How to work on current images?. I’ve loved this app. But does it still work for iPhone 13 Pro? I just tried and can’t even get to the images I want to work on. I have thousands of images on my phone, and it starts off at the first one (taken long ago) instead of the latest one. It’s not possible to do all that scrolling to reach current images (like iPhone Photos does). What’s the remedy for this? I’d very much like to work with Mextures again! Please fix this.

App has potential but has problems.. I love the textures and filters in this application. It has great potential but I’ve experienced some issues. For one, I purchased all the textures for it but I had issues downloading them. I attempted to reach out to the support team and I have yet to hear back from them. Also, this application drains my battery by a huge percentage. Like 26% drain! I don’t know what the deal is but it probably has something to deal with the downloading. I hate how I invested money into the app and sadly had to uninstall it.

Keeps crashing. This used to be my favorite app. I used it daily. Then it continuously started crashing so I deleted the app and reinstalled it. I thought by signing it that it would keep years worth of saved formulas. It didn’t. I lost them all and it still crashes to the point of being unusable. I hope they can fix this because I loved this app.

Landscape mode. Howdy. I really love this app a lot, but pleeeeeeease figure out someway to have it work in landscape mode. It’s really annoying going from landscape in Lightroom and having to rotate my iPad that has a keyboard and everything, just to use your app. I love everything else about this app, but this is one of my biggest issues with it. Amen

Overall Best Editing App. UPDATE: Every update the Mextures team rolls out only makes this app better. Nothing negative to say about this app. After using Mextures for a while and getting familiar with it I realized this is basically the only editing app I need. You can do simple or radical edits. There are infinite possibilities.

Love it, wish they were still adding content!. I’ve been using this app for years. It’s so easy to click through the settings and once you get a hang for it you’ll be addicted to stacking 10+ layers to create a totally new aura for your image. You can save and share your formulas. I only wish they would add more new content. I still love creating with this app!

HELLO! Where are you? 🤔. This is honestly one of the best photo editing applications on the App Store but it appears it has been abandoned. I would assume the developers are cooking up something completely new to create an extra income stream for the company. I keep hoping for an update but without one, it’s forcing me to use other more modern apps. Despite the fact I like them a lot less than this one.

app didn’t work. and not getting a reply. I downloaded this app and had trouble allowing my library to be accessed, I reached out to Support and received no response other than the auto email. I reached out to weeks later on their website as well as via email and have heard nothing. it’s a little ridiculous to charge somebody for an app and offer zero support, I would love to use this app but if I can’t I’d like a refund that seems fair doesn’t it?

Meh - Has potential to be way better.. When I first found the app, I was excited to finally be able to use some different textures on my photos. However, the app makes it pretty difficult to do so. The app is just not that easy to get the hang of, especially when layering. Please make this app more easily navigable.

Love it!. Filters are my thing.. I can use one of my favorite creations and use filters and it’s a whole new picture yet with the same spin on it that made me love it in the 1st place. I quickly bought all the filters btw,they are good !

Love. This app is terribly overlooked despite just how thorough and customizable it is. There are indeed other apps with better / swifter UIs, but of the 20+ photo apps in my Photo apps folder, I can only get this specific look with Mextures. My only gripe is the laggy interface after saving a photo. After applying a "formula" and saving an image, the app lags for a solid 30 seconds to a full minute before any of the controls respond normally. This was true on my iPhone 6, and is true still on my iPhone 7 Plus. I'm not sure if my gigantic iCloud Photo Library (65,000 photos) is a factor, but no other photo apps experience anything like this lag. Also, I would love an easier way to backup custom formulas. I spend a LOT of time and energy creating custom formulas and just share them manually to my other devices as a backup. An auto-backup in the cloud would be fantastic, though I understand this would be quite an undertaking for the developer. Every single photo in my IG feed (a_wrong_time_ago) for about the past year solid has gone through Mextures first. It's a powerful app that has the potential to give your photos a subtle-but-distinct look that is impossible to duplicate in other apps.

Great app but.... I love this app. I have used it several times when I had my iPhone 7. However, I got an iPhone XR a few months ago, and since then, I have been unable to use it and have yet to find out why. Would love to see a free version of this for MacBooks so I can use it on my pro.

Worked B4 my Iphone12 purchase..but no more. Now that I have the iphone12 the app won’t open my photo library. Now it opens my library but when I save an edited image, I can’t find it anywhere - like the save function is not working When I try to share it, the app just crashes back to the beginning

Best app. I've been using Mextures for years and it is still the best product available for photo editing! Gets better with every update!

