Arrow keys do not work. Please fix this!!

Desperately needs better keyboard support. I use this app a lot on the iPad, for both personal and business use. Connections are very solid, and the interface is responsive. I find mouse support to be very good with my propoint. What is terrible is keyboard support. Control and Alt are not recognized on iPad keyboards with the exception of ctrl+c, ctrl+v, ctrl+x. Even better would be support for the command key to remap to the ctrl key as on the Mac client. Either way, the current solution is so limiting for power users, no app-switching, no easy access to app shortcuts, etc. I find myself logging into my Mac remotely and then using the Mac client just to use keyboard shortcuts, but that slows things down significantly. Please improve keyboard support.

Heating issue with the M1. My iPad pro 2021 edition starts to heat up as soon as I open the app. It gets to unusual amount of heat when I login to my workspace. Can’t use it at all.

Could be so much better. The iPad version could be so much better - look at Jump Desktop - but no one seems to be paying attention. Others have reported the broken display at 1600x1200. I really want to like this app, but the developer doesn’t seem to care, which is a bummer because a solid iPad client could go great with the iPad Pros….

No sound to Bluetooth headphones. Sound only comes out from speakers, not from Bluetooth headsets like AirPods. Please update the app.

Yeah! Bluetooth keyboards working now!. The latest update does allow me to use my bluetooth keyboard which dramatically increases the effectiveness of the app on my iPad. The next defect to resolve is support "tab" to move from field to field in a form.

Needs iPad Pro support. Pretty reliable app and workspaces itself is a solid service. However it’s disappointing to have the app letterboxed on the iPad Pro, even though the device has been out for several months now. Hoping an update will fix this soon.

Needs Mouse/Trackpad and Keyboard Support. I got this app for use with the iPad Magic Keyboard, hoping to fully replace my laptop for general usage, but the complete lack of mouse/trackpad support, as well as poor keyboard support, render this app far less useful than it really should be. Please add support for these features and make AWS for iPad all it could be!

Display Artifact. For some reason on the right side of my iPad the workspace will not display parts of a window. It’s like an invisible artifact that allow any part of a window to show

Display issues on 11” iPad. Display issues persist with app for 3 years now. On 11” iPad right inch of display gets stuck. Difficult to work around.

Very Useful however…. I can’t get the arrow keys to function and this is causing me to not use it more. I do a lot of Excel work on my iPad connected to a client with AWS Workspaces. The Magic Keyboard creates a very satisfactory experience EXC EPT the arrow keys won’t map/work. This causes me to go back to my MacBook if I am going to need arrow keys. So strange that an otherwise very intuitive piece of engineering would bomb out on arrow keys. Like hitting a home run and forgetting to tag all the bases.

HELP!. Unable to connect last 2 days- while trying to connect goes into either a windows gray screen saying login or password invalid or a black screen

Does not connect most of the time and arrow keys do not work. Using 12.9 ipad pro with a magic keyboard. This does not connect half the time (or very slow to connect) compared to my PC. When it connects, the arrow keys do not work, nor does Ctrl+Alt+Delete and there is no way to map keys to the magic keyboard for convenience. It is not useful to have this app because it does not meet basic needs.

Display issues. Ugh!!!! STILL broken. Please fix the display issues on iPad 11” Pro. If I select 1600 x 1200 on an iPad Pro 11, there’s a 1-2” strip on the right side of the screen that doesn’t display anything but the wallpaper. If you drag something over there or maximize a window, anything that is in that strip is missing. Still there, because you can click on where you ‘think’ things are and they are there, you just can’t see them. Also, the double tap and drag would be useful as well. Lastly, it would be nice if the sound only paused other sounds already playing and then resumed them. In other words, if you have music playin the background, it stops totally when using your desktop. Stinks. But the display issue prevents me from using this. Click on “App Support” and a web page says Access Denied.

Instant crash, leisurely fix. When iOS 14.5 was publicly released, this app wasn’t ready. It would crash immediately after launching. It took a week for a fix to come. We still had to pay our subscription fees even though we were dead in the water. Also, when it does work, it constantly listens to my microphone.

So Close!. With just a couple of extra features, this app could be perfect! Please include split-screen and support for the x1 mouse. Thank you!

