Near while it worked. Broken now.. We used this to call the kids to meals and such. Neat when it worked. Doesn’t even find my system now. Tried auto find and tried manually entering the IP address of one of the speakers. Doesn’t work any longer.

Works well with manual setup. This works as expected and allows me to call family to meals without shouting around the house. Other reviews said the auto detect was broken so I went straight to the manual setup option and entered my Sonos’s IP address. Smooth sailing after that.

Doesn’t work. Doesn’t recognize Sonos. Not working. Waste of money.

Great app!! And one suggestion. Really great app. Worked just as well as I hoped it would. Makes using my Sonos a lot more fun! One feature request — an “always on” mode. So I can leave it on and talk to people with the app open. It would make it easier so I don’t have to press and hold every time. Thanks! Really good app. 🙂

Save my voice. No longer need to shout through the house to call the kids to dinner. Intercom, you are a voice saver!!! I love this App!!

No lock feature. Seems to be no way to lock it on ‘on’ position. Wanted to continuously stream sound to my Sonos system from my TV but can’t as you have to have your finger on the button for it to work.

Long delay and picks up background noise. If you are far from the speakers and don’t care about delay, then this works. If you are trying to use this as a microphone, don’t bother: the delay even at the lowest buffer setting makes this a useless microphone. Also if you are anywhere near the speaker you will hear an echo. I didn’t try to use a mic to cancel background.

Not working. Can’t find my sonos. I’m running the latest version.

Worth the $2 to freak out my kids. Yelling in the house just went down 50%

Not working. At first it would not even see our Sonos. Then it sees the speaker, I can play music from my iPhone on the Sonos, but the Intercom app sends nothing to the Sonos. I wrote to their Help line with no response. Latest try is to delete it and try to reload. I hope others have a better experience.

Only One Room. On my system, the app does not allow to change the room, so not very useful. The screen is totally unresponsive, when wanting to switch room. When hitting settings, I can't go back to the previous screen either. Running iOS 10.3.3

Promising but needs some polish. When I press the “Hold to Talk” button there is a delay before I hear the sound from the speakers. That’s fine. But as soon as I *let go* of that button, the speakers cut off. In other words, I hold down the button, say my phrase, and let go of the button. Meanwhile, the speakers (with a second or two delay) play my message but STOP as soon as I let go of the button, and before they’re done playing my message. There’s an option to turn off “Real Time Audio” which fixes this, but then it plays my message twice for some reason.

No longer working. Recently updated my Sonos to latest firmware and now the app no longer works. A bit disappointing I only used this occasionally, but found it to be useful when it worked.

Absolutely fantastic app. I Fun to Demmerle as well.. Let me start by saying the app developer is on top of problems or challenges that arise. An update to Sonos messed up the app. The developer was honest and forthcoming about fixing it as fast as possible. A few days later the new revision was out and it works perfect again. The only thing I can recommend is to turn off “Real Time Audio” in the settings. It causes the echo that some people complain about. It happens because it starts playing the page before you finish saying something and you get an echo. Uncheck that box in the settings and the problem goes away. Just remember to hold down the button until you’re done talking. I don’t usually write extended reviews but this app does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Well worth the money.

Hate it. Old app worked great. I hate this one. I use the intercom at the office but, with this app, the volume on the intercom is NOT independent from the music. So, I have to crank the music up way too loud, use the intercom, then turn music back down. On top of that, sometimes it won’t resume whatever was playing before announcement

Didn’t Work. Didn’t work on my Sonos system. Connected to it, recognized the groups, but when I pushed to talk, no sound came out. Further, I had to power cycle my four of my speakers and Apple TV has for whatever reason that group stopped playing sound from the TV until a reboot.

Worked well until it didn’t. Worked fine until a day or so ago it just stopped working. Won’t connect to the sonos system even though they both are in the same network. So it’s a great app if it worked.

No longer works. This use to work and was amazingly helpful but it no longer works. Stopped working months ago. Please fix.

Doesn’t Work. After Sonos’ latest update this no longer works.

Rarely works. This is such a great idea but every time I use it , it doesn’t just interrupt my whole house music, it terminates it! I have to go and restart the music after force quitting the app.

Works on fresh install, but can’t find Sonos after quitting. When I download the app from the App Store it finds the Sonos system right away. However, if I quit the app and come back, it never seems to be able to find the Sonos system again. Really is a must fix.

Worked perfectly!. I just downloaded this app and with seconds I was able to scare the snot out of my son’s friends by “haunting” the Play 1 in our living room. The app auto-detected our Sonos setup and all four speakers allowing me to easily select the right one. I’ll be using this app to page the family when needed. Well worth $1.99.

