is like the best feature for beginners like me that need to track sugar spikes, and I don’t have to poke my fingers all day long! The alarm is now going off when my sugar is well into the 200s and 300s or below 70 again and it can be detrimental to a diabetic’s health and could save their lives. I really love this meter and this app! I really don’t see the alarms as annoying, although, it is jarring at times and I jump sometimes. Maybe a way to adjust the level of the sound of the alarm separate from the phone sounds might help with others complaining about it. I just thought the alarms were part of the reason why you get these meters, so you know when your levels could get dangerous.

Fantastic app!. I’ve been using the app for 10 days. It is phenomenal. I’m dumbfounded by the poor reviews and have to chalk them up to lack of familiarity or training in how to use the app. If I could, I’d give the app 6 stars. The ability to scan as much as desired to see the effects of different meals or fasting is extraordinary. Or, you prefer to scan less, the monitor stores the last 8 hours of data. Being able to set target ranges and custom alarms is easy and effective. If you are a diabetic, get this free app and use it. You don’t need a separate reader. Just use your phone. See daily, weekly or quarterly data. View average glucose levels to determine immediately how your equivalent A1C levels are trending and so much more! The only caution is that rarely, but sometimes, it doesn’t scan the first time. Simply tap the scan symbol and try again. A very minor inconvenience once in a while. This app has changed my life in only 10 days.

New to Libre 2. I'm using iphone 14 pro max. It shows when setting up it works on IPhone 13 Pro Max. It should work on the 14. It is working but continually saying signal loss, even with my Iphone within 10 inches from my arm I continually get signal loss messages all day. This bug needs to be fixed. Sometimes when I get the signal loss message to scan. The scan will be successful but it doesn't always display the result, so I have to scan a 2nd time. I guess I'll be switching to the Libre 2 scanner unless some app improvements are made soon. The convenience factor of using my iphone since it's always with me overrides using the Libre 2 scanner. It makes sense that this app overrides when my phone is on do not disturb but is very hard to rest when signal loss messages happen all night. I would definitely want an alert to override my do not disturb if my blood sugar went dangerously low.

App does not keep up with Apple iOS. This is my biggest complaint currently. APPLE is about to unload 17.0 and Abbott has failed it's Diabetic users sometime since 16 started. I cannot fathom the number of users who could no longer scan their sensor and had to waste time(and probably a sensor) figuring out it was the update and Abbott's outdated app. On APPLE's support site, I found updates as old as 16.1 from nine months ago. Mine has been working fine until two days after updating to 16.6.3. Abbott's compatibility chart lists up to 16 but without a decimal point specifying where in 16(iOS version 15.0 is a compatibly listed option). One phone number is the only way to contact Abbott libre freestyle and they know nothing. The fact that Apple is releasing version 17.0 is disturbing.I have intermittently seen a notification warning about possible compatibility issues with updating to17.0 when the app is already failed at various points in 16. Aside from this enormous issue, the scanning ability is erratic as is the apps ability to senseThat the device is well within the required 50 feet of the sensor.

Helpful. Even though I know the readings are not accurate it has helped me understand my times and what I eat makes my glucose go up but I hate it at work because I’m constantly running around doing work and do not like keeping my phone on me so the alarm keeps going off and disturbing my co workers and I have to keep running back to my phone to shut it up. Signal is weak at my work too so it’s always disconnecting even when I’m sitting close to my phone. But the reason I’m writing this is my first sensor seemed to work great until it got ripped off walking into a door way, and the second sensor seems to constantly keep disconnecting even i as I am laying in bed 6 feet from my phone on the charger. Every 5 minutes I have to get up and shut it off as it keeps saying not reading sensor. So makes feel like the boy that cried wolf so if it alarms that I have a sudden drop and I ignore it because I think it’s just doing the usual annoying disconnect alarm while I’m trying to sleep I’m afraid now.

Love the Sensor, Hate the App. While I love the basic functionality of the Libre 2 sensor and convenience of being able to take readings seamlessly whenever I want, the application needs a ton of improvement. First, I should be able to download data way more easily so that I can analyze it myself. Process should be as simple as it is to add my practitioner, or even just having an option to email results from the app to myself. Also, how the data is displayed is not very intuitive or even useful at times. It would be nice to have a flag/drop-down that says whether the reading is fasting, premeal, post-meal, pre-exercise, post-exercise, etc. I have to manually put this in my notes. Also, for manual readings, once inputting data it should be editable. I had a period where I was waiting for replacement sensor and had to manually add my readings and accidentally put them on the wrong day. I couldn’t delete them or even edit them so I had a whole day of incorrect readings. I think the app development team could benefit from looking at an app like Dario’s to get some fantastic ideas for GUI and customer data management improvements.

Libre 2. It the beginning I gave 2 out of 5 stars to this device. But now after using it for 45 days, I give 4 out of 5 stars because it gives so many options to control my diabetes. Off Course the numbers it gives are different from old devices. But who knows which one shows the right number. Now I know better how to use it and have more control of my diabetes. Forget about grading I need help. I was using freestyle Libre 2 for several months. Yesterday it couldn’t communicate with my cell phone. I thought there’s something wrong with the device even there was 4 days left on the device left, I removed the device from my arm and installed the new one in order to get some connection and reading. Still it doesn’t work. What should I do to keep it connected and have it working. Thank you

Quite inconsistent. There are times when I get so many faulty scans that I just give up. Sometimes I’ll scan 25 or 30 times and still get bad scans. The other day I ripped the thing out of my arm and threw it away. I still have six days before it expired so I am just using the old fashion manual way until my 6 days are up. A couple of weeks ago I put in a new unit and it kept saying try again after one hour. After three attempts I finally just pulled that unit out of my skin and tossed it in the trash. In all fairness customer service is sending me a replacement for that unit. So the main problem I have with this unit is scan errors. These units are too expensive for me to pull them out of my arm and toss them in the trash. I also had a unit that fell out of my arm. I have no idea where it went haven’t run into it. I kept kidding warnings after I had pulled it out of my arm so I ended up having to delete the app from my phone. I will load it up again later.

