KORG Gadget 3 Comments & Reviews 2026

Needs some basic functions added. Cool app and fun to use, but it could really benefit from the following: 1) Allowing a playback cursor. It’s really annoying that when you’re trying to hear just a few bars of a gadget in relation to the whole scene that you have to play the scene from the beginning. You can move the start/end cursors at the top, but those only apply to the gadget you’ve opened, meaning it will play just the selected bars of the gadget while the rest of the scene plays in entirety. As far as I can tell there’s no option otherwise. This is critical if you’re trying to layer gadgets and work out harmonies. 2) Please allow a traditional DAW timeline view where the gadgets are horizontal and stacked! Having the option to view this way would greatly open up the possibilities of using this as a go-to DAW. I get that it wasn’t designed that way with the individual edit options for each scene, but I think it would help workflow for more linear minded people like myself. 3) Please move the ‘Velocity’ banner to a different place instead of at the bottom of the piano roll. I constantly hit it by accident when trying to edit the roll, and it opens up that huge window you have to swipe out of.

The best music app I have ever used. Korg gadget allows me to freely make music in a flash. It enables me to create any idea , edit any automation , sync my midi, computers and tablets , to create complex music that feeds my soul. It isn’t a consequence . When I was 10 years old I played my first Korg keyboard . The M1. Then the wavestation . And when I could finally afford a amazing synth , I was in my early twenties and I bought a triton. And the rest is history. When I first used Korg gadget , I instantly knew it was designed by musicians and producers , for musicians and producers . My latest new Korg synth is a wavestate. It works amazing with gadget. Highly recommend . I bet it will be the top Daw in 3 years !

For crying out loud implement a Midi-out Gadget already!. Great app. Zero responsiveness from Korg regarding the myriad of forum-requests for the ability to control external gear and/or other apps from within Gadget. The addition of the this functionality would be of great use for reasons too obvious to list here, which reasons having already been exhaustively discussed in online forums. Without having quantitative evidence yet having followed closely any new developments (there were none) up to 2017, peak clamoring for this feature seems to have been flagged as of about a year ago but i suspect this was not due to a loss of interest but due instead to 1) non-responsiveness from Korg as far as delivering - that is, actually implementing this widely requested feature and 2) sheer frustration at Korg’s lack of interest in merely confirming or denying the existence of any plans to implement the feature. So users are stuck with inelegant work-arounds for what would surely be a substantial improvement to such a great app.

Really amazing!. I have only begun to explore the power of this DAW. The amount of drum machines and synth apps you get included in this app is mind boggling...and they are all Korg super machines! Each included Gadget has its own unique properties and sounds...it really is a pleasure to explore. The price is steep but well worth it! I got mine 50% off for Black Friday ☺️ In the iPhone the user interface is very difficult to see, so bring your reading glasses and the way the tracks are stacked was odd to figure out that they were not just loops, but tracks stacked on one another and gadgets side by side. Once you figure that out recording becomes easy, but I still haven't figured out how to advance the cursor to specific areas without hitting play and waiting for it to hit the mark you want. There is a learning curve, but it's not impossible to figure out.

Almost perfect. This app sounds so good and paired with a MIDI controller makes producing quality electronic music almost effortless. I currently only use this and Cubasis for sequencing and, while Cubasis offers a lot more options, I find myself much more productive using Gadget 2 and often produce near complete compositions in one sitting using it. The synths sound amazing. A function I would like to see that may be easy for the developer to implement in an update is the ability to change the time signature or number of steps per instrument part. This would make the app perfect for my purposes.

MAC + IPad version pricing. Gadget is great for quickly developing song ideas, and even writing complete songs, especially, if you later export them to Ableton, and finalize with EQ, compression, etc. The problem I have with Kong and Gadget has to do with pricing, and Korg’s understanding of the customer (I have both the Mac and iPad versions of Gadget, and I also own all the individual Korg instrument plugins on the Mac and IPad). On the Mac, you get all the plugins, and you can use them in any DAW. That is absolutely great - thank you! On the iPad, you don’t get all the plugins, and lots of them are priced as if they’re very special. Korg has a user ID which only knows about my ownership of the Mac version of Gadget, not the individual plugins, and not the iPad versions. The upgrade to Gadget2 on Mac has a special price for me of $100, which gives me nothing new, and I need to spend another $100 on the iPad, to get the plugins that I’m already using on the Mac. Korg can charge whatever they want, but as somebody who likes and owns a lot of Korg products, I find the business and customer side of Korg far behind the technical side. In my opinion, they should know what I own, and make it easy and meaningful for me to upgrade everything, so that I can use any platform, not nickel and dime me in different ways, and ultimately not get another penny from me.

Feels like home, user from day one. Always my go to tool on both iPad/iPhone, studio or on a go. It’s really time for Gadget to take multi audio inputs to work with more than one external synth. Please, please support routing of other app audio to Gadget track. We buy all the native Gadget anyways. Even for the full size KORG apps I would love to drive/record back to DAW, for ex play ARP ODYSSEi with actual ARP and record to Gadget! Supporting AuV3 would be huge! (even as paid option like Taipei for midi). With audio-in routing and AuV3 host will never ran Cubasis or Zenbeats again! Your fellow Gadgeteer, 90% of my music is made/conceived on Gadget, which I ran everyday for past 6 years. TNX!

My favorite music producing app on the ipad. This one is a musthave for anyone who likes to fiddle around with drummachine’s, synths and samplers. Easy to learn, and still allot of options, and extra downloadable gadgets but the gadet2 app comes with enough different machines to get you creating creating stuff. I also like the way the gadgets are designed, both graphics as different options they provide. In fact this my favorite DAW on the ipad, especially if you buy the Korg nanoKEY Studio and the Korg nanoKontroll Studio, 2 midi bluetooth controller made for this app.

Please improve copy/paste tracks between scenes. Please!. Importing a midi file into Gadget has become so much better. Because of that I’ll add another star! Thanks to the Gadget team! Another improvement that I love, being able to transpose selected notes in the piano view. This is a big improvement and adds to a great workflow. The next major improvement is the copy/paste of bars. Moving a bar from one scene to another deletes the previous bars in that scene. Gadget needs to be better at nondestructively moving around bars to different scenes. I should be able to either prepare a place to copy the information or Gadget should ask where to place it (what bar and beat) and built out the existing bar as needed. It doesn’t have to be fine tuned. Just let me copy over one or two bars nondestructively to another scene and I’ll be able to edit the rest as needed. Freedom with editing is what takes a DAW from being a toy to being a useful creative tool. Another improvement, please update the manuals. There are features people need to know about that make Korg Gadget 2 one of the best iOS DAWs. Lastly, Gadget is such a great tool. The sounds, flexibility, and features make it the top DAW for feeding your creativity. My only other request for future expansion would be more acoustic drum and bass Gadgets along with another guitar amp modeling Gadget. Add that with IR importing would be even better!

Update:2024 Gadget v3. Update Jan 2024: Wow. This doesn’t deserve to be called a v3. Nobody wants an electric guitar simulator. The Sydney looper time stretch algorithm sounds awful. The first version of Ableton Live from 20+ years ago sounded better than this. No new fx added to the modules or the mixer. No sequencer improvements. This is a version 2.5 at best. One star added for actually not abandoning Gadget. Update 2023: Gadget 3? Any new modules? Hello? Sound packs are no fun. Sad. Korg abandonware. Update: a General MIDI pack? Disappointing. Dear Korg, Please add some new modules (software Volcas maybe?). Stop with the sound packs from module pro. Gadget is really a 5-star app, but I’m hoping this will get your attention that it needs a refresh and don’t abandon it like some of your other apps. Thanks.

So much in a single app.... Depending on the kind of music you make Korg Gadget is really a one stop shop and even if you need more, it's easy to add it. Or rather, it's easy to export all the separate parts into a daw where you can complete the project with what you want to add. It takes some getting used to because it approaches tracks in a different way than your typical DAW. It's not entirely intuitive but once you learn where everything is and how to do things you realize the logic of how they set it up. That's a good thing because it means you don't have to check the manual constantly. The sound quality is impeccable and with the sheer number of synthesizers and drum machines available, you should never run out of inspiration. I do cinematic progressive rock and I'm constantly creating progressions within Gadget. Generally I create the melodies and some leads and then export to add drums and guitars later. There is a guitar emulation gadget but the sounds in it are seriously lacking. There is a way to record audio into a reel to reel gadget but I haven't tried it yet. I should give it a shot. A few of Korg's standalone apps work in Gadget as well. Gadget sees that you have them on your iPad and asks you if you would like to add them to Gadget. Apps like iM1, iMonoPoly and iWAVESTATION amongst others. I can go on and on but I'll cut it off here. Gadget is simple enough for beginners. It's actually amazing for beginners because it makes music creation accessible without years of music study. I think that's the biggest plus that Gadget offers. It also has enough complexity that seasoned musicians will be able to find something for themselves as well.

Great app with a great big let down!. On the one hand, I really like the majority of this app’s feature set. It is a nice setup, works well, and I have produced, mixed, mastered, and released 6 tracks with it. On the other hand, I have a few BIG issues with it. The reason is simple: I was left to my own devices to figure out how to use a fair share of the Gadgets (plugins) that really need documents that explain features, proper usage, limitations, etc. To me, this is unacceptable for an app that cost $150+ (after I had bought all of the extra Gadget plugins that aren’t included in the base version). The minuscule guide I was able to locate is obviously incomplete (see above ^); it does not include ANY info at all about the following gadgets: the live audio recorder, the clone of the Dr. OctoRex sample manipulator plug-in from Reason Studio, the MIDI I/O device, and the guitar and bass pedals/amp modeling gadgets. These are not insignificant omissions. I have submitted questions about this issue to Korg product support, and they sent me a copy of the incomplete doc I had told them was incomplete, and then ghosted me. No replies to subsequent request for info (also don’t waste your time asking questions on the product info forum, as they will go unanswered, or receive a terse reply and then be disregarded). Overall, Korg Gadget has great potential, once you have learned how to use it, but if you are anything like me, you will feel very bitter about having to fumble your way through learning each plugin on your own and the things you still don’t know how to use after a full year of working with it. Perhaps they will make up for this, and distribute a complete guide in the future? For now, 3 *’s feels generous.

