Awesome Halloween Philips Hue App. Yo! This app is the best in terms of accuracy of lights, sound affects, and background noise. I know this app is a once a year kinda thing but please keep updating! Add squid game red light green light asap.

Hue Halloween iPad Bridge Loses Connection. I love this app when it is working. When run off my iPad2 and iPad mini it loses the connection to the bridge all the time. My iPhone 6 seems to keep the connection. This app is pretty cool when working properly. I have it run with a bluetooth speaker outside and a hue in my lamp post. It is a must for my yard decked out for Halloween. I hope they fix it before it Halloween because when working this app ROCKS!

Fun Effects for Hallowe'en. This is a really fun app for Hue at Hallowe'en. There's a lot of free lighting and sound effects to keep you entertained and lots more available with in-app purchases. As an app developer myself I think it's a well done app. I'd like to be able to turn off all my lights with one click after using, but not a big issue.

Restore purchase doesn’t work. App is great but with one HUGE exception “restore purchase” doesn’t work which makes you repurchase app! please fix this!!

Way better than 2 more dollars of candy. Just hook you phone to your stereo, hard wired or with Airplay. And you will have so much fun with the flashing lights effects and sound effects. The app gives you spooky background music, and buttons to activate each different effect. It works great but I do have a wish list throw a specific effect to a specific light. or to more than one light in a specific order. That being said its a great app that will greatly improve your halloween. Well done guys. I just wish I needed to scare people more than one day a year. If you have Hue Lights, you have to have this App

Spooky FUN!. I never used to be into Halloween. Then I got this App to utilize my Hue lights and now I can't resist expanding my decorating every year. I've been using this app to great effect for the past 3 Halloweens. We always get lots of compliments from trick-or-treaters and friends and my two toddlers LOVE playing with the spooky sounds/controlling the lights on the iPad app! It's a fun party trick for friends as well. Hooking it up to a Hue motion sensor works perfectly to trigger spooky sounds right as people approach the house. One warning: start with a fully charged phone and keep it plugged in, since it will drain the battery like crazy. I recommend using the headphone audio jack to sync audio to the lights perfectly, if possible. One of Hue's updates for the bridge nearly broke the app for Halloween 2018. I was SO happy when the developer fixed the compatibility update in a June 2019! I'm really looking forward to using this again next year. I've bought other apps/add-ons for this App from the developer and would have happily paid much more for this App because of how FUN it is.

Perfect for trick-or-treaters!. I was very glad to see that some other reviewers requests are in fact already in the software... It plays scary mood music (or it also works with my own Halloween playlists in the background) AND has a mode where it will automatically shuffle through all the effects unattended. I have zero complaints; exactly what I was hoping for! It appears this app will be nearly perfect running on our front porch this Halloween night. I've got a couple of Hue bulbs, some Airplay speakers, and a smoke machine... Should be good fun!

One light at a time!. I wish I had seen the review pointing out this app only did one light at a time before I purchased. This is the only 1 star review I've ever given. I would have been disappointed even if it had been free--not worth the time to download.

Would love to see more than 1 light control. I am hoping that before Halloween support is added for multiple bulbs. What I mean is that I would like to see the effects change more than one bulb at a time

Kinda trash.... At first I thought this app was great. I tired it on my kitchen bulb which is the Edison style, it worked great! But when I selected all of my lights which is mainly 3x up/down sconces, it was horrible! The FX did okay... but when playing the mood music with the FX, it threw everything out of whack.

Needs an update. If people are paying for an app still and the developer is still making money from new downloads they should update the app once or twice a year with new sound effects I mean it works but it's been the same sounds since 2013 there are only four moods some new material would be great

Meh.. If you want something that’s extremely colorful, loud, bright, and obnoxious, then this is the one for you. If you want something more subtle and natural—like a haunted house with questionable electrical wiring or something like that—look elsewhere. I wasted my money on two Phillips Halloween apps that appear to have been made by children, for children.

Not bad. If you could have lights turned off between sounds would be way better. Makes all lights stay on low thruout sound effects

Perfectly Scary Fun. Synced effortlessly. Easy intuitive controls. Sounds and light effects are great. For a $2 app, it's everything I had wanted and hoped for. So much fun. Halloween will be so much more interesting this year. We have 10 hue bulbs. This app can put them all through so much more variations than I can on my own. The sounds are Bluetoothed to a remote speaker for that added scary fun impact. Set it on "continuous" and then it's all set. The problem I see is that unlike the Christmas and New Years apps, this one doesn't sync to a user selectable song. Even if it did, the Christmas and New Years versions are EXTREMELY unpredictable as to the song the app will play. The vast majority of the songs in my collection (1000's) simply gets generic "can't play" error message. Frustrating.