Inconsistent. I started using Libre 2 in December 2022. When I got my intro kit there was enough sensors to last 3 months. The first 4 did not work. Even though I studied the instructions and followed directions, the app on my phone would say : sensor is not working- please remove and add a new sensor to scan, or after 1 day of use, I’d get a message that said: sensor has ended, put on a new sensor. Out of my intro kit I lost four sensors. In the new kit I just got 2nd week of March, the first one worked for 1 day then when I tried to read my blood glucose I got a message that said sensor has ended-(after 1 day) I’m glad not to be using a pen and meter and pricking myself, however, Medicare pays in good faith, so I expect the sensors to work as advertised, more consistently. I understand an occasional issue but a total of 5 out of 2 shipments is excessive.

Extreme highs and lows because. Since the latest iOS 16 update my scans error more often than they're successful- no exaggeration. It's also very buggy with the scan pop-up staying open after a scan, or closing without scanning at all. The error scans, the ones that tell you "try again in 10 minutes", are extremely frustrating, especially when they happen during critical lows. It's infuriating when I start to feel shaky and scan to see if I'm low and should treat with, and it tells me "try again in 10 minutes". Oh ok, I'll wait........🤬 And couple times I've gone off the charts with highs during the night and I'll see the "Alarms Unavailable" banner - so I just stay >400 for hours without realizing it and wake up with blurry vision. I'm guessing they're prioritizing the Libre 3 and not worried about keeping the 2 up and running. The $35 per sensor feels like a big waste of money and a huge health risk.

Elder care … almost there 👍. So glad you got this in the USA now. Keep working on it. i planned to dedicate my old iphone 6 so we could all use the one iphone to wand Ma’, but it cant be upgraded past ios 12.5. We have a good team of people attending to her needs, and have been anxiously awaiting Freestyle 2 app. I expected to be able to invite all of us to receive alarms, and whoever is on call would respond. I understand we can’t each use our own iPhones because it will consider those different devices too just like you can't switch back and forth between using an iphone and the abbot reader. So close. Why we want the App: I’m just downstairs but i cant hear the abbot reader through a door in my sleep when low glucose alarms (most dangerous) are most likely to occur. Abbot reader is not capable of sending alarms to other devices. Ma’ cannot make her hands work a touch screen let alone her brain so we have to so it for her. We are not going to buy a new iPhone for one app. So we continue to work with what we have - but it’s not adequate. Keep improving please. You have a growing community of elders who need this tech and will pay for it because it is critically important.

Frequent lost signal alert libre 2 to up to date iPhone x. Constant lost signal alerts between libre 2 sensor and iPhone X. Two sensors ago over two dozen alerts in 10 days. None with replacement sensor. Just applied new sensor on Friday morning. This is Friday 6 Pm. Thirteen dropped signal alerts. iPhone is at most 1 ft from sensor. No obstructions. I know that this is a too often common complaint. I keep sending the sensors back with detailed descriptions of circumstances when it happens. Never get a response, to help me address the problem. I know it is not the phone since in rare instances the sensor succeeds in maintaining the link. I am up to date with apple’s software update. Have you been updating your software so it remains compatable with apple? It is a good product when it works, but frequently it breaks Bluetooth connection. Fr David Sutcliffe

Annoying; Setting can’t be our choice. ***Update: no I do not want to contact customer services for assist as there nothing anyone can do. This app was set as it is. Just admit it: this app is set the way you want it not customers. Today the first time & first day using this glucose sensor with app. At first I like it because it easy but then it became annoying. I have certain way of how I set my notifications & alarms. With this app I can’t set it up the way I want it to be. If I do then my phone will go crazy with alarms & alerts. Apparently all notification, banners, Lock Screen, sounds, & badge icon numbers must be on. Heck the badge icon numbers don’t work. All I want is Lock Screen & no sounds. I appreciate this company that made this app for us diabetic people but it should allow US, diabetic customers, to set up how we like it with notifications & alarms. This is making me wonder if I made the wrong choice & have to look else where.

Wont work unless you give up control of your phone!. Unless you have critical alerts and the annoying alarms on the app will not work. I pay for my phone and i internet and i will not let an app tell me what ridiculously loud alarms must stay on. And before you idiots at abbott write with a contact number your people dont know anything especially about this issue. For the pandering people that like these alarms, you do you and have your phone run your life. I have gone back to the original sensor and will never use this app or freestyle 2 sensor again. What would posess a company to put a product out that keeps failing and stops scanning before the two weeks is over is beyond me. Obviously no one at the top reads these reviews and if they do and keep this product as is they they should be fired. And stop having us call the abbot number. The people you hire know little to nothing except for the limited script you give them. Freestyle 2 sensors and app are the worst!