Works Instantly. Works super easy & right away!!! So grateful for this app! Wonderful to be able to send announcements to kids in different rooms or the back yard over the Sonos speakers. They can talk back using the app.

Why is this still here?. I guess it is no longer supported. Hasn’t been able to find my sonos for close to a year. It doesn’t work anymore. Unfortunate. I liked it when it worked.

Constantly fails to find my system. Most of the time when you fire up the app, it just tells you that it can’t find your SONOS system. Then randomly after a while, it finds it. But by then you’ve already passed the moment, and don’t need the app. Will ask for a refund.

Works Perfectly. I do not understand why so many other people are rating it poorly, for it works wonderfully. It may cause an echo to be in the same room as the speaker, but if you are in a state of general boredom, it is quite enjoyable to listen to the echo.

Can’t broadcast during Sonos playback. Cannot broadcast during Sonos playback. Primary purpose of Sonos is to play music. Super inconvenient to not be able to make an announcement during the music and then return to the music automatically

Works as expected!. It took a few tries for the app to recognize my Sonos network, but it eventually found it. The sound quality is good. Now I can boss the kids around upstairs and down without yelling.

I’m in shock!!. It really works, it automatically connects to Sonos. There is a bit of a lag but it’s worth it.

Was great while it worked. Used to work great, but quit working about a year ago. Hopefully they will fix, but after this long I’m not hopeful. It did not auto discover my sonos system. I had to manually enter the up of one of my devices for it to discover.

Really great!. This app is really great. My mom can wake me and my brother up in the morning now by talking into this app. Also we can scare each other now. 😋

Desire a refund. Doesn't work all. It recognized my speakers, but it doesn't pass through any sound from phone to speakers, the speakers just go silent while intercom button is pressed, then when music resumes, it doesn't resume the interrupted track, it plays the next in queue.

Won’t find my Sonos system. It has never been able to find my system when running on either my iPhone or iPad.

Stopped working April 3 but fixed. Works great for all Sonos zones, attentive developer.

Music doesn’t resume. Broadcasts inconsistently, sometimes in realtime, sometimes delayed or choppy. Also music does not resume after broadcasting. Great concept but app needs fixing.

Everyone can hear you!. There’s nothing better out there. My sister spent money on an intercom system. I just use my Sonos as an intercom right from my phone. Now everyone can hear me. Best thing ever.

Super Annoying. I just got the app today. I chose the this one although there was another that was free-probably should have just used that one. It will not connect to my system. Everything is up to date we use the Sonos speakers daily, but this app doesn’t not stay connected. It takes like 30 tries and will finally connect, but then I left my house and when I returned it was disconnected again and won’t seem to re-connect. My son is having the same issue with his iPad. So annoying and a waste of time.

Breakfast Please!. Consider the scenario....You've just woken up. You can't get out of bed. You NEED a cup of tea. The kids are screaming so nobody can hear your screams. Your partners phone is on silent. In comes this beautiful piece of technology. Sonos Voice allows me to hack into the Sonos player downstairs and order my tea like some sort of maniacal deity from above. Thank you, thank you, thank you from a post op back surgery patient.

Fantastic! Works great. My sonos system is now complete with this app! My dream sound system has come true with this app. However, I'd like to point out the minor crashes and voice clarity issues (echoes / voice delay) when you increase the volume, however it does exactly what I won't it to do!

Lag, echo, unreliable. This app does not work on my system. I have a Playbar, Connect and three Sonos 1s. It does not always transmit my voice, there is a lag before my voice gets through and it echoes 5 to 6 times. Suitable only for jokes and pranks in my opinion. Poor quality and delayed. I paid for this app thinking I would be able to connect to my Sonos system externally to my network for intercom but you can’t. Within the home the quality is poor, you can’t understand what is being said on any of my Sonos devices.

Sonos voice app. I should of read the other review. It is a complete rip off as it does not work at all. Do not buy it!!

Disappointed. Really. Why bother charging for a product that only delivers disappointment. Oh also delay of 1 second,echos and inconsistent connection. As much as You may like the concept of a mic for your Sonos system, this is not it! I also would like my money back and you should not be allowed to use the name Sonos in your marketing.

This app is a joke. It literally does not work, it doesn't detect the speakers I have set up AT ALL - I know that the app costs like $1.50 but the point of the matter is I actually PAID money for a service I thought was going to be so worthwhile and was greatly disappointed. Don't waste your time.

