Like so many others. Like so many others, app can’t find my location. Tried deleting and reloading to no avail. Can’t even start using. Very disappointing.

Location not working. Does not detect my location (just spins). Allows typing of location but does nothing…

Fantastic app!. I showed my gf the space station because of this app and couldn’t be more excited. Space science is the coolest! Thanks for making such a rad app

Fixed location issue. Like many others I can’t get past the detection screen for my location. Update: latest version of app fixed the problem. Works perfectly now. Thank you!

Can’t get location to load. Once I’m able to get the app to load my location I’ll write another review. But so far the app won’t dry up my location.

App Crashes Opening Camera. To go into AR mode, app crashes. Otherwise, app is neat, but main function causes crash.

Accurate and easy to use!!. What a great app!!! I love the Augmented Reality View which makes it so easy to know where to look in the sky!

It’s Free & It Works. I downloaded this NASA app for tracking the space station. Everything seems to work. You can pick which passes you want alerts for or get them for all upcoming passes. But who wants to wake up at 4:40 a.m. to see it for a minute or two? Best of all, it’s from NASA, and it’s free. I’ve downloaded so many other trackers, and none seem to always work at tracking the station.

Really cool app!. This app is really cool, but I also can’t access the camera tab. The app just immediately crashes or closes

Can’t find me. I have tried multiple times to get the app to find my location. No matter if I try to do so with location services or manuall, just won’t work

Love it!. As a student, I love the AR feature of this app to track the station in real time. There are also many other good features. Great job!

Crashes on iPhone 15 Pro. When I try AR mode on my iPhone 15 Pro, app crashes. Also, a white splash screen when app is loading does. It make sense for an app used in the night. Update. Crash was fixed in version 1.2.1.

Detecting location not working. When at the point to detect location on initial setup even with 5 bars 5G, it just spins and never detects location. Let it go for 30 minutes and was still spinning.

Not quite ready for prime time. Can’t find itself on my iPhone and won’t accept a manual location. Doesn’t work until it knows where you are (of course!). Wait for the next update before installing this one.

Location FIXED with the latest update. As an old IT guy, I appreciate the dev team responding to my review and fixing the bug. Great job guys (and girls)! Updated the app and problem fixed. I like the layout and options. I look forward to lots of station spotting! Old review: Found my closest location on the web version but the IOS App doesn’t get past the search. I tried detecting and putting in a manual location. Nothing happens so I can’t use the app. Looking forward to when it is fixed.

Everything works.. No issue with location on iPhone 15.

Much much improved. Location-detection bugs are fixed, and the app is much much better. Looks nice and works fine. I wish sighting opportunities included max elevation information, and that the globe could (optionally?) show the next orbit’s ground track, instead of only the current one. Looking forward to the app’s progress

Didn’t work, now it does. Developer read my 1 star review and took note of problem. They fixed it and now it works great! Original review below 👇 *** Loaded app and couldn’t even get past the location detection feature. I deleted and reloaded the app, tried again and nothing. There is no way to use app without using location detection and it won’t work. Waited 60 seconds for app to find my location (yes, I made sure I allowed it to) and nothing. Terrible. Deleted app again because unable to use.

Location working now. Simple to use now that location bug is fixed. No ads so that’s what differentiates this from GoISSwatch and similar apps.

Great start. Great start but AR mode crashes on iPhone pro max

Location services are broken. Won't detect my location and won't accept manually selecting location.

Not getting location. The app would never detect my location. They give you a field to enter your location but don’t tell you if they want your address, city or zip. Could never get it to work either no matter what I entered.

No longer need text messages!. I’m so glad that this app now exists. As an avid user of the Spot the Station text messaging service, I’m very pleased that I can now access even more information with greater ease.

Thanks NASA!. Very helpful app directly from NASA to keep an eye on the skies for the ISS! I love the augmented reality feature.

Updated app now works. As of today I can get past the location detection so I'm updating my review to reflect that. Very cool app!

Didn’t make it past initial setup…. The app never makes it past detecting my location. Tried several times, waited several minutes. Tried entering my zip instead, did not work. Deleted and reloaded app, same result.

Can’t finish setup. After downloading the app, it tries to “determine my location” which I allowed, but it never does - the wheel just keeps spinning. It also lets you manually input your location instead, but once typed in, there is no way to advance to the next screen. Without getting past this screen, the app is useless. I expect better from NASA.

Great App. I would like to be able to advance the time to when the next pass of ISS occurs even if it’s not visible.

Love Spot the Station. This app is awesome! I love getting notified when I should look up and waive.

Nice app but still needs something. The ‘next sighting’ tells you a date but not the time. Next to this has a countdown, so you have to calculate the time. Otherwise you have to click on the next sighting to get the list and then it tells you times. Would be nice if the next sighting button had the time with it too, rather than have to go to the list.

App now working as expected. v1.2.1 works well. Good response on fixing the location detection bug.