Awesome application but…. Awesome application but the “downloading” thing is NOT working after restoring the purchase. It always says “Download Failed.” Hopefully you guys will fix this problem soon. Neglected. Needs complete update.. This is a once great app. Which has been neglected. It is desperately in need of an update. They’ve done the bare minimum to keep it going. Used to love it. Now it takes forever to load. It’s not optimized for newer iPhones. I have the 12 Pro Max and many of the functions are off the screen. It’s slow and lethargic. Once in your photos they often won’t scroll. The app crashes frequently. It’s basically unusable. The positives: The filters are phenomenal. The formulas are great. The guest artist formulas are terrific. The ability to import other peoples photos is wonderful. The ability to save your own formulas also great. Please please please update.

Great - 1 Fix. Love this app. It gets a specific unique look, which I use as my coloring app before posting to IG. I noticed the UI bounces when scrolling through Film Options. Why? It seems unnecessary is functional wise, is actually a bit distracting when going between 2 different film options.

Love the app..... It’s been crashing a lot as of recent. Why is that? I open up photo and go to formulas and as soon as click on 1 formula and jump to the next one it crashes. Sometimes I get lucky and manage to save it before it crashes. Can y’all please fix it. I don’t want to update my iPhone to IOS 14 and it still crashes.

Unparalleled. So super impressive! You can spend anywhere from a few seconds to a few hours playing around with the various filters. So much fun. Warning: Can be addictive! Friends/family and family may feel neglected if using this app in their presence but they will love the final product!!

Profound Disappointment. Once my favorite app, it’s become a nightmare of regular crashes, no way to contact app developer, website has insufficient FAQs except that it is OS 14 compliant with no contact availability, nor a way to note problems via the app, the news link broken, and the only reliable page is sales of filters which never crashes! As some reviewers have said, it appears the app is in ruins. Neglected, sadly years without growth, new apps taking up the slack, building their own communities and better more robust cores. With its last breath, someone revive this sad app! Please!

Menu navigation is bad. Moving back and forth through the menu options is bad. Every time I download a filter pack I have to close the app to get back to the menu. When editing photos the navigation is very difficult and not user friendly. I love what this app can do but the interface definitely needs work.

No contact us. So I have to do it here. This is really a five star app, it just keeps crashing with the approach of iOS 13. I’m still in 12.4.1 but with the latest update to that, the app keeps crashing. Will review again and leave that five star when this is fixed. I was so glued to this app I didn’t review it when I was in love. Too busy using it. Please fix.

Missed having it, but needs some further tweaking. I cannot remember the last time I have used Mextures but I know I was pretty impressed some years back when I installed it as the first photo editing app I’ve used with an iPhone. As such I’m happy to have it, though my experience with it as very recently is a bit tarnished. The app seems to want to crash when sharing a photo via iMessage, and sometimes even loading the share sheet tends to cause it to lag and potentially crash as well.

Crashes, no support. Great app when it worked, but buggy. If you delete the app and reinstall it, you will lose all your formulas. I tried to re-create them; now when I click certain formulas, the app just crashes. No way to contact support that I can find. Sad to see this happen to a once-fun app.

My favorite photo app. By a mile.. I can't rave about Mextures (or the app's community) enough. It’s the Swiss Army knife of photo editors, with incredibly powerful filters and tools that are packaged in a dead simple interface. Whether you’re an experienced photo editor or someone just looking for a way to tweak your phone snapshots, Mextures is an outstanding choice. Check out #mextures and #mexturescollective on IG for some phenomenal examples of what this lovely app can produce. One of my favorite unique features about the app is that I love being able to create, save, and share formulae (and also using the word "formulae").

App has become unusable. I loved this app, with its customization and ability to subtly color grade photos. But recently it has been bogged down and unusable. It hangs on up the logo screen, won’t load photos, or just freezes and then crashes. There have been no new packs available for years. It seems as though this has been left to die. It’s a shame, too.

Personal favorite. Mextures has become a de facto standard for my personal workflow. It's much more than throwing a filter on an image. You have the ability to get creative, customize and save formulas. To me, Mextures allows me to create art and I'm pretty grateful for that.

Still one of the best of not THE best app of its kind.. This is always a must have app for adding a certain artistic flair or look to my photos. Please update this app or sell it to another developer so they can build upon this great app.

Really good except for one major thing. This app is great at what it does, but even in iOS 15 it shows up in portrait mode when I have my iPad in landscape. Even instagram now shows the right way up.

