Too expensive Hard to use for regular civilians. The audio feedback and learning experience is like from Vietnam era radios. Just because you enhance the digital experience as much as possible doesn’t mean it warrants the current charges. There can be way better use of these upgrading these old models without necessarily giving them the newest features and/or technology.

Not for me. I have tinnitus and.... This app does not allow a user to bypass the hearing test and manually control the hearing volume on their iwn. I have advanced tinnitus in both ears and the hearing test kept insisting that I keep retaking the hearing test over and over again. The tinnitus compensator feature didn't work at all, so that was very frustrating. The only way that this app could possibly work for me is to sit and let it "hear" my television speakers while I wear wired ear pods and let me just adjust the volume. So, since it cant let me set this app to do that, it's simply not a match for me. I even went straight to the subscrition to open all the features. So, very disappointed that it blocked me out of using it because it made a firewall of testing my hearing that I couldn't get through.

Please fix for iPhone Xs. This app works wonderfully on my iPad Pro which has new and updated operating system. I sue it for restaurants and theatre. However, my iPhone Xs has problems with the balance. It is either going if off and on or switching which ear. Since I have hearing loss in only one ear, I have the app set to have all sound go to my left earbud. It’s fine with iPad Pro, but not with IPhone Xs. It is NOT my phone as I recently traded one iPhone Xs for another iPhone Xs. Your app, even with hardwired earbuds, does not work properly with the Xs. Please, Please, Fix. I love the app, but don’t want to lug around my iPad Pro.

Helps me hear…WOW!!. After only two weeks of testing Petralex in various settings, I find it outstanding. Let’s me hear the folks at my table for the first time in years. I can finally hear the tv without blasting it.. Definitely worth the time to set up this app!!! Wish it worked for the phone.

Best hearing app by far. I find this app to be the best hearing app yet. I have used it for years now and still cannot find an app that has as many features as this one.

Equipment. Doesn’t work with Bluetooth and that’s almost always my preference making almost impossible to use I’m currently using a Plantronics Explorer 52. I wear many hats so I’m physically extremely active making in out of the question to wear wires. I can be somewhat certain at the end of a day my Bluetooth will still be with me but just barely. No, I cannot pass a hearing test so that even the type of Bluetooth can significantly affect my ability to do my job. Hearing aids cost 4 times more than my iPhone X and the performance difference would be like comparing a Harrier Jet to a balsa wood toy airplane So aggravating. I’ve purchased roughly $12,000 worth of hearing aids and had hell getting them to last more than 6 months. They just try to make you believe that what you paid $4000 for 6 months later is out of date. No lie, it’s pathetic

Totally frustrating lack of instructions. First issue is that the fee is higher than the product description in app store. Got through hearing test- no indication if you should be wearing headphones before pushing start button. Never got to a point to start actually using app or starting the adaptive course as after hearing test all buttons led to an ad for feature-unclear if it is additional cost or if invalidating supposedly free trial. Timed aka pressured offer for half price before you even get to see if it works. No thanks!

Been using for YEARS!!!. I have always used this app since I can remember!! I mean it’s been YEARS!!! I have a couple of main things and reasons as to why I use this app. But whatever the reason may be, lol it’s just an over all great app that WORKS!!!!

Great app. I’ve used a few different types of listening aid apps and this one is by far one of the better one’s. The only downside to this app is the price of the subscription

hi. I’m an Audiologist,I tried to use your app for one of my patients, he has a pair of Widex wireless hearing aids, i used com-dex as an interface to transform their combination into the bluetooth headset, but it didn’t work in microphone mode and it didn’t send sound via com dex into hearing aids.(Com-dex is a bluetooth interface between hearing aids and smart phones).is it any solution for this problem?

Does not work on iPhone Anymore. Apple needs to remove from App Store.. Loud squealing on iPhone X no matter how I adjust the settings. Even tried it on my iPhone 7 and it does the same thing. Used to work fine on my iPhone 7 but whatever they did when updating they ruined it. There is also a delay when using Bluetooth that the developers say they can’t fix but other developers have figured it out and with much cheaper apps. Such a disappointment with such an expensive app. Apple needs to remove this from the App Store until it works on iPhone again.

Best hearing app on the net.. I have had every app on Apple Store and Petralex is by far the best one I’ve ever used. Thank u guys at Petralex btw. As someone with tinnitus I can really appreciate what you have created. Thank you

Terrible Service. I tried this product and it did not work for me. I cancelled the subscription as soon as I figured out it would not work for me. A month later I got a bill for the subscription that I canceled and I tried contacting Petralex using their website contact. They do not provide a phone number to call. That was last week and I still have not heard back from petralex.