Alarms are obnoxious!. I have the same problem many other commentators are posting. It is not possible to edit the alarms and notifications, or the volume they sound at. It is incredibly aggravating as a diabetic. Imagine being in church, or at work, or at a funeral and your phone beeps louder than a fire alarm! Its loud enough to wake dead at the funeral. The app does not allow you to edit what is called a “Urgent Low Glucose Alarm.” Any time your BG gets to 55 or below, it screams at you. No other option. Because, if you go into your phones settings and turn off the “Urgent Low Alarm” the app completely shuts down and wont work in any way. Abbott, please don’t respond to this comment with a customer service phone number. It does not help. Just fix the app so diabetics can use the app in a better way. The amount we pay for these things, we need something better. Maybe, have someone diabetic on your app development team.

Just buy the reader, you’ll regret using your phone. First, the device it’s is highly inaccurate. My finger pricks and the monitor always had a difference of 15-30, always. It’s a waste of money Second, the app will not read the monitor unless you have the alerts on and you cannot silence them in any way. It’s a siren! If you close the app or turn notifications off or silence them the monitor does not read until you turn them back on. The alerts still go off even with do not disturb on or having your phone on silent. Mine went off all through the night, every night. To shut it up you have to scan it only for it to go back off over and over. It’s went off during meetings, appointments, phone calls, funerals! I had to shut the app down more than I was using it due to the constant alerts. 2 weeks was enough to make me switch brands

Whole system needs better development. I wrote a review that doesn’t seems to appear anywhere so here is a second shot. This system is touted as top of the line, but it doesn’t even integrate with apple health. The app doesn’t provide any integration with other apps, but in exchange doesn’t provide alternative native to the app. The food tracking is about as basic as it comes so you can’t really correlate bg changes with food or exercise. No tie in to how strenuous the exercise was or specifics on macro/micronutrients. The sensors are just as basic. Though application is easy, you can only put it on your arm. I have torn one out just putting a back pack on. The other I had on for about 24 hours into camping when the adhesive gave out from sweating. I wasn’t even working hard, it was just hot outside. This whole system needs to go back to the drawing board. I haven’t even had it on for a week.

Very Inaccurate. I was previously using the Freestyle Libre 1 along with my iPhone 13. It was pretty accurate; sometimes only a few points off and as much as 30-40 if I was really high. Then my Endo suggested the Freestyle Libre 2 because of the alarms. Meanwhile I upgraded to an iPhone 14. Now, it does state when starting the app/sensor that it hasn’t been tested for compatibility with the iPhone 14. But! I already had the sensors and couldn’t return them. I’m here to tell you that you will NOT get accurate readings using the 2 with an iPhone 14. My numbers have been as much as 90 points off. And now that I have updated my iPhone to the new IOS, it’s even worse. Before the update it would almost always read higher than what I actually was. Now it’s reading lower than I actually am. Just now I got an alarm for a low alarm at 69 and my actual blood sugar was almost 250. This is extremely frustrating and I just ripped the sensor off. This needs to be fixed ASAP. The point of the Frerstyle Libre is easier monitoring, more effective tracking and better control. None of which are being achieved. The users should also have the confidence that the system will work with the most popular phones on the market. I will be asking my specialist to return to the Freestyle 1 and hope that there aren’t any further issues.

Forcing alerts and notifications is ruining everything. I get that for some people it might be key to have alerts and notifications all the time, but not for me. I consider it annoying and disruptive. What I do is to turn alerts and notifications on when I want to take a reading and to turn them off right after. Pretty annoying and useless, imho. Leave that to me, I just want to read the numbers on my body on my cell phone on the device I bought with my money only when I want, and not when the developers believe I should be doing the readings. I will most probably delete the app and go with the ugly reader after this sensor expires just to avoid these useless alerts (in my case). Or maybe I will try another sensor, this space is becoming pretty crowded pretty fast. Y’all better start listening the your customers who actually buy the sensors.

No Apple health integration?. So I’ve read a bit of the reviews/complaints… and I have to say I agree with most of them. I’ve been using the Libre 2 for about 6 months to a year. I can say the critical alarms are VERY alarming for me and EVERYONE around me, including in the middle of the night. As I always have my iPhone or my Apple Watch or both for 95% of everyday, they’re needs to be a more discreet way of alerting the user and not so much everyone else. I also would like to add the other issue I have. Apple Health integration is non existent. I keep track of as much health information as I can on Apple Health, so I’ve been manually adding my scanned readings from Abbots Libre 2 system to the Apple Health app within Apples ecosystem. I’ve already installed the Libre 3 app as I’m so excited for the continuous glucose monitoring without the need to scan. It looks like the Libre 3 app isn’t going to support the Apple Health integration either. Dexcom has this integration! What is happening here?

Love it!. I have been using Libre 2 for a year, and I have been able to reduce my A1C level significantly. I have been able to get off of all but 1 of my meds, and I hope to be able to reduce the dosage after I have my labs done and meet my doctor in 9 days. The numbers are not the same as testing it the old fashion way, and it was explained to me that there is a lag between the testing methods, so I stick my finger once a week to be confident that the readings are close. About a year ago, I had a heart attack and had a stent placed on my heart. I knew my A1C was high and could never track what the foods were doing to sugar levels. It makes a difference to take the reading at any time or place and know what triggers my numbers to rise. Not has this helped to lower my A1C, it has also helped me to lose 55 pounds too!