Very good music app, but still has flaws I wish were gone. Whether I draw notes or record it, I find Gadget to have the best workflow of most music apps. I wish I can divide parts of my songs to patterns in Cubasis. It’s also great that you can automate parameters of synths. My biggest problem with Gadget is that some of the Gadget synths don’t need to exist. I think Helsinki is the worst Gadget because it is literally just a tone generator with a sub-oscillator, filter, and bitcrusher. Lisbon and Kiev are what Helsinki should be. I am also disappointed by the lack of oscillator sync in Wolfsburg and Phoenix. Besides, when will MS-20 and Polysix finally have Gadget counterparts. I love Chiang Mai, Kiev, Phoenix, and Kamata. Korg Gadget is often a battery eater depending on the Gadgets. It turns the battery life of my iPad from 8 to 6 hours. Otherwise, I am happy with it.

Back to 5 stars.. Love this app. The sounds are incredible. The look is beautiful. It’s also quite flexible. However, it doesn’t play well with other apps. That’s one drawback, not a big one for me, but maybe big for others. A word on the 3.5 update: Vancouver is INSANELY FUN. I didn’t think I had much use for Lisbon, and I couldn’t afford DeeMax and Vancouver together ($9.99 per gadget is a bit rough, Korg), so I had to go with Vancouver. Funny enough, I had Tweeted Korg just a 1.5 weeks ago that I wanted a Microsampler gadget. Then they released this update and it made. my. day. Vancouver allows you to put two samples together and pitch them together to make an instrument. They have preloaded samples as well as the ability to import your own. It is therefore infinite. You can also set the attack, release, and volume of the samples. You can reverse either sample, if you want, and you can set loop points in the sample, which allows for a continuous note when a key is held. All are important features on a sampler. The real separation on Vancouver, though, is the effects. Rather than the usual Korg selection, they made unique effects section for Vancouver called “space effects.” Slap delay, echo verb, lo-fi reverb, apollo, and debris are some of the effects in it. They are likely just combinations of some of Korg’s regular effects “hard-wired” into individual effects for this particular gadget, but they are also the best kind of effects to have on a sampler. In addition to the two samples, there is a sub-oscillator that lets you put either a sine, triangle, or square wave into the mix if you want. With three tones and the effects, you can get really lush, large sounds. Additionally, there is a vibrato modulation effect with depth and speed control. There is also a portamento knob. I have had so much fun messing with this machine for the past couple of days, it’s stupid. This app isn’t just a rabbit hole, it’s a gopher metropolis. You’ll get lost.

Time for some updates!. There are numerous reviews asking for updates to enhance workflow and make the app better. There hasn’t been any changes yet just sound packs. Apps like Zenbeats have a lot of cool features that can be included or incorporated into gadget to make workflow easier. Gadget is my favorite it’s just sad and uninspiring to have all the other apps updating and listening to users and gadget to only release sound packs. Now if you all are working on Gadget 3 I can’t wait but as a power user and professional I’m just disappointed in lack of attention and making the app better from a consumer perspective. Thanks

I make music again!. I’ve had it all. Computer gear and daws, hardware, iOS daws. Gadget is the one for me. What makes this app so special to me is the simple no frills approach. What this this app makes lacks in bells and whistles, it makes up with its wonderful “gadgets”. They’re like synths, but a little more user friendly. Most apps only have two very small screens to navigate through. There are more advanced apps you can get that’ll get you gagitized versions with more advanced controls. The bottom line though, is this app gives you just about every sound you could ever need, the ability to use your own samples, easy sound design, and a SUPER simple, yet deceptively powerful loop based sequencer. I haven’t even begun to even use Gadget to its full abilities but I’m having so much fun making music again! With AUM and Gadget... I could never update my iPad again and make music forever with what I have.

Still an amazing experience!. I’ve written a review before, so my ratings should be very similar. This app continues to be a complete MONSTER and since I got an iPad, I can finally use Darwin. However, the prices are costly and would recommend buying during a sale. Especially for other apps, as they’re about $30 and this is $40 for a base pack. Other than that, you’ll somehow get lost in such a massive workstation that you’ll end up with one gadget for weeks because there’s so much to control! Hopefully other KORG apps become gadgets, as I would buy those for more expandability. The only things missing are additive synthesis and FM synthesis. If we could get something like that, I’d gladly pay out $30.

Improvements needed. The sounds are great in Gadget but 2 things are needed to make the app better: 1. Create a linear method of recording which is traditionally the normal way of recording and allow users to choose which method they want to record in. 2. Allow users to select what key their song should be in. 3. Put key features like key signature, tempo, metronome, play, rewind, etc. in an easy to find and select transport. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel and let users simply open Gadget and get to recording instead of them trying to figure out how to operate what should be simple, straightforward tasks. Thanks for listening and including these features in your future updates. -AprilRox, Pro Recording Engineer.

A revelation. I started recording music with hardware synths and 4-track tape up to DAW's like logic and pro tools and for me this is the best collection of plugins and the most user friendly set up I have ever experienced. It is designed to get you creating right away. A sonic work flow behind any other . Some of the highest quality soft synths I have ever used ( I'm an analog junkie) I can't believe what you get for the price and what kind of music I can now make on my IPad. Within minutes I had a groovy track and was jamming along on my hardware synth to the fanfare . For any iOS user that produces music this is a must buy . Maybe it's not for everyone but it's definitely for me . Try it!

Almost a DAW. Gadget is really powerful. It’s almost a full fledged DAW. Most of the gadgets are useful, some sound really good. They run 50% sales frequently on all their apps and in app purchases. The only in app purchase I would recommend are Bilbao for the drum sampler, Vancouver for a melodic sampler, Gladstone if you want acoustic drums, and Madrid for bass guitar and upright bass. Gadget has a couple of pretty notable downsides, though. You can’t sample directly in the app with any of the sampler gadgets, sounds must be imported. The vertical workflow is great for working on an iPhone, but it makes the audio recording gadgets almost unusable IMO. When I use audio I load it into one of the sampler gadgets so that I can place it more precisely in the timeline, unfortunately sounds longer than ten seconds get cut off, so I only use very short audio clips. Stems export nicely to Dropbox so that I can finish work somewhere else.

Why not?. The $79 you’ll put into decking this thing out will be easily less money then you will spend on even one decent guitar pedal and you will get so much more mileage out of it. Combine it with AudioBus and other recording software and it becomes a powerful and crucial tool in any recording process you have. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking this is just a toy, it can sample, record and arrange with the best of them. My one ask is that it have more in track filters, but at that point we’re no longer looking for gadgets we’re wanting an entire program for recording and sequencing. out

Great but lost my work. This app is awesome to make your own music, but it’s kinda young so even some basic functionality is missing. I gave four stars because the worst thing possible happened and I lost a song... The way it happened is I was working on a song for several minutes when I needed to export a previous song. I went ahead and opened the previous song and exported. When I went back to my new song, it was missing! Even though I gave it a name it never appeared. I realized after the fact that I did not save my song, however the very basic functionality should exist to tell me to save my work before I open another song. I was not warned or anything, so my user error made me lose work due to missing basic error checking. Any other program on iOS automatically saves... any program on a computer will warn you to save the work before you close it. This lacks those two basic features making loss of work possible.

Update request!. Gadget is dope. Impressive sound library and quicker than the desktop version because of the touch controls. Buy it now if you haven’t already! Below are updates I’m sure the community will love to see soon: *Needs quicker LOCAL sampling. Different gadgets import samples differently. 1. Better Copying/pasting. It’s a hassle because the copy paste menu takes up the entire screen for all tracks to copy/past not just the one you want. It’s visually distracting. Hold down track to bring up individual track edit copy/paste/bars etc 2. Transport controls need to be bigger and modular. There is lots of wasted space at the top where track name is displayed, it would be a great spot for the transport controls instead. 3. Please add master effects and track IFX effects support for Kaoss XY pad for NanoKey Studio controller (master effects control doesn’t go very deep.) Will love to see more robust Master Effects in the form of Gadgets to buy. 4. Overall Needs more support and thoughtful integration for KORG Nanokey Studio controller. Needs better native rotary mapping for each gadget. It would be great if the Gadget UI panels were more customizable and or matched the KORG Nanokey studio controller lay out better. 5. Where’s the Vocoder ?!?!

2023 gadget 2 needs major fixes and a serious upgrade. Korg needs to totally update Gadget! It is crashing on my silicon Mac Studio and iPad Pro silicon constantly and can’t even send midi clock out to my interface to sync my hardware ( only midi note data out ) of TAIPEA with any method or gadget ! And the desktop version can’t even allow saving of user patches yet! ? This daw should behave like any other and at the very least by now should be able to host third party plugins or KORGS own synths hardware but it can’t without proper midi support. Try recording a vocal the length of a song on iOS within gadget you’ll see what I’m talking about ! And they have known about this for several months now but keep claiming they can’t reproduce the issue even after I sent them video and crash reports. Claiming you can’t replicate a problem is the oldest one in the book! And if the are that incompetent that’s even worse than being crooks . It’s been way to long since this daw has been given a thorough update way way overdue from a company this big . Shame on korg! Stop rebranding synths and charging for expensive sound libraries on a seriously neglected Daw that I love and am not happy about what I don’t see happening with this company at all . Oh and the tutorials are horrible and the support is even worse! Hope this helps ! I love Gadget and if korg took it seriously it would crush all the others but they are being irresponsible parents to put it mildly! 👽🫤

Never ever stop development on this app.. By far the most productive I have ever been in almost 30 years of writing music. The workflow is simple and quick and the gadgets are top quality for their complexity. If I had one major critique, it’s that the iCloud file system could be a little more robust. I had built up a nice file structure for some Bilbao samples in my iCloud and discovered that gadget wouldn’t actually see the samples until I imported them from within the app, essentially making duplicates in the cloud. Other than that, would love to see a Triton gadget (I know there’s a sound pack in module, but it’s not the same)

Got developer feedback; Was a 2 now it’s a 1 Star. Having written Korg about a plethora of issues with apps and devices on multiple platforms I’ve finally gotten a response (in this case almost a year later)! Sort of a ‘we’re working on it’. This app has so much potential. While the gadgets are limited, they could function so much better either adequate design. While one of my biggest complaints is the ability to control a cc value is unprecise, the remedy of fine control in the flick is possibly more frustrating than trying dial in with the poor (in-app) knob/value control before.. If it doesn’t like your flick it can throw the value wildly in one direction. The lack of control is terribly apparent in sampler devices like the Abu Dhabi or the Bilbao when it would be very nice to tune samples together or seperately and quickly. (Add a shift button on the lower right hand of the screen!). Also if you’re using samples, the file picking can be brutal. Especially if samples are in a folder. You will have to start at the top anytime you’re searching. It will not return you to where you were in your folder. This might sound picky, but these simple workflow killers have made some process take 10x than necessary and totally taken me out of being creative and iced my vibe on many occasions. I wish Korg would have prioritized getting the Gadget 1 right before sticking a big #2 on it. Research Beatmaker 3 or Cubasis. They may not be as ‘grooveboxy’ or all in 1, but they are vastly superior DAWs that seem to take the users time and effort more seriously. Honestly, if Korg was to make the user experience more reliable, fluid and sweeten the other dark neglected corners this would max out at a 4/5. The reduction in review is ultimately because this thing has been out for years and should be getting better. Korg needs to survey the iOS audio landscape and see that smaller devs are releasing interesting, powerful, work-ready apps and in comparison the Gadget is turning into a toy.

