ZipRecruiter Job Search Comments & Reviews 2026
Almost Perfect!. This company provides an exceptional service. I’ve been contacted by about 1 out of every 4 jobs I apply for. Applying is very simple and most of the jobs that this app recommended for me were accurate, other than a few that were a little comical actually. (For example it suggested a job as a Chief Financial Officer when I have almost no experience as I am a recent college grad) but other than that everything has been great. My only suggestion would be to integrate the messaging system into the app. If an employer uses the message system you can currently only reply to the message if you go on the ZipRecruiter website and sign in. It would not allow me to view or respond to the message in the app. It would make this app much better.
not yet hired but it just a great apps overall. rarely write reviews but I have to come here to give this incredible apps a 5 stars. What I like is 1-click apply, just have to upload your resume and update your profile then the app will do the rest for you. also the notification is incredible smarts, when you uploaded your application, you will also be notify when your application was received and viewed, which give a peace feeling that your application was successfully submitted. this is my first day using it so i haven't find anything negative things about it, maybe a little too much e-mail, but considering it a opportunity to find a new job so, nothing to complaints.
Give it a shot. Though at first it may seem daunting, and seem like it gives you the same job openings every time you log on, you have to remember it gives you opportunities based on what you look for. My advice is be creative in your searches, and step outside your comfort zone when applying. You never know who will get right back to you with the job you dreamed of. I only use ziprecruiter to look for jobs, and I’ve had success thus far. The app has a great layout, it’s easy to add resumes, information about you, etc., anything you would want someone who’s looking at your application to see. The one tap apply option is fantastic for when you get cold feet when looking into a job, because it applies for you before you can even rethink. That’s how I ended up at the job I’m getting right now, and believe me at 19 y/o I had absolutely no expectations to be making $18 an hour and having great benifits. Give it a try, and go for anything you like. Thanks ziprecruiter for helping me when I was questioning my pathways and the rest of my life!:)
Best App to Reach Employers and get Noticed. I have been using this app for only about 3 weeks now and the majority of my interviews and employment related communication has been a result of utilizing the app ZipRecruiter. When they notify you regarding your application being viewed by a company more than once as well they offer tips and options to make sure you get contacted and they market you as well to employers looking for candidates where you are great match for. I love how employers trust and have high standards for ZipRecruiter when it comes to finding the right people to do the job they have to offer. I have tried many job search engines but this one by far is the number one site and app that’s will put you in front of hiring managers every time.
Full of scammers not helpful. The idea of the app is great and I agree you can get a lot of interviews but by the wrong companies. From the moment I got this app the only companies calling me....and over and over again were desperate marketing companies and scamming companies. I would get calls for interviews and then call back with an additional question and then the phone line would suddenly not exist or be disconnected. The app has a feature that gives you the ability to adjust the job postings and notifications you get and after I adjusted it to surely specifically remove marketing, sales and “costumer service rep” jobs, and tailored my search to jobs I wanted nothing changed and I continued to get postings from the same marketing companies. These companies were such a mess that They didn’t even send me an interview address and would continually send me confirmation emails with no real information on them, I ended up just canceling the few that I had just because It almost didn’t even seem safe to go after not even being able to find the company on Glassdoor or google. The app is a good idea but the companies in relationship to it or horrible It’s amazing how the app shows 5 star and clearly there are several 1 stars...
Definitely my go to job app!. I absolutely LOVE this app I’ve tried a lot of job apps and this one is by far the best, though I haven’t gotten a job yet due to the fact that I just got the app, they have a lot of jobs that go with my qualifications, the job shows how much they pay either weekly or annually, the requirements and tasks and the best part is you don’t have to apply to every single one answering a thousand questions and what not, all you need to do is press the “1-tap apply” button and your set and you can apply to as many as you want, they email you or text you letting you know when your resumes been looked at and reviewed and well if your lucky you’ll get a email for an interview, this app is definitely the best I recommend this to everyone, hey and the best part is is free!!
Be Careful. The app works fine, but every single job I applied for ended up being a scam job. They claim to be one thing and then call, Text, call, email in the span of 2 minutes and immediately after applying - and all of a sudden the title of the position changes and so does the description. All of a sudden it’s a sales job. Mostly commission. Mass interviews. My phone was blowing up, and each time I would be filled with hope just to be let down in the worst way. Be wary of jobs texting you to set up interviews without ever speaking with you first. Be wary of jobs saying you can come in for multiple job interviews (marketing, administrative assistant, AND manager in training at one time?!?!). ZipRecruiter wasn’t helpful when I emailed them - I was trying to inquire about whether or not they were doing anything on my behalf because sometimes I SWEAR I hadn’t even applied to these jobs. It’s been an awful few days, and it’s been distracting me from real opportunities. Just be careful!
Easy app to use. Great app, you can really do anything on it from updating your resume, applying with “1 click”, and even getting references to add notes about you with a link sent directly to them. I haven’t done a job using the app yet but I’m sure I will. Something I really like is that is notifies you when your resume is viewed each time and the probability of how often that happens. There’s also a ton of other things you can add...your skills, format changes for your resume...the list literally goes on. My job matches aren’t always on point but it points you in the right general direction. There’s also way more jobs on zip recruiter than any other app or website I’ve used...at least for the restaurant industry..(comparing to CL, Instawork, etc) I think my only issue with zip recruiter as a whole is that they email me a little too much about “jobs they think I would like”... Overall a great app! Highly recommend even if you are new to job searching or have no idea how to use technology 😉. Good luck to anyone searching for a job! You definitely can’t go wrong with ZipRecruiter!
I GOT THE JOB!!!. I had no idea how to transfer my skills and experience from a different market/city as well as from a different field. I mean, how does one combine non-profit for program management, mental health advocacy, early childhood education and spiritual work. Well, low and behold, zip recruiter helped to ease this transition. Not only did they make applying east (one click wonder) but they identified themes within my qualifications and experience in order to land me the perfect job leading a team and mentoring youth and adults. So much so that the CEO, after interviewing me, offered me an entirely different job (not even yet posted) that suits me even better. At the start of my job search I knew I wanted a job that combines my passion with my skills, experience and innate talent. I’m grateful for zip recruiter for doing just that. I also really appreciated how the AI kept me updated on the progress of my applications so there was less guessing. Thank you for making such a stressful experience into a bit less work on behalf of both the candidates and employer. I’m thrilled for my new job!
Easy to use - with perks!. I applied to my first job posting on zip recruiter 4 days ago, after weeks of using google jobs, LinkedIn, Craigslist, and countless others. Not only did the service notify me when my resume was opened by the employer, zip recruiter also let me know my resume had been favorited. I’m a natural skeptic and saw those notifications as marketing ploys. Yet the following morning, I received an email from the hiring manager requesting a phone interview. I had the phone interview which resulted in a second in person interview next Wednesday. This was my first submission via the site!! I know it’s probably luck. It’s possible that by me being a new user my resume was pushed to the head of the pack. However, the entire experience has been almost effortless and the “1 click apply” is unmatched by other services I’ve used. If I receive no further interviews from zip’, the one I did receive was totally worth signing up. Wish me luck on interview #2 🤞🏾
SEARCH BY AVAILABILITY. I really wanted to like this app. It’s easy to set up a profile, and it’s easy to find jobs in the area. There are three issues I have with this app. 1. You can’t search by your availability. Most jobs listed on this app are 8am-5pm give or take an hour or two. If you’re looking for night shift or graveyard forget this app! Simplyhired and Indeed are much better. 2. I’m constantly getting emails for jobs I’m not qualified for. My resume is on this app. Obviously they can see that I’m not a diesel mechanic or physician. Stop recommending these jobs! It’s disheartening to get notification after notification for a job I would never be considered for. 3. The same company is posted over and over on their job suggestions page. No problem... you just dismiss it, right? Nope! It’ll be back tomorrow and the day after. I spend more time on this app dismissing jobs I’ve already dismissed than anything. On a positive note, this app helped me land an interview within the first few days. The post said evening job. Woohoo! I went through an hour long interview only for the interviewer to state the position would be in the morning for the first few months. Time wasted for both of us. Boo! I really would like to see zip recruiter make the work hours required for job postings to be listed! And make them searchable!
Don’t get why a job is on there when I can’t even apply. Ok so I downloaded this app, ok, great... I filled out my profile stuffs and resume and all that happy nonsense. I was browsing thru the jobs and saw one that was perfect for me. Well, I clicked apply and it sent me to another page that had three little dots connected by lines kind of in a sideways triangle pattern. And just below it was another “tap to apply” button. I pushed it and it sent me to yet another page so I could logon to my email. Well I put in my email, put in the password that I had just reset 3 minutes prior. And it said access denied. I thought it might have been me who messed up the Password or email, I double, triple, quadruple checked it... plus 3 or 4 more times. Then at the top of the page it reads this THIS JOB IS NOT HOSTED ON ZIPRECRUITER PLEASE TAP 🖤 FOR LATER VIEWING ON YOUR DESKTOP!!!???? How do I apply to the job without printing out an application and filling it out and doing all that nonsense that this app was supposed to cut out?! Signed, Confused unemployed one
With today’s “crazy” AI in the HR field — ZipRecruiter WINS!. I have independently studied the biased-effects of machine-driven scouring of online pools of talent for well over a decade, specifically in the infosec arena. Everything always came up short. Monster started out offering me Secret Service analyst positions and then quickly devolved into home health care/warehouse worker positions. Not! This company has created an amazing platform for hiring leaders, CEOs, HR departments or even startups looking for fresh talent. It provides a very good two-way matching process and provides the end user job seeker a refreshing glance as to where they fall in the open career marketplace. ZipRecruiter is amazing. You won’t be disappointed. Oh... and it’s EASY to import/upload your resume. Unlike those other places.