Horrible. Defective sensor and terrible customer service. I have been wearing the sensor as part of the Zoe personalized nutrition program. I do not have diabetes or any problems with my blood sugar. Every night, in the middle of the night, an alarm has gone off saying my blood sugar is critically low. However, when I use the app to check my blood sugar it is in the normal range. Even though the alarm sounds every night the app says I have had no low glucose events. This alarm can’t be disabled. I have called customer support twice and have talked to someone who is clearly speaking from a script. Each time she has said I should wait and call back again if it keeps happening. When I said it had been happening for four days she said I could replace the sensor, but apparently at my own expense. If I ever have need for another continuous glucose monitor I will not use one from this company.

Stopped working. As of last night the app simply decided to stop allowing me to scan an active sensor. Alarms come through randomly telling me to scan, but then it simply will not scan - not a failed scan, no scan at all. I click the blue “scan glucose” button, and the sensor picture goes gray for a second as if it it going to initialize, then back to white and nothing. Has been working on the latest iOS update until randomly it stopped last night. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Same issue. After using the sensor 2 for about 2 months now, I am 100% ready to go back to the previous version. I very much believe this product was rolled out to the public too early, and they are using the public as Guinea pigs. No money in a cure, just in treatment; well this company is becoming one I will not even trust for treatment.

About the alarms.... When my phone is on silent mode, and I get a notification from a low/high alarm, the vibration is only a single buzz (like when you get a text message) rather than buzzing for about 5 seconds (like how your phone vibrates when you get a phone call). I don’t think it’s currently possible to change/customize that setting anywhere. I would prefer it to vibrate for a few seconds (like it does on the Freestyle Libre 2 device) rather than just a single buzz, so I will actually notice it! You can set the alarms to override silent mode and give a sound alert even when your phone is on silent, but when I’m at work, church, etc, I want an alert that is enough I’ll notice it, but not something everyone around me will hear. Note: The “extreme low” alarm automatically overrides silent mode for below 55.

fix the app please.. Being a type one diabetic who’s also a growing teenager I personally think this app could have gone way better. i’m constantly woken up in the middle of the night for “lows” that aren’t even actually low! Just a little bit ago I got a notification my blood sugar was low so I checked it and it said “65”. I went upstairs and grabbed two juice boxes cause usually after the first juice box I get a notification a few minutes later saying that i’m “urgently low”. I didn’t feel low at all this time so I got up to finger poke and I was 202. I haven’t seen any reviews or such say anything about this yet so maybe it’s a me thing? Another thing is the constant beeping. I used to appreciate it but at this point it’s becoming a hassle and an annoying mess I don’t usually want to deal with. I liked the idea of having this app until I realized that it wakes you up at 2am like a screaming baby. Definitely look into getting the app before downloading.

Who is the IDIOT !!!!. Who is the IDIOT that thought it was a good idea to make you choose either the Reader or the App? Obviously not a diabetic themselves! That’s not how most of us use the thing. The 5 people in my little circle of Libre 2 users, we all do a very similar thing. We start the sensor with the Reader, at home we manage monitoring with the Reader, but when we go out in public we leave the Reader at home. What we need is a tool that lets us get a quick reading with our phone while we are out in public or at work away from home. Yeah, it would be nice if we could transfer the values captured by the App to the Reader, but ya know, not necessary. But this idea that we have to choose either the Reader or the App? Take the executive that cut that corner out back, and metaphorically shoot him! Fix this Freestyle. I get that it might be tough to transfer values between the App and the Reader. But to make it so you can only use the Reader if you start the sensor with the Reader, and that you can only use the App if you start the sensor with the App? That’s stupid! You are a multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical and DME mega-corporation. Do something more for your patients than just fleece them for your ever-increasing profit margins. Until this gets fixed, I’ve got to kick the App to the curb. k

Going Back to Original 14 day Libre. My doctor gave me a sample Libre 2 to try out and I am not a fan. I have been using the original 14 day Libre for several years and will be sticking with that version. With the Libre 2 I get daily error messages and as others note, the alarms are very annoying and cannot be turned off. I run several times a week so I get false low readings and having an alarm that cannot be shut off drives me crazy. Being unable to use both a reader and my phone is also inconvenient. There are times when a quick scan with a reader is best (middle of the night) and times when the more robust app is a better choice. Libre 2 takes that choice away. Its one or the other. It’s not a bad product and beats finger sticks by a million but Libre 1 is a better choice until Abbott links the product (hopefully the Libre 3) with Omnipod or another pump product at which time the failings of the Libre 2 will be outweighed by the benefits of a closed loop system.

Alarms useless knowing how foods affect my sugar levels priceless. I’ve turned all the alarms that the system will allow off. I use my iPhone to scan regularly 10-12 times per day. I do get low sugar alarms for anything below my threshold of 70 but when I test manually I’m always a minimum of 40 points or more above my threshold. These annoying don’t detract from the overall decrease in my blood sugar levels. By monitoring my blood sugar after eating certain foods this system has helped me to better manage the type of foods and the quantity that I eat. Along with minimal exercise my A1C has dropped from 8.2 to 5.9. The alarm problem is annoying but I can’t disregard the results. Most of the other health management programs allow me to interface data. I have to manually transfer data from this system to others a true pain. Hopefully you will address this and the alarm issues in your next release.