Gadget is a RUSH. Really like the different Gadget synths and drum machines. There is a nice assortment of instruments here. The different tools and layout are nice. App makes creating song parts easy. Korg really keeps things simple and not so convoluted. One issue I had: Importing samples and midi could be a lot more streamlined. Please make a special Korg sampling tool to screen record stereo samples that import with ease in wav and Rex format. Please develop better sample import and file management from various options and source apps within Gadget. This is tedious and limiting as it is as far as importing user samples especially without a wav to Rex file converter. I have had difficulty importing Rex files even after research. A better and simple yet innovative and visual way to grab samples quickly would really make this experience better. I’m being nitpicking for sure, but I’m really trying to give good feedback. Please include a “guitar” gadget with sounds that are a bit more convincing and cover more of the nuances of the instrument. And for Stockholm, please make a dedicate App for creating, managing, auditioning and converting Rex2 files.

Needs more ArPeggios. I recently re-purchased this app after a four year hiatus and have to say Korg knew how to make this App a lot of Fun. It inspires me to write songs on my other hardware instruments And is always a blast to create new beats. A few things though. A lot of the gadget sounds are repetitive from gadget to gadget. I would like to see more organic sounding gadgets. I think Roland XM Junos had super realistic guitar strumming sounds you could control by using the expression wheels. Something like this or a programmable Arpeggio tool would make this app stellar, but it is fun. I also bought the NanoKey and that makes it awesome too, but would love to have more control of the app with the nanoKey.

Love this App, Please separate store from the main recording and mixing part of the app.. I have spent so much money on Korg Hardware, Apps, Gadgets, and Expansions. It would be really nice to separate the store and any Gadgets I haven’t used from the Gadget Selection screen. I feel like I’m being forced to buy every single instrument even though I really have no use for the vintage video game ones, it would be nice not to have these distractions while working on Music. It would also be nice to discount the Mac version for iOS owners who have spent over $200 in Gadgets and Expansions. Your response makes it seems like you are not even reading or listening to what I said. You should still be able to have a separate part of the Gadgets app for buying new gadgets, just like your other apps have a separate store section and don’t have to see things they haven’t purchased when scrolling through expansions they have purchased. I should be able to go through the gadgets I’ve purchased without being forced to see all the overpriced 8 bit video game gadgets I have no want or need for.

Missing Zurich. Just purchased this and Zurich is not in the app. I guess they had problems with recording but I though it was fixed. Did they just take it out instead? Looking further it looks like they took all the audio gadgets out. They’re shown in the pictures of the app. Are they going to put them back in? Also Glasgow is supposed to have all these sounds in it but only has one string sound. Everything else is grayed out? Seems the missing gadgets showed up today. Not sure why they weren’t in there before. Updated my review. Great sounds.

Obsessed. My most used music app on iOS!. I can’t possibly review every in app purchase I’ve made. I love gadget, but ultimately I wish it had more full daw features. Cubasis and Auria pro are more for that work. This app isn’t really for tracking multiple instruments for more than 16 bars. I hate swapping apps though so I mostly stay in gadget... or don’t use it at all. The base package of sounds allows for loads of stuff to get you started, but you might want to pick some of the extra in app purchases to fill out your palate of styles. I recommend Bilbao, Kamata, and Gladstone to name a few. Everything goes on sale regularly for the summer so hold out money’s tight. The sounds that come out of here are so good your brain will EXPLODE! Now that I’ve lost my mind, I have a few ideas for features like add a lyric gadget that lets you do karaoke style lyrics. Custom Pads with an arp like beatmaker 3 would be nice. Using bm3 as midi into gadget is not great as the timing seems to suffer occasionally. Bm3 allows a for a hardware pad to be bound to the bm3 apps pad (focus actions). Allowing a hardware pad midi note to be bound this way allows for scales to be input easily via another menu, along with an arpeggiator. I bring my iPad everywhere because of this app!!!

Korg Add-on!. Gadget is an amazing app. I believe it would go further if the IOS app provided effects for individual samples in the drum sampler gadgets and possibly all gadgets. I wish I could incorporate individual or multiple fx in the drum pads. Also would be cool to see the Korg kaossilaor pro + and kp3 pro + turned into a gadget that had components of routing with other gadgets. All in all I have released finished projects using this app. I would love to see how far it goes as time moves on. I also wanted to add sample files into the drum sample gadgets to have my own imported sounds but noticed nothing showed up. Not sure if it’s possible.

Astonishing. Astonishing ease of use, astonishing complexity and deep visual editing of any parameter. + Pairing with korg hardware controllers with instant setup. And dont get me started on V3 I’ve produced many many tracks with 1&2 had my old favorite synths at my finger tips along with the iconic sounds of the M1 resampled into other gadgets. But v3 isnt just a pretty reskinning. The interface weirdnesses have been reworked to allow THE BEST experience and SOUND of dance music production I’ve ever had in any DAW IOS or Desktop. The only small gripes are the long form recording of an entire vocal. And lack of pitch correction (pitch shift is covered) for the same. Small concerns: Regarding the 6.00 version update. in the new loop sampler theres a small bug in the output sometimes that produces a high pitch whining tone after playing a user sample. There might be some way to warn users of an IPADs CPU and memory use for using too many effects plugins which eventually if you are a greedy user with massive track effects added will crash the playback.

A solid mobile DAW. I purchased KORG Gadget as a complete newcomer to digital audio workstations. After a slight learning curve, I was pleased to find a very full-featured program that was simple and convenient to use. I particularly like how the gadgets themselves group sounds and samples to make it easy to find the vibe you’re looking for. If I have one complaint, it’s that this program has a limited release to other platforms. I would love to be able to work on songs either at home on PC or on the go on my tablet.

The best beginners program ever. This music software is the most legitimate out there! It’s as if you have all the real instruments - modules, synthesizers, and more in person just compact in a little screen that gives you all but non ending sounds, and it’s up to one to come up with what ever comes to mind. I love to use gadget! it’s fast once you teach yourself to use it. The quality of the sound is the same as it is in a real professional recording studio as well as voice instruments. I will always say this is my favorite hobby and passion to do and I plan to keep using it to produce cool beats. Two thumbs up for sure and 5 stars all the way!

Good for Urban Music Production - needs a bit more. I have been using v3.3.2 for a few weeks now and I really like it. My first degree is in Recording Arts (now I work in electrical engineering) and I have owned quite a bit of music gear. Now that I am making room for children and making music less of a priority, I really needed a more compact solution for music production - Gadget (paired with a Korg NanoKey Studio controller) has been a great compromise. My only complaints are in how irritating it can be to work with pre-recorded loops. Even with Bilbao and Abu Dhabi (an MPC-style sampler and a loop "mangler") loops aren't as straight forward as one would expect. When I work with loops, features like auto-chop and time-stretch can be really helpful. I would also love a way to record audio tracks - but this can be done in other software. For the price, Gadget is totally worth it - but, if Korg wants to help me out with the loops thing, that'd be great;)

Reason alone to buy an iPad. For a while I felt silly, that I had bought an iPad Pro as it was honestly just collecting dust. Then I found this app and started making music every single day. It’s probably 99% of what I use my iPad for, I’m able to make more creative music now than I ever have. The one weakness here is this is a very expensive app, once you buy all the plug-ins and it the sister apps that work with it, you’re probably at about $300. However if you know anything about music production, each one of these plug-ins on a Mac would probably cost you about $100 each. So it does end up being a very good value if you’re serious about making music. I would not buy this if you’re not open to spending at least another $50 on the various plug-ins. Thank you Kong

The grand Gadget 2 Review. 🖖🏻Well done Korg, Gadget 2 is looking up so don’t stop. The initial offering price was a stroke of genius, couldn’t have resisted given this special price. Have owned and still love all the Korg keyboards I played such as the Polysix, DSS-1, Triton and others. The reason 4 stars was offered for this new release instead of 5, was certainly not due to any lack of effort by the Korg programmers (the Korg sonic quality is thankfully still intact), but...If...only Korg could envision the wisdom of reducing the prices of the many other gadgets and instruments that were -not- included with G2, during this same introductory period, with ‘special’ discounts of their own, well then laddies, could you imagine how many of us would immediately attempt to dig as deeply as possible to add not merely one, but -several- of those additional gadgets/instruments sitting there alone in the iOS shoppe? Such a grand, generous gesture by Korg to so many loyal musicians would generate good will, and surely have the competition’s marketing departments hanging their heads shame. A bit of extra income would give Korg more time and incentive to remain hard at work on the next batch of improvements we need! 🎹🎼🎶😎

Greatest Gadget Ever!. I started with the free version years ago and never really used it. I recently got a new iPad and wanted to give Gadget another chance - and I I really enjoyed it…so I bought every possible upgrade for it. It’s so much fun and so easy to use. I love the simple/purpose-built modules concept. They sound incredible as well. My only complaint it that it could used some better output options and native file compression algorithms. I’ve been playing/recording music for nearly 50 years - and this is my favorite musical ‘gadget’ ever!

Limitless creative power at your fingertips. KORG Gadget is an incredibly powerful, feature rich, music production & mobile DAW for IOS. It only took me a few sessions until I became familiar with the workflow and interface of Gadget. After which, my tracks really started to really take off. If you own Korg Module, Korg iM1, or ODYSSEi you will have 7 additional instruments in Gadget to choose from. While these additional instruments are a huge plus, they certainly are not a requirement to make brilliant tracks. Recently they have added 3 new instruments comprising; a very realistic sounding acoustic drum module with loads of kits to choose from, An electric and acoustic bass module with a wealth of options and cabinets to choose from, and an 8bit video game music module by Konami. To summarize; Korg Gadget has a very intuitive user interface with dynamic control over every track. Creating high quality music on a mobile DAW has never been this addictive. This is unequivocally by far my favorite Music Production app on iOS period.