Had this app for years, favorite photo editing app. New logo is trash tho.. Love your guy’s app, had it since like 2018, the new logo is NOT IT. Not hating, like I said your app is the best photo editing app by far, seriously, but the new logo design is terrible.

The workaround. Figured out why the app couldn’t open my photos. I had to grant the app access to “selected photos” in setting since my large photo library overloaded it. So happy to be able to use it again.

So much potential, wasted.. When was this last updated? Why the developers refuse to allow editing in Landscape mode is beyond me. I do a ton of editing from my iPad Pros and Mextures would be an ideal app for adding filters while processing images. The lack of a Landscape orientation mode has definitely hindered this. Come on guys, get it to together...Mextures will remain on my 2 iPad Pros with the hopes that this will be resolved, though after 5 years, my optimism is beginning to fade.

Love it. I am enamored with this app. Just spent the day getting to know it, and I’m thrilled so far. I was a little iffy to pay without seeing it, but I love that once you pay (the inexpensive) price you don’t have to deal with any other pay walls, ads, or constant upgrade asks like other apps. There are some more packs of filters you can buy if you want, all preview-able and inexpensive, but what you start off with is more than enough. So excited to have found this

Very impressed!. The layers and textures in this app are really professional looking and fun to play with! I’m a photo editing snob and I’m very impressed!! Excited to keep making images with this app.

Impressive, still room for improvement. Mextures is one of the few editing apps that I have felt justified in my purchase. For the price, I believe that Mextures provides great value and a high level of customization. I love that the app provides a full range of customization with regard to opacity and blending modes. I would love the ability to move different textures around on the screen and scale overlays, though. For example, sometime of the textures can be used to emulate natural light, so I would love the ability to have full control over where the texture lies on the image. Implementing a FULL RANGE of customization would bring this review up to a 5/5.

All the right pieces. It’s all there, but someone appears to have walked away. If it won’t work on an iPhone 14 Pro Max in 2023, that pretty much tells you all you need to know. Stick a fork in it if you’re not going to support it. Or, sell it or change the business model so it’s worth maintaining it. But leaving it in the App Store like this is such a waste. Waste of a great idea and waste of time dealing with all the bugs, freezing, crashing etc.

Love it, but.... ...the update from yesterday that was to fix restoring purchases is still not working correctly. Was even charged 99¢ for an already purchased pack that still read ‘restore’ after I had restored but after the charge was an error msg that I had already purchased it and that it would restore again. Haven’t checked to see if the 99¢ went thru or not yet, will do shortly (and even if it did, this incredible app is still so very much worth it!) ♥️

Please support this app!!. It’s an amazing app but hasn’t been updated in over a year now. While I can still get it to work, it’s unstable and will sometimes freeze. It’s also not optimized for the latest iOS version. Sometimes it will take upwards of 30 seconds to export a photo. It’s a shame because there’s no other app like it.

SLOWWWWW.... Hey! A new formula pack and still no fixing how slow it takes to start another photo. After I'm done uploading an edited photo, it takes the app 21 seconds to get out of the "Saved" notification. And another 10 seconds to "Start Over." I don't mind a little lag but this costs a lot of time, especially since I created my own formulas so I wouldn't have to waste time! This used to be my go-to app. I have other apps that work instantly so I know it's not my large photo collection slowing it down. Come on, Mextures. I'm a longtime fan and you're disappointing your loyal customers. Bout to say bye Felicia.

FINALLY updated to fit the new screen sizes but still too slow. This is one of my favorite apps but I feel like it’s been neglected. Sparse updates, no new expansion packs and overlays, and very laggy performance plague this app. Even after the new update it takes me 50 seconds of waiting for it to even load my photo library... I timed it. It takes a full minute as well to export a photo with one simple overlay layer. It shouldn’t take this long. I’m using an iPhone XS Max. The more I look at it the more I realize he(they?) just did the bare minimum to keep the app from being deleted by Apple for not being optimized. It doesn’t actually work with the iPhoneX screen, parts are cropped off, there’s text at the top that’s hidden under the notch, and the buttons at the top can’t be reached. It’s crashed four times in the past 20 minutes making me lose all my work! Super sloppy work! It’s 2018. Mextures should have the ability to open multiple photos, batch-copy formulas to multiple photos, and batch export. We should have more filter packs by now. And get rid of the suggested square crop at the beginning, we’ll crop our photos how we want.

Disappointed. I want to start out by saying I absolutely love the editing features on this app. However I am extremely disappointed because due to the constant crashing I am unable to even use it at this point. And customer service repeatedly will not get back to me. I have a large Instagram presence and business where I once was able to use Mextures as my main photography editing tool. I’m really sad that I can no longer use it. If this app did not crash and I was able to edit with it, or if customer service ever responded to me, it would get five stars.