Extremely limited app and horrible customization. The ZipRecruiter app is almost useless. I continue to use it solely because it is a place that has a listing of jobs, even though their recommendations on matches are almost always incorrect. I have experience in dental front office positions so they mark dental assistant and hygienist jobs as good matches. In no world is that accurate as you need to be trained and certified specifically to be an assistant and actually go to hygiene school to be a hygienist but the word dental is in the listing so I guess it must be applicable, right? They’ll even recommend doctor positions and not just as a dentist but as a gynecologist! I have worked in dental insurance so they mark virtually any job with the word insurance in the title as a good match whether or not it’s dental (or even medical) in nature. There is no way to affect the types of jobs recommended because you can’t refute whatever they deem as a good match. If you accidentally apply to a job (the job recommendation removal button is very close to the one click apply button), there is no way to withdraw the application and THEN they suggest more jobs based on the mistaken application. Job search sites and apps are all fairly terrible (Indeed probably being the best option out of all I’ve tried and one I would most likely recommend) but ZipRecruiter is in a class of its own.
Effective!. This is one of the few apps that hasn’t even nagged me about a review. After 3 months of job hunting, my best leads and interviews have come from Zip Recruiter, I think in large part because of the ability to have people add letters of recommendation “on file” to set you apart from other candidates. I am (hopefully) down to my last few interviews and narrowing down a new job and career of my choosing. Job hunting is always a nerve wracking experience, but it feels like Zip Recruiter has had my back with updates on employers reviewing my application, notifications of new possible jobs, and a very user friendly interface at all levels of the job hunt process. I highly recommend Zip Recruiter for your next foray into new career possibilities!
Very easy to use... too many scams. I started using this app while applying for jobs during the pandemic. I am trying to pick up the pieces from my career after feeling the effects of the economic shutdowns. While the app itself is very easy to use, I love that I can set up my profile and apply to jobs with a one tap process, I find that they do not screen the job offers very well. On my first day of using the app, I was offered two sales job interviews that were actually work from home positions which I was very happy about. Being the rather experienced professional that I am, I took my time to research the companies that were reaching out to me. Turns out that both of them were companies that are involved in pyramid schemes and dozens of lawsuits. I looked to see if there were other job offers on the app with the same companies and there were quite a few more jobs posted by these pyramid scheme companies. Overall I say it’s a great design and platform, but they should take more time to screen the job postings to avoid scams especially during these difficult economic times.
The Best, Bar None!. This Company is set up with the mission to get a good job, and they never stop. I don’t go a day without being able too check my email or texts without getting many messages that I have another possible job that is going too fit in perfectly well with the type of job that I have specified, and that I should take a look as soon as possible. They run like a well oiled machine, and they have the best setup for applying for a job out there. Most of the time I’m not asked for more than three questions, but I’m often asked to click yes to signify that I am interested, that’s it. I’m not going to be out of work for long. Thanks for your help and professionalism.! M. J. Pierce
Easy to use, love 1 click apply. I love the zip recruiter app! I have been looking for work for about 4 months to no avail. Started using the zip recruiter app after I tweaked my resume and got instant results. Zip recruiter lets me know when a possible employer opened and looked at my app/resume that I submitted, indeed and the several staffing agencies do not do this. The 1 click apply is awesome, just make sure that the resume you saved on zip recruiter is the one that you want to use, there is not reviewing your app or resume with the 1 click apply. I would however recommend to zip recruiter that they require companies to post pay/compensation ranges they are are willing to offer instead of forcing potential applicants to search on their own. This gives the companies free market research on what they can get away with paying people and it basically will make people devalue their potential pay at a future employer in the chance that they will obtain the position. Also, there are companies that like to mask sales jobs under different names. Just take your time to make sure you read and know what the expectations from you are and how your pay is based, which I have noticed a lot of the companies have done that.
Simple to use.. I rather like the one tap apply. I haven’t got a job yet from it. But I get some people check out my application more than once. I’m kinda new looking for me a job. I’ve dealt with so many of these app. I live the ai! I want it knowing I appreciate technology! They work so hard for us all. I would love to repay you myself! I love everything you all do. I’m nothing without you! My time is to give them a huge High five! You are all the best no matter what you do! I want to work with these robots, ai ai means amazing individuals! Accurate intellectual. Ambidextrous innocents that need love. I want to enjoy more of s future where I can apreciare the amazing ones. You are beautiful!
Good app for quick apply. Nice app for quick apply, Zip does a nice job. I find that some of the jobs don’t live up to their expectations in their ads so beware of this. This is no fault of Zip. Zip does their best to post decent jobs. But again I must caution the applicant to ask questions. A recruiter called me about a truck delivery job position and informed me it would be a contract 90 day position that would lead to a permanent position. I asked her what was the variable hiring rate, she informed me it was 90%. That variable is very low. The actual variable should be 97-98%. Either she didn’t know her numbers, or was not prepared to answer that kind question or there is something wrong with their client companies that have a discriminatory excuse to use people trying find jobs and are let go for no reason. How do I know? I have an MBA and studied companies and their hiring methods. I’m only informing you to be aware of companies that use talented individuals for their own gain.
BEST EMPLOYMENT SEARCH SERVICE ONLINE. I really like this service. They do a pretty good job of matching jobs, although I sometimes get weird jobs sent to me..example: I am a social worker and frequently get nursing jobs sent to me. But it’s not a big deal. I haven’t come across scams-those tend to be in sales and some customer service. I like that Zip keeps you up to date on your application status such as emails each time a prospective employer views your app. It’s encouraging, which I like since job searching can be a blow to your ego. I’ve had times my app has been viewed 3 times and Ziprecruiter gets excited with you. Love that! Their job pool is kind of small compared to Indeed and Career Builder, but I like that. I’m just putting my toe in the water in looking for a job after a long time of not working. I think once I get more serious I will make Ziprecruiter my first choice, but I will most likely use Indeed too...adding more search help as needed. If you want personalized service and encouraging emails along the way choose Ziprecruiter. Plus their 1-tap apply is a great feature too!!
Better than Indeed and Careerbuilder! Hands Down!. Best app for employment search. I got hired within a few days after posting my resume AND cover letter to a law firm. Just remember that nowadays, cover letters HELP as it shows you took the extra time to do it. Plus, it sends a more personal message. This app notifies you when or if the employer viewed your resume for the first, second and third time. It also shows if you got favored. The best part is the messaging directly between you and the employer. Just remember to check the messages on a desktop or desktop version on your phone because the app might skip a few. I learned that the hard way lol anyway, I wish the best of luck to you in your search!
Great way to find a job. The first & only job I applied to on here was the job I ended up getting (yay). So this app/website works really well to help you find a job, but it has some areas that could be improved. For example the messages tab, whenever I would receive a message I never got a notification from the app. I would only get emails, which okay yes they work but I think it would be useful to have a way to get notifications from the app. Plus between the time of my interview and my first day I tried to message my new employer on through it, and he said he saw it and replied. But I never got that message. The other issue I kept having (and why the rating is so low), is that even though I updated my account MULTIPLE times saying I got hired already nothing would stop the emails. I also tried to unsubscribe and it still hasn’t stopped. I’m not getting a ton of emails, but I am getting quite a few on a regular basis. I was also getting at least 1/2 notifications a day from the app too but I finally just turned those off. Please just make it easier to hold or deactivate an account. Once these things are fixed I think it would be an amazing app, I’m just tired of all the emails right now.
Few problems. It’s a good app for finding jobs and helps out a lot. However, if the application isn’t ran by Zip recruiter and is instead ran by another website it’s too difficult to apply for that job. It doesn’t load or it takes ages and I just give up waiting. Maybe it’s just too laggy on my phone. Also, everytime I go to the “Zero experience” section it very ironically gives me jobs that require high level college degrees. How does that happen? I don’t know. Another problem is that it doesn’t always give addresses for the building it just gives a number and I don’t know what it means. Also it’s happened that I’ve applied for a position implied to be nearby and been called in by the same company to a location much further away then what I thought I applied for all because the location is not clearly given.
Not as effective as expected. I have used the app a little less than 90 days now. It could be one of the best, but staffing agencies are searching for candidates here. They call often with the same line "hi, I saw your resume posted on the site". I have not applied for staffing agencies and have no interest to do so. It is frustrating to receive calls for dishwasher, server, file clerk, or administrative assistant positions when I have several college degrees, certifications, and years of experience. The reps are always rude and hang up when I refuse their offers. My resume should not be readily available to be shopped out to their employers. Also, most of the employers that I am matched with here or that I have applied to do not follow up on the applications. Instead, they post the same job on a different site at a later time. I received a single call back this week, after clicking "super apply" two weeks ago for an HR position on the site. The company rep, who also turned out to be another staffing agency rep, called to offer me an office assistant position, not an HR position. The site has not served my needs at all. I hesitate to apply for anything because I do not want to be contacted by rude staffing agencies for jobs that I am not interested in.