One key feature away from perfect. While ios does not offer mouse support, it does allow apps to implement mouse support. For example, Citrix app allows the use of the Citrix X1 mouse. So streamed desktops to the Citrix app enjoy mouse support. The same is true of JumpDesktop and the a partner mouse offering. While the virtual mouse implemented here is good, it isn’t so easy to do things like launch powershell with administrative privs. Please investigate enabling this support.

Saved credentials bugged, copy/paste doesn’t work. Generally an ok client with good streaming, but not nearly as good as Jump and other RDP clients. Two biggest current annoyances are: Saved credentials just does not work, you can enable the option, and it even prompt to save credentials, but you go to another app and come back, it has disconnected you and just prompts for credentials all over. Hopefully a bug that can be fixed. Copy/paste doesn’t work. I can’t manage to copy any text into a workspaces session. Once I thought I managed to copy text out to the ipad. Again, just too buggy for production use. The relative/touchpad mouse mode scaling makes the mouse fly around at a uselessly fast speed. That mode should be for fine control, but the opposite is true. Again see Jump for how to do mouse control well. The connection status display just says ‘calculating’ forever, how long does it take to calculate a ping time? About 54ms I figure :-) The radial dial has not option to disconnect _and_ hibernate/stop the instance.

Lacking modern features of the recent OS. Keyboards, mice, external displays, etc.. This app has the capacity to be a really great application, but is lagging on support of various features of the OS making it more or less impossible to use for any meaningful developer work. For example, when using Workspace from macOS, it properly redirects the cmd key to be the control key on the Windows 10 workspace. Mouse support came in iPadOS 13.4 which I think should be implemented. This would be the perfect application where these new API features could be implemented. Things like right clicking on my Bluetooth mouse does not right click in the Workspace app. Apple also has support for external displays. This app could make use of the app as a secondary display which would be fine for someone that had a Bluetooth mouse paired to the device.

Great App, poor integration with external keyboards, no mouse. This iPad app clearly is on its way somewhere, but in its current state cannot be used for developers without better integration with external iPad keyboards. Without any form of mouse support it is hard also to do basic tasks.

It crashes on IOS version 14.5.1. It’s nice to use this software on iPad. But after I upgraded the system to the latest version 14.5.1, it always crash. Could you please fix it?

Doesn’t work with iOS 14.5. Since upgrading to iOS 14.5 the app quits as soon as it is launched. Uninstalling and reinstalling makes no difference. Clicking the “App Support” link from the App Store here takes to a page that says “Not Authorized”, which is no help…

IOS 14.5.1 - HELP. The latest version of IOS on my Ipad no longer allows me to open the app. The app acts like it is going to open and then goes black and sends me back to the IOS home screen.

Needs Bluetooth Mouse Support to be a true replacement for laptop. Both Citrix Receiver and Jump Desktop have Bluetooth mouse support (X1 mouse or Jump's own mouse). Without it, this limits the iPad's ability to be a true laptop replacement.

Does not work with iPad new update. The app will no longer open after updating my iPad to the latest version even after deleting it and redos loading the application to the iPad.

Battery Life Issues for iPad Pro 5th Gen. This app drops my brand new 5th Gen 12.9 inch iPad Pro battery 1% every 45-45 seconds. That is horrible. It works fine on an older iPad. It needs to be updated to be compatible with newer generation models.

App no longer launches after latest iPadOS update. The app no longer launches. I tried clicking on the “App Support” link in the App Store, and it produces an “access denied” page in Safari. This is horrible.

Solid Showing. Little inconsistencies stop this from being a 5 Star review. Bluetooth keyboard works seamlessly, as expected. Typical iOS pinch to zoom work as expected as well. Obviously there is no mouse support, perhaps Apple Pencil support is on the way? For some reason, when I have video overlay playing the Bluetooth audio cuts out when I switch to the WorkSpaces client, weird!

No microphone/video/sound. Makes this app essentially useless

Mouse and keyboard support is great, but still some issues.. In 1600x1200 display mode, when you minimize windows, a strip of the right side of the window remains. In 1600x1200 or 1024x768 the very right side of the screen will not let anything show up on it. If you click the date to bring up the calendar, the popover calendar appears, but the right edge of it is truncated off, so the week ends at Thursday, there is no Friday or Saturday. When you drag windows, often the right edge of them will disappear. Edit: it took an awfully long time, but it’s fixed! The whole screen is usable now. It’s gone from “I can make do in a pinch” to “yeah, it works. I can just do my work without any fuss”

Magic Keyboard Support. Cannot use arrow keys, cannot map windows key. Unusable app that could make working from iPad so much easier. Take some pointers from Microsoft RD app.