Constantly crashing. Yep, it does nice things to your photos. Until you spend a half hour working on one, then poof! The app closes and your creation is gone. Constantly. Never overlook screenshots, as this may be the only way to capture your work before it vanishes like a fart in the wind.

Best App!. The last time I reviewed this app was three years ago. Five stars then, five stars now. The app keeps getting better, with more formula choices, better functionality, and I have never found another app that comes close to being as user friendly and capable of creating such a wide variety of edits on a single photo. Best thing that ever happened to photo editing, in my opinion. My only wish would be for a wider variety of cropping options. ❤️

What happened to the Mextures I knew and loved?. A couple of years ago this was hands down my favorite app for photo editing. Now, the lag times are SOooOoooOoo long that I really just can’t use it any more. And this makes me sad bc it was a most excellent tool prior to whatever made it so slow. Bring back the good times when I could edit a photo in under ten minutes!!

Such a good editing tool! However.... As stated in previous tools it takes a full minute (60 seconds) to upload a single photo into the app for editing and it always freezes after you export it. I have to force close the app complete and start the process over again everytime. It’s extremely time consuming. I wish they would come up with an update to resolve the excruciating slowness. That being once you’re in and editing, it’s amazing. I have so much fun placing the last touches on my Photos as there’s so much you can do and manipulate in the app. Just Please fix the freezing and slowness. (It’s not device specific either the same thing occurs on my iPad as well)

Favorite App. Love love this app. Helps me to create beautiful and moody photos. I love most of all that this community shares their formulas so you can create awesome and amazing photos like them too. Of course it also allows you to create your own formulas and use them again and again. My most favorite and used app ever. 💜💜💜💜

❤️Love Mextures❤️. Recently revisited this app; it’s been around for many years. I don’t know whether to call it an overlay app or a filter app; however, it makes photos look great! You can improve your landscapes or go for a retro/grunge look. Well worth the inexpensive IAP’s to get all the packs. Not only can you add layers of overlays, there’s various blending modes—in addition to the regular photo edits. Only request would be to please make it in landscape mode; it’s a pain to turn my iPad Pro with attached keyboard on its side to use the app. And I will be using the app much more now!

Amazing texture layering app. This app is an amazing and easy to use tool for changing the feel of a photo. Its many overlays are beautiful and customizable with blend modes and opacity level. You can also rotate them 90 degrees to change where a certain color or the lightest part shows up. The layers button is very handy- when it’s open you can see each layer, hide certain ones from view temporarily, and tap on one to edit it or replace it. The fact that the number of layers is unlimited is the cherry on top- the app wouldn’t be what it is without it. The basic adjustment tools aren’t super fancy but they don’t have to be. They work well and complete the function of the app. I would absolutely LOVE to see the addition of a masking tool so that control over the effects is complete. More blend modes would also be fun to experiment with, although the current selection is great. I’m so glad the devs optimized this app- it’s a photo editing fave.

Not good as i thought. Not happy..

You don't have to crop!. Not sure about the review that said that you're forced to crop your photos - you're not! This is a very clever app that gives you lots of textures to apply to your photos and lots of flexibility in how those textured are applied. A great addition to any iPhone photographer's toolkit. Plus great support when I needed to ask a question.

Awesome. A must have app in the arsenal for any creative photographers and editors on the fly. I use this app to add the finishing touches in just about every edit I do. Would give it 6 stars if it would let me. Awesome but hey this is just my opinion. Get in there!

Brilliant app for serious iPhone-tographers. This is going to be an app I use every day I'm sure. The effects you're able to produce with these filters are second to none, and I'm definitely going to enjoy learning to apply them in their various combinations! It's almost like Hipstamatic, with control - which I love. Being able to adjust the levels to get the right subtlety is exactly what I always WANTED to do with Hipstamatic but couldn't. And people who know their Adobe Creative program's will have a field day with this one! One immediate comment though - it would be good to be able to import photos in a portrait or landscape setting as I don't usually use a square format photo for Instagram, rather the standard format photo edged by white. I don't want to apply filters to the white and colour it in any way, so it will mean filtering, trimming the white off, and then adding a clean version back on. It might seem fussy, but I know a lot of instagrammers work in the same format. Anyway - small suggestion! Otherwise a TOP app, sure to be a favourite with photographers.

Even better than before. Merek, what a great job you have done. I had learnt all the different layers before and now with a new set of textures and filters etc it’s just fabulous! This app graduated to my “favourites” folder on my iPad and iPhone about a week after its initial release. in that folder, it’s now on the first page of the folder. I think that pretty much sums up how brilliant this app is.