Works great for my Halloween display. I setup a Bluetooth speaker outside along with a few Hue color lights and use this app to create a cool Halloween light and sound effect for my Halloween display. I can run it either from my phone or ipad. Setup was easy. Great little app.

Needs auto mode. I would rate this 5 stars if after a couple of minutes on my iPhone 6 it would not go into dormant mode barely changing light color. It's so cool but u have to keep pressing the buttons even after the update or it goes to sleep after a few minutes. Bummer fix this please so I can set and forget!

It's ok. An ok app but not worth paying for.

Just awesome. I have a garage door with Opaque glass - and I have set up two Hue lights behind it, and this app powering a Bose speaker - it is AWESOME!!!! the garage looks and sounds haunted and possessed - it’s the hit of the neighborhood. My kids love it, and the random people walking down the street in SF are amazed. We’ve had hours of fun with it - and can’t wait for halloween. A couple requests - more control on the exact sound effects that are rotating through. The creepy female whispering voice, and the thunder/lightening are great.

Very Lame App. This app is extremely underwhelming. The lights do almost nothing, the sounds are generic, and well... everything about it is bad. It's a complete waste of money unless you want something that will be entertaining for a 3 yr old.

Great for Spooky Halloween. We set this app up to light up our front porch this Halloween and hooked it up to an iPad/speakers. Our kids love it and it's an awesome addition to our outdoor decorations. I can't wait for the trick or treaters to experience this light/sound effect this year! I give it 4 stars and not 5 because I would've loved it if I could sync a few of the bulbs together, so they would have the same exact effect. When you have tons of hue lights this is an absolutely necessary feature!

Excellent for what it does. When thinking of all the holidays and the question “Which holiday do I want my Hue lights to behave irrationally on their own?” Halloween becomes the only recurring holiday. Memorial Day, Labor Day, and 4th of July I believe come in as a close second to Halloween if you are looking to bathe your home in Red, White, and Blue. But you can’t blame ghosts for your choice of Reds, Whites, and Blues everywhere in your home, your tailer, or your in-laws trailer. - Halloween and the ghosts changing the lights. - Halloween and the guy in the secret room below the basement who’s drawing power from the lights. - Halloween and the witches, who’s mobile phones changed the lighting, they are on their way to the house so hide. This app is dead💀on perfect. It does exactly what the zombies 🧟‍♀️🧟🧟‍♂️, witches 🧙🏻‍♀️🧙🏻, ghosts 👻,and goblins👺👹need to make the place welcoming to them.

Awesome!. Best. App. Ever. Developer responded promptly when we had a few initial set up questions. We set it up effortlessly with both interior and exterior lights and two light strips. Connected a stereo outside on Halloween night. Our house was the scariest in the neighborhood by far! Loved the extra package with additional noises, it was worth the extra $. Thank you for a great app and great communication!

Drains battery like crazy. This update is horrible. Even after plugging in my iPhone, this app drained its battery from 85% to 0% in about 2 hours of use. I didn't know that was even physically possible while plugged in! Battery usage in the Settings app confirms Huelloween used over 58% of my battery in the last 24 hours. Amazing! The developer of this app must be a horrible programmer. My only guess is that the new Auto Play mode is implemented using a tight loop that checks the time every iteration to see if it needs to play an effect. This is astoundingly bad practice, and anyone with more than a month's programming experience knows to use timers for this. I'm impressed that such a poor programmer managed to make an app that does anything at all!

Get Ready to Party!. I’ve had the Hue Halloween app for several years (also by imakestuff), and it’s fun, but I really wanted a comprehensive sequence I could use for an entire party. Hue Haunted House is perfect! We’re going to keep the music & sound effects running in the foyer, while the app controls the lights throughout the house. This app is well worth the price. Thank you imakestuff!!

Works fine. I have tested this App and plan to use it for this coming Halloween night. The choices for effects are good as well as the "Theme" music/sounds, but feel there could be a lot more added to this as time goes on. Ertainly more choices for sound effects. Also - it should be noted that you can ONLY use this with the Hue Lightbulbs only and not the Hue Go or Hue Bloom - it would be nice if those optional lights could be used in this App. Otherwise, it gets the job done.