No WSP support. WSP has been out for months but I can't use my workspace on my iPad since there is no support. Is there even a timeline?

Black Screen Crash. This app has given me so much trouble. Doesn’t open and crashes after one second of flashing a black screen. Putting me in the dumps with work!

Needs to be optimized for iPad Pro larger screens. App display is not using full screen size on iPad Pro 11” Disappointing to have the bigger screen but give up an inch and a half because app is not optimized...

Not working with iPadOS 14.5. I am unable to open a workspace since upgrading to 14.5. Every time I try to launch app, it immediately crashes. Have tried deleting/reinstalling. No change. Problem has existed (and been reported) since 14.5 release date, not hearing ANYTHING on this from developers.

Why No Up/Down/Sideways Movement?. This version of AWS fails to allow the iPad’s external keyboard to work with the up/down/left/right arrows. So, when you’re inside your AWS workspace, there’s very limited ability to maneuver, e.g., within a Word document, effectively rendering the keyboard largely useless.

enable split view iPad Pro. Love this app. It allows me to work from any where. I use it to run Quickbooks and it allows me to be mobile with my business. I would love to see split view enable for easy multitasking. It would be nice to be able to look at emails or PDFs doc when trying to type out estimates for customer.

Plz fix keyboard. I love this app on my iPad with iOS 9, but every time I tap the hide keyboard, it crashes and exits. It's very frustrating, please fix this.

Unusable. The app opens on start up on my iPad Air. I have tried to connect with App Support, but the link in the App Store takes me to a page that says “access denied”. This is embarrassing for you.

Navigational Keys DO NOT WORK. THE ARROW KEYS DO NOT WORK !!! You are 99% the way there, finish the last 1% so we can actually use the client. People NEED arrow keys. Period. You can clearly see comments with the SAME complaint. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

Excellent App. Excellent app; very easy to use and works great on my iPadAir. Finally, good way to access a Windows 7 desktop from an iPad!

Need some improvements to offset mouse mode. With Microsoft RDP, you can double tap and then drag to simulate dragging. As it is, offset mouse mode seems to have zero support for dragging which makes it almost a none starter for me. Every time I have to drag, I find myself having to switch to direct mode, and even then direct mode is too chunky to accurately drag what I want.

can even use this app. this app is pointless i keep getting a authentication error for the connection workspaces with WSP protocol is only working with my desktop version of this i needed this to work on the ipad this error i am getting is unable to establish connection because its not talking to the authentication server and claiming my internet is not working

Repeating key presses. When I use Firefox, I start typing into the url bar and my last key keeps repeating indefinitely making workspaces on the iPad virtually useless for me. I cannot type in usernames/passwords or anything useful. Just clicking around copy and pasting. Same thing happens when I type in the command line.

Almost Perfect. By far the smoothest way to connect to an AWS workspace via iPad, with just a few quirks. As is, this allows my iPad to replace my laptop for work. Mouse support is pretty remarkably good! Scrolling etc works now w/the Magic Keyboard case. Most keyboard commands work, though some are a little wonky. A killer feature I’d love to see is proper management of second displays. Currently you /can/ connect a USB-C display and mirror the iPad for a bigger screen while working, but it would be even better if it could run full resolution on both screens as separate displays!

Almost useful.. This is so close to a useful application. There seems to be an issue with the Magic Keyboard and the app understanding arrow keys input. Without this, it's pretty hard to do anything that this app is designed for... development and administration work. If the arrow keys worked, I could do 90% of my day job. Without that support, I can do 0%.

Won’t even open. Does not open so nothing to review here. Even clicking the “App Support” button here in the App Store brings up an error code with “ AccessDeniedAccess Denied”. That says it all really.

Please remove/reduce the thick, black border!. I’m really enjoying the Workspaces app on my iPad so far! The experience is reasonably smooth, and responsive. But it would be better if the app takes the full screen real estate of my iPad Pro (12.9 inch). I’m seeing a very thick, black border around the Windows desktop which could be removed to make the experience seamless. If the border is needed for some technical reasons, then please reduce its thickness at least. I’m looking forward for an update to fix this issue!

Drained my battery. Drained my fully charged iPad overnight after only using app for 5mins. What’s it trying to do in the background????