I don’t usually write reviews!. I’ve been avoiding this for a while, but I see so many critical and skeptical reviews I’m in shock. I’ve had this app for a few years. Initially I was getting interviews and hired the same day, but the jobs weren’t really a good fit. I came home one day and updated my resume with just the positions I was looking for and voila, I had real options. Then I happened to obtain the position I have through a friend but, I acquired all of my documents and ended up offered a position through her earning more in 2 days then a week with my job and the hours allowed for me to work both. Now due to life I’m still with my original company which happens to advertise through here as well, and within an hour of updating my resume I have 5 interviews set up. I’ve yet to have to pay for anything unless requested by the employer which is a no no, and over all the app is helpful and informative. The same as an employment agency without taking 60% of my actual earnings. I think it’s worth the effort if you want to get working, you don’t have to struggle as hard while you’re still searching for your perfect job.
Still hard to find remote jobs. I dug through the reviews, and saw one from 1y ago mentioning their difficulty with finding Remote-only jobs. Seems since then, the app hasn’t changed with the times, as I still am having the same problems. Their “AI” e-mail assistant Phil needs a lot of work, too, as he 9/10 of the time he sends useless things to me, and there’s no way to tweak the results he tries to find. On another note, I am heavily visually disabled, and there are NO ways to make this app more readable to me — no dark mode, an no adjusting of the text size — to make this more readable for me without using the iPad’s own OS accessability features. So, another way in which ZipRecruiter needs to change with the times. So many other apps with what I presume have much lower budgets than big-time Zip Recruiter have a “dark mode” button…
Review. I have the same problem as several other people who have posted. I am inundated with jobs that are way outside my experience and specifications. I’m looking for an Executive Assistant job and yet I get postings for fast food restaurants, warehouses and delivery jobs. Someone even called me and asked if I have a car? I said no because I live one block from the commuter train in downtown DC. She then went on to say that she had a job that would get some money coming in right away. Turns out it was food delivery. When I said I just told you I don’t have a car, her reply was that I could use a bicycle. From my resume, anyone with a brain could see that I have about 30 years experience working for very high level executives in highly recognized and well-respected companies. At my age and with my experience, I’m not looking to ride a bicycle around delivering food. I hung up and had a good laugh! If that was the only one, fine, but I get e-mails, messages and phone calls all day long. It becomes very confusing and a lot of them are scams. I do like the one-click quick apply jobs. But please stick to jobs that have something to do with the resume I posted. Thank you!
App is useless in Northwestern Washington. I had great success using this app during the pandemic living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Lots of interviews and great opportunities, including two that led to the highest paying jobs of my life. Last fall, I moved to the PNW and primarily search Executive Assistant jobs and there are none. Then, if I search administrative positions in the medical field it thinks I’m a nurse or a dentist or physical therapist and floods my Inbox with those. It’s useless garbage now! The jobs coming up are totally irrelevant and even if I choose “Remote” I get tons of non-remote jobs. 100% of the so-called remote jobs are bogus scams not real employers. If I limit my search to my geographical area, it still includes jobs in Seattle, two hours away. Fix it. I had to switch to Indeed. I find it hard to believe there are literally no jobs up here for a seasoned EA.
Don’t Upload Your Resume / CV. Unfortunately, it’s a bad first impression to upload your CV to a job search app and you have to spend time cleaning up the auto input / recognition that scans your resume and attempts to itemize your job history and education. Zip Recruiter should suggest that you manually input your resume to start off with as it’s a time waster to delete / edit entries after uploading your resume. Highly recommended that you open your account through a web browser — not the app. Then manually enter your details. The app is simply not sophisticated enough to identify entries from a Word or PDF doc to be able to auto-input your job history and education into a cohesive manner. Simply put, everything was jumbled and I ended up giving up so that I can just wait until I get home to fill out the entries manually on my computer. Next, ZR should compel employers to — at the very least - post a salary range. It’s a waste to time (and most likely, quite rude to employers) to be upfront and ask about the salary before the interview even begins. It’s much easier to sort through prospects as an employee when you’re zeroing in on job prospects only to be disappointed at the announcement of the salary. Lastly, ZR needs to sort through the employers who are masking their sales jobs into other cleverly deceptive pseudonym titles, thereby deceiving job searchers.
Easy to use. I’ve used LinkedIn for about 3-4 months applying to jobs constantly with no response from even the basic of jobs while the app constantly blows up my email for “new opportunities” I’ve had this app for less than a week (4 days I believe) and have an interview tomorrow. If you’re struggling, and or just looking for a new job, I would recommend using ZipRecruiter. The one-tap apply feature helps you push out your resume fast and easy, allowing you to apply for multiple jobs in just a few minutes. Allowing you to look at more opportunities for employment near you. This app has honestly helped me out a great deal and I’m sure it would help others like me regardless of how experienced or inexperience you may be.
⚡️ Found my first job in my field! ⚡️. (Not Sponsored by ZipRecruiter, I just wanted to share my experience! ☺️) I have been job searching since graduating college five months ago, and I finally found the one! 🎉 I was using all of the top job search apps (ZipRecruiter, Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor), and was getting a consistent flow of interviews. But between all of them, I got most of my interviews through ZipRecruiter! Before I knew it, I was accepting an offer for my first job in my field! ZipRecruiter is easily my favorite job search app, because it really goes the extra mile to help you find the job! For one, the emails you get will either suggest more jobs to apply to (which I was in no position to refuse 😂), or they will give you updates about your applications (which are way more common than other apps). These updates will tell you when an employer views your application or when they give you a “like”, which I hadn’t seen in other apps. For the job I recently got, I was notified that they had viewed my application THREE times and they even gave me a “like” as well. So, I really felt like my chances were good, and it was nice to be updated! I feel like ZipRecruiter does a great job at creating a connection between the employer and the applicant, and I would highly recommend it!
Great for big cities. I had a bad experience at first because I lived in a small town with very limited job results when using zip recruiter. I assumed that Indeed was the better option until I moved to Tampa. I couldn’t find many opportunities on Indeed that were relevant to my experience so I decided to give Zip Recruiter another try. Now that I live in a bigger city Zip Recruiter has been extremely valuable to my job search and I love the One Click application feature. I’d recommend downloading at least two different job finder apps to help find the best opportunity for you. Some companies use indeed some use zip recruiter and some require applying on their company website.
This app has become a waste of space and energy.. I used to like the app way better when temp agencies weren’t a plague on this platform, almost no direct hire options anymore. Not to mention there is no moderation for spam; out of 10 listings 8 belong to the same stupid agency. Why would I need your app if I can just walk into an employment office and not have to wait for a call back? Also why fill out a job history when I still need to fill out an app? Even with 1-tap I find myself still having to go to a different site and put in applications! As far as I’m concerned the advertising is a complete lie, just go to a temp agency and save your email the trouble. Many many reasons to use another platform since this is essentially just something to riddle my junk folder with jobs I’m not even qualified for. Waste of time and storage space, LinkedIn wins again, good job Zip! 😁
Not impressed. This app will not stick to my location and distance I put in for my job search. I don’t want jobs 50 miles away. I specifically put in no farther than 10 miles and the list of jobs in the app are all in the same town 50 miles away. The emails I receive are never the right jobs. I’m an accountant. That should not translate to any job with the word account in it. I get too many sales job suggestions by email, plus other jobs that make no sense based on my profile and resume. The other thing I don’t like is when I get an alert from the app there is no indicator that anything new has been listed. Why not have the job listings with new jobs at the top and highlighted as such. That is not my experience. The same job has been at the top forever so I have no idea what is new unless I check my email. I have also received an alert to see a dot next to my profile but I have no idea what that means. I click on my profile and there is nothing to tell me why it was there. Needs work.
Bad recommendations, too far away, w/ pros as well. I specifically say 25 miles away and I’m getting recommendations for jobs 48+ miles away! I’m in NJ I’m not in the middle of nowhere. And why if I’m “hiding” RN, CNA, Truck Driver, etc. jobs am I only being shown those?? Those mixed in with customer service reps, and a few others. Has to be better work out there :( I like that you can “one tap apply” tho and I like your resume set up. Update: I just read your feedback. Thanks for responding. I would like assistance so I will be contacting them. Please don’t act like I’m doing something wrong here because I’m not. For whatever reason the app is not working properly and that’s the reason I’m having these problems. I’m sorry but I’m just giving my feedback and it’s valid feedback. I hope other people have better luck. The app does have potential and did get me a job in the times of covid... so that’s another plus
I got a job due to the app!. I used ZipRecruiter and was given an interview at a country club where I currently work. I already worked at Cracker Barrel and took on a 2nd job at the country club. Now have great insurance, PTO, double pay on holidays and they started me out making what took me 3 years and 4-5 raises to get to at my other job. So all this is to say that the app worked like it was supposed to, it showed all the things about the workplace that I was curious about and helped me land a great gig. I highly recommend using this app if you are looking to further your career as ZipRecruiter provides a plethora of opportunity and choice. Thanks and have a great day everyone!