WE GOT A SAMPLER!!!! :D. Update: YAYY!! Thanks for listening and getting us a sampler KORG! You guys are awesome. Absolutely loving this update! THE SAMPLER IS AMAZING!! It even has portmanteau. And the Decimator knobs don’t spazz out when I adjust them :D ——— Old: Bluetooth headphones work! Just set audio latency to fast when you want to jam and it syncs fairly well, with acceptable, surprisingly low latency. Really impressive. I'm using the JBL Reflect Minis. Gladstone+Madrid Review: It took a long time for me to buy these two because I really didn't understand what they were, mainly Madrid. Gladstone is essentially a drum rompler and Madrid is a bass rompler (sort-of). Gladstone comes loaded with 20 kits and 120 completely usable sounds, including percussion. I LOVE the ambient control! Makes spacing drums beyond easy. Madrid is a bit different and is more like a Module. It comes with 10(+?) basses—about 6 electric and 4 acoustic—spread out over 31 presets. Each preset contains a bass with a different play style, which is important to remember, because you cannot set the bass nor play style without selecting a preset. The sampled basses vary, but most sound great, with tight, clear transients. The 5 amps sound really good and so do the effects! All in all, I'd recommend Gladstone to anyone and Madrid to those who'd like a more organic sound with their basses. Original Review: I used to dream of this type of ease, simplicity, and power for making music on the go. Major thanks to Korg and the devs for this, because it is truly a phenomenal experience using Gadget.

Has everything I need, easy to use, gadgets are fun. With the release of Gadget 3 I had the urge to finally get around to writing a review. To me Gadget is all about providing a streamlined DAW experience while still giving you nice quality of life features like scales (and now an arpeggiator and help with chords). In the iOS space it is easy for music apps to go overboard and try to provide a “desktop” experience that doesn’t quite work when you’re using your fingers. Buttons are too small, or there are too many of them and it’s hard to remember what something does without tooltips, or there are a lot of menus hiding everywhere. Gadget understands the limitations of touch-based interfaces and works with them, giving you a simple interface that is easy to use with your fingers. Even the iPhone app is easy to use despite having less space. The piano roll is easy to use and I never have to fiddle with zoom levels. The UI of each individual gadget is big enough for my fingers. Next the breadth of the gadgets themselves makes me really productive. It is similar to how with Ableton Suite you could probably spend your whole life making music without buying third party plugins. The design of the gadgets are focused on quick sound design rather than unlimited depth. As a result of all of this Gadget has a fast workflow where I don’t have to think much about how to do something. The gadgets have so much personality too, like it’s just cool I can actually tap the pads on the drum machines to perform if I want to. The new update is awesome too, being able to search across all gadget presets by timbre/purpose makes it easier for me to find a suitable sound and discover things I never noticed before. If I had one criticism it’s that the drop-down fields for the arp and chord pages are very small on the iPhone and it takes me a few attempts sometimes to activate them or tap the left and right buttons. The rest of the app is very usable on the iPhone and this UI gives me more trouble.

Finally a solid multi use iOS DAW 4 the iPhone. Maybe I’m biased as I’ve been a Korg guy since the days of the Triton when I was a teen. I’ve been keen to the flexibility of Korg‘s sequencers for a while, so the nature of Gadget 2 makes a lot of sense to me. The keyboard controls for the synth leave much to be desired with the phone as a sole interface in comparison to apps like GarageBand or even beatwave, however the updates to midi in and out have made this so much easier to lock in ideas that I can commit to. Wish there was more flexibility with audio period as doing midi out to another iOS synth, committing audio and flying in doesn’t have the same flexibility of cutting audio as GB or iMPC 2. Currently automation rides are the only work around.

Cool idea - bad product. That’s it. It’s a cool idea and you would be happy to play with it for some time, but if you only step above and try to do something bigger, you notice what a bad product this app is. For example, if you open another project - you just open another project. In ecosystem where all apps autosave that is fine. Even big video editors like Final Cut do that: your every step is recorded and you get back to last state of your project, always. Not here: there are no ‘unsaved warnings’ or anything. You just later learn that several hours of work and 70% of your track are gone. It is just rude to the user. Obviously usually people have more than one app and being cross-habbit isn’t good UX. You either do old-school ‘save’ but with all the warnings and reminders, or you ditch the warnings but do proper modern auto-save. Otherwise your design will always be out of logic and hard to get used to. Then copying and pasting. While you have 3-5 tracks and say, 6 rows - it’s more or less ok to handle. But as soon as your track grows it becomes a real pain: there are no other ways to mark anything than small text in the beginning of the line. In “copy and paste” mode the whole table dims and is covered with small text buttons like ‘copy’, ‘delete’ and so on. Add this to small same-looking names and you have a confusing page of small text. Then, copy works once. So you can’t copy once and paste 3 patters in new location. You’ll have to scroll and tap like crazy, being VERY attentive along the way. I can go on. But the bottom line is: on the first glance Gadjet promises to be a powerhouse ready for full tracks or even live performances (i did not even touch it here!) - but turns out to be quite limited with GUI and workflow, mostly with things that look like unfinished or not-well thought out features. So it is still powerful and great, but be ready to behave like in the office, do a lot of ‘procedures’, keep up to ‘the process’, ‘manage’ your patterns and files and so on. It does not sound very music to me even if synths and sounds are great:(

Great and terrible synth DAW. Hire me to work on QA/QC for Korg software! My concerns haven’t been addressed after years of using this program and losing work. The playback may or may not start on the section you are on or the section you were previously on. Banks of samples in bilbao may just disappear and turn back to default for no reason, destroying your sample based composition (unless the entire bank of samples is saved, not just the project). You cannot move files around or all samples will be forgotten. Audio recording may occur in a different frame than the one which is selected to be recorded on, with no way to undo once you pull out of the frame to see what happened. Desperately needs an auto-save or at least a warning message before losing the app or opening a new project file reminding to save your work! All of these problems have turned a vital program into a torturous nightmare of lost work. Stay away from this app for composition!!! This is only useful for the synth voices. I recommend NEVER recording into this crucially flawed and broken app.

Amazing app. Hands down my favorite iOS daw to use, I’ve bought most of the extra gadgets and standalone that run as gadget. I’d like to see some more ifx and some kaoss controls... it’s 10x better on iOS than switch if you’re wondering, touch controls make more sense, things flow. Switch feels odd with a controller, and switch has no extra gadgets or ifx at all. Gadget reminds me a lot of FL studio as far as workspace and flow, very easy to copy patterns, move and edit patterns. The built in gadgets could get you through plenty of songs, but some of the purchase gadgets are well worth it and compliment the available gadgets. I’d highly recommend this, I use it more than Cubasis or GarageBand.

Great app sad to see korg is not updating the app.. Korg gadget is 1 of the coolest app for iphone music creating. Once you have Korg Gadget on your iPhone and your on a bus, plane, train or any where and get inspiration you can just make it. Once you get home because it save on icloud you can open the same file on your Ipad or you can transfer the files to dropbox and from dropbox you open the files on your favorite music software like Reason, Ableton live, Bitwig, Fl studio, cubase ect ect. It very sad that Korg is not updating this cool app.😔 This App needs serious update. It needs a way easier to add your own samples, it needs a way to slice your audio and manipulate audio better. I now korg want to sell there midi controller for this app, but korg some us we have midi controller that can do way more than your small midi controllers. It will be cool for Korg to give us the MIDI Implementation for the mixer or at least let us buy to open the mixer so we can controller the mixer with our own controllers. Soon it 2024 so it be cool to see korg gadget version 3.

I love Korg. 😎. So... this is an amazing daw. However, it could be better. What it does well: excellent sound quality. Signature classic synths, easy to use interface. Lots of options you literally don't need any other daw, has audio input for guitar, vocals, etc... it's a beautiful feature rich daw by a brand that has a legacy that is 2nd to none. Where it needs to improve: while the interface is unique... it is also counter intuitive to all other daws, the scroll down feature instead of left to right does not feel natural. While they try to separate themselves and stand out It's not an improvement and it feels like a struggle to visualize where things go. If this is your first daw it won't matter but when you try one in landscape you will say... " oh wow...this makes more sense." It really disrupts the flow. There is no counter, at least not one I could find that tells me song length, so I have to use a stop watch on my phone to see how long my song is? That seems like a basic feature.

Gadget is on another level!. I’ve been using Gadget for a long time now. I’ve been making the best music I’ve ever made, it lets me focus more on the music. My biggest gripe at the moment is simply that I can’t get the new gadgets on my phone, ie- the iMS20 Gadget, I have it on my ipad, why can’t I get it on the iPhone? All I mostly make music on, is my phone. It’s the reason I fell in love with Gadget, because I can make music anywhere, but I don’t bring my iPad everywhere, I ALWAYS have my iPhone on me. Other than that, I even love the update, now I can use AU synths in AUM with Gadget controlling it, I love it. Just please don’t ever change the workflow too much, it’s close to perfection the way it is. Great App. Highly recommended.

A few months in.... I like most styles of music but prefer the old school sounds. I added Gladstone and Madrid to my gadgets and they give me exactly what I want. I’ve been mixing a little Gladstone with some Recife to get a nice mix of old and new sounds. Madrid gives me the big, driving bass sounds I have always loved and layering some extra bass from other gadgets gives me that same blend of old and new. I can get some decent lead sounds out of Madrid that emulate a real electric guitar and there’s a few decent guitar sounds on other gadgets but a dedicated guitar gadget with trills, slides, different bends(prebends, half/whole/whole+half), hammer on/offs, whammy bar/pedal, manual wah, alternate tuning, palm muting, chucking, finger tapping, etc would be great. Rosario does a great job of processing guitar sounds but I’d like to be able to add realistic sounding guitar even when my axes are not at hand.

Gadget.... An excellent sketchpad, get all the extra bits. I wish you could make it clip based instead for each individual track to make polyrhythms, that there was an overdrive on each channel and the clips could be arranged in song mode, but each individual track has the option of export and that is good enough. I will one day wander the wilderness with my iPad pro in hand, making music everywhere and anywhere.

Best iPad app. This has to be hands down the best app for making music for the iPad. Only feature I think it's missing is being able to set what scene and track to jump to within another scene and track.

Great sounds! Great Sequencer!. Really intuitive, thoroughly enjoying this app and with the "in scale" keyboard makes for even more fun making music, I'm surprised there are not more reviews for this app. It's great! Couple of things need attention, Audiobus does work but you must load Gadget via the Audiobus store, please fix as I can see myself using this on a plane with no internet :/. One more thing, please please please add audio tracks with adding available via iTunes. I'm sure not an easy task but if had beat detectable capabilities as simple as GarageBand iOS this would be it for me on iOS and many others looking to jam with loops in there sample library. Cheers.