Wireless Bone Conduction. Well works good if you have functioning ears. I found the hearing test rather difficult because I lack hearing 100% in one ear and bypassing the test was confusing. Second I use bone conduction ear phones and found no way to match them before the testing. I could not even match AirPods because the app expects earphones being plugged into my phone. Just suggest that the app be updated to include being able to wireless linking to the latest bone conduction ear phones.

Love this app!. Honestly, this app works better that the app that is available from the hearing aid manufacturer themselves! I recommend this app for anyone using hearing aids!

Has helped me greatly. After taking the test and applying in my accessibility settings, I can hear phone calls and music much better then before.

Still testing. So far the app is useful but a bit confusing due to a delay. I can hear the conversation twice. Kinda like an echo. I was over the ear noise canceling headphones. I am trying to test on other options like air pods but I was stopped unless I post this review. Still interested just need some time in the app before I know my opinion on the product ? ? ?

Crystal Clear. This app is so easy to use. Also gives you a thorough explanation of the type and degree of hearing loss I have. Can hear conversations I’m carrying on in a crowded restaurant crystal clear now!

Can’t connect to Bluetooth. I tried to set this up to connect to Bluetooth headphones (Trekz Titanium). You must first do a hearing test with plug-in headphones. Then when I try to do the second hearing test with the Bluetooth headphones I see a message saying to turn the volume up to maximum. That message will not go away and the test will not start. So, I have not been able to connect the app to the iPhone.

Petralex. This is certainly help me on many fronts. I highly recommend it if you have hearing issues or if you’re looking to key in on sounds this app is for you.

This is amazing. My father’s expensive hearing aids were very touchy and often stopped working. He’s has severe hearing loss and wasn’t able to communicate without his aids. I downloaded this app and it saved him from isolation and loneliness. He can hear again. This app is free so you have nothing to lose to try. For people complaining about app, it has to be the individual’s hearing. Note: we did not try Bluetooth

Lag time is distracting. Tried this with Bluetooth earbuds as well as wired ones. There’s a distracting lag between the original sound and what’s coming thru the earphones. I wanted to use it small group setting so I could hear people better to interact, but this really wouldn’t work well for that purpose. Bummer. I don’t really need hearing aids - just a little amplification in certain settings.

It works with Shokz openrun. If you are impaired due to sound conductivity issues, Petralex with Ashoka Openrun might give you some relief. Definitely recommend trying it out. I just started, and will report back if it works on the trail and in other settings!

Petralex not reliable. I have used this hearing app for 2 months. It did work at first and you could customize it to your environment. However, the app kept malfunctioning and turning off. I could turn it back on, but it would no longer work. I spent a few weeks at least every other day deleting and reinstalling the app, which meant I had to take the hearing test yet again. When it started to happen daily, I switched to another app! Hope others have better luck!

👍🏻. I recently went to my ENT for a full hearing test. About a month later, I then used this app to test my hearing. The results were identical, now I use this application to hear better.

Great app and they actually work!. This app is one of the BEST when it comes to quality and service. I have heard things a lot better since using this app. And when you need to depend on something so you can hear and understand your love ones THE FIRST TIME, it really makes you feel better knowing you can count on Petralex!! Love this app!. Totally a lifesaver for trying to watch tv in the middle of a noisy atmosphere. The amplification is perfection but it can be a little hard to get tune out the ambient noise enough to hear just what your listening too. If there were a more detailed configuration to the frequency and compression settings it might make hearing more crisp. Oh and by any chance is there a mailing list for updates and information about your other apps.

Amazing app. One of a kind. Far better than most paid hearing applications. I’ve used this app for years, and it has not crashed once. On average, I use it 2-5 times a week. Parameters by default or custom are superb and simple to use.

P.H.A.. Petralex, aka, Perfect Hearing Aids (P.H.A.) is what I call it. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and everything is accurate and on point. I have no problems at all. It’s an easy to use app and they even give step by step video tutorials. Which makes it so much easier. Though it’s a free to use app, I don’t mind paying for the monthly premium subscription.