Sensors keep failing and alarms can’t be adjusted correctly. I’ve been a customer for a year and a half and the sensors fail occasionally in the past and now they’re failing more often than they are working. I don’t know why you can’t improve the product that’s the whole idea when we sent back the sensors with the error messages, isn’t it? I don’t get good customer support and I don’t feel like anybody cares about my comments about the sensor is continuing to fail. Also, I was never notified that you could use your phone as a reader. When I started a year and a half ago you could not with the system and since then they’ve changed it but they failed to let people know unless you happen to log on their website. I don’t have any reason to be logging out to their website. Abbott does not seem to be sensitive to feedback or making a difference. I’m ready to find a new provider

So disappointed. I started using the Libre2 I think in Nov of 21 and it was good at first for like the beginning 6 months and then things started to fall apart. First I started getting inaccurate readings then all of a sudden the reader stopped working so I got a new one then that stopped working then I got a new phone and started using my IPhone now the sensors are just not reading or alarms go off here and there. Sometimes if I forget that the reader has gone off in a while I’ll try to scan and the reader says sensor has ended please replace and that’s with multiple days remaining and I mean like 11 or 12 days left. I am highly disappointed and may be looking into an alternate at this point because driving on a highway and my blood glucose spike so high I could barely keep consciousness and this sensor reader combo fails me in what seems like every 2 to 4 days then I’m calling in for a replacement

Very annoying. I’ve used the original libre w/ reader for 2.5 yrs. Loved it. Now I can only get the libre 2. Surprise! My old reader won’t work work with a libre 2 sensor. The phone app features are very annoying. I’m a Type 1.5. Don’t need insulin or meds; just diet. The phone app has no option to JUST ChECK my glucose. The app insist on constant access to the sensor. I get too far away and the alarms go off. I take a shower w/o taking my phone with me; the alarms goes off. I am sleeping peacefully and the alarm goes of at 3am. Glucose is fine. The app even overrides DoNotDisturb, volume all the way down, ringer off. Nothing stops it from going off in the middle of the night and my glucose reading is fine. But I’m wide awake now. Thanks a lot. I will go back to finger sticks. No more phone apps. If Abbott is discontinuing the original libre sensor (which will include the now obsolete reader), they should offer a new reader to go with the new sensor. It’s all about $$$$.

Terrible alert handling. The app uses critical alert which basically go off whenever the app thinks the sensor is out of range. Which you cannot turn off and still use the app. First the phone is not a medical device no one should pretend like it is… it can be lost, run out of battery restart where you forget to restart the app manual. All of these render critical alerts, well, optional. They are not simple 100% guaranteed a user input is always needed. So let’s help users…. Okay developer do this… if someone wants to disable critical alerts, let them. Tell them what they will miss and allow the user to confirm they do need a nanny tracking how far the phone is from your body. This would make ALL the bad reviews go away. People will like the new app, has some good features, the it requires critical alerts which cannot be silence hurts people’s lives more than it helps. Seriously freak’n just make it optional with inform consent that one will not be told when the phone cannot connect to the sensor (or at least make that optional) Please DO NOT tell me to call some 800 number you may getter assist me. Read the reviews, the problem is clear, should take maybe an hour of coding to adjust the usage of critical alerts, maybe allow a few hours to adjust the UI. Just fix this. There is NO way i am using another one of these give the sad state of the app.

Unreliable device and app that loses data. It serves the intended purpose but I will not recommend the device or app. They are unreliable and quite costly. At the end of the day, the data is nice to have but the A1C is what matters and that requires a blood test. I had two devices, in a two month period, that stopped working within hours of being applied. Nothing changed … same process of applying and app says the device malfunctioned. Unless you are insulin dependent, I’d only use Libre for a few weeks / months to get things under control then ditch the expense and feeling like you were micro-chipped like a dog. The app loses data if you don’t scan every 4 hours. Be prepared to disable the alarms… no solid night of sleep allowed. Unless you take insulin, the alarms are meaningless. You can’t correct high glucose without insulin. Low alarms are enough to trigger a donut run … get alarmed at 2:45am and start your day ?

Primitive app. Love having a CGM and this has been helpful to me in adjusting my diet to better control my type two diabetes. The app, however, is extremely limited. There is no way to export data, no interface with Apple health, and no way to share data with anyone, including my doctor, except through a very limited and cumbersome system which requires the downloading of other apps. CGM’s or a major breakthrough for diabetes management, but this app seems to have been developed in the dark ages. As others have noted, if the app fails for some reason, the data is lost. This extreme limitation significantly reduces the value of this product. If they were were a way to export and save the data, and particularly if it would interface with Apple health, this would be a five star app and a five star product. But with this substandard app, I’m having a hard time, giving it more than two stars.

No updates from 10 months. Even though the Libre2 app is good with lot of reports and graphs, it has not seen any updates and upgrades recently . Maybe due to changes in IOS (16.6) this product is becoming slow and irritating. Errors are increasing, reading does not get transferred quickly etc. For all the money they charge/make they should keep the updates on time along with more compatibility and features. Ex: why not an option to get a reminder if I don’t scan for 2 hours from last scan? Why not use my Apple Watch for scanning? Hope we will see some action soon. 2 days later : I got a stock answer to call customer support line. Why waste my time more? There are multiple software update related complaints. All they have to say what is the problem to update or when will they update. Is this the support we get from the Abbott Labs? Reduced my stars.

