Great. I like

Loyal Fallback Voice. As a adult on the autism spectrum, I have the tendency to lose my ability to speak/form words verbally when I am extremely overwhelmed, emotional, or my anxiety is high. This allows me to write down my thoughts/feelings/whatever it is that I am trying to convey and allowing myself to be heard through AAC. This has become a life savior! My only drawback, and maybe it’s a setting I am missing, is I wish the voice wouldn’t start speaking what I typed after each period at the end of a sentence. Most of the time I am not finished writing out the few sentences I need and that becomes annoying/distracting.

Could be better. I love this app, but I would like it to speak in the language the text is written in. Without depending on the language of the keyboard.

You have to buy this. I use both of the 4 and the 2, the four is easier for me talk on the phone with the word prediction running ahead of me most the time. I use to run my business, I'm always talking to people in person or on the phone.

I talk more because of having this app.. I talk more due to having this app around.

Review. It is a good app to have when you have a speech impediment and need to communicate with others that don’t understand your speech patterns, especially in high stressful situations or the person is just plain lazy and not being patient with you. It is also good for writing out complete sentences for complex situations that you might find yourself in. It is also good for writing out sentences for stories that you are working on along anything else like poetry, especially if you are someone who relies on audio feedback for hearing how a sentence sounds. Therefore, I highly recommend this app for anyone who needs assistance in any important situations they might face, whether it is a situation where communication is poor or you simply want to write out what you want to communicate ahead of time for a upcoming meeting or appointment. Whatever the situation you going to find yourself in this is the app you need for your most important situations that you face in your life.

Speaks for Me. A neurological disease has taken my speech. Thanks to the speech people at Johns Hopkins, I discovered the power of Proloquo4Text. I type. It speaks. It helps me feel whole.

Sentence Banking. I’ve conducted hundreds of AAC assessments and have to say how important having P4Text in my toolkit is. Adults that insist on original speech take too long to generate sentences from scratch. 90% of the time, the other person walks away before it’s ready. Sentence banking allows the user or helper to anticipate events and prepare what to say ahead, so that sentences are ready with a press or two of the screen.

If you have Proloquo2Go you don't need this app. It's okay, but overpriced. There are other text to speech programs which cost less. It does have Word prediction. And it does give you introductory phrases according to category. The company should give you a greater description of the product so you can make your own decision before spending the money to purchase this app.

Just what I needed. This is the app I have been waiting for! I had been using a combination of three or four different apps to accomplish my various word prediction and communication needs. They each did something I needed fairly well but not great. Proloquo4text, though, does everything I need and more, and it does so with stellar results. Thank you for making this app everything I need. I do hope, however, that they will consider not quite doubling the price. Personally I think $64.99 is almost the ideal price, maybe a bit more, but I think some of these apps are out of the price range of those who need them most. Update: The prediction capability of this app is really great. Would you consider building an iOS keyboard into the next version so we can use the prediction bar in other apps?

Changed my life!. This app has taken me to a new level. I lost my ability to speak but with Proloquo4Text and Acapela (who synthetically duplicated my original voice) I feel normal again. Thank you for this amazing product!

Great App. The app wonderful those professionals with speech impediments. The app has a professional appearance and easily customizable. The developer truly values user input. Many of my suggestions have been implemented with a personal email from the developer sent to me.

I really like it. I am recently disabled, I lost my tongue and larynx April 2021. My SLP got me on Proloquo2Go then I switched to Proloquo4Text So far I prefer text via my iPad. One idea would be to have an option to change the phone voice, like you do the live voice. I can switch to Darius live, but voice for my phone calls is doesn’t change

Officially the best paid text AAC app. I've been using Proloquo4Text for some time, and have always found the interface to be clean and logical, especially with the many customization options to show or hide certain features. I get overwhelmed by visual clutter, so that is very helpful. Mixing the iPad onscreen keyboard's word prediction with Proloquo's prediction or using AssistiveWare's Keeble, communication is generally very efficient. But now, the option to use both Personal Voice and Apple TTS voices cements it as my favorite AAC app. While I like the Acapela Heather voice well enough, most of the other voices didn't resonate with me, and generally didn't fit my accent. Now, Proloquo works amazingly with my Personal Voice, and sometimes I'll switch to Zoe Premium if I need extra clarity without boosting the volume--my own voice is a bit soft around the edges--for articulation similar to mine. It is wonderful to have so many choices to find what suits you best; it makes Proloquo4Text well worth the price, especially if you use AAC frequently or full-time.

Great Text to Speech app!!!. As a big fan of Proloquo2Go I was very excited to give Proloquo4Text a try. I have to say I am very impressed!! This is the best text to speech system I've used! I love the quick phrases and all of the other pre stored phrases. Very easy to edit and save things from your history. It has amazing word and sentence prediction. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a text to speech app for any ios device!

Passcode????. There is a passcode that was enabled on this app. I am umable to lock. It's not the passcode I have set on my son's ipad amd it's locked the app and made it unusable.

