Took my money but this version won't open my files!. I paid another $10 to upgrade to this version after mine stopped working. And it won't open my files. It is useless, and I can't get to my information. Negative 5 stars.

Still the best Wiki making app (and it just got better). Nice and important update from Primal Labs! Thank you for adding Rich Text editing from my phone and iPad. Very nice interface changes too that feel more polished. This app now works very well with my MacBook and my portable devices and is back "front and center " in my workflow. If you're looking at gathering data, in a format that lends itself to linking and organizing as a wiki, this is the best!

Cannot recommend. I purchased the iPhone app and also the more expensive app for the Mac computer. Sorry but I cannot recommend this phone app at all. It started out being useful enough, but nowadays it is unusable. The iPhone app simply gets stuck in a loop trying to link to Dropbox (“session ended - do you want to relink?”) but there’s zero opportunity to find out why it dropped the link or to get a word in edgewise to confirm that a relink (I guess?) is required. Feels like this s/w has been abandoned… have seen multiple users complain about this issue but no updates from the vendor yet, so… Nice idea though. Your very own ability to create your own personal wiki-like database for your personal devices. I created two such databases and used them extensively but now cannot get to any of my data or pages.

Still broken on iPad. I still can’t access the hyperlinks in my existing documents stored on Dropbox. I’ve basically given up on this app. The macOS version works just fine with Dropbox. :/ Time to find a different app to handle my unstructured info.

Great Companion App. VP for iOS is good as a stand alone app but is fantastic as a companion app to the desktop version. It is great as an searchable information repository. You have control of your information and can sync through Dropbox. Great app, looking forward to further development.

Doesn't sync. I'm really blown away by the fact that this app is such garbage, and perhaps more that the sync bug has gone unfixed for many many months. VoodooPad for desktop is great and the developers are very skilled, so why don't they address the issue? Unfortunately skilled and reliable do not always come in the package. It is very clear that the Dev does not care about this app, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Not Supported any more. This was a great and extremely useful app back in the day. Plausible Labs (the current developer) acquired Voodoo Pad from Flying Meat (the original developer) way back in 2013. This version for iOS was released just after the acquisition (again in 2013). In all of 2014 there was no activity at all on this app. In 2015 there was a single update to address a security vulnerability. The last post on Plausible Labs blog was over a year ago. If you're looking for a personal wiki app you should look somewhere else. This was the app you're looking for, but that was years ago. Don't waste your money on unsupported software.

broke the link mechanism. With the latest update, tapping a link puts you in edit mode instead of taking you to the linked page. Developers consider that a feature instead of a bug. It turns Voodoopad from one of the few nice wikis into one of the endless supply of regular note taking apps.

Worth every penny, and then over again.. This app (and it's desktop counterpart) saw me through undergrad and law school. I use it for anything more complicated than a single text file.

As stale as year-old bread.. Plausible Labs really hasn’t done anything with VoodooPad since they purchased it from Gus. The new version does support the iPhone 6 and 6+ screen sizes, but it has visible glitches and most of the UI looks _very_ old. When you create new pages, text shifts around on the page; it just doesn’t look polished. I guess a good thing is that the app does look more modern than the App Store screen shots. The bad thing is, they’re putting in so little effort, they can’t even update the screen shots in the App Store! A big hearty :-(

Unsafe to use. I like the idea, although the execution leaves some to be desired. For example, Markdown files are not displayed correctly and the "back" button and gesture that all other apps use doesn't take you back to the previous page, it takes you back to the document list. Then when you click back into the document you were viewing you have to start back at the index. But none of that matters because the iOS version of VooDooPad is unsafe -- it deletes pages and creates sync conflicts galore. I really hope it gets fixed because I can't use it until it handles syncing in a safe way. I would be happy to have a "read only" version or setting if that is what it takes.

Hoping for great things!. The original, desktop version of VoodooPad was my go-to, all-purpose note keeping and info-saving tool for many years. It's elegant, functional, and cool. Since I've been working mostly on the iPad lately, I've been missing the power and utility of the desktop app. To date, the iOS version has seemed crippled by comparison. I'm hopeful now that this will change under Plausible's ownership. There's no reason this app can't become as great as its older cousin. So here's hoping for great things in 2014!

good logo. Good update

Love this app but. I use this app a lot on my iPad pro and, for the most part, I love it. It desperately needs the split view functionality. Aliases would also make this a 5 star app for me.

A bit disappointed.... I had the mac desktop version, which is great! But now It would be easier to open it on my iPhone, because VP Reader iOS app was not so great… I’m a bit disappointed because I paid $9.99 and if I edit something, it converts it to text… All images, font colors,… are removed and I can’t add it again… Only on the desktop version. This is just a waste of time… This should be a productivity app… Its just a time consuming (frustrating) work app… Pleas fix this!