Bug with 1600x1200 on iPad Pro Models. Has bug where the first inch of the right side of the screen does not update when running in 1600x1200 video resolution, this is disappointing as the 1024x768 resolution is far too low and reduces the screen real estate. EDIT: I have found that this happens when using any resolution setting apart from “Default”, im assuming this has something to do with the resolution aspect ratio not matching the iPads screen resolution ratio.

Can't right click and drag on iPads. We recommend Amazon workspaces to one of our clients as a online Remote Desktop solution and it is nearly perfect for them. Unfortunately they have found that because of the unique touch control on the iPad version they cannot right click and drag which is stopping them from rotating their 3D images to show customers. Out client would be very happy if this was fix in the future version.

Not working at all!. No matter how hard, the app isn’t working. Disappointing!

Simply will not work on newer versions of iPadOS. I am on 14.5 and it will not launch. It just crashes instantly.

Very bad client. Not really ready for professional use. Extremely disappointing. It has no support for iPad Pro (and it's been out for more than a year), so graphics and software keyboard are awful. It does not work well with physical keyboards. Copy/paste is flaky. Pointer modes are not practical. It works, you can access and use your workspaces, but it doesn't do a good job. I expected a lot more from a paid service.

No support for Bluetooth audio. When any Bluetooth headset is connected all other apps route audio through them but this app instead send the audio through the iPad speakers. Only wired headphones work. This is not great when all modern mobile devices are moving to remove wired headphones.

Better but I can' t use that app for real work yet. The scroll is correct now. It is an improvement from the previous version. But cut and paste do not work well. I continue to recommand LogMeIn to work with Workspaces. How to reproduce my bug with cut and paste : 1. Goto wikipedia page for cut and paste ; 2. Select the texte from the title up to the second paragraph; 3. Copy the selection; 4. Open Microsoft Word and paste the selection in it; 5. Select the same text in Word and copy it with ctrl-c; 6. Open Notepad and paste the selection; You should see the problem... I do a lot a cut and paste. I can' t use that app for real work.

Crashes. Crashes upon launch after upgrading to iPadOS 14.5

iPad Air 5 is great on this after using Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. iPad Air 5 working great on AWS. I use Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to connect the iPad Air 5. It works perfect on AWS. It is same as I use AWS on PC. IPAD is easier for me to carry to anywhere instead of a lap top. The battery life on iPad is better than surface. But if I connect iPad to a external monitor, it can not adapt the whole monitor screen. It is just a window in the Center, not adapt the whole wide screen.

Nice App. Nice UI! Easy to use

1/4 baked at best. I really need this app to work, but the whole amazon workspaces offering seems barely capable. The client on Mac and iOS connecting to Linux workspaces is just terrible. I have not tried Windows. Right now it is only useful for an emergency when every little annoying thing is less annoying than driving home. Do better, Amazon. This is a paid product.

App crashes. It won't run on my ipad mini retina iOS7. As soon as I enter my registration code it crashes. Updated the app on 2/9. Still doesn't work on ipad mini retina. Hangs at "connecting".

Great app, butt having connection problems. Trying out the app to test the virtual space. Fiesta days where great. Then lots of mouse lag and connection problems from Mexico ISPs (telcel. Actel, Telmex )

Please support Magic keyboard trackpad. The trackpad on magic keyboard as well as several aspects of keyboard interaction are broken. Please fix this to make it viable to productively use AWS workspace with an ipad.

Application does not open. After entering my registration code, the application no longer opens successfully. I tried reinstalling the application but as soon as the registration code is entered, the application closes unexpectedly.

Broke on iOS 14.5. This app has been broken with iOS14.5 for a while now. I’m guessing the app development has stopped!?

Not quite useable.. In theory it’s a great application. However, having used multiple bluetooth and hardwired keyboards, the keyboard support is just…lacking. As at least one other user has noted, arrow keys don’t work. The delete/backspace key doesn’t work. Since the only thing I can’t do on my iPad is write code in a desktop environment…those two sets of buttons are kind of important. Trackpad/mouse support is meh. Usually works, almost always either way to sensitive or not sensitive enough. This app is an embarrassment to Amazon.

Confirmed to crash. This new app does crash on iOS7 and my iPad Air. Not sure if it'll work on older iPads running IOS 7. Will check and update.