Decent app, Robot recruiter is annoying. Hi, your app is good but would you consider giving more granular control over your job suggestions? I’d pay for this functionality. I still get relentless irrelevant emails after disabling these notifications. Your one resume limit also pigeon holes me as senior level professional stuck in a career field I’m trying to leave and I need reliable control over finding job profiles with different experience levels. The one resume limit forces me to write a one-size fits all cover letter for “quick apply” jobs and that’s not even practical in this competitive job market. Recruiters hate lazy job seekers that show no effort to stand out for jobs. You’ve gotta give people the ability to manipulate their own search algorithm instead of basing it purely on run-of-the-mill hierarchies of keyword/experience intelligence automation. Yes, I get tech jobs have critical niche skill sets, but you’re eliminating weighted cross-functional skills with this logic and perpetuating employers to continue looking for their unicorn candidates. Just think on this and ask yourself why employers keep reporting labor shortages. Who’s fault is it? It’s the entire system but you can help change it!!!
Beautifully disappointing. Myself and my significant other decided to try out this app in an attempt to better ourselves and our livelihood. On the surface, it appears inviting and well-put-together… and it is! However the community really drags down the quality. The employers are plagued by heathens just trying to prey on people like us who are trying to better our lives. Remember: if it is too good to be true, it DEFINITELY is. They try everything they can to steal your information whilst posing as potential employers. And there are A LOT of them. It has gotten to the point where every potential opportunity is suspicious and it makes it rather difficult starting off on the right foot when you spend your entire interview wondering when they will try to steal your identity. The other issue I have is with the employers. It isn’t the Zips fault, however when you finally sift through the predators, there are many unprofessional employers who abuse the app as well. My personal favorites are the ones who advertise a position, you go in, and the position was nothing as advertised. Another common occurrence is false scheduling advertising. You get ready, get your mind set for success, ace your interview; only to be told that the schedule advertised couldn’t be offered. Total waste of time and energy.
Unmatched and Worth Signing Up. People, the site is free to sign up! In addition, the jobs come to you so no more heavy searching. The most valued part of this app is they actually advise when your resume has been reviewed, so your able to work with some measures. Twice, my resume was reviewed for a second time and even a third time from another company, and those results were returned to me stating the value behind a secondary or third review! Even if you’re not chosen for the position, it’s great feedback and great for your spirit. This App is all that I need and all that I use. The progress in my job search has been fruitful and I am very pleased. After saying that, let me reiterate, it’s free. Don’t wait another moment, sign up and make your search simpler! Great Job Hunting and Good Luck on your find! -Val
I got so many Interviews!. This app is really easy to use once you get all set up. The ability to "1-click Apply" is invaluable. You can really get your name out there. Plus they even let you know once a hiring manager has viewed your resume which is comforting because even if they dont contact your for an interview you at least know your not shooting your application off into a void. Lastly I have to say, I've never had as much progress in my job search as I've had once I started using Zip. I've been contacted for three different interviews in the first week and I've been using Indeed for ages without those same impressive results. I definitely think this is an amazing app, worth the try 😊
Great App - mostly. I love the 1-Click Apply feature, makes it very easy to submit your resume without filling out the same information over and over. What I don’t like about the app are the constant emails and texts from Phil@Ziprecruiter who almost certainly isn’t a real person. That’s what annoys me about job searching these days altogether though. There is little to no actual personal contact!! Some people don’t have impressive resumes - they haven’t gone to great schools or even finished college but that doesn’t meant they won’t make great, dependable employees. Having a single conversation could help you communicate your intelligence and knowledge about certain things that just can’t be on a piece of paper. I’m sorry but there are just some things in life you need to be able to discuss with another living human being. Wow that was a definite derailing of my thought train, apologies. As far as job search apps go this one deserves its 4 Stars!
Zip is a must have. Zip has help millions of people just like me find not only a job but an opportunity for a career. Easy to use and easy to apply for opportunities. Stop stressing and make your life a bit better with the Zip app. You can only go up from that point on. Thousands of businesses use Zip recruiting to find the perfect employees “YOU” to fill important areas of their business. Don’t let that perfect career slip by from using other apps, use Zip and I promise your life will change in a zippy. It’s a great feeling when you receive employment opportunity’s daily and have the chance to have multiple opinions at your fingertips. Please don’t go by what I’m saying give it a try for yourself and see for yourself what Zip can do for you.
The most frustrating job seeking app. Ziprecruiter constantly gives irrelevant results when I try to find suitable jobs. Imagine giving this app your entire experience and qualification repertoire, including degrees, certificates, and licenses, and searching for data analyst jobs, only to be given recommendation after recommendation for LPN, RN, and primary care provider. And when you finally find a job that could be suitable, you’re bombarded with ridiculous question after ridiculous question. Other apps typically allow you to autofill information from your profile, like your phone number, but you have to keep filling it out along with every like question you’re asked. Additionally, the app says that certain questions are optional, but you’re not allowed to proceed in the form without putting down an answer. This isn’t helpful when the demographics questions come up and I want to refuse to provide an answer. That’s the Ziprecruiter experience.
You give scammers a platform. I tried calling your customer care line, but my call just gets offered options yadah yadah... yeah you don’t sell our personal information but you gave these scammers a platform!!! Sure I sent in my email and phone number to them to get a job interview but I had to find out for myself they are scammers.. haven’t you heard of “vector/cutco digital marketing”? I hadn’t either so I took it up and tried to apply for the job entering in my email and phone number. I had an interview this morning and all it was, was a guy on the screen saying we(a group interview)(we couldn’t see one another) then he has another screen that should play a video about the digital marketing work. Yet it never played so messaged it’s not playing, so he said he’d email it to me and he tried but with my Norton security it didn’t get through... anyways stop letting scammers have a platform. There’s never any assurance on the computer now a days. I’m just going to have to look in the dang news papers!!!
Irrelevant Jobs. Very easy to navigate with no issues except I do not like when I am choosing a certain field and the site lists fields that has nothing to do with what I chose. Example (this really happened), I chose Medical and Zip Recruiter literally sent me a whole list of Truck Driving or CDL jobs. The other issue is the forwarding of your resume to multiple employers again which has nothing to do with jobs or fields you signed up for. Another example again (yes it happened to me), after once again choosing Medical I received several emails from different Realtors asking me to confirm that I am interested in a Realtor position. I don’t like that Zip Recruiter automatically forwards your resume to random Employers and literally sends you an email stating it is to assist with hiring when they are not matching the jobs of your choice prior to forwarding. I hope this can be resolved or removed from your site. I do not want emails or an Employer reaching out to me for a position number one that I did not choose, not interested in and certainly does not have anything to do with the field or type of position I am interested in.
Far better than other job sites. I’ve been on the hunt for a job ever since I graduated college. I been actively hunting for four months and in all that time I got 1 interview. I was using Indeed, LinkedIn, Monster... anything I could. I’ve been using ziprecruiter for less than two weeks and have gotten 3 interviews. It’s so much easier than and simple to use than any other app. I like that you have ONE resume, rather than spending hours creating unique resumes for each position and never hearing back. I like that your references are included in your profile and are automatically sent. I like that I get notified when my resume is viewed, so I know whether I’ve been lost in the pile or not. It makes applying for jobs feel less soul-sucking and hope-draining. My only gripe would be that I receive WAY too many emails and the notifications setting are little confusing/difficult to access.
Junk and horrible customer service. So I had an account as an employer I tried to create a job seeker account as I was on the market easy right? NOPE I contacted these guys because it wouldn't let me set up an account easy peasy (they said) they deleted my employer account. Still wouldn't work i went back and forth with them at least 25 times via email forgot password reset account etc etc Problem was they never read what they told me to do so 3-4 days later when they finally replied they'd send the same instructions that didn't work before I kept trying and after literally 20 emails going back and forth being told the same thing over and over and over again I gave up and said I will be doing a review. They don't care, made me think of them and the customer service department are they inept at setting up an account how are they doing keeping your personal information secure? Yes I could probably use a different email but the point is the account I set up is still out there just there system doesn't work. You can tell a person to use forgot password 600 times that doesn't make it work. I work in CS and Management and have to say this was the worst service I've ever seen it's like none of them could read. Hopefully my personal information is safe. I suggest indeed for people on the market because these people don't have a clue
Difficult to search remote jobs.. If you were looking for a work from home job this app is not much help. There is not even a search function to search only for remote jobs. You can type remote in but you will get all the other jobs included. They need to change the search engine to update with modern times. People will continue to work from home more and more and this app needs to get on board. I spoke with customer service yesterday about this issue and she was in complete denial of the problem. She told me to type in remote in the keyword search then put the distance as any. Only a few remote jobs came up. Complete waste of time to use this app if you live in a small town and work from home is the only option to find suitable work. It’s worthless to me and many others. Please get some better customer service people. I don’t appreciate the tone. Never answer a question with a question. Never tell the customer they are wrong especially when they are right. Listen to the concerns. Do the research and respond appropriately. You deserve one star after my experience yesterday. Do better and make the appropriate changes so the app actually works properly. And stop hiring this younger generation for customer service roles. They do not know how to communicate properly and get attitude if you don’t like the incorrect answers they give you.
Better then the others!. Alright job seekers, it’s time for a better interactive platform for career/job hunting! Well, you’ve came to the right place! If you’re tired of the same old, boring platform that tells you that every job is a match, well ZipRecuriter is right for you! The platform is awesome! It shows you the salary of that position(and if needed request it for you with one click), its job searching algorithm layout is easy on the eyes, and so much more! You even get notifications of jobs that really matches, and not only that, they’ll advise you when your resume has been view, via email and through mobile texting (SMS)! Check’em out, I give my stamp of approval over the competitors!