The icon is right. It's dead.. I just realized that the icon for this app, now matches the development effort. Dead. No updates since it changed owners about 6 months ago. I thought they did that as an effort to get rid of all the bad reviews. I've used voodoopad on the desk top for years. Wasn't excited about having to buy it again when they came out with the update as a new app. Definitely not. Now that it appears to be a dead app. No updates since it's release. So the icon is referring to itself. Warning. Use caution when cutting and pasting text into this app. Sometimes it comes in with formatting issues that make the note very strange. Several of the notes I pasted in from other note taking apps showed up looking like broken HTML code with lines ending with

yet those note paste just fine into other note taking apps. I've also had trouble with notes acting like it now a web page type note when it was a text note. It is also missing basic functionality that almost all other writing apps have. Such as note size and word count. The info about is both geeky and useless. I was hoping it would grow into a usable note taking app but the app changed hands several months ago and nothing has updated or improved. Time to move on to other apps.

Won't sync. I have not yet been able to get this to sync with my Mac. The wheel just keeps spinning. I have no problem with Dropbox and other apps so I know it's something with voodoo pad. I love the desktop version and use it all the time. Would love for this to work.

Needs work. VoodooPad on Mac is great, but it is far from great on iOS. It looks terrible on the recent phones with bigger screens, editing rich text pages causes all formatting to be lost, and the syncing is cumbersome. For these reasons, instead of using this app, I find it more convenient to email myself edits and add them later on my Mac. That is pretty bad. I am hopeful the new owners will fix the screen resolution support, rich text editing, and let you open documents from anywhere in your Dropbox in a future version. Until then it just won't be very good.

Shiny - And...it Crashes. Pretty much says it all. Used to work well on Mac, while always getting hung-up or having syncing issues between Mac and iOS. Shiny new icon and yet it crashes the instant you add a document or try to link anything. Just dissapointed!

Getting there!. I can *finally* go back to using VoodooPad as my primary app for notes, now that the iOS app is much better at syncing and editing. All I need to add that last star is a “home” button and better support for images. Thank you!

Best Personal Wiki-enhances creativity!. VooDooPad is a must have for creative people! If you are trying to collect anything unstructured, you want VooDoo. You can collect and manage creative thought without constraining the idea factory. Not to mention, you can take it anywhere you go. Here are ways I use VooDooPad: 1. Collecting and maturing writing ideas on character profiles, plots, settings, individual scenes, and research all in the same document and let it grow without being constrained by an artificial format. Super handy since it’s syncs across devices, so I don’t have to worry about losing an idea if the idea-lighting strikes while I’m on the go. 2. Sifting through large amounts of geneology information. I abstract it into a links, which are easier to sort, shuffle and reshuffle, letting me spend more time on the material and less on the tool mechanics! 3. Worlds best recipe organizer. Index page has categories, which blend to sub-categories. Actual recipes are only written once, but appear multiple places. For example: Grandma’s Raw Cranberry Salad shows up on the Holiday recipes, gluten free recipes and salads. Then I need to reference it, it’s handy on my computer, my iPhone or my ipad. Friends at work ask for a recipe, Cut, paste, email. 4. Collection of knitting patterns…all handy on my phone. Found a cool pattern in a magazine, just take a picture and insert the jpeg! No matter where I go, I can take my knitting with out lugging along the pattern to get all wrinkled, torn or lost. Even better, I can share via Cut and paste into email. Thanks VooDooPad!

Dropbox sync broken. Downloads doc from Dropbox, but shows only an empty doc on the device. It appears to be trying to overwrite data in Dropbox without any changes made on iOS, as well.

It's alive!. So happy to see an update and visual refresh!

Nearly abandoned. This app has definitely become stale. Voodoopad on OS X is amazing, yet the iOS version is barely functional in comparison, and barely recieves any updates. No exporting options, no scripting. Would love to see some real attention for this app because it has so much potential.

Newest version syncs great between iPhone and Mac OS X. Great app

Catastrophic failures. VooDooPad has been my go-to Note pad for at least 25 years. I loved its simplicity, speed, and breadth of functionalities. In particular, I loved how it synced among my various Apple devices. The current version erases all of that. Not only does it not sync, it continues to lose my pages -- just under 700 at last count, most of which are recipes that I could not recover if I had another 25 years. For the moment, it continues to function nominally on my desktop, which is not thrilling when you try to set it up in a kitchen. Primate should be humiliated that this thing is in the wild. Do yourself the favor I wish I could go back 25 years to do: get something else. *Anything* else.

Won't link to Dropbox. Love VDP on the Desktop but, like others, do most of my research/reading/idea finding on my devices. If not for support's very nice attempt to help this app would get one star. It's is a cruel tease. I want it to work so badly I have wasted many hours to no avail, despite a few detailed exchanges with support. I'm glad to see others had the same problem bc it seemed like I was the only one who can't sync over Dropbox--even after combing through sync logs.