I loved until..... When I first installed this app it was wonderful. It was a music player and hearing aid app all together. It was wonderful, I set up the profile and was able to listen to my music with the eq set up for my hearing loss. It was like rediscovering my music collection. I honestly didn’t use the actual hearing aid app because When not using headphones I had my own hearing aids. When listening I just selected the profile for the headphones I was using. Then everything changed. In one update they separated the music player from the hearing aid app. While the music player worked with the selected profile, if I changed headphones (and yes there are difference) I had to leave the music app and open the hearing aid app to make the change. I don’t think it was intended that but the button I assumed would be for that purpose was grayed out. Not the best but sill usable. Though i would have helped if that upgrade had not wiped out my profiles. Then they did another upgrade. Great, I thought maybe they fixed that problem. Nope, it was worse. Now the music Player would only play one song at a time. No matter what I did to the settings I could not get to advance to the next song automatically. I finally deleted it. It was just too much trouble.

If only it were all free lol. I only wish that the payed features were free. But overall it’s a pretty decent sound amplifier app (the background noise reducer really makes world of a difference)

Works as well as a $4,000 pair of hearing aids. I connected my iPhone 5s to my Sennheiser 630VB headphones and on December 30th and set up my Dad who has 4% hearing in his right ear and 15% in his left. He sung this app’s praises that he couldn’t tell any difference between it and his hearing aids which were $2,000 each. Granted, Sennheisers are neither cheap nor convenient but they’re a lot less than $4,000. I was truly impressed- it was surely a comparison that gives credence to the quality of this app and its design. Great job on this app!!

This app is simply amazing. Intuitive, simple to setup and it will save you a lot of money. One suggestion to developer Please include a clear tutorial or an option to turn on and off the amplifier. It was not clear that I have to click on the profile icon to turn it off.

Hearing. I have been using this app for times when I can’t use my own hearing aids. The different profiles are great and it is a godsend when my hearing aids are not working. It has saved me in social and work situations, if you can believe it. Works great.

Great help, for when needed. I have lost some of my hearing but not to the point to get some hearing aids, This app test and calibrate exactly what I need when I needed. Thumbs Up for that. I leave it a four starts as when I move through applications the app automatically turns off when I needed to stay on. Perhaps the developer can fix this bug. Other than that. THANK YOU!

This app is great!. I just got over an inner ear problem that's temporarily making it hard to hear out of one year... I've gotta with a little bit tweaking here of there.. it will suffice until my problem goes away. Top notch app for sure!

Very Helpful!. I use the free version, which has many good options and features. The in app purchase will allow one access to many more features that can be put to use. Personally, I would like to use the other features, however. The expense is not worth it in my case although if one's hearing is extremely poor Then it most likely would be money well spent. The free version suits my needs. I have the iPhone, virgin and I did discover one bug. It doesn't work when voice control is selected. I open my control panel and the deselect voice control while I'm using the app and then I turn voice control back when I'm finished with the app. I have found that the built-in iPhone mic is high-quality and works well with the app making aftermarket condenser/extension mics unnecessary. I wish the cost of the in purchase was less.

Top Notch. Unlike the other applications that want you to provide false reviews this developer actually backs up everything claimed in the app. The quality and functionality of this application are unlike any other and provide the user with ever possible option needed! Great app and the best in the App Store by far! My entire company uses this app daily and relies on it to perform the work our industry requires

Work great!.. but the volume thing.... So first I’d like to start off by saying that this is a great application and it works wonderfully and I’ve used it with Bluetooth devices almost flawlessly. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, lets talk about this volume notification… if you decide to turn the volume down while using the application, a very loud voice comes on screaming at you(or at least that’s the best imagery i can give to exemplify the issue) to turn it back up or risk reducing the applications effectiveness. I understand that ideally you would want the volume turned all the way up... however, as a user I would like the option to freely adjust the volume without being harassed… It’s absolutely intrusive an annoying! Please fix this!

Only used for a few minutes. 3 stars because it says I need to leave a review in order to unlock full benefits (which seems to include re-testing/resetting) so I can’t really say much except the hearing test seemed to work, and it’s amplifying sounds. No ability yet to do balancing between left and right side (if it can do that) since my hearing impairment is just one ear. Also, I’m using AfterShokz bone conduction since that’s the type of hearing loss I have. We’ll see how useful this ends up being.

Helpful hinting. Are use this when I am hunting. And pick up sounds far away just like the phone and the directions want to hear it and wait.