Scams scams !!!. If you already created an account, get rid of it ASAP! Scammers got all your info by now a lot of fake companies / postings here don’t give your personal info / ID / pics.
PLEASE provide an iOS Dark Mode option for users.. I’d love to try and use this app, however, just like Indeed’s app, there doesn’t appear to be any Dark Mode option available to users. Having the app open for less than one minute is straining enough on the eyes for me to just close the app and forget about using the service altogether.
Got my job via ziprecruiter great application. Would highly recommend others to try
Useless. Just don’t get it. Waste of time
Useless. I have a set career path and I am nearly there. I am looking for exactly one job in the powerline technician sphere. Very specific. And they are sending me Uber driver jobs and circle k jobs absolutely nothing to do with what I asked for.
Hairstylist. Stop giving jobs in other countries or places when we ask for Toronto we mean Toronto not calling but either
Spam emails. They send atleast hundred emails for a job you never get
Pyramid Schemes- CAN. You can’t even find a legit job posting here in Canada. Every single one is a pyramid scheme for some insurance or something you need to PAY a bunch to work for them then only get commission (if you even make it to sales part of the job before being let go [based on company job reviews]). Seems they just let anybody put a job posting as long as you’re not a legit company. There literally wasn’t a single REAL posting for at least 2 weeks and that’s when I gave up on this app. May be better in the states but I doubt it. Also you’ll probably see their response saying if you’re concerned about a job send it here ->I’ve seen it on other postings, that’s there way of doing nothing so please don’t respond that and help your customers out(not me, them! )
So far so good. What a tool! Seems like best way to get yourself “out there”
Worst than Indeed which is bad. Tried this instead of Indeed. Way worse. Showing jobs abroad although I selected my location. Results are very poor
So much better. This one is so much better than stupid indeed or LinkedIn. I love the one tap apply feature
What’s with all the scam jobs??. The app is easy to use, but more work needs to be put into removing scam jobs, and their fake positive reviews. Examples? How about: Inkeros, AIL inc, AO team of Burnaby and I’m sure the list could go on but I’ve only been using zip for ONE day
Amazing. great app only problem is sends a lot of emails but nice app for people looking for workplace with no experience. love it ! 👍🏽👍🏽👌🏽
No response. After lots of “great match” review, it is frustrating as nothing happens once you apply. Nothing ....
Just started this App. I really like this app, very easy to use and also a lot of job opportunities
Waste’s applicants’ time. I have yet to find a job-hunting app that allows me to customize the jobs I see enough. Multiculturalism is great! But I can only speak one language, so I should have the option to filter out jobs that require proficiency in additional languages, as that’s a skill requirement I cannot meet by the start date. Commute time should also be filterable. The listings I see are selected for my city and greater surrounding areas, and since that’s Toronto and I don’t own a car, most jobs turn out to be too far away, and I have to find the address in the listing (if it’s even listed) then look it up on Google Maps to see if I can get there. The more time I spend mapping jobs I can’t realistically get to, the less time I have left to find the jobs that I should be applying to. Contrary to popular belief, applicants do not have unlimited time. Some of us are already working part or full time, going to school, etc. Shorter commutes are better for workers, so they have more energy and brain space for the job when they arrive, making the short commute better for employers. Most of all, they’re better for the earth. Job listing sites could fight global warming by helping workers shorten their commutes, but none are doing that. Imagine the marketplace advantage that the first site to add this feature will have…
Bad algorithm. The zip recruiter algorithm does not work, it keeps showing me jobs in another country and that are completely unrelated to what I have been searching/applying
Not made for Canadian Job seekers. It seemed like a robust job hunting site and app but unfortunately when busy past employers try to add a reference, there is no option for a Canadian Location. Zip should reference that before asking a job seeker to put them selfs in awkward situations with past employers
The local new paper is more advanced. I’ve been shown one relevant job in my area since starting my job search. If I’m being shown a good job it’s on the other side of the country. If I’m being shown a job in my area it’s completely irrelevant to my industry and experience. When I was a hiring manager we didn’t use this app but figured I’d give it a try as a job searcher. I can see why my company didn’t want to use this as a hiring tool. Use indeed , or local sources for job hunting if you want results.
Frozen. The app refuses to launch . I uninstalled. Reinstalled. Nothing . Have to go to the website .
This sites not worth your time. A lot of job posting, but no call backs.... Real frustrating when your resume is ”Great Match” ....🤬
Garbage!. This app gives you no real jobs! It’s just American Income Life putting ad after ad! It’s selling life insurance! If it’s not AIL it’s similar ads like them. Strictly commission based is all that’s here. I’m sticking with Indeed.
Just use indeed. Won’t even let me apply, just keeps showing the same screen while indeed works quickly
It’s hard to find a good job search engine…. Indeed is not always good as most jobs u apply to have assessments before you are even apply. This app has potential, but based on what I’m seeing a lot of job agencies on target this app, making it kind of harder to find a direct hire……
Here from David and Jason's podcast!!. Hopefully the app works
Worst app ever. Its been 3 years and i have applied countless jobs but never heard back from a single employer
Best app. This makes looking for a job a lot easier and it’s on point very easy to use and very very helpful. Best app I found. Thx
Used to be good. Main reason this app is no good anymore is they only showing jobs in US and I live in Canada. It used to be a good app. Not anymore.
Sign In Issues. I’ve tried for an hour to create an account but I still can’t! It’s saying forgot password when I don’t even have an account yet, and doesn’t send the varification email in order for you to create a account…..poor quality, don’t waste your time.
Overall spammy and useless... From the getgo, the app forces you to use an AI that will spam you with upwards of ten emails per-day for jobs that are wildly outside of both your preferences, and your location. You can unsubscribe from emails, but if you dare to open the app, the interface itself (and general user experience) is just loaded with either scam job postings, or postings that have no relevance at all to your set preferences. Not to mention how i’ve been “accidentally” re-subscribed to the AI-driven emails at least twice. Today was the last straw. I am uninstalling.
Not as Expected. This app or ZipRecruiter is not doing well as there are many companies (employers) who are potential scams or are really not interested on hiring people. Although the match is high or great, nearly as never got response and just creates expectation on mind and makes us wait for longer. Ziprecruiter has to work harder to find the genuine company (employer) who are really seeking for employees.
Job search. I must be stupid. I can’t even upload my resume.
Excellent!. Easy to get resumes to the right employers. I’ve had a few interviews. The one feature that I would like to see is a way to reiterate your interest to an employer post interview. This I believe would be helpful for both parties
Not working for me. This app is really good , but I can’t open it now as it always showing error to update , I don’t have iOS 16 or later . Please fix
Install Indeed Instead. Maybe if this app didn’t send me a notification every 30 minutes, not screen there employers, allow scammers access to vulnerable people, interface was actually user friendly, and the app actually helped people find jobs, then I might give it a few more stars until then it gets 1 star for effort!
Scammed. Lots of scammers here
Part time. Type in pt work Scarborough. Offer work Mississauga
Terrible. Won’t send my email to reset my password. Waste of time one star is enough.
Not working. Trying to create an account but the magic link expires right away and won’t let me sign in….? Please help with this and then I will change this review, thanks
Super Annoying. Even with the notifications turned off, the app sends you a million emails.
Can’t search for remote jobs in the app.. It’s 2022. Get with the program, Ziprecruiter.
Fraud. All of the jobs or should I say companies are fake. I‘ve used ZipRecruter for less than a month and almost was a victim of scam. They asked for a screenshot of my online banking and my passport. Wanted me to be a money mule and transfer other people’s money to bitcoins for them. Anyways, be careful. And stick to LinkedIn.
Speechless. As a 27 year old it shouldn’t be this hard to find a general labourer job. Every employer on this app ignores you. Just like Indeed, this app has a ridiculous amount of fake jobs and scammers. I’ve lost all faith in these apps. If I could I’d give this a -5/5.
FINALLY. I’ve been applying to various jobs since February of this year and after using this app for a few hours I was able to get set up with an interview for a position. When they say responsive employers they really are responsive.
Help me update my account please and thank you so much for your help and assistance. How come I can’t update my app
Did work, but now crashes. When I first downloaded this app, it was working without any problems. Now, and for the last week or so, every time I open this app to check the notifications, it immediately crashes and the screen goes black. Hopefully the next update for this app includes a fix for this bug.
Nice app. Easy to use just need a lil polishing on the google drive usage for iOS
Stop selling data. I used to get zero messages from job scammers. The day I created an account here, I received one of those scammy remote job message. Since then they haven’t stopped.
Rip-off Recruiter. Horrible company. Beware the free trial.
Very HELPFUL!!!. For the last year and a half I have been using them they have nonstop been helping me find jobs that I am qualified for and employers have been personally emailing me and calling me because they want me to start as soon as possible
Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!