Impressed. Initially used on face photos and it wasnt too great then i started layering on my car photos.. Voila.. Try on scenery too.

Great overall app. .TIF support?. Mextures is a great app if you are interested in adding a bit of drama in your everyday photography. Having said that there are lots more than just filters and textures. I use this app along with snapseed, vsco, afterlight and over for editing specific photos prior to uploading on Instagram (sotirisioa). The only downside I have with this app that I don't face with the others is .TIF support for uncompressed images taken on iphone. I hope there would be a fix update coming soon so that I can resume editing. 👍😉 cheers Merek and the team. 😎 keep up the good work guys.

Fantastic. I have only just bought this and on my first attempt was totally blown away!! I am in love with mextures, it is so quick and easy and the results are fabulous !! Create great combos!!

Epic. As an avid fan of #mextures on Instagram and being an adopter of the overlays packs I was looking forward to the ease of having them all in one app, and I have not been disappointed. It's an easy to understand simple to use app that gives you great results. I love the fact that you can save your favourite combos to use again.! What a stroke of genius.! Love the variety. And the colour filters are great as well.! Looking forward to seeing what other textures and leaks will be included in future updates. A great app. Highly recommend.

Latest update causes my app to crash. I love this app - it’s my go-to app for most of my phone edits and I was perfectly happy with how it worked. Silly me - I decided to install the update, which promised to make it work even better, no more crashes, etc, and now I can’t even use my large collection of formulas without it crashing! (The rest of the app works fine but I love my formulas!). I’ve tried deleting and re-installing the app, but even that didn’t work. I have tried several times to contact the developer to see whether I am the only person having this problem, but have not had any replies whatsoever (which is a bit rude/unprofessional, when there are clear contact details on their site). I am keeping my fingers crossed that the problem I am having will be rectified with the next update. Pity - I would have had no hesitation in giving it 5 stars otherwise. Amazing app! ***UPDATED 01MAY2021*** The latest update fixed ALL my problems. Five stars all round! Thanks, guys!

Will not be disappointed!. Fantastic app. Was shocked to see the extent of editing available within mixtures. The 2.0 update was a success and I'm looking forward towards the next one.

Fab update!!. Really a staple app choice for iphoneography and keeps getting better. More than happy to pay to get the new packs in the app's extra packs store. ( i bought them all the moment i saw they were there) Really a 10 star app and one that gets constant use here, ever since it first arrived in the app store.

Mextures. I LOVE this app —it's very helpful! But, ever since the new update, the app has been really slow and it keeps crashing! For example, just as I click to save, it crashes and all the editing I've done is lost. Please fix this. Overall though, this is an amazing app.

The only filter editing app I use.. This app is a must-have for completely revamping your photos or graphic art, or just making those small finishing touches. Extremely versatile, with lots of control yet easy to use. Increasingly better with the ongoing updates. Highly recommend!

Looked good but...... Keeps freezing and crashing, won’t let me crop once I actually get that far. So many decent photo editing apps around, if you don’t get it right first time most people will just move on the next one.

Great App. I've been looking around the AppStore for a while now for a new photo editing app. But nothing I found really worked for me until I decided to try Mextures. It's brilliant. The effects are really nice, the ability to layer effects is something I've been searching for but have never found and the blending options really help to customise your photo to the max. Totally worth the 99c. Love it.

Doesn’t load all CR Photos. Great looking app on the face of it, but for some strange reason, it only loads very old photos in my Camera Roll. I’m not sure if this is related to an iCloud syncing or backup issue, but I’ve since done a backup & the problem still hasn’t rectified itself. I’ve also emailed them with no response so far. I’m using an iPhone SE with the latest version of iOS. If any support staff can reply to this & tell me what I need to do to rectify this issue, I’ll gladly delete this review once done. Thanks. 👍🏼

In my personal top 10 image edit apps. I use the app daily along with DECIM8, Tangent, Silk, PS Touch etc...

Crashing. Looks like an awesome app but I can't access the effects most of the time because the app crashes on me. I don't know if its because I have an iPod 4 but I would really like to use this app fully.

If I could only have five photography apps on my phone.... ...Mextures would be one of them. I can find no fault with this app. The 2.0 build is flat out brilliant. I'd give the app six stars if I could.

Wow.... First impression left me speechless. Easy to use photo editor for applying textures and light leaks like a pro. My first image was complete in 5 mins while on the bus. Great start...hope to see an iPad version one day.