Great toolbox. Very well organised beat writing software. Love aloof the sounds, though a wider range of bass sounds would be helpful. Impressed with sequence editing layout and design.

brilliant fun. Fantastic sounds, intuitive workflow. Needs landscape mode, a way to import samples and an audio recording function to be truly useful. As it stands, its perfect for non-vocal electronic music production. The built-in synths cover a wide sonic palette, and the sequencing is fast and fun.

Needs landscape mode next update. The title for this is pretty much my main gripe. Midi clock in/out would be a massive improvement too. iOS music is becoming all about intergration with other software. Producing 'In the box' is great with Gadget, but the ability to have the 'box' do it's thing in conjunction with the other amazing ios music tools available is something we're all keeping our fingers crossed for

Not so secret weapon. What can I say. Don’t buy it, it’s terrible, the portability of idevices is tough right, as is the arsenal of synths & drum machine/samplers korg has dropped on us. You can even touch them. They purr. Some scream. Most moan or sigh. All of which actually do what you ask them to do, without complaining & manage to look good while accomodating you. Not an easy task in today’s crowded dirty day clubs. Please don’t misunderstand me when I say The word dirty, I mean it! This app is so dirty you’ll clean house & only want to hang out with gadg & who would blame you ??? Not me you cheeky cassuary hey !!! Keep my good eye on you I will, in the mean time I’ve experimented with a lot of hard things posing at the real deal only to be a toy or really handy if used as a door stop!

Disappointed. As a professional recording studio owner, I am absolutely disappointed after purchasing this product. It is laggy beyond believe on an iPad Air and the latency does not change even after adjusting the preferences. My iPad has more than this App on it and nothing is laggy. I owned over 5 different hardware synths from Korg over the last years and they all worked fine. I would like my money back!

Outstanding Portable DAW. I love this app. I use it almost every day. It's allowed me to get back into making music which is brining me lots of joy. The synths are great, the system very good. Is it perfect? No, but for a mobile app it's wonderful.

Fantastic upgrade!. Sooo much easier to find gadgets, love many other additions,....especially Sydney. Love from Oz 🥰

Only import standard midi file?. I’m NOT going to purchase any additional packs for Gadget until I can import WAV files. There’s only an option to import standard midi files. I can SEE the wav files in my Dropbox folder, but they are greyed out! I import the midi files, then of course they only present themselves in the default piano. I have Gadget on my iPhone and iPad, and really wish this could be easier. Please!!!!

Fantastic. This app gets better with every major update, a real joy to use!

The best iPhone or iPad app ever!. I have been a devoted korg user for Year’s. I started with a i5s midi backing sequencer and later got into KORG legacy cell on pc. But this app is the best thing they have come up with. It’s a complete sequencing station with all the great quality sound I’ve come to love from KORG. I do have to get an iPad due to the iPhone 5s’s small screen. But I find it so easy to create and complete tracks totally in app. I do have ableton live 9 but I prefer relying totally on the app and exporting the audio. I payed $200 (ruffly) with the in app purchases. I just wish there was a pc version. I’d pay the same again if they did that.

excellent!. great app! easy to use, great sounds, look forward to more modules becoming available. two issues: firstly, when duplicating scenes and reordering it is difficult to distinguish which is which - it would be nice to be able to rename them ("verse, chorus 1, chorus 2, etc) or assign colours or something in the alexandria module, on assigning the rotaion function to a MIDI channel for a footswitch (e.g. CC64) it should toggle between fast and slow (as in the organs in korg module, and as on a hammond B3 etc). instead, it toggles between fast and stopped.

Can't change presets. Just purchased and installed, only to discover that there seems to be a bug in many of the browsers that is a major downer. For example, in "Glasgow", can only choose one preset: "Strings". In Amsterdam, can't change the sample assigned to pads. Bummer.

Sydney Sampler Doesn’t Sample. The new Sydney Sampler does not seem to Sample. It doesn’t have any facility for recording samples. There are already two Sample players in Gadget.

Quality App for Live performance, music production.. Loving the App but I do miss the Soundcloud integration and the charts. I know it needed improvements but missing it a lot. This App brought me back from the dead and gave me meaning to life. Buy the App you won’t regret, thanks Korg.

New. New to music apps , this tends to crash if I get to busy. Could be I just ain't driving it right !! But there's a shipload of sound @ less than a finger tap away . I m digging that bit

Korg. Absolutely love this software, vst’s are cheap and good value for money, I got both midi controlers and they work a treat thanks Korg keep those vst’s coming

Works with ABLETON. It really does.. Really fun to sketch out tunes on. It's quite inspirational actually. Very intuitive operation. But the real genius is it's flawless compatibility with Ableton Live. Just press a button and the sounds are saved as WAVs in an Ableton session. Brilliant.

Trouble (fixed!- user error). Just updated and now all my gadgets are gone.. restoring purchases doesn’t work :( My bad - I was trying to open the gadgets list on an audio track and all the other gadgets were not showing.. lesson learned.. :)

Serious Lagging Issues.. On my Ipad 3 anyway, can't seem to handle the load, my only option for smooth playback is to export the session, other than that, very slick.

Life changer. This app came to me too late in my life. Better late than never. Very intuitive and friendly user experience. Great truck load of sounds to play with. I use this as a go anywhere writing tool. In that regard it has truely changed my life. Enjoy!

Great app. A very nice app, it would be even better if they put the polysix etc into it as well. I find it quite useful for fleshing out basic ideas due to the ease of use and amount of synths.

Zoom!!!. I am 1 starring this app for 1 reason. Zoom control. It is an incredibly important tool of any note editing piano roll and it is almost impossible to control on this app! It's so frustratingly bad that I don't use the app at all any more. I am amazed how people are getting by with it as is. Currently it has about a 5mm area in which you need to pinch within to zoom, for anyone with adult size fingers this is a difficult challenge, and if you miss the area by 1mm you end up drawing notes or deleting them. Please this should be an easy thing to fix and will change this 1 star to a 5 star.

KORG's great addition to APP Store. This is a programme for those who love synthesizer music and is fantastic for those wanting to compose some of their own music. The various gadgets have great musically useable sounds and a very good interface to do that with. Gadget also has a SoundCloud facility so you can listen to what others are doing and/or upload your own creations. This is without doubt the best music APP going. I'm totally enthusiastic about this programme. Well done KORG's.

Get it. It makes you sound good. Easy to use so less time figuring out how the tool works and more time creating. Very robust. I can't think of a time it crashed. Also some very cool instruments. Worth every penny.

Latest version is no good. Latest update, 1.2.4, has a glitch. Delay times seem to have been altered. So my guess is that if you download this version, and then they fix it in a later update, then all your delays will sound wrong. Wait for next version.

Not bad, but needs landscape!. Not bad for a version 1 product, but please, please, please, for the love of all that's holy, give us landscape! Switch the views to side by side and it will work fine - who on earth thought portrait only was the right way to go??

Bad update. After the last update I am now being charged again for samplers I brought over a year Please help!

Great. It’s great. Buy it.

Great sketch pad. I use Gadget as a sketch pad to work on new ideas. I like the Gadgets but would like to see a traditional style sampler.

Fun!. Great workstation, endless fun. KORG transcended to the digital medium far better than the proverbial ‘duck to water’

This is the best app. I've bought and used several music production apps. So far this is great, since I have purchased all the gadgets the possibilities are endless. Combined with Korg tactile triton is just magic. The only glitch is that working with the iPad 2 sometimes it can't handle the sounds, the app takes too much cpu. I need to upgrade my iPad :(. This app is just amazing👍👍👍👍👍👍

Classic stuff!. Such a good balance point between quick sound programming and sculpting the sound you want. And everything sounds so good! Personally Phoenix is my favourite subtractive synth of any kind! Beautiful! Instant love for this app, and it just makes you make music, I'm instantly making tracks because I don't get bogged down in sound design. Really excited about what the future holds, keep it up!

Amazing and fun - perfect addition to the family. Awesome app well done. Needs an arpeggiator and better midi keyboard support ( mod and pitch ) impressive how much you fit into this app.

The best.. Over the years I haven't been a massive Korg fan although I must admit, when they get something right it is usually sensational. This is one of those times. Gadget is quickly becoming my 'go to' app for almost everything. The workflow is unbeatable for quickly sketching out ideas without stop, start interruptions and the sounds are worthy of final production mixes. Well done Korg.

Save function too broken to make this worth it. Seriously the most aggravating app I’ve ever used, don’t get me wrong the workflow and sound is amazing, and it would be quite possibly my favourite app, if it ever saved anything, I’ve stopped using this after purchasing a bunch of the add on synths as it simply will not save my files, I’m sick and tired of spending 8 hours working on great new music, hitting save, having it tell me the save is completed, only to come back the next day and find NOTHING was saved, and that’s practically every time I use it, I’m tired of losing my work and until this is addressed I refuse to waste anymore time at all, and it’s not my device, I’m running this on a brand new iPad Pro.

Awesome. Although I would love to see options like midi out and audio tracks implemented at some stage, gadget is still an amazing little app. For my preferred workflow it has the best midi input mode of any iOS music app

Synthesiser Museum!. I love this app, especially the re-created vintage synths. My only issue is that the buffering can be inadequate if you play a fairly busy music piece.

Impressive!. THIS app IS worth having! I don't usually write reviews, but occasionally, be it positive or negative, I'll write one. Especially if I feel strongly about something. I've had this app for a while and have played with it on and off, and now I've rediscovered it! I love that it's similar to the 'Ableton' approach in that you're working in 'cells' of music. Once you understand the basic operation of the app, your creativity can run wild with a wide array of useful and fun sounds. Anything from fat bass lines, to gentle pad sweeps, to funky drum grooves can be achieved. You can also modulate all of these sounds quite easily and on the fly to really spice things up. Where my mind was blown was the exporting option, via Dropbox, right into Ableton itself (with a few clicks). AWESOME! Again, the sounds are super and of course your world really opens up then. I've now been able to create sounds that previously were challenging, right from my iPad and it's refreshed my whole approach to writing directly this way. The app is not perfect but it's absolutely on the right track and worth your hard earned... Look into it!

amazing audio. Gadget is simply the best audio app, well worth the price, and the update is welcome, but the two AIP together is about half the price again of the full app. would be nice to add an electribe in as well, i still have my actual little korg electirbe. And would love some more trance sounds and effects from those classic korgs synths. A mastering track/channel with effects would be nice.