Could be great.... ...but it’s not. Frequent notifications prompting the user to open the app, only to find nothing new or even relevant. Incessant emails suggesting jobs that “would be good for you”, except that you are in no way qualified for the jobs they recommend. It appears that this app is less worried about helping the user find an actual job than it is for tricking the user into engaging with the app for whatever reason. On the other hand, if it is your dream to drive the big rigs, this is the app for you because 99 out of every 100 jobs they recommend are for OTR drivers. No- wait, that wasn’t fair of me to say... at least 30 out of 100 jobs on here are “opportunities to work at home”, aka crap scams to waste your time. You would be better off going door to door, asking business owners if they’re hiring.
Poorly design app. I set up the app to send me alerts. I entered the position title I am looking for, no more than ten miles from my city, but of course I get alerts for jobs that 15, 20, 25, 30 or more miles away. I suppose that selecting 10 miles means nothing to the app. I also noticed that it sends me job listings that were posted days or weeks ago. There is no way of setting alerts for only recently listed openings. And by recently I mean as of today and may be yesterday or the day before. I really would not trust my resume to websites such as this one or Indeed or Monster. I once filled out an application on indeed and I now keep getting e-mails for companies offering jobs. Most sound too good to be true so I am sure they must be scams. Most for positions I have never even searched for. Most likely my employment history, qualifications, and the like are who knows where in the internet for people to see. I am a very private person and don’t even use social media sites. I don’t even use my real name in most sites. A former coworker (who told me about Zip Recruiter) did post his resume and is having similar issues with Zip Recruiter. So it seems that it’s not only an Indeed problem. I also hate how companies sell people’s information to marketing companies for a nice profit.
Searches don’t work well and recommendations are broken. You can input the type of job you want, such as “server”, and it will come up with some jobs that fit that. But when you are looking for a job in your area none ever appear. It has an option where you set the distance in which your job search will be, but it completely disregards it. I search in a single city and it gives me jobs in literally any other city. If there are not jobs in my city available, which I find impossible considering where I live, it should simply state that there are none, and suggest that perhaps I should look farther. Another issue is the job recommendation system. I have it set for little to no experience with no degree above high school diploma. So then WHY are half of my suggested jobs RN’s, surgeon, engineers and software designer?
I can see how this app would be helpful, however.... I downloaded zip recuiter a few days ago in search for a marketing job. To my surprise, this app had significantly more marketing positions that other apps. Marketing is the field I wish to work in, so I applied to many of these positions. I soon realized that these were essentially pyramid type positions, where they lure people in with ideal position titles and descriptions, but are really just sketchy sales positions. This app shouldn't allow a company to advertise a marketing assistant position when in reality it's selling cable in Sam's Club. Luckily for me I did my research on these companies before accepting interview invitations. There needs to be a way to prevent these companies from tricking people into interviewing with them. It's misleading. Y'all need to find out a way these postings can be reported or add some type of review option so people are no longer bamboozled. I think these companies choose zip recruiter for postings because there is no review aspect. I literally cannot find a legitimate marketing position because these companies are flooding the app with their nonsense. One click reply is cool, as well as being notified when employers view your application. But sheesh!
Amazing app. I have tried so many other app looking for jobs, but none can compare to this one. The response from employers are really fast. I mean i applied and the day after my emails are filled with employers asking to interview. Just do you part and build a great resume and you will see what happenda. Additionaly, zipreqruiter reps are right there helping you. Giving you ideas of what to improve, and always reminding you about jobs. It really feela that you have a team behind you back helping you to achieve your goals. These staff are not waisting anyones time. They are helping both employers and employees.
Ridiculous jobs suggested. First the positive- Zip Recruiter makes it easy to search and apply for jobs. I love that about the app. Now the negative and frustrating -Zip Recruiter has a lot of job options, but the suggested jobs are often ridiculous. My resume only lists high level accounting and banking. Yet I get job suggestions with “Great Match” for jobs such as OTR truck driving , line operator and order picker in addition to accounting. Not that there is anything wrong with these jobs, they just aren’t in my area of expertise. (I’ve never even been in the cab of an 18 wheeler!) I entered $90k as my minimum job requirement based on my level of expertise and experience, but I keep getting entry level accounting jobs at $19 and $20 an hour in my list of suggested jobs. My search is for a Controller position, and I’ve never opened a job suggestion for a tax accountant. However the subject line for most emails I receive from Zip state “More jobs like tax accountant”. (In fact, this was the email with the OTR truck driving suggestion.) The algorithms need a lot of work so people can find the jobs they are interested in and qualified for.
ZipRecruiter. This App and website is really a great oppurtunity for searching jobs and has a variety available that are offered in your search engine. This is by far one of the best search engine apps that I have found and that allows you to advance after submitting your resume as well as applying to the jobs you may be fit to be employed in the area you are most fit to be able to attend. I absolutely love using Ziprecruiter because it’s Second to none in my book and recommend anyone to check the website for your self. Thank you for this amazing opportunity and everyone have a great day.
Minor edit deletes ENTIRE profile. I just wanted to update the word document with my newest résumé, but instead it decided to wipe my entire profile clean of my work history and certifications, and to attempt to redo everything based on the new word document. But your word document scanning is not that great, so I lost a lot of data because it just can’t read my résumé the way a human could. Now I have to fill out my profile AGAIN. My advice, fix that. Uploading a resume only uploads a resume and does not DELETE data and start the profile from scratch!
Well thought out.... I just started using zip recruiter after using the older standbys (i.e., LinkedIn, indeed, etc.) without success. I think this app is more innovative in its approach and the UI is super easy to navigate. I love the feature that advises when your resume has been viewed by the recruiter and the way it makes suggestions and alerts you to new opps as they're are posted. The job recommendations seem more personalized than other sites. I think it's leaps and bounds ahead of any of the other job apps out there. I signed up less than a week ago and have a first interview already. I recommend it. And it's FREE!
Wrong job titles. I’m fresh out of college with 3 years experience under my belt and absolutely frustrated With searching on this app and their site. Not only have I not gotten one response after applying for a month, but all the jobs have the wrong titles. It’s clear these listing are never reviewed because anything labeled “editor” or “copy editor” is actually a sales associate position OR they want a contractor. Basically, nothing at all what I’m qualified for nor even close to what one looking for. I’ve even found things listed under “proofreader” and the job description talks about improving turn-around times for the routing of materials in a fulfillment warehouse. Indeed and other job sites don’t have this issue, and you wouldn’t either if ziprecruiter’s team reviewed the job listings. I will be deleting this app and my account once everything I’ve applied for has been looked at
A few things would make this perfect. Make your app compatible with Apple accessibility. I can’t read the listings on the app because the font is so small! I need it to be bigger. You could do like the Reddit app and have adjustable text size or something. I need your font to be about twice as big to be readable. A way to filter out keywords we don’t want would be great. I’m looking for a CSR position but results are about 90% insurance sales, 5% regular sales, 3% trucking jobs, and 2% what I’m looking for. Pretty annoying. I want a remote job, but using ‘remote’ as a keyword doesn’t get me remote jobs. In these times you should have a way to definitively mark remote opportunities.
Slightly disappointed. I’m actually slightly disappointed with zip recruiter, even though it gives you a lot of jobs and shows you what level of qualifications you match. But for a job that you are rated as a fair match or a good match and then you try to open the job only to be shown Error, there was an error loading this page. I think this should be fixed or if I job cannot be opened to begin the application process weather on mobile app or zip recruiter or employers website, there is no point of shown such a job been available and matching my qualifications. Please fix this error and I can give it a 5 star. This is my only concern so far
Vague and Not User-Friendly or Helpful. When you're desperately looking for a new job in the saturated unemployed masses, you need as much help as you can get to point you to your next objective. Not only was the ZipRecruiter site/app annoying to figure out and use, it seems to mostly be hosting companies that are not actually offering work. Pyramid scam companies that go by multiple names, not even bothering to remove the template prompt of "Company Description Here" from their alleged opening descriptions. The number of shady companies is only part of the problem. The system doesn't seem to play by it's own programming when finding matches for your skills. If I don't have a license to sell insurance, why say I'm a Good Match? If I have none of the qualifications and my match is a Poor Match, why show them at all?
Horrible filtering/Search/Algorithm. I tried filtering my search by “Inspired by your applies” and it was full of mechanic and dies mechanic jobs. I have never once applied for anything like that. All of the jobs I have applied for are Customer Service Rep. or office type of jobs. I tried filtering by Remote Jobs and one I saw was for a Cardiologist Physician. I am not sure how that could be done remotely. I decided to look at the details just for fun and it obviously is not remote. I filtered by a certain distance within my home and it gave me jobs across the country that were in office positions. I even tried “No experience” filter. One of the job titles was “Experienced CDL driver” and other specifically mentioned you needed anywhere from 3-7 years experience, depending on the job I looked at. The filters are pointless.