Oh yes. My life is complete. Now I can send creepy messages to my kids at four in the morning and scare the bejeezus out of them. And interrupt their arguments to get them to do their chores. It has a slight delay but I don’t care about that. Needs a voice changer built in so I can sound like sauron or some monster from the deep. Nice work :)

The Best Intercom App. I was one of the original testers of this app and after a lot of testing the app sort of worked, however sadly it was far from perfect, and it could have been due to my poor 6 meggabits/second connection speed. I now have Fibre internet to the house, with 50 mbs speed and the app works perfectly and well worth 5 stars.

Exactly what I needed. I downloaded this and it worked right away. I have to play with it a bit more, but so far so good. Would be nice to be able to turn on the mic without having to keep the button pressed.

Worked Great and Quickly. Thanks for building this app. For me the app was up and running and working faster then it took to download. No joke. I launched and it auto-detected my Sonos and immediately started working as an intercom. Is there a slight delay? Yes. Is that an issue? Only if you are trying to speak to yourself! My purpose is to make family announcements (time for dinner, everyone in the car, clean your room, time to wake up, and occasional goofiness) I would really really love an Apple Watch version. I have 5 separate Sonos speakers in 3 rooms. And it worked in all of them. A Sonos Playbar, two Play:3 and one Play:5 first generation. I suspect the only way this app could get zero latency is if SONOS integrates it into their app. Which they haven't and they should. Well done.

Adds a great function to a Sonos System. Being able to speak through my Sonos system is great. A couple bugs and the app crashes a bit but for the most part works awesome and now I can use my Sonos system as an in house intercom system. A huge value for the 99 cents!

Really bad buy!!!. Should have listened to the one reviewer saying it wasn't working at all. I have the latest iOS, rooms with each a Sonos and this app works when it wants, it dosent playback the music as intended. Basically a really bad "investment" in my part. NO STARS, and want my money back!

You get what you pay for...if your lucky. I have a lot of Sonos in my home and as a professional installer of A/V, security and automation systems I have installed 100’s of small to huge integrated Sonos systems. I love the product. The problem I have with this app is although you can select which room(s) you wish to talk to, the App changes your Sonos settings to incorporate its needs. If the person you called then wants to talk back he or she would quite possibly have to go into the intercom setting and insure that the desired Sonos speakers are still active. This also applies to the volume. The App volume overrides the Sonos settings and stays there even after you’re finished with the intercom. No a big deal. Just a pain. My 1 major point of contention is the App’s lack of stability. The Sonos program does not always start up again and often your call via the App is choppy or broken. You really cannot use this App without also having to toggle between it and Sonos frequently. Annoying but at least it gives you something to do with all your old phones.

Don't waste your money. I haven't got it to work as an intercom yet. When it goes back to play your music, it doesn't play what you were listening to, it starts playing from your playlist not your streaming music.

Perfect. Worked exactly as described. Found Sonos system, transmits voice quickly, and resumes playback as expected. Only nice to have would be a voice volume different from the music volume.

Great app companion to Sonos system. It's a shame that some consumers have little to no patience with the Indie programmer community. This is a solid, yet simple app. It does everything promised. Yes, there's a slight delay, but that's not the programmer's fault. It offers a nice enhancement to Sonos' functionality. Nicely done!

Wow! So useful!. Sonos fans have been wanting this for so long! The app works great. It needs some fine tuning but what an awesome start!

Works OK. I didnt expect much based on the reviews but it worked fine for me. It scares my kids when they are in my office...love it. Same lag you get with airport express via line in. Guys you get feedback...dont use this when you are adjacent or near the sonos speakers. You would get the same feedback with most mics near the speaker. Its really 3.5 stars because it could be better but rounded up.

simple, effective, good price point. great little app, the additional ability of being able to set speakers by static IP if desired is nice. The record and then playback is perfect and completely eliminates any feedback as well as allows you to hear your own announcment. keep up the good work!

Wont connect to Sonos most of the time. It simply won’t connect most of the time

Doesn't work. I'm using the Sonos 6.0 software and this app does not work properly. It detects the speakers and allies you to choose one or more, but when you tap start to begin broadcasting, the sound that is broadcast is copy and only catches occasional syllables off what is being spoken. Additionally, the room/zone selection screen shots every speaker including one that are part of stereo pairs or surround setups. This is quite annoying and confusing. The volume control affects all zones, not just the selected ones.

AWESOME! Buy it NOW!. Quite possibly the best $.99 you can spend. If you own Sonos products, you should own this. Disregard the negative reviews, it works, INSTANTLY! There's nothing to set up! Just open the app and start talking, when you're done, the music comes back on! That simple. Totally discovered this by accident, very glad I did!