Great Sound. This is an excellent step sequencer. It has many synthesisers or "gadgets" which can be put on different tracks and it is easy to produce songs or backing tracks. There are several different drum machines to suit differing tastes. I can compose on it too. There is now a recording gadget as well. I will say that to seek support on a small issue I have been sent on a wild gooses chase.

Nice. Great app, I have had no issues and it runs like a dream on ipad4. Regarding scales though I would prefer it if they were customizable.

Brilliant starting point!. Amazing app! As someone who uses hardware and software for production, this app might just make a few bits of gear redundant. There is some features I hope to see in future updates, mainly an "Undo" function, zoom ability and a "select all" function in piano roll. Copying and pasting clips would be handy too and renaming channels. Apart from that, amazing sounds, great workflow, brilliant effects and finding automation lanes was a massive bonus!

Top notch. Highly workable interface for quickly and easily jamming out some surprisingly complex tracks. The synth and drum machine sounds are all top notch as you would expect from Korg. Sequencing is quick and easy, as is recording parameter automation. There are some quirks and idiosyncracies in the work flow at the moment (copying track sections and highlighting can be a bit fiddly for example) but I hope and suspect that Korg will continue to support this great environment. Worth every cent!

Sound dropping out. Disappointed that V2 keeps having sound dropouts. Hopefully this glitch will be fixed quickly... sick of re-booting. Come on Korg!

Good But Not Great. Unless you have a good music background, this is really not worth the money. The interface is clunky. There is no 'undo' button. There doesn't appear to be any preset rhythm options. It's OK fun to play with, however, Garage Band offers quicker and easier results.

Really great app digital music. Really good app for combining several musical "skills", depth of features and instruments and configs make it fun to explore, the additional instruments are well worth the it... Once I got into it and could afford them... Hope there's more bundles coming soon.

Great.. I have run whole bands off this app. MIDI out. Ableton out. Raw audio out. Even sampling other apps. In my experience if you are learning about sequencing or synths or midi or Ableton or whatever this is the perfect iOS companion.

Only the best music app for iOS/Mac. Absolutely genius, have been waiting for an app like this for a very long time.

Amazing App!. Very well thought out and simple but effective. Perfect for newcomers and more advanced alike. Please keep developing this app and adding new cool gadgets. This is my go to and favourite of all apps for music creation and beat sketching. Hats off to the developers @ Korg.

One of the only apps you need. Ive been a fruity loops user from day one and this program blows fl studio out of the water. Ive downloaded many synthesizers and this app contains so many synths with epic sounds you could just have an ipad and Gadget on a desert island and you'd never be bored. Ok. I'll calm down now.

Last update killed it. The app no longer shows a play button in the controls at the bottom below the instrument. Just a greyed out “eternal sync” neither will it play from the project menu. This has been going downhill since Gadget 2 launched. Also erased saved projects. It’s tie to Dropbox only is annoying. Guess I’ll be deleting this once useful app.

I like. For creating rave and dance… it is cool… I can create a wad of loops and various sounds and ever keep going on and on and on ever changing. It works with ,u launch key

Excuse me ?. Listen I don’t know what you have going on at your company as of lately but as someone who has been a loyal consumer of your products for years hardware and software, I’m genuinely tired of you insulting us as customers with stupid purposed business tactics cool we get you want to make money but you can also do that with out ruining your own reputation with loyal customers. The fact I paid 54.99 for this app only to not be able to have a play button anymore. How do you leave that out ? Seriously what are you doing over there. You slap people in the face with the wave state mk2 release which has NO difference…okay I got over that but this is literally my last straw as a paying customer. As of today I will never buy anything from you ever again in fact I’m probably going to sell everything I have with your name on it. This is a disgusting business practice goodbye sad to see such a great legacy be ruined by greedy idiots.

Great App. Great app , has a few shortcomings as have been mentioned in previous reviews, but all in all very pleased

5 stars always. This app is like its own musical universe… but it plays so well within the iOS music making realm… and now with AuV3 capabilities and all Gadgets being compatible with Audio Units, I MUST say that for any mobile music maker this app is a MUST HAVE!

😳😳😳. 😳

Wow. Keep up the great work Korg! You are changing the game!

Thank you. Gadget is fun, useful and easy to use. Great for song starting, with super easy exporting options. Would love to see a few more gadgets please. Cuz I have them all!!

Great experience with some minor complaints. I’ve been addicted to using this app since I downloaded it. I just wish there was an undo button and a way to remove modules.

So dope.. So so dope.

Top shelf🤘. I am fairly new to music creation apps but the second u download Gadget and open it up, u quickly realize how great it is...soo easy to use and such amazing instruments packed in, u can’t believe it’s only $54.99...there r more boards to purchase but the prices r well within reason...to buy everything in hardware form would cost u a fortune yet here is a full recording studio plus in the palm of your hands for the price of family nite at McDonalds...get it now and fill your world with music like I did...thank u Korg!

Great, but need amp sim update. This app is great! But the amp sims for bass and guitar could use an update/overhaul they sound dated. But all the synths sounds are great!

Excellent app. Sounds are very good quality. Can’t wait for the Audio Units compatibility!

Insane features. I use the TAIPEI midi out feature to control an old Alesis SR16 from the 90s. Makes input and song creation so much simpler.

Great Deal for quality and quantity. You get a ton of high quality synths and other thingies. I send in MIDI to control multiple gadgets. Now with the new Taipei midi out gadget, you can add any external sound source, whether hardware or synth as a gadget. If you do the math, you will see how cheap each gadget is. Synths, Samplers, every type of sounds. And that piano roll! Man, what a treat!!! Korg is pricing gadget soooo fairly. You want it. No possible regrets. Get gadget and have so much fun.

Last update sucked. The last update completely erased full tracks. Set some tracks back to an old unsaved version. Totally unacceptable. Such disappointment. And still no pc version. Fail

Classic! Still great after all these years!. An iOS staple, must have! Hope Gadget 3 is happening!

Can’t recommend enough. Check out my track “Lunar Soldier” by TLV SEVRUN on YouTube. I’m still blown away I can produce this level of music on my iPad.

At least put clip fades on Zurich.... Yeah, I love the thing, but the development continues to be an onslaught of mixed genius and full on arrogance. A $15 CAD IAP for a bloody ugly gain fader? Still poor audio implementation on so many levels (ever heard of clip fades, or did Mozart disapprove of those over in Zurich lol?) If they would just LISTEN to user advice about some really basic stuff, it would be so easy to go that extra star...but given all the annoying idiosyncrasies, and the fact that they LIED when they promised FREE GADGETS to initial adopters...no.

Great times. I think that no one will enjoy every thing this gives you, but over half of them I’ve gotten looots of enjoyment out of. Just the Keyboard app alone is probably worth what I spent on it. Highly recommend.

He best the virtual world can offer.. It’s not going to be everything to everyone, but there’s nothing better happening on the iPad.

Super. I love gadget, I have been using it since it came out on the iPad originally. It's evolution has been great. Love the sounds. All the utilities , like export to MIDI, audio tracks are great. I only wish now for AUv3 plugin support in 2 ways: to be able to run AUv3 plugings in gadget and have each gadget available has AUv3 plugins for other apps.

Favorite pre set.. Is there a way to have favorite pre sets that you can quickly change between?

Best app ever. I love this app more than any other

Over rated.. This app is an expensive toy. Does not support external midi control via older keyboards which is somewhat dis-appointing. You can however control externally if your willing to spring for Korgs own midi-controller keys. Which I am not willing to for another ‘toy’.

Great Fast Intuitive DAW. A favourite . Keep developing for this ecosystem and I’ll keep buying whatever you put out !

Great synths, so-so drums. This is a fun app to use to make music tracks. The synths sound legit and cleaner than their vintage counterparts. However, the PCM ROMpler and drum sounds have a low grade, gritty sound quality to them, as if Korg compressed them to take up less space. How about adding a drum machine that has pro quality samples? Please and thanks.

Simply amazing. Hard to find a better app on iPad who is more easy to use and gives you instant music making.

A whole world of creativity. I’ve had gadget for three years now and every time I open it up I’m inspired more and more. Wether I’m in Coffee shops, walks, or waiting for an appointment etc. I find just the right sound to propel me into another dimension and creation.

Lots of promised feature updates that fizzled out. Greedy korporation will sell you the same sounds over and over and over and over and over and over again… and again and again and again…

Music as a Game. Love this app. Have it for Switch and iOS. It makes music creation into a co-op game like experience. Sure it’s slightly limited. However those limitations are there to keep the creation process flowing. Having too many little functions and processing abilities would distract from this app’s true purpose... Music creation as a fun, easy and co-operative experience. Anyone complaining about the app is likely expecting it to function like a DAW on their Mac. If that’s what you’re looking for then download Cubasis or Auria Pro. This app is designed to make music creation fun and intuitive. It’s definitely not designed to replace your Pro Tools rig. Make music quickly, collaborate and first and foremost, have fun. Gadget 2 does this perfectly. Thanks Korg

Amazing App. Korg so far has been the greatest audio workstation I’ve worked with. Every single instrument/gadget is simple to use and packs mighty punch and each one has an enjoyably unique sound. Only criticism is the lack of FM synthesis which I hope could be added later

Cash cow. Charging for iPad and iPhone versions separately, plus then double dipping for all extra gadgets charged twice, is total BS, never mind that every new gadget is an extra charge. I just bought moog model 15 and it works on both iPad and iPhone, no double dipping and it's quality, not crap like gadget. Gadget is a money pit that's nothing but a toy.

Great tool!. Promotions all around. This app is a great music creation tool.

Not Perfect. Hi ! Imported samples are no longer than 5 seconds in Balbao which makes the workflow tedious. Caustic 3.0 is better for that. I wish London could import samples :) Too many chip sound gadgets and redundant. Please make an Oasys Gadget, it was $8000 in 2005 but could be much cheaper in Korg Gadget, also a Korg Z1 Gadget would be cool and a wav editor similar to Audioshare but with more functionality. I have been using Korg Gadget since 2014 on iPad mini, now on iPad Pro. It replaces all my gear in my studio wirelessly and I use it while I travel. Please make a dedicated MIDI controller for Korg Gadget ! Please add append sequence feature like on Ensoniq EPS ! Thx for adding fx on mixer channels on 3.0. The copy/paste on multiple tracks is a nice feature. Alexa Momtaz

Mixed. I love the sounds of your gadgets, very Korg high quality I am more a BeatMaker kinda producer and I find the work flow very robotic. I guess for the gadget concept it is how it is but as a BeatMaker it’s kinda weak in those areas. I wish i had different options for putting things down Maybe make it more sample friendly on the grid

Best Sound, Easy to use,. This app is a must. Very easy to use. All the sounds are Great. The User interface is simple to use and let us create freely.