Best job searching app. ZipRecruiter has been by far the best job searching app I’ve ever used, it’s still way better than Monster and Indeed! What I like about this app is that it gives you option to ‘Mobile Apply’ straight through your phone, as well as ‘Desktop Apply’. The BESTEST part about this app though, is that for every job I’ve applied for, I have ALWAYS gotten in contact with a recruiter or the actual managers of the company within 1-3 days of applying for the job! I highly recommend this app for people who struggle with simply landing a job interview, or a even just a phone call with a recruiter! HAPPY JOB HUNTING!!!!!! :D
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. I don’t like to write reviews normally but this app deserves all the credit it gets, I have found every single job other than my first one up to this point because of this app, they make it possible for managers to like your profile and reach out to you, it has one tap apply so I haven’t had to fill my info over and over, and it makes applying to all the jobs you want seamless. The best part is there is none of that stuff done apps do where they have some free features, and some paid, it’s all free, I highly recommend this app
Incredibly useful, missing some desktop features. This app has been incredible, and I’ve been able to consolidate my job application materials with ease. I’d give it a 4.5, because taking a whole star off doesn’t feel right. But I want the team to know it’s incredible, it would just be helpful if there was a notifications icon, with notifications showing the time I received them. Maybe I missed it, but I’d also like to see how much of a match I am for a job on mobile. Thank you for what you’re doing, zip recruiter team. At long last, I’m confident that I’m going to find my dream job through your services in no time. I hope you all find this helpful!
All good and easy to do. I love that when I need something to learn about a job that I applied or interested in I can do it in the moment. The information is always available and accessed on the app to learn about the job offer opportunity. I also love the email notifications that help me to learn about new opportunities that arrive whenever there is an opportunity based on the preferences I set for the job titles and roles. I trust that I can change them and that I can do it by location and career choice. And when I am not sure I can quickly and easily do it again from my iPhone XR. I trust this app
Very please and what a surprise. Well I came across the app by accident and to be honest I was kind of skeptical at first but also I was bored so I started filling up all my resume slots, the app made me some questions and within the next 5 minutes I had in front of me a bunch of matches with my resume and the way to apply was so easy that literally I didn’t notice I applied to over 50 positions. This morning I got up to check my phone and email and I had two interviews already scheduled... FOR TODAY and also one for tomorrow, I’ve received emails telling me how great of a resume I have lol, let me tell you that is the first time I really make one. And let me tell you that it was all thanks to this app. Now let’s talk about the application structures? Ok, it’s very simple. All you have to do is read the navigation tips and that’s it. Start applying and go get that dreamed job. I loved it in here. All the positions I’m currently aimed for are managing positions and I didn’t even know I could do that. Thanks once again to the app for showing me the best of my potential.
Ok, but missing features for real job hunters. I don't think this app was developed with users in mind. It appears to have been developed with business stakeholders interests as a to priority. A couple items that are frustrating 1) There is no consistency in where you can dismiss jobs the app presents. Example: text notification links takes the user to the app for positions they may be a good candidate for. I keep getting the same text for the same jobs and cannot dismiss an individual job posting from the landing page view of those positions. 2) I keep getting job notifications for jobs outside my search range. A city like Houston is huge. Users don't want to waste their time looking at jobs that are 50 miles away, especially when they set a shorter range. If the developer thinks they are being helpful by showing those jobs, they could allow users to set an option about how important that attribute is, allowing it to be weighted. 3) All job notifications should include when the job was posted. Not including this info is a waste of user's time. This behavior send users to other apps that do include the post date.
50 apps a day?. When I graduated college with my degree I read an article saying, “recently graduated student who didn’t apply upwards of 50 apps a day where less likely to get a job then those who did!” Who has time for that!? I have a new born baby at home and honestly I don’t understand how people get that many apps done in one day with as many questions as their are! Luckily this app showed up! From autofilling my application based on my profile and resume to constantly updating me on new opportunities in the area. I’m so thankful that it has made it such an easy process! 50 apps a day isn’t so hard to obtain now, thanks guys!
Job Seeker. The Zipcruiter has changed in a lot of ways. They now have a variety of different types of entry level jobs, without installing the app, just yet. Some or most have employers that are willing to train. It’s good just to apply for the ones that meet the potential employee’s experience. I also like jobs that have paid training to own your own business that will have an outcome payout for both business seekers and staff recruits. For now, the desire to make easy money to clock in and clock out is beneficial for the meantime in a slow but, demanding economy that meets the “ customer is always right” expectation .
Had a phone interview within 4 hours of downloading the app!. Holy moly this app is so cool. I've rarely ever been compelled to write a full review for an app. Within four hours of downloading this app I got a phone interview from the plumbing company that I applied to. The fact that you can one tap apply to jobs is by itself worth five stars. The app filters through the gamut of job descriptions and openings, And matches your resumes compatibility with the job and makes it super easy to get a new job recommendations. They also have a texting feature where they send you new jobs and you can one click apply before anyone else. Five stars all the way baby.
Resume viewed and contacted more than by any other job board. Even though my experience applying for jobs through the job boards was long, tedious, harrowing, and unfruitful, I received more responses from employers and recruiters than were generated by any other job board. Two recruiting companies really made an effort for me. I also got a few job interviews through employers and recruiters. I had been applying for months with no responses, until I accidentally ended up on ZipRecruiter. Even though I finally landed a job because of someone I knew (of course), it was at least looking promising with Zip Recruiter and one other job board that I would rank second (who I won’t name on ZipRecruiter’s review).
Actual instant results. I stumbled across the website late one night while working on applications. I just moved across the country and had little connections to people so finding work was difficult, and applications were annoying because they would ask the same questions over and over. Zip Recruiter takes your resume and saves any questions you answer and adds it to your profile. You just click apply and everything you need to apply is sent instantly. When I woke up the next morning I had three interview requests and many more came in throughout the day.
What happened to my account?. Some weeks ago I wrote a review of ZR, stating that many of most of the recommended positions did not match my skills and abilities. Even so, I continued to use it as one of the apps for my job search. Yesterday when I went to open the app I had to been logged out. When I tried to log back in it did not recognize my password, although I have not changed it. Fine - occasionally apps or sites do that when it's time to change your password, so I requested a reset link be sent to my email. Waited a while. Went about my day. It's now the next day. Never got one. I thought maybe I needed to update the app - did that and tried again. Same thing. As luck would have it I did apply to a position using ZR. Don't know what might come of it now.
Got a job in 5 days?!!. I submitted some applications 5 days ago in the middle of the night at 2am. That same morning at about 9 or so, I started getting emails and calls for interviews. 7 interviews and 5 days later I have a job. Every position I applied for called me for an interview. Idk if it’s the app entirely or if I was just such a strong candidate for the companies that I applied for but ZipRecruiter made it so EASY! I got 3 different job offers after interviews and was able to chose the best one for me. I JUST downloaded this app and it is with great pleasure that I can delete it since I am now employed! I’m so grateful to ZR.
Results based!. ZipRecruiter helped me to obtain a full time position after being in the part time career field for over 4 years much faster than indeed or careerbuilder. ZipRecruiter’s 1 click apply seemed to result in contact and offers of in-person interviews at a higher rate than indeed or careerbuilder - the app is also much more user friendly and easy to navigate - it is much more intuitive than indeed or careerbuilder. I had great success with job opportunities and obtaining interviews within just one week. Although it did still take several weeks before I was offered a position, it was through ZipRecruiter. I am very satisfied with this job-seeking website and mobile app.
Amazing App. I truly to do love this app I am a student and a teacher and I have referred at least 5 other people to use this app Amdahl are are currently employed with careers they found through this app. You get matched with jobs and notifications when employers pull your app you get helpful tips alerted to you and more there is just so many different career fields on here that you’re able to apply for. it truly is an amazing app that links you with amazing opportunities I was not paid to write this review I’m not fake person or a computer I’m a real person and I promise you this actually is an amazing job finder
I got a job in 3 weeks!!!. Zip recruiter worked great for me! I simply uploaded my resume and easy applied to 10 or 15 jobs and the very NEXT day I was flooded with phone calls and emails from companies asking me to interview. I was very skeptical because I put little effort into the process since it was easy apply. Fast forward 3 weeks later and I’ve landed a position that exceeded my expectations in terms of benefits, compensation and company culture! Another nice thing is that you are notified when a company views your application and contact information. I loved zip recruiter because it was so easy to use and I only had to use it for such a short time!
I agree w Alexander in the middle -. I have received several job offers from my 1 tap applies, then realize most were not in the areas I chose, as most only list the larger city we live in, and are too far away or not what I was looking for. There should be more personalized options. I’ve updated my search areas several times and continue to receive and view many that are again, not what I requested - I am happy to have an app that is so helpful, yet wish it was one that allowed more options. Thank you for a great job search app - I do look forward to seeing updates on these issues soon. It will make my job hunt much less stressful.
Don’t like the functionality. This is my first time using ZipRecruiter and I’ve come to realize that I can’t edit information in an application. If you use the back button, it logs you out of the application, but it picks up where you left off and does not allow you to make changes. At the end of the application process, it doesn’t ask you to review the information to make sure that everything is accurate or to add any additional information. Also, not helpful if you make a mistake along the way and don’t realize it until after it’s done. I don't think that I’m going to use this app again. I downloaded it to my phone for the sole purpose of keeping track of the application that I filled out. But once I’ve either been excepted for the job or not excepted, I will be deleting the app.
Needs serious help. It took me 5 minutes to even log in to the app because it kept having me click a link instead of using my password and the link only took me to the website. Not the app. When I finally got on to the app, it told me I was a “great match” for jobs that wanted years of experience I didn’t have. Apparently I’m a “great match” to tutor kids with ADHD. I’m a scientist. Not a teacher. Update: I don’t need help being shown how to search and filter jobs. The patronizing is also not appreciated. I don’t have this issue on indeed, LinkedIn or Glassdoor. It is specifically YOUR app. And, judging by the other reviews, I’m not the only one with this issue. Of all the jobs your app has shown me, MAYBE 5% have actually been relevant to my skills and experience.