Needs iPadOS 13.4 Mouse Support. Now that iPadOS officially supports Bluetooth mice (complete with right clicking and scroll wheel), Amazon needs to expand the mouse support in the Workspace client to support the same, along with native cursor support.

So much potential. I downloaded this app and setup my amazon workspace for use when I’m not at home so I could take advantage of my development resource. The potential of this to be a powerful app is there, but there is only one drawback: the keyboard. With workspaces and the onscreen keyboard, screen doesn’t have the ability to scroll out of the way so you can see what you're inputting. If you have to type into a screen where the text is behind the keyboard, you can’t see what you’re typing. The app really needs a way to allow the screen to be dynamically scrollable when the keyboard is visible.

AWS app is NO longer working on iPads. AWS (Amazon Workspace) was working perfectly fine for nearly 8 months for me on both my desktop and iPad until the 2023 new year. There had been an update pushed and now only my desktop version from different computers are working and no longer my iPads. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on two different iPads (of different models) and still not launching from the iPads only. This is a huge disappointment being it was so convenient on these little things. I get that same error, “we’re unable to establish a connection to the authentication server. Please ensure you can connect to the internet and try logging in again.” I just want to know what changed and how can I regain access on my iPad? Help please!!!

Broken in latest iPad OS update. Just update to 14.5.1 and now workspaces app keeps on crashing. In addition, third party USB security keys does not work.

Sounds like kind a creepy animal.. Expensive subscription. I got MS office 2010, but I can't afford almost $50 monthly. I just use "Jump Desktop", just one time payment. It works flawlessly.

Doesn’t work on 11” iPad Pro iOS 14 or 15. Cannot connect to workspaces desktop.

Half backed app. I use to work using JumpDesktop for my office VM.. Started using workspaces for the last 3 months since my office moved everything to aws. This is the worst remote desktop client comparing to anything available in the market. I use ipad pro 13 2020 with magic keyboard. Alt tab wont hold. You can only switch between current and last app.. cannot switch between all the open app Does not open the desktop in full screen even when connected to a monitor Control + C / control V wont work. cmd + c works intermittently. Reconnecting once why switch the app takes forever / fails With the company of this size, they are giving half working / half tested app. This app does not have any frequent update too. Its been while since it was updated. Not sure if amazon is really supporting / working on this are not.

Has Potential, But Little Effort. Has the potential to be great but no effort has been made to integrate the new magic keyboard for the iPad, and it closes almost every time I switch to another app and have to re-login. Also dual-screen is broken, but it’s so close to being good. It would take someone only a day or two to fix this! Come on Amazon...

Kinda worked until 14.5. 14.5 appeared to break the iOS Workspace App - and Amazon is fine with you paying for their service, you just can submit a support case unless you have paid support. So - I guess I will find a competitive solution.

IOS 14.5 IPad OS crashes immediately on launch. Since the official release of IPadOS 14.5, the amazon workspaces app crashes instantly on launch. It looks like Amazon has not regression tested this app for IPadOS 14.5 and now we cannot do our work.

Good, but needs to be better. Amazon workspaces itself is awesome. This client, however, needs some work. First off, you REALLY need to support ipad Pro’s. I have a nice big ipad pro, but massive black borders cut off a lot of my screen real estate. Horizon and citrix have fixed this. It’s time for Amazon to catch up. Mouse support could be better as well. Kind of hard to maneuver sometimes. Fix these issues and you have a 5 star review.

Magic Keyboard support is woeful. This app has been out forever and the support for Apple Magic Keyboard is spotty. Some keys don’t work, a large unsightly onscreen function bar is impossible to get rid of, etc. The main target audience for this app should be individuals using with Magic Keyboard on their iPad but somehow these are the features that don’t work. Fix this Amazon.

Does not work at all. Completely unusable. Typing a letter on the keyboard seems to never send the "release" event. Pressing any letter just makes it repeat infinitely on the workspace as if the key is held down.

Crashes since latest iOS update on 4/26/21. App won’t open and crashes since updating to latest version on iOS 14

Keyboard Crash. Before iOS 9, I would use this app all of the time. However, using the onscreen keyboard causes the app to crash with iOS 9. Using an external keyboard isn't a solution since some on screen controls are still needed. I have to say that I was expecting Amazon to have this app ready for the iOS 9 launch. Isn't a working client a part of the Amazon Workspaces service?