Love it, but my $40 in-app purchase just disappeared.. Please fix this Korg, I feel ripped of!

educative and professional. perfect inter generational creative music production station easy and intuitive for everyone to learn and well designed instruments to craft beautiful sound worlds

Another forced useless sequencer. Make the app for musicians and not noobs please. Korgs apps are always the most promising and the most difficult to use it is so sad because all the problems are obvious conscious decisions by the developer. Like midi support, they don't let you do certain things because it would make sense! And I find the exclusion of obvious features and never adding them after all these years is so insulting to the user. Dear devs of this software and korg execs, I am onto you, and you don’t get any of my respect.

Packs A Lot For One Low Price!. I am a music producer who is unable to afford hardware options that one would see in a studio, so am limited to software options. On iOS, I find many music apps to be great, but don't have everything in the box on their own (Audiobus and AU support come to mind here). I can honestly say that Gadget is one of the most complete packages, offering just about everything you need to create something from start to finish. The in app purchases are quite worth it, as they just expand your toolset for creativity. Very well done Korg!

The best iOS music app. Overall I’d have to say that Gadget is what keeps me coming back to my iPad for music production. It keeps getting better and the ease of use and quality are great. Also the price point of the add on‘s ate very fair and a really good value. Audio tracks are available but very limited on editing, still doesn’t stop you from loading and sequencing samples in a very quick easy way. I’m very very happy with Gadget, it’s my favourite app.

One of best music apps out there!. I never review apps as they are usually all disappointing this however is exceptional on all levels. Worth every penny of purchase price with upgrades.

Awesome. Just wish midi implementation was a bit more simplified

Gadget is bloody Fun!. More fuzzy deeper effects with tripping balls filters, noises n’ sounds please!

missing key things. while i do generally love the app - a lack of latch and transpose are enough to keep this from being usable live for me. if they happen to add those in - it maybe 4 or 5 stars. sad day. ❤️

I use it a lot with other apps.. You can find fun ways to make your iPad a toy with connecting other music making apps- to it. And midi works really well.

Needs better midi support. I like that all of the gadgets allow you to select a key and a scale and even offer a way to play chords but this doesn’t work if you’re trying to interface with Korg Gadget with an external midi keyboard. Wish they would fix this and I would use it more often. Most serious musicians to play on the iPad screen. I mean why have midi at all then?

Best app best workflow. I can’t say enough good things about this app. As a musician of almost 30 years Gadget helped me overcome a lot of the hurdles that I was facing ever since I started using computer based recording systems in the early 2000s. I never felt comfortable writing electronically until I started using Gadget. With that said I just wish there was more Midi options for external controllers. Also more timing options but I’m hoping all of that will come in time.

Just buy it. This app has literally changed my life and is my favorite tool for composing. It's fantastic as it is, although I would like a crossfade option for recorded tracks to remove the "pop" sound. Also I would like to import midi to an open project.

Drum machine midi out!. The app is great, but so sad it does not host other au3s. Would love to be able to use the drum modules in gadget with its built in drummer to send midi to an app like AUM to a Atom Piano roll without using tapai, like just send midi straight out from a gladstone track so i can use the drum machine style generator into another app to actually compose.

My favorite app no longer works.. You can get all the way into a song and then all of a sudden it just stops. The play button stops working, you try to reload it and it’s blank, can you re-download the app and it might work for a day and then it does the same thing. I love this app and I have so many things saved on it but it just simply will not work anymore. It will load all the projects but will not play them. I’m running a 2020 iPad Pro and I miss my gadget.

Fantastic! Needs AU mode please!. Korg Gadget is an amazing, amazing app that’s well worth the investment and sounds fantastic. Please Korg, I’m begging and I’m not alone- we NEED Audio Unit support to use Gadget inside other Apps like Garageband. I would love a larger keyboard interface as well, but AU support to play Gadget inside other apps would make it absolutely perfect!

I really dig it. The app has really intuitive gadgets and controls, and the UI is really nice looking. There are a bunch of gadgets that are for purchase even after you buy the base app, but they are worth the money in my opinion. I’m using it with the Korg Nanokey Studio in native mode and it just works with no issue. I was using GarageBand to dabble in music creation, but that has bad midi support, so I’ve entered the gadget 3 ecosystem and so far, I do not regret it.

Thumbs up!. This app is everything. I have been making beats since the days of the ASR-X and MPC 3000. This is the best and most innovative grove box ever invented by far. I absolutely love the workflow. I suggest a new sampler or upgrade AbuDhabi so there is more sample edit control that would put it more in like with like the sample editor in Maschine software. Other than that Korg only needs to add a VC-10 vocoder gadget and a timeline view for song recording. And this “DAW” will be perfected.

Problem with the new update for Glasgow. Hello I’m having some issued with Glasgow inside KORG gadget 2 The problem is after the last update you guys sent the drum section and the user section won’t appear inside Glasgow so you can’t use them apparently but everything else is fine I have all the string section except the drum, and the user bank.

My Absolute Favorite iPad Music Making App!. My title says it all, it is my favorite music making app hands down. That said, I wish to be a contributor in keeping this app 100. Only thing I wish is better graphics in the effects section. Korg has spent much appreciated effort in designing the Gadgets beautifully graphical interfaces, I can’t seem to understand why’d they skip on the effects sections, eq, reverbs, etc. But that’s ok, still love the entire thing anyway.

AUv3 please?. That would be awesome - Korg’s gadgets should all be available as AUV3s! There’s too much potential here to let it be limited by The Korg ecosystem. Which is pretty good, but yet not perfect and certainly could benefit from AUV3. A worse, substantially worse alternative would be to turn gadget into an AUV3 host. Hopefully this won’t be the case as the gadgets as AUV3s would be far more helpful!

Um...Wow. Deep, versatile, comprehensive this app feels like soooo much more than I payed for. I immediately purchased most of the gadgets, because they are a steal no matter how you look at it. Would better midi mapping make me happy? Sure it would. I would love to be able to trigger scenes from my controller and assign master volume to a slider, seemingly obvious options. Maybe I just missed it, but honestly with korg I feel like I’m in good hands and they will get to it. But the sensible layout, the mind boggling number of sounds and the quality of the various synths and drums make this app a serious game changing addition to my ipad setup. Even figured out how to use it in love prerformamces pretty easily. So yeah...Wow. Korg is doing almost everything right with this one.

Always come back!!. I always come back to this app. One of the best interfaces and sound design platforms. You can make a complete track with gadget. All I wish for is to single tap to start/stop individual clips and double tap or hold the clip to get inside the gadget.

Musical. So many music apps, and here is one that I find really musical. I feel like most other music apps either do too much for you - too many preset loops without any room for real creative input. Or else too much of a blank canvas with too many technical options to fiddle with and get lost in. With Gadget, I always seem to come away quickly with something really musical. Just enough great-sounding options, and also just enough limitations. Your mileage may vary, but this app works great for me.

Pompei and memphis unusable >:(. I own polysix and ims-20. I have these on my iPhone 6s. What happened? I want my gadgets back on my newer phone. I’m scared to update my iPhone 6s to the current version because I want warszawa from my purchase of Electribe wave, but I don’t want to lose pompei and Memphis from polysix and ims-20. Otherwise great app. But why take away gadgets? It’s upsetting because I love ipolysix and it’s sounds. Edit: they didn’t they just don’t show for some reason unless you have them on an iPad on the same Apple ID as your iPhone. However, I still can’t get them to transfer. Deleting and reinstalling doesn’t work, I think it’s just too large of a version difference and my iPad doesn’t go any newer. So, the end effect is the same and I still can’t use them. :/

Very versatile!. I use Korg Gadget all the time, and I love it! Most people use it for dance music and hip-hop and other heavy-beat stuff, but I use it to compose a little bit of pop, a little bit of new age, but mostly classical & sacred music. I also tie it in to the pipe organ at my church and compose/record music straight off of the four keyboards and pedals! So, I’m recording five keyboards all at the same time! It’s very versatile, and it provides an inspirational tool for me.

Not compatible with G2?. Does this mean older iPads that are comfortable with G1 but glitchy with G2 will have projects in limbo? If I don’t want to take the 12” Pro to a friends house, but have a smaller older iPad that runs G1 fine, that project is stuck in the old iPad? Because if I continue working on it in G2 on the Pro then there is no going back to its state in G1...right?

So much potential, just a little more professional would be good. Gadget really is a great tool to get ideas down but a few omissions keep it from being a useful professional tool. 1. We need multiple outs. If you could send individual tracks to AUM or use the Gadgets as AUs, this would add a lot of external processing possibilities. Yes, I know you can export audio tracks to Ableton but I want to stay in Gadget and tweak knobs without printing anything to audio. 2. Why can’t the mixer controls be mapped to a MIDI controller? The transport controls and Gadget device controls can, but the mixer is glaringly omitted. Is Korg just trying to sell their own midi controllers? (I heard the Nanostudio can do this.) Honestly if these things were improved, Gadget could become a powerful nearly all-in-one DAW/sound creation device. And then I would buy more Gadget devices… (are you listening Korg?)

A beautiful walled garden. Gadget won’t replace a real desktop DAW, because it doesn’t have “real” audio tracks and the sequencer is relentlessly pattern-based. But as a portable groovebox, Gadget is amazing. It’s fast, easy, and fun to work with. Your results can be easily exported as stems to other software for further development. 9/10 would buy again 👍

I Love This App!. Intuitive, powerful app. Great for picking it up and making music wherever you go. One thing that's come up recently though....I can't find the sound sample store within the app for the life of me. There one day and gone the next, doesn't detract from the app at all, but it's driving me crazy all the same.

Nashville songwriter John Reynolds on Korg Gadget. Simply put, I now start every song on my Ipad and gadget is where all my ideas including scratch vocals/lyrics and arrangements begin. When this latest crop of two or three hundred are ready I will take them up to the studio and try gadget for mac. My hope is that the transition will be seamless and that integrating with my protools/UA rig will prove as fruitful as my Ipad experience. Cheers, John

Almost perfect, needs one fix. Korg Gadget 2 is outstanding but has one flaw -- if you work on a long sequence it becomes difficult or impossible to move the notes without zooming in. You can easily adjust the note length when zoomed out, but it's hard to move the note because you have to touch the very most narrow pixel tip of the note to move it. It needs to be easier to move notes around when zoomed out to a pattern length of 4.