So fun and works great!. The app runs very smooth and is so fun! I love the AR feature and seeing the path of orbit. I totally recommend this!!

Can’t locate my location. Hearing so many good thing on this app I decided to load it. All was going well until it tried to locate my location. It seems unable to do so even when manually inputting my location. Rather disappointed and low rating. Will rewrite review if it ever loads my location and starts working properly.

Not Working. The app just spins when trying to find my location and wont let me enter it manually. I don't know if the rest of the app works because it wont move past this hang up.

Immediately crashes when accessing the camera feature. It seems to be good… but immediately crashes when trying to access the second tab from left. I’ve allowed camera permissions but no dice.

Doesn’t work. You do realize this app locks up after the first 2-3 set-up pages. Won’t load past that. Does nothing.

Exciting for dad and son exploring the sky. I am a widowed dad with an 8 year old. This app is wonderfully engaging and has very cool features. Will also be fun to build confidence and an opportunity to share roe tool and how to use it with his peers so they can show the parents. And it is free! Thanks! Dale and Julian

Working now.. NASA released an update that fixed the previous encountered issue. The app is decent but still a bit flakey. I’ll know more once I’m actually able to spot the station. :)Downloaded and it gets stuck at the ‘location’ screen. Neither the detecting location or enter location options work. Just is stuck. Disappointing.

SUPERB! About time!!!. Well designed app, easy to use, lots of great info! I just wish I had known about it MUCH sooner! And that comment is from someone who visits the NASA website almost every day!

App just doesn’t work. The app won’t detect my location or allow me to input a location. I left my phone outside for 5 minutes trying to let it detect my location, and it did not work.

Simple utility that does the job well. What’s not to love? Made by nasa for spotting the ISS. Also had AR, which is awesome and good customization for notifications. I use other sat tracking apps too, but am glad to add this to the list and will rely on it for ISS. My interest is primarily for AMSAT (amateur radio satellite communications) and love to make contact via satellites. Would be super cool to actually talk to an astronaut aboard; maybe one day. Also enjoy the ISS events such as SSTV, which you don’t even need to be licensed to receive. It does one job, and does it well. Thanks NASA!

Awesome app. Earlier version would crash when I switched to the camera in AR mode. New version this week seems to have resolved that issue. This evening I got an alert that the ISS would pass over, and was able to successfully track it in AR mode. Thanks to the developers for reading these comments and acting on them.

Fixed: Won't detect location. I was very excited to find out this app exists. I immediately downloaded it. The first thing it asks was to allow notifications, which I said yes too. But the very next screen asks me to either enter my location or let the app detect my location. I've tried both options and neither one ever goes anywhere. It's just stuck on that screen and I can't do anything else with the app. This app is totally worthless in it's current state. 11/14 UPDATE: Giving three stars now since the developers addressed this issue and my review. I haven't had time to play with it but the issue I was having above has been solved. I will update my review as I get time with the app. Thanks, devs!

It’s good but would like one feature. I love the app, I’ve been using it for awhile now but I would love to have an option of the map to show where it’s at like which country or state it’s flying over

Not working on iPhone. App is not able to detect location. Shame, cuz idea is nice. Update: starting from 11/12 everything working fine on iOS.

Can’t detect location. The application won’t get past the location settings. If I use the detect location , it just sits there spinning. It has access to the phone location. If I enter my location via the text box, nothing happens. There is no next button, nor does it verify the country I entered.

Can’t put in a location. App won’t accept a location … no button for it to do so .. and hitting ‘return’ on iPad Pro doesn’t do it either … detect location also doesn’t work.

Works great, previous issues solved. Just loaded this and all good. Date format has month spelt, was able to find my location quickly, send through notifications and gives a countdown to next passing over my location. Great 👍

No Location. App doesn’t find my location and doesn’t respond when I enter location manually

Refuses to Detect Location Licks up on Opening Splash Screen.. App locks up when. Selecting detect location. Endless spinning wheel even though prior screen shows precise location map. Unable to enter location manually either. iPad Pro 6th gen. iOS 16.2x Useless so now deleted off of device.

It does not work :(. It does nothing when I enter my location either by zip code or typing in my city. I even tried letting it detect my location and the wheel just kept spinning.

Couldn’t get past 2nd tab. It was unable to locate positions and never connected in my iPhone.

cannot get past “detecting location”. app gives me spinning wheel of doom while “detecting location” and never advances so i can’t actually get into or use the app. pretty disappointing. hope this gets fixed soon

Great Start. I’m so glad for this app! I’ve used SpotTheStation.gov since it was released. The graphics in this app, especially the 3D Earth and ISS orbit, are nicely done. I’d like to see a setting so you can select alerts for only morning, only evening or both, which the website has. I’d like to see a setting for a threshold of a 3- and maybe even 4-minute pass. And I’d like to see (literally) a replacement for royal blue text on black background.