Terrible Reliability In Product Sensors. Great idea… When it works. This company needs new management from the CEO down through to the technical design team. They need jobs they can do well at… That’s not with this product. This latest version is terrible. It is constantly alarming “Not In Range” when it is in range… In your hand. For readings, it’s a 1 out of 10 chance that it will work. After over a year… I am very disappointed with this product. It “seems” like the battery in the sensors are faulty. The company’s customer service is the best when connected with someone who is fluent in speaking America English… It is unfortunate customer service needs to be called so often. Not fun. Customers are limited to the frontline of customer service so resolving issues is impossible but getting a replacement sensor is possible. Again, it would be a GREAT LIFE SAVING product if it were more dependable.

Very poor app. I have used the Libre 2 for just over a year now. Well over half of the sensors started up but failed instantly after that and quit working, always telling me to put on a new sensor which of course I didn’t have so I was back to finger sticking over and over again. My assumption is that your app tries to do something with an Apple iphone that takes charge in an area of the volume control that Apple then considers to be a breach of their platform and their developers work up a System upgrade that then fails with your app. I got so tired of your sensors not logging in correctly to your app that I was ready to quit using them however I remembered the package originally came with its own meter which actually works quite well and you can leave it at home when you don’t want to be interrupted, say in the middle of a church service. Graphics are nowhere near as good on your meter as on an iPhone but at least it lets me use your system without having to stick my finger. I have actually now gone a full month with working sensors, first time, but again do not trust that your developers are keeping your app updated since there’s only been one update to your app during the last three or four system upgrades of the iPhone.

Inaccurate readings. MyFirst sensor was a sample from my doctor. I read all the literature and apply to sensor to my arm as instructed. After the sensor was ready my readings very quickly came up on the app. However, that reading plus every subsequent reading is between 40 and 60 points less than my fingerstick. I know there’s supposed to be some discrepancy but not that much. Alarms go off all night long saying my blood sugar was low when in fact it was not. I certainly couldn’t trust that they were not accurate so had to finger stick each time to be cartoon. I contacted Abbott, gave them the information that they requested, and they sent me a new sensor. That sensor is acting the same way. I am using an iPhone, iOS 14.8 which is listed as compatible. I do not have a FreeStyle Libre 2 Reader to compare readings between devices. Wonder why medical professionals don’t know about inaccuracies and keep recommending this product.

I am ashamed of this app as a healthcare professional.. The fact that this app does not allow you to silence alerts when setting it up is completely against the autonomy of a patient to choose their own path. As a pharmacist and a diabetic educator, I have both been trained and seen with my own eyes that if you can lead your patients to choosing a better lifestyle through listening to them and helping them come up with their own plan that fits into their schedule you will get FAR better results than just dictating what they should be doing. Its a team effort and the patient is the person leading the team…you are just their advisor. The programmers of this app obviously had no input from anyone in healthcare and if they did, those “professionals” should be ashamed of themselves. I expected better from such a large healthcare company. I know you can afford better counsel and quality assurance.

Gets the job done, have a request. I’m satisfied with the app and the Libre2 system. I’ve had to troubleshoot some items and find my own solution but after that it’s been good. I really really would love 2 “high” alarms. Just like how there’s a “low” and an “urgent low” alarm I would LOVE there to be a “high” and a “urgent high”. Once in a while I’ll get an alarm, I’d treat it but if its a new food that I don’t know how to dose for or the injection site wasn’t good my blood sugar will continue to rise, and when I check 1-2hrs later my number is through the roof. I would love there to be a high alarm and then an “urgent high” I can set to help in these situations. Since two can be set for low I imagine it wouldn’t be terribly difficult to add this functionality. The app itself requires restarting here and there but nothing catastrophic.

Alarms are very inconvenient. I used the Libre 2 reader for my first sensor and was excited to use the app on my next one (as they cannot both be used with the same sensor). Unfortunately, the sounds cannot be adjusted for the alarms. Having the alarms has been my favorite part of Libre 2, however not having the ability to only have vibrating alarms is super inconvenient. I’m not supposed to have my phone on me at work, which will be practically impossible with this feature. On another note, I often get readings with the app that say the sensor cannot be read. I never had this issue with the reader, but for some reason with the app it’s a constant issue. At this point, I’m going to have to turn off all of the alarms after scanning my blood sugar, which entirely defeats the purpose of the new enhancements with the 2 sensor. Overall, I’m very disappointed with the app and wished I had scanned my new sensor with the reader. Now I’ll have to wait another 2 weeks to switch back.

Love It!. The alarms are the whole purpose for having this system! I’m diabetic and I’m hypoglycemic. My glucose level drops randomly and unexpectedly. I love how the app immediately lets me know when my glucose is dropping! I also appreciate how it continues to monitor and lets me know if it’s still in a range set as too low. It helps me gauge how much I need to do in order to improve my glucose level. I think this is the best for diabetics! It goes off at work and immediately gets my coworkers’ as well as my supervisor’s attention. They instantly check on me to make sure that I’m ok. My husband has his ears tuned to the alarms so he’ll know to check on me and to administer whatever help I need! I have no complaints about the Freestyle Libre 2 because it does what it is designed to do and that is to keep me in good health! Great job, Abbot! I look forward to the 3!

Re do the app. I have diabetes and I get how this system is supposed to monitor and notify you when sugars are off. But come on these alerts are ridiculous. You guys need to add like a vibrating option. Because this was going off these alerts all night long you have to have better options of how to control the notifications and still allow the app to work if somebody wants to not receive alerts. I don’t care about lost alerts, I don’t care about well you have to turn this is notification on in order for the app to work, that’s ridiculous. This is why I don’t want to use this system nor do I want to buy another monitor from this company if this is how the apps gonna continue to operate I don’t need a large for letting me know. I have high blood sugar I just need to track it and then take my insulin and I only take my insulin for meals. I don’t need all these alerts it’s useless, and redundant.