Needs midi out.. Honestly guys, if you haven’t picked this one up yet, you should. It’s pretty close to all you’ll need to make great music. But it needs to send midi out. With such a great piano roll editor, and all the effects, it’s really a bummer it can’t pass midi to something else like a drum machine. I’d also like to see an 80s throwback drum machine gadget or a few more weird effects.

Fantastic DAW with Korg Plugins. I love Gadget! While it has some limitations (some of the plugins are worthless to me), it’s overall a wonderful app for sequencing, recording, editing and storing new sounds for use later, etc. Also, while recording, most of the apps allow for live parameter changes, which is a blast. For the $100 or so that I have invested in Gadget and accessory plugins, I have a stunning and highly capable tool.

Slowwwwww on iPad Pro and iOS 11. I’ve been using this app for years and really do love it, but the most recent iteration is verrrrrrry laggy and slow. I’m using a brand new 10.5 inch iPad Pro too, so I’m not sure if this newest version is built for Mac OS and then ported to iPad or what, but the lag frequently makes the on-screen soft synths unplayable. If the app can’t run smoothly on the latest hardware, maybe we need to roll it back a version, Korg? It has run fine the past few years on my iPad Air 1...

Great mobile app!. You can do almost anything with Gadget 2 especially since they included audio tracks. You can do both audio and midi tracks. The amp sim is not bad at all.I also like that multiple time signatures are supported as well. You can import standard midi files and audio clips. The sounds and effects are great. It would be cool if you could use a midi foot controller for stop/start next/ prev, but they’ll probably figure that out too. Definitely worth 40 bucks.

Ultimate Solution for Traveling. I travel almost every week for work, and for months I've been sweating over not being able to bring my Moog or Prophet on the road. Bringing a second laptop and Ableton live just isn't as portable as one would wish (especially for airplanes). I took a gamble and bought Kori Gadget... GLAD I DID! This tool is the PERFECT sketch pad for the road, and when you come home you can rebuild with your real instruments. Korg hit the ball out of the park with this!

iCloud back up from old to new. Hi, love Korg gadget, wanted to know if there is a way to sync old tracks from an old device to a new. I’ve been holding on to my old iPad because I have many tracks that aren’t on my new device. How to take a back up and load it onto a new device with all songs/tracks.

iPhone vs iPad. Do not buy it on your iPhone if you want to use it with your iPad. Description is misleading and makes you think that once purchased it can be used on both iPhone AND iPad. I bought it on my iPhone because it was easier to purchase and then come to find out that I have to buy it again on my iPad even though I have the same Apple ID on both. It should be explicitly stated in the description that iPhone and iPad versions are not one and the same and have to be purchased separately. Had to request a refund. Hassle that could be avoided.

Sweet groove sketch kit for my iPad Pro!. Been trying out multiple apps for catching my musical ideas while out and about. Gadget is a fine thing to have in the Groove Arsenal. With built in cloud share and expandable instruments, it gives the production a nice sparkle straight from the fingertips. Big Korg fan, also using Kaossalator app and microKorg hardware.

Pretty sweet but hate the UI. And for a DAW, the UI makes or breaks it. The synths sound great, and the quality beats any other on iOS. I’ve bought a few of the addons - likely to buy more. But other than throwing down some simple ideas, I don’t gravitate to this one. It could just be I'm not used to it yet? My suggestion is to wait for a decent sale, then spend the extra on a few of the in-app synths.

KorgGadget 2 brings IOS Troubles.. Hello I just updated to korg gadget 2 from gadget 1 and I would’ve loved to leave a positive review but your update is causing migraines here’s my frustration with what you guys call a update the midi portion right I use BeatMaker 3 and gadget together or used to because now for whatever reason I’m not sure if this was on purpose or system malfunction but gadget no longer allows me to use it coupled with beat maker 3 with my midi control I wished Korg Gadget would listen to its consumer base about having auv3 abilities but it doesn’t even have iaa abilities anymore this disheartening what ever you guys broke in this version 2 I hope you fix it soon. Signed a unhappy customer.

iPadOS issues. I love gadget! It’s my favorite go to for ideas and playing around with song structures. I’m having an issue now though. I just update me to a new iPad 11 inch pro and I reinstalled gadget but I can’t get my korg module piano and other instruments back. I hit the buy button but it just closes the app. Any ideas?

Latest update = custom samples gone. Just updated to the latest version of gadget and it destroyed all of my custom presets in sample-based gadgets (Vancouver, etc.). Now most of my projects do not load/play correctly. I can find the missing samples in Files but when I tap to load them, nothing happens. Gadget is so frustratingly painful to use with these recent updates. Don’t waste your money like I did. There are plenty of better and less expensive alternatives. To the developer: Yes, I am running the latest version (2.4). Garbage. I’ve deleted the app completely. Too bad I spent soooo much money on this app and it’s IAPs. Save your money everyone! You are better off with GarageBand and AUv3 instruments and effects. It will save you money and provide a heck of a lot more flexibility.

Would Say 5 Stars But.... The timeline scene layout is trash... Either make it normal left to right like everyone else or add features where I can easily copy an entire scene under a different scene without having to copy and paste each and every individual track from that scene. I literally only use GarageBand and BeatMaker 3 now for that simple reason...

Buggy!. This program would be great if it worked properly. Quantize function is useless and after correcting the time by hand the app still plays everything off time. Plus many other serious issues that make this pretty much unusable. Looking forward to updates to correct many serious issues.

this is one of the best music creation apps. it’s so easy to create songs on here the workflow is near perfect it was better on the Nintendo switch actually with buttons I actually learned a lot about music through using this app I was always confused on how electronic music was made but it makes a lot more sense now

Korgspectacular. I’ve been using it for almost 3 years, it is amazing all the things you can do, I only wish they would have more releases more soon, and that you could integrate synthesizers from the outside and use them here! Come on Korg, pretty sure you can do it

It’s good. It’s good for what it does, but it is still a toy to me until they fix the undo button to not delete every note I’ve put in over 5 minutes and warn me about not saving a file if I make a new one. I don’t know if coding those features is just too hard for y’all or y’all don’t care. But y’all made everything else killer in the app, just a poor designer that doesn’t think humanly? If you’re reading this as a buyer, they won’t fix it, been years it seems.

Almost perfect but that swing needs work.. As someone whose owned the new and old electribes and the Volca samplers etc, I Can say this swing is on this app is kinda weak It seems like it only affects the Metronome not the actual sequence itself, which is cool if your using a metronome but idk hopefully they give that a tune up. But overall the layout is amazing great synths and add ons and I can’t wait to see what else they do with this app

All-in-one awesomeness. Korg absolutely kills it in the app game. They’ve been creating them longer than most, and it shows. This is a great place to start, but beware, you might end up spending a bit of cash on other synth apps once you realize how sweet they are.

Fantastic app. This app taught me so much about music production and was a gateway for me to release multiple albums! Totally worth it and worth getting the extra synths for the sound library. That being said, I would LOVE it if you could export the individual tracks to AudioShare with one button push versus having to select each one. An export all stems option would be great please do that Korg

(Update) Grid prompt to report bug.... I know I like the app but I cannot reach Korg with my issue: How to successfully import audio into Gladstone and why does the app become muted at times without any of the mute buttons being pressed? Update I was under the impression that Korg would only address my issue if I created an account with them at their website. To be fair, Korg did reach out to me for help. I think my issue is that I’m using an iPad Mini 2. Too frustrated by now to work it out with Korg. What really did it was when I lost a particular file. After opening a different file I decided to reopen said particular file only to find that it was missing. Other files were present, but not this one. This one file was so important to me and it was the only completed song I created on my iPhone SE’s version of Gadget. I’ve invested in this app but I can’t even trust it. At least on my Mini 2 I haven’t lost any data. I will update my hardware in the near future and will give Gadget another shot. For now, the one star remains.

This app made me drop iMpc pro 2. After I used the letdown of a app iMpc pro 2 after loving the first version I decided to look for something new. I’m glad I found this because it’s a all in one powerhouse. Luckily I got most of the add on gadgets and module on sale but without the sale it could get a little pricy. If you’re a hip hop producer download the Bilbao gadget for your drums, Vancouver to chop samples, and module to add more sounds to your arsenal.

Amazing for mobile production with room to grow. Most reviews have already mentioned what Id say about the app. It does get costly investing in all the instruments and the OSX version, but in the grand scheme its just about the same cost as a traditional daw. The great part is that you can pick up where you left off when you leave the studio. You cant do that with ableton or reason or pro tools, etc. I do hope they update the chords feature to play more relative chords based on the scale and key. I d also like to see them either add the larger piano keys like Madrid to all instruments with a keyboard or add an option to double up like iMaschine.

Pretty sweet, but missing basic features and polish. I definitely recommend it, but it could use some love from the devs. It currently doesn’t let you save projects to your local files, only to Dropbox. It also occasionally freezes and or audio stops working, with the only solution being a restart.

MIDI out! 😀. The addition of midi out gadget was an awesome surprise. Works better than any other sequencer on the store. So far the timing has been perfect, don’t have to make adjustments after recording. Every other that I’ve used for this purpose has sync issues. Nice to be able to make a bunch of patterns on iPad then record them into a daw. Works great with hardware and software instruments. Thanks for continuing to improve the app. 5 stars all the way.

Updated after Korg Bluetooth Products Fix. I LOVE Gadget. It's worth every penny for every gadget (but wait for a sale, which they have often). This is an update to reflect that Korg has issued a firmware update to fix their NanoKEY Studio and other Bluetooth devices with iOS 13. I had removed three stars due to this as the integration with their hardware was a key feature that was lost with iOS 13. Thank you for fixing it Korg! Took ya long enough, but I’ll forgive that. Gadget is one of the most impressive apps on iOS. One star off for not allowing audio input from other apps such as AUM and Audiobus. I do not know what on earth Korg is thinking adding an audio Gadget that can only take direct hardware input. But other than that I love Gadget.

Still no autosave???. I've been pointing this out for years at this point, as have numerous folks on forums. How and why there is no prompt to save before switching projects or an autosave feature is baffling. How can I reliably use any app which doesn't have these fundamental features of a modern software application? After all of the incredible funationality and power that's been packed into this app, why is such a basic and critical feature like this missing? The desktop version has this functionality. It stops me from using the iOS version from any serious production.

Absolutely love it !. Honestly the App Store just asked me to comment and rate gadget ....I rather be making music but felt obligated to say I love this app...I’m hardly a pro with it but it can do so many things....and is very powerful. I use it with a korg nanoKEY INTO a kc350 Roland amp. And it sounds like a really nice synth or keyboard. Best app I have ever bought honest.