Dad seems to not hear my tone of voice, Only!. Now my dad can finally hear me again. Ever felt like your being ignored but found out the answer feeling like a nimrod. Voices are sound waves. So when your waves are released they’ll do one of 3 things. Hear it, slightly hear it or just plain ol’ ignore ya. Haha joking, just plain ol’ not hear a single wave. With this this awesome app conversations with him are just like I use to remember some years back. Thank you all for this awesome opportunity. You gave our father and some bonding time back. Amazing clarity!. The sound is so crisp and I was blown away by how well the app can amplify the sound that is so far away… it also helps when you are trying to watch tv quietly without bothering others who are trying to sleep!

Fantastic for my Dad!. This app has allowed my Dad to hear me speaking normally from across the room, where I normally have to almost shout. He used my iPhone with standard earphones (corded) and it overcame his tinnitus as well as his general reduced hearing ability. I like this app because it does a hearing test of low to high frequencies in each ear to create a profile. When using the app, the best microphone choice is the one on the phone, but you can use the headphones mic as well (but it picks up your own voice more). My challenge is getting my Dad to use a smart phone, but he looked excited when he could hear more clearly using this app. I have tried other free hearing aid apps, but this was the only one that didn't have a hissing type of distortion when cranking up the volume (which would only add to a tinnitus hearing problem). I highly recommend this app for anyone reluctant to get hearing aids, but could still use some hearing assistance to enjoy clear conversations with family and friends.

Brilliant Hearing Aid App!!. Setting up profiles for different situations is easy. Would be good if I could edit the profile like graphic equaliser sliders. Switching from in-line ear mic on head set to iPhone mic is easy and useful. Volume can be adjusted from phone buttons, the App slider or in line Mic controller. Brilliant all round!

Wonderful App. This App lets you test your hearing, allowing you to create different hearing profiles so that you can then use the App as a hearing aid in different environments. Sensible and wonderful. I can now hear without spending thousands (which I don't have) on hearing aids. Thank you very much for your great work. Sadly it did not work with my Samsung neo but I bought a IPod and it works perfectly with that. Peter

Smartphone has a real purpose finally. I'm so glad I found this app. I have profound hearing loss in both ears and wearing hearing aids all day long eventually start to hurt the ears. I have a device to listen to tv but that's all I hear. This allows me to hear all sounds around me. It's incredible. It's really too good to be true. Thank you.

Bluetooth. I tried a other apps, this is the only one I found, you can use Bluetooth headsets. So now I can hear the TV without the volume to the max!

WARNING!! SCAM!!!. I signed up for 1 week, knowing it would auto-renew. HOWEVER, the app’s “Manage Your Subscriptions” button DOES NOTHING when I click it. I’ve tried EVERYTHING and STILL cannot cancel my $6.15/week subscription. APPLE SHOULD NOT ALLOW THIS!! THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!! I am going to have to CANCEL MY CREDIT CARD thanks to these SCAM ARTISTS!!! Have never been so disappointed and angry in my life. I don’t know yet.. Struggling to use the app because it keeps directing me to in-app purchases. Hopefully it will improve after I figure it out. Plus it won’t let me use certain features until after leaving a review.

Not free. This is another of those come-on free trial apps. That does not work without you giving them payment information; very deceptive. If this is their idea of a good app from the get go, imagine how the rest of the app will be. Apple should not allow this type of deception to exist in their store. All digital thieves should be obliterated without mercy to the root.

Delay. Maybe I am fooling myself that any app could help me hear better, because they all have an annoying delay. This one is not as bad as some, but still very difficult to deal with. Maybe that’s because I can’t afford the expensive ones. So, those don’t get tried.

Pretty decent. Better than other ones I’ve tried so far.

Good one. The advanced hearing test was the cruciall peice of the puzzle for me. I did hand tune the profile settings though. It's perfect now.

Free and corded or cordless. You can use the basic function for free and corded or wireless headphones in addition to a hearing device. Best one yet.

This app. It’s ok. I am dead in my right ear & it could use a little more tune up. But it’s not that bad. It was easy to use. Hey it was free , so I can’t complain. I think u can upgrade but not sure how much . I wish I could do a practice run before I paid for the upgrade on this.

Useful. Playing with the settings help - especially if you’re no sound expert. I say it does what it’s supposed do well.

Can’t figure out how to cancel my subscription. On a 10 hour car trip I tried to adjust all the filters and settings so I could better engage in conversation with my family. No luck. I’ve been trying to figure out how to cancel my subscription on the app. No luck there either.

Not overall satisfied with app. I am having a hard time adjusting to delay from the first time I hear it and trying to speak over it

Helpful. I have a hearing loss and this app helps me hear better at times when having conversations with people. It’s a really helpful tool.