Great intercom for kids. I have a full Sonos system, including Play 1s in each of my kids' bedrooms. This makes an amazing intercom system. I don't have to yell at my kids from various floors of my house, I just use the intercom. Two things to note - first, I have to remember to wait until the orange bar circles the pause sign before I start speaking or it'll cut off the first part of whatever I'm saying. And second, I cannot hear what I'm saying, so I have to group one of my speakers close to me so I know it has transmitted. Easily the best $1.99 I've spent!!! My husband bought it too. If you have Sonos throughout the house, this is a great "intercom" system.

It does work!. Downloaded the app this morning and sure enough it seamed DOA. Took a shot at emailing the developer Drew and within an hour he replied with some suggestions to get it working. Best customer service ever! If you are having problems try reseting your phones network settings. You can also try turning off the microphone permission for the app, reboot your phone and then turn on the permission. Worked for me and I'm an idiot.

Not Perfect, But Good. The latest update works pretty well. I did have to turn off auto discovery and manually enter the IP address for my zone bridge, but after doing that it found all my sonos rooms and it worked. It can take a little while to connect, but once it does the audio delay seems to be pretty small. Definitely worth $0.99 if you need to page somebody on the other side of the house regularly.

Bad. Doesn’t work

Worked okay before ios8. I used this as a sort of one-way intercom. It worked, although sometimes it crashed. Ever since I updated to ios8, it doesn't work in the least. Looking forward to this app getting updated so we can have our "intercom" back :)

Looks Promising - Update Needed to Fix Bugs. Been wanting this functionality for a while and this app does the trick until Sonos provides the capability natively. Bugs that need to be fixed: -If a zone is muted, Sonos Voice cannot unmute it. I have to use the Sonos app to unmute and then go back to Sonos Voice -Zones with special characters (specifically &) do not appear to be supported -If a fixed volume zone is joined with a non-fixed volume zone, the volume is set to 100% (Make sure you don't do this! Could damage your speakers) Feature Requests: -"Select All" and "Select None" options on the Speakers screen -Individual Volume control when more than one zone is selected

Simple and effective.. I was shocked how simple this was to use! It's as easy as download app, open app, use app. AND IT WORKS! Incredible concept. Also fun for first time users to scare the hell out of the wife in the middle of the night. Thank you!

Great Start - Well Worth the Purchase!. The PA functionality is something I've wanted to be able to use on my Sonos since the first iOS app came out, and this is not only the first solution I've found, but it works great! A little bit buggy which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, but still a great app and well worth the $0.99!!!

Simple way to intercom via Sonos. Great way to take existing Sonos infrastructure and add basic push to talk for very cheap. Yes there are enhancements that could be added but for something I would like to see Sonos themselves add this works fine.

Great idea, but not fully functional. Love the capability of being able to use my iPhone as a mic for my Sonos system, but the sound cuts out after a few seconds or as soon as phone auto locks. Also, the echo / feedback is pretty bad, which is think the software could help to filter out.

Great update!. Over Christmas I just installed new Sonos speakers in both of my kids rooms. Today I looked to see if there was an update for Sonos Voice and was pleasantly surprised. This update is great! I love the push-to-talk function. I wish Sonos would incorporate this into their app, but this is the next best thing. Thanks!

Great Start. App does crash and often has an echo, but it does work. It would be nice if you could record the message and then broadcast when ready. I really want to use this feature in our business to page customers.

Works but.... I launched the app and it seemed to be searching my network for sonos devices. I waited about 5 minutes. Decided to find out IP address of Sonos speaker and entered it manually. Works! I found the IP by opening my sonos desktop manager on my Mac and selected "About my Sonos" entered IP and worked perfectly.

Amazing. Sonos people, you don't need this, you want this. Endless fun pushing voices all over the house. A little buggy but works 90% of the time. Needs work on room with multiple speakers such as my TV room in which there is a PlayBar, a sub, and two Play3's, almost never works. But for standard zones this app rocks. Good work.

Awesome. This is the only app that I can get to work. I have been Looking for an inter come app and none of them work. But this one did the trick. There is just one thing that is a little weird but I don’t care about it, it has a littl echo when you are near your speaker.

Must have app for Sonos owners. This is a must have app for anyone with a Sonos. Instantly turn your system into a PA. The new features and settings have really enhanced the app. The user interface is friendly and easy. Developer is very good about continuing to make the product better. Quick responses to comments and requests. One of my favorite utility apps.