The right app. I've been searching for the perfect "text to speech" app for my non verbal teenager with Autism ever since we got our first iPad. I was tempted for so long by Proloquo2Go - but my child's strength is text based communication - the interest for picture communication just isn't there. This app checked all the boxes of "must haves" I was pleased with how intuitively it was to set up and use and my child has not only adjusted well but continues to amaze us every day. This app is a tool and it requires support, dedication and commitment to everyone in your child's life. I love the "history" feature where I can see what my child has been saying throughout the day. Our teacher has been able to customize it for different tasks and subjects at school. Everyone is thrilled at how quickly we have been able to enhance communication using this app.

Great App, even if you don't need it all the time.. I am verbal most of the time, but lose speech due to a complex & rare type of migraines. It is great to still be able to communicate clearly & fluidly. Just today, I used the app to order fast food in a drive-thru and to communicate with the staff when boarding a pet. I love being able to customize the look, phrases, and vocabulary to my own needs & preferences.

Useful but not perfect. If you can't physically talk but you're able to type at a decent speed, then I recommend buying this app. Before I purchased this app, I tried all of the other text to speech apps on the app store but I didn't like any of them due to a couple of key reasons. When I look for a text to speech app to use to communicate, I look for the following: a text box that's as large as possible, a clean looking UI, voices from Acapela, and a way to quickly delete the text in the text box. Although I've found a cheap app on Android that suits my needs, no other app on iOS besides this one offers all of those important features. Additionally, this app is expensive, but the price is understandable because they added a lot of various features to this app. I personally don't use the extra features that this app offers, but others may find those features to be useful, especially those that can't yet type quickly. However, there's a significant bug in this app, and there's also two other things that should be changed. I'm someone that has the in-app word prediction turned off because I instead use Gboard for my keyboard. However, about once every 15 times I press the delete button, the keyboard gets switched to a generic keyboard without any word prediction. I then have to switch the keyboard using the globe key on the keyboard, or I have to type something and press the delete button again for the keyboard to switch back to Gboard. I've also had this issue while using Swiftkey with this app. However, I've never had this issue when using any other app, and so this is an issue with this app. I hope this issue gets fixed soon because this is very irritating. Additionally, this app always says what's in the text box starting from the spot the cursor is at, but this is very annoying in situations where I had to go back to correct a typo. Please give us the option of having the app speak everything in the text box when we press speak, regardless of the location of the cursor. Lastly, it would be nice to be able to finely adjust the tone of the text to speech voice. This app allows you to adjust the tone, but there are only about four tone settings and there are massive differences between each tone setting. It would be nice if we could adjust the tone on a scale from 0 to 100 because I only want to adjust the tone by a very small amount.

Great app! I heard. I heard álot about proloquo2go and was bummed out cause I couldn't get it, then I saw this app, less expensive you finally put me at ease the voices are excellent

Worth every penny. This app is amazing. It makes communication so much easier. AssistiveWare listens and o the community and keeps adding new useful features. The new way to show other people my screen has made a lot of communication easier. Th new watch app makes it possible to access stored phrases like "hold on while I get my iPad" quickly. Yes, there are free or cheap apps out there, but they're not nearly as good. This app makes a lot more communication possible. (And faster, and more pleasant). Communication is worth paying for.

Life changing. Literally life changing. I have Autism and selective mutism is a big part of that for me, growing up was tough being forced to speak created even worse anxiety and low self esteem to the point I wasn’t leaving my house. I got my first job now and at first talking to customers caused terrible panic attacks and after speaking with my work they allowed me to look for an alternative way to communicate. I finally found it! I got an iPad mini through the NDIS and purchased this app along side it. Literally saves me from going into a panic attack now knowing I can still communicate even without my voice. The best part is the quick sentence section, I love that I can create a new tab for work and save my most frequently used sentences! It’s also been great for other people to communicate with me if they themselves have a hard time talking, we just type to each other! I love the customisation of the font sizes and voices. It’s really user friendly and I love it so much. At first I was worried how people would react to the robotic voice but the more I use it the more others will learn to understand. Thank you for making these apps, it’s given me my confidence and self esteem back!

One of the best apps going. I've used proloquo2go and moved to 4text when it was released - it's very adaptable. The short cuts allow for quick communication in busy situations. The other features all make for a great application for literate users who have little to no problem with fine motor skills. I would give it 5 stars but they're continually improving with the end user in mind - so there's always a 5 star rating to aspire too :)

Great AAC. Product spectacular for AAC if child understands how to navigate menu. Needs improvements for young children. Play button is too small for children who lack fine motor skills. Also why o why do you have a play button. My 5 year old wants to touch words to make them talk. Also you need a way to lock keyboard for kids with poor motor skills. Need speed control to speed up or slow down speech. Other than that 5 stars

Lifechanging. As an autistic adult who uses AAC for their primary means of communication, 4Text has been life changing. It is PHENOMENAL. Great interface, easy to use, and Assistiveware is SUPER responsive when there are technical issues.

Best text to speech. Best voices by far, even better than what’s available on expensive AAC devices. The app may not be perfect but, compared to Predictable this one has way more features and options.