No Audio. The audio does not work after the last few updates. I tested on and IPad and I phone X. Very disappointing as part of the effect is the audio.

Awesome but.... I really wish there was a automatic option where the noises would randomly go off. But beside that pretty solid app

The bomb!. This app was sooo fun for trick or treat. I love changing the lights and playing new sound effects when kids come up to the door. Too fun.

Great hue companion app!. This marks three years for me with Hue Halloween but my first year in my new home. Previously, I used one hue bulb and this app and the kids loved it on my front porch! This is the biggest update for this app since I've had it. I love how it now can auto play and sync with the hue motion sensor! My new home has three recessed lights on the front porch so I outfitted them with hue flood lights. This app, the lights, and sound effects are fantastic! I place a Bluetooth speaker out of sight. Super easy and really looks legit. I'm supper happy with this app and wish all hue companion apps were this good. The extra effects are worth the buy!

Fantastic update. I'm not one to review apps, but this is an extremely significant update. I'm hoping the Christmas app sees a similar update over the next few months. The effects are all re-timed, the newer music and effects are all equally impressive and the motion sensor inclusion is a wonderful improvement to an already great app. I'm equally happy with the enhancements to handle multiple bulbs after using the app. Keep up the good work.

Perfect for my party. I can't believe how awesome this app is. Super easy to setup and use and the effects are amazing. I'm planning on pairing this with my Bluetooth speaker in the bathroom for my Halloween party and I'm sure it's going to be a big hit. I just wish I had a Hue sensor. Maybe next year :)

Unusable with most recent update. After the most recent update, the app is broken. It is a shame, because it was a pretty great app. And the fact that it broke just in time for Halloween really stinks. I hope they fix it.

Got the job done. Works well and the sounds were perfect for sprucing up the front of our house for halloween. The UI can use some polish since it doesn’t resize properly on an iPad landscape mode where the music options are not accessible.

Nice Fun App For Hue. This app works great and is a lot of fun. Highly recommended. Dev: You should make this work on AppleTV.

High quality. Five whole stars.. Really cool effects that sync well with the lights. Turns my whole apartment into a haunted house without even having to buy Halloween decorations.

So easy, so good. Allows me to transform my house into a haunted house in minutes. You do have to specify which lamps to use, I have 28 hue bulbs around the house, so I turned them all off, and chose 3-5 to use. If you use too many the effects tend to happen where you don't see them. Great app.

So Far, So Good. I've only been running this app for a few hours, but this is going to be unbelievably awesome for an upcoming Halloween party. Have the sound running through a JBL Pulse speaker. It synchronizes perfectly with the light show. The thunder and lightning effect is amazing. So far best app I've come across for Halloween effects. I've only used with my iPhone 6 so far. No problems.

Great effects. This worked great on Halloween. Provided atmosphere I got compliments for and with the effects you can dial it up to be more scary when trick-or-treaters were older. Well worth it.

Cool too bad can't use remotely. Very cool app. So far love the affects. Agree with some comments all lights are blue and white. Should expand color spectrum. Also too bad you can't use this app remotely like I can with the hue app. Would love to suddenly switch it on when I am away and friends are house sitting or partner is home alone. That would be really cool.

Settings not working. Lights are extremely dim, even setting it to max the lights are dim, outside can’t see anything, please let the settings take efffect!

It's great. I think more lights should interact with each other when a effect goes off. I also would love to see a thunderstorm "mood" I think that would be a really cool effect!

I am impressed. I used 3 hue lights to run with this app. Great effects! They all run at the same time, but it cycles threw one light at a time for the individual sound effects (witches, creeky doors, wolves, etc). One light on the porch, 2 in the Windows, and a Bluetooth stereo, made for some great trick or treat effects.

Multiple lights with one effect. I wish the effects would work multiple lights at the same time. Appears to use one light, finish, then use next light with next effect and repeat.

Really enjoyed this app. This app is an easy way to apply some Halloween special effects with limited effort. I wish the moods would include different hues. They all seem to range from the purpleish to the pinkish. Deeper blues and greens would be a plus. All in all. I really like that each light takes on a life of its own.

Awful app, not worth it!!. You select the bulbs you want to use and it keeps deselecting a bunch automatically. I expected all my bulbs to have effects but it's only one at a time. All the colors are just purple!! It's Halloween, give me some orange. The app crashes all the time in the selection menu and it's unclear how to effectively use this. Waste of money.