Crippling performance makes a great app useless. If you have a decent sized photo library, the performance of the app is so slow and prone to freezing that it cannot actually be used. Just opening the photo library to select a photo to edit on a new iPhone XR with the latest processor takes over 30 seconds, and 9/10 times the app freezes during the process so you have to quit and try again. It’s not simply that it’s slow — The freezing prevents you from even selecting a photo, let alone edit one. This could be solved if Mextures let you import a picture with the iOS share sheet, or used the standard camera roll selection interface. No other photo app has this problem. Until there’s an update addressing this, it’s not worth buying.

Awesome app with 2 major limitations. When it comes to adding filters and textures, this app is fabulous. There is an endless array of options. However, what limits it is, firstly, the fact that it only allows you to work with square photos. Given the major strength of the app is in editing landscapes, this is a significant failure in my opinion and clips its wings when it comes to combining it with other apps such as Vasco cam that enable multiple photo formats. The second drawback is the lack of a levelling tool. Also a major oversight given your propensity to use it with landscape shots. If it had both of these options I would give it 5 stars. Right now, it gets 3.

5 stars if it supports iPhone X. Quite literally, it’s the only photo editing app you need on your phone. I used so many other editing apps but keep coming back to Mexture because it just does it’s work so brilliantly. However, it just seems dated and less elegant not supporting iPhone X’s screen ratio. I hope the developer is working on it.

The best!. Mextures is far and away the best photo editing app going around. So easy to use and if you dig into it, there are so many options to enhance your work. I use it on all of my instagram edits and have used it on some professional work too. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Freezing and Crashing. I know I would love this app if it would just stop freezing and crashing. It just does not cope with a huge photo library. Such a shame. Now using DistressedFX instead because it actually works.

Great app, poorly developed. My favourite app but has huge optimisation issues when you have a large image library. Unfortunately it’s unusable for that reason.

Simple, intuitive, easy, recommended.. Simply amazing. Clean and organized, very easy to use and has a large variety.

Used to be my fave but slow/non responsive. App used to be my favourite but it has become unresponsive and slow on my iPhone 8 (March of 2018) and now on the iPhone XR it’s not usable at all. Will attempt to contact support about this because I miss this app.

Still one of my favourites since the beginning. But.... Newest update is a bad one for my iPhone XS Max. For the first time ever after using this app for years and years: •I cannot save the photo. •I cannot share the photo (crashes). Luckily I can still save the formula, but that’s it. I depend on this app for my job, so will have to look elsewhere until it‘s fixed. Please be quick, I miss it so much already.

the new take on the old formula. Most of those successful photography apps use the same method of altering an image by applying layers upon layers of textures or filters onto original image from Photo album. Some designers got it right some not. Mextures is very good. The tool set is very good and it is working right. Layer blending modes are there which is very important. It lacks set of more original presets and ability to work in both portret positions. Many apps fail there. Sometimes I work for hours on my iPad and the power cable is plugged in. That prevents iPad of being comfortable set in the lap because the cable plug gets in the way. The solution is to simply turn iPad for 180 degrees but the app does not allow that. Also it would be good to be able to reapply original image or any other image at any point and then blend those layers. Mextures is very good app and it is highly recommended for lovers of iPhone photography. It does bring improved workflow with its Formula tool and it is very stable. And the price is right.

10/10. Love the new update, the app in general. Only thing is I liked being able to delete formulas when choosing pre-made ones. Wish you would bring that back. Also I find favouriting textures sort of useless but maybe that's just me. I would prefer being able to favourite formulas. That would be awesome. All in all though, it's a perfect app.

Great Buy. I was a little hesitant to buy this app. After it installed I was amazed my the different filters and overlays you can use. And the fact that you can use multiple layers adds to the endless combinations that helps you to create unique photos to enjoy and share. :)

Incredible.. Most of these photo manipulation editors are redundant. 15 filters you can slap on. Boring. The combinations you can achieve with Mextures filtering is amazing. Add layers, subtle colouring to sky, film effects - the possibilities are limitless. I'm in love with this app. It's a must have if you want professional well adjusted photos.

AMAZING!!!. I have been waiting so patiently for this app since Merek Davis announced it being in the works and it was well worth the wait! So user friendly and so many amazing textures and gradients to work with and layer. Love the ability to create your own favorites and combinations! The only adjustment to the app I'd like to see in an update in the future is the ability to erase the texture off a certain part of the image like a subjects face or skin. But even without that option still worthy of 5🌟's !!!