Highly Irrelevant Job Recommendations. I have to sift through 25+ jobs before seeing ONE that actually applies to me and what I’m looking for. I have heard multiple friends having the same issue- We clearly put our job preferences/pay (for example- entry level analyst) and the jobs we get on our feed are like ICU nurse, Associate Attorney, Executive Director, like what is going ON. I scroll through and select “dismiss” on jobs that are not applicable, I carefully put in exactly what I am looking for, and I am still just getting RN and attorney jobs. If I put entry level jobs with a bachelor’s degree, I MEAN entry level. Not anything with “executive” or “director” in the job title. It should be able to use our preferences and key words from our resumes and suggest ACTUAL entry level jobs. I loooove the quick apply, everything else is great, but the results are bad.
Missing features. After signing up for zip recruiter “ZR” and applying to jobs, I have to admit this app makes it a lot easier than others I’ve been using. However, I get too many duplicate emails that make me confused on what jobs I actually applied to versus the suggested jobs. In the “applied jobs” tab it shows that I applied to more jobs than I actually did (big flaw.) Only once (because of my inexperience using the app) I accidentally applied to about 3 jobs with one click. I didn’t want to apply to those but I take full responsibility for that mistake. Because of that, I really wish there was a “withdrawal application” button to clear up the applied jobs tab. Also, as many other have mentioned, I receive many suggestions for jobs that I’m either over qualified or way too under qualified or plainly not interested in. And for some reason I started getting other companies job sites updates on new jobs , which I never sign up for. That makes me believe that zip recruiter sold my email address without my consent. NOT COOL!
Works Fast, watch out for MLM companies. It is a really easy platform to use. You complete one general application with all of your experience and you can use the one click application feature. Within two days, you’ll receive emails or calls from employers asking to interview you. You can customize your preferences on the desktop version, but you can also use the mobile version. There are a lot of multi level marketing companies on here under commission pay with dishonest job specifications, so watch out. Other than that, I love using this to help me search for employment.
Zip-Recruiter, is a blessing!!. Thank you, ZIP-Recruiter! Being an unemployed 54 yr old female, after working for a company for over 9 yrs, your site has made it comfortable and very easy to seek new employment, and getting over the feeling of being “depressed in middle aged crisis”. With the ‘1-tap’ application, I’m feeling confident and positive that I will be placed in a field with the right employer. The multiple job openings lists is always updated where one can pick and apply when one feels a possible match could be waiting. Sharing your site with others, will never be a difficult conversation. Keep it up for I am one that is truly appreciative. Much mahalo and aloha.
Intuitive and interactive. This app brings any user everything they could possibly wish for in a career building app. It’s got an intuitive UI and an interactive system that matches you with jobs for your personal experience and education level, and lets you know when your application has been viewed, when jobs open and close, and even when to expect contact from a company. I’d been out of work for 4 months before installing this and now I’ve been using the app for 2 weeks and have 3 interviews lined up. Excellent. Couldn’t ask for more. They make applying easy with a brilliant resume builder and best of all, it’s FREE.
Best Yet!!. I loathe writing reviews or when the developer ask you to do so but I really don’t mind when it comes to Zip-recruiter. By far the most user friendly and well thought out format for those seeking employment. Wide variety of suggestions if you aren’t quite sure how to search or word what you’re looking for and the live updates is a great feature to have so you aren’t hanging out to dry for 2 weeks because someone forgot to call you about your app before leaving for vacation. Ps. ZIP-Recruiter, I wouldn’t hate it if given the opportunity to submit my resume to be placed with you. :) Will travel and relocate Brandon
Zero to sixty. Hey-I enjoyed your review. It was like reading my own thoughts, words, feelings everything I’ve experienced too. I haven’t had interviews yet, then again, for the first time in over 3. Yes THREE years, I was sent a job opening that suits me perfectly. I’ve opted out of 2 sites that kept sending me jobs that days not match my experience or anything close to it. Drive for UBER, or LYFT, or here!! Go to CDL!! Ugh! Nothing wrong with it, but I don’t want to spend my time driving in Baton Rouge!!! I’m 54, re-entering the work field as well. You encouraged me I’m happy for you and happy to know I’m not the only person who feels this way! God Bless!
Effective Tool. I’ve used many job search engines and I’ve been pleased with this. Bunch of jobs, diverse, easy to use. The job listings are clear and informative. The 1-click apply is so simple it’s easy to apply to many positions in a short amount of time. Lastly, they have a service which will email status updates on jobs applied for, views of your profile, and even suggestions for new opportunities highlighting those that are most compatible. Con: The initial set-up takes a while if you want to be thorough and complete. Then again, you usually get out what you put in.
Totally bonkers algorithm. This app is all over the place. It does have a good variety of jobs in a wide range of skills and pay ranges. As long as you’re just using the search function with your own filters, it’s good. But the algorithms for recommended jobs are bananas. If you have one word in your job history, any job with that word will be recommended as a great match. I applied to a job loosely related to the medically field and I was recommended jobs being a dentist. It’s bananas. Also it’s super annoying that if you are unsubscribed from the daily recommended jobs, and you apply to one job, it automatically re-subscribes you to recommended job emails based on whatever you applied to.
Please add status feature for employers. Zip Recruiter app does a lot of things right. But what it lacks is an option or maybe a requirement for employers to provide status after each application is viewed. For example “not interested”.... “still interviewing others”.... “decision delayed”.... and more so that candidates know they have been eliminated (or not yet) after their applications have been viewed. Now the only notification candidates see is if applications are viewed, and if it happens again. Later candidates only see “position closed”. How about “position filled” or “position deferred” or “position no longer needed”. What do you think, developers? Can’t be too difficult to create these and similar clickable status features for employers?
Easy to apply, but it's AI is awful. The app tries to learn the kind of jobs you'll want to apply for either from your resume or what you click on. It seems like it also just throws a lot in to pad the numbers. The real problem with this is when you click an offer mistakenly or just out of curiosity and end up with a two week stretch of offers to apply to jobs you have zero experience or qualifications for. I've had multiple week stretches where I've gotten nothing but accounting offers, then it went to jobs working in gas stations, then healthcare - specifically as a doctor. And sending an email to support was a waste - I tried three times and consistently got automated responses that had nothing to do with my complaints. Seems like a great idea, but needs a LOT of work.
App is great, could use some filtering.. The app operates very smoothly, my comment is on the service itself. It will be very useful to have some kind of reporting feature to weed out pier mid scheme's or get rich quick scheme's. i've had three interviews in the past week with companies that put together very professional looking advertisements, but upon research we're little more than shell companies interested in garnering door to door salesman dressed up in the title of regional managers. Some sort of feedback to be able to flag certain companies would be very useful. Glass door comes to mind in terms of what I had in mind. If it's as easy as it seems for employers to sign up with zip recruiter, there are bound to be a number of companies that Mislead users.
Changed my mind. I am wondering with all the trouble this app/site has , if many of these positive reviews are written by the ziprecruiter staff? 1. After reviewing, then saving, and reviewing again ... days later my zip resume is scrambled and info. also omitted. Who knows how many employers saw the scrambled zip resume? I'm certain this has sabotaged my chances with many companies looking at my zip resume. 2. The app sends me jobs from everywhere except my own city I'm looking in and that I have set up on my profile. 3. It has become a flea market of multilevel marketing AKA pyramid scheme type jobs ( you can't rationalize it, MLM is the exact same as pyramid). 4. It is also full of too many other job recruiting sites. If I want to apply to a company through zip recruiter I don't want to jump through hoops with other recruiting companies. You'll know what I mean when you wind up looking at a monster or career builder site.
Good... could be better. Good app I think, considering the employers who are willing to utilize it. It needs more employment varieties available within each field. Maybe even a way to use multiple key term searches to narrow down/hone in on more specific employment positions. Ultimately, for a free app, it’s good. It could be more targeted with search results (i.e. “exclude jobs in [insert location]...” Or “only show job results paying [insert minimum salary]...”). At the end of the day, though, the app is only ever going to be as good as the employers who consent to posting their position openings with it. And that needs work. A lot of direct marketing positions in my field, not a lot of stable work unless you have a lot of experience.
The App is okay. I’ve been using indeed for a while and still haven’t gotten a job interview. Then they constantly send you emails from bots with a summary of the jobs you applied for. The summary states the date you applied and how many applicants they have. All the jobs I applied for had THOUSANDS of applicants! How is that anywhere near fair? They should have a cut off period so the employer can actually sift through the resumes but no. The app keeps allowing you to waste your time. And not all the job choices are good. Some seem skeptical. I think this app is a total waste of time. There are also staffing companies posting job interviews on here. I don’t want to go through that! Ugh, I’m so tired of this app.
Real jobs. I have filled out 100’s of applications on indeed, I have never got not one single interview or any type of call. I have had 3 great jobs threw zip with one paying more than the last one did, indeed is full of those ghost jobs my cousin recently went viral for getting fired from indeed for not posting the ghost jobs, he said morally he just couldn’t do it they told him they just couldn’t employ him then, I want to really thank you for helping me feed my family like a man is supposed to do. And helping me delete my indeed profile for fake jobs keep up the good work truly employing people across America