Not worth the price. I heard good things about this app and since I don't know anything about the wiki markup language, it seemed like the way to go. And that much is true, it's very simple to use as a novice, but the total lack of features makes this app a rip off at $10. Something like this shouldn't be priced at more than a couple of dollars. The app literally only allows you to write plain text documents and link to other pages within the app. The sample pictures would lead you to believe that you can do some formatting and add images, but this is not the case. You can't even link to anything outside of the app. This app might be useful as a personal wiki (provided that you don't want to do anything as ambitious as, say, create a Christmas shopping list with images of decor or gift ideas or links to shops), but I couldn't see it being effective in most real world applications. For $10 I'd expect to be able to do at least some basic formatting like bold text, bullet lists, and adjustable font sizes. There should also be, at a bare minimum, the ability to add images, link to external URLs, create footnotes and citations, and the other basic features you'd find on literally any wiki you've ever seen. This app really feels like a light version of the real thing minus a few annoying ads. But even if I used the desktop version of the same program (and I don't), it's only a glorified reader because the first time you try to format existing notes you will lose all formatting and images you've added. I think this app serves a function, but it's not a function that's worth $10. Do some research before you commit to buying this app.

It works, but .... I used to miss the ability to edit rich text with this, but now I don't really care. Much more important is the absence of anything better than copy and paste for moving material in and out of this app. I do hope that's on the way soon because I am using this app to gather and interlink a bunch of text notes. It works really well for that in conjunction with its big brother on the Mac, which has tagging, etc. Unfortunately, no tags on this iOS version, but it does have a nice search engine. A post on the developers' website called "Plausible 2.0" makes me hope that this app will start growing. When it first came on the market, it was basically just something barebones for when one had to use an iOS device. But these days it is possible to get a lot of real work done in iOS, and it's time for this app to enter that world, if incrementally.

Stick a pin in it, please!. Update 2: According to the Primate Labs blog, they acquired Voodoo Pad from Plausible. Better yet, they appear to not be Plausible under a different name! I’m bumping up 2 stars to give Primate the benefit of the doubt and the app another shot. Thank you for rescuing it from being chained up and ignored in the backyard of Plausible. Update: Guess what? The TouchID bug "fix" is no fix at all. I just enabled TouchID and can no longer get into the app. Wow, how lame are these developers?!?! I keep trying the Mac version periodically before spending $40 to see if the sync gets fixed. Never does. Both the Mac and iOS versions are the same version (5.1.4) and are set to sync via Dropbox. EVERY TIME they sync data gets deleted, replaced by "Write about __ here," with "__" being the title of your note which VP just deleted. Plausible: Please sell this app back to Flying Meat - you guys have destroyed what was a good app, killed whatever reputation it had when FM owned it, and made yourselves look like..., I don't know, but not competent developers. I wouldn't look twice at whatever else it is you develop.

Good update. I have been meaning to write this for a while. The last update for the pad has been really good. The rich text file support now syncs and displays the iPad version.

Please Update!. Very disappointing, especially with such a high price tag. Where are the updates? Rich text so my synced notes look the same as on the Mac version. The keyboard has not even been updated to iOS7 yet. Please update the app for those who paid for it guys!

Simple, personal wiki. My most essential app for notes, other than the Notes app. If you need to organise a lot of information in a clear and easy way, check it out. Genuinely looking forward to the new version and many more years of use.

Poor compatibility with OSX version. I'd hoped the iOS version would provide an easy way to carry around a copy of the Voodoopad databases I use on my laptop. Unfortunately, compatibility is poor. Rich text displays too small and doesn't seem to be zoomable. Converting to non RTF version also removes all the links!

Deprecated. Does not work, emailed the developer months ago and never got a response. Seemed like it was a good app in it’s time but no longer functional.

No integration with iOS. Cannot open files from another app, no Files integration, no iCloud integration.

Are they still alive?. Since iOS 8 release, most of my rtf files won’t open anymore and sync has become problematic (and actually never worked with dropbox…) I wrote to them few weeks ago and they answered that they were working to fix these issues. Are they? I had to revert my iOS back to 7.1.2 in order to use it (these are my class notes and research) but I’m not sure I will wait much longer. Too bad, this is such a great app (almost flawless on Mac)!

Update?. I used to love Voodoopad, but it's become so dated and it was never great on iOS. It really needs pull down to search, tap on text to edit (have to tap Edit at the top to edit a page), support for Rich text, and an iOS 7 refresh. iOS support always felt that like it was second-rate and poorly supported. I really hope that will change with Plausible Labs. Please also fix the non-existent text margins/line-length on both Mac/iOS. Refer to iA Writer for an example. Not sure why they're paying attention to the original developers roadmap (according to the blog). His roadmaps don't seem to go anywhere. :(