The Most Unique editing App period. Mextures can turn a picture of a garbage can into a thing of beauty. The range of filters, and effects is amazing. I love this App. The one thing I would like to see is an "undo" option for each selection. If I had to choose only one editing App, it would be this one.

Great start. A lot of great options! I have two issues. I will have to get used to not having an undo button easily available and also, when you tap for inspiration, the close/back button may have a bug. I can’t get out!

Great app.... ...besides the fact that for my device, there is a glitch. I have a 4th generation iPod, and whenever I attempt to save a completed image, the app crashes. It would be fantastic if that was fixed! :) Otherwise, though, Mextures is great; and is definitely worth buying.

Meant for tablet?. This app does not work on my iPad mini. I wrote out the problem, but your tricky "review" space erased my complaint when it said that the nickname "annoyed" was "taken". Cute. Please return my money immediately. Do you really want to make your money by selling something to tablet users that doesn't work on a tablet? Then making it so they can't complain? Shame.

Please update your app!!!. Was one of my favourite apps to use. But has become agonizingly slow. It crashes, freezes and is impossible to find and upload the photo I want to edit from my phone’s photo library. PLEASE UPDATE YOUR APP because your app still has some of my favourite filters still to this day!!!

Was 5. Recent update has resulted in consistent crashing when using multiple textures. Back to 5 if it's fixed as this is an amazingly versatile photo app.

:/. I purchased this app to edit my photos... The app looked and sounded great by the description, so I tried it. I wouldn't say it's the best photo editing app. I don't like the textures very much. They're faded and then placed on top of the picture you want to edit... It doesn't look good at all. I tried AfterLight, and I personally like it a lot better than this app. In my opinion, this was a waste of 99 cents.

My favorite!!. I love this app so much. It is probably thee best photo editing app on the smartphone device. If you buy any editing program this is the one. My only regret is that there is no mextures app for computers. :(

Amazing filters, awful UI. I've been using this app for a while and love what it has to offer, but... I can not believe that your UI designer thought it would be a great idea to obstruct the app's filters with a heart/favorite button (that I misclick every 2-3 clicks) AND the expand button at the bottom center, that I also keep clicking by mistake. You basically slapped an intrusive object on top of every single feature of your app. How ridiculous is that? And no, I don't have fat fingers. Please reconsider the placement of those features. Thanks.

Excellent app, but has some bugs. I love this app and it's one of my favorite editing apps, and it's even better with the new update. The only problem is it really doesn't work with my 4th generation iPod, it just crashes whenever I get halfway through editing, or whenever I try to save a picture :( please fix this! I don't want to have to go without Mextures. I've heard other people complain about this too with earlier iPhone models as well.

This used to be my favourite, but..... I had this app for years and it worked beautifully on my iPhone 6s, but now that I got this new phone and I’m trying to the same kinds of things that I used to do except it crashes when I want to change blending modes, or I’d edit the photo to how I like it but then the app won’t save my edits. It’s been pretty annoying recently, so hopefully they fix these bugs soon

Hands down the best. Mextures is legit!. Unlimited potential for turning those average photos into something otherworldly. Ease of use and almost limitless layering possibilities - Mextures is certainly one of, if not THE BEST. Hands down. Get it!

Love this app but…. I really love this app because it provides some beautiful editing options. The app needs an update though. Speed and stability improvements are needed badly. I also wish there was a way to link or save my formulas to an account. My imported and custom formulas have been wiped out a couple times with no way to restore them.

What’s going on developer?. This app is so money! I’ve used it for years and it’s so laggy as of late! It’s like The developer up and left and forgot about it! Fix this ASAP!

What happened???. I’ve been patient, you have to be with technology but after many months of not opening my photos (90k in the library) after deleting the app and starting a fresh version, I’m done :( Hopefully it will be smooth like you say in your latest update but it’s still chunky for professional photographers like me with lots of images.

Bug with photo access in iOS 17. App freezes when trying to access photo library in iOS 17. All other functions seem to work as expected.

Does not work at alll.. Does not work at all. Froze when I tried to choose filters to purchase. I can only swipe through 1 filter pack. Can’t purchase it nor get fix of the page it’s stuck on. Please fix crashing issue. The app is one of my go-to apps for photo editing, but lately it’s terribly sluggish and often crashes. I’m up to date on my iOS, and I use an iPhone 6S, so this shouldn’t be happening.

Used to love, now unusable. None of my bundles (like things I paid money for) will load. Spent all the time turning phone off, deleting and reinstalling the app, etc. Still broken. It was once lovely. Now apparently neglected and icky.