Awful development. The concept behind the product is great, but the algorithm they use to drive the product needs a TON of work. Most of the time when I tap to get a glucose reading the app has SIGNIFICANT lag or I get an error message, this every rarely happened with the old sensor app. I have a new updated phone, and my app is updated, so I’m not sure the cause for this consistent issue. The MOST frustrating part of this app is the alarm algorithm . I understand the need and importance of the alarm, but the algorithm they use does not make sense. I will be alerted of low blood glucose, then take a sensor reading, just to have it beep at me 3 minutes later indefinitely until my glucose level is brought up. This frequently become burdensome as you have no way to adjust the alarm settings. As such, I wish users had more flexibility when the alarm sounds. For instance, at work, I can’t check my glucose right away all the time and the alarm goes off every few minutes until I check. I wish I could just use the alarm only during nighttime/sleeping hours when I feel this alarm application is most needed. Lastly, I think there needs to be a calibration with an actual glucose monitor every few days. These sensors can be +50 mg/dl off even during stable blood glucose states.

Compatible w/iPhone 14 promax????. We don’t have this device yet, we have the old one. However we downloaded this app and saw that the sensor was not compatible with an iPhone beyond a 13!! That’s an issue that needs to be fixed SOON!! If they are discontinuing the original freestyle and we need to upgrade to a 2 or 3 they NEED to be compatible with the iPhone 14. It’s literally life or death. And the alarm issues I’ve read about, absolutely need to be fixed. There are some diabetics who also deal with anxiety, anger, and depression and an alarm they set to not go off constantly going off will only intensify those feelings. As a spouse to a loved one dealing with this disability, I’m begging for these issues to be fixed. Thank you for creating this product it truly brings peace of mind.

This is a life saver. Literally. The alarm wakes me up when my glucose crashes when I’m sleeping so I don’t go into a coma. Nice, right? I saw a review where someone complained that the alarm goes off when they get too far away from their phone. Well, yeah. The point is to keep your phone near you so it stays connected so your alarms are available. Also, you can turn off that alarm tone, you just can’t turn off the low and high glucose alarms. My only issue is that I wish they’d keep the software up to date so there isn’t a question whether it’s compatible with my phone updates or not. Also, don’t update your phone software until you change your sensor. If you do it before then your sensor will stop working.

Horrible App. STAY ON LIBRE 14 DAY OR USE A DIFFERENT GCM Alarms: The alarms are annoying and ineffective. You have no choice in sound for the alarms. The Urgent Low alarm cannot be turned off. This is an issue because sometimes the sensor reads 53 mg/dl when I’m 83 mg/dl and stable, so the alarm is going off when I’m in range and don’t need to correct. The alarms also keep continuing to go off when you are out of range so the device isn’t programmed to understand correcting blood sugar is not instantaneous. Often I’ll be coming up from a low after correcting and still hearing 2 or 3 alarms. Lastly, they have alarms that continually go off when your bluetooth is turned off or the app is closed, so the only way to truly turn the alarms off is to turn your phone off. App Functionality: I used the Freestyle Libre 1 (14 Day) app before switching to the 2 and the 2 app works about half as well. 50% of the scans fail and have to rescan. The Libre 2 app is also much slower. Sometimes it scans but the number doesn’t show up until you go to logbook. It generally doesn’t work as well as the Libre 1 app, despite having almost the same exact features and GUI. After a month of on the Freestyle Libre 2, I’m going to switch back to the 1 because as of writing this review they haven’t updated the app and the libre 2 is not worth the headache.

Could be better…. There’s a lot here that could be improved. I will say the Libre 2 is my first experience with their sensors, and before that I was on Dexcom. I prefer the Dexcom app, I was hoping this app would be similar in some ways. I was surprised with a couple issues I had. My biggest issue is with the alarms. There’s no way to put them on vibrate or make them quiet unless you turn them off…which defeats the purpose of a notification/alarm. Honestly just that aspect alone has me considering going back on the little reader I had to use before the app was available to the US. I get why they made it that way, but it’s really disruptive, and I’ve found no way to at least make the alarms quiet. They turn my phone on full volume whenever they go off. The next is there is no way to calibrate the sensor. I don’t know if it's possible , but calibration would be so helpful. There was one time I was getting a reading 120mg/dl over my actual blood sugar, which was scary to say the least. I don’t even know how long it was so incorrect. Luckily the company replaced this sensor, but it did make me question wether I wanted to stay with the Libre. Having an option to calibrate would be awesome. All in all, it does what it’s supposed to, but there is a lot there to be improved. The alarms are the biggest thing for me. Make a vibrating alarm option and I’d be much happier.

Horrible. Critical alert goes off 20+ times a day including all night, even when your sugars are fine. I shut off all the other alarms, but shutting off that one is not allowed. Woke me up at midnight and said my blood sugar was 54. I felt fine so I checked the glucometer. It was 80. Goes off again at 12:25 am. Ok. Fine. I’ll get up and eat something if I have any hope of sleeping. Wake up in the morning and it says my sugars are 291. I use the glucomoter: they’re 243 (they would have been fine if this app had not forced me to choose between sleep and normal sugars). I remove the sensor and disabled this app. I can’t be making decisions about insulin ingestion when this thing misses the mark by 20 - 40% in both directions. This technology is going to cause someone to kill themselves, but that isn’t going to be me. The constant, high-pitched alarm to remind me that everything is normal put me in a state of perpetual anger. But, discovering that it’s not even remotely accurate made me realize it’s dangerous. Be very careful with this technology, or better yet, don’t use it.