So much fun!. I have been having so much fun with this app. Just added a motion sensor to ramp up the fun when the kids come knocking. I have 50 hue lights in total inside and outside our house and whole house audio in every room and outside. This app works flawlessly every time we use it. I just run it through one of our iPads on a charging dock and let it go. Can’t wait to see what additional features the app developers come up with over time. Possible color controls and being able to set groups of lights to do different features at the same time would be awesome! Thank you for all your apps, I have them all!

Good, but not very customizable. The concept is great and the new update adds a lot of needed control, however it would be nice to more controls like mood color selection, the option to not have moods change light colors (only the effects), and mood brightness. I'm unable to use the mood's audio I like best because the lights change and it doesn't work well with the effects. The main reason I'm giving this 3 stars, is because I had to pay again to get the new effects. I don't think we should have to pay to get updates. Improving the app in general will result in more people buying it. I believe that's more fair than charging your customers every time you do an update.

Exceeds Expectations. Moved our Philips Hue lights to the porch, dragged the bluetooth speaker outside, 5 minutes later we were the house on the block that "took Halloween seriously." This app was totally awesome and we loved it! If you've got the hardware, it's totally worth it.

Spooky great. Provided you have at least a couple of hue Color bulbs and a speaker (HomePod in my case), this app is well worth the purchase. I had it up and running in seconds and the different colours, flickering and sound effects are every bit as good as any haunted house…

Quick and easy, good quality sounds and effects. I was looking for an app that would control a few white bulbs hue bulbs I had laying around for the Halloween decorations. Initially just wanted a light to mimic a fallen lamp that was flickering but oh boy, bought this app and immediately went to buy more hue bulbs with colour, it’s fantastic! Doesn't Work. Worked last year. This year, using exact same devices, bridge, network and iOS 10.3.3, wouldn't connect to bridge -- automatically or manually. Reloaded several times. Just. Doesn't. Work. Disappointing.

Works great. Nice effects.. Good sound and nice lighting effects. Wish you could pick which effects to use on the loop feature just like you can pick which lights to use.

2017 October 31 works great. I bit the bullet and decided to try it even though it was rated low. I think all the bugs are fixed. Works great with my setup 2 hue bulbs and 1 bridge. Colour changes are instant. I like the triggering effects with background sounds.

Cute. Fun for 5 minutes, then I regretted paying for the combo pack. Apps like this makes me wish Apple has the 15 minute return policy like the Google Store.

Works well enough.. It works well enough and does random light changes synced to music and effects. The only thing (which is a big thing for me) is that I wish you could group lights together in this app and play the scene across the groups so you could have one room flash red instead of each bulb doing its own thing. I have a few large pendants that have 4 hue bulbs each in them and it would be nice if you could treat each pendant as one light instead of having 4 different things going on in the light.

Didn’t completely scare trick-or-treaters away. I tried this out Halloween 2017 in a last minute attempt to decorate for trick-or-treaters. I had a speaker outside playing effects and turned off all non-Hue lights at our house (we have a lot of Hue lights). The sound effects times to the lights were super spooky. We could see as kids were approaching and played lots of the effects over the mood. It didn’t totally deter anyone, but it sure took them a long time to reach our door! ;-) Months later I’m still getting comments from parents about how great it was. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it wasn’t totally intuitive and a couple times I had to restart it.

More Fun With Hue. All of these apps for the Hue Light are a blast - the lights time with Halloween music and noises and blink/glow appropriately goulishly. Can't wait until Halloween!

Worthless. Since the last Hue update, this app is worthless! Only 1 or 2 lights respond to any of the commands... And it's not like these updates come as a surprise.... Just sad on this app's response to the updates... I'm sure they'll update it time for Halloween in 2018!

Don’t waste your money. Only changes one light at a time. Instead get ilightshow which pairs with Spotify. It will change all of your lights. You can search for spooky sounds on Spotify and it works great.

Lame. This app is rather lame. For starters, i recognize some of these sounds from YouTube, so not all that original. Second, you can’t make any of these loop indefinitely. I was hoping there was a heart beat mode, and there is, but the color isn’t just red, it changes with each beat. Who wants that? In general, these Hue apps fall far short of actually being cool. The light sequences aren’t all that coordinated and there nothing here you can actually use for anything more than novelty.

Crashed the ONLY DAY i needed it!. So... Halloween is here and my App does not work. It crashes after loading. I tried it on different NEW devices and got the same outcome. If not resolved soon i am asking for my money back!!