Crashes after iOS 12 update. This app doesn’t work after updating to iOS 12. Mextures was always one of my favorite photo editing apps, but after iOS 11 it stopped saving full-res files and now doesn’t work at all with iOS 12. Hope the developer updates this app.

What happened?. I love this app; I had purchased all the different packs. Now suddenly none of them are available; I can’t download anything; I tried purchasing one for a second time and it’s still not available to me. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling; no help. Suddenly useless!

Doesn’t work. Tried inserting a video and it pulls it up but never goes to the editing screen. All it shows is a black screen as if it’s frozen. Very disappointed that I paid for an app that doesn’t work!!

Once my favorite. Once my favorite app. It gradually slowed to a crawl with each OS upgrade. I attempted to contact the developer with no response. Now, at iOS 13, it’s completely unusable. What a loss! I’ll happily change my rating when this upgraded to something workable.

Please fix the resolution issue. I’m using iOS 12 and the resolution issue still hasn’t been fixed. I wish I never updated the app! I need the resolution of my artwork to be preserved.

cant save pics!. i can no longer save pics or share them. itll say the pic was saved but it’s not in my photos. clicking “share” jusr crashes the app. i tried contacting these folks but never got a reply so maybe this will work? i would totally change my review if this issue is fixes cos i liked the app when it was working!

Perpetually locks up. This used to be my absolute favorite app, but now it no longer functions. Sooooo slow even when I can get it to work. Takes forever to pull up my images to edit and save. I have deleted and uploaded it several times. I have the latest iOS on my devices.

Can’t even use the app... Just bought this and it won’t even open. Can’t access any of my photos in my library. The only way to attempt to use the app is to take a photo within the app, and then it immediately crashes every time. Terrible waste of money. Disappointed.

Open from library scrambled. Used this app for years. Something changed. Please fix how the app lists photos. Does not show most recent, order is completely random and it’s impossible to find the last saved image.

Crashes and slow. This used to be my favorite editing app, but it is painfully slow accessing my photos then applying edits. And if I’m patient enough or luck enough to get a photo edited it crashes once I’ve saved it. Do not buy until developers have updated the app!

Great app, some issues with iPad. I really love this app and it’s quite versatile. I’m having issues that it doesn’t work as well on my iPad as it does on my iPhone. Otherwise, there is a lot to enjoy and explore with this app.

Photographer. The only app I've ever purchased, and I would've payed way more. I use this app daily for portrait editing. Every image I produce goes through mextures. Love love love

Purchase won’t download. Paid for the light leaks 4 bundle and said download failed. Clicked on restore and it says I already purchased the bundle. Out a purchase and a bundle!

Crashes. This used to be a fun app, but now it crashes every time I try to add a photo. I am fully up to date on IOS. IPhone 14 pro max

Imported Formulas Stopped Working Months Ago. I love Mextures, especially being able to import formulas. But for months now, when I try to go into my imported formulas the app just shuts down. It does this on my iPhone and iPad. A friend of mine is experiencing the same thing. Wah! I need help. Since those won’t work my rating has gone from a 5 to a 1.😢

Crashes / Purchases Dont’s Download. I loved the app, so I purchased some extra filters from the store. I keep getting messages saying the purchases won’t download, and now the app has started to crash when it’s opened.

Used to use this app often. I haven’t been able to get my photo library to even open in Mextures for at least a year now! It’s sad, b/c there isn’t another app quite like Mextures. So what gives? Why has it been, as it appears, abandoned? Please update and let it actually access my photos!!

Love what it can do, but way slow on iPhone X. I used to use this app all the time and love what it can do, but it’s now so frigging slow to open and select a photo, I’ve all but stopped using it. Sure hope they fix that issue at some point soon.

Newest update not allowing library import. iPad Pro, latest iOS, and after updating app today, it will no longer import any of my library photos. I am only able to take a photo and then apply filters. Rebooted iPad and no luck. Please fix this bug!

Please Fix!. After the most recent IOS update this app is unusable as it shows the first photos instead of the latest and even after scrolling all the way down none of my recent photos are available. So sad because it was my go to app for photo filters.

Great light leaks (Buggy). Lowered my rating from five because it is unbearably buggy on both an iPhone 7 Plus and an iPhone X🅂 Max. Constantly lags at the login screen. Windows are not formatted properly and it takes noticeable time to render photos.

Needs update. Really like the effects and subtleties you can blend.....BUT it keeps shutting down and discarding edits, even though I am using latest IOS. What's up developers?

Needs landscape view and higher resolution. I like this app but it needs landscape view especially for use on an iPad Pro. I am disappointed that the resolution is not higher.