CGM output to home screen while phone is locked would be nice or to Apple series 8 watch. I wish the Freestyle Libre 2 would incorporate the series 8 watch and list the glucose level be at high or low on Thanksgiving this year no one had a password to my phone, and I collapsed without notice because the near field communication chip in my iPhone failed, but before that happened there was a notification, and if the glucose level had been posted to my watch, people would’ve known what would’ve needed to be done. I am very lucky. There was another diabetic at the dinner table because my sugar had fall into 44 which is below critical. Even if it were posted on the face of my phone. This way people would not need to know the password to get into my Apple iPhone. To see my blood glucose level.

Critical Alarms Mandatory?!. I don’t write reviews for apps, but this is ridiculous. You have to enable critical alarms to use the app. I have to literally uninstall the app every night before I go to sleep so it won’t randomly wake me up in the middle of the night to scan my sensor. Turn off this mandatory feature. Let me enable them when I want to or even let me set an alarm schedule where it’s active during certain times, but do not wake me up in the middle of the night because I forgot to uninstall your app since I use it during the day to track my levels. Furthermore the app can randomly go off because it lost connection to the sensor when I’m at work or in situations where I need silence, so again I have to cognitively uninstall the app each time I’m not using it. Just a waste of time. I’d rather go back to libre 1 if I could. Man I can’t wait for an Apple Watch that can do all this for me.

Works when it wants to. App opens but whenever you tap the check glucose button, maybe it will open, most likely it will not. You can close it and open it as many times as you want and hear the beeping of the critical alert it gives each time the app is closed. Even when left open it does not track levels even though it says it does and that’s why you give the critical alert whenever you close the app. Main function off the app (check glucose through the sensor) does not function. Update: I waited a few days before making this update. Contacted support and went through the usual clear cache, uninstall and reinstall. Still does the same thing just not as often anymore. Support says it might be a sensor issue and not the app itself. If that’s the case then there’s a bad batch of sensors out there because I went through 3 of them troubleshooting it with customer support.

What’s the point?. What’s the point of updating my phone to keep it secure if I can’t use the app with it??? I’m now going to have to be tethered to my phone AND the reader. The latest version of your app covers iOS 16, yet the latest version of iOS on my phone is 16.5 which renders your app completely useless. With “compatibility” like this I’m kicking myself for even considering a CGM. I’ve had the system for two days now and absolutely refuse to use it because 1) it’s useless with my phone; and 2) my “leash” is so short I can’t leave the reader on my kitchen table and walk to my bedroom without an alarm sounding. And if the alarm is super loud (like I’ve read in some reviews) it’s going to freak out my animals and my neighbors will hear it - just one more headache I don’t need. And your Customer Service suggestion of calling Apple to have them set my phone to an earlier version of iOS is absurd! Your app is either compatible with the latest software or it’s not. And right now it’s not.

Clueless Product Management Team. Fire them all! Today is July 31, 2022. I can’t believe how many terrible reviews I’ve read about this app and how almost all of them are complaints about the same behavior dating back months - even back into 2021! How long does it take for a pharmaceutical company that actually cares about its customers to make improvements to their application? To the Product Managers and Developers - there’s a childhood story called “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”. You need to read it. When your app sets off constant alarms of varying types - many of which aren’t actually critical - they become an annoyance to the point where you simply turn them off. What’s the problem with this? Well, when someone does finally get to the point where they have a legitimate emergency situation, they don’t get alerted about it because they shut the alarms off. This is effectively what your customers have been doing. I’ve been running the app or about 24 hours and I’ve already shut them off. I can’t walk away from my phone by a few feet without having my phone beeping at me. I get low glucose alarms when my glucose isn’t low enough to justify an alarm. You built something that’s great in principle. Terribly flawed in execution. And no…I won’t be calling your 800 number to talk to someone. You already lost a customer.

Please fix the bugs. I rated 3* bc I’m just grateful that I can check my blood sugar at any point by just scanning my arm. That’s awesome. But guys there are some serious bugs that need worked out. Sometimes I will have to scan my sensor like 10 times before I finally get a reading. 9/10 times I will get a Scan Error saying “Your scan was unsuccessful. Please try again.”. Also the app itself is extremely laggy. Anytime you click anything it takes like 3-5 seconds to perform a single task; like even just clicking the scan button itself. It’s pretty obvious that all it needs is a simple software update/bugs removed.. I don’t understand why this isn’t being done. They employ people to apologize for the poor software on the App Store Reviews but don’t employ people to fix their software? Priorities today are mind blowing to me.

Been extremely helpful. My doctor prescribed this back in January after a series of low blood glucose levels. What is nice is, it alerts me on the lows and highs and I do wake up even when in the deep sleep and take action. Prior to this, I did not have visibility to the intra-day fluctuations and so was oblivious to how my eating habits was affecting my blood glucose. With the help of this app (and sensor) I was able to bring my A1C down by 1.5 and hope to bring it down about 1 point. I would like the app to set multiple alarms. This morning, it alerted me at 85 (my old minimum) but was too tired and went back to sleep. By the time I woke up an hour later I as at 62 - which is dangerously low. I wish I could have set an alert at 70 just to wake me up again.