Excellent. The new version is terrific. I notified the developer of a bug that caused a crash and he had it fixed the next day. Great, responsive support and a really, really good app.

Perfect. Okay. Not really perfect. The interface is pretty dull but it works great as long as you realize; expect a delay between speaking and announcing and don't use it when you are too close to the intended speaker(s). I have a play:1 in each of my kid's rooms. What a great way to make sure they are up and out of bed in the morning and getting ready for school. I love it! If I had believed the 2 star rating, I would never have spent the $.99, to get this app. So far so good. Bumped it up to 5 stars to show it actually works. Hope the interface gets updated in the future.

Nice App. Seems to work fine but you have to have a solid wifi signal. The first night I downloaded it my dog was barking in the middle of the night because some other dog was barking. I opened the app and told her to be quiet without having to get out of bed and walk downstairs.

Not bad for a Sonos integration!! Nice job.. Not sure why people are complaining about the echo. If you are close enough to the speakers being used causing you to get an echo, then you probably do not need to use this in the first place. Just yell. Works good. One of the better Sonos integrations I've seen. Sonos is not a big fan of helping people integrate with their system. The voice comes out clear and loud but not so loud that you need to worry about speaker damage. Not the fastest. But it is about as fast as Sonos native app so really can't complain about that. People also complain about the delay. Well, it is a Sonos thing, and once again if you are close enough to the zone being used that you hear the delay then don't use the app and just yell. I would give it 5 stars but I have an issue when grouping more then 4 zones. But I'm sure that could be fixed in the next version. I tried it out after reading the creators post in the Sonos forum. Sounds like he is willing to continue support for this.

Works great for me. I love being able to call the kids without screaming through the house. Works fine for me and it's free. Only downside I have seen is it leaves to speaker volume at the level you use on the intercom. Otherwise, it's a great little tool.

This is awesome!. I love my Sonos system, and I've always wished that there was a way I could using it as an PA throughout my house. I was so excited to find this! It works perfectly.

Bad resound!. It's almost there. I am using with Connect:Amp. My voice is instantly played which is great but it resounds badly. When I say "how are u", it says "how are u u u u". Now it is only useful as a fun toy. Hope the resound issue is fixed. Also it only has the intercom mode. Have to press and hold to talk. It would be nice if there is an option to on/off the microphone.

Lots of potential and an awesome app. I really love this app. I discovered it on a lark, but it's a ton of fun to use and useful too. I love not having to yell for my kids or being able to ask my wife something in the kitchen really fun! And works surprisingly well.

Works awesome with our system!. Downloaded the app and it works amazing for us! We have 2 Sonos Play:3's and 1 Sonos Play:5. There is a half second delay from when you start talking to when you can hear your voice but other than that this app is seriously awesome. It's great being able to talk to each other from across the house!

App crashed all the time. App is crashing all the time after the last update. It is going for bad to worse.

This app is awesome. I work in the home automation world installing home automation systems. I've had numerous customers ask for this feature, when we're doing 9+ zones of audio this feature is a handy tool to either show off to people or gather the family for meals. I hope this app gets more support from sonos, I'm calling my sales rep today to try and get some action. Thank you again this will definitely be a helpful tool to help sell the sonos product line.

App needs an update. I rely on this app as an intercom but there have been glitches lately- not connecting with our system, voice coming and going through speaker. Worked really well a year ago but have had to delete and reload the app three times in last few days. Please fix! This is such a useful app!!

Does not work. I want my $2 back

Works for me. Perhaps others have some kind of compatibility issues ... I don't know. One person complained it can't handle zone name with apostrophe. I say just drop the apostrophe. Minor inconvenience. For me, perfect function within 2 min "out of the box".

For 99 cents it's worth it. I've been saying I want something like this for awhile now, and this accomplishes what I had in mind. Namely a way to communicate with everyone in my 3 story house without screaming like a maniac. We have a family of nine and pretty good coverage with 4 players; I'm planning to add more. The echo is caused if you are close to one of the speakers and, while annoying, it is better than mic feedback. The delay actually prevents feedback, so people shouldn't complain about it. Could this be better? Yes. I'm hoping they upgrade it with better volume controls, a graphic EQ and effects to make my voice sound like Darth Vader or Alvin the Chipmunk.

Minor Bug but works Well!. Make sure you clear anything in the “queue” for the zone prior and it works every time! Hopefully the developer will continue development/support and Sonos will wise up! They are missing out on a big segment of the market. I may now buy a few additional zones speakers for other rooms the kids play in to hear us from downstairs.
